Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Prom season upon us here, and I look back to
- 0:05Speaker 1: my prom in two thousand and nine. What a great
- 0:08Speaker 1: year it was, And this would have been the most
- 0:10Speaker 1: popular prom song of that year.
- 0:18Speaker 2: The Night's gonna be now vibe. It's not horrible.
- 0:25Speaker 1: I mean there's way worse like prom songs. I think
- 0:29Speaker 1: I think that I'm just jealous of what yours is.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Oh yeah, because I'm older than you.
- 0:34Speaker 4: So mine was in two thousand and five and this
- 0:37Speaker 4: classic was the most popular.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Yeah, this is an absolute banger.
- 0:41Speaker 1: And you almost kind of forget sometimes about how many
- 0:43Speaker 1: just bangers this lady has. This is incredible, What a
- 0:46Speaker 1: great prom song?
- 0:52Speaker 3: Because I don't.
- 0:55Speaker 1: If you're riding in the car right now or you're
- 0:57Speaker 1: at work and you just got to throw back to
- 0:59Speaker 1: your high school prom?
- 1:02Speaker 2: So did Angie?
- 1:03Speaker 4: Yeah, and you should start a retinol routine because I did.
- 1:08Speaker 1: It is kind of sad, you know, you look back
- 1:10Speaker 1: to prom and then you look in the mirror all
- 1:11Speaker 1: these years later, I'm like, wow, I got gray hair,
- 1:14Speaker 1: very hurt? You really do I do?
- 1:16Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:17Speaker 1: Seven oh one two, eight zero one, eight to seven.
- 1:20Speaker 1: What was the most popular song at your prom? And
- 1:23Speaker 1: we do have this up on Facebook and some just
- 1:26Speaker 1: classic sit in here we have got from Jeremy.
- 1:30Speaker 2: This is wonderful.
- 1:36Speaker 1: And if your hands didn't immediately jump out and start
- 1:40Speaker 1: folding over when this song came on.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Then you have no joy in you.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Get some soul a little bit.
- 1:46Speaker 1: We also have this absolute classic. And when this song
- 1:50Speaker 1: was out, I don't remember if I really loved it
- 1:53Speaker 1: all that much, But this one's for Cassandra here today,
- 1:57Speaker 1: this guy actually from Minnesota.
- 2:00Speaker 5: Do you not.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Believe your eyes?
- 2:02Speaker 5: If ten million fireflies the fellows sleep.
- 2:08Speaker 2: He's going back to that gymnasium, right, Yes, when.
- 2:11Speaker 4: That song came on, surely everyone just wanted to be
- 2:15Speaker 4: kumba yyeing together on the dance floor at prom.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Yeah, cause I remember this song coming out and just
- 2:21Speaker 1: not being the biggest fan. It just wasn't my kind
- 2:24Speaker 1: of jam at the time. And now I look back
- 2:27Speaker 1: and hear it. This song is a banger.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it really was.
- 2:31Speaker 1: He did something right there that was Fireflies from Owl City.
- 2:35Speaker 1: And then finally, anybody in any part of the two thousands,
- 2:39Speaker 1: if we haven't got you back to that gymnasium. You're
- 2:42Speaker 1: wearing your corsage and that blue or pink or whatever
- 2:45Speaker 1: dress you had on or your bow tie and your suit.
- 2:48Speaker 1: This one will do it for you. This one is
- 2:50Speaker 1: for Megan, Angie.
- 3:00Speaker 2: This is a family friendly show. What are you doing
- 3:02Speaker 2: in here?
- 3:02Speaker 3: That's why this is radio.
- 3:03Speaker 2: You can't see me in Angie's in here? Uh? Can
- 3:08Speaker 2: we say torks in here? Instantly went into TWRK mode.
- 3:14Speaker 3: I had to. I'm gonna feel that in the morning.
- 3:16Speaker 6: Though, celebrating life's little victories every morning we practice gratitude
- 3:25Speaker 6: on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 3:27Speaker 1: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 3:29Speaker 1: basket job busted out when it was someone's acting hard.
- 3:32Speaker 6: Sure your little victories with us at seven oh one
- 3:35Speaker 6: two and oh one ninety eight.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Seven, kids. I also needed to win that day, Angie.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Did you need a win yesterday? What's your little victory
- 3:44Speaker 2: to day?
