- 0:00If you go with me in your scriptures to Acts
- 0:04chapter 15 this morning, Acts chapter 15, we're
- 0:09going to read a story here that has been speaking
- 0:13to me, that has been impacting my life. I was
- 0:20camping with my daughters and my grandson, Edmund.
- 0:25It was his first trip. He's back there running
- 0:28the cameras. this morning. Happy to have him.
- 0:33And the fourth night, the first three nights
- 0:37were awesome. The fourth night, we got, we were
- 0:41planning on staying at a lake and every campsite
- 0:44was full. So when that happens, guess what you
- 0:47got to do? You got to go to the next lake. And
- 0:51I am thinking that nobody has ever been to that
- 0:54lake. It was called Skin Dance Lake. Skin Dance
- 1:01Lake. And, I mean, it was so overgrown, we couldn't
- 1:07even find the campsites. But the girls finally
- 1:11found the campsite. And we found out why it was
- 1:16called Skin Dance Lake. Because there were so
- 1:20many mosquitoes in that place. I mean, we had
- 1:26bugs, but not that bad. And they were, it was
- 1:31mind -boggling how many mosquitoes that we had
- 1:35on that lake. Especially, you know, when the
- 1:38sun goes down, the mosquitoes usually come out
- 1:41for about 40 minutes and then they settle down
- 1:42and leave. Well, they did not settle down and
- 1:45leave all night. They swarmed and swarmed and
- 1:48swarmed and swarmed. And my grandson Edmund said,
- 1:53Papa, I have been to the gates of hell. We named
- 2:07that website, or that website, that campsite,
- 2:11the gates of hell. So many mosquitoes, it made
- 2:16your skin dance. See, that was the, that's how
- 2:20we're going to remember that lake forever. Skin
- 2:24dance lake. And then the last campsite, the Lord
- 2:30rewarded us for us enduring. Jesus is building
- 2:35his church at the gates of hell. I just want
- 2:37to remind you about that. It's not always the
- 2:40nicest places that Jesus is building his church.
- 2:44Isn't that right? And the Lord rewarded us, though,
- 2:48with the last campsite is normally the first
- 2:53one taken on the lake, and we got there late
- 2:55during the day, and we got the best campsite
- 2:57on Segal Lake, and it was... phenomenal. It had
- 3:02its own swimming pool. It had its own precipices
- 3:07where we could climb and see every part of the
- 3:11lake. It had blueberry patches that were totally
- 3:16ripe. We picked blueberries. We even found some
- 3:20raspberries that were ripe, and we picked them
- 3:24and picked them, and we called that the gates
- 3:26of heaven. Amen. And so why did I tell you that?
- 3:33Oh, because when we were at that site and I was
- 3:40setting up the tent, I just felt the Lord speak
- 3:44to me and drop in my heart something that He's
- 3:51going to do, that He's going to send the moving
- 3:56of His Spirit. That he is going to breathe on
- 4:01our city and in this region fresh life. That
- 4:08he is going to move in power. And I was setting
- 4:10up the tent there. And I just, the presence of
- 4:13the Lord. And you know, it was all good. It wasn't
- 4:17like... It was a great time with my family. It
- 4:20wasn't a prayer retreat for me this week at all.
- 4:23But in that moment, the presence of God came
- 4:27upon me. And I knew God's going to bring revival.
- 4:33He is going to bring the moving of His Spirit.
- 4:38That may or may not... mean anything to you.
- 4:41You might be sitting there saying, well, what
- 4:43do you mean by the moving of God's Spirit? What
- 4:46do you mean by God's going to bring revival?
- 4:50What do you mean by that? And what I mean by
- 4:55that is that there have been different times
- 4:57and seasons throughout history that God just
- 5:02sovereignly moves by His Spirit. Sometimes it's
- 5:06in response to people calling out to him, which
- 5:11is why we need to increase prayer, which is why
- 5:14we're having summer nights of prayer on Wednesdays.
- 5:18And so sometimes it's in response to a hungry
- 5:23heart seeking after God. But sometimes it's simply
- 5:28a sovereign move of His Spirit. God just chooses
- 5:34this moment in this time, and He begins to do
- 5:38things that only He can do. And the New Testament
- 5:42church is really... in the last hundred years,
- 5:47really since Azusa Street and a little bit before
- 5:50that, the church began to realize that we can
- 5:55experience what the New Testament church experienced.
