Latest / The Dream Team / Dream Team: Week 6
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It's time to set your lineup with the Dream Team.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Here's Jim Zoki and John Halpin.
- 0:09Speaker 1: All right, time for the Panthers to get back to work.
- 0:11Speaker 1: We never stopped. We were directing the bi-weekly podcast, and
- 0:14Speaker 1: now we're back for the edition heading into the road
- 0:16Speaker 1: game at the Philadelphia Eagles. And, John, if you've got
- 0:20Speaker 1: a lot of Panthers star players on your offensive side,
- 0:23Speaker 1: and there are a couple of them, you're hoping they're
- 0:25Speaker 1: not rusty and they were working hard and not just
- 0:27Speaker 1: doing TV and picking college games and doing all that
- 0:30Speaker 1: kind of stuff.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Bryce Young is everywhere, isn't he? I mean, it's great. Yeah.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Hey, they earned a week off and lots of pats
- 0:40Speaker 3: on the back and appearances and things because this offense
- 0:43Speaker 3: has been fantastic.
- 0:44Speaker 1: And Bryce Young still among the league leaders. Now he's
- 0:46Speaker 1: had the bye week, so maybe not in total yards,
- 0:48Speaker 1: but yards per game. He's right up there. Obviously had
- 0:52Speaker 1: nine touchdowns prior to that. And we talked last week,
- 0:55Speaker 1: you know, T-Mac, what an incredible performance. We don't know
- 0:58Speaker 1: today about Jalen Coker. You would think things are trending
- 1:01Speaker 1: in a positive way, the way they're talking, that Jalen
- 1:03Speaker 1: Coker would play. But we don't expect 14 catches, 192 yards,
- 1:06Speaker 1: and two touchdowns, I guess, from TMAC again this week.
- 1:09Speaker 2: No, we don't.
- 1:09Speaker 3: I mean, with the over-under at 39.5 in this game,
- 1:12Speaker 3: we probably expect a more modest performance across the board.
- 1:17Speaker 3: With that said, with Coker coming back, you've got two
- 1:20Speaker 3: fantasy receivers here that can play well so far this season.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Ted Roe, McMillan, wide receiver, 9 in fantasy. Jalen Coker,
- 1:25Speaker 3: wide receiver, 11. That's in points per game because they've
- 1:27Speaker 3: had the bye week. But everybody, I mean, Chuba's been great.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Bryce has been great. T-Mac and Coker have been great.
- 1:33Speaker 3: This is just fantasy goodness everywhere for the Panthers.
- 1:37Speaker 1: And, yeah, Chuba, you mentioned. I mean, he's really looking
- 1:40Speaker 1: like an RB1 once again. I mean, he's taken the load.
- 1:44Speaker 1: We thought heading in a few weeks ago it's going
- 1:46Speaker 1: to be him and Jonathan Brooks. And then we even thought, well,
- 1:49Speaker 1: maybe it's going to be Dylan stealing some things. But
- 1:51Speaker 1: it's like he has really become the workhorse.
- 1:53Speaker 2: He really has.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:54Speaker 3: So far, the only backs ahead of him, look at this, Gibbs,
- 1:57Speaker 3: Kenneth Walker, Bijan, Derrick Henry, Kyron Williams, Jonathan Taylor. Those
- 2:00Speaker 3: are the only fantasy running backs that have more points
- 2:02Speaker 3: per game than Chuba. He's really stepped up. Since four
- 2:07Speaker 3: weeks ago, we were at tandem stage, and now we're
- 2:10Speaker 3: at Chuba workhorse stage, and he has just really stepped up.
- 2:14Speaker 1: So we're not playing the most explosive offense this week.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Is the Panthers' defense a factor as far as streaming
- 2:21Speaker 1: a defense this week?
- 2:23Speaker 3: I don't think so. just because of how banged up
- 2:27Speaker 3: they are. I don't know that I can go that far.
