- 0:09Speaker 1: Welcome to the Favorites, presented by DraftKings. The crown is yours.
- 0:13Speaker 1: I'm your host, Brandon Kravitz, joined by the Queen of
- 0:16Speaker 1: the Podmus Kendra Middleton, the Prime Minister of degen Nation,
- 0:20Speaker 1: Stucky a much deserved vacation. Some good news, Kendra, the
- 0:25Speaker 1: losing streak was snapped as of the last twenty four hours.
- 0:29Speaker 1: I am up zero point four units. We will take
- 0:33Speaker 1: the small wins where we can get them.
- 0:35Speaker 2: We love small units.
- 0:38Speaker 1: It's so frustrating, Like I'll go, I've begoing days and
- 0:41Speaker 1: days where you're like of just losing bushels of bets,
- 0:44Speaker 1: and then I finally have a winning day and it's like,
- 0:47Speaker 1: here's a little eminem so that you feel better about life.
- 0:50Speaker 1: But honestly it works. I'm in a much better mood
- 0:53Speaker 1: today just knowing that I'm not completely lost, and I
- 0:58Speaker 1: feel like I feel like Miley Cyrus. It's the climb,
- 1:03Speaker 1: you know, mmmm.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Gonna gave.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Hell.
- 1:11Speaker 1: It's the question.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Okay, I love it. Did you watch the New handam
- 1:19Speaker 2: on tennis?
- 1:19Speaker 1: But I can't say that, can't say that I did. Okay,
- 1:24Speaker 1: that's what I hear. That's what I hear. As I'm
- 1:26Speaker 1: as I'm slamming my wagers into the action app. I
- 1:29Speaker 1: just hear Miley singing in my head.
- 1:31Speaker 2: I'll allow it.
- 1:33Speaker 1: So since Stuck he's not here today, I'm going to
- 1:36Speaker 1: take over our random question of the week.
- 1:40Speaker 4: Hey, this is a dumb question.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Let me ask you a personal question.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Kind of question?
- 1:46Speaker 2: Is that is question?
- 1:49Speaker 1: What pet peeve of yours is so trivial that you
- 1:53Speaker 1: feel weird complaining about it?
- 1:56Speaker 3: Okay, I have a full blown confession, and people are
- 2:01Speaker 3: going to think I'm the biggest.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Bitch in the entire world once I finish the story.
- 2:05Speaker 3: My biggest pep peeve in the whole world is when
- 2:08Speaker 3: people eat and then they scrape their teeth off of
- 2:12Speaker 3: their fork like they bite their fork, and it makes
- 2:14Speaker 3: that like crazy sound. You probably have never noticed it before,
- 2:16Speaker 3: but now that I've mentioned it, you will.
- 2:19Speaker 2: I dated this kid for like a year.
- 2:20Speaker 3: And a half who did it, and like six months
- 2:22Speaker 3: in he would not stop, even though every time he
- 2:24Speaker 3: did it it drove me nuts. So I took the
- 2:27Speaker 3: square bottle that I use for the dog when he's
- 2:30Speaker 3: doing something that pisses me off, and I started squirting
- 2:33Speaker 3: him in the face with a squirp bottle to train
- 2:35Speaker 3: it to not bite his fork?
- 2:36Speaker 1: Did that sort of negative reinforcement work on your ex.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Here the shit out of him quite a few times.
- 2:42Speaker 3: But yeah, eventually he did stop fucking his work.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna need to talk to you about why
- 2:48Speaker 1: you keep squirting me in the face with a water bottle.
- 2:51Speaker 2: I literally kept it on the kitchen counter and we'd.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Be like sitting at the island eating and I would just.
- 2:57Speaker 1: I think anything involving like uh uh, like teeth, stuff
- 3:02Speaker 1: that noise, that's definitely understandable. One for me, that is,
- 3:10Speaker 1: so this one's common. So I don't think it applies
- 3:13Speaker 1: to my own question. But when I see people, please
- 3:17Speaker 1: tell me you're not the type of person that backs
- 3:19Speaker 1: into your parking spot.
- 3:21Speaker 2: I am, I am.
- 3:24Speaker 1: I like to can can I say like it's cool
- 3:28Speaker 1: that people can do that confidently confidently?
- 3:32Speaker 4: No?
- 3:33Speaker 1: I mean, and I have I have a camera, But like,
- 3:37Speaker 1: can I do it quickly and confidently? No? Can I
- 3:40Speaker 1: do it?
- 3:40Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 3:40Speaker 1: Of course, but I have a license, I have I
- 3:44Speaker 1: have a key K four, Come on, gravits, it's got
- 3:48Speaker 1: it does have a nice big camera. I mean, I
- 3:51Speaker 1: think I can watch TV on this thing. It's so
- 3:53Speaker 1: the dash is so big. But uh, when I see
- 3:56Speaker 1: that irks me. But I think that that's something that
- 3:58Speaker 1: bothers a lot of people. So that's that's not trivial
- 4:02Speaker 1: and uncommon. When I see people at the gym look
- 4:06Speaker 1: for the parking spot that's closest to the entrance, it
- 4:11Speaker 1: sends me into a mental rage. Why are you concerned
- 4:17Speaker 1: about the length of time it takes you to get
- 4:19Speaker 1: from your car to the front door of the gym
- 4:22Speaker 1: when you're gonna go work out. I just I want
- 4:25Speaker 1: to interview these people on the spot. I obsess over it.
- 4:30Speaker 2: I do this at because.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Like where I go it's I don't want to give
- 4:34Speaker 3: out where I work out, but you have to walk
- 4:36Speaker 3: up three flights of stairs to get to like the
- 4:38Speaker 3: section of like different workout classes. And I see people
- 4:42Speaker 3: who are going to workout classes take the elevator and
- 4:46Speaker 3: I'm like, you're going to work out, You're not, you know.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Out of shape.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Why are you taking the elevator up the same content
- 4:53Speaker 3: flights of stairs.
- 4:54Speaker 2: I don't. It drives me nuts.
- 4:55Speaker 3: And then like I'll beat them up the stairs and
- 4:57Speaker 3: they'll be six feet behind me getting off the elevator,
- 4:59Speaker 3: and I'm like, I just I don't understand. You clearly
- 5:02Speaker 3: can go to a workout class, which means you can
- 5:04Speaker 3: get up a flight of stairs like the the.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I just I don't get it.
- 5:07Speaker 1: It's the same thing at my office. I work in
- 5:10Speaker 1: a building that is on the fourth floor. I'll get
- 5:12Speaker 1: in the elevator. I feel like taking the elevator up
- 5:16Speaker 1: to the fourth floor is pretty reasonable. When people get
- 5:19Speaker 1: in with me and then they're getting and then they
- 5:20Speaker 1: hit the number two button, I go, you're right there.
- 5:23Speaker 1: There are seven steps away from not annoying the shit
- 5:27Speaker 1: out of me. Why is this your decision driving me
- 5:30Speaker 1: absolutely crazy? There's one other I wanted to throw at you,
- 5:33Speaker 1: because I feel like this is something that you would
- 5:36Speaker 1: be good at. As far as answering this on the
- 5:38Speaker 1: fly from people where I turn into a blubbering shell,
- 5:45Speaker 1: like I just don't I don't know what to say.
- 5:47Speaker 1: When I'm at the grocery store, I don't know if
- 5:49Speaker 1: they do this in Boston, but this happens all the
- 5:53Speaker 1: time to me where I'm checking out. This is always
- 5:55Speaker 1: the person who's who's ringing up your items and then
- 5:59Speaker 1: they ask me, do you have any big plans today?
- 6:04Speaker 1: Do they do that where you are?
- 6:05Speaker 2: Or is this just a like people in Boston are
- 6:08Speaker 2: mean as hell.
- 6:09Speaker 3: They don't They do not give a shit about anything
- 6:12Speaker 3: about you.
- 6:13Speaker 1: You would get so excited if somebody asked you that
- 6:15Speaker 1: it stresses me out. I don't know what to say.
- 6:18Speaker 1: I'm buying Deli meat, chocolate chip cookies, and IPA's, Like,
- 6:21Speaker 1: does it look like I have big plans?
- 6:24Speaker 3: No? I think that the most vulgar like thing that
- 6:27Speaker 3: I've heard ever come out of someone's mouth was a
- 6:29Speaker 3: twelve year old at the bean Pot in Boston. People
- 6:31Speaker 3: here are not nice.
- 6:33Speaker 2: They don't care what you're doing this weekend.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Honestly, if somebody asked you that, they'd be like, I.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Don't know, screwing your mom or something, piss off.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Like literally, that's exactly what a Bostonian would say.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Which I think is why I love it up here.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Yeah, that does sound like a lovely place to be.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Still to come. John Yastremsky talks all things New York Sports,

- 7:39Speaker 1: Johnny Strumsky, hosts of the New York New York podcast
- 7:43Speaker 1: and frequently on your televisions on SNY. Great time to
- 7:48Speaker 1: have you on with New York at the epicenter of
- 7:50Speaker 1: so many things happening in the sports world. The Mets
- 7:53Speaker 1: are dead, the NBA Playoffs are starting. We get Nix Hawks,
- 7:57Speaker 1: one of the best first round series in all of
- 7:59Speaker 1: the NBA playoffs, the Jets and the Giants both picking
- 8:03Speaker 1: in the top five. What a time to be a
- 8:05Speaker 1: sports fan in New York. Josh, Well, you and.
