- 0:00Speaker 1: Three things you need to know.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Well, good morning.
- 0:03Speaker 3: Just after 6 o'clock on this Thursday morning. No Ricky
- 0:06Speaker 3: Sanchez today, but our friend Kevin Mano has three things
- 0:09Speaker 3: that you need to know.
- 0:10Speaker 4: I do.
- 0:11Speaker 5: Thank you, Zach, and thank you for being here. Apparently,
- 0:14Speaker 5: Adele is working on a new album. This would be
- 0:17Speaker 5: her fifth album. It's scheduled right now. It's very early,
- 0:20Speaker 5: but the word is the rumor is it's scheduled to
- 0:23Speaker 5: be released sometime in the summer of 2027. We don't
- 0:25Speaker 5: really have too much info on it, but apparently the
- 0:28Speaker 5: working title is 38 or 39. She normally she's 38
- 0:33Speaker 5: right now. She normally names the albums after when she
- 0:35Speaker 5: started writing them, not necessarily when she releases them. So
- 0:38Speaker 5: I would guess if she is, in fact, working on this,
- 0:40Speaker 5: it'll be called 38 now. Today is the last day
- 0:44Speaker 5: for early voting. There are a bunch of polling locations
- 0:47Speaker 5: throughout Middle Tennessee, but if you are unsure where to go,
- 0:50Speaker 5: you can check out Nashville.gov for all that information.
- 0:54Speaker 2: It's all right there to make it easy.
- 0:55Speaker 5: You can find that along with a sample ballot so
- 0:57Speaker 5: you know what you're looking at when you get to
- 0:59Speaker 5: the polls. If you can't vote today, make sure you're
- 1:02Speaker 5: ready for voting day on November 3rd. That is coming up.
- 1:05Speaker 5: It's next Tuesday, November 3rd. Important day. Make sure you
- 1:08Speaker 5: get out there and vote.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Zach, you voted, right? I have indeed already voted.
- 1:11Speaker 3: And I do want to say if you're worried about it,
- 1:13Speaker 3: it literally took less than five minutes to get in
- 1:16Speaker 3: and out. So hardly any time at all. Probably a
- 1:18Speaker 3: longer line on Tuesday. Yeah, a lot longer on Tuesday.
- 1:22Speaker 3: So go ahead and go today. Get it done with.
- 1:24Speaker 5: Also here, lastly, this is your reminder that Daylight Saving
- 1:27Speaker 5: Time ends on Sunday. Saturday night, you know, Sunday morning,
- 1:31Speaker 5: however you want to look at it. So according to
- 1:33Speaker 5: sleep experts, in the next few days, you might want
- 1:35Speaker 5: to try moving up your bedtime, your wake-up time, your meals,
- 1:39Speaker 5: your workouts, by about 15 minutes each day just to
- 1:41Speaker 5: kind of get yourself ready. They say it can help
- 1:44Speaker 5: ease your mind and your body into the change. They
- 1:46Speaker 5: also recommend getting some morning sunshine. Keeping a consistent wake-up
- 1:50Speaker 5: schedule and cutting back on bright lights and screens before bed.
- 1:54Speaker 2: I will not be doing that. Well, we knew that much, Kevin.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Hey, does that mean that the clocks go back an hour?
- 2:00Speaker 2: Yes, we fall back in the fall.
- 2:02Speaker 3: So we get an extra hour of sleep. I'm going
- 2:05Speaker 3: to be so refreshed on Monday.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Get an extra hour of Halloween, Zach.
- 2:09Speaker 4: Oh, sleep.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Halloween.
- 2:10Speaker 1: There you go.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Three things you now know.
- 2:12Speaker 5: We do have more of these Matchbox 20 All-American Rejects
- 2:15Speaker 5: tickets on the way. For the first caller of the day,
- 2:18Speaker 5: here's Stella Lefty, one of our Jingle Ball artists on
- 2:20Speaker 5: the river.
- 2:21Speaker 4: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning. 107.5 The River.
- 2:24Speaker 5: It's Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning. Actually, today,
- 2:27Speaker 5: it's Melissa, Zach, and Mano in the morning. Melissa is
- 2:30Speaker 5: on the phone right now.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Hi, Melissa.
- 2:32Speaker 5: Hey, how are you?
- 2:33Speaker 2: We're good.
- 2:34Speaker 5: Yeah, Ricky's not here with us today, but we're hanging.
- 2:36Speaker 5: We're happy you're here, Melissa in Columbia. What are you
- 2:39Speaker 5: doing right now?
- 2:40Speaker 2: Heading to work. What do you do, Melissa?
- 2:42Speaker 1: I'm a nurse.