- 3:44Speaker 3: I did, and I got one.
- 3:47Speaker 4: So my new thing is that I really want to
- 3:49Speaker 4: focus on my sleep hygiene, like getting enough sleep, and
- 3:53Speaker 4: not just enough.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Sleep, but like really good sleep.
- 3:56Speaker 4: And so yesterday I went to bed even earlier than
- 4:01Speaker 4: I already do, and I did wake up once in
- 4:04Speaker 4: the middle of the night, which I didn't love.
- 4:06Speaker 3: But when all I said and done, I.
- 4:07Speaker 4: Got seven hours and fifty seven minutes of sleep, which.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Is unheard of.
- 4:13Speaker 4: I'm usually at the seven good Yeah, I'm usually at
- 4:15Speaker 4: the seven hour range when it's a weekday, and so
- 4:19Speaker 4: the fact that I was just shy of eight hours
- 4:21Speaker 4: is magical.
- 4:22Speaker 3: So I bid or be on top of my game
- 4:24Speaker 3: with all this rest.
- 4:25Speaker 2: That I got. So what time did? What's the new bedtime?
- 4:29Speaker 3: So six forty pm PM? Yeah?
- 4:35Speaker 2: Wow, a fifty last night.
- 4:39Speaker 3: You are a wild boy.
- 4:41Speaker 1: That's good for you, though, six forty net it I
- 4:45Speaker 1: feel like I'm missing something if I went to bed
- 4:47Speaker 1: that early.
- 4:47Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I had to get over the fomo real Yeah,
- 4:50Speaker 4: I'd have to retrain my brain.
- 4:53Speaker 1: All right, Well, my little victory. Yesterday our internet was
- 4:56Speaker 1: out for whatever reason. But we found out what the
- 4:59Speaker 1: problem was some and stopped on over got it fixed
- 5:01Speaker 1: pretty quick in about twenty minutes. But when I got
- 5:04Speaker 1: home in the afternoon, no internet, all right, that means
- 5:06Speaker 1: no TV. Couldn't watch anything. I guess I could play
- 5:09Speaker 1: on my phone, but obviously couldn't like really go on
- 5:12Speaker 1: the computer.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Couldn't do anything.
- 5:13Speaker 1: The weather wasn't the best, so it's not like I
- 5:15Speaker 1: could really hang out with Winona outside all day or whatever.
- 5:18Speaker 1: So I sat down and I had not done this
- 5:22Speaker 1: probably in like a year or two, but I sat
- 5:24Speaker 1: I played guitar for over an hour yesterday.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, and I have not done that in
- 5:30Speaker 2: so long.
- 5:31Speaker 1: And you know what, Angie, my fingers kind of hurt
- 5:33Speaker 1: this morning, and you got to build up those guitar
- 5:35Speaker 1: fis calls. Yeah, and I'll tell you what I feel like.
- 5:39Speaker 1: I got guitar fingers today, that's for sure. But it's
- 5:42Speaker 1: a good it's a good. I don't know, I kind
- 5:44Speaker 1: of burn.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I like that.
- 5:45Speaker 4: As long as you don't start playing Santa Ria, you're
- 5:49Speaker 4: in good shape.
- 5:50Speaker 2: The next time I roll over.
- 5:51Speaker 1: You are getting the dopest version of wonder Wall I've
- 5:54Speaker 1: ever played. And there is something maybe you have noticed,
- 6:00Speaker 1: or maybe you haven't, I don't know. On the Big
- 6:02Speaker 1: ninety eight point seven Morning Show, I don't even know
- 6:04Speaker 1: what these are called. I call them phrases or sayings,
- 6:07Speaker 1: but they're called expressions.
- 6:09Speaker 3: And you even got that run yeah, and impressions.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Yeah, for whatever reason, I know them, but I don't
- 6:17Speaker 1: know them at all.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Yeah, you're always just kind of off, I'm colling. Yeah, well,
- 6:22Speaker 4: and that's why.
- 6:23Speaker 5: You have me.
- 6:23Speaker 4: I usually swoop in and correct you so that whatever
- 6:28Speaker 4: it is you're saying makes actual sense.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Well, that that hurt my feelings.
- 6:33Speaker 3: What this is, This is a partnership.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Okay.
