- 0:43Speaker 2: Yeah, we will be airing all of these really sweet
- 0:46Speaker 2: messages throughout the week as we head towards Mother's Day.
- 0:49Speaker 4: Yeah, kind of like this one.
- 0:51Speaker 3: She's awesome because she's give me drinks and she's nice
- 0:55Speaker 3: and she gives me snaphs.
- 0:56Speaker 2: And drinks and she loves me and she loves my
- 0:59Speaker 2: brother and me.
- 1:00Speaker 4: I bye, you see, I love that. I'm hope so cute.
- 1:03Speaker 1: I'm hoping That's all I gotta do for baby g
- 1:05Speaker 1: all right, get you some time, get you some drinks. Yeah,
- 1:08Speaker 1: all right, easy to afford that love with Mother's Day
- 1:12Speaker 1: coming up on Sunday and all the love we're gonna
- 1:14Speaker 1: share it with moms this week. This is the next,
- 1:17Speaker 1: like I don't know, three or two and a half
- 1:19Speaker 1: minutes where we can admit that there was once upon
- 1:23Speaker 1: a time mom was wrong. Now I know that's you
- 1:25Speaker 1: and far in between. I know that's not even a sentence,
- 1:28Speaker 1: and he knows how to say, but no, was your
- 1:32Speaker 1: mom or you as a mom, ever wrong? And you
- 1:36Speaker 1: know what, sometimes the first step to healing is admitting
- 1:40Speaker 1: when you made a mistake.
- 1:41Speaker 2: I as a mother, I try my best to admit
- 1:45Speaker 2: when I am wrong, and I even apologize, which is
- 1:47Speaker 2: not something I learned from my mother. Because my mother
- 1:50Speaker 2: has never been wrong. She's never made any mistakes ever.
- 1:54Speaker 2: And that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
- 1:55Speaker 3: However, there was one time that.
- 1:59Speaker 2: She was wrong on such a level that when she
- 2:02Speaker 2: thinks about it to this day, she feels weird and bad.
- 2:06Speaker 3: And it was something that happened with my older brother.
- 2:10Speaker 2: And I first want to say, everything's fine, he's thriving.
- 2:13Speaker 3: My brother is what forty four?
- 2:16Speaker 2: I think at this point, like he's fine, everything's great.
- 2:19Speaker 2: But back when he was twenty three, he had noticed
- 2:23Speaker 2: a lump down there when he took a shower, and
- 2:27Speaker 2: he told my mom and she said, I'm sure it's fine,
- 2:31Speaker 2: just put calumine lotion on it, the care to all.
- 2:35Speaker 3: And he thought, hey, not the best advice. So he went.
- 2:39Speaker 2: To the doctor and turns out he had stage two
- 2:43Speaker 2: testicular cancer.
- 2:45Speaker 4: Oh yeah, a little more serious calm.
- 2:48Speaker 3: So when he told my mom, she was mortified. Hi,
- 2:55Speaker 3: O me, why goolease, I'm so sorry. Hi the old meal.
- 3:01Speaker 3: She was just so beside herself.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Yeah, that her advice was calimi motion versus going to
- 3:08Speaker 2: the doctor. Thankfully, everything's fine, got rid of the cancer.
- 3:12Speaker 2: He's good, he's thriving. It didn't even even affect anything.
- 3:16Speaker 2: He's got twin boys, like he's thriving. But to this day,
- 3:20Speaker 2: my mom will sometimes think back to that time and
- 3:23Speaker 2: be like, ie, your meal, I cannot believe I told
- 3:27Speaker 2: him to put calumine lotion.
- 3:30Speaker 3: He needs to go to the doctor.
- 3:32Speaker 2: And so now anytime anything happens with any of us,
- 3:35Speaker 2: her first thing is go to the doctor.
- 3:38Speaker 4: She learned from her mistakes, learned from her mistakes.
- 3:40Speaker 3: But other than that, my mother has never been wrong.
- 3:42Speaker 1: It's funny you say this and on a less serious level.
