- 0:00Coming up... This is a continuation of our two
- 0:02-part 50th episode extravaganza. We had to make
- 0:06it two episodes because we just love talking
- 0:08that much. What's the point of living if you
- 0:11know the answers to the universe? I know there's
- 0:14some truth to that cheese. If a ghost is gonna
- 0:16bitch me out, I'm gonna bitch them out too! Welcome
- 0:20to our podcast where we take deep dives looking
- 0:22at various topics through a paranormal lens.
- 0:26Yeehaw! Let's do this! Okay, so who wants to
- 0:30start off? Question 26. I shall start. Okay.
- 0:35What is your least favorite piece of equipment?
- 0:39Honestly, the EMF meter that's just the lights.
- 0:43The K2 type of thing? Yeah, the K2 meter. Honestly,
- 0:47my least favorite because it's so... glitchy
- 0:51it picks up on weird things just waving it around
- 0:55too fast can sometimes set things off and like
- 0:58if you're a new paranormal investigator you may
- 1:01not realize that i don't know and it's just easier
- 1:05to have like the digital emf reader to actually
- 1:09see the number fluctuation in my personal opinion
- 1:13i the k2 me you can't even see like So, like,
- 1:17let's say you catch, like, something where you're
- 1:19like, wow, in your head, this is some crazy EMF
- 1:23action. The natural question is, oh, what was
- 1:27the reading? You can't even tell. Like, oh, it
- 1:30was the yellow light. Yellow light. What does
- 1:35that mean? Exactly. I mean, I'm pretty sure the
- 1:39K2 meter does have what the Milagos reading is
- 1:43for each light. But it's like a range, so it's
- 1:46so hard to pinpoint. Because my favorite thing
- 1:48about the EMF is it's a real device that measures
- 1:52something real, right? So when you get a reading
- 1:57that you think, okay, that was strange, you can...
- 2:01actually go and figure out exactly what the energy
- 2:03output is equivalent to to figure out, you know,
- 2:05if it's something that could have an explanation.
- 2:08Yeah. You can't do that with a K2. What's your
- 2:12least favorite, Ben? We don't have one, but probably,
- 2:19I mean, we've been on investigations with people
- 2:21that use them, and I just think even watching
- 2:23on TV, it's a false positive generator. I'm talking,
- 2:30of course, the SLS. I knew you were going to
- 2:33say that. That's the stick figure thing. The
- 2:35concept is interesting, but reliable, I would
- 2:40say. I want to do a full episode on SLS eventually.
- 2:44Yes, absolutely. The phone apps, too. Spoiler
- 2:46alert. Or even worse, because people use phone
- 2:49apps that don't even have LiDAR. So it's literally
- 2:51just anything that... like the in 2d space like
- 2:55resembles a person like a water bottle even but
- 2:58the grooves kind of have you know and it's the
- 3:01amount of people that post on facebook especially
- 3:04like older people that have the apps and they're
- 3:07just like oh there's a stick figure showing up
- 3:10on my water bottle it's a mini ghost no no it's
- 3:13not no drives me nuts it's picking up something
- 3:16in the water bottle that looks like a human what
- 3:19about you angela do you have a least favorite
- 3:20boo bear boo boo buddy god no i love boo buddy
- 3:27oh god no it drives me nuts i can't stand that
- 3:30stupid thing and people who make their own too
- 3:33i'm just like no stop it well there's the people
- 3:38that make their own don't have the annoying like
- 3:40child saying like you're tickling me i'm like
- 3:44It always happens at the worst time. You're hearing
- 3:47footsteps and you're trying to capture it on
- 3:49audio. That's why I don't like them. It sounds
- 3:52so stupid and they go off constantly. I'm like,
- 3:55this isn't reliable, I feel like. Every single
- 3:59time we use these on investigations, it's going
- 4:02off at least 10 different times in an hour. Fuck
- 4:07that. That's not... That's not reliable. No way.
- 4:10Temperature is fluctuating that much or something's
- 4:13touching it that much. But again, the same issue
- 4:16with the K2. You don't know whether temperature
- 4:18is changing too. Is it a two degree temperature
- 4:22difference or a five degree temperature difference?
