- 2:46Speaker 2: your first winner here?
- 2:47Speaker 5: Yeah negative eight, all right, never been under fifteen.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Yeah, welcome with sure, man, you get real smookie out
- 2:58Speaker 2: here for sure. Obviously.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Man, we know you know what you do for eleven,
- 3:02Speaker 1: but also you know you get active on the court. Man, Yeah,
- 3:04Speaker 1: I shouts my boy j You know what I'm saying
- 3:07Speaker 1: that the highlights of you in the ymc ain't going crazy.
- 3:09Speaker 2: What's up? Where do you get grew up hooping a
- 3:10Speaker 2: little bit?
- 3:11Speaker 5: Yeah, I grew up hooping with some of my homies.
- 3:14Speaker 5: But when I being a wie man, I just be
- 3:16Speaker 5: telling man, I don't even really be trying for now.
- 3:19Speaker 2: You be looking like lebron Yo highlights real.
- 3:22Speaker 1: It's crazy all his life tech off the women. I'm
- 3:27Speaker 1: like the one foot bouncers.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Nuts. Bro, What position did you play in high school?
- 3:31Speaker 2: One through five? Bro? What on stretch? Telling you? What
- 3:42Speaker 2: was your number? What number you were?
- 3:45Speaker 5: I wore three different numbers. I wore two, fourteen or
- 3:47Speaker 5: twenty one.
- 3:48Speaker 4: Come on, man, my twenty one swarter guys my number,
- 3:50Speaker 4: I'll tell you. Shout to Darious Day that went to
- 3:55Speaker 4: L SHO.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Do you know who that was? He went to? Yeah?
- 3:58Speaker 2: From with us man, Yeah, he went to L s U.
- 4:02Speaker 2: I believe he was called back in the day.
- 4:04Speaker 5: I've seen him hoop in person a few times. I
- 4:06Speaker 5: think we still played against Okay, I think Bro went
- 4:11Speaker 5: to I MG two high school.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Since we're talking about hoops, Yeah, how many people do
- 4:16Speaker 1: you think of playing the NBA in the NFL?
- 4:18Speaker 2: Think we had that. They had that debate going, how
- 4:21Speaker 2: many people in the NBA? Yeah, and you think they
- 4:23Speaker 2: can translate? You think position? I know, I could have
- 4:27Speaker 2: been a silly dB. That's just me. My feet like that.
- 4:32Speaker 2: You don't see my feet? You crazy?
- 4:34Speaker 1: Hips is crazy polls like I bro f work like that.
- 4:44Speaker 5: I don't know, man, because you got a bunch of
- 4:47Speaker 5: different positions, so you you gotta specify for me.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Because every let's just say, they could be a wide
- 4:53Speaker 3: out athlete. Most of the basketball players about six streing up. Yeah,
- 4:57Speaker 3: they could be a decent wild out. They probably all
- 4:59Speaker 3: worn about four fives four six in that right. You
- 5:03Speaker 3: don't think they run four fives and four six mm hmm.
- 5:07Speaker 1: That's that's actually moving a little bit. No, they can move, Bro,
- 5:12Speaker 1: what you know, trust me, Bro, I run like a
- 5:14Speaker 1: four to four Okay, I can believe that. Yeah, but it's.
- 5:18Speaker 3: People fast me like Anthony Edwards definitely run like a
- 5:21Speaker 3: four five easy.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Yeah for sure. He can't play for that. Yeah, yeah,
- 5:28Speaker 2: that's crazy.
- 5:29Speaker 4: He thinks he just translates better to basketball and football
- 5:32Speaker 4: than vice versa, than the football player trying to hoop.
- 5:36Speaker 5: And you know, at a high level, see every football player,
- 5:40Speaker 5: I can't hoop. But I don't really think basketball players
- 5:46Speaker 5: like that's physical for the for the sport.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Feel not at all one hundred percent agree. EJ still
- 5:54Speaker 2: want to tackle that now, he still want I told him.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Out like football, man, like I could get up, I
- 6:03Speaker 1: could catch your pass on them. And you said, I'm
- 6:05Speaker 1: lest you catch the ball sea play football, said bro,
- 6:08Speaker 1: let's flag. Bro, you can't tackle.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Me for sure. Man.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Obviously, growing up in Florida was just a mecca of
- 6:13Speaker 1: football for you, going crazy in high school? How easy
- 6:17Speaker 1: was it for you this hour you wanted to go
- 6:18Speaker 1: to college because I'm sure obviously you had everybody wanted
- 6:20Speaker 1: you to pull up.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Nah, everybody, Uh I had. I probably had like nineteen
- 6:29Speaker 2: eighteen offers.
- 6:31Speaker 6: Damn.
- 6:32Speaker 5: I mean that's that's that's a decent amount. You know,
- 6:35Speaker 5: I'm not I'm not knocking it or nothing, but most
- 6:37Speaker 5: of the quarterbacks in my class that had like thirty
- 6:39Speaker 5: plus damn. So I really felt like I was slept
- 6:41Speaker 5: on a little bit. But I mean, choosing the car.
- 6:45Speaker 5: It wasn't necessarily too hard for me. I knew I
- 6:47Speaker 5: didn't want to be nowhere cold because you know, from Florida,
- 6:50Speaker 5: and then I didn't want to be too far from
- 6:52Speaker 5: my family.