- 6:38Speaker 1: What we have for you this morning is my goal
- 6:41Speaker 1: is to get an expression right. And I found some
- 6:44Speaker 1: expressions that I want to know if you've heard before, okay,
- 6:47Speaker 1: and probably right, I don't know, but my goal is
- 6:51Speaker 1: to get one of these correct at some point by tomorrow.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Okay, right here on big ninety eight point.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Seven, So by six forty two tomorrow morning, your boy
- 7:01Speaker 1: is going to get one of these right.
- 7:03Speaker 2: All right?
- 7:03Speaker 1: Have you ever heard this expression? Meet the tree? You
- 7:08Speaker 1: understand the apple? I guess that's similar to the apple
- 7:12Speaker 1: doesn't fall far from the tree.
- 7:13Speaker 2: I've never heard of that.
- 7:14Speaker 3: I've never heard him.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I guess that's an expression. Okay, what about
- 7:19Speaker 1: Andrew would say this about me?
- 7:20Speaker 2: All right? One fry short of a happy meal.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Oh I like that.
- 7:23Speaker 1: That one's good. I think that's kind of cute. All right,
- 7:26Speaker 1: I have two more for you. And this is something
- 7:28Speaker 1: I grew up hearing my entire life. That shot will
- 7:31Speaker 1: put hair on your chest. Yeah, yeah, that one I
- 7:34Speaker 1: think most people have heard and then here's another one
- 7:37Speaker 1: that I'd never heard before.
- 7:39Speaker 2: But as useless as a chocolate teapot.
- 7:43Speaker 3: That's so good. I love that. That's real good.
- 7:45Speaker 4: And by the way, the only reason that he got
- 7:48Speaker 4: these correct is because he's literally reading.
- 7:51Speaker 2: That them written down here.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Yeah, so your.
- 7:53Speaker 4: Goal tomorrow is to use one of these in context, yep,
- 7:58Speaker 4: and say it.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Correctly, say it correct and get it correctly.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Which one are you gonna use?
- 8:03Speaker 1: I haven't fully decided yet, but one fry short of
- 8:07Speaker 1: a happy meal is pretty easy to remember.
- 8:09Speaker 2: I like that one.
- 8:10Speaker 1: But as useless as a chocolate teapot is great.
- 8:13Speaker 3: I really love that one.
- 8:14Speaker 4: And I'm going to incorporate that into my vernacular for sure.
- 8:17Speaker 1: All right, So that by six forty one tomorrow is
- 8:20Speaker 1: my goal. So at some point, if you hear me
- 8:23Speaker 1: use one of these phrases, keep.
- 8:27Speaker 3: Me on my uh, keep them accountable, bro, Do you
- 8:31Speaker 3: just not know where you.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Keep me accountable? We're gonna try to get it exactly
- 8:36Speaker 1: right by tomorrow.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Do sound sound now here? On Big ninety eight point seven.
- 8:47Speaker 1: When I talk about my pet, I often talk about
- 8:49Speaker 1: my dog was who I spend the most time with.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Winona. You have a favorite.
- 8:55Speaker 2: One thousand percent.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I just I get to spend kind of more
- 9:00Speaker 1: or fun doing fun things with her. I guess I
- 9:03Speaker 1: get to spend more time having fun with her just
- 9:05Speaker 1: because she can go for walks and play fetch. We
- 9:07Speaker 1: do have a cat stroller.
- 9:10Speaker 3: That's my favorite thing that.
- 9:12Speaker 1: My mother in law gave Corey and I once, and
- 9:14Speaker 1: we have taken the cats for a walk before in
- 9:16Speaker 1: that stroller. But I am not talking about Winona this morning.
- 9:21Speaker 1: For the most I'd say I'd call it annoying. Some
- 9:24Speaker 1: people would call it cool. What is the what is
- 9:27Speaker 1: the weirdest, coolest thing that your pet has taught itself
- 9:31Speaker 1: or learned how to do? Seven oh one two eight
- 9:33Speaker 1: zero one nine eight seven. In the back of my
- 9:36Speaker 1: house there is a sliding glass door, and on the
- 9:39Speaker 1: other side of that a screen door. Okay, and when
- 9:42Speaker 1: it's nice out, open up the glass door, shut the
- 9:45Speaker 1: screen door, and boom, nice air in the house. Right. Yes, Well,
- 9:48Speaker 1: we now have to lock the screen door. I can't
- 9:51Speaker 1: just kind of slide it shut and lazily close it.