- 2:43Speaker 3: We have so many medical professionals that get up so
- 2:45Speaker 3: early and go to work.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Melissa, how long have you been a nurse? 30 years
- 2:49Speaker 2: this year.
- 2:50Speaker 4: Dang!
- 2:51Speaker 2: Happy anniversary. Thank you. Do you work on Saturday? Do
- 2:54Speaker 2: you work this Saturday, Halloween? Nope, I don't work on Saturdays.
- 2:58Speaker 5: Are you like, because I picture you in a hospital.
- 3:00Speaker 5: Are you in a hospital or a doctor's office?
- 3:02Speaker 2: I'm in a hospital at a surgery center.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Okay.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Does it get weird? Is there an uptick in stuff
- 3:08Speaker 2: on Halloween, you think?
- 3:10Speaker 4: Full moon, mainly.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Just the full moon stuff.
- 3:12Speaker 4: Full moon.
- 3:12Speaker 2: We've heard that before, yeah. People go nuts.
- 3:14Speaker 3: You said surgery center. What kind of surgeries are you
- 3:16Speaker 3: doing up in there?
- 3:18Speaker 2: All kinds of stuff. Urology, female surgeries, tonsils, all kinds
- 3:23Speaker 2: of stuff. Oh, D, all of the above.
- 3:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Well, what are you doing on Halloween? If you're not working,
- 3:28Speaker 2: what are you going to be up to?
- 3:29Speaker 1: Actually, I don't have any plans.
- 3:31Speaker 2: I live pretty rural, so I won't have any trick-or-treaters, so...
- 3:34Speaker 2: Probably low-key watching movies or something. That sounds kind of relaxing, actually.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Quiet night.
- 3:39Speaker 1: I know.
- 3:39Speaker 5: Do you happen to have plans on May 18th of 2027?
- 3:43Speaker 2: I hope I do now. You do, yeah, because that's
- 3:46Speaker 2: when the Smashbox 20 show is. And congratulations, you're the
- 3:48Speaker 2: first caller of the day. Thank you so much.
- 3:50Speaker 1: So excited about it.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Yeah, girl, you're going to see Smashbox 20 and All-American
- 3:54Speaker 3: Rejects at Bridgestone Arena May 18th.
- 3:56Speaker 2: It's a Tuesday night, so you might have to take
- 3:59Speaker 2: the day off work.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I'll do that.
- 4:01Speaker 4: Probably the next day off of work.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Good idea. Melissa, thank you so much for starting your
- 4:06Speaker 2: day with us. Have a great shift at work and
- 4:09Speaker 2: a great Halloween. Thank you so much.
- 4:11Speaker 4: I appreciate it.
- 4:11Speaker 2: All right, you got it. We've got more tomorrow. Your
- 4:13Speaker 2: last chance to win these. Same time tomorrow.
- 4:16Speaker 4: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 4:18Speaker 1: On 107.5 The River.
- 4:20Speaker 5: If you were here with us at this time yesterday,
- 4:23Speaker 5: you heard Ricky Sanchez make the expert decision. She came
- 4:27Speaker 5: to me, Kevin Mano, for advice and... And of course,
- 4:30Speaker 5: I knocked it out of the park. And now Zach
- 4:33Speaker 5: is doing the same thing.
- 4:34Speaker 2: I don't know why we keep doing this.
- 4:36Speaker 3: I think it's because like the old school term of
- 4:38Speaker 3: like respect your elders. So I'm coming to ask you
- 4:41Speaker 3: for advice, Kevin. And I feel like I'm going to
- 4:43Speaker 3: regret it, but I'm going to do it anyway.
- 4:45Speaker 2: I'm just like a couple years older than you, Zach.
- 4:47Speaker 2: It's not that big of an age gap. But right
- 4:49Speaker 2: after Zara Larson.
- 4:51Speaker 5: Zach is getting some sound advice from his old pal, Kevin.
- 4:55Speaker 4: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 4:57Speaker 5: Welcome back to Kevin Mano's Advice Corner. It's 107.5 The River. Yesterday,
- 5:01Speaker 5: Ricky made the mistake, really, of coming to me for advice,
- 5:05Speaker 5: and now Zach is back for more.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I honestly am second-guessing this already, but you know what?
- 5:10Speaker 2: We're just going to go full steam ahead, Kevin. So,
- 5:13Speaker 2: here's the thing. Saturday is Halloween.
- 5:16Speaker 4: Yes, it is. Right? Right.
- 5:18Speaker 3: I am notoriously the one on the show that doesn't
- 5:21Speaker 3: really care about Halloween. Like, I'm not interested. I don't
- 5:24Speaker 3: have any Halloween costumes. And I feel like I'm, like,
- 5:27Speaker 3: stealing or not allowing myself to enjoy it. So I
- 5:30Speaker 3: was going to come to you and ask for ways to, like,
- 5:32Speaker 3: kind of get myself in the spirit. What should I
- 5:36Speaker 3: do to make myself try and enjoy Halloween?