- 6:01We can have the same encounters that the New
- 6:04Testament church had. And then as that grew,
- 6:07as that grew in the hearts of men, they begin
- 6:11to say, not only can we, but we don't want to
- 6:14settle for anything less than that. That's what
- 6:18we're believing for. That's what we're praying
- 6:20for. And you have moments of history that God
- 6:23broke in and did great things. Now, there are
- 6:26some times where you catch, you know, on a trip
- 6:29like ours, that I've had taken in the last couple,
- 6:34in the last month I've had two trips up there,
- 6:37you know, and I don't catch fish in nets up there.
- 6:40I catch them with a line one at a time. And there
- 6:45are times where God catches people one at a time.
- 6:50Here and there. Catch this one. Catch that one.
- 6:57But I believe And I'm thankful for that. Some
- 7:02of you got saved all by yourself. You came to
- 7:04Christ all by yourself. You were the only one.
- 7:07Maybe you were all alone. And I'm thankful for
- 7:11that, and I don't want to diminish the ones and
- 7:14the twos and how God works here a little, there
- 7:18a little, because it is God that does it just
- 7:21the same. Amen? But the time for needing the
- 7:26nets, is coming where you don't catch one or
- 7:32two for dinner here or there, where you throw
- 7:36the nets out and the nets get full of fish and
- 7:41you bring in the fish, not in the ones and the
- 7:46twos, but in the dozens and the dozens and the
- 7:49dozens and the dozens. Hallelujah. Glory to God.
- 7:54And this is what begins to happen in what we
- 7:57would call a move of God in the land is that
- 8:00many people begin to come under conviction all
- 8:05at the same time. There comes in the life of
- 8:09a group of people, families, cities, all groups
- 8:14of people, a desire to get right with God and
- 8:19walk in repentance. Praise the Lord. And the
- 8:25New Testament church, they walked in that. They
- 8:28saw it. They saw multitudes come to Christ. Multitudes.
- 8:39And I want to read this story. This might seem
- 8:42like an odd story to read, but it's been speaking
- 8:45to my heart because we need to make it easy for
- 8:48people to come to Christ. not more difficult.
- 8:53And certain men came down from Judea and taught
- 8:56the brethren, this is the Gentile brethren, unless
- 9:02you are circumcised according to the custom of
- 9:05Moses, you cannot be saved. Therefore, when Paul
- 9:17and Barnabas had no small dissension and dispute
- 9:20with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas
- 9:25and certain others of them should go up to Jerusalem
- 9:27to the apostles and elders about this question.
- 9:35So circumcision was the sign of the Jews and
- 9:39it was a portion of following the law. Well,
- 9:43the law was what Jesus came to fulfill. Jesus
- 9:47fulfilled it. And the law teaches us what sin
- 9:54is. So they sent Paul and Barnabas on their way
- 10:01by the church. They passed through Phoenicia
- 10:04and Samaria, describing the conversion of the
- 10:08Gentiles. And they caused great joy to all the
- 10:14brethren. And when they had come to Jerusalem,
- 10:17they were received by the church and the apostles
- 10:20and the elders. And they reported all the things
- 10:23that God had done with them. But some of the
- 10:27sect of the Pharisees who believed in Christ
- 10:31rose up saying, it is necessary to circumcise
- 10:36them and to command them to keep the law of Moses.
- 10:42And can I tell you that this teaching still persists
- 10:46today? That if you want to follow Jesus correctly,
- 10:52you've got to follow the law. If you want to
- 10:58do it rightly, you've got to be circumcised.
- 11:05And all 600 and some laws of the Old Testament,
- 11:08you've got to keep them all. And so these Pharisees
- 11:14had come to Christ and they trusted in Christ,
- 11:17but they said, we've also, as we trust Christ,
- 11:21got to follow the law. Now the apostles, now
- 11:26this is an important question. You see, seven
- 11:29to ten years before, was when Peter had the vision
- 11:35to go to Cornelius' house. He had a vision of
- 11:38unclean animals. He was on his rooftop praying,
- 11:42and he had this vision of unclean animals, and
- 11:47this vision came to Peter, and the voice that
- 11:51he heard was, rise, Peter, kill, and eat. And
- 11:56he was appalled, disgusted by this vision. He
- 12:01was like, Lord, nothing unclean has ever touched
- 12:05my mouth. You want me to eat these unclean animals?
