- 0:17Speaker 2: Oh Mark, Mark? We have the same thing out here.
- 0:19Speaker 2: If you've got New York, we have a place called
- 0:21Speaker 2: the Zone. It's just blocks and blocks of blue tarp
- 0:25Speaker 2: and it's homeless everywhere. And the sad thing is the
- 0:28Speaker 2: dog is. They have to give the dogs these little
- 0:30Speaker 2: pants otherwise they burn their feet when they walk down
- 0:33Speaker 2: the street because the street's so hot, and they're doing
- 0:36Speaker 2: nothing to get rid of them. They're just homeless people everywhere.
- 0:38Speaker 1: And where are you in Arizona?
- 0:41Speaker 2: Phoenix?
- 0:41Speaker 1: Phoenix, Phoenix has a big homeless problem. That's gonna be
- 0:45Speaker 1: the one.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Oh god, Yeah, they're everywhere. They're at every stoplight. It's
- 0:49Speaker 2: like New York when before Giuliani got in. You know,
- 0:52Speaker 2: they're looking for money. They're squeeging your windows. The worst place,
- 0:56Speaker 2: there's bundreds of them.
- 0:57Speaker 1: The worst place to be homeless, like one hundred and
- 0:58Speaker 1: twenty degrees outside right now.
- 1:00Speaker 2: I don't know how to do it, man. I tell
- 1:02Speaker 2: them all the time, when you go get a job.
- 1:04Speaker 2: You'd be working in sidewards a condition, but they don't
- 1:06Speaker 2: want to work.
- 1:07Speaker 1: All right, Well, thanks for calling. It's everywhere. We'll get
- 1:10Speaker 1: to a shantytown, the Mandanie shantytown in a few minutes.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Let's go to Steven old Beth Page. Steve, how you doing?
- 1:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I Mark.
- 1:21Speaker 3: I just want to say, the best pizza in New
- 1:23Speaker 3: York and my opinion is Spialoni Gardens.
- 1:26Speaker 2: It's LL and B on eighty six Street.
- 1:28Speaker 1: It's good, it's good.
- 1:29Speaker 2: It's not to get a chance, to get a chance.
- 1:33Speaker 2: As Vincent about it.
- 1:35Speaker 1: It's not the best. It's a it's a landmark place.
- 1:39Speaker 1: It's not the best. Defara is better. John Za Bleeker
- 1:42Speaker 1: is better. There's a lot, there's better people.
- 1:44Speaker 2: You talk about waiting online when you go to it
- 1:47Speaker 2: doesn't matter if it's summer.
- 1:49Speaker 4: Or winter, you're gonna wait online.
- 1:51Speaker 3: It's really it's really great pizza. I've had all great.
- 1:55Speaker 1: It's not the best, but it's great. It's great, and
- 1:57Speaker 1: it's all right.
- 1:58Speaker 2: But you asked, Vincent, fence away happened to the owner
- 2:00Speaker 2: when he wouldn't give up the recipe. They killed him.
- 2:04Speaker 2: I'm sure, Vincent, I.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Know that's story. I know that's story.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Yes.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Pimoni Gardens a landmark in Brooklyn, legendary place. Very good pizza,
- 2:12Speaker 1: not the best. If you watch Dave Portnoy, you've seen
- 2:15Speaker 1: all the best. There's about ten that are in the
- 2:19Speaker 1: like the best of New York again, Barstool Pizza, one
- 2:25Speaker 1: bite Dave Portnoy, you can see where the best are.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Let's go to Mike in Parsipity. Mike, how you doing,
- 2:33Speaker 1: hilely Mark.
- 2:35Speaker 3: A couple of days ago, you were talking about how
- 2:38Speaker 3: dairy queens were closing up in Alaska. Yeah, and it
- 2:41Speaker 3: reminded me of a cartoons where the guys in Valley Forge,
- 2:47Speaker 3: the troops in Valley Forge were freezing to death and
- 2:50Speaker 3: along comes an ice cream truck and they shot it up.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Do you remember that one?
- 2:54Speaker 1: No Ah, Ah had some weird calls this time. Now.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I never understood how dairy queen could even open in Alaska.
- 3:03Speaker 1: You're in the middle of an igloo and an iceberg,
- 3:06Speaker 1: and it's there's an avalanche. Who even thinks of ice cream.
- 3:09Speaker 1: It'd be like selling hot chocolate in the middle of
- 3:11Speaker 1: the desert in Arizona. Let's go to Josh and New
- 3:14Speaker 1: Orschelle Josh, how you doing.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Oh, I'm Mark.
- 3:17Speaker 2: There's a million good pizza places in New York City.
- 3:21Speaker 4: You would invite a hundred.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Million illegals and dirt wills to America.
- 3:25Speaker 3: You have a third world country to get it.
- 3:27Speaker 1: It's Solva. Yeah. Well let's go to uh Walter in Massachusetts. Walter,
- 3:31Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 3:32Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 3:32Speaker 3: Good day, Mark. I seek your comment on whenever they
- 3:37Speaker 3: mentioned boots on the ground and Iran to really put
- 3:40Speaker 3: this sport to an end, they always say the US troops.