- 6:53Speaker 2: It's really just trying to pick the right school.
- 6:55Speaker 5: And then Florida was the only school talking about education anyway,
- 6:58Speaker 5: So I was like, why not just at the crib?
- 7:01Speaker 1: That's dope, that's hard for sure. Lineage regards school, you
- 7:04Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. We talk about the Florida Gator Days,
- 7:07Speaker 1: especially of our recent know a little bit older than you,
- 7:09Speaker 1: but they the t bow days, and it was the
- 7:12Speaker 1: Gloria Days for show show about that man that look
- 7:16Speaker 1: we talked about all times on the Best College. Seems
- 7:18Speaker 1: about time that that T bow squad they had when
- 7:21Speaker 1: it Percony Harvey.
- 7:22Speaker 4: Come on, bro that way on your decision though, like
- 7:25Speaker 4: the history of the school or was it more so
- 7:28Speaker 4: like the coaching staff?
- 7:29Speaker 2: Like what led you to Florida?
- 7:32Speaker 5: Nah, It's really like the staff, you know, and then
- 7:35Speaker 5: you know it's a great school to get an education from.
- 7:37Speaker 5: So I was like, that's a plus. The main thing
- 7:40Speaker 5: already looking at was how fast I can get on
- 7:42Speaker 5: the field. Actually, you know, I might have a chance
- 7:44Speaker 5: to get out there early. So why not going to
- 7:46Speaker 5: a school instead of trying to sit for two years?
- 7:48Speaker 3: Yeah, So like when they recruit you in football, because
- 7:51Speaker 3: I know in basketball that's the thing you want to
- 7:54Speaker 3: play as a freshman. Like when you go at football,
- 7:56Speaker 3: do they tell you like, yo, you're not gonna play
- 7:58Speaker 3: your freshman year.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Doing recruiting, I went to you signed the line and
- 8:03Speaker 1: they let you know pretty much crazy.
- 8:06Speaker 2: That's why I couldn't. That's why I can't play football.
- 8:08Speaker 2: But I mean, especially in the league he was in.
- 8:09Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying that that's different.
- 8:11Speaker 3: No, I mean, you gotta it's a learning curve for sure,
- 8:13Speaker 3: But like I feel like if you good enough.
- 8:16Speaker 5: I mean they'll let you know, Like if you come
- 8:20Speaker 5: in here and do what you gotta do, then you
- 8:21Speaker 5: got a chance to play. But they're not gonna tell
- 8:23Speaker 5: you like, oh, you're not gonna play.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I need to guarantee. I mean, if you go
- 8:27Speaker 2: in the USA, you behind Reggie Bush down straight up.
- 8:33Speaker 2: That's why I would have been at Marshall.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Sayggie Bush, bro, like now I'm gonna play at marsh
- 8:39Speaker 3: Until you get to practice, you realize, oh that's Reggie.
- 8:42Speaker 3: But they gotta play today. I'm going to Marsha because
- 8:45Speaker 3: I ain't gonna waste my time. I want to play immediately.
- 8:47Speaker 3: I couldn't do that. Like I respect everybody who can
- 8:50Speaker 3: like red shirt and stuff.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I respect that.
- 8:53Speaker 5: I mean for basketball, it's different because if I was swooping,
- 8:57Speaker 5: I want to guarantee a spot on the court. Yeah, football,
- 9:02Speaker 5: you gotta learn a new system. You gotta new workouts,
- 9:06Speaker 5: like new bunch of things. There's a bunch of people
- 9:07Speaker 5: on the team anyway, they guaranteed some of this stuff
- 9:11Speaker 5: to other players.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Anyways, It's like you got and may be big already.
- 9:15Speaker 2: So it's like sometimes you gotta sit down and just
- 9:17Speaker 2: be quiet.
- 9:18Speaker 1: For sure. I was gonna ask you that. Obviously, how
- 9:21Speaker 1: was their transition going to the college. You know what
- 9:23Speaker 1: I'm saying. You get comfortable the high school age. I'm
- 9:25Speaker 1: like that, now you're in a new age and you
- 9:27Speaker 1: in a real conference in football, how was that transition going?
- 9:30Speaker 1: Like you said, obviously having size on you pause, but
- 9:33Speaker 1: then you had to go in there and deal with them.
- 9:34Speaker 1: They was already grown men in that situation at nineteen
- 9:37Speaker 1: twenty because they had them workouts.
- 9:38Speaker 5: Yeah, I got to Florida when I was seventeen. I
- 9:42Speaker 5: was already pretty big for my side. I was like,
- 9:44Speaker 5: I was already like sixty three to twenty two thirty.
- 9:48Speaker 5: So it was like, yeah, I was already matter. But
- 9:53Speaker 5: football always gonna be football to me. You feel men, soever,
- 9:56Speaker 5: I don't care what league I'm man, I don't how
- 9:59Speaker 5: fast the other person ball, then always be balled because
- 10:01Speaker 5: I've been playing since I JIT So it's like it
- 10:04Speaker 5: ain't nothing too crazy. But it was a little different
- 10:06Speaker 5: than my first time stepping out there, like all right,
- 10:09Speaker 5: these lights bright for.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Real facts man, two thirty seventeen. Bro, you know what
- 10:14Speaker 2: I'm saying. Bro, You thinking your look your you was
- 10:17Speaker 2: one sixty go to Florida fucking with ain't richard them?