- 12:11And the vision happened three times. And what
- 12:18God was really showing Peter was that Peter,
- 12:23you thought that salvation was only for the Jews,
- 12:26but salvation is for the Gentiles as well. Now
- 12:31that encounter that Peter had happened seven
- 12:34to ten years before. And so the church had, through
- 12:39the leadership of Peter, this Jewish church had
- 12:44opened up its heart to see that the salvation
- 12:48that Jesus brings is not just for the Jews, but
- 12:52it's also for the Gentiles. So the church had
- 12:55come to the place where they understood that
- 12:59salvation was not just for Jewish people, but
- 13:03that it was for whosoever will. But that created,
- 13:08although everybody rejoiced as they watched God
- 13:11move among the Gentiles, and now through Paul's
- 13:15ministry, they all rejoiced about it, but it
- 13:19also created tension. And it created problems.
- 13:25Because the Jewish people who grew up in their
- 13:28Jewishness, who had all of these traditions and
- 13:31different things that they celebrated and different
- 13:35ways that they lived because of the law of Moses,
- 13:39when they trusted Christ, they did not just immediately
- 13:42abandon all of those things. They continued to
- 13:45keep those things as part of their tradition.
- 13:50And do you know what? The Holy Spirit never convicted
- 13:53them about it or told them to stop. It was okay
- 13:56for the Jewish people to maintain some of those
- 14:01Jewish traditions in the midst of following Christ.
- 14:06And in fact, Jesus is the fulfillment of all
- 14:11of those traditions. The Jewish traditions are
- 14:14fascinating. The revelation of Jesus is in those
- 14:21traditions. And it's awesome. But now these Gentiles,
- 14:29who did not grow up with any of that Jewishness,
- 14:34are coming to Christ. And guess what they're
- 14:40not doing? They are not following the laws of
- 14:44Moses. They are not. intertwining with any of
- 14:51those things. They didn't grow up with it. It
- 14:53was not a part of who they are. You know what
- 14:55they're just doing in their Gentileness? They're
- 14:57just trying to follow Jesus as best as they can.
- 15:01And that's probably where most of us are at.
- 15:06Gentile people. Not grown up in any kind of religion.
- 15:14But here they are. turning to Christ. And it
- 15:19bothered some of the Pharisaical believers. And
- 15:25they came and preached. Okay, yes, you've got
- 15:30to follow Jesus, but now you've got to do this,
- 15:33you've got to do that. And they started preaching
- 15:36the law of Moses to these beautiful Gentile believers.
- 15:43And it angered Paul and Barnabas. And they broke
- 15:48out and they were protecting these Gentiles.
- 15:51Let them follow Christ. Let them follow Christ.
- 15:58And there's some of that in us. We look at people
- 16:02and we say their lives aren't perfect yet. We
- 16:05see that their lives are not perfect yet. And
- 16:08we want them to do this and do that and all of
- 16:10these things. But I'm telling you that if they've
- 16:15got the real thing, if they've given their life
- 16:18for real to Jesus, and the Holy Spirit is leading
- 16:23them, guess what's going to happen? They're going
- 16:25to start walking in line with Christ. The Holy
- 16:30Spirit is very good at his job. Somebody say
- 16:34amen to that. So the apostles... we're considering
- 16:39this question. What is the place of circumcision?
- 16:42What is the place of all of this in the lives
- 16:44of the Gentiles? Is everybody with me so far?
