- 0:00Numbers Chapter 5. Let us pray.
- 0:04Our Father, our Father, the whole world's father.
- 0:12Regardless if we acknowledge you or not, You are our Father.
- 0:17Every nation, every people group, every tribe.
- 0:22Lord, you are the great I am, the Creator of everything seen
- 0:30and unseen, the only one true, living God, our Father, who is
- 0:36in heaven. Lord, you are omnipresent.
- 0:41You are there. You are here, God, you are
- 0:43everywhere. Lord, I pray that your Kingdom
- 0:48will come here onto this earth, just as it is there where you
- 0:55are, your holy habitation, the throne room, God, bring about
- 1:02here on this earth, the Kingdom of heaven.
- 1:10We pray, God that we will not try to build our own Kingdom
- 1:13here, Lord, but we'll submit to your Kingdom coming on this
- 1:19earth. Lord, I pray for your will to be
- 1:22done, not our own selfish will God, but the prophetic timeline
- 1:27that you have outlined in Scripture.
- 1:29God, clearly, I pray that it comes.
- 1:32Lord, let your will be done across every land and every
- 1:37people group, across every continent and every government,
- 1:42every official and every leader. Let your will be done, whatever
- 1:46that is. God, let us step out of our own
- 1:49understanding. Let us step out of our own
- 1:51intellect and reasoning and our moral compass.
- 1:54God, and let us submit completely and fully to the will
- 2:00that you have outlined here. Give us a biblical narrative.
- 2:03Give us a biblical worldview. Father, give us biblical
- 2:07conviction today. God, your will be done, no
- 2:13matter what it looks like. God, your will be done.
- 2:19Give us this day Our Daily Bread.
- 2:22Father, thank you for the Rhema and the Logos.
- 2:26Thank you for the manna in the quail.
- 2:28Thank you for the word that became flesh.
- 2:34Thank you for bread and sustenance.
- 2:39God, forgive us for our many sins.
- 2:42Lord, we repent, we confess. God, of all the times that we've
- 2:47got it wrong. Lord, of all the times, Lord,
- 2:51that we have missed the mark, we confess it.
- 2:55Lord, we repent. We turn, turn away from every
- 3:04lesser lover towards you. God forgive us.
- 3:11Thank you for the forgiveness that was wrought for us on the
- 3:16cross of Calvary. Thank you for covering us with
- 3:19the blood of Jesus and forgiving us and giving us purity and
- 3:23righteousness and innocence in your eyes.
- 3:26God, help us to be a forgiving people.
- 3:29Lord, help us to forgive 70 * 7 our brothers and sisters in
- 3:35Christ, Unlimited, infinite God Forgiveness, Lord.
- 3:43I pray you'll keep us from the evil. 1 Lord.
- 3:46Form a hedge of protection around our houses, around our
- 3:50cars, around our children, Lord. Form a hedge of protection
- 3:56around school houses, Lord. Form a hedge of protection
- 4:00around courthouses, God. Form a hedge of protection
- 4:04around military, God and around law enforcement, Lord.
- 4:08Form a hedge of protection around those that are running
- 4:12into burning buildings, God. Form a hedge of protection
- 4:15around those that are the first responders.
- 4:18God, I pray in the mighty name of Jesus God, you'll rebuke the
- 4:23devourer. God, let no unclean thing come
- 4:26into the camp. Lord, help us to shut our
- 4:33windows. Lord, quit letting things in.
- 4:37Lord, I pray that we'll consecrate this temple.
- 4:45Drive out any unclean thing in the mighty name of Jesus.
- 4:49Throw him off the Cliff, into the pigs, into the swine.
- 4:53Father, drown them in the depths of despair.
- 4:56God, every demonic entity must go in the name of Jesus.
- 5:02Flee for dying is the Kingdom and the glory and the power.
- 5:10All honor belongs to King Jesus. Yeshua the Hamas here the
- 5:21branch. Thank you, Lord.
- 5:29Thank you, Jesus. Holy Spirit, Phyllis, teach us,
- 5:32correct us, give us discernment today.
- 5:35Holy Spirit, thank you for helping us and comforting us.
- 5:39What's in Jesus's name that we pray?
- 5:42Amen. Let's start in verse one.
