- 0:01Matthew chapter 24. Let us pray.
- 0:09Lord God, you're so good. Lord God, you are incredible.
- 0:17Thank you, Lord, for this book that we hold in our hands.
- 0:21Thank you, God, that you have given us your Holy Scriptures.
- 0:26You have given us your divine counsel.
- 0:29You have given us your Rhema, Lord, we, you've given us your
- 0:33spoken words. God, the breath here in ink and
- 0:39on page. Thank you, God, that this word
- 0:42is alive and active, Lord. And as we open your word today,
- 0:45I pray God for a supernatural discernment.
- 0:49God, I pray in the name of Jesus for a supernatural
- 0:53understanding. God, I pray that you give us the
- 0:57mind of Christ, give us the heart of Christ as we explore
- 1:02all these avenues. Father, I pray in the name of
- 1:04Jesus, God, that you will be well pleased and it will be all
- 1:09about you. King Jesus and Lord, I pray that
- 1:12you will hide me, hide my words, hide my thoughts.
- 1:16Lord, I decrease as you increase.
- 1:19Lord, show up and show off. Have your way Lord, have your
- 1:23will today. God, I get out of the way.
- 1:27It's all about you, King Jesus, Holy Spirit, convict us.
- 1:32Holy Spirit, be our guide. Holy Spirit, fill us today
- 1:36overflowing. And Holy Spirit, you are the one
- 1:41who will teach today. So Lord, I pray that it's all
- 1:46about you and your Kingdom come and your will be done on earth
- 1:50just as it is there in heaven in Jesus Christ.
- 1:54Holy precious name, I pray, Amen.
- 2:02Let's start in verse one. And Jesus went out and departed
- 2:09from the temple and his disciples came to him for to
- 2:13show him the buildings of the temple.
- 2:17Look at this. Imagine Jesus, He's leaving the
- 2:20temple for the last time. This was him turning and knowing
- 2:27that he would never step foot back into that temple.
- 2:31And the disciples, I'm sure, could see the sombre mood and
- 2:35they turn to him to try to cheer him up.
- 2:38And they say, look at all this extravagance.
- 2:41And if you go back and read some of the historical accounts, you
- 2:46will see the temple had gold all over the outside, which would
- 2:52blind you if the sun was shining on it.
- 2:55And there was slabs of marble as white as the snow that from a
- 3:00distance it would look as if it was snowing on that temple.
- 3:04It was so grand and extravagant. And let's see how Jesus thought
- 3:09about it and how he felt about this temple. 2 Jesus said unto
- 3:14them, See you not all these things, truly, I say unto you,
- 3:22There shall not be left here. 1 stone upon another that shall
- 3:27not be thrown down. And we know that whenever the
- 3:33Romans came in to take over that land in 8070, we know that there
- 3:39was not one stone left. And it was because somebody had
- 3:44set a fire inside of the temple. And everybody that was in the
- 3:51city all went into the temple to try to find some kind of refuge
- 3:55as they were being sieged by the Romans.
- 3:59And somebody had lit a match, somebody had lit a flame, and
- 4:04because of that, the temple was burned.
- 4:06And the gold that was on the ceilings and the gold that was
- 4:10inlaid melted because of the fervent heat and dripped down in
- 4:15between the cracks of the stones.
- 4:17And so the stones were not left one on top of the other to
- 4:21extract all of the gold. Friends 3.
- 4:28And he sat upon the Mount of Olives.
- 4:33The disciples came unto him privately saying, Tell us, when
- 4:39shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of
- 4:45your coming and of the end of the world?
- 4:50So you have 3 questions here that were presented to Jesus on
- 4:55the Mount of Olives. This is where we get the phrase
- 4:59Olivet discourse. And you can imagine our Lord
- 5:03sitting on the Mount of Olives and he's still looking at the
- 5:08temple from that vantage point. And the disciples wanted to know
- 5:14three different questions. Let's see how the Lord answers
- 5:18these three distinct questions. They wanted to know, one, What
- 5:25shall be the When shall these things be?