- 16:51And when there had been much dispute, verse 7,
- 16:55Peter rose up and said to them, men and brethren,
- 16:58you know that a good while ago God chose among
- 17:03us that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear
- 17:09the word of the gospel and believe. He's referring
- 17:13to Cornelius in Acts chapter 10. You can read
- 17:16that on your own time. So God, who knows the
- 17:21heart, everybody say knows the heart, acknowledged
- 17:26them by giving them the Holy Spirit just as he
- 17:31did to us. and made no distinction between us
- 17:37and them, purifying their hearts by faith. Isn't
- 17:43this a good story? This is Peter now, the cornerstone
- 17:48apostle talking about to this meeting. Now therefore,
- 17:53Why do you test God? By putting a yoke on the
- 17:58neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers
- 18:01nor we were able to bear. But we believe that
- 18:07through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, we
- 18:11shall be saved in the same manner as they. Oh,
- 18:15this is a good moment. This is a good moment
- 18:18because the Pharisaical believers who were preaching
- 18:23the wrong message, trying to put a yoke on all
- 18:27the other believers, got rebuked by Peter and
- 18:31said, no, we're not going to have any of that.
- 18:35It is not by works that we are saved. We are
- 18:40saved by grace through faith. Hallelujah. In
- 18:45his name. And Peter wanted to make sure the Gentiles
- 18:51are saved by grace through faith, and we are
- 18:55also saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus.
- 19:02when you try to add to it, when you try to put
- 19:06rules on people, when you try to conform people
- 19:09into your image, you are not discipling them
- 19:13unto Christ. You are trying to conform them to
- 19:17what you think that they should be like. And
- 19:20that is not the role of the church. And Peter
- 19:24was saying, leave them alone. I love this story.
- 19:36Then all the multitude kept silent. They listened
- 19:42to Barnabas and Paul declaring how many miracles
- 19:47and wonders God had worked through them among
- 19:51the Gentiles. When I read that, I say, God, may
- 19:56that be the story of Faith Church. May we be
- 20:00able to go around and tell of all the wonders
- 20:02and the miracles that God is doing in Lincoln,
- 20:06Illinois. Hallelujah. Somebody on the Lincoln,
- 20:10one of the Lincoln website or the Facebook groups
- 20:13said, hey, can somebody open up restaurants on
- 20:18Sunday morning so that tourists will come to
- 20:22Sunday morning. Did anybody else see that post
- 20:25about 10 days ago? Jamie, you saw that post.
- 20:27I read that. I read that. And the Lord spoke
- 20:31to me and said, tourists are going to come to
- 20:36Lincoln, Illinois to see the good things that
- 20:40they've heard that God is doing. I want to say
- 20:44that again. tourists are going to come to Lincoln,
- 20:48Illinois to hear, to see with their own eyes,
- 20:52is it true what I've heard about that God is
- 20:56doing in the city? Hallelujah. I believe that
- 21:00with my whole heart. And they told of all the
- 21:04wonders that had happened among the Gentiles.
- 21:08And after they had become silent, James, this
- 21:12is the half -brother of Jesus, Now an apostle
- 21:16and a leader in the church answered and said,
- 21:21men and brethren, listen to me. Simon has declared,
- 21:27that's Peter, has declared how God at the first
- 21:30visited the Gentiles to take out of them a people
- 21:36for his name. And with this, the words of the
- 21:39prophets agree. Hallelujah. Just as it is written,
- 21:45now this is from Amos chapter 9. James is quoting
- 21:49from Amos chapter 9. After this, I will return
- 21:53and I will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which
- 21:59has fallen down. I will rebuild its ruins and
- 22:04I will set it up so that the rest of mankind
- 22:07may seek the Lord. Even all the Gentiles who
- 22:11are called by my name, says the Lord who does
- 22:15all these things. Hallelujah. And known to God
- 22:21from eternity are all his works. Therefore, I
- 22:25judge that we should not trouble those from among
- 22:28the Gentiles who are turning to God, but that
- 22:31we write to them to abstain from things polluted
- 22:35by idols, from sexual immorality, from things
- 22:39strangled, and from blood. For Moses has throughout
- 22:44many generations those who preach him in every
- 22:47city being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.
- 22:53So we'll come back to that in a moment. Then
- 22:56it pleased the apostles and the elders with the
- 22:58whole church to send chosen men of their own
- 23:02company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas, namely
- 23:05Judas, who was also named Barsabbas, and Silas,
- 23:09leading men among the brethren. They wrote this
- 23:13letter by them. The apostles, the elders, and
- 23:16the brethren, to the brethren who are of the
- 23:18Gentiles in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia, greetings.
