- 0:22let us rejoice for. We are one and three used to be.
- 0:26We are young and free but now it says, but we are one and free.
- 0:30Yeah, well, I think over the last couple of years, the one in
- 0:32three has been speedily changing.
- 0:35I'll read this story to you. Let me know what you think.
- 0:37This headline says police drop anti lock down incitement charge
- 0:42against Ballarat. Woman, Zoey Bueller.
- 0:45Now, you may remember what happened with this article.
- 0:49This is all to do with the lockdowns that happened in
- 0:51Victoria, and Victoria was was quickly, running towards
- 0:56becoming a police state, all because of the, the Year the
- 1:00incitement to fear the rallying cry from the media that we all
- 1:04have to be scared and be locked down and our politicians
- 1:08inciting fear upon us. It was disgusting.
- 1:12Anyway, look, I'll read the stories.
- 1:13Isabella at woman who was charged with inciting others to
- 1:17breach a state lockdown. Has had a case thrown out of
- 1:21court. Zoe Beulah was arrested in her
- 1:24Ballarat home. In September 2020 while she was
- 1:27pregnant the mother of three life.
- 1:29Streamed her arrest showing police handcuffing her in a
- 1:33video that later went viral and sparked concerns and from the
- 1:37Australian Human Rights Commission, the arrest came
- 1:41after she created a protest event on social media, citing
- 1:45concerns that she had about the impacts of lockdowns.
- 1:49During the pandemic, in the Ballarat magistrates court, this
- 1:53morning police prosecution applied to have the charge
- 1:56struck out, which was approved by magistrates.
- 2:00Mock stratman in a statement. Victorian police said they
- 2:04withdrew the single charge following an assessment of the
- 2:07case determining. It was not in the public
- 2:10interest to continue with the prosecution.
- 2:13Miss Beulah. Now, 30 years old says she was
- 2:16relieved but had no regrets outside the court.
- 2:19This morning she says I think it's disgusting, our rights and
- 2:22freedoms were taken away. I pretty much felt that way.
- 2:26The whole time is Beulah set off, you can still be
- 2:28considering my options. Options going forward especially
- 2:31with regards to being handcuffed.
- 2:33While pregnant Is Beulah says she believed she had been
- 2:36experiencing Prosper, post-traumatic stress disorder
- 2:41and the legal costs of contesting.
- 2:43The incitement charges had been a bird cost will be agreed upon
- 2:48between the parties at a later date.
- 2:52So in March 2020, the Victorian Chief Health officer and
- 2:56Commonwealth Health, Minister were granted special powers to
- 2:59issue to issue. Lockdowns, if necessary to
- 3:03minimize the rate of transmission of covid-19, they
- 3:07have a not enacted a lockdown in Victoria since October 20. 21 in
- 3:12the end, Justice will be served where it is needed.
- 3:17It's important to stand up for what is Right.
- 3:19Miss Beulah said, I guess my message for Dan Andrews, who's
- 3:23the premier 444 Victoria, it just in case you're not from
- 3:28Australia. So I guess my message for Dan
- 3:31Andrews would be. I hope one day you'll have your
- 3:34day in court. So another article which I'll
- 3:38read and this is an opinion piece really from reporter
- 3:42Andrew bolt. This says something rotten in
- 3:45the state of Victoria goes on to say that Sky News host.
- 3:49Andrew bolt says, there was Court Victory today, which
- 3:53underlines something is rotten in the state of Victoria.
- 3:57So, Victoria Police today dropped yet another charge they
- 4:00laid in the lockdown? Mr. Bolted.
- 4:03A charge of incitement against Zoe Bueller, who's a pregnant
- 4:06woman who was arrested two years ago in a home.
- 4:09Handcuffed in front of her children for riding a social
- 4:12media post, promoting a protest against Premier, Daniel Andrews,
- 4:17cruel lockdowns. Now, the footage of that arrest.