- 3:45Speaker 1: But there was once upon a time my sister was
- 3:48Speaker 1: I think she was in fifth grade around that age,
- 3:51Speaker 1: and she had told my mom, for like two days,
- 3:53Speaker 1: my arm really hurts. I don't know what the problem is,
- 3:56Speaker 1: but my arm hurts, and so you know, you do
- 3:58Speaker 1: the old ice the ass brain, and after a couple
- 4:01Speaker 1: of days, nothing worked, and my mom finally brought her
- 4:03Speaker 1: to the doctor. It turns out my younger sister had
- 4:06Speaker 1: just been walking around with a broken arm or two days. Yeah,
- 4:11Speaker 1: there was something in her arm that had like buckled
- 4:14Speaker 1: under something, so it didn't look super weird, right or
- 4:17Speaker 1: obviously broken, but yeah, she's just functioning as a human
- 4:21Speaker 1: for two days with a broken arm and had to
- 4:23Speaker 1: go and then you know, had to do the cast
- 4:25Speaker 1: and the whole cards. There was one time my mom
- 4:28Speaker 1: was wrong and this was the stupidest thing, but it's
- 4:30Speaker 1: what she said after that really opened my eyes to
- 4:34Speaker 1: my mother and my relationship. And we're obviously we love
- 4:37Speaker 1: each other, Dailly, but yeah, we were talking in front
- 4:40Speaker 1: of the whole family about some song that was on
- 4:43Speaker 1: some Keith Urban album. Okay, okay, so the stupidest family conversation,
- 4:48Speaker 1: and my mom said, oh, it's on this album. And
- 4:51Speaker 1: I was like, well, no, it's on Golden Road, and
- 4:53Speaker 1: she goes, I don't think so. And I was telling, well,
- 4:55Speaker 1: I know the answer. I'm not thinking like I know,
- 4:59Speaker 1: and she was like, no, I'm gonna look it up.
- 5:01Speaker 1: And she looked it up and lo and behold, I
- 5:04Speaker 1: was right.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Now.
- 5:05Speaker 1: There is the only thing worse for my mother than
- 5:09Speaker 1: being wrong is me being right. When she at the
- 5:12Speaker 1: end of it, she goes, you know, I don't even
- 5:14Speaker 1: care when I'm wrong, because I'm wrong a lot, but
- 5:16Speaker 1: I just really hate when i'm wrong and you're right.
- 5:19Speaker 1: In the scenario.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Your mother and I have that in common because you.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Know, I'll remember it for years so I can tell
- 5:26Speaker 1: people about it.
- 5:27Speaker 4: On Big ninety eight point.
- 5:28Speaker 5: Seven celebrating life's little victories. Every morning we practice gratitude
- 5:37Speaker 5: on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 5:39Speaker 6: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 5:41Speaker 6: plastic job, bust out when it was someone's acting hard.
- 5:44Speaker 5: Share your little victories with us at seven oh one
- 5:47Speaker 5: two eight oho one ninety eight.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Seven kids, I also needed to win that day, and.
- 5:52Speaker 1: A big shout out to Fallon, who had a little
- 5:54Speaker 1: victory for us today. Angie She said she broke her
- 5:57Speaker 1: leg and needed surgery, but she took her first shower
- 6:01Speaker 1: standing up in two months, so congratulations, Satuations.
- 6:06Speaker 4: That's kind of a long recovery process.
- 6:08Speaker 1: But those little steps, those little things that you you
- 6:11Speaker 1: don't even think about, Like it when you go take
- 6:14Speaker 1: a shower every day, you know you're likely standing up
- 6:16Speaker 1: for a chunk of it or all of it. Like
- 6:18Speaker 1: I am, yeah, could to not be able to do that,
- 6:20Speaker 1: it's kind of a weird thing to think about.
- 6:22Speaker 4: So you don't really realize what you have till it's gone.
- 6:25Speaker 3: I'm so happy for Fallon.
- 6:26Speaker 2: That means, like you know, she's turning a corner and
- 6:28Speaker 2: recovery is only getting better.
- 6:30Speaker 3: So congrats Fallin.
- 6:31Speaker 4: That's right, Angie, do have a little victory for me
- 6:34Speaker 4: this morning?
- 6:34Speaker 2: I do, And I feel like for the next few months,
- 6:39Speaker 2: until I get in a shape that isn't round, mine
- 6:43Speaker 2: are going to be more like health and fitness.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Related ah boo. I like when they were food, well.