- 4:24Or it seems like with Boo Bear, is it a 0 .05
- 4:27degree difference? It doesn't say. Exactly. And
- 4:31then, of course, I just hate things as a film
- 4:33person that make. noise like that in general
- 4:36because like it's always when someone is saying
- 4:38something important i need to get audio of that
- 4:40like right over them talking is like also don't
- 4:45like it because one it looks extremely stupid
- 4:49i that's why i don't like homemade ones too because
- 4:52people who i'm sorry if anyone's listening that
- 4:55makes their like homemade ones or whatever but
- 4:57it's just kind of like Why are you picking it
- 5:00like the dirtiest looking like goodwill stuff
- 5:03animals out there as possible? Like get something
- 5:06good looking at least to make it people want
- 5:08to buy them. It's eye appealing, you know? I'm
- 5:12sorry, that's a meme, but like seriously. So
- 5:15you're saying just because you can stick an EMF
- 5:17meter in something doesn't mean you should. Exactly.
- 5:21Okay, Brie, question 27. What is a paranormal
- 5:26topic you wish investigators would stop arguing
- 5:29about? None. We won't have a podcast. Yeah, there's
- 5:34a lot of different things. I actually want people
- 5:37to argue more about stuff. Yeah, I mean, I feel
- 5:42like the arguing or having differences in beliefs
- 5:45is what makes it interesting. You can learn more,
- 5:50you know? I know we... are like we don't really
- 5:55watch too many paranormal stuff but what is your
- 6:00favorite even if it's a guilty pleasure what
- 6:02is your favorite paranormal show and it can be
- 6:05like youtube stuff or whatever like what's your
- 6:07favorite paranormal stuff that you even if it's
- 6:10guilty pleasure unironically do enjoy to watch
- 6:13um unironically i used to watch ghost adventures
- 6:19to fall asleep to I started having really creepy
- 6:29dreams so I had to switch to how it's made but
- 6:32I do in fact throw on ghost adventures in the
- 6:40background all the time when I'm doing stuff
- 6:43because you can just listen to it and it's entertaining
- 6:47so yeah Ghost adventures. I really enjoy exploring
- 7:00with Josh stuff. On YouTube, yeah. The abandoned
- 7:05locations. Yeah. Abandoned stuff and this ghost
- 7:09stuff is very entertaining. I would say, I mean,
- 7:14Bree, we both grew up on the Ghost Hunters, so
- 7:17I'd say that classic era of, like, seasons one
- 7:20through four of Ghost Hunters, I think, before
- 7:22parallel TV got, like, kind of oversaturated.
- 7:27Classic. Where Jason and Grant still did the
- 7:31plumbing gig and would get the call while they
- 7:34were at a house doing plumbing stuff. That's
- 7:39something we've never done. We've never done
- 7:41plumbing before. We've never done plumbing before.
- 7:44So who's gonna go back to school and get their
- 7:48plumbing degree? Hell nah. No thanks. I'm already
- 7:53not using the degree I have now. What popular
- 7:59haunting do you think is misunderstood? Like
- 8:06a specific haunting? I guess. Like a popular,
- 8:11well -known haunted place. Okay, haunted place.
- 8:16The answer, when you just said haunting, I was
- 8:18going to go like... Yeah, that's true. Haunting.
- 8:20I was going to say hat man. Hat man. I think
- 8:26it's misunderstood for reasons we already covered
- 8:28in a previous episode. Yes. That's a good answer.
- 8:32That is a good answer. I still love when Bree
- 8:35said it's kind of like the inverse of the woman
- 8:38in white type of thing. Yeah. I like that. What's
- 8:42your opinion on people who intentionally try
- 8:44to provoke spirits for entertainment? My first
- 8:47thoughts are leave the world's poor souls alone.
- 8:52I think, to put it simply, how you engage with
- 8:57spirits tends to be how you engage with people,
- 8:59so it's just a reflection on who you are as a
- 9:01person. Good way to put it. Now, that's not to
- 9:06say there aren't a few cases. Like, if you see
- 9:09a shitty person in real life that's a murderer,
- 9:12a murderer across the room, like a known murderer,
- 9:15if they look at you and they say, fuck you, Brianna,
- 9:18you're probably going to say, fuck you, asshole,
- 9:21back to them. Oh, yeah, absolutely. I feel like
- 9:23I have to. You're allowed to be mean to some
- 9:25spirits like you are allowed to be mean to some
- 9:27people. But, like, don't come out the gate. Yeah,
- 9:30I'm pretty sure that I'm very, like, against
- 9:34provoking. But if a ghost is going to bitch me
- 9:40out, I'm going to bitch them out, too. I want
- 9:44to see this green bitch fight with a ghost. Like,
- 9:50if it happens, like, you bet your ass I'm going
- 9:55to talk back to them. God. Anyways. Alright,
- 10:02question 31. I'm kind of wasting this question.