- 5:29What shall be the sign of your coming and of the end of the
- 5:33world? Four.
- 5:37And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man
- 5:42deceive you. So here Jesus is warning them,
- 5:47and he will warn them again and again to be on guard for false
- 5:53teachers, to be on guard for false Christs, to be on guard
- 5:59for the false religions that will spring up.
- 6:04This is a mandate for us today and the way that we can
- 6:08safeguard our hearts and minds and families and lives, the way
- 6:13we can make sure that we're not duped is by studying the real
- 6:18thing so that when the counterfeit comes across, we'll
- 6:21be able to identify it. It will feel different.
- 6:25It will be different. You will be able to tell that it
- 6:28is not from God when the counterfeit comes. 5 For many
- 6:36shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ, and shall deceive
- 6:40many. This is false religion coming up
- 6:43in the world. 6 And you shall hear of wars, rumors of wars.
- 6:49See that you be not troubled, for all these things must come
- 6:54to pass, but the end is not yet so.
- 6:57What he's saying is there has always been wars and rumors of
- 7:01wars. He's saying that that is not
- 7:05something that should make us turn inwardly.
- 7:09That is not something that should make us think that the
- 7:12end is near because there's wars and rumors of wars.
- 7:16There's been that since the beginning of time.
- 7:19Friends 7 For nation shall rise against nation and Kingdom
- 7:26against Kingdom, and there shall be famines and pestilences and
- 7:30earthquakes in diverse places. So again, a lot of times these
- 7:36wars create the famines, OK, the kingdoms rising against other
- 7:42kingdoms, the earthquakes, these are all things that we
- 7:47experience, but the end is yet to come.
- 7:51So a lot of times in the wake of a natural disaster or in the
- 7:56wake of a country invading another country, we all have a
- 8:00knee jerk reaction to think, oh, the end is near.
- 8:03But Jesus is telling us to be on guard and to not be deceived and
- 8:09to not look for false hope in leaders that promise us that
- 8:15they have the answer. We need to keep our eyes on a
- 8:19Savior. We do not need to be looking for
- 8:21a sign. We need to be looking for the
- 8:24Savior, friends, and he's going to tell us what to look for. 8
- 8:30All these are the beginning of sorrows, and we can see a lot of
- 8:35it shaping up in our time and our our friends.
- 8:38You can see these birth pains that are becoming closer and
- 8:42closer together. You can see the contractions
- 8:45coming closer and closer together before the child crowns
- 8:49and before the child comes, before Jesus comes in his second
- 8:54advent, you can start to see all of the beginning of sorrows.
- 8:59It's worldwide. 9 Then shall they deliver you up to be
- 9:05afflicted, and shall kill you, and you shall be hated of all
- 9:09nations for my name's sake. So here he's talking about
- 9:15persecution. He's talking about the
- 9:17persecution of Christians. He's talking about how because
- 9:22of his name Christ, that there will be many people who are
- 9:29persecuted because of their allegiance and alliance with
- 9:33him. And he's going to explain that
- 9:36there's coming a day and an age and an hour where the whole
- 9:41world will hate Christians. And you can see it starting to
- 9:46shape up. You can see the hostility
- 9:50towards Christ and towards his believers.
- 9:53And it all is based upon John 14-6 when Jesus says I am the
- 9:58way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes unto the Father
- 10:02except through me. What a bold statement.
- 10:04And that is not tolerant, friends, and that is not a
- 10:09moralistic approach to God. And the world hates the fact
- 10:16that Jesus is the only way, and there is no tolerance. 10 And
- 10:26then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and
- 10:33shall hate one another. You can see the hostility to
- 10:37inwards. You can see the hostility in the
- 10:41family unit. You can see he's mentioned other
- 10:44times in this good book, how your own family members will be
- 10:49the ones that are turning you in and that are turning on you. 11
- 10:56And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
- 11:01So as time goes on and asks, things continuously get worse
- 11:07and worse. During this time there will be a
- 11:11lot of people who are looking for hope and they're looking for
- 11:15it in all the wrong places. And they are deceived because
- 11:20they're running to the teachers who are tickling their ears.