- 2:30Speaker 3: And part of me is looking at this game, it's
- 2:33Speaker 3: almost like, I hate to say this, but it's the
- 2:36Speaker 3: movable force meets, what is that? The immovable force meets the,
- 2:39Speaker 3: I don't know what object. I'm losing my train of
- 2:41Speaker 3: thought here. But it's kind of the opposite because the
- 2:43Speaker 3: Panthers defense has been very permissive and the Eagles offense
- 2:47Speaker 3: has been very bad. So what's going to win out?
- 2:50Speaker 3: I think the Eagles will probably But they might be
- 2:53Speaker 3: in the 20s somewhere. They won't be good, but the Panthers' defense.
- 2:58Speaker 3: It's weird because the Panthers have the cornerbacks out, but
- 3:00Speaker 3: the Eagles might not have Devontae Smith again. And their
- 3:03Speaker 3: receiving core is kind of meh.
- 3:06Speaker 1: And they don't have any running backs. So we'll see.
- 3:08Speaker 1: We're still in the discovery phase of what is the
- 3:14Speaker 1: injury situation there. I know he didn't practice yesterday. Saquon
- 3:18Speaker 1: Barkley did not. It's a hamstring injury. And those are
- 3:20Speaker 1: always a little bit different because they tend to lean
- 3:22Speaker 1: on the side of giving it more time to have
- 3:24Speaker 1: a setback.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Right.
- 3:26Speaker 3: And the weird thing there is, you know, Barkley got
- 3:28Speaker 3: hurt two weeks ago. And as soon as he went out,
- 3:32Speaker 3: Tank Bixby came in and he got hurt. Now he's
- 3:33Speaker 3: on injury reserve. And then Will Shipley played last week
- 3:37Speaker 3: and he got hurt and he's out for a few weeks.
- 3:39Speaker 3: And now they're down to Damian Pierce, who they kind
- 3:40Speaker 3: of grabbed off the street. And, you know, he had
- 3:42Speaker 3: 11 carries for 14 yards against the Jags. I mean,
- 3:46Speaker 3: he's kind of, you know, next man up. And we
- 3:48Speaker 3: like to chase volume at running back. But, I mean,
- 3:51Speaker 3: Damian Pierce hasn't carried more than 40 times in three years.
- 3:55Speaker 3: So I don't know how much you can really expect
- 3:57Speaker 3: from it. I think it's a reach to expect a
- 3:59Speaker 3: lot from him, even if you think the Panthers might
- 4:01Speaker 3: struggle on defense.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Yeah. And Jalen Hurts is running, but not as much
- 4:06Speaker 1: as he used to run. So he's not a big factor.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Devontae Smith, you mentioned. We will see about his injuries there.
- 4:13Speaker 1: I did get back. He was sitting on my bench
- 4:16Speaker 1: because he was hurt. Dallas Goddard, and they got him
- 4:19Speaker 1: involved quickly last week. It wasn't huge numbers, but somebody's
- 4:22Speaker 1: got to be the guy, and Dallas Goddard, certainly as
- 4:24Speaker 1: far as tight ends go, is probably a pretty good play, right?
- 4:26Speaker 3: Yeah, Dallas Goddard got some catches last week. He missed
- 4:29Speaker 3: a couple of games, and last week he bounced back
- 4:31Speaker 3: a bit. I think he's probably the only receiver I'd
- 4:34Speaker 3: play unless I was in some sort of bi-week or
- 4:36Speaker 3: injury week pinch. Devontae Smith is out. Do you want
- 4:40Speaker 3: to play Dontavian Wicks?
- 4:41Speaker 2: No.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Darius Cooper, he's got He's caught some touchdowns in the
- 4:45Speaker 3: last couple of games, but he's got five catches in
- 4:47Speaker 3: two weeks.
- 4:48Speaker 2: I don't think I want to go for any of
- 4:49Speaker 2: these Eagles receivers.