- 8:07Speaker 5: I can, first of all, thank you for having me on.
- 8:10Speaker 5: I needed the double expresso today. I after sitting for
- 8:13Speaker 5: another Met Dodger game, and I'm gonna give you, guys
- 8:16Speaker 5: a confession right out of the gate. I did one
- 8:18Speaker 5: of these on Instagram yesterday. And you know, the kids
- 8:22Speaker 5: are all on TikTok now, so I'm trying to be
- 8:24Speaker 5: cool and hit and putting up the videos. I was
- 8:26Speaker 5: dumb enough to take the Mets plus one sixty thinking, hey,
- 8:29Speaker 5: did do the win Dodgers do to lose? I'm getting
- 8:33Speaker 5: plus one sixty fourteen strakeouts later with you know how
- 8:40Speaker 5: stupid baseball can be. Guys, Come on, you gotta take
- 8:42Speaker 5: a shot every now and again. But it was a
- 8:44Speaker 5: poor investment, let's just put it that way.
- 8:46Speaker 2: I'm surprised that that was your mo.
- 8:48Speaker 3: I actually listened to your show from Monday and you
- 8:50Speaker 3: went on a massive rant about how they have no identity.
- 8:53Speaker 3: So for you to come back and you know you're
- 8:56Speaker 3: pretty negative about them, going.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Out to play the Dodgers. So I'm surprised to hear
- 8:59Speaker 2: you say that.
- 9:00Speaker 5: You know, kencra I was pretty negative. Right, They go
- 9:03Speaker 5: and lose the first two games. Baseball is just such
- 9:06Speaker 5: a nutty sport, though, Like usually when you think one
- 9:10Speaker 5: thing you're gonna zig, you end up seeing a zag
- 9:13Speaker 5: and you know the problem the Bets are running into. Obviously,
- 9:15Speaker 5: not having won Soto is a huge problem. We're talking
- 9:18Speaker 5: about one of the five best hitters in all baseball.
- 9:21Speaker 5: But you know, the Mets didn't have an offense problem
- 9:23Speaker 5: last year, Like they scored a ton of runs. And
- 9:26Speaker 5: they say goodbye to Peter Wanzo, he's in Baltimore. They
- 9:29Speaker 5: made this Nemo for Simon trade because they wanted out
- 9:32Speaker 5: of the NEMO contract. The problem is, Marcus Simion looks
- 9:35Speaker 5: like a zillion years old. He looks like you should
- 9:37Speaker 5: be playing in the men's league down the block for
- 9:39Speaker 5: me in Brooklyn. And he can't get around on a
- 9:41Speaker 5: fastball anymore. And the met lineup is just not producing.
- 9:45Speaker 5: So they got problems. The good news is they got
- 9:47Speaker 5: a ton of games to figure it out. The division
- 9:50Speaker 5: is not great. I wouldn't bet them to go and
- 9:53Speaker 5: win the division. I still think they can find their
- 9:55Speaker 5: way to the postseason.
- 9:57Speaker 1: So they have perhaps the biggest training wreck of all
- 10:00Speaker 1: all Major League Baseball teams right now, and you take
- 10:02Speaker 1: into account how much they're spending on this roster. They've
- 10:05Speaker 1: lost eight straight, seven and twelve to start the year.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Highest payroll in baseball. How panicked are you? You said
- 10:14Speaker 1: that you think that you they can make the postseason.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Where would you put the panic meter for Mets fans
- 10:22Speaker 1: out there?
- 10:22Speaker 4: Okay, that's a great question.
- 10:24Speaker 5: If ten is being the highest, then one is being
- 10:26Speaker 5: the lowest. How about a six, six and a half
- 10:30Speaker 5: and it should be lower because we're still talking about
- 10:34Speaker 5: what like three weeks of one hundred and sixty two games.
- 10:37Speaker 5: There's still a ton of baseball left to be played.
- 10:41Speaker 5: The problem is this team has been completely transformed. They
- 10:45Speaker 5: did a facelift from what they were a year ago.
- 10:48Speaker 5: They were awful for three months, they choked the playoffs,
- 10:50Speaker 5: they got beat out by the Cincinnati Reds. You guys
- 10:53Speaker 5: mentioned the fact that they spend a ton of money
- 10:55Speaker 5: on the roster, which is a thousand percent true. You
- 10:58Speaker 5: want a better return on yours men. The reason I
- 11:01Speaker 5: have hope though, that want two punched the top. The
- 11:04Speaker 5: rotation should be really, really good. Noel McClain is the
- 11:07Speaker 5: real deal. Freddy Peralt is pitching for a contract. He's
- 11:11Speaker 5: gonna put up numbers, and their pitching has not been
- 11:13Speaker 5: the problem. They're not scoring any runs.
- 11:16Speaker 4: Sooner, a lady, you.
- 11:17Speaker 5: Gotta figure the metal offense is gonna get going. But
- 11:20Speaker 5: they don't have a Loonzo anymore. They don't have Nimo anymore.
- 11:23Speaker 5: So it's gonna require these guys that you brought in
- 11:24Speaker 5: the off season. When am I getting some out of
- 11:26Speaker 5: Jorge Polanco? When am I getting some out of Marcus Simeon?
- 11:30Speaker 5: And hey, Bobaschett stolen from the Phillies. Everybody in New
- 11:33Speaker 5: York celebrating the fact that Bobashett is no longer a
- 11:35Speaker 5: member of the Philadelphia Phillies.
- 11:37Speaker 4: When's he gonna start hitting? So you need to answer
- 11:38Speaker 4: those questions.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Okay, I have this or that question for you. Better
- 11:44Speaker 1: bet right now? Yankees doing the World Series of plus
- 11:48Speaker 1: he was just gonna say this or the Mets to
- 11:51Speaker 1: miss the playoffs at plus one point.
- 11:55Speaker 5: I gotta take the Yankees to in the World Series,
- 11:57Speaker 5: and I think they have major awards and major deficients.
- 12:00Speaker 5: But let's just think about the American League. Who is
- 12:03Speaker 5: really keeping you up at nine in the American League?
- 12:06Speaker 5: I mean, I think the Dodgers is gonna win a
- 12:07Speaker 5: World Series. I hope I'm wrong on this because they
- 12:09Speaker 5: should have lost the World Series last year to the
- 12:11Speaker 5: Blue Jays. They worked thoroughly outplayed. They look like the
- 12:14Speaker 5: class of baseball, without question. But who's the team that
- 12:20Speaker 5: you like in the American League?
- 12:21Speaker 4: Seattle?
- 12:22Speaker 1: Just so?
- 12:22Speaker 4: The Yankees going take two editors from the Mariners early
- 12:25Speaker 4: this year.
- 12:25Speaker 5: Rough start for them too, a rough start, struggling to
- 12:28Speaker 5: score runs, you believe in Baltimore.
- 12:31Speaker 4: I actually like them.
- 12:32Speaker 5: I think they're gonna go over their win total this year.
- 12:34Speaker 5: I think they have a chance to be a playoff team.
- 12:37Speaker 5: Am I ready to say the the Orioles are better
- 12:39Speaker 5: than the Yankees?
- 12:40Speaker 4: I'm not. I think the Blue Jays strike me.
- 12:43Speaker 5: Gang is like that classic World Series loser hangover type
- 12:47Speaker 5: of team, Like we've seen this in other sports where
- 12:50Speaker 5: you're just kind of in a funk, get in a
- 12:52Speaker 5: malaise kind of all year because of the dramatic way
- 12:56Speaker 5: you lost the World Series.
- 12:57Speaker 4: And Gang, I hope nobody's a fan of a team
- 13:00Speaker 4: in the America League Central. We have a rule around here.
- 13:03Speaker 5: We see America League Central teams in the playoffs, we
- 13:06Speaker 5: fade the crap out of them.
- 13:07Speaker 4: They don't win in the postseason.
- 13:09Speaker 5: So I go through this little exercise, and I know
- 13:12Speaker 5: Garrett Cole's coming back.
- 13:13Speaker 4: I know Carlos Rodin's coming back.
- 13:16Speaker 5: You still got Aaron Judge, who, outside of Otani's the
- 13:18Speaker 5: best player on planet Earth.
- 13:20Speaker 4: I'll take my shot.
- 13:21Speaker 5: I can get the Yankees in the World Series and
- 13:23Speaker 5: maybe get a decent Hedge number.
- 13:24Speaker 4: So I'll take that over the Mets to miss the postseason.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Okay, but the Yankees' issues aren't pitching. It's the fact
- 13:30Speaker 3: that their guys just can't hit the ball right now.