- 11:24They are deceived because they delighted in evil and refused to
- 11:30love the truth. They are deceived because they
- 11:33refused the only one who could give them peace and give them
- 11:39salvation, which is Jesus Christ.
- 11:41They refuse him and they are still, even though in the
- 11:45refusal of Christ, they're still looking for some kind of hope
- 11:49and there is no hope apart from Jesus Christ.
- 11:53And that is where the deception comes in.
- 11:55It's because they refuse him but are still in need.
- 11:59There's still a giant void in their life and they want to feel
- 12:03as if everything keeps going on and that things are only going
- 12:07to get better. And you see it in our culture.
- 12:10You see it in our day and age. There are people that are in
- 12:13denial, and they only want things to get better and better
- 12:17and better. That is not what the word of God
- 12:21teaches us here, friends. 12 And because iniquity shall abound,
- 12:28the love of many shall grow cold.
- 12:31We must keep our love hot, friends.
- 12:35We must keep our oil filled. We must keep our Wicks trimmed.
- 12:41We must rely on the leading and the promptings and the teachings
- 12:46of the Holy Spirit. Do you not know that you are the
- 12:49temple of the Lord, friends? That the Holy Spirit lives
- 12:53inside of you, and we need to rely on His leading and
- 12:58teaching. And that is how we're going to
- 13:03make it to the end. That is how we're going to be
- 13:06able to be resilient. That is how we're going to be
- 13:09able to be resistant to all the cares and woes and worries and
- 13:14fear that are coming our way and bombarding us.
- 13:18As you see the world increasingly growing darker and
- 13:22darker, we need to make sure we keep our love burning hot for
- 13:28God's people and we need to make sure that we are snatching
- 13:33people out of the fire. Friends, just like you and I
- 13:37were 13 and he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be
- 13:45saved. So during the Tribulation time,
- 13:49there will still be the opportunity for those that were
- 13:52left behind for them to give their lives to the Lord, but it
- 13:57will be much harder, friends. And because of the beast system
- 14:04in the Antichrist and because of the Tribulation, it is going to
- 14:08be so hard for those people. And He's telling them to endure
- 14:13to the end. He's telling them that they need
- 14:17to make sure that they have this good book and they have read
- 14:20this good book and they know the instructions that he's giving
- 14:24them. He has made it plain.
- 14:26He has made the path straight and narrow, friends, that we
- 14:29must endure until the end. 14 And this gospel of the Kingdom
- 14:37shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto the
- 14:40nations, and then shall the end come.
- 14:46So we've always understood this as missionaries getting the word
- 14:51of God out to the whole world. But look at how technology has
- 14:56advanced. Look at how we can be anywhere
- 14:59in the world in a day. Look at how we can plug up and
- 15:03get online and we can reach people all over the world in an
- 15:08instant. It is an amazing time that we're
- 15:12living in. This is a profound time that
- 15:16we're living in. We started the 1900s on
- 15:19horseback and ended in a rocket ship, and look at where we're at
- 15:24today. Look at all the technological
- 15:27advances that allow the Kingdom of God, that allow the Word of
- 15:32God to be spoken of in all of the world.
- 15:37Friends, it's a beautiful time that we live in. 15 When you
- 15:45therefore shall see the abomination of desolation spoken
- 15:50of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place.
- 15:54Whoso readeth, let him understand. 15 is a verse that
- 16:04needs to be highlighted for those who think that all of
- 16:08these things have already come to pass.