- 10:22Speaker 2: I was on fifty five when I graduated high school.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Wait to let you up. You the first kid was
- 10:27Speaker 2: high school too.
- 10:28Speaker 5: No, I ain't let me. But I used to always
- 10:30Speaker 5: play quarterback in safety. Yeah, but when I got to
- 10:33Speaker 5: high school, that was like, nah, I need you at quarterbacks.
- 10:36Speaker 2: You can't play safety.
- 10:38Speaker 5: Some of your favorite quarterbacks number one camp Okay, that's dope.
- 10:43Speaker 5: See that that's my dog Lamar definitely go Vig for sure.
- 10:48Speaker 5: I like Josh Allam a lot. I like a Rod
- 10:51Speaker 5: a lot. I can't really keep going for sure.
- 10:54Speaker 2: You're a fan of the game.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Yeah, man, I was thinking about this the other day
- 10:58Speaker 1: looking at some old Madden covers and stuff like that.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I was like, some of the black quarterbacks that don't
- 11:02Speaker 1: get spoken up. Steve mcdair was one of the coldest
- 11:04Speaker 1: that don't get talked about it. I've been here a
- 11:07Speaker 1: little bit about him, about what is the coldest? I
- 11:09Speaker 1: had this jersey whatever for every day. Don't say nothing,
- 11:13Speaker 1: ain't I ain't had no gear, bro, I.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Love Mama. Tell it was a lot of y'all.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Bro.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Ya was real Brady brunch bro, Steve the football gray,
- 11:24Speaker 2: which what.
- 11:25Speaker 4: That ninety two strange? See, you ain't rich, too young
- 11:29Speaker 4: for that. You know nothing about that. You see that
- 11:33Speaker 4: y'all was already swaggy by the time like you became
- 11:36Speaker 4: like fourteen fifteen, y'all was already geared, Like yeah, we
- 11:40Speaker 4: feel me. They go on to Prime, they suits Taylor.
- 11:43Speaker 4: They got designed to shoot my.
- 11:45Speaker 2: My super prom with the four Eggs K and G
- 11:48Speaker 2: model facts. Bro, my super four Eggs, Bro, you wanted
- 11:52Speaker 2: it like that. Yeah, that's how we wore our clothes
- 11:55Speaker 2: back then. That's a jersey. Yeah, that's the only that's
- 11:59Speaker 2: a prom you got right at the problem was a
- 12:05Speaker 2: four x though. Yeah, bro, we were clothes big back
- 12:07Speaker 2: in the day. I don't know that ain't no, it would.
- 12:11Speaker 2: It wouldn't. Trust me, it would.
- 12:13Speaker 4: That's why I said, y'all, y'all fashion is way way. Yeah,
- 12:17Speaker 4: I'm gonna try to pull out a suit like that one.
- 12:19Speaker 3: No, I don't do that, bro, Try to bring me
- 12:21Speaker 3: probably won't be that crazy right now. Baggy clothes coming
- 12:24Speaker 3: back in. What we was doing was absurd. I was
- 12:26Speaker 3: one fifty five, had forty two jeans.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Niggas was hoping on four x five x T shirts
- 12:31Speaker 2: under their jerseys. That was That was drippy.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Yeah, it was nasty work. But if you bored one day, bro,
- 12:37Speaker 1: go check out. So the boy videos back and I
- 12:39Speaker 1: used to always watch that. Yeah, go see how long
- 12:41Speaker 1: your shirts? Was said, Yeah, that was a that was he.
- 12:45Speaker 2: It was a nasty time, nast, very nast time. That
- 12:51Speaker 2: so so funny listening to people his a talk about us,
- 12:55Speaker 2: they'd be so disappointed that he was hurt When I
- 12:58Speaker 2: said I had a four X. He looked like, I'm
- 13:00Speaker 2: gonna work for it now. I would never like, wouldn't
- 13:04Speaker 2: le go put on the four. That's oh man.
- 13:12Speaker 1: But obviously, man, you know what I'm saying, you adjusted
- 13:13Speaker 1: went crazy. I gotta ask your last year Florida, how
- 13:16Speaker 1: was that? Cause, you know what I'm saying, a lot
- 13:18Speaker 1: on all like people obviously recognized how talent you were
- 13:20Speaker 1: and how good you were, and a lot of people
- 13:22Speaker 1: like you said, slept on you. And then as the
- 13:25Speaker 1: season progresses and now it's time seasons ending, draft wars
- 13:28Speaker 1: is coming, and now your name is like shooting to
- 13:31Speaker 1: the top where he's like I should have already been there,
- 13:32Speaker 1: but like everybody's waking up to you. How was that
- 13:35Speaker 1: feeling to start? You know what I'm saying, get some
- 13:36Speaker 1: of the recognition from the fruit of your labor. At
- 13:38Speaker 1: the same time still kind of slighting you.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Man. My whole career at Florida was a little different.
- 13:45Speaker 5: My first year, of course, I got read shirt on't
- 13:48Speaker 5: played four games. My first career pass was an interception.
