  Speaker 2: We are in chapter fifteen and we're gonna go from
• 4:54
  Speaker 2: verse eleven all the way to verse twenty one. So
• 4:56
  Speaker 2: we are going to finish a whole nother book. And man,
• 5:04
  Speaker 2: thank you Lord, we're moving through the Book of Jeremiah.

  Speaker 2: I don't know about you, but this is really changing
• 5:12
  Speaker 2: my life and my walk with God. I'm learning not
• 5:15
  Speaker 2: to follow the evil dictates of my own heart. If
• 5:20
  Speaker 2: you don't get nothing else out that book, at least
• 5:22
  Speaker 2: get that much out. Like we cannot trust our heart.

  Speaker 2: We have to measure our thoughts, our motives, and our
• 5:29
  Speaker 2: desires with Guy's word. And the best way to do
• 5:33
  Speaker 2: that is if we are in the Word daily, and
• 5:36
  Speaker 2: that is what we help you to do here on

  Speaker 2: scripture now. Today We're gonna shift from judgment as we
• 6:17
  Speaker 2: saw the judgment that was coming upon Judah, and at
• 6:22
  Speaker 2: this point there is no remedy. God even told Jeremiah
• 6:28
  Speaker 2: not to even pray for them at this point. Even
• 6:30
  Speaker 2: if people like Moses and Elijah were to intercede, or
• 6:35
  Speaker 2: he said, not Elijah but Samuel the prophet, they were
• 6:40
  Speaker 2: to intercede for this nation, he would not change his
• 6:43
  Speaker 2: heart at all. They had it coming. You know, they
• 6:47
  Speaker 2: will not listen to his counsel. They would not listen
• 6:49
  Speaker 2: to his word. And I pray that we will not
• 6:54
  Speaker 2: cross that line in our relationship with God. Right this
• 6:58
  Speaker 2: is the sight of God that is not really being taught.
• 7:01
  Speaker 2: A lot of churches avoid these topics of judgment and
• 7:06
  Speaker 2: the wrath of God and things like that. But we
• 7:08
  Speaker 2: need to have a healthy balance of God's word. We
• 7:12
  Speaker 2: need the full counsel of God. Ay man, if we
• 7:15
  Speaker 2: have a healthy fear of God, that it will deter
• 7:18
  Speaker 2: us from living a life of sin and be in
• 7:21
  Speaker 2: las of daisical about sin. And a lot of pastors
• 7:25
  Speaker 2: are gonna be held accountable for leading their congregation straight
• 7:29
  Speaker 2: to the pits of hell. And I pray that this
• 7:34
  Speaker 2: podcast will help detore some people from a life being
• 7:41
  Speaker 2: comfortable in a life of sin. Amen, we need to
• 7:44
  Speaker 2: always repent and turn to God. God will help us
• 7:48
  Speaker 2: in this. And so now we're gonna shift from judgment
• 7:53
  Speaker 2: from a minute, and now we're going to look at
• 7:56
  Speaker 2: Jeremiah's conversation with God. It was a deep personal conversation.
• 8:03
  Speaker 2: He has some serious questions concerning that, concerning his ministry
• 8:11
  Speaker 2: as a prophet to the nation of Judah. He was
• 8:14
  Speaker 2: persecuted and he's just going before the Lord and he's
• 8:19
  Speaker 2: just hashing out with God. And I love it because
• 8:23
  Speaker 2: that's where we need to go when we have when
• 8:25
  Speaker 2: we're going through things we don't understand things, don't run
• 8:28
  Speaker 2: away from God. We need to go to God and
• 8:31
  Speaker 2: express our hearts. Trust me, he could take it, and
• 8:36
  Speaker 2: we're gonna see it right here in the book. So
• 8:38
  Speaker 2: in verse eleven, we're gonna take it all the way
• 8:44
  Speaker 2: to verse fourteen. Now, actually, let's back up the verse ten,
• 8:51
  Speaker 2: because this is where Jeremiah begins to speak about woe
• 8:58
  Speaker 2: is me? You know what I mean, as far as
• 8:59
  Speaker 2: he was born to this and he's just having a
• 9:02
  Speaker 2: hard time. So verse ten, what was me, my mother,
• 9:06
  Speaker 2: that you have bored me? A man of strife and
• 9:09
  Speaker 2: a man of contention to the whole earth. I have
• 9:14
  Speaker 2: neither lent for interest, nor have men lent to me
• 9:18
  Speaker 2: for interest. Every one of them curses me all right
• 9:25
  Speaker 2: verse eleven. This is where the Lord responds, surely it
• 9:31
  Speaker 2: will be well with your remnant. I mean verse eleven.