- 16:11We have only seen a snapshot of what verse 15 is talking about
- 16:18whenever the Antichrist sits in the yet to be built temple in
- 16:28Israel and demands to be worshipped.
- 16:32This is the abomination of desolation and we got to see a
- 16:37snapshot of it with Antiochus Epiphanes.
- 16:42But that was only a foreshadowing of this event that
- 16:47is yet future friends and Jesus. In his divine wisdom, Jesus
- 16:57says, whoso readeth, let him understand the words of Christ
- 17:02here, knowing that these words would be written for you and I
- 17:08to hold in our hands. And he's telling you, He's
- 17:12telling me, listen, understand. 16 Then let them which be in
- 17:19Judea flee into the mountains. So after 8070, when the
- 17:27dispersion of the Jews, there was a very small remnant that
- 17:33was left behind, and it was not until 1948 that you saw all the
- 17:38Jews come back into that land. And here God is telling them
- 17:45that when they see the Antichrist in the temple
- 17:50demanding to be worshipped after 3 1/2 years of peace where they
- 17:54were allowed to rebuild their temple, then the Antichrist will
- 17:59turn on them. Then the Antichrist will demand
- 18:03to be worshipped. And here Jesus is telling the
- 18:08Jews flee during that time. Get out of there and we see a a
- 18:15similar story in Luke later on, we're going to see a different
- 18:20angle to this story in Luke 21, 17.
- 18:28Let him which is on the housetop, not come down to take
- 18:31anything out of his house. This is this is supposed to be
- 18:37an urgency here. Friends, do not dilly dally.
- 18:42When you see these things happening, run and flee.
- 18:46Do not worry about what you're going to grab.
- 18:49You need to leave. 17 is telling us not to take anything. 16 was
- 18:57telling us to flee into the mountains. 18 neither let him
- 19:01which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
- 19:05This is expediency and urgency friends. 19 and woe unto them
- 19:10that are with child and to them that gives suck in those days.
- 19:16So he's talking about nursing mothers, he's talking about
- 19:20pregnant women. He's talking about during this
- 19:25fleeing that Jesus is telling the Jews to do during the
- 19:29tribulation after the 3 1/2 years of peace for Israel.
- 19:34He's he's saying how hard it will be for pregnant women, how
- 19:37hard it will be for mothers who have infants.
- 19:42And most of this is towards the Jewish people.
- 19:46You can see he's talking here in 20, but pray you that your
- 19:52flight be not in the winter neither on the Sabbath day.
- 19:56So you can see a lot of this is likened towards a future event.
- 20:04That is pertaining to the Jews because they will have the
- 20:08temple there and they will actually see the Antichrist
- 20:11going in to the temple. Yet to be built, but you can see
- 20:19it shaping up today. You can see a lot of the markers
- 20:24that are happening today. 21 For then shall be great tribulation,
- 20:33such as was not since the beginning of the world, to this
- 20:37time no, nor ever shall be. So here is another issue with
- 20:44those that think that these events have already happened.
- 20:49There has been times since 8070 that were worse than what
- 20:57happened there in 8070. And so here in verse 22, Jesus
- 21:04is telling us that there's coming a time in a day where the
- 21:09entire globe, it will be worse than it's ever been since the
- 21:15beginning of time. It'll be worse than the days of
- 21:18Noah, and no one would survive unless God had shortened those
- 21:25days. 23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is
- 21:32Christ, or there do not believe it, 23 is a marker that we must
- 21:41look for. There will be many who try to
- 21:43come and tell us Christ is here, and we must not believe it,
- 21:48because he's going to tell us that the whole world will see
- 21:51his coming. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, false
- 21:58prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders in so much
- 22:03that if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
- 22:09So very interesting thing here, this elect.
- 22:15So the Church capital C has been taken up and out in the rapture
- 22:20before this tribulation, the seven-year tribulation where
- 22:26it's worse than it's ever been since the beginning of creation.