- 5:39Speaker 2: How old are you?
- 5:42Speaker 4: Alive. Okay.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Let's just say you're around 33. 33. I'm 26.
- 5:47Speaker 4: Okay, 26.
- 5:47Speaker 5: I mean, I feel like if you didn't have a
- 5:51Speaker 5: strong attachment to Halloween as a kid, it's a little
- 5:54Speaker 5: hard later in life to get into it.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Okay, so you're saying I'm too old for Halloween now?
- 6:00Speaker 5: I'm just saying, like, I loved Halloween when I was
- 6:02Speaker 5: a kid, and then probably a few years went by
- 6:04Speaker 5: where I didn't, and now that I have kids, my
- 6:06Speaker 5: love for it has sort of resurfaced because I see
- 6:09Speaker 5: it through their eyes.
- 6:10Speaker 2: So that's a good idea. Maybe go, like, find a,
- 6:12Speaker 2: you know, like, go trick-or-treating with your nephew or something.
- 6:15Speaker 3: I thought you were going to say go find a kid,
- 6:16Speaker 3: and I was like, you want me to kidnap somebody's child?
- 6:19Speaker 2: That's not what I said.
- 6:20Speaker 5: I'm saying go celebrate Halloween with a child.
- 6:23Speaker 2: That you know. Okay, that sounds cute. A lot of
- 6:26Speaker 2: your friends have kids.
- 6:28Speaker 5: Movies, but you don't like horror movies. But I mean,
- 6:30Speaker 5: I would say watching some Halloween content would get you
- 6:34Speaker 5: in the mood.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Okay, what's the go-to Halloween movie then?
- 6:38Speaker 5: You don't like anything. I mean, I would say Halloween,
- 6:41Speaker 5: I would say Scream. If you want to go lighter,
- 6:43Speaker 5: you can go Hocus Pocus. I like Hocus Pocus. I
- 6:46Speaker 5: watched it the other night. Okay, then watch Hocus Pocus 2,
- 6:49Speaker 5: you know, lower the lighting, get a couple decorations in
- 6:52Speaker 5: the house. Like, there's a lot that goes into Halloween,
- 6:55Speaker 5: and it's all fantastic.
- 6:56Speaker 4: Okay.
- 6:57Speaker 3: I feel like the only thing that I like about
- 6:59Speaker 3: Halloween is the candy.
- 7:01Speaker 2: And get yourself some candy.
- 7:03Speaker 3: I remember as a child, because you said you fell
- 7:05Speaker 3: in love with it, my favorite part of it as
- 7:07Speaker 3: a kid is I would go to the rich neighborhoods
- 7:09Speaker 3: because they had the good candy.
- 7:10Speaker 5: I kind of told Ricky this the other day, and
- 7:12Speaker 5: she thought she would stick out. I think as a
- 7:16Speaker 5: childless grown-up yourself, there's nothing wrong with going to one
- 7:19Speaker 5: of those.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Go to Bellmead. Go to Nickel Lane. Walk around.
- 7:23Speaker 5: Nobody's going to think you're out of place. It's such
- 7:24Speaker 5: a madhouse.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Sea of people. Nobody's going to notice you. Just go
- 7:28Speaker 2: feel the vibes.
- 7:29Speaker 5: Go feel the Halloween vibes. Walk up and down the street.
- 7:31Speaker 5: You're going to love it. I promise you. I feel
- 7:33Speaker 5: like I'm going to look like a freak.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Like, who's that random old dude?
- 7:37Speaker 5: Nobody's going to care. Nobody's looking at anybody on Halloween thinking,
- 7:41Speaker 5: what are you doing here? I mean, you and David
- 7:43Speaker 5: go and, you know, people think your kids are up
- 7:45Speaker 5: there running from house to house or something.
- 7:47Speaker 4: Okay.
- 7:48Speaker 3: I think we're on to something here, Kev. I think
- 7:50Speaker 3: I like the idea of going with my nephew. I
- 7:52Speaker 3: think that's the cutest.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Do you know what he's doing? No, but I'm going
- 7:56Speaker 2: to find out now. Yeah, you should go.
- 7:57Speaker 5: Honestly, I'm not even joking. You should go do that.
- 7:59Speaker 5: It'll warm you up to the idea of Halloween.
- 8:01Speaker 2: I love Halloween.
- 8:02Speaker 3: I'm trying to get in the spirit. I'm trying to
- 8:04Speaker 3: get in the Halloween season. So I'm going to try
- 8:06Speaker 3: with my nephew.
