- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: And of course, the state of Hormuz.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_16]: CBS's Elizabeth Palmer says the Iranians will be negotiating from a position of strength.

- 1:39[SPEAKER_03]: That's fast enough to fly from Los Angeles to New York in about six minutes, but the whole process from re-entry to splash down is only going to take about 13 minutes.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_16]: The Orion capsule will hit 32 miles the speed of sound as it reenters Earth's atmosphere.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_16]: White House officials are today warning administration staff against placing bets on those prediction markets.

- 2:12[SPEAKER_14]: Connecticut Democratic Senator Chris Murphy claims it's already happened ahead of the
- 2:17[SPEAKER_14]: They're on.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_28]: There's a lot of people inside that White House that are using these prediction markets to enrich themselves corruptly, and of course they are because the tone is set from the top.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_28]: Like a Wallace CBS News.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_16]: The Trump administration is acknowledging its claim that 5 million New Yorkers use Medicaid personal care services is way off.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_16]: The actual number is 450,000.

- 3:09[SPEAKER_24]: Cups, boxes, bags.

- 3:39[SPEAKER_27]: Redfin agents close twice as many deals as other agents, so when you find a home you love, you're not a step behind when it's time to make an offer.

- 6:53[SPEAKER_04]: uh... what a day it's been terror on pearl street as it eight twenty this morning a uh... Toyota Tacoma speeding through the intersection of east main and pearl left the road banged into a city concrete wall and a telephone pole and continued on down the sidewalk in front of the pearl street pub
- 7:17[SPEAKER_04]: demolishing a concrete bench and planter and slamming into the side of the building before proceeding on through the parking lot and hitting head on a tree at the house next door individual in rubber car of a chirol street was okay i was frankly calling nine one one trying to give them information because obviously i couldn't run out there as quickly as i'd like
- 7:48[SPEAKER_04]: You open the door and gets out.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_04]: There was no airbags to pull it.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know how that happened.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_04]: He's one lucky person.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_04]: And so are people who could have been killed.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_04]: And this isn't the first time.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_04]: Now I know you're gonna say, well, that big deal, you don't like pearls so you don't live a wait a minute.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_04]: I've seen earlier this winter, somebody had a planter out front.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_04]: Last year we had that car flipping slide sideways down the up.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_04]: uh... cyborg i've seen uh... both the electric poles adjacent to my property clipped off and stopped driving so fast through that damn better section there's plenty of time to slow down after you get into the city holy cow you know i'm gonna consult my lawyer because my feelings are hurt
- 8:42[SPEAKER_04]: And in any event, it really was a near-transity.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_04]: That time of day, you could have had a customer's car park there, getting out of it.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_04]: You could have had somebody walking up the street with a stroller or something, often happens.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_04]: And the guy wasn't impaired, they didn't do anything.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_04]: He gave me a go to some VNT stuff, driving on a sidewalk or something.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_04]: And I may say this, the response, you know, the fire department very nice.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_04]: They got there, swept the debris off the parking lot for, I know maybe they're not supposed to do that.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe I'm not supposed to say so, but they were very nice about it.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_04]: And good for them.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_04]: The police were very nice, and National Grid was there to check the gas meter, because it was right adjacent to where he hit.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_04]: So everybody did their job, and that was great for an emergency.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_04]: And you saw the video on Channel 7.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_04]: the North country's window on the world at noon so and you know i got to say he's a sponsor of the show but he's also a councilman ben shown gets a hold of me and uh... he came over this morning with his people they cleaned up all the debris and they're going to fix the front of the building and there's concrete work to be done and everything else is
- 10:05[SPEAKER_04]: not just a piece of sighting was a crack or something.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_04]: So I'm not claiming whiplash, I was in the building, but still.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_04]: And it was scary, man.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_04]: I was sitting there, because we had, you know, opened it eight o'clock, watching TV, right down near that window on the Pearl Street side.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_04]: What the heck is that?
