- 0:00Speaker 1: By from Midtown Manhattan.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Here comes the Mark Simone Show on seven to ten.
- 0:06Speaker 3: Wr Hey, it's Monday. We'll give you the inside story
- 0:12Speaker 3: and a lot of stuff. We'll give you all the
- 0:14Speaker 3: latest Iran, Crazy Mom, Dani, Tom Holman, Cash Betel, the
- 0:19Speaker 3: Pope and the White House correspondents dinner coming up this week,
- 0:23Speaker 3: and a whole lot more to get to. So Iran,
- 0:27Speaker 3: Let's just explain what's really going on here? Why the
- 0:31Speaker 3: mixed signals. The strait is open, the strait is closed,
- 0:36Speaker 3: the war is over, the war is on. They agree
- 0:39Speaker 3: to all our demands, they don't agree to all. Here's
- 0:41Speaker 3: what's really going on. There are two factions now. Iran
- 0:45Speaker 3: is in the middle of a bit of a civil war.
- 0:46Speaker 3: There are two factions. There's the political leadership that we
- 0:50Speaker 3: are negotiating with, and those negotiations will continue today Pakistan Islamabad.
- 0:57Speaker 3: The American team led by Wikoff and Jared back on
- 1:01Speaker 3: a plane to Pakistan as we speak. They'll be negotiating there.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Here's the problem. We're negotiating with the leadership, the political leadership. However,
- 1:11Speaker 3: there's another faction, and that's the Republican Guard, the real
- 1:16Speaker 3: hardliner military. There's a regular army, and there's a Republican
- 1:20Speaker 3: Guard that's the vicious hardliner killer troops. They are in
- 1:27Speaker 3: control of the weapons, they're in control of that stuff.
- 1:30Speaker 3: So they're still fighting while the political leadership is trying
- 1:33Speaker 3: to settle. Now this will have to get worked out
- 1:36Speaker 3: among the two factions in Iran. Who's really who or
- 1:41Speaker 3: we will have to work with the leadership of Iran
- 1:43Speaker 3: and help kill off that Republican Guard. The straight the
- 1:47Speaker 3: blockade was very, very successful. Not a single ship got
- 1:52Speaker 3: through that blockade. One Iranian ship tried to get through
- 1:55Speaker 3: that blockade. We fired on it immediately. The first few
- 1:59Speaker 3: shots completely able to took out the engine. We then
- 2:02Speaker 3: seized the ship and took it. Ran going nuts saying
- 2:06Speaker 3: it's international piracy or whatever they were claiming, armed piracy
- 2:11Speaker 3: they claim. But the blockade is absolutely holding. What Iran
- 2:17Speaker 3: has left, We've taken out almost all of their military,
- 2:19Speaker 3: have taken out their navy, We've taken out their air force,
- 2:22Speaker 3: We've taken out most of their offense. All they have
- 2:25Speaker 3: left to screw up the straits with or what are
- 2:27Speaker 3: called mosquito the mosquito fleet. They're called mosquito boats. They're
- 2:31Speaker 3: little tiny boats. Loaded with explosives along the coast. They'll
- 2:36Speaker 3: come out of a cave or they'll come out of
- 2:38Speaker 3: a hiding place. And these little mosquito boats filled with
- 2:42Speaker 3: explosives are quite annoying. They can't really do a lot
- 2:45Speaker 3: of damage, but they can go hit a ship, blow
- 2:49Speaker 3: a hole in it, or not really sink a ship.
- 2:51Speaker 3: But the little mosquito boats are annoying enough to it's
- 2:55Speaker 3: not so much scaring the tankers, it's scaring the insurance company.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Right now, if nothing goes through the strait of Hermose,
- 3:03Speaker 3: it's because of the insurance company, which is mostly Lloyd's
- 3:06Speaker 3: of London. The tankers can't move unless they have insurance.
- 3:10Speaker 3: You don't want to lose the tanker. It's millions and
- 3:12Speaker 3: millions and millions of dollars. So if Lloyd's won't okay
- 3:17Speaker 3: the insurance, they don't move. And right now, with these
- 3:20Speaker 3: little annoying mosquito boats, Lloyd's is holding up assurance on
- 3:24Speaker 3: most of those tankers. So that's the only reason it's stopped.
- 3:26Speaker 3: If we have to close the strait again, totally blockade
- 3:29Speaker 3: it and stop it, it's actually pretty good for us.
- 3:34Speaker 3: It's very bad for Europe. We don't need the Straight
- 3:37Speaker 3: of hornor moves. We don't take any oil from there.
- 3:39Speaker 3: We don't need that oil, we don't use it. But
- 3:42Speaker 3: Europe depends on it, and China heavily depends on that oil.
- 3:46Speaker 3: So as long as the strait is closed, we're doing well.
- 3:49Speaker 3: China is in a problem. They're running out of oil
- 3:53Speaker 3: and Europe's in a serious situation because they're heavily dependent
- 3:56Speaker 3: on that oil. In fact, with the blockade that we've
- 4:00Speaker 3: had and the problems in the Straight the last few weeks,
- 4:03Speaker 3: Europe is just about out of jet fuel. They got
- 4:06Speaker 3: like five weeks of jet fuel left, which might stop
- 4:09Speaker 3: air travel over there, so that kind of stuff. Now
- 4:13Speaker 3: we have more oil. We're the biggest oil supplier on Earth.
- 4:17Speaker 3: We make more oil every day than Saudi Arabia than anybody,
- 4:21Speaker 3: so we can supply the whole world. They don't want
- 4:24Speaker 3: to do it, but they would have to start buying
- 4:26Speaker 3: us oil. Europe could do that, China could do that.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Now here's the other problem. Because of all this, the
- 4:32Speaker 3: European Union is in huge financial crisis at the moment.
- 4:37Speaker 3: They need about forty or fifty billion to keep going.
- 4:40Speaker 3: They're on the verge of collapse, they're going to probably
- 4:43Speaker 3: come to the US and beg for money, beg for
- 4:46Speaker 3: a quick loan the European Union to keep going. We'll
- 4:51Speaker 3: probably give it to them, because if we don't give
- 4:53Speaker 3: it to them, they'll go to China and try to
- 4:54Speaker 3: get the money from them. That kind of alliance we
- 4:58Speaker 3: don't really need, so we'll probably end up having to
- 5:00Speaker 3: finance them through this crisis. So once this is settled again,
- 5:05Speaker 3: the political leadership of Iran, that's who we're negotiating with,
- 5:07Speaker 3: they'll have to somehow with our help, get the Republican
- 5:12Speaker 3: Guard in line. They're the only ones keeping this war going.
- 5:16Speaker 3: So we'll see how that goes, and then if it's settled,
- 5:21Speaker 3: if it ends, all that's left is collecting the nuclear material.
- 5:26Speaker 3: It's stored in a number of places.
- 5:28Speaker 4: Now.
- 5:29Speaker 3: One of the problems a lot of that nuclear material
- 5:31Speaker 3: is in those nuclear reactors that we bombed and blew
- 5:34Speaker 3: up months ago. And it's basically that's why Trump calls
- 5:39Speaker 3: it nuclear dust. It's basically under that rubble, it's nuclear dust.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Under the rubble, it can be collected. It's a little difficult.
- 5:47Speaker 3: It's like an engineering feat to go through that rubble
- 5:50Speaker 3: and get the nuclear stuff out of there, and then
- 5:52Speaker 3: there's a couple other places we believe they're storing some
- 5:54Speaker 3: nuclear material. We'd have to go pick that up. And
- 5:58Speaker 3: by the way, we've done that before. We're very good
- 6:01Speaker 3: at it. People forget we did this in Libya when
- 6:05Speaker 3: we beat Kadathi, in fact that at that point it
- 6:08Speaker 3: could be similar to this. At a certain point Kadafi
- 6:11Speaker 3: gave up, surrendered and agreed to hand over all his
- 6:16Speaker 3: nuclear material. We had to go collect it, and it's
- 6:19Speaker 3: the same thing as the Iran nuclear material. But we
- 6:22Speaker 3: were able to do it. We got teams that know
- 6:23Speaker 3: exactly how to collect it, gather it safely, extract it,
- 6:28Speaker 3: and then we have a technology to destroy it. So
- 6:31Speaker 3: we did that in Libya, we'll do it here. By
- 6:35Speaker 3: the way, once this is all over, what we're going
- 6:38Speaker 3: to do about the Straits of Horror Moose is we're
- 6:41Speaker 3: going to build pipelines that should have been built a
- 6:43Speaker 3: long time ago. That'll be all kinds of pipelines built
- 6:47Speaker 3: all over the place near there, so we never ever
- 6:50Speaker 3: again have to depend on the Strait of or Moose.
- 6:52Speaker 3: It's much easier to move the oil through pipelines. We
- 6:54Speaker 3: just never built them. But the Saudis, most of the
- 6:57Speaker 3: countries over there have agreed to put in these pipelines,
- 7:00Speaker 3: so oil will move that way. There'll be multiple pipelines,
- 7:03Speaker 3: will never again have to depend on the straight of
- 7:06Speaker 3: horn Moose. Nobody will ever be able to threaten closing
- 7:08Speaker 3: it ever again. So we'll get back to Iran. Mom Donnie,
- 7:14Speaker 3: Crazy Mom Donnie, and crazy NBC boy, they were really
- 7:18Speaker 3: trying to help out Mom Donnie. They gave him a huge,
- 7:21Speaker 3: huge spot on Meet the Press. They made him the
- 7:25Speaker 3: star of the show yesterday. I know I'm the only
- 7:27Speaker 3: one that still watches Meet the Press. I don't know
- 7:29Speaker 3: why it used to be a big, important show, very
- 7:32Speaker 3: important show. It's not. It's got a tiny but boy,
- 7:36Speaker 3: were they buttering up, Mom Donnie. You know, whenever a
- 7:39Speaker 3: President Trump or any Republican is on Meet the Press,
- 7:41Speaker 3: they ask him a question and they pound away at
- 7:43Speaker 3: him every time he tries to answer thousand follow ups.
- 7:46Speaker 3: They can fact check them on every sentence. Every they go,
- 7:50Speaker 3: Mom Donnie, whatever he said, they just bowed and just
- 7:55Speaker 3: grew reverential towards this guy. It was pretty awful watching
- 7:59Speaker 3: Meet the Press. It's just awful the way they they's
- 8:03Speaker 3: just kissed his ring. Even when he said things. They
- 8:05Speaker 3: got him on the billionaires, and he's going after all
- 8:09Speaker 3: these billionaires. He thinks it's a good target. You know,
- 8:11Speaker 3: you gotta remember one thing about Mamdani kind of socialism.
- 8:14Speaker 3: It's just symbolic. It's just talk. It can't be reality.
- 8:17Speaker 3: It'll free grocery stores. It sounds great. There's no way
- 8:20Speaker 3: on earth to actually execute that. It can't be done.
- 8:23Speaker 3: You will never see a Mamdani grocery store as long
- 8:26Speaker 3: as you live. It'll never happen. I know he's got
- 8:30Speaker 3: a location in Harlem. It's thirty million to build it.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Every major grocery store person, there's grocery store chains all
- 8:38Speaker 3: over they'll tell you it's normally one million, two million
- 8:42Speaker 3: to open a grocery store. He's talking thirty they're also
- 8:45Speaker 3: talking twenty twenty eight, twenty twenty nine. You'll never see
- 8:47Speaker 3: the grocery store. There'll never be one. So he gets
- 8:50Speaker 3: crazy with the symbolism with the billionaires. It sounds awful.