- 13:52Speaker 5: One of my first career was a fumble. It was
- 13:55Speaker 5: a little rocky already, but last game of the season
- 13:59Speaker 5: they threw me out. Yeah, it was getting whooped by Oklahoma,
- 14:01Speaker 5: losing by thirty. Threw my first touchdown. I'm like some cheesing,
- 14:05Speaker 5: yeah yeah, he down like thirty. Everybody like, are you good.
- 14:09Speaker 5: I'm like, yeah, I just threw a touchdown. So that
- 14:12Speaker 5: kind of set it up for me, and I was like, Okay,
- 14:13Speaker 5: this next year, I got a chance starting quarterback. And
- 14:17Speaker 5: my dog e you know, uh, he was a year
- 14:20Speaker 5: dog too, so you know, being me and him competing
- 14:23Speaker 5: every every day and he won a job, it was alright, cool,
- 14:27Speaker 5: you're gonna you're gonna get in. You're gonna split time
- 14:29Speaker 5: a little bit. So I'm like cool, and I started
- 14:31Speaker 5: pulling my hamis. Never pulled my hamies before. I'm like, bro,
- 14:35Speaker 5: what's going on? So I played a few games that year.
- 14:39Speaker 5: Mess they messed around and threw me out there to
- 14:41Speaker 5: start against Georgia, number one defense in the country, like
- 14:46Speaker 5: statistically everywhere. It's like, man, first game, left that game
- 14:51Speaker 5: early with a concussion, so I'm like, bro, something ain't
- 14:54Speaker 5: something that right. Then I messed my knee up and
- 14:57Speaker 5: had to have surgery at the little season. So my
- 15:00Speaker 5: third year had a new coaching staff. I told him,
- 15:04Speaker 5: I say, man, see how the spring go. But if
- 15:08Speaker 5: it ain't it, I'm out of here, you know, so damn.
- 15:11Speaker 5: They was like it was like, all right, we understand
- 15:13Speaker 5: because I was gonna have to learn the new offense and stuff.
- 15:16Speaker 5: And I was like, man, I don't know, and I'm
- 15:18Speaker 5: coming off for knee surgery. You know, I might not
- 15:21Speaker 5: be able to run the same, But you know, I
- 15:23Speaker 5: stuck with it, you know what I'm saying. My family
- 15:26Speaker 5: was that have support me. I had the guys with
- 15:28Speaker 5: me all the time. They were supporting me. They was
- 15:30Speaker 5: turned up at the games. But finally, like that end
- 15:34Speaker 5: of that year, I already knew I wasn't gonna be
- 15:37Speaker 5: out Florida again, you know. So whether I did declare
- 15:41Speaker 5: or not, I wasn't gonna be there again because I
- 15:44Speaker 5: just felt like I just needed to change.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Something for me.
- 15:47Speaker 5: But I declared because I was hearing I can get
- 15:50Speaker 5: drafted first round, second round. I'm like, who don't want
- 15:53Speaker 5: to get drafted first and second round?
- 15:56Speaker 2: Right?
- 15:56Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying. I just better myself, my name,
- 15:59Speaker 5: my deal, And I already knew I was gonna do me.
- 16:01Speaker 5: Everybody's gonna finally start waking up and seeing who I
- 16:04Speaker 5: was so everything just falling line and onside of.
- 16:06Speaker 2: God for sure. And that was the firepark.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Like you said, deal with that adversity that you dealt with,
- 16:11Speaker 1: but your skill and ability was always there no matter
- 16:13Speaker 1: what happened. It was just needed to be recognized at
- 16:15Speaker 1: the right time. That's what the fire part about it.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Boys like you had the people who were skeptical about it.
- 16:19Speaker 1: It's like we didn't see enough. We didn't see enough
- 16:21Speaker 1: with them. When they saw you actually work, they saw
- 16:23Speaker 1: you do you like it's under novel. So that was
- 16:25Speaker 1: like dope to see. And then obviously we ain't gonna
- 16:28Speaker 1: go too far. But like you come in here, bro
- 16:30Speaker 1: mean so much. I know you probably hear that shit
- 16:32Speaker 1: a lot, but for this city and the people that
- 16:34Speaker 1: look like us and the representation that happens, we don't
- 16:37Speaker 1: get that to happen a lot here. So for that
- 16:40Speaker 1: to happen for you to come here, it's crazy. But
- 16:42Speaker 1: definitely got to talk about that process. Man, did you
- 16:44Speaker 1: even know that she was gonna be Inflis? Obviously maybe not,
- 16:47Speaker 1: but did you have a thought about that?
- 16:49Speaker 2: Man? You know, it's crazy.
- 16:51Speaker 5: So before I even declared, everybody was like, oh, you
- 16:56Speaker 5: might end up in Indy.
- 16:57Speaker 2: You might end up in Indy.
- 16:58Speaker 5: And I'm like, I'm like, okay, cool, Like I'm hearing
- 17:02Speaker 5: they need a quarterback, but it was like five other
- 17:04Speaker 5: teams I needed qvs too. Yeah, So I'm like, all right,
- 17:07Speaker 5: bet we'll see train to keep going. I just keep
- 17:10Speaker 5: hearing more and more. I'm like, all right, this might
- 17:12Speaker 5: actually happen. Then I started hearing more about other teams.
- 17:15Speaker 5: I'm like, all right, so I see how it's gonna go. Like,
- 17:17Speaker 5: I just don't know where i'mnna end up. And I
- 17:19Speaker 5: thought I was going number one. I swear I did.
