- 0:12Of the daily BJJJ. What's the daily BJ?
- 0:19The Daily BJ could be whatever you want it to be.
- 0:22It's a lifestyle. It's a lifestyle, it's a
- 0:24mentality. Yeah, it's me.
- 0:27It's you. And sometimes there's a third.
- 0:30I mean, if there's a third, it was all consensual, we swear.
- 0:35Wait guys can I get a daily BJ too?
- 0:41Yeah, first of all, I'm married. Yes, only because you asked so
- 0:44nicely. I'm married so.
- 0:47For the viewers out there, I'm batting my eyes.
- 0:50Hey guys, we have a special guest today.
- 0:52Wait, that wasn't you, Brian. No, I, I, as much as I've been
- 0:55practicing my like throwing my voice, no, that was not me.
- 0:58Ladies and gentlemen, we are joined with a very special guest
- 1:00today, joining us here at BJ Studios in California.
- 1:10Helps the aliens talking again. They're back.
- 1:12They're back. I would like to give a warm
- 1:16welcome to the not only the love of my life, she's my financial
- 1:23advisor, my legal advisor, a professional smart reader, and
- 1:30the reason I wake up every morning literally because my
- 1:33alarm goes off and she's like, turn that shit off.
- 1:35So please give a warm welcome to Duarte.
- 1:40Hello. Oh shit, who is this man?
- 1:48Hi friends. Hello, welcome to Set to the
- 1:50podcast. Welcome to the Daily VJ.
- 1:52Thank you for asking me to be here.
- 1:53Literally three hours ago. Listen, if we ever, I mean we
- 1:58will continue with more guests, but it will also be at short
- 2:01notice. Well, we have nothing better to
- 2:03do. On a on a Thursday morning.
- 2:07Did she turn in all the paperwork?
- 2:08I you were in charge of the paperwork, Jerry, you drafted
- 2:11and provided her the. Did you turn him into my
- 2:14secretary contract? I am your secretary, so yes.
- 2:17Perfect. OK.
- 2:18We're solid. Did you verify with her ID?
- 2:22Yes. Andrew Social might you want my
- 2:24fingerprints? Oh, I already have those.
- 2:26Oh, he wants you to put. Them in your sleep and and
- 2:28those. OK, so how was your guys this
- 2:32week? Jerry?
- 2:34It's been a couple days since I've seen you.
- 2:35No. No, no, I I can't with such a
- 2:38pretty lady in front of me. Please.
- 2:40I insist. Brian.
- 2:41What? I'm just kidding.
- 2:43Go. I want.
- 2:43I want of course. What's new?
- 2:50Nothing much you know. As always, been reading a lot.
- 2:52Good. Yeah, went to go watch
- 2:54Thunderbolts this weekend. Oh, I heard.
- 2:56Yeah, it. Was it was good?
- 2:58It was. True.
- 2:58Really only good I heard it was great.
- 3:00I I liked it and it's a good setup movie.
- 3:03Like I'm excited for what's to come in the Marvel Universe
- 3:06because I feel like I haven't been like excited for Marvel
- 3:10since either Spider Man or like the OG Avengers so.
- 3:13I agree, yeah, I've been kind of checked out of that franchise.
- 3:16But it was lovely seeing Bucky. He's in it.
- 3:20Winter Soldier. I don't think I've seen a single
- 3:22trailer for this movie. He's.
- 3:23Soldiering away in that movie. He took off his jacket and all I
- 3:26heard was hot. And then I coughed and I said,
- 3:28what you. Know what I'm saying?
- 3:31It wasn't the man to to the right of you.
- 3:33No, no, it was her. It only hurt.
- 3:37OK, I'll have to add that to to my watch list.
- 3:40You Jerry, let's new with you. What did I do?
- 3:43I, I actually, I didn't go watch Thunderbolt, so I don't know who
- 3:47you went with. Other Jerry.
- 3:49Oh no. Other Jerry, that was.
- 3:51Jerry with AG with AG. Oh, I'm actually drinking out of
- 3:54the mug with AG right now, so. Today he's he goes by his legal
- 3:57name. Get out of.
- 3:58The Gerardo. And no, don't see Gerardo from
- 4:02invaders him. Yes, I take it back.
- 4:03No, you have to say it like how we went when we went to the UK
- 4:06and Gerard, the the yeah, TSA guy, Gerard.
- 4:10Gerard, I'm like. Gerard, you your white person
- 4:12name is. Rob, first of all stop with a
- 4:14fake accent. Second of all, it's get out of
- 4:16the. Please pronounce it correct.
- 4:18I think they get paid to put on that accent.
- 4:19Yeah, for sure, for sure. I think the whole no, I won't, I
- 4:23won't get into it, the. UK isn't real.
- 4:26That's that's another episode we saw Thunderbolts.
- 4:29I also agree, it was, it was a really good movie, better than
- 4:32like the last Captain America movie, a good set up for what's
- 4:36to come. And yeah, I mean, it's a solid
- 4:40film, a solid movie. I liked it.
- 4:42Besides that. We chilled.
- 4:43I mean, we had a really nice like, weekend to ourselves.
- 4:46We watched a lot of How I Met Your Mother.
- 4:47We're almost done with it. That's it, yeah.
- 4:51You all hung out with me, hung out with Melissa.
- 4:54Weekend. Week, I said.
- 4:56Week. I said week, roll the tape back.
- 4:58I said how was your week? So anyways, last Tuesday,
- 5:03Tuesday to Wednesday, it was a weekday.
- 5:06Was it not Friday? No, it was a weekday.
- 5:08It was a weekday and I was like lol, we're gonna drink on a
- 5:11weekday. It was not last Thursday.
- 5:14Last Thursday we did DND. Wednesday we did DND Wednesday.
- 5:18We did. We did.
- 5:19Look at Brian gaslighting. We wanna.
- 5:21Fight you. Okay, okay, a lot happened.
- 5:24We did have D&D on Wednesday because I got roped into a last
- 5:28minute work thing, which honestly ended up being pretty
- 5:31fun. But after that we had a viewing
- 5:32party for Lady Gagas Copa Cabana Show Brazil.
- 5:38Incredible. I think, OK, this is going to be
- 5:40the Gaga section of the podcast. I was hearing rumors the streets
- 5:44are saying that they're her team is trying her best to
- 5:48differentiate this little like festival kind of run from the
- 5:53actual Mayhem Ball. So.
- 5:57So saying that, it's not going to be the.
- 5:58Same. Yes, that once, because where is
- 6:00she at right now in the well? She was Singapore.
- 6:03Singapore, that after this run of shows that once she actually
- 6:07starts an actual tour here in the US, that it their chances
- 6:11are it's different because it's going to be, it's not.
- 6:13They're not huge stadiums and her show right now, her current
- 6:17show is like 4 big stadiums. That's true.
- 6:19So I don't know, it might be different.
- 6:20If we catch wind, you might see me there.
- 6:23Yeah, it was a different show. So what?
- 6:25You're saying is we're going. I don't.
- 6:26Know people already been whispering in my ear.
- 6:28Anthony the other day said, oh, she comes.
- 6:31I'm like, oh, she's going to come like, oh, I want to see
- 6:33her. So I don't know, might go.
- 6:36Anyways, we did that Thursday. Jerry made us some mojitos
- 6:38because he's a, he's a, a struggling, not struggling,
- 6:43aspiring and struggling. He's a struggling.
- 6:46He's like a starved artist, you know, giving it all for his
- 6:49craft. Trying his best took him. 30
- 6:51minutes to make 3 mojitos. Yeah, which?
- 6:53Is why we did not tip him and. And the taste?
- 6:56It was great the. Savvy one was better.
- 6:58Thank you. Yeah.
- 6:59Which means I'm only getting better, yeah.
- 7:01You're so right, I. I heard something today that.
- 7:06Said it was this person on TikTok and they teach you how to
- 7:10like do dragon stuff and like how to serve cunt and she's like
- 7:12I got a masters is it? Bernie.
- 7:15Yes, I love Miss Bernie. She is the master today.
- 7:19She said a skill is just something that you have not
- 7:23learned yet. And I'm like, damn, you're
- 7:25right. I love her so.
- 7:27Your mixology skill is you're levelling up.
- 7:31You're like a little simp, just practicing over and over.
- 7:33Level 1, someone's controlling me.
- 7:35Yeah, the universe even controlling.
- 7:36My I saw a. Simulation.
- 7:37Yeah, even infected by a virus. Can we talk about Drag Race real
- 7:41quick? Yeah, go ahead.
- 7:42You've been keeping up with All Stars?
- 7:43Yes, Irene Spoiler. Spoiler warning just in case.
- 7:46Spoiler. Warning Irene.
- 7:48Front. Runner killing it?
- 7:49Yeah. First out to front runner.
- 7:50It was a fluke. Her season was a fluke.
- 7:52Like it was just she it. Was just one bad the badge that
- 7:54didn't land. Yeah, one joke that didn't land
- 7:56exactly, but. Her talent was, I knew it.
- 7:58She was very witty in her in her season.
- 8:00What was it two seasons ago? I don't watch the main seasons
- 8:04to be honest. It was.
- 8:04Like Four Seasons ago. Oh damn.
- 8:07We don't have what is it? Wow.
- 8:09We don't have wow, it's on different.
- 8:10Apps, it's on Paramount, it's on Hulu, it's it's everywhere.
- 8:14Not on Paramount. Oh no, we have all.
- 8:16Stars on Paramount, but not it's on Peacock.
- 8:19There you go. Yeah, we don't have Peacock.
