- 0:01Speaker 1: day on this Friday. It's been a good day, it's
- 0:04Speaker 1: been a good week. Thank you guys. Yeah, everybody.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Hey, my closing remarks today, I want to kind of
- 0:13Speaker 2: expound on something that Junior had asked me earlier today.
- 0:18Speaker 2: The question Junior proposed to me earlier today was unk
- 0:23Speaker 2: in all of your lifetime, can you think of the
- 0:27Speaker 2: worst advice you've ever gotten? And without hesitation, two of
- 0:32Speaker 2: them came to mind right away, because I've gotten some
- 0:36Speaker 2: bad advice. And the thing you have to understand, you all,
- 0:40Speaker 2: is because I've read the Book of Proverbs repeatedly, and
- 0:43Speaker 2: because I've asked God for wisdom and understanding since I
- 0:46Speaker 2: was fifteen years old. Now, it doesn't mean I've always
- 0:49Speaker 2: applied that wisdom and understanding, trust me, I haven't. I've
- 0:55Speaker 2: done some foolish, simple, stupid things in my life, knowing
- 0:59Speaker 2: better and them anyway, and sometimes figuring that that didn't
- 1:02Speaker 2: apply to me then, but it always does. The two
- 1:07Speaker 2: worst piece of advice I got, and I probably have
- 1:09Speaker 2: had a lot more, but the two that comes to mind.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Number one, don't put all your eggs in one basket. Well,
- 1:17Speaker 2: that troubles me. You know, if we're talking about the
- 1:20Speaker 2: stock market, okay, but if you're talking about your effort
- 1:24Speaker 2: and your life's to accomplish your dreams and goals, I
- 1:28Speaker 2: don't understand how you could possibly attain them without putting
- 1:32Speaker 2: your total effort to this thing. You've got to put
- 1:36Speaker 2: a total effort into whatever it is you're trying to accomplish,
- 1:40Speaker 2: especially when it comes to accomplishing your dreams and aspirations
- 1:44Speaker 2: with your life. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
- 1:49Speaker 2: What to me, it matters, and it depends on what
- 1:53Speaker 2: that basket is made out of. If that basket is
- 1:58Speaker 2: made out of faith, if that basket is made out
- 2:02Speaker 2: of strength, if that basket is made out of hard work,
- 2:08Speaker 2: if that basket is woven together with discipline and prayer.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Why would you not put all your eggs in that basket?
- 2:16Speaker 2: And then I don't know how you're going to accomplish
- 2:20Speaker 2: your dreams without an all out effort. It requires everything
- 2:25Speaker 2: you have. You don't get a lot of days off
- 2:29Speaker 2: climbing that letter to the corporate letter, trying to be
- 2:32Speaker 2: successful in corporate America, trying to be successful as a business,
- 2:36Speaker 2: own an entrepreneur trying to be at the top of
- 2:38Speaker 2: your game. You gonna get to the top with days off.
- 2:41Speaker 2: I'm sorry. I got another piece of advice and I
- 2:46Speaker 2: told it to Junior this morning, was don't put all
- 2:49Speaker 2: your eggs in one basket. And the second one was
- 2:52Speaker 2: plan B. Always have a plan B. What you know something?
- 3:01Speaker 2: Everybody I know that had a Plan B had to
- 3:03Speaker 2: use it because in order to have a Plan B,
- 3:08Speaker 2: you must stop your Plan A to make preparations to
- 3:13Speaker 2: have a Plan B. So now again, all your effort
- 3:18Speaker 2: ain't going into Plan A, cause you back here building
- 3:21Speaker 2: a backup plan, which is a Plan B. I'll give
- 3:25Speaker 2: you another example of a plan B. If you have
- 3:28Speaker 2: a prenup in your marriage, that's a Plan B. And
- 3:31Speaker 2: I got something I'm going to tell you. I know
- 3:33Speaker 2: a lot of people with prenups. I don't know a
- 3:36Speaker 2: living soul that had a prenupt that didn't use it.
- 3:41Speaker 2: I don't. You may know some people that's got a
- 3:44Speaker 2: prenup who haven't used it yet, But hang on, everybody
- 3:49Speaker 2: I know that had a prenup used it. Now, I'm
- 3:52Speaker 2: not saying you shouldn't have a prenup. You could do
- 3:54Speaker 2: like you want to do. But everybody I know that
- 3:58Speaker 2: had one use it. Now, if you're an older guy
- 4:02Speaker 2: and you're dating a young girl and you want to
- 4:05Speaker 2: make sure that certain things go to certain people that
- 4:08Speaker 2: you've known all your life, understand that. Understand that. But
- 4:13Speaker 2: y'all start off equal and you have a pre nupe
- 4:16Speaker 2: or you start off with bruh, You're gonna use the
- 4:18Speaker 2: prenup because it's preparation for failure. So having a plan
- 4:25Speaker 2: B and not putting all your eggs in one basket
- 4:28Speaker 2: are the two worst pieces of advice I've ever gotten.
- 4:33Speaker 2: I'll tell your third thing. Whenever somebody's talking to me
- 4:37Speaker 2: and they say, statistics say, statistics say, I'm very conscious
- 4:42Speaker 2: of that. I'm very careful of that because I don't
- 4:46Speaker 2: care nothing about statistics. Statistics allow you an option to
- 4:51Speaker 2: look at, to take to fail your path. When I
- 4:54Speaker 2: first got into comedy, that was a saying that says,
- 4:58Speaker 2: one in every twenty thousand commit will ever make it
- 5:00Speaker 2: to the Tonight Show, and you can't make it without
- 5:04Speaker 2: the Tonight Show one in twenty thousand. So every night
- 5:08Speaker 2: when I was young, before I went on stage, I
- 5:10Speaker 2: would hum the theme song to Johnny Carson because that
- 5:18Speaker 2: was my dream, was to get on the Tonight Show.
- 5:21Speaker 2: I never made it to the Tonight Show. I never
- 5:24Speaker 2: got on there, but I learned something. You don't need
- 5:28Speaker 2: the Tonight Show. You need God. God can do exceedingly
- 5:34Speaker 2: and abundantly over all. You think I asked, you think
- 5:36Speaker 2: God can't out do the Tonight Show. I never got
- 5:39Speaker 2: on the Tonight Show, never met Johnny Carson, but somehow,
- 5:43Speaker 2: by the grace of God, I managed to make it anyway.
- 5:47Speaker 2: And that was one of the lessons I learned in life.
- 5:50Speaker 2: To stop depend depending and relying on people and put
- 5:53Speaker 2: your faith in God. God is an architect and author
- 5:57Speaker 2: of my life. Make sure that you hold on today people.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Stop worrying about what the haters say. The haters are
- 6:04Speaker 2: not decision make up powerbrokers or shakers, and move us.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Forget them. Don't even worry about them. Put your faith
- 6:12Speaker 2: in God. Stop worrying about statistics. Don't worry about that's saying.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Don't put all your eggs in one basket and make
- 6:21Speaker 2: a plan be put all your efforts into one thing.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Just make sure it includes God. God will take care
- 6:27Speaker 2: of you like he always has. Those are my closing
