- 0:07Speaker 1: The Season with Peter Schrager is a production of the
- 0:09Speaker 1: NFL in partnership with iHeartRadio.
- 0:28Speaker 2: All right, let's start with the Jets, because I'm New
- 0:30Speaker 2: York and I was the one who had the Jets
- 0:31Speaker 2: being the number one seed in the AFC before the
- 0:34Speaker 2: season started. And trust me, the viewers at home and
- 0:36Speaker 2: the fans on Twitter will let me know every single
- 0:38Speaker 2: time the Jets put out.
- 0:39Speaker 3: An effort like this, and that's okay, that's fine.
- 0:42Speaker 2: I think a lot of people did worse in the
- 0:43Speaker 2: political space predicting things than I do on the football space.
- 0:46Speaker 3: Already got me some grace here. Okay, here's what I'll say.
- 0:49Speaker 3: This Jets team.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Is really, really a treat if you're a sadist, and
- 0:53Speaker 2: the reason is because this team will either break your
- 0:58Speaker 2: heart with a crazy last second loss with unlikely missed
- 1:03Speaker 2: field goals and terrible penalties and does head scratch, or
- 1:07Speaker 2: they'll just get the doors blown off them. This was
- 1:10Speaker 2: the ladder of the two Yesterday. Jets had ten days
- 1:13Speaker 2: to prepare for this Cardinals offense, which I didn't realize
- 1:16Speaker 2: was the eighty four niners or the two thousand, you know, rams,
- 1:20Speaker 2: I had no idea that this was the version that
- 1:22Speaker 2: we were getting. Jets had all the Jets defense with
- 1:25Speaker 2: all these names, both Williams brothers and Sauce Gardner, who Hey,
- 1:29Speaker 2: saus if you want a contract, we might got a
- 1:32Speaker 2: practice tackling not golf. In the offseason, I saw a
- 1:34Speaker 2: funny commercial with him on Uber Eats and Jerry Rice
- 1:36Speaker 2: Glad Saws and Rice.
- 1:37Speaker 3: I'm glad. I like that. I'm glad.
- 1:39Speaker 2: I know I sound like I'm just like, you know,
- 1:41Speaker 2: a crazy sports radio caller in New York right now,
- 1:43Speaker 2: But I do feel like I was one of the
- 1:45Speaker 2: people out there who really believed, and I think I
- 1:48Speaker 2: got credibility. I've been covering this game for a long time,
- 1:50Speaker 2: and I was on the ground, and I really did
- 1:52Speaker 2: think that this season was salvageable, even as recently as
- 1:56Speaker 2: last week when they had the big fourth quarter in
- 1:59Speaker 2: the second half where Rogers threw three.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Touchdowns against the Texans.
- 2:02Speaker 2: The Jets defense came out in this game with a
- 2:04Speaker 2: defensive head coach, their second defensive head coach of this
- 2:07Speaker 2: same season, and they allowed seventy plus yard drives on
- 2:11Speaker 2: three of their first four defensive opportunities. The Cardinals just
- 2:15Speaker 2: went up and down the field, Rogers didn't have it.
- 2:18Speaker 3: The energy was lacking.
- 2:20Speaker 2: I don't know how to get the energy going. The
- 2:22Speaker 2: season is now over, like I don't. I don't think
- 2:25Speaker 2: there's I could do this again after another win.
- 2:27Speaker 3: And be like, well, look us look at the schedule
- 2:29Speaker 3: like it's over. And if you're a.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Jets fan, I'm not sure what's worse the last second
- 2:35Speaker 2: zerline miss in the rain at home against Denver or
- 2:39Speaker 2: these where you never were even competitive and never had
- 2:43Speaker 2: a shot.
- 2:44Speaker 3: It's a shame because I, amongst many.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Had such high expectations for this Jets team.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Really good week of rookie.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Performances in Week ten, but only five can make the
- 2:55Speaker 2: Fab five. This is the segment where we've list our
- 2:58Speaker 2: top five rookie performances of the week, and we start
- 3:01Speaker 2: off in Tampa Bay, where maybe the best story of
- 3:05Speaker 2: any rookie this seaar it is what Ricky Pearson. Let's
- 3:07Speaker 2: go Peter in San Francisco, Buccaneers Niners, Tom Brady on
- 3:11Speaker 2: the call, Kevin Burkhardt on the mic. Let's go to
- 3:14Speaker 2: the call of Ricky Piersoll's first NFL touchdown.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Here's Purty looking a rip. Oh Ke drovees Piersoll. Ricky
- 3:22Speaker 3: Piersall trying to pete his man at the end.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Zoey touchdown, San Francisco, Ricky Piersoll's first NFL score.
