- 0:01Hey everybody, welcome to the good morning from the Chicken
- 0:04Coop podcast. My name is Kim Johnson and I am
- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happen to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the coop, and
- 0:23let's start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey, everybody, good morning. Very early birds are awake, but
- 0:32chickens are not. And I'm sitting out here
- 0:35listening to them as they're waking up.
- 0:37And I'm thinking, do you think the birds are worried whether
- 0:40somebody likes them today? Do you think the birds are
- 0:43concerned if somebody is going to be happy with them today?
- 0:48I don't. I don't at all.
- 0:50And there are times in our lives where people are not happy with
- 0:54us. There are times when people
- 0:56don't like us. There are times when people feel
- 1:00disgusted by us, angry, frustrated, whatever it the
- 1:04words might be, it's going to happen.
- 1:07I, I really need everyone to understand it's going to happen.
- 1:11It happens to you. It happens to me.
- 1:13It happens to all of us. There are times when my kids are
- 1:16mad at me. There are times when they don't
- 1:18like me. There are times when my my
- 1:21family just doesn't. They just are pissed at me and
- 1:26it's going to happen. And all you can do when you make
- 1:32a mistake is apologize. And if they're still mad at you,
- 1:36you know what you have to do. You have to let it go because
- 1:38the truth of the matter is it's going to happen.
- 1:41And if you know you did the best job you can do handling yourself
- 1:47by creating a gap in that space. If if something did happen that
- 1:52you did do something wrong, you apologize, you put some distance
- 1:55and say, I'm very sorry. I I own it, I'm sorry.
- 1:59And you did the best you could do, then you have to move on.
- 2:02If they choose to still be upset, if they choose to be
- 2:05angry, if they choose not to change and grow and with you in
- 2:09the processing get better. You can't do anything about
- 2:12that. And so often we as human beings
- 2:16forget. We want everyone to like us.
- 2:18We want everyone to feel good about us.
- 2:21We want everyone to look at us and think, wow, she's perfect or
- 2:26I'm perfect or whatever it might be.
- 2:29And it doesn't happen. It doesn't happen.
- 2:31It's not part of the human experience that we signed up
- 2:34for. Human beings like and dislike.
- 2:38That's just the truth. How many people have you ever
- 2:41met that all like the same vegetables and are good with
- 2:45whatever you put on their plate? People say no, no, no, I don't
- 2:47like mayonnaise, Oh no, no, I don't want that, I don't like
- 2:49carrots, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 2:51I mean, it doesn't matter what the subject is.
- 2:53That's why we have so many varieties of things out there,
- 2:56because we as human beings just can't all get along and like the
- 3:00same things. And no matter how hard we try,
- 3:05doesn't matter. Like I'm sitting here knowing
- 3:08that when I go in to put the weather on to listen to it
- 3:10today, there will be a political commercial coming on.
- 3:13And it's because, oh, the primaries are here and
- 3:16everyone's voting to hurry up and figure out like, you know,
- 3:20all right, we got to vote for who's going to be in the in the
- 3:24governor election. And they're all talking crap
- 3:27about each other and everybody's doing it.
- 3:31And you know what we have to do? We have to look past it all.
- 3:33And we have to say this is the way it is.
- 3:36This is part of my human experience.
- 3:38So what do we do for ourselves? Well, we make decisions that we
- 3:42know we do the best we can do. And that's all we can do.
- 3:45Do the best we can do. And then we're going to move on.
- 3:49We know we're going to keep ourselves aligned with what
- 3:52makes us feel good. Like for me, that's always being
- 3:55in the garden, that's always doing something outside, that's
- 3:58keeping my hands busy. It's reading, it's learning so
- 4:02that I don't get caught up in that energy, in that no matter
- 4:05what it is. And I will say it happens
- 4:09regularly enough to all of us that we have to have something
- 4:13in our pocket that allows us to essentially, OK, you know what?
- 4:19I do need to go to the garden. I do need to do these other
- 4:21things because I know those other things are going to
- 4:24instantaneously make me feel better.
- 4:26They just disconnect you from all the negative energy.
- 4:29So what are you doing that you have in your pocket that you can
- 4:32go to after you recognize? Hey, someone hurt my feelings, I
- 4:37hurt someone else's feelings. I've apologized.
- 4:39Whatever it might be. Even sometimes you don't have to
- 4:42apologize. It's like, hey, they just don't
- 4:43like you. OK, great.
- 4:45Don't apologize. There's nothing to apologize
- 4:47for. And then you move on.
- 4:48It's OK. It's OK.
- 4:51And it's OK to just move on and let it go.
- 4:55So if you've got something out there like that happening, no,
- 4:57I'm sending you a hug and let it go.
- 5:00All right, my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I
- 5:02will see you tomorrow. Bye.