- 23:23Since we have heard that some who went out from
- 23:25us have troubled you with words, unsettling your
- 23:30souls, saying you must be circumcised and keep
- 23:33the law. to whom we gave no such commandment,
- 23:37it seemed good to us, being assembled with one
- 23:40accord, to send chosen men to you with our beloved
- 23:44Barnabas and Paul, men who have risked their
- 23:47lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- 23:50We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who will
- 23:53also report the same things by word of mouth,
- 23:57for it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to
- 24:00us to lay upon you no greater burden than these
- 24:05necessary things, that you abstain from things
- 24:08offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled,
- 24:12and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves
- 24:16from these, you do well. Farewell. So when they
- 24:24were sent off, they came to Antioch, and when
- 24:27they had gathered the multitude together, they
- 24:29delivered the letter. When they had read it,
- 24:32they rejoiced over its encouragement. Now Judas
- 24:35and Silas themselves, being prophets also, exhorted
- 24:39and strengthened the brethren with many words.
- 24:44And I see them prophesying over the people there.
- 24:48And after they had stayed there for a time, they
- 24:52were sent back with greetings from the brethren
- 24:54to the apostles. However, it seemed good to Silas
- 24:58to remain there. Paul and Barnabas also remained
- 25:01in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of
- 25:05the Lord with many others also. The move of God.
- 25:11The move of God. Moving from city to city, from
- 25:16people group. people group. Quickly, why those
- 25:21four things? Those four things for three reasons.
- 25:27One, because they needed to come out of their
- 25:37idolatry to follow Christ. These Gentiles, many
- 25:42of them were steeped in idolatry. and they needed
- 25:46to come out of their idolatry to follow Christ.
- 25:51You cannot serve two masters, and the message
- 25:55of the gospel is repent and turn to God. Well,
- 26:00if you're going to repent, you're going to turn
- 26:02to God, but you're also going to turn away from
- 26:06something. And so that message to give up your
- 26:11idolatry to follow Jesus is clear. And if you're
- 26:18going to follow Jesus, friends, it's going to
- 26:21be because you turn your back on some things
- 26:24in your life. The stuff that's dominated you
- 26:27can dominate you no longer. You have a new master.
- 26:30His name is Jesus. Come out from among them.
- 26:35The second thing, that they were cautious of,
- 26:40is that they wanted to build a bridge to the
- 26:46Jews in their cities. And if they're eating strangled
- 26:52animals and blood and calling themselves Christians
- 26:57and preaching to the Jewish people to come to
- 27:02Christ, What do you think will happen? Will any
- 27:06of the Jews come to Jesus? No, they won't. And
- 27:11so part of this message is, we want you to remove
- 27:14the stumbling block that can exist so that others
- 27:21will come to Jesus easily. And you know what
- 27:26that is, friends? That's called love. I am not
- 27:31going to live in such a way that is going to
- 27:36keep others from Christ. If you get nothing else
- 27:42from this message this morning, I want you to
- 27:45hear that. I am not going to live in such a way
- 27:50that will keep others from coming to Christ.
- 28:01I want to live in such a way that I am not a
- 28:05stumbling block. Yeah, but pastor, aren't I free?
- 28:09Don't use your freedom to do things that will
- 28:14cause others to stumble. But use your freedom
- 28:20to create the opportunity for others to come
- 28:24to Christ. It's called love. We build bridges
- 28:32to people. We build bridges to people. And thirdly,
- 28:41the command, these four commands, especially
- 28:48the call to come out from sexual immorality.
- 28:56This is a major call to our nation. Because sexual
- 29:05immorality causes so much harm in a person's
- 29:15life. Paul said in nearly every one of his letters,
- 29:20warning against sexual immorality of all different
- 29:26kinds. He who sins sexually sins against his
- 29:32own body. You cannot live in sexual immorality
- 29:38and walk in the blessing of God. The two do not
- 29:42exist. The two do not exist. And they wrote this
- 29:49to... provide the protection on these new believers
- 29:55to keep them from the schemes of the enemy. America,
- 30:01I have watched over the last 20 years and 10
- 30:04years and five years, America go off the rails
- 30:08with sexual immorality of types that were rare
- 30:15even in the wild days of the 60s and the 70s.
