It's welcome everybody. Welcome to this week's edition. This's to ARIALDA Show,
0:21
Episode number seven and forty six for May thirtieth, twenty twenty four. This
0:26
year, Willie King and Queen of the Ring in aw Double or Nothing Recap
0:30
and review edition of as R T You. I am one half of the
0:37
show. I am Jeff Peck joined every single week of my co host normally
0:40
Doctor Trey Franklin, Doctor Trey. It was a wrestling Phill Memorial Day weekend.
0:46
Again, my friend, you would think it was like WrestleMania weekend with
0:52
the amount of wrestling we have, but not quite even though that wasn't that
0:54
long ago. But two big pay per views, RAS, Dynamite Collisions,
1:00
Smackdowns, it kind of felt like a wrestle media weekend with the sheer volume
1:06
of wrestling we had over the past few days. A lot of wrestling to
1:10
be had, and there was one show this week that surprised the crap out
1:15
of me and dare I say may have been the most underrated, entertaining wrestling
1:21
program of the entire week, And we'll get to that later on the show.
1:25
Let's get into immediate recap interview here. W King of the ring.
1:30
It came to us this past Saturday from the Jedi Superdome in Jededi, Saudi
1:33
Arabia. The first match here was the pre show match. He had Biancle
1:37
bell Air and Jade Cargill defeating Indy Hartwell and Knis the Rate to retain the
1:41
w Women's Tag Team Championship. We're kind of going old school here. Fans
1:45
were like, Hey, go back to your match by match recaps. We're
1:48
gonna do it again, folks, and go back to those days. So
1:52
some notes from this one. Jade Cargill has looked really good so far in
1:56
and this slow burn of the partnership has a lot of great potent for an
2:00
eventual split between Cargill and Bianca Bellaire. I am really liking what I'm seeing
2:05
right now, Doctor Trey. Yeah, yeah, Jade looks better than expected.
2:09
I guess is that I guess when you have low expectations, like anything
2:13
that doesn't suck, you're like, huh, she's doing better. But I
2:16
do like the little like superhero partnership. Is it a little bit megapower ish
2:23
in a sense. It does kind of feel like they're just gonna dominate this
2:27
division for a while. By the way, I also loved Indy mocking Bianca's
2:31
braid throughout the match. I thought that was clever and fun too, so
2:36
uh yeah, not a bad little opener for the ladies to go after it
2:38
and for and at least the women's tag titles are on the show and not
2:43
forgotten about. Next match year was Live Morgan feeding Becky Lynch to retain the
2:46
WAE excuse me able to win at the WA Women's World Championship. We both
2:51
had Liv Morgan winning this match. Dom being an idiot and costing Becky the
2:55
championship is he attempted to prevent Live Morgan from winning Mommy's Championship with some pretty
3:00
good creative We saw that carry over on Monday night with a rematch stel Cage
3:02
match Becky Lynch, who's in the news for contractual reasons we'll cut, which
3:07
we will cover here later on the program, and Live Morgan once again,
3:13
Dom interferes, helps Live Morgan win. He gets a kiss from Live Morgan
3:17
after Raw goes off the air, so Raw running very tight to their feed
3:23
That was then picked up on social media which will then fuel the rest of
3:27
this feud. Thoughts here as Live Morgan wins the w Women's Championship. I
3:31
thought it was a really good match. I enjoyed the hell out of it.
3:36
I like the Live Revenge Tour. I like the the potential love triangle
3:42
of Live Rha and Dom. Becky worked her ass off those those two Knights.
3:47
If if this is her goodbye for a while to WW, she she
3:52
went out in a blaze of glory. So Helbert job by both ladies.
3:57
Next match here, Sammy's Aine defeating Chad Gable and and read in a triple
4:00
threat match. We're retaining w Intercountinental Championship. We both had Sammy's saying winning
4:04
this one. Fans are organically organically clamoring for ODIs to turn on Chad Gable,
4:11
and I can't wait for it to be executed. At some point Chad
4:14
Gables in the news will cover him and his contractual status later on the programming
4:18
as well. It reminds me of when aw botched fans wanting to see kill
4:23
Switch turn on Christian Afterworld's End that Awnver followed up with at All. It's
4:29
really cool seeing things like this organically play out. Yeah, I did see
4:33
the comparison to what's going on with Alpha Academy and then the Bloodline story when
4:39
Sammy was in it, where you have a narcissistic leader basically berating somebody else,
4:46
his friend comes to the rescue, you try to talk him out of
4:47
being in the group, only to have him still stay on that side for
4:51
a while and then organically turn And it's kind of is like I saw the
4:56
good comparison. I'm like, yeah, but if something's not broke, don't
4:59
fix it. It's like it worked for that storyline, it kind of works
5:01
for this one too. At some point, we're probably gonna see the Cree
5:04
brothers side with Gable and Otis be against them. It'll happen at some point,
5:10
but for now, like it's just good, compelling slowburn television waiting for
5:14
this angle to explode, just like we saw, you know, a couple
5:16
of years ago with Sammy and the Bloodline. Next match year is Nia Jackson
5:20
feeding Lyra Valkyrie to win the Queen of the Ring tournament. We both had
5:25
Nia Jack's getting the victory. Lyra looked really good in the losses. She
5:28
took it to Nia Jackson the Queen of the Ring Finals. Nia's recent recent
5:32
push has been really good heading into a title match now at SummerSlam. That
5:36
will be we talked about the last week show. It broke during the podcast,
5:40
actually Triple H making announcement the winner of both the Queen and King of
5:44
the Ring will be facing the respective brands champion, so Nia will be going
5:48
against as it stands right now, Bailey at SummerSlam. That finisher though on
5:54
Lyra, holy crap, my my inside shirt after that one. But she
6:00
looked great in a loss, Lyra Valkira. It's one of my favorite things
6:02
wrestling does when someone takes an l But they looked really good in it,
6:05
and Lyra did. Nia Jackson's are queening the ring. Yeah, I thought
6:11
both ladies looked really well. This was one of those matches where Lyra comes
6:14
out looking pretty strong because she held her own with Nya. But did you
6:18
openly gasp and say, oh my god when Nya hit that annihilator on uh
6:24
on Liah Alyra, I legitimately did. I was like, holy crap.
6:27
I watched it live and those words were completely uttered out of my mouth.
6:31
Yeah, the wife and I both went, oh my god, Okay,
6:33
I think she's dead. I think she killed her like that. That was
6:36
one of Thost like just brutal looking nihilators I've seen, and she's she came
6:42
out of that match. I mean, Nya came out strong Lyra came out
6:46
looking strong. And then the funny part to me was Nya almost crying while
6:50
Triple Ah is giving her the crown and hugging her and everything else, and
6:54
then immediately turning back into her character, like she broke gimmick for a little
6:59
bit, and then I went back into the gimmick when she saw the cameras
7:01
focused on her. If I'm if I know Triple h well, I'm guessing
7:04
he said something very sweet to Nia Jacks that cost her to break down a
7:09
little bit. She is a great talent. I mean since returning, I
7:12
mean, she has been a very captivating heel. I've really enjoyed her work,
7:15
and this was the right call putting the Queen of the Ring crown on
7:18
her head. Gun through defeats Randy Orton and whin the King of the Ring
7:23
tournament. We both had gone through and getting victory. Randy's shoulder not being
7:27
down for the pin definitely took away from the finish for a really good methodical
7:32
match. Good on Corey Grace for acknowledging the pin during the replay. They
7:38
further acknowledged that post show with Triple H talking about it. They acknowledged it
7:42
on Raw as well, so they kind of acknowledged the blunder there. I
7:46
don't think that was storyline wise because we haven't seen it followed up this week
7:49
so far. But I mean the ref has to be a little bit better
7:55
there. I mean, like stop the pin and let them, you know,
7:59
get back to the finish. We don't need to plow through this unless
8:01
it was meant to happen. So it was a really good match, but
8:05
the finish was like, ah man, really they could have done a lot
8:09
better with it. Nonetheless, gun through is the king of the ring.