- 9:55Speaker 2: We actually have to make sure it's like latched in there.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Because we have a cat named Pam who has learned
- 10:01Speaker 1: how to pry the back screen door open to get outside.
- 10:05Speaker 2: I love her.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Pam is one of those cats who, in her brain
- 10:09Speaker 1: she thinks she's destined to be this outdoor adventurer and
- 10:14Speaker 1: she would not make it more than eighteen.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Minutes outside alive at all and.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Now trying to hold her backround dream baby.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Oh, we really are and it's just now a weird
- 10:26Speaker 1: minor inconvenience. Obviously, it's not that hard to make sure
- 10:29Speaker 1: the door is shut, but it is something we have
- 10:32Speaker 1: to do.
- 10:32Speaker 2: In the past two weeks, I'm not kidding you.
- 10:34Speaker 1: I'd say probably twelve out of the fourteen days I've
- 10:38Speaker 1: had to run outside to prevent Pam from running around
- 10:42Speaker 1: the corner and exploring the backyard on a great adventure.
- 10:44Speaker 2: It's like a Disney movie.
- 10:46Speaker 1: It's like Bell from Beauty and the Beast just wants
- 10:49Speaker 1: to go out and explore.
- 10:50Speaker 3: You know, she wants in the great wide somewhere. Gabe,
- 10:55Speaker 3: can you do me a favorite?
- 10:57Speaker 4: Now that you know that she does this, can you
- 11:00Speaker 4: try to catch her in action?
- 11:02Speaker 3: Like can you leave this on purpose? And then I
- 11:06Speaker 3: want video of this?
- 11:07Speaker 1: I can one thousand percent do that because you can
- 11:09Speaker 1: always sort of see it coming yeah.
- 11:12Speaker 2: But she thinks she's real sneaky and once in a while.
- 11:15Speaker 1: I'll let her make it to the back patio, yeah,
- 11:19Speaker 1: to just let her get a little taste, and then
- 11:23Speaker 1: I'll go track her down. But it obviously it's not
- 11:26Speaker 1: that big of a deal, but it is a minor inconvenience.
- 11:28Speaker 1: It's like, oh God, I gotta make sure this door
- 11:30Speaker 1: is shut because Pam knows how to open it.
- 11:32Speaker 3: I love that. Pam is my new favorite pet of yours. Sorry, Winona, Pam.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Is the one seven oh one two eight zero one
- 11:40Speaker 1: nine eight seven. Does your pet know how to do
- 11:43Speaker 1: some kind of cool trick? Maybe it's something annoying, whatever
- 11:47Speaker 1: the case is, we want to hear from you this morning,
- 11:49Speaker 1: because yeah, I never thought when we tracked down Pam
- 11:52Speaker 1: when she was just a young and by we I
- 11:54Speaker 1: mean my wife, that opening doors was going to be
- 11:57Speaker 1: part of her her skill set, all right. That didn't
- 11:59Speaker 1: come up the instructions when we got her, Chris, what
- 12:03Speaker 1: does your animal learn how to do?
- 12:04Speaker 2: Man?
- 12:04Speaker 5: My dog rings a little bell at the back door
- 12:06Speaker 5: when he needs to go outside.
- 12:08Speaker 6: You know, my daughter thought aim how to do that, and.
- 12:11Speaker 1: I do like that that is cool, smart until they're
- 12:14Speaker 1: dinging the bell every three minutes because they want to
- 12:16Speaker 1: go outside and play or eat a stick or whatever.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I tried that actually with Winona when she was younger,
- 12:22Speaker 1: a little bell to go to go potty, But she
- 12:24Speaker 1: would just ring the thing constantly because she wanted to
- 12:27Speaker 1: go outside and mess around.
- 12:28Speaker 3: How do you know she didn't just have bladder.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Roads, She might have Tiffany, What about you?
- 12:34Speaker 6: My cat knows how to open.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Doors, not like clawing at it.
- 12:37Speaker 2: No, she jumps up, she hands on the handle and
- 12:40Speaker 2: then just lets her body weight through the work. I
- 12:42Speaker 2: have zero privacy now, like none.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll be I have it easy now. I don't
- 12:47Speaker 1: have a cat who can do that? Open doors by
- 12:49Speaker 1: the handle?
