- 2:04Speaker 2: where I started, and it's bananas, okay, So I want

- 2:13Speaker 2: again is Patrese Grumble, and I am known as sc
- 2:17Speaker 2: book Out A four three and I am from the
- 2:19Speaker 2: South Carolina area, hence the area code A four three
- 2:24Speaker 2: in sc Okay. I am an avid book reader here
- 2:30Speaker 2: and my favorite genre is erotic and contemporary. Now notice
- 2:39Speaker 2: that anna African American. We're gonna have a little discussion
- 2:43Speaker 2: about that later on because African American is not a
- 2:47Speaker 2: genre anymore. Aha. But we got a couple of shows
- 2:52Speaker 2: and we'll discuss that. Okay. But again, you normally see
- 2:56Speaker 2: me on Saturday nights, you guys. But now my show
- 2:58Speaker 2: is going to be every Tuesday at eight pm. Why Tuesday? Well,
- 3:05Speaker 2: I have this nine year old daughter who is the
- 3:08Speaker 2: apple of my eye when she won't to be, but
- 3:13Speaker 2: she's involved with so many activities. So I wanted to
- 3:16Speaker 2: give her the same amount of commitment that I give
- 3:19Speaker 2: everything else in my life. So I decided to say, hey,
- 3:24Speaker 2: let's do Tuesday nights. And I think this is the
- 3:26Speaker 2: great fit. Okay, So a little bit more about myself.
- 3:32Speaker 2: I work for a local library here in South Carolina.
- 3:37Speaker 2: This year will be twenty years. And my love for
- 3:42Speaker 2: reading started with one book. And I can't say the
- 3:47Speaker 2: tide of the book because it could censored, but let's
- 3:51Speaker 2: just say as a book by Daijah King, Okay. And
- 3:55Speaker 2: there are seven books in that series. Okay, So Dejah King,
- 4:02Speaker 2: seven books in that series. Go look it up, you guys.
- 4:06Speaker 2: But I'll tell you all about it in my blog. Okay.
- 4:11Speaker 2: So this meeting is the first annual Aspiring Author's Magazine
- 4:20Speaker 2: South Carolina Book Galt Awards. You guys. It's a bards, yes, yes, yes,
- 4:28Speaker 2: So we're starting out small, you guys. And every year
- 4:32Speaker 2: we're gonna add on a new award. Okay, maybe one,
- 4:37Speaker 2: maybe two, maybe three, but we're gonna add on new awards. Okay.
- 4:42Speaker 2: But each show this season, I'm going to open up
- 4:47Speaker 2: what a new book review. South Carolina book gal has
- 4:52Speaker 2: to do the reviews. Okay, so this one is dedicated
- 4:56Speaker 2: to my little people. Okay. I decided for black History minded.
- 5:01Speaker 2: I was going to read at least one children's book.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Yu may ax just look at the signs of the time. Okay.
- 5:13Speaker 2: So we're gonna bring up the slides. That's gonna show
- 5:16Speaker 2: you our book review for tonight and start our award show.
- 5:21Speaker 2: So let's bring it on up, you guys. So why
- 5:27Speaker 2: we bring that up. I'm gonna tell y'all more about Oh, well,
- 5:30Speaker 2: here it is. We're gonna go straight to it. So
- 5:35Speaker 2: our new review alert is what we call it. The
- 5:39Speaker 2: book is called I Can Grow It and it's an
- 5:42Speaker 2: acorn book by Kelly Greenwald. Now acorn book. What in
- 5:47Speaker 2: the world is that? Well, that's for our many readers, okay.
- 5:52Speaker 2: And when I said many, am I and I. We
- 5:56Speaker 2: are looking for kids between kay and one. This book
- 6:02Speaker 2: is great for them. Okay. Now I would say second
- 6:07Speaker 2: grade if they're struggling a little bit. But here's the
- 6:11Speaker 2: key to know. This book that's your child, or any
- 6:16Speaker 2: book fits your child. If your child is reading a
- 6:20Speaker 2: page and name miss more than five words on that page.
- 6:27Speaker 2: That would mean the book is a little bit too difficult,
- 6:31Speaker 2: So you want to go lower. Okay. But if they're
- 6:35Speaker 2: reading and they're reading through five words and they have
- 6:41Speaker 2: no problem, challenge them and go a little high. So
- 6:45Speaker 2: the keyword five mispronounced on wrong words, you want to
- 6:51Speaker 2: come down. Okay. So this one is like I said,
- 6:56Speaker 2: call I can grow it. Me Princess True and her
- 7:00Speaker 2: Magical Girls and this tenth book and her delightful sears,
- 7:06Speaker 2: she embarks on an exciting adventure filled with the growth
- 7:10Speaker 2: and discovery. This book features three engaging mini stories, Grow
- 7:16Speaker 2: a Garden, the Spotted Egg in the Magic Tree, I
- 7:20Speaker 2: Can Grow It as a fun, rhyming read that helps
- 7:24Speaker 2: young learners build fund skills while enjoying a whimsical journey.
- 7:29Speaker 2: A bright spring theme illustration bring the garden theme to life,
- 7:34Speaker 2: making it both educational and visual captivating. You guys, such
- 7:40Speaker 2: the cutest little book, the three little mini chapters. When
- 7:44Speaker 2: that child gets one as reading, they feel so accomplished,
- 7:47Speaker 2: and that's one of the things you're looking for is
- 7:50Speaker 2: to instill that confidence level and they will continue to read. Okay,
- 7:55Speaker 2: So you guys, it is now a war time. So
- 8:04Speaker 2: welcome to the twenty twenty five Aspiring Authors Magazine Awards.
- 8:11Speaker 2: So Aspiring Authors Magazine's mission okay. Aspiring Office Magazine was
- 8:18Speaker 2: created to be a voice for those who think they
- 8:21Speaker 2: don't have a voice in the black and brown community.
- 8:25Speaker 2: We desired to brush the gap between black and brown
- 8:28Speaker 2: authors around the world while touching on topics affecting our
- 8:32Speaker 2: black and brown people. You have a purpose and our founder,
- 8:37Speaker 2: Angela Thomas Smith, wants you to know that a Genesis
- 8:41Speaker 2: twenty five, twelve and fifteen states that you are chosen?
- 8:45Speaker 2: Do you believe that you are chosen? Okay? That is
- 8:50Speaker 2: our mission statement for a Starting Authors Magazine. Now, our