- 8:07Speaker 5: I'm bummed that October's almost over, that this is all
- 8:10Speaker 5: almost behind us and my wife likes to tear it
- 8:12Speaker 5: all down on.
- 8:13Speaker 2: November 1st and put up the Christmas decorations. I'm so
- 8:15Speaker 2: excited for Sunday.
- 8:16Speaker 3: I already have everything pulled out of the attic for
- 8:19Speaker 3: my winter wonderland that I'm going to create.
- 8:21Speaker 2: I'm pumped for that. All right, first, really try to
- 8:24Speaker 2: slow down and enjoy Halloween, okay?
- 8:26Speaker 4: Okay.
- 8:26Speaker 2: All right, he's going to do it.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Three things you need to know.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Thank you so much for starting your Thursday morning with us.
- 8:32Speaker 2: We appreciate you. No Ricky today, but Kevin has three
- 8:35Speaker 2: things that you need to know. Thank you so much, Zach.
- 8:37Speaker 5: We just found out Jennifer Lawrence is returning. As Katniss
- 8:42Speaker 5: Everdeen in The Hunger Games. That's huge.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:45Speaker 5: She just confirmed that she, Josh Hutcherson, and Woody Harrelson
- 8:48Speaker 5: are all set to return to the franchise in the
- 8:50Speaker 5: next film. Their return in The Hunger Games' Sunrise on
- 8:53Speaker 5: the Reaping will be the first time in 11 years
- 8:56Speaker 5: that she is playing that character. There were talks that
- 8:59Speaker 5: Jennifer and Josh would be back, but Woody is really
- 9:01Speaker 5: the biggest surprise here. The Hunger Games' Sunrise on the
- 9:04Speaker 5: Reaping comes out November 20th.
- 9:07Speaker 2: That'll be here soon. This is not great news.
- 9:10Speaker 5: Victory Memorial Bridge is closing for 2027 construction.
- 9:14Speaker 2: It's going to be closed for a long time.
- 9:16Speaker 5: The Tennessee Department of Transportation plans to begin work early
- 9:19Speaker 5: next year and finish by late 2029.
- 9:23Speaker 2: That's a long time.
- 9:24Speaker 5: Crews will lower the bridge's eastern approach and rebuild James
- 9:27Speaker 5: Robertson Parkway between Interstate Drive and South First Street. Nearly 27,000
- 9:32Speaker 5: vehicles cross that bridge daily in 2025.
- 9:35Speaker 2: That's actually crazy. So it's going to be a big
- 9:38Speaker 2: inconvenience for a lot of people.
- 9:39Speaker 3: But yeah, good luck getting to the new Titan Stadium.
- 9:42Speaker 5: It'll eventually open better than ever. Quick reminder of Halloween-themed
- 9:48Speaker 5: pet hazards as we get into Halloween weekend. A lot
- 9:51Speaker 5: of pet hazards are just hiding in plain sight out there,
- 9:53Speaker 5: like candy bowls, costumes, decorations, trick-or-treaters, obviously, and then, you know, chocolate.
- 9:50Speaker 2: We'll be right back.
- 10:11Speaker 5: By the, you know, constant stream of visitors to the door,
- 10:13Speaker 5: so make sure you're keeping an eye on them. And
- 10:15Speaker 5: when it comes to pet costumes, experts say they should
- 10:17Speaker 5: never restrict an animal's vision, hearing, or breathing when they're
- 10:21Speaker 5: wearing them.
- 10:22Speaker 3: I like all of that advice because my two golden retrievers,
- 10:24Speaker 3: they lose their mind every time anybody rings the doorbell.
- 10:27Speaker 5: So, yes, make sure you're taking care of your animals. Yeah,
- 10:30Speaker 5: we would try to, like, put our dog up. stairs
- 10:35Speaker 5: and like turn the tv on real loud so he
- 10:37Speaker 5: couldn't hear anything distract him yeah and then he would
- 10:39Speaker 5: just get really anxious that he was sitting up there
- 10:41Speaker 5: by himself and then cry about that uh but good
- 10:44Speaker 5: luck to all the pets out there have a happy
- 10:45Speaker 5: halloween hopefully the rain holds off uh right after teddy
- 10:48Speaker 5: swims one of our jingle ball artists by the way
- 10:51Speaker 5: uh we are going to learn it is time for
- 10:53Speaker 5: zach's facts next on the.
- 10:54Speaker 1: River class is in session.
- 10:57Speaker 4: Zach's facts brought to you by mark spain real estate
- 11:00Speaker 4: on 107.5 the river.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Well, I got some scary news for you. Apparently, the
- 11:05Speaker 3: moon is shrinking. So as the interior cools down, it
- 11:10Speaker 3: contracts and it's getting smaller and smaller every single day.