- 13:32Speaker 3: And Aaron Judge, we watched him in the World Baseball Classic.
- 13:35Speaker 2: I think he's cursed.
- 13:36Speaker 3: He's an absolute world class choker loser. I just can't
- 13:40Speaker 3: get there on this. I think that he is a choker.
- 13:43Speaker 4: Well, listen, Kenja.
- 13:45Speaker 5: Unfortunately, until he wins a championship, you can run with
- 13:49Speaker 5: that narrative.
- 13:50Speaker 4: I can't fight him, by the way.
- 13:52Speaker 5: But here, hold on a second, though, I got a
- 13:54Speaker 5: and I've killed Judge plenty for not showing up in
- 13:56Speaker 5: the postseason. But let's be fair on this last year.
- 13:59Speaker 5: He was not the problem in their series against Toronto.
- 14:01Speaker 5: He had a great series. He had a big time
- 14:03Speaker 5: home running Game three. Max Freed didn't get the job done.
- 14:07Speaker 5: The Yankee lineup other than Judge didn't get the job done.
- 14:10Speaker 5: But forget about all that, because I got it. You
- 14:11Speaker 5: play for the Yankees.
- 14:14Speaker 4: If he had no but hold on, hold on, hold on.
- 14:17Speaker 5: If he had hit six hundred with like seven home
- 14:21Speaker 5: runs in the WBC and won it for Team USA,
- 14:25Speaker 5: what would the narrative be from the Yankee hater, Oh, great,
- 14:29Speaker 5: doing it, you know what I'm saying, Like, no, you might,
- 14:32Speaker 5: but the Judge hater and the Yankee hater would be like,
- 14:36Speaker 5: oh great, he's doing it in March exhibitions.
- 14:39Speaker 4: When is he going to carry the Yankees to a check?
- 14:41Speaker 3: Everybody, you would pull out the Kermit the Frog puppet
- 14:44Speaker 3: for Garrett Cole.
- 14:45Speaker 2: That's exactly what would happen.
- 14:46Speaker 5: Well, you know what, Cole and Mahomes, they got that.
- 14:50Speaker 5: They got that going for them right now.
- 14:52Speaker 4: They got that but changer.
- 14:53Speaker 5: Okay, So you have skepticism about the Yankees getting at
- 14:56Speaker 5: the top of the Mountain, which is fair and I
- 14:58Speaker 5: totally understand it.
- 14:59Speaker 4: Bottom of the orders stinks. Who do you like more
- 15:01Speaker 4: in the American League?
- 15:03Speaker 3: I was high on the Blue Jays early in the season,
- 15:06Speaker 3: but right now you're right, there isn't anybody that I
- 15:08Speaker 3: feel more confident about. I just I feel like they
- 15:12Speaker 3: are the Yankees are their own worst enemy at times,
- 15:14Speaker 3: and that is my fear with putting a future on them.
- 15:18Speaker 5: Yeah, I get it, and I wouldn't bet them to
- 15:20Speaker 5: beat the Dodgers. But you see what I'm saying, Brenna.
- 15:22Speaker 5: If I could get them in the World Series ten
- 15:25Speaker 5: to one number, if they play a competitive series with
- 15:28Speaker 5: the Dodgers, that could at least have a little fun
- 15:30Speaker 5: maybe all that's.
- 15:30Speaker 1: The problem is if the Dodgers are in there, hedging
- 15:33Speaker 1: out of that is going to be expensive.
- 15:34Speaker 5: Well, what do we think if it's Yankees Dodgers World Series?
- 15:38Speaker 4: What are you going to make the Dodgers basically two
- 15:39Speaker 4: to one favorites at.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Least, that's going be more like three point fifty.
- 15:43Speaker 5: Well, and that's crazy because when they matched up two
- 15:46Speaker 5: years ago. Now, I get it, the Dodgers had not
- 15:48Speaker 5: won these back to back championships.
- 15:50Speaker 4: They're pitching.
- 15:51Speaker 5: If you remember the World Series two years ago, was
- 15:53Speaker 5: like in absolute tatters, like you're trying to figure out
- 15:56Speaker 5: who's starting games for them. They were like, I want
- 15:59Speaker 5: to say, like one fifty or one fifty five.
- 16:02Speaker 4: They will not be that this time around.
- 16:04Speaker 1: This would be three though.
- 16:06Speaker 5: I don't know if they see the Yankee tax. Though,
- 16:08Speaker 5: I don't know if they'd go three with you against
- 16:10Speaker 5: the Yankees.
- 16:11Speaker 4: If we got there.
- 16:12Speaker 1: The Yankee tax, that is definitely definitely a thing. I
- 16:15Speaker 1: wonder if we're getting that too in the NBA with
- 16:19Speaker 1: the Knicks and the Hawks. I run some of my
- 16:22Speaker 1: own numbers. I cannot get anywhere close to the Knicks
- 16:28Speaker 1: line against the Atlanta Hawks. I have this at minus
- 16:31Speaker 1: one eighty four. Let me pull up with this series
- 16:34Speaker 1: price is right now between these two. Right now, the
- 16:39Speaker 1: New York Knicks are minus two seventy five. Do you
- 16:41Speaker 1: think there's a Knicks tax in Round one against Atlanta?
- 16:45Speaker 4: No question?
- 16:46Speaker 5: And let's be real, gang, we saw this last year
- 16:49Speaker 5: in Round one against Detroit with a Knicks I don't
- 16:53Speaker 5: remember exactly what the series price was, it was pretty outrageous,
- 16:58Speaker 5: and Detroit was this up and co team and the
- 17:00Speaker 5: way that Atlanta in many ways has been this up
- 17:03Speaker 5: and coming team. And look, the Hawks scare me. They've
- 17:06Speaker 5: played great basketball down the stretch. They've won eighteen out
- 17:09Speaker 5: of twenty games. I mean you do that calling me impressed.
- 17:13Speaker 5: They've played big time defense, they can agitate. I think
- 17:17Speaker 5: they are lack of size though, see there we go.
- 17:19Speaker 5: They were minus four hundred. The Knicks should have never
- 17:22Speaker 5: in a million years been minus four hundred against the Pistons.
- 17:24Speaker 5: And I remember I had the minus one and a
- 17:25Speaker 5: half for the series and if the watching Game two,
- 17:28Speaker 5: I felt like crap about it. Then a Knick's yucked
- 17:30Speaker 5: up Game five and I'm like, this is dead. This
- 17:32Speaker 5: is gonna be a seventh game, and Brunston saved my bacon.
- 17:36Speaker 5: I think we'll have a hard fought series.
- 17:38Speaker 4: I do.
- 17:39Speaker 5: I think Atlanta is going to scare New Yorkers to
- 17:42Speaker 5: the point where like this could be a two to
- 17:44Speaker 5: two series heading back to Madison Square Gordon. But I
- 17:47Speaker 5: think two things end up being the difference Brunston in
- 17:50Speaker 5: crunch time, where I'm gonna look at the other side
- 17:52Speaker 5: for Atlanta, and if the games are tight, who's gonna
- 17:55Speaker 5: be the guy?
- 17:56Speaker 4: I love CJ. McCollum.
- 17:57Speaker 5: But he is he gonna be the guy that's gonna
- 17:59Speaker 5: go and basically carry them in, you know, fourth quarter,
- 18:03Speaker 5: two three minutes to go, go and get big buckets
- 18:06Speaker 5: and big situations. Then the size problem, and this is
- 18:10Speaker 5: where Karl Anthony Towns cannot be the invisible man. He
- 18:14Speaker 5: has got to be thoroughly involved in the game plan.
- 18:17Speaker 4: He's got to be involved across the board. That's how
- 18:21Speaker 4: I get the Knicks and six. But to your point,
- 18:23Speaker 4: it's a fair one, Brandon.
- 18:24Speaker 5: I think this line is way too overduiced, and I
- 18:27Speaker 5: would not feel good about laying two seventy five the way.
- 18:31Speaker 3: Obviously, the expectation here is that the Knicks are going
- 18:34Speaker 3: to survive this series, whether it winds up being four
- 18:37Speaker 3: Gentlemens or six, however it goes. I don't think it's
- 18:39Speaker 3: going to go to seven. But what's kind of your
- 18:42Speaker 3: expectation for this team is it?
- 18:44Speaker 2: At this point? Is it Eastern Conference or bust?
- 18:46Speaker 1: Do you?
- 18:47Speaker 3: Are you okay if they wind up, you know, going
- 18:48Speaker 3: to seven with the Celtics and losing, or are you
- 18:51Speaker 3: just so gung ho they better make it out of
- 18:53Speaker 3: the Eastern Conference? Where are you at with kind of
- 18:56Speaker 3: looking at the futurest perspective of the next because I
- 18:58Speaker 3: think that's probably where you're going to find some at
- 19:00Speaker 3: this point.