- 10:35[SPEAKER_04]: It sounded like something, I don't know, crashed out in the road, and I looked my left and all of a sudden this image turned out to be a truck flies by the windows.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_04]: I look out the other window for it's a parking lot, and I see this truck going across a lot, slamming headline, headline, long, into the tree, and it's a big tree.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_04]: The tree's still there.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_04]: So it was
- 11:05[SPEAKER_04]: Watch it six o'clock today.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure they'll Right after I call 911 first because obviously I'm concerned about the Injuries, but then I called I think I woke Jeff Cole up as I called him.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_04]: I said you better get over here.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_04]: This is you know And they did last shock.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_04]: They came over and showed him the video.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_04]: They They got the out of we Provided video of the cops and You know call the insurance company all of that
- 11:35[SPEAKER_04]: I think the other guy had good insurance and registration in license.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_04]: He was okay on that liberty biberty.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_04]: That's who we're dealing with on that.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_04]: But so I don't know.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_04]: It was wild.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_04]: But I look at it and I see, you know, we all think of little things in life.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I'm not normally standing on a sidewalk in front of the bar, but sometimes I take the, you know,
- 12:04[SPEAKER_04]: You go out to move something, or maybe there was an interest snow, and you're just push it aside, and you might wipe out.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_04]: So, I don't know what the city needs to do to about that intersection, but there's something wrong when people are driving that fast, and it's not like the right of the city limits, and I don't know.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_04]: I think I should get a couple of those concrete jersey barriers and just put them right there.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_04]: You're the front door.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_04]: Part of the front step got chipped off.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe I'll get the welder to make some metal steps put them in there with nice railings.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_04]: And since it's, well, I don't know.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_04]: He won't charge me to school district rate.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_04]: So anyway,
- 12:59[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks to all the first responders for showing up and a nice job job well done and uh... all of that so that's that's my day so far what's your day consist of but after dinner on the air and after new march yeah that was uh... with really bad crazy in the absolute need to go down they just started some crack down in the electric uh... week
- 13:27[SPEAKER_06]: Mopads or whatever to want to go 30 miles an hour and not only supposed to go to any, but It's both uh, you know, not be driving down the sidewalks and running over Yeah, it's a bit yeah, there was one of those guys went down through there driving like that and it was a whole bunch of time-only protests Yeah, you know, you know, you know Where's the funny thing I talked to the individual
- 13:53[SPEAKER_06]: and uh... you want me to apologize but he said he fall asleep after pt i mean why what are they doing at pt where you fall asleep like that because he's not with access to any plane on his phone taking a napy's hiding in the minds room yeah i don't know what the deal was but it was i mean he seems present enough but and you got property damage and luckily nobody got injured or killed but you know it's very could have went differently
- 14:22[SPEAKER_04]: Well, and you know it always cost you something out of pocket.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_04]: I don't care with insurance because I think I'd just paid my insurance premium You know, I was just complaining the other day That's what I pay this every year for and because it's a lot of money and You know Anyway, that's a doctor ball and boy boy.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_04]: Wouldn't want to be a day lay on your belt while they're shoving like all your suit my insurance company Yeah, they'll subrogate it to their liberty liberty there and they'll let
- 14:51[SPEAKER_04]: Work out something so I yeah, but we'll see what it cost.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_06]: I mean I want people slow down and I hope they crack down on these electric bicycles Diamond all over the world.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_06]: Well, I mean at least they keep them out of the you know, there's no this thing was up all over the place.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_04]: And the funny thing was this was a 2025 Toyota Tacoma and the bags didn't even deploy.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know how this guy got out of it, but
- 15:21[SPEAKER_04]: So anyway, but he is going to need a new truck so Billy, yet with me, I'll get you the name and everything, okay?
- 15:29[SPEAKER_04]: Um, well, thanks for calling.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_04]: Alright, bye now.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_04]: Good afternoon around the air.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_08]: Good afternoon, Jeff.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_08]: Glad nobody got hurt.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_08]: It was listening to your situation there.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_08]: And you mentioned maybe putting up some Jersey barriers.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_08]: You know, I've been seeing Jersey barriers all over the country and especially down around 81 Syracuse Reconstruction down there now, it's a Jersey barrier city down there.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_08]: But my question to you is, where does that term come from?
- 16:00[SPEAKER_08]: Jersey barrier.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_08]: How did they ever get named the Jersey barrier?
- 16:04[SPEAKER_04]: They must come from New Jersey.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_08]: Well, maybe that's what they're made.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_08]: You know, they're all cement.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_08]: And they're heavy as hell and it must be expensive, but I've never been able to figure out how they got named Jersey Barrier.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_08]: That's one of the things that keeps me up at night to the chest.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_08]: So keep up the good work, glad nobody was hurt.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_08]: We'll see you on the radio tonight.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_04]: Alright, thank you so much.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_04]: You know, it was the first time.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_04]: Last shock, it was in.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_04]: He said he used to work here and he met me before years ago.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_04]: I don't recall that.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_04]: But he came over.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_04]: He did a good job.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_04]: He got a lot of pictures.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_04]: He got my video.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, I wouldn't call seven if it wasn't real news.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I'm not kind of calling him because somebody chipped over something, but I didn't call him for instance last winter when somebody slammed into a platter, but I'll tell you I almost have to, you live in an intersection like that, you better put some barriers up around your property, is there a common for you, there a common for you?