- 8:53Speaker 3: The billionaires. He even goes on meet the press and said,
- 8:56Speaker 3: listen to this.
- 8:57Speaker 5: I don't think that we should have billionaires. Frankly, it
- 9:00Speaker 5: is so much money in a moment of such inequality,
- 9:04Speaker 5: and ultimately, what we need more of is equality across
- 9:07Speaker 5: our city, and across our state and across our country.
- 9:10Speaker 5: And I look forward to work with everyone, including billionaires,
- 9:13Speaker 5: to make a city that is fairer for all of them.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Well, let's repeat that again.
- 9:17Speaker 6: I don't think that.
- 9:18Speaker 5: We should have billionaires because, frankly, it is so much
- 9:21Speaker 5: money in a moment.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Well yeah, but it's not like it's not like somebody said, here,
- 9:30Speaker 3: here's five dollars for you, here's ten dollars for you,
- 9:33Speaker 3: here's a billion for you. That's inequality. These billionaires went
- 9:38Speaker 3: out and earned it on their own. They not only
- 9:40Speaker 3: went out and through sheer hard work and diligence and brains,
- 9:44Speaker 3: made a billion dollars. In the process, they created hundreds
- 9:48Speaker 3: of thousands of jobs. They usually, in fact, the only
- 9:51Speaker 3: way you really can become a billionaire provide a great service.
- 9:54Speaker 3: I mean, look at Jeff Bezos. Can imagine if this
- 9:58Speaker 3: guy was not allowed to do what he did, you'd
- 10:00Speaker 3: have no Amazon. How would you get anything. Let's say
- 10:05Speaker 3: all of a sudden, you wanted something, you'd have to
- 10:09Speaker 3: get dressed, go out. Let's say I wanted a book.
- 10:12Speaker 3: You know, I can go to Amazon, download it right
- 10:14Speaker 3: on my kindle. Half a second later, there's the book.
- 10:16Speaker 3: I can read it right now. You know that you
- 10:18Speaker 3: used to have to leave your house. You had to
- 10:20Speaker 3: walk to Barnes and Noble. Like if you were here,
- 10:23Speaker 3: you'd have to go to sixty seventh in Broadway. That's
- 10:27Speaker 3: like twelve to fifteen blocks. I have to walk over there.
- 10:30Speaker 3: You have to look for the book. You'd have to
- 10:32Speaker 3: wait in line to pay for it. They'd put it
- 10:34Speaker 3: in a bag. You'd have to carry the book home.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Can you imagine your kids today. You don't know how
- 10:39Speaker 3: tough we you had it. You had to go buy
- 10:41Speaker 3: the book, you had to carry it home. Let's say
- 10:44Speaker 3: you went somewhere, you were out to work, you were
- 10:46Speaker 3: on the train, you wanted to read your book. I
- 10:48Speaker 3: forgot to bring it. It's in the kindle. I got
- 10:50Speaker 3: the book wherever I am. So these guys provide tremendous services.
- 10:57Speaker 3: And now some of these Henchwind guys, we don't know
- 10:59Speaker 3: what the hell they ask do for us. But I'm
- 11:01Speaker 3: talking about what if there was no Steve Jobs, we
- 11:06Speaker 3: wouln't even have this phone. You'd be talking on a
- 11:08Speaker 3: Palm trio, you'd be talking on a BlackBerry. So you
- 11:12Speaker 3: need these billionaires. And again it's talk about real discrimination.
- 11:18Speaker 5: I don't think that we should have billionaires because frankly,
- 11:21Speaker 5: it is.
- 11:22Speaker 3: So much money in a moment of not only that,
- 11:24Speaker 3: you wouldn't have democrats in office if the billionaires fund them.
- 11:27Speaker 3: That's where they get all their money from. These billionaires. Now,
- 11:30Speaker 3: there's a guy named Ken Griffin who's a multi billionaire
- 11:35Speaker 3: and he loves real estate, buys a lot of real
- 11:38Speaker 3: estate over there on Central Park South. He bought an
- 11:42Speaker 3: apartment I think was the most expensive apartment at the time.
- 11:45Speaker 3: He spent two hundred and twenty million for this apartment,
- 11:49Speaker 3: two hundred and twenty million. They doesn't even live there.
- 11:55Speaker 3: He lives in Florida. So you're saying, oh, that's his
- 11:57Speaker 3: New York apartment. Well, actually it's his extra New York
- 12:01Speaker 3: apartment because he also lives at seven forty Park Avenue.
- 12:04Speaker 3: That's the most prestigious building in the world. Some of
- 12:08Speaker 3: the biggest names on earth have been turned down from
- 12:10Speaker 3: living in that building. Toughest co op board. And in
- 12:12Speaker 3: that building he has two apartments cut together. That's about
- 12:16Speaker 3: fifty sixty million. I guess that's the real apartment for
- 12:19Speaker 3: New York. But then he has this one over here,
- 12:22Speaker 3: and then the one in Florida is another two hundred million.
- 12:24Speaker 3: It sounds insane, insane. This is like a billion dollars
- 12:27Speaker 3: in real estate. Sounds crazy. But that guy loves real estate,
- 12:31Speaker 3: not a feeling. Deep down. He's buying it as an investment.
- 12:34Speaker 3: He knows it's going to go way up in value.
- 12:37Speaker 3: So a lot of people think, Mom, Donnie, it's one
- 12:40Speaker 3: thing to rail against these billionaires. But for some reason,
- 12:42Speaker 3: he's targeting this guy personally, this Ken Griffin, and he
- 12:45Speaker 3: made one of his viral videos that's all over the
- 12:47Speaker 3: place in front of Ken Griffin's building on Central Park
- 12:52Speaker 3: South pointing at it.
- 12:53Speaker 7: I'm thrilled to announce who secured a peda tear tax,
- 12:56Speaker 7: the first in New York's history. This is an annual
- 12:58Speaker 7: fee on luxury properties more than five million dollars whose
- 13:02Speaker 7: owners do not live full time in the city, like
- 13:04Speaker 7: for this penthouse, the catch one CEO Ken Griffin bought
- 13:08Speaker 7: for two hundred and thirty eight million dollars.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Yeah, see, I don't know you're targeting an individually. The
- 13:13Speaker 3: Mayor of New York. I mean, you don't have to
- 13:15Speaker 3: worry about Ken Griffin. He can take care of himself.
- 13:17Speaker 3: But to target a guy like that, it's pretty bad.
- 13:20Speaker 3: And this mom, Donnie, not only will get nothing done
- 13:23Speaker 3: for anybody, you know. Whatever, these socialists come along to
- 13:25Speaker 3: help the working class, to help the poor, they always
- 13:28Speaker 3: get poor. There's less jobs, there's less money. You know,
- 13:32Speaker 3: you chase these Ken Griffins out of New York, you're
- 13:34Speaker 3: gonna lose most of the tax revenue and then everybody's
- 13:37Speaker 3: gonna suffer. This mom, Donnie, I think he screwed up
- 13:41Speaker 3: the New York Mets. You know, he goes to U
- 13:45Speaker 3: City Field and they got that mister Met and mister
- 13:49Speaker 3: Met hugs this the video. The video came out of
- 13:53Speaker 3: you know a lot of I met mister Met. He
- 13:55Speaker 3: shook my hand. People meet mister Mett, they shake your hand.
- 14:00Speaker 3: I'll slap you on the back. The Mamdani one, he
- 14:02Speaker 3: hugs him, He kisses him a little weird boy. He
- 14:06Speaker 3: was really into Mamdanni. And I think it was Sid
- 14:10Speaker 3: Rosenberg he was the one that started this. Put the
- 14:13Speaker 3: thing up and he said it went crazy, and then
- 14:16Speaker 3: it went viral and because it was a terrible thing,
- 14:21Speaker 3: mister Met hugging, kissing Mamdani. And then since that happened,
- 14:25Speaker 3: they've lost eleven games in a row. So some people
- 14:28Speaker 3: think it's a real curse. Now, when was the last
- 14:30Speaker 3: time the Mets lost eleven games in a row. It's
- 14:32Speaker 3: like twenty five years ago, and it's one of the
- 14:36Speaker 3: worst losing streaks ever ever since this mister Met hugged
- 14:39Speaker 3: and kissed Mamdani, they've lost eleven games in a row. Coincidence,
- 14:45Speaker 3: I don't think. So, that's a hell of a coincidence.
- 14:48Speaker 3: And there are these curses, you know, the Kennedy family.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Everybody said, wow, there's just cursed. There's so many deaths
- 14:54Speaker 3: and assassinations and accidents and driving off roads and skiing
- 14:59Speaker 3: into tree, so many people killed in the Kennedy family. Well,
- 15:02Speaker 3: it's always been believed there's a curse in the family,
- 15:05Speaker 3: and it goes you know, Joe Kennedy Senior was the
- 15:07Speaker 3: worst anti Semite in the world, used to say the
- 15:10Speaker 3: ugliest anti Semitic things in private, and in the like
- 15:14Speaker 3: nineteen twenties, he's on a big fancy cruise and there's
- 15:19Speaker 3: a Asidic rabbi and a whole bunch of Orthodox Jews,
- 15:25Speaker 3: and Joe Kennedy goes crazy, yells and screams. He doesn't
- 15:27Speaker 3: want them allowed up on the deck. He wants them down,
- 15:30Speaker 3: hide them, call it. And the Rabbi got so I mean,
- 15:34Speaker 3: he was right, got so crazy at Joe Kennedy. He
- 15:36Speaker 3: put a curse on him in his family. It's a legend,
- 15:39Speaker 3: but I mean, look at the facts. Sounds like the
- 15:44Speaker 3: curse worked, and maybe this Mets curse will hold. We'll see,
- 15:47Speaker 3: We'll see they've lost eleven games in a row. He Hey,
- 15:50Speaker 3: we'll take some calls. Next, eight hundred three to two
- 15:52Speaker 3: one zero seven ten is the number eight hundred three
- 15:56Speaker 3: to two one zero seven ten, and Mark on demand
- 16:01Speaker 3: by setting a pre SAT for his podcast on the
- 16:04Speaker 3: iHeart Radio app.
- 16:05Speaker 8: Now back to Mark Simon.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Wr Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to David
- 16:12Speaker 3: in New Jersey. David, how you doing.
- 16:15Speaker 9: I'm doing good, Thank you. I hope everyone enjoyed the
- 16:17Speaker 9: global warming this morning.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Communist mont Dommie, I really would respectfully suggest everyone start
- 16:23Speaker 1: calling him that.
- 16:24Speaker 6: He's like pole Pott.
- 16:26Speaker 1: He's so brainwashed and spoiled, rotten. He's a communist.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, but he'd enjoy being called commedy mom Donnie.
- 16:32Speaker 3: He'd be proud of that. Call him crazy crazy Mom Donnie,
- 16:35Speaker 3: crazy mom Donnie.
- 16:37Speaker 4: He's pulpot compared to Stalin Or but it's.
- 16:41Speaker 3: With twenty twenty six. You'll spend ten minutes explain to
- 16:43Speaker 3: everybody who pole Pot is. You need a more up
- 16:45Speaker 3: to date reference. But call him crazy mom Donnie, because
- 16:48Speaker 3: everything he proposes is just crazy. Even this hugging. You know,
- 16:54Speaker 3: why is mister Matt hugging and kissing him better?