- 8:20She's great. And Bosco I.
- 8:22Love Bosco Bosco's I. Can't stop staring at her
- 8:26titties there. Who's her doctor?
- 8:29Crafted by the gods, yeah. Perfect.
- 8:32Yeah, I'm invested. I'm having a lot of fun this
- 8:34season. Yeah, the last Friday's episode,
- 8:37the last like 20 minutes, had me stressed out with the whole,
- 8:41like, most valuable queen points and right.
- 8:44On stage. On Yeah.
- 8:47So good. Looking forward to more.
- 8:48Yeah, I. Am too and then root dropping
- 8:50the oh this might not be your last chance one of you might
- 8:54come back that's I'm excited I'm.
- 8:56Glad we're actually keeping up. It's always All Stars though.
- 8:58We always see All Stars like they're everywhere.
- 9:01I. Surprisingly have not been
- 9:03getting alien content like I've been saying out loud for my
- 9:06phone to pick up. I've been getting a lot of
- 9:08supernatural content. You.
- 9:09Too, I've been getting a lot of like videos like recording video
- 9:13footage from home and stuff send.
- 9:14That to me, why haven't you? Because.
- 9:16I don't watch them, I get scared.
- 9:17Oh. Yeah, yeah.
- 9:19You know what I've been having a lot of content of just like,
- 9:23just like spooky things. Did you see the that Madame
- 9:26Laveau's house caught on fire randomly?
- 9:29Oh. The plantation you mean, not?
- 9:31The plantation, yes, the plantation caught on fire that.
- 9:34Was right after they transferred Annabelle, by the way, to
- 9:36Louisiana. That was right after they
- 9:39transferred the Annabelle doll. It's all.
- 9:40Connected. Why?
- 9:41Is it on tour? Why are why are they moving this
- 9:43doll which was strictly told, not strict instructions to not
- 9:46move the freaking doll all? I know is if that doll is
- 9:48responsible for burning down the last plantation.
- 9:52Honestly. Annie, Annie are you OK cuz
- 9:56you're eating? But no Madame Laveau.
- 10:00I guess there's she has a shop in like New Orleans somewhere.
- 10:04I did not Fact Check any of this.
- 10:06I could be lying but I don't think I am.
- 10:08She had a store or a shop that's still fine.
- 10:10But like the actual house that she lived in like caught on
- 10:14fire. I saw that on TikTok today but I
- 10:17don't know it's all connected somehow.
- 10:19I. Do I have seen skits where like,
- 10:21like, like paranormal museums and stuff, workers are like, oh,
- 10:24hey, we're bringing the doll. And then they're like, no, we're
- 10:28not. And like, yeah, we're gonna have
- 10:29to make space for it. It was a skit, so this could be
- 10:31fake. Also trust my source, it's
- 10:33TikTok. But also, but maybe the dolls.
- 10:35Yeah, Annabelle included Annabelle.
- 10:37Included. But then, yeah, she was like, I
- 10:40quit and she's like, you got to be kidding.
- 10:41She's like, Nope, Bye. Yeah.
- 10:44Like no. Wow.
- 10:45They said it's open for me. We're.
- 10:47Catching. Up.
- 10:53Lamonda well. What are we here for, Brian?
- 10:58Why are you here? You brought.
- 11:00Lucy here for a very specific reason.
- 11:02Do tell. She is our resident.
- 11:06A little bookworm, little a little smut worm.
- 11:11That's a great thing. She's been reading some spicy
- 11:14material that she has been telling us all about.
- 11:17Granted we've been reading it together, some of it we've been
- 11:19reading it together. But miss Home Girls and over it
- 11:21cheaper she's reading like 3 to 4 books at once.
- 11:26No lies were told. Nope.
- 11:29The tandem read she's been catching me up on.
- 11:32Oh yeah, it's crazy. Yeah, Jerry's been reading
- 11:34through Osmosis. Not these I know like the the
- 11:38main points the main points. But like besides ACOTAR, no
- 11:42everything else is just osmosis like absorbing main main parts.
- 11:46I know where the climax happened.
- 11:48I know who's dead. Who's he knows?
- 11:50He knows. I know all the climaxes.
- 11:52Climaxes. She reads it to him out loud.
- 11:55She's probably like, babe, come over here, let me read you some.
- 11:57Listen. Listen Linda, fellas, just have
- 12:03your partner read it to you. Yeah, I mean it works perfectly
- 12:06since you never learn how to read.
- 12:07Recommend 10 out of 10 that's. That's really funny because I do
- 12:11see like TikTok videos that girls make of like their their
- 12:15boyfriends or their husbands and how the boyfriends are like how
- 12:19they're really like yes, keep reading.
- 12:21Keep doing what you're doing girl, because and then there's
- 12:23always like those single men haters that make their own
- 12:26videos and they're like, oh, these girls are reading trash
- 12:29what they're doing. They.
- 12:30Don't get haters, they don't get it 'cause this is for the girls.
- 12:35This is for the girls. Those are the.
- 12:36Dudes that like have their search history completely wiped.
- 12:41You're right. They're on their list.
- 12:42They're literally on the list somewhere.
- 12:44Yeah, no. So my beautiful amazing Co host
- 12:48Jerry has drafted a list of some questions to ask Dulce that she
- 12:53would be so kind to answer and enlighten us.
- 12:57And we will chip in too because I'm no stranger to to sweaty
- 13:01material. No, you're not.
- 13:03You're not disturbed? Yeah.
- 13:04This is very much an episode for you as well, Brian, so I need
- 13:08your take your input. Feel free to I.
- 13:11Know I will. I have to come in anytime.
- 13:15Come in anytime you ask. I've.
- 13:19Been waiting for this moment. OK, well then you're in charge
- 13:22of reading the questions. Wow.
- 13:23Why me? Cuz you're the mastermind.
- 13:26You have the mind of a mastermind, the mind of a
- 13:29master. Big head.
- 13:30He's called me. Big head.
- 13:31What? Megamind.
- 13:33Megamind, I don't know, you're blue.
- 13:36Well, you saw the questions as well, so you've been briefed.
- 13:40This is the first time you're hearing these dulces, so you.
- 13:43Didn't send it to her, to her with the form.
- 13:45I didn't. OK, I'm just kidding.
- 13:48I'm sorry. I didn't have.
- 13:48You didn't. Know that I'm sorry.
- 13:50I didn't have more hope in you. That's not me, OK?
- 13:52Well, this question is for both of you, but please do you.
- 13:55Feel like we're on a game show right now.
- 13:57How many points do I get per question?
- 13:59It depends. How you answer?
- 14:02Oh, the. Spicier the better.
- 14:04Your first question, I'm not gonna see, I'm not gonna say the
- 14:09wheel of what is it wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy tune because
- 14:11we will get. Copyright.
- 14:14So what was the first spicy book that made you blush or hooked
- 14:19you completely? Jeez.
- 14:22OK, I'm like trying to think back, think back to my young
- 14:26mind, you know, I feel like by the.
- 14:28Way. You're so beautiful.
- 14:31Anyways, my. Goal is to make Brian as
- 14:32uncomfortable as possible. Taking advantage that we're in
- 14:36an enclosed space together. I have a feeling this whole
- 14:38episode is going to be a giant. Hear me out by the way.
- 14:42But I think just like because I was so little, I was probably
- 14:45like middle school aged at this time.
- 14:49I didn't really know what like Spice was or what like.
- 14:51I feel like our interpretations when we're younger I'm.
- 14:53Hoping I have it in my mind what you're going to say because.
- 14:56Maybe, maybe not mine. Was this book I.
- 14:58Wore this shirt for a reason though it was Twilight it was.
- 15:01That's what I was going to say. Breaking Dawn.
- 15:03It was twilight, probably. Breaking Dawn, Yes.
- 15:06Like they break the bed around. That time I was reading that and
- 15:09I remember. Like no business.
- 15:11I remember at that time I knew what page numbers they were on.
- 15:14Oh yeah. Like this is young me here
- 15:17knowing what page she has. Not changed the flip.
- 15:19She has literally not changed. I've only gotten worse.
- 15:24She's putting sticky notes, and let me tell you, those notes
- 15:26weren't sticky to begin with. Dude, the amount of things
- 15:29sticking out of her books. Sticking notes.
- 15:32Post it. Post it but for.
- 15:34Sure, Twilight. What do you think?
- 15:35Brian I. Was also going to say Twilight.
- 15:36I was in 6th grade reading those books at the recommendation of
- 15:40my teacher. Oh.
- 15:41She didn't know what she was. No, no, she was like the epitome
- 15:45of like mom fangirl of these of the series, and she got the
- 15:51entire the girdlies were all reading this, plus me because
- 15:56yeah, work. And she started her own book
- 15:57club and. Then she was kind of hesitant
- 15:59about us reading the the last one but she was like oh I mean
- 16:04OK if you want to do not need to know about no beds being cracked
- 16:09in half. Them going at it like animals in
- 16:12my poor mind. Wow, wow, wow.
- 16:16And honestly very very tame compared to very.
- 16:19Tame. What adult fiction is, Yeah.
- 16:21It's I would consider probably why like young adults, yes.
- 16:25I did not read adult fiction until last year.
- 16:27I was not aware of the world that was out there.
- 16:30Well, for a long time, and I think I've told the like book
- 16:33group Gurlies this too. Shout out book up Gurlies turn.
- 16:35Pages make some noise. This is the.
- 16:37Second time we shout out the term Yeah, we have to.
- 16:40Owe us more dollars. But I think I've mentioned this
- 16:44before that I stopped reading for pleasure for a long time
- 16:48because of college. Like college did it for me.