- 17:23Speaker 2: My agent. My agent told me. He was like, you
- 17:25Speaker 2: know what I'm saying.
- 17:26Speaker 5: They moving around, they doing certain stuff, so you know
- 17:28Speaker 5: what I'm saying, they might get you. So I'm like,
- 17:31Speaker 5: all right, cool, you know what I'm saying, first round,
- 17:33Speaker 5: number one pick, that's crazy, Like why not? But man,
- 17:38Speaker 5: we got closer to the drive and were at the
- 17:40Speaker 5: drift like two or three days before the drive and like,
- 17:43Speaker 5: I'm like, bro, I didn't hear no call from Carolina yet.
- 17:46Speaker 5: I'm like, I'm not going number you know what I'm saying.
- 17:49Speaker 5: I'm like, bro, I'm not going number one. It's like
- 17:51Speaker 5: you don't know, you don't know, just just chill. I'm like,
- 17:55Speaker 5: all right, bro. So the day of the drive, they
- 17:59Speaker 5: had a little hats set up or whatever, and then
- 18:02Speaker 5: one of the running backs had them like messed up.
- 18:04Speaker 2: One of the hats. It was besign messed up the
- 18:07Speaker 2: it was an indie hat.
- 18:09Speaker 5: My mom went over there to take pictures with the
- 18:11Speaker 5: other QB moms and she fixed the hat. I'm sitting
- 18:13Speaker 5: there watching her and she's fixing the hats. I'm like,
- 18:17Speaker 5: I'm like, man, I mean right. And she was the
- 18:21Speaker 5: only person that seen the hat that was messed up,
- 18:23Speaker 5: and she the one when I fixed it.
- 18:24Speaker 2: I'm like, all right, I might mess run I do
- 18:27Speaker 2: it end up in Indy?
- 18:27Speaker 5: For really, the fourth pick came well, even before the
- 18:31Speaker 5: fourth pick, the third pick, that's what we was really
- 18:34Speaker 5: worried about though, because kept hearing people is gonna trade
- 18:36Speaker 5: up and try to grab me. DMN Houston got that
- 18:39Speaker 5: pick and let that folks, I say, we're going to Indy.
- 18:43Speaker 2: That was that happy to have you do. That's that's far.
- 18:49Speaker 2: It's crazy.

- 21:15Speaker 5: And I got shot man. First day got there, there
- 21:19Speaker 5: was like, you know, we're rocking with you. We believe
- 21:22Speaker 5: in you. I don't do too much, you know what
- 21:24Speaker 5: I'm saying, Just come here and be you. I was like,
- 21:28Speaker 5: you know what I'm saying, say less like I do.
- 21:30Speaker 5: Just come here and beat me. Not do too much.
- 21:34Speaker 5: They just been showing love every sin. That's family, bro, dogs.
- 21:40Speaker 3: What's that like like leading men? Though, like I've kind
- 21:43Speaker 3: of been a similar situation. You not as important because
- 21:46Speaker 3: it's so Basketball is a little different. I mean quarterback,
- 21:49Speaker 3: you know how it is.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Yeah, everybody, not everybody can play point guard, but we
- 21:53Speaker 1: get a shared.
- 21:54Speaker 2: I mean, PJ pretty much QB as well.
- 21:56Speaker 3: Yeah, but you get shared duties, like you can have
- 21:58Speaker 3: a two guard bring the rock up, but as a quarterback,
- 22:02Speaker 3: you the focal point.
- 22:03Speaker 2: You make shit happen on offense. What's that like leading
- 22:07Speaker 2: men as a young rookie Betts looking towards looking to you. Yeah,
- 22:11Speaker 2: uh all right.
- 22:13Speaker 5: It was a little different at first. When I first
- 22:16Speaker 5: got here, I was only twenty years old, so it
- 22:18Speaker 5: was like like, dang, you got people here, folk, kids,
- 22:23Speaker 5: I feel your wife. I've been in the lead for
- 22:25Speaker 5: eleven years, possibility hand buster. How it is grown man?
- 22:30Speaker 5: What they do if he ain't doing it the right way?
- 22:32Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying. So I just I just
- 22:33Speaker 5: sat back, of course on the QB. So they don't
- 22:37Speaker 5: they don't listen, you know if I say something a
- 22:39Speaker 5: little bit. But now that I know what I'm saying,
- 22:41Speaker 5: I haven't been been here for a year, you know
- 22:42Speaker 5: what I'm saying, they respect me a lot more. But
- 22:46Speaker 5: when I first came in, it wasn't necessarily me trying
- 22:48Speaker 5: to like boss people around. I know my position. I
- 22:52Speaker 5: know everybody gonna have eyes on me and they want
- 22:54Speaker 5: to listen to me. But Shaid I was a rookie.
- 22:56Speaker 5: I'm young. I was twenty years old. So it's like
- 22:59Speaker 5: you gotta see back and learning sometimes. So that's what
- 23:02Speaker 5: I was really doing, just sitting back. You know what
- 23:03Speaker 5: I'm saying, talking to Z, talking to Speed, talking to Buck.
- 23:06Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying, talking to the veat guys
- 23:08Speaker 5: that have been here, done it already, saying just get
- 23:10Speaker 5: some advice. And what I'm saying, they just just let
- 23:13Speaker 5: me know I ain't gotta do too much.