8:13
Yeah, I mean it was a fantastic, hard hitting match, and you're
8:16
right, like the finish took away from the quality of I mean, outside
8:18
that finish, it's probably a match of the night. Like it was just
8:20
good old school physical wrestling. And you know, I give them credit for,
8:28
like you said, acknowledging it multiple times throughout the weekend, but to
8:33
me, it just looked like they were just a little bit out of position
8:35
and the referee was right where he needed to be to make that adjustment,
8:39
and he didn't do it. And most referees know, hey, if you're
8:45
counting the pen, you have to make sure that shoulder's down because it does
8:48
ruin the credibility of the match if especially if it's in plain sight. If
8:52
he'd been on the opposite shoulder of Randy and it happened, it would have
8:56
made sense that he missed it. But he was right there. Well,
9:00
I waited with the falls. But by the way, like even the Friday
9:03
Night show, the match be thing Randy and Tama leading into King of the
9:05
Ring was really well done and it got Kevin Owens to Saudi Arabia, So
9:09
there you go. That's fun as well. Kevin has been making the run
9:15
over to Saudi Arabia since Sammy started making it as well, so I know
9:20
that was a thing a couple of years ago, but nice to see Kevin
9:22
Owens there. He also did a great job on the pre show. And
9:24
then finally the main event here, Cody Rhades defeats Logan Paul to retain the
9:28
WE Undisputed Championship. We both had Cody getting a victory the Logan Poul Michael
9:33
Cole storyline heading into This one was interesting because I wonder if it actually leads
9:37
to something with them or even Corey Graves down the road, as there was
9:41
back and forth with Logan Paul and Michael Cole at the announced table and then
9:46
Corey Graves is getting involved. The seamless transition Logan Paul has had into wrestling
9:50
surprises me every single time. He held his own with one of the best
9:54
in the business day Cody Rhodes, and I mean, it's I'm a broke
10:00
record here to be like, I can't believe how good this guy has been
10:03
in professional wrestling with what less than ten matches under his belt. But that's
10:07
like legitimately it. It does not look like a celebrity or a YouTuber or
10:11
quasi part time wrestler. I mean, this is someone that looks, like
10:15
he said, ten years under his belt. I mean he has really picked
10:18
it up. Good match, as Cody Rose retains. Yeah, I always
10:22
give Logan Paul the credit that he has erves for being so good, for
10:26
being so new to pro wrestling, Like you said, like maybe ten twelve
10:30
matches under his belt. But then again, if you look at everybody he's
10:33
worked with, like he's everybody he's worked with are good solid workers as well.
10:39
Like if you look at Cody Seth Robin Ko or like Ray Mysterio Miss
10:46
like he's not really had a wrestler he's had to carry in a match yet,
10:50
so he looks great. But I gotta give the other guys their credit
10:54
as well for you know, working Logan through a good match. Cody's no
10:58
exception. That match was really well, really well laid out, great storytelling,
11:03
and between the Logan Paul stuff at King of the Ring and then the
11:07
Dominic stuff post show Monday Night, Michael Cole might be the new dad of
11:11
WW just scolding the young boys for doing the wrong thing, like you're cheating,
11:18
you lied, and then scolding Dominic for costing you know, Becky two
11:22
matches. So kudos to Michael Cole for just standing up and being like the
11:26
ultra dad of WWE as well. Yeah, people may like ear Mark being
11:31
that Vince has gone not in this ear anymore, that he's kind of showcased
11:35
his personality. I would say, really, ever since McAfee came aboard WI,
11:39
he has been very Jr. Esque in that sense, Like I love
11:45
that Jim Ross was kind of doing commentary without a Governor on and just was
11:50
commenting how he felt. And that's what you're seeing play out with Michael Cole.
11:52
Maybe he has a little bit of lines or a direction that he has
11:58
given, but he is He's really done an amazing job, and it kind
12:01
of gets glossed over all the time. How well and emotionally he's been as
12:05
a commentator as of late, I think he is the best in the business
12:09
today, With all due respect to other people like Excalibur, I really enjoy
12:13
Michael Cole's work lately. Pay perview prediction record from King and Queen the Ring,
12:16
we both went five and oh coming out of this one. I met
12:20
fifty five and eight Doctor Trey's at fifty and thirteen Match of the Night and
12:26
event rating. I gave Match of the Night still to Gun through Randy Weren't,
12:28
which maybe is a surprise, and I gave King and Queen of the
12:31
Ring a three point eight out of five Doctor Trey what say you Yeah?
12:35
I actually went Cody and Logan just and mainly it's just because of the messed
12:41
up pinfall at the end of Randy and Gunther So I went Cody and Logan
12:45
and I was at three point nine there, he goes, They're probably been
12:48
around one another there, which has been a while for some of the shows
12:52
Doctor Trey and I have been doing, which is nice to see, nice
12:54
to say we're back on the same page, Doctor Trey. Any other matches
12:58
in moments, she want to discuss all I had down for me just overall
13:03
from the show. I thought, again, we talked about it, you
13:07
talked about Doctor Trey. Slow burning. Creative is becoming more common in WA
13:11
with Jade and Bianca Live in Rhea slash Judgment Day Chad Gable Otis and I
13:16
am completely here for it. I love that they're doing this. Yeah,
13:22
the stuff with dom and Rhea and Live makes me wonder and you can see
13:26
it also with the with the reaction that Damian Prescott on money, and it
13:28
makes me think that part of Judgment Day might go babyface, like they might
13:35
split it because you see the stuff with Carlito and dom and then you know
13:39
Carlito can't be in the room, but you know, like there's these weird
13:43
affiliations with Judgment Day. So to me, I think at some point you're
13:46
gonna see Judgment Day split and Dominic get his own heel faction because you can't
13:50
make Dominic a baby face because the crowd loves the boom. But you might
13:54
see Judgment Day split, which makes sense to hey, Gunther wins King of
13:58
the Ring Dunth and Damian Priest the Summer Slam. If Damien's a babyface makes
14:03
a ton of sense as well. So I think that where it might be
14:07
trending for all that. Plus I think this stuff did. By the way,
14:09
this with Logan Paul, it might lead to Logan Paul and Paul McAfee
14:13
or Pat McAfee, Sorry, Logan Paul, Pat McAfee had a SummerSlam with
14:18
Pats taking up for Michael Cole in that role. That would be interesting.
14:22
I would love to see Corey Graves back in there. People tend to forget
14:24
how good he was ten plus years ago on the NXT brand, actually a
14:28
former champion with current AW star Pac Pac then known as Neville Adrian Neville on
14:35
NXT caaring over to Oly Wrestling Double or Nothing Reekaprivia this past Sunday from the
14:41
MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas slash Paradise, Nevada, the five year
14:46
celebration of AW back to where it all started. Some of the buy in
14:50
matches, Doctor Treyo Diana Prazzo defeating thunder Rosa. We did not predict this
14:54
match. I thought it was a good start to the show. That felt
14:56
like these two great women wrestlers wanted to send a message for being on the
15:00
buy in and not being on the main show. Yeah, solid match.
15:03
Plus you had the heel getting to win by holding the rope, So that's
15:07
good for Deanna because one of the issues I always have with AAW is defining
15:11
roles is who's a baby facing, who's the heel, And Deanna is kind
15:15
of a baby face, but she's way better as a heel, so that
15:18
works out as well. So but those to them. I don't know if
15:22
Deanna Parazzo can have a bad match. Thunder Rosa never has a bad match,
15:26
So like, I'm on board of those ladies going at it. You
15:28
put those guys on every show and I'd be fine with him. The Acclaim
15:31
defeats Cage of Agony. Let that one settle in in a trios match.
15:37
We did not predict this match. I wonder if Bowen's receiving a letter from
15:41
a fan before the match will be followed up at all. It was not
15:46
on aw Dynamite this past Wednesday, as it felt like a storyline there he
15:50
is going for the getting scissor made from the fans and a planted wrestler puts
15:56
a note in between his fingers. So hopefully that gets followed up on in
15:58
rampay or Collision this week. Uh. And then also, Cage of Agony
16:03
is an awful name. I mean just ended there. What what what person
16:08
came up with that? That was awful? There was the last minute like
16:12
we can't use let's let's not use gates. What can we use this nut?
