- 1:23Speaker 2: it allows my gift to arrive.

- 3:00Speaker 3: when the gunfire broke out. Now that same weekend, a
- 3:03Speaker 3: woman was wounded at a similar meetup in Landover, Well.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Despite this week's very heavy rain, the Potomac River's flow
- 3:12Speaker 3: is still solo that water suppliers are monitoring for drought.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Most of the rain fell downstream from DC's water intakes

- 3:56Speaker 3: say that were more connected digitally than we are in person.
- 4:01Speaker 3: And that is taking a toll forecast for today partly
- 4:04Speaker 3: cloudy skies, highs around eighty eight right now, seventy two
- 4:07Speaker 3: in Oakden.
- 4:08Speaker 2: And that is the news top stories at the top
- 4:12Speaker 2: of the hour. What does that mean? The news that
- 4:14Speaker 2: matters most As you get your day started, That's what
- 4:16Speaker 2: you get with ninety seven point one wash them. When
- 4:19Speaker 2: you wake up with us, Toby and Chilly in the morning,
- 4:21Speaker 2: we also take a moment to see how you're doing today,
- 4:24Speaker 2: your morning mindset words we hope might inspire, maybe they'll
- 4:27Speaker 2: even turn your day around. Those are minutes from now
- 4:32Speaker 2: when you need to wake up with Washington's variety from
- 4:35Speaker 2: the eighties natties and today you need ninety seven point
- 4:38Speaker 2: one wash them Toby and Chilly in the morning. How
- 4:40Speaker 2: are you doing today? Really? Well, here's something that will
- 4:44Speaker 2: either help or well maybe it'll turn someone's day around
- 4:48Speaker 2: that you know.
- 4:49Speaker 3: It's called our morning mindset. We find a quote and
- 4:52Speaker 3: share it with you to think about the rest of
- 4:54Speaker 3: the day.
- 4:54Speaker 2: From Ruth Bader Ginsburg, former Supreme Court justice. She says,
- 4:58Speaker 2: and this applies to all of us. Fight for the
- 5:01Speaker 2: things that you care about, but do it in a
- 5:04Speaker 2: way that will lead others to join you. Fight for
- 5:09Speaker 2: the things that you care about, but do it in
- 5:11Speaker 2: a way that will lead others to join you. You know,
- 5:13Speaker 2: if you try to fight the battle alone in life,
- 5:16Speaker 2: you'll ultimately end up very lonely and probably very tired.
- 5:22Speaker 2: And one of the things that I've learned along the way,
- 5:25Speaker 2: and I think that we can all attest to this,
- 5:28Speaker 2: is that the best leaders in life inspire right instead
- 5:32Speaker 2: of intimidating. And that means when you fight for the
- 5:36Speaker 2: things that you care about, you're usually gelling around the
- 5:40Speaker 2: leader who inspires you to join the cause. Be that
- 5:44Speaker 2: person today, Try it, see what happens. Ruth bader Ginsburg
- 5:49Speaker 2: with your morning mindset. Hopefully it helps. If you need it,
- 5:51Speaker 2: find it right now. It's on our stories on Insta
- 5:55Speaker 2: and you can grab it from there and share it
- 5:57Speaker 2: with somebody. Feel free to tag them in it commons
- 5:59Speaker 2: a way let us know your thoughts. Also at Toby
- 6:01Speaker 2: and Chilipage washfm dot com. Now coming up in just minutes.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Stay with us because.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Now you mentioned at the beginning of the show that
- 6:09Speaker 3: you were girlfriend's birthdays coming up and that you already
- 6:12Speaker 3: got the perfect gift for her. But I do have
- 6:14Speaker 3: some questions on how you would react. Okay if she
- 6:19Speaker 3: potentially never used said gift.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Well, this will be interesting. Our numbers eight sixty six,
- 6:25Speaker 2: nine two seven forty three sixty one in case you
- 6:27Speaker 2: want to use for anything, it's ninety seven point one
- 6:29Speaker 2: wash FM Toby and Chilly in the Morning Fire Away, Chili,
- 6:32Speaker 2: what's your question?
