- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes five seventy nine through five eighty one.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I have skipped the filler episodes that are at the
- 0:20Speaker 1: beginning of this arc. In these episodes, Loofy shocking Nobody
- 0:27Speaker 1: decides that he really really wants to go to the
- 0:30Speaker 1: most dangerous looking island which is covered in a volcano
- 0:35Speaker 1: and lava, and then they find out that there's a
- 0:39Speaker 1: whole other area that's all ice and snow and it's
- 0:43Speaker 1: very much giving a song of ice and fire. I
- 0:46Speaker 1: am into it, curious about what's going on here, but
- 0:49Speaker 1: also why can't Lufy ever just want to go someplace
- 0:53Speaker 1: that looks peaceful and comfortable? Why for what reason? Welcome
- 1:00Speaker 1: to spoil Me, Welcome to the show everyone. I am Natasha.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Thank you very much to Florian for commissioning this episode.
- 1:26Speaker 1: I don't think that there's anybody here in the chat today,
- 1:29Speaker 1: which is a shame because I really wanted somebody else
- 1:32Speaker 1: to appreciate this wild camera work that I've got going
- 1:35Speaker 1: on here with my new computer. But you guys, these
- 1:40Speaker 1: episodes it was so weird because it was like I
- 1:42Speaker 1: was very, very engaged for some of it, and then
- 1:45Speaker 1: there were a lot of parts that I found myself
- 1:48Speaker 1: just getting frustrated, and I turned out to be very
- 1:51Speaker 1: wrong about some of that, so that's on me. But
- 1:55Speaker 1: it was a weird start to an arc for me. Now,
- 2:02Speaker 1: when I say weird start, what I really mean is
- 2:06Speaker 1: normally when our friends split up, there is a certain
- 2:12Speaker 1: breakdown that I'm used to of who gets to stay
- 2:16Speaker 1: and who goes on the adventure, you know, and Lufy
- 2:21Speaker 1: and Zoro are the ones that go, so in that respect,
- 2:24Speaker 1: it's pretty normal. But I was surprised that Sanji doesn't.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Nami also doesn't you know that oos up, Like, despite
- 2:35Speaker 1: clearly not wanting to go, he's still forced to go.
- 2:40Speaker 1: And so the breakdown of the two groups that we
- 2:43Speaker 1: end up with winds up being quite different than they
- 2:47Speaker 1: usually are. I am really curious about this island, and
- 2:55Speaker 1: there's a point where we go over to Tashii and
- 3:01Speaker 1: Smoker and they're talking about how there is like a
- 3:06Speaker 1: particular island, which we find out later is Punk Hazard.
- 3:12Speaker 1: I just have to say, y'all, I really really like
- 3:16Speaker 1: the name Punk Hazard. It's not any like better. I've
- 3:20Speaker 1: made the complaint before that the place names in this
- 3:23Speaker 1: sometimes don't feel like place names at all. They feel
- 3:26Speaker 1: like you just picked some weird words that are technically places,
- 3:31Speaker 1: like nis lobby, and I'm like, well, I guess technically
- 3:33Speaker 1: there's a lobby that's a place, So you could say that,
- 3:37Speaker 1: but I don't, uh you would. You could make this
- 3:41Speaker 1: argument much more effectively with Punk Hazard, but because neither
- 3:46Speaker 1: Punk nor Hazard has ever described a location. Really, but
- 3:51Speaker 1: I got to be honest, something about it works for me.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Some about it just sort of like rolls off the tongue,
- 3:59Speaker 1: so I'm kind of into it. And there is just
- 4:06Speaker 1: this vibe of like, we get a distress call, and
- 4:12Speaker 1: you guys, the distress call, it's truly hilarious. I can't
- 4:19Speaker 1: the transponder snail just starts sobbing, and I when I
- 4:29Speaker 1: think that it's Zorro maybe who says like, oh, that's
- 4:34Speaker 1: a distress signal. And when I realized that's what we
- 4:37Speaker 1: were doing that the distress signal was sobbing. That was
- 4:43Speaker 1: very very funny to me. So they get a message
- 4:47Speaker 1: from somebody who seems to die mid sentence as he
- 4:52Speaker 1: is asking for their help, and he says, we're all
- 4:55Speaker 1: so cold, we need boss I think is what he says,
- 5:01Speaker 1: our men are getting cut down one by one, and
- 5:08Speaker 1: then he is killed. Well, you know what this is
- 5:15Speaker 1: a I can't you, guys. I don't even want a
- 5:22Speaker 1: hazard to guess. There is a part of me that
- 5:26Speaker 1: really does think it's all these experiment guys, but I
- 5:32Speaker 1: can't be fully convinced of that. I feel like there
- 5:37Speaker 1: has to be something else going on. So because like
- 5:42Speaker 1: the island seems too large for there to only be
- 5:46Speaker 1: one enemy that they're dealing with or one variable. The
- 5:51Speaker 1: fact that they say our men are getting cut down
- 5:54Speaker 1: one by one, that's a specific way to say this,
- 5:56Speaker 1: and it doesn't sound like something that these men in
- 5:59Speaker 1: hazmat suit would be involved with. So it feels a
- 6:03Speaker 1: little bit more like we're talking about the samurai, which
- 6:06Speaker 1: that guy is. I when we finally sort of put
- 6:11Speaker 1: his face together, and really that's an asterisk because it's
- 6:15Speaker 1: not put together correctly, and that's quite clear. I cannot
- 6:19Speaker 1: decide whether it seems like he's here alone or not.
- 6:23Speaker 1: I feel like samurai tend to be loaners traditionally speaking,
- 6:28Speaker 1: but either this dude is quite effective all alone, and
- 6:32Speaker 1: he was taking out the guys that the man in
- 6:34Speaker 1: the distress signal was talking about all by himself or
- 6:39Speaker 1: there's more than one of him, and he is one
- 6:41Speaker 1: of the ones that actually like got caught up, and
- 6:44Speaker 1: the others are out there still wreaking havoc and why
- 6:49Speaker 1: are they here and why is any of this happening?
- 6:52Speaker 1: And was the person calling for help actually like a
- 6:56Speaker 1: fellow pirate? Was he somebody who worked on the Eye Island?
