Left-Handed Defensemen Flood Rangers Draft
The Rangers just drafted nine new players for 2026, five of whom are left-handed shooting defensemen — apparently the draft gods had a thing for lefties. Among them, 18-year-old Ben MacBeath, selected 64th overall in the second round, impressed with 6 goals and 44 assists last season with the Calgary Hitmen. MacBeath, who’s all about skating and playing both sides of the puck, is headed to the University of Denver to soak up elite coaching and compete in a winning culture — and he’s ready to bring his A-game every day.