- 12:50Speaker 3: Yeah? Do you is yours a house with handles or
- 12:53Speaker 3: door knobs?
- 12:54Speaker 2: We have door knobs?
- 12:55Speaker 3: Son, Okay, so I think she's gotta switch all her
- 12:59Speaker 3: hand come on.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 13:01Speaker 1: Seven oh one two, eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Is there a cool trick? Or maybe you even find
- 13:06Speaker 1: it annoying? But is there something your pet taught themselves
- 13:09Speaker 1: to do? Let us know This morning here on Big
- 13:11Speaker 1: ninety eight point seven.
- 13:15Speaker 6: In the World of Rules in Gray Areas, one morning
- 13:17Speaker 6: show dares to ask the hard questions.
- 13:19Speaker 2: We both know you're guilty.
- 13:21Speaker 3: He's guilty.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Is it legal?
- 13:23Speaker 5: You're guilty of the worst crime of all.
- 13:26Speaker 6: On Big ninety eight point seven.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Well, here might be proof that I have the world's
- 13:33Speaker 1: most ridiculous Google searches of all time.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Oh gosh, what did you know?
- 13:38Speaker 1: There's an animal that is illegal to talk to? At
- 13:41Speaker 1: least kind of. There is a real law called the
- 13:45Speaker 1: Marine Mammal Protection Act, and it says you can't talk
- 13:51Speaker 1: to dolphins.
- 13:52Speaker 6: What.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Yeah, you cannot talk to dolphins in the wild kind.
- 13:57Speaker 4: Of Okay, please explain, because I know people are gonna
- 14:00Speaker 4: be going on vacations and a lot of times people
- 14:03Speaker 4: are so excited to swim with dolphins, but you can't.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Talk to them.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Yeah, well, technically those dolphins aren't the wild. Oh that's right, okay, Okay,
- 14:11Speaker 1: So if you're on vacation, you know, you're in Florida,
- 14:14Speaker 1: you're down in Tampa Orlando, and you're walking along the
- 14:17Speaker 1: ocean and you see flip or you can probably say hey, dude,
- 14:21Speaker 1: big fan, and you'd be all right, okay, But if
- 14:24Speaker 1: you start whistling at them or try to have conversations
- 14:28Speaker 1: or even swimming out and trying to be Hey, dude,
- 14:31Speaker 1: tell me the secrets of the ocean.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Yeah, that would not work out.
- 14:35Speaker 1: You're breaking the law because apparently dolphins they don't want
- 14:37Speaker 1: small talk, and honestly say.
- 14:39Speaker 4: That is true, Like they're vicious kind of dolphins are.
- 14:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:44Speaker 1: The rule about not messing with the rule is you
- 14:48Speaker 1: can't mess with their behavior, all right, so they don't
- 14:50Speaker 1: start relying on humans, whether it's like for food.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Or gathering where we gather in the.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Water, which I think is fair because if dolphins actually
- 15:00Speaker 1: ever figured us out, we'd be in big trouble.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Dolphins are no joke.
- 15:05Speaker 1: So you can say hi, all right, but don't interact
- 15:09Speaker 1: or feed with dolphins in the wild. I bet you
- 15:12Speaker 1: didn't know that this morning. I'll tell you why I
- 15:14Speaker 1: had never heard of anything like this till my wizardry
- 15:17Speaker 1: on the old Google machine, who googles, can you talk
- 15:20Speaker 1: to dolphins? Only Gabe, only me? Fifty two is on
- 15:29Speaker 1: the way, I mean this afternoon. It's not fifty two
- 15:31Speaker 1: right this second.
- 15:31Speaker 3: That's fine. The thing is out for now.
- 15:34Speaker 2: That's right now.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Michael Jackson's bio pick has done very very well in theaters.
- 15:39Speaker 1: I think it's doing better than what they originally expected.
- 15:43Speaker 4: Right, yeah, because it wasn't doing great Unrotten Tomatoes. I
- 15:46Speaker 4: think the last time I checked, it had like a
- 15:47Speaker 4: twenty three percent, and that sometimes means like, oh, no,
- 15:51Speaker 4: one's gonna see this movie. But it did open ninety
- 15:53Speaker 4: seven point two million dollars opening weekend domestically, and then
- 15:57Speaker 4: two hundred and eighteen point seven million globully, So even
- 16:01Speaker 4: if it's not a critical success, they're making money.