- 6:33Speaker 3: So, at the beginning of the show, you said that
- 6:36Speaker 3: you are getting the gift for your girlfriend before her
- 6:40Speaker 3: birthday this coming weekend.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Yeah, no kidding. It's the first to first time I've
- 6:43Speaker 2: actually planned and pulled it off, even had calendar reminders.
- 6:46Speaker 2: It's unbelievable.
- 6:47Speaker 3: I'm very proud of you for that. Now I know
- 6:49Speaker 3: what it is you got her, and I think it's
- 6:51Speaker 3: a great gift. I'm not going to say it on
- 6:52Speaker 3: the air because she may be listening, right. I am curious, though,
- 6:57Speaker 3: how would you feel if she did not use the
- 7:00Speaker 3: very practical gift that you got her Christmas? You bought
- 7:03Speaker 3: her a lovely necklace and you told me she hasn't
- 7:06Speaker 3: worn that necklace yet.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Facts, And I want to be poopy pants about it,
- 7:10Speaker 2: but you know, yeah, I thought I was making a
- 7:12Speaker 2: well educated guess. But you know, when you get somebody
- 7:15Speaker 2: a necklace or jewelry or something, you should ask them
- 7:17Speaker 2: because it's kind of hard to compete with sentimental things.
- 7:21Speaker 2: And the first necklace I got her one of those
- 7:24Speaker 2: early Christmases was I guess more sentimental than the new
- 7:28Speaker 2: necklace because she's never taken the first necklace off. Oh
- 7:31Speaker 2: since she got it.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Now, what if she does it again with this gift,
- 7:33Speaker 3: Like that'll be twice in a row she potentially doesn't
- 7:36Speaker 3: use something you get for her.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Well, if she doesn't do it with this gift, I'm
- 7:39Speaker 2: gonna sit back and I'm going to reevaluate every gift
- 7:42Speaker 2: I ever get for anybody. But I'd been doing the
- 7:46Speaker 2: gift card thing for multiple birthdays and it was time
- 7:49Speaker 2: I thought to spread my wings and try something else.
- 7:52Speaker 2: And well, if she didn't like it, I'm gonna not
- 7:55Speaker 2: be hurt. I'm just going to be more informed.
- 7:59Speaker 3: So you're gonna go back to get cards. If she
- 8:00Speaker 3: doesn't like this gift, you damn right. And I don't
- 8:03Speaker 3: blame you. Look, I've been like that. I've been like
- 8:06Speaker 3: that where my husband has purchased me things and I
- 8:10Speaker 3: like it, but I don't love it enough to use
- 8:12Speaker 3: and either I've returned it and gotten something I liked,
- 8:15Speaker 3: or he's just started getting me gift cards and I
- 8:17Speaker 3: think that that's fine.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Is that what happened to those socks he got you?
- 8:20Speaker 3: That one?
- 8:20Speaker 2: You're the bombas?
- 8:21Speaker 4: No, I still wear the bombas.

- 9:38Speaker 3: Authorities say that Aaron Farnacci was taken into custody after
- 9:41Speaker 3: a witness reported seeing him near the Old Trails fire
- 9:45Speaker 3: right before it started. The FTC and Maryland's General Attorney
- 9:50Speaker 3: General rather have accused Lindsey Automotive Group's locations in Wheaton,
- 9:54Speaker 3: Manassas and Woodbridge of luring customers with low advertised prices
- 9:59Speaker 3: and then charging them more once they arrived. So the
- 10:03Speaker 3: company will now refund the affected buyers and also pay
- 10:06Speaker 3: a civil penalty to Maryland topping three million dollars. Race
- 10:11Speaker 3: organizers are adding more laps to DC's Freedom two fifty
- 10:16Speaker 3: Grand prix, so the August twenty third Indy Car Race
- 10:19Speaker 3: will jump from one hundred and twenty five to one
- 10:22Speaker 3: hundred and forty seven laps, which will stretch it to
- 10:26Speaker 3: a full two hundred fifty miles. It's going to run
- 10:30Speaker 3: past the Capitol on Pennsylvania Constitution and Independence Avenues. A
- 10:36Speaker 3: major landmark near Howard University is changing. The old Wonderbred
- 10:40Speaker 3: Bakery on Georgia Avenue is being redeveloped into a nine
- 10:43Speaker 3: story building with two hundred and eighty dorm rooms, a
- 10:46Speaker 3: dining hall, retail space, and a wellness center and it's
- 10:49Speaker 3: all set to open in twenty twenty nine. And while
- 10:53Speaker 3: it Hub came out with the new rankings on the
- 10:55Speaker 3: best and worst states to have a baby, so they
- 10:58Speaker 3: looked at several factors hospital delivery cost to pediatricians per capita,
- 11:04Speaker 3: to parental leave policies. Massachusetts comes out on top as
- 11:09Speaker 3: the best state to have a baby, but DC came
- 11:13Speaker 3: in tenth. Now on the flip side, Mississippi lands at
- 11:17Speaker 3: the bottom. Forecast for today, we'll have partly cloudy skies
- 11:21Speaker 3: with highs around eighty eight right now seventy three in Ashburn,
- 11:24Speaker 3: and that.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Is the news top stories at the top of the hour.