- 5:45And the Lord spoke unto Moses saying, verse 2, command the
- 5:53children of Israel that they put out of the camp every leper and
- 5:56everyone that has an issue, whosoever is defiled by the
- 6:01dead. So here we're going to get into
- 6:03a interesting little passage here where you're going to get
- 6:07to see that every unclean thing must go and be separate from the
- 6:12holy habitation of where God is. And this speaks to the sin
- 6:16nature in all of us. We didn't ask for it, we didn't
- 6:20choose it, we didn't bring it upon ourselves.
- 6:22We were born into sin. And you can see here that God is
- 6:28making a distinction between holy things and between things
- 6:33that are defiled. Three, both male and female
- 6:38shall you put out outside the camp.
- 6:40You shall put them that they not defile their camps in the midst
- 6:45whereof I dwell. And of course, you can see here
- 6:48that there was a practical application where there need not
- 6:52be any more spread of this disease.
- 6:59And that is how sin works. A little bit of leaven in the
- 7:03lump makes the entire lump bad. And you can see here that God
- 7:11knows how things work, diseases, communicable diseases, virology,
- 7:16and how these things are spread. And you can see that God knows
- 7:21in the practical application that they must completely
- 7:25separate and isolate and quarantine.
- 7:28And that is what is referenced here.
- 7:31And we learned a whole lot about that on a worldwide pandemic
- 7:34scale recently, didn't we, friends?
- 7:38And you need to know there's coming a day and an hour where
- 7:43that will be magnified to the thousandth degree.
- 7:47That was just a snapshot of a worldwide, one world system that
- 7:55is controlled, friends, where you can neither buy nor sell
- 7:59anything without receiving the mark of the beast.
- 8:03And here you can see that God wants them to quarantine.
- 8:06God wants them to isolate those that are infected, so that it
- 8:11does not spread within the entire camp.
- 8:16Five. And the Lord spoke unto Moses,
- 8:19saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, When a man or woman
- 8:23shall commit any sin that men commit, to do a trespass against
- 8:28the Lord, and that person be guilty, 7 then they shall
- 8:34confess their sin which they have done, And he shall repay
- 8:37his trespass with the principle thereof, and add unto it a fifth
- 8:43part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he has
- 8:46trespassed. So here's whenever the
- 8:48conscience is pricked, and you realize that you have done
- 8:53something offensive unto a holy God, and you're paying the the
- 8:58debt of it in your own mind and heart.
- 9:02This reap what you sow, and here you would go and make it good,
- 9:06make it right, and you'd pay it back, and add 20% to the person
- 9:11whom you have harmed. 8 But if the man have no kinsmen to repay
- 9:18the trespass unto, let the trespass be repealing to the
- 9:22Lord, even to the priest beside the ram of the atonement,
- 9:26whereby an atonement shall be made for him.
- 9:31So here you can see that they had three options.
- 9:35They could go and they could pay it to the person that they harm.
- 9:39They could pay it to the kinsman Redeemer.
- 9:42The go El. You can see that if there was
- 9:45somebody close, if they were not around, if they were not alive,
- 9:48they could go and pay it to the kinsman Redeemer.
- 9:51But if there was no one in the family to be able to pay it to,
- 9:55and the person wasn't available, then you could take it to the
- 9:59priest and the priest would accept it.
- 10:01And then this is how they made their living, and they were
- 10:03worthy of such substitutions. They were worthy of such of an
- 10:10income. Friends, anybody who works for
- 10:12the Lord is worth their income. They're worth the money that's
- 10:17coming in. We do not need to try to break
- 10:20them down for receiving it. 9 Every offering of the holy
- 10:27things of the children of Israel which they bring unto the priest
- 10:30shall be his, 10 and every man's hallowed things shall be his.
- 10:35Whatsoever any man give to the priest, it shall be his.
- 10:39So some of the trespass offering was given, and the priest would
- 10:44receive it, and it was part of his payment, it was part of his
- 10:49income. 11 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying, 12 Speak
- 10:55unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man's wife
- 10:58go aside and commits A trespass against him, 13 And a man lie
- 11:03with her carnally, and they be hid from the eyes of her
- 11:06husband, and be kept close, and she be defiled, and there be no
- 11:12witness against her, neither she be taken with the manner.