- 10:05I just think it's a funny question. If a ghost
- 10:08challenged you to a game of Jenga in exchange
- 10:12for the answers to the universe, would you...
- 10:14If they lost, they would have to give you...
- 10:22You'd have to win. Would you be confident enough
- 10:24to play a ghost? What would happen if you lost?
- 10:29You would never get the answers to the universe.
- 10:32I mean, there isn't really a downside to it.
- 10:36Either you play Jenga against the ghost and you
- 10:39win and you learn the mysteries of the universe,
- 10:41or you play Jenga against a ghost and you lose
- 10:44and you still get to say you played Jenga against
- 10:47a ghost. What's the point of living if you know
- 10:50the answers to the universe? I don't... No? Like...
- 10:56Well, okay. This can be a question 32. Would
- 11:01you keep investigating the paranormal if you
- 11:07knew all the answers to the universe? No. I would
- 11:12say yes because it would give me a better understanding
- 11:15as to how to connect or speak with spirits and
- 11:18to be able to capture that and record evidence
- 11:21to help further prove the paranormal. that is
- 11:25saying that the universe proved, like, knowing
- 11:28the knowledge of the universe would prove that
- 11:30the ghosts and the paranormal are real. Maybe
- 11:34it's not. You know, there's still that little
- 11:38inkling. You got a good answer to that, because
- 11:40the first thing that came to my mind was that
- 11:42I'm just going to be bored. Like, what's the
- 11:43point of doing it? I'll be bored. I like your
- 11:47answer a lot better, Bree. I thought at first
- 11:50Bree was just going to say, yeah, something to
- 11:52do on a Saturday night. what's a paranormal claim
- 11:58that sounds ridiculous but you've seen evidence
- 12:01supporting it um that's a hard question i'm sorry
- 12:09it is a hard question you know my answer what
- 12:13what the most ridiculous no not having the most
- 12:17ridiculous thing i've ever heard cheese layers
- 12:20but I know. I know there's some truth to that
- 12:23cheese. And I'm not just talking breeze. Or Swiss.
- 12:28Or cheddar. I've seen provolone. I've seen proof
- 12:32of it all. Proof alone. Proof alone. Proof alone.
- 12:43Oh, goodness. Leave my provolone proof alone
- 12:48alone. Whose question is it? It's my turn. All
- 12:51right. Okay. Has anyone on the team ever quit
- 12:55or seriously considered quitting because of an
- 12:59experience? Oh my gosh, because that was literally
- 13:02going to be my question. I was unprepared. Sorry.
- 13:08That's all good. No, I've never seriously thought
- 13:14about quitting. I feel like I've never... going
- 13:17to quit the paranormal but i feel like there
- 13:20may end up being some sort of event at some point
- 13:24that may make me question like whether i actually
- 13:28want to keep yeah i'm sure like i'm sure we're
- 13:31all going to come across that once or twice but
- 13:35it's become such a big part of our lives it's
- 13:38hard to imagine doing anything without it I guess
- 13:44this is kind of a broad question, but has anything
- 13:46we've encountered or learned or discussed in
- 13:52the paranormal actually made you think about
- 13:55religion differently? I don't think so. Not really.
- 13:59Yes, it did change my view on religion. What
- 14:03location has completely exceeded your expectations?
- 14:08madison seminary because it breaks my brain every
- 14:11time i go there so like that's the highest form
- 14:13of flattery all right um going back to the top
- 14:17when we talked about like least favorite piece
- 14:19of equipment if you were on a haunted island
- 14:23and you can only have one thing with you to detect
- 14:29ghosts And that includes your phone. You would
- 14:32have, if you choose like an EMF meter, you wouldn't
- 14:35have a phone. You can only have one tool, one
- 14:38anything with you on this haunted island. What's
- 14:42the one thing you would bring? Spirit box? You
- 14:45would bring spirit box. Yeah, because if you're
- 14:48alone, you can have like, and if you get lonely,
- 14:51you can just turn on the spirit box and start
- 14:54talking and having a conversation with the ghost.
