- 0:00Speaker 1: Like I was saying, yeah, oh, that's it. Yeah, this
- 0:03Speaker 1: is the radio feature that we invented. It's very innovative,
- 0:07Speaker 1: or it was very innovative of us at the time.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Now everybody has copied it over the years. But it's
- 0:13Speaker 1: a feature where we allow people who listen to the
- 0:16Speaker 1: show to call us on the phone and talk to
- 0:20Speaker 1: us on the air, your voice on the radio momentarily
- 0:24Speaker 1: just by calling. You want to promote something, you want
- 0:26Speaker 1: to yell at us about something, you want to ask
- 0:29Speaker 1: us an honest and sincere question. Would you like to
- 0:31Speaker 1: try to convert us to your religion? Perhaps that was
- 0:34Speaker 1: something you have in mind, or maybe you want to
- 0:37Speaker 1: tell us about a great book you've just read.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Or if you're like Sean means, you want to correct us.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Is Seanna on the phone?
- 0:44Speaker 2: Now he's not on the phone, but he emailed this,
- 0:47Speaker 2: just me yelling at my radio. Well, there's a difference
- 0:50Speaker 2: between Smell of Vision and Odorama. Smell a Vision actually
- 0:55Speaker 2: pumped sense into the theater.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Uh hah.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Odorama was a scratch and sniff card with numbers. When
- 1:01Speaker 2: the number flashed on the screen, the theatergoer would scratch
- 1:04Speaker 2: the appropriate number. Smell of vision never caught on because
- 1:07Speaker 2: rigging the theaters was prohibitively expensive. Odorama was introduced in
- 1:12Speaker 2: John Waters Polyester and brought back for Rugrats Go Wild
- 1:17Speaker 2: and Robert Rodriguez's Spy Kids four.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Oh really, thank you very much. Mister means here you go.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Don't be afraid. You can do it? Hello, Yeah, what
- 1:28Speaker 1: you can do it?
- 1:29Speaker 2: If you want to correct us on something.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Yeah, And you know, we we shoot our mouths off
- 1:36Speaker 1: and say things all the time and with confidence, and
- 1:40Speaker 1: we shouldn't. We say so many things that we're well,
- 1:45Speaker 1: I don't know if that's true, because as we always say,
- 1:48Speaker 1: we're never wrong, we never lie, and we're always right.
- 1:51Speaker 1: That's right.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Although a listener did send me a notice about Breakfast
- 1:58Speaker 2: Cereal that I need to pick up.
- 2:00Speaker 1: A new breakfast cereal or a reintroduce.
- 2:02Speaker 2: It's a temporary it's it is almost a reintroduction.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Really a reissue kind of it's it's.
- 2:08Speaker 2: A summer special Captain Crunch called orange sickle.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Okay, I wouldn't do it.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Turn your milk orange sickle. I will try it, because
- 2:19Speaker 2: there was an old cereal that was orange flavored, and
- 2:22Speaker 2: I can't remember if it was if it was quake
- 2:27Speaker 2: or I want to say, there might be a kangaroo.
- 2:32Speaker 1: On the box that rings a bell.
- 2:35Speaker 2: But it was orange flavored and I liked it.
- 2:37Speaker 1: It did well. At first, I said said to myself, no,
- 2:42Speaker 1: but then I realized a pream sickle, an orange cream
- 2:45Speaker 1: sickle is orange flavor with with milk with grains.
- 2:49Speaker 2: So so apparently it's a summer special flavor for Captain Crunch.
- 2:54Speaker 2: If you want to talk cereal eight seven seven six two.
- 2:59Speaker 1: We're we're we talk cereal at least as much as
- 3:02Speaker 1: we talk politics easily on the show. So hello, yeah,
- 3:06Speaker 1: what let's.
- 3:07Speaker 2: See Dawson texting in what should I have for dinner?
- 3:11Speaker 2: Garlic beef with caramelized onion and zucchini bibimbop or peanut
- 3:17Speaker 2: chicken bowls with smashed cucumber and garlicy quene waw, don't
- 3:22Speaker 2: worry you know there's no cheese.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Yeah. I was gonna say, I would deal with I
- 3:25Speaker 1: would go with the quene wa the chicken peanut butter. Yeah, okay,
- 3:30Speaker 1: all right, Hello, yeah what all right? Uh, it's a
- 3:35Speaker 1: time for us to talk to you on the phone.