- 6:50Speaker 2: I ordered sparkling Oh how do I say protein? Sparkling
- 6:56Speaker 2: water like sparkling water, but it's infused with protein.
- 7:00Speaker 4: There's a sit ince I never thought i'd hear.
- 7:03Speaker 2: No, it's because it's so important to get a lot
- 7:05Speaker 2: of protein in your not as much as people be
- 7:08Speaker 2: trying to tell you, but an amount of protein to
- 7:11Speaker 2: really help your muscles not deteriorate.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Deteriorate. Am I going through something?
- 7:17Speaker 4: It is six twelve?
- 7:18Speaker 2: It's six twelve as especially as a woman, like as
- 7:22Speaker 2: a woman, and as you're getting older, which I'm only
- 7:25Speaker 2: getting older, you need more protein because your muscular, skeletal
- 7:29Speaker 2: blah blah blah, all the things.
- 7:30Speaker 3: So you need more protein.
- 7:31Speaker 2: And it's hard to get protein in a lot of
- 7:34Speaker 2: times as a vegan because I don't eat traditional sources
- 7:38Speaker 2: of protein.
- 7:38Speaker 4: I don't know, you're not house and chicken and turkey
- 7:40Speaker 4: on the erectly, so I.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Do a lot of like soy and tofu and whatever.
- 7:45Speaker 2: And I thought I need something to bump up my
- 7:47Speaker 2: protein numbers, and so I finally bit the bullet. And
- 7:50Speaker 2: it was kind of more expensive than I would have wanted,
- 7:53Speaker 2: but they arrived yesterday, my protein sparkling waters. So I'm
- 7:57Speaker 2: going to have one today at six point thirty and
- 8:00Speaker 2: I'll let you know if it.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Was worth it or not.
- 8:02Speaker 2: But I'm excited that I, you know, took the initiative
- 8:05Speaker 2: to try and get more protein in my life and
- 8:08Speaker 2: hopefully via form.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Of sparkling water good for you. I'm gonna have to
- 8:12Speaker 1: take one tiny sip of that, y. Yeah, my little victory.
- 8:16Speaker 1: And this is all credit and kudos to my wife, Corey.
- 8:20Speaker 1: She's one of those organized people. Yes, you know, she
- 8:24Speaker 1: loves putting things in the right spot in the right
- 8:28Speaker 1: drawer and then well and then in two weeks changing
- 8:32Speaker 1: it completely so I don't know where it is, but
- 8:35Speaker 1: she does like organizing things. There's maybe she doesn't like
- 8:37Speaker 1: doing it, but she likes when it's done. Yeah. But
- 8:40Speaker 1: our nursery baby room is pretty much completely all done.
- 8:45Speaker 1: We have mountainous amounts of diapers, which is wonderful.
- 8:48Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 8:48Speaker 4: All the clothes are hung up in.
- 8:50Speaker 1: These cute little pink hangers that I went and bought
- 8:54Speaker 1: to the Little forbait. They are the cutest little things
- 8:56Speaker 1: of all time. Maybe I'll throw a picture of that
- 8:58Speaker 1: up at some point on Big ninety point seven on
- 9:00Speaker 1: Facebook page.
- 9:01Speaker 4: But kudos to my wife, you know, she kind of went.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Through all of the baby shower gifts, yeah, and got
- 9:07Speaker 1: it organized how she likes it. And then in three
- 9:09Speaker 1: weeks when I can't find whatever, it is. It's because
- 9:11Speaker 1: she moved it and I didn't know.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Listen, she's probably nesting right now. Let her be. Let
- 9:16Speaker 3: her do whatever she.
- 9:17Speaker 4: Was, that's right.
- 9:18Speaker 1: But it's nice to have that room basically done and
- 9:20Speaker 1: we can really it's just missing a baby now at
- 9:23Speaker 1: this point, there just cats and dogs kind of that
- 9:26Speaker 1: have to suffice until then as they wander around in there.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Now, if you don't know who, that is, a little
- 9:37Speaker 4: bowling for soup.
- 9:38Speaker 1: And there's a reason I am playing that background music
- 9:41Speaker 1: for you right now because I didn't realize I was
- 9:43Speaker 1: such a trendsetter, Angie, I am so cool.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Okay, sure, but why so?