- 4:52Speaker 1: All right, so teams that are not playing and players
- 4:54Speaker 1: on those teams not playing are the Bengals, the Lions,
- 4:57Speaker 1: the Dolphins, and Vikings. So kind of a potpourri of
- 5:01Speaker 1: some really good teams and a really bad one, the Dolphins,
- 5:04Speaker 1: because the Bengals, Lions, and Vikings supply a lot of
- 5:07Speaker 1: fantasy points. Probably not so much the Miami Dolphins anyone's
- 5:10Speaker 1: going to worry about.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Oh, awful.
- 5:11Speaker 3: I was hoping for Malik Willis in the beginning of
- 5:13Speaker 3: the season, but, and then HN got hurt. It's just
- 5:16Speaker 3: a disaster down there. That's a, that offense is just,
- 5:18Speaker 3: you just stay away. It's too bad that you just
- 5:20Speaker 3: got to take a team and just cross them off
- 5:22Speaker 3: the board and fantasy altogether.
- 5:25Speaker 1: All right. So Lamar Jackson, we don't know, but it
- 5:29Speaker 1: sounds like there's at least some encouraging signs that he
- 5:32Speaker 1: could play against Cleveland this week because he tries to
- 5:34Speaker 1: come back with an ankle injury.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Yeah, he didn't practice Wednesday.
- 5:37Speaker 3: The coaching staff says they're hopeful, and that's hard to say.
- 5:41Speaker 3: We're doing this Thursday morning, so there's not a lot
- 5:43Speaker 3: we can tell from there. It's going to be a
- 5:44Speaker 3: wait and see, unfortunately. Hopefully, Lamar will get back.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Caleb Williams, I don't know. Is he expected to come
- 5:52Speaker 1: back this week? I mean, it's been a month, so
- 5:54Speaker 1: you'd think it'd be about that time.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Yeah, he practiced fully on Wednesday, so he should be
- 5:59Speaker 3: ready to roll this week against the Falcons. I have
- 6:01Speaker 3: good news for All those people who bet on the
- 6:03Speaker 3: Bears leading the history of football and scoring.
- 6:07Speaker 1: DJ Moore with a shoulder injury. Still seeing what's going
- 6:12Speaker 1: on with him. I made the mistake of picking up
- 6:14Speaker 1: Keon Coleman last week. Thank God he got a touchdown.
- 6:17Speaker 1: I think I would have gotten like one point if
- 6:19Speaker 1: he hadn't scored that touchdown.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Yeah, that was quite a game.
- 6:21Speaker 3: That game looked bad in the middle of the third
- 6:23Speaker 3: quarter and then it really picked up. But yeah, you're
- 6:25Speaker 3: right about Keon Coleman. The thing with that team, the
- 6:28Speaker 3: way Josh Allen is– I know we've talked about this
- 6:31Speaker 3: every week and that you picked him in the second
- 6:33Speaker 3: round of a draft, but with all the rushing touchdowns
- 6:35Speaker 3: and he ran for over 100 yards and a touchdown again,
- 6:39Speaker 3: it's weird that you see this high-powered offense and the
- 6:41Speaker 3: receivers aren't doing a ton because the quarterback's just running everywhere.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Yeah, that's not sustainable probably. It's going to be a
- 6:47Speaker 1: long season for him trying to run that much. A.J. Brown,
- 6:50Speaker 1: they're waiting all season for him. For those who have A.J. Brown,
- 6:53Speaker 1: is it time? Is he going to be active this week?
- 6:56Speaker 2: They don't know.
- 6:56Speaker 3: They opened the window because he was on injury reserve,
- 6:58Speaker 3: so he's got three weeks to return. But he was
- 7:02Speaker 3: back at practice Wednesday limited, I think. They're hoping he
- 7:05Speaker 3: gets back. I'd have a backup plan, but I'd be
- 7:09Speaker 3: optimistic that A.J. Brown is going to be back this week.