- 11:17So we're going to get into this very unorthodox approach of how
- 11:20God told Moses to try to figure out if a woman had been
- 11:25unfaithful, if it was not revealed, if it was just thought
- 11:30of and implied, if he had this spirit of jealousy that would
- 11:33come upon him. And this was not only to try and
- 11:38figure out if the woman had actually done the ACT, but this
- 11:41was to protect her from a jealous husband who was
- 11:45wrathful. This would have been for her
- 11:49good, to keep her husband from being someone who would have a
- 11:55domestic violence account. 14 And the spirit of jealousy come
- 12:04upon him, and he'd be jealous of his wife, and she'd be defiled.
- 12:08Or if the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he'd be
- 12:12jealous of his wife, and she'd be not defiled.
- 12:15So this would have been a way for them to try to figure out if
- 12:19she had actually done the act, and this was a way to protect
- 12:23her. 15 Then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest, and he
- 12:28shall bring her offering for her the 10th part of an IPA of
- 12:33barley meal, and he shall pour no oil upon it, nor put
- 12:37frankincense on it. For it is an offering of
- 12:40jealousy, an offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to
- 12:45remembrance. This was stirring the pot, this
- 12:47was bringing things to the surface that should have been
- 12:51private. But for whatever reason this man
- 12:55was, he was bound to have to take it and be public with it.
- 12:59He could not just deal with it within the four walls of his own
- 13:02house. He would have been in the wrong
- 13:04to try to deal with it on his own.
- 13:07This was a public order and this would have been to discourage
- 13:11people from doing this unnecessarily.
- 13:14So they would have had to bring in this offering, and this
- 13:18offering was to signify something of a somber occasion.
- 13:22This was not to have any kind of fragrant fragrance of any kind
- 13:26of pleasantries on it. This was a offering that was
- 13:32supposed to mimic the oneness with God, the communion with
- 13:37God. And then here you're going to
- 13:40see what God is going to prescribe for them, to try to
- 13:44figure out if a woman has secretly committed adultery
- 13:48against her wife or against her husband. 16 And the priest shall
- 13:57bring her near, and set her before the Lord, so he'd bring
- 14:02her, and he'd go close up against the holy place. 17 In
- 14:08the priest shall take the holy water in an earthen vessel, and
- 14:13of the dust that is in the floor of the Tabernacle the priest
- 14:23shall take and put it into the water.
- 14:26So he's taking the holy water, and he's putting the dust of the
- 14:30floor in it. 18 And the priest shall set the woman before the
- 14:34Lord, and uncover the woman's head, and put the offering of
- 14:38memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering.
- 14:42And the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that
- 14:45causes the curse. So can you see the whole scene?
- 14:48The woman is publicly disgraced, brought in by her husband.
- 14:52He's accusing her of infidelity that he cannot prove here.
- 14:58The woman is protected because it is all done in a legal way.
- 15:03It's all done in the required prescribed way.
- 15:07It's not just dealt with in the anger and the hotness of the
- 15:11husband who could have a murderous intent.
- 15:15He was to bring her there and it was a place of protection for
- 15:20her, so that she was not unnecessarily accused of
- 15:23something that she had not done that he had no validity to.
- 15:27There was no substance to, there was no proof of.
- 15:30And so the priest would bring her under his protection and
- 15:34bring her in there. And the priest would take this
- 15:37bread and put it in her hand. He would untie and her hair
- 15:41where it would hang loose, and he would cause the water with
- 15:45the dust of the floor to be put into her hand. 19 The priest
- 15:52shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man
- 15:56have laid with you, and if you have not gone aside into
- 16:00uncleanness with another instead of your husband, then you be
- 16:05free from this bitter water that causes the curse.
- 16:08There was nothing in the water that would actually be bitter or
- 16:11that would make any kind of sickness.
- 16:13Friends. This would have been completely
- 16:17on a holy God to determine. It was not the dust of the
- 16:21floor. It was not the ink that would be
- 16:23put into it. It was not the water, friends.
- 16:27This was just completely reliant upon the Lord showing what
- 16:33actually happened. This was just all a legal
- 16:37proceeding. That's all this was.
