- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Hello, Big Blue Nation, Welcome to Just the Cats. My
- 0:16Speaker 2: name is Michael Bennett on this Wednesday, May twenty fo it.
- 0:22Speaker 2: If you want to give a call in five two
- 0:24Speaker 2: three four fourteen fifty, or if you want to text
- 0:27Speaker 2: in on the Whisky Thief text line, you can do
- 0:28Speaker 2: that at five O two four one four fourteen fifty
- 0:31Speaker 2: and tweet me at Just the Cat Radio. As you know,
- 0:34Speaker 2: another man, it's just rain.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Rain.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Rain is all it does in Louisville, Kentucky anymore, I
- 0:39Speaker 2: promise you. I think they have moved the entire state
- 0:43Speaker 2: of Kentucky out to Seattle, Washington.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Feel me?
- 0:45Speaker 1: Is that? Is that the good morning justin? How are you?
- 0:49Speaker 3: Good morning, Michael, I'm great. How are you?
- 0:51Speaker 1: I'm doing fantastic? Thank you? Uh?
- 0:53Speaker 2: Is that the most rain? When you think of rain
- 0:57Speaker 2: in the United States? I always think of Seattle Washington.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Is zero a place in the United States that's rainier
- 1:03Speaker 2: that most people think of outside of that one particular city,
- 1:07Speaker 2: or do you think of something else?
- 1:09Speaker 3: I definitely think of Seattle. However, I also think of Florida.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Oh that's a good point, because they have it doesn't
- 1:18Speaker 3: rain all day in Florida, but basically every single day
- 1:22Speaker 3: you're getting a twenty thirty minute shower.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, because of the rainy season. You are you
- 1:28Speaker 2: are correct, because you know what you get to what
- 1:31Speaker 2: three four, five o'clock. It seems like it always rains
- 1:34Speaker 2: at one particular time period every single day, which is
- 1:38Speaker 2: kind of nice. I mean, you know you're going to
- 1:39Speaker 2: get a little bit of rain and you get free
- 1:42Speaker 2: irrigation system and boom, that's all you need. But I
- 1:46Speaker 2: see I can handle that. I can't handle the day
- 1:49Speaker 2: on every single day it just continues to rain. That
- 1:54Speaker 2: just gets old to me. So I have some fascinating
- 1:56Speaker 2: rain stats for you. You're right an ready, Yeah, so because
- 2:00Speaker 2: I signed up for that, just the rain.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Let's go. The place that gets the most rain is Hilo, Hawaii.
- 2:06Speaker 3: They get one and twenty six to one hundred and
- 2:08Speaker 3: thirty inches every year.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Wow. That's insane. Wow.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Also based on the number of rainy days, this is
- 2:17Speaker 3: gonna shock the hell out of you. All right, I'm
- 2:19Speaker 3: still on the number of rainy days one hundred and
- 2:21Speaker 3: seventy two, So rainy or snowy days one hundred seventy
- 2:24Speaker 3: two days. A year, Syracuse, New York.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Really that's wild, okay, because you know, as far as snow,
- 2:34Speaker 2: when I think of Rain, I think of Seattle. I
- 2:36Speaker 2: never would have thought Syracuse. As far as snow, what
- 2:40Speaker 2: city do you think of when you think of it?
- 2:43Speaker 2: It just does nothing but snow there Because I do
- 2:46Speaker 2: have one particular city. I think of Buffalo exactly. This
- 2:51Speaker 2: is where you and I think a lot alike. And
- 2:54Speaker 2: that's the exact city that I was thinking of. It's
- 2:56Speaker 2: always Buffalo. It seems like come December January, it's just
- 3:01Speaker 2: a deluge of snow. Some you found something. I don't
- 3:04Speaker 2: know what it is, especially when we're watching the Buffalo bills.
- 3:07Speaker 2: But what so Syracuse, which that's pretty close to Buffalo.
- 3:10Speaker 3: Right it is?
- 3:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think it's that terribly far.
- 3:13Speaker 3: One hundred and twenty four to one hundred and twenty
- 3:14Speaker 3: eight inches. But there's a town in Alaska, Valdez, Alaska,
- 3:19Speaker 3: they get three hundred and twenty five inches of snow
- 3:23Speaker 3: every year. That doesn't necessarily surprise me. But that's seven
- 3:28Speaker 3: feet Yeah, that's mean crazy.
- 3:31Speaker 1: That is crazy. You could get lost in that.
- 3:34Speaker 2: I mean, no, I but I'm just I guess I'm
- 3:38Speaker 2: thinking more of the lower forty eight more than I
- 3:40Speaker 2: am Hawaiian Alaska, allright, because yeah, yeah, so Buffalo, uh
- 3:47Speaker 2: and uh. But but Syracuse is the big surprise to me,
- 3:50Speaker 2: So I never predicted that one.
- 3:53Speaker 3: But uh.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Anyway, all right, today is the day we've all been
- 3:59Speaker 2: waiting for. We have We have one decision already made
- 4:03Speaker 2: over the weekend, which was Malachai Moreno coming back to Kentucky.
- 4:09Speaker 2: We don't know anything as of yet about Milan mom Chilovic.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I don't know because he's got a the side between
- 4:19Speaker 2: now and eleven fifty nine tonight, So he's got a
- 4:24Speaker 2: little over twelve hours to decide on whether or not
- 4:27Speaker 2: he is going to stay in college or stay in
- 4:30Speaker 2: the draft. And then if he does come back to college,
- 4:32Speaker 2: he's got to decide where he's going. And you know
- 4:34Speaker 2: it's he's not going back to He's never said he's
- 4:38Speaker 2: going back to Iowa State or even considering them.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Has he not? Not that I haven't seen anything, and
- 4:46Speaker 3: it is worth noting he's not on a timeline after
- 4:49Speaker 3: he announces he's coming out of the draft. Yeah, so
- 4:51Speaker 3: this thing could drag on for probably another month.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Is it going to be another situation of Tyron Stokes.
- 5:00Speaker 3: I don't know that it's going to be that bad,
- 5:01Speaker 3: but I have heard that he's probably going to take
- 5:04Speaker 3: a couple of weeks after this decision if he does
- 5:07Speaker 3: kill that, which I mean, that would suck. I don't
- 5:09Speaker 3: want to speculate for another two weeks.
- 5:11Speaker 1: No, I don't either.
- 5:12Speaker 2: It's just like, okay, but that's a that's a lot
- 5:15Speaker 2: of deciding on a young man. You know, you're deciding
- 5:18Speaker 2: whether or not saying the NBA, and then now I
- 5:21Speaker 2: got to decide if I'm going to state, which which
- 5:23Speaker 2: school I'm going to? So, I mean, I've always wondered,
- 5:27Speaker 2: what does the Iowa State fan base think of this?
- 5:29Speaker 2: What does the Iowa State coach think of this? That
- 5:32Speaker 2: you know he's going through all this process and you're
- 5:34Speaker 2: not even considering me.
- 5:35Speaker 1: What's wrong with me? I don't I feel bad for
- 5:38Speaker 1: them to a degree.
- 5:39Speaker 3: It's funny that you bring that up, because I was
- 5:41Speaker 3: actually thinking about that yesterday, Like why would he not
- 5:43Speaker 3: go back to Iowa State? He's he played there for
- 5:46Speaker 3: what three years? Like, it's right, very obviously a place
- 5:49Speaker 3: he's comfortable at. He's had some success there as an individual,
- 5:53Speaker 3: so yeah, I'm surprised as well that that's not being
- 5:56Speaker 3: brought up. Actually, Arizona has been the new school that
- 5:59Speaker 3: I've heard, which apparently they've had contact for several weeks now.
- 6:03Speaker 3: But god, Arizona. That's interesting.
- 6:07Speaker 2: It is interesting because uh, man, I mean, what if
- 6:12Speaker 2: he does go back to Iowa State and here we
- 6:15Speaker 2: were talking about this and and we get to blame
- 6:17Speaker 2: for it. This is you know, thanks a lot, Michael
- 6:18Speaker 2: Bennett justin Kaylin that uh, mom Chilovic goes back to
- 6:23Speaker 2: the Iowa State. I really appreciate you bringing that up.
- 6:26Speaker 2: But I listen, I'm at a point now you talk
- 6:30Speaker 2: to a lot of the UK media, they're always saying, uh,
- 6:33Speaker 2: for the most part, that he's coming to Kentucky.
- 6:35Speaker 1: I'm not convinced to that.
- 6:37Speaker 2: I'm just not And uh it's it's not that I
- 6:41Speaker 2: have any kind of inside information. No one has any
- 6:43Speaker 2: kind of inside information. No one knows. And I think
- 6:47Speaker 2: the best information came out of Larry Vott who said
- 6:50Speaker 2: he doesn't even think mom Chilovic knows where he's going.
- 6:53Speaker 2: And I think that's the that's the best information I've heard.
- 6:57Speaker 2: It hasn't been oh he's coming here, no one knows.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Don't let them convince you otherwise because of the fact
- 7:04Speaker 2: that mom Jillenvick doesn't even know.
- 7:06Speaker 3: So is it wrong that a small part of me,
- 7:08Speaker 3: just a small part of me, hopes that he announces
- 7:11Speaker 3: he's staying in the NBA draft tonight.
- 7:14Speaker 2: That's horrible for you to see. You're on a UK
- 7:17Speaker 2: show and you're saying something like that. But you just
- 7:19Speaker 2: you just said you don't think he's coming to UK.
- 7:22Speaker 2: That's how's what I'm saying, worse than what you said,
- 7:25Speaker 2: get out of here. I didn't say I don't think
- 7:28Speaker 2: he's coming to UK. I said I'm not sure he's
- 7:30Speaker 2: coming to the UK. It's a big difference.
- 7:33Speaker 3: I don't know. I just think it'd be funny if
- 7:35Speaker 3: he just snubbed everybody in I don't think it's funny. No,
- 7:38Speaker 3: he's not going to do that. I don't think he's
- 7:39Speaker 3: coming to UK. If he does come back, for what
- 7:41Speaker 3: it's worth, really, I think St. John's Arizona, Kentucky. That'd
- 7:45Speaker 3: be my work.
- 7:46Speaker 2: That's your order. Okay, So nothing for U of L,
- 7:49Speaker 2: nothing for uh UCLA. You think it's between those three
- 7:53Speaker 2: right there?
- 7:56Speaker 1: Good?
- 7:56Speaker 2: Okay, Well, I'm so glad, thank you very much for
- 7:59Speaker 2: your positive Without luck, I don't have.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Any inside keep that in mind. I'm not very well connected.
- 8:04Speaker 3: I don't get stories in the back channels. So that's
- 8:08Speaker 3: just me taking a guess.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Yeah, because everybody's taking a guess right now.
- 8:16Speaker 1: I mean.
- 8:18Speaker 2: I don't know. Obviously, Kentucky's a good fit for him.
- 8:22Speaker 2: I mean UK. I'm not gonna say UK desperately needs them,
- 8:26Speaker 2: but UK needs them. UK has the money to pay him.
- 8:30Speaker 2: So those are the let's look at the positives, all right.
- 8:33Speaker 2: So let's see, because I love doing the you know,
- 8:37Speaker 2: the pros and the cons. Okay, so the pros for
- 8:39Speaker 2: him coming to UK are we have the money.
- 8:43Speaker 1: What's that? Lots of playtime exactly, And that's a perfect pro.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Number two.
- 8:49Speaker 2: UK should have a lot of money to give them too.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Those are two huge pros. What is a third? One
- 8:56Speaker 2: third one is UK's putting. If he comes there, it
- 9:00Speaker 2: looks like a pretty good team that he could go
- 9:03Speaker 2: deep in the tournament. And that's one of the things
- 9:05Speaker 2: that he has mentioned that he wants to join a
- 9:07Speaker 2: team that has a championship caliber type roster. I think
- 9:12Speaker 2: him being added to UK it really adds to that.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Is it a championship type roster potentially, I'm not gonna
- 9:21Speaker 2: say it's not. I'm gonna I'm not gonna say it
- 9:23Speaker 2: definitely is the number four. You always have to talk
- 9:28Speaker 2: about the fan base. There's not another no. No offense
- 9:32Speaker 2: to IU, No offense to U of L. But are
- 9:36Speaker 2: some of the other teams that he's considering either, you
- 9:39Speaker 2: said Arizona, U c l A and Saint John's they
- 9:44Speaker 2: do not have a fan base like UK. To me,
- 9:48Speaker 2: that is a pro. You're gonna play in front of
- 9:50Speaker 2: a sold out Rapperina every single home game, You're gonna
- 9:54Speaker 2: go to away games where you're gonna find UK fans there.
- 9:59Speaker 2: You're gonna get all kinds of recognition, and you're gonna
- 10:01Speaker 2: be beloved overnight.