- 17:07[SPEAKER_04]: 315-755-1240 is our phone number.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_04]: If you want to give us a call to be on the air, we can talk about that.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_04]: Well, or you can talk about other things.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I don't know.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, there's a call.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_04]: But after duty on the air.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_13]: Hey, where are you?
- 17:32[SPEAKER_13]: I'm all you doing today.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_13]: Mr.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_13]: I was by your establishment this morning just I turned I was just coming to the corner coming down east may go up the water streets and I see this black truck don't what the sign now took the guy where he's putting that tree was there because he can't tonight guys could take half the house down yeah I'll tell you he uh well the road sign for you route 283 was knocked it's sitting down in front of the bar now
- 18:06[SPEAKER_04]: He got to get this, sir, there was, when his truck came to rest against the tree, a parking sign was, was poked through the fender and standing upright, no parking sign.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_04]: That's, you know what, you worked in public works, you know how it is to share one of those off.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_04]: And to have it.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_04]: That was just incredible.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, he said he was doing about 40, that's what he told me, well, I don't think so.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_13]: I was just coming past Grant Street there and the head and down and I got like a long distance mess anyways my research I was going to call yesterday and when he called yesterday late she said well she asked she's very she's called she asked good thought process she called about the rescue yesterday and the rescue service and it's kind of out of the
- 19:03[SPEAKER_13]: The service has been around since the early mid-60s when they started it, and it's a service that's offered, and I think that's I believe I've been called by council when I was, I spoke four or five times to council about the refugee.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_13]: Back in August 2024, there was a work session, and it was held in the city court when the council chamber was tied up in
- 19:34[SPEAKER_13]: The superintendent of the public orgs, the first set was he goes, I'm going to recommend we'd get run into city roadtakes.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_13]: Wow.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_13]: And he was one of the role-period tips, and I went to a council meeting, but I thought before the end of the three-minute limit, I'd be spoke ten minutes about it.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_13]: I got a pretty good history on it.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_13]: I'll be better than most.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_13]: I'll be better than anybody, actually.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_13]: Let's still run here.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_13]: Mm-hmm.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_13]: It's a governmental service, can we now look?
- 20:06[SPEAKER_13]: Syracuse, I keep track of things down there on Syracuse.com, they bought for you, they bought enough 96 gallon toasts to give everybody one.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_13]: Well, I was on a dead end street gun on those 14 houses, and today was my, was the grocery to pick up today.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_13]: With folks on one side of me, they put a bag on every couple weeks, okay?
- 20:29[SPEAKER_13]: They don't really need to pay for a monthly service.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_13]: Gentlemen across the road, he's probably dealing by himself, he probably made me two, three weeks.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_13]: Other side of me.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_13]: Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_13]: Usually, sometimes every week, sometimes every other hour.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_13]: And down the line, it's all, these people don't need to spend that money.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_13]: And a lot of people aren't aware of you, but I'm not going to tell them me, hey,
- 20:57[SPEAKER_13]: Our talk bill came for the next quarter, then the fact that last fall, the city changed some things around, now they've done a thing, I don't know if this is my administrative seat out or the council actually approved tonight, I wasn't at the meeting.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_13]: If you have or say you have your car, it's a lot of military here to see if people and we used to always
- 21:24[SPEAKER_13]: to notice the pickup guys moving these cans on the service.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_13]: So, okay, so we pick up the car, send it back, put it in reach, hot water wash, it disinfected to the next guy.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_13]: Well, no, and we always put a thing in a towel, always send the person a refund, whatever they had six weeks or five weeks or one week.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_13]: Well, no, they decided, they're not going