- 3:52Speaker 1: Okay, what's up?
- 3:54Speaker 3: Well, I was called to see you guys. Haven't brought
- 3:57Speaker 3: this up that I'm aware of, but wonder if there
- 4:00Speaker 3: was maybe some way you have extended big HVAC and
- 4:05Speaker 3: they're trying to split you out of the building or something.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Maybe it seems to.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Be an ongoing issue. Maybe some management these guys won't quit.
- 4:14Speaker 3: I have to we run them off.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Yeah, well, there may be something to that, or it's
- 4:21Speaker 1: just it's just neglect, really, that's what I think.
- 4:24Speaker 2: I think it's Wow, that'd be expensive to fix it
- 4:28Speaker 2: the way it should be fixed.
- 4:29Speaker 1: We'll just bandiate it along and hope that's good enough.
- 4:32Speaker 1: I think that's what's been happening over the years. Yeah.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Well, I just wanted to say thanks for letting the
- 4:40Speaker 3: list a long time listener. You guys are awesome. We
- 4:42Speaker 3: appreciate your dedication to our community. I mean to wat
- 4:46Speaker 3: to us.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Jeremy, thank you. I'm glad that you've been able to
- 4:49Speaker 1: put up with our constance complaining about everything.
- 4:54Speaker 3: It hasn't been easy.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Well you're tough. You're tough, I can say, thanks, Jeremy,
- 5:00Speaker 1: and we do know. And Bill brought this up the
- 5:03Speaker 1: other day.
- 5:03Speaker 2: How how good we have it as opposed to those
- 5:06Speaker 2: of you that have to work in the heat every day.
- 5:09Speaker 1: AC not an option based on what you're doing. So
- 5:12Speaker 1: it's going to be over one hundred today and they
- 5:15Speaker 1: are going to be people out there working on the
- 5:17Speaker 1: streets and.
- 5:17Speaker 2: On the Yeah, we're in kitchens or.
- 5:20Speaker 1: We only have one call. So if this is the
- 5:22Speaker 1: last call, then I'm going to go home. Johnny b Yeah, Johnny, Johnny.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Hi, Wow, I'm the last call.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Well, maybe somebody calls hey before Johnny, Before you get
- 5:35Speaker 1: to your topic, I wanted to ask you about that
- 5:38Speaker 1: Medusa ceramic where that's on the outside of your house, right.
- 5:43Speaker 4: Yeah, it's up in the gable on the east side
- 5:45Speaker 4: of my house in the.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Sunset any particular Yeah, that would be right east side sunrise. Yeah.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Any reason for Medusa in particular or you just like it.
- 5:57Speaker 4: I just like it. It sounded cool at the time,
- 5:59Speaker 4: and it is better than those laugh prey signs that
- 6:02Speaker 4: people get.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Yeah, it's true.
- 6:06Speaker 4: I got a bacchus bust to put on the west
- 6:11Speaker 4: side of my house when I get to that point,
- 6:14Speaker 4: the godom wine equivalent of dionysis.
- 6:18Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:20Speaker 4: Yeah, so happy for the sunsetting of the mind.
- 6:24Speaker 5: With the bakery.
- 6:25Speaker 1: So what did you want to talk about?
- 6:27Speaker 4: Well, hearing about your h o A boners earlier today,
- 6:32Speaker 4: I am just thankful that my lot in my house
- 6:36Speaker 4: is not in the NAH way.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Hey, you can do whatever you want to it.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm around in h o A all over that
- 6:43Speaker 4: I'm surrounded by h o A and they think sometimes
- 6:45Speaker 4: that I'm in their h o A. And I get
- 6:47Speaker 4: letters and I'm like, just rip them up. Not in
- 6:51Speaker 4: h o A.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Yeah, what kind of what kind of letters do they
- 6:54Speaker 1: send you?
- 6:55Speaker 5: Oh?
- 6:56Speaker 4: Just I have stuff in my backyard that's not allowed
- 6:59Speaker 4: in the h o A or else said taking too
- 7:01Speaker 4: long to build a house. There's only the city rules
- 7:06Speaker 4: that apply.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I do agree with him about them taking too
- 7:09Speaker 2: long to build your house.