- 10:03Speaker 3: Well, and not only just the fan base, but also
- 10:05Speaker 3: think about the TV side of things. You're Kentucky, You're
- 10:08Speaker 3: gonna be on TV every single game, nationally televised every
- 10:12Speaker 3: single game.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, all right, all right? Am I missing any pros?
- 10:17Speaker 2: Because I think that television part of it is even
- 10:19Speaker 2: is probably a lot bigger than I was giving credit
- 10:22Speaker 2: for it.
- 10:22Speaker 1: So you're exactly correct. Am I missing anything?
- 10:25Speaker 3: I mean, I guess to go along with playing time,
- 10:29Speaker 3: it would be the fact that he's probably gonna be
- 10:31Speaker 3: given the freedom to play like he wants and like
- 10:34Speaker 3: he has played the last several years. I mean, he's
- 10:36Speaker 3: gonna he's gonna have the green light to shoot whenever
- 10:39Speaker 3: he's open. That's like, Oh, I like that. It's never
- 10:42Speaker 3: gonna be an issue. So not only is he gonna
- 10:43Speaker 3: get a lot of playing time, but he's gonna have
- 10:45Speaker 3: the freedom to play the way he wants. Yes, that's perfect.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Now let's talk about the cons. Pressure The first one
- 10:56Speaker 3: that it comes to mind.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Okay, number one, pressure on him succeeding Kentucky. I sometimes.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Sometimes that is a positive though. You know, some players
- 11:07Speaker 2: love that kind of pressure. Some players want that kind
- 11:10Speaker 2: of pressure. Some players embrace that kind of pressure. That
- 11:13Speaker 2: can go either way. You're exactly correct.
- 11:16Speaker 3: That can be a negative, but that can be a
- 11:18Speaker 3: total positive.
- 11:20Speaker 1: What is another con?
- 11:22Speaker 2: Another con is maybe there's a little bit of a
- 11:25Speaker 2: hot seat for Mark Pope to succeed. Yeah, that could
- 11:28Speaker 2: be potentially a con for him coming to Kentucky.
- 11:32Speaker 3: What is another con you can think of? You're living
- 11:37Speaker 3: in Kentucky. I mean, I was that con just home. State.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Hang on, I kind of say that tongue in cheek.
- 11:45Speaker 3: I'm a hoosier first of all. But he is coming.
- 11:49Speaker 3: He is coming from living in ames Iowa. So I
- 11:52Speaker 3: don't I don't. Yes, Kentucky's got to be better than
- 11:55Speaker 3: names Iowa.
- 11:56Speaker 1: I listen, I know nothing.
- 11:59Speaker 2: I didn't even know where Iowa state is until you
- 12:01Speaker 2: just said it. It's called ames iowas a M s
- 12:06Speaker 2: A M e s. I have never heard of ames Iowa.
- 12:09Speaker 2: I I don't know what's there other than now I
- 12:11Speaker 2: know Iowa State is there, and it's it's it's got
- 12:14Speaker 2: to be prettier in Lexington than it is in ames Iowa.
- 12:18Speaker 1: What is what is Iowa known for?
- 12:22Speaker 3: Is that?
- 12:22Speaker 2: It just corn? I mean, my goodness, there is listen,
- 12:29Speaker 2: come to war. Please don't take them to Keenland. Okay,
- 12:31Speaker 2: please don't take that it. Don't do that whole Keeenland thing.
- 12:35Speaker 2: And by the way, I want to talk about this
- 12:38Speaker 2: food thing that Lexington is being elected for and it's
- 12:41Speaker 2: from last year and UK Athletics is uh is uh
- 12:46Speaker 2: touting this?
- 12:46Speaker 1: But anyway, I don't know. All right, are you looking
- 12:49Speaker 1: up ames Iowa? Okay?
- 12:53Speaker 2: And what does it say? What it's it does. Oh,
- 12:58Speaker 2: thank goodness, we know it's Ames, Iowa. What exactly is
- 13:01Speaker 2: Ames Iowa known for?
- 13:04Speaker 3: Let's see what is Ames Iowa known for. I mean,
- 13:07Speaker 3: that's repeedia. We all know you're stalling. Just tell me this.
- 13:10Speaker 3: I would say Iowa State and that's it. It can't
- 13:16Speaker 3: be that big of a city. It's primarily known as
- 13:19Speaker 3: the home of Iowa State University.
- 13:21Speaker 2: There you go, which is population of what twenty thousand?
- 13:26Speaker 2: Iowa State can't be that big of a school. I
- 13:28Speaker 2: would think.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Ames was also the home to the world changing technological
- 13:34Speaker 3: breakthrough in the way of the computer back in the thirties. Okay,
- 13:38Speaker 3: how about that.
- 13:39Speaker 2: That's fantastic something almost one hundred years ago.
- 13:42Speaker 3: They also had a seventeen acre botanical garden.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Okay, great, Okay, So he's gone there to contemplate with
- 13:50Speaker 2: whether or not he's going to the end. That's where
- 13:52Speaker 2: he is right now. He's at the Ames Iowa Botanical
- 13:55Speaker 2: Garden contemplating whether or not he's going to stay in
- 13:57Speaker 2: the NBA or not. I guarantee, I would bet a
- 14:01Speaker 2: thousand dollars he has never been to the botanical garden
- 14:03Speaker 2: in Names Iowa. I bet he has Have you been
- 14:06Speaker 2: to the botanical garden in Louisville, Kentucky.
- 14:08Speaker 3: I've never been to a botanical garden any.
- 14:11Speaker 2: I've been to a botanical garden. I've never been to
- 14:14Speaker 2: the one in Louisville.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Isn't it just flowers? Isn't it just like a bunch
- 14:17Speaker 3: of planes.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Oh, they have trees and stuff. I mean they got
- 14:20Speaker 1: other things. And I.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Think they were advertising the other day they were having
- 14:25Speaker 2: a bonzi meeting there.
- 14:28Speaker 3: I can get down with that. See I could too.
- 14:31Speaker 3: I think bonze eyes are some of the coolest things
- 14:34Speaker 3: out there. I mean I I've always I've always won
- 14:37Speaker 3: a bonzai. My wife was given a bonzeye since the
- 14:41Speaker 3: passing of her mom. And it's almost dead. So just
- 14:45Speaker 3: to let you know, the cats are.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Eating the leaves and so we've we've had to take
- 14:49Speaker 2: it away from the cats cause you know the one cat, Hampton,
- 14:52Speaker 2: I call him fatso he eats everything. I'm just like, man,
- 14:56Speaker 2: you can't have this, Okay, let's let's stay off Hampton.
- 14:59Speaker 3: I'm not a plan guy, but if I were going
- 15:01Speaker 3: to be, I think I would want a bonzeye tree.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Those are the ones you gotta like, cut right and
- 15:05Speaker 3: shake exactly.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Yeah, they're the real tiny trees that live for a
- 15:09Speaker 2: long time. I love bonz eyes. I'm with you. If
- 15:12Speaker 2: there was ever a plant that I ever wanted to have,
- 15:14Speaker 2: it wouldn't be you know, a flower or anything.
- 15:17Speaker 1: I want a bonzeie tree. Well, we have one and
- 15:19Speaker 1: it's almost dead.
- 15:20Speaker 3: The only thing I could think of that would be
- 15:22Speaker 3: cooler than that would be a venus fly troup.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Do they really? Do they? Really? I don't know everything
- 15:31Speaker 1: they do.
- 15:32Speaker 3: I would be catching. I'd just go outside, catch a
- 15:34Speaker 3: jar full of bugs and dump it in that thing's mouth.
- 15:37Speaker 3: Would you really? Oh yeah, okay, because that's a plant,
- 15:41Speaker 3: right correct?
- 15:43Speaker 1: But would it bite your finger if you get too close?
- 15:46Speaker 3: Maybe?
- 15:47Speaker 1: Really? Okay?
- 15:48Speaker 3: I mean I eat they can eat frogs.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Come on, how do they know a frog is even there?
- 15:55Speaker 3: They they's something about the receptors on the like leaves.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Really interesting. Okay, Well there we go, justin Kaylin on
- 16:04Speaker 2: just the cats. I love this. I mean that's the greatest. Yes,
- 16:07Speaker 2: just the plans exactly. Anyway, I never dreamed, I never
- 16:12Speaker 2: woke up we would be talking about this kind of stuff.
- 16:14Speaker 2: But uh, anyway, uh I are there any other cons
- 16:20Speaker 2: to him coming to Kentucky. I have a I literally
- 16:23Speaker 2: have a hard time thinking of any cons.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I don't. There's nothing else that really
- 16:29Speaker 3: jumps off the page at me.
- 16:30Speaker 2: No other than Mark Pope really hasn't gone deep. Other
- 16:34Speaker 2: than Mark Pope has how many players in the NBA.
- 16:37Speaker 2: I know there's there's there's that, but that doesn't bother
- 16:40Speaker 2: me as much. I mean, if I'm a player and
- 16:43Speaker 2: I'm looking at that, listen, it's it's it's do players
- 16:47Speaker 2: really count on their coaches to get them to the
- 16:49Speaker 2: next level or it's just it's just a path they
- 16:54Speaker 2: take to get to the next level.
- 16:56Speaker 3: I think certain situations you're counting on the coach, but
- 16:58Speaker 3: I don't. I don't know that this is one of them.
- 17:01Speaker 1: That's not.
- 17:02Speaker 2: I mean, back before ni L, before all this, I
- 17:06Speaker 2: think players definitely relied on their college coach to get
- 17:10Speaker 2: into the next level. I think anymore it doesn't really
- 17:13Speaker 2: matter anymore as much I.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Think it is.
- 17:16Speaker 2: It is with with no offense to Cal, I mean
- 17:19Speaker 2: he was you think Cal made a difference in one
- 17:21Speaker 2: year that these players were at UK Maybe a little bit.
- 17:25Speaker 2: I'm not going to totally slam Cal and say that's
- 17:27Speaker 2: not the case, but I think Cal had a little
- 17:31Speaker 2: bit to do with it, but not like it did
- 17:32Speaker 2: back in the day. I don't think if there was
- 17:36Speaker 2: a coach out there that might make a difference. To me,
- 17:39Speaker 2: it's Rick Patino. That's that's the only one. And for well,
- 17:45Speaker 2: if it's connections and it's Cal, but I mean coaching
- 17:48Speaker 2: coaches making coaching differences in players. Cal has the definitely
- 17:56Speaker 2: has the uh connections. Rick Patino has connections. But if
- 18:00Speaker 2: it was going to be a coach that makes coaching
- 18:02Speaker 2: differences in a player, I'm gonna choose Rick Patino as
- 18:05Speaker 2: that not Cal. No offense to Cal, but Cal has
- 18:09Speaker 2: all the connections. I think Cal has more connections in
- 18:11Speaker 2: the NBA than any other player coach out there.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Maybe that would be his biggest Yeah.
- 18:16Speaker 2: So, uh, if this was between UK and Arkansas, then
- 18:21Speaker 2: I'm really nervous because you know I and I'm really
- 18:24Speaker 2: nervous about Saint John's. So because Saint John's can afford it,
- 18:29Speaker 2: and Saint John's has Patino. That's the part that makes
- 18:32Speaker 2: If you ask me who I think the biggest threat
- 18:35Speaker 2: to Mark Pope and UK basketball with Mom Chilovic to me,
- 18:39Speaker 2: at Saint.
- 18:39Speaker 3: John's Oh, for sure.
- 18:42Speaker 2: I'm right there with you. Yeah, you are, okay. I
- 18:44Speaker 2: didn't know if you were or not, especially since you
- 18:46Speaker 2: threw out Arizona.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Now Saint John's is in that one spot.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 18:52Speaker 2: And if you had it between Saint John's and UK,
- 18:55Speaker 2: you still think it's going to Saint He's going to
- 18:57Speaker 2: Saint John's, you do, Okay? Well, I hope you're wrong,
- 19:01Speaker 2: because when you make your predictions, you are one thousand
- 19:04Speaker 2: percent wrong. So I love the fact that you said
- 19:07Speaker 2: that exactly, and I love the fact that you said
- 19:09Speaker 2: he's not coming to the UK because now I can
- 19:12Speaker 2: comfortably say to everyone out there, Mom, Chilivick is coming
- 19:15Speaker 2: to UK. Okay, that's what That's what I'm going to
- 19:17Speaker 2: say right now. He's not going.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Do you all right? What percentage do you think he's
- 19:22Speaker 1: going to the NBA?
- 19:24Speaker 3: Five percent?