- 16:05Speaker 3: And isn't that the point right exactly?
- 16:07Speaker 1: And I think we see I swear, like two to
- 16:10Speaker 1: three of these types of movies every year.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Okay.
- 16:14Speaker 1: They had the Bob Dylan movie and then the Bruce
- 16:17Speaker 1: Springsteen movie in twenty twenty five. I'm sure there's another
- 16:20Speaker 1: one in the mix. Now early twenty twenty six we
- 16:22Speaker 1: have the Michael Jackson movie. These biopicks have gotten really popular.
- 16:26Speaker 3: There was an Elvis one now know.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think we have a Rommy Mallick to
- 16:31Speaker 1: blame after winning an Oscar for playing Freddie Mercury.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Now everyone's trying to get it of the mix.
- 16:37Speaker 4: Well, I mean and even early days because my favorite
- 16:39Speaker 4: biopic is uh Johnny.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Cash, oh sure a while line, yeah, yeah, And I think.
- 16:45Speaker 4: Joaquin Phoenix got an Oscar for that too. Honestly, it's
- 16:49Speaker 4: usually if the right actor is cast in a biopick,
- 16:53Speaker 4: they are at least going to get Oscar nominated.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Yeah, Timothy Shallamy for Bob Dylan, Yeah, received a bunch
- 16:58Speaker 1: of buzz for that. He probably and won some of
- 17:00Speaker 1: the not Oscar Awards. Yeah, yeah, I call them. And
- 17:04Speaker 1: we were talking about this yesterday, and this is a
- 17:06Speaker 1: great question for you here today. Who do you think
- 17:09Speaker 1: deserves who should get What should the next bio pick
- 17:13Speaker 1: movie be? And it doesn't necessarily have to be a musician.
- 17:16Speaker 1: I mean that's mostly what they are, but yeah, you
- 17:18Speaker 1: think you know, if Johnny Depp got a biopic one day,
- 17:20Speaker 1: I wouldn't be shocked.
- 17:22Speaker 2: That guy's had a crazy life.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Yeah, so let us know seven oh one two eight
- 17:27Speaker 1: zero one nine eight seven. Angie and I have picked
- 17:29Speaker 1: who we think would be pretty good or would be
- 17:31Speaker 1: a cool movie to watch for an artist. Angie, who
- 17:35Speaker 1: would you go with first?
- 17:37Speaker 3: I think we gotta go with Dolly Parton.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that'd be great.
- 17:42Speaker 4: Dolly Parton, because well, the other thing is she's still alive,
- 17:46Speaker 4: and so I like when the person who's still alive
- 17:50Speaker 4: can be part of the process, sure, so that they
- 17:53Speaker 4: can help you get details right.
- 17:55Speaker 3: I think it's very difficult.
- 17:57Speaker 4: To emulate Dolly Parton, so there would have to be
- 18:00Speaker 4: extensive casting. But I think Dolly Parton is a treasure,
- 18:04Speaker 4: a national treasure.
- 18:05Speaker 3: She's not problematic. I think it would be really great
- 18:08Speaker 3: to see a biopic of her.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I know a lot of people, especially in Minnesota,
- 18:13Speaker 1: would love to see one of Prince.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Oh.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Yeah, biopic would be pretty interesting.
- 18:20Speaker 3: Who would even play Prince? It would have to be
- 18:22Speaker 3: an unknown I.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Think, Yeah, I actually kind of like that.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I'd like that someone maybe not as popular gets
- 18:29Speaker 1: a chance to really star in a role like that.
- 18:31Speaker 1: I think Prince would be wonderful. I even talked to
- 18:33Speaker 1: you yesterday a little bit. But Kurt Cobain I think
- 18:36Speaker 1: would be kind of interesting. Yeah, there's a gajillion Nirvana
- 18:40Speaker 1: movies and Gagill. There's this horrible Kurt Cobain movie called
- 18:44Speaker 1: Last Days where it's like kind of loosely based on
- 18:47Speaker 1: the last handful day a handful of days of his life.
