Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
• 0:06
rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, March 9th, when life
• 0:11
feels heavy. Have you ever reached a point
• 0:14
where you just felt emotionally exhausted?
• 0:17
Not physically tired, but soul tired.
• 0:20
The kind of tired that comes from constant pressure,
• 0:23
friendship, tension, school stress, financial worries,
• 0:26
family issues. And you quietly wonder, does God
• 0:28
even see this? Job knew that weight in Job
• 0:32
chapter 19 verse 25, in the middle of deep suffering,
• 0:36
betrayal and misunderstanding, he said something powerful for I
• 0:40
know that my Redeemer lives and at the last he will stand upon
• 0:44
the earth. Notice he didn't say I feel like
• 0:47
my Redeemer lives. He said I know his circumstances
• 0:52
were falling apart, but his confidence in God was.
• 0:55
Psalm 28 verse 7 says the Lord is my strength and my shield.
• 1:00
In Him my heart trusts and I am helped.
• 1:02
A shield doesn't remove the battle, it protects you in the
• 1:05
middle of it. God being your strength doesn't
• 1:09
mean you won't feel weak. It means your weakness isn't the
• 1:12
end of the story. And then Proverbs chapter 12
• 1:15
verse one says whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but
• 1:18
he who hates reproof is stupid. That's blunt, but it's honest.
• 1:24
Sometimes the heaviness we feel is connected to correction,
• 1:27
growth, or lessons we didn't want to learn.
• 1:30
Discipline doesn't always feel good, but it produces wisdom.
• 1:34
The question is, will we resist it or receive it?
• 1:37
Hard seasons often carry hidden lessons.
• 1:40
Maybe you've walked through something painful that taught
• 1:42
you patience. Maybe disappointment taught you
• 1:45
  humility. Maybe failure taught you
• 1:47
dependence on God. Growth rarely happens in
• 1:50
comfort. It often happens in the weight.
• 1:53
When life feels heavy, it's tempting to withdraw or try to
• 1:57
fix everything yourself. But leaning on God means
• 2:00
admitting you need Him. It means praying honestly
• 2:03
  instead of pretending you're fine.
• 2:05
It means opening Scripture even when your emotions are loud.
• 2:09
It means saying, God, I trust you to be my shield, even if the
• 2:13
battle isn't over. Job declared hope before he saw
• 2:16
  restoration. That's mature faith.
• 2:19
Faith that doesn't wait for evidence to believe.
• 2:22
Faith that says I know my Redeemer lives even when I don't
• 2:25
yet see the outcome. You may not see how your story
• 2:28
ends right now, but you can know who holds it.
• 2:32
And that changes everything. The heaviness you feel today is
• 2:35
not permanent. The God who strengthens you is.
• 2:38
The shield around you is real, and your Redeemer is alive.
• 2:43
Let's pray. Heavenly Father, when life feels
• 2:45
overwhelming and heavy, remind me that you are my strength and
• 2:49
my shield. Teach me to trust You instead of
• 2:51
leaning only on myself. Help me receive correction and
• 2:55
grow through challenges. And like Job, give me the
• 2:58
confidence to say I know my Redeemer lives.
• 3:01
Hold me steady in hope even before I see the breakthrough in
• 3:05
Jesus name, Amen. What if the most important
• 3:09
question in your life deserves more than a shallow answer?
• 3:12

• 4:29
Now I invite you to spend time with God in today's three-year
• 4:31
Bible reading plan. Proverbs chapter 12 verse one
• 4:36
world English Bible Whoever loves correction loves
• 4:39
knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.
• 4:42
Psalm Chapter 28 World English Bible by David To you, Yahweh, I
• 4:47
call my rock. Don't be deaf to me, lest if you
• 4:50
are silent to me, I would become like those who go down into the
• 4:53
pit. Hear the voice of my petitions
• 4:56
when I cry to you, when I lift up my hands toward Your most
• 4:59
holy place. Don't draw me away with the
• 5:01
wicked, with the workers of iniquity who speak peace with
• 5:04
their neighbors, but mischief is in their hearts.
• 5:07
Give them according to their work and according to the
• 5:10
wickedness of their doings. Give them according to the
• 5:12
operation of their hands. Bring back on them what they
• 5:15
deserve, because they don't respect the works of Yahweh nor
• 5:19
the operation of His hands. He will break them down and not
• 5:22
build them up. Blessed be Yahweh, because He
• 5:24
has heard the voice of my petitions.
• 5:26
Yahweh is my strength and my shield.
• 5:28
My heart has trusted in him and I am helped.
• 5:31
Therefore my heart greatly rejoices with my song.
• 5:34
I will thank Him. Yahweh is their strength.
• 5:37
He is a stronghold of salvation to His anointed.
