- 0:28Wait. I'm laughing so hard. I forgot to finish my intro. Oh my g-d. This is Beek on being a SISTER SESSION with our special guest, MASON.
- 0:38So excited
- 0:42This is a special treat for our viewers, our special guest appearance by MASON. This is the blondie's husband. He loves to get a shout out on the SISTER episode. So much so that I gave him choices on ideas that are coming on, and he decided instead of anything else, he wanted to be a part of SISTER Sessions too. I love it.
- 1:01Samantha Shere Sharpe: He crashed our party
- 1:02Melissa Shere Beek: He crushed our party, but I think he's here to be validated because I think he wants people to see that the experiences that he says he has, know, daily. They're like the real deal. No. That they're absolutely true.
- 1:13Oh, yeah. He's out there telling people.
- 1:15Mason Sharpe: I also wanna point out my side.
- 1:17Melissa Shere Beek: Oh. Oh, that's
- 1:18Jessica Shere Coggins: gonna be good too.
- 1:19Melissa Shere Beek: Defense. Okay. So he's here to confirm stories and get the inside scoop and to defend
- 1:26Mason Sharpe: Yes.
- 1:26Melissa Shere Beek: Himself. But first, I wanted to start about really the reality of you marrying into a very matriarchal family. Because so Doug had an older sister, which I thank God for every single day. And and he he met Sam and Jess when they were, like, 13 and 16. And so he and he wasn't fazed by them.
- 1:49He wasn't fazed by what his sister did. He wasn't fazed by our daughters or anything like that. And even when Stella when Doug would fall asleep, you know, and Stella would do a full face of makeup on him, and he would wake up and go into whatever city we were going into, like, totally made over. Nothing fazed him. Yeah.
- 2:06But you you had a brother. You did not you did not come did not come from a world of women like this. So we wanna know since you didn't come from, like, a long line of loud mouth, strong opinion, unedited unedited, unfiltered women. I can't wait. All of us, we we have some questions.
- 2:26Jessica Shere Coggins: You didn't prep. Are you ready?
- 2:27Mason Sharpe: Yeah. Go for it.
- 2:28Jessica Shere Coggins: No. He got no prepping everyone. Do you
- 2:29Melissa Shere Beek: have anything you wanna say before we start?
- 2:31Samantha Shere Sharpe: How much you love me?
- 2:33Jessica Shere Coggins: How great of a family we are.
- 2:35Mason Sharpe: This just feels like normal.
- 2:36Jessica Shere Coggins: And I'm your favorite sister-in-law.
- 2:39Melissa Shere Beek: This is normal.
- 2:39Mason Sharpe: I used to this. This is like starting off when I first got into the family, obviously, it's a little different.
- 2:44Melissa Shere Beek: Right.
- 2:45Mason Sharpe: You know, because you guys don't come usually like one at a time. You do as a group.
- 2:48Melissa Shere Beek: A package deal. And
- 2:49Mason Sharpe: then like, depending on what you say, this one sister and the other sister's aware and they'll report you like, do you believe that Mason said this? And then and then they come back and they question you. It's
- 3:00Melissa Shere Beek: It's a lot.
- 3:00Mason Sharpe: So this year, I only got three of you. So this is this is Yeah.
- 3:03Melissa Shere Beek: So this is much calmer Yeah. Situation. Yeah. So I was gonna ask you, what was your initial thought about all of us when you first met Sam?
- 3:12Mason Sharpe: I was trying to think, like, when is the first time I met all of you together? I don't really remember, but I'm just trying to think in pieces. I really didn't have a problem. I know that we went to, like, a lot of family events where, like, it's not just you guys or your immediate family, but you also have your little aunties and stuff like that and their family and their kids too. So
- 3:31Melissa Shere Beek: It was aunts, cousins, grandmothers, grandmothers, grandmothers, auntie Joe, auntie Yeah. Oh, yeah. The Tantas . Yeah. Extended family.
- 3:38Mason Sharpe: Yeah. And we had for some reason, we always had these events and we I would see all of them and all you know, like 12 of them, all huddled up and they interview you
- 3:46Samantha Shere Sharpe: Yeah.
- 3:46Mason Sharpe: Until you get certain answers out of you and stuff like that. So I was bombarded. But I mean, the toughest one is your mother.
- 3:54Melissa Shere Beek: Absolutely. Like
- 3:55Mason Sharpe: what happened after we got married, but I can say that for later on.
- 3:58Melissa Shere Beek: Okay. Yeah. Please do. We want the dirt on that too. The first time I remember all of us being all in your business is when you had an accident
- 4:08Mason Sharpe: Oh, yeah.
- 4:08Melissa Shere Beek: With the elbow to the head. And I called a friend of mine to
- 4:13Samantha Shere Sharpe: What what oh. Can't say his name. I forgot his name the other night.
- 4:16Mason Sharpe: Yeah. I couldn't remember.
- 4:18Melissa Shere Beek: Cassel. Cassel. Yes. He was wonderful. John Cassel.
- 4:21Amazing. Love him. Right. So he came to, like, do plastic surgery on your face. And I just remember you were in the hospital bed and
- 4:29Jessica Shere Coggins: I don't think I was around.
- 4:31Melissa Shere Beek: Showed up. You weren't there? Oh, it was me and Sam and mom and, like, cousins and aunts and grandparents and your parents and everything like that. And I remember you were laughing because I think all of us were talking at the same time over your head, over your face, looking at your eyebrows.
- 4:46Mason Sharpe: Yeah. Couldn't really move around. And I just had everyone, like, behind me and on the side talking about giving different opinions. And it's, oh my god. Look how bad
- 4:53Melissa Shere Beek: it is. Well, your head was dented in.
- 4:56Mason Sharpe: Well, that's what happened. It was at University of Miami. Yeah. And I I was playing basketball and someone with a sharp elbow hit me right in the forehead. And I had I called Samantha.
- 5:04Melissa Shere Beek: And I said, Samantha,
- 5:06Mason Sharpe: I got a dent in my head. And she's like, stop playing around with me. Like, seriously, like I'm
- 5:11Melissa Shere Beek: like Was it bad? It was so bad. My friend was a dentist. Surgeon. He just sat in his face.
- 5:18Mason Sharpe: Fractured my front door.
- 5:19Melissa Shere Beek: That's the way you are. Okay? So, you
- 5:22Mason Sharpe: know, it makes sense.
- 5:23Melissa Shere Beek: I'm just kidding. I adore you.
- 5:24Mason Sharpe: I'm kidding. So I actually it was at Um's, like, health center. Yeah. And I was over at the front desk.
- 5:29Melissa Shere Beek: I had
- 5:29Mason Sharpe: a the wellness center, I had to hand the phone over to someone else to call Tell her that I have a dent in
- 5:34Melissa Shere Beek: my head. She's like, yeah.
- 5:37Mason Sharpe: He actually does. So
- 5:38Melissa Shere Beek: I really I'm
- 5:39Mason Sharpe: like, I had to go
- 5:40Jessica Shere Coggins: Were you
- 5:41Samantha Shere Sharpe: married at the time? No. We nobody got engaged right after because he was afraid he was gonna be we'll tell them the story.
- 5:46Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, thought you're gonna be deformed? Yeah. Didn't know what to expect.
- 5:50Mason Sharpe: Is that
- 5:50Melissa Shere Beek: why you proposed to her? No. She stuck around. No.
- 5:53Mason Sharpe: Because you do this operation and then afterwards, you don't
- 5:55Melissa Shere Beek: know what you're gonna do obligated because I brought a plastic surgeon and she got a surgical team.
- 6:00Samantha Shere Sharpe: Nobody else is gonna like him. Yes. That's why I said
- 6:03Melissa Shere Beek: that before.
- 6:03Mason Sharpe: So who knows?
- 6:04Samantha Shere Sharpe: He told his mother while he was in the hospital bed, go get a ring.
- 6:07Jessica Shere Coggins: He's like, he better go propose. .
- 6:09Mason Sharpe: I don't know if it turned out that way. Yes, I was under medication. I
- 6:13Melissa Shere Beek: He's bleeding. Okay.
- 6:15Samantha Shere Sharpe: Wait. Somebody was just like, we we just celebrated twenty six years.
- 6:18Melissa Shere Beek: I was just gonna say I was gonna wish you both. Last week was a happy anniversary. Twenty six. So that okay. So twenty six years in.
- 6:25How's it Oh, going twenty seven years How's it going now with you and the family?
- 6:29Mason Sharpe: Twenty seven. Well Well, it's been great. Mean, obviously, we've had a lot of changes now with our kids, like
- 6:35Melissa Shere Beek: No, don't.
- 6:36Mason Sharpe: Being shipped out of the house and stuff like that. But we were just we just had a lovely dinner and someone act and then, like, the waiter was asking us, like, what's the secret?
- 6:45Samantha Shere Sharpe: No. It was Bria who asked us.
- 6:47Mason Sharpe: No. The waiter asked. Bria was with us. Yeah. Yeah.
- 6:51And then Bria gave the answer for us.
- 6:53Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, okay. Oh, what did Bria say? Communication. Oh, communication compromise.
- 7:00Mason Sharpe: And compromise. Right? Yeah. But then the waiter was like, oh, that's that's really good to know. He says, like, the last person I asked this question to, like, how many years?
- 7:07And they said, like, twenty five. And he said, what's the secret? He goes, being in jail for twenty four years. Oh.
- 7:13Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, no. That was funny, though.
- 7:17Mason Sharpe: Just started using that. That's pretty good.
- 7:18Melissa Shere Beek: So what are your thoughts on the family now twenty six years later? What's that? The thoughts on the family now twenty six years later.
- 7:24Mason Sharpe: Oh, the expanded family and
- 7:25Samantha Shere Sharpe: some Yeah. Of The rest of us. Yeah.
- 7:28Mason Sharpe: No issues.
- 7:28Samantha Shere Sharpe: It's okay.
- 7:29Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. I mean
- 7:30Samantha Shere Sharpe: You love that.
- 7:31Jessica Shere Coggins: If he did, he's not gonna say them probably.
- 7:33Mason Sharpe: No. But, like, I'm like I've been married into your family, like, more than half my life. So like
- 7:39Melissa Shere Beek: He knows each of us.
- 7:40Mason Sharpe: He does
- 7:41Melissa Shere Beek: too. Okay. So what do you think about the sisters? Like, what have you learned from us?
- 7:44Samantha Shere Sharpe: Oh, god.
- 7:47Melissa Shere Beek: He takes it deep.
- 7:49Jessica Shere Coggins: He's not sure.
- 7:50Melissa Shere Beek: He's I
- 7:50Mason Sharpe: don't know where to go. Like, I don't know what like, what like, you and obviously, like, all three of you are so different.
- 7:56Melissa Shere Beek: And How?
- 7:57Mason Sharpe: You don't well No.
- 7:58Melissa Shere Beek: You don't know? She's just quitting But
- 8:01Mason Sharpe: like, Melissa, you're you're the one that's like more level headed, calm. Like, you've never see I've never seen you shout before.
- 8:08Samantha Shere Sharpe: Yeah. I don't yell.
- 8:09Mason Sharpe: You're right. Whereas Jessica, a little bit.
- 8:11Melissa Shere Beek: But your wife She's your wife is the screamer.
- 8:14Jessica Shere Coggins: Nobody's talking about us too as sister.
- 8:17Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, okay. Sorry. Go ahead. Sister in laws. Why don't you work from us?
- 8:21Samantha Shere Sharpe: Out laws.
- 8:22Jessica Shere Coggins: Keep going.
- 8:22Mason Sharpe: No. There's a lot there's a lot of drama and stuff like that. And there's always something to talk about. Like, you guys never had, like, a family meeting and it's just quiet. It just doesn't happen.
- 8:30Right?
- 8:31Jessica Shere Coggins: So it won't work that way.
- 8:33Mason Sharpe: One of you always has to have some issue that you need your sister's advice. And you and you and you always have different opinions, each of you though. So it's always good. So you get like both sides. So like when Samantha has an issue, you speak to you, to your mom, to Jessica.
- 8:48Melissa Shere Beek: Can't speak to mom.
- 8:48Mason Sharpe: All three of you have different issues.
- 8:53Melissa Shere Beek: Matthew just calls us for for issues dissolving.
- 8:56Mason Sharpe: Yeah.
- 8:56Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, god. That's so funny.
- 8:58Mason Sharpe: But Jessica's, like, changed, like, dramatically, you know. Like, because, like, when I met her, it was, like, when you were She still in was
- 9:03Melissa Shere Beek: a baby.
- 9:03Jessica Shere Coggins: Right. Yeah. Was young.
- 9:05Mason Sharpe: Yeah. No kids and stuff like that. And so, like, it's amazing to see how, like, your transformation and stuff like that.
- 9:11Jessica Shere Coggins: You. I take it it's a good one. No. It's a great It's very nice.
- 9:15Melissa Shere Beek: Okay. So then different from what the sisters taught you, we know Aiden exists, but having daughters, what have People don't know that Aiden exists, though. No. They don't. They don't.
- 9:25I'm talking about women, and I don't wanna leave out the boys. But, like, what have your daughters taught you? Oh, god.
- 9:31Mason Sharpe: Oh, man.
- 9:32Jessica Shere Coggins: And they're both so different. Oh, yeah.
- 9:35Mason Sharpe: Yeah. It's really tough to to describe it, like, It's right off the just they're unique. They're unique. They both started off, like, you know, loving drama. They were in Miami Children's Theater.
- 9:50Melissa Shere Beek: Right.
- 9:51Mason Sharpe: And one feeded off the other one. Stella started it, and then Bria followed her in her footsteps.
- 9:55Melissa Shere Beek: Right. Usually what the little sister does.
- 9:58Mason Sharpe: Yeah. And then, I think I don't know if it was when Stella turned 13 or it was before. Stella went into early retirement. She no longer she just said, I'm no longer in drama anymore.
- 10:07Melissa Shere Beek: Right.
- 10:08Mason Sharpe: And she went off and just relaxed and did her own thing and stuff like that. And then Bria found sports, which I was okay with. Because like with drama, it's I love them being in there, but I don't have like a real connection and stuff
- 10:21Melissa Shere Beek: like that.
- 10:22Mason Sharpe: That's why had to like take pictures to stay awake.
- 10:24Melissa Shere Beek: Right. Oh, the truth comes out. I love that. That's how you got into photography.
- 10:28Mason Sharpe: Focus on on the shows
- 10:29Melissa Shere Beek: is the fact The shows were pretty bad. Sorry. Oh, not the girls.
- 10:32Mason Sharpe: They're crazy. When you're
- 10:34Jessica Shere Coggins: watching I loved watching the girls.
- 10:36Melissa Shere Beek: Don't get me wrong.
- 10:37Mason Sharpe: And the funny ones are really good. Yeah. But then you get some that are very it's like watching Cats, like
- 10:42Melissa Shere Beek: Yes.
- 10:43Mason Sharpe: Samantha tried getting me to watch Cats. It it was one of the worst things I've ever seen.
- 10:47Melissa Shere Beek: She didn't make you watch that role in one two.
- 10:49Samantha Shere Sharpe: I went to it myself.
- 10:50Mason Sharpe: She went and went No.
- 10:52Melissa Shere Beek: Not Cats. This is another one.
- 10:54Jessica Shere Coggins: It's the sorry. She called me before she goes
- 11:00Melissa Shere Beek: No. No. No. No.
- 11:10Mason Sharpe: So but it's hard because each daughter wants you to feel like they're the most important. So there's always times where I'll have, like, Stella telling
- 11:21Samantha Shere Sharpe: me There was a time where Stella got ahold of his Instagram page Yeah. And basically went through them all. Brea, Brea, Brea, Brea, Brea, Brea, Brea, Brea, Where's me? Brea, Brea, Brea. Like, his in and and she was right.
- 11:35Oh, course. Instagram post was Brea.
- 11:39Melissa Shere Beek: Yes.
- 11:39Mason Sharpe: And she
- 11:40Samantha Shere Sharpe: was like
- 11:40Melissa Shere Beek: Is that because you're at the sports game?
- 11:41Samantha Shere Sharpe: Yes. And taking pictures to stay at. Which we tried to explain to her and we say to her
- 11:46Mason Sharpe: There's also another reason.
- 11:47Samantha Shere Sharpe: We say, Stella, it's not always about you. In fact, she wore that shirt for her 20 birthday.
- 11:53Jessica Shere Coggins: I loved it. She rocked it. She got it that day and wore it, and I loved it.
- 11:57Mason Sharpe: Yeah. I But but the reason why I had all these pictures of Brie and then of Stella Alright.
- 12:02Samantha Shere Sharpe: There is
- 12:02Melissa Shere Beek: a is question. Yeah.
- 12:03Mason Sharpe: Because I would take pictures of Stella, and every time I'd post it, she'd call me up right dad, take that down.
- 12:08Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. That's true
- 12:09Jessica Shere Coggins: too. That's It
- 12:11Mason Sharpe: is like restrictions. It's impossible to post photos of Stella. Bria was like, yeah, post whatever you want.
- 12:17Melissa Shere Beek: No. She's a little picky too.
- 12:18Mason Sharpe: But a lot
- 12:18Jessica Shere Coggins: of
- 12:18Melissa Shere Beek: people Not like Stella though.
- 12:20Mason Sharpe: So Stella basically put a ban on photos and then she complains, why don't you take pictures of me? Because she wants to be famous.
- 12:26Melissa Shere Beek: What have you learned from these two girls?
- 12:29Samantha Shere Sharpe: Oh, we're still learning.