- 16:57Speaker 4: Yet?
- 16:57Speaker 3: Why is he so uh in love with the man?
- 17:00Speaker 3: I mean it's owned by Steve Cohen, hedge fund billionaire.
- 17:04Speaker 3: You know one thing about the Steinberner family, They were
- 17:06Speaker 3: in like real businesses, you know, shipping business, Hal Steinberner
- 17:11Speaker 3: before the Yankees. You know, he used to run hotels.
- 17:13Speaker 3: In fact, he once got voted the best Marriotte owner
- 17:16Speaker 3: in America. Even the business people. Steve Cohen just a
- 17:20Speaker 3: hedge fund guy. You watch the show Billions, it's based
- 17:23Speaker 3: on Steve Cohen. I mean they're just wheeling and doing
- 17:26Speaker 3: It's not they actually make anything. So why is he
- 17:29Speaker 3: so in love with the hedge fund team and not
- 17:31Speaker 3: the Yankees. Let's go to Mara in Nevada. Mara, how
- 17:34Speaker 3: you doing?
- 17:35Speaker 10: I'm unhappy this morning.
- 17:37Speaker 4: Mark.
- 17:37Speaker 10: I can't get the app on my computer. I can't
- 17:40Speaker 10: get the app on my TV. I had a call
- 17:42Speaker 10: up so I could hear you chow Vincent.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Mark, are your computer's not working?
- 17:48Speaker 4: No, I don't know.
- 17:49Speaker 10: I can't get you. I'm so unhappy.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Well, you're in Nevada. Is the internet problems?
- 17:53Speaker 11: I know?
- 17:54Speaker 10: But we're not far from Veguas. Yeah, but Mark, here's
- 17:58Speaker 10: why I called. You know, when the scheme of things,
- 18:01Speaker 10: it's not that long ago that the war came down
- 18:04Speaker 10: in Germany and everyone here was so happy. We got
- 18:09Speaker 10: the East Germans away from the communists. Look a wit
- 18:12Speaker 10: doing in this country? Communists? May a communist governor? Communist
- 18:17Speaker 10: gone with me? What the hell happened? WF Mark?
- 18:21Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:21Speaker 3: George Will used to say, we have to do this
- 18:24Speaker 3: every twenty five years. Every twenty five years, we have
- 18:26Speaker 3: to elect a socialist, a communists and do a demonstration
- 18:29Speaker 3: of how bad it is. For younger people who don't
- 18:32Speaker 3: realize how bad it is, we have to actually show
- 18:34Speaker 3: them it happens every twenty five years. We go so
- 18:38Speaker 3: far to the left with the Democrats, that they have
- 18:40Speaker 3: to put on a demonstration of how ridiculously stupid this
- 18:43Speaker 3: communism is, and then it cures another generation. Although this
- 18:48Speaker 3: generation today indoctrinated by these crazy universities. I don't know
- 18:52Speaker 3: if they'll learn anything. Let's go to Rich and Myrtle Beach. Rich,
- 18:55Speaker 3: how you doing good?
- 18:57Speaker 4: Pretty good?
- 18:57Speaker 8: Thanks?
- 18:58Speaker 9: Walk you know, Willie Clinton, Mamdani, Bernie Sanders, Obama. All
- 19:04Speaker 9: these people have to go after billionaires because they themselves
- 19:07Speaker 9: became millionaires through socialism and their go ability and the
- 19:11Speaker 9: stupidity of the public to keep electing these people just unbelievable.
- 19:15Speaker 9: Now you talk about Steve Bezos. I ordered a Bluetooth
- 19:18Speaker 9: speaker at five o'clock in the afternoon. I was here
- 19:21Speaker 9: by seven o'clock that night. I don't know how the
- 19:23Speaker 9: guy does that kind of stuff. And how long is
- 19:25Speaker 9: the trish going to stick around as the police commissioners
- 19:28Speaker 9: this city continues to go down.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Down THEWN Yeah, well we'll see yeah, see you kids today.
- 19:33Speaker 3: You don't know what life was like before Jeff Bezos.
- 19:35Speaker 3: You want a speaker, you go on Amazon, you read
- 19:38Speaker 3: all the reviews. You see it, see how many stars.
- 19:40Speaker 3: You learn that's it. Do you know what we used
- 19:42Speaker 3: to have to do. We used to have to go
- 19:45Speaker 3: like all the way over the Best Buy, or we
- 19:46Speaker 3: had to go to P. C. Richard, Or we had
- 19:48Speaker 3: to go to Crazy Eddy, or we had to go
- 19:50Speaker 3: to a uh back then they called they had these
- 19:53Speaker 3: audio stores. You had to go look in a room.
- 19:56Speaker 3: They had all the different speakers. You had to deal
- 19:58Speaker 3: with a huckster sales men who kept trying to push
- 20:00Speaker 3: this one brand on you because they were having a promotion.
- 20:03Speaker 3: The salesman who sells the most of that gets a
- 20:05Speaker 3: trip to Hawaii. That kind of stuff. It was a
- 20:08Speaker 3: different world back then. And then you had to how'd
- 20:10Speaker 3: you get the speaker home? And what if you bought
- 20:12Speaker 3: two big speakers, you'd have to have them delivered. You'd
- 20:14Speaker 3: have to wait for This was ridiculous Amazon, push a button.
- 20:19Speaker 3: There it is the next day. So stop hating these billionaires.
- 20:24Speaker 3: Let's go to Ted in Paramus. Ted, how you doing, Yeah.
- 20:29Speaker 8: Good morning?
- 20:30Speaker 4: Hey.
- 20:30Speaker 8: This tax on expensive homes in Manhattan for non residents, yes,
- 20:37Speaker 8: Piana tear, Yeah, it might actually be illegal. If you remember,
- 20:43Speaker 8: Pataki ran on undoing the commuter tax in New York
- 20:49Speaker 8: City said, oh, Okay, well you took out the commuter
- 20:52Speaker 8: tax for New York residents, We'll just keep on tax
- 20:56Speaker 8: in the commuters from New Jersey. Went up to the
- 21:00Speaker 8: appeals court, Nope, got to tax everybody.
- 21:03Speaker 3: The saying yeah, well you could have it's a borderline
- 21:06Speaker 3: one here. You can tax, you can can tax non residents,
- 21:10Speaker 3: but it should be tested in the courts. It's really
- 21:14Speaker 3: bigotry and discrimination if you targeted a special group. In
- 21:18Speaker 3: other words, if you said we're gonna have a higher
- 21:20Speaker 3: tax on Swedish people, you can't do that. You're gonna
- 21:24Speaker 3: have a higher tax on billionaires. So we're gonna just
- 21:27Speaker 3: target this group. It should be tested in the court.
- 21:30Speaker 3: Remind me to get back to Bernie Sanders, so they'll
- 21:32Speaker 3: do that later. You know, here's your socialist Bernie Sanders
- 21:36Speaker 3: talking about equality. The guy has made himself a multime
- 21:41Speaker 3: multime multi millionaire. We'll explain the scheme that he used
- 21:44Speaker 3: to do it. And now he's got three homes. How
- 21:47Speaker 3: many people do you have three homes? Well, he's been
- 21:52Speaker 3: confronted with that. What do you hear his stupid explanation.
- 21:54Speaker 3: We'll get to the pope coming up, and a lot
- 21:56Speaker 3: more coming up in the next hour. Also, we'll get
- 22:00Speaker 3: to Tom Holman, who was great. We'll get to Cash
- 22:03Speaker 3: but tell he's going to sue one of the worst
- 22:06Speaker 3: magazines in the world. Well, we'll get to all of
- 22:08Speaker 3: that coming up. But when we come back, the brilliant
- 22:10Speaker 3: columnist Michael Goodwin. He'll be with us next on seven
- 22:13Speaker 3: to ten. Woar, it's more Mark Marximon on sevent ten.
- 22:20Speaker 3: Wr Hey, Michael Goodwin, the best columnist in America. You
- 22:25Speaker 3: can read his column every Sunday and every Wednesday in
- 22:27Speaker 3: the New York Post. And if you go to the
- 22:29Speaker 3: New York Post website you can get all of his columns.
- 22:31Speaker 3: They're all up there on the New York Post website.
- 22:34Speaker 3: Michael Goodwin, how you doing, Good morning, Mark, Thank you Hey,
- 22:39Speaker 3: great column yesterday. Hochel and Mom Domie. This socialism, it
- 22:45Speaker 3: doesn't even sound good on paper. This tax the rich,
- 22:48Speaker 3: chase the billionaires away from the even on paper doesn't
- 22:51Speaker 3: sound good. What is wrong with them?
- 22:54Speaker 1: Well, look, I think Hoko was running scared.
- 22:58Speaker 11: Of course, he's up for a real election, and she
- 23:01Speaker 11: obviously feels the only way she can win is that
- 23:06Speaker 11: Mom Donnie urges his supporters in the city.
- 23:10Speaker 1: To vote for her.
- 23:12Speaker 11: I mean, it may work as a strategy, but it's
- 23:15Speaker 11: going to bankrupt the state eventually, that she keeps going
- 23:20Speaker 11: this way with taxing, taxing, taxing. You know, formally she
- 23:25Speaker 11: said she understood that many people had left the state
- 23:30Speaker 11: for friendlier climbs.
- 23:33Speaker 1: But now she's doing it again.
- 23:35Speaker 11: I mean she's one day she four higher taxes, the
- 23:39Speaker 11: next day she opposes them.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Yeah, and now she's got an opponent who's a tough opponent.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Bruce Blakeman would be a great governor. He's very real,
- 23:48Speaker 3: he's really himself. He's not putting on an act of
- 23:51Speaker 3: any kind. She's got a good shot at losing, doesn't she.
- 23:55Speaker 11: Well, it all depends on the city, the way the
- 24:00Speaker 11: state works. Democratic candidates statewide have been winning for the
- 24:06Speaker 11: last twenty for forty years by racking up the score
- 24:11Speaker 11: in the city and because there aren't enough people outside
- 24:16Speaker 11: the city for Republican candidate to make up the difference.
- 24:20Speaker 11: So that's why I think she's chilting too heavily, so
- 24:25Speaker 11: heavily toward Mamdanie and his high tax plans, is because
- 24:31Speaker 11: she wants his supporters. Remember he got over a million votes.
- 24:36Speaker 11: She wants them to come to her, and so far
- 24:40Speaker 11: he is sticky with her. So he looks to me
- 24:44Speaker 11: like he is preparing to deliver as many votes as
- 24:49Speaker 11: possible for her in the city.
- 24:52Speaker 1: That will give Blakeman a real challenge.
- 24:55Speaker 3: Yeah, but he'll come through in the end. So is
- 25:00Speaker 3: this Pierre Tear tax the single dumbest thing you've ever heard?
- 25:03Speaker 3: And by the way, let's give Andrew Cuomo credit. He's
- 25:06Speaker 3: the guy that first came up with and first pushed it.
- 25:08Speaker 3: But have you ever heard of any dumber tax?
- 25:12Speaker 1: It's one of many dumb taxes. But you know the Uh.
- 25:17Speaker 11: Of course, Mamdani wanted higher personal income taxes and higher
- 25:23Speaker 11: corporate taxes. Now Holko said, no, we're not doing any taxes.