- 16:51And so I was just like focused on academic literature or
- 16:54academic writing and whatnot. And I didn't read and literally
- 16:59because of book club and shout out Melissa, because of book
- 17:02club, I like delved into books again.
- 17:04And here I am. And it's cool because Jerry's
- 17:06known me, what, 11 years now? And he's never seen bookworm
- 17:11Dorset and. You unlocked a new.
- 17:14A A new achievement skin. A new skin.
- 17:17A new skin. We got a bookshelf not too long
- 17:19ago 'cause we had a really small ones, but we have one of those
- 17:22really cool ones from World Market.
- 17:24Super awesome find that you found.
- 17:26Actually, it's filled 90% of those, 9099% of those are her
- 17:32books, which she's probably read by now.
- 17:35It's a big bookshelf. Like I think it's taller than I
- 17:37am and I'm six feet. You need.
- 17:39A second bookshelf. It's like. 6-2, maybe 6-3 now
- 17:41the the bookshelf now as it's growing as if it's growing tall.
- 17:45It's like a six foot 3 bookshelf.
- 17:47It's pretty big and it's it's packed.
- 17:50I have my PlayStation on there and I have like not.
- 17:52For logs, yeah, yeah. I make you move it.
- 17:54Evicted. She's.
- 17:55Going to move it into the friggin fireplace.
- 17:58As in burn it. She's going to burn my PSI.
- 18:00I need more room for my books. My books.
- 18:03She's. The biggest bookworm I know,
- 18:05which is pretty fitting because if I'm the bird guy, she's the
- 18:08bookworm I. Don't want to know what that
- 18:12makes you together. EW, I get it.
- 18:15I get it. I got it a little late too.
- 18:19EW, early bird gets the worm. Thank.
- 18:21You. Thank you.
- 18:25Sorry if you're uncomfortable listening.
- 18:26To this at home, apologize to. Me.
- 18:28I want you to apologize directly to me.
- 18:31I'm sorry, Brian, move on. To your next question.
- 18:33Next question, what's your spice scale and what earns a Book 5
- 18:40chili pepper rating in your opinion?
- 18:43OK, we did this for. One of our book clubs, I think.
- 18:45We did do this because we had a whole presentation book club
- 18:49where we all read a book and we got to rate it.
- 18:53So for me personally, 'cause I, I know everybody's opinion
- 18:58differentiates but mine, I think for me it's all about the
- 19:01descriptions. Like I wanna know what's going
- 19:03and where. And if, if we know if we have
- 19:06those descriptions, then that's higher rating.
- 19:09That's more more Chili Peppers. So your chili pepper rating is
- 19:13like 5 out of five? Like what?
- 19:16Like I. Think A5 out of five is like
- 19:18it's. You like, add like, yeah, yeah,
- 19:20this is me. This is me.
- 19:20Not as a like. Oh, this is the spiciest thing
- 19:23I've ever read. No.
- 19:24Oh, OK. It's like that.
- 19:26I understand. I understand you.
- 19:27Get it like this is just my like how I will rate 5 stars.
- 19:30OK. I think if it's descriptive,
- 19:34meaning we know what what's happening in detail and if it's
- 19:38creative because because I think creativity for me is like, oh,
- 19:42something is happening that I've never imagined in my life before
- 19:45or I didn't know was possible or like that type of thing to me is
- 19:48like, Oh, that's up there because that's and that's the
- 19:52beauty of art and literature is like things are happening that
- 19:55one would never imagine. OK, So I think that for me is is
- 19:58a higher rating and obviously like kinkiness if there's things
- 20:01in there that are a little a little dabbling in like the
- 20:05unknown or the. What's it called?
- 20:08The taboo. Taboo.
- 20:10That's a good word, brain. Then that's a higher.
- 20:12Higher rating, that's what. I was going to say well makes it
- 20:14a like a 5 out of five. Chili pepper is something one
- 20:18I've never considered did not know existed and it makes me
- 20:23question some things Interesting.
- 20:25But I get what you mean about the the the describing things.
- 20:30If you present me something like that I'm familiar with, but you
- 20:34painted in such a pretty picture where it makes me romanticize
- 20:37it. I was thinking about that on the
- 20:39way home today. I was like damn they the way
- 20:42they describe it seems better than it is in actuality.
- 20:47You know, we're reading things through a female gaze most of
- 20:49the time, too. We have to acknowledge true
- 20:52these things are gonna be artsier and then like they're.
- 20:55Written from yeah yeah, a woman is writing these I.
- 20:58Can't compete with these male men or male characters.
- 21:01Oh. I know, however, the way they're
- 21:03described, I am. Taking notes out of their
- 21:05playbook. I would hope you are because if
- 21:08I was a woman and had a male partner I would be like read
- 21:12this take notes come back to me later page we're meeting in an
- 21:17hour. Absorb.
- 21:17But you can't. Study up, buddy.
- 21:20Yep, exactly and. Study I have.
- 21:25Next question. Next question.
- 21:28Why? Arranging.
- 21:29So hard at Jerry's faces. What's wrong with my face?
- 21:33I. Love thinking of even Vicky guy
- 21:34contact with bees. Vicky No.
- 21:38My leg is shaking. I have that effect.
- 21:42Question #4 Are there any spicy book tropes you love or hate?
- 21:48Yes. OK I love myself a book trope I
- 21:54really do but it has to be done right And I think for me one
- 21:58trope that I don't like and this isn't honestly even in just in
- 22:01books this can be like in TV shows too is like the
- 22:04misunderstanding trope. Like there there's a big
- 22:08misunderstanding between the the 2 character or the the main
- 22:11character love interests where either they, there's like a
- 22:14miscommunication with somebody else where there's like a third
- 22:18party that says something and they're like what?
- 22:20Oh no. And then they've run away or
- 22:22like something happened. I'm like, oh, it's, it annoys me
- 22:25so much because I think it's lazy.
- 22:27Just. Talk to it's.
- 22:28Just talk to each other. Just talk.
- 22:30To. Each other it's.
- 22:31The author trying to torture their reader.
- 22:33Yeah, it really feels that way. It feels like it's a.
- 22:35Lazy thing to do. Sorry I cut you off, Frank.
- 22:37No, go ahead. So it's more of a lazy thing in
- 22:39your eyes? Yes.
- 22:40But also it's it screams to me immature or like it screams to
- 22:44me childish and it's giving like high school teenage drama as
- 22:49opposed to conflict in a romance which.
- 22:52Is why I feel like I see it the most in YA books.
- 22:57Wow. Like one of the books I read
- 22:58recently, The Sun Bear Chronicles, that's a big thing
- 23:04like feeling one thing but it gets they say something and it's
- 23:09misread and it just adds another 4 chapters of like they don't
- 23:14like each other I see when like literally the chapter before
- 23:17they were this close to like kissing or something.
- 23:19I do see it in some of the more mild contemporary romances.
- 23:24Like I I I even remember one of the Emily Henry books that I've
- 23:27read. Like, yeah, there it very much
- 23:30gives that like at the end of the book and then literally it's
- 23:32just like, oh, they're over it. And then the end, they're
- 23:35happily ever after and I hate it.
- 23:38No, I agree. It's unsatisfied.
- 23:39It's. Kind of lazy.
- 23:40I mean I've never written a book.
- 23:42I am so sorry. I don't want to offend any
- 23:43authors reading this, but as a reader looking at it, it's
- 23:47giving you're running out of plot devices to add tension.
- 23:52Yes. Wow.
- 23:56How many points have we gotten so far?
- 23:58You're at Brian's at six. You're at 9:00.
- 24:00Wait, I want to talk about my favorite trope.
- 24:03Oh, yes, thank you my. Favorite trope which is so
- 24:06generic but I freaking love is enemies to lover festy I.
- 24:11Had your nose used? To love her, it's just it gives
- 24:14it a sense of passion. Like, you know from the start
- 24:16that there is a level of like there's just fiery tension.
- 24:20And when you play that into like, oh, I hate you to oh,
- 24:25wait, why are we in this kind of fine space?
- 24:26Oh, I hate you. And then I start making out
- 24:28when. The rage turns into passion.
- 24:30Exactly, I love it. You know what?
- 24:32I see your hand and I'm gonna raise you a little bit.
- 24:34Oh, OK. Enemies to lovers mixed in with
- 24:37another trope, like enemies to lovers, fated mates or enemies
- 24:41to lovers. And also, Oh my God, like that,
- 24:43that type of thing. Cassie and Nesta.
- 24:45Oof, yes. Beautiful.
- 24:47Yes. There's also like 4th Wing 10
- 24:50out of 10 like they are literally like enemy like their
- 24:54their family lines are enemies. Oh, very.
- 24:57RJ, you. Know it's yes it's giving it's
- 24:59giving like I hate you I hate you before I even met you that
- 25:05that 10 out of 10 I. Was.
- 25:08Like so many people love that book, Yes.
- 25:10We do. Amazing 10 points for
- 25:12Gryffindor. Wait, who's Gryffindor?
- 25:14I think Brian is Gryffindor. What are your houses?
- 25:18I'm giving a rape. Rape.
- 25:18I'm giving hopeful, I suppose. I'm giving muggle in the alley.
- 25:28What's What's the rap? Jerry's name?
- 25:30Owl. Jerry's giving owl.
- 25:32Messenger owl giving. Hedwig, man, this is your
- 25:34episode. I'm just, I'm just, you're
- 25:36commentating. I'm just you're moderating.
- 25:39Who? Who?