- 14:40Speaker 2: next year, like I said, each year, we're gonna continue

- 14:52Speaker 2: you can expect for seaon three of Bessie Book Gals
- 14:55Speaker 2: and Friends. Each month, you guys, we're gonna focus on
- 15:00Speaker 2: some type of category, and what I mean by category
- 15:05Speaker 2: is some type of genre. We want to deal with poetry.
- 15:09Speaker 2: In April, we're gonna talk to the brothers. In May,
- 15:13Speaker 2: we're gonna talk to the ladies. In June, we're even
- 15:17Speaker 2: gonna think about our young adult authors readson being you guys,
- 15:20Speaker 2: because a lot of the books of black and brown
- 15:23Speaker 2: authors are being taken off the shelves. Okay, we don't
- 15:28Speaker 2: have the big backing of the Big Three. Okay, you guys,
- 15:34Speaker 2: So we're gonna have to make our standpoint in this world.
- 15:38Speaker 2: We're gonna have to make that mark. Yes, I'm still
- 15:41Speaker 2: gonna have fun with my authors, but we're gonna take
- 15:44Speaker 2: it up a level. Okay, you guys. We're gonna present
- 15:47Speaker 2: ourselves in a way where we're gonna draw more people
- 15:54Speaker 2: to the art and love of reading. I try to
- 15:58Speaker 2: tell my kids every time when I see them in
- 16:00Speaker 2: the library. Oh, miss Petrees, I don't read. I don't read. Yes,
- 16:04Speaker 2: you do, because you use your phone all day long.
- 16:07Speaker 2: You TikTok all day long, you look at TV and
- 16:11Speaker 2: all day long, and all of those are recreated from words. Okay,
- 16:18Speaker 2: so let me tell you about some things we got
- 16:21Speaker 2: going on. Okay, you guys one Aspiring Authors magazine has
- 16:26Speaker 2: created one hundred authors to watch out in twenty twenty five. Now,
- 16:32Speaker 2: I know twenty twenty five has already started, but here's
- 16:36Speaker 2: your chance to be in the community of support. We've
- 16:40Speaker 2: already started working in our many groups. You will have
- 16:43Speaker 2: a leader where if you have any type of questions
- 16:46Speaker 2: or you have anything that's racking your brain, you can
- 16:49Speaker 2: go to them and others in the group. Okay, you
- 16:53Speaker 2: might might find your new co author, or you might
- 16:58Speaker 2: have an idea when your book, but please believe that
- 17:02Speaker 2: you will have the backing of a group of community
- 17:05Speaker 2: that supports you every day. We have challenges each day.
- 17:10Speaker 2: We're supporting each other, We're showing off each other's books,
- 17:14Speaker 2: we're helping out what ideas we're going to be going
- 17:17Speaker 2: to cities. We're going to be doing little virtual workshops.
- 17:22Speaker 2: But this won't be for everyone to see. You have
- 17:26Speaker 2: to join our group to be a part of it. Okay.
- 17:29Speaker 2: So that's one thing that we have going on. Two
- 17:33Speaker 2: back back again. What state will you represent? All right,
- 17:41Speaker 2: you guys, you have the March first to claim your
- 17:44Speaker 2: state and the twenty twenty five fifty five states to represent,
- 17:50Speaker 2: because we're also adding on the territories. So remember there
- 17:56Speaker 2: are three ways you can claim the states three one