- 19:01Speaker 5: Okay, it's a very simple gang time to get to
- 19:03Speaker 5: the NBA Finals. Maybe it's because I've been waiting since
- 19:05Speaker 5: nineteen ninety nine to see my beloving New York Knicks
- 19:09Speaker 5: playing in the NBA Finals, which, by the way, wasn't
- 19:12Speaker 5: such a happy memory. Tim Duncan, David Robinson, San Antonio,
- 19:15Speaker 5: the whole deal. You fired Tom Thibodeau. You didn't fire
- 19:18Speaker 5: Tom Thibodeau to say, hey, we had a good.
- 19:20Speaker 4: Series against the Celtics. It was hard fought, it was close,
- 19:24Speaker 4: we came up short.
- 19:25Speaker 5: Or if you go and lose to Detroit because of
- 19:27Speaker 5: what they can do to Jalen Bronson, No no, no, no,
- 19:30Speaker 5: no no.
- 19:31Speaker 4: You say goodbye to a coach.
- 19:33Speaker 5: That had won fifty games at consecutive seasons, that built
- 19:36Speaker 5: the program from the ground up to get to the
- 19:39Speaker 5: next level, to get to the next step. If the
- 19:42Speaker 5: Knicks are not in the NBA Finals, this season is
- 19:45Speaker 5: a bitter disappointment period, end of discussion. There were no
- 19:48Speaker 5: moral victories, there's no all good tries. No no, no, no,
- 19:52Speaker 5: you could go get smoked by Oklahoma City, you can
- 19:54Speaker 5: go get smoked by San Antonio. With Denver, I can
- 19:57Speaker 5: accept that you can't get knocked out out by one
- 20:00Speaker 5: of these Eastern Conference teams, because then you have to wonder.
- 20:03Speaker 4: If if the Knicks can't get to the NBA Finals.
- 20:06Speaker 5: This year with this group, Hey, Jason Tatum's only going
- 20:09Speaker 5: to healthier next year. Pace's gonna get tyris Alburton back.
- 20:12Speaker 5: Who knows they might have themselves a top five pick.
- 20:14Speaker 5: For all we know, Detroit's going to be a problem.
- 20:16Speaker 5: Charlotte's on the up and up. I mean, I could
- 20:18Speaker 5: go on and on and on. We wonder, hey, is
- 20:21Speaker 5: this Nick team ever gonna get there? So the time
- 20:23Speaker 5: is now.
- 20:25Speaker 3: So when talking about, you know, the ability for the
- 20:27Speaker 3: Knicks to beat the Celtics, Tatum's not going to get
- 20:29Speaker 3: any healthier. There's rumors that, you know, the Celtics are
- 20:32Speaker 3: interested in Yiannis.
- 20:33Speaker 2: I believe in that piece.
- 20:34Speaker 3: But for me, I kind of look at the potential
- 20:36Speaker 3: of that series and the fact that Jason Tatum has
- 20:39Speaker 3: so openly talked about being nervous to play at Madison
- 20:42Speaker 3: Square Garden again just because that's where he got injured.
- 20:45Speaker 2: How much do you kind of look at the mental.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Math aspect of that when kind of evaluating the next
- 20:49Speaker 3: Celtics series.
- 20:50Speaker 5: You know, if we get there, Kendra, It's interesting because
- 20:53Speaker 5: you mentioned, hey, the PTSD of Jason Tatum and the
- 20:57Speaker 5: achilles injury last year in Game four, but there also
- 21:01Speaker 5: is the dangling carrott a motivation.
- 21:03Speaker 4: That's a very prideful Celtic team.
- 21:06Speaker 5: So I'm sure for Jason Tatum, for Jalen Brown, for
- 21:09Speaker 5: Peyton Pritchard, for any of the guys who were on
- 21:12Speaker 5: that team last year, it probably makes them sick to
- 21:14Speaker 5: their stomach that they had to deal with a forty
- 21:18Speaker 5: minute party at Madison Square Garden with the next one
- 21:21Speaker 5: Game six, and listen, I love my New York brethren.
- 21:24Speaker 5: They are the best. A little nuts celebrating after Game
- 21:28Speaker 5: six like the NBA. I can't imagine what they do
- 21:30Speaker 5: if they actually won an NBA championship. But be that
- 21:32Speaker 5: as it may, I'm sure that is in the mind
- 21:35Speaker 5: of the Boston Celtics saying, hey, we get these guys again,
- 21:39Speaker 5: We're gonna go and stick it to them. But my
- 21:41Speaker 5: counter would be, I've seen these regular season matchups. You
- 21:45Speaker 5: go back to the postseason series last year. I think
- 21:48Speaker 5: in that the Knicks matchup very well with Boston because
- 21:50Speaker 5: of the versatility of their wings to be able to switch.
- 21:54Speaker 5: It's where Ananobe comes into play. It's where Michel Bridges
- 21:58Speaker 5: comes into play.
- 22:00Speaker 4: Up and down.
- 22:01Speaker 5: The Knicks have had real good success playing against Boston
- 22:04Speaker 5: in like their last six seven to eight matchups, give
- 22:07Speaker 5: or take.
- 22:08Speaker 4: So for me, I think the Knicks would find a
- 22:10Speaker 4: way to win that series. I do.
- 22:11Speaker 5: I may be in a minority on this. I know
- 22:13Speaker 5: they'll be underdogs in the series and they will not
- 22:15Speaker 5: have home court advantage. I think the next will beat
- 22:17Speaker 5: the Celtics.
- 22:18Speaker 4: The team that.
- 22:18Speaker 5: Scares the crap out of me from a Nick perspective
- 22:20Speaker 5: is Detroit because despite the fact that they struggle a score,
- 22:25Speaker 5: they can make life miserable on Jalen Brunson. He is
- 22:30Speaker 5: so incredibly uncomfortable when he matches up with the physicality
- 22:34Speaker 5: of what Detroit throws at him. And I know Detroit, Hey,
- 22:38Speaker 5: there are questions about the outside shooting. Is there enough
- 22:41Speaker 5: around Kate Cunningham. That's the team that I have circled.
- 22:44Speaker 5: If somebody's going to stop the Knicks from getting to
- 22:46Speaker 5: the NBA Finals. In my opinion, at least it's Detroit.
- 22:49Speaker 1: They used to have questions about okc's outside shooting too,
- 22:52Speaker 1: and then they just went and smothered everybody on their
- 22:54Speaker 1: way to a championship. They added some three point shooting,
- 22:58Speaker 1: which helped. But I wonder if Detroit is on a
- 23:00Speaker 1: similar trajectory because defensively, they're the closest thing that I
- 23:05Speaker 1: see to what Okay see delivers and their ability to
- 23:08Speaker 1: turn teams over. I'm sure JJ, since you sound confident
- 23:13Speaker 1: on the Knicks, that you are probably in tatters when
- 23:16Speaker 1: you see that the Calves are actually a shorter number
- 23:19Speaker 1: to win the NBA Championship seventeen to one as opposed
- 23:22Speaker 1: to eighteen to one on the New York Knicks.
- 23:24Speaker 5: Okay, you guys got to explain this to me, right,
- 23:26Speaker 5: And I understand that there are numbers that come in
- 23:28Speaker 5: and Brandon, you probably have all sorts of models, and
- 23:30Speaker 5: you are brilliant, and you have stuff that is beyond
- 23:33Speaker 5: my little pe brant and my suit card. No no, no,
- 23:37Speaker 5: I'm gonna butter up my host a little bit because
- 23:39Speaker 5: you guys are absolutely all over this. But here's his
- 23:41Speaker 5: dirty will suit.
- 23:42Speaker 2: You have a Falcon's future. Let's be honest.
- 23:45Speaker 4: Seventy five to one.
- 23:46Speaker 1: This is this is a gorgeous we call the portfolio,
- 23:49Speaker 1: Kentri we call that a lottery ticket.
- 23:51Speaker 5: We like to have a good lottery ticket every now
- 23:53Speaker 5: and again. But let's just explain this to me. The
- 23:56Speaker 5: Cleveland Cavaliers have been nothing but losers with this group
- 23:59Speaker 5: in the post season, nothing but losers. They got embarrassed
- 24:02Speaker 5: by the next a few years ago where I think
- 24:04Speaker 5: Mitchell Robinson ate their launch, grabbed every rebound, blocked every shot,
- 24:08Speaker 5: and it was as embarrassing a first round series as you're.
- 24:11Speaker 4: Going to see for a team that had high expectations.
- 24:14Speaker 5: Then I see Indiana last year go and destroy them
- 24:18Speaker 5: and they add maybe the biggest loser in the history
- 24:22Speaker 5: of the postseason in James Harden.
- 24:25Speaker 4: And we're lining up to going back Cleveland to go
- 24:27Speaker 4: to the NBA Finals.
- 24:29Speaker 5: Please, if you want to go, anybody out there, I'm
- 24:32Speaker 5: looking for some secondary revenue and income, you know, maybe Venmo, PayPal, Zell,
- 24:38Speaker 5: whatever you want to do, I will.