- 7:00Speaker 1: Like there there are a lot of questions, So I'm
- 7:05Speaker 1: gonna back up here and start at the beginning. I
- 7:10Speaker 1: just realized that I didn't read the titles of the
- 7:12Speaker 1: episodes in the opening. So five point seventy nine is
- 7:15Speaker 1: arriving a burning island, Punk Hazard. Episode five eighty is
- 7:18Speaker 1: a battle in the heat Loofy versus the Giant Dragon,
- 7:22Speaker 1: and then five eighty one is the straw Hats Stunned
- 7:25Speaker 1: enter a samuraized, horrifying, severed head. Which truly, these titles,
- 7:31Speaker 1: you guys, just they're just wild stuff. So the weird thing,
- 7:40Speaker 1: you guys, is that at the start of this episode,
- 7:44Speaker 1: we are like kind of right back where we were.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Just full disclosure, I accidentally started watching the Filler episodes
- 7:53Speaker 1: and as soon as it began, I was like, hold on,
- 7:56Speaker 1: let me double check my thing, because I feel like
- 7:58Speaker 1: this doesn't sound like what they would want me to
- 8:01Speaker 1: be watching right now. And sure enough, they were marked
- 8:05Speaker 1: as filler, but I saw that we were like entering
- 8:09Speaker 1: a whole different storyline. And so there's this thing that's
- 8:13Speaker 1: like in the previously on that is shown to us,
- 8:18Speaker 1: and that is Loofy basically turning into a giant. And
- 8:24Speaker 1: I wanted to get it out there that I saw
- 8:26Speaker 1: this in the previously on because I don't know if
- 8:29Speaker 1: this is something that is going to be trotted out
- 8:31Speaker 1: later that I'm going to be like that they're going
- 8:34Speaker 1: to treat as if I should have already known that
- 8:36Speaker 1: he could do this, But I just wanted to let
- 8:39Speaker 1: you guys know if it is meant to be kind
- 8:41Speaker 1: of a surprise later, I saw it already the way
- 8:45Speaker 1: the show goes, though, I don't think anybody's going to
- 8:48Speaker 1: write it in as a surprise because they're assuming that
- 8:50Speaker 1: you have watched the filler episodes. But I just did
- 8:53Speaker 1: want to acknowledge that this is a power that's like
- 8:56Speaker 1: pretty huge and impressive that I didn't know Lufy could
- 8:59Speaker 1: do that gets dropped in a filler, which seems like
- 9:02Speaker 1: a weird way to do it. I am used to
- 9:05Speaker 1: these major moments being, you know, in the main plot,
- 9:10Speaker 1: and I don't know, maybe this is something that he
- 9:13Speaker 1: only does for the filler episode and doesn't do again,
- 9:16Speaker 1: which would be a sort of weird way to play it.
- 9:20Speaker 1: So I don't really think that's likely, but I wanted
- 9:25Speaker 1: to mention it. But I say it's weird because, like,
- 9:31Speaker 1: without knowing that there were filler episodes there, without having
- 9:36Speaker 1: to manually skip them or seeing the previously on, this
- 9:41Speaker 1: episode basically begins exactly where the last one I covered
- 9:45Speaker 1: broke off, And so I am really curious how our
- 9:50Speaker 1: friends are supposed to have like gone through this whole
- 9:55Speaker 1: other adventure that took four episodes and then apparently wind
- 10:00Speaker 1: up in the same place that they had been with
- 10:04Speaker 1: the lightning and the rushing ocean out in the middle
- 10:07Speaker 1: of nowhere. So I may be mistaken, and it may
- 10:12Speaker 1: be that they don't wind up in the exact same
- 10:14Speaker 1: place because I don't remember seeing this volcano thing. But
- 10:19Speaker 1: you know, we don't get a lot of time to
- 10:21Speaker 1: get our bearings. There are whales all around us. It's
- 10:23Speaker 1: quite hectic. When they wind up surfacing. So I was
- 10:27Speaker 1: just sort of curious, like, if anybody has watched The Fillers,
- 10:33Speaker 1: if there's something that explains how perfectly seamlessly these episodes
- 10:39Speaker 1: could have been watched without the Fillers in between, and
- 10:43Speaker 1: our friends just wind up in the same place. I
- 10:45Speaker 1: don't feel like that's how it's functioned in the past. Hey,
- 10:48Speaker 1: maybe I'm wrong. I don't know, but anyway, so we
- 10:52Speaker 1: wind up here and we see this like fire ring.
- 10:56Speaker 1: That's a wall of flame circling the Eye island, and
- 11:00Speaker 1: it's so funny because it's very like obvious. Later on,
- 11:06Speaker 1: when Smoker and Tshigi are talking, they're describing this island
- 11:11Speaker 1: that has been sealed off, and they're expressing some surprise,
- 11:14Speaker 1: or at least to Shigi, is that Lufy is even there?
- 11:18Speaker 1: And I was listening to this conversation and actually thinking
- 11:24Speaker 1: to myself, how is it that, how do you even
- 11:29Speaker 1: seal off an island? You know, how do you do
- 11:32Speaker 1: that with something that size? And it didn't even occur
- 11:36Speaker 1: to me that we had just seen an island that
- 11:38Speaker 1: was nearly impossible to approach, Like, why how did I
- 11:45Speaker 1: not put that together? Y'all? I can really, I can
- 11:49Speaker 1: really be a dense bitch sometimes, and I'm certain you
- 11:53Speaker 1: all know that. Y'all are listening to this show for
- 11:56Speaker 1: long enough, there have got to have been moments where
- 12:00Speaker 1: you are like, I can't believe we're paying this stupid cunt.
- 12:03Speaker 1: What is she saying? This doesn't even know? I mean, like,
- 12:06Speaker 1: I am sure, and for that I apologize, But this
- 12:11Speaker 1: is a moment where even I was disgusted with myself.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Once we go back to the island, it was a
- 12:17Speaker 1: minute before I really put it together. Oh, sealed off,
- 12:21Speaker 1: Like that's how that would work, putting this permanent barrier.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Of course, I think it was more like when you
- 12:28Speaker 1: say sealed off, I think of it as like completely encased, which,
- 12:32Speaker 1: of course that is one way of sealing something off,
- 12:36Speaker 1: but that is not the only way. I was being
- 12:37Speaker 1: very limited in my thinking. So anyway, they they're in
- 12:44Speaker 1: the midst of this wild storm at the time, and
- 12:46Speaker 1: there's tons of rainfalling, and the weather in this changes
- 12:50Speaker 1: up a lot. It was kind of interesting to me
- 12:52Speaker 1: because like, really, when you stop and think about it,
- 12:57Speaker 1: our friends have rarely been on their ship in the rain.
- 13:02Speaker 1: It's happened a couple times, but it's always kind of
- 13:05Speaker 1: like the fact that it's raining, it's part of a storm,
- 13:09Speaker 1: it's a whole thing about the weather, and here it
- 13:12Speaker 1: really feels almost secondary to everything else that's going on. Like, yes,
- 13:16Speaker 1: we are on this we are approaching this new island.
- 13:22Speaker 1: We're in this adventure sort of frame of mind, as
- 13:25Speaker 1: we always are on this ship, but the rain isn't
- 13:29Speaker 1: a factor like in the plot at all. And I
- 13:33Speaker 1: know this is a weird thing to bring up, but
- 13:35Speaker 1: I just really liked the look of it. There was
- 13:37Speaker 1: something about it that really made everything feel a little
- 13:40Speaker 1: different than usual and a little special, because the way
- 13:44Speaker 1: that we're used to seeing them on their ship is
- 13:46Speaker 1: normally in like absolutely beautiful, temperate weather like we're in
- 13:51Speaker 1: the Caribbean or southern California, you know what I mean.
