1. Civil Rights Leaders Demand Federal Review in Nolan Wells' Death
Civil rights leaders Ben Crump, Reverend Al Sharpton, and Congresswoman Lucy McBath joined the parents of Nolan Wells in Atlanta to demand a federal review of his death. The Congressional Black Caucus issued a formal letter giving Attorney General Todd Blanche seven days to determine whether a federal civil rights investigation is warranted. The eighteen-year-old student-athlete vanished during a Fourth of July boat trip to Horn Island before his body was recovered days later.