- 14:56That is a good option. I was going to say dowsing
- 15:00rods, but like you get dowsing rods are only
- 15:03good for yes, no answers where they're at, where
- 15:05something's at, which you can get all of that
- 15:07and some with a spirit box. So we got two team
- 15:10spirit boxers over here. Spirit boxers. Pow.
- 15:17I would bring my phone. That's why I said at
- 15:20the beginning about the phone. Just your phone?
- 15:23Yeah, you can record audio. You can record video.
- 15:26So true. You have a little flashlight in there?
- 15:29I just walk around with my phone. I kind of just
- 15:32saw the phone. I feel like that's cheating. Yeah,
- 15:36that's lame. Okay, so I would bring a camera.
- 15:41That's better. Okay. Which also can record audio,
- 15:48can record video. Probably has a built -in light.
- 15:52Totally correct. Have you ever felt emotionally
- 15:56drained after an investigation and where? Oh,
- 15:59yeah. Not always due to the spirits, though.
- 16:02When we used to be in, like, Paranormal Club,
- 16:04right, there were, like, literally 100 people,
- 16:07all college kids. Some of these people are really
- 16:11emotionally draining just being around. And then
- 16:15you're up for, like, 14, 15 hours in a remote
- 16:21place with no cell service. in the dark and you're
- 16:25scared that's i feel like a lot of the early
- 16:30investigations were a little draining more than
- 16:32recent ones because like when you have good people
- 16:34that you vibe with and you know your limits in
- 16:39terms of like taking breaks and whatnot like
- 16:43it doesn't really get to you as much yeah if
- 16:46you don't vibe with the people you are investigating
- 16:48with your energy will drain A lot faster. Oh,
- 16:53yeah. I think that's fair. I don't know about
- 16:57you guys, but when I'm with people... I like
- 17:01most people that I have investigated with before.
- 17:04It's just like if it's... Some people just have
- 17:08a strange vibe. I don't know that... I mean,
- 17:12you guys have probably noticed I'm very much
- 17:14a people person. So if I'm helping with an investigation,
- 17:18I feel like I don't get... drained as much because
- 17:22i just get energized about like talking to people
- 17:25about stuff and like helping with the investigation
- 17:29and like but i don't know i i feel like if i
- 17:34ever get emotionally drained it's because of
- 17:36like something that happens like if someone's
- 17:41using boo bear around me my energy will be gone
- 17:45in two minutes but yeah i think We have been
- 17:48emotionally drained, just I don't think anyone
- 17:50here has been, like, emotionally drained from,
- 17:53like, spirits, right? Though I feel like you
- 17:57guys have been affected enough, like, specifically
- 18:00I'm thinking of, like, Simpson Hospital. Like,
- 18:03you guys got really emotionally affected, and
- 18:06I felt like that was... but that's not like emotionally
- 18:09draining yeah we're not just i don't know i wouldn't
- 18:12call it like drink like people say like there's
- 18:13paranormal hangovers or whatever i never felt
- 18:16that like i've been tired or like just kind of
- 18:19overwhelmed at points but like not like emotionally
- 18:22drained type of thing where it's like i can't
- 18:24even think right now i can't even feel any feelings
- 18:27i am yeah in such despair because are you sure
- 18:31paranormal hangover isn't just being up all night
- 18:36like that's what i suspect back to sleep that's
- 18:39what i suspect i never felt a paranormal hangover
- 18:42no i i could never relate with people whenever
- 18:46they they say that so yeah now one time during
- 18:51investigation we all felt just suddenly hung
- 18:56over all at once during an investigation and
- 18:59we all had to like sit down and we're like the
- 19:00room is spinning we're like what's happening
- 19:02but then passed in a minute and we're like that
- 19:04was weird okay this was at the south lion hotel
- 19:08all right question i don't know we're just gonna
- 19:11say we're on 40 so okay have you ever found yourself
- 19:15emotionally attached to a location or case you
- 19:20see here's the thing some people are like they
- 19:23get protective about locations like oh don't
- 19:27go here it's my haunted place you don't have
- 19:30a haunted place even people that are location
- 19:32owners should open it up to the public so i'm
- 19:36very much like it's weird if you get overly protective
- 19:38over a place um i mean maybe what we're talking
- 19:43about in the previous episode about like bath
- 19:45and stuff like i i feel like this because of
- 19:48an emotional connection to that case and stuff
- 19:51i would advise against investigating there but
- 19:56that's for reasons other reasons Because of recent
- 19:59tragedy stuff. I feel like I don't have any current
- 20:07locations that I feel emotionally attached to
- 20:12or personally attached to. But back in the day
- 20:15when we were first starting and with the first
- 20:19documentary you made with Afterlife, I felt like
- 20:23there was a period in time where we all felt
- 20:25very attached to Rosevear. And all the things
- 20:29going on with Rosevear. Oh, yes, you guys did.