- 7:11Speaker 1: He's doing it himself, I know, because every bit of
- 7:15Speaker 1: it himself. That's what's amazing. Yeah, And it's right now.
- 7:18Speaker 4: I'm just pacing around on the scaffolding, mixing the mortar
- 7:22Speaker 4: for the next round of brick right now.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Yeah, well get off the damn phone and go. Yeah.
- 7:29Speaker 4: Well safer than texting and driving, that's true.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Thanks Johnny.
- 7:33Speaker 4: All right, okay, hey, thanks, thank you.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Tim the tree guy.
- 7:38Speaker 5: Jim, good morning. I'm just trying to get started a
- 7:44Speaker 5: little earlier than I usually do, just because of as
- 7:48Speaker 5: you guys keep talking about it, it's hot.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Yeah, if you got work to do outside, morning is
- 7:55Speaker 2: the time to do it, for sure.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Yeah, you're gonna go out cimb a tree. You're going
- 8:01Speaker 1: out to climb a tree.
- 8:03Speaker 5: Yeah, I got a seventy five foot cottonwood to remove today.
- 8:11Speaker 5: It'll be all right.
- 8:12Speaker 1: I ever tell you the story that I tried to
- 8:13Speaker 1: do that. I think it was a cottonwood. I tried
- 8:15Speaker 1: to do that myself handy in that way. Well, my
- 8:21Speaker 1: brother is and my grandfather was a cheap person, and
- 8:25Speaker 1: it was a tree on his property and he wanted
- 8:27Speaker 1: it gone on it not where he lived a rental
- 8:31Speaker 1: property at So he said, I want you to you
- 8:33Speaker 1: two boys to take down that tree and so, and
- 8:36Speaker 1: it was mostly dead, so we thought we could do it,
- 8:41Speaker 1: and we, you know, got it is all I saw.
- 8:43Speaker 1: And then finally it was timber. Well, first of all.
- 8:46Speaker 1: It was going to fall the wrong way for sure.
- 8:48Speaker 1: So we got ropes and tied it up so that
- 8:51Speaker 1: it wouldn't because it was going to fall like on
- 8:53Speaker 1: the house, and cut it a little more in different ways,
- 8:57Speaker 1: and then we let the ropes go and it went timber,
- 9:00Speaker 1: and it fell into the neighbor's yard and smashed a
- 9:03Speaker 1: ping pong table flat. They had a ping pong table
- 9:06Speaker 1: in their backyard, just missed their house and then smashed
- 9:09Speaker 1: their ping pong table flat. Where to go?
- 9:12Speaker 5: Yeah, what I heard out of that was your grandfather
- 9:16Speaker 5: said remove this tree. And then wackiness ensued.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, Hello, Yeah, what see you later? All right?
- 9:25Speaker 1: Eight seven seven six zero two nine six nine six.
- 9:28Speaker 1: That was my grandpa. He was. He was a cheap
- 9:31Speaker 1: man in any any way. To save a dollar, he
- 9:34Speaker 1: would do it. That's why he was wealthy that he was.
- 9:37Speaker 1: He ended up dying a wealthy, wealthy man.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Yes, like like this building owner here, you know, wealthy man.
- 9:45Speaker 2: I'm not going to pay for HC. That's how that's
- 9:48Speaker 2: how I remain wealthy, is not spending money.
- 9:51Speaker 1: That That tree cutting experience was really scary. At one
- 9:55Speaker 1: point my brother said, listen, we got to tie this
- 9:58Speaker 1: rope around it because it's going to fall on the
- 9:59Speaker 1: house and I don't have a big enough saw blade
- 10:01Speaker 1: to finish this job. I'm gonna run up to home depot.
- 10:04Speaker 1: You stay here and watch the tree, watch thee What
- 10:07Speaker 1: were you going to do by yourself? There? I am
- 10:12Speaker 1: it all by myself. My brother's very he's two years
- 10:15Speaker 1: younger than me, but he's very handy, you know. He
- 10:17Speaker 1: can pretty much do anything. But and and we finally
- 10:21Speaker 1: did get the tree down fairly successfully. We had to
- 10:24Speaker 1: pay for a ping pong table, but that was not
- 10:27Speaker 1: being bad.
- 10:27Speaker 5: Hello, yeah, what all right?
- 10:29Speaker 2: Well that's it then,