- 23:15Speaker 1: And the fard part about that is, you know what
- 23:16Speaker 1: I'm saying, Obviously, the respect is reciprocated. You look at
- 23:19Speaker 1: people like you, You look at people like Anthony Edwards, like
- 23:21Speaker 1: for him to be that age in that locker room
- 23:23Speaker 1: and they listen to him, for you to be at
- 23:25Speaker 1: your age in that locker room, and they respect what
- 23:27Speaker 1: you do because they know you put the work in.
- 23:28Speaker 1: It's dope as fuck to see. I gotta ask, how
- 23:31Speaker 1: was it that first game? You know what I'm saying,
- 23:33Speaker 1: You building up to this moment, want to make it
- 23:35Speaker 1: to the league. Now you got your first game? How
- 23:37Speaker 1: was that feeling? First game was lit?
- 23:40Speaker 5: I ain't gonna lie running out of the tunnel, I
- 23:43Speaker 5: swear I never felt anything like that before, Like damn,
- 23:46Speaker 5: they felt like a real movie scene. Like I'm just
- 23:49Speaker 5: jumping around looking at the stands. I'm like, damn, I'm
- 23:52Speaker 5: really here.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Hell yeah.
- 23:54Speaker 5: So it was lit, but I had a little bit
- 23:57Speaker 5: of nerves. I ain't gonna lie because it's like the field,
- 24:00Speaker 5: first game, young quarterback, It's like everybody trying to see
- 24:05Speaker 5: what I'm finn to do. So the old me I
- 24:07Speaker 5: used to always try to be Superman on the field.
- 24:09Speaker 5: I'm trying to make every play. Every play I make
- 24:12Speaker 5: gotta be a big play. So as a quarterback, you
- 24:15Speaker 5: just gotta learn how to manage a game. And that
- 24:16Speaker 5: was really what I was trying to do, you know
- 24:18Speaker 5: what I'm saying, just through my job and I do
- 24:20Speaker 5: too much. So it was cool And once I got
- 24:22Speaker 5: that first one, then I was like, all right, I
- 24:24Speaker 5: could do this for sure.
- 24:25Speaker 2: How is that adjustment?
- 24:26Speaker 1: Like obviously, you know what I'm saying, You playing the
- 24:27Speaker 1: big time, laying college and then coming to the pros,
- 24:29Speaker 1: You're just like, all right, everybody ain't as good as me,
- 24:32Speaker 1: but they damn sure close.
- 24:33Speaker 2: How is that adjustment?
- 24:34Speaker 1: Even with like training camp and stuff like that, like
- 24:36Speaker 1: dealing with your skill set is a new set of type.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Of players M see playing in the NFL.
- 24:43Speaker 5: I feel like it's easier in college, for for real,
- 24:46Speaker 5: because like in college, you got like you got players
- 24:51Speaker 5: that's like they good, they know they're good, but they're
- 24:54Speaker 5: not as confident, you know what I'm saying. They got
- 24:56Speaker 5: to rely on other players to do this for them
- 24:59Speaker 5: to do that. But in the league, everybody isn't trying
- 25:02Speaker 5: to work to stay in the league, you know what
- 25:04Speaker 5: I'm saying, trying to keep their job.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Everybody trying to ball out. For sure.
- 25:07Speaker 5: That just let me know I ain't got to do
- 25:09Speaker 5: too much. I gotta do my job. Yeah, and he
- 25:12Speaker 5: gonna do his job. It's gonna work. But the adjustment, man,
- 25:17Speaker 5: my first my first practice with the vest was rough.
- 25:20Speaker 5: I do like three interceptions. I'm just like, man, you.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Do fast speed.
- 25:27Speaker 5: So I had to I had to get my mind right.
- 25:29Speaker 5: But it wasn't. It didn't take too long to for sure.
- 25:33Speaker 1: That's funny because you talk about that with college you
- 25:35Speaker 1: you was just like like the NBA was like the
- 25:37Speaker 1: spacing and stuff. The difference in the game is kind
- 25:39Speaker 1: of easy to adjust that way and to hear that
- 25:41Speaker 1: the football is very interesting because, like you said, everybody
- 25:44Speaker 1: in the league cold.
- 25:45Speaker 3: Everybody cold, but the challenges is that everybody's cold at
- 25:48Speaker 3: the position they fast. Everybody's great, but they like you said,
- 25:52Speaker 3: everybody on your team is great too, and they working.
- 25:55Speaker 2: So it makes your job a little easier.
- 25:57Speaker 3: But it's definitely a little different than college, all right,
- 26:01Speaker 3: because sometimes in college you got a couple of guys
- 26:03Speaker 3: that's there just for school, Like I'm playing this sport
- 26:05Speaker 3: to get my degree, I'm gonna be account so they
- 26:08Speaker 3: don't put the same amount of effort in and do
- 26:11Speaker 3: this in the NFL. So I understand, But my question
- 26:15Speaker 3: was I like to have fun. I play mad. You
- 26:19Speaker 3: play mad bro? Bro what I used to? I used
- 26:22Speaker 3: to a lot, But you ain't play with your your bro.
- 26:28Speaker 3: I want why you start doing emotions though? Bro just
- 26:31Speaker 3: talk saying bro, you ain't. You ain't picked your bro.