- 25:40Yeah, that's. Really funny you say that
- 25:42because the other day someone was talking about you who was
- 25:46talking about me. That was such a good a giggle.
- 25:54It was. Pause for dramatic fact I.
- 25:59Don't know, they just said you sound like an owl.
- 26:00Who? Who?
- 26:03Who Thanks. Thank you.
- 26:08That was good. You're welcome in the.
- 26:10Original thought ever I heard that from TikTok?
- 26:14Thank you for sharing. That was a lovely answer you
- 26:15both. Thank you so much.
- 26:16You're welcome, I skipped a question, I'll come back to it
- 26:19at the end. Have you ever read a scene so
- 26:22spicy it made you stop reading in public?
- 26:27Many. Why don't you take this one
- 26:30first? So recently for book club we
- 26:34started reading Crescent City and this is the first time I've
- 26:38done audiobook completely as opposed to just reading not.
- 26:41Just any audiobook ohh. Graphic Audio, I'm never gonna
- 26:44do a regular born no audiobook. I need voice actors, I need
- 26:48sound effects, I need the full production.
- 26:53What I did prior when reading a guitar is I have it on my
- 26:56Kindle, which is amazing. No one knows what you're reading
- 26:58on a Kindle 'cause it's just a page.
- 27:00I'm not there with like the book.
- 27:02And people can be like, well, what is that?
- 27:03And find out, yeah, 'cause downtown at work, I'm reading
- 27:07downtime at work. I was listening.
- 27:09And then I, I, you, you sense it coming.
- 27:13You know exactly what's coming. That point I have to hit pause.
- 27:17This is for outside of the workplace.
- 27:19This is for on the way home. Very.
- 27:20Professional Brian, good for you.
- 27:22There was. Many, many scenes.
- 27:24Many, many scenes. I'm sure there was a lot of
- 27:27Acatar scenes. We actually I heard one that
- 27:29played by accident when we got into the car and auto connected.
- 27:32Oh my God, yes to the radio. Autoplay.
- 27:35Autoplay. That was my first experience to
- 27:37to Graphic Audio. Silver flames, right?
- 27:39It's. Considerable.
- 27:40Considerable length. Considerable.
- 27:42Length unable to wrap my my hands around it.
- 27:46Crazy it's giving. Coffee can.
- 27:48It's coffee. Coffee.
- 27:50It's giving Hydro Flask. Hydro Flask the. 32 ounce let's.
- 27:54Just serve 82 ounces. Wow.
- 27:57Wow, Well, yes, I have to. And you know what?
- 28:01I actually was listening to a book on my way to work.
- 28:08Take it this. No, I'm getting off the freeway
- 28:10on a light and it was this book. Actually, in my defense, this
- 28:15book was recommended to me by a worker at Barnes and Noble.
- 28:19Shout out Norma from Barnes and Noble for Fullerton because she
- 28:23we we were having a whole conversation.
- 28:25I don't know if it was because she saw us pick up like a fourth
- 28:29wing book. I, I was with Paula.
- 28:30Shut up, Paula. And we were at Barnes and Noble
- 28:34and this lady comes up to us and we start talking about fourth
- 28:37wing and we start talking about how we're excited for the next
- 28:38book and, and then Acatar and we're just all bonding over
- 28:41books. And then she's like, we, I think
- 28:45we ask her like, what are your recommendations?
- 28:47You know, like now you know our vibe.
- 28:48And she's like, well, I usually don't recommend this to
- 28:50everybody, but you guys seem cool.
- 28:51So she saw something, and she she saw the light in the she saw
- 28:57the lust. In the eyes.
- 28:59And she recommended, it's called Lights Out, and it's, I forget
- 29:04the author's name, Naveessa something.
- 29:07And so I was like, you know what?
- 29:09I'm gonna I'm gonna get the audio book and just like play
- 29:11it. It sounds fun.
- 29:12And she even said like the oh, the audio book is good.
- 29:14Like you should listen. And I was like, OK, cool.
- 29:16This will be my driving to and from workbook.
- 29:19No, ma'am. This.
- 29:21Was I think out of the all the books I've read this was by far
- 29:24the spiciest book and I was I realized this on my way to work.
- 29:29Take it 8:00 in the morning reading, listening to smut on
- 29:32the way to work 8:00 in the morning at the red light.
- 29:34Best way to? Start your day.
- 29:35And it woke me up, that's for sure.
- 29:37And there was a scene that I like, had to cover my mouth
- 29:42because I was scared that the people next to me were gonna see
- 29:45and think I was having like a panic attack or something.
- 29:48I was, I couldn't like, I couldn't I, I had to put pause
- 29:53because, and I came back to it later.
- 29:55I finished it. The book, the book was great,
- 29:57but there was a scene. Yeah, if, if I feel like if you
- 30:01know, you know, there was a scene where something went in
- 30:04something else that wasn't supposed to, right.
- 30:06That's about the stalker criminal.
- 30:08It's. About a stalker and a nurse.
- 30:10A nurse and a stalker? Yes it is, and let me tell you,
- 30:16it's just well written. Very descriptive.
- 30:19Very descriptive, very creative. When?
- 30:21I get to those parts and I'm like, I'm driving and I'm at a
- 30:25stoplight. I will turn down the volume
- 30:27until it's barely audible to me because I'm like, no, I these
- 30:31people can't know. My car is not tinted.
- 30:33My windows are. I'm in a fishbowl and they're
- 30:36gonna see every reaction and. They're gonna know I'm just
- 30:39gonna be there. Straight faced red cheek.
- 30:41Belt, have you? Ever.
- 30:43Have you ever heard like when someone's talking on like on
- 30:45their like Apple? Yes, it's clear it day you can.
- 30:49Hear on the outside, it's like echoed from the outside
- 30:53perimeter. There's like a little, yeah.
- 30:55Honestly it sounds louder outside the car.
- 30:57Exactly. Yeah, sometimes it does.
- 30:58I'm like I can hear the whole conversation.
- 31:00Jail. I can hear, I can hear the the
- 31:02velvet sheathed metal. Lock him up, officers, lock him
- 31:07up. Take me in.
- 31:10OK, wow. Any last thoughts for that last
- 31:12question? We both admitted to things,
- 31:14apparently. How many points did that get us?
- 31:17Brian 9. Dunte 60.
- 31:23You lost points. Oh, I.
- 31:24Lost points, damn it got a good descriptive.
- 31:27All right. So we're currently at a
- 31:31stalemate with 57 points each. Oh that was quick map.
- 31:36OK, next question, are there any scenes you'd label as legendary
- 31:41or unhinged? Which one is it?
- 31:45OK, I don't I won't give you an unhinged one.
- 31:47There's this one book series I read that I don't really want to
- 31:50talk about because it was like jaw droppingly like it's one of
- 31:54those books that like had trigger warnings at the front
- 31:56where it was like this has a has a well, I don't it was a.
- 32:01It. Was a It was a tough read to to
- 32:03in some parts it was a very tough read.
- 32:05But legendary is the scene in one of the a guitar books where
- 32:13they're at the cabin and there's a table and a ball.
- 32:18There's a feast. There is a feast and a ball.
- 32:21There's a Thanksgiving dinner. Wait, was.
- 32:23That the big reveal. The big reveal.
- 32:27There's lots of big reveals. There was paint involved, there
- 32:31was OK, OK, frames falling off the wall.
- 32:33I believe so. You're talking about Aquamath
- 32:36chapter 55. What page number page I don't.
- 32:40Know the page. I wish I did.
- 32:42Chapter 55. 369. Yeah, famous.
- 32:46Famously, the pardon is the. Fury chapter 55 give it a read.
- 32:50Is that the one where it's followed by the his big Oh, the
- 32:53big longer of the yeah, that's 55 or he gives them she he tells
- 32:56her all the back story. I've loved you before you even
- 32:58knew existed. Wow.
- 32:59Yep. Yep, and we didn't.
- 33:01Name names, So no spoiler Technically no spoilers, Yes.
- 33:04Nope. Yep.
- 33:05Wow, so so iconic. That was legendary.
- 33:08That was on my on my top three. I did a top three and that was
- 33:10one of them. OK, I think for legendary, one
- 33:15of mine is from one of the well now three books of 4th wing, the
- 33:214th wing series. It's and it's also it's not like
- 33:25a how do I explain it? It's like more of like the
- 33:28wording of it rather than the actual like actions that take
- 33:31place because there's this really famous quote with the
- 33:34male main character where he says my house, my chair, my
- 33:37woman. And then things move from there.
- 33:4010 out of 10 blame me. And it's so funny because even
- 33:43the author now, she was like, I didn't think that that quote was
- 33:46gonna be such a big deal, but it's like a famous quote now.
- 33:49Everyone loves, people are getting.
- 33:50Tattooed. I'm guessing it's on tote bags.
- 33:53It's on coffee cup. You got tattooed.
- 33:58Cut that out, please. But then another one that's
- 34:03unhinged is in one in this book called King of Is it King of
- 34:08Pride? I think it's King of Pride.
- 34:10It's Anna Wang is the author and she is she write about.
- 34:14She's. This little like this little
- 34:16Asian lady, and she knows how to read, how to write smut.
- 34:19Let me tell you, yes, and it's a it's a scene in a library in
- 34:24like a hidden study in a library.
- 34:26And yes, things progress. It's it's very great.
- 34:29It is very unhinged though, but also very creative.
- 34:33I will overlook some weird, unhinged stuff.
- 34:35If it's creative, it's very creative.
- 34:36If it's creative, it has me fully invested.
- 34:39I'm gonna. I was.