- 22:30And here he talks about the deception of even the very
- 22:36elect. There will still be a chance
- 22:40during this seven years for people to give their lives over
- 22:45to the Lord. And he's telling us to not be
- 22:49deceived. There will be many people who
- 22:52try to come and say, Come with me, for I know where Christ is,
- 22:57but Christ is not going to be hidden. 25 Behold, I have told
- 23:02you before, thank God that Jesus has told us before. 26
- 23:08Therefore, if you, if they shall say unto you, behold, he is in
- 23:13the desert, go not forth. Behold, he is in the secret
- 23:17chambers. Believe it not.
- 23:19He's telling us, He's making it plain, He's making it straight,
- 23:23friends, He is telling us what? To be on guard for these
- 23:27intelligence indicators, we need to make sure that our radar is
- 23:31on and our antenna is up and we'll be able to perceive the
- 23:37the deception. There will be little calling
- 23:40cards that the enemy leaves to let us know not to go with these
- 23:46people, not to go down these corridors of evil with these
- 23:51people, not to trust them, and to make sure that we are rooted
- 23:56and grounded in God's Word. Nothing added or subtracted,
- 23:59friends. The infallible, inerrant word of
- 24:02God. We do not need the Bible plus
- 24:04anything. This is His words, and heaven
- 24:08and earth shall pass away, but not one of His words will,
- 24:12friends. 27 For as the lightning comes out of the east and shines
- 24:17even unto the West, so shall also the coming of the Son of
- 24:21Man be. So we're getting to see what
- 24:23it's going to look like. It's a worldwide event.
- 24:27No one left out. Everyone will see this glorious
- 24:33coming of the Lord. 28 For wheresoever the carcass is,
- 24:38there the eagles be gathered together.
- 24:41He's saying that the the world will be ripe with sin, it will
- 24:46be ripe for judgment because of the sin of the masses. 29
- 24:54Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall
- 24:58the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
- 25:02and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the
- 25:05heavens shall be shaken. This is the sign of the coming
- 25:10of the Son of Man, much like whenever he died on the cross
- 25:15and even all of creation had a reaction.
- 25:20Here you can see this coming of the Son of Man in his second
- 25:24advent is going to shake the heavens. 30 And then shall
- 25:31appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven, and then shall
- 25:35all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the
- 25:39Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great
- 25:43glory. Look at this obscure St.
- 25:47Preacher who's about to be murdered, proclaiming that he's
- 25:54going to come with power, he's going to come with great glory,
- 26:00he's going to come in the clouds of heaven, and everyone will see
- 26:05it. And they will mourn because they
- 26:07had opportunity after opportunity after opportunity
- 26:11after opportunity to give their lives over to him, but they
- 26:16refused him, They refused the goodness of God. 31 And he shall
- 26:23send his angels with the great sound of a trumpet, and they
- 26:27shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one
- 26:33end of heaven to the other. This is a marked verse here. 31
- 26:41And what you need to realize is that he is gathering his elect
- 26:47from one end of heaven to the other.
- 26:51During the second coming of Christ we will be with him.
- 26:56It says that we will go to meet Him in the air, and there we
- 27:01will be with him forever. Praise the Lord. 32 Now learn a
- 27:07parable of the fig tree. When his branch is yet tender
- 27:12and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near.
- 27:17So He's answering different questions here at different
- 27:22times, and he's answering all three of them for the disciples.
- 27:27And you can see that these are marked at different times.
- 27:33You can see here that he's jumping back to us.
- 27:37Or we will know that all of the birth pains, we can look up and
- 27:43see that our redemption is drawing near.
- 27:47We can see the contractions happening closer and closer
- 27:50together. And what he's referencing here
- 27:53is these signs, but we do not look for signs.
- 27:57We look for the Savior. And we are ready for the Savior.