- 4:21It went around the world Victoria's, shame was seen by 10
- 4:24million people, mr. Bolt said, police, dropped the
- 4:28case after two years of worry and after she was treated like a
- 4:33public menace. Miss Beulah was told nah not in
- 4:37the public interest to continue. He said, so listen, I do happen
- 4:40to know a little bit about about policing about law enforcement.
- 4:45This is a common tactic. I think it's actually it's it's
- 4:49disgusting. It should not be allowed.
- 4:51But it is a common tactic, it's a bullying tactic used by police
- 4:56to intimidate and Bully. The public.
- 5:00They will charge you with something like this incitement
- 5:02for this. Zoe Bueller, and then just hang
- 5:04the charge, over your head for whatever time frame.
- 5:08They deem necessary. And at any time, they could have
- 5:13pulled the charges at any time, they did not have to go for two
- 5:17years hanging overhead. And then at the very last minute
- 5:20goes to, Court, Toria police, just withdraw.
- 5:24The single charge following an assessment of the case, really?
- 5:29An assessment of the case you couldn't assess the case before
- 5:33two years and then they determine no.
- 5:35No, it's not in the public interest to continue with the
- 5:39prosecution that assessment could have been done the day
- 5:42after the arrest that assessment could have been done the day of
- 5:46the arrest. They could have gone there
- 5:48spoken to miss Beulah, given her a Warning.
- 5:52You know, I advised her against what you done, after to take the
- 5:56post down Rick, given her a warning or they could have, they
- 6:00could have still gone ahead with the arrest done the charge.
- 6:03It could have been pulled, literally the next day, a couple
- 6:06of days later they would have known a long time ago.
- 6:09Prosecutors would have known that they would have had it in
- 6:12mind. Know.
- 6:13We're probably going to have to pull this charge.
- 6:16It's not in the public interest. It was never in the public
- 6:18interest, but what police do. What they're allowed to do in
- 6:22this country. And it is disgusting that they
- 6:25are allowed to do this. They are allowed to charge
- 6:29people and then hold it over your head.
- 6:32You cannot move on with your life.
- 6:34You are, you caught up in a quagmire of legal costs of
- 6:38worried. You can't, you know, if you were
- 6:40going for another job and then they do a background check.
- 6:43Well, then this would come out that, you know, you've got this
- 6:46charge hanging over your head, you cannot just move on with
- 6:49your life, and they're allowed. To hold you back.
- 6:53It's despicable action that they are allowed to take.
- 6:56As I said, it is bullying and intimidation.
- 6:59This is government-sanctioned bullying and intimidation and it
- 7:03should not be allowed to happen. Australians all let us rejoice
- 7:11for. We are one and three.
- 7:12I don't think so. We continue on our slide to
- 7:17becoming a police state. The police need to be held.
- 7:22More accountable are state governments.
- 7:24Our politicians need to be held more accountable.
- 7:28You should not be allowed to intimidate people with these
- 7:33kinds of tactics to bully people with these kinds of tactics.
- 7:37It could have been dealt with two years ago, but they they
- 7:41made a choice. The prosecutors, the police in
- 7:44Victoria made a choice to hold this over.
- 7:48Mrs. Buell is head for two years.
- 7:50They I made that choice. They should be made to answer.
- 7:54Why did they allow this to go on for that long?
- 7:58Because they don't have to pay for anything.
- 8:00It's all the public purse apace. The the taxpayer that pays for
- 8:04the prosecution, the pays for it to go to court, that doesn't
- 8:07cost them. Anything doesn't cost the
- 8:09individual anything so when everything just gets billed back
- 8:13to the government, well then the people the people doing it,
- 8:17don't care. There's no cost that they can
- 8:20see. So they don't care the taxpayer
- 8:23funds, the bill, they'll just keep running the bill Higher and
- 8:26Higher. And then at the last second,
- 8:28They pull it and say oh no sorry about that.
- 8:31Will just it's not in the Public's interest.
- 8:33We could have decided that a long time ago.
- 8:36We knew that from the start but we like to intimidate we like to
- 8:40bully. That's my opinion.
- 8:44Thank you for listening to the slippery slope.