- 34:40Like oh I didn't know that that could be a thing.
- 34:44Also it's that book has a very unproblematic male main
- 34:47character which we love. Oh, love that love.
- 34:49An unproblematic man? Yeah, I don't.
- 34:50Think I've ever met an unproblematic man?
- 34:54That hurts. I actually have one for this
- 34:57one. Unhinged Cordis Silver Flames
- 35:01chapter 37. I'm kidding.
- 35:03I was like you've. Read.
- 35:07It was like. Yeah, that's the chapter.
- 35:08There. Is 2 characters in the House of
- 35:11Wind I think who are like getting back at each other?
- 35:16Oh my God. And there's two.
- 35:18Scenes. Talking about.
- 35:20If you know, you know that is the unhinged you.
- 35:23Gave me war flashbacks I think. You nailed it with the getting
- 35:26back at each other. That's like.
- 35:27That exactly. Yeah.
- 35:28No, they nailed each other. Oh, I.
- 35:31Well, something was got. No, I'm just kidding.
- 35:34Cut that out. That was terrible.
- 35:35It was a terrible joke. I don't know what I was trying
- 35:37to do with that. I'm not.
- 35:37Cutting it out just so they know that you can't tell jokes.
- 35:42Maybe I am the joke, Brian. That's sad.
- 35:45Maybe you're thinking of yourself that way.
- 35:46No, I'm. Just kidding, baby girl.
- 35:49Yes, that is my two cents. Three points for Gryffindor.
- 35:55All right, next question. Oh, I'm sorry.
- 35:58Was that it for both of you? OK, OK, sure.
- 36:01Are there any authors, any like notable writers that are killing
- 36:08it in the department right now, in the spice department I.
- 36:10Only know 1 and that's Mr. de Mass.
- 36:13That's all I read, I mean. I'm sure there's many, but the
- 36:16few that I've like read up on enough to kind of say that
- 36:20they're killing it, I guess, is Anna Wang.
- 36:24She's like churning out these books.
- 36:26She has a series and it's called Kings of Sin.
- 36:28And so every book is like a different of the seven deadly
- 36:31sins. So like she's going through the
- 36:32list right now and she's already at like 6 or five, 5 or 6 I
- 36:36think. So she's killing it.
- 36:38And then Ali Hazelwood, she's also killing it.
- 36:42She has like Benny was. Familiar what?
- 36:43What's what? What's her book so?
- 36:45She does mostly contemporary romance, but she also has one
- 36:51random fantasy romance which is like vampires and werewolves. 10
- 36:56out of 10. But then like most recently, she
- 37:00dropped a book. It's called Deep End and it's
- 37:02about like swimmers. I did read that one.
- 37:04It's good. I need to.
- 37:05Google it because I think I've seen this cover.
- 37:06You've probably. Seen the cover, it's blue and
- 37:08purple and it's about like college swimmers and it's good.
- 37:12I enjoyed it. I have.
- 37:13This has been recommended to me on TikTok multiple times.
- 37:16She's showed up on my for you page a lot.
- 37:18Well, she. Has a lot of books out. that
- 37:19Lady cranks out like 3 books, 4 books a year.
- 37:22Like she just has one every season.
- 37:24I don't know where she's, I don't know what she's doing.
- 37:27But her publishers, they're just saying give me more, we'll put
- 37:30it out. She's writing of her personal
- 37:32experience, right? It's just the lives she's lived.
- 37:34But we got but Paula and I got a book signed by her at the LA
- 37:39Times Festival. Book, that's why.
- 37:41That name's familiar, yeah. She was a sweet little red

- 37:58There is one that I've been wanting to recommend you.
- 38:00I'll tell you about it later, OK?
- 38:01Is that why? You've only been sleeping 8
- 38:02hours straight. Yeah, dude, I don't know what's
- 38:05come over me trying to shake it off, you know, convert back.
- 38:07Yeah, yeah. You'll get there, friend.
- 38:09Thank you. Help our help our friend out.
- 38:12Drop him. Yeah, like is 1 case in the
- 38:14comment. This one's for both of you.
- 38:16This is going to be really fun. If you could insert yourself
- 38:18into any spicy book couple. Who are you joining?
- 38:21It could be 1 evening. You guys are just out.
- 38:22You're like, hey, they look fun. The one eight thing, no strings
- 38:27of touch. I never.
- 38:29Thought about this. I'm married.
- 38:31You're married. OK, can she bring her husband?
- 38:34I would never but if you were married.
- 38:39If I wasn't married, yeah, OK, it would be a Eiffel Tower with.
- 38:46Oh, I love a trip to Fran. I've heard it's OK there.
- 38:51I'm not gonna I'm not gonna do like just kidding.
- 38:53I don't know. I don't want to start a by
- 38:54panic. So I'm gonna go to male main
- 38:56characters instead of a couple. OK, yeah.
- 38:59Is that fair or do I have to pick a couple that's?
- 39:01Fair. That's that's because I.
- 39:03Honestly feel like if I were to pick a couple, it would be
- 39:04Bryson Hunt from Crescent City because I feel like Bryce would
- 39:07be fun. She would be fun.
- 39:10She yeah. And also I think I'd vibe with
- 39:11her. She has the.
- 39:12Best POV out of any of Sarah's books that I've read, Yeah.
- 39:17But I think for sure my shadow zaddies, Zadan Ryerson, our wing
- 39:23leader, our fearless wing leader, and Reese Reese and no
- 39:28last name of the night Court, our fearless.
- 39:32Hi, Lord. Hi, Lord.
- 39:34I don't know, I've never considered get.
- 39:39Creative Brian Be. In there I recall you talking
- 39:41about Dragons in the past. Oh.
- 39:43That book is bad though. But I mean, just a thought,
- 39:45Maybe Dragons? I don't know, maybe I should
- 39:48read 4th. What are?
- 39:49Your thoughts on like Tharian I? Do like Tharian.
- 39:53We finished Crescent City. By this point we have not had
- 39:55book club so we haven't talked about it but most everyone has
- 39:57finished. I think the only one still
- 39:59reading was Paula and Mosa no. Mosa No.
- 40:01I think, yeah, I think so, everyone.
- 40:02'S done I. Think Paula's the only one, but
- 40:04she, I mean, she doesn't care. Yeah.
- 40:06So. I I was led on the entire time
- 40:10by these little short scenes. As a queer person, you pick up
- 40:14on signals that other people overlook.
- 40:17And there's very specific scenes where Ethan's character and
- 40:22Therian's character were giving more than friends, like
- 40:26emotionally more than just the any kind of male relationship
- 40:30that was given in any of the previous books.
- 40:32Like she aside from like the recent Cassian and Azrael in
- 40:37Akatar, the level of like connection that these characters
- 40:41had at the just at the start of like meeting each other.
- 40:45I was like, oh, there's something here.
- 40:48This entire series and all her other books that I've read are
- 40:51like about mates and meeting your mate.
- 40:53And I'm like, oh, it's giving something here.
- 40:56They have a connection and she played into it about how there
- 40:59was a lot of guilds A plague into Oh my God, I put him here,
- 41:03I need to save him. It is my fault in the same way a
- 41:06lot of others like to see that. Happen and it's not too late.
- 41:09I don't know, I was so pissed off that they threw in
- 41:13additional characters at the end and kind of like paired them
- 41:15off. But anyways, I would do that.
- 41:16Farian and Ethan from Crescent City, a werewolf and a merman.
- 41:20Honestly, I'm into it. I love that he's the merman.
- 41:23Yeah. The Murr.
- 41:24Yeah, the. Murr Yeah, I think that's why
- 41:26Murr. The Murr.
- 41:27Does he have red? Hair.
- 41:27I think he has red hair too, right I.
- 41:29Picture him with red hair. I picture Ethan as a blonde,
- 41:32like a like stark white. He's a young.
- 41:34Pup, that was Yeah, he's outcasted, yeah.
- 41:36Very like college, college baseball player like yeah.
- 41:39He's giving college rugby, honestly, he's giving rugby.
- 41:42OK, my decision's set that finalizes it.
- 41:45You'll. Like slug it in love rugby got.
- 41:47It love rugby. The thighs, the slutty little
- 41:51thighs and. Big men I'm.
- 41:53Gonna get you some rugby shorts. What?
- 41:55Please do, I'll pitch. In it's gonna.
- 42:00Be the sponsor. Sponsor.
- 42:01That'll be. The.
- 42:03Daily. BJ that'll be the podcast
- 42:04uniform we have to show up. It cost you is.
- 42:08It gonna say like the daily BJ like right on the cheeks.
- 42:10BJ on each one. But yours says.
- 42:12B Mine says JB, but in the front.
- 42:16In the front. OK, what about you?
- 42:20What about me? Answer the question.
- 42:22Yeah, what you're under? External.
- 42:23Characters I've. Read like the back of cereal
- 42:26boxes and if you're. Going to tell me, Tony the
- 42:29tiger, you're going to ask you to leave?
- 42:31I just can't answer. I support you.
- 42:33Let's see. We stand with.
- 42:35We stand with ferries, but not 2.
- 42:37Can't, Sam? Well, that's how I was going.
- 42:38To go to the leprechaun from Lucky Charms.
- 42:39But anyways, I'm feeling lucky. I am gonna go, Ryan.
- 42:46Is he a gay icon? Is he the leprechaun from like?
- 42:49In terms of gay icon, no. Tony, the Tigers were of a gay
- 42:51icon. You're.
- 42:51Right. So you're into furries?
- 42:54Is that what I'm getting at? Anyways, answer the question all
- 42:57roads. Come back to furries, the red
- 43:00and fair changed. The red and fair.