- 28:01And that is the whole goal here. It is not to just drag our feet
- 28:05until we see the signs. And then once we start seeing
- 28:08the signs, we try to get our lives back together because He's
- 28:11going to explain to us that He comes like a thief in the night
- 28:16when no one expects him. So you can see that we are
- 28:20called to be ready no matter what, with the signs or without
- 28:24the signs. But we as His elect, we as His
- 28:29chosen people, we will be able to see and to know that the
- 28:34leaves on the fig tree are budding out and that summer is
- 28:38near 33. So likewise, you, when you shall
- 28:44see all these things, know that it is near even at the doors and
- 28:49do not think that God is slack with all of His promises.
- 28:56Do not say that things just keep going on and on as they always
- 29:00have been. Do not forget that to the Lord a
- 29:04day is like 1000 years and 1000 years it's like a day.
- 29:09So whenever he says it's even at the doors, we must have
- 29:13patience. Friends, we cannot just be like
- 29:18the bottle rocket that goes fast and hard and then explodes.
- 29:24We need to be more like the locomotive that once it is
- 29:27started, it can chug along and chug along.
- 29:32And that's what we're called to do.
- 29:34Friends, we are not called to just burn so bright and burn
- 29:39out. We are called to be obedient
- 29:43unto Christ. We are called to finish the race
- 29:46well, and it is going to take patience and understanding on
- 29:52the part of the Saint friends. And prophecy is not to entertain
- 29:58the curious. Prophecy is meant to encourage
- 30:04the consecrated friends. It's even at the doors. 34
- 30:13Truly, I say unto you, this generation shall not pass until
- 30:18all these things be fulfilled. So 34 is a marked verse in this
- 30:24chapter. So did Jesus get it wrong?
- 30:30What does he mean by it? And there's a lot of speculation
- 30:33here. You could say that this
- 30:37generation, Speaking of Israel, Speaking of the Jews, you could
- 30:44say that this generation was during the time 40 years later
- 30:51where 8070 and the Romans came in and seized Jerusalem.
- 30:57You could say either one, but I believe that he is saying that
- 31:02the generation that sees all the signs that he has prescribed
- 31:07here, and he has told us beforehand, that generation
- 31:11shall see the coming of the Son of God in his second advent.
- 31:19It's even at the doors. 35 Heaven and earth shall pass
- 31:23away, but my words shall not pass away.
- 31:26So here is a beautiful verse that we can know, that we know
- 31:30that we know that we know that we know that we hold the
- 31:34infallible and narrow inspired word of God, that all Scripture
- 31:39is breathed by the Holy Spirit. We can see it here, friends.
- 31:44We hold it in our hands, and it is reading you as you are
- 31:48reading it. 36 But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not
- 31:56the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
- 32:00So he is relegating to God. He is having the meekness, and
- 32:05he is saying that God is omnipotent and knows all things,
- 32:10and it's all moving and according to God's plan.
- 32:14And it was a plan before the foundations of the earth.
- 32:19God had it all in mind. And everything even today is
- 32:22moving perfectly in line and in unity, and in unison and in
- 32:27harmony, friends with God's will.
- 32:31Don't forget it. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall the
- 32:35coming of the Son of Man be. So you can go back.
- 32:39And you can see in the days of Noah that there was so much evil
- 32:44on the world that it grieved God, that he had even made
- 32:47mankind. You can see here that it's going
- 32:51to be worse than that day. It's going to be worse than the
- 32:55days of Noah, unlike anything that this world has ever known.
- 33:00Friends, there is nothing that you could try to imagine that
- 33:05would even come close to the carnage and wreckage and
- 33:08destruction that is coming upon the earth, and especially for
- 33:12those who are going to choose in that day to believe in Jesus
- 33:18Christ. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood, they
- 33:24were eating and drinking and marrying and giving in marriage
- 33:28until the day that Noah entered into the ark.