- 11:14Speaker 2: It's kind of wild.
- 11:15Speaker 5: Okay, well, don't just be like a fear monster. monger
- 11:18Speaker 5: guy like is this something we need to worry about or.
- 11:20Speaker 3: No it's only reduced the radius by like 45 to
- 11:23Speaker 3: 50 meters over hundreds of millions of years so it's
- 11:27Speaker 3: very slowly shrinking but literally as the core loses its
- 11:31Speaker 3: heat it starts shrinking.
- 11:32Speaker 2: A little bit but nothing any of us have to
- 11:34Speaker 2: worry about not anytime soon but it's happening i mean.
- 11:37Speaker 5: Not anytime soon meaning like billions of years like we
- 11:40Speaker 5: will never see it okay All right, thank you.
- 11:44Speaker 2: There's your fact of the day. Appreciate you, Zach.
- 11:46Speaker 4: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 11:49Speaker 1: On 107.5 The River.
- 11:51Speaker 5: Zach, there was some arguing in the Mano household last night. Oh, no,
- 11:56Speaker 5: there's trouble in paradise? It's 107.5 The River. I wasn't
- 12:00Speaker 5: really involved. It was between my wife and my daughter
- 12:02Speaker 5: because my wife... bought something to pass out to trick-or-treaters
- 12:07Speaker 5: on Halloween. And your daughter got upset about it?
- 12:10Speaker 2: She does not like it at all.
- 12:12Speaker 5: She does not approve of the snack we will be
- 12:14Speaker 5: passing out to trick-or-treaters.
- 12:16Speaker 2: I'm so intrigued on what it could be. I want
- 12:18Speaker 2: to see how you feel about it.
- 12:19Speaker 5: If you were a child Halloween night and somebody threw.
- 12:21Speaker 2: This in your bag, I want to see how you
- 12:22Speaker 2: would feel about it, okay?
- 12:23Speaker 4: Okay.
- 12:23Speaker 2: I'll tell you what it is right after Sombra.
- 12:25Speaker 4: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 12:28Speaker 5: Sombra, he was at Bridgestone last night. It's 107.5 The River.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Great show.
- 12:32Speaker 5: We have a bunch of clips and stuff up on
- 12:33Speaker 5: our Instagram at 107.5 The River if you want to
- 12:36Speaker 5: go check those out. Now, Zach, I mentioned that my
- 12:39Speaker 5: wife got something to pass out to trick-or-treaters on Halloween,
- 12:43Speaker 5: and my daughter is not happy about it.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Okay, here's the thing.
- 12:47Speaker 3: This is what I'm picturing because you guys, your household
- 12:49Speaker 3: is like the epitome of health.
- 12:51Speaker 2: No sugar, nothing fun.
- 12:53Speaker 3: So did your wife get like little packages of sliced
- 12:56Speaker 3: apples to give out?
- 12:57Speaker 2: No, and that's not true.
- 13:00Speaker 5: I don't have the time to defend myself right here,
- 13:01Speaker 5: but we definitely have fun and a little bit of
- 13:03Speaker 5: sugar in my house. Popcorn balls. What is a popcorn ball?
- 13:08Speaker 5: Kind of an old school thing. It's just like a
- 13:10Speaker 5: packaged ball. It looks like a baseball, but it's just
- 13:12Speaker 5: all popcorn. Like it's my dad's favorite Halloween snack. Is
- 13:16Speaker 5: she like.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Going to break it up and give people individual kernels
- 13:19Speaker 3: of popcorn?
- 13:20Speaker 2: No, we just got a bunch of popcorn balls.
- 13:22Speaker 5: And we're going to leave them in a bowl while
- 13:24Speaker 5: we go out trick-or-treating and have a sign that says
- 13:26Speaker 5: take one popcorn ball.
- 13:27Speaker 3: I feel like you need to, you're going to have
- 13:29Speaker 3: plenty left over.
- 13:30Speaker 2: You can take them to the nursing home afterwards. So
- 13:33Speaker 2: you're not a fan of the popcorn balls. That's pretty
- 13:35Speaker 2: much the response my daughter had.
- 13:37Speaker 3: No, that is the most ridiculous thing ever.
- 13:40Speaker 2: I would be so mad if.
- 13:41Speaker 3: I went up to this house and I was like, cool,
- 13:43Speaker 3: I got a popcorn ball. I'm going to give it
- 13:46Speaker 3: to my grandma. We can swap Werther's for this. Popcorn
- 13:49Speaker 3: balls are delicious.
- 13:50Speaker 5: Don't judge them until you've tried a popcorn ball.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Says the old man. Of course they're delicious.