- 26:38Speaker 2: I have. But I better even be in the game, man.
- 26:41Speaker 1: I feel you you got way more film session now.
- 26:44Speaker 1: I did go ahead. I mean I got time to
- 26:47Speaker 1: play the game. But when I be having free time,
- 26:50Speaker 1: be trying to resto because I'll be tired. I feel
- 26:53Speaker 1: you heard my boy said door dash, Look it works,
- 26:55Speaker 1: so hard. He gotta eat Doordas essentials to his life,
- 26:59Speaker 1: loves Dodash. Yeah right there telling me a single day
- 27:02Speaker 1: I do it that you know, I tap in.
- 27:04Speaker 2: I need to tap in. He screenshot that balance nasty
- 27:07Speaker 2: to show on.
- 27:09Speaker 1: That sugar day. Me and Hill we listen. We do
- 27:11Speaker 1: a crush together. We did one before we too, spend
- 27:17Speaker 1: the blot, spend a block.
- 27:18Speaker 2: I wanted to ask you though, when you start rapping
- 27:21Speaker 2: bro twenty twenty two.
- 27:24Speaker 5: A couple of my homies they wrapped. Yeah, they've been
- 27:27Speaker 5: doing it way before I was doing it. And once
- 27:30Speaker 5: one day I just went into the studio session with
- 27:32Speaker 5: him and I'm like, man, y'all, let me get on
- 27:34Speaker 5: the song.
- 27:34Speaker 2: But I was just playing.
- 27:36Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 27:36Speaker 5: It was like all right, bet so I did it.
- 27:40Speaker 5: I'm all right, feel kind of good, know what I'm saying.
- 27:43Speaker 5: I get there because I don't really be talking that much.
- 27:45Speaker 5: I really chill mold, but music just let me express
- 27:50Speaker 5: how I feel. I ain't got to talk to nobody
- 27:53Speaker 5: to do. I just go rapping.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Get out.
- 27:57Speaker 1: When I saw you and I saw the music videos,
- 27:59Speaker 1: I was like, this about to be the quarterback and
- 28:01Speaker 1: that it's fucking up the rivers he had eighty five kids.
- 28:05Speaker 1: We got somebody your YouTube getting cracked. I was all in.
- 28:08Speaker 1: We needed for the city. Who you listen to for
- 28:10Speaker 1: the game?
- 28:12Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, he just started on last year. Last year,
- 28:17Speaker 2: I would listen to yourself right before you play. It's crazy,
- 28:22Speaker 2: that ain't crazy. I was.
- 28:23Speaker 5: I was doing that in college. Yeah, I was rapping
- 28:26Speaker 5: before then, though, Oh yeah, yeah, that's what I mean.
- 28:29Speaker 4: Yeah, because we thought you being like twenty twenty two
- 28:31Speaker 4: is when you first I'm talking to when you first
- 28:33Speaker 4: hit the.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Studio, and like, oh yeah, twenty twenty two, Oh okay,
- 28:37Speaker 2: just rapping, just blasting around all that before.
- 28:40Speaker 5: Okay, cool cool, But yeah, no, it really depends on
- 28:45Speaker 5: how I feeling though before the game. I'm trying to
- 28:48Speaker 5: turn up. Then I gotta find somebody to turn up too,
- 28:53Speaker 5: But I really just be trying to chill most of
- 28:56Speaker 5: the time. You're right, I listen to myself, you know
- 28:58Speaker 5: what I'm saying. Because I listen, my museum motivate me
- 29:01Speaker 5: more because I'd been talking about my life, you know
- 29:03Speaker 5: what what I've.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Been through and stuff.
- 29:04Speaker 5: So it's like, all right, this is why you hit balling,
- 29:07Speaker 5: so let's keep it going. You got a tape dropping soon,
- 29:11Speaker 5: probably not, but give me, like, give me a few months.
- 29:15Speaker 5: I got you because I've been I've been meaning to
- 29:18Speaker 5: you know what I'm saying, get back into stude, But
- 29:19Speaker 5: I've been.
- 29:20Speaker 3: Some time locked in for sure. We had a guess
- 29:23Speaker 3: that he listened to the Usher before the games.
- 29:26Speaker 2: He out of pocket. I know he's a goddamn one.
- 29:29Speaker 2: What he at Usher?
- 29:31Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 29:31Speaker 4: Right, seohn Ron though he listens to ushers. That's why
- 29:34Speaker 4: I asked you what you even before growing up? Like
- 29:37Speaker 4: what was your go to your headphones? Oh man, you're
- 29:42Speaker 4: a Florida boy. I ain't know if anybody down there Kodak.
- 29:46Speaker 2: Of course you got to listen to Yet all the time.
- 29:48Speaker 5: Yeah, I was a big Uzy fan for a while.
- 29:54Speaker 5: Then I love Key transitioning to no Cap and then

- 31:09Speaker 1: out the way define. And the crazy thing about the
- 31:12Speaker 1: city is that like it's good. I mean, no matter
- 31:15Speaker 1: what the Pacers do, the way that the coach season
- 31:18Speaker 1: goes affect so much in the city. And it'd be
- 31:20Speaker 1: crazy because they don't even got to be a good
- 31:22Speaker 1: season if everybody feel happy or positive about the shit.
