- Michelle: Welcome back to Reality Hits Matt. I'm your host, Michelle. And I'm Matt. Today we have a very special guest. ⁓ She is a another friend from college, ⁓ that I met my year and we have been friends ever since. ⁓ she is funny, she is smart. And I would love to see her round the Mormon wives because she could definitely cross check them into some boards ⁓ her hockey days, and put them in their place. So she is a badass hockey player and love to watch her play hockey. And ⁓ my friend Dan all the way from Winnipeg, Canada, in the beautiful cabin you're in, it's gorgeous. Welcome to the show. Danielle Leslie: Woo woo! Yeah. Thanks. What a great intro. And You guys are going international. ⁓ Amazing. Michelle: Yeah, yeah. ⁓ Canada makes up twenty percent of weekly listeners, so I don't know if that's just you or maybe a couple others, but ⁓ Danielle Leslie: I bet it's a few more I've been telling people about this podcast because not only am I just like a general reality TV fan, I'm also a big fan of Mormonism, which I'm very passionate about it. ⁓ Michelle: Okay. Danielle Leslie: You know, this show, I was so excited when it came out because I saw like the Book of Mormon and I was like, this I can't. This is amazing. I need more Mormons in my life. Give me a dirty soda. I'm actually drinking a version of a dirty soda in a can. I'm I just Well, I mean, I need to put some cream or something in this to make it a true dirty soda. But, you know, they're they're trying to market soda as being good for you. So soda is good for me. Michelle: Okay. ⁓ they have panned dirty soda? Wow. Okay, okay. Danielle Leslie: Right. Michelle: I mean, Layla drinks like sixty four ounces a day, so I mean she is she's like I'm probably gonna die at forty but Here we are. Danielle Leslie: It's amazing. I love it. I I get it. Like I I don't know how I missed that era of life. Like that's why I was like, get me in a Mormon town. I think I would thrive. I you know, I can avoid coffee. I can, you know, abide by all their loopholes in the their life. It's so funny. I think it's so entertaining. Michelle: Did you do you remember? Cause I just watched it on the reunion and they're talking about how Mikayla does coffee enemas and they showed never before seen clips. Yeah. And she was like, and the host, Nick Viall, was like, You guys are very ⁓ specific on holes, and they're like, Because it's a loophole. Like, is it because it passes through our liver that it's bad? Then I'll put it in my butt. It's a hole on that. I'm like, that's disgusting. Danielle Leslie: Yeah, like that seems like a loophole to me. Like I mean, whether it's with coffee or just like their swinging of it all, like they're obsessed with holes, you know, like in all cases. Michelle: ⁓ yeah. I'm wait, so where did your obsession with Mormonism come from? Do you know? Danielle Leslie: yes, I do. And I can tell you about that. I I just love cults and I think Mormonism is a version of a cult, as religions are. ⁓ so Michelle: Okay. Yeah, yes. They're actually defined as cult in the definitions when you go to do paperwork. So we learned that when we went to do our pre can of our wedding, and it's like, You're not associated with this cult and I was like, It actually says that and they're like, Yeah, technically we are a cult. I'm like, Cool. Anyway, sorry. Keep going. Danielle Leslie: ⁓ And but like obviously, you know, when it comes to religion, it can be very like I don't know, controversial, right? Like there's so many things where I think people there's lots of good that can come from it, but then there's like some silly ridiculousness and like Mormonism and the show highlights that like in full blown motion and like I love it. So Michelle: Yeah. Danielle Leslie: I I'm obsessed with cults and you know you kind of just become down the rabbit hole of like different religions associations with cults and then the show comes out, I see the Book of Mormon, it's all coming together. I get to go to my first soda, dirty soda shop, a true Mormon soda shop in Canada, and I was like, I'm in, I'm in. Sign me up as a trad wife. Like I want in. I want into this cult. Michelle: Yeah. ⁓ wow. Yeah. I think we need to get you in. You need all the inside scoop and then you can come back. Danielle Leslie: Yeah, like p send me in with the Mormon wives. Like I love that shit. It's so good. Michelle: Yeah. Also though, but I I just I don't see you though getting along with some of the rules when it comes to the males though. I feel like you would be like very over that. I think that's the only downfall. Danielle Leslie: Yeah. That yeah, that that's a little bit of a sticky spot, but like, you know, we're gonna be seeing more of that as this show goes on, of how problematic that whole piece is. But it's all very informative. So I'm actually probably at the point where I know too much, you know, so then they can't they can't get me in. They can't indoctrinate me. So ⁓ Michelle: Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Mm. Yeah. You won't be getting the blessing from the bishop to go into the temple then. You probably would be not approved. Yeah. Yeah. You know, I think I would too. I'm not giving up my wine for these people. ⁓ Danielle Leslie: No, I'll miss that invite. I I won't be getting that temple invite. And Demi will be like, You've never been to the temple. So yeah, there's just there's so many good things that I can appreciate about it. Like I actually made some notes of what I love about Mormonism if you'd like to hear them before we get started. So I've Well, okay, what what I love. Michelle: I would love that. Yeah. I would love to hear what you love. Danielle Leslie: And I've talked about it a little bit. It's like the arbitrary made-up rules. Like I I think that's great. You know, they found the golden plates and they were like, here's the rules for Mormonism. And they seem like they can bend them in any way they want. So it's like we can't drink coffee, but we can, you know, absorb coffee through our butthole. We, you know, can the body is a temple. We shouldn't be having sex before marriage, but like we can soak. Like that's okay. And I think that's crazy. Like It's crazy. Soaking. Hashtag. Hashtag soaking. obviously the dirty sodas I'm like I'm obsessed with. I loved when you guys made them on like on live on the pod. I was like, that's amazing. ⁓ sign me up for that. Michelle: Hashtag soaking. I should. Matt's still mad that I haven't brought them back. So we gotta do that. Yeah, we had all the they had all the ones at the labia party. Yeah. Those were fancy though. Those were cool. I I looked up how to make them and ⁓ Yeah. ⁓ looked how to make them and I looked at Matt and I'm like, that will take me thirty minutes to make one of those. I'm not making one of those drinks. So but sorry. Danielle Leslie: Every party that they have. So a simplified version of a dirty soda, which I was gonna like in instead of grabbing this soda that I have here, I was gonna grab like a Diet Coke and then maybe put some cream in it with some like cold foam on top, and it's like chef's kiss. It's so good. Three ingredient dirty soda. ⁓ and then as I mentioned before, like the Book of Mormon really sold it for me. Have you guys ever seen the Book of Mormon like as a musical play? Michelle: ⁓ chest kiss. Yeah, that sounds good. Yeah. ⁓ no, I have not. I've been told that I should and that Matt would like it, but Matt's not a play guy, so I haven't convinced him yet. Maybe I'll give it a trial. Danielle Leslie: Matt It's made it's made by the makers of South Park. Like it's sprinkled in humor. It's it's so funny, like ⁓ it's it's a little offensive depending on who you are, but it's so good. Yeah. It's I was cackling. Michelle: Yeah, yeah. See, it's right up your alley. All right, all right. See, I tried you sold it. Thank you. Thank you for selling it to him because apparently he doesn't listen to me. So he'll listen to I was like, let's go. Danielle Leslie: But it it was they were on tour, passed through Winnipeg, and we like luckily got to go and I was like, I was out loud laughing in the theater. I was like, this is so funny. Because it's so ridiculous. Like they really like, you know, highlight how crazy some of the stuff they do is and what their, you know, the Book of Mormon would tell you is the way to life. So Michelle: Nice. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: That's yeah, that's that's it's that really got it for me. And then my two last little points that I this this just kind of relates to the TV show itself, the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, like the messiness that they are. Michelle: Yeah. Okay. Mm-hmm. Danielle Leslie: It's very reminiscent of like original ⁓ reality TV. Like think back to like first season of Vanderpump Rules, if you've ever seen that. They're just like letting it all hang out there. Nothing's off the table for like what they're what they're gonna bring to the television. And I I just love that so much. Michelle: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: And last but not least, and this was like the last little point I had made recently, because I was like, ⁓ my gosh, I didn't really realize they did this. The use of hell. They say like, what the hell? ⁓ my hell. And I just never have met anyone who speaks like that. And it's so it's so entertaining. And you'll see it more in I think the next season where there's a lot of use of like, they're like, ⁓ how are you doing? Like, how are things? And they're like, Michelle: Yeah. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: ⁓ it's been hell. And I was like, who describes situations like that? But it's so good. So Michelle: Yeah. Yeah. I mean I I definitely say hell sometimes, but yeah, that that's a good I didn't even realize that until you said it. That they say that all the time, like, ⁓ my hell. And like in my opinion, like, isn't that a swear? Like, wouldn't that be considered a swear? I would think. 'Cause you're not u well, I guess like 'cause using like God's name in vain is a swear to religion. Right. I would just think that hell is kind of a swear. I don't know. Danielle Leslie: Mm-hmm. Yes. W you would think. A loophole. Michelle: I don't know what the boundaries are there. Yeah, yeah. I mean, but comparing God to hell might be Danielle Leslie: You'd think it'd be on the same level at least, or like right there. So it's like we couldn't think of something else. It's it's just so good. I appreciate it. in respect the Mormon wives, I am going to refrain from saying the word F U C K today because I don't want to, you know, disrespect them. I wanna become them. So I'm gonna say Frick, Freak, ⁓ pff instead. Michelle: Okay. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Sounds good. If you say it we'll just bleep it out. It's fine. We can mute you. ⁓ We'll just dub the audience. We'll just dub it. It's fine. This is gonna be a slightly PG thirteen minus the coffee enema episode. Danielle Leslie: Just to keep it clean, you know? Thank you. I appreciate that. Minus the discussion of the holes. Michelle: Ha ha. So you clearly have been a fan of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives since its inception. So I'm assuming you've seen all of the episodes maybe a couple of times. Do you have TikTok? Do you follow them on TikTok? Were you like around for like the OG posts? Like, what was your history when you found out that the show was happening? Did you already know of these people or no? Danielle Leslie: I did not. I'm I'm not on TikTok. I'm ⁓ like Instagram reels, so I'm like, I don't know, what is it, three months behind the rest of the world? But I when I saw the show, so I didn't have the background on any of the characters, if you will, on the show ahead of time. But obviously as you watch every season and watch it over, as I have certainly done, Michelle: Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: you you learn more about their story and so I I was just really drawn in immediately because it's so messy. It's so messy. And that's entertainment like at its finest. I need like a little bit of messiness in my life. Not that I want it personally, but I want it to be on my screens. So that's where my true love has come from. It really does. Michelle: Mm-hmm. Yeah. It makes you feel normal. It makes you feel normal. It makes you feel like your life is boring, which is kind of nice sometimes. And that like, wow, like what I'm going through really isn't the worst because I would be able to get over this. That's that sounds like going to Walmart at like three AM when you just need to like to pick yourself up. Just see who's at Walmart at three AM. Danielle Leslie: Yes. Yeah. Michelle: least near Baltimore, sorry. Near Baltimore the Walmarts at three AM get a little ⁓ Well they're not even open at three AM anymore. Ever since COVID they're not twenty four hours. There's people there though, they're working. Danielle Leslie: Right. ⁓ you could just like cosplay as the receipt person and then you get to see everybody coming in and out, so I know what you're saying. You some you need entertainment in life, and watching the show brings that, and I'm okay with it because I would hate to be in any of their situations, honestly. Michelle: Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. Up a hundred percent. I don't know I don't know if there's a single character on the show where I'm like if I were to be on the show, I would want her life. Like I don't think maybe Macy is the closest, but even with like all of her history and like her she's gone through a lot, she's had like a lot of loss in her life. Like that's still even to me, I'm like, Holy shit, like you are just really Danielle Leslie: Ha ha. Thank you for censoring yourself. Michelle: Yeah, thank you. I did you see that? I paused. Is shit okay? I don't know. Okay. I'll try to keep it even more clean. But yeah, so I I yeah, I really don't think that there's a single person that I was like, Okay, I'm jealous of you or like I would want your life or this fame is worth it. No. Yeah, no, I'm sorry. Not it. Not it. But Danielle Leslie: I think so. Shh. Mm-mm. I would be wanna I would wanna be like a bystander at the Halloween party. Like not directly involved. I think there was that guy. I don't know if you guys well if Michelle, I guess you watched. There's like that guy who's just standing in the background of every scene when that's who I wanna be. I wanna be that guy. Michelle: Yeah. Yeah. Yes I told I I think I mentioned it where it's like this guy and he's just like he's like Yeah, he's like in every s like d it's always Dakota and then he's in the back and he's like it's like he's like a little like what's going on? What's going on? And I'm like I think I did briefly mention it i during the episode. If I didn't I meant to because I did notice that guy and I was like Danielle Leslie: Yeah, th all eyes, no mouth. Like Yeah. Michelle: Yeah, I wouldn't want to be with them or involved in that drama, but like You wanna be with them? Although I wouldn't pick the Halloween party because I don't want to see Jordan and Brett do the Chippendales dance. ⁓ I would have been very, very I'm just like that type of person. And like that would have made me very uncomfortable to see anyone I know do that. So I think maybe I would have picked like one of the girls' trips. I would wanna be like a f like the private chefs that they hire. Danielle Leslie: Mm. Mm-hmm. ⁓ Michelle: I'd want to be the private chef that's cooking for them and I'm like over there and they're eating and they're like, Well, you told me and I'd be like, ⁓ what's happening over there? But speaking of Yeah, yeah. Danielle Leslie: Yeah. Yeah, that you're on the the periphery there. Any in any scenario. That's where I would rather be. Fly on the wall status. Michelle: Yes. Yes. Absolutely. Or maybe one of the production crew. You can stir the pot if you're one of the production crew. Yeah, the with the edits and everything. Yeah. They told him to do half the shit too, which like that's why I have to take it with a grain of salt. It's like Layla got told to go to Marciano and be like, Ask him about to me. Like she didn't just do that on her own, but it's like she did agree to it because you can say no. And I feel like she is the yes person for production. Like ⁓ yeah, I'll show Taylor the text. ⁓ yeah, I'll go talk to Marciana. ⁓ yeah, like I'll tell Taylor and her mom what Demi is saying. Like I feel like she's just like, okay, yeah, like I'll go, I'll go do that. And it's like they just need that person that just keeps the conversation going. Cause like if you don't have that, then it just dies. ⁓ but what is your opinion on Whitney? Cause that has been what started this whole thing. So I wanna know what you think of Whitney. Maybe Danielle Leslie: Yeah. Michelle: what you used to think of her, if it changed or not lately. So so I just wanna hear from you on that. Danielle Leslie: So absolutely happy to talk about it. I unfortunately, season one, I was on the hate Whitney train for sure. I was like part of the hive. I was like, get her out of here. She's a terrible friend. But then, you know, as the seasons progress, she obviously has some redemption. And then you see her on Dancing with the Stars and you're like, She's just a go getter. She's a star. Like, let her shine. ⁓ Michelle: Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: So now watching it back, listening to the recaps, I can totally see how what she was doing now in comparison to some of the drama that you're seeing this season and moving forward, you're like, she's maybe one of the more normal ones. Like she's what she's doing really isn't that bad. She's keeping it kind of within the group, the friend group, not taking it online and being like a crazy person. So I'm a Whitney stan now, today, present day. Michelle: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: Whitney Stan. And this season in particular, like I obviously didn't think she was doing anything particularly wrong. She was quite hilarious with like her sarcastic comments and just kind of understanding to some extent of like where she stands with people and just kind of existing in that. The only thing I don't quite love and I can't quite understand is like her friendship with Demi. Like, because I I don't get that. Like s Michelle: Yeah. I was just about to bring that up. Yeah. I Danielle Leslie: Somebody explain that to me because we clearly see what's happening and it's like not making sense to us as the audience. Like Michelle: So season season one, like I'm like, if this is the villain and this is gonna continue, this is the lamest villain ever. Which season two, Demi