- 24:40Speaker 4: Gladly book your bet on Cleveland. Send it to me.
- 24:44Speaker 5: I'm happy to keep it in my portfolio. You're not
- 24:46Speaker 5: cashing that bad boy. They're not getting to the NBA Finals,
- 24:49Speaker 5: and they sure as hell out winning get championships.
- 24:53Speaker 1: That was fantastic. I don't think it has anything to
- 24:57Speaker 1: do with matching up Nicks the Calves. They do think
- 25:03Speaker 1: the Calves. The Calves are a higher rated team than
- 25:06Speaker 1: the New York Knicks by a slight margin. Now you
- 25:09Speaker 1: can layer in all of the factors of do you
- 25:12Speaker 1: trust James Harden and the answer should be unequivocally no.
- 25:16Speaker 1: In fact, I took a small position on the Raptors
- 25:19Speaker 1: to beat them in Round one at plus four twenty five.
- 25:22Speaker 1: So this is I'm not going to make a case
- 25:23Speaker 1: for why the Calves are better than the New York Knicks.
- 25:27Speaker 1: But I think it's a bracket problem because the Knicks
- 25:30Speaker 1: are on the side of the bracket with the Celtics.
- 25:32Speaker 1: So we assume the Knicks beat the Hawks, they and
- 25:34Speaker 1: the Celtics beat the seventy six ers, then the Knicks
- 25:37Speaker 1: have to get by Boston the market. If you talk
- 25:40Speaker 1: about a team that no one believes in, the number
- 25:42Speaker 1: one seed in the Eastern Conference is the Pistons.
- 25:45Speaker 4: Which I find hard to believe.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Gang.
- 25:47Speaker 4: I find hard to believe that nobody's in and I.
- 25:49Speaker 5: Get it, Kate coming back from the injury, and maybe
- 25:51Speaker 5: that's what scared some people off this Detroit teams taking
- 25:55Speaker 5: no prisoners all year, so again they got to show
- 25:58Speaker 5: that they can take that next step as a postseason team.
- 26:02Speaker 4: That's the team that's the scariest to me. They need
- 26:05Speaker 4: to take it.
- 26:05Speaker 1: You need to take a Pistons position in a Knicks position,
- 26:08Speaker 1: get yourself on both sides like that, you get yourself
- 26:12Speaker 1: a prophet.
- 26:13Speaker 3: I have a question, though, in all seriousness, what does
- 26:16Speaker 3: recovering from a collapse DeLong even look like? Like?
- 26:20Speaker 2: How many do you have to manage your minutes?
- 26:22Speaker 3: Like?
- 26:23Speaker 2: I genuinely have no idea.
- 26:25Speaker 4: Well, that makes two of us, Kendra, that makes two
- 26:28Speaker 4: of us.
- 26:28Speaker 2: I never got that.
- 26:30Speaker 4: I've never dealt with a collapse lo on.
- 26:32Speaker 5: I guess the good news for us is that we're
- 26:34Speaker 5: gonna get to watch the first round series of Detroit
- 26:37Speaker 5: more than likely playing the Charlotte Hornets.
- 26:39Speaker 4: Sorry in advance on that, Brandon.
- 26:41Speaker 2: What scares me?
- 26:42Speaker 4: By the way, we're good.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Charlotte will push Detroit. They will, they will.
- 26:47Speaker 5: What will we get Charlotte if they beat Orlando and
- 26:50Speaker 5: they puy Detroit at like plus two and a half games.
- 26:53Speaker 4: What are we gonna get that at? Like mine plus
- 26:55Speaker 4: one twenty.
- 26:58Speaker 1: I'm not even sure that you're gonna get us two
- 27:00Speaker 1: and a half.
- 27:00Speaker 2: I was going to say probably even money.
- 27:03Speaker 1: I think I think the spread on the series is
- 27:06Speaker 1: going to be one and a half. Those two teams
- 27:10Speaker 1: are not that far apart now I know.
- 27:11Speaker 4: And Charlotte. Charlotte's impressive.
- 27:13Speaker 1: We all like Charlotte.
- 27:14Speaker 5: That's why I think for the NBA's sake, And if
- 27:17Speaker 5: you guys couldn't tell already, I'm a sucker for narrative.
- 27:20Speaker 5: I like good narratives. I like to tell a story
- 27:23Speaker 5: for everybody's sake. Thank goodness to Miami Heat did not
- 27:25Speaker 5: win that game.
- 27:26Speaker 4: You want to see Charlotte. They're fun.
- 27:28Speaker 3: Okay, what are your thoughts on that game? I know
- 27:29Speaker 3: that this is not New York and this is a
- 27:31Speaker 3: little bit off.
- 27:31Speaker 4: That's fine, I talk anything, go ahead.
- 27:33Speaker 3: But this has been all over everything all week long.
- 27:37Speaker 3: I think it came out he was fined thirty thousand dollars.
- 27:39Speaker 3: Do you think that he should have been ejected? Do
- 27:41Speaker 3: you stand on that?
- 27:42Speaker 4: Yeah? Absolutely?
- 27:45Speaker 5: And can somebody explain to me why he wouldn't and listen.
- 27:49Speaker 5: I like I said, I want Charlotte to win because
- 27:52Speaker 5: I find them entertaining to watch. I want to see
- 27:53Speaker 5: them in a seven game series against Detroit. Why is
- 27:56Speaker 5: my ball not getting suspended for Friday's game? Does anybody
- 27:59Speaker 5: have an answer for that?
- 28:00Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 28:00Speaker 3: I do. It's because he's the best player on their team.
- 28:02Speaker 3: He's entertaining, and if they're going to make any money
- 28:05Speaker 3: or keep this series at all interesting, then that's that's
- 28:09Speaker 3: how it's.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Gonna have to be.
- 28:11Speaker 4: I like conspiracy theory, Kentra.
- 28:13Speaker 3: I don't even think it's a conspiracy theory, right Like,
- 28:16Speaker 3: he is the most entertaining person to watch on that team,
- 28:19Speaker 3: and he's going to keep them in the game.
- 28:21Speaker 2: Without him, it's just not even a question.
- 28:23Speaker 4: On the train. He was terrible the other day.
- 28:27Speaker 3: Somebody needs to tell Charlotte that her canipple is out.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Okay, but no, I.
- 28:33Speaker 4: Just played you said it, not me.
- 28:37Speaker 2: I just I I love him.
- 28:38Speaker 3: He's had a down second half of the season compared
- 28:41Speaker 3: to what I think that he's capable of. But for me,
- 28:43Speaker 3: it's just I think it also helps the books in
- 28:44Speaker 3: a weird way, right Like, it keeps a competitive acoust
- 28:46Speaker 3: of people gambling. Either way, You're just you're not You're
- 28:49Speaker 3: getting too too big of a favorite.
- 28:51Speaker 1: I mean, the Magic are in such shambles right now.
- 28:54Speaker 1: I'm not sure the Hornets even need LaMelo Ball, but
- 28:56Speaker 1: he is technically their best player, so we'll see how
- 28:59Speaker 1: it goes. I want to switch gears to the NFL.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Let's talk about the g men. They had a really
- 29:03Speaker 1: interesting offseason early impressions of the John Harbaugh era.
- 29:08Speaker 5: Okay, so I've been killing the Giants for the better
- 29:10Speaker 5: part of the last couple of years, and I've been
- 29:13Speaker 5: screaming they had to hire John Horball, and I under
- 29:16Speaker 5: see two things can be true at the same time.
- 29:19Speaker 5: I want to be perfectly clear on this. I thought
- 29:22Speaker 5: Baltimore needed to move on. There was a certain shelf
- 29:26Speaker 5: life that that team achieved. They didn't get to the
- 29:29Speaker 5: top of the mountain. Last year was a disaster. They
- 29:32Speaker 5: needed a new head coach. True, the Giants need a
- 29:36Speaker 5: program builder. They have been an absolute mess fears. John
- 29:40Speaker 5: Hornball comes in and the way I see a gang,
- 29:43Speaker 5: He's giving them instant credibility.
- 29:46Speaker 4: There's no questioning. Hey, all the nonsense.
- 29:49Speaker 5: That was going on with Brian Dable not having your
- 29:52Speaker 5: staff on the same page. The leaks to the media, which,
- 29:55Speaker 5: by the way, you leap stuff to the media in
- 29:57Speaker 5: New York. You think it's going to stay silent, think again.
- 30:01Speaker 5: People like to chat. People like to talk, and that's
- 30:03Speaker 5: why Brian David got himself into some trouble.
- 30:06Speaker 4: So I think Horbaugh is definitely going to give them
- 30:08Speaker 4: a boost.
