- 0:03Speaker 1: Logan Gilbert of the Seattle Mariners is here, Logan, great
- 0:07Speaker 1: to have you on. Thank you for spending some time
- 0:09Speaker 1: with us during the bye week here while you watch
- 0:11Speaker 1: the other team slug it out.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Great to have you on.
- 0:14Speaker 3: How you doing, Hey, all good? Thanks for having me on, guys.
- 0:18Speaker 1: So, Logan, it's crazy. This is already your fifth season
- 0:22Speaker 1: pitching in the bigs, pitching for Seattle. I'm gonna give
- 0:24Speaker 1: you a layup to start. I'm guessing you haven't seen
- 0:27Speaker 1: Seattle quite like this over the last couple months. Really,
- 0:31Speaker 1: maybe call it since the trade deadline. What has it
- 0:34Speaker 1: been like over the last couple of months versus what
- 0:36Speaker 1: you experienced in your first four years.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean the team, the whole team is probably
- 0:42Speaker 3: the most complete I've ever seen it since I've been here.
- 0:46Speaker 3: One of the best lineups in the league and probably
- 0:49Speaker 3: the most complete top to bottom. And then you know,
- 0:52Speaker 3: we've had good pitching for a long time. I feel
- 0:54Speaker 3: like we set up good pitching, our bullpens, really good
- 0:57Speaker 3: Mooney on the back ends, one of the best closers.
- 0:59Speaker 3: So I think, all the way around, just one of
- 1:01Speaker 3: the most complete teams probably.
- 1:04Speaker 4: Logan, did you you guys had the scrimmage game? Was
- 1:07Speaker 4: it yesterday? You guys had the scrimmage game to try
- 1:10Speaker 4: to stay sharp.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Did you pitch in that? Uh?
- 1:13Speaker 3: No, it was mostly bullpen guys. It was just like
- 1:15Speaker 3: a five inning game, so them getting some work. We
- 1:18Speaker 3: got another one today and each ye row was out
- 1:21Speaker 3: there in right field too, so that was pretty cool.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:24Speaker 4: Well, my question was why didn't you do it like
- 1:25Speaker 4: the Phillies didn't open it up to fans. Phillies had
- 1:28Speaker 4: thirty one thousand people at their scrimmage game last night.
- 1:31Speaker 4: And second of all, do you think you could punch
- 1:33Speaker 4: each Ro's ticket if you got the chance to face him?
- 1:36Speaker 4: He is like fifty years old, so you think you
- 1:38Speaker 4: could punch his ticket if if he faced him?
- 1:41Speaker 3: I would love to try that. He might humble me, though,
- 1:44Speaker 3: so I actually don't know if I want that. He
- 1:47Speaker 3: still got it for sure, putting work every day in
- 1:49Speaker 3: the cage. You hear him in there, so I really
- 1:52Speaker 3: don't know if I could or not. But we did
- 1:54Speaker 3: have fans. We had like five thousand out there. They
- 1:57Speaker 3: kept it to five thousand, but we're still able to
- 2:00Speaker 3: get some fans in there.
- 2:02Speaker 5: Wait, okay, the bullpen guys threw. Is there a more
- 2:05Speaker 5: complaining group of people than bullpen pitchers. I throw too much,
- 2:09Speaker 5: I don't throw enough, and now you have a whole
- 2:12Speaker 5: scrimmage that's just built around those guys.
- 2:16Speaker 3: I can't say a word because it's going to get back,
- 2:20Speaker 3: and those guys have saved way too many of my
- 2:22Speaker 3: runs for me to ever say a word. So I
- 2:25Speaker 3: love those guys. I hope they get all the rest
- 2:28Speaker 3: that they want. If they throw, that's great, But they've
- 2:31Speaker 3: helped me out of time rest.
- 2:33Speaker 5: That's really what I was bringing it up for rest.
- 2:36Speaker 5: You guys got the buy not last year, the years before.
- 2:39Speaker 5: Everyone's like, oh, this team they sat, it's no good.
- 2:43Speaker 5: The buye is terrible. Even one of the guys on
- 2:45Speaker 5: our show, Tod Frazier's, has said about it. What's the
- 2:48Speaker 5: feeling in your locker room when you guys knew you
- 2:51Speaker 5: were getting the by and now that you're in it
- 2:53Speaker 5: and you're rested, our hitters like this is great. I
- 2:57Speaker 5: feel like it's the first day of the season or
- 2:59Speaker 5: the like I can't ever get a hit against another
- 3:02Speaker 5: big league pitcher again.