definitely took that over and like topped her a thousand percent. So in my opinion, in my personal opinion, I know people still love Demi at the end of it. I think Taylor had pointed out when the swinging like during the reunion, so Matt hasn't heard this yet, but Danielle Leslie: Mm. Michelle: They're asking Taylor about the swinging scandal, and then she was saying, you know, Whitney was actually the only one to reach out to me to hear my side of the story. So I do give her grace when it comes to some stuff because she actually was like, I wanna hear your side. Like, I don't wanna just hear what's going on online. So I think she is relatable in that sense of like she does try in some of these friendships, even though she might not be a a like a number one fan. And then Michaela, when Taylor said that, was like, ⁓ interesting. Like to underneath her tone, like she didn't know that Whitney had done that. And so I think Michaela's starting to piece together some stuff. ⁓ actually started not liking Whitney at the end of season two because of her friendship with Demi, and I don't understand it. ⁓ at the reunion she was like, Jesse, what did Demi do to you? It's like, Whitney, you were sitting there. Like she ⁓ getting Jesse kicked off. Apparently she tried suing Jesse. Apparently ⁓ Danielle Leslie: Mm-hmm. Michelle: She hates her hair. It's like, it's like at that point, you should just say, like, this isn't for me to fight. Like, I'm friends with her. You guys figure out your friendships. And then I would have liked Whitney. And I've like, okay, like, I don't totally understand your friendship, but sure. But she's like trying to defend me. And it's like, no, I just don't do that. So I'm actually at the point right now where I'm like, okay, I can see why people still didn't like her at this point. And so I'm kind of nervous for season three. I'm like, Danielle Leslie: Mm-hmm. Season three's a doozy. It's you're gonna it it just keeps getting better and better. Like but yeah, it's it's it's interesting. Like I often try to think, I'm like, are we missing parts of the story here? And like Michelle: Cool. ⁓ yeah. I Danielle Leslie: 'Cause that's what it seems like. Cause I feel like Whitney has a good head on her shoulders. Like you know, present day you can see that she's doing things in the background that aren't necessarily like for the show. Like she's happy to just exist beyond this television show, which some of the girls like that's all they're for. Like Jesse, I won't talk unless it's on camera, you know? Where that's Michelle: Yeah. Yeah. Mm-hmm. It's their life. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't wanna Jesse said that. I don't wanna talk about it unless it's on camera about the Taylor thing. And so and Layla has said like, you know, the show changed her life. She at one point when she was a single mom, she couldn't feed her kids. And that was in the reunion. And then when the show came out, she got her first paycheck and she was like now I can like give I can afford to give Danielle Leslie: Mm. Yeah. Michelle: my children the life that they deserve. So she's reliant on the show. So I think we do miss a lot because there's editing and there's stuff out of the seasons that they, you know, personal lives that keep going, ⁓ that you don't see and it's like Maybe maybe that's why she spins up so much drama with She's like, I gotta stay, they can't take me off. Telling everybody's secrets and they need me. Yeah, yeah. I'm the only one willing to do the dirty stuff. Danielle Leslie: They need me. Mm-hmm. Yeah. 'Cause Well, I think with Whitney too, like Michelle: Just give me a dirty soda and call it a day, I'll get it done. Danielle Leslie: I think she had a decent following pre-show. Like I I I can't say for s certain, but I think out of the group of girls, like she's part of the OG mom talk. She, you know, has stayed relevant throughout the course of the show, whether it's she's been more like outside the group or like very much in the group. And then now she's like transcended this show at this point. So it's she doesn't she doesn't need Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. And so I Michelle: She did. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: I I I can appreciate that about her that I think she very much is seeing this as I guess this might be a reason why people ⁓ not like her in some cases. She sees this as a stepping stone to like the next part of her career. And she's treating it as such. Totally. Michelle: Which I think is fine. Yeah. She was on Dancing with the Stars, right? And and then she's on Broadway, right? Yeah. Okay. She well, she just ended her Broadway. Okay. So yeah. And then Connor, her husband, is now on Broadway. ⁓ wow. Yeah. Okay. So he's doing a little Broadway show with Nia from Dance Moms and they're doing ⁓ the dance couple Costin Myers has like a Broadway show and the two of them are starring in it. Apparently he's doing his magic on it. So Danielle Leslie: Mm. Yeah. Ha ha. Michelle: I would be very curious. I kinda wanna go see it. Danielle Leslie: I love that. I love that for him. He's he's ⁓ you know what? He might be one of my favorite characters on the show, Connor. Michelle: It's only a couple weeks, so I think it's actually I agree and I think he ha he owned up to everything he did wrong to Whitney. ⁓ their marriage has been better. It seems like from what they post, obviously you don't know what happens behind closed doors, it seems like their marriage is like so strong and they're kinda just like not willing to I guess ⁓ invite the drama in. They're just like, We're just gonna like let this shit happen and if it happens, it happens, whatever. so yeah, I I love him. He's so funny and he has like good one liners and it seems to me like even though Whitney is not good with all the other girls, like he still is nice to them and they like Connor and like they have good relationships with Connor. So that might help Whitney, I think, with like these girls sometimes where like he's like able to step in and kind of like simmer everything down. Danielle Leslie: Whoa. I mean, we we see how the women react to the husbands who don't play well with the other women and how quickly that can turn. So although it would be in his best interest to like stay on the good side of all these women, I think he genuinely like is. Whereas, you know, like Zach, it was kind of seeming like, Are you saying this? It it feels inauthentic a little bit. ⁓ Michelle: Right. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: But I don't know, we'll we'll we'll see more of that I think in the coming seasons and we can make our own judgments on that. But ⁓ yeah, I love him. And he's a supportive king. Like he's like, you know, you want Whitney, you wanna go and pursue your dream? Like, can I come? Like, I'll be there for you. Michelle: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No. He's that's awesome. Cause I do know during Dancing with the Stars, Zach was like the complete opposite with Jen, where like he's like, I feel like I'm a single dad right now and like I don't understand my role and like Connor's like, Yeah, you are because your wife's doing something so cool. So like fucking let her live her dream and like leave her the fuck alone and then it's like Zach getting jealous of Jen Danielle Leslie: Mm. Michelle: Doing a promo at Disneyland and dancing with a man in front of Cinderella's castle. And it's like she's literally dancing with her partner who isn't openly gay but gives me those kind of vibes a little bit. ⁓ because she was with Jan. yeah, yeah. His Mormon, his Mormon was showing. That's a good saying. His Mormon was showing. Danielle Leslie: Mmm. His Mormon was showing, you know? Like he it was his Mormon was was coming out there. No. Which can we blame him? Oops, Michelle: I yeah. ⁓ Danielle Leslie: your warm your Mormon's showing. ⁓ Michelle: ⁓ my god, we need to get you into the Mormon church. Move you on to Utah. ⁓ Danielle Leslie: Ha ha ha! Send me in. Yeah. I love it. I've heard great things. It looks beautiful there. There's, you know, all the seasons we get to experience. There's a hockey team, so like go mammoth. Michelle: Yeah. ⁓ yeah. They got they got a hockey team now. Yeah. They are doing Mormon Wives of ⁓ OC of Orange County. So that's being filmed. But so here here's my thing. It's not all Mormons. They're not all Mormons. So why don't we do Mormon Wives of Canada and you can be on it and you like can like we have like a couple Mormons in there and that's your way in. I think I think we need that. Danielle Leslie: Yeah. Hmm. No. ⁓ my gosh. Okay. I love it. I love the idea. Get get me get them up north. Like they're they'll be ranchers. There's gonna be some trad happening, like all of it. I'll come in with like all the dop die cokes in my arm and I'll be like who wants a dirty soda? Like it'll be good. Yeah, well well. Yeah, maybe I don't wanna suscept my life to that just yet, but we'll see. Michelle: That's my that's my belief. What? Yeah. Yeah. I think it would be I would sign up for that ⁓ to watch it and not be on it, but I don't I'll I'll come visit. I'll be a guest star. Yeah, maybe not. Maybe not. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: On this rate I might, who knows? But I digress. Michelle: So I feel like through season two we see a lot of the different friendships play out. We've seen to me and Taylor's fallout. We've seen Taylor of fall out with ⁓ a lot of the girls, even though they're not like really that bad with her, Michaela and Macy are still friends strong as ever. And then Miranda's kind of just like floating there. So my question is like, do we hear ever more from Miranda coming up? Because she just like lets the drama happen. She doesn't say anything. It just seems like she's a floater there and she's just there to be there. Danielle Leslie: Yeah, I think I mean she somewhat nods to this a little bit throughout the season where she's like, you have to be voted to be back in this group. Like, I think she recognizes the craziness. And for the most part, like this season and even moving forward, like she's pretty chill. Like, she's not trying to really start, stir, or Michelle: Yeah. Okay. Danielle Leslie: like, you know, do anything to do with the drama. Like I I appreciate her as a character. I think, you know, the timing of her coming in this season, it was a little sus because everyone's like, well, you're just in it to get famous. But like, isn't everybody at this point, you know, on the show to get famous? So it's like, bring him in. ⁓ so I and she has history. She has history with like a majority of the women in this group. Michelle: Yeah. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Bring ⁓ back. Bring ⁓ back. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Danielle Leslie: So I think she was playing it pretty smart, but I also think that's just kind of who she is, if that makes sense, as a person. Michelle: I I agree. And I do during the reunion they did ask her, like, you know, why did you want to come back? Like there's been questions about it and like I do think part of it is like the opportunity. I also think part of it is true. Like I don't think she is lying when she says, like, I wanted to come back and kind of squash the whole swinging thing because that has been looming over her head. She was trying to make it work with her husband, and then that like even off camera, like she wasn't even part of it. She separated herself from Mom Talk. couldn't make it work with her husband. So then she's like, Now I just wanted supportive moms and I wanted to be back in a group where like I could, you know, have friends that understood what I was going through through divorce. And she also says like she also points out that like I wanted to tell my truth because Taylor, yeah, she came out and told a swing scandal, but she didn't say like that she was like hitting up my husband to like have a fling with him and like I'm like, that's pretty shitty. Like, you know, like Taylor needs to be called out on that if that's really what happened. And it's like so I don't like think that she just did it for the opportunity. I think there's other reasons, but it's probably majority opportunity. ⁓ Danielle Leslie: Opportunity with also a hint of like when you said the community of it all, that just got my brain thinking like cult, cult, cult, cult, cult. Like, ⁓ everyone gets into cults because it's like a group of like-minded people that creates this community aspect that you want to be part of. So again, Miranda's Mormon was showing that Michelle: Mm-hmm. Danielle Leslie: She wants to be in the community of women, which obviously like there's many non-cult like communities, like ⁓ you could call, you know, where you moved to from a place that like you're you now no longer recognize, like a new city, and you have to build a community of friends there. Like that's one way that maybe is less cult-like. But there is something to say where you're with a bunch of people who are in similar situations in life that will help you kind of Michelle: Yeah. Yeah. Right. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: of move forward in a comfort way so yeah I mean I I don't have any qualms with Miranda really like she's she's chill I like her she yeah she's like super hot which I think we have to like maybe just mention that quickly like she's not bad to look at get her on Michelle: Yeah. I do think No, she's not. She's not. Well, I haven't seen her so and I do think should we show you? Should I pull up a photo? I don't think I actually don't think that you would find her attractive, but ⁓ just base like not saying like like that's a bad thing, but I just don't like knowing Matt's taste, I don't think she he would find Miranda attractive. I think you would find to me the most attractive because she is very gorgeous. ⁓ I think she's Danielle Leslie: She's objectively gorgeous, I think, too. Like she's like a Michelle: There's I as much as I hate her, I'm like I I like I mean you have a nice face to look at, so at least there's that. So ⁓ but yeah, so Miranda is is is beautiful. Okay. But I was gonna say something following that and then I got l sidetracked and like being like, Well Matt wouldn't think that. Let's pull up a photo. Hold on. I'll show Matt a photo really quick. Danielle Leslie: Yeah. I mean they're all objectively gorgeous. Like there's there's like everybody is is good looking in this group of people. Michelle: That's probably not the best photo I've heard. That is not the best photo to ever. Yeah that's that's Yeah, I mean Yeah, she's pretty This is Layla. Okay. This is Miranda. ⁓ Hold on. I'll show you to me. Danielle Leslie: It's like putting faces to to names. Like if you're reading a book with characters, you're like, I wonder what they look like. And then here they are. Matt's seeing them for the first time. Michelle: Right, right. And well, I've seen photos of them before and we were actually like early on in season one, we were gonna like get through season one and then Michelle was gonna show me photos and I was gonna try and match ⁓ with the girls. to you know, to like, ⁓ I think this is probably Taylor or I but then ⁓ with, you know, posting on Instagram and stuff, I've seen them and obviously like There was the one party, ⁓ it I forget what party it was, but they were all in like pajamas and like you could obviously see like Taylor's pregnant belly. So I'm like, I know that's Taylor. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah. So we like we scrapped that idea. I haven't really seen any husbands though, so maybe like I could I kinda want him to like match the girl to the husband or boyfriend, significant other. I think that would be. ⁓ But yeah, I've seen a lot of the girls, so Yeah. But this is to me. Danielle Leslie: Mm that would be fun. Michelle: Okay. She looks like a bitch. I I mean she is a bitch, but I'm just saying like she is knowing like hearing what I've heard, like that looks like to me. Maybe I should have like made him guess he would have got it. Danielle Leslie: Sorry. That's funny. ⁓ my gosh. She looks like a batch. Michelle: Ha ha ha. Danielle Leslie: ⁓ my gosh. ⁓ my hell. Michelle: ⁓ my. Well now you've seen a couple more of them. Who haven't you seen? You've seen Jen, you've seen Whitney, you've seen Taylor, now you've seen Miranda Demi. I don't like Macy and Michaela, I don't seem to ⁓ Macy's gorgeous. I think Macy's beautiful. I think she's really I think she's probably the most attractive out of all of them in my opinion. But maybe that's also part of her personality. Danielle Leslie: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Michelle: All right, the We mentioned husbands. ⁓ so we saw the inception of dad talk this season, ⁓ which I know lately had kind gotten out of hand and people were like, We don't want to see dad talk anymore. ⁓ as of like right now. ⁓ Like people are like, We're over this, like, stop posting dad talk videos. Danielle Leslie: It's called Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, not Secret Lives of Mormon Dads. It sure is. The boys are getting along. Michelle: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And here comes their Mormonism was showing, Dan. Their Mormonism came through. And I think the first one, every dad was there except for Zach, 'cause Zach at that point had had the issues with Jordan and Brett. ⁓ and now on the reunion it seems like everyone's like hunky dory with one another. husbands. ⁓ Zach wasn't in the room with them yet. I haven't seen that yet. But ⁓ it seems like the husbands do have pretty good relationships with one another. And even when Whitney was in the out, like Connor was talking to Jordan and all of them and getting like the down low that was happening ⁓ their Vegas trip because Whitney didn't go to it. Yeah all the like whenever you would be telling me about the different episodes it always seemed like There were always the girls, so much drama and the guys were just like living their lives, hanging out. Yeah you know, just w doing whatever. Like they just drama free. So should we have a spin-off show for dad talk? I don't think so though. I don't think we should. I don't think we should give them the line. ⁓ no, this is enough. Go on TikTok. I do want a spin off of ⁓ Connor's magic shows. That's what I want. I do want. Danielle Leslie: No, i if you wanna see dad talk, you can go on t TikTok, I think. You can go on TikTok. I want like a old school like YouTube series where it's like a radio show and he's like, We got people calling in and then he's like doing magic live on TV. Like that would be good. Michelle: There's a plastic thing draped over like a folding table and it's just him with a box and then it's like like he's in his garage. That would be awesome. Danielle Leslie: Yeah. Yeah, like Princess Diaries-esque, like back to like the radio show on there. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Michelle: Yes, yes. That would be that would be sick. That would be that would be cool. ⁓ so is there any what's your favorite part of season two that you can remember and what's your least favorite part of season two? Danielle Leslie: ⁓ my goodness, there's so much. There is so much. I mean the thing about the show is like every episode so much stuff happens. Cause I guess because there's so many people on the show, everyone kind of has their own storyline. But I I wanna say Michelle: Yeah. Danielle Leslie: Probably my favorite part, and this might sound like weird to say, but is like the demise of Demi. Like it was pretty like satisfying to watch that for the first time. Cause I really liked her in season one. Like I like, you know, I was on the hate Whitney train love to me. Like she's speaking what everyone's thinking. And then you just kind of slowly see like her mask dropping of like how she is probably a really terrible person. And it's beautiful. Michelle: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. ⁓ Danielle Leslie: Beautiful to watch. So I don't. It's and you know, everybody else also starts to slowly realize, too, throughout the show, like they're they're kind of like, well, Demi's taking it too far, and Taylor's just not backing down. And then when Demi like yells at Taylor's mom at the end, it's like, you're really like a bad human. Like, hold it together. You know? Michelle: Yeah. ⁓ It was so it was so unnecessary. It was just it was an unnecessary conversation to begin with. Like I if anyone's mother came to me and was like, as a grown adult, I would look at them and be like, respectfully, this is between me and your daughter. Like, thank you for bringing in the gift. Have a drink if you want. I'll see you later. like and she but she kept it going. She was like, How can I keep Danielle Leslie: Mm-hmm. Michelle: ⁓ Daddy. Calling Leanne out. How can I keep this conversation going? How can I like The gift, the gift was great though. The gift was I I I think Taylor is like a mastermind when it comes to shit like that where he's like, What can I do? Yeah. She's like, What can I do? Danielle Leslie: So good. She's so good. She gets it. Like they cut to her. They're like, what were you thinking when you gave Demi this gift? And she's just like, like it's so funny. She knew exactly how people were gonna react to that. Michelle: She just started laughing. Good. That's great. I yeah. Sh Taylor like knew exactly like what she was doing, the message that it was gonna give, like giving the girls a chuckle, like, you know what? And it's like let's let's have some fun with with what's going on here and yeah, I I love that too. It was awesome. It was awesome. Danielle Leslie: Mm-hmm. Yeah. So that was like my favorite part was watching kind of that all unfold. Cause it it was it was building and then it was like big bam like finale at the end. Like everybody except for maybe Whitney is on the like Demi's gotta get a grip over here train. Michelle: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. ⁓ Danielle Leslie: But for maybe my least favorite part, like I don't even know if I could point one out because I just I really love it all. Michelle: Yeah. You just you love the Mormonism. You just love it. Danielle Leslie: Yeah, I guess like maybe maybe just also like on the other side of the coin, like watching like Jen's kind of life fall apart a little bit is like it's it feels a little sad. And like I I you know it that highlights maybe the not so great side of like what happens when you fall into this cult early on in your life and you know what what how your life can take a turn Michelle: Mm, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: later on and like I just I feel I feel some empathy for her in that way that I'm like part of this she can't help but at the same time I think she's a liar so I don't know what to think here. Michelle: Yeah, it's it's definitely hard to know the balance because I did see like when she was on season one the red flags and like the issues she was having. I'm like, this is a you thing girl. Like like you gotta figure that out. And then I know what happens on Dancing with the Stars and like her and Whitney thing. And I do think that she was in the wrong and all the girls saw like and Whitney to this point, like the reunion, Jen's like on Whitney's side and like friends with Whitney and Whitney is like is supporting her and has supported her this entire time from what we've seen. And it's like, where then did you just say like, okay, well I'm not good with anyone else, so I'm just gonna fight with Whitney now. It's like I feel like she just always wants a fight, but I do like understand that she's going through a hard time. It's just like she just always wants to like be wrong or blame someone. I feel like the it's like blaming someone. Blaming someone else for Danielle Leslie: Mm-hmm. Michelle: Her issues instead of dealing with her issues directly. And like that's what I get from her. It's like Well, that's a you problem. Danielle Leslie: Yeah, like her I I another okay, if it's not like using the term hell, it's using the term accountability. Like they love the use of accountability. And Michelle: ⁓ my God. This we need this season, that's all I heard was accountability. That's all they talk about. This person's not taking accountability. This person is taking accountability. They talk about we need to create like we need to create a Secret Lives Mormon Wives dictionary where it's ⁓ hell, accountability, projection. ⁓ they always talk about projection, like you're projecting that on me. And I'm like ⁓ narcissist, narcissist, yep, yep, bitch. Danielle Leslie: Yeah. ⁓ my gosh. Narcissist? Michelle: They use bitch a lot. ⁓ at least Dimmy and Taylor do. Jiz. Jiz, yeah. I just want to hear like I obviously didn't watch the show, but you told me about it. I just want to see like somebody like clip all the episodes, like every time somebody says accountability, and it's just like accountability, accountability, accountability, accountability, accountability, accountability, accountability. Someone needs to dub it together. ⁓ Danielle Leslie: Jizz. Chiz. Jizz Styles. It could be a symphony. It's like do do do do do do do do do do like yeah. Yeah, it's yeah so but Jen, Jen's version of accountability is very different from what we all would probably consider being accountable. And that's frustrating to watch. Like it it's it's like Michelle: This is a song called Accountability. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: You gotta take like a little bit of ownership here. Like I'm sorry for how you received that. And it's like, but what did you do? Like man. It's yeah. Michelle: Yeah. She is something else. So is she back she's back full time season three then? Danielle Leslie: Yes. Yeah, season three. If I'm trying to remember, season three starts off on a bit of a rough note based on how things kinda you know ended here, this last episode, right? There's some like unknowns in the air of like who's telling the truth? ⁓ so you'll you'll see that. It is it's interesting. There's a lot of drama and the the character arc shifts to ⁓ Michelle: Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: People who weren't previously surrounding like the storyline or main characters in the storyline. So it's it's kinda neat to see that. Like I'm talking about this is a great cinematic show. You get to see different characters highlighted next season. Michelle: Yeah. Ha ha ha. I mean I love getting to know more of the girls and a little bit of a deeper dive. and I I sincerely hope even though I don't think it's gonna go this way, I just don't wanna hear about Taylor and Dakota ever again. Like I just like I said this when Sylvia was on the recap and then she gave me the same look you're giving me, so then I'm like, I know it's gonna keep going and it's like and I know like I know what's happening now, so it's like it's like I just Danielle Leslie: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Right. Michelle: I just want it. I don't know. As as far as I know, she said she was done with him. So we're moving on. We're moving on. Right? Right. No, the reunion they asked them and like it was like they're still like Danielle Leslie: I mean Michelle: Dakota starts crying and says he loves Taylor and then Taylor's like crying and says she can't trust Dakota and like ⁓ boy. They're they went to like stagecoach together and he was like licking her face and they showed that photo on the reunion and like and then like the host is like this seems like not peop two people who are co parenting. This seems like two people who are together and they're like Yeah, it's just difficult And he's like, If you say it's difficult one more time, I feel like Nick Vial was about to punch him in the face. Like he's like, Stop telling me it's difficult. ⁓ Danielle Leslie: Put it in the dictionary. Put it in the dictionary. Mmm. Yeah, I mean we do know that this group does contain known liars. So what they could be lying about, you'll you'll find out. It's crazy. Well no, they it they're known. Known. I'm fully indoctrinated now. They're all amazing. I love them. Michelle: Yeah, not caught on other words. Toxic. Toxic is another one. Ooh, toxic. Yeah, we got a This group contains no liars. I feel like they're all lying. Known. ⁓ known. I thought you said no liars. I'm like, like I feel like every They're They're all perfect. If you truly knew to me in real life. Yeah, absolutely. Winnie did say that on a podcast recently. They're like, if you truly she's like, if you truly knew to me in real life, you would like her. And I'm like, I highly doubt that. I highly doubt that. Danielle Leslie: Ha. They can do no wrong. No, they're I mean, j I I still just love Matt's reaction. Like she just looks like a bitch. Like it's it's like I wouldn't be approaching that person in real life because they look like a bitch. Michelle: Yeah, yeah, for sure. That is very true. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: So but yeah, that's that's it that's it. Michelle: Ha ha ha. What's your opinion on Mikaela? I wanna know that. Danielle Leslie: gosh. She I I think Okay. ⁓ my hell. she I at first I honestly didn't really even like think too much of her. Like watching it I think my first time around, she wasn't someone who I was paying attention to at all. I was kinda like, she's a side character. She kind of like pops in to make like some comments here and there. But Michelle: ⁓ hell. ⁓ hell. Danielle Leslie: Like in terms of like what she's actually saying, put it in context to like what's happening in the show. And listening to the recaps, I was like, I could totally see, you know, how she's coming off as like very immature, like petty. It's like, girl, why are you so mad all the time? ⁓ which I I now ⁓ Michelle: Yeah. ⁓ Danielle Leslie: thinking about it and like seeing when she has more of an opportunity to explain like her past, I think it really gives you context of how she's acting today in present part of the show. Because I think she's she's been through a lot of hard things at a really young age. And I think did you guys maybe talked about this in season one recap that like if you go through traumatic things at a certain part of your life, like that kind of stunts you in what state of life you were at. And so we see that unravel later on. Michelle: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Danielle Leslie: But I do think some of the stuff she does is like pretty like remove it from what's happening in the show. It's like objectively funny. Like the whole car wash thing, like that's hilarious. Like it's it's like Michelle: Yeah. ⁓ man. And then like then the next like two episodes later you're like, Why are they letting her drive? Like Macy's in the backseat and Macy Macy they ⁓ they're they're confronting Taylor about the CMA stuff. Yeah. And then I'm like, who let Michaela drive? ⁓ And then I why she was driving Macy out to the crash site 'cause that's very emotional. There's a lot going on. ⁓ okay. But I'm like again, I'm like, I probably would have brought someone else and I've been like, I'm not getting in the car with you and you drive. Like ⁓ she's scary. ⁓ Danielle Leslie: Mm-hmm. I I mean, if anything can bring you comfort, like I think she drives in this season like a Rivian or something like that, and those cars probably drive themselves. So she's probably not doing a lot of work. Michelle: ⁓ yeah, they're yeah, they're electric. They're like a Tesla. Probably yeah, you you probably can't cross the line or anything. Well that's good. That's good for her. 'Cause she kept looking over at she kept she kept she was driving Macy out to the crash site and she kept looking over at her for like extended periods of time when I'm like keep her eyes on the road. I mean I didn't say that in the recap because I'm like it was a very emotional thing, but I'm like Danielle Leslie: Yeah. And that's why it had trouble getting into the track at the car wash. Yeah. Michelle: Like, keep your eyes on the road, you're gonna give me a heart attack. Like, that's all I can focus on right now. So was she driving the Rivian in the car wash scene? ⁓ so maybe she just thought it was gonna like drive itself onto the track. That's But she couldn't even put it in neutral. Like the guy, like she was like, Why is it like the things were going underneath and it was like thud, thud and she's like, Why isn't it going? And the guy's like, put it in neutral and she's like, It is now and it's like those are the like put it in neutral. What did she do before the Rivian? Danielle Leslie: Yes, yes. They didn't program that in the car, you know? Where they were like, hey, if you have to go through like the for those Rivians, they probably didn't program going through like one of those drive-thru car washes in. So that's why there was a bit of confusion on her end. Michelle: Well Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Like what like is this her first car did she drive before the Rivian? Like who knows? What was she doing out there? I don't know. I mean, how old is she? How long has she had her driver's license? I feel like she's young. She only had it for like eight years. ⁓ eight years. ⁓ only had her license for eight years. Like, come on. ⁓ just trying to think. ⁓ Danielle Leslie: She's on the younger side for sure. She's probably like I mean also, s here's something to think about too. Like she's ⁓ maybe at this point in the show 23-24, and she has three children, like maybe she just hasn't had to drive a lot because she's been cooped up at home with those kids and now she's going out into the world and learning how to drive again. Michelle: Yeah. Which isn't the same. Yeah. Yeah, that's true. That's great. I almost just spit out my beard. Danielle Leslie: Ha ha ha ha. ⁓ but yeah, she's funny. She's a funny character. Like her hatred for Whitney is great. Like it and the things she says don't make sense, which is funny too. Like when they had the conversation, Michelle: ⁓ my goodness. She is. I I will give her that. Yeah. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: Michaela and Whitney and Whitney's like, Well, I want to sit down and have a conversation with you to understand like what I did wrong. And then Michaela's like, Well, you have to have a conversation with me to figure out like what how to make things better. And Whitney's like, I'm doing that right now. Like Yeah Michelle: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No shit. What do you think I'm trying to do? Yeah. She's like, it's on it's on you to have the conversation with me. And she's like, I where are we? Danielle Leslie: ⁓ my goodness. Yeah. Yeah. Like am I in a s in a simulation? Yeah. What's going on? So Michelle: talking to a pre-recording. Yeah, yeah. Mikael is not her stunt double. ⁓ She is a twin that we don't know about. ⁓ my god. Danielle Leslie: Yeah. She might. Who knows? But ⁓ yeah, so she's I I I've enjoyed the entertainment factor that she brings. Because it's it's airing on the side of delusional right now. ⁓ and you have to like appreciate that a little bit. Michelle: Yeah. Yeah. I feel like they're all old delusional. I feel like all of them. Danielle Leslie: Absolutely. Michelle: I feel bad for their children sometimes. I'm like Do they have normal lives? I feel like Well at least they keep them off like they're not like shown and like Some of them. Yeah, that's kinda shitty, but like you're gonna grow up and be like, Yeah, that was that was my mom. She's on this show. She's doing coffee enemas. She literally showed like they showed a clip during her union and like she had her like poop in a bowl because you're supposed to like poop it out after you do it. And it's like it was like Macy and Demi and they're like freaking out and it's like that's disg like that's disgusting. You saw their shit in a bowl. Yeah and the like it wasn't like blurred out, it was like ⁓ no, we didn't see it, but like it's like hold on a second. Yeah, it's like they showed this? No. Okay, all right. That's Danielle Leslie: She's a freak. Like Michelle: I mean, you saw something was in there, but like Dami was like, is that your poop? And she starts laughing. She's like, ⁓ my fucking god, she's like, that's disgusting. Danielle Leslie: But it's like honestly, like they're all just like a little freaky, you know? Like and that's just part of her freak, you know? Yeah. Michelle: Get your freak on. I just don't know if I would want to know that my mom was doing that. Like and then like with the with Layla with the orgasm and she's like talking about how her vibrator's her best friend, like your kid's gonna grow up and like see that clip. Yeah, what about the down in New Orleans just smoking the vag joints? Yeah, the vag joints. Danielle Leslie: That was so good. She's like Michelle: ⁓ my god, we were having such a good time with that one. we gotta go find that when we're down in New Orleans. The Vadge joint burlesque show. Yeah. All right, let's go. ⁓ go watch it. I don't wanna do that. ⁓ I thought you wanted ⁓ going in October for a wedding. Danielle Leslie: When are you guys going to New Orleans? Michelle: So we're excited. Yeah. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: That is awesome. So you're you're gonna go on the hunt for some vag joints. And gumbo. And vignettes. Michelle: Yes. Yes. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And and beignets. And beignets. And then masquerade mask. The masquerade mask, he's gonna wear one. And then I'm gonna dress like Whitney and have a black veil. And I'm we're gonna find like an alleyway. We'll do like a whole little skit for it. Cat the casual lace. The casual lace. We're just gonna we're just gonna relive the episode in our own little way. Maybe we'll post it. We need a party mod. Danielle Leslie: ⁓ my gosh and That's amazing. Michelle: We a party bus with a stripper pole in middle of it just for the two of us. Yeah, for sure. It's gonna be a great trip. So weird. Danielle Leslie: So you're like so we relived season two down in New Orleans. Michelle: I told them like we should just start traveling to where they travel to and like relive their their experience. Yeah. Yeah, let's go. We gotta go to the Chippendales in Vegas. Yeah, VIP. I wanna oil some dudes up. Danielle Leslie: They were here. ⁓ my gosh, they were here. ⁓ that is awesome. Yeah, you guys are gonna have a blast. Michelle: You you're more than welcome to join. You're more than welcome to join on any of these I mean I know you'll feel right there with your ⁓ with your Mormon friends. Danielle Leslie: With with my family. My sisterhood. Put it in the dictionary, sisterhood. Michelle: Yeah, yes. Your community. Yes. Yeah, the sisterhood. That was ⁓ that was the safe word, wasn't it? ⁓ yeah, Michaela kept saying sisterhood and then her phone was on mute. She muted her own self. She's like, I'm three sisterhoods deep and where is she? Danielle Leslie: Ha ha ha. Michelle: Is there anything else from season two? I feel like we covered a good bit of it. ⁓ I don't know. I mean, I like I'm like I still kind of blur like season one and season two together because ⁓ it's tough when you don't watch it too. Like I just listen to you talk about it. Sorry. Sorry, you have to listen to me talk about it. It's not the whole premise of the podcast. It is, it is. It's fine. We enjoy it. But no, I I kind of like blur the seasons together. Like what was Danielle Leslie: There's a lot. Michelle: What was like episode one of season two? Like give me like a line of like where season two started. ⁓ Yeah. okay. Which you were calling the cowboy pils event and we're like, what the fuck is that? Yeah, I know, cowboys and pillows, and then I realized it was like boob pillows and I like, okay, this is making a lot more sense. Okay, yeah, that's Okay, so that's that was yeah, that's Yeah, and that's where we met Miranda and Whitney came. Yeah, Whitney was pregnant and she tried Danielle Leslie: Cowboys and pillows, obviously. He Michelle: She was on the mechanical bulk. ⁓ right, right. Yeah. Yeah. I was a little worried about that. Yeah. Yeah. She was like doing a photo op and I was like, st stay off the controls. There's this thing unplugged. Like we don't want to throw like a pregnant lady off of here by accident. And she was like pregnant, pregnant. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: Yeah. Like super pregnant. I actually one of my friends, I was at like this, it was like a wrap-up party for like a fitness program. So they like to do big party stuff. And it was at this place called Cowboys, which is a country bar, and they do have a mechanical bull there. And my friend was nine months pregnant, like she gave birth like a month later, and she rode that mechanical bull pregnant. And I was like, I feel like this isn't allowed, but like that looks fun for her. Michelle: ⁓ my god. Yeah, wow. This is this is exactly what was in my mind. I mean, maybe she was like trying? Do you think she was like ⁓ it was wait, it was what child? Danielle Leslie: It was her second child. So maybe like you just have less care. I don't know. It was her second child, so I feel like once you're on to baby number two, you're less cautious about everything. But it was hilarious. I was like, is that is Lara on the mechanical bull right now? Like she's about to give birth. Like Michelle: Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean you yeah. Yeah. Right, right. I don't Like yeah, less cautious is one thing. Riding the mechanical bull is just absurd. I mean, maybe she was like trying to go in the water. ⁓ right. Yeah, but you know, like like I was saying with the photo op, if that thing's not unplugged and somebody hits a control like, yeah, you can gently move the bull, but like what if that dude slips and that thing that thing fucking goes? You toss a pregnant lady off. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: Ha ha ha. It was gentle. It was very gentle. So it's but still What if it starts bucking? Michelle: Yeah, they might have a child right there on the right there on the mechanical bull padding. We need to find you the operator so you can have a conversation with them. Yeah, need to know how these things work. Danielle Leslie: Ha ha. There I feel this is just like a a side note hot take. People who operate mechanical bulls are kind of like equivalent to people who operate like carnival rides in some ways. Like they they they're they're a little like you're like, what's going on in your brain that you like to throw people off of like a mechanical bull? You know? Let's visit that for a second. Michelle: ⁓ yeah, the Carneys, those you they can't be trusted. Yeah. PBR Danielle Leslie: But maybe Whitney was trying to induce birth too, because ⁓ Michelle: Don't even know what to say to you right now. That's what I'm thinking. I'm thinking maybe your friend was trying to induce birth. She's like, get this thing out of me. Shake it out. Shake it out. Danielle Leslie: Yeah. Which also okay, another just side note on Whitney, her both of her sons are basically named William. Michelle: Billy. Billy, okay. What's the other one? Danielle Leslie: Liam. Michelle: Liam. ⁓ yeah, it's like the end of William. Yeah. That's weird. Weird. That is So is her son's name like Billy? I she all she Bill or William, you know. All she refers to is Billy. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: Isn't that bizarre? I think it's Billy. Because she was doing press When was very pregnant and she was going around like doing the press, talking to everyone, saying, like, I don't know what I'm having, I don't know if it's a boy or a girl, but it's going to be Billy regardless of the gender. Michelle: ⁓ She wanted a gender neutral name. Yeah. Billy as a girl what is that like B I L L I E? There's Billy's. Like B I L L I E like is a Yeah, yeah, okay. Yeah, I E. Yeah, but like I think he's I. ⁓ really? I think so. ⁓ she's okay. Well then I I guess that wouldn't be sure. But like Bill like you think Billy is like short for obviously William. Liam, that is a name. Danielle Leslie: But still it's it's still derived from William. Maybe Billy Eilish Michelle: in its own, but it is the end of William. Sedona, Liam, and Billy Jean. That seems like girly, Billy Jean. ⁓ Danielle Leslie: It's it's Billy Jean? Michelle: Okay. All right then. Yeah. Yeah. We were just talking about names the other day with like people just naming like ⁓ I name's Matthew. I go by Matt you're like, ⁓ no, people are just naming their kids. Yeah, it's weird. Or like Zach. Like it's not Zachary, it's Zach. Or like Chris. Like Chris is not Christopher, it's Chris. ⁓ I can see one, I guess. That one's a little bit more social media. Danielle Leslie: What a name. So Right. Michelle: But yeah, like it's definitely becoming more of a trend to do the shorter names. At least like I feel like in the last yeah. Danielle Leslie: But then it's like y you don't have the opportunity to like receive a nickname through life 'cause you are born as a nickname. Michelle: Yeah, I mean No, yeah, your your name is a nickname. Yeah, I mean if I was named Matt, what would I be? Just Ma Take the T off. Single T. Danielle Leslie: Mm. Mm? Michelle: So sorry, I had to look up Jesse's kid's name because I always like Jagger. ⁓ god Jagger but ⁓ Jovi, and Jovi. Well, is this like Mick Jagger and Bon Jovi? I think so. ⁓ my gosh. Well and then all the girls' names too, like Jesse ⁓ is just like J E S S S I, right? Right. And then Macy is like ⁓ A Y C I. ⁓ Danielle Leslie: Mmm Jagger and Jovi Joe V. Michelle: What's Michaela? I K A Y L A. They all have like just kinda those yeah. Yeah. The weird names. Yeah. Yeah, I had to get and then Layla L A Y L A. That's normal. That's that's there's different ways of spelling. How else would you spell Layla? L E I G H L A. Okay, yeah, sorry. Danielle Leslie: It is. Mm. Le La Le La Michelle: Hello. So what can we look forward to in season three and season four without giving too much away? Don't spoil it. ⁓ my god, not Don't spoil it. Danielle Leslie: Hmm, no spoilers. Well, more more rodeo-esque things as I bread crumbed before. ⁓ we love that. Mm-hmm. Boot barn. And ⁓ okay, season three. The there are some further demise of friendships. If I can maybe say that without naming any names. Michelle: Yes. With the boobarn hat, of course. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Even even like with new with new people that haven't really been beefing. Danielle Leslie: I mean, it it might be ⁓ expected based on what we've seen to date. there are some interesting relationship dynamics as we kind of know dad talk gets more in the mix, so then we get to see more of the relationship between the husbands to their wives, ⁓ and any potential cracks associated with that, because Michelle: Okay. Okay. Okay. Danielle Leslie: You know, it all comes back to like swinging in some way. And we know that when you swing with your friends, good things don't happen. Like that's what this show has taught us. Like, don't swing with your friends. ⁓ No. ⁓ and then there there's gonna be continued frustration. Michelle: ⁓ my. Okay. Ha, I I don't think that that would be good. Danielle Leslie: from what's happening in the show because you don't want that to be happening and you want people to maybe realize something else. So that's without giving I'm trying to not give too much away. But but you guys are now aware of like what has maybe transpired present day. So you get to fill in the gaps in between. So Michelle: No, it's all good. Well, excited. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, she is. You act like you aren't. You know a little bit. I'm not on TikTok. I don't know what's going on. He knows a little bit. We had to do a whole podcast on Yeah. We had to do a whole podcast on Taylor's Bachelorette ca season of being canceled. Yeah, we did do a little So you you know a little bit. I know a little bit. Just which I heard it's coming out. That would be great. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: I mean you guys talked about it a little bit. I mean it better. Like Michelle: Eventually. I mean, they spent all that time and money. I mean, it's gotta come out eventually. ⁓ what about other reality TV? Is there other reality TV that you watch? Danielle Leslie: ⁓ my gosh. I watch so much reality TV. That's like basically exclusively what I watch. ⁓ I'm a big Bravo girly. I love Bravo. All things Bravo. I'm fully in like the summer house of it all right now. I don't know if you guys are ever heard of Summerhouse. Michelle: Yeah. Love it. Okay. I ha I have he probably I've heard of it. Okay. ⁓ That's shocking. Danielle Leslie: But there's there's some escandalo that's been happening as of more recently. And it's like the type of scandal where like I never try to be that kind of person who like tries to have parasocial relationships with like reality TV people. But I was like, this is taking over my life. Like I can't eat, sleep, or think about anything else other than this show. And that's bad. Michelle: Yeah. God. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: That's really a reflection of what's going on in my life. Like, so that's been entertaining, and we're now seeing that kind of come to a close. Thank God. Like, I need to move on. I need to move on. I need to move on. So that's been great. I love Vanderpump rules. I feel like you guys should cover that at some point because it's it's so entertaining. It's so crazy. Michelle: Yeah. Holy shit. I personally need to move on. We are gonna do the Villa episode between season two and season three. ⁓ because we saw the Villa come in and Sylvia text me and she's like, I was wrong about the season, you need to do a pause and like ⁓ the villa. I'm like, I'm gonna just gonna do it after season two so then we can like reflect on it and now that we know more Danielle Leslie: Mm. Michelle: information. Yeah. ⁓ and then I know the the dads went to the villa so then we'll like sneak that in between three and four. So take a like a little a little break and and get those included. So yeah. Danielle Leslie: Yeah. Yeah, those ones because the like the Vanderpump Villa show, it's a bunch of characters who we don't have any info on. Like it's all new people. And the s by season to season the cast also changes quite a bit too. Michelle: Yeah. Okay. Okay. Danielle Leslie: So you get to start fresh. You could probably like compress your recaps on those because some people it's like, we're never gonna see them again. We don't need to dive too far into this. Michelle: Yeah. Yeah. ⁓ right. Right. I think for now the f like we're just gonna do the ones that the Secret Lives cast are on. But I was talking to a coworker and she's super into reality T V as well and she like gave me a list of the like the the Vanderpump Rules episodes I need to watch because of Stasi. And then she's like and then and then watch. And so I have that like list from her. So Danielle Leslie: Yeah. Mm ⁓ She's amazing. Michelle: Yeah. I think I'm gonna watch her episodes and just get context before I watch Vanderpump Villa. And then we'll go from there. But yeah. ⁓ Danielle Leslie: Mm-hmm. It's so deep. Like it's such real like especially in the cause Vanderpump. So okay. Bravo, what I also really like, they they have connected shows with one another over the years. So it started with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Lisa Vanderpump was on that for a period of time. And then Michelle: Yeah. Mm. ⁓ okay. Danielle Leslie: Lisa and her husband Ken. This is just like a quick high-level overview for you. ⁓ Lisa and Ken are like restaurant moguls in LA, and one of Lisa's staff was found out to be having ⁓ affair with one of Lisa's friends on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Michelle: Yeah, yeah, yeah. In real households. Danielle Leslie: So then they're like, What what what can we do to resolve this? Let's put ⁓ on TV together. So Q, Vanderpump rules, then transitions into a its show of its own, which is based around the staff at her restaurant. And this is like truly staff. Like people who, you know, are living by paycheck to paycheck. They are hustling. They're trying to make it. And then it obviously ⁓ Michelle: Yeah. Okay. Yeah wow. Yeah. Danielle Leslie: you know, evolves into something bigger because it's like an eleven season type show. through Vanderpump Rules we ⁓ also get introduced to Summerhouse, is the show that I'm also currently obsessed with. So they do like a transition into Summerhouse, which now is like ten seasons deep as well. ⁓ Michelle: Okay. Danielle Leslie: And then now from Summer House they've transitioned into another show called In the City. And it's it's so good. So if you ever Michelle: I've heard of In the City and another podcast I listened to is actually recapping that. ⁓ so yeah, okay. But like Vanderpump when we were in Vegas, that was one of the restaurants we went to. Yeah. Cause Yeah. W was a Steelers game on. I wanted to watch it. All the bars were packed. We walked by Vanderpump. Danielle Leslie: Mm-hmm. Two. Vanderpump Apatty Michelle: Their bar was empty, they had the game on. Yeah. We sat at the bar, had some apps, yeah, some drinks, and we watched the Sealers game there. Very, very hoity to place. It is. Well, she's a very hoity to person. So Okay, so yeah. I need to cut this out of the episode. I can't Danielle Leslie: Yeah, that's Lisa. Michelle: Well anyway, we really appreciate you coming on and it's been a lot of fun. Yeah, it's been awesome. ⁓ love you. ⁓ I hope to see you soon. I know we were supposed to plan a 10-year reunion. I don't think that we ever got that on the books, but we do need to do something with the group here shortly and be together soon. Also, we do want to come to ⁓ Danielle Leslie: Yeah, we gotta take it out of the group chat. Michelle: Yeah, we gotta we gotta take it out of the group chat and we gotta we gotta plan a Mormon adventure. I think that's what we need to do. Yeah, why don't you all go to Utah for ⁓ for your ten year go go to Syracuse reunion Dirty Asotas at the Mormon shop in Utah, which has nothing to do with Syracuse, but Hey well. Okay, maybe not. anything else? ⁓ Danielle Leslie: ⁓ my god. Swag. No, it's been I feel so honored that you guys wanted to have me on the pod, just FYI. ⁓ I love your what you guys have done. It's so fun and entertaining. What a great concept. And I love you guys. I miss you guys, and I want to see you soon. So we're gonna definitely take it out of the group chat. Maybe we can plan something that blends all of our favorite things together. Like let's go Dancing with the Stars tour in a Mormon place, get some dirty sodas, and then maybe try to hunt down like Lisa Vanderpump or something like that. I don't know. ⁓ Michelle: ⁓ my goodness. I think that sounds amazing. Wow. Yeah. Let's plan that trip. I think I maybe we get tickets to Dancing with the Stars Live and we go and then Yeah. a con? ⁓ Danielle Leslie: We go to Dancing with the Stars Khan in Palm Springs this year. ⁓ my gosh. Who? Yes. Michelle: ⁓ What? I didn't even know Yeah, how do you I gotta do some more research. ⁓ my gosh. Okay, okay. I think we I think we can ⁓ start developing this plan here soon. Danielle Leslie: There's so many things we can do. So there's no shortage of fun. And we could also just like get together and do something chill too. Like it doesn't have to be about the dirty sodas. I'll settle for that. Michelle: Yeah, I mean that would be fine too. ⁓ I mean I just wanna be in the cabin you're in right now, to be honest with you. It seems like beautiful there. Danielle Leslie: I mean it is quite really nice here. Like I can I show you. That's the lake right there. Yes. so yeah, we it's like very warm here right now. Like we it was winter like three weeks ago, basically. So now we're in full fledged summer. Michelle: Is that a lake? Okay, beautiful, yes. We're so happy to have you as a guest. We're looking forward to season three. Yeah. ⁓ thanks everybody for listening. ⁓ if you want to follow us on Instagram, it's at reality hitsmat. It's reality hits ⁓ A T just one T.