• 9:38
  Speaker 2: The Lord said, surely it will be well with your remnant.
• 9:41
  Speaker 2: Surely I will cause the enemy to introduce in what
• 9:51
  Speaker 2: is this word, intercede with you in the time of
• 9:56
  Speaker 2: adversity and in the time of affliction. So basically, God
• 10:01
  Speaker 2: is saying that he's going to cause the enemy to
• 10:05
  Speaker 2: take it easy on his profit. Amen. Can anyone break iron,
• 10:12
  Speaker 2: the northern iron, and the bronze for wealth and your treasuries.
• 10:19
  Speaker 2: I will give as plunder without price because of your sins,
• 10:27
  Speaker 2: though you're tear throughout your territories. And I will make
• 10:32
  Speaker 2: you cross over with your enemies into a land which
• 10:36
  Speaker 2: you do not know, for a fire is kindled in
• 10:40
  Speaker 2: my anger which shall burn upon you. Wow, now those
• 10:46
  Speaker 2: are some heavy words. I never want to be burnt
• 10:51
  Speaker 2: by the fire of God's anger. Amen. We don't want
• 10:54
  Speaker 2: to find ourselves there. So let's break it down now.
• 11:00
  Speaker 2: God begins by reassuring Jeremiah that God was not going
• 11:06
  Speaker 2: to abandon him right like I said that He's going
• 11:11
  Speaker 2: to cause an enemy to take it easier on Jeremiah.
• 11:13
  Speaker 2: Even through judgment, God promised that Jeremiah will utterly be preserved.
• 11:21
  Speaker 2: Now he may suffer a little bit, but he will
• 11:25
  Speaker 2: not be forgotten. And that God reminds Jeremiah that his
• 11:29
  Speaker 2: plans extend beyond the present hardship. So we have to
• 11:38
  Speaker 2: understand that faithfulness doesn't always remove hardship. Even though you
• 11:44
  Speaker 2: have been faithful to God to fulfill the call of God.
• 11:47
  Speaker 2: As a matter of fact, you might receive opposition if
• 11:53
  Speaker 2: I'm gonna be real with you, and I'm talking from
• 11:56
  Speaker 2: personal experience in my ministry. But He does guarantee what
• 12:03
  Speaker 2: he promises is his presence. He will be with us now.
• 12:09
  Speaker 2: He may not sure change this circumstance immediately, but He
• 12:14
  Speaker 2: promises to walk with us through them and Beloved, we
• 12:19
  Speaker 2: will soon learn that when God is all we have,
• 12:23
  Speaker 2: then God is all that we need. We think we
• 12:26
  Speaker 2: need all these other things in life, but truly what
• 12:31
  Speaker 2: we truly need is God in his presence. And that's
• 12:34
  Speaker 2: one thing that I love about my church. Fresh Wind
• 12:38
  Speaker 2: that I belong to. Pastor is always contending for the presence.