- 21:53[SPEAKER_13]: I guess maybe it's too much work.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_13]: That's kind of what I'm guessing.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_13]: Don't know that.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_13]: But, you know, it's a city or a hundred.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_13]: Say you get a total of something you get told you down to go somewhere for six months.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_13]: You're going to keep saying it's a hundred bucks they owe you.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_13]: I'm a big one.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_04]: Well, you know, I think, here's what I'm thinking.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_04]: We should, you know, all about trash.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_04]: They should bring you in as a consultant.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_04]: You'd probably do it for free.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_04]: First of all, we need two things in the city.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_04]: We need a central drop off point where people can do it for less because there's too many people now who say, I'm going to the dump today.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_04]: And then we need everybody to use like the towed service.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_04]: If you only have one bag a month, you only put your towed out one week and you pay $5 for the whole month.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_13]: thing would be they said everything last winter I went and spoke I was chased by a counsel person if you're not going to know my judgment.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_13]: Anyways they virtually they said we don't want any bags in the can so all of these means I'll throw by one day it was too bad except there by the old village for a bar two or three it was about six or seven coal feast and that's okay that's been going on for
- 23:12[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I just think that what they, I don't think the advice they're getting is good.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_04]: I know they talk to staff, I'm told staff wants to get rid of trash and they keep undermining it.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_04]: At least management does.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_04]: I'm telling you, either got to go big or go home with that type of service.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_04]: You've either got to try to capture the majority of market share.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_04]: by going after commercial accounts or whatever you got to do or picking up at every house or you just got to go home and uh... they just can't seem to get that in there they went on about a couple new trash trucks last year and then they're all talking about eliminating the service and that you know they're crazy
- 23:55[SPEAKER_04]: Hello, well, we lost them.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_04]: Well, Mr. Monaco is certainly a man that I would bring him in as a any blue ribbon panel on trash, I'd bring Pete Monaco in.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_04]: Well, anyway, seven, I don't want to get into that too much, but you know what I got to see among the things that they broke, there was that sign that was there, said the mayor's bar on it.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_04]: Then there was the bench that was demolished, that was concrete, a planter that wasn't too expensive.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_04]: I can probably go down to Home Depot.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_04]: But... Oh, boy.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to have to go shopping at Jefferson Concrete and get some barriers.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_04]: I can't put up with this.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_04]: I'm telling you, it's scared, but Jesus ought to be this morning.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_04]: And...
- 24:51[SPEAKER_04]: No, you just get tired of it.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_04]: Slow down.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I don't think putting a speed trap at the city limits does any good.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what these people are thinking.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_04]: But how do you do that?
- 25:04[SPEAKER_04]: It ain't 20 in the morning.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_04]: You can't even say, I won't.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_04]: You can't blame it on booze or weed or anything.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_04]: Just say, oh, I was at PT and I was tired.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_04]: All really?
- 25:15[SPEAKER_04]: But after noon you're on the air.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_33]: There is a city that needs to leave alone, they just raise the sticker fees, and your senior citizens won't be able to afford an increase from these private hall or they think they charge double the price of what the people in the city are paying the city garbage service as it is, just leave it a long way to thank you.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_04]: You know a lot of people saying they don't want to buy a big total, I mean they aren't that expensive, but
- 25:47[SPEAKER_04]: You know, like, especially some people, the advantage to this system is, like, let's say neighbors had once shared a tote and I got a bag this week.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_04]: I put my $5 sticker on it and you've got two bags you put five to everybody's.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_04]: And they picked a thing up.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_04]: I agree, if you don't, if you have an intermittent amount of trash, you don't necessarily want to pay for something every week, I get that.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_04]: I just think
- 26:17[SPEAKER_04]: Instead of running around saying, this is losing money in every weekend.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_04]: Say, how can we make it successful?
- 26:26[SPEAKER_04]: And this is the fundamental problem with government think, government think.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_04]: They don't think about how can we make it successful?
- 26:33[SPEAKER_04]: It's like they golf course.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_04]: And then go, well, this is losing money.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_04]: How can we convince the council to close it?
