- 2:39Sunny mornings send you. In local news, in a
- 2:45surprising election night, Boston Mayor Michelle
- 2:47Wu secured a second term with over 93 % of the
- 2:51votes, celebrating it graced by Neha in the seaport.
- 2:56Everett City Councilor Robert van Kampen ousted
- 2:58longtime Mayor Carlo DiMaria, winning 54 % to
- 3:0345%, promising a professional administration.
- 3:08In Brockton, Moises -Rodrigues made history as
- 3:11the first mayor of color. defeating Jeanne Bradley
- 3:14Darinancourt by just 260 votes. Meanwhile at
- 3:19Harvard, two young men were arrested in connection
- 3:21with an explosion inside a medical school building,
- 3:25though officials reported no ongoing threat to
- 3:27the community. Now on to sports. The initial
- 3:37college football playoff rankings for the 2025
- 3:39season were released, with Ohio State, Indiana,
- 3:43Texas A &M, and Alabama occupying the top four
- 3:47spots. The selection committee emphasized a new
- 3:51record -strength metric to highlight competition
- 3:54quality, ranking Notre Dame at number 10 in Miami
- 3:57at number 18. The highest -ranked team from outside
- 4:02power conferences is Memphis. which did not make
- 4:05the top 25. The quarterfinals are scheduled for
- 4:09December 31 and January 1, with a national title
- 4:13game on January 19 in Miami Gardens, Florida.
- 4:18In local sports, Jaron Duran's new contract for
- 4:222026 may have sealed his Boston Red Sox bait.
- 4:27The team declined his $8 million option and quickly
- 4:31re -signed him to a one -year $7 .7 million deal
- 4:35with incentives. Duran's contract includes a
- 4:39$100 ,000 buyout and $25 ,000 bonuses for every
- 4:4450 -plate appearances after 450. This restructuring
- 4:50could signal a renewed interest in trading Duran,
- 4:53as he appears to be the odd man out in a crowded
- 4:56outfield. Teams like the San Diego Padres, and
- 5:00Detroit Tigers might be keen to pursue him. In
- 5:05top news, on November 6, 2025, United States
- 5:10Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced
- 5:13a 10 % cut in flights at 40 major United States
- 5:17airports due to air traffic control safety concerns
- 5:21amid a government shutdown that reached a record
- 5:2436 -day. The shutdown has resulted in staffing
- 5:28shortages, flight delays, and longer security
- 5:31wait times, impacting at least 3 .2 million travelers.
- 5:37Duffy indicated that cuts could be reversed if
- 5:40Democrats agree to reopen the government. Airlines
- 5:43are scrambling to adjust schedules, with significant
- 5:46reductions expected within 36 hours. The Federal
- 5:51Aviation Administration is about 3 ,500 air traffic
- 5:55controllers short of targeted staffing levels.
- 6:00In business news, there is a new way to get a
- 6:04loan, but it comes at a cost. Creditors have
- 6:08a new obsession. When you are turned down for
- 6:11a loan due to a low credit score, the lender
- 6:13may reconsider if you allow them access to your
- 6:16bank account. Financial companies are racing
- 6:19to analyze your day -to -day transactions, hoping
- 6:22to fill in gaps left by traditional credit scores.
- 6:25While open banking is optional, major lenders
- 6:28are embracing this trend, raising concerns about
- 6:31privacy. Some lenders claim that this access
- 6:35can help expand credit opportunities for those
- 6:38with thin credit histories. However, it also
- 6:42invites potential surveillance into your financial
- 6:44life. In crypto movement, Bitcoin is up 1 % to
- 6:50about $103 ,000. Ethereum is up 2 % to just over
- 6:57$3 ,400. And XRP is up 4 % to $2 .33. Moving
- 7:06on to a more local vibe. In our community spotlight

- 7:51back to the show. Let's talk science. China was
- 7:56forced to postpone the return of three astronauts
- 7:58from its Tiangong space station following a suspected
- 8:02collision with space debris that appears to have
- 8:05struck their spacecraft. The Chinaman Space Agency
- 8:09is investigating the incident, stating the Shenzhou
- 8:12-20 crewed spacecraft is suspected to have been
- 8:15struck by a small piece of orbital debris. The
- 8:19crew, who launched in April, was supposed to
- 8:22return on Thursday, but the delay is to ensure
- 8:25the health and safety of the astronauts. This
- 8:28incident highlights the growing issue of space
- 8:31junk, which poses significant risks to missions.
- 8:35Experts note that even tiny debris can cause
- 8:38catastrophic damage at high speeds. Meghan Markle
- 8:46is returning to acting after seven years, as
- 8:50she is set to appear in the movie Close Personal
- 8:53Friends alongside Lily Collins and Brie Larson.
- 8:57Reportedly, Meghan was seen on set portraying
- 9:00herself in a small role in this Amazon and GM
- 9:03Studios comedy, which follows partners befriending
- 9:07a famous couple during a trip to Santa Barbara,
- 9:09California. According to multiple outlets, Macon's
- 9:15last acting role was in the legal drama Suits,
- 9:17where she played Rachel Zane for seven seasons
- 9:20before leaving in 2018 to focus on royal duties.
- 9:25Though she has launched a lifestyle brand and
- 9:27a Netflix series, Macon states she does not see
- 9:30herself returning to acting full -time. Well,
- 9:34all righty, folks. It's time for the quote of
- 9:37the day. And today, our quote comes from the
- 9:41American author and motivational speaker, and
- 9:46he said, Success means doing the best we can
- 9:50with what we have. Success is the doing, not
- 9:53the getting and the trying, not the triumph.
- 9:57Success is a personal standard, reaching for
- 10:00the highest that is in us, becoming all that
- 10:02we can be. And that's a wrap for this morning.