- 19:26Speaker 2: So you think ninety five percent chance he's coming to college? Yeah,
- 19:31Speaker 2: I don't know if I'm at ninety five percent, but
- 19:34Speaker 2: I'm probably at eighty five ninety percent he's coming back
- 19:36Speaker 2: for college play. So and then we'll just have to
- 19:39Speaker 2: wait and see another couple of weeks. So anyway, we
- 19:41Speaker 2: gotta take our first break. Five o two three four
- 19:43Speaker 2: fourteen fifty. You want to call in five oh two
- 19:46Speaker 2: four one four fourteen fifty. You want to text in
- 19:48Speaker 2: on the Whiskey te text line, or you tweet me
- 19:50Speaker 2: at justicat radio stay right there more at justic CAATs.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Coming up right.
- 20:37Speaker 2: I know you're not a big fan of Aerosmith, but
- 20:41Speaker 2: I don't know why. I mean, I really don't. But
- 20:44Speaker 2: you know, a dude's got a dream. Okay, I'm dreaming
- 20:47Speaker 2: that mom Chillivic is going to come to Kentucky. I
- 20:49Speaker 2: hope it happens.
- 20:50Speaker 3: I think this song specifically is because of my high
- 20:53Speaker 3: school days. There was this a friend of mine, but
- 20:56Speaker 3: he was from time to time he was really annoying
- 20:59Speaker 3: and he would do that and I freaking ever since then,
- 21:05Speaker 3: I hated this song really. Oh it's this specific song,
- 21:09Speaker 3: the only one I picked today.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Okay, I'm so sorry.
- 21:12Speaker 3: Okay, uh, but thing with the Beatles, Hey, Jude, he
- 21:16Speaker 3: would do the same thing with the hate Oh really,
- 21:19Speaker 3: it was horrible. Do you ever see that guy anymore?
- 21:22Speaker 3: By the way, thank God, don't say something like that.
- 21:27Speaker 3: He's still with us. I'm just we're not really friends anymore.
- 21:30Speaker 2: It's fine, it is, oh, my gosh, he might be
- 21:32Speaker 2: looking at It's like, Okay, I'm adding Justin Kaylan to
- 21:35Speaker 2: my list.
- 21:36Speaker 3: What was that movie? Bill?
- 21:39Speaker 1: Exactly?
- 21:40Speaker 3: Billy Madison called his friend that he bullied in elementary school,
- 21:44Speaker 3: and then he got checked off the list because he apologized.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Now you're being added to the list. Just want you
- 21:49Speaker 3: to know that I'm sure it's not the first list.
- 21:52Speaker 1: I listen.
- 21:53Speaker 2: I am not going to say any bad things about
- 21:56Speaker 2: guys I grew up with, because there is some I
- 22:02Speaker 2: would have to say. There's probably not a person I
- 22:05Speaker 2: grew up with that I would not want to see again.
- 22:11Speaker 3: Do you really several? Holy cow, I just don't. I
- 22:18Speaker 3: don't feel that way. I just I don't know.
- 22:21Speaker 2: I mean there were there because I you know, as
- 22:23Speaker 2: a kid, I lived in Richmond, Virginia for about five years,
- 22:26Speaker 2: and then in between that I was in Louisville, Kentucky.
- 22:29Speaker 2: And I can't, I literally cannot think of a single
- 22:32Speaker 2: person I would not want to see again. But okay,
- 22:35Speaker 2: I'm sorry you have several. You must have just been
- 22:39Speaker 2: absolutely abused as a kid. I'm so sorry for you.
- 22:43Speaker 3: I'm just turning into a grumpy old man. That's it.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Evidently you are.
- 22:47Speaker 2: I mean, get that hat out again. Don't wear this
- 22:50Speaker 2: black one that has nothing on it. Go get the
- 22:52Speaker 2: good head. Yes, I mean, I don't you look like
- 22:56Speaker 2: Leonardo DiCaprio, Okay, because he's always wearing I'm an anonymous
- 23:01Speaker 2: black hat that we all know who he is. I
- 23:04Speaker 2: don't know why he has to wear these black hats
- 23:07Speaker 2: and then put his headway down. Oh, I don't want
- 23:09Speaker 2: to be recognized when I walk into a Lakers game.
- 23:12Speaker 2: It's like, what is your freaking deal?
- 23:14Speaker 1: You're going?
- 23:14Speaker 2: You're You're a movie star, number one. Everybody in the
- 23:18Speaker 2: world knows who you are. Why are you trying to
- 23:20Speaker 2: get in inconspicuously into a basketball game in La where
- 23:26Speaker 2: everyone knows all the stars sit on the front row,
- 23:28Speaker 2: and you're sitting on the front row with Sean Pen
- 23:30Speaker 2: of all people. I don't I literally don't understand how stars. Oh,
- 23:36Speaker 2: I don't want to be bothered. Yet you got into
- 23:38Speaker 2: a profession where everybody knows who you are and everybody
- 23:41Speaker 2: wants to meet you.
- 23:42Speaker 3: That's a compliment. Celebrity's got a weird mindset.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Man, evidently. I mean that's why I'm in radio. Nobody
- 23:48Speaker 2: knows who I am. I know I got a phone call.
- 23:51Speaker 2: I'm going to get to it. I promise we'll get
- 23:53Speaker 2: to it right now. But think I didn't mean to
- 23:55Speaker 2: fuss at you. I just fussed at you. That was
- 23:57Speaker 2: non intentional.
- 23:58Speaker 1: I am. I am so sorry.
- 24:00Speaker 3: I just we just got John taking up his whole morning. Hey.
- 24:03Speaker 2: I know, I know he's got to go do his
- 24:05Speaker 2: political thing. But John, good morning, how are you today?
- 24:08Speaker 2: I'm sorry it took Let me apologize to Justin. Now
- 24:11Speaker 2: got apologize to John for taking so long to get
- 24:14Speaker 2: to your phone call. You doing okay today?
- 24:16Speaker 1: John? Oh?
- 24:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm doing fine, doing just goode. I don't mind waiting.
- 24:21Speaker 4: It's the same thing as just listening to the show.
- 24:23Speaker 4: So does it matter?
- 24:24Speaker 3: Uh see see how nice he takes that, Justine a point? Okay, good,
- 24:28Speaker 3: I appreciate that. What's on your mind today?
- 24:30Speaker 1: John?
- 24:31Speaker 4: Uh? You know I wanted to call in Justin. Can
- 24:34Speaker 4: you say the name again? Can you say the player's name?
- 24:38Speaker 3: Mom Chilovich.
- 24:40Speaker 4: There we go, Monchilovich. I don't want to hurt Justin's ears,
- 24:43Speaker 4: so I want to say it right Monchilovich. Listen, I
- 24:47Speaker 4: think Kentucky has enough on its roster, as it says
- 24:51Speaker 4: you know, when you've got Malachi coming back, you've got
- 24:55Speaker 4: zoom justin McBride, You've got Wilkins in there like you.
- 25:00Speaker 4: We've got other players obviously, So I think Kentucky has
- 25:03Speaker 4: enough to look attractive. Then with moreno there he went
- 25:08Speaker 4: through this combine situation with moreno. You know, they've probably
- 25:12Speaker 4: crossed paths a few times, looked at each other, said
- 25:14Speaker 4: some words, pass some notes. I don't know how it
- 25:16Speaker 4: goes nowadays's probably just Instagram messages and so they probably
- 25:20Speaker 4: said hi, they know each other, maybe they talked a
- 25:24Speaker 4: little bit. But one thing we were talking about the
- 25:27Speaker 4: pros and times, and I think that's a pro is
- 25:29Speaker 4: that they got enough. They got enough, and with a
- 25:31Speaker 4: player like this young man Michael, I think any a
- 25:36Speaker 4: little bit older than a young man. I mean he's
- 25:38Speaker 4: getting there, you know what I'm saying, but he's still young.
- 25:41Speaker 4: But I think they have enough. But one thing I
- 25:44Speaker 4: wanted to look at was here's another pro and I
- 25:48Speaker 4: think this is a marketing thing they better hit on.
- 25:50Speaker 4: And some people have already kind of said this, but
- 25:52Speaker 4: I would even go a bunch further here. Eminem Eminem's
- 25:58Speaker 4: are owned by Mars Incorporated. Candy. They need to get
- 26:03Speaker 4: n Chilovitch there with Moreno, they need to put both
- 26:06Speaker 4: those people on the package together, both those players. They
- 26:10Speaker 4: start the season that way and have it called the
- 26:12Speaker 4: Bluegrass Eminem's or something like that, and you got those
- 26:15Speaker 4: two guys on there, there will be literally people in
- 26:17Speaker 4: the stands just buying the package to get them autographed.
- 26:20Speaker 4: They won't even eat the candy. And so then if
- 26:23Speaker 4: you do that and he keeps going halfway in the season,
- 26:26Speaker 4: you roll out the whole Bluegrass team Eminem's and you
- 26:29Speaker 4: have a special Kentucky blue eminem inside the package. I'm
- 26:32Speaker 4: telling you, if they do this, the Stagium alone will
- 26:36Speaker 4: just go crazy and the people online will buy them.
- 26:38Speaker 3: I think it's.
- 26:41Speaker 1: The John.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Just for a minute, John, I really appreciate you calling,
- 26:45Speaker 2: and I appreciate all the time you put into joining
- 26:48Speaker 2: our show.
- 26:49Speaker 1: That might be the worst idea I've ever heard.
- 26:51Speaker 3: I could not idea.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Do you really Okay? Good?
- 26:57Speaker 2: Well, maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm in the minority, But
- 26:59Speaker 2: go ahead ahead, John, I'm going to let you finish.
- 27:04Speaker 4: I justin Micha. You have your rights and say what
- 27:07Speaker 4: you went about to think. But it's perfect. They both
- 27:10Speaker 4: have M's in their name. They're both bigs. You put
- 27:12Speaker 4: them in a little commercial together, you have them on
- 27:14Speaker 4: the court, and you got Bluegrass eminem's. If the candy
- 27:17Speaker 4: company partners of Kentucky for in that way, what a
- 27:20Speaker 4: great idea for Mark Pope in Kentucky just to have
- 27:23Speaker 4: another brand out there with them with their name on it.
- 27:26Speaker 4: And then think about the Kentucky blue eminem that you
- 27:28Speaker 4: can get. It's a specialized color. I'm telling you. If
- 27:32Speaker 4: they do that, Kentucky fans justin you know, and you
- 27:35Speaker 4: know where I'm going with this, they'll buy the packages.
- 27:38Speaker 3: They will thousand.
- 27:39Speaker 4: That's what I have today. Guys.
- 27:40Speaker 1: All right, thank you John. Always good to hear from you.
- 27:43Speaker 2: No, I listen, here's the issue, and this is what
- 27:47Speaker 2: I've said in the past. Anytime you have a particular
- 27:51Speaker 2: school as well known as UK and you have them
- 27:55Speaker 2: advertising their basketball players on a package like that, you
- 27:59Speaker 2: would a Only you would only be able to sell
- 28:01Speaker 2: it in Kentucky because I would never buy em and
- 28:04Speaker 2: M's again if they advertised Tennessee or do or anything
- 28:08Speaker 2: like that, because I've told you about my brother in law,
- 28:12Speaker 2: he wouldn't eat Papa John's for the longest time because
- 28:17Speaker 2: of you know, the pizza being named after the U
- 28:20Speaker 2: of L football stadium. He goes, I'm not eating I'm
- 28:22Speaker 2: not gonna support U of L. I still don't go
- 28:25Speaker 2: to a local convenience store here in town because when
- 28:30Speaker 2: I went to fill up with gas, it asked me
- 28:32Speaker 2: if I wanted to donate to the University.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Of Louisville Athletic department.
- 28:36Speaker 2: I'm like, no, not only that, I'm never coming back,
- 28:38Speaker 2: and I have literally never gone back to that convenience store.
- 28:42Speaker 2: So I just I don't think they would do something
- 28:44Speaker 2: like that. Mars. Where is Mars based out of I
- 28:48Speaker 2: think it's based in for some reason, I want to
- 28:51Speaker 2: say it's based in uh in Europe? Is it Switzerland
- 28:56Speaker 2: or Norwegian or something?
- 29:00Speaker 1: My wow, did I miss that? So right outside of Washington,
- 29:03Speaker 1: d C.
- 29:05Speaker 3: I me, personally, I love the idea. I think John's
- 29:08Speaker 3: onto something here because they both are MM like that's
- 29:11Speaker 3: their initial so it makes sense. And yeah, you're right,
- 29:14Speaker 3: you could only sell it in the state of Kentucky.
- 29:17Speaker 3: But like John brought up, people are gonna gobble those
- 29:21Speaker 3: up online if you have offered them online somewhere Kentucky
- 29:24Speaker 3: fans everywhere could have an opportunity to get those. I
- 29:27Speaker 3: think it would be a crazy good seller.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Well let me tell you.
- 29:30Speaker 2: You know, I've told you about one of my good
- 29:32Speaker 2: friends that worked in the Secret Service. He flew on
- 29:35Speaker 2: Air Force one multiple times. They had EM and m's
- 29:38Speaker 2: on there, and it was specific to Air Force one.