- 3:33Speaker 3: What a touchdown, throw, catch and run. This is exactly
- 3:38Speaker 3: what they want to do.
- 3:40Speaker 2: First round pick, getting action all over the field on Sunday.
- 3:45Speaker 2: He was a decisive factor in this game. Obviously, you
- 3:47Speaker 2: know his story. He was shot in training camp. He
- 3:51Speaker 2: has recovered, he's back, and he has been on the
- 3:54Speaker 2: field the last three games and has been truly a
- 3:56Speaker 2: difference maker. Christian McCaffrey returned to the field, but Ricky
- 4:00Speaker 2: Piersoll was the go to guy in big moments.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Look at some of these cool stats here.
- 4:04Speaker 2: If you talk about in the NFL's his the last
- 4:07Speaker 2: few years, like where does Ricky Piersoll really rank.
- 4:10Speaker 3: And where does he back it up? You look, if
- 4:12Speaker 3: you go.
- 4:13Speaker 2: For seventy scrimmage yards in each of the first two
- 4:15Speaker 2: starts as a rookie wide receiver, it's on a list
- 4:18Speaker 2: with Justin Jefferson, Puka Nakua, and Tank Dell as the
- 4:22Speaker 2: only other guys who have as many as Ricky Piersall
- 4:25Speaker 2: right out of the gates two starts been really good
- 4:27Speaker 2: for the Niners, and they need him. Number four, we're
- 4:29Speaker 2: going defense and we're going to a second round pick.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Out of the University of Iowa. Mister Cooper Dejen.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Eagles corner, all over the field, suffocating performance.
- 4:39Speaker 3: He's been on this list already.
- 4:41Speaker 2: How about this was targeted five times, gave up two
- 4:44Speaker 2: catches for five yards.
- 4:46Speaker 3: He also had a fumble recovery.
- 4:48Speaker 2: He also returned three punts and he had a thirty
- 4:51Speaker 2: one yard punt return. He's all over the field for
- 4:54Speaker 2: the Eagles. Cooper Dejen has been fantastic. Here's the big
- 4:58Speaker 2: punt return. Love me elusively. Love the way he takes
- 5:02Speaker 2: it out. And this is on a team that is
- 5:04Speaker 2: loaded with young defensive stars.
- 5:06Speaker 3: We met the earlier.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Nakobe Dean is stepping up, Jaalen Carter's all over the field,
- 5:09Speaker 2: Josh Sweat and of course Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper Dejen
- 5:13Speaker 2: are doing it. Love the way that this is it
- 5:15Speaker 2: the fubble recovery in the end zone where Zeke drops it.
- 5:18Speaker 3: But take a look at this. We have to get
- 5:20Speaker 3: a little bit great, a little of the weeds here.
- 5:22Speaker 2: But next Gen stats powered by our friends at Amazon
- 5:25Speaker 2: fewest yards per target allowed by a cornerback. This isn't
- 5:29Speaker 2: just rookies, guys, This is everybody. And Cooper dejen is
- 5:32Speaker 2: number one. That's defense. How about some offense. How about
- 5:37Speaker 2: a rookie wide receiver who has watched, as we've done,
- 5:40Speaker 2: flips over a lot of his brethren in the draft class.
- 5:43Speaker 2: We love Ricky Pearsol, and of course we love Malik Neighbors,
- 5:47Speaker 2: and we do the Robot Dunesday stuff, and we can.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Go on and on and on about these rookie wideouts.
- 5:52Speaker 3: How about the first one taken?
- 5:53Speaker 2: How about Marvin Harrison Junia Cardinals wide receiver. Take a
- 5:58Speaker 2: listen to Spirou Datus on the call.
- 6:01Speaker 3: For his big touchdown catch against the Jets. First in
- 6:05Speaker 3: gold torch again Monte the backfield, Mody near side to
- 6:09Speaker 3: Harrison over the shoulder touchdown. Watch Marvin Harrison Junior in
- 6:16Speaker 3: the slot. He has the entire sideline to work with.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Does that ball location get any better? He has taken
- 6:24Speaker 3: his game to the next level.
- 6:28Speaker 2: He's been so good and it's been so quiet because
- 6:30Speaker 2: he's playing for this Cardinals team that no one watches
- 6:33Speaker 2: every week.
- 6:34Speaker 3: This is after the game.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Fellow Ohio State Buckeye and him, Garrett Wilson.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Garrett was the offensive rookie of the year. Here he
- 6:40Speaker 3: is doing the jersey swap with Marvin Harrison.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Now it's interesting because Marvin Harrison Junr. Is still wearing
- 6:44Speaker 2: a jersey, so he must have another one on.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Yes, can't get the game? Warn, Nope, you look at
- 6:50Speaker 3: the game.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Warn, you get the extra you get the backup one.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Guys. You know he leads all rookies with six receiving
- 6:55Speaker 3: touchdowns this year. Like quietly, he's having an outstanding.