- 18:50Speaker 1: But Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, I think would be pretty
- 18:52Speaker 1: interesting just to see how how he grew up and
- 18:56Speaker 1: you know, in a small town in Washington and going
- 18:59Speaker 1: on to being essentially one of the biggest pop stars
- 19:02Speaker 1: on the planet. I played grunge kind of style music,
- 19:05Speaker 1: but he was a pop star.
- 19:07Speaker 4: See but that ends in like a sad death, and
- 19:11Speaker 4: that's the kind of biopic I don't love. So I
- 19:13Speaker 4: think I would pick Share as my next Okay, a
- 19:17Speaker 4: biopick of Share. I mean, she's iconic too. I just
- 19:20Speaker 4: love seeing iconic women. I think that's my vibe.
- 19:24Speaker 2: What about and this was my last one here?
- 19:26Speaker 1: I know we have eight Mile, but that is a movie, right,
- 19:31Speaker 1: It's not really a biopic of his life.
- 19:33Speaker 3: It's got Eminem.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Yeah, Eminem.
- 19:35Speaker 1: I think would be kind of interesting to see a
- 19:38Speaker 1: lot more of his like childhood in eight Mile and
- 19:40Speaker 1: once yeah, mostly based on his It.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Was lessly based on his life.
- 19:43Speaker 4: But if it was an actual biopick, I think that
- 19:45Speaker 4: would be really fascinating. I would like to put myself
- 19:49Speaker 4: in contention to play Eminem in the biopic. I strangely
- 19:55Speaker 4: when I dress and drag look like Eminem, So if
- 19:58Speaker 4: he ever has that happened, I think I would try
- 20:02Speaker 4: to be cast as the lead.
- 20:05Speaker 1: And Darien went with kind of a different vibe, he
- 20:08Speaker 1: said Heath Ledger.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Oh, be kind of interesting that.
- 20:12Speaker 4: I feel like should be in the works sooner than later.
- 20:16Speaker 1: A movie about someone who makes movies. Yeah, it'd be
- 20:20Speaker 1: very interesting. It's almost like a little inception right here.
- 20:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:22Speaker 4: I feel it would be really heartbreaking though, but that
- 20:25Speaker 4: would be a good one.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one, nine eight seven.
- 20:29Speaker 1: With the popularity of these types of movies probably only
- 20:32Speaker 1: increasing for the foreseeable future, who would you like to
- 20:36Speaker 1: see a movie about their life? Let us know here
- 20:39Speaker 1: this morning on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 20:43Speaker 4: If there's one thing about my boyfriend Mike is that
- 20:46Speaker 4: he is incredibly kind and polite. He is way nicer
- 20:50Speaker 4: than I am, and I think I'm a nice person,
- 20:52Speaker 4: but he's just such a gentle, kind soul. But I
- 20:55Speaker 4: feel like it's biting him in the butt, his desire
- 20:59Speaker 4: to be polite, making him look ridiculous. And this came
- 21:04Speaker 4: to a head yesterday we went to dinner with the boys.
- 21:06Speaker 4: It's Liam's birthday was on Sunday. He turned nine, and
- 21:11Speaker 4: he's decided that he wants to celebrate a whole birthday week.
- 21:13Speaker 3: And who am I to judge?
- 21:15Speaker 4: Because I celebrate my birthday for the entire month, so
- 21:17Speaker 4: part of the thing.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 21:20Speaker 4: So he's like, I want to go out to dinner,
- 21:22Speaker 4: and so we went to Applebee's. We had some gift certificates,
- 21:25Speaker 4: so we went to Applebee's for dinner and the boys
- 21:28Speaker 4: ordered their food and our server asks Mikey what he wants,
- 21:33Speaker 4: and he asked for the riblets. Now those come glazed
- 21:37Speaker 4: in one of three sauces.
- 21:39Speaker 3: And the server.
- 21:40Speaker 4: Asked, would you like honey barbecue, glazed, hot honey glazed,
- 21:47Speaker 4: or spicy Asian chili?
- 21:50Speaker 3: And Mikey looked at him and went ranch.
- 21:56Speaker 4: I started laughing and I said, honey, that's it's not
- 22:00Speaker 4: a glaze. He asked what glaze did you want and
- 22:03Speaker 4: he went, oh, oh, okay, and so the server had
- 22:05Speaker 4: to repeat and then he picked honey barbecue and it
- 22:07Speaker 4: was fine, and the server walked away and I was
- 22:09Speaker 4: dying of laughter, because.