- 16:40It was just going through the required motions to be able to
- 16:46reveal what happened in secret, whether she was exonerated or
- 16:53whether she was convicted. 20 But if you have gone aside to
- 17:06another instead of your husband, and if you be defiled, and some
- 17:10men have laid with you besides your husband, 21 then the priest
- 17:14shall charge the woman with an oath of curse.
- 17:18And the priest shall say unto the woman, The Lord make you a
- 17:21curse and an oath among your people.
- 17:24And the Lord does make your thigh to rot and your belly to
- 17:28swell. So this thigh to rot is talking
- 17:30about her womb and this belly to swell.
- 17:34Friends, this would have been a mark of the Lord's judgment upon
- 17:38her for stepping out in an adulterous way. 22 In this water
- 17:46that causes the curse shall go into your bowels and make your
- 17:49belly to swell, your thigh to rot, and the woman shall say,
- 17:54Amen, Amen. So she was saying yes, yes,
- 17:59whatever it is that you say. And if she was not guilty, she
- 18:03had nothing to worry about, and she would have been honoured
- 18:09amongst all of the people, because God would open up her
- 18:15womb and she would be able to have children.
- 18:18But if she was guilty, God would close the womb, and she would be
- 18:23disgraced. 23 And the priest shall write these curses in a
- 18:27book, and he shall blot them out with the bitter water.
- 18:31So he would write it, and then he would take the ink and put it
- 18:33into the water. 24 And he shall cause the woman to drink the
- 18:39bitter water that causes the curse, and the water that causes
- 18:42the curse shall enter into her and become bitter.
- 18:45God was the only one that could make it bitter. 25 And the
- 18:49priest shall take the jealousy offering out of the woman's
- 18:53hand, and shall wave the offering before the Lord, and
- 18:57offer it upon the altar. So he would take the bread, and
- 19:00he would wave it before the Lord, and then he would take
- 19:03part of it and throw it into the fire. 26 And the priest shall
- 19:08take a handful of the offering, even the memorial of it, and
- 19:11burn it upon the altar, and afterwards shall cause the woman
- 19:14to drink the water. 27 And when he has made her to drink the
- 19:19water, that it shall come to pass, that if she be defiled,
- 19:24and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that
- 19:28causes the curse shall enter into her and become bitter, and
- 19:32her belly shall swell, and her thighs shall rot, and the woman
- 19:36shall be a curse among her people. 28 And if the woman be
- 19:41not defiled, but be clean, then she shall be free, and shall
- 19:47conceive seed. So God would bless her.
- 19:52If all this was a big hoax, then God would open up her womb.
- 19:58He would show everybody that she was blessed.
- 20:02She had not done. These things that she was
- 20:04accused of. 29 This is the law of jealousies.
- 20:11When a wife goes aside to another instead of her husband,
- 20:15and is defiled, 30 Or when the spirit of jealousy comes upon
- 20:19him, and he be jealous over his wife, and shall set the woman
- 20:24before the Lord, and the priest shall execute upon her all this
- 20:29law. 31 Then shall the man be guiltless from iniquity, and
- 20:34this woman shall bear her iniquity.
- 20:37So it is implied that he would have to bear his iniquity if she
- 20:42was not practicing infidelity. If she was not an adulterer,
- 20:49then perhaps this was to be put on to him.
- 20:52We can only imply that, but you need to understand that, that
- 20:58God desires for one man and for one woman to come together and
- 21:03have a monogamous relationship. And this should be simple.
- 21:09This should be common sense. But God does not desire
- 21:15polygamy. He does not desire for us to
- 21:18step out. He wants one man and one woman
- 21:22to come together and to rear children and to raise up
- 21:25warriors unto Christ and shoot those arrows out into the world.
- 21:31I pray that you've been blessed by this amazing chapter in God's
- 21:34Word. It's a hard chapter, friends, An
- 21:37unorthodox chapter, friends, but we need to read it.
- 21:41We need to know it. We need to understand it.
- 21:43We need to understand God's heart.
- 21:45And His heart is for marriage. His heart is for us to remain
- 21:51faithful all the way to the end, till death do us part.
- 21:55For better or for worse, sickness and health, we will
- 22:01make the commitment to our spouses and finish the race
- 22:05well. Stay prayed up, stay blessed.
- 22:08I'm praying for you. I love you.
- 22:10We'll see you back here tomorrow.
- 22:11God bless you.