- 30:09Speaker 5: From a coaching standpoint, I don't like what's going on
- 30:12Speaker 5: with this whole Dexter Lawrence situation. Dexter Lawrence is super
- 30:15Speaker 5: important to this defense. Now all of a sudden, Dexta
- 30:18Speaker 5: Lawrence wants to get paid. It looks like he's on
- 30:21Speaker 5: the outs. So it's great, you might get a first
- 30:24Speaker 5: round pick and return. We'll see what team is willing
- 30:26Speaker 5: to tango. But I don't like the fact that the
- 30:28Speaker 5: defense that stunk last year to begin with now may
- 30:31Speaker 5: lose one of their best defensive players got to go
- 30:34Speaker 5: and replace him, and there are questions about the health
- 30:39Speaker 5: to the quarterback. I like Jackson Dart. I didn't know
- 30:42Speaker 5: what to expect coming out of Ole Miss. It was
- 30:44Speaker 5: kind of iffy on him. I thought he was fun,
- 30:47Speaker 5: play with some attitude, play with some swagger.
- 30:50Speaker 4: Dude, he's got to do a better job protect his body.
- 30:52Speaker 5: I mean, if you throw your body around like a
- 30:55Speaker 5: rag doll and take those sort of hits that Jackson
- 30:57Speaker 5: Dart is going to take like you did last year,
- 30:59Speaker 5: you're going to be out of the league in three years.
- 31:02Speaker 4: For three years though, well, I mean him and cav Scatabu.
- 31:05Speaker 5: I had Jerry Ferrara on my pod the other day
- 31:07Speaker 5: and I said to him, I said, those guys would
- 31:10Speaker 5: have been perfect on Entourage, like they were perfect, perfect
- 31:13Speaker 5: Entourage cameos and then some. So I think there's an
- 31:16Speaker 5: infusion of energy with the Giants, but I think it's
- 31:19Speaker 5: super crucial, and I know this goes for a lot
- 31:22Speaker 5: of teams that I'm being mister cliche on you. They
- 31:24Speaker 5: need to nail this draft. They need to get one
- 31:27Speaker 5: or two big time players, and the one thing they
- 31:30Speaker 5: cannot do in my opinion, as much as I may
- 31:33Speaker 5: love Jeremiah Love and I went to Notre Dame Stadium
- 31:36Speaker 5: in November, he ran for two hundred and fifty yards
- 31:39Speaker 5: basically on Syracuse. He could have ran for six hundred
- 31:41Speaker 5: yards against Syracuse if they actually let him play.
- 31:43Speaker 1: For four quarters.
- 31:44Speaker 5: He's great, But I am not taking a running back
- 31:47Speaker 5: with a top five pick in the draft. The Giants
- 31:49Speaker 5: been there, done that, can't do it. Too many needs
- 31:52Speaker 5: on defense, killed downs, Sonny styles. I don't care who
- 31:55Speaker 5: it is, do not take a running back at five.
- 31:58Speaker 5: So if you do that and you get the bump
- 32:01Speaker 5: from the head coach, I think the Giants can be
- 32:03Speaker 5: that classic trendy upward mobility team next year. They're not
- 32:07Speaker 5: a legit contender, but I think they can be a
- 32:10Speaker 5: lot more fun and maybe if things go right.
- 32:12Speaker 3: Getting to the postseason, Kramits will tell you I'm all
- 32:15Speaker 3: over the Giants for the next season. Every single future
- 32:18Speaker 3: we gave out. I was all over the Giants even
- 32:21Speaker 3: before the Harball higher. But my thing here is it
- 32:25Speaker 3: kind of seems with when you look at what the
- 32:27Speaker 3: books are saying, that five and a half seems to
- 32:30Speaker 3: be firm for Jeremiah Love, which means I think that
- 32:32Speaker 3: the Titans have clearly moved past probably drafting him and
- 32:36Speaker 3: are looking elsewhere. And if you look at what the
- 32:39Speaker 3: Giants kind of are leaning towards, it looks like Caleb Downs.
- 32:43Speaker 3: Maybe you know, Harbaugh's trying to find his Kyle Hamilton situation.
- 32:46Speaker 2: Maybe for the Giants, but the thing.
- 32:48Speaker 3: Is I think that that's probably a bit of a
- 32:50Speaker 3: reach at that slot. Are you leaning that they're probably
- 32:52Speaker 3: going to go Caleb Downs or do you do you
- 32:54Speaker 3: like someone else in that slot? Just because obviously information
- 32:57Speaker 3: is going to come out over the next couple of days,
- 32:58Speaker 3: we know that fanomen Do is going to be that
- 33:00Speaker 3: first pick. As information comes out, you kind of want
- 33:03Speaker 3: to be the first person to get ahead of it
- 33:05Speaker 3: to get a good market. Are you sold on the
- 33:06Speaker 3: Caleb Downs Kyle Hamilton saying? Or are you okay if
- 33:09Speaker 3: they go with somebody else?
- 33:11Speaker 5: So that's been my thought all along, Kendra. I do
- 33:14Speaker 5: think they're very different players with what Kyle Hamilton brings
- 33:17Speaker 5: to the table and what Caleb Downs everywhere.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Yeah you can't, you can't. Yeah, you can't mimic.
- 33:22Speaker 4: You can't duplicate that.
- 33:23Speaker 5: But there's an argument to be made that Caleb Downs
- 33:26Speaker 5: the best player in the draft and there's a need
- 33:28Speaker 5: for the Giants there, and you know, normally I'm.
- 33:31Speaker 1: On that camp. By the way, I've I've styles.
- 33:36Speaker 5: I'm okay if they end up with Sonny Styles, but
- 33:38Speaker 5: I would take Caleb Downs. If you're if you're asking me, JJ,
- 33:41Speaker 5: you're the GM of the Giants. You're sitting there at five,
- 33:45Speaker 5: both guys are on the board for you. What's this selection?
- 33:48Speaker 5: It's Caleb Downs cause you know what, I know. I
- 33:50Speaker 5: could put them in my secondary. I know Harbaugh and
- 33:53Speaker 5: that staff is going to get the most out of them,
- 33:55Speaker 5: and I go to work.
- 33:56Speaker 1: I love those guys that I look at and say,
- 33:58Speaker 1: there's the here's a good chance that he's gonna be great.
- 34:03Speaker 1: There's a zero percent chance Caleb Downs is a bad player.
- 34:06Speaker 4: I totally agree, totally.
- 34:08Speaker 5: Now, to be fair on this, would we all agree
- 34:11Speaker 5: that we think Jeremiah Love is gonna have an outstanding
- 34:13Speaker 5: NFL career.
- 34:14Speaker 3: I literally in our show the other day said that
- 34:16Speaker 3: he's one of those players.
- 34:17Speaker 2: I don't care where he goes.
- 34:19Speaker 3: He could go to the freaking Cleveland Browns, and I
- 34:21Speaker 3: have faith in his ability.
- 34:22Speaker 5: I think he's really good. I'm in agreement. I just
- 34:25Speaker 5: think the Giants can't go down that road again. They
- 34:27Speaker 5: did it Brandon a few years ago.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Apart, they're in a better spot now than they were
- 34:30Speaker 1: when they took Sakuwon Barkley. But I would tend to
- 34:33Speaker 1: agree with that you can be a great running back
- 34:37Speaker 1: for a bad team. Christian McCaffrey. It's not like he
- 34:39Speaker 1: burst onto the scene for San Francisco. He was already
- 34:42Speaker 1: great in Carolina. It didn't fucking matter because he was
- 34:46Speaker 1: on a bad team. But I think this Giants team
- 34:49Speaker 1: is with harball and if darts Ables stay healthy, they
- 34:53Speaker 1: and Malik neighbors, let's not forget about him making his
- 34:56Speaker 1: way back. And well that just for my dynasty purposes
- 35:02Speaker 1: of really hoping they don't take Jeremiah Love. But I
- 35:05Speaker 1: don't think it would be a disaster if they took Love,
- 35:08Speaker 1: I guess, is what I'm trying to say. But I
- 35:09Speaker 1: could agree I wouldn't do that if I were them.
- 35:11Speaker 5: The problem is they have so many needs on defense,
- 35:14Speaker 5: That's what And I think that's the strength of the
- 35:16Speaker 5: top of the draft outside of Mendoza precisely. That to
- 35:19Speaker 5: me is where you can go and get yourself a
- 35:21Speaker 5: cornerstone on that side of the ball.
- 35:22Speaker 4: So that's what I would do.
- 35:23Speaker 3: So would you say, and you know, ten out of
- 35:26Speaker 3: ten scenarios, you're the draft for need, not for the
- 35:29Speaker 3: best player on the board type.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Nah.
- 35:31Speaker 5: I think I'm best player on the board type more
- 35:34Speaker 5: often than not. But I would make the argument Caleb
- 35:36Speaker 5: Downs for the Giants would be the best player on
- 35:38Speaker 5: the board.
- 35:41Speaker 2: That's super fair. That's fair. Are your Giants over Jets?
- 35:45Speaker 4: Neither?
- 35:45Speaker 5: Actually now I talk about both fairly, honestly, passionately.
- 35:52Speaker 4: But as you can see behind me is Snoopy.
- 35:54Speaker 1: I see Dolphins at.