- 18:02Speaker 2: born there, two book from there, or three you have
- 18:09Speaker 2: to live there. Now, there might be a couple of
- 18:14Speaker 2: states that are up to grab, be happy, grab them, okay,
- 18:21Speaker 2: but if you want a certain state, you better get
- 18:25Speaker 2: it too, Okay. Now that information is going to go
- 18:30Speaker 2: to a specialized magazine that's going to be coming out
- 18:34Speaker 2: in May, so think about it. For whole twenty twenty five.
- 18:38Speaker 2: That's your state, nobody else. So remember you gotta be
- 18:42Speaker 2: born there, your book from there, or you gotta live there. Okay,
- 18:49Speaker 2: and less but not least. If you want to be
- 18:54Speaker 2: a featured author, editor, illustrator and want to be on
- 18:58Speaker 2: my show, contact as see book Guys and friends. Come
- 19:03Speaker 2: on over because you know I'm always looking for somebody
- 19:06Speaker 2: to interview. Okay. Also, we're gonna start promoting. So let's
- 19:13Speaker 2: say you need a book promoted, you need your book reviews.
- 19:16Speaker 2: I'm back in at you guys. My first project is
- 19:21Speaker 2: called the Mini Jar. Okay, I have little mini books
- 19:26Speaker 2: that I am working on. I'm even doing content on you,
- 19:29Speaker 2: you guys. These many books are going to be representing
- 19:33Speaker 2: the books that I will be reviewing. Okay, every time
- 19:37Speaker 2: I finish your book, I'm going to do a blog interview,
- 19:42Speaker 2: a book review interview, and if that author would like
- 19:46Speaker 2: to come on my show, they will be granted an interview. Okay.
- 19:50Speaker 2: So that's three ways to poor, promote and show off
- 19:56Speaker 2: your brand. I after do and those three things. We'll
- 20:01Speaker 2: bring out my little mini Jar and I will choose
- 20:04Speaker 2: a book right in front of you guys, so you
- 20:07Speaker 2: will always know what I'm reading. And while I'm reading
- 20:11Speaker 2: that said books, I am going to create updates so
- 20:15Speaker 2: you can follow my journey throughout twenty twenty five of
- 20:19Speaker 2: reading all different type of genres. There is no genre
- 20:25Speaker 2: that will be refused. So bring on the fantasies, bring
- 20:30Speaker 2: on the supernot Yeah, the supernatural. I'm gonna have to
- 20:35Speaker 2: get my head right for those ones. You know what
- 20:37Speaker 2: I'm saying. Bring on the hood, Bring on the contemporary,
- 20:42Speaker 2: younger thoat the children, Bring on the self help because
- 20:46Speaker 2: I am focusing that on myself too. So we have
- 20:50Speaker 2: many projects that's coming from aspiring authors, magazine and or
- 20:55Speaker 2: sc bookyards and friends. Just follow us every where. Okay,
- 21:01Speaker 2: we got TikTok everything is Scie Books of Friends everything. Okay,
- 21:08Speaker 2: tickout Facebook, Instagram. I'm about to create a Blue Sky.

- 21:15Speaker 2: Blue Sky, let me know. Okay, and all social media networks. Okay,
- 21:22Speaker 2: you guys. Season three is here and I am so excited.
- 21:28Speaker 2: I got so many journeys coming on who I just
- 21:32Speaker 2: can't contain it. So I want to thank you guys.

- 21:37Speaker 2: make sure that we give honor to all those who