- 29:41Speaker 2: It's had the presidential seal on it and it said
- 29:44Speaker 2: Air Force One. Well, my buddy thought it'd be cool
- 29:47Speaker 2: to bring him back to Louisville and give him to
- 29:50Speaker 2: Max and Mason, my two boys. And what did they do?
- 29:53Speaker 2: He thought he envisioned they would keep them forever. But
- 29:57Speaker 2: it's like, oh my god, Caesar, M and m's from
- 29:59Speaker 2: Air Force one one. Both of them opened the entire
- 30:01Speaker 2: package down the eminems and threw away the package.
- 30:04Speaker 3: Oh my gosh. Yeah, that's kind of on you and
- 30:08Speaker 3: Patricia for.
- 30:10Speaker 2: A Oh my parenting skills, Oh listen, I know my
- 30:16Speaker 2: parenting skills are terrible. I mean, my boys parent me
- 30:19Speaker 2: more than I parent them. Still to this day they
- 30:22Speaker 2: parent me.
- 30:23Speaker 3: I'll back up John's idea with an idea of my
- 30:25Speaker 3: own that I was thinking of. I guess it was yesterday.
- 30:28Speaker 3: You know how you packaged the whole mom Chilovich thing.
- 30:32Speaker 3: What's his first name?
- 30:34Speaker 1: Milan?
- 30:35Speaker 3: Okay, so you hit him with all the other European
- 30:39Speaker 3: cities that are sprinkled across the state of Kentucky, like London,
- 30:43Speaker 3: like Paris, you could be the next European city in
- 30:46Speaker 3: this state.
- 30:49Speaker 1: I don't get it.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Milan. I don't know.
- 30:54Speaker 1: There's no Milan, Kentucky, though I know.
- 30:56Speaker 3: That's what he's going to be, Milan, Kentucky.
- 31:02Speaker 2: Okay, now, I yeah, okay, took a minute, but yeah,
- 31:06Speaker 2: that was workshop. Yeah, well, no, that's that's fine, and.
- 31:14Speaker 1: I'm not necessarily convinced of that. So, but I can't.
- 31:18Speaker 3: Believe how much you hate it.
- 31:19Speaker 1: I think it's I'm not saying I hate it. I'm
- 31:21Speaker 1: just saying that it just needs some work.
- 31:24Speaker 2: But uh uh, all right, cause you know you look,
- 31:27Speaker 2: you are right. There are a lot of cities in
- 31:30Speaker 2: Kentucky that you said London for sales, which is Versailles,
- 31:36Speaker 2: You've got Paris.
- 31:39Speaker 1: What else is there? I know there's more than that.
- 31:43Speaker 3: That's the only ones I can think of, and I
- 31:45Speaker 3: know there's definitely Born for sure.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Yeah, well, isn't there a Richmond, England? I don't know Okay,
- 31:53Speaker 2: you're a lot of help.
- 31:54Speaker 3: I mean, you know, I don't.
- 31:56Speaker 1: You're well traveled.
- 31:57Speaker 3: Come on, squad about England?
- 32:00Speaker 1: Do you not?
- 32:00Speaker 3: Really?
- 32:01Speaker 2: Okay? I figured you did. All right, well, never mind,
- 32:05Speaker 2: we'll skip on that one.
- 32:07Speaker 1: All right.
- 32:08Speaker 2: Uh, that's all I got. Then see you later, everybody.
- 32:11Speaker 2: We'll do two segments today. Uh, but no, we're gonna
- 32:14Speaker 2: take a break five O two three eight four fourteen fifty.
- 32:17Speaker 2: If you want to call in five O two four
- 32:18Speaker 2: one fourteen fifty, you want to text in on the
- 32:20Speaker 2: Whiskey Ted text line, We'll get to your text as
- 32:23Speaker 2: soon as we get back. Plus Will Stein goes on, uh,
- 32:27Speaker 2: you know that show that we all love so much on.
- 32:31Speaker 1: The SEC network, Tall Fine Ball.
- 32:34Speaker 2: And he talks about the college football playoffs. So we'll
- 32:38Speaker 2: talk about that and what Will Stein had to say
- 32:40Speaker 2: about that. Plus we're gonna talk about some NBA, uh,
- 32:43Speaker 2: some of the things that were happening last night, and
- 32:45Speaker 2: how do you get injured in a minor league baseball game?
- 32:50Speaker 1: Today?
- 32:50Speaker 2: We'll talk about that too, and the crazy story. I
- 32:53Speaker 2: don't know if you saw this. Did you see the
- 32:56Speaker 2: horse race the other day where the jockey guy ejected
- 33:00Speaker 2: the horse. We're going to talk about that when we
- 33:02Speaker 2: get back as well, So stay right there. A lot
- 33:04Speaker 2: more just the cats coming right up.
- 33:28Speaker 3: On the first part of the journey. I was talking
- 33:34Speaker 3: all the line. There were plans and birds and rocks
- 33:39Speaker 3: and things, and with sand and hills and rain. The
- 33:45Speaker 3: worst thing on.
- 33:46Speaker 1: The table two three four fourteen fifteen. If you want
- 33:53Speaker 1: to call babble two four one four.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Fourteen fifty, you want to text in on the Whisky
- 33:56Speaker 2: Thief text line or you tweet me it just the
- 33:58Speaker 2: cat radio. Uh yeah, I saw that, and I'm like, okay,
- 34:04Speaker 2: is this real? And I'm talking about the race that happened.
- 34:07Speaker 2: What was it Monday on Memoral Day? It was Belmont
- 34:13Speaker 2: Racing at the Big what do they call it? Belmont
- 34:15Speaker 2: at the Big A, which is Aqueduct Racetrack, And it
- 34:20Speaker 2: was a horse named Glint, and jockey edgar Zias was
- 34:26Speaker 2: on it.
- 34:27Speaker 1: You've seen the video.
- 34:28Speaker 2: I'm sure everybody out there has seen the video of
- 34:32Speaker 2: this if you follow horse racing. But I still can't
- 34:35Speaker 2: figure out what happened with the horse Glint. It evidently
- 34:39Speaker 2: went to its knees tripped or something, and it literally
- 34:43Speaker 2: it was like an ejection of a pilot and a
- 34:46Speaker 2: fighter jet. As you saw edgar Zias just go straight
- 34:50Speaker 2: up in the air and come back down. He was
- 34:53Speaker 2: up what ten or fifteen feet at least. I mean,
- 34:57Speaker 2: it was crazy how high he went. And they say
- 35:00Speaker 2: he's okay, yeah, which is amazing. They took him to
- 35:03Speaker 2: the hospital and get him and all checked out. I
- 35:05Speaker 2: don't think he's in the hospital anymore, is he?
- 35:07Speaker 3: I have not seen enough there.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Okay, well, it's not anything we need to look up.
- 35:11Speaker 2: But that was probably one of the craziest things I've
- 35:16Speaker 2: ever seen in my life.
- 35:18Speaker 1: And uh in how.
- 35:20Speaker 3: The horse fallen was just it looked so unnatural. Yes,
- 35:24Speaker 3: like it wasn't it its back legs that gave out?
- 35:26Speaker 3: I well, I don't know. I thought it was the
- 35:28Speaker 3: front legs.
- 35:29Speaker 2: I've literally watched it ten or fifteen times, maybe more.
- 35:32Speaker 2: I thought it was the front legs that went out.
- 35:34Speaker 2: But then h because I see him going down. Then
- 35:37Speaker 2: all of a sudden, he yops back up and the
- 35:39Speaker 2: horse looked fine, which is good. And and thank goodness
- 35:43Speaker 2: that jockey was fine, because I can't imagine if this
- 35:46Speaker 2: had happened and he was in front of all the
- 35:48Speaker 2: other horses. There's no way, uh Edgar Ziyas could have
- 35:52Speaker 2: survived so well. I mean he would have been a
- 35:54Speaker 2: lot more injured sure than he was. I just people
- 35:58Speaker 2: don't realize how being a jockey is. They just assumed
- 36:02Speaker 2: you get on the horse and it's no big deal.
- 36:04Speaker 2: I couldn't do I neither. Well, I shouldn't say I
- 36:07Speaker 2: couldn't do it. I probably could do it. I'm just
- 36:09Speaker 2: jump over rails and stuff. Yeah, I do it, I
- 36:12Speaker 2: definitely I could.
- 36:13Speaker 1: I love it.
- 36:14Speaker 2: I mean there's nothing more to me. There's nothing more
- 36:17Speaker 2: exhilarating than taking a two thousand pound fifteen hundred pound
- 36:21Speaker 2: horse and jumping over a big fence.
- 36:22Speaker 1: I mean, I just love it. And galloping up a field.
- 36:25Speaker 2: I mean it's one of the things that I love doing,
- 36:28Speaker 2: going through the woods and getting slapped by trees and
- 36:31Speaker 2: thorns and stuff. I don't you know, all of a
- 36:33Speaker 2: sudden you're bleeding on your face. Who cares, Let's go
- 36:35Speaker 2: ride some more. I just enjoy it. But I thought
- 36:39Speaker 2: of another con, by the way, before we get to
- 36:41Speaker 2: the text line. I mean, another pro, another pro for
- 36:45Speaker 2: Milan mom Chilovich coming to Kentucky.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Are you ready for this one?
- 36:49Speaker 2: So Mark Pope made the announcement that you know they're
- 36:52Speaker 2: not going well, they did this a month ago, that
- 36:55Speaker 2: they're not going to Israel, which why would you even
- 36:58Speaker 2: be considering going to Israel anyway?
- 37:00Speaker 1: I would you? Ever?
- 37:05Speaker 2: There's always some kind of terrorist threat in Israel. It
- 37:07Speaker 2: seems like, yeah, accurate, I can honestly, I've been invited
- 37:11Speaker 2: to Israel before and I said, no, way am I
- 37:14Speaker 2: ever going And these guys like it's no big deal.
- 37:17Speaker 2: We we we have bombs all there all the time.
- 37:20Speaker 2: It's like it's like, yeah, but I don't in Louisville, Kentucky,
- 37:23Speaker 2: why do I want to go chance? And that'd be
- 37:25Speaker 2: the one and only time that I would go there
- 37:27Speaker 2: and boom, I'm dead. So I said, no, I'm never
- 37:31Speaker 2: going to Israel.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Uh and uh. So I didn't do it.
- 37:36Speaker 2: And of course now UK was considering taking the basketball
- 37:39Speaker 2: team there.
- 37:40Speaker 1: I'm like, what are you thinking?
- 37:42Speaker 2: And so they eventually just cancel it because of everything
- 37:45Speaker 2: that's you know, the turmoil that's going on over there
- 37:47Speaker 2: in the in the first place. So Mark Pope made
- 37:50Speaker 2: the announcement that he would like Big Blue Nation to
- 37:53Speaker 2: help him choose what kind of trip he should take.
- 37:56Speaker 1: The team on.
- 37:57Speaker 2: I think he's making a gigantic mistake. Here is what
- 38:02Speaker 2: you do. You quietly say to Milai, mom Chilovic, hey.
- 38:08Speaker 1: You choose where we go?
- 38:09Speaker 3: Where do you want to go?
- 38:11Speaker 1: Exactly?
- 38:12Speaker 2: And then boom, you got another recruit coming to con
- 38:15Speaker 2: That's what Mark Pope should have done in the first place.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Where would you pick if you had the choice and
- 38:22Speaker 2: you are Mom Chilovic or or Justin Kaylin is six
- 38:26Speaker 2: foot eleven leaving Iowa State and saying I'm going to Kentucky.
- 38:31Speaker 2: But but before I choose there, I want to go
- 38:34Speaker 2: here and take the entire team. Where would you choose?
- 38:37Speaker 3: I'm gonna tell you the same answer that I give
- 38:39Speaker 3: you every single time when something like this comes up. Okay, Fiji,
- 38:45Speaker 3: it's Fiji. Yeah, Okay, we're going to Now you have
- 38:48Speaker 3: said it numerous times. We're gon we're going to find
- 38:50Speaker 3: a court, we're gonna play three four games, and we're gonna.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Vake really Okay, all right, then good, I'm going to Thailand.
- 38:57Speaker 3: I've always wanted to go, either to Thailand or else
- 38:59Speaker 3: to ear Yeah.
- 39:01Speaker 1: I want to go.
- 39:02Speaker 2: As far as I can away from here so that
- 39:05Speaker 2: you know it's free. Because let's charge the school, and
- 39:08Speaker 2: that's some reason I've always wanted to go here. The
- 39:11Speaker 2: beaches in Thailand are just amazing, so I've always wanted
- 39:14Speaker 2: to go there. But I'm just thinking that's a missed
- 39:17Speaker 2: opportunity right there. Let's go to the whiskey Thief text
- 39:20Speaker 2: line five O two three eight four one four fourteen fifty.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Zach said, Uh, let me sure, I'm go that guy
- 39:28Speaker 2: and you in that commercial. Sure seems like a pushover. Huh,
- 39:34Speaker 2: who's Andrew?
