- 0:01Hey everybody, welcome to the good morning from the Chicken
- 0:04Coop podcast. My name is Kim Johnson and I am
- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happened to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to. Record A.
- 0:14Podcast to teach distinctions, possibilities, new ways of
- 0:18thinking, and just bring some joy into the world.
- 0:21So welcome to the coop and let's start your day off in a
- 0:24fantastic way. Hey everybody, good morning from
- 0:29the chicken coop. So I want to share a question
- 0:33with you that one of my clients asked me yesterday.
- 0:36And I thought this was very curious.
- 0:39And he said, what's the thing that irritates you the most when
- 0:44you're in conversation with people?
- 0:46And I had to stop. And I was like, you mean just in
- 0:49general or like, you know, and he doesn't like, let's say
- 0:51you're having a deep conversation with somebody and
- 0:54you're sharing something about like what you're working on or
- 0:57whatever. What's something that like
- 0:59really irritates you with that? And I said very simple, when
- 1:03someone tells me, well, you know, that's not very realistic,
- 1:06they make a statement like that or they say you should be more
- 1:09realistic with this. You this seems to be like an
- 1:12outside stretch or what makes you think that can happen?
- 1:15Anything in that frame of doubt or realism kind of sets me on
- 1:21fire. I won't just say it irritates
- 1:23me, it really sets me on fire. And I, I recognize that for a
- 1:28very long time in myself. It's why the people who are
- 1:32closest to me don't partake in that staying that stuff because
- 1:35they understand once you point that out to me that that's how
- 1:38you think, I don't want to hang around with you.
- 1:40I just don't want to hang around with you anymore.
- 1:43It's pretty, pretty clear that I'm not that person that chooses
- 1:47to think that way. And something that's really
- 1:50important to remember is that every single creative person,
- 1:53myself included, that I have ever met, ever had contact with
- 1:58and had the privilege to coach. We've all had people tell us
- 2:02that. And you know when you hear the.
- 2:05Words. Well, you've got to be
- 2:06realistic, or you've got to. You've got to think this through
- 2:09further, or you've got to be logical with it.
- 2:12All of a sudden that just not only is it a pin to the balloon,
- 2:18but to me it demonstrates where they are in their mindset and
- 2:23everything in this world that you are dealing with the phone
- 2:28that we're I'm recording this on, you know, every piece of
- 2:32technology, every single aspect of stuff fencing, it doesn't
- 2:36matter what it is. I'm out of the chicken coop.
- 2:38You know, nails locate think about it, just a nail putting
- 2:41the chicken coop together, the baskets that hang on the
- 2:44windows, the the process to get food in the bags and get it
- 2:48here. Every single one of those things
- 2:51came from the mind of a creative people who are willing to go and
- 2:57think outside the box and be unreasonable to think
- 3:00unrealistic thoughts and try to bring them into fruition.
- 3:04Me recording a podcast from a chicken coop is rather
- 3:07unreasonable to think. Like, why would anybody want to
- 3:10listen to barnyard noises except that everybody comments about
- 3:13how much they love it. And it was an unreasonable
- 3:17thought. It was unrealistic to think
- 3:19like, oh, yeah, you can run your business that's super successful
- 3:23from the farm. And it it, it's just a testament
- 3:28to saying if you're on here and you're listening to me, there is
- 3:32a very good chance that you are a creative person.
- 3:35You are a spiritual person. You are someone who's at a
- 3:37different level of awareness and it is very easy to get
- 3:42downtrodden by the people who are not in those same spaces,
- 3:46who are at a different level, who are in the more mindset of
- 3:50the world as opposed to the ethereal mindset where we spend
- 3:53a good deal of our time and it's very easy for them to take over.
- 3:57It's very easy for that to become something that you're
- 4:00just like, oh gosh, you feel it. You just feel like it's very
- 4:04uncomfortable having it. So I'm going to remind everybody
- 4:09that you won. You don't have to take that
- 4:11energy in 2 When someone says that to you, believe them.
- 4:15That's who they are. That's how they're seeing the
- 4:17world. But you don't have to see the
- 4:18world that way. Three, you have choices for how
- 4:21you want to show up in these situations.
- 4:23You have choices for how you envision it.
- 4:26Like everything out the chicken coop, they're all out here, you
- 4:29know, eating and scratching around and doing their thing and
- 4:32sitting on their little swings and having fun.
- 4:34And this is exactly what I envisioned, that they would be
- 4:36all connected to me and happy. And when I come out and hang out
- 4:40with them and do this, they all get so excited.
- 4:42And this is exactly what I envisioned.
- 4:44And people were like, oh, they're not like pets like that.
- 4:46And that's such a lie. They are just like pets like
- 4:49that. They give you know what you pour
- 4:51outcomes back to you. And I can tell you that it's OK
- 4:57to be unrealistic. It's OK to believe in yourself.
- 5:00It's OK to reach for more. Because when the world tells you
- 5:02you can't do something, that's one of those moments where
- 5:05you're like, hey, hold my beer and let me go do that just to
- 5:08prove the point, but also to know in yourself that you have
- 5:12all those gifts. You have all those gifts and in
- 5:14a big way. So I encourage you to do that.
- 5:18I not only encourage it, I applaud it.
- 5:20And I tell you, I've done it so many times and it feels so damn
- 5:24good. So don't let anybody be the pin
- 5:26to your balloon. All right, my friends, I hope
- 5:28you have a blessed day and I will see you tomorrow.
- 5:31Bye.