- 26:37[SPEAKER_04]: That's all they think about.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_04]: So, come on.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_04]: Come on, man.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_04]: So, there you go.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_04]: But after you do your own air,
- 26:48[SPEAKER_04]: That was, Mr. Monica was trying to call them in any way.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_04]: Um... Well, let's see.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_04]: Somebody texted Jeff.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_04]: I sure how true it was, but the driver was a wake all night because he had a sick daughter, okay.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_04]: Um, some other idiot writes in.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_04]: And I say idiot because I'm in a could be first step would be to stop defaming it.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_04]: That's from yeah, it's a good thing of the fresh department.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah Let's see what else is going on here Sell the bar to someone who will close on holidays.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_04]: That's a stupid comment
- 27:49[SPEAKER_04]: Well, listen, if he was up all night with a sick daughter, but just drive slowly, I mean, I don't know how you could be driving.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_04]: I just don't, I've come in that way from, in from the drum side of things, a million times, I never, somehow, you know, if it were middle of winter and you'd slid off the road, ah, all right, I'll buy that and you had a poll and that was, now, daylight, eight, twenty
- 28:18[SPEAKER_11]: but after dinner on the air how you doing good so uh... you got insurance right doesn't matter it's still an inconvenience and a hazard hey here it's an inconvenience you don't think that's happened so that happened to you now you know uh... i i just wanted to i wanted to kind of talk about uh... you know the cops and all uh... the city budget stop and all that i
- 28:47[SPEAKER_11]: When Mrs. Topple Pierce was on Glenn Curtis show I'd ask her a question and regards to why does and maybe I should ask you the question too because you were the man for 20 years.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_11]: Why does the county have $130 million a cow in the city is struggling and telling everybody they need to call.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_11]: It's as if the city is now inside the county of Jefferson that bothers me.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_11]: Well, yeah, obviously, you know, I mean, okay, let's talk about this week.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_11]: If the city council's cake couldn't get long for a few years or throughout the years, things have happened and not enough, and maybe there's been some mismanagement and whatnot.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_11]: But if you've got a hundred and thirty million dollars for us, and don't tell me, just become a fluctuating goal of up and down, up and down,
- 29:44[SPEAKER_07]: Mm-hmm.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_11]: You know, I mean, don't tell me, oh, it's not like that.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_11]: It's more complicated than that.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_11]: No, it's not.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_11]: It's not.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_11]: It really isn't sit down as government officials within the city, within the county.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_11]: Don't you, legislators, city council members, have a meeting.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_11]: Talk about the issues.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_11]: Get the big city.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, okay, calm down.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_04]: We're not going to do it.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_11]: Crazy It is it is not it's not 130 million dollars lost a cow and you can't help the city or want it I don't know and why does it anybody else talk about that why why does anybody are they afraid?
- 30:29[SPEAKER_11]: Mm-hmm Who what what's the problem here?
- 30:33[SPEAKER_11]: But can't they sit down at the table and talk about it?
- 30:35[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_11]: Okay
- 30:40[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you madam.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_04]: I agree who's my solution on trash just off have this central drop-off area Where people can bring their 33 gallon bags of trash and drop them in a big dumpster for free big dumpster Mother of all dumpsters 30 yard dumpsters line up 10 of them in a row and then For those who need pickup have that tote system Maybe you don't charge them five bucks.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe it's three bucks or something
- 31:09[SPEAKER_04]: And my God, if people are in need of a tone and can't afford it, give them one.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_04]: The amount of money we spend on other stuff, come on, come on, man.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_04]: Think of some creative solutions.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I'm tired of hearing it, the elected officials, they shouldn't micro-manage, and they shouldn't do this, they shouldn't do that.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_04]: We've got professional.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_04]: We do.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_04]: Why do we have these problems?
- 31:38[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, as far as city and county cooperation, we cooperated on the airport issued and took it over and some other things, you know, they were going to help out on this grant for Butterfield Avenue, that was another story, but if the city could get its act together
- 32:08[SPEAKER_04]: I wouldn't have any hesitation about going to Bill Johnson or any of the rest of them and saying, you know, this is a regional asset, you need to be a part of it, but you can't make that argument when you're sitting there saying this by a socks, it's losing money and we want to quote, that's not going to get you anywhere.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_04]: Am I wrong on this?
- 32:27[SPEAKER_04]: Or am I just a bitter old man?
- 32:29[SPEAKER_04]: Is somebody going to say, you know, ESOM or something on a post?
- 32:36[SPEAKER_04]: Usually
- 32:38[SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, I think if you trip me, Pete Monaco and Jake Johnson have put us in charge of it, I think we'd have it straightened out in a week.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_05]: 755, 1240, our phone number, if you'd like to give us a call, be back with more in a moment.

- 36:14[SPEAKER_04]: See something, I know it's going to really piss some people off.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_04]: but the difference between the public sector and not the employees in the public sector, like I said, the first responders did a great job this morning.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_04]: And they were all very nice, very helpful and understanding.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_04]: No problem, sir.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_04]: But when this happened, there was a whole pile of debris and stones and concrete and other wooden stuff out front all over the place.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_04]: So what did I do?
- 36:45[SPEAKER_04]: We got somebody to clean it up before noon,
- 36:50[SPEAKER_04]: What's the city doing something like it?
- 36:52[SPEAKER_04]: When he's houses, there have to be knocked down, they leave him for a year.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_04]: And he has not fair, you make them, you know, you just don't like them.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_04]: I don't like the whole system.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_04]: That's what you do when you're in the private sector and something like that happens.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_04]: You get it cleaned up.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_04]: And even if you're elderly and disabled, you find somebody who'll clean it up.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_04]: You do the best you can.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_04]: And you don't look for excuses, because nobody wants to look at all that debris.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_04]: Now, I do have another concrete bench on the side of the building, which I can move around front of anybody wants to come by and move it today, but you know, when we got somebody contracted to fix it up, then hopefully it'll be done soon, because that's what you do in the private sector, okay?