- 9:51Speaker 1: You know every single day at about nine fifteen ish
- 9:55Speaker 1: or so, your boy, once in a blue moon, will
- 9:59Speaker 1: dive into some less dovers. What do I eat the
- 10:01Speaker 1: other ninety seven percent of the time? Why, my guy,
- 10:05Speaker 1: you eat soup. I have single handedly kept chunky chicken
- 10:11Speaker 1: noodle soup in business buy myself for ten to fifteen years.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I don't even want to know the amount of money
- 10:19Speaker 1: I have spent on canned soup.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Honestly, you really are a sup officionado anytime.
- 10:24Speaker 3: I mean, we did an Easter egg hunt for you.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Earlier this year, which was cans of soup and behind eggs,
- 10:32Speaker 2: Like you are a soup connoisseur even at this point.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Well, what I'm glad to find out is more Americans.
- 10:39Speaker 1: They're jumping on board with me here, Angie. More Americans
- 10:42Speaker 1: are swapping traditional sugary breakfasts like cereal and pancakes for
- 10:48Speaker 1: savory options, especially soup. This trend is driven by a
- 10:53Speaker 1: desire for like a balanced, protein rich meal that provides
- 10:57Speaker 1: steady energy instead of quick sugar, spice and crashes. Of course,
- 11:01Speaker 1: that's what I think about every day when I eat
- 11:03Speaker 1: that around nine to fifteen.
- 11:04Speaker 8: Ah.
- 11:05Speaker 1: No, it all started because I was too lazy to
- 11:08Speaker 1: ever bring anything or remember anything. Yeah, that I could
- 11:11Speaker 1: just bring the can of soup and throw it in
- 11:13Speaker 1: the microwave. I do it out of laziness, not out
- 11:15Speaker 1: of intelligence.
- 11:17Speaker 2: But now you are a trendset. You are doing the
- 11:20Speaker 2: thing that everyone's doing.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Now.
- 11:21Speaker 2: This is crazy to me though, because in my head
- 11:24Speaker 2: it makes sense for you to have soup at nine am,
- 11:27Speaker 2: because for us, I feel like that's lunch.
- 11:29Speaker 4: Time, that's halfway through the day, that's halfway through the day.
- 11:32Speaker 2: So while you're eating soup, I'm not eating cereal. I'm
- 11:35Speaker 2: eating like some sort of a savory thing too. For
- 11:39Speaker 2: people to actually get up in the morning and start
- 11:43Speaker 2: their day with a bowl of soup, that is crazy work.
- 11:46Speaker 4: It is not beautiful. I don't like it now.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Experts say, Angie, you'll like this as someone on a
- 11:51Speaker 1: bit of a health run here.
- 11:52Speaker 4: Okay, you'll like this.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Experts say soup can be easier to digest, help with hydration,
- 11:58Speaker 1: and support stable blood sugar when it has vegetables, lean proteins,
- 12:03Speaker 1: healthy fats, all that good stuff. And while it may
- 12:06Speaker 1: seem unusual here in the US savory breakfast like soup,
- 12:10Speaker 1: they're common in many cultures. So not only a am
- 12:14Speaker 1: I a trend center now, I'm a cultured American.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, you're international right.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Nutritionists are supporting the idea, though they do caution people
- 12:23Speaker 1: to watch for sodium levels. Even if the trend doesn't last,
- 12:26Speaker 1: the shift toward healthier, less processed breakfast is seen as
- 12:30Speaker 1: a positive change. We joke around all the time with
- 12:34Speaker 1: our boss about Gabe can have a gain weight, I
- 12:37Speaker 1: can eat snick ears and whenever I want and melly, well,
- 12:41Speaker 1: me don't always.
- 12:42Speaker 3: So you joke about it.
- 12:43Speaker 2: And I feel miserable the whole thing, the whole not
- 12:47Speaker 2: the whole time.
- 12:48Speaker 3: All I had to do was be eaten souper soup
- 12:51Speaker 3: for bread.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Okay, I've made a one eighty thank you tomorrow soup
- 12:55Speaker 2: for breakfast.
- 12:56Speaker 1: That was the entire point of sharing this bit with
- 12:58Speaker 1: you This morning on Big eight point seven, in.