- 7:00Speaker 2: And take a look at this two of these guys
- 7:03Speaker 2: and Marvin Harrison Junior. He's out pacing his dad, who
- 7:06Speaker 2: of course was a Pro Football Hall of Famer.
- 7:09Speaker 3: That's number three. Number two, we go to New England.
- 7:13Speaker 3: Drake May step right up.
- 7:15Speaker 2: All right, you're above Caleb this week, you're above Jaden
- 7:18Speaker 2: Daniels this week, and you're above Bo Nicks this week.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Drake May makes the list out playing Caleb Williams in
- 7:24Speaker 2: a battle between the.
- 7:25Speaker 3: First and third overall picks. He had one hundred and eighty.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Four passing yards to touchdown interception. His stats are not
- 7:31Speaker 2: going to win you Fantasy league titles. However, he does
- 7:35Speaker 2: it all for the Patriots.
- 7:37Speaker 3: May is the first rookie with six.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Or more passing touchdowns and two hundred or more rushing
- 7:43Speaker 2: yards and his first five career starts.
- 7:45Speaker 3: Since nineteen fifty. Yes, bizarre stat Yet we have the
- 7:51Speaker 3: crew to bring it out here. Logar.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Guy Dante in research hits me up with this and
- 7:55Speaker 2: I'm like, yep, put it on a board.
- 7:57Speaker 3: First career spot starts.
- 7:59Speaker 2: It's nineteen fifty, it's McNabb, it's Jalen Hurts, and it's
- 8:03Speaker 2: Drake May who's got better numbers throwing the ball than
- 8:07Speaker 2: even those guys.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Drake May awesome performance.
- 8:10Speaker 2: He's our top rated quarterback, which leads to the number
- 8:12Speaker 2: one defensive looking of the week and maybe the number
- 8:16Speaker 2: one defensive player of the week this week. Eagles corner
- 8:19Speaker 2: and first round pick, the pride of the mac Quinion Mitchell,
- 8:22Speaker 2: step right up here. Quinion Mitchell gets our number one
- 8:26Speaker 2: pole position here. Unbelievable game for Quinnion twenty eight snaps,
- 8:33Speaker 2: was only thrown two four times and gave.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Up fourteen yards.
- 8:37Speaker 2: He has not allowed more than twenty five yards in
- 8:41Speaker 2: a game since the Eagles went on their by that's five.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Games he has been lockdown. You watch him. He's covering
- 8:49Speaker 3: Ceedee lamb.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Yep, He's covering everybody that they've got, and he is
- 8:53Speaker 2: the guy.
- 8:54Speaker 3: He is holding number.
- 8:55Speaker 2: One wide receivers to a minimum. Look at him on
- 8:58Speaker 2: these plays here, Yeah, you can have the catch. I'm
- 9:00Speaker 2: gonnatack you right away. You look at Quinion Mitchell in.
- 9:02Speaker 3: Coverage, all right. These are the numbers. Not again.
- 9:06Speaker 2: It's like Wonder Taper against the entire teams. Four targets,
- 9:10Speaker 2: three targets, three targets, four targets.
- 9:11Speaker 3: That throwing everywhere but him, and we respect that.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Queneon Mitchell making a case for his name to be
- 9:18Speaker 2: mentioned with Jared Vers and defensive Rookie of the Year conversations.
- 9:22Speaker 3: He is a Mac player.
- 9:23Speaker 2: He came out of the draft said he wants to
- 9:25Speaker 2: be the greatest Mac player to ever play in the league. Guys,
- 9:28Speaker 2: Ben Roethlisberger was from the Mac, Antonio Brown was from
- 9:31Speaker 2: the Mac.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Quenion Mitchell wants to be that, dude.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Here we go Schrager's fabulous five for Week ten.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Here is our list.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Quinion Mitchell one, Drake May two, Marvin Harrison three Cooper.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Dejan So you have two Eagles corners, Yeah, one and
- 9:49Speaker 3: four and the Ricky parasol five. Kyle, I'm gonna take
- 9:52Speaker 3: a breath, you go, what are you getting?
- 9:54Speaker 1: Quick breath?
- 9:54Speaker 3: Peter, I'm going right back to you. Did you or
- 9:56Speaker 3: did you not?
- 9:58Speaker 4: Kick a beehive on Twitter over the weekend as it
- 10:00Speaker 4: pertains who should win Rookie of the Year, and you
- 10:02Speaker 4: came out strong for Jared Verse.
- 10:03Speaker 3: How'd that go? I said?
- 10:04Speaker 2: Jared Vers is already hands down anonymous like Micah Parsons style.