• 12:42
  Speaker 2: He's like, I don't care if we lose people, as
• 12:45
  Speaker 2: long as we don't lose the presence of God. Amen,
• 12:50
  Speaker 2: And that should always be our priority. All right? Fifteen
• 12:55
  Speaker 2: through eighteen, Oh Lord, you know, remember me and visit
• 13:01
  Speaker 2: me and take vengeance for me on my persecutors. Now, look,
• 13:08
  Speaker 2: Jeremiah is asking for vengeance, and the Bible tells us
• 13:13
  Speaker 2: that vengeance is mine. I really pay, says the Lord. Right,
• 13:19
  Speaker 2: And there's nothing wrong for asking God to fight our battles.
• 13:25
  Speaker 2: As a matter of fact, the Bible tells us to
• 13:26
  Speaker 2: hold our peace so that he can fight for us.
• 13:31
  Speaker 2: And right here is Jeremiah is explaining his situation and
• 13:36
  Speaker 2: pouring out his heart, and it says, in your enduring patience,
• 13:44
  Speaker 2: do not take me away. Know that for your sake,
• 13:51
  Speaker 2: I have suffered rebuke. Now that is powerful. We're going
• 13:55
  Speaker 2: to come back to that. The words were found and
• 14:00
  Speaker 2: I ate them, and your word was to me the
• 14:04
  Speaker 2: joy and rejoicing of my heart. Now, how many of
• 14:08
  Speaker 2: us have been there? I pray that we're there today.
• 14:11
  Speaker 2: I pray that's the reason why you lug on to
• 14:13
  Speaker 2: this podcast because the word of God is a joy
• 14:17
  Speaker 2: and rejoicing to our hearts. And then if I am
• 14:21
  Speaker 2: called by your name, O, Lord, God of Host, I
• 14:26
  Speaker 2: did not sit any assembly of the mockers, nor did
• 14:30
  Speaker 2: I rejoice, I said alone because of your hand. For
• 14:36
  Speaker 2: you have filled me with indignation. Why is my pain
• 14:42
  Speaker 2: perpetual and my wounds incurable, which refuses to be healed?
• 14:50
  Speaker 2: Will you surely be to me like an unreliable stream
• 14:56
  Speaker 2: as waters that fail. Wow, Now this is a deep
• 15:02
  Speaker 2: question that he's asking God. And like I said, you know,
• 15:06
  Speaker 2: he's gonna get personal. He's gonna get wrong with God.
• 15:11
  Speaker 2: And let's break this down a little bit. Because he
• 15:14
  Speaker 2: pours out his heart. Then he reminds God that the
• 15:19
  Speaker 2: ridicule and the persecution that he's enduring in his life
• 15:24
  Speaker 2: is because of he chose, is because he chose to
• 15:29
  Speaker 2: be faithful to the call of God. Hey man, the
• 15:34
  Speaker 2: Bible says, blessed are those who are persecuted for my sake. Amen.
• 15:40
  Speaker 2: And also he says that God's word once brought him joy.
• 15:50
  Speaker 2: Your words found me and I ate them, and your
• 15:53
  Speaker 2: word was to me the joy of rejoicing in my heart.
• 15:59
  Speaker 2: Now that the word Ephim was actually in the Hebrew
• 16:03
  Speaker 2: it means he devoured. He devoured the word of God. Amen.
• 16:08
  Speaker 2: He was hungry for the word. Amen. And that's one
• 16:12
  Speaker 2: thing we need to do. We need to make sure
• 16:14
  Speaker 2: we stay hungry for God's word. But now he feels isolated,
• 16:21
  Speaker 2: he feels wounded, and he feels overwhelmed because of the word.
• 16:28
  Speaker 2: Then he asked a painful question right here. He says,
• 16:31
  Speaker 2: will you surely be to me liking unreliable stream? That
• 16:40
  Speaker 2: is a hard question. Jeremiah at this point is emotionally exhausted.
• 16:50
  Speaker 2: How many of us have found ourselves there? How many
• 16:52
  Speaker 2: of us have asked, God, do you care? How many
• 16:57
  Speaker 2: of us have been in this situation for so long?