- 43:01Changed all right, Couple, couple, couple, I mean, or
- 43:07characters or characters. Yeah, I don't want you to have
- 43:10we've. Broadened the category OK.
- 43:12OK I would like to take first hand training by Reese and I
- 43:17want him to take under, take me under his wing and teach me
- 43:20everything he knows. How old is he?
- 43:21Like 300? My guy knows stuff, so I mean, I
- 43:31guess Nesta. I was gonna guess Nesta Jerry
- 43:35likes a a dominant a very dominant woman.
- 43:38Yeah, he does. I.
- 43:39Was gonna say can I guess for you and my first guess is gonna
- 43:41be Nesta. It's probably gonna.
- 43:42Be Nesta because our favorite was badass and everything.
- 43:44And I'm yes, I'm going off at ACOTAR because that's the only
- 43:46series I've read from book 1 to book 66555.
- 43:53Nesta badass. Like that's hot.
- 43:55Yeah, that's fucking hot. Yeah.
- 43:56I mean, come on. Literally.
- 43:58Take no prisoners like. Nope.
- 44:01She's in charge. Good choices, good choices, good
- 44:03choices. Thank you.
- 44:06That will end the segment on spicy content.
- 44:08Now let's go to robot. OK.
- 44:09Wait, but but before that I would if you're no, I'm if
- 44:14you're brave little listeners, please comment who you some of
- 44:20your favorite fan, not fantasy, but a fictional characters that
- 44:23you're just like damn, if I met them in real life, we might we
- 44:25might get down. I would love to know.
- 44:28I please comment. I want to.
- 44:30I want to find out. And you don't have.
- 44:31You can give us clues too. Yes, you.
- 44:34Will not be judged. Nope.
- 44:35This is but not. Here safe space Yes, this is the
- 44:37daily. BJF are these pictures are above
- 44:39the age of 18 please in their books.
- 44:41Of course, respective books, they don't.
- 44:42Even have to be human, no? Absolutely not.
- 44:44I won't judge. I don't know that dragon you
- 44:47were the the serpent you were telling me about the dragon
- 44:50serpent with. Oh, Oh yeah.
- 44:53I mean, hear me out, Throne of. Glass.
- 44:55In Throne of Glass, there's the character.
- 44:57She's really bad ass and she's a shifter, but in a way where she
- 45:02can shift into any animal as long as she has enough power.
- 45:06And so she can shift into like a sea dragon and like a snow
- 45:11leopard and Brian. A sea dragon all.
- 45:13This cool stuff, yeah. You you seen trick?
- 45:17Nothing. Nothing pleases me anymore.
- 45:21Good for you. A wet dragon.
- 45:23That's what you want. Good for you.
- 45:26I got another. He just nodded.
- 45:29I just nodded. OK, I did skip one question, but
- 45:34we're going to continue. We'll come back.
- 45:35No. You're in charge.
- 45:37Romanticity. We've.
- 45:40Talked a lot about romanticity this past segment.
- 45:44What is it about romanticity that keeps readers coming back
- 45:47for more? Escapism.
- 45:51It's not real. You wish it was.
- 45:54I think romanticity is the perfect combination of escapism,
- 45:58'cause it's like the fantasy element where you're in a
- 46:01different world, you're emerged into an another reality that was
- 46:05isn't this one. And then also you have like the
- 46:09added layer of the like love or the romance of it all, where
- 46:15it's like this fairy tale thing, you know, 'cause I feel like
- 46:18when we're kids, we all grow up with like more or less an image
- 46:22of fairy tales. And now we grew up and now we
- 46:25like this type of fairy tale, right?
- 46:27Where it's like a different story told by an adult lens, but
- 46:32it's still fun and exciting and all the things we like.
- 46:37It plays on those tropes yes, of like this can it's not it's so
- 46:45not real because of the fantasy. There's one thing to read
- 46:49fiction and it be like, especially contemporary fiction,
- 46:52which I don't really, I don't read a lot of it has to have
- 46:55some kind of like fantastical element because the fantasy
- 46:58just, it makes it so unattainable that you get so
- 47:03invested in it. At least I do, because it's not
- 47:05like. Oh.
- 47:07This is a story about someone who works in an office and they
- 47:10fall in love with someone who works also in the office.
- 47:12Because that's boring. That's like, that's too real
- 47:14world. Give me something that I have no
- 47:16familiarity with so I'm completely enthralled and I and
- 47:21I'll be happy. Give me a magic system.
- 47:23I love magic. Give me fair.
- 47:25Yeah, yeah. Give me.
- 47:27Give me pointy ears. The point is.
- 47:30And I think it just explores creativity totally, especially
- 47:33when an author does it so well and they give you an entire
- 47:36world. Like, how did you do that?
- 47:38How'd you create that? Yeah.
- 47:40What's the planning into this? Well, there's lower to it and
- 47:42there's just much more than just like a series like no, there's
- 47:46books and. There's emotional release too.
- 47:48I feel like there's a lot that goes into what when it's good,
- 47:52right? When it's written well, I think
- 47:55that it it can invoke a lot of feelings.
- 47:58And I think there's like the sadistic part of us that enjoys
- 48:00to have like those little moments of like sadness or, or
- 48:03just feeling for characters that are literally not real.
- 48:08They're on a page. Yes, cuz it's better.
- 48:09To feel that over it's cuz it's better to feel it over a
- 48:12fictional character than a real one.
- 48:14Yeah, than a real person for. Real.
- 48:18They're not real. No honestly that is why for the
- 48:21longest time I was not able to finish books if I knew they had
- 48:25a sad ending because I hate knowing that my favorite
- 48:29character either dies or they don't get a happy ending that
- 48:33will keep me from reading a book for the longest time.
- 48:37Speaking of, it just reminded me of Song of Achilles.
- 48:40Stop. That's the couple I want to be
- 48:42it, OK. That's great.
- 48:44Them as adults, them while they're fighting right before
- 48:47they start fighting the war, Yeah, before they start fighting
- 48:50the freaking Trojan War. Wow, that's great.
- 48:52When? They're living their best life.
- 48:54That's funny, just beautiful. Rebecca Yaros, the author of 4th
- 48:57Wing. But she also does a lot of cool
- 48:58contemporary stuff. She did an interview recently
- 49:02where people were asking her like why she leaves off on such
- 49:05like crazy cliffhangers where she just leaves us like our
- 49:09chests feel like they just dropped.
- 49:11And then she doesn't pick it up. And she literally said she's
- 49:14like, oh, you guys love it? And the crowd just starts
- 49:17laughing. And she's like, also don't think
- 49:20that or what does she say? She she kind of says like, also,
- 49:23you all picked up the book. OK, that's implied consent.
- 49:26Like you, you sadist little shits.
- 49:29Like it basically just says, I was like, oh please, you guys
- 49:32love it. Like it's really funny that she
- 49:34owns it. Like because she does.
- 49:36She does have really sad endings to her books, all her books, not
- 49:40just the fantasy ones. Pretty funny.
- 49:44I'm not going to read those books now.
- 49:46I don't you. Read the first one through
- 49:48Osmosis kind. Of but I didn't remember that it
- 49:50had a sad ending. I mean.
- 49:54Yeah, yeah. I'd rather a sad ending in a
- 49:57movie than a book because a movie is A at Max usually a 2
- 50:01hour investment. A book if I'm sitting there
- 50:03reading for days I get attached. You put.
- 50:05In time I. I love them, I love them and
- 50:09they're not real. Not to beat a dead horse in the
- 50:11in what is it? Not to beat a dead horse, but
- 50:14also I'd rather hear a commentary on like politics, the
- 50:19world at large through a fantasy lens.
- 50:21It's so much more fun, even though how it's kind of sad and
- 50:25you can see it like, yeah, The Hunger Games has been repeated
- 50:29so many times and it's literally just a commentary on like, the
- 50:33current state of affairs, imperialism.
- 50:36Yeah, I love that too. Like seeing kinda how it plays
- 50:41out through there because for the most part, right.
- 50:43Not gonna generalize, but for the most part we get a happy
- 50:47ending eventually, or at least a satisfying ending eventually,
- 50:50and we all love to cheer for that because we don't know what
- 50:53the ending of this story is gonna be.
- 50:56You're so right. So.
- 50:57I think that's another good point.
- 50:58Yeah, totally. Which fantasy world do you wish
- 51:01was real just so you can fall in love there?
- 51:05Brythian, I feel like a lot of the other books that I've read
- 51:09or, or the fantasy books that I've read, the worlds are super
- 51:11grim and like cutthroat and it's all about survival.
- 51:14And I feel like Perthian out of all of them is like the
- 51:16prettiest. Yeah.
- 51:17It's just pretty you could be. Living in Velaris, having the
- 51:19time of your life. Yeah, or.
- 51:20Like, go to the summer court, go to the, you know, just hang out.
- 51:23I feel like it'd be pretty. You could just vacation in other
- 51:27aisles, other courts. Go to the summer court, yeah.
- 51:31You just have to avoid the middle.
- 51:34That's it maybe. Why don't you just?
- 51:36Meet me in the middle. Don't Meet me.
- 51:38Don't. Meet me in the middle.
- 51:39There's monsters there. I would like I would do the
- 51:43Eternal City. OK.
- 51:46Post post war, the ending, yeah, post war I don't know, maybe
- 51:51even like I would do it chapter 1 of of.
- 51:58First book, Christian City. Yeah.
- 51:59What's the first book? House of.