- 33:32So you can see here that even in the evil that people are still
- 33:39reveling, that people are still engaged in marriage, that people
- 33:47are still having to deal with their humanity of eating and
- 33:51drinking. You could see that our humanity
- 33:56is not put on pause during the tribulation that things will for
- 34:02those that have chosen this world and those that are
- 34:05believing that everything is just going to get better and
- 34:08what we need is A1 world leader to save us from all of our woes.
- 34:13Those people will be so deceived and those people will be so
- 34:17delusional that they think that things are only going to get
- 34:21better even in the wreckage and Carnage 39 and knew not until
- 34:32the flood came and took them all away.
- 34:35So shall also the coming of the Son of Man be.
- 34:39We know that the second destruction is by fire.
- 34:42Peter makes it plain and he's telling us that the world will
- 34:48never be flooded. It will never be diluted with
- 34:52water as the first time, but Jesus here is showing us that
- 34:59the coming of the Son of Man will bring about the second
- 35:03destruction. 40 Then shall 2 be in the field, The one shall be
- 35:09taken and the other left. Imagine this, friends, what do
- 35:17we do with these verses? Verse 40 and verse 41, two women
- 35:22shall be grinding at the mill. The one shall be taken and the
- 35:27other left. The common thought processes
- 35:32with 40 and 41 are the rapture of the Church, which we know has
- 35:39already happened prior to the tribulation.
- 35:44And here in verse 40 and 41 you must reckon with one standing in
- 35:51the field and one being left behind.
- 35:53You can see that there is a beautiful rapture and you can
- 36:00see that even in the days of Noah you can see that Enoch did
- 36:06not taste death and that he was taken up, and this is likened to
- 36:10the days of Noah. You can see it, and it is
- 36:14beautiful. 42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour
- 36:22your Lord does come. So there are two different
- 36:25events being ascribed to this. You have the rapture of the
- 36:32Church, which some could mark as the first coming of His second
- 36:39Advent, where He meets us in the clouds.
- 36:43And then at the end of the tribulation He comes back in
- 36:48glory, which is the reason that we will not be raptured at the
- 36:54end of the tribulation, just to come immediately right back to
- 36:58Him. He will keep us from the hour
- 37:01that is coming to test all the inhabitants of the world.
- 37:06Friends. 43 But know this, that if the good man of the house had
- 37:12known and what watch the thief would come, he would have
- 37:17watched and would not have suffered his house to be broken
- 37:21up. So there's a lot of nations that
- 37:25are raging and they're plotting in vain, and they're thinking
- 37:29that they can keep Christ from coming.
- 37:32And this has been the intent of Satan since the garden, when God
- 37:40told him that his head would be crushed.
- 37:42And you can see that we will be able to see the signs of the
- 37:47times, and we will be able to see the leaves on the fig tree.
- 37:51And we will be able to see that our redemption is near.
- 37:54But we will not be able to fix a date.
- 37:58Do not ever go with anyone down any hallway or corridor.
- 38:04Do not ever go down any thought processes with someone who tries
- 38:09to fix a date. There have been many cults that
- 38:12have been started because people were duped into believing of all
- 38:17these people that are setting dates.
- 38:20Do not believe it, do not even go near the door.
- 38:25Do not even go close to those people for they are dangerous
- 38:29people. He tells us in 44.
- 38:33Therefore you be also ready for in such an hour as you think not
- 38:41the Son of man comes so he's telling us to not grow lazy
- 38:46friends. He's telling us to burn bright.
- 38:48He's telling us to fill our lamps to be filled with the Holy
- 38:53Spirit is how we're going to make it there.
- 38:55Friends 45 who then is a faithful and wise servant whom
- 39:05his Lord has made ruler over his household to give them meat in
- 39:10due season. He asked Peter, do you love me
- 39:13three times Peter says yes, three times He says, you know
- 39:16that I love you and what did he tell Peter?
- 39:18He told Peter the same thing that he tells you friend, feed
- 39:23my sheep. We should not just be stingy
- 39:32with the word of God. We must feed his sheep. 46
- 39:39Blessed is that servant whom his Lord, when he comes, shall find.