- 13:03Speaker 5: The world of rules in gray Areas, one morning show
- 13:06Speaker 5: dares to ask the hard questions.
- 13:08Speaker 4: Is it illegal for a child to wear that much makeup?
- 13:11Speaker 4: Is it legal?
- 13:12Speaker 2: I understand, I understand it's funny as all can get out,
- 13:14Speaker 2: but is it even legal?
- 13:16Speaker 5: On Big ninety eight point seven.
- 13:19Speaker 1: You're driving down the highway, or maybe your car is
- 13:21Speaker 1: parked in the driveway, maybe it's in the parking lot
- 13:24Speaker 1: of a golf course, and that car is just mining
- 13:26Speaker 1: its own business, and all of a sudden, a golf
- 13:29Speaker 1: ball hits the window and now you have glass confetti
- 13:32Speaker 1: hanging around your area of vehicle. Well, who pays for that?
- 13:38Speaker 1: And the question really is kind of both and or nobody?
- 13:43Speaker 4: And all right, the.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Question who pays it really depends, But there's a general rule.
- 13:50Speaker 1: If the golfer was being careless, like swinging in a
- 13:54Speaker 1: neighborhood street or aiming way off of the golf course.
- 13:58Speaker 1: They could be on the hook for those damages. That
- 14:01Speaker 1: is called negligence. But if they're playing normally on a
- 14:06Speaker 1: golf course and your house or car is nearby, this
- 14:10Speaker 1: is where things get a little murky. Sometimes the golfer
- 14:13Speaker 1: isn't automatically responsible, especially if it was just a typical
- 14:18Speaker 1: bad shot.
- 14:19Speaker 4: They happen in golf all the time.
- 14:21Speaker 1: In many cases, homeowner's insurance if they hit your house
- 14:25Speaker 1: window or auto insurance ends up covering it. And even
- 14:29Speaker 1: if you didn't hit the ball, that could be on
- 14:31Speaker 1: you bottom line if someone was reckless, which is once
- 14:35Speaker 1: again kind of hard to prove. I mean you'd almost
- 14:37Speaker 1: have to catch it on camera. Yeah, it's just bad luck.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Your insurance might be stepping onto the green for you.
- 14:44Speaker 1: And maybe, just maybe you've had a dream of having
- 14:47Speaker 1: that house on a golf course your whole life. Oh,
- 14:51Speaker 1: if you're really worried about those windows, it might be
- 14:53Speaker 1: time to reconsider that dream. I always worry about that.
- 14:56Speaker 1: When you're on the hole at whatever golf course right
- 14:59Speaker 1: that's near the clubhouse. There are always holes around there.
- 15:02Speaker 1: There's not always necessarily greens around there, there can be
- 15:05Speaker 1: of course, I always worry about that, like, please don't
- 15:08Speaker 1: shank this, Please don't shank this, please don't shake or
- 15:10Speaker 1: hit it super thin and it's going, you know, a
- 15:13Speaker 1: nine hundred feet past what I was aiming at.
- 15:15Speaker 4: Yeah, I really try to be careful around that golf course. Angel.
- 15:18Speaker 3: I feel like this is a very just play with
- 15:20Speaker 3: good intention.
- 15:21Speaker 4: That's right.
- 15:23Speaker 1: I'll always be trying your best and not out there
- 15:25Speaker 1: acting like a hool again on the golf course.
- 15:33Speaker 2: So, my man Mikey is a teacher and he's been
- 15:36Speaker 2: a teacher for thirty plus years. So one of my
- 15:39Speaker 2: favorite things is that he will share little tidbits that
- 15:42Speaker 2: students have like said or asked throughout the years. And
- 15:47Speaker 2: yesterday he told me and the kids a weird question
- 15:51Speaker 2: this kid had asked him, So I wanted him to share. Teachers,
- 15:56Speaker 2: what is the craziest question a kid has asked you?
- 15:59Speaker 2: I always find me so interesting. This was what Mikey
- 16:03Speaker 2: told me yesterday.