- 7:12Speaker 1: And then stay in the New England. Obviously, Travion Henderson
- 7:14Speaker 1: will be out for a while. But if you got
- 7:16Speaker 1: Ramondre Stevenson, you're in good shape there.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Yeah, that thing looked like it was taking a turn
- 7:22Speaker 3: in week two or week three that Ramondre, who you
- 7:24Speaker 3: drafted in the sixth round, was not going to go well.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Then the last two weeks, he's got 16 touches each.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Travion Henderson's got a high ankle sprain, so that's usually
- 7:32Speaker 3: a four-week.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Kind of deal. Ramondre Stevenson, arrows pointing up if you
- 7:36Speaker 2: got him right now.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Okay, let's see. Jets always have an injury. Brees Hall,
- 7:41Speaker 1: where are we with Brees Hall?
- 7:43Speaker 2: Brees Hall still not practicing well.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Still Braylon Allen leading the way, getting basically every carry
- 7:50Speaker 3: for the Jets.
- 7:52Speaker 1: I get, I suppose, Miley's fantasy league recommendations. And at
- 7:57Speaker 1: the top has been Woody Marks this week. Are you
- 7:59Speaker 1: on the Woody Marks Houston train or what do you
- 8:01Speaker 1: think about him?
- 8:02Speaker 3: I think Woody Marks is OK. It's an opportunity thing
- 8:06Speaker 3: over a talent thing. But Montgomery's got a groin injury.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Doesn't sound like he's going to play. And they're playing
- 8:13Speaker 3: the Jags in London. The Jags defense is pretty good.
- 8:15Speaker 3: So if you have Woody Marks, if you don't start
- 8:18Speaker 3: him this week, you're never going.
- 8:19Speaker 2: To start him. So go with him.
- 8:22Speaker 1: All right. So I was dumpster diving in one of
- 8:24Speaker 1: my leagues where I think I told you we have
- 8:26Speaker 1: one league. We have a small roster and like 12,
- 8:29Speaker 1: 13 players. And there's more players available. And somehow I'm
- 8:33Speaker 1: sifting through because I do it by stats. And there's
- 8:35Speaker 1: Ladd McConkie sitting down there because he's been injured. He
- 8:37Speaker 1: doesn't really have a lot of stats. So he's kind
- 8:39Speaker 1: of buried down there. I picked him up, of course.
- 8:42Speaker 1: I think I might have found some gold. I would
- 8:44Speaker 1: think if he's healthy, maybe not this week, but next week,
- 8:46Speaker 1: that's going to be at least the best player that
- 8:48Speaker 1: the Chargers have.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Yeah, it sounds like he might return this week. And
- 8:53Speaker 3: it's weird. I think the logic behind that one, I'm
- 8:55Speaker 3: with you. I'm going to start him in the league
- 8:57Speaker 3: this week. I picked him in probably the third round,
- 8:59Speaker 3: which was not great. But I look at this one
- 9:02Speaker 3: and I just keep going, it can't stay this bad,
- 9:04Speaker 3: can it? How did this all happen? And, I mean,
- 9:08Speaker 3: you know, they're in the committee backfield, so Hampton's kind
- 9:11Speaker 3: of a lost cause. But McConkie, when he was healthy
- 9:14Speaker 3: in the first couple of weeks, was pretty clearly the
- 9:17Speaker 3: guy in their receiving game. So once he's healthy again,
- 9:21Speaker 3: hopefully this week, like you said, maybe more next week,
- 9:24Speaker 3: is a guy who, and if the Chargers are going
- 9:26Speaker 3: to keep losing, they're going to keep throwing. So you
- 9:28Speaker 3: think McConkie's going to bounce back, hopefully have a good
- 9:29Speaker 3: second half of the season.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Every year I pick a player who just ruins my
- 9:33Speaker 1: fantasy life, and this year it's been Jeremiah Love. Yeah.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I got a two or three of my leagues and
- 9:39Speaker 1: he had that one really good week. That's the thing
- 9:41Speaker 1: that gets you feel like it was a four or
- 9:44Speaker 1: five games in. He said like three, four clunkers and
- 9:47Speaker 1: one really good game. But I don't know. I think
- 9:50Speaker 1: the clunkers are more the reality. I wonder if he's
- 9:52Speaker 1: even completely 100 percent healthy after being hurt in the preseason,
- 9:55Speaker 1: whatever it is. It ain't working with Jeremiah Love so far.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:58Speaker 3: And the quote from the coach. was a little disturbing
- 10:01Speaker 3: on Wednesday. The quote here is, quote, we want to
- 10:04Speaker 3: get this ankle right and do it the right way.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Like, you know what?