- 3:04Speaker 3: I think. I mean, if you get to a point
- 3:06Speaker 3: where you earn and buy it's a big deal. And
- 3:09Speaker 3: I think we're in a good position where you're one
- 3:11Speaker 3: hundred and sixty games in. You gotta let the body
- 3:13Speaker 3: rest for a day or two. That's that's a really
- 3:14Speaker 3: big deal as a hitter, as a pitcher. So it's
- 3:18Speaker 3: not an excuse to show up if you win a
- 3:20Speaker 3: game or lose a game, if you had to buy
- 3:22Speaker 3: or not, it's the best team's gonna win the game.
- 3:25Speaker 3: I don't think it should be an excuse ever. And
- 3:27Speaker 3: like I said, if you get some rest right now,
- 3:29Speaker 3: that's a really big deal.
- 3:32Speaker 4: All right, Logan, I got a flat to Seattle tomorrow
- 3:34Speaker 4: to do your series here for Fox.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Okay, So.
- 3:38Speaker 4: Have they told you what game you're pitching so I
- 3:39Speaker 4: can start doing prep?
- 3:40Speaker 3: Have they have?
- 3:41Speaker 2: They said, because we keep asking and nobody will tell us.
- 3:44Speaker 2: So have they told you who's starting Game one? Are
- 3:46Speaker 2: you starting Game one? Two?
- 3:47Speaker 3: Three?
- 3:47Speaker 2: Where were we at here?
- 3:49Speaker 1: Well?
- 3:49Speaker 3: I guess it hasn't. Nothing's been announced, so we're still
- 3:53Speaker 3: waiting to say.
- 3:54Speaker 5: You know though, you know, so just give me a.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Twice.
- 4:01Speaker 3: We didn't. Yeah, I didn't know if it was announced yet.
- 4:04Speaker 3: I mean, you just told me. I guess it wasn't announced.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Or I don't know what what the schedule is. I
- 4:10Speaker 3: think that's the answer I'm supposed to say, yeah.
- 4:13Speaker 4: But we don't want the answer you're supposed to say.
- 4:15Speaker 4: I want the answer of when you're pitching. Dang it,
- 4:17Speaker 4: I don't so I'm gonna say game two. I'm just
- 4:20Speaker 4: gonna throw Game two out there and just wink or
- 4:22Speaker 4: smile if it's game two, Game.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Two, perfect, got it, thank you.
- 4:26Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 4:29Speaker 5: Does it matter? Does it matter to you what game
- 4:32Speaker 5: you pitched? I know everyone's gonna say just whatever for
- 4:34Speaker 5: the team, whatever the boys, But is there like you know,
- 4:39Speaker 5: kind of like an opening day feel, everybody's gonna have
- 4:42Speaker 5: enough rest to throw. Does it matter which game you throw?
- 4:47Speaker 3: I think everybody wants the ballgame one, to be honest,
- 4:50Speaker 3: that's that's a big deal. But only one guy's gonna
- 4:52Speaker 3: get it. And fortunately we're on a team where we
- 4:55Speaker 3: got four or five guys that I think could have
- 4:57Speaker 3: the ballgame one, So we're gonna be on a good
- 4:59Speaker 3: spot either way. And when it comes your turn and
- 5:01Speaker 3: you're out there in a playoff game, you're not gonna
- 5:02Speaker 3: be wondering or complaining about which game you got the
- 5:05Speaker 3: ball in. Your hands. It's gonna be a lot of fun.
- 5:08Speaker 5: How's Brian Wu? How's that inflamed pectoral muscle which I've
- 5:13Speaker 5: never heard of before? But how's he feeling?
- 5:17Speaker 3: Uh, he's feeling good. I checked in with him yesterday.
- 5:19Speaker 3: I think he has a bullpen today and everything's been
- 5:22Speaker 3: going really good from what I've heard. So we're I guess,
- 5:26Speaker 3: pretty confident to have him back soon.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Okay, I'm gonna ask you the easiest question you've ever
- 5:31Speaker 4: had to answer in your life.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Right now? Who's the American League MVP?