- 13:55Speaker 1: It's almost always bright and sunny and clear, unless there
- 13:59Speaker 1: is a very specific reason why not. And so just
- 14:04Speaker 1: seeing them actually experiencing some real weather here as you know,
- 14:10Speaker 1: a sidebar. I sort of liked it and didn't realize
- 14:13Speaker 1: how much I was missing that as an overall factor
- 14:17Speaker 1: until I saw it. So they're approaching this and like
- 14:23Speaker 1: Nammy is really set on the fact that they should
- 14:27Speaker 1: not be heading in this direction. Of course, there is
- 14:31Speaker 1: a fucking volcano. You don't want to be head Like,
- 14:34Speaker 1: if we were talking about real life, this would indeed
- 14:37Speaker 1: not be where we want to go. But Lufy, as
- 14:42Speaker 1: you know, the guy who always wants to pick the
- 14:45Speaker 1: most difficult means of doing anything, insists on it, and genuinely,
- 14:51Speaker 1: I believe cannot see any reason why you weren't. You
- 14:55Speaker 1: wouldn't want to do the most interesting thing. So they're
- 15:01Speaker 1: heading towards the fire, and understandably some folks are like, hey,
- 15:06Speaker 1: aren't we going to catch fire? And Frankie says, absolutely not.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Don't underestimate the sonny, And he turns out to be
- 15:14Speaker 1: quite right about this. All of the fish around the
- 15:20Speaker 1: island are already dead. Mammy points out that they are bones,
- 15:24Speaker 1: and Brooke is basically like, and what's wrong with that?
- 15:31Speaker 1: I did think that was actually very funny because the
- 15:36Speaker 1: fact that they are all bones, it's there is something
- 15:41Speaker 1: wrong with that. Brook. I think that you should understand,
- 15:44Speaker 1: actually that there is something wrong with that, because you
- 15:49Speaker 1: know that you being all bones, there's something kind of
- 15:53Speaker 1: wrong with that as well, Like this is normal. And
- 15:58Speaker 1: this is when they get interrupted by the transponder snail.
- 16:02Speaker 1: It turns out that Robin, she says more than half
- 16:10Speaker 1: of the distress calls are actually fakes and traps set
- 16:16Speaker 1: up by the Marines. That is bananas, like, more than half. Really,
- 16:28Speaker 1: I was so confused by this, so I I The
- 16:37Speaker 1: way that I keep kept thinking of this was like,
- 16:40Speaker 1: they're doing They're doing this because they're trying to catch pirates.
- 16:45Speaker 1: And if they're trying to catch pirates, why would they
- 16:48Speaker 1: like share the fact that they are in trouble as
- 16:51Speaker 1: a means of luring them, Because that implies that pirates
- 16:55Speaker 1: would try to come and help, which means that pirates
- 16:58Speaker 1: are not like tear people. And I didn't even consider
- 17:03Speaker 1: the fact that plenty of pirates functioned this way. They
- 17:08Speaker 1: would see ships that were foundering and they would take advantage.
- 17:10Speaker 1: They would come, not because they were trying to help
- 17:12Speaker 1: at all, but because they were like, Oh, you're in trouble,
- 17:16Speaker 1: why don't we just ease up this burden of all
- 17:19Speaker 1: this stuff you're carrying and either take you as slaves
- 17:22Speaker 1: or kill you or who knows what. So I felt
- 17:26Speaker 1: extremely naive for a moment as I realized like, oh, obviously,
- 17:34Speaker 1: so the way that this is like set up. We
- 17:42Speaker 1: have a weird kind of I'm going to back up
- 17:47Speaker 1: so I can read the actual dialogue here. Robin is
- 17:51Speaker 1: the one who says maybe he was just acting and
- 17:53Speaker 1: this as a trap because the guy sounded genuinely distressed,
- 17:56Speaker 1: but she's not fully willing to admit it. And oh right,
- 18:00Speaker 1: he said something about the samurai in the the uh
- 18:05Speaker 1: distress call, So I'm over here theorizing if that's who
- 18:08Speaker 1: it is, but he flat out said it. And if
- 18:11Speaker 1: you said the samurai, I feel like it must be
- 18:14Speaker 1: a singular, But samurai, I think is plural, right like,
- 18:18Speaker 1: it can be either like dear, so there's still may
- 18:22Speaker 1: be more than one, but I kind of feel like
- 18:24Speaker 1: there's not. And this is when Zoro is asking, like Brook,
- 18:31Speaker 1: that's a swordsman, right like, and he says, yeah, they're
- 18:34Speaker 1: from a far away land, an island known as the
- 18:37Speaker 1: Kingdom of Wono, And that's in the dub. When he
- 18:43Speaker 1: says this, the camera shows us a couple of characters
- 18:47Speaker 1: and translation of wah wa only, and so that made
- 18:53Speaker 1: me question whether or not this was different in the original,
- 18:56Speaker 1: like if the subtitles say something different and just maybe
- 18:58Speaker 1: say wah or if wana I know that there are
- 19:01Speaker 1: sort of like what do you call it, not prefixes
- 19:09Speaker 1: I want to say, postfix suffix in Japanese that are
- 19:15Speaker 1: meant to get like not necessarily a title across, but
- 19:22Speaker 1: sometimes like a term of endearment or just meant to imply,
- 19:26Speaker 1: like how well you know somebody. So I wondered if
- 19:29Speaker 1: Wana was like meant to be taking this word and
- 19:33Speaker 1: adding a suffix to it because I'm not familiar with them,
- 19:37Speaker 1: you know, I was gonna say, I'm not familiar with
- 19:38Speaker 1: most of them. I'm really not familiar with almost any
- 19:40Speaker 1: of them. The only one that I know really is Son,
- 19:44Speaker 1: which I think is an endearment. Right. So anyway, Wana
- 19:53Speaker 1: was closed off from the rest of the world, so
- 19:55Speaker 1: most people know little about it. It's not even affiliated
- 19:58Speaker 1: with the world government. They say that there's Samurai are
- 20:00Speaker 1: so formidable that even the Navy dares not challenge them.
- 20:05Speaker 1: And as he says this, Zorro is looking at his
- 20:08Speaker 1: sword hill and we get the flashback to him fighting
- 20:12Speaker 1: with that ghost, that Samurai ghost in Killer Bark, which
- 20:19Speaker 1: I had totally forgotten about. That this sword is a
- 20:23Speaker 1: gift from him. After Zorro defeated him, and he says
- 20:32Speaker 1: this body of legendary samurai, How shameful of me to
- 20:36Speaker 1: allow it to no defeat. He's talking about the sword,
- 20:40Speaker 1: I believe. So yeah, Zorro was just like really thinking
- 20:45Speaker 1: hard about this, and Frankie is like, all right, you're
- 20:51Speaker 1: talking about this place where all the samurai are from.
- 20:53Speaker 1: But this guy said that he was on punk Hazard,
- 20:56Speaker 1: so clearly that's not what we're dealing with. Do you
- 21:00Speaker 1: think that that is the island right there? And it
- 21:03Speaker 1: doesn't seem like there's anywhere else close enough that the
- 21:06Speaker 1: transponder snail could have reached them other than this island,
- 21:09Speaker 1: so that's got to be where he is. And Lufy,
- 21:13Speaker 1: of course had already wanted to go to our fire
- 21:17Speaker 1: island here, and so now that he has somebody to rescue,
- 21:22Speaker 1: it's just a foregone conclusion. Of course they're going to
- 21:24Speaker 1: be doing this despite the fact that nobody else wants
- 21:27Speaker 1: to go. It's like I say, nobody, almost nobody mostly no,
- 21:34Speaker 1: Like the only person that is excited is Loofy. The
- 21:38Speaker 1: people who are protesting seem to be Nami Chopper and Oosup,
- 21:43Speaker 1: and we don't really get an opinion either way from
- 21:46Speaker 1: anyone else. I wanted to mention to you guys, because
- 21:51Speaker 1: this has been something that's sort of like it's been
- 21:56Speaker 1: getting more and more overt, if that's the word I want.