- 10:08Speaker 2: I did that Monday night after a big sack and
- 10:10Speaker 2: fumble forced fumble, and the Eagles fan base came out
- 10:14Speaker 2: in droves, and I mean, like thousands of tweets being like, oh, well,
- 10:18Speaker 2: you don't watch quinney On Mitchell every week. You watch
- 10:20Speaker 2: the box score, and you do fantasy football, but you
- 10:22Speaker 2: don't watch Quinny On Mitchell.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Quiny On Mitchell's not being thrown at right now. So Kyle, I.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Put the poll up there, versus winning in a poll.
- 10:28Speaker 2: But it's between those two guys right now, Jared versus
- 10:31Speaker 2: Quinyon Mitchell the best defensive rookies of the season. All right, everybody,
- 10:49Speaker 2: it's time for Tragger's NFL Trivia. It's a Thursday morning.
- 10:52Speaker 2: We've got so many contestants. We've got America, We've got
- 10:55Speaker 2: a great, great week ahead of us. Yes, and we
- 10:58Speaker 2: have one of the best slates of NFL football you
- 11:01Speaker 2: could imagine for a Week eleven campaign.
- 11:04Speaker 3: We took about good matchups.
- 11:06Speaker 2: We got Tonight's of course, we've got Raven Steelers, We've
- 11:08Speaker 2: got Bill's Chiefs, and of course at night you got
- 11:10Speaker 2: Bengals versus Chargers. There are so many good games, but
- 11:14Speaker 2: we can only ask five questions. Achbar, are you ready
- 11:17Speaker 2: to start us off in Week eleven?
- 11:19Speaker 1: Come on?
- 11:20Speaker 3: Actually I'm not.
- 11:21Speaker 5: I get nervous every single time.
- 11:22Speaker 3: But let's go there. Let's do it. Let's do it.
- 11:25Speaker 6: Confidence, don't be nervous, Okay, all right.
- 11:27Speaker 2: This Bill's Chiefs game obviously has history with Josh Allen
- 11:31Speaker 2: and Mahomes, but it will mark the game with the
- 11:33Speaker 2: best combined records of two opponents heading into a Week
- 11:37Speaker 2: eleven game since the legendary twenty eighteen Rams Chiefs Monday
- 11:43Speaker 2: Night football game that was played out at the Coliseum. Now,
- 11:46Speaker 2: that legendary twenty eighteen Rams.
- 11:49Speaker 3: Chiefs Monday Night football game.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Which was fifty four to fifty one, the final play
- 11:54Speaker 2: of that game was what achbar A A walk off
- 12:00Speaker 2: Gerald Everett Rams touchdown catch, b A walk off Tyreek
- 12:05Speaker 2: Hilch Chief's touchdown catch, see A LaMarcus Joiner rams game
- 12:12Speaker 2: ceiling interception or D Did it end with Aaron Donald's
- 12:16Speaker 2: stuffing Travis Kelcey at the one yard line. The final
- 12:18Speaker 2: score was fifty four to fifty one. They played it
- 12:22Speaker 2: on a Monday night at the coliseum, Mahomes and golf.
- 12:25Speaker 3: How did it end?
- 12:26Speaker 2: Oh?
- 12:26Speaker 6: Wow?
- 12:27Speaker 5: I remember that that was such a big deal, but
- 12:30Speaker 5: I don't remember the last play. I just you gotta
- 12:33Speaker 5: go Tyreek Hill. Chiefs took touchdown catch, so I'm gonna
- 12:36Speaker 5: go there. I'm gonna go b D with Tyreek Hill.
- 12:39Speaker 5: Can't go wrong with that.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Okay, it was it was Mahomes, it was golf, but
- 12:44Speaker 2: it was defense that ended this thing.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Let's toss to the cliff one deep, four second s cleft.
- 12:53Speaker 6: Mahomes, he escapes that, then launches it downfields and it's
- 12:59Speaker 6: intercepted by Choyer.
- 13:04Speaker 3: That's a young Sean McVeigh.
- 13:06Speaker 2: It was intended for Tyreek Hill, but it was LaMarcus
- 13:09Speaker 2: Joiner with the game ceiling interception.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Can give you some numbers here.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Rock Bump Mahomes finished with four hundred and seventy eight
- 13:15Speaker 2: passing yards and six touchdowns that night. Meanwhile, Jared Golf
- 13:20Speaker 2: went for four hundred and thirteen passing yards and four
- 13:23Speaker 2: touchdowns that night.
- 13:25Speaker 3: One of the greatest games this league has ever seen.
- 13:27Speaker 2: And now we have two teams, the Bills and the Chiefs,
- 13:30Speaker 2: that have the same type of records as those Rams
- 13:33Speaker 2: and Chiefs teams did when they played on Monday Night
- 13:35Speaker 2: that year.