- 30:21Before I was born, some of you remember those
- 30:23days. The free love days. But it is that immorality
- 30:31that harms each individual. When you sin sexually,
- 30:37you're sinning against your own life. And so
- 30:43they wrote this in there to be a protection of
- 30:46that new faith that they had in Jesus Christ.
- 30:51Hallelujah. And so our message of purity is not
- 30:57one of condemnation. to the nation or to people
- 31:02groups or to individuals who are digging their
- 31:06heels and saying, I want my freedom. We are not
- 31:10condemning people. We are calling people out
- 31:14of the stuff that keeps them in bondage and keeps
- 31:18them in captivity and in to the blessing of the
- 31:22Lord. Hallelujah. And so you'll read it in the
- 31:26New Testament over and over and over and over.
- 31:30Keep yourself sexually pure. Hallelujah. Praise
- 31:38God. If I preach this as much as Paul did, you
- 31:43might get tired of me talking about it. But this
- 31:47is a point of prayer for our nation. It is way,
- 31:52way, way, way more common. For people to live
- 31:58together now than to get married. But they are
- 32:02sinning against their own body and condemning
- 32:06their own souls when they're trying to live for
- 32:13God at the same time and it cannot work. And
- 32:17so they told them these three things. Come out
- 32:19from your former way of life. Build a bridge
- 32:23and love the people around you. Don't live in
- 32:25such a way as to be a stumbling block. And keep
- 32:29your heart, your body, your vessel pure sexually.
- 32:38And if you'll do those three things in four commands,
- 32:43you will do well. You will find favor with God.
- 32:51And I love how Peter just boiled 700 commandments
- 32:58of the law down to four. He said, we don't expect
- 33:06you to follow 700 of them. But will you follow
- 33:11four? And they all said, yeah. They rejoiced
- 33:17at the encouragement. of the letter. These people,
- 33:23they came and they were teaching us all this
- 33:25stuff, and it unsettled us, and we didn't feel,
- 33:29we don't know what to think. And that letter
- 33:32set them free, and they said, yes, we can follow
- 33:38God. Friends, I believe that God is about to
- 33:43make a highway. I'm going to preach another message
- 33:45about the passage from Amos. That James quoted.
- 33:51The tabernacle of David. God reestablishing the
- 33:57tabernacle of David. He's going to do it again.
- 34:00He's doing it now. He's going to do it again.
- 34:03And people are going to stream. People are going
- 34:06to stream to the presence of God. Hallelujah.
- 34:11From every tribe, tongue, and nation. We're going
- 34:14to see it. We're going to see the move of God.
- 34:20Some of you don't know your place yet in the
- 34:23kingdom, in the church. You're here for a reason
- 34:27right now. You are foundational. You are foundational
- 34:33to this house. Tell that to the person you're
- 34:36sitting next to. You're important. You matter.
- 34:40You might not believe it, but I'm telling you
- 34:45to believe it. You are a part. And God is going
- 34:52to use you. I want to close with a passage in
- 34:59Genesis chapter 4 that has touched my heart my
- 35:07whole life. In Genesis chapter 4, the whole event
- 35:16with Cain and Abel, the family of Cain, All of
- 35:24this. And then the very last sentence, the very
- 35:30last sentence does not fit in, seemingly, with
- 35:34the chapter before it or after it. The very last
- 35:39sentence was this. Then men began to call on
- 35:44the name of the Lord. The last sentence of Genesis
- 35:514. Then men began to call on the name of the
- 35:56Lord. This was a sovereign move of God at that
- 36:05moment in time. People just started getting right
- 36:11with God. It just happened. How many of you have
- 36:18prayed and prayed and prayed and prayed and prayed
- 36:20and prayed and prayed and prayed for revival?
- 36:22You prayed and prayed and prayed and prayed and
- 36:24prayed and prayed for a move of God. And you've
- 36:26seen a few things happen, but your soul has not
- 36:29been satisfied yet. And here, along this sentence,
- 36:36just described this time period about the people
- 36:41in that entire region. Then men begin to call
- 36:45on the name of the Lord. It suddenly began to
- 36:50happen. People started praying. People started
- 36:55getting interested in the things of the Holy
- 36:57Spirit. People started caring about their relationship
- 37:02with God. Up until that point, they blew it off.
- 37:06They didn't think about it. They lived however
- 37:07they wanted. They did things for themselves.