- 12:30Mason Sharpe: Yeah. I don't think anything
- 12:31Melissa Shere Beek: That's a good answer.
- 12:32Mason Sharpe: Oh, wow. I think I learned also is, like, for Stella. Like, my brother, we used to get in fights all the time.
- 12:40Melissa Shere Beek: Uh-huh.
- 12:40Mason Sharpe: But we became best friends when I went away to college because I didn't see him as much.
- 12:44Melissa Shere Beek: Right. No. You have Shane. Is the relationship more?
- 12:47Mason Sharpe: But Stella, it was butting heads with her when she was living in a house in high school and stuff like that. Didn't get a lot of things with her.
- 12:53Samantha Shere Sharpe: They became best
- 12:54Jessica Shere Coggins: friends with someone.
- 12:55Mason Sharpe: But when she left for college, it was, you know, she changed.
- 12:59Melissa Shere Beek: Well, the dynamic and everything. And she matured. Yeah. She did.
- 13:03Mason Sharpe: And Shere was, like, unbelievably, like, so amazing.
- 13:07Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, that's nice.
- 13:08Mason Sharpe: Samantha went away with Bria and I was just there with Stella. And I'm thinking, okay, maybe I'll just let her do her thing. I'll be up in my room. I'll watch TV or whatever. She's like, oh, dad, come let's watch a show.
- 13:19And every day, we watch it was just
- 13:21Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, that's nice.
- 13:22Mason Sharpe: Really impressive.
- 13:23Melissa Shere Beek: It's cool when they get older. Yeah. It's it's good to hang.
- 13:26Mason Sharpe: Times where they say they're like, when you when you don't see someone on a daily basis and stuff like that, then you get along better or Yeah.
- 13:33Melissa Shere Beek: Because you appreciate what you have.
- 13:34Jessica Shere Coggins: Absent May summer. Yeah.
- 13:36Melissa Shere Beek: That's what I'm
- 13:36Mason Sharpe: looking for. See? I know your stuff. Glad So you're
- 13:40Melissa Shere Beek: I'm very I'm very smart. When we talk to each other and when we when we talk, there is no filter between all of us. Like, we say things as they are. Is there were you ever embarrassed about our candidness? Did you ever, like, come into our conversations and be like, holy shit.
- 13:56I cannot believe that they are talking about that.
- 13:58Jessica Shere Coggins: Oh, I probably say
- 13:59Mason Sharpe: a lot. I don't know. I have to I don't remember right now. I don't I'm trying to think Do you remember the Do you remember anything, Sam?
- 14:05Melissa Shere Beek: Yes. Do you remember the time we were at your house and the guys were watching a game? Because it was the old house. So we were all around the kitchen island, and the guys were sort of off to the side watching a game. And it was a soccer game, and one of the guy's things fell out of his pants.
- 14:22So we were watching it
- 14:23Jessica Shere Coggins: One of his things fell out of his pants?
- 14:25Samantha Shere Sharpe: His penis? That's the only thing I
- 14:26Melissa Shere Beek: took from all that. His penis fell out of his pants. Oh, it was? Right. Yeah.
- 14:30So we were watching it on repeat, laughing. And, like, all of us do you remember this?
- 14:35Samantha Shere Sharpe: I remember, but I don't know what house that was in there.
- 14:38Melissa Shere Beek: That was your old house. We the one that was closer to me. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
- 14:41I remember that happening. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. There you go.
- 14:43Do you remember that? No. No. He's just not even on the yeah. Yeah.
- 14:47Yeah. Oh, yeah. No. So anyway, I just remember laughing, and we're talking about like, and we talk about things. We talk about penises.
- 14:53We talk about, like, other body parts. We talk about, like, like, everything out there. And I and sometimes you guys would, like, walk through the room, and then just, like, I would see your eyeballs roll back and then you just, like, keep walking through or you'd go back to where the guys were hanging out. And I wondered if our candid disc just, like, threw you for a loop or you're so, like
- 15:11Mason Sharpe: I think the one thing that still amazes me is your shopping math skills, especially Samantha Okay.
- 15:16Melissa Shere Beek: I have that down here.
- 15:17Mason Sharpe: Yeah. And your mother.
- 15:18Melissa Shere Beek: Not mine, because I'm not a shopper.
- 15:20Mason Sharpe: Because I remember
- 15:21Melissa Shere Beek: Your wife.
- 15:21Mason Sharpe: Well, no. It was Samantha and and Ruthie.
- 15:24Melissa Shere Beek: Uh-huh.
- 15:25Mason Sharpe: They were at it was, like, Bell Harbor or something like that, and they were gonna buy something, and they had the the person who's ringing them up said, oh, you have a gift certificate or you have a credit of x amount. Do you wanna use it? And for, like, me, like, okay, if you don't use it now, you're gonna forget it. Use it now. They're like, oh, no.
- 15:41No. It's better to save it for a special occasion or when you have something more expensive. Yes. Yes. See?
- 15:47I don't get it.
- 15:48Melissa Shere Beek: I agree.
- 15:49Mason Sharpe: I would use it.
- 15:50Jessica Shere Coggins: But but like, maybe you want something bigger and you don't have the money at that point. So use it towards then, then you don't have to pay as much. Maybe they have more money at that point. No.
- 15:58Samantha Shere Sharpe: It's because you wanna buy a more expensive item, but you don't want him
- 16:01Melissa Shere Beek: to know how
- 16:01Samantha Shere Sharpe: expensive it is. So you take the credit so he thinks that you really bought a
- 16:05Jessica Shere Coggins: stuff. Coming from a true shopper.
- 16:06Melissa Shere Beek: This I want you to see in my notes. It says, so Sam when Sam gets into something, she gets into 200%. And that Sam is a super shopper and, like, a big time shopper. And Mason had to explain to her that just because you return things doesn't mean that you have more money to spend in the store.
- 16:24Mason Sharpe: Yeah. That actually happened over this weekend or on Monday when we were over in
- 16:28Melissa Shere Beek: Okay. One time Sam called me and she was really upset. And she started crying because she said she thought that you thought that she was having an affair with the UPS man.
- 16:37Mason Sharpe: Oh, yeah.
- 16:38Samantha Shere Sharpe: Did you really? Yes.
- 16:39Melissa Shere Beek: He did.
- 16:39Mason Sharpe: That's right. But the thing is
- 16:40Melissa Shere Beek: Because he delivered. I know. They stood every single day. Then she gave him a holiday gift. But she also gave a holiday gift to, like, the postal guy and, take She was sleeping with all of them.
- 16:51And then
- 16:52Mason Sharpe: I remember too, back in the day in the falls, like, when you take your kids, like, for Halloween
- 16:56Samantha Shere Sharpe: Oh, god. He still talks about this.
- 16:57Mason Sharpe: Yeah. When you go into the Halloween, you have to go to each store. Oh, jeez. Every store you go into, oh, hi, Samantha. Like, when they they work there and they know you by your first name, it's not a
- 17:06Melissa Shere Beek: good sign. That's a problem.
- 17:07Mason Sharpe: You know?
- 17:07Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. That's a Mason problem. Because your wife is the shopper. Oh, no. He did something really good the other day.
- 17:13Why? What'd you do, May? What did you do?
- 17:15Mason Sharpe: I don't know.
- 17:16Jessica Shere Coggins: He found out that Samantha had returned.
- 17:18Melissa Shere Beek: Oh. And so
- 17:20Jessica Shere Coggins: he drove her to make sure not to make sure, but keep her company. He
- 17:24Samantha Shere Sharpe: made sure.
- 17:25Melissa Shere Beek: I thought that was very smart of him. Do you know why he did that? Because like I just said because she won't go return it. No. No.
- 17:30No. She'll have credit in the store spend and then spend more.
- 17:34Samantha Shere Sharpe: No. It goes back to the card.
- 17:35Mason Sharpe: Normally, she's embarrassed.
- 17:36Melissa Shere Beek: It's not how she does it.
- 17:37Mason Sharpe: She's embarrassed about doing returns.
- 17:38Melissa Shere Beek: Are you killing it? No.
- 17:41Mason Sharpe: Well, that's your excuse that you wanted me to go to
- 17:43Melissa Shere Beek: the store. No. No. I want you to
- 17:44Samantha Shere Sharpe: go to the store because I had an online and an in store purchase. So if you did the in store while I did the online, we would get it done faster.
- 17:51Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. Oh, that's what we're going with.
- 17:53Mason Sharpe: That's where we're going.
- 17:53Melissa Shere Beek: But she didn't mention
- 17:55Mason Sharpe: which I don't mind returning because that way, at least I'm recouping some money. Right? But she thinks it's like an opportunity to start spending.
- 18:01Melissa Shere Beek: Not think she knows.
- 18:03Samantha Shere Sharpe: This is
- 18:03Melissa Shere Beek: just the place in the store.
- 18:05Jessica Shere Coggins: Yeah. I'm returning, but I also get.
- 18:07Samantha Shere Sharpe: And I wanna look around.
- 18:08Jessica Shere Coggins: Not me. I'm not a shopper.
- 18:09Melissa Shere Beek: But Mason's point is because you return it doesn't mean you now have credit in the store to buy more and get more things. Return it and get the money back on the credit card.
- 18:18Mason Sharpe: That's why I like returning it by myself because it get it it's temptation. She's like impulse buyer. So when she's around
- 18:25Melissa Shere Beek: something Next question. Yeah. Okay.
- 18:28Jessica Shere Coggins: You that's like your one thing though.
- 18:30Samantha Shere Sharpe: What? Shopping? Yeah. But
- 18:32Melissa Shere Beek: That's okay.
- 18:32Mason Sharpe: Other things too. But shopping is okay.
- 18:35Melissa Shere Beek: We'll get to that later. Okay. Something you still don't get about the three of us that still confuses you?
- 18:43Mason Sharpe: I'm not prepared for this. I don't but I don't get
- 18:47Melissa Shere Beek: It makes you think.
- 18:49Mason Sharpe: I'll have to get back to you
- 18:50Melissa Shere Beek: on that. Okay. Give me the
- 18:51Mason Sharpe: next question. I'm trying
- 18:52Melissa Shere Beek: to Something think that shows that our maiden name is showing up, like there's oh, that's definitely Shere sisters. That's like that's them.
- 18:58Samantha Shere Sharpe: But last night at back to school night, I used the Shere. Like, I'm one of the Shere girls.
- 19:02Melissa Shere Beek: Who'd you say that to? No. But when we're together and we behave a certain way that he definitely says, oh, that's them.
- 19:10Mason Sharpe: No. Because you guys are so much different than like, when I think of this year, it would be like your mother. Like,
- 19:15Melissa Shere Beek: how much are
- 19:15Mason Sharpe: you like your mother?
- 19:16Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, god.
- 19:16Mason Sharpe: And I don't see it.
- 19:17Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. Okay. We're all very different.
- 19:19Mason Sharpe: That's why I don't really it's not like, wow, that that reminds
- 19:21Melissa Shere Beek: me of us. Okay. Okay. So there's there's nothing that you just that you just don't get about us still?
- 19:27Mason Sharpe: Don't think he has He
- 19:29Samantha Shere Sharpe: has to get us. Like, that's it.
- 19:31Melissa Shere Beek: He just goes with the flow now. I feel. I feel like you do go with the
- 19:34Mason Sharpe: flow. Yeah. A lot. Like, I I was He
- 19:37Jessica Shere Coggins: wants to prove his point.
- 19:38Mason Sharpe: Because it's my anniversary or our anniversary is
- 19:40Melissa Shere Beek: recently My anniversary is it's your anniversary, man.
- 19:44Mason Sharpe: And it's also football season, so I have a nice little story that I had a connection about. And it's dealing with shopping.
- 19:49Melissa Shere Beek: Okay. So I can blend it all in.
- 19:52Samantha Shere Sharpe: He is really good with analogies, I'm not sure how where
- 19:55Melissa Shere Beek: this one's gonna go. It's gonna be good.
- 19:57Mason Sharpe: So shortly after we got married we got married, obviously, in September. Then, you know, a month later, it's football season.
- 20:03Melissa Shere Beek: Mhmm.
- 20:03Mason Sharpe: So I'm okay with that. They like, you know, on weekends Who's today?
- 20:08Samantha Shere Sharpe: You. Me.
- 20:09Mason Sharpe: Yeah. No. It was
- 20:10Melissa Shere Beek: My mother.
- 20:11Mason Sharpe: On the weekends, apparently, it's meant for shopping, according to her mom and Samantha. So on on weekends for me, Saturdays is college football and Sundays is pro football. So I would stay home. And then apparently, I don't know, out in your family, because your dad used to do it too, that if the women go shopping, the men have to join them.
- 20:29Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. I'm not a shopper.
- 20:30Mason Sharpe: Didn't understand that. Doesn't happen. So Ruthie and Samantha explained to me, they said, no, when we shop, we need you to go. And I'm like, well, I got football. And she's like, no, I need you to go.
- 20:42So I'm forced, because I don't wanna be a bad person. So I go
- 20:47Jessica Shere Coggins: I feel like shopping he forced into a lot of things.
- 20:48Samantha Shere Sharpe: I think
- 20:49Melissa Shere Beek: so too.
- 20:49Mason Sharpe: And then I decided, okay, what I'm gonna be is, is gonna be the biggest pain, shopping, and complaining the whole time. And then at the end of
- 20:56Melissa Shere Beek: I'll the trip it this way, they don't want you anymore.
- 20:57Mason Sharpe: Yeah. And Ruthie's like, you are the horrible shopper. I do not want you with us anymore. You're only the kids. So for because before she was telling me, she's like, the weekends are my shopping.
- 21:07It is not fair for you to take up a Saturday and a Sunday for football.
- 21:11Melissa Shere Beek: She said this shit.
- 21:12Samantha Shere Sharpe: Yeah. She was like against
- 21:14Melissa Shere Beek: She would've never pulled this shit with
- 21:16Samantha Shere Sharpe: my husband. To pick one or the other.
- 21:18Mason Sharpe: Yeah. Either you're a college fan or a pool fan. You can't both. You can't be Saturday or Sunday. You need to it's one or the other.
- 21:25Melissa Shere Beek: That's so funny.
- 21:26Mason Sharpe: So I had to ruin her shopping experience, and then I got to stay home on the weekends.
- 21:30Melissa Shere Beek: Goal and see. Not footballing. Yeah.
- 21:32Samantha Shere Sharpe: Goal and see. Walks out before he goes to work explaining,
- 21:35Melissa Shere Beek: I got football on tonight. I'm like, really? It's so exciting for them.
- 21:38Samantha Shere Sharpe: My god. It's every
- 21:39Melissa Shere Beek: single day. Yeah. They look forward to it.
- 21:40Mason Sharpe: They are spreading it out.
- 21:41Melissa Shere Beek: My next question was gonna be how do you handle your favorite mother-in-law? Oh, jeez. But that was a prime example.
- 21:48Mason Sharpe: Yeah. No.
- 21:48Melissa Shere Beek: That was an old example. Okay. Is there a new example?
- 21:51Mason Sharpe: It's changed over time and stuff like that. I guess, before, we used to go to a lot more family events and stuff like that. So we're always around and
- 21:57Melissa Shere Beek: Right.
- 21:57Mason Sharpe: And and more issues. But now with our kids gone Yeah. And only, you know, one kid remaining,
- 22:02Melissa Shere Beek: it's Yeah. The vibe changed a little. Yeah. Yeah. Think I mean, there's less of us getting together.
- 22:08No. But between him and mom, regarding your question. Okay. Think Mason now, like,
- 22:14Samantha Shere Sharpe: Dad's knows to play a not here, so it's like, you know, it's different.
- 22:21Mason Sharpe: The one thing I do know that I remember that is a problem for me that I had to get used to
- 22:25Samantha Shere Sharpe: Is it early dinners?
- 22:26Mason Sharpe: No. It's the leaving the dinners part.
- 22:28Jessica Shere Coggins: Oh, takes forever. Perfect.
- 22:30Melissa Shere Beek: That's your wife.
- 22:31Mason Sharpe: Yeah. She specializes in that.
- 22:32Jessica Shere Coggins: She talks to everyone.
- 22:34Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. Jessica says, I'm out. They she walks right through the front door. I'm out. She doesn't say anything.
- 22:40And you don't even know she's left until thirty minutes later.
- 22:43Mason Sharpe: Yeah. No. I have to give her a twenty minute head start to start seeing her gossip.
- 22:46Melissa Shere Beek: Probably, like,
- 22:46Jessica Shere Coggins: a half an hour.
- 22:47Melissa Shere Beek: I was gonna say a
- 22:47Samantha Shere Sharpe: little longer.
- 22:48Jessica Shere Coggins: And if you're at a public event, forget it. You gotta give her, like, an hour warning.
- 22:50Melissa Shere Beek: You should've just taken a separate card.
- 22:52Jessica Shere Coggins: You were?
- 22:53Mason Sharpe: I walked out.
- 22:55Melissa Shere Beek: Did? Yeah. I'm so proud of you.
- 22:56Samantha Shere Sharpe: Was that good? Last night when we left back to school night, I I walked right I really did not
- 23:01Melissa Shere Beek: stop. Yeah.
- 23:01Mason Sharpe: Was that accidental or unperfect?
- 23:03Melissa Shere Beek: No. I was just
- 23:04Samantha Shere Sharpe: getting out of there.
- 23:06Jessica Shere Coggins: Was good. She's like, bitch, I'm gone. Okay.