- 13:35Speaker 3: All right, Jamie, are you ready, Yes, Jamie, get us
- 13:40Speaker 3: on the board.
- 13:42Speaker 2: The Ravens and the Steelers have played each other a
- 13:45Speaker 2: total of sixty times in twenty nine years if you
- 13:49Speaker 2: include their playoff matchup sixty times. We always think of
- 13:52Speaker 2: the quarterbacks, but really it's been about the defense. The
- 13:56Speaker 2: all time leader in sacks in the Raven Steelers series
- 14:02Speaker 2: is whom A Terrell.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Suggs be, James Harrison, C. TJ. Watt or d ray Lewis.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Again, sixty times these two franchises have played.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Who said the most sacks in those games?
- 14:15Speaker 6: Wow?
- 14:16Speaker 7: First of all, the fact that these guys have all
- 14:17Speaker 7: played within the last twenty years is like just means
- 14:20Speaker 7: how good the their defenses have been between the two teams,
- 14:22Speaker 7: So this is really fun. T Sizzle after Roethlisberger, going
- 14:27Speaker 7: after Roethlisberger.
- 14:28Speaker 3: I just don't have a.
- 14:29Speaker 7: Memory of this era of defense for the Ravens despite
- 14:32Speaker 7: being so good, just like getting after the Steelers that
- 14:35Speaker 7: way in a dominant fashion.
- 14:36Speaker 3: So I'm gonna.
- 14:37Speaker 7: Eliminate Soggs and Lewis. So I'm gonna go with the
- 14:40Speaker 7: Steelers player is gonna do this only because Roethlisberger stayed
- 14:43Speaker 7: up or he wanted bone.
- 14:44Speaker 3: So I'm just gonna lean.
- 14:46Speaker 7: Into the recency bias because t J. Watt's an animal,
- 14:48Speaker 7: and it would be kind of fun because it means
- 14:52Speaker 7: he could keep talllying it and then it would be
- 14:54Speaker 7: like a runaway, So why not. I'll just say the
- 14:56Speaker 7: current player.
- 14:57Speaker 3: Okay, so you're going to t J. Watts.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Wow. I'll preface this by saying there's gonna be a
- 15:01Speaker 2: lot of arguments about why Eli Manning should be a
- 15:03Speaker 2: first ballot Hall of Famer coming up. Uh huh. I'm
- 15:05Speaker 2: gonna make my ar argument for the correct answer on
- 15:07Speaker 2: this one. The correct answer is a Terrell Suggs T Sizzle.
- 15:11Speaker 2: T Sizzle has the most sacks in this rivalry twenty sacks.
- 15:16Speaker 2: He's also the all time franchise leader in sacks with
- 15:20Speaker 2: one hundred and thirty two and a half.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Oh my god, the Ravens.
- 15:24Speaker 2: One of the great NFL players of his generation. Tissle
- 15:28Speaker 2: a Defensive Player of the Year, a defensive Rookie of
- 15:30Speaker 2: the Year, and has the most sacks ever in this series.
- 15:35Speaker 6: Gee wow, this year.
- 15:36Speaker 3: This year, this here. I think first, I think, so
- 15:39Speaker 3: it's pretty cool. That's my argument. First, First, Balco, there's
- 15:43Speaker 3: the list. Okay, yeah, Lamar Woodley on that list. We
- 15:46Speaker 3: love Lamar.
- 15:47Speaker 2: He had a show an NFL Network where he took
- 15:49Speaker 2: us around and showed us cool.
- 15:50Speaker 3: Car ride My right, Mike, Man, we love you and
- 15:57Speaker 3: all right, man, Tie Mat tell you ready, buddy, come on?
- 16:00Speaker 3: Oh for two guys, let's go, man time on. Okay,
- 16:02Speaker 3: give me a layup, Peter.
- 16:03Speaker 2: When we think of when we think of great rivalries
- 16:06Speaker 2: and sports, we think of Browns and Saints.
- 16:08Speaker 3: They play on Sunday.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Also, Man, Tie, in twenty eighteen, you played in this game.
- 16:14Speaker 2: The Saints beat the Browns twenty one to eighteen in
- 16:17Speaker 2: the final seconds of the game with a Will LUTs
- 16:20Speaker 2: walk off field goal, and that field goal marked.
- 16:24Speaker 3: The nineteenth straight loss for.
- 16:27Speaker 2: The Cleveland Browns. They went into the super Dome. They
- 16:29Speaker 2: took you guys to the wire, but Will Lut's hit a.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Field goal at the end to win twenty one to eighteen.