- 22:04Speaker 1: But there is a real kind of crusty the clown
- 22:11Speaker 1: sound to Lufy's laugh lately that I like, there's always
- 22:21Speaker 1: been a touch of it, but it feels like it's
- 22:25Speaker 1: really getting extreme. And I was just taken aback in
- 22:32Speaker 1: these episodes how long it goes on, some of the
- 22:36Speaker 1: laughter and the like similarity to Krusty the Clown here
- 22:42Speaker 1: and there. I was just sort of like, this is
- 22:46Speaker 1: almost copyright infringement, even though you know it's a clearly
- 22:50Speaker 1: very different voice. But it's just been slowly growing and growing,
- 22:54Speaker 1: and this episode was the one where I was like,
- 22:57Speaker 1: good God, it's just really going on quite a lot
- 23:00Speaker 1: his last last a while. So this is when we
- 23:03Speaker 1: go over to t Shigi and Smoker and they decide
- 23:09Speaker 1: that they're going to change course and head over to
- 23:12Speaker 1: Punk Island, and she says that didn't they seal it
- 23:16Speaker 1: off after that incident a few years ago. I don't
- 23:20Speaker 1: even remember if she says exactly how much time. I
- 23:23Speaker 1: kind of want to check now and see if she says,
- 23:26Speaker 1: like a specific you know, ten years or something like that, Lesy,
- 23:32Speaker 1: after the incident four years ago, they sealed off the
- 23:36Speaker 1: entire island. So four years ago, well before our friends
- 23:40Speaker 1: separated and leveled up, and Smoker admits, I really don't
- 23:48Speaker 1: think that anybody would go there and be able to survive. However,
- 23:54Speaker 1: if it turns out that's where they did go and
- 23:57Speaker 1: we don't follow up on it, we're gonna be screwed.
- 24:01Speaker 1: So we have to at least check it out, which
- 24:04Speaker 1: is fair. You know, I'm all for covering bases. I
- 24:08Speaker 1: think that's just the smart way to go. So we
- 24:15Speaker 1: then see that there is this pirate captain that is
- 24:20Speaker 1: being strung up. They're burnings this dude alive. It is
- 24:29Speaker 1: It feels for me like this is not the way
- 24:34Speaker 1: the Marines usually work. I'm a little bit confused, you guys.
- 24:40Speaker 1: I didn't think that this is the sort of like
- 24:44Speaker 1: execution that Smoker would normally go for. I almost called
- 24:49Speaker 1: him choppers, you hear that. What I mean is I
- 24:54Speaker 1: absolutely understand that this man is for capital punishment. We
- 24:58Speaker 1: saw that he was about to execut Loofy, and you
- 25:02Speaker 1: know that's not surprising, but burning alive is a really
- 25:08Speaker 1: particularly cruel way to execute. And it's like the combination
- 25:13Speaker 1: of that they're doing that and that they're on a
- 25:17Speaker 1: ship when they're doing it, which feels extra extra dangerous
- 25:22Speaker 1: to me. I just don't really get why they're handling
- 25:29Speaker 1: this guy this way. It's like, maybe they're just torturing
- 25:33Speaker 1: him and it's not meant to be a killer, Like
- 25:40Speaker 1: maybe they're not doing an execution. Maybe they're just like
- 25:42Speaker 1: trying to get information out of him, But I don't know,
- 25:47Speaker 1: it really seemed like they were about to outright kill him.
- 25:51Speaker 1: So what's going on here, y'all? I'm really curious about
- 25:56Speaker 1: whether or not I just misjudged Smoker or if this
- 26:00Speaker 1: is an indication that he has changed as a character
- 26:03Speaker 1: since we last saw him. So this is the point
- 26:07Speaker 1: where our friends draw straws and decide who is going
- 26:12Speaker 1: to be going on the island versus who stays here,
- 26:17Speaker 1: and us up winds up getting to go. He makes
- 26:20Speaker 1: a big show about how he's going to be tough,
- 26:22Speaker 1: and you know, draw one of the straws, and when
- 26:27Speaker 1: he sees that it signals he has been chosen to go,
- 26:32Speaker 1: his tough guy act just completely falls apart, so they
- 26:36Speaker 1: take the mini Marynam sets them up to ride a
- 26:42Speaker 1: sort of trail that she makes out of cloud, which
- 26:46Speaker 1: is a pretty fun development. I do enjoy that she
- 26:50Speaker 1: has this ability. This is something that's like really practically useful,
- 26:55Speaker 1: And you know, I kind of had issues about the
- 26:59Speaker 1: fact that it seemed Nami was never really allowed to fight,
- 27:03Speaker 1: you know, I was just sort of I was a
- 27:06Speaker 1: little fatigued by the fact that no matter how many
- 27:10Speaker 1: abilities she developed, she's never really at the center of
- 27:16Speaker 1: the fighting ever. And I kind of just wanted to
- 27:18Speaker 1: see it like a couple times, you know, And so this,
- 27:22Speaker 1: even though it's not necessarily like for fighting, I was
- 27:27Speaker 1: very into how practical this could be for her to
- 27:29Speaker 1: assist others with fighting getting to a certain place. Just
- 27:34Speaker 1: the breaking out, like slowly of new abilities for each
- 27:41Speaker 1: of my characters here where we don't get a dossier
- 27:48Speaker 1: of everything that they are now capable of. It's sort
- 27:50Speaker 1: of trickling out as we continue with the story. I
- 27:55Speaker 1: really really enjoy all of these little surprises. I like
- 27:58Speaker 1: seeing it in the moment with the context of however
- 28:03Speaker 1: they're managing to use it, and it's just you know,
- 28:07Speaker 1: I have felt like the last episodes. In the last arc,
- 28:12Speaker 1: it was a setup for us to get to see
- 28:14Speaker 1: what they're capable of, and it definitely was, But that
- 28:18Speaker 1: isn't all that they're capable of. That's brand new, so
- 28:21Speaker 1: we've got more to look forward to on that front.
- 28:25Speaker 1: So let's see. It's Zorro, Robin, oos Up, and Loufy
- 28:34Speaker 1: who are heading to the island, and for whatever reason,
- 28:37Speaker 1: everybody has decided that on their little ride over, they're
- 28:40Speaker 1: going to go ahead and eat their lunches that were
- 28:43Speaker 1: packed by a Sanji, which I did think was very funny,
- 28:46Speaker 1: Like as soon Asanji puts Lufy in custody of the food,
- 28:54Speaker 1: I was sort of like, that seems like a huge mistake,
- 28:57Speaker 1: but okay, But seeing that everybody else goes along with
- 29:01Speaker 1: it as well, and it's just like, yeah, yeah, let's
- 29:03Speaker 1: just eat our lunch, except for Usup, who keeps being like,
- 29:06Speaker 1: what are you guys doing? I did find this funny
- 29:10Speaker 1: and also really appropriate because if you're like taking a
- 29:13Speaker 1: little ride somewhere, like if you're on a train having
- 29:16Speaker 1: a little snack, like I think that would be a
- 29:18Speaker 1: lot of our instinct is to just, you know, especially
- 29:21Speaker 1: in a universe where you don't have a cell phone
- 29:23Speaker 1: to disappear into or something. Yeah, you're just gonna sort
- 29:26Speaker 1: of be like, let me just have this little sneaky
- 29:29Speaker 1: snack to keep myself occupied. And then later on, despite
- 29:32Speaker 1: the fact that Usup claims I'm just saving it for later,
- 29:38Speaker 1: he starts eating out of emotion and so he is
- 29:44Speaker 1: like stuffing his face as things get more and more stressful.