- 23:08Melissa Shere Beek: So what she pulled a Jessica. Yeah. So we're talking about, like, what's normal and not normal. I have something we're gonna do in a minute. But my last question to you specifically is, like, what what is normal in your house that you never thought would be if you heard somebody else say it?
- 23:21Oh, there must be a lot. Sorry.
- 23:23Mason Sharpe: Oh. Sandy, anything? I'm trying to think of
- 23:25Melissa Shere Beek: Why you always refer to her to
- 23:26Mason Sharpe: I'm to remember, like, what
- 23:28Melissa Shere Beek: because he knows I'm in charge of the house.
- 23:30Mason Sharpe: But still, they all love watching the reality TV shows and
- 23:33Melissa Shere Beek: Okay.
- 23:34Mason Sharpe: I just don't get it. Like, there's a couple. Fine.
- 23:37Melissa Shere Beek: But But I thought you liked the reality shows too.
- 23:39Mason Sharpe: Some. But they're they're extremes, especially, like, Stella with her
- 23:43Samantha Shere Sharpe: Love Island.
- 23:44Mason Sharpe: Love Island.
- 23:44Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, that shit's ridiculous. Right.
- 23:46Jessica Shere Coggins: Yeah. My guy doesn't like reality shows either. I'll watch them. He's the
- 23:50Melissa Shere Beek: same way. Like, he just
- 23:51Jessica Shere Coggins: doesn't understand the point of it.
- 23:52Melissa Shere Beek: I'm not a reality show person either. I watch Survivor and I watch
- 23:56Jessica Shere Coggins: That's reality. Someone's
- 23:58Melissa Shere Beek: leg got chopped off. I the in the other one, then in not the American one. But Oh. But no. That Love Island shit and stuff like that
- 24:07Jessica Shere Coggins: I love
- 24:07Melissa Shere Beek: it. Talking like the psychological aspects of things. I like Dancing With The Stars though too. So those are two realities. Yeah.
- 24:12But I'm And the Great British Bake Off. Those are the only three realities.
- 24:15Mason Sharpe: But maybe I should take it back. The reality shows are better because before that, she used to watch the ones about like the how the women kill their husbands with knives and
- 24:21Melissa Shere Beek: stuff those are the best.
- 24:22Mason Sharpe: Snap. Right? So this is probably safer.
- 24:24Jessica Shere Coggins: Oh, Snap was good, but the episodes weren't long enough.
- 24:27Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, my god. I don't I've never even heard of that.
- 24:29Samantha Shere Sharpe: Oh, yeah. Those are women who kill.
- 24:31Jessica Shere Coggins: It's woman it's like their boyfriend
- 24:33Melissa Shere Beek: and partner. What's going on in your house? No. Why is she a much Milo or Mason?
- 24:38Mason Sharpe: It's a reality show or better.
- 24:39Samantha Shere Sharpe: Wait. What was the question? I forgot what the question was.
- 24:41Melissa Shere Beek: Like, what's normal in your house that you would never think if you heard somebody say, like, that shit goes on? Like
- 24:47Jessica Shere Coggins: Oh my god. I'm sure it's probably so many I throughout the
- 24:49Melissa Shere Beek: don't think. Okay. So we have a little game we're gonna play with you. It's about, like, what's normal and what's not normal in your house. I
- 24:57Samantha Shere Sharpe: have mine here.
- 24:59Melissa Shere Beek: You have yours. Okay. So the first question is Wait.
- 25:02Samantha Shere Sharpe: Is this this?
- 25:02Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. Yeah. Is this this? Is this this?
- 25:06Mason Sharpe: I thought we're all having conversation. I didn't know it was all team up, but
- 25:08Jessica Shere Coggins: you guys seem No.
- 25:09Melissa Shere Beek: We're not teaming up against you, but we're answering these questions with you and you can answer them too. But we're gonna vote.
- 25:15Mason Sharpe: Okay.
- 25:17Melissa Shere Beek: Well, I'm gonna say something and you're we're gonna say if it's a Sammy situation, like something your wife would do or if it's a Mason move or something you would do. Bubba, you can keep talking. Oh, okay. Wait. Did it erase?
- 25:28Jessica Shere Coggins: Yeah. Of course, it did.
- 25:29Melissa Shere Beek: I know. Go for they're not professionally done by Samantha.
- 25:32Mason Sharpe: Who made these?
- 25:33Melissa Shere Beek: I made these because your wife didn't answer the phone for the last month about it. So
- 25:39Mason Sharpe: You only gave her a month to do this?
- 25:40Jessica Shere Coggins: I only gave her month to
- 25:42Melissa Shere Beek: come up with a paddle.
- 25:43Samantha Shere Sharpe: I think I was, like, in denial. You were actually coming on this.
- 25:46Melissa Shere Beek: I think she was hoping that you weren't showing, so she didn't have to make the paddles. So you got the dry erase board version. You got the you That's okay.
- 25:53Jessica Shere Coggins: These are cute.
- 25:53Melissa Shere Beek: They're okay. I figured we could use these in a in another time. I just wait. Okay. Yeah.
- 25:58Having a 100 candles stashed hidden all around the house.
- 26:01Jessica Shere Coggins: That's Sammy.
- 26:02Mason Sharpe: Oh, yeah. 100 That's me. You don't even need my answer. Like, that's Autumn. That I don't get either because we we
- 26:09Samantha Shere Sharpe: Oh, she has some to
- 26:10Melissa Shere Beek: pick up around the corner.
- 26:11Mason Sharpe: But when we moved
- 26:12Melissa Shere Beek: to the new house, Do you really? Yes. Yes. Oh, my god. Shit, Sam.
- 26:16Samantha Shere Sharpe: I ordered them before the summer. That's what she was calling soy delicious.
- 26:20Mason Sharpe: But you know Oh,
- 26:20Melissa Shere Beek: I thought you were doing it for, like, some event you were having. I didn't know you needed more
- 26:23Samantha Shere Sharpe: for yourself. Big sale and I ordered
- 26:25Mason Sharpe: it and I didn't
- 26:26Melissa Shere Beek: get shipping.
- 26:26Mason Sharpe: This guy
- 26:26Melissa Shere Beek: was a
- 26:27Jessica Shere Coggins: sale. You
- 26:27Samantha Shere Sharpe: I saved you on shipping. I said I would pick it up, but I can't pick it up.
- 26:31Melissa Shere Beek: This is like six months later.
- 26:32Mason Sharpe: When we moved into the new house, one of things we got was Aroma three sixty. So we have the scent throughout the whole house.
- 26:37Melissa Shere Beek: I know. I know.
- 26:38Mason Sharpe: You don't need a candle because you have the scent. I'm paying for that.
- 26:41Melissa Shere Beek: She needs the candles. It's still Yeah.
- 26:43Jessica Shere Coggins: But it's not on. I was in
- 26:44Melissa Shere Beek: the other day. It wasn't on. By only
- 26:45Mason Sharpe: a certain time.
- 26:46Samantha Shere Sharpe: Picked it up yesterday.
- 26:47Melissa Shere Beek: It's now. Yeah.
- 26:49Mason Sharpe: But, yeah, she stores it's just like like China. Like, you buy it just to store it.
- 26:53Jessica Shere Coggins: That's like what mommy used to do.
- 26:55Melissa Shere Beek: She used to buy or get
- 26:57Jessica Shere Coggins: things and then give them back.
- 26:59Mason Sharpe: And then when she lights it, she likes to light it and leave it on forever.
- 27:04Melissa Shere Beek: And when she leaves the house, it's still on.
- 27:05Mason Sharpe: It stays stays on.
- 27:06Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. That's so dangerous.
- 27:07Mason Sharpe: And if I blow it out Oh my god. How can
- 27:08Melissa Shere Beek: you When blow it you had cats But did you blow it out? I would smell smoke in your house because there were cats would go by and they would burn their tails.
- 27:16Mason Sharpe: Yeah. That's why they call it cat smoky.
- 27:18Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. Speaking of China, I'm giggling my ass off because when you went and and I guess you must have been forced to go when you guys were engaged for Oh, god. My god. Remember
- 27:29Samantha Shere Sharpe: didn't complain.
- 27:30Melissa Shere Beek: Maybe now I understand why you complained. Because Samantha came home and was so upset that the Versace plates that she wanted, you would not allow because it had
- 27:39Samantha Shere Sharpe: Anna. Bed bugs.
- 27:41Melissa Shere Beek: It had a butterfly on it, and you didn't wanna eat on a plate that had bugs on it. I said to you you're not gonna see that. I said to you, you're never gonna see the butterfly on the Versace plate because there'll be food on the plate. But now I understand the reason you were doing those plates? She still has them.
- 27:58But now, I'm thinking, like, maybe you did this so that you could get out of shopping for the rest of your life.
- 28:03Mason Sharpe: No. I wanna I just wanna correct you. Oh. It's not about that the bugs that don't worry about it because there'll be food on the plate. No.
- 28:10Those plates are stayed in the in the container. Yeah.
- 28:14Jessica Shere Coggins: That's what happens when you use them.
- 28:16Melissa Shere Beek: You were against them from day one.
- 28:17Mason Sharpe: Though, what's the point? But the thing is now I wanna tell people, when you pick out China, do not base it on what the plates look like. Base it on what the boxes look like, because that's all you're gonna see.
- 28:27Melissa Shere Beek: I know. That's true though. That's very true. You're supposed to use it. You should
- 28:32Jessica Shere Coggins: use it. When? And you should use it every day. Otherwise, it just sits there.
- 28:36Mason Sharpe: I'll try even using a regular, like, ceramic ones.
- 28:38Samantha Shere Sharpe: She does
- 28:38Mason Sharpe: And she said, no. No. We wanna
- 28:39Melissa Shere Beek: use Yeah. But you gotta use
- 28:40Samantha Shere Sharpe: them up. Otherwise, they sit like that. If I don't like to put things in the dishwasher.
- 28:44Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, god. Love paper. Plastic cups and paper. No. I have gorgeous plates I use every day.
- 28:49I love There's too many transactions in my house.
- 28:52Jessica Shere Coggins: Like, I need it easy.
- 28:52Melissa Shere Beek: This dishwasher, That's super easy. Nah. Don't think I
- 28:56Samantha Shere Sharpe: ever turned mine on once.
- 28:58Melissa Shere Beek: Oh my For real? You know what? Okay. When multiple u n UPS trucks deliver thousands of print apple apples. Sam?
- 29:07Mason Sharpe: Those apples.
- 29:08Melissa Shere Beek: Get off the
- 29:08Mason Sharpe: wanna job. Tell the story, Sam?
- 29:09Melissa Shere Beek: Sammy Joe.
- 29:10Samantha Shere Sharpe: That was me, for sure. But you tell that story.
- 29:13Mason Sharpe: I just remember she she had this thing like, when she buys something, she thinks you you have to get a lot. Otherwise, it doesn't count. So she bought, what, like a box or two Oh my other brand apples on QVC. Uh-huh. I didn't even know QVC.
- 29:26No one goes to didn't know
- 29:27Melissa Shere Beek: that either.
- 29:28Mason Sharpe: But she finds a way.
- 29:29Melissa Shere Beek: This is
- 29:29Samantha Shere Sharpe: this is the best story.
- 29:31Melissa Shere Beek: Multiply it.
- 29:32Mason Sharpe: So she buys a box And I guess I come home, and I see a UPS driver pull up.
- 29:36Jessica Shere Coggins: The one she's having an affair with.
- 29:39Mason Sharpe: And he brings out
- 29:41Samantha Shere Sharpe: They made a mistake. QVC, for some
- 29:43Mason Sharpe: reason Supposedly
- 29:44Melissa Shere Beek: a mistake.
- 29:45Jessica Shere Coggins: Supposedly. It could still be on the credit card.
- 29:47Samantha Shere Sharpe: A one. They did a 100. So basically, they delivered 100 boxes filled
- 29:54Mason Sharpe: with Times 10.
- 29:55Samantha Shere Sharpe: Wait. Filled with 10 apples.
- 29:56Melissa Shere Beek: 10 apples in each box. Yeah. Let's do
- 29:59Samantha Shere Sharpe: the math, guys. And they had to deliver them because they're perishable.
- 30:03Melissa Shere Beek: Right.
- 30:03Samantha Shere Sharpe: So sending it back, it would've been gone in the garbage. So I just was like, the the UPS guy literally backed the truck in.
- 30:11Mason Sharpe: No. No. Don't say UPS guy. Guys.
- 30:13Jessica Shere Coggins: There was several trucks.
- 30:15Melissa Shere Beek: Several There in the came Several trucks. Yes.
- 30:19Samantha Shere Sharpe: And then Draw Delivery men. But they were in our they were stacked in
- 30:23Melissa Shere Beek: our and I had, like
- 30:25Samantha Shere Sharpe: I had to get rid of them in
- 30:26Melissa Shere Beek: a car.
- 30:26Jessica Shere Coggins: She was calling. Yeah.
- 30:27Melissa Shere Beek: I'm calling. Right? Field Day. We loved them.
- 30:30Samantha Shere Sharpe: Yeah. That was that was great.
- 30:31Melissa Shere Beek: Didn't they even give it to the UPS guy? I did. I gave him, like,
- 30:34Mason Sharpe: few bucks. Yeah. Yeah. We had neighbors we never met.
- 30:36Melissa Shere Beek: I sent them over.
- 30:37Jessica Shere Coggins: Welcome to the neighborhood.
- 30:38Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. Yeah. There was
- 30:39Samantha Shere Sharpe: an error on QVC. They put in
- 30:41Melissa Shere Beek: 100. I didn't get charged 100.
- 30:43Mason Sharpe: That's what I was worried about.
- 30:44Melissa Shere Beek: Said, oh, don't worry about it. Yeah. Sure do that, though? Okay. Thanking everybody for coming to an event when it wasn't their event.
- 30:51MASON. MASON, MASON for sure. I always throw out of where we are. Thank you for coming. Yeah.
- 30:59He always faces it proudly too. He does. Exactly. Like, he's hosted the event. Yeah.
- 31:04Okay. Having a barge in Venice cart off your purchases. Having what? A barge? It's gotta be Sam.
- 31:11Samantha. Yeah. I didn't know.
- 31:12Mason Sharpe: No. So when we
- 31:13Melissa Shere Beek: were over in Venice picture.
- 31:15Mason Sharpe: It said, like, the name of the boat. It said, like, Samantha or
- 31:19Melissa Shere Beek: Sammy. Or something.
- 31:20Mason Sharpe: Something like that. I'm like, oh my god. You have
- 31:22Melissa Shere Beek: a 4,000

- 31:33Melissa Shere Beek: Ignoring your partner's animal allergies for over fifteen years until the animals pass?
- 31:40Jessica Shere Coggins: Sammy. Sammy.
- 31:41Melissa Shere Beek: The Sammy situation. Because you didn't care that he
- 31:43Jessica Shere Coggins: was allergic to the cats.
- 31:44Melissa Shere Beek: He was allergic to your cat.
- 31:45Samantha Shere Sharpe: Was allergic to the cats, people.
- 31:47Melissa Shere Beek: He just said that, I think.
- 31:48Samantha Shere Sharpe: I don't
- 31:49Melissa Shere Beek: Did you just
- 31:49Samantha Shere Sharpe: say that?
- 31:50Melissa Shere Beek: Yes. I think he paid somebody off.
- 31:52Mason Sharpe: I thought I was.
- 31:54Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, man. I think
- 31:55Mason Sharpe: he so I I went to the
- 31:58Melissa Shere Beek: The cockroaches.
- 31:59Mason Sharpe: Yeah. Cockroach dander, they said.
- 32:00Samantha Shere Sharpe: That's what he was allergic to.
- 32:02Mason Sharpe: I'm like, come on.
- 32:03Melissa Shere Beek: All these years, I thought you were allergic to the cats.
- 32:06Mason Sharpe: Oh, but I can't stand them. The the
- 32:07Melissa Shere Beek: fur everywhere? Mm-mm.
- 32:09Mason Sharpe: Oh. Oh my god. And then you bring him to, like, the vet. I don't know if your your fans I hate are huge fans, that but
- 32:15Samantha Shere Sharpe: they shit and say
- 32:16Mason Sharpe: I'm like, this is dog. No.
- 32:17Melissa Shere Beek: It's not a dog's pee in your house.
- 32:19Jessica Shere Coggins: Yeah. But the cat pee is is another level. It smells terrible. Yeah.
- 32:23Melissa Shere Beek: Dog pees
- 32:23Mason Sharpe: in it. And she wouldn't clean the the cat litter box.
- 32:27Melissa Shere Beek: It's just disaster. Oh. That's pretty gross. Samantha. Okay.
- 32:31Waiting hours in line at places for the latest Insta's trend. I'm gonna say it's both of them.
- 32:37Mason Sharpe: No. No.
- 32:38Melissa Shere Beek: No. It's MASON. I'm It's
- 32:39Jessica Shere Coggins: MASON. There's a flippable phone that's coming out. IPhone, he's gonna be the first in line.
- 32:46Melissa Shere Beek: Don't kid yourself. Like, all those stupid ice cream places or this one that has the float or the latest whatever. Feel like it's full of shopping. Yeah.
- 32:54Mason Sharpe: But I do it all online. I never go into she's the one that like, for the for the food stuff, she waits in line. If you're if it's online
- 33:02Melissa Shere Beek: gonna say both of you. I'm gonna say both of you. Sam, what's your vote?

- 33:23Jessica Shere Coggins: and you said It's that's so bad. It's like three hours That's
- 33:25Samantha Shere Sharpe: our number one fight. No joke. That, and finding a parking spot. Leaving to God. Go to the airport, he becomes We all do.