16:15
It's metal? Uh and confining. Hey, we have cages in this
16:19
Brian cage. We just called them cage of a Cage of Agony. Sounds
16:23
like a Steven Sagall action movie. No, you're being kind. I was
16:26
going more rated at Triple X. Yeah, that and that was gonna go
16:30
for like bad TNA pay per view name fair well, but yeah, and
16:37
I don't get like so we just featured the Gates of Agony in this whole
16:41
turn angle against the world champion a couple of weeks ago, and now they're
16:45
losing out to the acclaimed in Daddy Ass. Like I just it's It's what
16:49
was the whole point of the big turn If you're just gonna have them lose
16:52
on a pre show match at a pay per view, Yeah, I don't
16:57
know. I don't know. Sometimes main guard here, Will Ospray defeats Roger
17:03
Strong to win the AW International Championship. We both had Will Ospray winning this
17:07
match. Does Ospray have a bad match? If so, what does that
17:11
look like? Because this was the perfect start for the show. Really enjoyed
17:15
this match, fast, hard hitting, great ring work, incredibly enjoyable matches.
17:22
Ospreys our new aw International champion. I will say like it was a
17:26
great match. I will say the one thing I hated was that leaping doomsday
17:33
device that the Kingdom hit on Ospray early in the match, and Ospray had
17:40
landed on his head. He's back in the match ten seconds later. Like
17:45
that move literally like damn near paralyzed people and it's heyday, and it's a
17:52
move they hit on the floor. Osprey almost breaks his neck and then he's
17:56
back up and going ten seconds later. So that's one of my issues I
18:00
have with AW is they kind of kill certain moves by how fast guys get
18:03
back up. But outside of that that match was fantastic and like you said,
18:07
I don't think either guy can have a bad match, So it's almost
18:14
too good of a match to have as the opener for your pay per view.
18:18
Rare move by AW, and I don't know when we'll get a chance
18:21
to talk about on the episode, so let's talk about it now. MGF
18:23
returns to AAW. He takes out Adam Cole and says he is all elite,
18:27
which we all believed he was. He has been under contract to a
18:32
new deal. It Reportedly he's the highest paid wrestler on the AW roster since
18:37
twenty twenty two, so for the last like twenty or twenty two months somewhere
18:41
around there. He has signed an extension. Unknown how long. He has
18:45
a tattoo on his leg saying bet on yourself at the AW logo. Came
18:51
back with like a new, refreshed look. Acknowledged that his character before he
18:53
was off of TV or off of TV the last five months was kind of
18:57
getting stale, made fun of the friendship and the kangaroo kick, and said
19:03
that he's getting back to hate. Kind of a nod to Triple H.
19:07
With the return Denim Leather jacket from twenty twenty excuse me two thousand and two
19:12
when Triple H returned to we at MSG and was broughting that for a while.
19:18
Reports are out right now that MJF has some creative ideas that are completely
19:23
out of left field. He looks rejuvenated, he looks rebooted. If you're
19:27
looking for someone to help jump start the brand again, aw, MJF is
19:33
the guy. Good segment, Doctor Trey. They also the other thing on
19:37
this report is that they had him take out Adam Cole to blow off the
19:42
stuff between he and Adam Cole because Cole is still quote nowhere near a return,
19:48
which is really sad because we're coming up on a year from this ankle
19:52
injury and also concerning so I guess that was like a way to write it
19:59
off, which I aw creative doing and tying that up because I wouldn't want
20:03
to see him return and completely ignore what took place five months ago. Nonetheless,
20:07
the former AW world champion is back, Doctor Trey. Yeah, the
20:11
segment was really good. Like the first thing I thought of I saw the
20:15
denim j the jack at COMBA was the Triple Ah return, So like that
20:18
was immediately the first thing I saw. Promo's really well done. My only
20:22
thing is I would have placed it a little bit later in the show because
20:26
if you're if mjf's your top paid guy and one of your featured guys,
20:30
hey maybe move it to like the three quarter mark of the show and not
20:34
the match, the segment right after the opening match, because this is the
20:38
guy you're building on. This is your franchise player, This is your Shane
20:42
Douglas ECW, this is your Triple As John CWW, this is your guy.
20:48
They don't do that segment early in the show on any of those other
20:52
companies. They do it a little bit later to get that big blowoff pop
20:56
and also helped save the audience for the main event. So placement, bad,
21:00
segment good. I understand your point there on the audience, a live
21:04
audience. I actually kind of liked the plan still because it was early on
21:08
in the show where you just came off the red Hot Osprey Roger strong match
21:11
and then came off of you know, a surprising segment that got the people
21:15
on their feet. I didn't mind it, but I do completely understand where
21:21
you meant, like, hey, maybe put this in towards the end of
21:22
the show to get the crowd back up heading to the main event levels.
21:26
So MJF is back in All Elite Wrestling and he will be back on Dynamite
21:33
this Wednesday as well. I thought they had another missed opportunity there, like
21:36
they should have followed that up on this past Wednesdays Dynamite, but that's tends
21:40
to go how it is sometimes with MJF and his appearances. Next match,
21:44
yere is Bang Bang Gang defeating Death Triangle in a trios match, retaining the
21:48
Unified World Trios Championship. We both had the Bang Bang Gang after watching this
21:52
match, I really hope and want to see the trio's division really take off
21:56
as it could be a really entertaining watch. As predicted, Juice Robinson return
22:00
help the Bang Bang Gang brothers retain the match and the championship. Doctor Tray
22:06
your thoughts on this one. Yeah, really fun triple or really fun stix
22:08
Man tag loves Hee, Juice Robinson back and just like the trios title could
22:15
be really great in AW just because of the sheer volume of stables that we
22:19
have in AW. It's a good way to keep groups active and not just
22:23
stall out in storylines. So There's plenty of challengers they can throw at the
22:29
Bang Bang Gang and they are arguably outside of sort of strictly still the most
22:33
entertaining act in AW times. Tony Storm defeats Serena Deeb to retain the aw
22:37
Wodman's World Championship. We both at times, Tony Storm, we have a
22:41
victory. I hope AW capitalizes on the fans chairing for the heal Tony Storm
22:45
rather than the babyface Serena Deep and I feel like they will because Deep acknowledge
22:49
the crowd charing for Storm at points in the match. Same with how they
22:52
will play off of Mariah May wanted to throw in the title, only to
22:56
be stopped by Luther, who then got blamed for trying to throw the towel
22:59
in by timeless Tony Storm. This match got better as the bout went on,
23:03
and you could feel both women felt the momentum build towards the finish.
23:06
Really enjoyable match. It's a shame they didn't follow it up on Wednesday's Dynamite.
23:10
There was a segment where I believe it was supposed to be Siraya taking
23:14
on I think Mariah May, which is now carried over to next Wednesday's Dynamite.
23:18
They could have followed up from some of this stuff. I guess again,
23:22
we'll just have to see if stuff gets followed up on Rampage and Collision
23:25
this week. Nonetheless, this was a really good match that got better as
23:29
it went on. Doctor Trey, This is almost to me like one of
23:32
those perfect kind of matches in the sense of where you have like the great
23:36
wrestler who may not have a ton of personality versus the great personality who's a
23:41
solid wrestler, and sometimes when those two entities meet up, you have great
23:45
matches. And this is one of those examples where it's like Siria Deeb is
23:49
like Deanna Parrazzo and Thunder Wrestlers. She doesn't really or have a bad match
23:53
Tony Storm, great character. Sometimes matches are hit and miss, but this
23:59
would really well. It got better went on. They felt more confident as
24:03
a match went on, and it laid out pretty well. So great solid
24:07
match for these two. Next match here is Orange Casside defeats Trent and BURRETTA
24:11
we both hat Trump Barrett again the victory here. Really digging the character development
24:15
for both wrestlers in this feud. From Bretta becoming a sociopath to the darker
24:19
colors, black sunglasses, black shirt for Orange Cassidy. Great stuff and feud
24:23
from both guys. AW needs to use this stuff, needs to use stuff
24:27
like this as a blueprint for their creative I know we've kind of trashed some
24:32
things that weren't followed up on Dynamite this past Wednesday. However, this was
24:36
followed up up on Wednesdays Dynamite where Don Challis offered a spot to the Calls
24:41
family to Orange Cassidy. He turned it down. Trent Bretta accepted, Chris
24:45
Statlander and Sookly Hathaway, which we'll get towards them later on in this recap
24:49
came out and accepted. They kind of tied off their recent storyline stuff that
24:55
we'll talk about here shortly in that segment as well. Orange Cassidy than Don
25:00
all the black again in the match, which I thought was interesting, and
25:03
we'll see how that develops. This is a blueprint of how a good feud
25:07
and entertaining feud and great in ring stuff can happen on lawlid Wrestling and hat
25:14
tipped everybody involved here. Doctor Trey's Orange Cassidy got the victory. Yeah.