- 39:35Speaker 3: Who is Andrew?
- 39:37Speaker 1: I don't know who he's talking about. So there you go.
- 39:39Speaker 1: You got your text red buzz texted out.
- 39:45Speaker 2: I spent quite a bit of time in Seattle on
- 39:47Speaker 2: a project for work. It rarely rained while I was there.
- 39:51Speaker 3: Yeah, they say it's a myth that they don't get
- 39:53Speaker 3: nearly as much rain as people think. Oh really, they
- 39:57Speaker 3: only get like thirty nine inches a year.
- 40:00Speaker 1: Is that all okay?
- 40:02Speaker 3: Well?
- 40:03Speaker 1: Why why have they always been blamed for rain? Then?
- 40:06Speaker 2: That's I've always heard Seattle is always rains there, and
- 40:10Speaker 2: London and it's always foggy and rainy there. Well, every
- 40:13Speaker 2: time I've been to London, it's never been foggy, and
- 40:16Speaker 2: it's never been rainy, So we've been lucky from that standpoint.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Maybe it's the time of year. So I don't know.
- 40:20Speaker 2: I mean, everybody says Cleveland is the trashiest place in
- 40:26Speaker 2: the United States? Is it the trashiest place?
- 40:29Speaker 3: No way.
- 40:31Speaker 1: I want to know how they got the Rock and
- 40:33Speaker 1: Roll Hall of Fame.
- 40:33Speaker 3: There because they got the bay or the water there.
- 40:37Speaker 1: What's the water got to do with rock and roll?
- 40:40Speaker 3: It makes it beautiful? Lakes?
- 40:44Speaker 1: Oh? Is that what they do? They love lakes?
- 40:46Speaker 2: Okay, all right, then, God, that might be the dumbest
- 40:49Speaker 2: thing I've ever heard. All right then, because why did
- 40:52Speaker 2: rock and Roll Hall of Fame go to Cleveland because
- 40:54Speaker 2: of the lake? I don't I honestly don't get that response,
- 40:59Speaker 2: but I love it.
- 41:00Speaker 1: It's pure you right there.
- 41:01Speaker 3: So Zach said it was the I guess the Helping
- 41:04Speaker 3: the Family commercial between our shows.
- 41:06Speaker 2: Oh that guy's creepy, Yeah, Zach, I am right there
- 41:10Speaker 2: with you. If there was ever a commercial I wish
- 41:13Speaker 2: we could get rid of, it would be that one.
- 41:15Speaker 3: No, they got some fun one. Sometimes it's creepy, like
- 41:19Speaker 3: the one last week was they were talking about two
- 41:21Speaker 3: friends that made a lottery packed years ago, and then
- 41:24Speaker 3: one of them ended up winning the lottery, and and
- 41:26Speaker 3: he went through with it, gave his buddy half the money.
- 41:30Speaker 2: Okay, I want to know if you made a lottery
- 41:34Speaker 2: pack with somebody and it ends up being the Aerosmith guy,
- 41:41Speaker 2: the one that Jamon and you just like got to
- 41:45Speaker 2: a point where I can't stand you anymore, And thirty
- 41:48Speaker 2: years later, I still can't stand you. But you made
- 41:50Speaker 2: the lottery pack and you won the lottery. Justin Kaylin,
- 41:54Speaker 2: are you going back to dreamond boy and saying, uh,
- 41:59Speaker 2: I made that pack with you And I'm living to
- 42:01Speaker 2: my word, Yes.
- 42:02Speaker 3: I would, Are you really? Because there's this little thing
- 42:05Speaker 3: that I believe in called karma. Yes, and everything happens
- 42:09Speaker 3: for a reason. I believe Yes, he would get his hat.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Okay, good for you.
- 42:15Speaker 3: It's like the guy said in the story, I mean
- 42:18Speaker 3: a handshakes, a handshake like we made a handshake. I'm
- 42:21Speaker 3: gonna go through with it.
- 42:22Speaker 2: And he would probably take that money by Arrowsmith to
- 42:26Speaker 2: come to his house to play. And he's up there
- 42:29Speaker 2: singing with Steven Tyler. I won't now you'd be there,
- 42:32Speaker 2: come on, you would be loving every second of it,
- 42:34Speaker 2: and you'd tell Steven Tyler I know ten thousand songs.
- 42:37Speaker 2: Let me sing because I know nine hundred of years
- 42:40Speaker 2: by heart. Okay, one person texting. I don't think the
- 42:45Speaker 2: mom Chilovich decision drags out. I think it's a few
- 42:49Speaker 2: days and the decision is done. UK is working, working,
- 42:53Speaker 2: or working to get this deal done. UK is the
- 42:56Speaker 2: only team that makes sense. I'm not convinced. Listen, I
- 43:01Speaker 2: appreciate what you're saying. I hope you're absolutely one thousand
- 43:05Speaker 2: percent right. I am not certain or nor am I
- 43:09Speaker 2: convinced UK is the team that is the only team
- 43:13Speaker 2: that makes sense. I still think think John's makes sense.
- 43:16Speaker 3: Well, I mean, you'd have to have a knowledge of
- 43:18Speaker 3: the other rosters, and we just don't. I can't say
- 43:23Speaker 3: either way if it makes sense or not.
- 43:25Speaker 1: They can afford it, and they got a pretty good coach.
- 43:28Speaker 2: So that's again, that's I go back to that, and
- 43:31Speaker 2: I think that's the only team I'm probably the most
- 43:33Speaker 2: nervous about.
- 43:36Speaker 1: Forty eight.
- 43:36Speaker 2: Handley says horse racing gets a chair of bad publicity.
- 43:40Speaker 2: I just read where read where Jose Ortez donated his
- 43:44Speaker 2: winning share of the Kentucky Derby purse two hundred and
- 43:48Speaker 2: seventeen thousand dollars to a fun a homeless sinner in
- 43:52Speaker 2: his native country.
- 43:54Speaker 1: How about that?
- 43:55Speaker 3: Good for him?
- 43:57Speaker 2: Yeah, he's getting the Ortez brothers are getting a little
- 44:00Speaker 2: bad publicity right now. You've seen that for a cockroach
- 44:04Speaker 2: being a part of a cockroach fight down in Puerto Rico.
- 44:07Speaker 1: A cockroach fight, not a cockroach.
- 44:12Speaker 3: I was like, who is gonna care if they're fighting cockroaches,
- 44:17Speaker 3: the chicken fights, the rooster cockfights.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Yes, there you go, cockroach fight.
- 44:22Speaker 2: Okay, never mind, that would be please please don't make
- 44:26Speaker 2: a T shirt out of that. I don't want to
- 44:27Speaker 2: see a cockroach fight T shirt on just the cats.
- 44:30Speaker 2: Uh that's man, Why did I say cockroach?
- 44:34Speaker 1: Anyway? I get it for a.
- 44:35Speaker 3: Second, but hang on, this is mad at this.
- 44:40Speaker 1: No. Yes, are they the most hayded bug out there?
- 44:45Speaker 1: I think so? But no, they were a part.
- 44:49Speaker 2: They had pictures of them as taking money at a
- 44:53Speaker 2: cock fight down in Puerto Rico, and evidently somebody else
- 44:57Speaker 2: I don't remember who the other person that was involved,
- 45:00Speaker 2: but there's been a lot of questioning about that.
- 45:02Speaker 1: But it's like, well, it's in Puerto Rico. Let's just
- 45:04Speaker 1: look move on.
- 45:05Speaker 3: And here's the thing. I'm all for peta and treating
- 45:08Speaker 3: animals the right way. But there are somewhere around the
- 45:11Speaker 3: neighborhood of thirty six billion chickens on in the world.
- 45:14Speaker 3: I think we're okay if a couple of them want
- 45:17Speaker 3: to fight.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Why are we Why why are people still against cock?
- 45:21Speaker 2: Cockroach? God bless cockfights? I don't get it.
- 45:25Speaker 3: You're like training the animals to be not like they
- 45:28Speaker 3: are naturally.
- 45:29Speaker 2: Really okay, and it's to the death, I guess because
- 45:33Speaker 2: dog fights are the same way. I don't want to
- 45:35Speaker 2: go see a dog fight. I don't know if I
- 45:37Speaker 2: ever want to go see a cock fight. I just
- 45:40Speaker 2: let them fight, but don't let them kill each other.
- 45:44Speaker 3: I think it would be I'm wouldn't think, wouldn't want
- 45:47Speaker 3: to see a dog fight, but yeah, cockfight.
- 45:51Speaker 2: One person the greatest emin Am commendation in sports was
- 45:53Speaker 2: Mantlin Maris uh See nineteen sixty one. Wow, uh kaka rucha.
- 46:01Speaker 2: Cock fighting is brutal. They put metal spurs on them.
- 46:05Speaker 2: I didn't know that.
- 46:07Speaker 1: Holy cow, did you know they put metal spurs on them?
- 46:11Speaker 3: I know they yeah, I mean they like, yeah, they
- 46:14Speaker 3: mought them out for sure?
- 46:16Speaker 1: Do they really okay?
- 46:17Speaker 2: Interesting Will from South Central John may be onto something.
- 46:23Speaker 3: All right, he is, I'm telling all right, well.
- 46:26Speaker 2: Listen, I'm gonna hold this until our number two will
- 46:29Speaker 2: from South Central. Okay, I'm gonna read that. It's a
- 46:31Speaker 2: little longer, but we're running out of time for the
- 46:34Speaker 2: first hour. So second hour we'll start with the rest
- 46:37Speaker 2: of these text messages, and we're going to talk about
- 46:40Speaker 2: what will Stein has to say about the college football playoffs,
- 46:43Speaker 2: so that, amongst other things, Oklahoma City doing its thing
- 46:47Speaker 2: and what happened to that ballgame because there's some controversy
- 46:50Speaker 2: there too. Our number two coming right up. Stay right there.
- 47:00Speaker 3: In the desert. You can't.
- 47:08Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett. All right,
- 47:21Speaker 1: hour number two.
- 47:21Speaker 2: If you want to join us, you can do it
- 47:23Speaker 2: by calling in at five O two three four fourteen fifty,
- 47:26Speaker 2: or you can text me on the Whiskey Thief text
- 47:28Speaker 2: line FABO two four one four fourteen fifty, or you
- 47:30Speaker 2: can tweet me at Just the Cat Radio. As you
- 47:33Speaker 2: give me the side eye. There was I going a
- 47:34Speaker 2: little too long letting the music play there.
- 47:37Speaker 3: I'm sorry, I was just curious if you wanted to
- 47:39Speaker 3: play radio for the second hour.
- 47:42Speaker 1: I love it when you say that to me, Michael Radio.
- 47:46Speaker 2: I mean when you text me, it's like it's like
- 47:48Speaker 2: I just I let time slip by, okay, and I
- 47:52Speaker 2: forget that.
- 47:53Speaker 3: No, very nonchalant, no head fine nothing.
- 47:56Speaker 1: I'm like, I know, I know.
- 48:01Speaker 2: I think the funniest text you sent me was Radio
- 48:03Speaker 2: Today Are Nah you did that Derby week and that
- 48:09Speaker 2: made me just laugh. That was so funny. But I
- 48:12Speaker 2: want to get back to this text because I think
- 48:14Speaker 2: Will from South Central deserves the attention. John may be
- 48:18Speaker 2: onto something. Eminem could do a commercial having the two
- 48:22Speaker 2: players claiming to be the real Eminem with the real
- 48:26Speaker 2: slim shady song playing in the background. The Boozer Twins
- 48:29Speaker 2: did a bunch of commercials. Why can't potentially to UK players.
- 48:34Speaker 2: I listen, I forgot that Will from South Central John.
- 48:40Speaker 2: I know you're listening. I need to apologize to you
- 48:43Speaker 2: because I think the people are speaking Michael Bennett is wrong.
- 48:47Speaker 2: I'm mad enough to Okay, you don't have to agree
- 48:50Speaker 2: right in the middle of my apology. Okay, don't put
- 48:52Speaker 2: salt into the wound. But I'll admit I might be wrong.
- 48:57Speaker 2: Go ahead and say yes again. Yeah, but uh well,
- 49:01Speaker 2: maybe you are on the side because he's right. Will
- 49:04Speaker 2: fulm Style Center reminded me that the Boozer Twins were
- 49:07Speaker 2: doing all kinds of stuff, and somebody please remind me
- 49:10Speaker 2: of what product that was, because I guess what, I'm
- 49:12Speaker 2: gonna stop using it because they were advertising for Duke players.
- 49:16Speaker 3: I don't even remember what it was at this point.