- 16:34Speaker 2: My question to you is who started at quarterback for
- 16:38Speaker 2: the Browns in this Week two game that you played
- 16:42Speaker 2: in and you guys won on that field goal? Was
- 16:45Speaker 2: it a I got us guys, Baker Mayfield, b Austin Davis,
- 16:50Speaker 2: C Tyrod Taylor or d Johnny Football Johnny Manziel nineteen
- 16:55Speaker 2: straight losses for the Browns?
- 16:57Speaker 3: Who was the quarterback that day?
- 16:59Speaker 6: I do remember this game Vividlygue guys, and I made
- 17:01Speaker 6: a couple plays in his game. But I remember this
- 17:04Speaker 6: quarterback can a bomb?
- 17:06Speaker 3: Who I believe it was Callaway in this game. It's
- 17:10Speaker 3: Antonio Callaway.
- 17:12Speaker 6: Yes, I am going Peter C. Tyrod Taylor.
- 17:16Speaker 3: You're right, You're right.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Yet you know that they had drafted Baker, but they
- 17:24Speaker 2: started Tyron for the first couple of weeks. They lost
- 17:27Speaker 2: all these games under Hugh Jackson. They rolled out and
- 17:29Speaker 2: Tyrod was the starting quarterback for this one. Two hundred
- 17:33Speaker 2: and forty six yards a touchdown interception, but Manti, your Saints,
- 17:37Speaker 2: Your Saints got the best of the Browns that day.
- 17:40Speaker 3: And you, you, my friend, you had four tackles in
- 17:43Speaker 3: the win. Yes, just for I love it. I'm not say, guys, okay,
- 17:48Speaker 3: I'm not.
- 17:49Speaker 4: I'm not going going.
- 17:53Speaker 2: For twenty tackles, five sacks. Interceptions that I just watched
- 17:56Speaker 2: we got.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Too wrong one right, so I could, I could tie us,
- 17:59Speaker 4: I could tie it up.
- 18:00Speaker 3: I got Let's okay, let's go some questions from the nineties.
- 18:03Speaker 5: Let's go.
- 18:03Speaker 3: We're going further than that.
- 18:05Speaker 2: The Bengals and the Chargers played in the coldest playoff
- 18:08Speaker 2: game of all time. It's called the Freezer Bawl. It
- 18:11Speaker 2: was the AFC Championship game. It happened in January of
- 18:14Speaker 2: nineteen eighty two. Let's watch the opening of that game's
- 18:17Speaker 2: broadcast January eighty two.
- 18:20Speaker 6: Hello everyone, de Kendrick with Merlin Olson in Cincinnati.
- 18:23Speaker 4: Just simply the meteorologists put it this way, it's gone
- 18:26Speaker 4: from better cold to brutally cold.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Did you ever play anything like it?
- 18:30Speaker 6: I didn't play in this colder weather.
- 18:32Speaker 3: I played in some cold games, deck, but nothing to
- 18:34Speaker 3: match this minus fifty nine to day. Awesome, so good
- 18:38Speaker 3: they're rubbing the ball. Merlin Olson never played in it.
- 18:40Speaker 3: That's amazing minus fifty nine degrees.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Air temperature was nine as nine degrees.
- 18:46Speaker 3: Of course there was Winchell.
- 18:46Speaker 2: There was also a wind of twenty seven miles per
- 18:48Speaker 2: hour that day. The Bengals would win twenty seven to seven.
- 18:52Speaker 2: But Kyle, I'm not asking you about the game. You
- 18:54Speaker 2: don't really need to know about Ken Anderson and all
- 18:56Speaker 2: that already do The number one song in the Billboard
- 18:59Speaker 2: Top one hundred for the entire year of nineteen eighty
- 19:03Speaker 2: two was what was it? A Physical by Olivia Newton John?
- 19:08Speaker 2: Was it b Centerfold by the Jay Giles Band? Was
- 19:11Speaker 2: it se Don't You Want Me? By the Human League?
- 19:15Speaker 3: Or was it D Jack and Dan by just John
- 19:17Speaker 3: Cougar not John Cougar.
- 19:18Speaker 4: Mallencamp, All right, this is not Wheelhouse Nights in eighty two.
- 19:21Speaker 3: I was a very very young child.
- 19:23Speaker 4: Centerfold's a crazy song about a guy who's like high
- 19:26Speaker 4: school girlfriend is in a magazine.
- 19:27Speaker 7: He's like, what the hell is this?
- 19:29Speaker 4: But can I tell you the video for Physical by
- 19:32Speaker 4: Olivia Newton John? I saw it way too young of
- 19:34Speaker 4: an age. You know why this is important question? Because
- 19:37Speaker 4: this is eighty two. MTV dropped in eighty one, so
- 19:40Speaker 4: everybody's pumping out videos. Can I take you on the
- 19:42Speaker 4: Journey of Physical The Physical video, Olivia Newton John goes
- 19:45Speaker 4: into a gym in which there were overweight men. They
- 19:47Speaker 4: just unapologetically show them they're working out.