- 16:04Speaker 8: Strangest question a student ever asked me was when a
- 16:07Speaker 8: boy came up and said, why do boys have more
- 16:10Speaker 8: teeth than girls? And of course I told him that
- 16:14Speaker 8: we all have the same number of teeth. But I
- 16:16Speaker 8: did dig a little deeper and found out that, like
- 16:19Speaker 8: thousands of years ago, was widely believed males had more
- 16:22Speaker 8: teeth than females. Now, I don't know when along this
- 16:27Speaker 8: kid's family tree that they didn't get the memo, but
- 16:32Speaker 8: for some reason, this kid still had the belief that
- 16:35Speaker 8: boys had more teeth than girls.
- 16:37Speaker 1: You know, if I was Mikey, I would have said,
- 16:39Speaker 1: I would have made up some story about back in
- 16:41Speaker 1: the cave man days when the guys had to go
- 16:43Speaker 1: out and get those wooly mammoth they needed the extra
- 16:47Speaker 1: teeth to break through the firm.
- 16:48Speaker 2: This is why you are not a teacher. I like,
- 16:51Speaker 2: they hate the deeper to fight.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right, I'll never forget this. In first grade,
- 16:58Speaker 1: we had this student, well I was in first grade
- 17:01Speaker 1: as well. Yeah, we were all sitting, you know, on
- 17:05Speaker 1: the carpet, the square carpet where it was reading time
- 17:07Speaker 1: or man time or whatever, and we were doing reading
- 17:11Speaker 1: time and the student raised his hand and just kind
- 17:14Speaker 1: of interrupted what we were trying to focus on at
- 17:17Speaker 1: the time, and he said, hey, miss Nessheim, who was
- 17:19Speaker 1: my first grade teacher?
- 17:21Speaker 4: Have you ever ate snake before?
- 17:23Speaker 3: What?
- 17:24Speaker 4: And it kind of threw everyone off.
- 17:26Speaker 1: And then miss ness Seim she looked and I could
- 17:29Speaker 1: just now that I'm older and understand, I could hear
- 17:31Speaker 1: in the back of her head just going, what kind
- 17:34Speaker 1: of question is this at this particular moment? And normally,
- 17:39Speaker 1: you know, teachers, they try their best to understand, Hey,
- 17:43Speaker 1: they just want to know.
- 17:43Speaker 4: Yeah, And she.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Did respond with, well, no, but is there a reason
- 17:48Speaker 1: you're asking me that right now?
- 17:50Speaker 4: Now?
- 17:50Speaker 1: As an adult, I know in the back of her
- 17:52Speaker 1: head she probably had a couple other words she would
- 17:54Speaker 1: have added in that, but it was the To this day,
- 17:57Speaker 1: I still laugh at that story, because why do you
- 18:01Speaker 1: want to know that about my first grade teacher at
- 18:04Speaker 1: this moment?
- 18:04Speaker 3: In right?
- 18:05Speaker 2: This is what I love because I know that our
- 18:07Speaker 2: kids ask us, and you will be in the same
- 18:10Speaker 2: boat when Baby G is old enough to talk, she
- 18:13Speaker 2: is going to be asking you.
- 18:15Speaker 3: All kinds of crazy things.
- 18:16Speaker 2: But I feel like it's always funnier to me when
- 18:19Speaker 2: a kid asks a teacher, because as a parent you
- 18:22Speaker 2: can kind of easier navigate and maybe be more honest
- 18:27Speaker 2: about your answer. But as a teacher, you have to
- 18:30Speaker 2: be hearing some weird things sometimes that makes you think,
- 18:33Speaker 2: what is going on in their home. And also I
- 18:36Speaker 2: have to be really careful about how I answer this.
- 18:39Speaker 3: Teachers, please let me know.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Obviously, keep your kids anonymous, but text us seven oh one, two,
- 18:44Speaker 2: eight oh one, nine eight seven or call us what
- 18:46Speaker 2: is the strangest craziest question a kid has ever asked you?
- 18:52Speaker 4: Today?
- 18:53Speaker 1: Is Cinko Demail, which commemorates the Mexican armies unlikely victory
- 18:58Speaker 1: over the French forces at the Battle of Puebla on
- 19:01Speaker 1: May fifth, eighteen sixty two.
- 19:04Speaker 4: Now, Angie, you are not Mexican. Your Cuban. Yeah, you
- 19:07Speaker 4: speak Spanish.
