Veteran reliever Peter Strzelecki, a key bullpen depth piece for the Milwaukee Brewers, has opted out of his minor league deal and become a free agent. Though he never pitched in the majors this season, his strong Triple-A performance — a 4.06 ERA in 31 innings with 37 strikeouts and just 6 walks — and solid MLB track record (3.44 ERA in 77 appearances) made him valuable.