- 25:28Speaker 11: You know, we're we're people are leaving already. And then
- 25:31Speaker 11: she came up with this Kokamenny plan. I was effectively
- 25:36Speaker 11: raising real estate taxes on second homes in the city.
- 25:41Speaker 11: Now again she acts, if this is a kind of
- 25:45Speaker 11: harmless thing, But those properties are mostly condominiums.
- 25:50Speaker 1: They already paid direct real estate taxes.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Uh.
- 25:55Speaker 11: In New York Times estimated that each of these apartments
- 25:59Speaker 11: may all ready you detained something on the order of
- 26:02Speaker 11: fifty or sixty thousand dollars a year and property taxes,
- 26:07Speaker 11: not to mention the other building taxes. As they say,
- 26:11Speaker 11: they provide jobs in the neighborhoods, restaurants, retail, all kinds
- 26:18Speaker 11: of things that they contribute to the city, construction jobs.
- 26:23Speaker 11: So this is, as I say in the column, they're
- 26:27Speaker 11: like on an ideological bender. They're like two drunks. They're
- 26:31Speaker 11: drunk on taxes and they're gonna kill the gold goose.
- 26:36Speaker 3: Hey, let me just correct one thing. This apartment over
- 26:38Speaker 3: here that Ken Griffin owns, the one Mom Donnie singled
- 26:41Speaker 3: out two hundred and thirty million dollars, His real estate
- 26:45Speaker 3: tax is almost a million dollars a year already.
- 26:48Speaker 1: Is that okay?
- 26:50Speaker 3: Seventy million?
- 26:50Speaker 1: I believe that thousand?
- 26:52Speaker 9: Yeah, so.
- 26:56Speaker 11: Right, And that's see that's probably on the high end.
- 27:02Speaker 11: But nonetheless it's not nothing. Right, Why should he pay more?
- 27:07Speaker 11: Isn't that enough? I mean, what what's enough?
- 27:11Speaker 1: Nothing?
- 27:12Speaker 11: It's because of the stending that the governments do in
- 27:16Speaker 11: New York City and Albany. That's why they're forever scraping
- 27:20Speaker 11: a barrow, trying to get a little more out of
- 27:23Speaker 11: people's pockets.
- 27:25Speaker 3: Yeah, our budget is probably a double at least double,
- 27:29Speaker 3: maybe triple what it should be. But is there any
- 27:32Speaker 3: politicians honest enough to say we need to cut the
- 27:34Speaker 3: budget dramatically? Is there any politician who can do that?
- 27:38Speaker 1: No, note on the None on the New York scene,
- 27:42Speaker 1: that's for sure.
- 27:43Speaker 4: You know, Mark.
- 27:44Speaker 11: For a couple of years now, I've been comparing New
- 27:47Speaker 11: York's budget and New York State's budget to Florida and
- 27:51Speaker 11: state budget.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Florida has three million more.
- 27:55Speaker 11: People than New York City, than New York states, and
- 28:00Speaker 11: your state budget is going to be something like two
- 28:03Speaker 11: hundred and seventy billion dollars.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Florida, the whole.
- 28:08Speaker 11: State, its budget is one hundred and seventeen billion dollars.
- 28:14Speaker 1: So what does New York need so much money for?
- 28:18Speaker 1: Primarily one thing, it's the unions.
- 28:21Speaker 11: The unions drive up the cost of government, and of
- 28:25Speaker 11: course all the unions support every Democrat.
- 28:29Speaker 3: Yeah, and if you go to Florida, you'll notice services
- 28:31Speaker 3: are a lot better, from roads to schools to bridges,
- 28:35Speaker 3: much better down there. Yes, Hey, the war in Iran
- 28:40Speaker 3: looks like it's heating up again. Apparently it's a civil war.
- 28:44Speaker 3: We're negotiating with political leadership and they want to make
- 28:47Speaker 3: a deal, but they don't have control of this crazy
- 28:49Speaker 3: Republican guard that wants to keep fighting. How will we
- 28:53Speaker 3: ever settle that?
- 28:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, they're going to have to settle that themselves.
- 29:00Speaker 11: But look, I was hopeful over the weekend mark that
- 29:05Speaker 11: the ceasefire might hold and therefore would become the format.
- 29:11Speaker 1: For a lasting peace. But I'm not sure now because the.
- 29:15Speaker 11: Iranians they have this attitude that if only they stick
- 29:21Speaker 11: with it long enough, Trump will back down. I think
- 29:25Speaker 11: they're calculating that he will have to do that in
- 29:30Speaker 11: order to keep the Republican's hole in the midterms.
- 29:34Speaker 1: So they're making a bet that the.
- 29:37Speaker 11: Result of their intransitence will be Democrats weighing the House
- 29:42Speaker 11: and maybe the Senate, so that they are playing politics.
- 29:45Speaker 11: They're interfering in American politics. You would think the Democratic
- 29:51Speaker 11: Party would want to separate itself from that, but quite
- 29:54Speaker 11: the contrary.
- 29:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 29:56Speaker 3: So, hey, a lot of people have got a lot
- 29:59Speaker 3: of great reaction column last week about the New York
- 30:01Speaker 3: Times and how crazy it went. It used to be
- 30:04Speaker 3: so revered and respected the same thing with Atlantic Magazine.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Atlantic Magazine used to be such a prestigious magazine it's
- 30:10Speaker 3: now right crazy left wing magazine. Is there anything left
- 30:15Speaker 3: that you would actually call mainstream media? It doesn't exist anymore,
- 30:18Speaker 3: does it.
- 30:20Speaker 1: No, it's you know, it's sort of like the political parties. Mark.
- 30:24Speaker 11: The media has splintered right into two camps logee. And
- 30:30Speaker 11: of course there's some moderation with any many many institutions,
- 30:35Speaker 11: but fundamentally.
- 30:37Speaker 1: The media has become the brains of the Democratic Party.
- 30:43Speaker 11: And so if the New York Times or The Atlantic
- 30:46Speaker 11: endorses something Chuck Schumer says, you can death, that's going
- 30:51Speaker 11: to help Chuck Schumer among Democratic voters. The other and
- 30:55Speaker 11: the course that's going on is the Democrats are having
- 30:59Speaker 11: a civil war with Barack Obama and with Mom Donnie, right,
- 31:04Speaker 11: I mean, Mam Donnie is now I think the most
- 31:08Speaker 11: popular important person in the Democratic Party. Nobody talks about
- 31:13Speaker 11: AOC anymore. Bernie Sanders and Mam Donni. That's the Democratic
- 31:18Speaker 11: Party for you today.
- 31:20Speaker 3: Yeah, there was a famous meeting with the Obama and
- 31:23Speaker 3: Mam Donnie. Obama very gracious, But wouldn't you bet that
- 31:26Speaker 3: when Obama got backstage, he looked at everybody and rolled
- 31:29Speaker 3: his eyes a little at Mam Donnie.
- 31:32Speaker 1: I would hope though that I'm not sure.
- 31:35Speaker 11: I look, I think Obama was, of course the most
- 31:40Speaker 11: liberal president we've had in modern times. And I think
- 31:44Speaker 11: he's probably looks at himself as the grand old man
- 31:49Speaker 11: of the progressive.
- 31:51Speaker 1: Party that the Democrats are becoming.
- 31:53Speaker 11: And so I think his appearance with Mom Donnie is
- 31:58Speaker 11: a calculated one help themselves as well as Mom Donnie.
- 32:03Speaker 3: Yeah, same thing with Trump. And you know they just
- 32:06Speaker 3: laugh at this guy. But you need things to get
- 32:08Speaker 3: things done in New York, you gotta play along with
- 32:10Speaker 3: Mom Donnie. So Michael Goodwin, great work, column every Sunday,
- 32:15Speaker 3: every Wednesday, always brilliant and thanks for being with us.
- 32:19Speaker 1: My pleasure. Thank you, Mark.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Take care. You can read Michael Goodwin every Sunday, every Wednesday,
- 32:25Speaker 3: New York Post. All his columns are up on the website. Hey,
- 32:28Speaker 3: we got a lot to get to today. Oh remind
- 32:31Speaker 3: me to get to the Pope and Bill Maher particularly
- 32:33Speaker 3: good on the Pope. We'll get to that coming up.
- 32:35Speaker 3: And don't forget Buck and Clay will be here at
- 32:37Speaker 3: noon today. Excellent show every day noon to three. Dan
- 32:41Speaker 3: at three, you got the most listened to radio show
- 32:44Speaker 3: in America. Sean Hannity Jesse Kelly at six and Jimmy Faylor.
- 32:47Speaker 3: What a great show, very funny every night at nine
- 32:51Speaker 3: on seven to ten w Mark the Moons on wor.
- 32:57Speaker 4: Hey.
- 33:00Speaker 3: So you know, we killed on the first day of
- 33:02Speaker 3: the war all the leadership of Iran. We killed the Iatola.
- 33:05Speaker 3: We killed forty of the top top leaders were a
- 33:08Speaker 3: first day, wiped them out. Since then, you haven't heard
- 33:14Speaker 3: anything about the Iatola Komani where what did they do?
- 33:18Speaker 3: Did they bury him? Was their funeral? It's five weeks now,
- 33:22Speaker 3: whatever it is, no word on it. Well, apparently Iranian
- 33:28Speaker 3: officials are afraid to bury him.
- 33:31Speaker 4: Now.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Normally when an Iotola dies. The last time it happened
- 33:34Speaker 3: in nineteen eighty nine, they had a funeral. Literally millions
- 33:39Speaker 3: of Iranians showed up for the funeral. It was the
- 33:41Speaker 3: major event of the of the country. Millions flooded the
- 33:45Speaker 3: street in Tehran for the massive funeral. And then they
- 33:49Speaker 3: had a state, long, days long, state funeral and they
- 33:53Speaker 3: buried him. That's what you do when an iatola is killed. Well,
- 33:55Speaker 3: here there's nothing. Nothing. Apparently they're afraid to bury them.
- 34:00Speaker 3: They're afraid to have a funeral, They're afraid to pick
- 34:03Speaker 3: a site to bury them in. They're afraid that it
- 34:06Speaker 3: won't be safe, that if there's a massive funeral, people
- 34:09Speaker 3: will be killed there by US forces. They're afraid if
- 34:12Speaker 3: there's a burial site, it'll be taken out. They're looking
- 34:14Speaker 3: at a very very remote site in this region, Turkmenistan,
- 34:20Speaker 3: which is the iathols hometown, but so far they're afraid
- 34:24Speaker 3: to actually do it. Hey, guess who's running for a
- 34:27Speaker 3: city camp. Well, we'll get to all of this coming up.
- 34:30Speaker 3: A lot to talk about in the next hour. Mark
- 34:32Speaker 3: Simone here every weekday ten to noon, or if ten
- 34:37Speaker 3: to noon doesn't work for you, you can listen to
- 34:38Speaker 3: the show anytime, day or night. Anytime you want to
- 34:40Speaker 3: hear the show. You just get the podcast. Wherever you
- 34:43Speaker 3: get your podcasts, you'll find this show. So we'll be
- 34:47Speaker 3: back right after the news. A lot to get to
- 34:48Speaker 3: in the next hour here on seven to ten.
- 34:50Speaker 5: W mister New York Mark Simon, I'm a voice of
- 34:55Speaker 5: New York seven ten woong.