• 17:00
  Speaker 2: Only we're just emotionally done with it, right. We just
• 17:05
  Speaker 2: want closure, We just want this to be done. And
• 17:11
  Speaker 2: he goes to God and he asked us question. I
• 17:13
  Speaker 2: love it. I love the fact that he's just honest
• 17:17
  Speaker 2: and he's just raw, and he just tells him how
• 17:21
  Speaker 2: he truly feels. Right, So instead of hiding his feelings,
• 17:30
  Speaker 2: he brings them and he's honest before God. Now God
• 17:34
  Speaker 2: can handle our honest prayer, and man, he invites us
• 17:41
  Speaker 2: to bring him our fears, our frustrations, and all of
• 17:44
  Speaker 2: our disappointments. Faith does not ignore pain. Faith in God
• 17:52
  Speaker 2: doesn't mean that we have to act like everything's hunky dory,
• 17:56
  Speaker 2: everything is perfect. It doesn't mean that we have to
• 18:00
  Speaker 2: act like we don't go through nothing. What faith actually
• 18:06
  Speaker 2: does it brings our pain to God. Instead of turning
• 18:11
  Speaker 2: to alcohol or drugs, or turning to pornography, or turning
• 18:16
  Speaker 2: to violence, or running away or trying to fight in
• 18:20
  Speaker 2: all these things. No, we turn to God in the
• 18:24
  Speaker 2: midst of our pain. Hey man, Remember the Holy Spirit
• 18:29
  Speaker 2: promises to be our comforter. Have you allowed the Holy
• 18:35
  Speaker 2: Spirit to comfort you lately? Hey man? All right, let's
• 18:43
  Speaker 2: take it from verse nineteen to twenty one. Now this
• 18:50
  Speaker 2: is where God gives reassurance to Jeremiah. Therefore, thus says Lord,
• 18:58
  Speaker 2: if you return, then I will bring you back. You
• 19:02
  Speaker 2: shall stand before me if you take out the well.
• 19:10
  Speaker 2: How come I can't read you today the precise, precise
• 19:14
  Speaker 2: from the theil I'm gonna have to come back to
• 19:19
  Speaker 2: that you shall be as my mouth. Let them return
• 19:25
  Speaker 2: to you, but you must not return to them, And
• 19:30
  Speaker 2: I will make you to this people of fortified bronze
• 19:34
  Speaker 2: wall Now this is God's protection. We need to add
• 19:38
  Speaker 2: this to our prayer list. Lord, make me a fortified
• 19:41
  Speaker 2: bronze wall to those who persecute me. Amen, and they
• 19:47
  Speaker 2: will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you.
• 19:52
  Speaker 2: I am with you to save you and deliver you,
• 19:55
  Speaker 2: says the Lord. I will deliver you from the hands
• 19:59
  Speaker 2: of the wicked, and I will redeem you from the
• 20:02
  Speaker 2: grip of the terrible. Wow, now this is amazing. Now
• 20:09
  Speaker 2: this kind of shows us the type of people that
• 20:13
  Speaker 2: God is judging. Right, he called them wicked and terrible,
• 20:19
  Speaker 2: and it's kind of like, Wow, No, wonder why, Like
• 20:23
  Speaker 2: this judgment makes sense. How many people do we know
• 20:27
  Speaker 2: that are wicked and that are terrible? Hey? Man, Now
• 20:34
  Speaker 2: at this point God responds to him with grace and
• 20:39
  Speaker 2: with correction. He tells him, if you return, then I
• 20:43
  Speaker 2: will bring you back. Now, God is not rejecting Jeremiah.
• 20:48
  Speaker 2: He's calling him to renew his focus. We have to
• 20:53
  Speaker 2: readjust and we have to refocus from time to time.