25:18
The only thing about this is I like the black shirt Orange Cassidy, the
25:22
edge eared Orange Cassidy, But why didn't we bring this side out at least
25:27
once during the John Moxley stuff like this could be his demon for Finn Valor?
25:33
Is this you know edgier Orange Cassidy. Look, it's a good way
25:37
to also refresh the character because it shows another layer to the Orange Cassidy character
25:42
that we haven't seen before. So that part's great. The storyline, the
25:45
storytelling, the way they're actually tying the ends up in this angle is what
25:51
you and I have been asking for, so we I get really happy about
25:55
it. And I forgot to mention this for the first match. Don Cals's
25:59
on common terry for will Ospray's match, and they actually brought that up that
26:03
Osprey was supposed to be the count in part of don Kal's family. He's
26:06
like, well, it's an affiliation, you know. It's like okay,
26:10
So they're trying to tie some stuff together. They're listening to the audience and
26:14
like, hey, we need to make some storylines make sense and not stop
26:18
and start. So I give this. This match was really well done and
26:21
really fun and they're actually doing what we've been asking, which is, hey,
26:25
we want some stories to go to the great wrestling and then make the
26:27
stuff make sense, even if it's a loose storyline coming together. We just
26:33
want to feel like there's a story to give depth to the characters and the
26:37
action in the race. Next match here is Chris Jericho defeting Hook and Kattie
26:41
or Shabad in a three way FTW rules match, retaining the FTW Championship,
26:45
both at Jericho getting the victory. I just would like to see something different
26:49
from Jericho and aw where as some sort of state instead of it where he
26:52
has some sort of stable televiate wrestlers, with the addition now the bounty hunter
26:57
Brian Keith to join he and Big Big Bill. I almost called them big
27:03
casts in the Learning Tree group. It's it's like we've seen this play out
27:07
with the Jericho Appreciation Society, the Inner Circle. And while I like this
27:11
new iteration of Chris Jericho where he's like this eighties babyface that doesn't understand why,
27:18
like the crowd is booing him or whatever, it's like we've seen the
27:21
stable stuff play out so often. Anyway, Jericho gets the victory we see
27:26
it play out on Wednesday's Dynamite a little bit more as Brian Keith explains why
27:30
he joined up and now Simo Joe's got involved with Hook, which I'm digging.
27:34
Doctor Trey, your thoughts on this one, Yeah, it's interesting.
27:38
I don't know, like, have they said the name of the group is
27:42
like the Learning Tree Group or the Learning Like, have they said it's called
27:45
their Like have they actually gave it an official name yet? They have not?
27:48
Not yet, because the Learning Tree does sound like, you know,
27:52
a school for people with like special needs, so like, I'm a little
27:56
like leary of that. But even this iteration, Jericho's one of those ones
28:00
where I'm like, I'm not sold on, Like it's funny, but I
28:03
saw this with Johnny Swinger and TNA where he was basically acting like an Eddie's
28:07
babyface, so I've kind of seen it, so it's not that fresh to
28:11
me. But anything with Jericho usually I can get entertained by, Like this
28:17
match itself I really didn't care for, which was a disappointment because usually with
28:22
Jericho and Shabada and Hook, you put those guys in a match, it
28:25
should be fantastic, And this one was eh, so like I think I'm
28:30
with you. Like to me, Jericho in a mid car with a mid
28:33
cart stable is just kind of wasting Jericho's what you could actually use him for.
28:37
So I just I'm just on this whole thing right now. Next match
28:42
here is John Moxley defeeding Kenoski, Takeshka and an IWGPU World of aweight Championship
28:47
eliminator match. We both at Maxleig getting victory. Interesting how the commentators post
28:52
match blamed Takeshka listening to callous by bringing in the chairs that cost him the
28:56
match. They did not follow up on that on Wednesday's time. In my
29:00
also, Rick Knox is an interesting referee as he clearly saw mox throw the
29:04
chair out of the ring in this uh and it was it definitely was not
29:08
a new Japan style booked match here, Doctor Trey is John Moxley retained defend
29:14
Kenoski to Keshka. Yeah, this is another match where I was kind of
29:18
like like I was really excited for this match and it just and maybe us
29:21
to finish the finish has kind of brought it down for me because overall,
29:25
like I was like super ceverge match because I like Takeshka a lot. Everything
29:29
he's done so far in AW, he's been fantastic. Obviously, Moxley is
29:33
just the star wart workhorse of AW. Even when he doesn't want to work,
29:37
he ends up working matches anyway. But this match and the finish and
29:41
then the obvious, like you know, the referee obviously sees I mean just
29:45
like we saw it king in the ring. It's like, damn just either
29:48
makes the ref look bad or makes the match look bad. So it kind
29:52
of brought it down for me. So it was it was good, but
29:55
it could have been way better to finish it been tightened up a little bit.
29:57
Next match is Adam Copeland feeding Malachai Black and a barbed wires steel cage
30:02
match retaining a W ten TE championship. I had Adam Copeland, Doctor Tray
30:06
and Malachai Black. Uh. It's a damn shame that Copeland fractured as tibby
30:11
in this match and heat surgery after that gnarly elbow drop spot. It's it's
30:15
also amazing he didn't get more hurt in that spot. It's nice to see
30:22
gran Gangrell get his flowers this match and school that Copeland has wanted to get
30:26
him a chance to receive these flowers, because you keep hearing like the amount
30:30
of times he wants to get Gang Grell involved. It's really unfortunate we won't
30:33
be able to see this immediate play out following this match due to Copeland's injury.
30:37
We'll talk a little bit more about the T and T Championship here briefly
30:41
and what's going on with that Doctor Trey. But Adam Copland defeats Malachai Black
30:44
to retain the title he has now unfortunately been stripped off. Yeah, and
30:51
once again, like to me, like you called it for on our on
30:53
our previous show, you said, Grell get involved. I love seeing it.
30:57
I was surprised the brood on the on the tron, which aren't you
31:04
amazed that w does it still hold the trademark to that They let a lot
31:08
of things lap like that was something I thought they might hang on to.
31:12
But you know, it proved his point. He was right. The crowd
31:17
remembered who Dan Grill was and popped for it, so that's great. I
31:19
also liked the little homage to I don't know, I don't know if you
31:23
want to call it like an homage to the Judgment Day turning on Adam Copeland.
31:27
But like the clothes line from Brody King on Copeland when they looked like
31:30
they were sighting with him, I thought that was kind of like a throwback
31:33
to Damian Priest taking out Edge, like you know, with the whole Judgment
31:40
Day thing. So but overall, it is a shame that, you know,
31:41
with the injury, the sort to throw things out of whack. And
31:45
it is also ironic because I had just listened to his appearance on the Chris
31:48
Van Valley Show where they talked about Matt Hardy coming off the top of the
31:52
cage with the leg drop and how Matt basically couldn't walk for weeks after that
31:56
leg drop, and then Edge gets injured doing something semi so, so it
32:00
just sucks for everybody involved because this has been really entertaining, has been really
32:04
fine, and even if this was the blowoff, like you would have wanted
32:07
to see some kind of continuation for these guys even to go separate directions to
32:13
build off this, and now it's just kind of like a stop for all
32:16
parties involved because you have to kind of figure out where you go next with
32:19
everybody. Yeah, and I haven't seen the timetable and when they expect he'll
32:22
be out for but I mean it's got to be anywhere between six and twelve
32:24
months, which is like just a mass blow for AW two loose Eddie Kingston
32:29
and Adam Copeland too broken legs in less than a month. I mean Copeland.