- 49:18Speaker 3: Oh see, it didn't work. It was State Farm. Yeah, okay,
- 49:23Speaker 3: State Farm.
- 49:23Speaker 2: I will no longer use your insurance or I will
- 49:26Speaker 2: never consider you because you advertised with Duke Universiti. I
- 49:33Speaker 2: won't use for Okay, I'll have to cancel Verizon because
- 49:35Speaker 2: I use him for my cell phone. I will do that.
- 49:39Speaker 2: You think I'm kidding. I will do the stuff like that,
- 49:41Speaker 2: but it's just why can't they do it for u K.
- 49:49Speaker 2: Do you think it's smart that Duke? Uh No, it's
- 49:52Speaker 2: smart for Duke to do that. But do you think
- 49:54Speaker 2: it's smart of the product to advertise one particular school
- 49:59Speaker 2: when probably a lot of North Carolina fans or a
- 50:02Speaker 2: lot of other ACC schools and big rivals like Kentucky
- 50:08Speaker 2: that don't like him. My potential might potentially lose some
- 50:13Speaker 2: of their customers.
- 50:14Speaker 3: I don't think so, because everybody loves M and MS,
- 50:16Speaker 3: and like we've talked about, you're you're just gonna sell
- 50:19Speaker 3: them regionally. The commercials will just run regionally. Everything else
- 50:23Speaker 3: is going to be online sales from Kentucky fans that
- 50:26Speaker 3: aren't around this area. So I do I think this
- 50:29Speaker 3: is a a borderline genius idea. I love.
- 50:34Speaker 1: Uh.
- 50:34Speaker 2: One person said good things Scoots and John don't run
- 50:37Speaker 2: UK's NIL program.
- 50:39Speaker 1: My god, what you know how.
- 50:42Speaker 3: Many Nile scholars we could get from this? There's one
- 50:46Speaker 3: pro Michael Bennett right there, So one out of seven
- 50:50Speaker 3: ain't bad?
- 50:51Speaker 1: Okay?
- 50:52Speaker 3: Uh.
- 50:52Speaker 2: Cordly reminders that if you are under forty wearing a Fedora,
- 50:56Speaker 2: I do not respect your life choices?
- 51:00Speaker 3: Does that come from? Got some random text this morning?
- 51:03Speaker 1: Hevy, Really that's from Illinois?
- 51:05Speaker 3: So I yeah, look at the one he sent me
- 51:08Speaker 3: that His text to me, I was like, wait, where's
- 51:10Speaker 3: this coming from?
- 51:11Speaker 2: There's a newer employee at work that refuses to eat
- 51:15Speaker 2: warm cheese, which means no pizza, cacadya, or frankly anything
- 51:19Speaker 2: worth eating. While she is fit and has a healthy diet,
- 51:22Speaker 2: some things aren't worth sacrificing.
- 51:24Speaker 3: That came from out of the blue.
- 51:27Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know what listen, I would be against
- 51:30Speaker 2: that employee and I would do everything I could to
- 51:32Speaker 2: get her dismissed or just get her to quit. Okay,
- 51:35Speaker 2: because that woman has a problem. If you don't like
- 51:38Speaker 2: warm cheese, that is probably one of the most Unamerican things.
- 51:42Speaker 1: In the world. Yeah, what is wrong with you?
- 51:46Speaker 2: I don't care. And it sounds like I'm picking on
- 51:47Speaker 2: a woman. No, no, no, I'm picking on anybody that does
- 51:50Speaker 2: not like warm cheese.
- 51:51Speaker 3: I brought up the fact that I have an uncle
- 51:53Speaker 3: who doesn't like any sort of cheese.
- 51:56Speaker 1: Really.
- 51:57Speaker 3: Now, he's German, so you can say it's not America
- 52:00Speaker 3: and he would be okay with that.
- 52:01Speaker 2: But okay, well that's different. Yeah, all right, Well then
- 52:04Speaker 2: just tell him we don't like Frankfurter's. Okay, so we
- 52:06Speaker 2: don't like Glizzies. Who doesn't eat caeso? Like, how can
- 52:09Speaker 2: you not eat caso? Unbelievable. I didn't think I'm thinking
- 52:14Speaker 2: warm cheese, I'm thinking pizza.
- 52:16Speaker 1: Now you're putting in caso. I'm like, what is wrong
- 52:19Speaker 1: with you?
- 52:20Speaker 3: It's crazy?
- 52:21Speaker 2: Yeah, that that person has a problem. Yeah, and I
- 52:24Speaker 2: agree with his uh quarterly reminder. I like that that
- 52:28Speaker 2: if you are under forty wearing a Fedora. Listen, I
- 52:31Speaker 2: think if you're over forty, I'm wearing Fedora. I do
- 52:34Speaker 2: not respect your life choices. Okay, I think fedoras are
- 52:38Speaker 2: the most ridiculous hat ever made.
- 52:41Speaker 1: There's no purpose to them.
- 52:43Speaker 2: Want but it's not keeping the sun out of the
- 52:47Speaker 2: purpose of wearing a hat is to keep the sun
- 52:50Speaker 2: out of your eyes. Now, if it's wintertime or off
- 52:53Speaker 2: your head, Okay, all right, then we'll sew but hair
- 52:59Speaker 2: so your ball, then you wear a hat. Okay, I
- 53:01Speaker 2: kind of get that, But I just doors are the
- 53:03Speaker 2: dumbest looking hat.
- 53:04Speaker 3: How do you feel about cowboy hats? I think they're
- 53:07Speaker 3: even dumber. That's kind of how I feel, is it really?
- 53:11Speaker 3: I'm not a cowboy hat guy? All right?
- 53:13Speaker 2: So I went to a restaurant. We're getting completely off
- 53:16Speaker 2: topic here we go. We went to I know, we
- 53:18Speaker 2: went to a restaurant this past Friday night. A guy
- 53:22Speaker 2: wore a cowboy hat into the restaurant and never took
- 53:25Speaker 2: it off while he was sitting down and eating. Do
- 53:28Speaker 2: you think that it's polite or disrespectful?
- 53:31Speaker 3: I don't care about people wearing hats indoors.
- 53:34Speaker 1: You don't, Okay? And I grew up, I do.
- 53:37Speaker 3: I grew up with my German grandparents who every time
- 53:39Speaker 3: I went to their house, if I was wearing a hat,
- 53:42Speaker 3: that was the first thing I had to do was
- 53:43Speaker 3: take it off before I walked in the house. But
- 53:46Speaker 3: now I'm just like, I'm gonna do whatever I want.
- 53:49Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, all right. Then, well he wore the ridiculous
- 53:52Speaker 2: looking cowboy hat. And it's just I don't know. I
- 53:55Speaker 2: just you go to Texas, everybody wears their little cowboy hats.
- 53:58Speaker 2: First of all, you're not a cow boy unless you're
- 54:01Speaker 2: on horseback and your your you know, steering around cattle.
- 54:07Speaker 1: But I just don't get the whole cowboy hat thing.
- 54:09Speaker 3: Some people look good at like Windom. I was watching
- 54:13Speaker 3: the golf on Sunday and Wyndom Clark won. Well, I
- 54:16Speaker 3: guess that tournament you get a cowboy hat for winning.
- 54:19Speaker 3: He put it on. Wyndam Clark was a sharp looking
- 54:21Speaker 3: dude in a cowboy hat.
- 54:22Speaker 1: Really, okay, fair enough? I mean, I just I don't know.
- 54:25Speaker 3: I went to a an event Saturday where the riders
- 54:30Speaker 3: are on horseback and they go around barrel.
- 54:32Speaker 2: It's barrel racing, I think is what it's called. Cool
- 54:35Speaker 2: event and they're wearing their cowboy hats. I get that,
- 54:38Speaker 2: you're you're you're an event you Oh I'm a cowboy
- 54:41Speaker 2: now because I'm wearing a cowboy hat. But uh, those
- 54:44Speaker 2: riders are on those horses, going as fast as they
- 54:47Speaker 2: can around, turning as fast as they can around these barrels.
- 54:52Speaker 1: How does their cowboy hat not fall off?
- 54:54Speaker 3: Exactly where I was going? And maybe I'm not the
- 54:56Speaker 3: one to speak on this, but it doesn't feel like
- 54:58Speaker 3: logistically cowboy are the smartest move because you're getting you're
- 55:03Speaker 3: picking up wind around the whole entire.
- 55:05Speaker 1: Hat like, oh, they're flying, I'm with you.
- 55:07Speaker 3: How is it not flying off?
- 55:09Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 55:10Speaker 2: Every now and then they said one falls off and
- 55:13Speaker 2: the crowd goes nuts. But it never fell off the
- 55:16Speaker 2: entire time I was there. And I mean, it's not
- 55:19Speaker 2: like they're just doing a little jog or they're just
- 55:22Speaker 2: prancing around the ring. No, they are going exceptionally fast
- 55:26Speaker 2: and though they're they're cutting those corners so quickly that
- 55:31Speaker 2: the horse is almost its butt is almost touching the ground.
- 55:34Speaker 1: It's amazing.
- 55:35Speaker 2: I think the person with their shoes on could touch
- 55:38Speaker 2: the ground while they're on horseback. I mean, but I
- 55:42Speaker 2: just the entire time. How is the cowboy hat not
- 55:44Speaker 2: falling off? But thank you for the quarterly reminder. I
- 55:47Speaker 2: hope I get more from you. Let me get to
- 55:50Speaker 2: another text here. Michael Bennett is pro cock, pro cockroaches.
- 55:56Speaker 2: I knew that was gonna come. My god, it has
- 56:00Speaker 2: to be big in places. If South Carolina is nicknamed
- 56:04Speaker 2: the game Cocks, that's a great point right there.
- 56:09Speaker 3: Wait, what does that have to do with anything?
- 56:12Speaker 1: They're the game Cocks.
- 56:14Speaker 3: But how does that have to do with cockfighting?
- 56:17Speaker 2: Well, they have cocks down there, so they they have
- 56:20Speaker 2: to have cock fighting down there, don't you think?
- 56:22Speaker 1: No, believe what I just said. We got to move on.
- 56:28Speaker 1: My question is do yep, it's the summer. My question
- 56:35Speaker 1: is this?
- 56:36Speaker 2: Okay, stop, I can't even read this one now, but
- 56:40Speaker 2: stop it.
- 56:41Speaker 1: Don't text me that again.
- 56:42Speaker 2: And I appreciate what you're saying there, Jamie, but god
- 56:45Speaker 2: bless that made me laugh.
- 56:47Speaker 3: Okay, Jamie's been towing some lines lately. Yeah, yeah he has,
- 56:52Speaker 3: and you know what he might get. He might have
- 56:54Speaker 3: to arrest himself just to let you know.
- 56:56Speaker 2: Uh so, but anyway, uh, Michelle texted out, uh.
- 57:03Speaker 1: You guys keep going in and out?
- 57:05Speaker 3: Uh oh?
- 57:07Speaker 1: Is the uh online? Okay? Or do you know anything
- 57:10Speaker 1: that's going on?
- 57:11Speaker 3: I haven't heard any reports.
- 57:13Speaker 2: No, okay, all right, well there's your first report that
- 57:16Speaker 2: the that it's going in and out. D Wayne Lucas
- 57:19Speaker 2: always had a cowboy hat on while on the track.
- 57:22Speaker 2: He did, and I think Wayne Lucas looked really good in.
- 57:27Speaker 1: A cowboy hat. You're right, all right? All right.
- 57:29Speaker 2: Another person that I always notice wears a cowboy hat,
- 57:33Speaker 2: Bob Baffort. He wears a cowboy hat quite a bit.
- 57:37Speaker 3: I can't imagine he looks good in the cowboy hat.
- 57:40Speaker 1: I think he looks ridiculous.
- 57:41Speaker 2: Yeah, And when I see him in cowboy boots, it
- 57:44Speaker 2: looks ridiculous. It's like, well, wait a minute, you're in
- 57:46Speaker 2: a horse track. Why are you wearing cowboy boots. You're
- 57:48Speaker 2: not getting on a horse, You're not doing anything. Don't
- 57:50Speaker 2: wear the cowboy boots.
- 57:51Speaker 3: So when I think of cowboy hats and people that
- 57:54Speaker 3: look good in them, first guy that comes to mind
- 57:56Speaker 3: for me is either George Strait or Tim McGaw.
- 58:01Speaker 2: Oh, Alan Jackson, Okay, I can see that, Yeah, anybody else.
- 58:06Speaker 2: John Wayne was probably the most famous person wearing a
- 58:10Speaker 2: cowboy hat. I can't think of anybody else other than
- 58:13Speaker 2: country music singers. Yeah, they wear their little cowboy hats.
- 58:16Speaker 2: You're not cowboys, but you're singers. But I get it,
- 58:19Speaker 2: it's part of your your spiel. But are there any
- 58:23Speaker 2: famous Who's.
