Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It's the Erkashov got Jennifer Gibson on with us because
- 0:03Speaker 1: there's a big event that's benefiting children, teens, young adults
- 0:07Speaker 1: with mental health anxiety depression, which we definitely need these
- 0:11Speaker 1: days all the resources and research and money towards that
- 0:14Speaker 1: that we can get. And so, Jennifer, you've got a
- 0:16Speaker 1: big event coming up August ninth, Bahia Beach House and
- 0:19Speaker 1: Surf Far at Atlantic Beach, which is one of my faves.
- 0:22Speaker 1: But it's supposed to be the party of the summer.
- 0:24Speaker 1: So tell us all the details about this, Erica.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Thanks so much for having me on. This is great.
- 0:28Speaker 2: We are so excited about this Bahia Endless Summer fundraiser party.
- 0:32Speaker 2: It is absolutely, as you said, the can't miss party
- 0:35Speaker 2: of the season down there at the beach. It is
- 0:37Speaker 2: going to be an unbelievable lineup of chefs and gourmet
- 0:41Speaker 2: inspired food bites and incredible exceptional wineries from all across
- 0:45Speaker 2: the country, as well as dancing far into the evening
- 0:48Speaker 2: to the embers. And it is all to help support
- 0:51Speaker 2: children's mental health research as you said, So it's more
- 0:54Speaker 2: than it's more than just a party. It's a true
- 0:56Speaker 2: fundraiser and the place to be on August night.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Okay, and the Embers we all know in love, they're fantastic.
- 1:02Speaker 1: And then you've got really famous chefs. You've got chefs
- 1:05Speaker 1: from Ingus Barn coming, like some big names coming. Taste
- 1:08Speaker 1: incredible wine paired with these amazing dishes.
- 1:11Speaker 2: That's correct. We are so excited. The incredible team down
- 1:15Speaker 2: there at Bahea, the owners Don Holloway and Tracy Carrillers
- 1:19Speaker 2: and their group are working so hard to help support
- 1:23Speaker 2: this and for this incredible event. This is the third
- 1:26Speaker 2: Bahea Summer fundraiser that we have done and it is
- 1:30Speaker 2: just it is unbelievable. So the guest chefs are going
- 1:33Speaker 2: to be there in person. We've got Steth Kingsbury coming.
- 1:36Speaker 2: We've got chefs from the Angus Barn as you said,
- 1:38Speaker 2: We've got chefs from Seabird and a number of other
- 1:41Speaker 2: places all around the coast and the Triangle area coming
- 1:45Speaker 2: in and donating their time that we're going to be there.
- 1:47Speaker 2: We've got wineries like Reynolds Family Winery, Champagne, Deeper Biltmore
- 1:51Speaker 2: and some other just unbelievable wines that are going to
- 1:54Speaker 2: be coming. So you get to taste wine and food,
- 1:57Speaker 2: you get to enjoy. There's going to be fantastic music,
- 2:00Speaker 2: like you said, from the embers, and we've got a
- 2:02Speaker 2: silent and live auction, a mission moment, and it's just
- 2:05Speaker 2: going to be a really great evening down there at
- 2:09Speaker 2: no better place than the Beha Beach House.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Now.
- 2:11Speaker 2: I love that.
- 2:11Speaker 1: And one hundred percent of the proceeds are going to CHANT,
- 2:14Speaker 1: which is the foundation of Hope Child and Adolescent anxiety
- 2:17Speaker 1: and mood disorders. And I love that because I know
- 2:20Speaker 1: the Angus barn is behind it and Van and the
- 2:22Speaker 1: whole team, like we all know that they are so
- 2:24Speaker 1: huge on mental health, always with the Walk for Hope
- 2:27Speaker 1: every year, and so this is another avenue where it's
- 2:30Speaker 1: really helping these young children adolescents. I mean, with social
- 2:32Speaker 1: media and our world today, it is so needed more
- 2:35Speaker 1: than ever to have that research and the funding to
- 2:37Speaker 1: help kids and our youth, which is our future for.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Sure, for sure. And that's that's what's so exciting about
- 2:43Speaker 2: the foundation of Hopes CHANT program over there at the
- 2:45Speaker 2: UNC Department of Psychiatry in Chapel Hill is there hasn't
- 2:49Speaker 2: been a lot of research that's dedicated to helping kids
- 2:52Speaker 2: and teens and young adults that are really struggling with
- 2:55Speaker 2: anxiety and depression and these other mood disorders, and so
- 2:58Speaker 2: what CHAMP is trying to do, especially as we see
- 3:01Speaker 2: that kids and teams are turning more to online or
- 3:04Speaker 2: AI or looking for help in different places, we want
- 3:08Speaker 2: to make sure that what the help that they're getting
- 3:09Speaker 2: is really evidence based, research backed, high quality care, and
- 3:14Speaker 2: that's what Champ's doing. So they're using the research to
- 3:18Speaker 2: really create these new treatment models that help kids and
- 3:22Speaker 2: teens and their families right now when they need it.
- 3:25Speaker 2: But then it's also where and how they need it.
- 3:27Speaker 2: So whether they're here in the Triangle, whether they're anywhere
- 3:31Speaker 2: across the state, they can access this really great evidence
- 3:34Speaker 2: based care through this research program that started at UNC
- 3:38Speaker 2: Chapel Hill just a few years ago. It's really amazing and.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Tickets are three hundred dollars very affordable. Also, you can
- 3:43Speaker 1: sponsor a table at like a thousand bucks. So maybe
- 3:46Speaker 1: you have you know, family friends to get together your
- 3:48Speaker 1: group your squad as you call it, or you know,
- 3:51Speaker 1: maybe your office wants to sponsor, but regardless, it's all
- 3:55Speaker 1: going to help these kids and our youth.
- 3:58Speaker 2: So it is all through the Foundation of Hope, right
- 4:00Speaker 2: here in Raleigh. As you said, you know, with Van
- 4:03Speaker 2: and Shelley and the entire the entire team, and but
- 4:08Speaker 2: we are it is all going to help. It is
- 4:10Speaker 2: all going to help kids and teens right here in
- 4:12Speaker 2: our community and across the state.
- 4:13Speaker 1: My dot onecuse dot com is that where people can
- 4:16Speaker 1: get all the details and buy tickets.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Yep, they can buy tickets there at my dot one
- 4:21Speaker 2: cause dot com slash Bahia, or they can visit Walkfhope
- 4:24Speaker 2: dot com and click on events and they'll have all
- 4:26Speaker 2: the information they need to get the information on the
- 4:28Speaker 2: Behia Party. Erica, I hope you can join us on
- 4:30Speaker 2: August night down there in Atlantic Beach at the Bahia Party.
- 4:34Speaker 2: It is absolutely a can't miss evening and for so
- 4:38Speaker 2: many for such a great cause for kids and teens
- 4:40Speaker 2: across the state.
- 4:41Speaker 1: So no excuse is it's a great way to get
- 4:43Speaker 1: away for the summer. If you don't have beach plans,
- 4:45Speaker 1: go down to Atlantic Beach. It's my beach I go
- 4:47Speaker 1: to every year. That's where I live pretty much in
- 4:49Speaker 1: the summer. And if not, make it a day trip.
- 4:50Speaker 1: It's not that far of a drive or stay overnight
- 4:53Speaker 1: just one night. But it's really going for a great call.
- 4:55Speaker 1: So again, my dot one cause dot com slash Bahia
- 4:58Speaker 1: and thank you so much.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Thank you, Erica. We're excited to see you and really
- 5:02Speaker 2: appreciate you helping us spread the word about children's mental
- 5:05Speaker 2: illness research