32:35
I felt like Adam Copeland started to get more acclimated to the AW world
32:40
and was really starting to get going with this fewd and it's like, oh
32:44
man, it's like whenever Copeland gets going, he gets completely an injury happens,
32:51
and now he's gone. We saw this play out in WWE when he
32:53
returned in twenty twenty and he got hurt like five months in interested he acknowledged
32:59
that that probably it's his body, saying like, yo, dude, you
33:01
have got to slow down. And it's kind of funny that ww was trying
33:06
to do that with him instead of playing you know, wrestler every single week.
33:09
But it's a damn shame, absolute damn shame. And now we have
33:14
a TNT Championship tournament taking place. Doctor Trey. For a second, I
33:17
was like, oh man, are they just going to hand the title Jack
33:20
Perry here, which creatively actually would have made sense. But I'm happy that
33:23
we're going to see some sort of qualifying match matches take place, and there's
33:28
gonna be like a tournament final of sorts in a ladder match for Forbidden Dora.
33:34
I'm digging that it's gonna be playing out creatively that way. Yeah,
33:37
it makes sense because you want people to earn it now. Honestly, Like
33:40
what I would love to see is basically there's like qualifiers and then you get
33:45
five people you know who have fought their way in and then for Matt and
33:47
Nick to go, oh yeah, and Jackson this match now too, and
33:51
I woantn't be surprised if that happens. That would help. That's how I
33:54
would kind of book it to like at least set it up that way,
33:58
so that way it lends Cream's the character because I don't know. Once again,
34:02
you and I talked about Jack Parry's one hundred and sixty pounds. He's
34:06
barely bigger than Marco Stunt. So sometimes when he's in a match, you
34:09
have to put him in positions where he can win just on brain power then
34:16
physical attributes. So doing it like that would make a lot of sense.
34:21
Next match here is Mercedes mone defeating Willow Nightingale to win the aw TBS Championship.
34:25
We both had Mercedes Monee getting the victory. I love the technical focus
34:30
on softening the legs of their opponent on each lady. The finish was kind
34:34
of clunky indeed, and it didn't build up well, but Mercedes has not
34:38
lost a step in the ring. I thought Money would have been booed going
34:40
into this one, and I felt bad that Willow was a transitional champion.
34:44
Monet was not booed at all. It was building that way and it did
34:47
not take place in Las Vegas. Statlander and Stokely turning on Willow post match
34:52
was surprising, and I wonder if Trump writer played a role in this.
34:54
Now they did not. They kind of acknowledge that potentially on Dynamite, because
35:00
you would see when all these situations happened, Statlander would come out, Bretta
35:04
would whisper in her ear, and then he would walk away and she would
35:07
kind of look perplexed. And I wonder if that had some stuff that was
35:10
going on that led to this turn, and I would love to see that,
35:14
you know, kind of alluded to a little bit more on aw television
35:17
if that was something they were trying to creatively get done. Nonetheless, Mercedes
35:22
Monee defeats well and Nightingaleen is the new AWTBS champion. Dot to try.
35:27
Yeah, I didn't. I didn't hate this match as much as I thought
35:30
I would hate this match. But I didn't love this match either, like
35:34
it's it's usually in this Like you're right, MERCEDESMANI has not lost a step.
35:38
Sometimes when she's wrestling people that are maybe a little bit below her level,
35:43
she drops to their level. I thought she carried herself as well as
35:46
she carried Willow, so I thought it was a pretty good match all things
35:50
considered. I am I am perplexed by Statlander the whole situation with the don
35:57
Kallis family, because I don't remember ever there being a faction that had two
36:00
managers in the faction. Like That'll be interesting to see how that dynamic plays
36:06
out if indeed Stokely is in the don Kallis family. I well, the
36:09
Statlanders stuff. I don't think she joined them though, Yeah, and she's
36:15
not really not joining them either, No, I don't. I think we
36:21
just have to see that play out a little bit more. I don't think
36:23
that she and Stokely joined the Don Callis family. I think that they just
36:30
basically acknowledged that Trump may have played a role in it, which I which
36:35
I thought was really good creative on that standpoint. But yeah, and I
36:38
thought that that's it's a good way of turning it. But then like a
36:42
the same time, I like going, well, but if if she's yeah,
36:45
it's just I'll wait to plays out because I love I actually like Stokely
36:49
Hathaway a lot. I think he's very, very underrated in what he does,
36:52
so I like I was. That's why back in the day I was
36:54
excited for the firm. Could it be Stokely on a bigger platform? So
37:00
I like Stokely getting TV time a long, and I think stat Lander as
37:04
a heel is going to be great, So I'm really excited for that.
37:07
It's just the the movements to get there are kind of intertwined, and I
37:13
need to unravel it a little bit. Next match here, Swerve Strickland defeating
37:16
Christian Kates retaining the AW World Champions. You're both at Swerve Strickling getting the
37:20
victory. This match made me feel like Swerve is now a world champion.
37:23
Christian helped Swerve look and feel ligitimate. If there were any doubters out there,
37:29
the house call kick while Christian was going for a spirit was an awesome
37:31
spot. They have done a really good job of making Swerve Strickland look like
37:37
a legitimate force as world champion. And I'm digging at Doctor Trey for two
37:43
guys that have been harsh on aw Lay as we've been pointed out as you
37:47
got it, I have got to give them credit that I think the creative
37:51
of Swerve in these matches he's had has been really good. Your thoughts on
37:57
this one A Swerve Strickland retains, Yeah, I love this match because I
38:00
hated that there's going to be a winner and a loser's match, because I've
38:04
loved everything Christian Cage has done since he started this whole patriarchy angle, like
38:09
I love it. I love aultree heels. I love those guys that don't
38:14
give a crap if anybody ever cheers them again, Like, I love that
38:16
stuff, and the Swarve stuff has been It's been a little bit of a
38:20
roller coach for me because I like Swerve as the heel, but I'm really
38:22
gravitating towards him now as a Babyface. This match was one of those matches
38:27
where, to me, if you're watching this, you're like, damn,
38:29
he just made that guy a bigger star. What AW needs to do now
38:34
is get Swerve out more into the public because he is the hottest act on
38:38
their show. You need mainstream attention on him as well, so that elevates
38:45
the entire brand and elevates his star level. Because when people go, hey,
38:49
Aw's got all these guys from WWE, who's their champion and you say,
38:52
oh, yeah, Swerve strictly, you're still gonna get a lot of
38:55
who They need to get him out there more in the public so casual wrestling
39:00
fans know who he is and that helps elevate his starter because right now he's
39:04
on a rocket ship and you need to take advantage of this. And then
39:07
finally the main event, the Elite because it'scho called a jack Perry Matthew Nicholas
39:12
Jackson defeat Team AW Bryan Danielson, Darby, Allen Cash, Wheeler and Dax
39:15
Hardwood an anarchy in the arena match, we both had the Elite get and
39:20
the victory. They need to consider having music play throughout the entire match because
39:23
it is a really cool atmosphere when it is playing. They were doing that
39:27
with final countdown and then it was a very funny moment where Matthew Jackson had
39:31
them stop because of how much it costs, and like that's actually a legitimate
39:35
thing. Every time it's played, it like costs them like two hundred and
39:38
fifty thousand dollars. This is probably aw's most fun match concept that they have
39:44
created, even though the Casino Gauntlet match that I watched on Wednesday's Dynamite and
39:49
now that's the second time they've done that, may be in the running for
39:52
it as well. It was entertaining and an engaging match. The only thing
39:55
is that it can be hard to follow what happened to the other wrestlers for
39:59
a while. Jack Perry getting the finishing blow on Danielson was great for his
40:02
character as well. We saw that get followed up on Wednesdays Dynamite. The
40:07
fire spot with him was ballsy and something that will be remembered in AW history
40:12
for a long time. Really enjoyable match for me. Doctor Trey is the
40:15
Elite wins an arcade they arena. So is the stadium Stampede match still a
40:21
thing or has this replaced it. I think this has replaced it because they're
40:25
not in the stadium anymore. Okay, so yeah, because this, to
40:29
me was the most fun one I have seen since maybe the second Stadium stampede
40:37
they did. This was just it was fun. It is hard to follow
40:39
you have eight guys fighting in other parts of the of the arena. It's
40:45
you almost have to go like quad screen. You can't do split screen.