- 19:49Speaker 3: They can't do it.
- 19:50Speaker 4: Then they magically turn into muscle men, and Olivia Newton
- 19:52Speaker 4: John's like, Wow, these guys are so attractive. Then it
- 19:54Speaker 4: turns out that the guys are actually more interested in
- 19:56Speaker 4: each other and they Oliving John's like what the hell?
- 19:58Speaker 3: And then she finds one that's interested in her and
- 20:00Speaker 3: walks out. It was a massive hit. Let me hear
- 20:04Speaker 3: your body talk?
- 20:05Speaker 4: Hey, now, hey physical Olivia Newton John.
- 20:09Speaker 3: And I guarantee you this is right. All right, Kyle,
- 20:11Speaker 3: The correct answer is.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Hey, let me hear your body talk.
- 20:20Speaker 3: Obviously, Olivia, we've got images Jay Australian.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Of course, coming off the success of Greece the Late
- 20:31Speaker 2: Great Olivia Newton.
- 20:33Speaker 3: She's the one that incredible look at those people just
- 20:36Speaker 3: dad on the grounder. So it was one of the
- 20:38Speaker 3: biggest videos ever.
- 20:39Speaker 2: And of course you're right, MTV had just started a
- 20:41Speaker 2: video Killed the music Star.
- 20:42Speaker 3: All the radio star Buggles Bugles, and then we get
- 20:45Speaker 3: into this.
- 20:45Speaker 2: This is the first major music video.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Of course, thriller would soon follow. All Right, we have
- 20:51Speaker 3: one group question. We need to get over the hump.
- 20:55Speaker 2: This one's actually really fun because I went back into
- 20:57Speaker 2: the archives with our producer Chris, and we really looked
- 21:00Speaker 2: at this. The Colts play the Jets on Sunday, and
- 21:04Speaker 2: we know there's a rich history from Super Bowl three.
- 21:06Speaker 3: We're not going that far back.
- 21:07Speaker 2: We're not going unitas, We're not doing Namath. These teams
- 21:10Speaker 2: have played in other playoff games too, though, and in
- 21:12Speaker 2: two thousand and nine they played in the AFC Championship
- 21:15Speaker 2: Game in Indy. The Colts scored fourteen straight points to
- 21:19Speaker 2: take a twenty to seventeen lead over New York in
- 21:21Speaker 2: the second half. The Colts then throw a touchdown pass
- 21:27Speaker 2: to Dallas Clark.
- 21:28Speaker 3: This is Peyton Man and Dallas Clark to give him
- 21:30Speaker 3: a ten point lead.
- 21:31Speaker 2: All Right, The question is this, who do the CBS
- 21:34Speaker 2: cameras cut to in the suite upstairs after this deciding
- 21:40Speaker 2: fourth quarter Dallas Clark touchdown catch.
- 21:43Speaker 3: I'm gonna give you four choices. Okay.
- 21:45Speaker 2: The cameras go to the suite right away. They're like,
- 21:49Speaker 2: here's what we're looking at. So they go to President
- 21:51Speaker 2: Barack Obama? Do they go to Reggie Miller Indiana sports legend.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Do they go to David Letterman or do they go
- 21:59Speaker 2: to Peyton Manning's brother Eli Manning. Remember this is two
- 22:02Speaker 2: thousand and nine. We'll go around the horn. The cameras
- 22:05Speaker 2: were so quick to get to that box, start with Manti.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Who do you think they went to?
- 22:11Speaker 6: Well, I graduated high school in twenty two thousand and nine. Wow,
- 22:16Speaker 6: and I do remember Barack Obama was electric president and
- 22:19Speaker 6: only heading into that year. So I'm gonna go with
- 22:21Speaker 6: a President Barack Obama spotted in the suite.
- 22:24Speaker 5: Okay, you know what, It just doesn't seem like, you know,
- 22:28Speaker 5: President Obama would be at that game during that time.
- 22:33Speaker 5: I would only imagine that this was Reggie Miller. Reggie
- 22:38Speaker 5: Miller was you know, yeah, that guy. I'm gonna go
- 22:41Speaker 5: Reggie Miller on that beat.
- 22:43Speaker 7: It's very tricky because Reggie Miller being a family member
- 22:47Speaker 7: of the CBS family with March madness and if we're
- 22:49Speaker 7: getting closer to basketball season, yeah, sure, let's show Reggie.