- 10:10Speaker 3: That makes me think he's not playing this week and that,
- 10:13Speaker 3: you know, they're going to use other people. They're playing
- 10:15Speaker 3: the Rams, which is going to be a tough game anyway.
- 10:17Speaker 3: But if you have Jeremiah Love, I think you got
- 10:19Speaker 3: to think for week six, you're going to need a
- 10:20Speaker 3: backup plan.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm putting him on my bench. For those of
- 10:23Speaker 1: you who are not, that means you'll get 200 points
- 10:25Speaker 1: because when I bench somebody like that is when they
- 10:28Speaker 1: go off that particular week. I also have Prince John Judkins.
- 10:31Speaker 1: I've used him off and on. I haven't used him.
- 10:33Speaker 1: I've used him less than I have on the bench
- 10:36Speaker 1: than I have actually put him out there for points.
- 10:38Speaker 1: But that Browns offense is still not great. I mean,
- 10:42Speaker 1: he's a talented kid, but he's always fighting an injury
- 10:44Speaker 1: or two. And I just don't have much faith in
- 10:47Speaker 1: Quinshawn Jenkins this week. Do you?
- 10:49Speaker 2: I don't either.
- 10:50Speaker 3: We don't know what his injury status is. They're saying
- 10:53Speaker 3: he's day-to-day. He's got an ankle injury. And if you
- 10:55Speaker 3: look at his game log, I mean, he's something like
- 10:57Speaker 3: the 25th running back in fantasy right now, which doesn't
- 11:00Speaker 3: sound terrible. But he's got, let's say, 42. He's had
- 11:04Speaker 3: 73 carries in five games. And only one game has
- 11:09Speaker 3: he averaged more than 3.1 to carry. He's got one touchdown. Like,
- 11:12Speaker 3: it's just the offense is bad. I know they were
- 11:14Speaker 3: a nice little story for the first few weeks, and
- 11:16Speaker 3: maybe they still will be a bit. But like you said,
- 11:19Speaker 3: the offense is not that good. And Judkins is going
- 11:21Speaker 3: to be kind of a plotter for you, even though
- 11:24Speaker 3: he's not a plotter in real life necessarily. He's going
- 11:27Speaker 3: to be kind of a so-so guy that, you know,
- 11:29Speaker 3: maybe I start him this week. I can start him
- 11:31Speaker 3: in a bye. He's not going to really do a
- 11:33Speaker 3: heck of a lot for you in most cases.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I think offensive line is an issue and quarterback,
- 11:38Speaker 1: so it's just not great. All right, let's see who's
- 11:40Speaker 1: out there on the free agent waiver wire. What do
- 11:43Speaker 1: you got at quarterback this week for somebody looking for
- 11:45Speaker 1: a quarterback?
- 11:45Speaker 2: Jameis, baby.
- 11:49Speaker 3: Jameis Winston, 12% rostered on Yahoo, so you can get him.