40:47
You have to like almost have four different screams up to follow the action because
40:52
it's hard to know for camera cuts when to jump to this guy, when
40:55
to jump to this action. You really have to play it out in detail
40:59
with your pa, with your director as to when to cut to certain things.
41:02
But outside of that, I mean, that's the only negative I have
41:06
other than that it was fun. It was great for everybody involved. The
41:10
flame throwers, the fire like, all this stuff that we haven't seen in
41:15
any of the previous entities in this match was fun as well. And at
41:21
least it's Jack Parry, Like you also had Jack Perry in a match with
41:23
two guys that are about his size, so at least it makes it look
41:27
more credible when he hits a finisher and gets a win, you know,
41:30
like Darby's his size, dances his size, even Dax and Dash aren't or
41:35
Dacks in Cash aren't that much bigger than him, so at least it lends
41:39
credibility. I mean, and even the Bucks aren't that big. Like when
41:43
Kazushka Okada is the biggest guy in an eight man tag match, that's really
41:46
telling on the size of the wrestlers involved. So but I thought everybody came
41:51
out. Look he's strong. But it did more for the aw stuff.
41:53
And like you said, the music stuff is great. I really like these
41:57
big matches like this, when you've got stuff going over where everywhere, be
42:00
really cool. Like if you had two guys Funny over here they have their
42:02
own soundtrack playing, and two guys over here they have a completely different soundtrack
42:07
playing, that would be kind of cool as well. A Match of the
42:10
night in event Radio excuse me, papers you prediction record. I went nine
42:14
and one, Doctor Trey went eight and two. I just want to say
42:16
that Doctor Trey and I to completely dislocate our shoulders and pat ourselves on the
42:21
back AW Dynasty W Backlash W Queen and King and Queen of the Ring.
42:27
Both of us went twenty and oh in our predictions for all three of those
42:30
shows, and in the last four pay per views, I went twenty nine
42:36
to one. Doctor Trey went twenty eight and two. I mean, can
42:38
we can we parlay this into like DraftKings or FanDuel, Like, what are
42:43
we doing? Can we parlay this into getting on the booking committee for AW?
42:46
Maybe? Maybe? So I'm just want to say we're doing pretty damn
42:50
good for predictions. I'm at sixty four and nine on the year, Doctor
42:52
Tray at fifty eight and fifteen. Match of the Night and event ratio.
42:57
I gave my Match the Night to well lost Brain Roderick Strong. That was
43:00
a tough call because I thought Swerve and Christian was in there, and I
43:02
thought Elite and teammate w was in there as well. As an event rating,
43:08
I gave it a three point nine out of five. Doctor Trey,
43:12
Well, okay, I'm gonna top you again. I went four point one.
43:15
I really enjoyed the show, I guess I Queen King of the Ring
43:17
was solid. This show, to me was a little more fun. I
43:21
imagine. I was Swerve and Christian because they're my two favorite guys in AW
43:24
to watch and they had a really solid damn match, So I can't ost
43:29
Bray and Strong was great, Anarchy in the arena was great, even you
43:32
know, Malachi and Copeland was great. But to me, Swerve and Cage
43:37
are my two favorite guys to watch and that they had a hell of a
43:38
match, I can't go against that one. So again, Doctor Trey and
43:43
I have really enjoyed another twenty twenty four AW pay per view. So before
43:47
anybody goes out there and says like we're haters, we're not. We really
43:51
actually enjoy what is going on from all wrestling. While there is stuff that
43:58
is very positive, there's obviously the negative spin of it as well. A
44:01
report came out heading into Double or Nothing Doctor Trey that, according to Wrestling
44:06
Observer Newsletter, AW went from a fun place to work with a great backstage
44:12
camaraderie when w talent for the most part, we're walking on eggshells to a
44:15
place with a lot of frustration from wrestlers making a nice and even great living
44:20
but not getting anywhere near the ringtime nor upward mobility they had hoped for.
44:25
That came to us again from Wrestling Observer Newsletter. It reminds me of like
44:29
everything that we had heard about twenty nineteene when AW launched. There was also
44:35
a report out there, I think for Brian Alvarez that said that there's a
44:38
lot of changes to dynamites and collisions and rampages heading into like hours before the
44:45
show, sometime like as the show's going on, which reminds me a lot
44:47
OFE. So it appears that there's some wrestlers that are frustrated right now,
44:52
and that's not a good thing because w's hitting on all cylinders and AW why
44:57
they had a great pay per view over the weekend. They're doing some stuff
45:00
that got people really upset when they work for WA and you're seeing people walk
45:04
away or their contracts expire. Ethan Page will talk about him in a little
45:07
bit. Jack Hager his report. His contract has reportedly expired, Mark Henry
45:13
and arn Anderson back behind the scenes, their contracts have expired. You've heard
45:16
about wrestlers not being happy with their time in All Elite Wrestling because they're not
45:22
one of Tony Kahan's favorites. So it's just funny how the script has flipped
45:25
five years later. Doctor Trey Well, and it's one of the things we
45:29
talked about this is one of the things where we talked about them starting a
45:31
Collision was I was in favor of splitting the splitting the roster in half because
45:37
it would give more TV time to certain people. And when you see the
45:42
same guys on Dynamite and Collision and then Rampage is the only show left over,
45:47
and half of that show is recapping what happened on Dynamite, you're gonna
45:52
have guys fighting for TV time. And it is the nature of the beast.
45:54
When you have a loaded roster, Not everybody can be featured, Not
45:59
everybody can get a push. You just kind of have to wait your turn
46:02
and make the most of your TV timing and strike while the iron's hot.
46:07
And some guys get that, and some guys don't like swerve. Early on
46:10
in his aw run was not getting a ton of TV time, but when
46:14
he got TV time, he made the most of it and made his moments
46:17
count. So I get the frustration. But once again, when you get
46:22
your chance, what are you doing to stand out from the crowd and become
46:25
one of Tony's favorites to where then he utilizes you more than you know he
46:30
was. So it's the nature of the beast like if you have a loaded
46:35
baseball team, not you only have nine guys on the field at a time,
46:38
You're gonna have a bunch of guys sitting on the bench. You just
46:40
got to make the most of your opportunities when you get them. I did
46:44
see an interview with Tony Kahan recently, and he talked about maybe making Dynamite
46:49
three hours and like six hours of programming maybe the sweet spot to get everybody
46:53
featured. I don't even know about that anymore. I mean, if we
46:59
saw plenty of that were not good and they were three hours, and now
47:01
that they're utilizing that time very correctively, it certainly doesn't feel like a three
47:06
hour show like it used to anymore. So it's just interesting that how much
47:13
WA and AW like flipped in recent memory of the way that things are being
47:16
operated in AW versus W. I never thought I would see them basically trade
47:22
personalities. There's other stuff out there right now that's reportedly saying that Tony Kahan
47:28
is a lot harder to get a hold of than in recent memory as well,
47:30
which is not good. You want a boss that you can get a
47:32
hold of and have good you know, communication and transparency, which is something
47:37
that may be lacking all lead wrestling according to some of the reports out there
47:39
that are out there right now. So something to keep an eye on when
47:45
it comes to all lad wrestling, and I guess something that may keep an
47:47
eye on for all elite wrestling is if there's any interest with some of the
47:51
WWE stars that contracts are currently coming up. Three big names that are out
47:55
there that contracts are coming up as of early as next week and even this
48:00
weekend, Becky Lynch, Natalia and Chad Gable, according to Dave Meltzer and
48:06
ar Wrestling Observer newsletter. He said, quote, Becky Lynch is taking an
48:09
extended leave. From what I was told, It's not like a short period
48:13
of time. She was looking for a long period of time out. If
48:15
he seth Ron's not on the road, it makes sense for her not to
48:17
be on the road. They can't be hurting from money or anything where they
48:21
need it right now. Maybe she's looking at other things and maybe she's not.