- 35:56Speaker 5: Snoopy and I got Dann Marinosh.
- 35:59Speaker 2: Your Dolphins tickets.
- 36:01Speaker 4: Key talk to me, John hold On, Brandon, you're a
- 36:04Speaker 4: Dolphin guy.
- 36:05Speaker 1: I am long time suffering.
- 36:07Speaker 5: I love that I got to give you guys the
- 36:11Speaker 5: lay of the land here. For me, it is a
- 36:13Speaker 5: lot of fun to be a New York Dolphin fan
- 36:16Speaker 5: from this standpoint. So when I'm walking around town, obviously
- 36:20Speaker 5: I'm a big Yankee guy and I'm a big nick guy.
- 36:23Speaker 4: You have that collectively with the city.
- 36:26Speaker 5: But when the Dolphins were going really good, I know
- 36:29Speaker 5: that sounds crazy, but actually was the case twenty twenty
- 36:31Speaker 5: two and especially in twenty twenty three during the regular season,
- 36:34Speaker 5: before they would play elite teams, before they would go
- 36:37Speaker 5: and get themselves in you know, big spots.
- 36:39Speaker 4: And full flat on their way they changed before. It's
- 36:42Speaker 4: freezing cold. When I'm walking around.
- 36:43Speaker 5: New York, like with the hood on miserable, hating everything.
- 36:47Speaker 5: When I have them doing well, it's like my baby.
- 36:50Speaker 5: You know, I can I can walk around and my
- 36:53Speaker 5: Dolphin gear. It's fun. And like I see, like everybody
- 36:56Speaker 5: like miserable and I got my team like it's my baby.
- 36:58Speaker 4: So like I said this to be all the time.
- 37:00Speaker 5: If I gotta have one of my teams win a championship,
- 37:02Speaker 5: everyone's like, well, who you want to be the next?
- 37:04Speaker 5: Now the Knicks are playing, So I know that's a
- 37:06Speaker 5: tough answer, but a Dolphin super Bowl would be more
- 37:09Speaker 5: than me than any of the teams I root for.
- 37:11Speaker 3: Without questions, Okay, are you Rangers or Islanders? And if
- 37:14Speaker 3: you had to say right now.
- 37:16Speaker 5: As Kendrick confession, I hate to be fraudulent with hockey.
- 37:20Speaker 5: Here's why I don't. I'm casual Rangers. I'm casual Rangers.
- 37:26Speaker 5: But like for me to put hockey in the same
- 37:30Speaker 5: like breath as Yankees, Knicks, Dolphins and I went to cues,
- 37:35Speaker 5: So like that to me is my other team like
- 37:38Speaker 5: more basketball and football. I would say there's probably more
- 37:42Speaker 5: passion for me coming out of Syracuse basketball because like
- 37:45Speaker 5: when I was.
- 37:46Speaker 4: There, they were really really good. They were really really
- 37:49Speaker 4: good in a fixture in the tournament for a long time.
- 37:51Speaker 5: I know it's been a while five years. Don't get
- 37:54Speaker 5: me started. Hopefully Jerry mcnamata changes that next year. But
- 38:00Speaker 5: Jual Rangers. But I can't put them in the same sentence.
- 38:02Speaker 4: It's not fair. I don't want to do that, you know.
- 38:04Speaker 1: I hate to bring it to you, John. I believe
- 38:07Speaker 1: that both of us will be dead and in the
- 38:09Speaker 1: ground by the time the Dolphins win a Super Bowl.
- 38:11Speaker 4: You know what.
- 38:12Speaker 1: You observe that.
- 38:13Speaker 5: I've accepted that too. But let's let's set the bar
- 38:16Speaker 5: super well. It's like me on the golf course. You
- 38:18Speaker 5: set the bar super low, and then you go and
- 38:20Speaker 5: exceed expectations.
- 38:23Speaker 4: How about a playoff win before in the ground? How
- 38:26Speaker 4: about that way before in the crowd I was.
- 38:30Speaker 1: I was at the last playoff win for the Miami Dolphins.
- 38:33Speaker 5: I was in Jack miss the field goal, Lamar Smith,
- 38:37Speaker 5: J Tayler, h James McKnight, around Manning.
- 38:42Speaker 1: The Dolphins beat Peyton Manning with Jay Fiedler, my favorite
- 38:45Speaker 1: Jewish quarterback, and then.
- 38:47Speaker 5: I proceeded to get absolutely steamrolled by the Raiders.
- 38:51Speaker 4: I think they lost like thirty one nothing.
- 38:53Speaker 5: Uh, Kendra, you know the dogpharss like, no, no, no, I'm
- 38:57Speaker 5: gonna give Kendra. I know she's a Jags fan. Sixty
- 39:01Speaker 5: two seven. Dan Marino's last game is quite possibly the
- 39:06Speaker 5: worst football game I've ever watched in my life and
- 39:08Speaker 5: the most depressing football game I've ever watched in my life.
- 39:11Speaker 4: So there's that.
- 39:13Speaker 3: I've seen some pretty bad Jags games, especially in person.
- 39:17Speaker 3: I was like a fetus when Dan Reno was playing,
- 39:19Speaker 3: So that's okay.
- 39:20Speaker 5: I mean I was a little I was a little kid,
- 39:22Speaker 5: so it's all fair game. Did you you're up in
- 39:24Speaker 5: Boston and you're a Jags fan. Did you go to
- 39:26Speaker 5: that AFC Championship game or were you not living there.
- 39:29Speaker 2: At that point in twenty seventeen.
- 39:30Speaker 3: No, I didn't live here yet, but I moved up
- 39:33Speaker 3: the year after, and I have been at every single
- 39:36Speaker 3: matchup since. And I think the worst loss I witnessed
- 39:41Speaker 3: in person was probably two years ago in Buffalo.
- 39:45Speaker 2: They got Going to.
- 39:46Speaker 4: Buffalo is miserable. I hate it. I hate it.
- 39:49Speaker 2: I'll never go back.
- 39:50Speaker 3: I got a tatoo in a van at a tailgate,
- 39:54Speaker 3: I drank a beer out of a prosthetic leg.
- 39:56Speaker 4: And I brought through a table. Did you do that too.
- 40:00Speaker 3: I jumped through so many tables and collors. That was
- 40:02Speaker 3: not a novelty.
- 40:03Speaker 5: So wow, your brave soul. So that's not just a
- 40:11Speaker 5: bills thing. That's like a big sec tailgate thing. Yeah,
- 40:14Speaker 5: oh yeah, see, you guys are brave.
- 40:17Speaker 4: I now you get a couple of cocktails in me.
- 40:20Speaker 4: Who knows? You never know?
- 40:21Speaker 2: I don't know our producer.
- 40:23Speaker 3: I have videos of me jumping through a table that
- 40:25Speaker 3: I will send our producer.
- 40:26Speaker 4: And how'd you feel afterwards?
- 40:29Speaker 2: Awesome? I'm crazy though, like I yeah, I don't really
- 40:34Speaker 2: have fears.
- 40:34Speaker 3: We actually were talking the other day on our show,
- 40:37Speaker 3: which like reality TV show, you think you would be
- 40:39Speaker 3: the most successful at and group group consensus.
- 40:43Speaker 2: I think fear factor would be for sure.
- 40:46Speaker 5: I used to think Jeopardy and now I come back
- 40:48Speaker 5: every now and again and put it on, and I've
- 40:51Speaker 5: gotten dumber and dumber.
- 40:52Speaker 4: I mean I got the metch yesterday. That's all you
- 40:54Speaker 4: need to.
- 40:54Speaker 1: Know, right, I mean, you know you're getting old and
- 40:57Speaker 1: stupid when you start getting better at Wheel of Fortune
- 40:59Speaker 1: right now after Oh.
- 41:00Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly. That used to be the game. Oh this
- 41:03Speaker 5: is easy Now it's like, yeah, I need I need
- 41:05Speaker 5: to pick me up.
- 41:05Speaker 3: I know, I know, we want to get back to football.
- 41:08Speaker 3: But who do you think is more likely to win
- 41:10Speaker 3: a championship? First, the Yankees or the.
- 41:13Speaker 5: Next That's a great, great question, great great question. I'm
- 41:19Speaker 5: gonna say the Yankees because they have pitching that could
- 41:24Speaker 5: absolutely propel them, and that's always a great equal lives.
- 41:26Speaker 4: They're in a short series.
- 41:28Speaker 5: The prom in the NBA, the better team, more often
- 41:31Speaker 5: than not, is gonna win a seven game series.
- 41:34Speaker 4: The history of the.
- 41:35Speaker 5: League tells us exactly that. The Dodgers, I use that
- 41:39Speaker 5: as an example, they'd be favored over the Yankees. They
- 41:42Speaker 5: easily could have lost, not could have They should have
- 41:44Speaker 5: lost the World Series last year at Toronto Blue Jays, right, they.
- 41:47Speaker 4: Should have lost the World Series. So Judge has big postseason.