- 29:48Speaker 1: And I found that actually genuinely funny because I thought
- 29:53Speaker 1: that there might be something that was more fat phobic
- 29:58Speaker 1: that they were gonna do again, because you know, the
- 30:00Speaker 1: whole thing with him getting fat in the on the
- 30:03Speaker 1: island that he was on. I was like, are we
- 30:06Speaker 1: going to be bringing that up again? Is this going
- 30:08Speaker 1: to be a whole thing? But no, and I was
- 30:11Speaker 1: kind of relieved, although it may still be something that
- 30:14Speaker 1: gets trotted out later as well, who knows. So so yeah, anyway,
- 30:20Speaker 1: this little snack bit. I just thought that this was funny.
- 30:23Speaker 1: So they see the front gates Punk Hazard keep out
- 30:29Speaker 1: by order of the Marines, the world government, YadA YadA,
- 30:33Speaker 1: And when they just decide they're going to go in anyway,
- 30:37Speaker 1: oos Up is like, you don't want to get on
- 30:39Speaker 1: the bad side of the world government, do you And
- 30:42Speaker 1: then he's like, oh, we've already done that. And then
- 30:45Speaker 1: he says something like, oh, I can't remember. There was
- 30:50Speaker 1: another thing as well, and he's like, oh, we did
- 30:52Speaker 1: that too, And I did actually think that this was
- 30:55Speaker 1: a good bit. Eventually he just tries to be like, yeah,
- 30:58Speaker 1: but from like an ethical per perspective, we probably shouldn't
- 31:01Speaker 1: be going in. And the fact that he just sort
- 31:03Speaker 1: of brings it down to an ethical perspective, it's just
- 31:09Speaker 1: so weak. Bless him. So they go on inside and
- 31:14Speaker 1: this is when they come up against this uh dragon,
- 31:20Speaker 1: and y'all, I will tell you what this is. When
- 31:25Speaker 1: I said i'm the intro or beginning of this episode
- 31:29Speaker 1: that there were some things I was wrong about. I
- 31:32Speaker 1: was so irritated that our friends didn't try to talk
- 31:38Speaker 1: to this dragon. I was so mad because, like, this
- 31:41Speaker 1: dragon is actually animated to be pretty cute. It does
- 31:47Speaker 1: not look like a vicious creature the way that the
- 31:50Speaker 1: sea kings look. It's not as dopey and friendly as
- 31:55Speaker 1: some of the other like the little Shark and the
- 31:57Speaker 1: T shirt or anything like that. But he had a
- 32:01Speaker 1: look to him that was kind of in a way
- 32:04Speaker 1: non threatening and I say in a way because even
- 32:09Speaker 1: though it was he did sort of look intimidating, it
- 32:15Speaker 1: wasn't the kind of intimidating that I'm used to in
- 32:19Speaker 1: this show when it comes to characters that are worthy
- 32:25Speaker 1: of just outright execution, which is what happens to this dragon.
- 32:29Speaker 1: And so the fact that he starts to talk, but
- 32:32Speaker 1: nobody really seems to make an effort to speak with him,
- 32:36Speaker 1: and even though more than one person hears him, eventually
- 32:40Speaker 1: they're all just like, oh, yeah, that's weird, and then
- 32:42Speaker 1: they keep trying to kill him. I was kind of disgusted.
- 32:48Speaker 1: I was kind of fucked up over it. I was like,
- 32:50Speaker 1: y'all are jumping to all these conclusions about this dragon.
- 32:57Speaker 1: You don't know if any of this is correct. Like
- 33:00Speaker 1: how I was very in my feelings, and I felt
- 33:06Speaker 1: as like so certain that at any moment the dragon
- 33:11Speaker 1: would speak again and be like, why are you doing this?
- 33:15Speaker 1: And then as the scene progresses and he just speaks
- 33:19Speaker 1: weirdly intermittently, and the things he says don't really feel
- 33:23Speaker 1: like they make sense, I started to be like, maybe not,
- 33:28Speaker 1: maybe that's not what we're doing. And then finally Loofy
- 33:31Speaker 1: sees the legs sticking out of him. And at that point,
- 33:36Speaker 1: I was like, is it possible that this is just
- 33:40Speaker 1: like a misunderstanding and that this dragon is coming at
- 33:44Speaker 1: them the way that he is because he has some
- 33:49Speaker 1: weird thing going on with a human like stuck in
- 33:51Speaker 1: his back and he's cranky. And once they yanked this
- 33:54Speaker 1: guy out, the dragon will be like, oh, thank god,
- 33:58Speaker 1: that was agonizing, you know, things for helping something like that.
- 34:02Speaker 1: And no, no, the dragon is, as they believe, purely
- 34:08Speaker 1: an enemy. I was so disappointed. I'm not even gonna
- 34:13Speaker 1: play with, y'all. I really wanted this dragon to be
- 34:16Speaker 1: a bud. I wanted this dragon to be somebody who
- 34:19Speaker 1: like wound up, if not necessarily becoming part of the crew,
- 34:26Speaker 1: was just sort of an ally that they, you know,
- 34:28Speaker 1: made here somehow. I really had a whole mental picture,
- 34:35Speaker 1: and I was devastated when it's literally killing and eating him,
- 34:42Speaker 1: that's what we did. He was adorable and he's a dragon,
- 34:49Speaker 1: and they were also blown away to see one after
- 34:52Speaker 1: they thought they were only myth and then to just
- 34:55Speaker 1: instantly just kill it. I was I was so disap pointed, y'all.
- 35:00Speaker 1: I was truly devastated about it. So anyway, I just
- 35:05Speaker 1: wanted to share that because I held on to the
- 35:07Speaker 1: hope that we were gonna have a dragon friend for
- 35:09Speaker 1: like longer than was really reasonable. And eventually Loofy pulls
- 35:16Speaker 1: the legs out of the back of the dragon and
- 35:18Speaker 1: it's just legs. So at that point I had the
- 35:24Speaker 1: probably like I'm not alone in this, the thought, is
- 35:28Speaker 1: it possible that this is uh, Buggy the clown, because
- 35:35Speaker 1: he has like sort of stripey pants with like a
- 35:37Speaker 1: sash around his waist, that it's not unthinkable Buggy would
- 35:42Speaker 1: wear this outfit from you know, the waist down. It
- 35:46Speaker 1: turns out this is not what's happening. It's a whole
- 35:48Speaker 1: other thing. But genuinely I was thinking, well it has
- 35:54Speaker 1: to be how could this you know, how could this be? Otherwise, Well,
- 35:58Speaker 1: how this can be is due to this weird experimentation
- 36:02Speaker 1: that they are evidently doing on this island. So I'm
- 36:06Speaker 1: getting a little bit ahead of myself here, so I'm
- 36:08Speaker 1: gonna keep backing up. But once Loofy gets the legs
- 36:13Speaker 1: out of the dragon, he is so excited at the
- 36:16Speaker 1: prospect of this weird thing with the legs who and
- 36:19Speaker 1: he also mentions, like do you guys work with the
- 36:21Speaker 1: Seven Warlords, and from the way he says it to me,
- 36:24Speaker 1: it sounds like he is an enemy of the war Lords.