- 33:35Melissa Shere Beek: No. Ask him. It's my husband. Not swear God.
- 33:39Samantha Shere Sharpe: You're You're
- 33:41Jessica Shere Coggins: Probably. Half You're the parties, like, were still setting up when the party was going on.
- 33:45Melissa Shere Beek: People have arrived and you are Or still just cooking up a list. And the food will be out.
- 33:50Samantha Shere Sharpe: Yes. But going to the airport, he becomes
- 33:53Melissa Shere Beek: because you don't pack
- 33:54Jessica Shere Coggins: till, like, three hours before.
- 33:56Mason Sharpe: And she taught Stella the same thing.
- 33:59Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, no. That was
- 34:00Mason Sharpe: At least I have Brie on my side and and Aiden, he just gives up.
- 34:03Melissa Shere Beek: He's I don't wanna go. Aiden would say that don't wanna go. He's probably I just remember Aiden giving up at one. I think it was outside. We were in an airport.
- 34:11It was Hawaii, I think. And he was just like, that's it. He He's not gave going to Mexico. And he walked barefoot through the thing, because he was just like, I have given up on my people. That was it.
- 34:21No. I don't blame him. That stresses me the fuck out. It's horrible. When she call we I call to say, like, have a safe trip or whatever, and she's like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 34:30I go, what? And she's like, oh, I gotta pack. I gotta Samantha, your plane leaves in an hour and a half.
- 34:35Samantha Shere Sharpe: Yeah, yeah. It'll be fine.
- 34:36Jessica Shere Coggins: It'll be we would be together on Fridays,
- 34:38Melissa Shere Beek: and she was leading leaving, like, at a 05:00 play. And she was like, I'm not packed at all. It's 12:15. Oh, see. No.
- 34:43That shit that's okay. Sorry. I get it, Mason. Okay. Announcing that the dogs have happy peas.
- 34:50It's Mason.
- 34:51Jessica Shere Coggins: Is it? It's Mason. Okay. Wasn't sure.
- 34:53Melissa Shere Beek: It's Mason.
- 34:53Mason Sharpe: Don't know about that. But if you It's Mason.
- 34:56Melissa Shere Beek: Happy pee? Yeah.
- 34:57Mason Sharpe: Right. I mentioned that
- 34:58Samantha Shere Sharpe: That was Izzy. We don't have that anymore.
- 35:00Melissa Shere Beek: Aw. You have other type of pee in your house. More pee in your house now. Have pee. Okay.
- 35:05Puppy pee everywhere. I can't. Okay. Blaming a family trait on the mother in law's third cousin twice removed. It's definitely MASON.
- 35:15It's MASON. No. No. No. It's not
- 35:18Mason Sharpe: I didn't start it. It was your mom.
- 35:19Melissa Shere Beek: It's TikTok.
- 35:22Mason Sharpe: Stella is lefty. And so how does she become lefty? And I learned. I because I didn't realize it. Is that your mom's distant second cousin's friend
- 35:31Melissa Shere Beek: was And
- 35:32Mason Sharpe: that's how
- 35:33Melissa Shere Beek: she got it.
- 35:33Mason Sharpe: I had no idea. I thought it was me because I was lefty.
- 35:36Melissa Shere Beek: So now every time there's a trait, he's like But it's not from him. Third woman
- 35:40Mason Sharpe: Yep. Who put it Yeah.
- 35:41Melissa Shere Beek: Okay. Because we want you to get the experience of a full SISTER SESSION.
- 35:46Samantha Shere Sharpe: Jeez. These are very oh, this is it for this?
- 35:48Melissa Shere Beek: That's it for that. Oh, that was fun. Good question. Now, that's it for the game. Now, we're going to the Beek Bag Okay.
- 35:54Where we pick random quickie questions and you have to answer. And you have to answer.
- 35:58Jessica Shere Coggins: You have
- 35:59Melissa Shere Beek: to answer. So these are not your area like I know it. She does. See? Your wife cheats, just so you know.
- 36:06Mason Sharpe: What's that?
- 36:06Melissa Shere Beek: Your wife cheats, just so you know. I don't cheat. You do. You put them back in or hide them in the couch cushion.
- 36:14Jessica Shere Coggins: She just feels around.
- 36:14Melissa Shere Beek: Let Mason start the first one. He's the guest. Your honor. There's a lot in there again.
- 36:21Samantha Shere Sharpe: I know.
- 36:22Melissa Shere Beek: It there's I didn't put any new ones in.
- 36:24Samantha Shere Sharpe: Yeah. There has to be.
- 36:25Melissa Shere Beek: But there are thousands
- 36:25Samantha Shere Sharpe: in there.
- 36:26Mason Sharpe: It's like a fortune cookie. Let's see.
- 36:27Melissa Shere Beek: Fortune cookie.
- 36:29Mason Sharpe: I don't bring my glasses.
- 36:30Jessica Shere Coggins: But we all don't answer it.
- 36:31Melissa Shere Beek: He does. And We can all answer it. I thought it would take a long time to get Go ahead. Whatever you want. Answer it.
- 36:36You can be I
- 36:37Mason Sharpe: don't I don't even know the answer. Someone you never got to thank.
- 36:41Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, god. That's hard.
- 36:42Samantha Shere Sharpe: Okay. Pick another one.
- 36:44Jessica Shere Coggins: Yeah. You can pick
- 36:44Melissa Shere Beek: another one. You'll pull a Sammy Joe. Pass that one. Oh, put that one back in because I know my answer, but we're not gonna go there. Who?
- 36:51Say it. Daddy. Oh, I think we had this question before. Oh, Hey, Mason. I know.
- 36:55You can sign. They're coming.
- 36:56Mason Sharpe: No. Putting before.
- 36:58Jessica Shere Coggins: Okay. No. I'm
- 37:04Samantha Shere Sharpe: Now you know why I'm married to him. He's reading them before he
- 37:07Melissa Shere Beek: he's thinking about
- 37:08Mason Sharpe: He has
- 37:08Melissa Shere Beek: to read them before.
- 37:09Mason Sharpe: So it's good. Yeah.
- 37:10Melissa Shere Beek: I was like Oh, no.
- 37:11Samantha Shere Sharpe: I thought I was gonna read it out loud.
- 37:12Melissa Shere Beek: I thought she thought
- 37:12Mason Sharpe: you would
- 37:13Melissa Shere Beek: get it out. No.
- 37:13Mason Sharpe: So it says art or artist you gravitate to or are inspired by.
- 37:18Samantha Shere Sharpe: I know this one. Himself? No. Oh, no. It could go two ways.
- 37:23Melissa Shere Beek: Pass that one to me. Don't put it back in.
- 37:26Samantha Shere Sharpe: Peter Lick. Pass some more. Peter Lick. I know it's gonna be Peter Lick.
- 37:29Mason Sharpe: Peter Lick is something that I don't know if you guys know. Yeah. A photographer that that goes around different places and takes great, like, landscape photos and stuff like that. So, I mean, I don't I don't, like, look at his and then say, yeah, fine, but I I like that type. Then I just found, like, I've gone places recently.
- 37:45Samantha Shere Sharpe: Uh-huh. And he's been, like,
- 37:47Mason Sharpe: second none this. Like, even when when we were over in Big Sur, I took a picture of it, and then when I posted it that same day, Peter Lick posted like the same location.
- 37:56Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, I saw that actually. It's a conspiracy.
- 37:58Mason Sharpe: We don't know what's
- 37:59Melissa Shere Beek: going And he's copying you. That's cool.
- 38:01Mason Sharpe: And like when we were just over in Utah and then I saw he had photos, like, when I was planning the trip.
- 38:06Melissa Shere Beek: Right.
- 38:07Mason Sharpe: He had photos there. So it similar locations.
- 38:09Melissa Shere Beek: Where's your next trip?
- 38:11Mason Sharpe: I don't know. I was trying to think you have any suggestions?
- 38:14Melissa Shere Beek: Where do you want to to Australia. You guys haven't been there.
- 38:17Mason Sharpe: Yeah.
- 38:18Samantha Shere Sharpe: India. Yeah.
- 38:19Mason Sharpe: Well, I would love to go to India, but maybe next year, something like that.
- 38:23Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, but the summer.
- 38:24Mason Sharpe: No. That no. You can't. Because that's the problem.
- 38:26Melissa Shere Beek: Because when
- 38:26Mason Sharpe: school is out, it's monsoon season. You can't do it. But when we have all our kids deported, we don't have to
- 38:32Melissa Shere Beek: worry about Soon. I know. Deported. That's terrible. Don't say that.
- 38:38Mason Sharpe: Yeah. What what do you wanna say?
- 38:39Jessica Shere Coggins: I sent you
- 38:40Mason Sharpe: a ship out
- 38:41Melissa Shere Beek: Who's that?
- 38:43Samantha Shere Sharpe: What's another artist
- 38:45Melissa Shere Beek: But but but okay.
- 38:47Mason Sharpe: You tell me who?
- 38:48Melissa Shere Beek: I thought my dad But that's not bad. Oh, yeah. My dad
- 38:50Mason Sharpe: But that was because he's not referring to that. Photography.
- 38:53Samantha Shere Sharpe: Daddy inspires him to photography.
- 38:55Mason Sharpe: Yeah. So when we used do trips, he would take pictures and then I sort of, like, took the lead Yeah. After him and followed in his footsteps Yeah. Just like that. And it's nice because when I take the pictures, especially when we do, like, our family trips
- 39:07Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah.
- 39:07Mason Sharpe: That's it brings some
- 39:08Melissa Shere Beek: good memories. Insanity. The one How
- 39:10Samantha Shere Sharpe: do you survive picking his nose in front of all of us.
- 39:13Melissa Shere Beek: I took that. You took that one? I took that one. That one was great. And I posted it, and I Yeah.
- 39:18Said, the best
- 39:20Jessica Shere Coggins: That one was great.
- 39:21Melissa Shere Beek: Wait. No. Okay. So we didn't even get into family trips.
- 39:25Samantha Shere Sharpe: Oh, let's do that, Spec.
- 39:26Melissa Shere Beek: Before we before we continue with the bag, do you have anything to say about family trips? Oh my gosh. When there's, like, 20 of us at one time?
- 39:35Samantha Shere Sharpe: It's a lot.
- 39:36Mason Sharpe: Yeah. It it there's been difficult parts to it. Are you
- 39:41Samantha Shere Sharpe: looking forward to Mexico? Think because we're all grown up.
- 39:43Mason Sharpe: Yeah. No, I like it over there.
- 39:44Melissa Shere Beek: But I wanna
- 39:44Samantha Shere Sharpe: say, everybody's up. Like, it's gonna be of a
- 39:47Mason Sharpe: different Yeah.
- 39:48Jessica Shere Coggins: Meyer's so excited.
- 39:49Mason Sharpe: The hard part is also, so I can throw on everyone in our whole family, it's there's they're they all have differences and things. So it's just like for every family, I think, too. Like, when you have a large group of people and you wanna go eat somewhere, everyone in your family has requirements, you know?
- 40:05Melissa Shere Beek: It's very true. Do you remember the lady in Berlin said, it's like herding cats. Yeah. I I can't be You
- 40:12Mason Sharpe: know, one's a vegetarian, one can't eat traef, and then your mom always speaks up on behalf of everyone and says, oh, we don't eat seafood.
- 40:20Jessica Shere Coggins: Oh, it's like when they come and say, do you have allergies?
- 40:23Melissa Shere Beek: And she's like, yes. We don't eat seafood. Right. Okay. But you have to understand, like, when we were in Japan or we're oh, no.
- 40:30We were also in in Amsterdam. And we ordered from the vegetarian side of the menu.
- 40:36Samantha Shere Sharpe: She wasn't with us. This was
- 40:37Melissa Shere Beek: my god.
- 40:38Mason Sharpe: There was photos showing you what it looked like too.
- 40:40Melissa Shere Beek: She's and but it said vegetarian. And it said all the vegetarian stuff that was in it. And it came.
- 40:47Mason Sharpe: Oh my god.
- 40:48Melissa Shere Beek: It was crunchy stuff on top.
- 40:49Samantha Shere Sharpe: It I I
- 40:50Jessica Shere Coggins: What was it?
- 40:51Samantha Shere Sharpe: It was shrimp.
- 40:52Melissa Shere Beek: It was shrimp.
- 40:52Samantha Shere Sharpe: Holly screamed Oh, is that
- 40:54Jessica Shere Coggins: when she's like, free the lobsters?
- 40:56Melissa Shere Beek: No. No. That
- 40:56Jessica Shere Coggins: was prime
- 40:57Melissa Shere Beek: one twelve. Oh, Oh, was Hawaii.
- 41:03Mason Sharpe: Hawaii.
- 41:04Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, no. That was with the pig.
- 41:06Samantha Shere Sharpe: That was the pig. No.
- 41:07Melissa Shere Beek: Was in She screamed when twelve. It was just the four of us in Hawaii. She screamed murder.
- 41:12Mason Sharpe: Murder. Yeah.
- 41:13Melissa Shere Beek: In rhyme when twelve, she screamed lobster killer. But I'm a vegetarian too. It's very upsetting. It's so upsetting. And we said it, like, 10,000,000 times.
- 41:22So, like, I get it. Like, you have to be especially when you're traveling in foreign under that table. We left the luau. Exactly. We left the luau.
- 41:31Samantha Shere Sharpe: The Amsterdam restaurant. Every time I get it was tablecloth.
- 41:35Melissa Shere Beek: I don't blame her. Literally wanted to meet people. I didn't die.
- 41:39Mason Sharpe: She wanted to sue them.
- 41:40Melissa Shere Beek: Upsetting. We're
- 41:41Mason Sharpe: like, we're in a foreign country.
- 41:42Melissa Shere Beek: It was so but it was upsetting because we went over, like, 20 times.
- 41:46Mason Sharpe: But but it it reminds so now you're refreshing my memory. So there's two things. So so one, it would be we'd go to like a country that they specialize in a certain type of seafood.
- 41:55Jessica Shere Coggins: Oh, we couldn't have But
- 41:56Mason Sharpe: I wanna eat it.
- 41:57Melissa Shere Beek: Okay. No. But you're eating haggis in Ireland.
- 42:00Mason Sharpe: Oh, shit.
- 42:00Melissa Shere Beek: You're eating it's she's intestine. Nobody wants to eat that for you.
- 42:05Mason Sharpe: But I felt You
- 42:06Melissa Shere Beek: ate it.
- 42:07Mason Sharpe: You and Aiden
- 42:08Melissa Shere Beek: But why not? That's what you're there for. Fine. He can have it
- 42:11Samantha Shere Sharpe: with the rest of us.
- 42:12Mason Sharpe: He can't
- 42:12Melissa Shere Beek: you know he's done.
- 42:14Mason Sharpe: Say we can't
- 42:14Melissa Shere Beek: eat that.
- 42:15Samantha Shere Sharpe: Right. He's grown leaps and
- 42:16Jessica Shere Coggins: bounds because it was before she would
- 42:17Melissa Shere Beek: be like, we don't eat seafood. And then he'd be like, well and then he would put his hand down. And then, like, over the years, it's like, I do and then finally
- 42:28Jessica Shere Coggins: Now he orders what he wants, finally.
- 42:29Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. And Aiden, we go to any restaurant no matter where we are, and you guys order what people eat seafood. It's nice.
- 42:37Mason Sharpe: Until the other thing too, you've been sticking up for me, but I'm not gonna throw you under, is back in the day, a long time ago, you've changed since then.
- 42:44Melissa Shere Beek: Shere. I'm scared.
- 42:45Mason Sharpe: You would go to a restaurant and I would order something that has
- 42:48Jessica Shere Coggins: something to And
- 42:50Melissa Shere Beek: I would Nobody wanted to sit next to me. I would call it out. I would be like
- 42:54Mason Sharpe: Yeah. I would be away from your mom, so she wouldn't see. I would be on
- 42:57Melissa Shere Beek: so You're far ratted on it.
- 42:58Mason Sharpe: And she would like Jessica.
- 42:59Melissa Shere Beek: Jessica. That's such a third kid. That's What such a are you eating over there? My god. That's such a Mom, look.
- 43:08That is so bad. I'm so sorry. Don't care what the hell you ate, but it was usually so smelly stinky that I didn't wanna be next to you because my hair smell.
- 43:16Samantha Shere Sharpe: But I hope cares. Orders, never eats it, and takes it home.
- 43:21Melissa Shere Beek: Who? You. Oh, yeah. You return everything you've ever It doesn't
- 43:25Jessica Shere Coggins: taste like how I want it to taste.
- 43:27Melissa Shere Beek: Returned everything you've ever ordered.
- 43:29Jessica Shere Coggins: I know. It doesn't taste good
- 43:31Melissa Shere Beek: to And then you take it home, and four days later, it's still in the fridge until it's like Yeah. Yeah, rotted.
- 43:36Mason Sharpe: Yeah. But that's better than Samantha because she brings it home, but she doesn't put it in the fridge. So it just leaves it
- 43:40Melissa Shere Beek: out. I used to leave things out.
- 43:42Mason Sharpe: Like, how
- 43:43Jessica Shere Coggins: I used I had to train myself
- 43:44Melissa Shere Beek: to put
- 43:44Jessica Shere Coggins: it in. Because I'd be like, I'll eat it later tonight.
- 43:46Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, no. Because I
- 43:47Jessica Shere Coggins: have a problem.