- 20:34Believe me. Rosevear Park. I walked in on your
- 20:37guys' lives when it was, like, a big thing. And,
- 20:40my God, you guys were very invested in it. It
- 20:42was like, oh, where do we want to go to investigate?
- 20:45It's like, oh, man, that's too far away. Oh,
- 20:47man, we got to plan ahead of time for that one.
- 20:51Well, let's just go to Rosevear. It was always
- 20:54our go -to. We just kept getting drawn back there.
- 21:00I didn't even think about something like that.
- 21:02Yeah, that was like a mini obsession for like
- 21:03a year. Two years. Longer than just a year for
- 21:08you guys. That was like a place that latched
- 21:10onto us and we were all just compelled to go
- 21:13there. Yeah. Yeah. Reasonably so. I mean, it's
- 21:16a place. Yeah. Wonderful insight. It's a place.
- 21:27It's a place. Whose question is it? It's yours,
- 21:32Ben. It's mine? Okay. Here's a fun one. If you
- 21:37could meet any ghost and have a conversation
- 21:40with it, which ghost would you want to kindly
- 21:43and with consent force to sit down at a table
- 21:46with you and talk to you? Abe Lincoln. You'd
- 21:49want to talk to Abe Lincoln. That's okay. why
- 21:55he seems like a very interesting dude what can
- 21:59i say huh okay but abe that actually would be
- 22:02cool because you know like with mary todd lincoln
- 22:05and all that stuff like with the spirit photography
- 22:06it would be so cool to like replicate that like
- 22:10an authentic spirit photo of abe lincoln yeah
- 22:14but that's um i want he would be like such a
- 22:18good like hat man who says I actually have a
- 22:23really good one about after thinking about this
- 22:25for a hot second. Houdini. Houdini. Yes. You
- 22:30know, because he was so he was so into like the
- 22:33cult and like he was there the rise of spiritualism
- 22:37and like even his wife after he passed away was
- 22:41very heavily into spiritualism and doing seances
- 22:44because they had like that code word. If the
- 22:48afterlife exists, he was. supposed to say it
- 22:52to her during a seance and i and also it's houdini
- 22:56like i feel like that would be like the ghost
- 22:59to talk to that would be yeah that would be so
- 23:04you know the magic capital of the world is right
- 23:07here in michigan and every year they do a seance
- 23:09on halloween to contact houdini and they've never
- 23:13contacted him yeah i talked to the guy that did
- 23:17the seances because back in the day i wanted
- 23:19to see if we could like film or be a part of
- 23:21one they're fake seances i was so bummed oh yeah
- 23:26they bill it as like take part in the same but
- 23:29it's all just like theatrics and stuff like illusions
- 23:32like magic now here's the thing i am swayed by
- 23:40that answer i do like that answer brie um would
- 23:44you I'm more willing to do a Houdini seance than
- 23:48a Santa Claus seance. Oh, come on, bro. What?
- 23:54You don't want to summon Houdini? Santa Claus.
- 23:59You know, he's a famous debunker. What if, like,
- 24:01he just, like, let's say in a theoretical, you
- 24:04summon Houdini. And who knows what happens when
- 24:08you summon a ghost? What if they show up and
- 24:10they just, like, don't know they're a ghost?
- 24:11They just think they're... And he sees us doing
- 24:14a seance. He's like, full shit. That doesn't
- 24:18work. No touching his ghost. Wait a minute. You're
- 24:22as a ghost. You are a ghost. And he's like, what?
- 24:28All right. My turn. What's the oddest thing that
- 24:32you have found while investigating? You said
- 24:35oddest. So I'll bring this up. When we went to.