- 34:59Speaker 3: Hey, we'll get to all the fun stuff.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Now.
- 35:02Speaker 3: It's gonna be like in the fifties today it's cooled off. Yay,
- 35:07Speaker 3: you know what, I'll take this over the ninety degree days.
- 35:09Speaker 3: I wasn't used to. That's going to be fifties and sixties.
- 35:12Speaker 3: It'll get to seventy like on Thursday. So we're talking
- 35:17Speaker 3: about taxes, you know, and Mamdanie goes off to these
- 35:21Speaker 3: billionaires and they pay their fair share, they pay their
- 35:23Speaker 3: fair ship, you know. Nope, you see what these billionaires pay.
- 35:27Speaker 3: They actually don't pay their fair share. They pay like
- 35:30Speaker 3: five times their fair share. They pay more than they
- 35:32Speaker 3: should be paying. If you're a billionaire in New York,
- 35:36Speaker 3: you're paying like fifty six percent of your money in taxes,
- 35:40Speaker 3: there's something unethical, immoral, but it's totally immoral. How could
- 35:43Speaker 3: you take there should be a national law. How can
- 35:46Speaker 3: you take fifty six percent of somebody's income and call
- 35:48Speaker 3: it taxes. It's ridiculous. There should be some sort of law,
- 35:55Speaker 3: an actual national law passed that nobody can pay more
- 35:59Speaker 3: than that. I don't know, twenty five percent, maybe thirty
- 36:02Speaker 3: percent of their money in taxes. How did you pay
- 36:05Speaker 3: fifty six percent of your money in taxes? So you
- 36:08Speaker 3: know they go after Bezos all the time or Elon Musk.
- 36:10Speaker 3: Do you know what Jeff Bezos paid in tax last year?
- 36:14Speaker 3: In income tax Jeff Bezos last year paid something like
- 36:20Speaker 3: ten billion in taxes. Elon Musk paid fourteen billion in taxes.
- 36:25Speaker 3: How much tax are you supposed to pay? Remember that
- 36:29Speaker 3: it was two years ago. Was Elizabeth Warren and that
- 36:32Speaker 3: whole bunch in Bernie Sanders. They kept going after Musk
- 36:35Speaker 3: saying he was not paying his fair share, not paying
- 36:38Speaker 3: his fair share. Well, then he released the numbers. It
- 36:40Speaker 3: turned out that he paid more tax that year than
- 36:45Speaker 3: anybody in the history of the world. He was the
- 36:47Speaker 3: single biggest tax bear on earth and set the all
- 36:49Speaker 3: time record. He paid like fourteen billion that year in taxes.
- 36:53Speaker 3: And for all they're huffing and puffing these socialists, you
- 36:56Speaker 3: know they Bernie Sanders is a great example. The guy's
- 36:59Speaker 3: got three homes, three serious houses. He's a multi multi millionaire.
- 37:05Speaker 3: Now you're saying, well, how could a guy in a
- 37:07Speaker 3: government salary become a multi millionaire? Well, a little scheming,
- 37:12Speaker 3: a little financial shenanigans. You know when you run for office,
- 37:17Speaker 3: when you run for president, the big money, you know,
- 37:20Speaker 3: all the campaign consultants and all the people that you
- 37:24Speaker 3: know run your campaign, they get paid. The big money
- 37:27Speaker 3: is in the media buys. You know, when you raise
- 37:31Speaker 3: hundreds of millions, and you spend it on television commercials,
- 37:34Speaker 3: radio commercials, and you got to go out and buy
- 37:38Speaker 3: one hundred and fifty million in commercials. Well, the buyer,
- 37:44Speaker 3: the media buyer, gets a ten percent fee on those
- 37:47Speaker 3: buys because the media buyer figures out exactly where to
- 37:51Speaker 3: place them. It's very tricky, very tricky. You know who
- 37:55Speaker 3: you want to reach. Like, let's say you came up
- 37:57Speaker 3: here to the sixth floor here at iHeart. We've got
- 38:00Speaker 3: a lot of radio stations up here, and on this
- 38:03Speaker 3: floor we reach about twenty three million people every day.
- 38:08Speaker 3: We got all the biggest stations on earth. There's a
- 38:10Speaker 3: Z one hundred and Q one oh four light FM,
- 38:13Speaker 3: Power one oh five light FM. I think most listen
- 38:15Speaker 3: to radio station in America by far. But if you
- 38:19Speaker 3: come up here, you're the agency, and you come up
- 38:22Speaker 3: here and you want to buy some commercials, where do
- 38:23Speaker 3: you buy them? I mean, if you talk to the salesperson,
- 38:27Speaker 3: you know they'll try to help you. And see, we
- 38:29Speaker 3: have a whole marketing team. Well, you got to say,
- 38:33Speaker 3: especially in a political campaign, I'm weak in Hispanic voters
- 38:37Speaker 3: in New York City. Well, we can figure out exactly
- 38:41Speaker 3: which station. Maybe it's k TU, maybe it's just a
- 38:43Speaker 3: which station reaches that. Or I need to reach an
- 38:46Speaker 3: older audience, well we know which station to put you on.
- 38:49Speaker 3: I need to reach teenagers in the suburbs, well we
- 38:52Speaker 3: know which station to put you on. So but that's
- 38:54Speaker 3: what media buyers do. You hire an agency and they
- 38:56Speaker 3: figure all this out. So the media buyer gets a
- 38:58Speaker 3: ten percent fee on the commercial by So in the
- 39:01Speaker 3: Bernie Sanders presidential campaigns, where hundreds of millions were spent,
- 39:06Speaker 3: they had an agency as their media buyer that nobody
- 39:09Speaker 3: ever heard of. It was a new one, nobody recognized
- 39:12Speaker 3: the name, small agency, and they got the ten percent
- 39:16Speaker 3: commission and on a couple hundred million in ad buys,
- 39:19Speaker 3: that's about a twenty million dollar commission. Twenty five million
- 39:22Speaker 3: dollar commission. Well it turned out if you looked at
- 39:25Speaker 3: looked up, who is this little agency owned by missus Sanders,
- 39:30Speaker 3: missus Bernie Sanders. So she was the media buyer and
- 39:35Speaker 3: they pocketed the twenty twenty five million. They've done that
- 39:38Speaker 3: a few times, so he knows. Maybe he's up to
- 39:39Speaker 3: thirty million now. And they got three homes and he
- 39:45Speaker 3: was on some show that confronted him about you know,
- 39:47Speaker 3: you're supposed to be mister socialists. I could we have
- 39:49Speaker 3: three homes, and he went through this whole explanation.
- 39:52Speaker 12: Guess what, I'm the United States Centator, and I own
- 39:54Speaker 12: a home in Washington, d C. As do most centers.
- 39:57Speaker 12: You know, you live there year after he when I first,
- 40:00Speaker 12: wait a.
- 40:00Speaker 3: Minute, wait a minute, let's stop right there. Most of
- 40:03Speaker 3: these guys, the new congressman, a lot of these senators,
- 40:06Speaker 3: they don't own a home in Wash They own a
- 40:07Speaker 3: home in their district. So what do they do when
- 40:09Speaker 3: I got to go to Washington, Well, some of them
- 40:11Speaker 3: sleep in their office if they can't afford a second home.
- 40:14Speaker 3: And what most of them do is they have roommates.
- 40:17Speaker 3: You know, there's these apartments where like five senators live.
- 40:20Speaker 3: Schumer lived in one of those three years. Yeah, so
- 40:23Speaker 3: they have roommates. They do stuff like that. They don't
- 40:25Speaker 3: own big homes in each place.
- 40:27Speaker 12: Actually, when I was in Congress was sixteen years. I
- 40:29Speaker 12: rented all the time. But I got elected. Okay, you
- 40:32Speaker 12: got a six year term. You know what, Let's buy
- 40:33Speaker 12: a house. So we wat a house, and guess what,
- 40:36Speaker 12: Like many thousands of people in the State of Vermont.
- 40:39Speaker 12: I have a summer camp. It's a nice one on
- 40:41Speaker 12: Lake Champlain.
- 40:43Speaker 3: He's got another very expensive home on Lake Champagne like
- 40:46Speaker 3: most people in Vermont. That not everybody in Vermont has
- 40:49Speaker 3: a nice, big home, second third home on Lake sho
- 40:51Speaker 3: That's three major houses this guy owns. Trying to pretend
- 40:55Speaker 3: he's a socialist. It's absolutely ridiculous. It's all just talk.
- 41:00Speaker 3: It's just dreamy eyed. They're like crazy college Kids's what
- 41:04Speaker 3: mom Donnie is? You know, Mom Donnie is? You know
- 41:07Speaker 3: twelve years old? You know, went to Columbia wherever the hell?
- 41:10Speaker 3: You know, carverd Columbia. These are anti Semitic socialist training camps.
- 41:15Speaker 3: They just come out all starry. They've had no actual, practical,
- 41:18Speaker 3: real experience. They think it works. It doesn't work.
- 41:21Speaker 5: A democratic socialist politics is one that should be judged
- 41:24Speaker 5: on its delivery, like any ideology, and what we're showing
- 41:27Speaker 5: in this city is we can we can pursue the
- 41:29Speaker 5: big things like universal childcare and do the pothole politics
- 41:33Speaker 5: at the same time that we're showing and not just
- 41:35Speaker 5: filling in the potholes, changing the catch basins, but also
- 41:38Speaker 5: repaving over a thousand miles of roadway.
- 41:41Speaker 3: That's what it's all about, not actually doing anything. You
- 41:44Speaker 3: just got to talk. See any other thing is these
- 41:46Speaker 3: young people, these young socialists. It's about the tempo. You
- 41:51Speaker 3: got to be at the right tempo. So if I
- 41:54Speaker 3: talk like this, it doesn't sound so great. But if
- 41:57Speaker 3: you talk like mom Donnie, and you talk very fast,
- 41:59Speaker 3: and you sound like you can talk a mile a minute,
- 42:00Speaker 3: it makes you sound much smarter, because how can he
- 42:02Speaker 3: talk that fast if he's not that smart, you know,
- 42:03Speaker 3: So if you just talk really fast, it makes you
- 42:05Speaker 3: sound like So if you ever listened to these podcasts
- 42:07Speaker 3: of these twenty three year old left wing you listen
- 42:11Speaker 3: to the podcast and they all talk like this, and
- 42:12Speaker 3: you're listening to the podcast and they're talking like this,
- 42:14Speaker 3: and you think, well, I must they hit the wrong
- 42:15Speaker 3: button because it sounds sped up, and it's not. It's
- 42:17Speaker 3: just that's how they talk. Do you see the guy
- 42:20Speaker 3: in real life? Hey, how are you? I'm very good?
- 42:22Speaker 3: How are you?
- 42:23Speaker 4: They did?
- 42:23Speaker 3: They just talk like that? So now the real reality
- 42:27Speaker 3: of all this is you look at mom Donnie free busses. Well,
- 42:30Speaker 3: it turns out he's now confessed, he's now admitted he
- 42:33Speaker 3: can't do the free buses. He has absolutely no authority
- 42:36Speaker 3: over the buses. It's up to hokl the empty So
- 42:39Speaker 3: he yes, can't do the free buses. That universal daycare
- 42:42Speaker 3: for all the kids, he's now saying, well, it could
- 42:46Speaker 3: be for ages two to four. He can't do it
- 42:49Speaker 3: for all the kids. Like he promised. The free grocery stores.
