- 0:02Speaker 1: Wake your ass up, fool. John Jay and Rich.
- 0:06Speaker 2: What's crackin' like?
- 0:07Speaker 1: And this is the big boss dog, Snoopy Deagle Double Jizzle.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Bang, boom, what you gonna do?
- 0:11Speaker 1: John Jay and Rich. We're not talking about Ren 1010.
- 0:14Speaker 1: We're not talking about Lassie. It's the one and only dog, y'all.
- 0:17Speaker 1: The classiest ass, the big Snoopy Deagle Double Jizzle. In
- 0:20Speaker 1: your face to me and in the place to be.
- 0:22Speaker 1: And you're listening to John Jay and Rich.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Wake your ass up. Today, Rich Barrett is National what?
- 0:28Speaker 2: National Bosses Day. Celebrate your boss or maybe tell us
- 0:33Speaker 2: about the worst thing your boss ever asked you to do.
- 0:35Speaker 2: That wasn't really related to work. It is National Cut
- 0:38Speaker 2: Up Your Credit Card Day, which is a good day
- 0:40Speaker 2: to take care of debt, and National Dictionary Day, which
- 0:44Speaker 2: I like because that's the word for me that is
- 0:46Speaker 2: always hardest to spell. For me, it is always restaurant.
- 0:48Speaker 2: That one is so hard. I can't remember where the
- 0:50Speaker 2: A-U goes, on the front side or the back side.
- 0:52Speaker 2: I'm with you on that, Rich. And congratulations is very
- 0:56Speaker 2: tough for me, too. I just write congrats on everything.
- 0:59Speaker 3: So who has the debate they wanted to bring up?
- 1:02Speaker 2: I want to talk about this thing that I've been
- 1:04Speaker 2: seeing kind of floating around TikTok. And I don't know
- 1:07Speaker 2: if I agree with the people that are coming out
- 1:09Speaker 2: against this new couple, a new dating couple. They're going
- 1:12Speaker 2: on a trip together, right? And the girlfriend is complaining
- 1:18Speaker 2: because her boyfriend got the opportunity to go first class
- 1:25Speaker 2: and upgrade on his flight. Short flight, hour and a
- 1:27Speaker 2: half flight, but first class ticket.
- 1:30Speaker 3: And he took it.
- 1:31Speaker 2: And he left her in coach. They both bought coach tickets,
- 1:35Speaker 2: but he got the free upgrade. And she's saying if
- 1:39Speaker 2: he's any kind of boyfriend at all, he would have either, A,
- 1:42Speaker 2: just said, no thanks, I want to ride next to
- 1:45Speaker 2: my girlfriend. Or she would have preferred that he gave
- 1:49Speaker 2: up his first class ticket for her to sit in
- 1:52Speaker 2: first class. And she said he has no chivalry. He
- 1:55Speaker 2: ended up taking the first class ticket for himself.
- 1:57Speaker 4: Yeah, and I saw this story too, Rich, and at
- 2:00Speaker 4: first I was like, What a crappy situation to be in, right?
- 2:05Speaker 4: Because obviously you want to take advantage of the free
- 2:08Speaker 4: first class. But in my mind, I'm like, okay, how
- 2:10Speaker 4: long is this flight? Because if it's from Arizona, it
- 2:13Speaker 4: was an hour and a half.
- 2:14Speaker 3: I would be like, let's switch halfway through.
- 2:17Speaker 2: We can both get a little bit of it. But
- 2:19Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 2:20Speaker 4: I think that we needed a lot more information because
- 2:22Speaker 4: I feel like the story also started to develop that
- 2:25Speaker 4: the boyfriend hasn't necessarily been like holding up his part
- 2:29Speaker 4: of the relationship financially.
- 2:30Speaker 3: So there's other issues.
- 2:31Speaker 4: So there was like other things that were kind of
- 2:34Speaker 4: underlying it. And she's like, I've been paying rent for
- 2:36Speaker 4: the last four months and you're taking the first class upgrade.
- 2:40Speaker 5: Because I like that this actually happened to me two
- 2:44Speaker 5: weeks ago. So Blake and I are on a flight,
- 2:46Speaker 5: a four-hour flight in coach. And the flight attendant comes
- 2:50Speaker 5: over to my seat and says, I've been upgraded to
- 2:52Speaker 5: first class. Now, before you get on the flight, there's
- 2:55Speaker 5: this list that should have people's names on it. And
- 2:57Speaker 5: Blake was like, oh, look, my name is on the list.