- 5:36Speaker 3: It's Coal right, it's gotta be.
- 5:38Speaker 2: I mean, right, why you're asking me. I've been banging
- 5:40Speaker 2: this drum for months now, you're on his team.
- 5:43Speaker 3: You tell me if you count the homer yesterday in
- 5:46Speaker 3: the scrimmage. So I'm counting doing homers as a catcher.
- 5:50Speaker 3: That's It's a big deal what he's doing.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Who do you go deep off of yesterday?
- 5:56Speaker 3: Oh gosh, I was a bizardo I think?
- 6:01Speaker 2: Yeah, Okay, all right, that's fair. That's fair. Do you
- 6:04Speaker 2: know he had zero pass balls this year?
- 6:07Speaker 3: I just saw that came out. That's that's pretty cool.
- 6:09Speaker 3: I had no idea.
- 6:11Speaker 4: I mean, platinumli sixty one homers.
- 6:14Speaker 2: I mean, he's a.
- 6:15Speaker 3: MVP for me, just to be nobody's done it.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Well, Logan, I'm sure you've seen this. I mean, there
- 6:22Speaker 1: is a very large contingent of the baseball community that
- 6:26Speaker 1: thinks that Aaron Judge should win the award. And obviously
- 6:30Speaker 1: I'm not gonna have you knock or say, you know, hey,
- 6:33Speaker 1: this is what he's better than. But for me, what
- 6:35Speaker 1: I'd like to get is more depth within how a
- 6:39Speaker 1: catcher's importance like cal is to the team that you know,
- 6:44Speaker 1: maybe numbers can't describe, right. I think often the MVP
- 6:48Speaker 1: award is becoming a war award, and those two are close.
- 6:52Speaker 1: But Judge does have the advantage. He has the advantage
- 6:54Speaker 1: on some some park in league adjusted statistics like ops plus,
- 6:58Speaker 1: like he's two thirteen cols one eighty or whatever it is. Right,
- 7:02Speaker 1: So I think coming from you, it's important to understand
- 7:05Speaker 1: how much of a difference maker he is in a
- 7:07Speaker 1: number of different components. And if you can mix this
- 7:10Speaker 1: into the conversation we have two catchers on our show
- 7:12Speaker 1: every day. Is a catcher more important than an outfielder
- 7:16Speaker 1: or basically any other position player?
- 7:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean if you're talking most valuable player, it's
- 7:22Speaker 3: got to be everything right, and the toughest position. Number
- 7:25Speaker 3: one is catcher, for sure is the hardest position. The
- 7:28Speaker 3: most goes into it, the most is required of you.
- 7:31Speaker 3: So he's hitting sixty home runs, banged up, getting a
- 7:34Speaker 3: foul ball or I spike one and it hits his
- 7:37Speaker 3: neck and then he turns around and hits a home
- 7:39Speaker 3: where the next sit bat Like things he's doing has
- 7:41Speaker 3: never been done before. You mix in him working with
- 7:45Speaker 3: twelve different pitchers, knowing what works for them, how to
- 7:48Speaker 3: get him back on track, the game planning every day.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Most prepared guy I've ever seen. So we're talking about
- 7:55Speaker 3: most valuable player. I think he brings everything to the
- 7:58Speaker 3: table in a position that require so much out of you.
- 8:02Speaker 5: All Right, so the kids call that glazing bro, Like
- 8:05Speaker 5: you're totally glazing him. I need you to tell us
- 8:09Speaker 5: what his least admirable trait is, Like cal has hit.
- 8:12Speaker 5: Everything he's done this year has been perfect. He has
- 8:15Speaker 5: caught a division winner. He got you guys, you know
- 8:18Speaker 5: through games catching. He won the home run derby his
- 8:21Speaker 5: dad through to him, his brother caught Like it's like perfect,
- 8:25Speaker 5: Like does he smell by the ninth inning, like, is
- 8:28Speaker 5: there something that you're like, ah, man, this really annoys me.
- 8:31Speaker 5: Does he eat loud or anything?