- 3:43Speaker 3: I never heard any really discussion on why are they
- 3:46Speaker 3: only considering US troops when.
- 3:48Speaker 4: Not Iran or UAE or all.
- 3:50Speaker 3: The other countries that want to put this regime to
- 3:52Speaker 3: an end.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Well, you bring up a good point. It's very good point.
- 3:54Speaker 1: When they say boots on the ground. I have a
- 3:56Speaker 1: feeling that Israel has probably the best troops in the
- 3:59Speaker 1: world for this particular mission. I have a feeling nobody
- 4:03Speaker 1: would be better on the ground in Iran cleaning up
- 4:06Speaker 1: things and knowing how to find the IRGC than Israel.
- 4:11Speaker 1: So boots on the ground might be a good idea,
- 4:14Speaker 1: but Israeli troops, because again, there's nobody more knowledgeable, more
- 4:20Speaker 1: skilled in that part of the world than Israeli soldier spent.
- 4:25Speaker 1: You could do it like you know, the Cuban missile
- 4:28Speaker 1: crisis or actually a bay of pigs. The real plan
- 4:32Speaker 1: was boots on the ground and then our air power
- 4:35Speaker 1: to back them up and protect them. That might be
- 4:37Speaker 1: the perfect thing. Let's go to Rob in Franklin Square. Rob,
- 4:41Speaker 1: how are you doing?
- 4:41Speaker 4: Hi, Good morning, Mark, Congratulations on a Barrett Media Award,
- 4:46Speaker 4: Thanks Ladily, Mark on a Johnny Carson Show. When Skitch
- 4:49Speaker 4: had Henderson left, didn't the Milton de lug replace replace
- 4:55Speaker 4: him before Dox sovereigns and took over.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Yes, there's only three people in the world that could
- 4:59Speaker 1: possibly know what we're talking about.
- 5:00Speaker 4: But yeah, and Sketch not what do you called? Doc
- 5:05Speaker 4: is going to be ninety nine sometime this week.
- 5:07Speaker 1: DoD is alive and well still performs now and then
- 5:11Speaker 1: he's ninety nine. Great point, Well, thanks for calling. Just
- 5:14Speaker 1: explain this. Skitch Henderson was the band leader of the
- 5:17Speaker 1: Tonight Show for the first he'd been the band leader
- 5:20Speaker 1: under Steve Allen with Johnny Carson for the first of
- 5:25Speaker 1: almost five years. Four years he was the band leader.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Skitch Henderson very well known, big part of the show,
- 5:31Speaker 1: and then one day he was gone. The next day
- 5:37Speaker 1: he wasn't there. Well, there was an incident with a
- 5:41Speaker 1: young young girl, a woman. There was some stuff. A
- 5:44Speaker 1: letter came in to NBC about this. It went right
- 5:49Speaker 1: to the top brass chairman of RCA which owned NBC.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Carson got it and they decided Skitch had to go.
- 5:58Speaker 1: They allowed him to resign and retire, but he had
- 6:02Speaker 1: to go very quickly, and they didn't have a band leader.
- 6:05Speaker 1: I don't know why they didn't think of Doc Severnson immediately.
- 6:08Speaker 1: But they got this guy, Milton delug who had been
- 6:11Speaker 1: around for a while. He was just happened to be
- 6:13Speaker 1: there and he looked like Skitchenderson. He had to go
- 6:15Speaker 1: tee like him, so they stuck him in there. But
- 6:18Speaker 1: absolutely no chemistry with Carson, so he had to go,
- 6:23Speaker 1: and that's when they brought in Doc. Same thing happened
- 6:25Speaker 1: with Jay Lenno. Remember the first year of Leno. It
- 6:28Speaker 1: was Wynton Marsalis or was it Branford Marsalis, Yeah, one
- 6:33Speaker 1: of them, and he wouldn't laugh at Leno's jokes. He
- 6:35Speaker 1: always had a sour looking face, no personality, so they
- 6:39Speaker 1: had to get rid of him. And replace him with Kevin.
- 6:42Speaker 1: So it's not the first time that's happened, but the
- 6:46Speaker 1: whole thing has kind of stopped now. You know, Paul
- 6:49Speaker 1: Schaeffer was a big part of Let Him and sure
- 6:51Speaker 1: he was kind of a sidekick, But nowadays, nobody knows
- 6:54Speaker 1: who the band is anymore. Nobody knows who the band
- 6:56Speaker 1: leader is anymore. That's all kind of vanished. I know,
- 6:59Speaker 1: Jimmy out on the look over at the guy and wave,
- 7:01Speaker 1: and he'll wave, but he never comes over and sits
- 7:04Speaker 1: on the couch like Doc used to do. Hey, when
- 7:07Speaker 1: we come back and Culture will be with us, lots
- 7:09Speaker 1: to talk to her about. We'll talk about our crazy mayor, mom, Donnie,
- 7:14Speaker 1: and a whole lot more. Just ahead on seven to ten,
- 7:17Speaker 1: wor