- 37:44[SPEAKER_04]: there did I put somebody off I hope so 755 1240 of the phone number if you'd like to give me a boot and a holiday on the air today and let's see I thought the mayor would come by and say something alright man I haven't seen

- 41:48[SPEAKER_04]: She said, I think she should run for mayor.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_04]: And I said, well, I don't know.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_04]: I'll pass the message along to her.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think there's a bad idea.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you got somebody who's retired now on time city resident, well known.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_04]: knows the city inside now and and knows what the issues are and is at an age where she doesn't have to worry about well i can't say that does what a thing or worry about what her boss thinks i think it's a good idea i mean i don't know if she does want to run but i don't have to run that's next year isn't it because i know marron comparable pierces says she's not running and uh... that means it's going to be to you know the doctor running and uh...

- 42:45[SPEAKER_09]: Oh.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, what's up?
- 42:46[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, what's up?
- 42:46[SPEAKER_09]: And one of your nephew has security cameras up, best of her.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah, I mean, you saw the video on Channel 7.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_09]: No, I didn't see it.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, but you'd better review it to see if anybody got
- 43:03[SPEAKER_09]: I don't think anybody can.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_09]: I lost it on your hands.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_04]: I was good.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_04]: I did report to the state that I had my feelings hurt and they said, well, you know, we, we give you a finding of probable cause, but you're too, too, male, too pale and too pale and we don't like you, you kind of people.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_04]: So, yeah, I couldn't get any help from there, but I figured the whole could administration to do something for me.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_04]: So I don't know, I think all seriousness, thank God there was, thank God there was no just person or kids.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_04]: You know, each one in the morning you might have kids walking down the street or any number of other things.
- 43:50[UNKNOWN]: Sure.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_04]: And it wouldn't have been any question.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_04]: They just wouldn't have been wiped out.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_04]: If that.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_09]: Oh yeah, so I have to see.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, okay, well thank you for calling.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_04]: I guess you could say that about any accident, you know what I mean?
- 44:11[SPEAKER_04]: So I don't want to, you know, just sit there and say, because it happened to me, it's worse, but got a nice text from NBC Water Town saying, complimenting on my comments.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not trying to be mean, but
- 44:25[SPEAKER_04]: You know, you kind of feel a lot of people feel that way.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_04]: Now there's others who don't, there's others who say, well, you know, whatever.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_04]: Um, but I will give some kudos, in this case, to, um, count some and shown who are A, contact me to make sure everything was okay, and B, because he is a contractor, obviously, you know, to say if I needed somebody to, to do that, which obviously may need somebody to fix it.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_04]: and uh... you know we'll get it fixed as quickly as possible as again that's what you do in the private sector seven five five twelve forty the phone number if you'd like to give us a hotel to be on the show shows today and uh... uh... what else if we got going on anything else well how's the war going
- 45:22[SPEAKER_04]: I've got big deliberations and is Lama-Bod tomorrow.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_04]: That was a, we got going on.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_04]: Once we got well, we'll look at two, two, two, two, two.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_04]: If we can't find some other stories here, that might be of interest to all of you.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_04]: Unfortunately, the share of US adults who say they follow local news now stands at 22% or four out of five of you.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_04]: No, no, what's going on.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_04]: That's it's sad.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_04]: It really is.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_04]: It really really is.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_04]: Because.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and I think that's why we get the government we get because it's run by only a 20% of the people who follow things.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, well, let's see, warmer spring brings high-o-tick risk.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_04]: Well, we need to ticks now.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_04]: Houston, never guy whose nickname was the tick.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_04]: No.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, let's see, here's that straightforward fixes to the bottle bill would make New York a recycling leader again.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_04]: Should get rid of that bottle bill.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_04]: Let's make work.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_04]: It's all it is.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's silly.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_04]: It's people taking bottles and putting them in different boxes and making three and a half cents.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_04]: That's all it is.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_04]: It's stupid.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_04]: But the media has sold us all on it.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_04]: But the media doesn't have to administer it or ride herd over to see the nonsense.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_04]: Like here's a story.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_04]: It's in the Times Union and Albany.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_04]: They say a 5 cent deposit.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_04]: Small handling for your three-and-a-half sense.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_04]: Well, you're paying three-and-a-half sense on your soda or beer.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_04]: All the support of industry of hardworking people.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_04]: You know, we need to get rid of that.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_04]: We need to go back to the old date.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_04]: Remember the old days when you had a nice tall neck bottle of beer and it had some wear marks around the side.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_04]: where it went through the machine when it was refilled, reused, actually, truly recycled.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_04]: Nothing gets recycled out, it all goes into the same thing and gets smashed.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_04]: You can sit there and separate them all and put them on the curb.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_04]: They all get what in the same bin.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_04]: So, we don't need that.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_04]: Or it used to be with solar bottles the same way.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_04]: Now they're collectibles, but, you know, you'd return them.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_04]: I don't mind.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_04]: Aluminum cans put them in a bag and taken them somewhere, but bottles and things, it's just a big make-work project.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_04]: And it expands to consumers.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_04]: And they've got us all convinced of, they have you convinced of me.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_04]: I've convinced it.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, it's good for the environment.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_04]: It's not good for anything.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_04]: Somebody just sent me a message.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_04]: Uh-huh.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_04]: Somebody said that the back nine of Ives has been purchased, I'm going to have to check on that after the show here, that'd be, that'd be news, you know, maybe I'll call John Moore.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_04]: 7-5, now I got less stocklies phone number too, so I know I got a couple of people to call, I can call it channel 7.