- 58:25Speaker 3: The dude that plays in Yellowstone? The main character. He
- 58:28Speaker 3: looks good in the cowboy hat? Does he really know? Yeah?
- 58:33Speaker 1: I do.
- 58:34Speaker 2: I can't think of his name. The guy you always
- 58:35Speaker 2: think it looks like Michael Kevin Costner.
- 58:39Speaker 3: Yeah, Oh my god, that's the other one.
- 58:43Speaker 2: Dennis Quaid, Michael Keaton, and Kevin Costner. They all look
- 58:46Speaker 2: the same. I mean, I I'm with you, they look
- 58:49Speaker 2: exactly the same. One's Batman, one's Yellowstone, and the other one.
- 58:53Speaker 2: Uh yes, yes, yes see you're getting it mixed up.
- 59:02Speaker 2: I get all three of them mixed up every single time.
- 59:05Speaker 1: I don't know why that is.
- 59:07Speaker 2: Oh, this might have to be the most ridiculous show
- 59:10Speaker 2: we've ever done on this radio station. I just want
- 59:13Speaker 2: you to know. Let's talk about some will Stein. Will
- 59:16Speaker 2: Stein was on you know the guy on.
- 59:20Speaker 1: The SEC that's the most boring person in the world.
- 59:23Speaker 2: What's his name? Yeah? Exactly, yeah, exactly. It is boring,
- 59:31Speaker 2: bomb fine, boring. I mean, he could go on forever
- 59:37Speaker 2: with those nicknames.
- 59:38Speaker 3: But uh.
- 59:39Speaker 2: And he made the comment that will Stein is in
- 59:43Speaker 2: favor of college football expansion. Okay, I understand why he's
- 59:51Speaker 2: saying that, because you know, out of all the commissioners
- 59:55Speaker 2: out there, the conference commissioners, all of them wont expansion.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: Clearly ACC wants it, Big twelve has been very vocal
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: about it, and I was really surprised that the Big
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: Ten commissioner said that he wants it. Are you surprised,
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: justin knowing that you are in a Big Ten fan,
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: are you surprised that the Big ten commissioner wants college
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: football playoff expansion?
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: First of all, I'm an Indiana fan, not a Big
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: Ten fan. I'm not like you SEC homers where I'm
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: cheering for the conference.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: But I meant that your team is in the Big Ten.
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: But go ahead, correct.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: But to my knowledge, I think, isn't it the SEC
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: and the Big twelve commissioners they want to go to
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: twenty four and then ever ACC Big twelve they want
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: to go to sixteen. Isn't that how it is? No?
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: I think Big twelve and ACC want twenty four.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: Now Big ten definitely wants twenty four. Wait, I thought
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: they were. I thought all three of them wanted twenty four. Truthfully,
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: maybe they do, which I mean, twenty four makes sense
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: from a financial standpoint. I mean, you're obviously gonna get
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: a lot more money into the conference with with that
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: many more games and that many more teams getting in.
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: But I just again, twenty four just feels like too many.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: Why.
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: I mean, you're at that point, you're having to play
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: what I mean, a ton of games. You're gonna have
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: to start the playoffs at the beginning of December or
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: the end of November.
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: Well, I mean you're you're playing what six games now
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: they get to the change? Now, how many are you
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: playing right now to get to the championship game?
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: Three?
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: Three?
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: Yeah, if you if you add or take you to okay,
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: if you go to if you go to twenty four,
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: how many are you playing? Six? Six?
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: Okay?
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: I'm trying to figure it out right now. I'm having
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: a hard time. That's that is a lot of games.
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: But I think it would be well, twelve, Well, you'd
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: have buys in this. See, I mean, logistically, it just
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: doesn't make sense because we can't even put together a
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: bracket with twenty fourteen, whereas a bracket with sixteen teams
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: makes a lot more sense. It does, but Big ten
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: wants it. I'm not surprised. I am surprised that the
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: Big ten wants it. And within the SEC you have
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: eight athletic directors that won it a twenty fourteen playoff,
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: one once twenty and four once sixteen, and then one
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: once twelve. I was really surprised by all the coaches
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: that won it now twice, fine, why is it?
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: Two? Twenty is the dumbest number I've heard in this
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: whole scenario. Really, you think twenty four doesn't make sense,
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: try to figure out a bracket for twenty.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: Because you got to play in. I mean, you go
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: back to it.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: It's the play in stuff, and you're gonna have U.
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: And here's how they'll break get down. It will get
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: more ACC and Big twelve teams in, but they will
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: be in the play in. It'll be I guarantee, you'll
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: be more guarantees for SEC and Big ten teams to
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: get in well.
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: And that's just to me, that's not a good thing
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: because who would have gotten in Let's say it was
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: twenty four last year, who else is getting in from
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: the SEC.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: At that point, Alabama, bunch.
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: Alabama was in. They got their ass kicked by Indiana.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: Remember, Oh that's right, I'm sorry, uh Ole, miss oh
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: miss left Ole, Miss Georgia.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: All right, Georgia was in.
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: So you would have had like there was somebody with
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: the SEC that really complained.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: Who was it.
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: I'm drawing a black three. I don't think it was
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: Missouri that complained.
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: A bunch, I can't remember who. My point stands though,
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: that you're not gonna get good teams at twenty four.
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: The last twelve ten twelve teams are just gonna be booty.
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: Then they're they're never gonna win anything.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: So why expand were you for the expansion of the
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: NCAA Basketball Tournament? All right, because we're going to get
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: more bad teams into that tournament exactly into the play.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: But I think it makes it kind of exciting when
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: some of those bad teams make it.
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: Well, I mean, that's gonna help my team, no doubt
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: about it. But does that excite me? No, because if
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: you're not good enough to make sixty eight, then you're
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: not good enough to make the seventy six.
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: Well, see, it helps my team on the football side,
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: it's gonna help Kentucky potentially make the playoffs.
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: And that's whe has that opinion, And I get that.
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: Yeah, sure it is, sure it is now. If you
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: ask Kirby Smart, he doesn't like it. He said, you know,
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: at some point, we have to stop all this the
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: spending on nil and all this expansion, because all you're
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: doing is hurting the minor sports, the Olympic sports, because
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: there's going to come a point where they're gonna have
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: to do away with a lot of those sports, non
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: generating sports.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: Well, I mean, and he's right about that.
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: And on top of that, you're just, to me, in
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: my opinion, you're just watering it down. That's all you're doing.
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: You're you're taking an exciting format now and just saying, okay,
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: throwing a bone to twelve other schools, and that just
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: that makes it a worse product. In my mind.
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: I thought Mike Elko, the Texas A and M coach,
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: said it best about college football playoff expansion. He goes,
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: what does Mike Elko want? Forty? Then I don't get fired.
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: It's okay to make it hard to get to the playoff.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: None of us are answering for the good of the sport,
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: we're answering for the good of ourselves. And he's absolutely
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: one thousand percent correct, because it's not about making it
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: difficult to get in. It's about making it so much
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: easier that coaches never get fired.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: And he's right about that. So I just listen.
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: The more I see Mike Elko speak out, the more
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: I really like Mike Elko.
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: If you go up to twenty four, there are one
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: hundred and thirty eight FBS football teams, That is seventeen
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: percent of all teams are making the playoffs. That feels
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: like too much.
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: But should football be that difficult to make the because
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: it's easy to make, Well, it's a lot easier to
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: make college basketball tournament. Shouldn't it be a little easier
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: to make the college football tournament?
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: No? Never, it should be harder. Yeah, I mean think
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: it should be harder. Historically, winning a championship at the
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: college football level has always been harder than basketball. Now,
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: I just I do think the basketball tournament's more random
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: and you can get more goofy things happen. But no,
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: it should be harder to win a national championship in football.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: See, I would love to know three years back if
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: Justin Kalin would be making that same comment, because without
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: Indiana winning and Indiana being the standard team that they
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: were before, would you have answered that question the exact
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: same way. Yes, take your you would really think. I
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: find it hard to believe that you would. But okay,
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: I respect. We don't know, we don't act, we don't know.
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: By the way, twenty one of basketball teams make the
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: tournament with the new expansion, again, that feels like too many.
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: Well, the only part of the basketball expansion I think
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: we both agree on, because we've talked about it before,
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: is we do like to play in games. Yeah, and
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: I think that does make it fun. Now, I don't
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: want it to be at the same places. I mean,
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: it's just no offense to Dayton in Las Vegas. It
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: needs to be at different places because I think that's
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: kind of a big deal.
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: You know what. I'm not gonna gripe about this stuff
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: anymore because at the end of the day, it's more
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: games to gamble on and that's a lot.
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: It is it is, And it's more games to watch,
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: even if you're not a gambler. It's more games to watch.
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: Simple watching have fun because we're gonna watch either lousy
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: bowl games or not watch lousy bowl games. We might
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: get more invested in college football playoffs because more teams
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: are in it, So I might start watching them more
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: just to see the playoffs. Who's gonna make it onto
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: the next round?
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: I don't know. I think it'll make it more interesting.
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: Part of me doesn't like it, but the more that
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: I hear that people want it, it might make me
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: watch those games more than watching some insignificant bowl in
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: ames Iowa.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: Okay, so that's I'm not gonna watch those bowl games.
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: But why does it make it more interesting because your
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: team has a better chance to make it?
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: Sure, of course I want it because it gives Kentucky
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: a better chance.
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: Absolutely it does. Sixteen does two right, and not as
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: much of a chance. I just as much as I know,
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: I'm I listen. I'm optimistic about Will. I'm doing my
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: best to believe in him.
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: I'm very optimistic about him and the way he's recruiting.
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: But I got to have it proved on the field too.
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: It's not the one major step is recruiting. Yes, Number
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: two is show me wins on the field. Then guess
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: what my support will be there. Just like with Mark Pope.
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: I mean, I'm hesitant. I this year, I'm gonna be
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: really hesitant on how I feel about this team because
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: I gotta protect myself. I was full on board one
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: thousand percent last year. This is a championship type team
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: caliber team, and they weren't. So Mark Pope, He's kind
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: of started all over with me, and I think that's
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: where a lot of the fan bases today. I even
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: think a number of our listeners that are die hard
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: Mark Pope fans would agree with me. You know, let's
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: see it on the court next and then guess what.
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: I'll fully support it. If it doesn't, then you know,
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: Mark Pope, thank you very much, it might be time
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: to move on. So we'll have to see. Still haven't
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: heard about an athletic director, by the way, I mean,
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: it's just we're almost at the end of the beginning
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: of June and we have no athletic director. So anyway,
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: we're way overboard. We'll get back to your text as
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: soon as we get back five two four one four
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: fourteen fifty on the Whiskey Thief text line, or if
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: you want to call you and do that Fible two, three, eight, four,
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: fourteen fifty.
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: Uh, stay right there.
- 1:10:20Speaker 5: We got more justicicats coming by.
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: The right.
- 1:10:50Speaker 5: Changed that field.
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: I think you're being rude right there. Go ahead and
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: say what you just said off the air to me.
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: Go ahead, go ahead and make the comment I just said.
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: You had your mom Chillo Its song earlier and dream
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: on this is. You can go your own way interpret
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: it however you want.
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: I'm interpreted because you're a You're a grouchy old I
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: you basketball fan that's not getting his way in any
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: good players. But uh, anyway, yeah, this is a good song.
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: This is one of their best albums, by the way,
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: Fleetwood Mac.
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: Yeah. Lindsey Buckingham, Oh did you really No.
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: We've discussed that a million times.
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: Okay, I'm sorry. Okay, well that makes a million and one.
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: I I certainly want to apologize for that. I never
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: want to do that again, that's for certain. Uh did
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: you watch the Oklahoma City game last night versus San Antonio?
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: I watched about the first half and then I went
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: and laden and tried to listen to the second half,
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: but I didn't know. Oh boy, did not last very long?
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, the San Antonio coach was not happy
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: because they had that one play where the referees called
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: it in favor of Oklahoma City and only to find
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: out the ball had bounced off one of the Oklahoma
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: City players feet and he tried to call a time
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: out and the officials to have it reviewed so that
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: it could be overturned, and the officials would not call
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: a time out for him. I mean, there's always some
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: kind of unusual thing going on in officiating. I'd love
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: to know that's one of those times. I wish they
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: had been able to ask the officials, why didn't you
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: allow for that time out? Because a lot of people
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: are really screaming. Now san Antonio was crying about that
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: the entire time, but you know, they were down by
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: a bunch of points. You can't always just blame officiating
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: and that's it. Wimby didn't do a postgame media conference.
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: Would you think of that?
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: I mean, it wasn't one of his better games, so
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: I was it his choice? I guess, yes, yeah it was.
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: I mean I really don't have an issue with that.
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: You don't need to meet with the media after every.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: Game, Okay, all right, then, uh, I'm glad you.