- 31:25Speaker 1: The city is different. For like six or seven months, man,
- 31:28Speaker 1: when we was going through it here, it was real sad.
- 31:31Speaker 2: Her It's real sad. It was real sad dog.
- 31:34Speaker 1: But even last year, man, you know what I'm saying,

- 31:37Speaker 1: getting the rest to get ready for next year, the promise,
- 31:40Speaker 1: like the team and you brought were so happy for
- 31:42Speaker 1: the city, like especially with you, you know what I'm saying,

- 31:56Speaker 1: Know what I'm saying, then watching how do you feel
- 31:58Speaker 1: so far about like come into the next season, like
- 32:00Speaker 1: being able to say, all right, I had a small,
- 32:01Speaker 1: simple size, but I know what I'm capable of.

- 32:28Speaker 1: gig for that season. Man, I ain't even a coach fan,
- 32:31Speaker 1: but all my friends and family and coach fans.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Listen.
- 32:35Speaker 1: I'm from the city, born and raised. You know what
- 32:37Speaker 1: I'm saying. When the coach win, it makes me happy.

- 35:50Speaker 5: He clean clean, such a hoop and so whatnot. We're
- 35:53Speaker 5: gonna see you a mixed six four six four center.
- 35:56Speaker 5: So my nigga center said some scrange.
- 35:58Speaker 2: Rich speed player. That's a hell of a pick and
- 36:00Speaker 2: roll speed speed, really speed speaker, my nigga was.
- 36:06Speaker 4: He was rusty, he got a nice form speed. He
- 36:10Speaker 4: just rough stip on fucking basketball. Looked like a nerf ball,
- 36:13Speaker 4: my nigga. So it was a little how he was
- 36:16Speaker 4: shooting before. He was shooting it so hard. But I
- 36:18Speaker 4: feel like he could be a Rashie Wallace is out
- 36:21Speaker 4: of pocket like a Ben Wallace. Yeh Ben okay, yeah,
- 36:24Speaker 4: you call him Ben Wallace. That's the hell of Rashiz.
- 36:28Speaker 4: Rashida's a finish. My nigga is a bruiser. So he
- 36:31Speaker 4: held the paint, damn for sure.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Puts up.
- 36:35Speaker 1: But obviously, man, you played in the division now AMC South.
- 36:39Speaker 1: It's a lot of crazy Robberts going on. You know
- 36:41Speaker 1: what I'm saying, I've been seeing a lot of talk
- 36:43Speaker 1: going on. Yeah, we talked about it for the city
- 36:45Speaker 1: on Bathfric Coast. It's not Nig's not talking down the city.
- 36:48Speaker 1: I see c J out there, you know what I'm saying.

- 36:53Speaker 1: saying you on the way back, and it's up this year. Yeah,
- 36:56Speaker 1: I've been seeing the talk.
- 36:57Speaker 2: I know that.
- 36:57Speaker 1: I know you're not gonna do that, but I want
- 36:59Speaker 1: to know we got one like that here in the
- 37:01Speaker 1: city too.
- 37:01Speaker 2: Let's speed do all the talking. You know, you gotta
- 37:03Speaker 2: say nothing speed on that. Yeah.
- 37:06Speaker 1: I love it though, But one thing I want to
- 37:08Speaker 1: talk about is, like, you know what I'm saying, the
- 37:11Speaker 1: best part about this age of sports is like y'all
- 37:13Speaker 1: having a platform to be.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Able to speak if I want to or stuff like that.
- 37:16Speaker 1: I think that that's absolutely fire for the young quarterbacks,
- 37:19Speaker 1: especially like for him Michael Parsons, to be able to
- 37:21Speaker 1: talk about the games, because to hear you'all perspective from
- 37:24Speaker 1: stuff is so dope, Like even with you to hear
- 37:27Speaker 1: your perspecially about stuff that a lot of people wouldn't
- 37:29Speaker 1: understand who actually know the game. I think it's far
- 37:31Speaker 1: to see, Like, how was it for you to be
- 37:33Speaker 1: able to you know what I'm saying, Like to see
- 37:34Speaker 1: that type of representation now, because a lot of times
- 37:36Speaker 1: it was up to the media to say stuff, and
- 37:38Speaker 1: they could say a whole bunch of stupid stuff and
- 37:40Speaker 1: you just be like I just had a bad day,
- 37:41Speaker 1: Like I just had a bad game. I like the
- 37:45Speaker 1: fact that we are, you know what I'm saying, speak up.
- 37:48Speaker 5: We can say how we feel and people like, okay, cool,
- 37:50Speaker 5: Like I understand that now, whereas before, you know, you
- 37:53Speaker 5: can't really say too much because they're like, oh, he's
- 37:55Speaker 5: complaining and he's a devo. He's not focused on yep ball,
- 37:59Speaker 5: you're not focused on his uh. But it's like, nah,
- 38:01Speaker 5: we were able to speak up, you know what I'm saying.
- 38:03Speaker 5: We get to talk, we get to see how we feel,
- 38:06Speaker 5: and people respect it. Now.
- 38:07Speaker 2: Hell yeah, Like I like I like that. Yeah, Mom's well,
- 38:11Speaker 2: start to a podcast. I'm about to y'all boys, you
- 38:14Speaker 2: boys getting me right.

- 38:25Speaker 1: real chef.