- 43:47Melissa Shere Beek: I'm eating it at like two in the morning. Dessert. I'm good about I'm eating dessert too. I come in I'm not sharing my dessert either. I in and
- 43:56Samantha Shere Sharpe: I think I'm hoping he puts it away from me. He does. He sometimes he does.
- 44:00Mason Sharpe: Yeah. And then if I don't
- 44:01Melissa Shere Beek: Then he gets in trouble.
- 44:02Mason Sharpe: Why don't you put it away?
- 44:03Samantha Shere Sharpe: Yes. So I'm like
- 44:04Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, well, that's your job, mate. Right. I I
- 44:06Mason Sharpe: understand Even if we're actually, this weekend, we're we're we bought some stuff for the refrigerator and our refrigerator is fully loaded because obviously, she likes to buy a lot
- 44:13Samantha Shere Sharpe: of expired.
- 44:14Mason Sharpe: Yeah. So I told Samantha, I said, you gotta clear out the stuff before we put the news things in. So she's like she's she's I'm trying to help her. So she takes things. She goes, oh, hey, take the lemonade.
- 44:23So I take the lemonade. Oh. So obviously, I'm taking it to clear it out and I dump it. And then she goes, where'd put the lemonade? Was a little low.
- 44:33Melissa Shere Beek: The whole point of this is it was
- 44:35Mason Sharpe: to clear out
- 44:35Melissa Shere Beek: the fridge.
- 44:36Mason Sharpe: And she says, take the lemonade. And it was supposed
- 44:38Melissa Shere Beek: to take it and
- 44:40Mason Sharpe: then save it
- 44:40Samantha Shere Sharpe: was for just telling him to take it out.
- 44:42Melissa Shere Beek: You were just telling him to remove it.
- 44:43Samantha Shere Sharpe: I was gonna make a cup full of myself, and then you could throw away the rest. But he I just hear, See, I'm like I
- 44:51Melissa Shere Beek: got I
- 44:51Samantha Shere Sharpe: yelled at him. I was like, why
- 44:53Melissa Shere Beek: Poor May. Yeah. Oh my god. Alright. Go to the bag.
- 44:56Who's next?
- 44:56Jessica Shere Coggins: I will say a lot
- 44:57Melissa Shere Beek: of Okay. Go ahead. He like, I think he's I think you're so funny.
- 45:01Mason Sharpe: Thank you.
- 45:02Jessica Shere Coggins: I didn't get it after
- 45:03Mason Sharpe: around more often.
- 45:04Jessica Shere Coggins: But he says these one liners. It
- 45:06Melissa Shere Beek: takes things. It takes me, like,
- 45:08Jessica Shere Coggins: a minute sometimes, but they are so funny and so He's got job.
- 45:12Melissa Shere Beek: I appreciate it. Zingers. If you're sitting near him, you can hear it.
- 45:15Jessica Shere Coggins: Oh, I so appreciate
- 45:16Melissa Shere Beek: I guess that I've
- 45:17Samantha Shere Sharpe: been married to him for so long of, like, so, like, okay,
- 45:20Melissa Shere Beek: here's It's funny though.
- 45:21Samantha Shere Sharpe: All the girls' friends think that he's hysterical. I'm like, please don't laugh at him.
- 45:25Melissa Shere Beek: He is
- 45:25Samantha Shere Sharpe: so Like,
- 45:25Melissa Shere Beek: when we were on trips, it doesn't like anybody to care. Solo with the three kids. Like, he was our entertainment. Like, it was great.
- 45:32Mason Sharpe: I had a great time with your voice.
- 45:34Jessica Shere Coggins: They they adore you. It's very funny.
- 45:36Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. I
- 45:37Samantha Shere Sharpe: think that over the years, they've really SISTER has really come into his own.
- 45:42Melissa Shere Beek: It's yeah. It's hard. We are
- 45:44Samantha Shere Sharpe: a strong force. Think we say all the time. So, like Yeah. As an outsider, it's hard to, like
- 45:49Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, yeah.
- 45:49Samantha Shere Sharpe: Come in. I feel like he's kinda gravitated into. Yeah.
- 45:52Jessica Shere Coggins: This is a good one.
- 45:53Mason Sharpe: I think also the other thing too is I was afraid at the beginning of giving my opinion.
- 45:57Melissa Shere Beek: Uh-huh.
- 45:57Mason Sharpe: Because then if it didn't work out, I was one to blame.
- 46:00Jessica Shere Coggins: Oh, yeah. Yeah. But I
- 46:01Mason Sharpe: there's so I used never
- 46:02Melissa Shere Beek: answer the questions now.
- 46:03Samantha Shere Sharpe: This story. Then finally goes, oh, I see it now. I see what you're saying. I see why you don't give full answers.
- 46:11Jessica Shere Coggins: Because if he gives an answer
- 46:13Melissa Shere Beek: They blame him. Then they yes. They blame him.
- 46:15Jessica Shere Coggins: But you told me this.
- 46:16Melissa Shere Beek: He
- 46:16Samantha Shere Sharpe: yell at me, like, can you just give me an answer? Or can you just give mom an answer? And I'm like, listen, Jess. This is the reason why we don't give answers because it'll come back and be like
- 46:26Melissa Shere Beek: Like you told me to do.
- 46:27Mason Sharpe: The time it happened was your Uber at Tulane. Right? Yes. It's I
- 46:32Samantha Shere Sharpe: was after
- 46:32Mason Sharpe: Uber. Outside Remy's.
- 46:34Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, for her reservation. Then a time we had
- 46:36Mason Sharpe: to get Uber. And it's about whether you get an Uber or cab or Lyft or whatever.
- 46:40Melissa Shere Beek: I hired a van from No. No. No. This was I
- 46:42Samantha Shere Sharpe: remember this. This is the airport we were going to the rental. This is that No.
- 46:46Mason Sharpe: It's from Remi's apartment outside of it.
- 46:47Samantha Shere Sharpe: Oh, was it?
- 46:48Mason Sharpe: And we had to go to the hotel or something.
- 46:49Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, her house on Broadway.
- 46:51Mason Sharpe: So she goes to me and she goes, so do I order Lyft? Or can I order Uber? Should I can you do Uber?
- 46:56Melissa Shere Beek: I totally remember this.
- 46:57Jessica Shere Coggins: And I'm like, Ruthie, like No.
- 46:59Mason Sharpe: Ruthie, go to the app and go she's like, well, can can't you do it for me? Like, I'd rather
- 47:03Melissa Shere Beek: not Well, technology is definitely not her thing.
- 47:05Mason Sharpe: No. Do I do this or do I call someone? I'm like, just go on Uber. And then Jessica's like, Mason, she just wants you to do the Uber for you. Can't you do it for her?
- 47:13I'm like, I'd rather not.
- 47:16Melissa Shere Beek: Because the
- 47:16Mason Sharpe: reason why
- 47:17Melissa Shere Beek: Jessica was mad.
- 47:18Mason Sharpe: Yeah. Because I explained.
- 47:19Samantha Shere Sharpe: She thought you were being rude. And we're like, listen, we've been down this road so many times that, like, we're not doing this anymore.
- 47:25Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. Because we I it. If I order it for her
- 47:27Mason Sharpe: and it says five minutes
- 47:29Melissa Shere Beek: We're gonna get
- 47:29Mason Sharpe: and it and it arrives in Yeah. Eight minutes I'm at fault because I screwed up. Or if the driver goes to wrong location or if it's the driver she doesn't like, it's my fault. So if I just stay out of it, then
- 47:41Samantha Shere Sharpe: That's what I'm saying.
- 47:41Melissa Shere Beek: He's warned over the years. Like, he definitely has. Like, he knows when to stay away and he knows when to chime in to chime in.
- 47:48Mason Sharpe: Yeah. That's why I like when there's, like, computer issues now. I have someone else in the family that will speak up and and volunteer to
- 47:54Jessica Shere Coggins: offer Yes. Now you call the kids.
- 47:56Melissa Shere Beek: No. Well, that's better. No. It's called somebody else. Yeah.
- 48:00Oh, I know who. Yeah. I know who. You're a guy.
- 48:03Mason Sharpe: I know
- 48:04Melissa Shere Beek: who. I know Definitely I not Jessica. I love it.
- 48:06Mason Sharpe: I love
- 48:07Melissa Shere Beek: him now. So we pass it on to the third was like, why is
- 48:10Jessica Shere Coggins: he has another guy to, like, hands
- 48:11Melissa Shere Beek: it off to? You know, he never had that.
- 48:13Samantha Shere Sharpe: Yeah. He's just waiting for the blame game to
- 48:15Mason Sharpe: be passed. Exactly.
- 48:16Jessica Shere Coggins: Now I got your back. This is a really apropos. Does apropos mean fitting?
- 48:21Melissa Shere Beek: Uh-huh. Appropriate? Oh. It's fitting. Go ahead.
- 48:24I just got that. No. Apropos is is fitting. Go ahead. Go ahead.
- 48:27No. But I didn't know that was linked to appropriate. Synonyms. Yes. Go ahead.
- 48:31Jessica Shere Coggins: What have you stopped apologizing for or need
- 48:33Melissa Shere Beek: to stop apologizing for? That's a good one. I'm not gonna
- 48:38Jessica Shere Coggins: go there because we go there every time.
- 48:39Melissa Shere Beek: You just said you wanted to answer this question.
- 48:41Jessica Shere Coggins: No. I just said it
- 48:42Melissa Shere Beek: was a good question. I didn't say I wanna answer my god. Jesse, you have to answer it. Go there.
- 48:46Jessica Shere Coggins: No. No. It's not.
- 48:47Melissa Shere Beek: It's things that happened like ten years ago. Oh, that? Yeah.
- 48:50Samantha Shere Sharpe: I'll put it
- 48:50Melissa Shere Beek: lightly like that. That perfectly said. Thank you. Perfectly said. Okay.
- 48:54Next pick.
- 48:55Samantha Shere Sharpe: She's not allowed to apologize for it anymore, actually.
- 48:57Melissa Shere Beek: There's
- 48:57Jessica Shere Coggins: nothing to do apologizing. Not all
- 49:00Melissa Shere Beek: of it. Not anymore. What'd you get, Samby Jo? He's throwing it back in?
- 49:07Jessica Shere Coggins: No. He's not.
- 49:09Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, no. She opened up her mouth.
- 49:11Jessica Shere Coggins: She doesn't like this question or
- 49:12Mason Sharpe: don't know. Why are you taking it her? Why
- 49:14Samantha Shere Sharpe: did you what rewind. What did you learn from someone or something that hurt you?
- 49:20Jessica Shere Coggins: Oh. I think I know the answer.
- 49:23Samantha Shere Sharpe: Wait. What did you learn from someone?
- 49:26Melissa Shere Beek: Something popped into my head. No. And I wonder if that's gonna
- 49:28Samantha Shere Sharpe: be I'm gonna put it I'm gonna do this in a twist. Okay. Oh. There's someone that hurt my child.
- 49:35Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, that's not where I thought you were going.
- 49:36Jessica Shere Coggins: I didn't think she was going there either. Oh. It's okay. Go.
- 49:39Samantha Shere Sharpe: And I kind of was like it was more of like she was gonna handle it and I wanted her to handle it the way I would've handled it. Mhmm. And she said, no. I'm gonna handle it my way. And she did.
- 49:53And everything's great. And I look back and I'm like, god. She was right all along.
- 49:59Melissa Shere Beek: Your daughter.
- 49:59Samantha Shere Sharpe: Yeah. My daughter. Mhmm. And it's kind of like I don't know. It's a lesson that I've learned that you gotta step back
- 50:06Melissa Shere Beek: And let your kids
- 50:07Samantha Shere Sharpe: not knee jerk something and Mhmm. They these kids know what they're doing. Right. As much as I don't think Stella knows what she's doing half the time, she no. She's such a good girl.
- 50:18Jessica Shere Coggins: Or you let them fall and then they learn.
- 50:20Melissa Shere Beek: No. And this
- 50:20Samantha Shere Sharpe: is this was on her terms. This was her way and it worked out perfectly. Mhmm. And that's
- 50:27Jessica Shere Coggins: that's what I'll say.
- 50:28Melissa Shere Beek: May, do you wanna answer the question too? No. That makes sense.
- 50:31Mason Sharpe: No. Example there.
- 50:32Samantha Shere Sharpe: Get back. No. What if? She sent me.
- 50:34Melissa Shere Beek: Sorry. Yeah.
- 50:35Mason Sharpe: No. It's we're I'm so proud of her
- 50:37Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah.
- 50:38Mason Sharpe: How she did that. And and I agree. I'm glad Samantha recognizes this because sometimes I sum up definitely, Samantha, you wanna step in and you wanna defend your kid.
- 50:48Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, sure.
- 50:49Mason Sharpe: And you and we're the adults, so we're supposed to have all the answers and tell the kids what they're supposed to do.
- 50:53Melissa Shere Beek: Right.
- 50:54Mason Sharpe: But our kids have reached an age where they're you know, they have their own opinions.
- 50:57Melissa Shere Beek: Right.
- 50:57Mason Sharpe: Mhmm. Beforehand, when our kids were younger, they might have their own opinions, but it definitely was not the right
- 51:02Melissa Shere Beek: Well, they don't always know
- 51:04Mason Sharpe: how to But they've matured. And right. And I'm glad that Samantha took a step back. Yeah. Let her daughter take the lead.
- 51:11Samantha Shere Sharpe: I will say one thing totally off the subject. When we went to dinner for our anniversary, Bria said some asked us a question. She's like, what is it what did she what did she ask? What is it one thing that you like about mom and what is one thing mom likes No. About It's good question.
- 51:26And she's like, listen, 50% of the people are divorced. Like, what is it? And, you know, I have open talks with the girls a lot. And, you know, we laugh a lot because Mace and I are opposites. There's I mean, we are as I mean, not
- 51:42Mason Sharpe: Don't remind me because I I forget
- 51:44Melissa Shere Beek: sometimes I don't know if Mace knows what's hitting.
- 51:47Samantha Shere Sharpe: But in this conversation, I will say that I joke to the kids, like, we're so opposite, but he is my person when like, you know, I have a I
- 52:00Melissa Shere Beek: I want an honest opinion.
- 52:02Samantha Shere Sharpe: I will get an honest opinion from him. It won't be my it won't be what I think you guys are so opposite.
- 52:06Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, yeah.
- 52:06Jessica Shere Coggins: I think you work very well together.
- 52:08Samantha Shere Sharpe: We work
- 52:08Melissa Shere Beek: very well together. But I don't think you guys are so opposite. I agree with you.
- 52:12Mason Sharpe: But I just let her go.
- 52:13Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. That's what I He's learned to bend towards me, man.
- 52:15Mason Sharpe: What do
- 52:15Melissa Shere Beek: you mean? He's learned. Don't tell me. Listen. I want to know what you can do.
- 52:19Do. We actually
- 52:22Samantha Shere Sharpe: answered know what you for
- 52:23Melissa Shere Beek: each We both got it correct. One thing. Not correct or incorrect.
- 52:26Samantha Shere Sharpe: It's he knew me, and I knew him. That's what I'm gonna say.
- 52:29Melissa Shere Beek: No. What's the one thing that you said about him that you liked?
- 52:33Samantha Shere Sharpe: That I can go to him and I will get an honest opinion.
- 52:35Melissa Shere Beek: And what what was the one thing? What?
- 52:38Mason Sharpe: I'm going dirty. I'm sorry. How I can go anywhere. Uh-huh. And she always is able to have conversation know, have have conversations with people Yeah.
- 52:47And find interest in people. Yeah. It's not like she finds a corner and just stays in it.
- 52:51Melissa Shere Beek: So No. She's social. Yeah. She's social. Yeah.
- 52:54She could talk. Yeah.
- 52:56Jessica Shere Coggins: Wait. You pick another one.
- 52:58Mason Sharpe: Oh, you don't use it?
- 52:59Melissa Shere Beek: No. No. No. Go ahead. You're guest.
- 53:00Jessica Shere Coggins: We wanna hear what you have to say. Yeah.
- 53:02Samantha Shere Sharpe: This is all about you. You wanted this.
- 53:04Mason Sharpe: I should've got this in
- 53:05Melissa Shere Beek: shirt for Stella. She looked cute in that shirt too. Yeah. What
- 53:14Mason Sharpe: is your first memory? I I don't remember it.
- 53:16Melissa Shere Beek: Okay. Take another one. Send that back. You know, he's my husband now because he's like We've we've

- 53:29Mason Sharpe: you never got to think.
- 53:32Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, hacked that up again? Yeah.
- 53:34Mason Sharpe: That was mine Did you
- 53:35Melissa Shere Beek: put that back? No. I hinted it to you.
- 53:37Mason Sharpe: You said you said leave it up, but then put it back afterwards.
- 53:40Jessica Shere Coggins: Oh, okay. It was than this.
- 53:41Melissa Shere Beek: Dig deeper in that barrel then. Yeah. You gotta like. There's one by your leg.
- 53:45Mason Sharpe: Favorite meal?

- 53:52Mason Sharpe: It'd be either a stick or a lobster. Yeah. Daniels. Daniels.
- 53:57Jessica Shere Coggins: Oh, I
- 53:59Mason Sharpe: don't know what Daniel's is.
- 54:00Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. Because I'm okay.
- 54:02Mason Sharpe: Poor lobster. I'm trying to get Yeah.
- 54:04Jessica Shere Coggins: What did which one knew he was gonna say, yes. Put them
- 54:06Melissa Shere Beek: back in, Mason. Dig dig dig
- 54:09Mason Sharpe: dig I I answered.