• 5:39
Save your people and bless your inheritance.
• 5:42
Be their shepherd also and bear them up forever.
• 5:45
Job Chapters 18 to 19 World English Bible.
• 5:49
Then build at the shoe height. Answered.
• 5:51
How long will you hunt for words?
• 5:53
Consider, and afterwards we will speak.
• 5:55
Why are we counted as animals which have become unclean in
• 5:58
your sight? You who tear yourself in your
• 6:00
anger, will the earth be forsaken for you, or will the
• 6:03
rock be removed out of its place?
• 6:05
Yes. The light of the wicked will be
• 6:07
put out. The spark of his fire won't
• 6:09
shine. The light will be dark in his
• 6:11
tent. His lamp above him will be put
• 6:13
out. The steps of his strength will
• 6:15
be shortened. His own counsel will cast him
• 6:18
down, for he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he wanders
• 6:22
into its mesh. A snare will take him by the
• 6:24
heel. A trap will catch him.
• 6:26
A noose is hidden for him in the ground, a trap for him on the
• 6:29
path. Terrors will make him afraid on
• 6:32
every side, and will chase him at his heels.
• 6:34
His strength will be famished. Calamity will be ready at his
• 6:38
side. The members of his body will be
• 6:40
devoured. The first born of death will
• 6:42
devour his members. He will be rooted out of the
• 6:45
security of his tent. He will be brought to the King
• 6:48
of Terrors. There will dwell in his tent
• 6:50
that which is none of his. Sulfur will be scattered on his
• 6:53
habitation. His roots will be dried up
• 6:56
beneath. His branch will be cut off
• 6:58
above. His memory will perish from the
• 7:00
earth. He will have no name in the
• 7:02
street. He will be driven from light
• 7:04
Into Darkness and chased out of the world.
• 7:06
He will have neither son nor grandson among his people, nor
• 7:10
any remaining where he lived. Those who come after will be
• 7:13
astonished at his day, as those who went before were frightened.
• 7:17
Surely such are the dwellings of the unrighteous.
• 7:20
This is the place of him who doesn't know God.
• 7:22
Then Job answered. How long will you torment me and
• 7:25
crush me with words? You have reproached me 10 times.
• 7:28
You aren't ashamed that you attack me.
• 7:31
If it is true that I have erred, my error remains with myself.
• 7:34
If indeed you will magnify yourselves against me and plead
• 7:38
against me my reproach, know now that God has subverted me and
• 7:41
has surrounded me with His net. Behold, I cry out of wrong, but
• 7:45
I am not heard. I cry for help, but there is no
• 7:48
justice. He is walled up my way so that I
• 7:50
can't pass, and has set darkness in my paths.
• 7:53
He has stripped me of my glory and taken the crown from my
• 7:56
head. He has broken me down on every
• 7:58
side, and I am gone. He has plucked my hope up like a
• 8:01
tree. He has also kindled his wrath
• 8:04
against me. He counts me among his
• 8:06
adversaries. His troops come on together,
• 8:09
build a siege ramp against me, and encamp around my tent.
• 8:12
He has put my brothers far from me.
• 8:14
My acquaintances are wholly estranged from me.
• 8:17
My relatives have gone away. My familiar friends have
• 8:20
forgotten me. Those who dwell in my house and
• 8:22
my maids consider me a stranger. I am an alien in their sight.
• 8:26
I call to my servant and he gives me no answer.
• 8:29
I beg him with my mouth. My breath is offensive to my
• 8:32
wife. I am loathsome to the children
• 8:34
of my own mother. Even young children despise me.
• 8:38
If I arise, they speak against me.
• 8:40
All my familiar friends abhor me.
• 8:42
They whom I loved have turned against me.
• 8:44
My bones stick to my skin and to my flesh.
• 8:46
I have escaped by the skin of my teeth.
• 8:49
Have pity on me. Have pity on me, you, my
• 8:51
friends, for the hand of God has touched me.
• 8:54
Why do you persecute me as God and are not satisfied with my
• 8:57
flesh? Oh, that my words were now
• 8:59
written. Oh that they were inscribed in a
• 9:01
book that with an iron pen and lead they were engraved in the
• 9:04
rock forever. But As for me, I know that my
• 9:07
Redeemer lives in the end. He will stand upon the earth
• 9:11
after my skin is destroyed. Then I will see God in my flesh,
• 9:15
whom I even I will see on my side.
• 9:17
My eyes will see and not as a stranger.
• 9:20
My heart is consumed within me. If you say how we will persecute
• 9:24
Him because the root of the matter is found in me, Be afraid
• 9:27
of the sword, for wrath brings the punishments of the sword,
• 9:30
that you may know there is a judgement.