• 20:58
  Speaker 2: Jeremiah was struggling. We had a hard ministry. Imagine watching
• 21:03
  Speaker 2: your whole nation judged by God and not one person
• 21:09
  Speaker 2: wants to listen to you. I mean, you would feel
• 21:12
  Speaker 2: isolated in that situation. Right it comes one of the
• 21:18
  Speaker 2: most powerful statements in the chapter. Let them return to you,
• 21:23
  Speaker 2: but you must not return to them. What does God mean?
• 21:29
  Speaker 2: What does it say right here? You will not return
• 21:31
  Speaker 2: to them? In other words, don't lower God's standard to
• 21:35
  Speaker 2: gain people's approval. That's a t shirt right there. Don't
• 21:41
  Speaker 2: lower God's standards just to gain people's approval. We need
• 21:49
  Speaker 2: to stand firm. That's one thing we preach in our church.
• 21:53
  Speaker 2: We have a standard, right and we need to live
• 21:57
  Speaker 2: up to that standard. And even in our household, we
• 22:00
  Speaker 2: have a standard. We need to remain faithful. Let people
• 22:05
  Speaker 2: come to God's truth instead of compromising the truth to
• 22:10
  Speaker 2: fit our culture. We need to bring them up to
• 22:14
  Speaker 2: the standard of God, the standard of live in holiness
• 22:18
  Speaker 2: and sanctification and a life of faithfulness. This is what
• 22:22
  Speaker 2: God requires. On the day of judgment, we will either
• 22:26
  Speaker 2: hear one or two words. Will either hear to depart
• 22:30
  Speaker 2: from me, I neverne you or well done good in
• 22:34
  Speaker 2: faithful servant. God is looking for good in faith. Faithfulness
• 22:40
  Speaker 2: has to be in our DNA. If we're gonna make
• 22:44
  Speaker 2: it in ask God to make us faithful servants and
• 22:48
  Speaker 2: then God is the one who will call us good.
• 22:50
  Speaker 2: He will judge us. Amen. But that is what we
• 22:55
  Speaker 2: need to strive for. Now. His promises right, I will
• 23:06
  Speaker 2: make you to this people of fortified bronze wall. Now,
• 23:11
  Speaker 2: Jeremiah's strength wouldn't come from himself. His strength will come
• 23:16
  Speaker 2: from God. So, if you're facing persecution, if you are
• 23:21
  Speaker 2: discouraged in your call of God and love it. I'm
• 23:25
  Speaker 2: preaching to myself because I went through this. We need
• 23:28
  Speaker 2: to tap into our source of power and encouragement. And
• 23:34
  Speaker 2: I'm especially speaking to men because we are to lead
• 23:37
  Speaker 2: our families. But we need to tap into our strength.
• 23:41
  Speaker 2: We need to submit to Christ and ask God to
• 23:44
  Speaker 2: strengthen us. And we need to live the standard. We
• 23:48
  Speaker 2: need to lift the standard in our households, holiness and sanctification.
• 23:53
  Speaker 2: We need to pray over our families. Amen. Now, God
• 24:00
  Speaker 2: welcomes honest prayer. And also discouragement does not disqualify us
• 24:12
  Speaker 2: from serving him. We're going to get discouraged from time
• 24:16
  Speaker 2: to time. Amen. God's correction is evidence of his love.
• 24:25
  Speaker 2: God will correct us. He doesn't correct other people's kids, right,
• 24:30
  Speaker 2: He only corrects his own children. So if God is
• 24:33
  Speaker 2: correcting you, maybe through this podcast, or maybe the Holy
• 24:37
  Speaker 2: Spirit is dealing with you. That is a good sign
• 24:41
  Speaker 2: that you are in his family. Amen. Submit to the correction.
• 24:48
  Speaker 2: Never compromise God's truth to gain acceptance. Right. He said
• 24:53
  Speaker 2: that you are going to return to the people, but
• 24:55
  Speaker 2: do not return to them. Do not allow your life
• 24:59
  Speaker 2: to fall to their standards. Amen. And God strengthens those
• 25:04
  Speaker 2: who remain faithful. When the world pressures us to change