- 24:40This was not during an investigation, but it
- 24:42was on your birthday a couple years ago, Angela,
- 24:45and we stopped in this, that, and the otter things,
- 24:48which we have done investigations at, but this
- 24:52wasn't. It was just for your birthday. We're
- 24:53in town and we stopped by. Yeah, we were just
- 24:54there for my birthday. We went down to, like,
- 24:57the river behind in Ypsilanti, and we found that
- 25:01weird ceramic handmade mug with your initials
- 25:04on it and full, like, breath. It had a bunch
- 25:06of naked people on it. Yeah. naked people and
- 25:09your initials. And I was like, all right, I didn't
- 25:11get you a gift for your birthday. So happy birthday.
- 25:18Um, is there, have we ever had a piece of evidence
- 25:22that we took or had have collected that was,
- 25:27didn't make the final cut or has never been shown
- 25:30to the public? Oh, a lot. What's your favorite?
- 25:38I can't even remember half the stuff. At Piercini,
- 25:42there's so many EVPs and stuff that didn't. I
- 25:45mean, that comes to mind because it's fresh.
- 25:48Yeah. Same. That's always the first to go is
- 25:52like evidence. Okay. Okay. So. Here's a fun thing.
- 26:00We've been doing this for 10 years almost. And
- 26:06a lot has changed. What do you think? Because
- 26:10I think it's entirely viable and reasonable to
- 26:14assume we'll be doing this from our little retirement
- 26:16homes or nursing homes. Imagine us all at a nursing
- 26:21home together investigating where we're living.
- 26:26We would be investigating the past nursing, like,
- 26:30people at the nursing home. They're probably,
- 26:32like, extremely haunted, though, to be honest.
- 26:36I mean, that kind of answers the first part of
- 26:38my question. I was going to say, like, let's
- 26:41say 60 years, 70 years from now, which is six
- 26:46or seven times the duration we've been doing
- 26:48this, you know, in total. When we're in a retirement
- 26:53home, nursing home, What will investigations
- 26:56look like, and what will the paranormal field
- 26:59at large even look like? Good question. I think
- 27:04our paranormal investigating will still look
- 27:06very similar, just including a lot more walkers
- 27:09and canes. And an EMF cane! That's really funny.
- 27:22And also, missing dentures. Missing dentures.
- 27:28Oh, God. AI will somehow be incorporated into
- 27:33it, too, somehow, I bet. AI wheelchairs? AI wheelchairs.
- 27:41An invention that... It's gonna be like the Tesla
- 27:45cars, where they pick up ghosts, apparently,
- 27:49but instead... We're in, you know, the wheelchairs
- 27:53or whatever. And it's like, oh, there's a ghost.
- 27:57There's a person walking in front of you. It's
- 27:59like, no, there isn't. It's just a ghost. You
- 28:02can't roll forward because there's a person.
- 28:05Because your electric wheelchair that's AI equipped
- 28:11with Tesla capabilities. Tesla capabilities.
- 28:16Things that don't need to be invented, but we
- 28:19know will be. Yep. Okay. That's a good question.
- 28:25We're going to have the most decked out wheelchairs,
- 28:26though. It's going to have EMF meters and the
- 28:30wheels are cat balls. Uh -huh. Uh -huh. I wonder
- 28:36who, out of all of us, who's going to die first?
- 28:40Is that question 45? No! It's only... a matter
- 28:49of time that we've been ghost hunting for nearly
- 28:53a decade and we've avoided the inevitable question
- 28:56of our own fate and immortality. The time has
- 29:01come. It's okay. It's all gonna happen to all
- 29:05of us. Only one of us has had a near -death experience
- 29:08in front of others in the group. I don't know
- 29:12what that... When I was drowned at Rosevear.
- 29:16Oh, God. I didn't witness that. That was so funny.
- 29:22We're talking again about Rose River Park. There
- 29:24was a time we were filming the short film Afterlife,
- 29:27and Brie, you want to say what happened? Because
- 29:30it's probably less biased from you. Yeah, absolutely.
- 29:33Because we were in the process of doing the recording
- 29:38for our first documentary. And there was a new
- 29:43moon or something happening. So you're like,
- 29:47hey, let's try to set up some trail cams. See
- 29:49if anyone's doing some weird wacky shit in the
- 29:52woods. Because that was a claim. Yeah. So I had
- 29:55trail cams and Ben and I went out to go set them
- 29:59up. And it was spring. So there's a little creek
- 30:03that runs through the park. And it was just flooded.