- 37:10But at this time in history, men began to call
- 37:14on the name of the Lord. And I believe we're
- 37:18about to enter into such a time. I believe we're
- 37:21about to step into a moment like this where people,
- 37:25not because of this church or that church or
- 37:27anything that they've done right or wrong or
- 37:30any of that, but God begins to move on a city
- 37:33and God begins to touch hearts and lives and
- 37:36people begin to waken in their heart and something
- 37:40moves inside of them that wasn't there before
- 37:43and they begin to say, I gotta know this God,
- 37:47that God is real. I didn't think he was. I didn't.
- 37:50think he was paying attention, but he is paying
- 37:52attention. I've got to turn my life to him. I've
- 37:57got to begin to pray. I've got to begin to seek.
- 38:00Hallelujah. And God is going to cause people
- 38:04to sovereignly move on his heart. Some of you
- 38:08have family members that you've twisted and twisted
- 38:11and twisted and twisted and tried to get them
- 38:14to step into their calling and get to church,
- 38:17get to church, get to church, get to church,
- 38:19get to church, get to church, get to church.
- 38:23And you've said it so many times that you quit
- 38:25saying it because you just gave up. But then
- 38:28all of the sudden, God is going to move in their
- 38:33heart and life and they are going to begin to
- 38:36call on the name of the Lord and it is going
- 38:39to happen in Jesus' name. Thank you, Lord. Do
- 38:44you feel hope this morning? Do you feel hope
- 38:47in life? Thank you, Father. Thank you, Father.
- 38:51And so, Lord, we see you moving in Acts chapter
- 38:5415. You made a way. God, if they would have made
- 39:00the wrong decision in that moment, if they in
- 39:03this moment would have said, oh, they have to
- 39:06follow the whole law. If in this moment they
- 39:12would have said that, they would have put an
- 39:16end to the move of God. Lord, I pray that you
- 39:23would convict your church when they make it harder
- 39:25than it really is to come to Christ. When they
- 39:29say you've got to get all your ducks in a row
- 39:31before you come to Jesus. You can't just come
- 39:36as you are. You've got to change everything first.
- 39:42Lord, I pray that you would forgive your church
- 39:44for having that kind of a mentality. God, you
- 39:49said, whosoever will call on the name of the
- 39:52Lord shall be saved. And I ask God that the way
- 39:58would be made easy for people to come to Jesus
- 40:05in this last hour in the name of the Lord. I
- 40:09pray that it would just be very easy for people
- 40:13to turn to God. These Gentiles turning to God.
- 40:19Turning to God. I pray that it would be said
- 40:24of Lincoln, Illinois. that it turned to God.
- 40:29In every neighborhood, in every street, God,
- 40:33in every corner of this city, in Jesus' name,
- 40:38then people begin to call on the name of the
- 40:43Lord. God, we are expectant. God, we believe.
- 40:57We're looking to you to move by your spirit.
- 41:03Thank you, Father. The grace of God shed abroad
- 41:09in this city to turn hearts in high places and
- 41:16low places, in every social class. Oh, God. Oh,
- 41:28God, we feel your promise. We hear your calling.
- 41:33We ask, God, that you would move and have your
- 41:38way. Have your way. You're going to bring revival.
- 41:47You're going to do it, God, by your Spirit. Hallelujah.
- 41:58Hallelujah. Thank you, Father. Just take just
- 42:01a moment here and just, in your own words, just
- 42:04ask God to move by His Spirit. God, we've made
- 42:09it so hard for people. God, I ask that it would
- 42:13just be very easy for people to come to Christ.
- 42:18Oh, Lord Jesus, have your way. Oh, Lord Jesus,
- 42:24move. Oh, Lord Jesus, move. Thank you, Father.
- 42:31The people that feel like they are last, you
- 42:34are making them first. God, you are calling the
- 42:40people in the hedges and the highways and the
- 42:42byways, the people in the obscure positions and
- 42:47places of life to see that the Father's house
- 42:52is full. To see that the Father's house is full.
- 43:01Oh God, oh God, oh God. Fill up your house, we
- 43:06pray. Fill up your house, we pray. Oh Jesus.
- 43:15Oh Jesus. Jesus, move.