- 36:26Speaker 1: He doesn't. He's trying to make sure that they are
- 36:28Speaker 1: enemies first before striking, and so he's asking in order
- 36:32Speaker 1: to confirm what he already suspects. But he, like Loofy,
- 36:39Speaker 1: wants to make him a crew member and starts chasing him.
- 36:44Speaker 1: And because he doesn't have a head, he can't see
- 36:46Speaker 1: Loofy and he can't really communicate that well, he's still
- 36:49Speaker 1: able to sort of talk, but it's just everything is
- 36:53Speaker 1: very unclear and like riddled with misunderstanding, and Loofy eventually
- 37:02Speaker 1: like gets stuck to him in such a set set
- 37:06Speaker 1: up that he looks like a centaur, like he's got
- 37:08Speaker 1: four legs. It was such a goofy thing to do,
- 37:12Speaker 1: and it was genuinely quite funny. I actually really liked this.
- 37:19Speaker 1: So the legs, let's see, Oh, he doesn't have pants,
- 37:28Speaker 1: it's like a skirt. My bad. But when you first
- 37:30Speaker 1: see him, when he first gets detached, it's not totally
- 37:33Speaker 1: clear that's what's going on. But yeah, so Loofy when
- 37:43Speaker 1: he gets back together with his friends and he's just like,
- 37:46Speaker 1: I don't know how this happened, but I think it's
- 37:48Speaker 1: kind of awesome. So we're just gonna stay like this
- 37:50Speaker 1: for now, I guess. So he and his friends keep
- 37:55Speaker 1: going forward, and they finally come to this like cliffs
- 38:00Speaker 1: where they are able to look out over the side
- 38:04Speaker 1: of the island facing towards it. I think it's like
- 38:07Speaker 1: a sort of curved in bay, and so they're looking
- 38:09Speaker 1: from maybe one side of it, or maybe it's a lake,
- 38:14Speaker 1: and maybe they say it's a lake, but either way,
- 38:16Speaker 1: on the other side, it's straight up frozen. It goes
- 38:19Speaker 1: from so hot that we see actual rock melting in
- 38:24Speaker 1: some places to so freezing that we've got straight up
- 38:30Speaker 1: icebergs just like floating around. And I thought Oosup made
- 38:35Speaker 1: a pretty good point here, because when they're talking about
- 38:38Speaker 1: crossing and seeing what's going on in the snowy section,
- 38:43Speaker 1: oos Up is like, look, no, here, I can avoid
- 38:50Speaker 1: the fire and I'm still fine, but there the fucking
- 38:57Speaker 1: snow is like just a symptom of cold and there
- 39:01Speaker 1: won't be any escaping that kind of cold. So no,
- 39:05Speaker 1: I don't want to go over there. And as somebody
- 39:08Speaker 1: who personally this is something that's always bothered me. People
- 39:12Speaker 1: will talk about how, logically speaking, being too cold is
- 39:20Speaker 1: not as bad as being too hot, because if you're
- 39:25Speaker 1: too cold, you always have the option of putting on
- 39:28Speaker 1: more clothing in order to retain your heat. If you
- 39:33Speaker 1: are too hot, there comes a point when you're just
- 39:35Speaker 1: naked and there's nothing more to be done. And I
- 39:39Speaker 1: totally understand how logically that may make sense, but for me,
- 39:44Speaker 1: cold can actually feel painful. Heat is unpleasant. It makes
- 39:49Speaker 1: you sweat, it makes you feel slimy, it makes you
- 39:52Speaker 1: feel like sluggish and tired. All of that is true.
- 39:56Speaker 1: But cold like hurts your body in a way that like,
- 40:04Speaker 1: it doesn't even have to be that cold out for
- 40:07Speaker 1: it to begin to happen. The circumstances just have to
- 40:11Speaker 1: be right, and heat has to be so much more
- 40:15Speaker 1: extreme before you know. Like, the one thing that I
- 40:19Speaker 1: could say is that sunburn is a thing, and that's
- 40:23Speaker 1: not even really heat related. You can get sunburnt in
- 40:27Speaker 1: the winter just as easily as in the summer, as
- 40:30Speaker 1: long as you are in direct sunlight and you are
- 40:32Speaker 1: not protected. You could have this happen at any time.
- 40:35Speaker 1: So anyway, I am very much kind of team oose
- 40:41Speaker 1: up on this because I understand the idea of how
- 40:44Speaker 1: you could technically protect yourself from cold more continually as
- 40:49Speaker 1: the situation escalates than you can from heat. But just
- 40:53Speaker 1: the experience of being cold for me is so much
- 40:55Speaker 1: more unpleasant and painful, and like robs my concentration, it's
- 41:02Speaker 1: just I fucking hate being cold so much. So anyway,
- 41:06Speaker 1: I just wanted to mention this because I thought that
- 41:11Speaker 1: it was his reaction was completely reasonable, So I'm gonna
- 41:17Speaker 1: also mention I think that I, in my memory thought
- 41:21Speaker 1: that they reached this a little later, but I actually,
- 41:24Speaker 1: thinking back, I believe they got to this right away
- 41:27Speaker 1: when they entered Punk Hazard. That they come to this
- 41:31Speaker 1: spot where they can see over the sort of area
- 41:35Speaker 1: that has been destroyed, and I thought it was, you know,
- 41:40Speaker 1: this is the sort of thing where it's like, you're
- 41:43Speaker 1: saying that this is obvious. It's not obvious, but I
- 41:47Speaker 1: think you're telling us it's obvious, just so that we
- 41:50Speaker 1: know because you are aware that it's not obvious. But
- 41:54Speaker 1: they come to this viewpoint and they are looking out
- 41:57Speaker 1: over all of these buildings that are and melted, and
- 42:01Speaker 1: Robins says, well, they're not houses, must be like or
- 42:07Speaker 1: she says, obviously it's some kind of governments, like science facility,
- 42:14Speaker 1: and I was like, it's really not obvious at all,
- 42:16Speaker 1: what do you mean? But eventually we start to see
- 42:21Speaker 1: some of what might still be going on here. So
- 42:25Speaker 1: first on the ship, our friends are hanging out. Uh
- 42:29Speaker 1: Sanji has made everybody some like ice creams to cool
- 42:33Speaker 1: them down, and he goes back into the kitchen and
- 42:37Speaker 1: the rest of our friends are out on the deck
- 42:39Speaker 1: enjoying themselves, trying to deal with this heat. I kept
- 42:42Speaker 1: thinking that it might be better to go inside the ship,
- 42:44Speaker 1: but I'm operating under this assumption that it has AC. Honestly,
- 42:48Speaker 1: with everything that Frankie can do, it should have AC.
- 42:52Speaker 1: But it's fine. And all of a sudden, you see
- 42:57Speaker 1: these like hands clamp on this of the deck and
- 43:01Speaker 1: somebody hauls themselves up over the railing on the side.