- 11:30Speaker 2: with unlimited ride wristbands. Got a four pack of tickets
- 11:33Speaker 2: for you right now. Coller ten takes them eight six
- 11:36Speaker 2: six ninety two, seven forty three sixty one, eight six

- 11:42Speaker 2: can go on and gets fair on in the Moco.
- 11:45Speaker 2: From ninety seven point one, wash Chef n number one
- 11:48Speaker 2: movie on the planet. Got to see it? Spider Man
- 11:52Speaker 2: Brand New Day. Thoughts about the movie, We've got them
- 11:56Speaker 2: for you coming up in minutes. We're not rotten tomatoes,
- 11:58Speaker 2: but we're the next best thing. Toby and Chilly in
- 12:01Speaker 2: the Morning ninety seven point one washeff. We've asked Crash,
- 12:04Speaker 2: our producer, to come join us for this conversation because
- 12:07Speaker 2: on Friday of last week we were talking about going
- 12:09Speaker 2: to see Spider Man Brand New Day. The number one
- 12:13Speaker 2: movie on the planet as of right now Toby and
- 12:16Speaker 2: Chilly in the Morning at sety seven point one wash FM.
- 12:18Speaker 3: It made three hundred and fifty five million plus dollars
- 12:21Speaker 3: and it is the biggest debut since Avengers End Game. Now,
- 12:28Speaker 3: I will tell you what I read, guys, and I'm
- 12:29Speaker 3: gonna ask you both this. I read that people are
- 12:31Speaker 3: saying this one is the best Tom Holland Spider Man movie.
- 12:35Speaker 5: I would say it's the best Spider Man movie.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Concur completely agree Spider Man's It takes you to a
- 12:41Speaker 2: very adult place. The story could be real. And by
- 12:47Speaker 2: the way, there's something about this street level Spider Man
- 12:50Speaker 2: that I just really like. I mean, it's him without
- 12:53Speaker 2: a whole lot of powers and a whole lot of
- 12:55Speaker 2: tech doing his thing. But the lesson in the movie,
- 12:57Speaker 2: and I don't want to ruin it, but you and
- 12:59Speaker 2: I text about it, there's a lesson in this movie
- 13:02Speaker 2: that I think is transcendent, and that's that nobody is
- 13:06Speaker 2: going through life alone.
- 13:08Speaker 4: Right, Okay?
- 13:08Speaker 3: Now, did you like their special effects or is that
- 13:11Speaker 3: really not a big part of this movie.
- 13:13Speaker 5: I loved it and I saw it in three d oh.
- 13:16Speaker 5: And if you haven't seen a three D movie in
- 13:17Speaker 5: a few years, Do yourself a favor and see one,
- 13:21Speaker 5: because the technology is so much better now than it
- 13:23Speaker 5: was just a few years ago. So the swinging scenes
- 13:26Speaker 5: through New York on the webs fantastic. But the story itself,
- 13:30Speaker 5: like Toby said, was so good, Like I was so
- 13:33Speaker 5: lost in the characters that I forget that there's a
- 13:36Speaker 5: superhero movie going on around it.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a lot of pressure for them to outdo
- 13:40Speaker 3: this one, right, because if you're saying this is the
- 13:43Speaker 3: best spider Man all time movie, what's gonna happen next?