- 11:54Speaker 3: He's playing home against the Saints, the over-under 45.5, so
- 11:55Speaker 3: there should be some points. His last two games, he's
- 11:59Speaker 3: been playing in the rain for three weeks, okay? And
- 12:01Speaker 3: I'm not making Jamie's excuses. I'm going to go through
- 12:04Speaker 3: the warts in a minute. Last two games, 576 yards,
- 12:07Speaker 3: six touchdowns. Look, last week, he did fumble. He had
- 12:12Speaker 3: an interception bounce off a guy's chest. He's going to
- 12:15Speaker 3: throw his interceptions, which we've talked about before. In fantasy,
- 12:18Speaker 3: that's okay as long as the yards come. After the
- 12:21Speaker 3: way they played in the second half last week, John
- 12:24Speaker 3: Harbaugh did say things like, you know, maybe we'll play
- 12:27Speaker 3: him in the shotgun more. He didn't say that exactly,
- 12:29Speaker 3: but you know, they were talking about changing things up
- 12:31Speaker 3: because the Giants would love to be a power running team. Unfortunately,
- 12:33Speaker 3: they don't run the ball well and they have a
- 12:36Speaker 3: couple of good receivers and neighbors and Isaiah likely is
- 12:38Speaker 3: playing really well. They're going to let James throw, I think.
- 12:40Speaker 3: And yeah, there's going to be disasters. And in real life,
- 12:42Speaker 3: he's probably going to throw a pick six. That's going
- 12:45Speaker 3: to drive me crazy. But for fantasy, if you're looking
- 12:47Speaker 3: to pick up somebody to replace this week, Jared Goff,
- 12:50Speaker 3: Joe Burrow, maybe Lamar Jackson, if he's out, James could
- 12:52Speaker 3: be the guy.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Yeah, you brought up Isaiah Likely. He had an amazing
- 12:56Speaker 1: day for the team I was playing last week, which
- 12:59Speaker 1: I'm going to say it was Tom Sorensen in that league,
- 13:01Speaker 1: the famous Charlotte Observer, former writer. And he beat me,
- 13:05Speaker 1: final score in this percentage type league, he beat me
- 13:10Speaker 1: 124.25 to 124.05. If I had literally gotten another two
- 13:15Speaker 1: rushing yards out of Derrick Henry, or if Isaiah Likely
- 13:19Speaker 1: is the one that comes to mind because he had
- 13:20Speaker 1: like 33 points for him, doesn't have the most amazing
- 13:23Speaker 1: tight end day of the season by anybody. I mean,
- 13:26Speaker 1: those are the ones that haunt you, John.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Like, like the Isaiah likely play where he fumbled when
- 13:32Speaker 3: he crossed the goal line.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Yes.
- 13:33Speaker 2: You know, and they knocked it. You're thinking, Oh, if he.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Only fumbled two inches earlier, I would have won.
- 13:37Speaker 2: It's just, yeah, it drives you crazy.
- 13:39Speaker 1: And Derek Henry, if you're watching that game, he was
- 13:41Speaker 1: like at the half yard line when his forearm hit
- 13:44Speaker 1: the ground, when he was like lunging for the opening
- 13:46Speaker 1: touchdown on Sunday football. So anyways, it's, it's what it's
- 13:49Speaker 1: going to be played. It's enough. You're going to have,
- 13:51Speaker 1: both sides of that. Running backs, again, we caution, they're
- 13:55Speaker 1: not going to be great because everyone's got any running
- 13:57Speaker 1: back we can play, but who might be out there
- 13:59Speaker 1: as a weak pickup this week to just kind of
- 14:02Speaker 1: get you a couple points if nothing else.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Yeah, this is definitely a mediocre group here. Tyler Algier
- 14:08Speaker 3: on the Cardinals, he's 40% roster now. He's playing at
- 14:10Speaker 3: the Rams. I mentioned Jeremiah Love. This is assuming that
- 14:13Speaker 3: Jeremiah Love's out. And even if he's limited and, you know,
- 14:16Speaker 3: gets a low carry count last week, Algier could get
- 14:19Speaker 3: a dozen carries. Like, I mean, They're going to play
- 14:21Speaker 3: in the Rams. They're probably going to be losing by
- 14:23Speaker 3: a lot. But I think Algier still is like a,
- 14:26Speaker 3: as pickups go, if you have Jameer Gibbs on a
- 14:28Speaker 3: bye or Brees Hall still out or Chase Brown on
- 14:30Speaker 3: a bye, Algier could be a guy. Another one could
- 14:32Speaker 3: be Kendrick Miller on the Saints. He's playing against the Giants.