- 2:59Speaker 5: He said, Blake V. My name is on the list
- 3:01Speaker 5: to get upgraded. I was like, oh, and then I
- 3:02Speaker 5: saw my name on the list too. And I was like,
- 3:03Speaker 5: all right, but I didn't say anything. So flight attendant
- 3:06Speaker 5: comes over and says, hey, Mr. Van Ness, you've been
- 3:08Speaker 5: upgraded to first class. So before I tell you what happened,
- 3:12Speaker 5: I think there's other things you got to look at
- 3:14Speaker 5: our flight. I can sit in the middle seat and
- 3:16Speaker 5: the crap.
- 3:16Speaker 3: It doesn't matter.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Okay. Hour and a half, but I'm just telling.
- 3:19Speaker 5: You, if I was flying from here to Vegas, here
- 3:21Speaker 5: to San Diego, here to LA, it's an hour flight.
- 3:23Speaker 5: I have no problems in the middle seat, no matter what, uh,
- 3:26Speaker 5: four hour flight, different ball game. We've got to have
- 3:28Speaker 5: a conversation because my back hurts, my whatever hurts. I
- 3:31Speaker 5: sit in these uncomfortable seats. So as soon as she
- 3:33Speaker 5: said that the flight attendants to me, I looked at
- 3:35Speaker 5: my wife and I said, can I give it to her?
- 3:37Speaker 3: And you don't find it. I said, no, no, Why?
- 3:40Speaker 3: I don't know. Maybe there's somebody after me that gets
- 3:42Speaker 3: upgraded if I pass, right?
- 3:44Speaker 2: Oh, that's surprising. Seems like it would be your seat
- 3:47Speaker 2: at that point.
- 3:48Speaker 5: But I didn't pay for it. They're just upgrading me.
- 3:51Speaker 5: So I said, I go, can I give it to
- 3:52Speaker 5: my wife? And my wife says, the lady says no.
- 3:54Speaker 5: Flight attendant says no to me. As my wife says,
- 3:57Speaker 5: you take it. You need to have leg room. You
- 4:00Speaker 5: need to make sure your back doesn't hurt. And so
- 4:02Speaker 5: then I was like, it's a spur of the, you know,
- 4:04Speaker 5: the flight's getting ready to take off, right?
- 4:06Speaker 3: So it's like, you got to make it. And everybody's staring, right? Right.
- 4:09Speaker 3: And then I like, so it's okay if I take it.
- 4:11Speaker 3: And she goes, yeah, you take it. It's a far flight.
- 4:13Speaker 3: So boom, I went up there and freaking, it's a
- 4:16Speaker 3: whole other ball game.
- 4:17Speaker 2: It's kind of nice.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Cheese tray.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Glass, water in the glass.
- 4:21Speaker 4: So halfway through, it didn't like dawn on you and
- 4:23Speaker 4: be like, oh man.
- 4:25Speaker 2: I feel pretty bad.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Okay.
- 4:27Speaker 6: But I feel like you did it the right way.
- 4:30Speaker 2: You offered it to her first.
- 4:31Speaker 6: You checked if she could do it first. This guy
- 4:34Speaker 6: doesn't seem like he, he was like, yeah, let's go.
- 4:36Speaker 5: There's other situations with her, that situation. But I got
- 4:39Speaker 5: to tell you this, our bags, cause she has a
- 4:42Speaker 5: hurt shoulder. So she can't carry the suitcases. Our suitcases
- 4:45Speaker 5: are over in coach up on the top. So I
- 4:48Speaker 5: start to panic. I start going, wait, when we land.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:50Speaker 5: Do I have to wait for everybody to get off
- 4:51Speaker 5: the plane and go back? So I said to the
- 4:54Speaker 5: flight attendant, you say, probably I said the flight attendant,
- 4:56Speaker 5: I go, Hey, my, my bags are back there. And
- 4:58Speaker 5: she goes, Oh, why don't you go ahead and go
- 5:00Speaker 5: get them?
- 5:01Speaker 3: We're in the middle. I got two hours left. I go,
- 5:03Speaker 3: I can do that. She goes, yeah.
- 5:04Speaker 5: So I walked back there to get my, to get
- 5:06Speaker 5: her bag in my bag. I grabbed one bag and
- 5:08Speaker 5: then the flight attendant goes, give me the bag too.
- 5:10Speaker 5: I'll take the other bag. So he takes the other
- 5:11Speaker 5: bag and I'm like, excuse me, excuse me.