- 41:52Speaker 5: Paul Freed, Schlittler, Rodan, I would say the Yankees. Now
- 41:56Speaker 5: fits the Yankees win the World Series. Nicks get to
- 41:58Speaker 5: the NBA Finals. Might answered that a little differently.
- 42:03Speaker 4: But that was not the questions.
- 42:06Speaker 5: Nick super You know what, Kendra, I love that because
- 42:11Speaker 5: think about it, he grew up there, he probably got
- 42:14Speaker 5: drafted by the Yankees.
- 42:15Speaker 4: He had to hear every kid.
- 42:17Speaker 5: In his neighborhood talk all the shit in the world,
- 42:20Speaker 5: and he got to send a Red Sox packing. So
- 42:23Speaker 5: when he came home for Thanksgiving and Christmas, just just
- 42:26Speaker 5: imagine the walk exactly. That's what I'd be doing. I'd
- 42:29Speaker 5: be like, Hey, did you see that game October? All strikeouts?
- 42:33Speaker 5: How'd your boys do? How'd your boys?
- 42:34Speaker 1: You gotta talk to shit, you know, John. Let's put
- 42:38Speaker 1: our money where our mouths are. Our DraftKings plant the
- 42:44Speaker 1: flag flat it.
- 42:46Speaker 3: Shut up.
- 42:46Speaker 4: I'm trying to plant my flag here.
- 42:48Speaker 1: Okay, you're really planning your flag in that deck. New
- 42:51Speaker 1: York Knicks related that for the postseason presented by DraftKings,
- 42:56Speaker 1: the crown is Yours could be Nix, Hawks could be
- 42:59Speaker 1: a Knicks few, you're anything in that realm. Kendro, we
- 43:03Speaker 1: will start with.
- 43:04Speaker 3: You, I think, since we have pretty much the same bet,
- 43:08Speaker 3: you have to put your money where your mouth is
- 43:09Speaker 3: for the Knicks to make the Eastern Conference and say
- 43:13Speaker 3: it with your chest.
- 43:13Speaker 2: That they're gonna beat the C's.
- 43:15Speaker 3: But for me personally, I'm gonna say this series over
- 43:18Speaker 3: five and a half game is minus one sixty.
- 43:20Speaker 2: That's where I'm gonna plant my flag.
- 43:23Speaker 4: I like it.
- 43:23Speaker 5: I think the next will win this series and six.
- 43:25Speaker 5: But I feel like that's a boring bet. I gotta
- 43:28Speaker 5: come along and have some fun. I'm taking a next
- 43:31Speaker 5: to win the conference because I've said all along I
- 43:33Speaker 5: think they're going to the NBA Finals this year, and
- 43:36Speaker 5: the take I've had thro route is that they'll get to.
- 43:38Speaker 4: The NBA Finals and it will be an.
- 43:40Speaker 2: Ugly pay Can I just bully you into doing that?
- 43:43Speaker 2: I'm so sorry.
- 43:43Speaker 4: No no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 43:45Speaker 5: Listen, it's a bet I've already made, so no bullying,
- 43:49Speaker 5: no bullying necessary. That said, I'm sticking to it. NIXT
- 43:54Speaker 5: to win the Eastern Conference. That's what we're planning.
- 43:56Speaker 1: The flag plus four point fifty on the Knicks to
- 43:59Speaker 1: come out of the Eastern Conference.
- 44:02Speaker 2: I when you originally made.
- 44:05Speaker 4: It, I got a couple of weeks ago.
- 44:07Speaker 5: It's a little bit better in that, a little bit
- 44:08Speaker 5: better when we're going to a rough patch. I want
- 44:10Speaker 5: to say it was like five and change. Yeah, it's
- 44:14Speaker 5: probably not the highest of the market, but like you know,
- 44:16Speaker 5: it's they've kind of been in that same like ballpark
- 44:20Speaker 5: basically all year.
- 44:21Speaker 4: They were a little higher at.
- 44:22Speaker 5: The beginning of the year, then they kind of dipped
- 44:24Speaker 5: with Detroit sort of rise, and then the numbers really
- 44:27Speaker 5: got thrown out of whack rack where I can't even
- 44:29Speaker 5: say that with a straight face. Uh, the minute Jason
- 44:32Speaker 5: Tatum came back and really looked like Jason Tatum.
- 44:35Speaker 1: Yeah, the preseason NBA numbers can be tough because so
- 44:38Speaker 1: much can change and you don't only get caught with
- 44:42Speaker 1: a Oh, Brunson's done for the year. I'm sitting on
- 44:44Speaker 1: this and it was no.
- 44:46Speaker 4: And it was no value at the beginning. That's why
- 44:48Speaker 4: it was a hard pass for me.
- 44:49Speaker 1: At that plenty plenty of hype for them. I'm actually
- 44:52Speaker 1: gonna look the way of the Hawks is that I'm
- 44:54Speaker 1: I think I'm setting the rules here. So but I'm
- 44:56Speaker 1: gonna ask you guys, if that's a lowed I'm gonna
- 44:58Speaker 1: go with the Hawks bet on that loss series, Why
- 45:01Speaker 1: not good with that? I'm gonna go with It's our show.
- 45:06Speaker 1: Kendro shout out to Stuck. You hope he's enjoying vacation
- 45:09Speaker 1: as well. Nikil Alexander Walker series leader in threes at
- 45:13Speaker 1: minus one oh five. The Knicks struggle to defend the
- 45:16Speaker 1: three point line. That's one of the big advantages Atlanta
- 45:18Speaker 1: has in the series. I did bet the Hawks at
- 45:22Speaker 1: plus two fifty five to win. I can't say with
- 45:25Speaker 1: my whole chest that it's my favorite bet. I just
- 45:28Speaker 1: think it's I just think it's miss priced. This is
- 45:31Speaker 1: one that I expect to absolutely win. The most predictable
- 45:35Speaker 1: thing in this series is that Nikkeil Alexander Walker is
- 45:39Speaker 1: going to jack up some threes. Most attempted threes per
- 45:42Speaker 1: game of anybody that's in this series. He's attempted eight
- 45:45Speaker 1: per game, and that number has ticked up every single
- 45:48Speaker 1: time he's played the Knicks. He's gonna above his season
- 45:51Speaker 1: average on three point attempts. So I think him knocking
- 45:55Speaker 1: down the most threes in this series at minus one
- 45:58Speaker 1: ozho five best bet.
- 45:59Speaker 4: I like that bet.
- 46:01Speaker 5: And he torched the Knicks and they played a couple
- 46:02Speaker 5: of weeks ago on a Monday night. That's a good bet,
- 46:05Speaker 5: my dad, I can tell you on that, because if
- 46:07Speaker 5: I tell you on it, Nick still win the series.
- 46:09Speaker 4: Everybody wins.
- 46:09Speaker 1: So yeah, exactly, I think they're happy to say, go ahead,
- 46:12Speaker 1: you do your thing. We're just not gonna let Jalen Johnson,
- 46:16Speaker 1: C J McCollum kill us, you know, Ni Kiel, Alexander Walker,
- 46:20Speaker 1: Jack's up fifteen three is a game, and then the
- 46:22Speaker 1: Hawks still lose the series and I have that phenomenal
- 46:25Speaker 1: CLV bet.
- 46:27Speaker 2: Maybe it's a good look for your other Hawks future.
- 46:30Speaker 1: I think I'm all am. I all in on the
- 46:32Speaker 1: city of Atlanta. I was gonna say, you're.
- 46:35Speaker 4: Going to get real estate? There is that, like, uh,
- 46:37Speaker 4: where we're looking to go?
- 46:38Speaker 1: Because I guess you just take a Braves future for
- 46:42Speaker 1: the NL East while I'm at.
- 46:43Speaker 4: It, just fill you know, I chicken down. Really, I'm
- 46:47Speaker 4: really mad. I didn't bet that because.
- 46:49Speaker 5: I like them all winter and then I saw they
- 46:52Speaker 5: starting pitching and I was like, oh, this is going
- 46:54Speaker 5: to be a problem. And now I've watched the Mets
- 46:56Speaker 5: in the Phillies play and the Braves offense looks really good.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Yeah, but what.
- 47:02Speaker 4: Could have been?
- 47:03Speaker 1: I took their season under on wins, so you don't
- 47:07Speaker 1: feel good about that. It's going to go up in Flames.
- 47:09Speaker 4: I took.
- 47:10Speaker 5: I took Cleveland like I do every year, and it's
- 47:12Speaker 5: already Cleveland is I just won't learn.
- 47:15Speaker 4: I won't learn.
- 47:16Speaker 1: You fade, you fade the the al Central in the playoffs,
- 47:19Speaker 1: John correct, But you know what it is.
- 47:21Speaker 5: I like Kansas City this year. I like Kansas City.
- 47:25Speaker 5: I was like, Detroit's going to be good again. Cleveland's
- 47:28Speaker 5: got to have a year where a stink. Now Cleveland
- 47:31Speaker 5: never stinks. They're always like above average.