- 42:52Speaker 3: You'll never ever ever see a free grocery store. In fact,
- 42:56Speaker 3: he'll never get one built. But let's say he did
- 42:58Speaker 3: get one built like he claims in three years. He's
- 43:01Speaker 3: now confessed it won't even be free, and it won't
- 43:05Speaker 3: be discount. He's now saying it'll just be it'll be
- 43:09Speaker 3: regular prices, but there'll be a core, a little core
- 43:12Speaker 3: of items that'll be at a discount, just a little
- 43:15Speaker 3: core of important staple items. So he's now admitted that
- 43:19Speaker 3: all the major promises can't possibly happen. If you watch
- 43:24Speaker 3: all weekend these Sunday shows, or all the crazy left
- 43:28Speaker 3: wing John Oliver, all these crazy type shows, the talk
- 43:31Speaker 3: was of Trump has ruined himself attacking the pope. His
- 43:37Speaker 3: war with the Pope has cost him everything. The political
- 43:43Speaker 3: capital he blew on that he's ruined with Catholics. This
- 43:49Speaker 3: has really hurt him the war with the Pope.
- 43:51Speaker 4: Now.
- 43:52Speaker 3: I don't know if they know this, but I could
- 43:54Speaker 3: go back to twenty sixteen and find the same shows
- 43:57Speaker 3: claiming the same thing when he went after Pope Francis
- 44:00Speaker 3: ten years ago. Exactly ten years ago, he had the
- 44:02Speaker 3: same fight with Pope Francis, and that one was actually
- 44:05Speaker 3: even worse. And not only did it not hurt him,
- 44:08Speaker 3: he won the election right after that, so it didn't
- 44:09Speaker 3: affect anything. And the idea of liberals defending the pope,
- 44:15Speaker 3: liberals taking the Pope's side. Listen to Bill Maher, I
- 44:19Speaker 3: love hypocritical America. I really do see liberals suddenly love
- 44:22Speaker 3: the Pope. O'kay, who does exorcism, doesn't believe in gay marriage,
- 44:26Speaker 3: no women priests. But now because he's feuding with Trump,
- 44:29Speaker 3: MSNBC loves this guy. He's got a big speech on
- 44:33Speaker 3: the floor from Chuck Schumer. Yeah, the hypocrisy unbelievable. Hey,
- 44:39Speaker 3: Tom Holman was making a speech and he got heckled.
- 44:43Speaker 3: You know, you get these young college crazy hecklers. But
- 44:49Speaker 3: Holman doesn't put up with hecklers. Listen to react to
- 44:51Speaker 3: the heckling. They got morens like this all the country.
- 44:56Speaker 3: This guy, this guy wasn't like.
- 44:58Speaker 13: The surface nation.
- 45:00Speaker 3: This guy ain't got the balls to.
- 45:01Speaker 13: Be a nice officer. He ever got the ball to
- 45:05Speaker 13: be a born charge. This guy he lives in his
- 45:08Speaker 13: mother's basement. Nor think that surprised me. You don't have
- 45:11Speaker 13: purple hair and a nose drink.
- 45:13Speaker 3: Get out of here, your loser, good for a home
- 45:18Speaker 3: and so hey, you know about the cash patel uh
- 45:25Speaker 3: We were talking about this before. There were publications that
- 45:27Speaker 3: used to be very highly regarded and respected. You know,
- 45:30Speaker 3: The New York Times was very prestigious, The New York Times,
- 45:33Speaker 3: they call it what they called the gray old Gray Lady,
- 45:37Speaker 3: the paper of record, the New York Times, The New
- 45:40Speaker 3: Yorker was a very prestigious magazine. The Atlantic was a
- 45:45Speaker 3: very elite literary magazine. The Atlantic very very respected. Well,
- 45:52Speaker 3: all that changed. The New York Times is the most
- 45:54Speaker 3: left wing propaganda they'd been caught with, more fake news,
- 45:58Speaker 3: more lies, same thing with the Post. The New Yorker
- 46:02Speaker 3: is the most biased, slanted crap in the world. You know,
- 46:07Speaker 3: they used to call it mainstream media. There's no such
- 46:09Speaker 3: thing as mainstream media. New York Times. You can't. You
- 46:11Speaker 3: can't call it mainstream. It's such a left wing propaganda,
- 46:15Speaker 3: fake newsplace. And the Atlantic was such a prestigious sort
- 46:20Speaker 3: of magazine. Well now it's just chunk, left wing junk.
- 46:24Speaker 3: Years ago. It was bought by the widow of Steve Jobs,
- 46:28Speaker 3: Loreen Jobs, when Steve Jobs died left her billions of
- 46:33Speaker 3: dollars and she started a foundation, and one of the
- 46:35Speaker 3: things she wanted she bought The Atlantic magazine. And I
- 46:38Speaker 3: guess she's a real left wing cook because she loaded
- 46:42Speaker 3: it up with these real left wing cooks. And the
- 46:45Speaker 3: Atlantic a lot of fake news. Yeah, I once in
- 46:47Speaker 3: a while to get something right, you know, they accidentally
- 46:50Speaker 3: tripped into that signal Gate story. But most of the
- 46:53Speaker 3: time it's just absolute left wing crap, most of it
- 46:56Speaker 3: not true. So they went after cash Patel, and they're
- 47:01Speaker 3: claiming Cash Patel, the FBI director, is a drunk. He's
- 47:04Speaker 3: always out partying. He gets so drunk he can't work.
- 47:08Speaker 3: He got so drunk he couldn't find his office. He
- 47:10Speaker 3: got so drunk he did something with his computer and
- 47:13Speaker 3: blocked himself out of his own computer. Can't get into
- 47:16Speaker 3: the system. And all this stuff. Now, usually when these
- 47:21Speaker 3: left wing publications lie when they make up this crap
- 47:23Speaker 3: what they do New York Times, they all do this.
- 47:26Speaker 3: If they're making up some you've seen Cash Patel, does
- 47:29Speaker 3: he look I mean, look at Eric Swallwell, okay, that
- 47:32Speaker 3: looks like a guy who could get himself into some
- 47:33Speaker 3: trouble with booze and women and drugs. And he looks
- 47:37Speaker 3: the type Cash Pattel doesn't look like a big party here.
- 47:41Speaker 3: I mean, I know the guy not that well, but
- 47:44Speaker 3: I've known him for years. He's the pretty normal guy.
- 47:47Speaker 3: He's not a wild, crazy partying guy. But they printed
- 47:52Speaker 3: all this crap. And when you got to make up
- 47:54Speaker 3: some far fetched crap, what they always do New York
- 47:56Speaker 3: Times Atlantic Instead of saying we have a confidential source,
- 47:59Speaker 3: say twenty seven confidential sources. Whenever you see a big number,
- 48:04Speaker 3: you know they're lying. You know they're lying. You know
- 48:07Speaker 3: it'd be like three sources. It's usually two sources is all.
- 48:10Speaker 3: You want, one source and somebody up back it up.
- 48:13Speaker 3: Where you have twenty seven confidentials, well whatever you are,
- 48:16Speaker 3: these huge numbers. You used to hear that with Brennan
- 48:19Speaker 3: and Clapper and you know all that crap they made
- 48:22Speaker 3: up about Russia, we have thirty seven confidentials. So it's
- 48:27Speaker 3: Atlantic Magazine. It's probably all false, all made up. So
- 48:30Speaker 3: cash Ptel is now talking about suing them, and this
- 48:36Speaker 3: is gonna be tough. It's tough when you're a public figure.
- 48:38Speaker 3: But this is pretty serious to accusations about being so
- 48:42Speaker 3: drunk he couldn't function, being so drunk, he screwed up
- 48:45Speaker 3: his whole computer system, this kind of stuff. So he's
- 48:48Speaker 3: gonna probably sue Atlantic Magazine. This could get very interesting
- 48:53Speaker 3: because they have a feeling just knowing them that they
- 48:55Speaker 3: made the whole damn thing up with their fake anonymous sources.
- 49:00Speaker 3: You make it up, You kind of make it up,
- 49:02Speaker 3: and then you get anybody to say, oh, yeah, yeah,
- 49:04Speaker 3: that's true, and it's probably not a good source, but
- 49:07Speaker 3: you claim it's a good source. You just you can
- 49:10Speaker 3: always find a bunch of crazy Democrats or Washington insiders
- 49:13Speaker 3: who hate the guy who will confirm it for you,
- 49:16Speaker 3: even though they don't know what they're talking about. So
- 49:18Speaker 3: this could be a hell of a lawsuit. Hey, the
- 49:20Speaker 3: White House Correspondence Dinner is Saturday night. For all of
- 49:28Speaker 3: his time in office, last time, in this time, President
- 49:30Speaker 3: Trump has never gone to the White House Correspondence dinner.
- 49:33Speaker 3: It's just the worst of the fake news and they
- 49:35Speaker 3: always attack him like crazy. Why should he go? So
- 49:38Speaker 3: this year he's going, first time ever this year he's going.
- 49:42Speaker 3: Now they've agreed not to have one of these crazy
- 49:44Speaker 3: left wing, angry comedians as the host as the featured entertainment. Instead,
- 49:49Speaker 3: they'll have Oz the Mentalist. He's pretty good and Trump
- 49:56Speaker 3: is a very experienced roaster. I mean, the guy did
- 49:59Speaker 3: it million Friar's roasts a million Comedy Central roast stole
- 50:03Speaker 3: the show at the Al Smith dinner last year. He
- 50:06Speaker 3: was amazing roasting everybody. So he's pretty good. But some
- 50:10Speaker 3: are saying, well, who knows, maybe the White House Correspondence,
- 50:13Speaker 3: maybe a lot of the top fake news anchors, maybe
- 50:16Speaker 3: these people won't show up. Why should they put themselves
- 50:19Speaker 3: in the line of fire at Donald Trump? And now
- 50:23Speaker 3: two hundred and fifty major news journalists have signed a letter,
- 50:28Speaker 3: including Dan Rather ninety four, Dan rathers ninety four, even
- 50:34Speaker 3: Sam Donaldson or old buddy Sam Donaldson ninety two signed
- 50:37Speaker 3: the letter. But two hundred and fifty major journalists signed
- 50:40Speaker 3: the letter demanding that at this dinner that the White
- 50:44Speaker 3: House Correspondence dinner that the press hold the president accountable.
- 50:50Speaker 3: In other words, they want him, They want the press
- 50:52Speaker 3: to go after him and hold him accountable. I don't know.
- 50:56Speaker 3: Maybe they're ninety four and their TV doesn't work anymore,
- 51:00Speaker 3: but I think the press is I think they've been
- 51:04Speaker 3: trying to attack him a little. Have you noticed the
- 51:07Speaker 3: last ten years the press ever attacking Donald Trump. I
- 51:10Speaker 3: think they're already on that. I don't think you have
- 51:11Speaker 3: to tell him that. Oh, I forgot the big story.
- 51:14Speaker 3: Guess who's running for city council. Lindsey Boylan. That was
- 51:18Speaker 3: one of the big Andrew Cuomo accused her. She was,
- 51:21Speaker 3: in fact, the first woman to accuse Cuomo of sexual harassment.