- 13:56Speaker 5: Let me throw a couple other things your way and
- 13:58Speaker 5: see how you would feel. If you're a kid, throwback
- 14:00Speaker 5: to when you were a kid, Halloween night, you're trick-or-treating,
- 14:02Speaker 5: going door-to-door.
- 14:03Speaker 2: What if somebody put... a yo-yo in your little bucket. Yo,
- 14:06Speaker 2: that'd be sick.
- 14:07Speaker 4: I'd be in.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Oh, you'd like a yo-yo? Yeah, that'd be cool. Because
- 14:09Speaker 2: not everything has to be candy. Not everything has to
- 14:10Speaker 2: be candy. What about a cool pencil?
- 14:13Speaker 4: No.
- 14:13Speaker 2: No, you've never heard of a pencil pen? No, I mean,
- 14:16Speaker 2: unless it's like not a sharpening pencil. Oh, like a, yeah,
- 14:20Speaker 2: a mechanical pencil. Yeah.
- 14:22Speaker 4: A dollar?
- 14:23Speaker 2: Oh, heck yeah. You'd be in for the dollar.
- 14:25Speaker 4: Yep.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Raisins? No, again, take it to the love. I'm the love.
- 14:29Speaker 5: Geriatric community. What about like a sparkling water? Like a
- 14:33Speaker 5: spin drift or something.
- 14:36Speaker 2: I feel like as a kid, no. Now, yes. Okay. 615-737-9107.
- 14:41Speaker 5: I kind of want to know what everybody else is
- 14:44Speaker 5: passing out this year.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Maybe it's something non-candy. And I hope it's better than
- 14:49Speaker 2: popcorn balls.
- 14:50Speaker 5: If you are passing out something that isn't candy, I
- 14:53Speaker 5: would love to hear what it is.
- 14:54Speaker 4: 615-737-9107. Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 14:59Speaker 1: On 107.5 The River.
- 15:01Speaker 5: Zach and I were talking about different Halloween treats and
- 15:04Speaker 5: the goodies to get, the kind.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Of non-candy stuff.
- 15:07Speaker 5: I said that we're passing out popcorn balls in my house,
- 15:10Speaker 5: and my daughter does not like that. Brittany in Murfreesboro
- 15:13Speaker 5: is on the line, and your son is in the
- 15:15Speaker 5: car with you?
- 15:16Speaker 1: Yes, I just asked him, I said, what do you
- 15:18Speaker 1: feel about popcorn balls? Because he likes popcorn a.
- 15:21Speaker 2: Lot, and he goes, I think I would prefer candy.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Told you, Kevin. But you need something to balance out
- 15:27Speaker 2: all that candy. It can't just be all candy. I
- 15:30Speaker 2: told you. I literally said this.
- 15:32Speaker 3: Kevin's house is so boring, they don't allow sugar or
- 15:35Speaker 3: anything fun.
- 15:36Speaker 2: So, of course, you're giving out popcorn balls. I think
- 15:39Speaker 2: I would prefer a popcorn ball, but at the same time,
- 15:41Speaker 2: I do rate their candy bags. There's so much candy.
- 15:45Speaker 5: I even end up bringing a lot of my kids
- 15:47Speaker 5: extra candy in for Ricky and Zach because it's just
- 15:49Speaker 5: too much candy.
- 15:50Speaker 3: Yeah, because he steals his children's candy and gives it
- 15:53Speaker 3: away so they don't eat too much.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Yeah, so they don't have a mouthful of candy.
- 15:55Speaker 1: I give some of my kids' candy away, too.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Yes, you have to.
- 15:59Speaker 5: I know a lot of places will do like a
- 16:00Speaker 5: candy buyback where it's like a dollar a pound or something.
- 16:03Speaker 2: They bring in your candy and we'll give you cash.
- 16:05Speaker 5: 100%.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Well, thank you for calling.
- 16:08Speaker 5: Tell the other kids in the car to not eat
- 16:10Speaker 5: too much candy and have a great Halloween.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Will do. Thank you.
- 16:13Speaker 5: Bye-bye.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Bye, doll.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Kevin, I want to know how you feel about this
- 16:16Speaker 3: because I have a friend that she lives in Old
- 16:19Speaker 3: Hickory area and she is setting up a temporary tattoo
- 16:22Speaker 3: booth on her front porch.
- 16:24Speaker 2: That's cool.
- 16:25Speaker 3: So instead of like candy or popcorn balls, they can
- 16:28Speaker 3: come up and get temporary tattoos.
- 16:29Speaker 2: And so it's like a whole boost that they can
- 16:31Speaker 2: come up and do. Yeah, I like the idea. It's non-candy.
- 16:34Speaker 3: You can buy a bunch off Amazon for pretty cheap.
- 16:36Speaker 3: And they don't have to go to the dentist afterwards.
- 16:38Speaker 4: Yeah, perfect.