- 13:47Speaker 4: The bar has been really said high.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Well, what's going to happen next is Avengers end Game.
- 13:52Speaker 3: I'm curious if anybody else out there who's listening also
- 13:55Speaker 3: saw this movie.
- 13:56Speaker 2: Call us now eight sixty six nine two seven three
- 13:58Speaker 2: sixty one. What did you think of it? Sadie Sink
- 14:01Speaker 2: by the way, m oh the future.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Yes, about John Berthall, local guy.
- 14:06Speaker 2: He's amazing, the punishing, amazing, amazing, He's he's riding high
- 14:09Speaker 2: today whatever he want to said.
- 14:11Speaker 5: The buddy chemistry between Spider Man and Punisher, Yeah, loved it.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Oh, especially one scene toward the end. I'm gonna put
- 14:20Speaker 2: my hands up like I'm Rocky bow Bow and I'm
- 14:23Speaker 2: just gonna say this, Staten Island. Call us now what
- 14:25Speaker 2: you think of the movie. We're talking about it. We'd
- 14:28Speaker 2: love to hear what you have to say talking Spider
- 14:31Speaker 2: Man Rand New Day with Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 14:33Speaker 2: It's ninety seven point one wash them. You've heard our thoughts,
- 14:36Speaker 2: Crash our producer and I give it like fifteen thumbs
- 14:40Speaker 2: up and we don't have that many thumbs You.
- 14:41Speaker 3: Said it was the best Spider Man movie ever, So
- 14:45Speaker 3: that's that's quite a review there.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Yeah, it was everything about it was perfect.
- 14:52Speaker 3: And it made so much money. Obviously number one, it
- 14:55Speaker 3: continues to make money. But I don't know that you
- 14:57Speaker 3: guys are the only ones who actually feel that way.
- 15:00Speaker 2: No, I don't think we are. Now, Ron, good morning,
- 15:03Speaker 2: thanks for listening to us. And Kensington. You saw the
- 15:05Speaker 2: movie over the weekend. What'd you think of Spider Man?
- 15:07Speaker 1: So?
- 15:08Speaker 6: I really did enjoy it, you know, I thought the
- 15:11Speaker 6: length was very you know, was perfect. I felt like
- 15:15Speaker 6: this was a very mature version of Spider Man and
- 15:19Speaker 6: probably the better produced Marvel film.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Marvel's got to do a movie like this right. I mean,
- 15:24Speaker 2: you know their partners with Sony and everything.
- 15:26Speaker 3: And what about like the post credit scenes was did
- 15:30Speaker 3: that live up to your expectations?
- 15:32Speaker 6: I will say that the post credit scene felt very underwhelming. Wise,
- 15:37Speaker 6: I would still give this like a ninety eight percent
- 15:40Speaker 6: Ron tomatoes for sure.
- 15:41Speaker 2: I would say that it's guaranteed fresh Ron.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Would you say Tom Holland is your favorite Spider Man?
- 15:48Speaker 6: I felt like, you know, with Tom Holland Spider Man,
- 15:51Speaker 6: we got to see it, a better connection, you know
- 15:53Speaker 6: with him.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Bottom line, you think we should go see it?
- 15:56Speaker 6: I would definitely say, yeah, go for it.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Glowing endorsement, sir, thank you for your time this morning.
- 16:02Speaker 3: I guess I'm going to have to make time to
- 16:03Speaker 3: see in the theater and not wait for it to
- 16:05Speaker 3: show up on Netflix or something.
- 16:08Speaker 2: That's right. You need to see it on the biggest
- 16:09Speaker 2: screen imaginable. That's right. I was not paid by the
- 16:12Speaker 2: movie theaters to say that, or the ri double. It's
- 16:15Speaker 2: ninety seven point one wash FM, Toby and Chilly in
- 16:18Speaker 2: the morning. The news is on the way top stories
- 16:20Speaker 2: at the top of the hour. What you got.
- 16:22Speaker 3: A new report finds that forty million US adults have
- 16:26Speaker 3: hearing loss from noise exposure, and there are things you
- 16:29Speaker 3: are doing every day that are taking their toll.
- 16:33Speaker 4: I'll share what they are coming up.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Right around seven ten. If you want to see TLC