48:24
Everybody is believing that she will return to We Doctor Trey, but if
48:29
and when she returns, it may be some time. Did we just watch
48:34
Becky Lynch's last match inde weev in the year twenty twenty four. Let's see,
48:39
we're in end of May sixth I will say probably, yes, I
48:45
don't we might not see Becky until the Rumble, Like does that make sense
48:49
because I kind of see this although is this kind of like the Johnny was
48:53
this like the Gargano Cannie lay break, you know where it's like, hey,
48:58
they might both be gone for six months, Like let them both take
49:00
time off like these two and I'm counting Seth, Like Seth and Becky have
49:05
been basically the workhorses of WWE for quite some time. Like, let them
49:12
take the break, let them have some time off, let them refresh,
49:15
recharge, come up with some left field ideas. I'll mja up and take
49:20
take a break, get recovered, heel rested, reinvigorated, take some time
49:23
off with the baby roue, which I thought it wouldn't rue the baby kangaroo
49:28
from Winnie the Pooh by the way, Yeah, okay, I'm getting confirmation
49:31
that is correct, that is true. Yeah, So let him take some
49:35
time off and then let Becky make her return. Let Seth come back and
49:38
survivor series and let Becky come back at the Rumble. Yeah, I don't
49:42
think Becky's leaving. I mean Seth resigned with w w wee courding reports,
49:45
so I can't see her leaving. I am concerned about the other names,
49:50
Chad Gable and Natalio, because they've both been featured on WE television lately,
49:53
especially Chad Gable courting Fight Full Select. Chad Gables WE contract is set to
49:59
expire next week unless an extension or a new deal is reached, and he
50:02
is in one of the best I think top five storylines in WWE right now,
50:07
Doctor Trey, Like, that's shocking that it's getting that eerily close,
50:10
unless of who he thinks there's no way he's leaving, or maybe Chad Gables
50:14
said I'm not leaving. Let's work out these details and we'll be good to
50:16
go. Yeah. I don't see Gable leaving, I mean literally, Like
50:21
one of his best friends is Jason Jordan, producer for the show. He's
50:23
been featured way more. I do love that was it was it Corey Graves
50:30
or who or who might been to wait, you know, might be big
50:32
Ee. That referenced the shorty g gimmick on the kickoff show at King of
50:37
the Ring this weekend, and I was like, ooh, I didn't know
50:42
we were going to bring that stuff up, because basically, if Otis turns
50:45
on Gable Monday Night, gables contract hasn't been resigned. He's gonna be off
50:50
TV for a while. If Otis doesn't turn Monday Night, then Gables resigned,
50:53
he'll be around for a while. So I'm not worried about Gable.
50:57
And Italia might be the more interesting one because even though her husband's a producer
51:01
for WWE, she does have the tie into Owen's family if they're doing the
51:07
whole Owen Heart tournament coming up soon. So it wouldn't surprise me seeing an
51:10
Italian jump from ww to AW and the show up for the Owen Hart Tournament.
51:16
That wouldn't be shocking because she's been there forever and although she's getting features
51:22
in storylines, it's NXT type stuff and not you know, Women's World Championship,
51:27
Women's Championship, none of those title matches. So I wouldn't be shocked
51:30
to see Natalia jump more maybe more so than anybody any of the other three
51:35
we mentioned, or up to two we mentioned. According to Dave Maltim regards
51:37
to Natalia, he said that Natalia has reportedly still not signed a new deal
51:42
from w WI, saying, quote, yeah, she hasn't signed a new
51:45
deal, but you know, I don't know that there's anything to be alarmed
51:46
over anything like that, but that is the situation. So Natalia may be
51:52
free as well. I would be shocked if all three of them are not
51:55
with w WIE by the end of next month. Yeah, I mean I
52:00
would be too. I mean Becky said the same thing a couple a few
52:02
weeks back, heading into WrestleMania, that she wasn't she wasn't worried about her
52:08
contracts. She thought it would all get worked out. So I expect all
52:15
three to re sign basically because you know, two of them their significant others
52:20
are still in the company and Chad Gable, Like, if Chad Gable jumped
52:23
to AW, he wouldn't get featured any more than anybody else. He'd be
52:28
at the bottom of the car, and right now he's got a good storyline.
52:31
If I had to pick one of the three to jump, it might
52:34
be probably an Italia. But I don't expect any one of the three to
52:38
go to AW. And the last thing I want to bring up here on
52:40
this week's edition the podcast is Doctor Trey match at the start of the show.
52:45
A ton of wrestling this past week. We had Friday SmackDown and Rampage,
52:49
Saturday Collision and King Queen the Ring, Sunday Double or Nothing, Monday
52:53
Raw, Tuesday NXT, Wednesday, aw DYNA Might, and here we are
52:57
today recording. So every day of the week since we last recorded, there's
53:00
been restling going on. And I thought the one program that was the most
53:06
potentially one of the most underrated and entertaining and surprisingly entertaining shows this week was
53:13
WWE NXT. It felt like a throwback this past Tuesday, argaining back to
53:20
the days of when it was on the w NET for an hour and then
53:22
it would lead into all those great takeovers that we saw from twenty sixteen to
53:27
twenty nineteen. And the reason for that is it was good wrestling, buzzworthy
53:31
surprises, and it was just an interesting episode of the show. The surprise
53:37
is Ethan Page now with WE. He takes out Trick Williams and is revealed
53:42
to be the one that took out Oro Mensa and Noam Dar over the last
53:46
couple of weeks on NXC Television. Jordan Grace, the current TNA Knockouts Champion
53:52
makes a surprise debut in NXT and she is set to challenge Roxane Perez for
53:58
the NXT Women's Championship at Battleground at the UFC Apex next Saturday, which is
54:06
like a mind blowing match that w and TNA are having a one on one
54:10
match in the history of this entire podcast, because at one time, TNA
54:15
was the legit number two. More on that relationship in just a second.
54:20
And then I had no idea who she was. And this is just the
54:22
thirty seven year old male in me. I had no idea who Sexy Red
54:25
was. I have no clue. Doct Trey, did you have any idea?
54:30
I thought that was Kevin Nash's ego in the wolf Back of NWOL.
54:35
Yeah, that makes sense. I mean that's where I would have landed as
54:37
well. She was an interesting host. She definitely made the camera go into
54:43
different directions the other night because of some of the things that she was doing
54:46
in the ring. I guess she's pretty popular, but I thought she did
54:52
her job pretty decently well. And I guess she's gonna be sticking around NXT
54:54
for a little bit here and there as well. I love this past week's
55:00
edition of NX Doctor Trey, it felt like a throwback episode and I was
55:02
like, this is the black and Gold brand that I loved. Yeah.
55:07
No, the Ethan Page stuff reminded me of when Bobby Rude came in NXT.
55:12
I know it did, Samoa Joe I got those vibes too, Yeah,
55:15
it was. I mean the difference was they you know, we kind
55:17
of saw that they did the shot of the guys in the crowd, you
55:21
know, weeks before they actually debuted. You could do Ethan Page, but
55:25
like the appearance, the way he was presented, like he's already being presented
55:30
as a main event level talent in his first night there in NXT. And
55:35
then to me, the the Jordan Gray stuff. I think this is one
55:37
of the things where like Triple H might have heard of her or knew a
55:42
little better, but then when he saw her in person and saw how jacked
55:45
and ripped she is, was kind of like, oh, and she can
55:49
wrestle too, Holy cow. Like that's one of the things where it just
55:52
feels like she became a Triple H person just right away when they first like
55:59
laid eyes on each other, because that's how it felt and the presentation the
56:01
Shock, and I love the report I read where in rehearsals they didn't they
56:07
never use her music, they used other people's music, and Roxane Prez did
56:10
not want to know who it was going to be because she wanted a genuine
56:15
reaction as well. Oh, I didn't know that part. I heard that
56:17
they put down like Alexa Bliss and Lida and I actually played like Leda's music.