- 54:10Melissa Shere Beek: Do you want us to pick one for good one. That wasn't a

- 54:16Melissa Shere Beek: one for you. The bag, Jess. Take the bag away from him.
- 54:19Mason Sharpe: What hobbies do you have?
- 54:20Samantha Shere Sharpe: Oh, No. No.
- 54:22Melissa Shere Beek: No. No. I'm gonna find him a good one. Like one he has to really answer. Okay.
- 54:29Samantha Shere Sharpe: Hold on.
- 54:30Melissa Shere Beek: You might be doing that for
- 54:31Samantha Shere Sharpe: a while. No. No. I will say one thing about me, Sam. What do you what do you say about me?
- 54:38I am more your mother's daughter than you are her son.
- 54:41Mason Sharpe: Yeah. I I have two mother in laws, I always say. Because she yeah. She's
- 54:45Melissa Shere Beek: I am more Candy's daughter than
- 54:47Mason Sharpe: She's very similar to my mom.
- 54:48Jessica Shere Coggins: Oh, okay.
- 54:49Melissa Shere Beek: Sorry. I'll get one. Yeah.
- 54:50Samantha Shere Sharpe: You looked at me like, what?
- 54:52Melissa Shere Beek: I was like, two mother in laws? What what do you mean? No. He has
- 54:54Mason Sharpe: No. Because
- 54:54Melissa Shere Beek: you She like
- 54:55Mason Sharpe: goes to my mom.
- 54:57Melissa Shere Beek: She's very
- 54:57Samantha Shere Sharpe: similar. Like he wasn't he knew what he was marrying because of his mother. His mother's a shopper. Candy is a shopper.
- 55:04Melissa Shere Beek: So I think that's why Mason's not fazed by the shit that he don't think he's good with anything she does. I don't think so either. I don't he just it. I don't think he cares. I think he just doesn't give a shit.
- 55:14Yeah. He just done she could do whatever. It's great.
- 55:17Jessica Shere Coggins: I love that.
- 55:18Mason Sharpe: I don't know if I ever admitted to her, but I know she like she'll buy some a lot of stuff, but as long as it's one thing for me, then everything else is okay because
- 55:28Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. She justifies it. Did she do that with the
- 55:30Mason Sharpe: kids too? Yeah. With the Oh, Samantha.
- 55:33Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, these

- 55:42Jessica Shere Coggins: There was a bunch I did
- 55:43Melissa Shere Beek: not say.
- 55:43Samantha Shere Sharpe: Look at her. Shere laugh as a pile. Yeah.
- 55:45Melissa Shere Beek: She had laugh as 10,000 on them.

- 58:12Mason Sharpe: Is there a time in your life that changed things that you mark as a before and after period, a pivotal moment? Obviously, the basic one would be when I got married or when I had kids.
- 58:24Melissa Shere Beek: But besides
- 58:25Mason Sharpe: Things that that changed.
- 58:26Jessica Shere Coggins: You gotta go to something.
- 58:28Melissa Shere Beek: She wants you to get to the meat of something. Are you thinking of something specific, Jess? No. No. Was one
- 58:33Samantha Shere Sharpe: of your questions.
- 58:34Jessica Shere Coggins: No. I just don't want him to say the kids being born and being married. I
- 58:37Melissa Shere Beek: want That's like a a pretty big. No. But those are common.
- 58:41Jessica Shere Coggins: Don't know if he has another one.
- 58:42Melissa Shere Beek: Is there a more personal pivotal moment?
- 58:46Mason Sharpe: Yeah. I wanna be able to give you guys answers. I don't I already gave you two, but they're not
- 58:50Melissa Shere Beek: good at all. We a gong in here for him not answering. We needed a gong. I thought this is a good one before and after.
- 58:56Samantha Shere Sharpe: About him is he's he we know him so well. There's nothing, like, that would surprise us, at least for me.
- 59:03Mason Sharpe: Maybe it's, like, before and after, like, when the kids go to sleepaway camp and when they're not at sleepaway camp. Like, it's a different attitude.
- 59:10Melissa Shere Beek: No. I'm talking like an impactful pivotal moment.
- 59:13Samantha Shere Sharpe: Think maybe my when my father died.
- 59:15Mason Sharpe: But I didn't wanna bring that up. Don't know
- 59:16Melissa Shere Beek: if that's the right thing. Can up all time. Everything.
- 59:19Samantha Shere Sharpe: All the time.
- 59:19Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. That was an impactful pivotal moment when our dad died.
- 59:23Mason Sharpe: It's not just when he died, but also, like, when he got injured, you know, like Mhmm. Before that
- 59:27Melissa Shere Beek: The first time. Yeah.
- 59:27Mason Sharpe: I played tennis with him. Mhmm. You know, go to Home Depot. Mhmm. Just do stuff like that.
- 59:33And then, you know, there's a moment where, you know, it just stops and just changes and stuff Right. Like And I still remember all our family vacations, hanging out with him.
- 59:42Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah.
- 59:43Mason Sharpe: I remember, actually, there was a moment, like, we were somewhere over in Europe, walking the street, and there was something happening with it was an argument with Samantha and I, obviously. And then I
- 59:56Melissa Shere Beek: was I think this was in Prague, because I remember the screaming on the street.
- 59:59Mason Sharpe: Yeah. And then your mom was like shouting at me, defending Samantha, and then your dad was like, no, Mason's right. And your mom started yelling at your father, how could you do that? It's your daughter. He's like, yeah, but he's right.
- 1:00:12So like, he was always there to like Yeah. Your mom would say whatever.
- 1:00:15Melissa Shere Beek: That's like how
- 1:00:16Jessica Shere Coggins: I was growing up.
- 1:00:17Melissa Shere Beek: But he always
- 1:00:18Mason Sharpe: was like truthful and would, even if it hurt saying going up against her
- 1:00:23Melissa Shere Beek: Right.
- 1:00:24Mason Sharpe: He would say the truth and
- 1:00:25Melissa Shere Beek: No. He always told the truth.
- 1:00:26Mason Sharpe: Yeah. So that's what There's a
- 1:00:28Melissa Shere Beek: big difference. It's amazing to me that his
- 1:00:31Mason Sharpe: Sorry for upsetting both
- 1:00:32Samantha Shere Sharpe: of It's amazing to
- 1:00:33Jessica Shere Coggins: me that his memory, like, still continues.
- 1:00:35Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, yeah.
- 1:00:36Jessica Shere Coggins: But it's been a long time. Sometimes you
- 1:00:39Melissa Shere Beek: don't, like, think about it. You know what I mean? But it's it's it keeps it continues.
- 1:00:43Samantha Shere Sharpe: He says
- 1:00:43Melissa Shere Beek: he still like, he remembers
- 1:00:45Samantha Shere Sharpe: that he remembers that pivotal moment when he stopped being dad. Yeah. Like
- 1:00:51Mason Sharpe: It ate me up when he, like, when he couldn't eat.
- 1:00:54Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah.
- 1:00:55Mason Sharpe: And we to celebrate his birthdays, we'd go to somewhere to eat.
- 1:00:58Jessica Shere Coggins: I know. I know. And had cake.
- 1:01:00Mason Sharpe: In front of him.
- 1:01:00Melissa Shere Beek: But we used to We used to sneak a cake. I don't eat him. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:01:03Jessica Shere Coggins: Like the frosting.
- 1:01:04Samantha Shere Sharpe: He knew
- 1:01:05Mason Sharpe: his stomach. Knew then also, was like, I value his opinion for sure.
- 1:01:09Samantha Shere Sharpe: Yeah. You did value his opinion.
- 1:01:11Mason Sharpe: And when I go there for his advice, and he's he's given me an answer Yeah. But I can't understand what he says. It was so devastating. Like, try to try to guess what he's saying. I try because I didn't wanna leave him frustrated that he couldn't say something so
- 1:01:28Samantha Shere Sharpe: that Remember when I got you guys Wally World matching shirts? Yeah. You and him and the Wally World matching shirts.
- 1:01:34Mason Sharpe: Yeah. We used to do the Wally World stuff.
- 1:01:35Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:01:36Samantha Shere Sharpe: You loved him. Next question. No. That was a good one.
- 1:01:40Melissa Shere Beek: No. It's it is. But you
- 1:01:41Mason Sharpe: keep feeding me that Shere turn too.
- 1:01:42Samantha Shere Sharpe: No. No. We don't use it. We do these all the time.
- 1:01:44Melissa Shere Beek: We do these all the time. What?
- 1:01:46Mason Sharpe: What got you? My dad.
- 1:01:48Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. My dad.
- 1:01:49Samantha Shere Sharpe: Not you. You don't bring her to tears.
- 1:01:51Melissa Shere Beek: Well, you did. But you didn't.
- 1:01:53Mason Sharpe: What do you wanna get better at? I guess just dealing with with the girls in the in the house and stuff like that, trying to understand them and having a better relationship with them and stuff like that. That's because there's sometimes you you think you you understand them, and then they come home and they say things where you're like, I I just
- 1:02:14Melissa Shere Beek: You don't know what hit you?
- 1:02:15Jessica Shere Coggins: Well, because and they also talk in these terms now.
- 1:02:18Mason Sharpe: Yeah. Like But, like, even, like, outfits. Like, I didn't realize, like, if you're for homecoming, that you need to give at least 500 different outfits to choose. And if you find one that's still not good enough because your opinion may change, so you still gotta buy several 100 more
- 1:02:33Jessica Shere Coggins: Oh, my god.
- 1:02:33Mason Sharpe: To go over
- 1:02:33Melissa Shere Beek: and Things are different in your house. Yeah. Balan, you got a dress. That's it. Yeah.
- 1:02:38My kids You don't like it? I'm not paying for another one. Sorry, Sam. Yeah. It's not me.
- 1:02:44Have you not met Bria? I mean, like, come on.
- 1:02:48Samantha Shere Sharpe: Like, I love the dress on her. I don't know.
- 1:02:50Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, I don't know.
- 1:02:51Jessica Shere Coggins: I She saw me
- 1:02:51Melissa Shere Beek: this dress. I really like it.
- 1:02:52Samantha Shere Sharpe: She looked hot. Which one?
- 1:02:55Jessica Shere Coggins: It was like a sexy one, but
- 1:02:57Melissa Shere Beek: she looked really good. Was it the lace one? Yeah. But they got a high neck. Yeah.
- 1:03:00I loved it on I
- 1:03:01Samantha Shere Sharpe: loved it too.
- 1:03:02Melissa Shere Beek: I thought she looked gorgeous and very feminine in it.
- 1:03:04Samantha Shere Sharpe: Yeah. Well, as if she's not No.
- 1:03:06Melissa Shere Beek: No. No. No.
- 1:03:07Jessica Shere Coggins: It was like this see through lace, I think, from what I remember.
- 1:03:10Samantha Shere Sharpe: White or black? I think it's black. Okay. That's something else. That is not homecoming.
- 1:03:16Oh.
- 1:03:17Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. Okay.
- 1:03:18Samantha Shere Sharpe: Yeah. No. Okay. That was three points. That's something else.
- 1:03:21Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, yeah. She looks good. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:03:23Samantha Shere Sharpe: I know.
- 1:03:23Melissa Shere Beek: Really I didn't see any of these.
- 1:03:24Mason Sharpe: Three points.
- 1:03:25Melissa Shere Beek: I don't know.
- 1:03:26Samantha Shere Sharpe: Okay. Give him another one.
- 1:03:28Melissa Shere Beek: This is the only time I hear from these two is when I get them in studio. The rest of the month, I can't get them on the phone or return text.
- 1:03:34Jessica Shere Coggins: Oh my god. I have so many in
- 1:03:35Melissa Shere Beek: my life.
- 1:03:36Mason Sharpe: This one is not possible. How do you handle stress?
- 1:03:38Jessica Shere Coggins: Give me other ones.
- 1:03:40Mason Sharpe: Step out of the house. Breeze got me going to the gym. But I go to the gym more often. I try, but then there's always there's events that I have to go to at night.
- 1:03:52Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. Look at these two working hard. These two little elves. We
- 1:03:55Jessica Shere Coggins: are on to it.
- 1:03:57Mason Sharpe: What is your biggest pet peeve?
- 1:03:59Samantha Shere Sharpe: Do you have
- 1:03:59Melissa Shere Beek: another one, buddy? I don't love it. Have
- 1:04:04Mason Sharpe: to What's have a pet my biggest pet peeve?
- 1:04:06Melissa Shere Beek: I know. She's asking.
- 1:04:08Mason Sharpe: I'm sure there's something, but I can't remember, like, what I hate.
- 1:04:12Jessica Shere Coggins: Me? Traveling?
- 1:04:13Mason Sharpe: I don't know. Only thing can think of that's in my head right now
- 1:04:16Melissa Shere Beek: Traveling is with us.
- 1:04:17Mason Sharpe: When you're in a restaurant
- 1:04:18Melissa Shere Beek: Uh-huh.
- 1:04:18Mason Sharpe: And you're gonna give your order
- 1:04:20Melissa Shere Beek: Uh-huh.
- 1:04:20Mason Sharpe: And they say and then the waiter will come to you, what are we ordering? Like, we're why we? It's just me. Like, I'm Why do they need to sit? They should just say, what are you ordering?
- 1:04:29Melissa Shere Beek: That's your pet peeve?
- 1:04:30Mason Sharpe: I'm just trying
- 1:04:30Melissa Shere Beek: to that's the first thing. Do have another one that
- 1:04:33Samantha Shere Sharpe: I'll I'm gonna say
- 1:04:34Melissa Shere Beek: at far at the end of this question.
- 1:04:38Mason Sharpe: What is your greatest achievement so far?
- 1:04:41Melissa Shere Beek: Thus far. Yeah.
- 1:04:45Jessica Shere Coggins: I'm not gonna
- 1:04:46Mason Sharpe: do this. I think I know
- 1:04:47Samantha Shere Sharpe: what they
- 1:04:48Mason Sharpe: Providing for my family and making them happy.
- 1:04:51Melissa Shere Beek: Aw. That's sweet. Did you hear that? Are you even yeah. Think a good one.
- 1:04:54Yes. Yes. Aw. That's sweet. And making them happy.
- 1:04:57I like that.
- 1:04:58Samantha Shere Sharpe: Thank you.
- 1:05:00Mason Sharpe: Who wears the next topic? That we good?
- 1:05:03Jessica Shere Coggins: No. We're not. We're just gonna keep giving you good questions.
- 1:05:06Mason Sharpe: Okay. Well, this is favorite place you travel to that you'd move to.
- 1:05:11Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, that's a good You could do that too. But you could Yeah. He liked that. You too. He laid up.
- 1:05:15He sat up. He's answers now.
- 1:05:17Jessica Shere Coggins: And he's like, oh.
- 1:05:18Mason Sharpe: If you cut it off for a play favorite place you've traveled to
- 1:05:21Melissa Shere Beek: Uh-huh.
- 1:05:22Mason Sharpe: Definitely South Africa.
- 1:05:23Melissa Shere Beek: Uh-huh.
- 1:05:24Mason Sharpe: But not to live there.
- 1:05:25Melissa Shere Beek: Okay.
- 1:05:25Mason Sharpe: So the place I've moved to?
- 1:05:27Melissa Shere Beek: Uh-huh.
- 1:05:28Mason Sharpe: Japan.
- 1:05:28Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. I love Japan. Why?
- 1:05:30Mason Sharpe: He goes Oh, he's gonna go on
- 1:05:32Melissa Shere Beek: ten minutes on this.
- 1:05:33Mason Sharpe: Yeah. No. The the people over there, the respect that you have
- 1:05:36Melissa Shere Beek: Steven just came back from Japan.
- 1:05:38Mason Sharpe: Oh, that's right.
- 1:05:39Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. Got us all gifts.
- 1:05:41Mason Sharpe: That so he Not
- 1:05:41Jessica Shere Coggins: you though.
- 1:05:42Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. No. I finished the bongo movies. Oh, not me.
- 1:05:45Samantha Shere Sharpe: I used coffee.
- 1:05:46Mason Sharpe: You think of Japan as being a place that is gonna have great Japanese food, but you don't realize when you're there, it's great everything food.
- 1:05:52Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah.
- 1:05:52Mason Sharpe: Because they're just perfectionists.
- 1:05:53Melissa Shere Beek: It's amazing. It's so different there.
- 1:05:55Mason Sharpe: Love food. Italian food.
- 1:05:57Melissa Shere Beek: I love the energy there. It's everything. The energy is just so calm and considerate and nice. You take your time. I'd loved going through the gardens.
- 1:06:09Jessica Shere Coggins: Yeah. Some of it's just for magnificent.
- 1:06:11Melissa Shere Beek: Such a spiritual experience. Like I just I just felt it was yeah. I like that. I agree with you on that one. I wouldn't move there though.
- 1:06:20I would move to Italy.
- 1:06:21Samantha Shere Sharpe: I thought you would have said Kennebunkport or
- 1:06:26Melissa Shere Beek: I kicked by accident with my shoe.
- 1:06:28Samantha Shere Sharpe: Kennebunkport or Vail.
- 1:06:31Mason Sharpe: Yeah. But that's just short term though.
- 1:06:33Jessica Shere Coggins: But he doesn't ski anymore.
- 1:06:34Samantha Shere Sharpe: No. He never skied.
- 1:06:35Jessica Shere Coggins: Right. Next one.
- 1:06:37Mason Sharpe: No. I did try skiing.
- 1:06:38Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah.
- 1:06:38Samantha Shere Sharpe: No. Because I could imagine him skiing.
- 1:06:40Melissa Shere Beek: No. No. No. No. There's no point.