- 39:44So doing we are called to evangelize, we are called to be
- 39:49found. Doing the Lord's work, we're
- 39:52called to be found. With our hand to the plow we are
- 39:57called to be found. Serving the King of kings and
- 40:01the Lord of Lords 47 Truly I say unto you that he shall make him
- 40:06ruler over all his goods, The Lord.
- 40:12When we come back with him, the Lord is going to give us
- 40:18different responsibilities, Friends. 48 But, and if that
- 40:26evil servant shall say in his heart, my Lord, the lace is
- 40:30coming, these are those that have fallen asleep.
- 40:33These are those that are not filled with the spirit friends.
- 40:37They're not filled with the Holy Ghost.
- 40:39They have become lazy, they have become despondent.
- 40:43They have become detached from the second coming of our Lord.
- 40:48They think that his delay means that he's never going to come.
- 40:54And they hope that everything is just going to get better.
- 40:57And they have be. They've made themselves fat and
- 41:00they have made themselves rich. And they are not actually
- 41:07wishing and waiting upon the Lord.
- 41:10They're not crying out, Maranatha.
- 41:13They're not crying out as the spirit and the bride does
- 41:17saying, come Lord, they are just as content with him tarrying
- 41:22because it means that they have more time for pleasure and
- 41:26pleasantries on this on this earth. 49 and shall begin to
- 41:33strike his fellow servants and to eat and drink with the drunk.
- 41:38So 49 you can see that there is an abuse within the realm of the
- 41:45faith. You can see that they had once
- 41:49tasted and seen that the Lord was good.
- 41:51They had tasted and seen of the goodness and of the Holy Spirit,
- 41:56and they have fallen away. This is the apostate church.
- 42:01They're drinking and eating and beating their fellow servants.
- 42:0850 The Lord of that servant shall come in a day when he
- 42:12looks not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of.
- 42:16What a word for us today. We can see the signs and we can
- 42:20see the times, but we should not grow lazy.
- 42:25We should not just think that everything is going to keep
- 42:27going as it always has been. We need to watch and wait,
- 42:31friends. And he's saying that we will not
- 42:35be aware of the exact day of the exact time.
- 42:40I can't say it enough. Beware of anyone who sets a
- 42:45date. We'll end on 51 and shall cut
- 42:51him asunder and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites.
- 42:55And there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
- 42:57We know that this weeping and gnashing of teeth is reserved
- 43:01for those who refuse Jesus Christ.
- 43:05And maybe they at one point in their life they were going along
- 43:10with Him just so long as everything was fine and dandy.
- 43:15But then hard times came, and perhaps they grew rich on the
- 43:20things in this world, and they grew distant from Him, and they
- 43:25never truly knew Him. And Jesus is saying that just
- 43:29because they have suit and ties does not mean that they are
- 43:32righteous just because they come in the facade of looking like
- 43:40one of his ministers. They are ravenous wolves, and we
- 43:44must be aware of them and their lot and their place is in
- 43:49eternal damnation. What a chapter here, this Olivet
- 43:55discourse. We could spend a whole lifetime
- 44:01debating eschatology and we need to just read His Word.
- 44:09We need to obey His word. We need to allow the Holy Spirit
- 44:15to guide us. We need to allow the Holy Spirit
- 44:18to be our teacher. Friends, we would do well to sit
- 44:22and meditate upon these scriptures and ask the Lord to
- 44:26reveal what it is that He's saying to us.
- 44:32Hope you've been blessed by this chapter here and Matthew.
- 44:38I know I sure have. I sure have been many times.
- 44:44This is encouragement for the consecrated.
- 44:49This is not entertainment for the curious.
- 44:54What a beautiful chapter. I love you, I'm praying for you.
- 45:04We'll see you back here tomorrow.
- 45:06God bless you.