- 51:25Speaker 3: She's running for city council now. She's run before for
- 51:29Speaker 3: Congress for Manhattanboro president. Didn't do well. She lost, But
- 51:33Speaker 3: this time she got Mom Donnie's adortsment. You know, you
- 51:37Speaker 3: gotta figure Mom Donnie hates Cuomo, so he's endorsing her.
- 51:41Speaker 3: So this Remember Cuomo did so much damage to New
- 51:45Speaker 3: York with his no bail, no jail, with his closing
- 51:47Speaker 3: Indian Point, with his closing prisons, letting all the prisoners out.
- 51:51Speaker 3: He's the guy that came up with this pieda tear attacks.
- 51:53Speaker 3: He was just did so much damage as governor, and
- 51:56Speaker 3: then all of his sexual harassment accusers. So she's running
- 51:59Speaker 3: for city councils. That may bring this whole thing up again.
- 52:03Speaker 3: But with mom Donnie's endorsements, got a good shadow winning
- 52:06Speaker 3: pretty interesting. Hey, we'll take some calls next. Eight hundred
- 52:10Speaker 3: three to two one zero seven ten. Is the number
- 52:13Speaker 3: eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten, Mark
- 52:16Speaker 3: simone on sevent ten wor one. Well, let's take some calls.
- 52:23Speaker 3: Let's go to Alice in spring leg Alice, how you
- 52:26Speaker 3: doing good?
- 52:28Speaker 4: How are you?
- 52:29Speaker 3: Let me check?
- 52:30Speaker 2: Not bad, not bad, But listen, I just want to
- 52:34Speaker 2: tell you when I was, oh, in my teams back
- 52:39Speaker 2: in the late forties or early fifties. Yeah, I'm ninety
- 52:42Speaker 2: two right now.
- 52:43Speaker 3: Ninety two perfect, right our target demo. There you go. Perfect.
- 52:48Speaker 3: But anyway, this explain all the flem God go ahead.
- 52:55Speaker 3: Oh you sound like a nice woman out lot.
- 52:58Speaker 2: The pasture of our church of Catholic Church. How do
- 53:02Speaker 2: us come to a meeting where this former FBI, well
- 53:06Speaker 2: he was an FBI agent, but he is in a
- 53:09Speaker 2: former mole in the Communist Party uh. And he told
- 53:14Speaker 2: us that this is going to happen, that the communists,
- 53:18Speaker 2: they're not taking their time, but eventually they're going to
- 53:21Speaker 2: get into the newspapers, the schools, the churches.
- 53:26Speaker 3: Well crazy, what kind of crazy church are you going to?
- 53:30Speaker 3: This was the same speech they made in the nineteen fifties.
- 53:33Speaker 3: This is what McCarthy used to say.
- 53:36Speaker 2: Well, this this FBI agent was a former mole in
- 53:41Speaker 2: the communist body, and he said, this is what's going
- 53:43Speaker 2: to happen eventually into our country.
- 53:45Speaker 3: Alice, I don't want you to worry. You've been around
- 53:48Speaker 3: a while. They were saying this alter the nineteen fifties, sixties, seventies, eighties,
- 53:52Speaker 3: nineth So far we're okay, No, we're hey, boughs. These communists.
- 53:58Speaker 3: Watch these communists try to get the spring. Once they
- 54:00Speaker 3: see this traffic, they'll turn around and give up. They'll
- 54:03Speaker 3: go somewhere else. Well, Alice, you're a nice woman. Call
- 54:05Speaker 3: us again, Call us again sometime. Let's go to Mike
- 54:09Speaker 3: and Florida. Mike, how you doing, Good morning, Mark, that's Mike.
- 54:13Speaker 4: You know.
- 54:13Speaker 6: Another part of the equation they leap out when they're
- 54:16Speaker 6: talking about the billionaires not paying their fair share is
- 54:18Speaker 6: they just talk about their personal income tax. This corporate
- 54:21Speaker 6: income tax. There's the corporate tax of all the other
- 54:25Speaker 6: corporations that they employ. This bill, I mean it's trillions. Good,
- 54:29Speaker 6: it amounts too and one what point? The other thing
- 54:32Speaker 6: that Mandani has a lot of nerve is he makes
- 54:35Speaker 6: two hundred and sixty thousand a year. He doesn't pay rent.
- 54:37Speaker 6: You know who, He's making more money than everybody just
- 54:40Speaker 6: about is how.
- 54:42Speaker 3: Much of them?
- 54:42Speaker 4: Is that?
- 54:42Speaker 3: How much the mayor makes two hundred and.
- 54:44Speaker 6: Sixty Yeah, and he doesn't pay rent. He doesn't have
- 54:47Speaker 6: to pay for transportation. I'm sure you know groceries are
- 54:50Speaker 6: probably on the house.
- 54:52Speaker 3: You know that's true. Yeah, they feed you for free.
- 54:55Speaker 3: Yeah that's true. Yeah, good point. All right, thanks for Carlin.
- 54:58Speaker 3: Let's go to h Tony in White Planes. Tony, how
- 55:01Speaker 3: you doing?
- 55:03Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 55:03Speaker 14: Good Mark?
- 55:03Speaker 15: Mark, Maybe you can answer this. I don't understand something
- 55:06Speaker 15: Trump says, I if the Uranians don't agree, you know,
- 55:10Speaker 15: to the treaty and all of that, that he's gonna
- 55:12Speaker 15: built the bridges and all that. Well, didn't they do
- 55:14Speaker 15: that before? What's gonna happen? They put their people around here.
- 55:18Speaker 3: Well, we took out one bridge. It was the newest,
- 55:20Speaker 3: most expensive bridge they had. And the reason we took
- 55:23Speaker 3: that out it was only being used for military purpose
- 55:26Speaker 3: is it was being used to transport troops and weapons.
- 55:29Speaker 3: But if we have to, we'll start taking out bridges.
- 55:31Speaker 3: And by the way, you're gonna hear war crimes. They're
- 55:33Speaker 3: gonna yell war crimes. Every war we've ever fought, we
- 55:38Speaker 3: took out bridges and power plants, usually day one, both
- 55:41Speaker 3: Iraq wars. That's what we did the first day, took
- 55:43Speaker 3: out bridges and power plants. You know that crazy Senator
- 55:46Speaker 3: Mark Kelly who's on TV yelling about war crimes. He
- 55:51Speaker 3: also brags that he was a combat pilot and in
- 55:54Speaker 3: the war in Iraq. Well, that's what he did as
- 55:56Speaker 3: a combat pilot, took out bridges and power plants. But
- 55:59Speaker 3: it's perfectly normal. Let's go to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent,
- 56:03Speaker 3: how you doing.
- 56:04Speaker 14: Good morning, Mark, Good morning Mara. Mike from Florida. Forgot
- 56:08Speaker 14: to mention that these billionaires who own these companies, they
- 56:12Speaker 14: employ hundreds of thousands of workers who also contribute to
- 56:17Speaker 14: the tax base. If these billionaires didn't start these businesses,
- 56:21Speaker 14: you wouldn't have these workers their lives wouldn't be improven
- 56:25Speaker 14: and they wouldn't add to the tax base. Beaver Face
- 56:28Speaker 14: Mandami and Katy Holcom are so disingenuous. They make it
- 56:35Speaker 14: sound like these people who have these second homes are
- 56:40Speaker 14: feeding at the public trust like they are. The New
- 56:43Speaker 14: York posted an expose a they didn't give the address
- 56:47Speaker 14: of it's probably a co op, a second home in
- 56:51Speaker 14: the village that was worked just five million dollars. That's
- 56:56Speaker 14: it sussessed value. They went into the Department of Finding
- 56:59Speaker 14: it's records that person who owns that co op, it's
- 57:04Speaker 14: not even a whole building, pays eighty four thousand dollars
- 57:09Speaker 14: a year in taxes. And when most people don't know,
- 57:14Speaker 14: and I know this because I'm involved in real estate,
- 57:17Speaker 14: if it's your second home, you don't get any considerations,
- 57:22Speaker 14: like if it's your primary, your primary home, you don't
- 57:26Speaker 14: pay as much in school taxes, et cetera, et cetera.
- 57:32Speaker 14: Hopeful talks about them using up resources. The second home
- 57:36Speaker 14: uses less resources because they're not there. They're not paying water.
- 57:41Speaker 14: They don't have to pay water because they're not using it.
- 57:44Speaker 14: They have to.
- 57:45Speaker 3: Pay point ncent. Excellent call, Very good, Thanks for con Yeah,
- 57:50Speaker 3: Ken Griffin doesn't even live in that house over there,
- 57:52Speaker 3: that apartment two hundred twenty million. He's here three days
- 57:55Speaker 3: a year. And you know what its property taxes in
- 57:58Speaker 3: the department right now, hundred and seventy thousand. It's almost
- 58:01Speaker 3: a million dollars a year just in property text on
- 58:04Speaker 3: that one apartment. Hey, when we come back, Charlie Gasparino
- 58:07Speaker 3: will be with us, the great business reporter, the author
- 58:09Speaker 3: of the great book, Go Woke, Go Broke. When is
- 58:13Speaker 3: all this woke, crazy COMI stuff gonna end? We'll ask
- 58:16Speaker 3: him next on seven to ten wr give wor O
- 58:21Speaker 3: pre said on the iHeartRadio app to hear.
- 58:24Speaker 15: Mark Simone and all the woor hosts in an instance,
- 58:28Speaker 15: now back to the Mark Simon show on wor Well.
- 58:33Speaker 3: Charlie Gasprino is the best business reporter around. You can
- 58:38Speaker 3: read also his great column His columns are all on
- 58:40Speaker 3: the New York Post website. You should follow him on Twitter.
- 58:43Speaker 3: He's one of the best reacts. He's one of the
- 58:46Speaker 3: best exers tweeters out there. And I urge you to
- 58:49Speaker 3: get his latest book, Go Woke, Go Broke. It's a
- 58:52Speaker 3: very important book. Go Woke, Go Broke, Go to Amazon,
- 58:56Speaker 3: order it right now. Charlie Gasparino, how are you doing?
- 59:00Speaker 4: Are you doing? Mark?
- 59:01Speaker 3: Very good? So your friend mom Donnie there, did you
- 59:04Speaker 3: hear that crazy thing he said?
- 59:06Speaker 5: I don't think that we should have billionaires.
- 59:09Speaker 3: We shouldn't have billionaires. You know, all these billionaires, how
- 59:13Speaker 3: are they going to get through four years of this guy?
- 59:18Speaker 4: You know, I don't know. I mean half of me
- 59:20Speaker 4: thinks that they're just going to leave, and as they've
- 59:26Speaker 4: been as not just billionaires, but remember, you know, the
- 59:30Speaker 4: tax base is comprised of a lot of people that
- 59:33Speaker 4: do well, not quite billionaires, and they're just finding it
- 59:37Speaker 4: much more affordable not to be New York City residents.
- 59:40Speaker 4: And that's been going on since twenty twenty and it
- 59:43Speaker 4: continues to this day. Remember or you know, when you
- 59:49Speaker 4: talk about billionaires, they do have theoretically the money to
- 59:53Speaker 4: pay some of these taxes. I mean, they're billionaires, right.
- 59:56Speaker 4: The real problem here is That's why I'm you know, this,
- 59:59Speaker 4: this debate is a little bit skewed because the reality
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: of the New York City, what Mandami's doing, what they
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: do in Albany, and what they've been doing for years,
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: you know, since mainly since George the takif.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: Left Albany has been.