- 49:14[SPEAKER_04]: If I see something,
- 49:16[SPEAKER_04]: All righty, why don't we take a break and we'll be back with more in a moment.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_05]: Democrats and Hollywood elites are pouring money into New York's 21st congressional district.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_19]: Why?
- 49:35[SPEAKER_19]: Because they want control.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_19]: But Anthony Constantino, a true Trump Republican, is focused on something different.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_19]: The real needs of the North Country.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_19]: For Watertown and Fort Drum, that means protecting federal defense spending and the job supporting thousands of military families.
- 49:49[SPEAKER_19]: In Platsburg, it means stronger border staffing to reduce customs delays and protect trade.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_19]: In the Adirondax, it's smarter environmental policy, protecting our land while supporting logging tourism and local jobs.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_19]: From Lewis and St. Lawrence counties to O'Night Accounty, Anthony will stand with dairy farmers, protect Medicare reimbursement and fight for local health care providers.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_19]: And in Glenn's Falls, Constantino will work hard for downtown revitalization funding.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_19]: While Democrats push their national agenda, Anthony Constantino is focused on the real issues that matter here.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_19]: He's funding his own campaign, no special interests, and he'll fight for you in Congress.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_19]: The Democrats want Trump out.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_19]: We need Anthony Constantino in.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_15]: I'm Anthony Gazzantino and I approve this message.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_15]: Hade for by Constantino for Congress.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_22]: Hey, it's Ryan Clarie from FX Preparamence BC and the rising gas prices are starting to drive you nuts.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_22]: Maybe it's time to fight back with a ride that makes a whole lot more sense.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_22]: And FX Preparamence BC, we've got economical, new vehicle built for the North Country.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_22]: The All-Wheel Drive meant to be Seattleander.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_22]: The All-Wheel Drive puts rocks that sporty and sharp, or the All-Mew All-Wheel Dersports bringing style and versatility every single one of them, 29 miles per gallon on the highway.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_22]: So while gas prices keep on climbing, you could be driving something that keeps your wallet in your pocket.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_22]: And every new Mitsubishi has two years' worth of scheduled maintenance, saving you even more.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_22]: Come and see me, Ryan Clary at FXCopera Mitsubishi, Outer Washington Street Watertown, or shop at FXMitsubishi.com.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_22]: FXCopera Mitsubishi, fuel-efficient, built for the North Country, and built for right now.
- 51:31[SPEAKER_21]: We all have cans and bottles, so it makes sense to bring them to the Make Sense Redemption Center on Loray Street in Watertown.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_21]: The only fully automated redemption center in the area.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_21]: Your account is done fast right before your eyes, so you're on your way quicker.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_21]: Depend on a team of dedicated employees who do this as efficiently as possible because this is what they do, so you can get in and on your way without the hassle.
- 51:52[SPEAKER_21]: Make sense redemption center is open Monday through Saturday on Loray Street Watertown with speed, service, and savings just makes sense.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_21]: Bring your cans and bottles today.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_25]: Everyone has a reason to walk at the American Heart Association's North Country Heart Walk.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_25]: Every Walker who joins, every dollar donated, means more life-saving moments for everyone.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_25]: Join the Heart Walk on Saturday, April 18th, at Jefferson Community College.