- 16:39Speaker 2: That's clever. And I can get on board with that.
- 16:42Speaker 5: We're playing the game of the day for Steve and
- 16:43Speaker 5: Chase tickets next.
- 16:45Speaker 4: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 16:48Speaker 2: It's 107.5, the river. Ricky is out today.
- 16:50Speaker 5: It's Kevin and Zach, and it's time for Kevin Mano's
- 16:53Speaker 5: Game of the Day, presented by Genesis Diamonds.
- 16:55Speaker 2: We have Deanne and Gallatin on the line. Good morning, Deanne.
- 16:59Speaker 4: Good morning.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Good morning. You sound a little chipper this morning. I
- 17:03Speaker 2: like it.
- 17:04Speaker 3: Getting ready for Halloween at work.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Ooh.
- 17:07Speaker 2: We have decorating contests.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Costume contests, and ping pong tournament with our clients, and.
- 17:15Speaker 4: A trivia game.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Where do you work? I want to come. I work
- 17:18Speaker 2: at an addiction facility. Oh, okay. That's awesome. Well, have fun.
- 17:23Speaker 2: You're clearly a fan of Halloween. Are you a fan
- 17:25Speaker 2: of horror movies?
- 17:27Speaker 3: I hope so.
- 17:28Speaker 2: I hope so, too. You've got to get two out
- 17:29Speaker 2: of three of these questions right.
- 17:31Speaker 5: The game is called Horror for Horsies because you're playing
- 17:33Speaker 5: for steeplechase tickets.
- 17:35Speaker 2: You've got to get two out of three of them
- 17:36Speaker 2: right to get the tickets. Deanne, your game starts right now.
- 17:43Speaker 4: Art the Clown.
- 17:45Speaker 5: Is the main character in what series of slasher movies?
- 17:50Speaker 5: These have become big the last few years.
- 17:51Speaker 4: Art the Clown?
- 17:54Speaker 2: He's very terrifying.
- 17:56Speaker 4: Oh. I have no clue unless it's like Smile or something.
- 18:05Speaker 5: Oh, no, I do like those Smile movies, but no,
- 18:06Speaker 5: this one is Terrifier. I tried to give you a clue. Oh,
- 18:10Speaker 5: I see what you did there, Kat.
- 18:11Speaker 1: No.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Terrifier.
- 18:13Speaker 4: So you didn't get that one.
- 18:14Speaker 2: You're still alive, though. You got to get these next
- 18:15Speaker 2: two in order to win.
- 18:17Speaker 5: Three sisters, Sarah, Mary, and Winifred, along with their special book,
- 18:24Speaker 5: Terrorize the People of Salem, Massachusetts, in what movie?
- 18:27Speaker 2: Hocus Pocus and Hocus Pocus 2. You got it. That
- 18:31Speaker 2: was good.
- 18:32Speaker 5: You're alive. You need to get this last one in
- 18:34Speaker 5: order to win or else we are saying goodbye to you, Deanne.
- 18:37Speaker 4: Okay.
- 18:38Speaker 5: Within the last two years, Jacob Elordi and Christian Bale
- 18:41Speaker 5: have both starred in movies as what iconic horror figure?
- 18:48Speaker 2: One of the classics.
- 18:50Speaker 4: Frankenstein. Frankenstein.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Yeah, that's great. Technically, Frankenstein's a monster. You know, people
- 18:55Speaker 2: always say. A monster.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Right.
- 18:57Speaker 4: But you win.
- 18:57Speaker 2: You're going to steeplechase. Congratulations. Thank you.
- 19:00Speaker 4: You are welcome.
- 19:01Speaker 2: May 8th of 2027 at Percy Warner Park. You're going
- 19:04Speaker 2: to have the best time, DM.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Okay, thank you. Three things you need to know.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Well, happy Thursday. We are officially two days from Halloween.
- 19:14Speaker 2: How exciting. No Ricky today, but Kevin has three things
- 19:17Speaker 2: that you need to know.
- 19:18Speaker 4: I do.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Thank you, Zach.
- 19:19Speaker 5: The Jonas Brothers are bringing their Burning Up Tour all
- 19:22Speaker 5: over again to Roblox.
- 19:24Speaker 2: This is cool. This collaboration is for a special Halloween concert. Kevin, Joe, and.
- 19:29Speaker 5: Nick will perform inside the game on Saturday, this Saturday
- 19:33Speaker 5: at 10 a.m.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Local time.
- 19:34Speaker 5: This one-time only virtual show will also have a special surprise.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Don't know what that's going to be.
- 19:40Speaker 5: Fans around the world can attend by entering the game
- 19:42Speaker 5: before the show, and costumes are encouraged.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Oh, I love that. They're also going to be here
- 19:48Speaker 2: in Nashville next Thursday.