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: Essentially focusing on the sort of the vast middle of
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: the wealthy population, people who make anywhere between one hundred
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: thousand dollars a year, which isn't really wealthy in the
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: Northeast anywhere from that to you know, several million dollars
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: a year, that's the sort of prime real estate for taxing.
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: And those people just get crushed in this city and
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: in the state. And what Mandami's doing is kind of
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: changing the subject. Oh, you know, these billionaires don't want
- 1:00:49Speaker 4: to pay for you know, an extra house in Manhattan.
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: It's it's not really that. I mean, you know, that's
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: not that's not great policy. But put that aside.
- 1:00:58Speaker 14: The tax thing.
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: I mean, it's really those people that pay most of
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: taxes are in that range that I told you, and
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: they're getting slaughtered in the city and state, and they
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: continue to get slaughtered because people like Mandami and you know,
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: the Governor's you know, I mean, listen, Andrew Croma was
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: would have been a better alternative toy.
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: Oh come on, well, no bail, no jail with his
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: he's the guy that he's the guy that created this
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: pie terror tax. It was his idea.
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: Listen, I know that, I know, but he was still
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: would have been better than my daughter. But but I'm
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: just saying that. You know, my point is with him
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: is that he caved to the radical left of the
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: of the of of of the ruling class of the state.
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: Remember all the taxes that he imposed, particularly the last term,
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: he was horrendous. There was money that he needed, he
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: didn't need to increase taxes, and it could could have
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: taken down the size of government. So you know that
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: the party. The problem is, you got one party control
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: the state and it's it's destroying it. I think we
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: should do I mean, I argue this during the campaign.
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: You know, let him win, let him destroy the place
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: and just move. Let's just start from zero.
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: Well, but we don't want to leave. You're not gonna move,
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: are you? You can't leave the.
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: I'm one foot out the door.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: What you can't believe?
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: You're like, I am gonna leaves? Why should I pay
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: into this? This is insane, you know, I mean, I get,
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: I get. I guess there is a business in complaining
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: about mond. I was just reading that. I was I
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: was reading Kyle Uh Kyle Smith. He's a really good writer.
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: He writes for the National Review. He writes for the
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: Journal about just how much column inches Mondai inspires from
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: critics and people and the lefties who like in the
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: in journalism. So there is a sort of business for
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: you and I to to tap into. I think if
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: we stay the loyal opposite. But in reality, is it
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: worth the money that you're paying into this and to
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: listen to this idiot every day? I mean either, I mean,
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: schmuck doesn't even begin to describe.
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: All Right, Hey, once again, everybody get Charlie Gasprino's book,
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: Go Woke, Go Broke. It's a great book. Hey, also,
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: you wrote the best book ever on Steve Cohen years ago.
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: He now owns the Mets. You know about this controversy
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: about mister Met hugging and kissing mom Donnie, and since
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: that day they've lost eleven in a row. You think
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: maybe you better send that book Go Woke, Go Broke
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: over to mister Met.
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: Well, you know what I don't, I mean, I can't
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: imagine Steve Cohen got directly involved in telling mister Met
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: to you know, kiss it out with hug it out
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: with Bond. You know. My guess is like it was
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: just an actor who didn't know what to do. And
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: I don't think it has anything to do with the
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: Mets losing well the other issues involved.
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: Hey I met mister Mett. You probably did too. He
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: shakes your hand, he doesn't hug you and kiss you.
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: I mean that was a little Yeah, yeah, I know.
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: I mean, who knows who is underneath the clothing? Do
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: we know who this person is?
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: Probably Steve Cohen, who knows who was?
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: No?
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: No, yeah, listen, I I you know, listen, I mean
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: I read it. I saw I've been reading the commentary
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: on the Mets losing streak after that. You know, could
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: it be possible it was just one over zealous actor
- 1:04:35Speaker 4: who plays mister.
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: Med Yeah, that's possible. But uh, a lot of people
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: our buddy Sid pointing out, a lot of people pointing.
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: Out I saw Sid sim rosebarg Glass. I saw the stuff.
- 1:04:48Speaker 4: He was wearing a Yankees uniform, and I love the
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: Yankees too. I mean, you know, you know, you know
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: one thing I will say about the Yankees Randy Levine,
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: who was like kind of on the business side of that. Yeah,
- 1:04:59Speaker 4: he runs a very very tight ship in sense like
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: you go to the game. It's a game. We don't
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: you cheer the Yankees. There's not a lot of there's
- 1:05:09Speaker 4: no politics, you know, you just go there. I mean,
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: you know, it's it's a second experience, and I think
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: sports should get back to that. Yeah, you know, you know,
- 1:05:19Speaker 4: no more bad bunnies and halftime and maybe you know,
- 1:05:22Speaker 4: alert mister Met you know, shake the guy's hand, don't
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: up against them.
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: Hey about it, Charlie Gasprino, you wrote the book on
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: Steve Cohen. I think it's called Circle of Friends. And
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: he's a brilliant business guy with the hedge funnel that,
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: But is he in over his head as a sports owner?
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: I mean, what's going on with him in the Mets?
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: I don't know. I mean, you know, it's listen, it's
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: it's not easy getting a you know, running a baseball team,
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: and it's you know, it's two sides of the coin.
- 1:05:53Speaker 4: It's the business side and it's putting a team on
- 1:05:56Speaker 4: the field that can win. And uh, you know, I
- 1:06:02Speaker 4: don't how much is he involved in the in the
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: selecting players. Doesn't he have people around him that to
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: do that? I mean you would think, yeah, but.
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: You know, you know him better than anybody. But what
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: those guys always like to poke their nose into everything.
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: But I mean, look, he's a really smart guy. I
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: can't imagine. Although you know, the people he replaced weren't
- 1:06:23Speaker 4: that great, right, remember.
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: Will Yeah, they were nice people. But you're right, all right.
- 1:06:30Speaker 4: I mean I think I think we actually traded up
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: with STEVIEE. Cohen.
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: I think you won that round yet. So and there
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: were great people of Willpons. But were they Fred Willpond
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: nicest guy in the world. Yeah, very sweet. Really.
- 1:06:46Speaker 4: I never met him, but I know I might have
- 1:06:49Speaker 4: met him once. He was on the board of bear Stearns.
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: I think I did beat him one. Yeah, so I talked.
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: I interviewed his son once too.
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: Yeah, Jeff Will great guy.
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:06:59Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: So they didn't do much for the team though.
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: No, but uh I can't argue that. Uh hey, this
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: go Walke go broke stuff? When does it? Does it
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: turn around? At some point? Like are we going to
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: wake up in November and elect Bruce Blake? I'm going
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: to get a real governor? I think can that happen?
- 1:07:19Speaker 4: You know? Mark? This is my point. So many people
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: have left this city that I don't think. I think
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: you and I are and maybe Bruce, Well, I know,
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: and I really like we might be so much in
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: the minority. We there's it's impossible to win in this state.
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: We'll see. I mean, you know, the ruling class here
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: is so inept and so stupid, and they're they're literally
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: chasing everybody that wants to work out. I can't leave,
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: you know, some people can't leave. It's it's you're right,
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: it's a little difficult for me to leave since I
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: worked for Fox, I worked for the Post. You know,
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: it's hard for me to set up shop in Florida. Yeah,
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: maybe I get to become part of the Miami Bureau
- 1:08:04Speaker 4: of the Post or something like that. That wou'd be great,
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: But you know, so so many people have left the
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: city and the state. It's I don't know if there's
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: enough people to vote for him that are left. So
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: many people, you know, you know, if you look at
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: who you know who votes Democratic, it's all these you know,
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: these public sector unions, which are it's a huge employer
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: in this in the city and state, so they you know, automatically,
- 1:08:31Speaker 4: when you're a Democrat, you start off with like forty
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: five percent of the vote, right, I mean almost they
- 1:08:38Speaker 4: get out the vote. So I'm just wondering if if
- 1:08:40Speaker 4: it's just an impossibility, and it's kind of scary to
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: think that.
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: Yeah, but you know, Nassau County had the same exodus
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: and it's a majority Democratic county. Blakeman has won there twice.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: He's pulled it off twice.
- 1:08:53Speaker 4: Yeah, No, it's it's true. You know, the Democratic Party
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: is starting to bifur kate two a little bit from
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: the I mean, people forget this. There are a lot
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: of like moderate Democrats. There are no longer Democrats because
- 1:09:06Speaker 4: of the because of the looney tunes that run the show,
- 1:09:09Speaker 4: the far left. So there there is that, you know
- 1:09:13Speaker 4: what I'm saying, And and and moderate Republicans picked that
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: up every day. I mean, listen, you know I see
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: it all the time. You know, moderate moderate Democrats saying,
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: you know, maybe Trump isn't so crazy for going after
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: the Ayatola, you know, and that the Mullahs. Maybe maybe
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: this is a good thing that he's finally taking these
- 1:09:35Speaker 4: in and the rear ends out. You know, these guys
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: that are murderous thugs that you know, can control the
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: world's oil supply, you know, with with a drune. You know,
- 1:09:45Speaker 4: maybe he's maybe finally someone bit the bullet. I'm hearing
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: that a lot from moderate Democrats, believe it or not,
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: and that could be where Bruce wins, But I I
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: don't know. So many people have left, you know, don't
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: want to get out, and and and then you know,
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: even if he does win, you know, the legislature is
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: controlled by just wackos, you know, I mean, they're just
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: they're have you seen some of these people?
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: Yeah, but again, same thing in Nasa County. He's worked
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: his way around that problem too.
- 1:10:16Speaker 4: But well, I mean, you got a lot of power.
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: Its governor, right, but it's still not easy. And I
- 1:10:22Speaker 4: think he is elected. He won't make the mistakes that
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: Cuomo did. Clomo gazed into those guys time and time again.
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: Towards the end. I think Bruce would take the fight
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: to them, which would be a good thing. Well, and
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: he will pardon this poor cop that is gonna jail
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: for me.
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: He'll do a lot of great things. Day one to say, yeah,
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: we're out of time, but brilliant as always. Everybody, get

- 1:11:07Speaker 3: don't forget Curtis is back. Curtis Lee was now here

- 1:11:14Speaker 3: ten WR.
- 1:11:16Speaker 15: He's got the whole.
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: City in your radio Marximo on seven ten WR. Well, hey,
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: this is just breaking. We told you earlier that Atlantic magazine,
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: which used to be quite the respected and revered, very
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: prestigious magazine, has become just a left wing, absolute cook,
- 1:11:36Speaker 3: fake news rag of a magazine. Steve Job's widow bought
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: it and just decided to run it as a propaganda,
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: left wing sort of a magazine, The Atlantic, and they
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: went after Cash Betel with this big story claiming he
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: was a stinking drunk all the time, unexplained absences, a
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: drunk out of his mind. Well, he'd threatened to sue.
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: The suit has just been filed. He had filed a
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: two hundred and fifty million dollar lawsuit against the magazine
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: and the staff writer Sarah Fitzpatrick two hundred and fifty million.
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: The lawsuit will proceed. Now you're he's a public figure.
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: Tough to claim damages. Tougher when you're a public figure.
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: But it's pretty serious slander if it's not true. Uh,
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: and this will be interesting. The lawsuit has been filed.
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: It will proceed. Interesting stuff. Hey, we're out of time,
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: don't go away. Buck and Clay are coming up next
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: with an excellent show. I'm here every day ten to noon.