- 22:11Speaker 3: What do you mean? Ranch?
- 22:13Speaker 4: That was not an option, And it was because Mikey
- 22:17Speaker 4: didn't hear the server, but he didn't want to ask
- 22:20Speaker 4: him to repeat.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Himself because he thinks that's impolite.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Sure, and I told.
- 22:25Speaker 3: Him, no, Now you look kind of like an idiot.
- 22:28Speaker 3: He gave you three choices and your.
- 22:30Speaker 4: Response was ranch, which is not one of the choices
- 22:33Speaker 4: at all. You can't, well, I guess you can glaze,
- 22:36Speaker 4: riblets and ram if they wanted.
- 22:38Speaker 1: To, they could Angie, Okay, Well Mikey's Midwest was showing.
- 22:42Speaker 1: I think here he's from Michigan. Yeah, well so Ranch.
- 22:46Speaker 1: I mean, oh, that's the go to ranch is. It's
- 22:50Speaker 1: like liquid gold in the Midwest.
- 22:52Speaker 3: Well, that's the Midwest way we.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Try to mine for that.
- 22:55Speaker 3: Oh, what you're saying is I was wrong.
- 22:59Speaker 2: He was just Yeah, he knew exactly what he is doing.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Not only that, but the the uber politeness to be
- 23:06Speaker 1: too afraid to be Hey, I'm sorry, I didn't hear you.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Can you say that again? We don't do that here.
- 23:11Speaker 1: No, we just guess and hope the answer is right,
- 23:13Speaker 1: because we don't want to inconvenience someone to take six
- 23:16Speaker 1: seconds to repeat three options.
- 23:19Speaker 3: This one Mike's got me. I'll be the rude one.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Then if I have to.
- 23:29Speaker 6: Starting off the day with something good. This is Gabe's
- 23:33Speaker 6: good news on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 23:37Speaker 1: In Fergus Falls, one hometown singer is turning into a
- 23:40Speaker 1: national star as Chris tung Seth, a twenty seven year
- 23:43Speaker 1: old carpenter, is now in the top five on American
- 23:47Speaker 1: Idol and back home, friends and coworkers they're rallying behind him,
- 23:50Speaker 1: watching from living rooms, bars, even job sites. And Chris's
- 23:55Speaker 1: coworkers say he's always been singing on the job and
- 23:58Speaker 1: now the whole town is singing praises. And here's what
- 24:01Speaker 1: Chris's boss, Kurt Frustel and he's also the owner of
- 24:05Speaker 1: Precise Carpentry, had to say about Chris.
- 24:08Speaker 5: Chris is phenomenal. You know, these guys and me to
- 24:13Speaker 5: appoint and him just has such a great sense of humor.
- 24:16Speaker 5: It's the same stupid sense of humor. It's just funny.
- 24:19Speaker 5: But he's a good work But he's a solid guy,
- 24:21Speaker 5: just strong, and you know, he's just a good guy.
- 24:23Speaker 1: From construction and ice cream shop employee to an Idol contender.
- 24:27Speaker 2: The community is all in with.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Cardboard cutouts, watch parties and plenty of votes. Congratulations Chris,
- 24:35Speaker 1: so far from being in the top five. And this
- 24:37Speaker 1: is also this the most Maybe they say this everywhere,
- 24:40Speaker 1: but I have a buddy who knows Chris. My friend
- 24:44Speaker 1: Jake went to school in Fergus falls and like knows
- 24:46Speaker 1: that family.
- 24:48Speaker 2: It's pretty cool.
- 24:49Speaker 1: My buddy Jake, who doesn't watch a ton of American Idols,
- 24:52Speaker 1: has been following along in scheering him on, which is great.
- 24:55Speaker 1: So congratulations to Chris. That's such a cool story and
- 24:58Speaker 1: stories that American idol at its best or really what
- 25:01Speaker 1: bring out.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Yeah, well I hope that he wins.
- 25:04Speaker 4: Also, he's funny, he's a hard worker, and he can sing.
- 25:08Speaker 3: Is he singing? Anybody?
- 25:10Speaker 6: You know?
- 25:11Speaker 1: My favorite quote, if you don't hear it, is broken
- 25:13Speaker 1: Crans still color. And the world is full of nice people.
- 25:16Speaker 1: If you can't find one, you gotta be one.