- 52:14[SPEAKER_25]: For more information and a form of fundraising team, visit northcountryheartwalk.org.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_25]: The Heart Walk is sponsored by Nolton Technologies, North Star Health Alliance, Kenny Drugs Foundation, Samaritan Health, CNY, Brain and Fine, DC Building Systems,
- 52:30[SPEAKER_05]: The North Country spells news, AM-1240, W-A-T-N, Water-Tell, depend on it.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_04]: Depend on it, indeed.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_04]: I'm 1240.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_04]: I just got a text message about, and I don't know if it's true, so, but that the back nine of knives was sold, I got to confirm that through the principles involved.
- 52:59[SPEAKER_04]: And maybe just a, I don't know.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_04]: We'll find out that'd be great.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_04]: I'm in favor of that becoming an 18 again.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_04]: And you know what I would do if I had that back nine at petition to get an annexed into the city too.
- 53:16[SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, it's an interesting rumor if it's true.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_04]: Now one of the principles tells me it is true
- 53:31[SPEAKER_04]: Um, there's one hundred percent true.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_04]: Hmm.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_04]: Well, you know, I also heard this.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_04]: Here's a story.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_04]: We were talking about this private sector versus public sector.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_04]: Remember they talked about selling T signs?
- 53:49[SPEAKER_04]: In other words, you go up to the T and there's a sign that says third hole that has a picture of the of the hole and what it goes and, and then, you know, a sponsor's name like, you know, whatever.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_04]: whatever, anyway.
- 54:05[SPEAKER_04]: And apparently, like at Ives, within a day or so, they sold all nine holes of a thousand bucks a hole.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_04]: The city was trying to get 500 a hole and they still they've only sold three and they have 18 holes to sell.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_04]: And I guess, again, I'm not here to nitpick because public employees are a different breed and they do things differently
- 54:31[SPEAKER_04]: And there's nobody over there had to say something, he sold those holes, so if that's true, it tells you a lot, but it doesn't mean a city cap sell it all 18 holes for 1,000 bucks a piece.
- 54:50[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, look at the number of vendors they deal with law firms, engineering firms, those people should all pony up some cash.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_04]: What's the R-monim, you know what I mean?
- 54:59[SPEAKER_04]: you tell me between bond and uh... rarest beach and his cock and barkly and all arrested and they shouldn't be buying a whole each or more uh... but they just don't think of it that way and that's not going to solve all your problems don't get me wrong but it would be part of uh... i don't know just a thought
- 55:25[SPEAKER_04]: A few entrepreneurial thoughts.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_04]: If you're going to be in an entrepreneurial business, we collect money for what you do, trash collection, golf, anything.
- 55:35[SPEAKER_04]: You have to have an entrepreneurial spirit.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 55:42[SPEAKER_04]: Enough said.
- 55:45[SPEAKER_04]: Enough said.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_04]: Ah, let's see.
- 55:50[SPEAKER_04]: What have we got going on here that's got about four minutes left.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_04]: I've said so much today.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_04]: I've just talked too much really.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_04]: Talk too much.
- 55:59[SPEAKER_04]: Well, make sure you watch Channel 7 News tonight.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_04]: And we'll kind of go from there, okay?
- 56:12[SPEAKER_04]: I've never did put a picture up on my blog about that.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_04]: Miss Hap, I really should do that.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_04]: So anything else on your mind that you want to shit chat about today things are going on in the community um... we're very open to hearing from you come on must be something out there must be something well let's see
- 56:53[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, there we go.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_04]: Well, we'll put a couple of these pictures up on the, uh, on the blog there.
- 57:07[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 57:12[SPEAKER_04]: Anybody wants to come over and move that bench for me, they can no.
- 57:24[SPEAKER_04]: there.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_04]: You got a picture up there.
- 57:29[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 57:30[SPEAKER_04]: Well, like I said, watch Channel 7 news.
- 57:32[SPEAKER_04]: They've got some video on there.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_04]: You'll like that.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_04]: It is a visual medium.
- 57:37[SPEAKER_04]: And then you can say, oh my god, that's terrible.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_04]: Good afternoon, Ronnier.
- 57:45[SPEAKER_04]: What?
- 57:48[SPEAKER_04]: And I should have known that.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_04]: Well, what else we got happen in here, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do

- 59:25[SPEAKER_10]: I was just wondering what kind of camera system you have.
- 59:30[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I call Bobby Ferris, he can fill you in at it, okay?
- 59:33[SPEAKER_04]: He knows all the details, all right?
- 59:35[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, thank you.