- 5:12Speaker 3: First class.
- 5:13Speaker 2: I think that's the benefit of you being married for.
- 5:15Speaker 3: A very long time because it's.
- 5:20Speaker 2: I was thinking if that happened to me, I would
- 5:23Speaker 2: be afraid to ask my wife, Stacy, if I could
- 5:25Speaker 2: go to first class. I would just suffer and be like, no,
- 5:28Speaker 2: I appreciate the opportunity. I'm going to sit here and coach.
- 5:31Speaker 4: And you would, you would give up the first class.
- 5:33Speaker 2: I would not give it up for anybody else, but
- 5:35Speaker 2: I would not take it because I think my wife
- 5:38Speaker 2: would be shooting daggers at me. Oh, she definitely would. Yeah.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Why would you not want to spend time with me?
- 5:44Speaker 2: We're going on this trip to spend time. So even
- 5:47Speaker 2: though I would love to, I would have no problem
- 5:49Speaker 2: going and taking it. The problem I have is that
- 5:52Speaker 2: she would be really mad at me if I even
- 5:54Speaker 2: considered it.
- 5:54Speaker 5: Well, also, I've got to tell you, I've been on
- 5:56Speaker 5: many flights with you, and you talked the whole flight.
- 5:58Speaker 5: So for me, with my wife, spending time starts when
- 6:02Speaker 5: we land.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Right, right. You're watching a show.
- 6:06Speaker 5: I got headphones on. I'm watching a movie. She's reading
- 6:09Speaker 5: a book. We're not spending time together. So anyway, that's
- 6:11Speaker 5: to me how I think the debate should go.
- 6:13Speaker 3: But maybe people feel different.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Would you take the tunnel? All relationships are different.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Would I take the first class?
- 6:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:20Speaker 3: I probably would just want to be with Scott.
- 6:23Speaker 6: Because honestly, it's such a short flight. Is it really
- 6:26Speaker 6: even worth it? Is it worth an argument? Is it
- 6:28Speaker 6: worth someone getting upset about it?
- 6:30Speaker 3: No, to me.
- 6:30Speaker 2: I just don't think my wife would get upset. I
- 6:33Speaker 2: don't think your wife would.
- 6:34Speaker 3: No, she would not. Interesting debate. Little story. By the way,
- 6:39Speaker 3: first class is awesome. I'm not going to lie.
- 6:41Speaker 2: I'm sure it's great.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Although, I will tell you this.
- 6:43Speaker 5: Emergency row in the first row of emergency row, when
- 6:48Speaker 5: you have that wall in front of you, much better,
- 6:50Speaker 5: more better, more better leg room than first class. But
- 6:52Speaker 5: first class is just like hot towel, cheese tray, breakfast, lunch, dinner.
- 6:58Speaker 5: I mean, all kinds of drinks before you take off.
- 7:00Speaker 3: It was great.
- 7:01Speaker 2: While people are loading up, do you want to- In fact,
- 7:02Speaker 2: you know what?
- 7:02Speaker 5: When you're in first class and somebody comes up from another,
- 7:06Speaker 5: from the coach to use the bathroom, like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 7:08Speaker 3: Hey, you can't use this bathroom.
- 7:10Speaker 2: That's for us. Hey, what's going on here?
- 7:12Speaker 3: And they're like, you didn't buy a first class ticket.
- 7:14Speaker 3: I know, but now I'm one of you.
- 7:15Speaker 6: I was going to say, do you think that the
- 7:16Speaker 6: people that paid for the first class tickets get upset
- 7:18Speaker 6: when people just.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Get randomly upgraded?
- 7:21Speaker 4: I paid for this.
- 7:22Speaker 6: You just walk up from coach.
- 7:24Speaker 5: I don't ever fly first class. It was a special thing.
- 7:26Speaker 5: So don't come down on me.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Management.
- 7:29Speaker 6: Have you guys ever seen the first class with, oh
- 7:32Speaker 6: my God, what's our favorite comedian, Brian Regan?
- 7:34Speaker 3: He's like, did you ever notice when.
- 7:36Speaker 6: People are in first class and you walk in and
- 7:38Speaker 6: they're on their laptops and like, I'm working, I'm making
- 7:40Speaker 6: money right now.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Right now I'm making money.
- 7:42Speaker 3: And then they have that curtain.
- 7:44Speaker 2: And it's like, snap it shut.
- 7:45Speaker 3: I don't want to see those people, even in my peripheral.