- 19:08Speaker 2: I do speak Spanish, and honestly, somewhere in my lineage
- 19:11Speaker 2: on my dad's side, there is some Mexican there, so.
- 19:14Speaker 3: That makes me the expert.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Really, what a lot of people do on Sinco the
- 19:18Speaker 2: Mayo is go to a restaurant and take advantage of
- 19:21Speaker 2: the sink of the mile drink special.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Yeah, Cinco de Mayo on a taco Tuesday. I mean
- 19:25Speaker 1: it's like two forces combined. Oh my gosh, to have
- 19:29Speaker 1: all the ringstones like in what's the Avengers movie?
- 19:32Speaker 3: Yes, I just realized that it's Tuesday. Wow, that's amazing.
- 19:36Speaker 3: So here are a couple of things. I'm just gonna
- 19:38Speaker 3: give you two things that.
- 19:39Speaker 2: You can say when you're out at your favorite restaurant
- 19:41Speaker 2: enjoying the sink of the mayo drink specials that undoubtedly exist.
- 19:45Speaker 4: Okay, that's right.
- 19:46Speaker 2: When your server asks if you want another one, but
- 19:51Speaker 2: they're low key looking at you like you've.
- 19:53Speaker 7: Had a lot, you just say, which just means go ahead,
- 20:00Speaker 7: kanta menganta, labda la babida, which just means I love alcohol.
- 20:05Speaker 4: Oh, all right, there you go.
- 20:07Speaker 3: Just throw your.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Hands at menanta and then they'll they'll give you another
- 20:11Speaker 2: one beda yes, perfect, Gabe, you're good at this. And
- 20:15Speaker 2: then the other one is when your server asks if
- 20:18Speaker 2: you want the sinkle the mio drink special, you say,
- 20:22Speaker 2: el Papa escatolico, which means is the Pope Catholic?
- 20:28Speaker 4: There we go, I like that one. What's that one
- 20:30Speaker 4: we're doing?
- 20:31Speaker 3: El Papa escolico.
- 20:33Speaker 4: I like the El Papa escatlico.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Yeah, there you go.
- 20:36Speaker 4: All right, Well, we.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Hope you have a wonderful sinco de mayo, and we
- 20:39Speaker 1: hope you order a margarita that's double the size of
- 20:42Speaker 1: the one you normally get when you're at your favorite exactly.
- 20:51Speaker 5: Starting off the day with something good. This is Gabe's
- 20:55Speaker 5: good news on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Clean Up Week and Argo, it's not necessarily just about
- 21:02Speaker 1: tossing stuff out. It could be about giving it a
- 21:05Speaker 1: second life. At Furniture Mission of the Red River Valley,
- 21:09Speaker 1: the phones have been ringing NonStop as people donate furniture
- 21:12Speaker 1: instead of leaving it on the curb. Director Jordan McCormick.
- 21:16Speaker 1: He says this is like their Super Bowl, with items
- 21:19Speaker 1: coming and going right back out to families who need
- 21:21Speaker 1: them the most. And we're talking beds, tables, couches, essentials
- 21:26Speaker 1: that can help someone potentially start over.
- 21:29Speaker 6: I know that the turnover of this time of year
- 21:32Speaker 6: is exhilarating, it's exhausting, but we all know it's for
- 21:36Speaker 6: the reason we're here, which is to help local families
- 21:39Speaker 6: get back on their feet through furniture.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Partner groups like the YWCA, Churches United, and American Red
- 21:46Speaker 1: Cross help connect those families to the mission. And here's
- 21:49Speaker 1: the simple rule. And this actually is good for basically
- 21:52Speaker 1: any time of the year, but it's important to remember now.
- 21:55Speaker 1: If you'd be okay giving it to your kid for
- 21:57Speaker 1: their first apartment, it's probably good enough to donate.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Oh I like that.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just kind of an easy rule of thumb
- 22:04Speaker 1: and clean up. We clean up week may clean out
- 22:07Speaker 1: some homes, but it is also filling them back up with.
- 22:10Speaker 4: Hope for others, which is very very sweet.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Remember my favorite quote, broken crayons, they still color, And
- 22:17Speaker 1: the world is full of nice people. If you can't
- 22:18Speaker 1: find one, you gotta be one.