- 14:35Speaker 3: They're not fantastic against the run. Another one, Kendrick Miller's
- 14:39Speaker 3: not that good, but a chance still out. Kamara was
- 14:42Speaker 3: banged up last week. I don't know what his status
- 14:44Speaker 3: is for this week, but Kendrick Miller, he was 10
- 14:47Speaker 3: for 30 and one last week. You're like, eh, I
- 14:49Speaker 3: can give it a try if he's going to get
- 14:50Speaker 3: 10 carries.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Yeah, Albuquerque is just old, and that's why he's injured.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Wide receivers. What's out there wide receiver-wise for people needing
- 14:58Speaker 1: a receiver for this week?
- 14:59Speaker 2: A couple of decent options.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Again, you've got some really good receivers out on by.
- 15:03Speaker 3: Chase Higgins, Amon Ross St. Brown, Justin Jefferson. So there's
- 15:07Speaker 3: a lot of holes to fill for people.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Keenan Allen, maybe.
- 15:10Speaker 3: He missed week four, but in weeks three and five,
- 15:13Speaker 3: He was 11 for 108-1 on 18 targets.
- 15:15Speaker 2: That's a lot of targets. He's available in about 60%
- 15:17Speaker 2: of Yahoo!
- 15:18Speaker 1: Leagues.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Maybe Kendrick Bourne.
- 15:19Speaker 3: In his first game on the Cardinals after Marvin Harrison's departure,
- 15:23Speaker 3: he was 5 for 70 on 8 targets, and Bourne's
- 15:25Speaker 3: available in 85% of the leagues. He's a decent receiver.
- 15:27Speaker 3: He's part of the reason why, as bad as Harrison was,
- 15:30Speaker 3: Kendrick Bourne's not a bad receiver.
- 15:32Speaker 1: All right, and then tight end positions. You mentioned Tyler Tigby.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I can never straighten up the three or four tight
- 15:39Speaker 1: ends of L.A.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Of Who's healthy?
- 15:41Speaker 1: Who's the guy that might catch? Who's just a blocker
- 15:43Speaker 1: out there? So you think Higby's a decent guy?
- 15:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I think Parkinson's back, but Ferguson's still out. But
- 15:49Speaker 3: Higby last week, he was, I think, five for 83.
- 15:52Speaker 3: And then he got interfered. Basically, Stafford had him for
- 15:55Speaker 3: a touchdown over the middle in the fourth quarter. And
- 15:58Speaker 3: the safety tackled him and got a pass interference call.
- 16:00Speaker 3: So they're throwing to him. I mean, 23 targets in
- 16:03Speaker 3: his last three games. That's pretty good. That's a good offense.
- 16:07Speaker 3: He's looking at Higby a lot. I mean, I know
- 16:08Speaker 3: he's got those two really good receivers, but Higby's factored
- 16:12Speaker 3: into the passing game. Like I said, I hate to
- 16:14Speaker 3: repeat guys from last week, but he's still only 12%
- 16:16Speaker 3: rostered in Yahoo. If you need a tight end, like
- 16:19Speaker 3: let's say Laporta's out or your tight ends kind of stink,
- 16:22Speaker 3: which in a lot of cases is the case.
- 16:23Speaker 2: I picked up Higby in the league last week. I'm
- 16:25Speaker 2: happy to roll him out again.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Yeah, now I got Laporta out this week in one
- 16:28Speaker 1: of my leagues, so definitely streaming there. What defenses are
- 16:31Speaker 1: good to stream this week that might be also available
- 16:33Speaker 1: at the same time?
- 16:34Speaker 3: Well, the Colts are not great, but they're playing at
- 16:37Speaker 3: home against Cam Ward and the Tennessee Titans. The Colts
- 16:40Speaker 3: have 12 sacks in five game. And I think they're
- 16:42Speaker 3: a decent option. And the Saints, I mentioned Jameis Winston. Look,
- 16:45Speaker 3: the Saints defense is not good, but Jameis Winston is
- 16:49Speaker 3: probably overdue for a big turnover.