- 43:07Speaker 1: And I thought that this was going to be wet
- 43:11Speaker 1: hair Caribou, because I said in the last episode that
- 43:13Speaker 1: we don't actually really see what happens to him, So
- 43:16Speaker 1: it's possible that he could have stowed away somewhere on
- 43:19Speaker 1: the sunny and is biding his time before he appears.
- 43:22Speaker 1: The longer this goes on without seeing him, the less
- 43:25Speaker 1: likely I think that is, but I'm not willing to
- 43:27Speaker 1: completely let it go because it was just left so
- 43:30Speaker 1: open ended it felt to me. But it turns out
- 43:37Speaker 1: that it's these other weird guys in these there has
- 43:40Speaker 1: matt suits, but instead of having the sort of square
- 43:43Speaker 1: large screen on the front of the face that you
- 43:46Speaker 1: can see somebody's whole face through, they have these little
- 43:51Speaker 1: portholes in like the center around their eyes that makes
- 43:56Speaker 1: them look a lot more alien like. I think that
- 44:01Speaker 1: these are all ordinary people, but the suits just are
- 44:07Speaker 1: bonkers looking. And they come on deck and they release
- 44:14Speaker 1: some kind of weird gas that sends all of the
- 44:19Speaker 1: pirates to sleep, and Sanji is unaffected because he is
- 44:22Speaker 1: inside at the stove like making some more food. He
- 44:28Speaker 1: comes out and he finds everybody passed out, and he
- 44:31Speaker 1: has absorbed, like inhaled some of the smoke. So he
- 44:36Speaker 1: gets a little bit frustrated with himself because he didn't
- 44:39Speaker 1: notice it right away, and I was thinking that maybe
- 44:44Speaker 1: he would be able to save them all, but he
- 44:46Speaker 1: winds up getting captured along with the rest of them anyway,
- 44:49Speaker 1: So they wake up and they are inside this very
- 44:56Speaker 1: stark white like laboratory room, and there is a dude
- 45:04Speaker 1: who is basically all flame. It's hard to say what
- 45:11Speaker 1: he is. According to this subtitle, his name is Caesar Clown.
- 45:19Speaker 1: That is not a good name at all. That's terrible, actually,
- 45:23Speaker 1: But I guess I was actually like wondering, because of
- 45:28Speaker 1: this place being called Punk Hazard, that perhaps this dude
- 45:34Speaker 1: was Vega Punk, and that like we were seeing what
- 45:37Speaker 1: he had wound up doing to himself, that he had
- 45:40Speaker 1: made so much forward momentum with the dramatic like robotics
- 45:46Speaker 1: and stuff that he was doing, that now he straight
- 45:49Speaker 1: up just doesn't even need a body anymore, which I
- 45:52Speaker 1: think is kind of a fun idea, but it is
- 45:56Speaker 1: that is not what's happening here. I don't think if
- 46:00Speaker 1: he's being called Caesar Clown either Vega Punk has decided
- 46:03Speaker 1: to go with a different nomenclature based on his new
- 46:06Speaker 1: identity and weird bodyless existence, or this is just an
- 46:11Speaker 1: entirely different character, and I think that's probably more likely.
- 46:15Speaker 1: So the Caesar Clown. I really don't like it, guys.
- 46:23Speaker 1: I just don't like that at all. He is looking
- 46:27Speaker 1: over all of the straw hats that have been captured,
- 46:30Speaker 1: and he's getting pretty excited because to him, this is like,
- 46:34Speaker 1: you guys got some real weirdos here. You know. We've
- 46:39Speaker 1: got this little like pet that apparently can talk, this
- 46:42Speaker 1: dude that we thought was dead because he's just a skeleton,
- 46:45Speaker 1: he's actually up and walking around. We have a cyborg
- 46:50Speaker 1: as well in the mix. Like this is a very
- 46:55Speaker 1: rare grouping of people. That makes it much more interesting
- 46:59Speaker 1: than the usual folks they come across. Evidently, so I
- 47:05Speaker 1: don't know what it is they're planning on doing. He
- 47:09Speaker 1: says something vague like, you know, we'll have fun with
- 47:12Speaker 1: them later, something very sinister sounding like that. And I
- 47:18Speaker 1: just wanted to say this is just from speaking for myself.
- 47:26Speaker 1: I I think that in the past I have already
- 47:32Speaker 1: mentioned to y'all how truly distressing I find storylines about
- 47:41Speaker 1: experimentation on people any sort of like medical, surgical, especially
- 47:51Speaker 1: people who are not volunteering. But even when they are volunteering,
- 47:55Speaker 1: it's still really difficult for me. It gives me the
- 47:59Speaker 1: he beach in such a deep, profound, soul level way
- 48:03Speaker 1: that my mother would probably say that was something that
- 48:07Speaker 1: I suffered from in a past life somehow, you know,
- 48:10Speaker 1: And it's very difficult sometimes for me to come to
- 48:12Speaker 1: terms with the fact that practically all medical knowledge and
- 48:19Speaker 1: forward motion is due to experimentation, and like a lot
- 48:24Speaker 1: of it was involuntary and done on people who didn't
- 48:30Speaker 1: have the social power to resist. But this sort of thing, like,
- 48:37Speaker 1: I am just so schemed out by and I'm really
- 48:42Speaker 1: hoping that we don't go to places in this plot
- 48:47Speaker 1: line that are going to bother me too much. Fingers crossed.
- 48:51Speaker 1: But they're in this room being observed through the glass,
- 48:58Speaker 1: and eventually when they wake up, obviously Sanji is out
- 49:02Speaker 1: here kicking the fuck out of the walls trying to
- 49:04Speaker 1: see if he can break some things down. The first
- 49:07Speaker 1: one to wake up is Brooke, because I think he
- 49:09Speaker 1: doesn't have blood or tissue, so he overcomes the sleeping
- 49:14Speaker 1: gas much more quickly. But I was surprised that it
- 49:17Speaker 1: worked on him at all. And then they who is
- 49:26Speaker 1: it that they're talking to? Oh? Yeah, they're talking to
- 49:28Speaker 1: each other about who could have put them in here.
- 49:30Speaker 1: Chopper is convinced that it's like vampires, and let's see
- 49:37Speaker 1: him trying to find Oh, here it is here, it is. Yeah,
- 49:40Speaker 1: it's the samurai who says it's because he doesn't have
- 49:43Speaker 1: any blood, and they say show yourself, and they turn around,
- 49:48Speaker 1: and I can't his name. I think is saying Kinemon
- 49:52Speaker 1: on the subtitle. I don't know if I'm saying that correctly, though.
- 49:56Speaker 1: I don't know if they actually have used his name
- 49:58Speaker 1: in the dialogue yet. They may have, I think at
- 50:03Speaker 1: the very end they have, but I just don't remember
- 50:05Speaker 1: how it's pronounced. And there are all of these pieces
- 50:12Speaker 1: of a face on the ground, his mouth, each eye, nose, chin,
- 50:21Speaker 1: top of head, all of it is separated from one another,
- 50:25Speaker 1: and they are cut in like these perfect little cubes.