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: Feel casem though you see his plus minus.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: Oh yeah, definitely, Yeah, what wasn't was it that much? Wow?
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: In a game they won by thirteen? That's incredible. Yeah,
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: it really is incredible. So I but you know, the
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: Knicks're home resting right now. It looks good for the
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: next Do you like that they're not playing right now?
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: Or do you think that puts a team uh at ease.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: And then they don't play in the well in the finals.
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: I mean, I think we've seen it work both ways
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: throughout the history of Yeah, obviously they just had like
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: a week rest before that cav series and we saw
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: how that turned out, So maybe it will be beneficial
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: to him. But look, Game seven is gonna be on Saturday,
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: I believe if if, if it goes to seven, and
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: then the NBA Finals doesn't start until Wednesday. So both
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: of these teams either way, however it chicks out are
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: gonna get a nice little brink.
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: Yeah, they are. One's gonna get more than the other
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: one though, that's for certain.
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: UK to play IU at Lucas al all Field on Friday,
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: November twentieth. Friday, yeah, yeah, which is the day before
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: UK football plays Missouri November twenty first in Colombia. I'm right,
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: so you you responded the same way I did.
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: It's like hate Friday games.
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: Well not just that, but do you like the fact
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: that it's this early again? U of l UK played
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: on November eleventh. It's not that much difference as far
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: as playing this game so early in the season. I
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: don't like this. A lot of IU fans are complaining, Well,
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: wait a minute. IU had to play at Reparina. Now
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: we're going to have to play UK in Indianapolis at
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: a place that's going to a venue that's going to
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: be you know, pretty much fifty to fifty. As far
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: as UK and IU fans. That doesn't necessarily bother you, no,
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: I mean that.
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: Was part of the deal. It was, well, we get
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: a home game eventually. I think in two years, I think,
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: I just I think after last year it goes back
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: to RUP and then Assembly All.
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: I just liked it when it was at Freedom Hall
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: and Lucas Oulfield or you know, RCA Dome at that time.
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I just liked it when it was that way.
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: To me, that was fun.
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: It was I mean, that was the epitome of college basketball,
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: when you had two rivalries get together two gigantic basketball
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: fan bases have fun. You got both cheerleading squads out there,
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: you know, circling the mid court party.
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: I mean it was fun.
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: You had fifty to fifty, you had blue on one
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: said red on the other side. And I just I
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: missed those states, and I just wish they could work
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: it out to where, Yeah, you play one of the
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: games Indnneapolis, you.
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: Play the other one in Louisville.
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: And if they're going to fix up Freedom Hall and
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: make it really nice again, then why not have it
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: at Freedom Hall. I don't know why U of L
- 1:16:14Speaker 3: is so scared of having UK play a game at
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: Young Center. That having the ability to play one game
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: on your own court. I don't care.
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: If you you've heard me see it multiple times, I
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: don't care if U of L plays a game at Reparina.
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: One game? What's that? The how's that?
- 1:16:30Speaker 3: A threat?
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: That just means nothing to me?
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: Now, nobody would show up and all the UFL fans
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: would be complaining, well, we got to drive all the
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: way to Lexing to go see our own team play.
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: But you know why it would do?
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: They would Well, I just whatever, Just go ahead and
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: keep your complaining. But anyway, forty A. Handley said, when
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: George Strait was here several years ago, he went to
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: the movies without his cowboy head on and no one
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: recognized him.
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: That makes sense. I wouldn't know what George Strait looked
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: like without a cowboy hat.
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: See. Would you know what Tim McGraw would look like
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: without a cowboy hat?
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: Yeah, because I've seen him and enough stuff without.
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: Oh have you really okay?
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: Friday?
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right, Friday Night Lights and blind Side? Would
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: you recognize Alan Jackson without a cowboy hat on?
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: Maybe I'd put it at like sixty five percent that
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: I would know who he was, just because isn't he
- 1:17:28Speaker 3: really tall? He's he is six' five and he's, bald
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: so he's gonna stick out like a. Sore THOUGH.
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: I don't. KNOW i MEAN i think people.
- 1:17:39Speaker 3: Will and he's got that mustache that's, recognizable.
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: You know The well that's, true, okay because you, know
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: one of the THINGS i always have a hard time
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: is recognizing baseball players when they're not in.
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: UNIFORM i would say football players probably get recognized less
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: than anybody else.
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: Think because they have helmet He, yeah BUT i think
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: most people recognize like for, instance, Uh Terry. Bradshaw, well
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: he's been out of football for a long. TIME i
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: mean you obviously would know the big.
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: Ones like if you Saw Josh allen out and, ABOUT
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: i would think you would know who he, was Or
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: Patrick mahomes or of.
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: COURSE i MEAN i would Definitely Josh.
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: ALLEN i mean you see him all the time at
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: THE uk, games so, YEAH i would definitely recognize.
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: Him, no That's Josh. Allen you just get over.
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: It But Tom, BRADY i think you would Recognize, yeah,
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: YEAH i think the big. Players you're definitely. RIGHT i
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: don't know IF i would Recognize Paul.
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: Schemes OH i, would would you? REALLY i mean he'd
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: be the guy with the blonde draped around. Him he's
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: got a kind of an ugly mustache as. WELL i
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: would recognize all.
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: Right one person, said my wife spent first couple of
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: months of her life In denver before her family moved To,
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: louisville making her believe her sports teams are In. Colorado
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: if that's the, case why WAS i the one staying
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: up watching The avalanche get eliminated while she's in seng.
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: Logs, wow that's a fair question right.
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: THERE i can't answer, that but you better ask your
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: question that your wife sounds.
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: Like, uh let's see.
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: Here one person said the college playoffs football playoffs shouldn't
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: have more teams in it than THE nfl playoffs.
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: Too.
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: Well, well but the problem, is Though Texter, jamie that
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: there aren't as many teams in THE nfl as they're
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: on college. Football there are a lot more teams so.
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: There to, me there should be more playoff games in
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: college football than there should be in THE.
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: NFL i can see it both. Ways i'm gonna.
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: All, Right, jamie Said.
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: Michael Sometimes i'd send in text just to see IF
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: i can crack you and scoots. Up well you do you?
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: Do do?
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: You and a lot of TIMES i will, Say, Jamie
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: i'm dying laughing during the break after reading your text.
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: Messages you make me laugh every, Day so just let you.

- 1:20:30Speaker 3: the people mowing grass behind. Me i'm just Too i'm.
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: Overstimulating, oh this is another thing going on over there
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: across the. Hall, NO i don't know.
- 1:20:39Speaker 3: WHAT i don't know what they're doing because their main
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: their main DJ's out of town this, week so they
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: got to fill in and they're just over there going.
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: BANANAS i don't know what's. HAPPENING i would be going
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: nuts IF i was. There so, okay well hopefully they're all.
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: Gone and you, Know michael didn't likes this quiet space
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: when he's there in the.
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: Studio it's really just the grass cutting on A wednesday
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: that gets it. Is.
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: Yeah see that's WHEN i have to cut the you,
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: KNOW i have to shut down the. Window the window

- 1:22:19Speaker 1: It is that? Move is that song in the Movie?
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: TED i don't remember that multiple?
- 1:22:23Speaker 3: Time is?
- 1:22:24Speaker 4: It?
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: Okay, OKAY i don't remember what being in? THERE i
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: do want to talk about.
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: This.
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: Uh yesterday a lot of people were talking ABOUT Uk
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: athletics tweeting That lexington is ranked as the number six
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: best food in the city for in The the thing
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: about it is.
- 1:22:46Speaker 3: No in the country number. Six, yes where Was? Louisville
- 1:22:55Speaker 3: they weren't. Ranked Does louisville's food seem not kick the
- 1:22:58Speaker 3: hell out Of lexington one thousand? PERCENT i mean no
- 1:23:02Speaker 3: offense to my friends In. Lexington all my friends in
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: lexnon listen to the. Show lexington does not even come
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: close To louisville as far as. Food and here's the
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: other crazy. Part that ranking was from twenty twenty. Five
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: it's not even from this. Year SO i didn't understand.
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: What first of, all why IS Uk athletics tweeting this?
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: Out and then on top of, all why.
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: Are they tweeting out something that is from last year
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: that you know is pretty. Bogus there are a couple
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: of good restaurants In, lexington but there aren't even as
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: close to as many In lexington as there is In.
- 1:23:42Speaker 3: Louisville when YOU i can't imagine you get the diversity
- 1:23:45Speaker 3: In lexington like you get.
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: Here, no not even. All i'm trying to think. What
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: There's tony's, there but that's a bit of a. Chain There's,
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: geno's WHICH i really. Like it's probably my. Favorite and
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: before the only place THAT i thought was the best
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: restaurant in lecas and it Was. Malones now it's In,
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: louisville and and no offense To, malones But malone's is
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: not the best restaurant In. Louisville Not, no it's not even.
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: Close they're a tough AND i believe. ME i am
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: a regular visitor At. Malones i'm there, probably if not
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: once a, week once every other. Week and it's not Just.
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: Malones it's the bar THAT i go to the. Most At,
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: MALONES i forget what the name of it, is BUT
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: i go there quite. Frequent you can't think of it either.
- 1:24:30Speaker 3: Aqua, something isn't?

- 1:25:28Speaker 3: I don't disagree with the twenty twenty five, thing BUT
- 1:25:30Speaker 3: i don't. Know couldn't it kind of be used as
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: a recruiting. Tool that may be a, stretch BUT i,
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: mean if somebody knows That lexington's at number six in

- 1:28:09Speaker 2: i'll take a pay, cut come play for The. Cavaliers
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: let's make a really good team out of, this and
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: it'll be my final, year and and we'll try and
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: use the money that you would have normally given me

- 1:28:21Speaker 3: Roster, YEAH i mean he could take the league. MINIMUM
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: i don't see why. NOT i, mean that would be

- 1:28:28Speaker 1: Time but, no it wouldn't be. Goofy you just said.
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: It Tom brady was famous for taking pay cuts so
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: they can give more money to linemen to protect him
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: or something to surround him with a great. Offense So
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: Patrick mahomes was very much way.

- 1:29:32Speaker 2: million and up to sixty million with. INCENTIVES i now

- 1:29:47Speaker 2: they sure. Do BUT i will say, this this is
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: the one THING i like About Matthew. Stafford when he
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: went to sign the, contract he took his entire, Family
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: AND i thought that was pretty cool that he did
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: something like. THAT i, MEAN i LOVE i love guys
- 1:30:02Speaker 2: like that that want to include their entire. Family but,
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: uh one person, SAID i remember the first mountain DEW
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: i ever saw in a pool room In, Hodgenville. Kentucky
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: i'm guessing sixty five or nineteen sixty.
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: SIX whoa? Wow, okay my goodness it was.
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: ORIGINALLY i want to say mountain dew was originally made
- 1:30:22Speaker 3: as a mixer for. Vodka maybe, really mountain dew was
- 1:30:27Speaker 3: originally made as a. MIXER i don't remember what fliquor
- 1:30:30Speaker 3: it was.
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: For but a bad. TAKE i don't care for mountain.
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: Dew i've never liked.
- 1:30:38Speaker 3: It jack me up except for the purple one BECAUSE

- 1:30:54Speaker 2: team Called tulsa or In, tulsa and he's running home
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: and running straight after he stepped on home. Plate he's
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: running to the bench and they have one of those
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: bat dogs that's retrieving the baseball. Bat he tries to
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: avoid running into the dog going to retrieve the bat
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: and injures himself and he loses his, mind takes his,
- 1:31:20Speaker 2: helmet spikes it.
- 1:31:21Speaker 3: Down but he ran from home to the. Dugout, yes
- 1:31:26Speaker 3: who do you?
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: Blame is it the dog's, fault the dog handler or
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: the player? Player SO i think the same. Thing and he's,
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: like he's, yelling he spikes his helmet. Down he's mad
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: because the stupid dog's up. There it's, like, no, dude
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: it's not the, dog it's. You you should have stopped.
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: Running you, know the dog is there and the dog
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: is doing his. Job don't blame the. Dog, well in, us.
- 1:31:51Speaker 3: As, humans we're smarter than any other, species but we
- 1:31:55Speaker 3: can also be pretty. Dumb and that feels like a
- 1:31:57Speaker 3: dumb thing to. Do you have to know that dogs are,
- 1:31:59Speaker 3: Dumb like dogs are gonna do whatever they. Want SO
- 1:32:04Speaker 3: i don't, know maybe walk and avoid it next time

- 1:32:12Speaker 2: dodgers which is, like, okay.
- 1:32:14Speaker 3: That makes it even more me think it's his fault.
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: Exactly that's kind of HOW i, felt because The dodgers
- 1:32:20Speaker 2: are always complaining about.
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: SOMETHING i don't.
- 1:32:23Speaker 2: Know before it was The Houston, astros you, know you