- 52:01Flame and. Chapter No, that's the third
- 52:02one, The wind and no breath. Or no, that's the second one
- 52:06House. Of Sky and.
- 52:08No, wait, wait. The first book.
- 52:10The first book. Because the city won.
- 52:13It's just like it's giving like grungy party.
- 52:18Do you? Like that, there's technology I.
- 52:19Do like that there's technology, but I like how like.
- 52:22Earth and blood. Earth and blood.
- 52:23Earth and blood. It's giving warehouse party like
- 52:26the entire storyline is not story but the vibes are.
- 52:29Party one night, you go to work, party the next night, everyone's
- 52:33having the time of their. Lives.
- 52:34What you're saying is club? Plain, yes.
- 52:39OK, that sounds like fun. It sounds like everyone's just
- 52:42trying. They're they're they're living
- 52:44their hard lives. Yeah, they're oppressed, but
- 52:46they know how to party. There's another one I would
- 52:48name, but she's she's dead to us.
- 52:52She should be dead to everyone. Yes.
- 52:55Do I know this? Yes, you.
- 52:57Considering you've been calling points for Gryffindor, yes, you
- 52:59know it. You.
- 52:59Know her, but we are not. We don't.
- 53:01We don't discuss her. No.
- 53:04But the Lord is. Yeah, that world.
- 53:07Undeniably. Yeah.
- 53:09Yeah. Pretty good, pretty good, pretty
- 53:10great. I'm living in the Shire.
- 53:15Jerry's gonna be a Hobbit, OK? Jerry Hobbit was freaking.
- 53:17They're releasing a Animal Crossing type game that is based
- 53:21off the Shire in your Hobbit. Oh.
- 53:23That's so cute. It's like.
- 53:24A cozy game, it's how. Beautiful that like map is gonna
- 53:27be. And you know what?
- 53:28The Shire. Posts everything.
- 53:30Yeah, I think that's a great answer.
- 53:31Just a. Little Hobbit, a little Hobbit,
- 53:34a little Hobbit. Home and like, yeah, I'm a
- 53:35little Hobbit hole and I just have all my neighbors around and
- 53:38have like, you know, like relatives that I talk shit to
- 53:40like. Drinking hot chocolate and
- 53:42eating meat that's. It and those meat having feasts.
- 53:44Collecting shit? Yeah, that's it.
- 53:47Foraging. Foraging, yeah.
- 53:49Wow, that's a great answer. Thank you. 10 points for me, OK.
- 53:55Finally. No, I'm beating, I'm winning
- 53:58right now, so catch up. Catch you it.
- 54:01He's too silent. And we've talked about this, but
- 54:04this is, you know, romanticy. So enemy celevers, faded maze,
- 54:06forbidden love. What trove do you think rules
- 54:09romanticy? Same answer, yeah.
- 54:12OK, we're sticking with the enemies.
- 54:13Yeah, or faded love, like we're meant we're meant to be.
- 54:17That's literally everything romanticy is like.
- 54:19Yeah, even the like the parodies to to romanticy plays on the.
- 54:26Oh, I love you. Like you're the king of darkness
- 54:29and I'm just a lonely villager and we're meant to fall in love
- 54:32you. Kill people, Jacob.
- 54:34Oh my gosh, have you seen those edits?
- 54:36No, no, tell her. I love Twilight is so funny
- 54:38because it's so cringy in in twilight.
- 54:42There's like the Twilight, the. Book Verse.
- 54:46Book 1 right, Edward says I've killed people Bella, like he's
- 54:50warning her to stay away from him, right.
- 54:52And he's like, I've killed people and she's like, I don't
- 54:54care. And then in New Moon, there's a
- 54:57scene where after she finds out that Jacob is a werewolf, he's
- 55:01like he he's like explaining it to her.
- 55:04And she's like, Oh my gosh, you, you hurt people, Jacob.
- 55:08And he's like, we don't hurt anybody or I don't hurt anybody.
- 55:11And she's like, it doesn't matter, like you're.
- 55:13The You know what this is? It's racism.
- 55:16Just because he's brown, because he's.
- 55:18Brown and Edward's white Bella, you're racist, LA.
- 55:23Bella, La. Bella.
- 55:25Well, she is from. Arizona.
- 55:28Bella. Mooted red RedState.
- 55:30RedState Bella. She's.
- 55:32From Phoenix for sure. Oh.
- 55:33Absolutely no. Is she from like?
- 55:36Albuquerque or something? No, You know where she is?
- 55:39She's from. What's that place we went to the
- 55:43rich place. In Glendale.
- 55:45No Scottsdale, She's from Scottsdale, Scottsdale.
- 55:47She's from all the way from Scottsdale.
- 55:50She's from Scottsdale. Wow, super bad reference.
- 55:54These are. I'm gonna go to the song now,
- 55:56OK? Do you think Romantic gets the
- 55:59credit it deserves in the book world?
- 56:01I think. Right now it does, yeah.
- 56:03I think now, like within the probably the past five to 10
- 56:06years, it's developed the credit that it deserves, yeah.
- 56:09Because I think for the longest time it was very much like, you
- 56:13keep it to yourself because it was not the mainstream.
- 56:16It's kind of nerdy, yeah. Not that I'm ashamed of
- 56:20anything, like any kind of fan culture I participate in, but
- 56:24because it's so like, we go. To the Ren fair branch, yeah,
- 56:26but. Now, but because it's so like it
- 56:30is the mainstream of what everyone's reading, yeah, I
- 56:34don't know. It's going to be overplayed in I
- 56:36think within the next year. OK, a lot of authors are trying
- 56:39to capitalize on the fact that it's popular now and are trying
- 56:42to enter that space. So I've tried to become really
- 56:46careful about what authors I pick up, because the last thing
- 56:49I want is to pick up a shitty book and.
- 56:51It's just like a cash grab and I.
- 56:52Know, it's part of the exploration and what not, like
- 56:55if you hear about a book that you think you might like, but I,
- 56:59I don't know. I just.
- 57:00I wanna not have crappy books on my bookshelf.
- 57:03Is that so bad? Yeah.
- 57:04Yeah. Yeah, true.
- 57:05I would hate to buy. All my reading these days is on
- 57:08Kindle. But to buy a book and then not
- 57:11like it, Yeah, it's on your shelf forever.
- 57:13I hate that. Yeah.
- 57:15Donations. Donations.
- 57:16Give us one more question, Jerry.
- 57:17Go one. OK, it'd.
- 57:19Be funny if that was the last one.
- 57:21That's it for today. All right, let's see if your
- 57:26favorite fantasy couple went on a double date with another book
- 57:31couple. Who would it be and what chaos
- 57:34would unfold? Oh my God, and.
- 57:37It could be a couple, it could be characters.
- 57:39We we establish that. There's a question for them to
- 57:41say. I don't.
- 57:42I have not read enough books to. Have multiple couples.
- 57:44I feel like I'm gonna really go off like end of the aisle here
- 57:49and say that I would like to see what reason Farrah are like with
- 57:55Darcy and Elizabeth from Pride and Prejudice.
- 57:58What? I think like I think.
- 58:01Bryce and Hunt. No, if we just like we're to
- 58:03pick up Reese and Farrah from Ecotar and like place them into
- 58:09the Pride and Prejudice time period in.
- 58:11This world, see the vision. I feel like Reese and and it's
- 58:17the no, no, no, I feel like Darcy, Mr. Darcy.
- 58:20I feel like they would get along, like they would play like
- 58:22the my horse is bigger than your horse and like, oh, look at my
- 58:24palace. And then Reese would be like,
- 58:26oh, well, my palace is this. I think that they would like,
- 58:28get along because they're both just like rich, sophisticated
- 58:32men. And also Reese would be like,
- 58:35look, I could do magic and they'd be like, whoa.
- 58:37And then it would just be fun. And I feel like Farrah and like
- 58:39Elizabeth have kind of a similar personality where they're both
- 58:42like, they're badasses, but they're kind of subdued badasses
- 58:45now where they're like established now.
- 58:47They don't have to go and live in poverty anymore, you know so
- 58:52so I think that that is like a similar thing.
- 58:54Also there is like a Tamelin like character in Pride and
- 58:57Prejudice. They.
- 58:58Can all gang up so. They can, they can relate to
- 59:00each other and also the sisters we.
- 59:02Have a common enemy like. Elizabeth has a bunch of
- 59:04sisters, the chaotic sisters, and Farrah has chaotic sisters.
- 59:08Well, two sisters, right? So I think they would just like,
- 59:11get along. I don't know.
- 59:12It's an inkling. That's a good pairing.
- 59:15I have one I thought I thought I was going to, but I do because
- 59:20these book series series are so similar.
- 59:24It was it would not be just like a couple.
- 59:26It would be like an interaction. It would be such a good, what do
- 59:29you call it cross crossover. Crossover would be the Percy
- 59:34Jackson books and the Sun Bearer trial books by Aidan Thomas
- 59:40because he literally described his books as like a mix of
- 59:43Hunger Games and Percy Jackson. Because it's a bunch of
- 59:45children, like teens that are the fight to the death and are
- 59:49children of a bunch of gods, but they're like Mexican, Mayan,
- 59:54Aztec, Inca inspired gods. That would be such a cool
- 59:58crossover. I need to talk to Rick Riordan.
- 1:00:00That's fine. And you get this in motion.
- 1:00:04Put it on paper, right? Put.
- 1:00:05It on paper that. 'D be so cool of like we have to
- 1:00:07save the combined universe. Wow, like what's his name?
- 1:00:12Who? The the author or do you want to
- 1:00:14send this? Aiden and Rick.