- 50:29Speaker 1: And like, obviously this guy doesn't have a body in here,
- 50:33Speaker 1: it's just his head. So he can't move and he
- 50:36Speaker 1: can't put himself back together, so he asks the straw
- 50:40Speaker 1: hats to use it to do it, to put it
- 50:42Speaker 1: back together, and we get a little sequence of them
- 50:46Speaker 1: reassembling his head, vary incorrectly, and eventually they get to
- 50:51Speaker 1: a place where things are close enough that he's just like,
- 50:54Speaker 1: you know what, fine, His chin is upside down on
- 50:57Speaker 1: the top of his head, but he's like this is
- 51:00Speaker 1: good enough. Whatever. And until they they full he put
- 51:05Speaker 1: him back together, they don't seem to register that he's
- 51:08Speaker 1: a severed head, but then Sonji points it out and
- 51:10Speaker 1: they all get scared again, and he says, the swordsman
- 51:16Speaker 1: cut me into many pieces. That villain used some manner
- 51:21Speaker 1: of sorcery. He severed my limbs. But I did not bleed,
- 51:25Speaker 1: I did not die. I was denied a warrior's death. Instead,
- 51:30Speaker 1: I suffered this indignity. I'm a disgrace. And I really
- 51:36Speaker 1: felt bad for him, because, like sometimes in stories, when
- 51:41Speaker 1: somebody is like, well, this is an indignity, I am
- 51:43Speaker 1: just like, oh, get over yourself. I have no patience
- 51:46Speaker 1: for it. But this man has been cut into so
- 51:50Speaker 1: many pieces that his legs are just straight up sticking
- 51:52Speaker 1: out of the dragon's back with his feet waving in
- 51:56Speaker 1: the air. And if he hadn't had any underwear on,
- 51:59Speaker 1: God knows the whole vibe of this, with his like
- 52:04Speaker 1: face being cut into parts. Yeah, he's right, this is
- 52:08Speaker 1: an indignity. This is like I would be very, very
- 52:11Speaker 1: upset by it as well. So we go back to
- 52:19Speaker 1: Chopper or oos Up Robin Zorro and Loofy, and Loofy
- 52:26Speaker 1: has just really gotten obsessed with the idea of going
- 52:29Speaker 1: to the snowy side and making snow cones. I love
- 52:32Speaker 1: that he says ice cream you scream snow cones, like
- 52:36Speaker 1: he was on track for a certain kind of you know,
- 52:42Speaker 1: colloquial Is it colloquialism that I want? But he just
- 52:48Speaker 1: just completely veers off to the side. And I always
- 52:50Speaker 1: kind of like that joke when it's just very unexpected.
- 52:53Speaker 1: It's like there's a point in Golden Girls where Rose
- 52:57Speaker 1: says the term that is usually said is the more
- 53:09Speaker 1: God now I've forgotten it, the lies we weave, the
- 53:11Speaker 1: more we practice to deceive something like that. Anyway, she
- 53:15Speaker 1: gets it completely wrong, and every time I get to
- 53:17Speaker 1: that part, I laugh as if it's the first time,
- 53:19Speaker 1: because it's so it's so unexpected. You think you know
- 53:23Speaker 1: what she's going to say. So when Lufy did that
- 53:25Speaker 1: here I scream, you scream snow cones, it's just like, ah,
- 53:30Speaker 1: never change, buddy. So he is walking towards that side
- 53:35Speaker 1: when all of a sudden, somebody comes out of nowhere
- 53:38Speaker 1: and tries to bash him with like a spiked mace,
- 53:43Speaker 1: and he's like, what the fuck? Who is this? And
- 53:45Speaker 1: the person who it's I think yo to Ros, I
- 53:50Speaker 1: don't know if I'm saying that right either. He is like, oh,
- 53:54Speaker 1: I'm your worst nightmare intruder, and he's laughing and ready
- 53:59Speaker 1: to fight. And then the smoke clears and he sees
- 54:04Speaker 1: that Lufy also has four legs and is very excited,
- 54:10Speaker 1: apparently to meet somebody else who is like him. Now.
- 54:14Speaker 1: I don't know if this guy is the result of
- 54:16Speaker 1: an experimentation, or if he is a straight up centaur
- 54:20Speaker 1: like you know from mythology or what, but evidently it's
- 54:24Speaker 1: good that Loofy got stuck to this guy's legs because
- 54:27Speaker 1: it is the thing that saved his life. And I
- 54:31Speaker 1: love that. This dude says, well, it's nice that your
- 54:34Speaker 1: legs have pants. What kind are they? And Lufy's just like, hey,
- 54:39Speaker 1: I really don't know. His legs start talking without him.
- 54:45Speaker 1: I thought I was cool when I got a muscle
- 54:47Speaker 1: shirt to match my legs, but I've never seen talking
- 54:51Speaker 1: legs before. Oh this is so Goofy and his friends
- 54:58Speaker 1: are looking down, and Zorro says, oh, great, now he's
- 55:01Speaker 1: going to ask that freak show to join the crew,
- 55:04Speaker 1: which hadn't occurred to me. But it makes a lot
- 55:07Speaker 1: of sense why everybody would be assuming that. So we
- 55:12Speaker 1: back up even further, and we see somebody looking through
- 55:15Speaker 1: like binoculars at all of them and making account of
- 55:21Speaker 1: how many there are, and he says four intruders, and
- 55:27Speaker 1: he makes a call. And earlier there had been a
- 55:30Speaker 1: moment where Oosup saw a weird like it almost looked
- 55:36Speaker 1: like a harpie, a woman with like she's got a
- 55:41Speaker 1: woman's head, but apparently like birds wings or potentially like
- 55:45Speaker 1: a siren. And she disappears and nobody else seems to
- 55:51Speaker 1: have seen her except Oosup. So this person makes a call.
- 55:56Speaker 1: The call gets picked up by a dude who says, yeah,
- 55:59Speaker 1: they're right here. I got all four in my sights.
- 56:02Speaker 1: And then a response from the woman. I think it's
- 56:06Speaker 1: the same woman because she's got that bright green hair,
- 56:07Speaker 1: and she says, I'll take care of them, don't worry
- 56:10Speaker 1: about it. And she says, you have fun with that
- 56:14Speaker 1: and licks her lips. Oh, he says he'll take care
- 56:18Speaker 1: of them. I thought she was saying it, but no,
- 56:19Speaker 1: it's him that says that. But she licks her lips
- 56:22Speaker 1: and I was thinking for a moment that she was
- 56:26Speaker 1: going to eat them, but then she says, call me
- 56:30Speaker 1: back when you're done, So she's not going to have
- 56:33Speaker 1: anything to do with this evidently, and she is heading
- 56:36Speaker 1: into the snowy area and just sort of, you know,
- 56:41Speaker 1: doing god knows what, but she seems very entertained by
- 56:44Speaker 1: this whole thing. I don't know why she wants them dead.
- 56:47Speaker 1: I don't know what's happening here, but that is the
- 56:50Speaker 1: end of the episode, is just seeing her or flying
- 56:53Speaker 1: over the mountains. So yeah, I enjoyed that. I thought
- 56:57Speaker 1: that that was a real weird trio of episodisodes. They've
- 57:01Speaker 1: got my attention. I don't know what's coming here, so
- 57:03Speaker 1: I will be extremely interested to see. All right, everybody,
- 57:07Speaker 1: thank you so much, appreciate you all, Thank you Florian
- 57:10Speaker 1: for commissioning this one. And until next time to the
- 57:13Speaker 1: lude motherfuckers. That was an unspoiled Network podcast.