- 16:52Speaker 2: And they happen.
- 16:53Speaker 3: They just have, it's funny. I watched the Giants game
- 16:55Speaker 3: with my dad and he's like, you know, he's playing great.
- 16:58Speaker 3: And you know, he's going to throw interceptions for touchdown soon, right?
- 17:00Speaker 3: Like it's going to happen. So, Any time you can
- 17:03Speaker 3: bet on that, if you're streaming a defense, you should.
- 17:06Speaker 3: And the Saints are the team against them this week.
- 17:08Speaker 1: I picked up, because I needed one this week, I
- 17:10Speaker 1: picked up the Chiefs were available against the Chargers. Does
- 17:14Speaker 1: that have some juice to it, do you think?
- 17:16Speaker 3: Yeah, the Chiefs actually have a pretty good defense. They
- 17:18Speaker 3: probably got dropped because it was the bye week. And,
- 17:21Speaker 3: you know, a team streaming defenses, so you can pick
- 17:23Speaker 3: them up. I think that's a good one.
- 17:26Speaker 1: All right, so I look forward to them doing well.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Let's get Matt. We haven't had a question from Matt
- 17:31Speaker 1: in the last week or two. Matt, what you got?
- 17:33Speaker 2: Well, my first question is, should I go with Matthew
- 17:36Speaker 2: Stafford or Tyler Shuck at quarterback standard scoring?
- 17:43Speaker 3: Stafford's been slinging it lately. I think you'd definitely go
- 17:45Speaker 3: with him. I kind of like Tyler Shuck, but he
- 17:48Speaker 3: hasn't been running much. Let me check the game logs
- 17:50Speaker 3: real quick. The running hasn't been there as much as
- 17:53Speaker 3: we thought. Like the last two weeks, he hasn't run
- 17:55Speaker 3: much at all. And Stafford's really throwing a ton right now.
- 17:59Speaker 3: And then who's– my last question is who's somebody that
- 18:02Speaker 3: everybody had high expectations of?
- 18:04Speaker 1: They haven't met those high expectations, but you think maybe
- 18:07Speaker 1: down the stretch that that could come? Oh, boy.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Lad McConkie might be one. Again, I think– Yes.
- 18:13Speaker 3: I just have a hard time believing that they're that
- 18:16Speaker 3: bad and that they're going to– even though they're 0-5–
- 18:22Speaker 3: I think they're too good for that, even with the
- 18:24Speaker 3: offensive line injuries and things. And I think they're going
- 18:25Speaker 3: to win some games. And I don't think Justin Herbert,
- 18:28Speaker 3: even though he might have been overrated by people like me,
- 18:32Speaker 3: he's not terrible. I really do think they have to
- 18:34Speaker 3: bounce back. And I think Ladd McConkie might be a
- 18:36Speaker 3: guy who you can get for pretty much nothing.
- 18:39Speaker 2: Sweet.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Thanks, John. I was hoping the answer was going to
- 18:42Speaker 1: be Kyle Pitts.
- 18:43Speaker 2: I thought we were going to get through one episode
- 18:46Speaker 2: without talking about it.
- 18:48Speaker 1: No, that's why I had to throw him in at
- 18:49Speaker 1: the end. No one mentioned Kyle Pitts sucking. All right,
- 18:51Speaker 1: so that is this week's edition. Good luck to the
- 18:53Speaker 1: Panthers in Philadelphia this week. I'll be up there. Today
- 18:56Speaker 1: I'm in Birmingham because I've got ECU playing UAB tonight.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Sam Mills III, by the way, part of the coaching
- 19:02Speaker 1: staff of UAB, which I did not know until I
- 19:04Speaker 1: started prepping for this game. So I was hoping to
- 19:06Speaker 1: see him down on the field before the game today. But, John,
- 19:09Speaker 1: have a great weekend, and we'll talk to you Sunday
- 19:11Speaker 1: on the pregame show.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Thanks, Jim.