56:22
I did not know Roxane press that did not want to know who it
56:23
was. Yeah, they had told her, they had, They told her
56:27
that she had a mystery opponent, but she was like, well, I
56:29
don't want to know who it is. I want just to find out when
56:30
we do it. And then she did not know it was going to be
56:34
Jordan Grace. Wow. So that reaction she got with the music hit and
56:37
she's and she saw her walk out was legit. So like, I thought
56:42
that was really well done. That's also why Roxanne really didn't say a whole
56:45
lot in that promo. When I went back and forth, it was Bailey
56:49
Jordan talking because Roxanne didn't know who it was going to be. She couldn't
56:52
prepare for it. So I thought it was really well done. Loved the
56:54
segment. It was a lot of that throwback by because it gave me a
56:59
little bit of you know, Monday Night War throwback when surprise appearances and shocking
57:04
angles and it did you google Sexy Red during the show? When you or
57:09
after the show? I did before the show or and when they were leading
57:13
into it. I still don't have like my head around exactly like I guess
57:16
she's a rapper. I guess I'm with you, but that but that's exactly
57:21
what they wanted is for us older people to go, wait, who is
57:23
this person? And then google it because now she's trending. The show's trending
57:28
from the people who knew she was. So they did exactly what they want
57:30
to do by getting eyes on the product and getting each entity known, whether
57:35
it's like wrestling fans googling sexy Red or sexy Red fans googling NXT to find
57:39
out what that is. They accomplished their task. So it was a great
57:43
show from top to bottom. And I'm look, you know, if anybody's
57:47
listened to the show for the last five years, you guys know, I'm
57:49
an Ethan Page fan from his time in TNA with the North with Josh Alexander
57:53
so loves some Ethan Page loves them Jordan Grace and like just a great show
57:58
from top to bottom. The big new here is obviously there is some sort
58:01
of deal between W and TNA. According to reports, Jordan Grace has three
58:07
appearances with an XTD, the one we just saw this past Tuesday. She'll
58:09
be taking on Stevie Turner and a match on NXC television this Tuesday, and
58:13
then the Battleground match that Saturday, and the three appearances are somewhere in the
58:17
six figure range, which is a very nice pay day for Jordan Grace.
58:22
WW is obviously very high on her. She's still under contract for at least
58:24
a year, according to the reports. Rest of Votes tweeted out earlier on
58:29
Thursday, saying quote, while the exact details of the dealer are unknown,
58:32
as they should be, I'm told the partnership between WW and t and A
58:36
has been months in the making. W love the feedback and energy from Jordan
58:39
Grace's Rumble appearance, and we're eager to use her again. Opportunely, there
58:44
are tentative plans for additional superstars to make crossover appearances in due time. Both
58:47
companies understand that a slow, thoughtful approach is the best way forward in the
58:52
beginning stages. A fan head ass also, is there a possibility of Jordan
58:57
winning the championship at Battleground and rest of us said possibility question mark, Yes,
59:02
So there is some sort of agreement there, and it's groundbreaking w for
59:06
WWE, Doctor Tree, because this is not something they typically do, Doctor
59:08
Trey, and to see ww and TNA working together here in twenty twenty four
59:14
definitely warms my twenty ten heart when we first started doing this podcast, and
59:20
I'll be really intrited to see where this goes moving forward. If it's just
59:22
going to be NXC only if we see some raw or SmackDown folks over there,
59:27
if we see some TNA folks not only jump to NXC, but raw
59:30
or SmackDown as well. This definitely benefits both brands, obviously TNA more than
59:35
WWE, because why would w WE need more eyes on it. It just
59:38
goes to show that anything can happen in worldrest and entertainment, and that is
59:42
a good thing. I dig this, Doctor Trey. I'm excited for this
59:45
deal between the two companies and hopefully it plays out a lot more than my
59:49
excitement back in what was it late twenty twenty when AW and TNA were working
59:52
together. Well, I mean the excitement level we had in twenty twenty was
59:57
great. The payoff was what was really disappointed us. But yeah, like
1:00:01
I'm I'm really excited for this, Like I'm you know, everybody knows I'm
1:00:05
the teena guy I watch probably more ten than anybody else on this show.
1:00:09
I have friends in that company, I have friends in NXC and WWE,
1:00:14
so for me to see it play out is really great. And selfishly,
1:00:20
I believe one of my bold predictions was gonna be that ww bought out TNA
1:00:23
this year, so maybe there's still an inkling of a chance. Because the
1:00:29
more opportunities for their wrestlers and I mean WW NXT wrestlers and maybe even SmackDown
1:00:35
and raw guys to get ring time anywhere they can and be featured anywhere they
1:00:38
can is good for the product as a whole as it expands and grows.
1:00:44
So hey, if you see you know, Rich Holland show up and impact
1:00:47
wrestling like that would be fantastic. By the way, going back Ethan Page,
1:00:53
I love that they literally started to say, oh my god, that's
1:00:57
Ethan Page, didn't we just see him in a And then Booker t cut
1:01:00
them off mid sentence. I don't know if you heard that on the show,
1:01:04
and then laid out like that. I was as well that they started
1:01:07
to allude to it, but then it cut off and guys like you and
1:01:12
me when he almost said ae w and they didn't do it. But I
1:01:15
love how they played that off verbally. Yeah. No, according to the
1:01:17
reports, that was a line that was scripted for Vic Joseph. So that
1:01:21
was really cool and I liked that they're doing that. I like their acknowledge
1:01:23
in that. And as Doctor Trey matched, that was one of his bold
1:01:27
predictions. He had TKO Group Holdings buys TNA Wrestling and uses it as a
1:01:31
developmental brand. So that's maybe maybe it's happening. You know. There were
1:01:37
some rumblings that maybe TNA was going to be joining WE network on Peacock they
1:01:42
were calling their show's premium live events. There's plenty of former w stars over
1:01:45
there now, like Musafa Ali and Nick Nemith known as DOLFH. Siegler.
1:01:51
So like musaf Ali was set to be like really, I think he was
1:01:55
gonna win the North American Championship and then they fired him and he's gone on
1:02:00
to have a really good independent career so far. So there's a lot of
1:02:04
former Doughue talents that are in t and A right now that we'll see how
1:02:07
that crossover plays out and where this goes from here. So you know,
1:02:13
if you get an NX T versus TNA storyline at some point, I'm here
1:02:15
for it. It only benefits both brands and gets more eyes on the professional
1:02:20
wrestling product. So very cool times it felt like a throwback episode of NXT
1:02:23
and I really dug it. With that said, let's close up shop on
1:02:28
this week's edition the show and get a couple plugs and sponsors out of the
1:02:30
way. You can download the show every Thursday or Friday at Real Guy Radio

1:03:09
prevent me from going, So be sure check that out on Facebook. Chake
1:03:13
out Spartan Championship Wrestling on Facebook as well, and also goad and find out
1:03:16
your local independent wrestling shows so you can find that person that's gonna make a
1:03:21
surprise appearance on NXT or be featured on a Ring of Honor show, Because
1:03:25
I don't know what Ring of Honor shows look like right now. I'm just
1:03:30
gonna throw it out there, one last little bold prediction as we close up
1:03:32
shop. Here you saw Brooks Jensen. If you haven't seen the ad on
1:03:35
Twitter, he is reportedly saying that he is no longer with the company.
1:03:39
I think it's all storyline and I want not be shocked if he shows up
1:03:42
in TNA relatively soon, that would be a nice little fresh code of paint