- 22:52Speaker 7: But then Letterman was on Steve. I'm gonna a Letterman
- 22:54Speaker 7: just because sometimes like an inexplicable David Letterman sighting makes
- 22:57Speaker 7: some sense. So I'll go with see David LETTERMANCK Napolis.
- 22:59Speaker 3: Well, a lot of letter is from Indiana.
- 23:01Speaker 4: I just have no memories of Letterman ever being at
- 23:03Speaker 4: a game ever, I have no I would remember that.
- 23:06Speaker 4: I feel like they need some cutaways of Eli where
- 23:08Speaker 4: he was just like catatonic in the stands.
- 23:11Speaker 3: I feel like it is. I'm gonna go with Eli.
- 23:13Speaker 3: I'm gonna go deep. Okay, this is great. This is
- 23:16Speaker 3: why we do the trivia.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Shout out to Dante, our researcher at that shout out.
- 23:20Speaker 3: Tell him on here in New York. He's been working
- 23:22Speaker 3: on this thing. Stuff like this is why it's great.
- 23:24Speaker 3: The suspense you can cut with a knife. Right now,
- 23:26Speaker 3: let's go to gym dance for the answer.
- 23:28Speaker 2: After the Clark touchdowning.
- 23:31Speaker 3: Survey, he used to solve the riddle.
- 23:33Speaker 2: He's gonna look down to the inst right open for
- 23:37Speaker 2: a touchdown. Yeah, we got Eli, We got Cooper.
- 23:48Speaker 3: So many vests up high fives. Oh my gosh, that's
- 23:54Speaker 3: a great shot.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Eli, of course, had won the Super Bowl a year earlier.
- 23:59Speaker 3: They were eliminated from the playoffs.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Olivia and there's Eli and Olivia and Archie's down.
- 24:04Speaker 3: There bending down. Eli. Little Arts was there. He might
- 24:07Speaker 3: have been Dad was there? That is true. Let's see.
- 24:10Speaker 3: I'll text Cooper Manning and a bit.
- 24:12Speaker 2: We'll see if the little arch Manning was at the
- 24:14Speaker 2: nine to AFC Championship game in the suite, that'd be great.
- 24:17Speaker 5: That's it.
- 24:17Speaker 3: That's trivia, guys. Good good, thanks Pete. I'd get one run,
- 24:24Speaker 3: all right.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Each week on the show, I gave a Coach of
- 24:27Speaker 2: the Week award.
- 24:28Speaker 3: And this coach of the week is not always just
- 24:30Speaker 3: a head coach.
- 24:31Speaker 2: Sometimes it could be a coordinator, it could be an assistant.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Today's coach of the Week award is going to Dave
- 24:37Speaker 2: Tobe in Kansas City.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Who is Dave Tobe.
- 24:41Speaker 2: Dave Tobe is the longtime special teams coordinator.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Of the Kansas City Chiefs and with.
- 24:46Speaker 2: A fourteen game winning streak on the line, Dave Tobe,
- 24:50Speaker 2: that guy who is Jack, finds a way to get
- 24:53Speaker 2: his guys and Leo chanal the big blocked field goal
- 24:57Speaker 2: to keep the streak alive.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Tobe, of course, has been in Kansas City since twenty thirteen,
- 25:03Speaker 3: he was with Chicago, one of the.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Guys who Devin Hester spoke about at length during his
- 25:08Speaker 2: Hall of Fame induction.
- 25:10Speaker 3: But I want to give Dave Tobe the full experience.
- 25:12Speaker 2: So here's Kevin Harlan on the call for CBS.
- 25:16Speaker 5: Thirty five yard a tamp from the far hash blocks
- 25:19Speaker 5: waiting for the.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Snap place when he is down, Let's just kick us.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Blot.
- 25:24Speaker 3: That's fucked.
- 25:25Speaker 2: It's blocked.
- 25:26Speaker 3: The chess blocked the tack. They're gonna stay undefeited.
- 25:31Speaker 2: The Kansas City chase blocked as tony five yard field
- 25:34Speaker 2: goal to tamp jen Zos City wins this game on
- 25:38Speaker 2: a pluck field goal. So Tobe was with Andy Reid
- 25:41Speaker 2: back in two thousand and one to two thousand and three,
- 25:44Speaker 2: goes to Chicago, where he was their special team's ace
- 25:47Speaker 2: for eight years. Interviews for head coaching jobs doesn't get one.
- 25:50Speaker 2: And now it's the special teams coordinator in Kansas City
- 25:52Speaker 2: where their unit with Matt a rait such as bombing
- 25:55Speaker 2: punts every week and Harrison Bucker bombing kicks and now
- 25:58Speaker 2: Leo Shanal and that defensive unit on the field goal
- 26:02Speaker 2: blocking the field goal. Everything's working for Kansas City Dave Tope,
- 26:05Speaker 2: We See You.