- 30:08Like it was. flowing really fast like you couldn't
- 30:12cross it usually you can cross it well we had
- 30:16found a tree to cross the river we got across
- 30:19and and we're looking for a place to set up the
- 30:23cameras and ben's like oh hey there's a good
- 30:25spot and i'm looking i'm like you mean on the
- 30:27other side of this creek that we just had to
- 30:30cross on a tree way back that way he's like yeah
- 30:34we're like okay let's try to find another place
- 30:36to cross and there's all these where the tree
- 30:40branches and logs have collected along the way,
- 30:45like creating like these little dams sort of
- 30:47thing. And Ben's looking at it. He's like, oh,
- 30:49this is a good place to cross. And I'm like,
- 30:51I feel like it's not, but okay. So he starts
- 30:57trying to pick his way across and he's holding
- 30:59his camera or it's wrapped around his neck. But
- 31:02I'm holding it up because it's still like, I'm
- 31:04nervous. yeah i feel like i had i think i had
- 31:07the camera stand and i'm waiting for you to cross
- 31:12and you step on this log and you're like oh careful
- 31:15this one's really wobbly and in that moment i
- 31:19can see that's that log's not just wobbly it's
- 31:23not touching the bottom of the creek you are
- 31:27going to fall in i can't Say this out loud. Oh,
- 31:31you absolutely could have. You could have. You
- 31:33still could have. No, no, no. It was a split
- 31:35second thought. I saw that the log was sinking
- 31:38under you and I'm like, oh, there's no bottom
- 31:40to that. And he went in. You could have said,
- 31:44Ben, Ben, you're falling. It was too late, Ben.
- 31:48It happened in a split second. There was no way.
- 31:52So he went underwater. And he emerged with the
- 31:59camera over his head and was barely touched.
- 32:03Like, I think it was up to your chin practically.
- 32:06I was flopping. I was like. And I'm like. Finn
- 32:10was a dead fish. Yeah. And then I started to
- 32:13get the camera up because it was completely submerged.
- 32:16Yep. And I was following dirty creek water at
- 32:20a haunted park. And so anyways, he was able to
- 32:25climb out successfully. I was able to get across
- 32:29the creek in that same spot successfully without
- 32:32falling in. How do you do it, Bree? Tell us.
- 32:36I have years of experience of crossing creeks.
- 32:41That's a city boy. I know how to test a log or
- 32:46a branch that I'm stepping on before actually
- 32:48putting my full body weight on it. Then do you
- 32:52realize everything that you did in that situation
- 32:55was such a city boy like move? But I tested it
- 32:59and I said out loud it's loose. I would have
- 33:03known that. Been born in Chicago and then moved
- 33:06to the suburbs of Detroit. When you notice a
- 33:08log is loose in a fast flowing creek you shouldn't
- 33:12step on it. Okay. Lesson learned. This was like
- 33:16five years ago. Yeah, anyways. But yeah, so he
- 33:20fell in the creek. We were able to get out. Almost
- 33:24drowned. He almost drowned. Again, I was flying.
- 33:30Swallowing this water. We're in small town Owasso,
- 33:35and we're like, we need to get your camera and
- 33:38some rice. The only place we can find is this
- 33:41little mom and pop shop grocery store. And Ben
- 33:45walks in, soaking head to toe, and there's, like,
- 33:48a new, like, a wet floor sign, like they just
- 33:52mopped. I could see the lady putting the broom
- 33:55away. They gave him the dirtiest looks, because
- 33:58he was walking, and it was the full sloshing
- 34:01walk, you know? Dragging mud. Yep. And he just
- 34:07walks in and goes to the counter and is like,
- 34:08do you guys have any rice? They're like, no.
- 34:14Imagine, I'm covered, I'm soaking wet, there's
- 34:17like mud all over me and stuff. They're giving
- 34:21deadly glares and I just go up. And there was
- 34:24someone in line too, so I waited. And I just
- 34:26go up. Ripping all over their clean floor. She's
- 34:30like, do I have to grab this room back? And I'm
- 34:32just like, do you have rice? I didn't see rice.
