Humboldt County just took a major step forward in supporting victims and witnesses by hiring a full-time Victim Services Coordinator — who also gets to bring along a therapy dog named Charlie, a two-year-old Goldendoodle. With $52,700 in Nevada grant funding, the program offers crisis support, safety planning, court navigation, and resource connections — all designed to make the justice system more trauma-informed.