- 19:49Speaker 4: Yes, you're right. right.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Jonas Brothers are coming to town. This is great news.
- 19:52Speaker 5: The Melting Pod is planning to return to downtown Nashville.
- 19:57Speaker 2: It's been years.
- 19:57Speaker 5: The restaurant, the original location there was destroyed in the
- 20:02Speaker 5: 2020 Christmas Day bombing.
- 20:03Speaker 2: And they have been looking to bring it back.
- 20:06Speaker 5: And now it looks like it'll be back either by
- 20:08Speaker 5: the end of this year or early 2027.
- 20:10Speaker 3: I love this because it was like everybody's go-to for prom.
- 20:13Speaker 3: You would go to the melting pot before prom.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:16Speaker 2: That's so funny. Zach grew up here, so he knows
- 20:18Speaker 2: this stuff.
- 20:19Speaker 5: The new location is going to be on Dedrick Street
- 20:21Speaker 5: right across from the capital, the state capital there.
- 20:24Speaker 2: The melting pot is returning. We love it.
- 20:27Speaker 5: Lastly here, kids can go trick-or-treating at Publix on Halloween.
- 20:32Speaker 5: You know that Zach and I love grocery stores.
- 20:34Speaker 2: I do.
- 20:35Speaker 5: This is perfect. All stores in the U.S. supermarket chain
- 20:38Speaker 5: will host a free event on October 31st. That's this Saturday, obviously,
- 20:42Speaker 5: from 4 to 7 p.m.
- 20:44Speaker 2: With employees handing.
- 20:45Speaker 5: Out candy and other treats while supplies last. Kids are
- 20:48Speaker 5: encouraged to come in costume, much like the Roblox thing
- 20:50Speaker 5: with the Jonas Brothers. And children 12 and younger must
- 20:53Speaker 5: be accompanied by an adult.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Go hit up Publix for a treat while supplies last
- 20:57Speaker 2: on Saturday.
- 20:58Speaker 3: I think this is great, especially for last-minute shopping. Hey,
- 21:01Speaker 3: you're headed to a Halloween party, got to grab something,
- 21:03Speaker 3: and the kids get candy.
- 21:04Speaker 2: It's a win-win. It's a win-win. Everybody's happy.
- 21:07Speaker 5: Here's Zara Larson as we get back into the music
- 21:10Speaker 5: on this Thursday morning.
- 21:11Speaker 2: It's Lush Life on the River.
- 21:12Speaker 4: 107.5, the river. 107.5, the river.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Ricky has been out today.
- 21:17Speaker 5: It's Kevin and Zach holding things down, and it is
- 21:19Speaker 5: time for the word of the day. Zach, what are
- 21:22Speaker 5: you bringing to us today? Okay, Kevin, your word.
- 21:25Speaker 3: Today, which you have to try and tell me the
- 21:26Speaker 3: definition of, the word is caconate.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Caconate.
- 21:33Speaker 5: I think it's to do something. It is a verb.
- 21:36Speaker 5: To get something ready. Like, oh, I have to caconate my.
- 21:41Speaker 5: I've got to caconate the old broom. It's when you
- 21:46Speaker 5: clean off a broom. I'm thinking Halloween vibes, like a
- 21:49Speaker 5: witch or something, you know?
- 21:50Speaker 2: Would you like a sentence? Let's go with a sentence. Okay. Kevin,
- 21:55Speaker 2: sometimes you do make me caconate.
- 21:58Speaker 4: Is it laugh? Yeah.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Kakaday means to laugh? To laugh loudly or in an
- 22:04Speaker 2: explosive manner. Wow, we finally got one right. I am
- 22:07Speaker 2: proud that that was your first guess. I was like, oh,
- 22:11Speaker 2: I must make you laugh. Yeah, that's me being very...
- 22:13Speaker 2: It could have meant cry. Sometimes you make me cry.
- 22:15Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Do I really make you cry? Have I
- 22:17Speaker 2: ever made you cry? No, not yet. Is there a
- 22:19Speaker 2: word for cleaning off your broom? Can we look into
- 22:21Speaker 2: that real quick?
- 22:23Speaker 4: Yes, there is.
- 22:24Speaker 3: According to Google AI Overview, is decontaminating or.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Ex-per-cating.
- 22:30Speaker 5: Okay, I mean, that sounds decontaminating. It sounds like cleaning anything,
- 22:34Speaker 5: not necessarily the room.
- 22:35Speaker 4: Okay.
- 22:35Speaker 5: So ex-per-cating. Let's go with ex-per-cating. Two words of the
- 22:38Speaker 5: day today. What a time to be alive.
- 22:41Speaker 4: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning. On 107.5 The River.