- 1:06:41Samantha Shere Sharpe: You injured your head. Now one thing injured your knee
- 1:06:45Melissa Shere Beek: the next year. So we're just We
- 1:06:47Samantha Shere Sharpe: could get all the bunny slopes
- 1:06:49Melissa Shere Beek: and he got mad that I moved ahead.
- 1:06:50Jessica Shere Coggins: Yeah. Because this one just keeps skiing and this one's left behind.
- 1:06:53Melissa Shere Beek: But she's always been skiing.
- 1:06:54Mason Sharpe: Yeah. But as long as there's food, I'm okay.
- 1:06:57Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. Alright. I'm at the apres ski with the chocolate milk and the
- 1:07:01Mason Sharpe: s'mores. Thoughts on AI.
- 1:07:03Samantha Shere Sharpe: So before you answer, Brie and I jokingly say that he is having an affair with Claude. Is Claude your AI person?
- 1:07:13Mason Sharpe: Oh. You're you're not too familiar with AI.
- 1:07:17Melissa Shere Beek: He's Claude either.
- 1:07:19Mason Sharpe: So Claude is have you ordered ChatGPT?
- 1:07:21Melissa Shere Beek: UPS guy.
- 1:07:21Mason Sharpe: Yeah. So ChatGPT is like like McDonald's and Burger King. So, like, ChatGPT is McDonald's and Claude is
- 1:07:27Melissa Shere Beek: Burger King.
- 1:07:28Samantha Shere Sharpe: It's just another His analogies are really good. His analogies are really good. He does check Wendy's Wendy's is Gemini. So, like, there's different
- 1:07:37Melissa Shere Beek: It's another AI source. Oh,
- 1:07:39Jessica Shere Coggins: I see. You're going down.
- 1:07:40Mason Sharpe: But the thing is that there's lot of free ones.
- 1:07:42Melissa Shere Beek: Taco Bell.
- 1:07:43Mason Sharpe: You can use ChatGPT for free and Claude for free, and that's what I used to use. But then I changed and I and I have this Claude called co work, where it you could basically, like, take over your computer, it can, like, basically step in for you and do things on your behalf.
- 1:07:58Melissa Shere Beek: That's so weird though, still.
- 1:07:59Mason Sharpe: If I have a problem with the computer or if I have to go to my parents house to fix the computer, I just tell Claude, this is an issue here, and it just takes over the computer, does all these steps on its own.
- 1:08:08Melissa Shere Beek: He used to come over
- 1:08:09Jessica Shere Coggins: and fix mommy's computer all the time. I
- 1:08:11Melissa Shere Beek: remember But
- 1:08:12Samantha Shere Sharpe: what what are your thoughts on AI? You like it or
- 1:08:14Melissa Shere Beek: you don't? I love it. Yeah. He would
- 1:08:16Mason Sharpe: like it. But there's also extremes too, though.
- 1:08:18Melissa Shere Beek: Okay. Steven and I were having this discussion right before you came in. Steven, turn around. You gotta chime in on this. We were talking about AI.
- 1:08:27And I said, I only like it for helping with health reasons, if it can come science wise to good things. Or what was the other thing I said, Steven? Health and
- 1:08:39Mason Sharpe: I think those were the two.
- 1:08:40Melissa Shere Beek: No. What was the second one? Health and oh, shit. What was it? I lost my mind.
- 1:08:47Something else. Health was one of them and also I forgot the other one. But I Educational? Or something? No.
- 1:08:54I didn't say that. Academia? No. Okay.
- 1:08:56Mason Sharpe: But what I found with AI But Artist I don't wanna get too
- 1:08:59Melissa Shere Beek: far Okay. Go ahead.
- 1:08:59Mason Sharpe: Too far involved into this.
- 1:09:00Melissa Shere Beek: Have Okay.
- 1:09:01Mason Sharpe: But I I feel like it's you look like several years ago, like, with Facebook and and social media, how it's basically getting everyone to extremes.
- 1:09:10Melissa Shere Beek: Right.
- 1:09:10Mason Sharpe: So, like, where before social media, it didn't really matter if you're a Democrat, Republican, it's not that big of a deal. But on social media, all it feeds you is if you if you're a Democrat, all you're gonna keep seeing is Democrat stuff. And so you everyone eventually goes towards extremes. So, like, for AI, when you ask for an opinion Mhmm. And say, I'm having this issue here, what I want it it, You're basically, like, telling it what your side is.
- 1:09:35Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. That's how you phrase it and say it.
- 1:09:37Mason Sharpe: Right. And so it wants to please you, so it gives you answers Yeah. To defend yours. So actually, there's one example of someone on social media, a famous, like, real estate agent who's selling, like, a really super expensive apartment, and then the buyer and seller, they're about to close on the deal, but they both, the buyer went on to AI and asked the question, am I selling it at a high or a low price? And then for the buyer, it says, You're overpaying, you shouldn't be doing this, and then the buyer contacted the broker, they wanted to back out.
- 1:10:05Then when the broker told the seller, the seller's like, actually, you're saying that I was on AI, and I asked it a question, it said, I'm selling it for too low of a price, I'm backing out too. Right. So both of them are extremes, and they're not they're missing out on a lot of things. And for business wise, I use it, but I'm also seeing, when I give leases to tenants, I'm seeing tenants put in using AI, and they're asking for crazy things and it's basically now that if we used to have like a small little issue to deal with, now sometimes if they use AI and I am, it's just extremes.
- 1:10:36Melissa Shere Beek: I think it's extremely divisive. And I think we have no guardrails on it. And I'm afraid what it could do with warfare and other things. I just I think it can be I think there are positives to it, like I said, for research and health. But I am really scared that we have no parameters and it can be extremely dangerous in the wrong hands.
- 1:10:57As far as you the And that's fucking scary. I know.
- 1:11:02Mason Sharpe: But For Aiden's graduation at Arizona, it had a like a speaker. Mhmm. And it was some guy from Google, Sam.
- 1:11:09Jessica Shere Coggins: Mhmm.
- 1:11:09Mason Sharpe: Right? There's a former former VP or whatever. Mhmm. And he would kept talking about how AI is gonna change everyone's lives. And every time he mentioned AI, all the students
- 1:11:20Samantha Shere Sharpe: Would boo.
- 1:11:21Mason Sharpe: Would boo because they're taking they they feel AI is taking their jobs away.
- 1:11:24Melissa Shere Beek: It is. It is.
- 1:11:25Mason Sharpe: It also It's adds jobs just it's different. Just like coming with computers. So it changes everyone's way of I'm handling
- 1:11:33Melissa Shere Beek: boot to AI for a lot of reasons.
- 1:11:36Jessica Shere Coggins: But I bet if you were younger, you would be more into
- 1:11:38Mason Sharpe: it.
- 1:11:38Melissa Shere Beek: No. I don't think I would be. Mm-mm. I think a lot of the younger generation is because I think that's what they're gonna have growing up. It isn't that pathetic.
- 1:11:46It's just the
- 1:11:47Jessica Shere Coggins: way it's going.
- 1:11:47Melissa Shere Beek: From, like, human connection.
- 1:11:49Mason Sharpe: Yeah. But it's bad for, like, education for schools.
- 1:11:53Melissa Shere Beek: It's horrible.
- 1:11:54Mason Sharpe: Now, you do work and you're using AI to get the answer and you're
- 1:11:57Melissa Shere Beek: not really using AI. Are you learning?
- 1:12:00Jessica Shere Coggins: Do not let these kids come home and write essays or any of that.
- 1:12:03Melissa Shere Beek: They have to do it in school. Teacher No. I picks it up
- 1:12:06Jessica Shere Coggins: because everything is ruined from AI with that with that. I don't know.
- 1:12:10Melissa Shere Beek: I'm I'm anti.
- 1:12:11Jessica Shere Coggins: Okay. Next question.
- 1:12:12Mason Sharpe: Can you, like, have, like, a camera view of how many they've gone through? I mean, this is
- 1:12:15Jessica Shere Coggins: really Wait. I got a good one for you.
- 1:12:17Melissa Shere Beek: I'll take a picture. This is a good one.
- 1:12:19Mason Sharpe: Okay.
- 1:12:19Melissa Shere Beek: I like that one.
- 1:12:20Mason Sharpe: It's like a paper shredder here.
- 1:12:22Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. I know. I hope they're putting them back in the right places.
- 1:12:24Mason Sharpe: Superpower you wish you had.
- 1:12:28Melissa Shere Beek: I like that one. Mhmm.
- 1:12:29Samantha Shere Sharpe: We've done that one.
- 1:12:32Melissa Shere Beek: He's looking at both of us like help. But I He every single question he looks to Samantha to answer, help him answer. He's like, maybe he's scared he's gonna get in trouble. No. Superpower, I guess, is he read in my mind.
- 1:12:45Mason Sharpe: Be able to find, like, a money tree or something. Have to be able to afford them because they it's not easy.
- 1:12:49Jessica Shere Coggins: I like that answer. That was a great answer.
- 1:12:52Melissa Shere Beek: You need a money tree.
- 1:12:53Mason Sharpe: I love that.
- 1:12:55Melissa Shere Beek: Alright. You wanna do one last one? Yeah. Okay. One last one.
- 1:12:59Make it a good one. Is this a good one? Samantha's laughing. I
- 1:13:03Samantha Shere Sharpe: what he's gonna say.
- 1:13:04Melissa Shere Beek: You do? Okay. Give it to him. It'll be our last one. No.
- 1:13:08Cannot say Samantha.
- 1:13:09Mason Sharpe: No. What?
- 1:13:10Melissa Shere Beek: I didn't get that from this at all. Oh. I don't know what the answer what question is.
- 1:13:15Mason Sharpe: What is your greatest greatest extravagance?
- 1:13:18Melissa Shere Beek: She said her. Yeah. You can't say Sam.
- 1:13:21Samantha Shere Sharpe: No. Give her give him a different one.
- 1:13:23Melissa Shere Beek: Okay. Let's end on a good one. Okay. Okay. Unless there's anything else Unless there's a We didn't ask that you wanna share with
- 1:13:29Mason Sharpe: us. Know. Guess Sam, greatest extravagant I got a new car.
- 1:13:32Melissa Shere Beek: Uh-huh.
- 1:13:32Mason Sharpe: And it is the biggest waste.
- 1:13:34Samantha Shere Sharpe: It's not a waste. Really? Okay. He has two it's a two seater.
- 1:13:39Melissa Shere Beek: I mean and I kinda can
- 1:13:40Samantha Shere Sharpe: And take the there's no trunk.
- 1:13:42Jessica Shere Coggins: But why did he get it?
- 1:13:43Melissa Shere Beek: But he needs Please
- 1:13:44Mason Sharpe: told me.
- 1:13:45Samantha Shere Sharpe: They said No.
- 1:13:45Mason Sharpe: No. No. No.
- 1:13:46Melissa Shere Beek: They have electric cars. They they He has wanted Samantha. No. No. No.
- 1:13:51Samantha.
- 1:13:51Samantha Shere Sharpe: He has wanted this car for so long, and we have one child left at home. Right. So he should get it. Right. But the problem was he
- 1:13:58Melissa Shere Beek: got So they it knew wanted it, man.
- 1:14:00Samantha Shere Sharpe: No. He got it over the summer when we had everybody, five of us in the house with a child that so we have three cars, five five drivers, okay? He goes to work. He and that's that car. Bria was working.
- 1:14:17She had her car. So it was down to my car. So it was between me and Stella. And there was a day where I needed to do something. Stella needed to go to work.
- 1:14:25She didn't have a ride to work. And was your car maybe home at the time? I think you were home
- 1:14:31Melissa Shere Beek: at the I whatever it is,
- 1:14:32Samantha Shere Sharpe: he didn't want anybody driving his fancy car, and I get it. It just was that he got it. If he had gotten it right now when we were down to nobody at that well, only Bre and she has her own. We have a car for each person. It was fine.
- 1:14:45But So he do like
- 1:14:45Melissa Shere Beek: it now? He loves it. It's gorgeous.
- 1:14:48Mason Sharpe: But it's not practical.
- 1:14:48Melissa Shere Beek: Like, it's Yeah. But you you don't need it.
- 1:14:50Samantha Shere Sharpe: It wasn't impractical during the summer when we had three cars and five drivers.
- 1:14:54Mason Sharpe: I mean, maybe the good thing is too is when we go shopping, she has to buy less stuff because they can't fit into
- 1:14:59Samantha Shere Sharpe: the His bunk is coming.
- 1:15:00Melissa Shere Beek: Don't worry. She'll take her own car and do that right after She'll have it shipped
- 1:15:03Jessica Shere Coggins: to the
- 1:15:04Mason Sharpe: house. But it's just it's frustrating.
- 1:15:05Melissa Shere Beek: Don't have shipped to the house. None. Yeah. I like his car. Okay.
- 1:15:08What? Final one? Yeah. Let's pick the final one.
- 1:15:11Mason Sharpe: Wasn't the last one the final
- 1:15:12Melissa Shere Beek: one? No. No. It's okay. We like to use rules around.
- 1:15:14Samantha Shere Sharpe: Yes. They change the rules
- 1:15:15Melissa Shere Beek: every time.
- 1:15:16Mason Sharpe: Speaking of which, one rule you live by?
- 1:15:18Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. Oh.
- 1:15:21Jessica Shere Coggins: Not Samantha or the kids. You.
- 1:15:24Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. Don't look to your wife for answers.
- 1:15:25Mason Sharpe: No. I don't know. I just think you just gotta be respectful for everyone.
- 1:15:28Samantha Shere Sharpe: I like it.
- 1:15:29Mason Sharpe: You know? Because you never know who you're gonna be around and you don't wanna burn your bridges. It's a lot easier to be nicer to someone than not.
- 1:15:36Samantha Shere Sharpe: Oh, what's your rule? Give us your rule.
- 1:15:38Melissa Shere Beek: You have
- 1:15:39Samantha Shere Sharpe: to fold it back up. This is one thing I will tell you that Smith, this something all that is so Mason and I think my whole house is like, lived I by his don't know.
- 1:15:50Melissa Shere Beek: I tried on LinkedIn 100.
- 1:15:52Mason Sharpe: Oh, okay.
- 1:15:53Samantha Shere Sharpe: This is something he is like engraved into our heads.
- 1:15:57Mason Sharpe: I think I've said it a few times that my wife loves it. So she always tells
- 1:16:01Melissa Shere Beek: Tell people in it our listeners.
- 1:16:03Mason Sharpe: It's one of the few classes that I learned a lot
- 1:16:05Melissa Shere Beek: Uh-huh.
- 1:16:06Mason Sharpe: Over at BU. And it was a one ten, 100 rule where it's basically like for every one person that you make happy, they'll tell 10 other people. But for every one person you upset, they're gonna tell a 100. But that was back before social media. Now with social media, now it's like the one ten ten thousand rule
- 1:16:24Melissa Shere Beek: or something
- 1:16:24Mason Sharpe: like that. So you always wanna please people. Don't because you upset someone, that news that word's gonna spread a lot faster.
- 1:16:30Melissa Shere Beek: I think it's So what do you do when you Yeah. Have thought about
- 1:16:33Mason Sharpe: So so like a lot of times, if I go somewhere
- 1:16:36Samantha Shere Sharpe: A restaurant.
- 1:16:37Mason Sharpe: A restaurant or a hotel or a store or whatever, and someone that that's helping me does a really
- 1:16:41Melissa Shere Beek: good I always think that. You always Right?
- 1:16:44Mason Sharpe: I wanna speak to a manager.
- 1:16:45Samantha Shere Sharpe: And they get all scared.
- 1:16:46Melissa Shere Beek: But
- 1:16:46Mason Sharpe: they yeah. Usually because I tell the manager, say, I know. Like, when you ask for a manager, the only time you ask is when there's a problem. But if someone does something good, no one ever asks for the manager.
- 1:16:56Melissa Shere Beek: I always do.
- 1:16:57Mason Sharpe: Right. But not you're one of the few people. Because most people, the only time you ask for a manager is to complain. No. So I like that if someone's doing a good job Yeah.
- 1:17:04Helping me, just it doesn't hurt. There's nothing there's no penalty in doing that. Just go and tell them.
- 1:17:09Melissa Shere Beek: Catch everybody doing great things, and then I also say, you you should always be kind to everybody anyways, because you never know what anybody's going through. I yeah. That's a good one too. And I feel like your smile or your acknowledgement or your kindness
- 1:17:22Samantha Shere Sharpe: a door for somebody. Hold it open. Yeah. I say thank you.
- 1:17:26Jessica Shere Coggins: I I do appreciate it.
- 1:17:27Melissa Shere Beek: Just need to be kind. The world needs a lot more kindness. Yeah. So Mason
- 1:17:32Mason Sharpe: That's a great way to close
- 1:17:33Melissa Shere Beek: it out. Did you like this?
- 1:17:34Samantha Shere Sharpe: This is fun.
- 1:17:35Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. Could
- 1:17:36Mason Sharpe: really answer
- 1:17:37Melissa Shere Beek: the studio?
- 1:17:38Samantha Shere Sharpe: Be fun?
- 1:17:38Melissa Shere Beek: If you wish
- 1:17:39Samantha Shere Sharpe: like, there's one one thing that you could discuss, what would it be? Like, one thing you could on
- 1:17:45Melissa Shere Beek: today. I know.
- 1:17:46Samantha Shere Sharpe: I think that We
- 1:17:47Mason Sharpe: can talk about
- 1:17:47Samantha Shere Sharpe: think sports. Celsius is kicking in.