- 34:35I wonder what the heck was going through their
- 34:37mind. Yeah. And then what was it? A couple days
- 34:40later, you went back to go grab the camera and
- 34:42the... creek was back to a normal skinny crossable
- 34:46creek without not even completely dried up yeah
- 34:50completely dried up why did that happen it was
- 34:54just randomly flooded the one day we wanted to
- 34:56go out yeah it was hilarious what i wouldn't
- 35:00give to have my camera like on in that moment
- 35:04recording uh hindsight whose turn was it i don't
- 35:10know i don't know either We're just going to
- 35:13say it's Angela's. Okay. I don't even remember
- 35:16what that question was. I don't even remember
- 35:19either. Who's going to die first? Oh, yeah, that
- 35:22was Angela's question, so it's my turn. Oh, okay.
- 35:28We're terrible at keeping track of this stuff.
- 35:30This is why we do one topic. And even then, Angela
- 35:32doesn't know what the topic is. If you could
- 35:35sit down with one famous paranormal investigator
- 35:39from history, who would it be? I would, and if
- 35:43we can get him on the podcast, that would be
- 35:45great because I have a lot of questions. Zach
- 35:48Bagans. I don't know if anyone has an answer
- 35:54to this, but I want to ask. What's the funniest
- 35:56response someone has given you or said to you
- 36:01when they find out you're a ghost hunter? Or
- 36:06you've said, I'm ghost hunting. It was... When
- 36:11I was at work once and this person said, so how
- 36:17does witchcraft work? And then did like the hand
- 36:21movement of like abracadabra and screamed it
- 36:23and then ran away. What? Did it work? I don't
- 36:36know. What worked? Like, what are you asking
- 36:39a question? The witchcraft. oh all right who's
- 36:44whose question is the next angela angela has
- 36:48the last question this better be good all right
- 36:52i think it's a good one i don't know so out of
- 36:56all of our investigations we've done and end
- 36:58up all the different topics encrypted that we
- 37:01have talked about and investigated about what
- 37:06is something that you want to do that we have
- 37:08not yet done Ooh. You know, I've always wanted
- 37:15to investigate, like, a lighthouse. And that's
- 37:17going back to the Ghost Hunters stuff, too. You
- 37:18know, like, all the classic episodes were in
- 37:20a lighthouse. And we're in Michigan! How have
- 37:22we not done a lighthouse yet? Yeah. I would love
- 37:25to do an investigation where we're at a location
- 37:29for more than just, like, one night. Yes! I would
- 37:35love to do that, too. That'd be so fun. That's
- 37:38an episode idea of mine, too. for the near future
- 37:42we need to talk about that because we haven't
- 37:43i don't even know the longest we've done like
- 37:45two nights we've never done anything more than
- 37:48that though all right i'll throw a curveball
- 37:51here how about this for a question what just
- 37:55beyond just paranormal like what's next like
- 37:58what do you want to do next like we've done a
- 38:01lot we've done like what half a dozen films in
- 38:05the past year like what is there anything you
- 38:08want to do I'd really love to do some sort of
- 38:12paranormal road trip. I want to try to hunt for
- 38:16fairies. Fairies? The Fae. The Fae? Yeah. So,
- 38:22that was fun? Yeah. Fun indeed, fun indeed. It
- 38:29was a yeehaw of a time. Yeehaw. Now, no one,
- 38:33no one, please listen to this. Just be chill.
- 38:38Go with the flow. You've been having fun with
- 38:41us. I don't want to get any comments being like,
- 38:44there was only 49 questions. There was 57 questions.
- 38:48It could be any range. Hopefully we got close
- 38:51enough to 50 where everyone is satisfied. Lock
- 38:53it up, people. Now, if any of these questions
- 38:57did spark a thought in your head, though, like
- 39:00an answer, a real answer to any of these real
- 39:01questions, please reach out, drop a comment,
- 39:06let us know. Your answers to any of these questions.
- 39:09If you have any opinions on our opinions, as
- 39:12always, we're here and wanting to talk. We wouldn't
- 39:16have a podcast if we didn't like talking. We
- 39:18do love talking. We couldn't even make the 50th
- 39:23episode an episode. We had to make it two episodes.
- 39:26We had to make it two episodes because we just
- 39:28love talking that much. Thanks for listening
- 39:33to this week's episode of Paranormal Lens. If
- 39:36you liked what you heard, every five -star rating
- 39:38and positive review tells the algorithms we're
- 39:41a worthy podcast and pushes us out to more listeners.
- 39:44We appreciate each and every one of you, and
- 39:47we'll see you next Thursday for another paranormal
- 39:49deep dive.