- 1:00:15Like Aiden, Rick and then slide over the packet.
- 1:00:18Aiden, like you, you're. Going to want to read this.
- 1:00:21Yeah, and. Inside of it, it's just a
- 1:00:22threat. Like, please do this.
- 1:00:23All right, we'll jump. The timer just started.
- 1:00:26You have 30. Minutes.
- 1:00:27To read, so no. Just pull some ideas, that's all
- 1:00:31I need. Wow.
- 1:00:33Wow. That was awesome.
- 1:00:35I was the fly in the room for this episode and I I love it.
- 1:00:39I love the dialogue y'all had. I like.
- 1:00:41The club. There's literally 2 bookworms
- 1:00:43just in front of me and I'm just the bird looking at.
- 1:00:48I would say there's one. There's one.
- 1:00:50Bookworm here. I would say I'm like a little
- 1:00:53book bug I'll read sometimes. Book bug?
- 1:00:58Yeah. Well, when we started book club,
- 1:01:00I was also very much reading multiple books at once.
- 1:01:03But then I did experience a bit of burnout, but I'm refreshed.
- 1:01:08I'm not reading anything now, but I have a long list of books
- 1:01:10I might kindle to read. So exciting it's.
- 1:01:13Exciting. Any final thoughts?
- 1:01:17How do you how do you feel after today?
- 1:01:19I'm experiencing what I do every Thursday because it's not
- 1:01:22Tuesday right now. Thursday Every.
- 1:01:24Thursday. Well, I don't appreciate that
- 1:01:26you woke me up at 3:00 in the morning for this, but other than
- 1:01:28that, you gave me hot chocolate, so I did.
- 1:01:30Things are pretty great I. Did.
- 1:01:32Yeah. This is the first time we've had
- 1:01:33a snack while recording well. I'm sure they've heard me
- 1:01:36drinking my little Americano. Yeah, that was great.
- 1:01:39This time there was effort put into it.
- 1:01:42Wow, Jerry. 'S a chef.
- 1:01:43I made hot chocolate, guys. It burned.
- 1:01:48We had to scrape it off it. Was brown because it's burnt,
- 1:01:51not because of the chocolate. Yeah, well, this has been really
- 1:01:56fun. I appreciate you for coming.
- 1:01:57I know you are a married, married woman and your husband
- 1:02:00must be freaking out. Oh, I.
- 1:02:01Know. But thank you for taking the
- 1:02:04time to come in today. My.
- 1:02:05Wife. Where's my wife?
- 1:02:10I look forward to the next episode.
- 1:02:11Ryan, do you want to give the people a glimpse?
- 1:02:15I don't know what's happening next episode we will figure
- 1:02:18that. Out.
- 1:02:19It's a surprise. It's all planned.
- 1:02:20We do. Have some some some
- 1:02:24housekeeping. Last week we did not provide our
- 1:02:27listeners with a song recommendation.
- 1:02:29Oh. Damn, you're right.
- 1:02:31Get. On it, boys.
- 1:02:32You're part of this today, yeah. So you can give a song
- 1:02:35recommendation, or in lieu of a song recommendation you can give
- 1:02:39a book recommendation. I like that.
- 1:02:42I would like to. I'll do both.
- 1:02:44I'll do a song recommendation song in a book and a book four
- 1:02:50books. I'm looking at my library.
- 1:02:53I want you guys to read one of my favorite books of all time.
- 1:02:57It is. Oh my God, what's it called?
- 1:03:03Not you forgetting. Bro.
- 1:03:04OK, no, I I have the the book cover is ingrained in my memory
- 1:03:09forever. The it's called Aristotle and
- 1:03:14Dante discover it's. Secrets to the.
- 1:03:15Universe, if you have not read that book, please do so.
- 1:03:19That book was so formative to me reading it I think.
- 1:03:23I think I read it when I got into college.
- 1:03:27This was a while ago because I remember you showed us the movie
- 1:03:29Oh the. The movie's still good.
- 1:03:30The movie came out 2023, but the book originally came out in
- 1:03:352012. I'm pretty sure I read this
- 1:03:37going into college, so this was probably one of the first like
- 1:03:40literary medias of of queerness that I experienced.
- 1:03:44Love that. Please read it.
- 1:03:46My favorite book. Movie's pretty good too.
- 1:03:48Produced by Lin Manuel Miranda. Wow, it's so.
- 1:03:51Interesting. Yeah, and As for song, it's
- 1:03:55Fernando by ABBA, cuz I've had it on repeat all day today.
- 1:04:01Wow. Well, I'll go next if Jerry's
- 1:04:03still getting ready. Yes, it's great.
- 1:04:04OK, so let's see. For song recommendation, I'm
- 1:04:08gonna do the I'm gonna Do the Hosier version of Lay Me Down,
- 1:04:16which is a song by Sam Smith, but Hosier covers it on the BBC
- 1:04:20Live Lounge. OK, deep cut.
- 1:04:22Is it true? This is awesome.
- 1:04:23Yeah, it's on Spotify. It's on Spotify now.
- 1:04:26Yeah. So it's the hosier.
- 1:04:28Lay me down. BBC Live Lounge.
- 1:04:30Beautiful. I love what he does with the
- 1:04:32song. He like, changes the arrangement
- 1:04:34a little bit. That's cool.
- 1:04:35And then for book recommendation, I'm gonna do
- 1:04:38like a silly like he he ha ha. Fun book.
- 1:04:42OK, cuz I feel like sometimes what I like to do is if I read a
- 1:04:45really heavy book after I like to do a palate cleanser.
- 1:04:48So this is one of my palate cleanser books and it was
- 1:04:51recommended to me by Paola. Shut up to Paola.
- 1:04:54It's called first time caller and it's basically like
- 1:04:58Sleepless in Seattle. If you've ever seen the movie
- 1:05:00Sleepless in Seattle, it's, it's inspired by it and it's really
- 1:05:03cute. Little like contemporary romance
- 1:05:06book, pretty short, but it's fun and it's just like a good time.
- 1:05:11It's not gonna stress you out and you're gonna be satisfied at
- 1:05:14the end. So, and let me think, I'm trying
- 1:05:18to find cover. Yeah, it's a cute cover.
- 1:05:20I'm trying to find the author. The author.
- 1:05:22BK, Boris BK. Boris.
- 1:05:24And there it is. Oh, it's new.
- 1:05:26Yeah, it's fairly new IT. Was an instant New York Times
- 1:05:29bestseller. Period.
- 1:05:31OK I'll keep it on my radar but I've heard too much straight
- 1:05:35stuff recently. When you get back to my roots.
- 1:05:37Put it in the comments, guys. Help Brian out.
- 1:05:39Yes, please. I'm gonna, I'm gonna butcher
- 1:05:41this. But I actually sent you this
- 1:05:42song earlier this week. Yes.
- 1:05:45Audat Audut that is the band name there Ala band AURAT.
- 1:05:51It is darkwave like post punkish music.
- 1:05:54The song name is Nazar NAZAR. If you just want a vibe in the
- 1:05:58car, feel dark and mysterious, play it well.
- 1:06:02That's. A pretty good song.
- 1:06:03It's a great song. Great band.
- 1:06:05Yeah, that is my recommendation you.
- 1:06:08Don't have a book recommendation?
- 1:06:12Pick up a newspaper, guys. Read the back of the of the of
- 1:06:15your soda or something once in a while.
- 1:06:17You know what you're drinking, you know it's important.
- 1:06:20Read your neighbor. You know your neighbor and cuz.
- 1:06:25Reading is what? Fundamental.
- 1:06:30I'm still reading The Lord of the Rings.
- 1:06:31It's just taking forever. But it's fine because I don't
- 1:06:33have headphones. I can't be fully immersed in the
- 1:06:36book because I don't have the audio and book.
- 1:06:38I have the book, I don't have the audio playing.
- 1:06:40I need my headphones. Someone can buy me headphones?
- 1:06:45Please sponsor Jerry's headphones.
- 1:06:47He can't read otherwise. He can't.
- 1:06:49Read without my headphones, without his headphones.
- 1:06:53Well, it was a pleasure. Once again, thank you to seven
- 1:06:57time Grammy nominated New York Times bestseller for joining us.
- 1:07:04That's. Grammy spelled GRAHMY.
- 1:07:06Yeah, it's actually. So Grammy, the Grammy, the
- 1:07:10Grammy, but. Thank you for having me.
- 1:07:13This was fun of. Course.
- 1:07:15Where the hell you been that'll? Be $500, please.
- 1:07:17OK, you heard of your phone send.
- 1:07:18That to our agent, Yeah. And they'll work on it.
- 1:07:23I'll give you their PO Box. Great if you.
- 1:07:25Actually, if you go out that door right now, they should be
- 1:07:27out there right now so you can catch them you.
- 1:07:28Can fuck them down. OK, It's that door right there.
- 1:07:30Yes, and. Then when you get a little
- 1:07:32further out, there's a gate past the gate, yeah.
- 1:07:34Past the gate, yeah. Down the alley, yeah.
- 1:07:35OK. I'll be right back then, OK.
- 1:07:37All right. OK.
- 1:07:40Shit. What are we gonna do?
- 1:07:40Dude, I don't know. Excuse my ride home.
- 1:07:43Can you give me a ride home? No, I think.
- 1:07:44You have to stay here. What?
- 1:07:45The fuck it, I'll knock out on the couch.
- 1:07:47No, you knock out on the couch, I'll take your bed.
- 1:07:49What the fuck? Thank you.
- 1:07:50Bye, guys. Bye.
- 1:07:51Guys.