- 1:17:49Melissa Shere Beek: That's her her drink. She's like
- 1:17:51Samantha Shere Sharpe: I'm not burping the blueberry I don't I have my blueberry coffee today.
- 1:17:55Melissa Shere Beek: Thank god. Is there anything we didn't discuss that you wanted to discuss? Oh, that's a good one.
- 1:17:59Mason Sharpe: That's good. But our actually
- 1:18:02Melissa Shere Beek: gonna answer the questions we give you. Yeah. Is there anything that you wanted to discuss that we didn't ask you in the beginning?
- 1:18:08Mason Sharpe: You asked, like, really good questions.
- 1:18:10Melissa Shere Beek: Okay. What about the dynamic between the three of us?
- 1:18:13Mason Sharpe: I thought you started off the beginning, like, what the differences are
- 1:18:15Samantha Shere Sharpe: between just saw we did. Right?
- 1:18:16Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. I started off, like, about but I I set us as a group. You only you only pointed out me. You said that I was level headed.
- 1:18:24Mason Sharpe: No. Wait. Jessica I'm loud. She's she's changed over time.
- 1:18:28Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. You said Jessica.
- 1:18:29Mason Sharpe: Right.
- 1:18:30Melissa Shere Beek: And your wife is just your wife. Yeah. Okay. So watch out what he
- 1:18:33Samantha Shere Sharpe: says because
- 1:18:34Melissa Shere Beek: has to go home to you.
- 1:18:35Samantha Shere Sharpe: Yeah. He's They're sleeping in
- 1:18:36Jessica Shere Coggins: the same bed. Okay.
- 1:18:38Melissa Shere Beek: We should
- 1:18:38Jessica Shere Coggins: come with
- 1:18:39Melissa Shere Beek: I had questions. Is she feisty at home? Does she rule the roost?
- 1:18:42Samantha Shere Sharpe: Of course.
- 1:18:44Mason Sharpe: You're supposed to make her think that she does. Okay. I do a good job at that, I think. Right?
- 1:18:48Melissa Shere Beek: I know.
- 1:18:48Mason Sharpe: I do. Right. See? She it works.
- 1:18:50Melissa Shere Beek: Look at you.
- 1:18:51Samantha Shere Sharpe: Have me doubting. I do. Yeah.
- 1:18:53Melissa Shere Beek: What what question? What other questions? Oh, all the questions.
- 1:18:56Samantha Shere Sharpe: Wanna know about her.
- 1:18:58Jessica Shere Coggins: Through him.
- 1:18:58Melissa Shere Beek: What do
- 1:18:58Samantha Shere Sharpe: you wanna know?
- 1:19:00Melissa Shere Beek: I mean, is she still a screamer? Because she's a screamer. She was a screamer. He cheated. Looks to her to get the answers for He's scaring you.
- 1:19:09He's not answering a damn question. Has to get
- 1:19:12Samantha Shere Sharpe: him in when she's not
- 1:19:15Melissa Shere Beek: over there.
- 1:19:16Samantha Shere Sharpe: Think he's I don't think
- 1:19:17Melissa Shere Beek: he's looking at me because a scam booth. Think he's still screaming. I'm
- 1:19:21Mason Sharpe: wondering, like, in what situation he's
- 1:19:23Samantha Shere Sharpe: She gonna kinda gets
- 1:19:25Melissa Shere Beek: like a The level of information that he gives is gonna be the level of backlash he's gonna get with me now. No.
- 1:19:33Samantha Shere Sharpe: No. You won't
- 1:19:34Melissa Shere Beek: get any backlash.
- 1:19:34Mason Sharpe: I'm talking about if she's a screamer, like, in what what regard?
- 1:19:37Melissa Shere Beek: She's kinda like you know
- 1:19:38Samantha Shere Sharpe: that dog Not that faces fine.
- 1:19:39Melissa Shere Beek: Turn in that regard. No. Okay.
- 1:19:41Samantha Shere Sharpe: We're doing it all the time.
- 1:19:44Mason Sharpe: You see? We're talking about like We
- 1:19:46Melissa Shere Beek: already had that. We already had two with her. No. His face just dropped.
- 1:19:53Mason Sharpe: I don't know. Okay.
- 1:19:54Melissa Shere Beek: What? We talk lots of things. No. Like, in the sense that, like like you said, you've never seen me raise my voice or do, like, you know, anything like that. Oh, I
- 1:20:02Samantha Shere Sharpe: can scream.
- 1:20:03Melissa Shere Beek: MASA in a normal conversation can just go off.
- 1:20:07Mason Sharpe: Oh, yeah. Yeah. No. Like, she's taught that very well with our daughters. So when all three of them had this they had this high pitch Mhmm.
- 1:20:13You can't tell who's who. They it's
- 1:20:16Melissa Shere Beek: I don't understand her, though. She's like it spins off. Like, she just
- 1:20:22Samantha Shere Sharpe: Right? I haven't done that in long I'm not perfect either. I haven't done that in a while, though.
- 1:20:27Melissa Shere Beek: One day I don't know. You haven't called me back in a month. One day, I knew I knew Mason was in trouble because I saw him and Doug in the corner talking, and they were very serious. Really? He's on trouble.
- 1:20:41Mason Sharpe: I don't know. I don't remember this.
- 1:20:43Melissa Shere Beek: Oh, you came to Doug. You're like, I'm a little concerned. What do you do when?
- 1:20:48Jessica Shere Coggins: That's so funny. Yeah.
- 1:20:49Mason Sharpe: It was a big help because, you know, I don't have, like, another guy to ask
- 1:20:54Melissa Shere Beek: Yeah. Back then. This family Yeah. That understands the dynamics of all the players in this circus. Yeah.
- 1:21:01He doesn't have.
- 1:21:02Samantha Shere Sharpe: Yeah.
- 1:21:02Melissa Shere Beek: You know? Yeah. I hope Doug was helpful.
- 1:21:05Mason Sharpe: Oh, very helpful. Yeah. No. It's But except the shopping part. He went along with that stuff, though.
- 1:21:11So or you didn't shop as much.
- 1:21:12Melissa Shere Beek: Okay. One, I'm not a shopper. And also, my husband's always like, well, if you like it in green, get it in black too. Like so he never really, like, cared about any of those things. And so but I also am not at the, like Level.
- 1:21:25Yeah. I don't buy lots. Like, if I'm gonna invest, I'm gonna invest in, like, great things that are gonna last through the years.
- 1:21:35Mason Sharpe: Well, no. She does that too. Like, the Stanley Cups,
- 1:21:39Melissa Shere Beek: they last forever.
- 1:21:40Mason Sharpe: No. But you still need 70 of them
- 1:21:41Melissa Shere Beek: because you never White is a bit more trendy than I am.
- 1:21:45Mason Sharpe: Yeah. Every different colors.
- 1:21:46Melissa Shere Beek: Like, she she likes all the Whatever she sees on, like, me. TikTok or something.
- 1:21:50Mason Sharpe: She's an impulse Yes.
- 1:21:52Melissa Shere Beek: Yes.
- 1:21:52Samantha Shere Sharpe: It does something to It's not an impulse buyer. I'm just indecisive. Like, I don't know what color I want. So I'd rather get them all the colors, see it, and then return them.
- 1:22:03Melissa Shere Beek: And then
- 1:22:03Jessica Shere Coggins: you don't return it.
- 1:22:04Melissa Shere Beek: You don't return it. They're all there. Then you give away the return.
- 1:22:07Samantha Shere Sharpe: Okay. I'll return. Next question. No. I think done.
- 1:22:10Oh, okay.
- 1:22:12Melissa Shere Beek: Now, we have a good this is very light. Where are all the rest of these?
- 1:22:16Mason Sharpe: Here's here's something.
- 1:22:17Melissa Shere Beek: So many.
- 1:22:19Mason Sharpe: You gotta you asked me so many.
- 1:22:20Jessica Shere Coggins: That bag was heavy,
- 1:22:21Samantha Shere Sharpe: I thought.
- 1:22:22Melissa Shere Beek: Samantha, you gotta pull these gotta
- 1:22:23Jessica Shere Coggins: pull those too.
- 1:22:24Mason Sharpe: Wait. So what was your opinion about when I came into the family?
- 1:22:26Melissa Shere Beek: Oh. Oh. That's a good question, This
- 1:22:31Samantha Shere Sharpe: is the episode that's never gonna end.
- 1:22:33Melissa Shere Beek: No. I my opinion I I thought you were a good match for her. Oh. Because I thought you were very grounding for her. Wasn't really happy with some of the other guys that she dated.
- 1:22:42Mhmm. And so I thought you were, like, a good match because when she brought her level up here, you were okay with it. And when she was here, you were okay with it. And whatever, crazy idea she had, you went with the program. Probably didn't have a choice.
- 1:22:58No, I think he was happy to have a hot little blonde. I think he was really like, yeah. I think like yeah. I mean, that's why I he's he's looking to you for every answer. We needed to put you in the in the sound booth over there.
- 1:23:12Mason Sharpe: No answer involved for that. I'll let you know.
- 1:23:14Melissa Shere Beek: I thought you were good match. And then what I thought was well, what was really, really funny so there's two things that always jump out now that you just said this. One was that you were really sweet when my girls were little and you took them to Oh, Parent Jungle. Parent Jungle and everything like And you took them on a date with you guys when you were dating. Are you doing that?
- 1:23:33Yeah. Never that.
- 1:23:35Mason Sharpe: And Monkey
- 1:23:35Melissa Shere Beek: Do you remember it? No. Not Monkey Jungle. You went to Parrot Jungle down a 112. Oh, it was there then?
- 1:23:40Was there at the tent at the time. And then the other thing wait. It just left my head. Fuck. Oh.
- 1:23:46Oh, no.
- 1:23:47Samantha Shere Sharpe: I won't say Are you going through?
- 1:23:50Melissa Shere Beek: No. I'm already a menopause. I totally fucking own that shit. Fuck. What was the other thing that stuck in my mind?
- 1:23:57Mason Sharpe: Jessica will answer then we'll get back to you
- 1:23:58Samantha Shere Sharpe: on that.
- 1:23:59Melissa Shere Beek: Okay. Yeah. Really? I've been in the space.
- 1:24:01Jessica Shere Coggins: I don't think I was around.
- 1:24:03Melissa Shere Beek: I was in college when you listen to or
- 1:24:04Mason Sharpe: think maybe was it when your father had a emergency and then you had to fly in and then we had to see you?
- 1:24:11Samantha Shere Sharpe: You were in the car with Joanne and Jerry. No.
- 1:24:12Jessica Shere Coggins: I had to meet you before then. I'm pretty sure. I just don't remember. I was away.
- 1:24:17Melissa Shere Beek: Was far far away. I was in college or I was living in New York. One or the other. Remember the other thing. But you grew on me.
- 1:24:25They were very funny. Thought I you were I didn't I didn't mind you. I mean, you
- 1:24:29Jessica Shere Coggins: made my sister happy, so that's all that really mattered to me.
- 1:24:32Melissa Shere Beek: But I have learned I mean,
- 1:24:34Jessica Shere Coggins: this is I've learned now for ten years. We're not talking a couple years. I've learned to
- 1:24:38Melissa Shere Beek: get you and understand you. Yeah. A lot.
- 1:24:40Samantha Shere Sharpe: I think both of you got to learn
- 1:24:41Melissa Shere Beek: to get back. You.
- 1:24:43Jessica Shere Coggins: I enjoy your company.
- 1:24:44Melissa Shere Beek: I I
- 1:24:44Mason Sharpe: think Thank you.
- 1:24:45Melissa Shere Beek: I like it. Yeah.
- 1:24:46Mason Sharpe: Because I know your mom hated the sarcasm, but you're one of the that, like, stuck up
- 1:24:50Jessica Shere Coggins: for me.
- 1:24:50Melissa Shere Beek: I think you're hysterical. We get the sarcasm. She doesn't get jokes. No. She doesn't understand No.
- 1:24:54Samantha Shere Sharpe: But his jokes are, like,
- 1:24:56Melissa Shere Beek: really funny. They're not just singers. They're like they've got
- 1:24:58Jessica Shere Coggins: There is some
- 1:24:58Melissa Shere Beek: a very dry sense of humor, but there's depth to it.
- 1:25:01Jessica Shere Coggins: It's so funny. He says these funny things.
- 1:25:03Melissa Shere Beek: I I need
- 1:25:03Mason Sharpe: get around more often.
- 1:25:04Melissa Shere Beek: It's free.
- 1:25:05Jessica Shere Coggins: Yeah. I'll hype you up all the time, Mason.
- 1:25:06Melissa Shere Beek: We're gonna have fun in Mexico. The funny thing, that Samantha didn't get in the beginning because football or doing something or, like, being part of some sports thing or whatever. Was it was really funny. It was very funny seeing the dynamics of the two of you, like, when you got engaged and your opinions on her bridal stuff. Oh, jeez.
- 1:25:42Samantha Shere Sharpe: That we'll save for another episode.
- 1:25:44Melissa Shere Beek: That it was just funny. It was just funny. And then, like
- 1:25:47Samantha Shere Sharpe: He was very involved.
- 1:25:47Melissa Shere Beek: I think you were always up for anything. I think that was I think that was a great plus for this family because nothing really fazed you. And you were game for anything that happened.
- 1:25:59Samantha Shere Sharpe: You wanted to be a part of everything. Yeah. Everything.
- 1:26:01Jessica Shere Coggins: Yeah. My
- 1:26:03Melissa Shere Beek: god. I wanted to
- 1:26:04Mason Sharpe: stay home too long to stay.
- 1:26:05Samantha Shere Sharpe: Be FOMO. I mean, really.
- 1:26:07Melissa Shere Beek: Definitely think Mason has FOMO. If I
- 1:26:08Jessica Shere Coggins: had no choice either back then. No. No.
- 1:26:10Samantha Shere Sharpe: No. He has FOMO.
- 1:26:11Melissa Shere Beek: No. He wanted to go. I think he had FOMO.
- 1:26:12Samantha Shere Sharpe: He still does it.
- 1:26:13Melissa Shere Beek: He's still
- 1:26:13Samantha Shere Sharpe: in denial with FOMO.
- 1:26:16Melissa Shere Beek: Like being a part
- 1:26:17Mason Sharpe: of it. She likes to remind me that
- 1:26:19Samantha Shere Sharpe: on a now. I'm on a podcast now. Good
- 1:26:23Melissa Shere Beek: for him. I don't need to
- 1:26:25Mason Sharpe: do that.
- 1:26:25Samantha Shere Sharpe: He's say No. No. He watches no.
- 1:26:28Melissa Shere Beek: What he says? He goes, I don't need to do that because you're gonna do that.
- 1:26:30Samantha Shere Sharpe: No. He watches the sisters episodes, and every time his name is mentioned, he likes He's his name. He's
- 1:26:36Melissa Shere Beek: like, but you're in the right place. Opposite could be Mason. Because Mason always calls and has these opinions. You know, I really liked how you did this. You handled your mom this way, and I liked when you did this.
- 1:26:48Yeah. He does do He's actually giving constructive criticism, but nobody else is telling me anything. And Mason's like, yeah, this was good and that was that. He does that too with me. Know it really.
- 1:26:57Mason Sharpe: No. I remember the first one that I listened to, I was really impressed.
- 1:27:01Jessica Shere Coggins: Oh, you're so sweet.
- 1:27:02Mason Sharpe: Because it's it's obviously, I've never done it. But, like, how to to manage it and have it structured and
- 1:27:07Samantha Shere Sharpe: to because he listens to so many podcasts. So like, the fact that he can actually see how it happens. Yeah. Pretty cool, Yeah.
- 1:27:13Melissa Shere Beek: That you really
- 1:27:13Mason Sharpe: have to a lot Steven. That's pretty cool.
- 1:27:15Melissa Shere Beek: Steven is the coolest.
- 1:27:16Mason Sharpe: If you wanna know what I'm gonna brag about, it's I'm gonna
- 1:27:19Jessica Shere Coggins: I'm Do gonna brag
- 1:27:19Melissa Shere Beek: about Steven? He is the coolest. Yeah.
- 1:27:21Jessica Shere Coggins: Like, Steven's this anomaly. You know? Like, we always talk about him.
- 1:27:25Samantha Shere Sharpe: No. He could just turn his chair around. He can be part of the conversation already. He knows so much about us.
- 1:27:29Melissa Shere Beek: Oh my god. He does. No. I'm gonna get him on one day. We're gonna get dirt.
- 1:27:32We're gonna hear all the things he has to say about
- 1:27:35Samantha Shere Sharpe: He probably has signed us some.
- 1:27:37Melissa Shere Beek: Signed us on something?
- 1:27:38Samantha Shere Sharpe: No. He signed some ND.
- 1:27:39Melissa Shere Beek: ND. Yeah. No. I meant on us.
- 1:27:43Jessica Shere Coggins: I would love hear your opinions on us.
- 1:27:45Melissa Shere Beek: No. We should have gotten
- 1:27:46Samantha Shere Sharpe: that when we first started, what he thought of each one of us. And then, like, now we can go to him and go, has your opinion changed?
- 1:27:52Mason Sharpe: See, you asked him before about, like, what type of character do you does he re does he Yeah. Remind you Super. So yeah. Know those things.
- 1:28:00Samantha Shere Sharpe: Yeah. Oh, you remember that from a prior episode?
- 1:28:02Mason Sharpe: You remember what he said about you?
- 1:28:03Melissa Shere Beek: He watches them more than once.