- 8:34Speaker 3: Finally, I've been waiting for that question because yeah, it's
- 8:36Speaker 3: the whole year it's been talking about how how good
- 8:39Speaker 3: cal is. Rightfully so, but yeah, he gets He gets
- 8:43Speaker 3: cranky a lot, especially when you shake him off, and
- 8:46Speaker 3: the starters take exception to this. He's usually right. I'll
- 8:50Speaker 3: give him that, but uh, if we if we shake
- 8:53Speaker 3: him off, he definitely lets us hear about it, and
- 8:55Speaker 3: he gets kind of moody back there.
- 8:58Speaker 4: Let me let me let me explain something to you. Logan,
- 9:01Speaker 4: all catchers get moody and cranky. Wha us off, okay,
- 9:05Speaker 4: because you guys don't know what you're doing, You don't
- 9:08Speaker 4: know what you all think. You all think you're smart,
- 9:11Speaker 4: especially if you went to Stepson. We'll get into that
- 9:13Speaker 4: later or wa Kaiva high school. We're also going to
- 9:15Speaker 4: get into that. But they all think they're smart, okay,
- 9:19Speaker 4: because they were like, oh, I watched a film once
- 9:22Speaker 4: that said I should throw this pit, So understand that's
- 9:25Speaker 4: not just a cow thing. It's every catcher. I'm sure
- 9:28Speaker 4: Garv gets upset if you shake him off, He's like, no,
- 9:31Speaker 4: you gave up a hit. Listen to me. It's not
- 9:33Speaker 4: just col okay, it's every catcher. Just understand that life
- 9:36Speaker 4: would be much easier.
- 9:38Speaker 3: I usually give up a hit two when I end
- 9:40Speaker 3: up shaking so.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Well.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Also, they were roommates, right, You guys have been together
- 9:47Speaker 1: throwing since.
- 9:48Speaker 3: What a ball you know? Yeah? Hyah, yeah, So that.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Becomes a little bit of a step brother the situation,
- 9:55Speaker 1: right because you guys like could finish each other's sentences.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Is the bond even closer because of how much time
- 10:00Speaker 1: you guys have spent and you went through the rugged
- 10:04Speaker 1: minor league life to get to this point.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure. I saw him back then when he
- 10:09Speaker 3: wasn't you know what people are seeing now. So I
- 10:12Speaker 3: feel like we have a good relationship that we can
- 10:14Speaker 3: be honest with each other and you know, not have
- 10:17Speaker 3: to say things perfectly if he wants to get on
- 10:21Speaker 3: me or me on him. We have a good relationship
- 10:23Speaker 3: to help each other out, be accountable, that kind of stuff.
- 10:25Speaker 3: And that goes back to twenty nineteen.
- 10:28Speaker 5: I guess, be honest, what did you see what did
- 10:32Speaker 5: you see cal being when you guys were roommates back
- 10:36Speaker 5: in the day. What did you see? Maybe his ceiling
- 10:40Speaker 5: because you both thought you were going to be big leaguers.
- 10:42Speaker 5: You thought you were going to be an All star,
- 10:43Speaker 5: you know, cy young candidate year in and year out.
- 10:46Speaker 5: What did you see in him?
- 10:49Speaker 3: I remember him getting super hot in high A in
- 10:53Speaker 3: June or something, and he hit like eight homers in
- 10:55Speaker 3: a month or something like that, and I thought, this
- 10:58Speaker 3: is one of the hottest I've seen. This is like
- 11:01Speaker 3: his ceiling. And then he I mean, he's hitting like
- 11:04Speaker 3: ten a month in the show all year this year,
- 11:06Speaker 3: so I thought he, I don't know, maybe hit like
- 11:09Speaker 3: last year thirty homers one hundred RBIs crazy for a catcher,
- 11:13Speaker 3: and then he goes out and doubles it this year.
- 11:16Speaker 3: So I really didn't think he'd get to this point.
- 11:19Speaker 3: But it's pretty cool.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Okay, enough about cal As Crotch.
- 11:23Speaker 4: He said, you've glazed him enough now, Okay, so we're
- 11:25Speaker 4: gonna I want to ask you about the other guys
- 11:27Speaker 4: you picked up at the trade deadline, Gino Suarez and
- 11:30Speaker 4: Josh Naylor. Which one is more fun because they both
- 11:33Speaker 4: seem like a ton of fun to play with And does.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Josh not rock? Does he not rock?
- 11:37Speaker 4: The baby for you guys when he gets these big hits,
- 11:40Speaker 4: he kind of stopped doing that, did you guys take
- 11:42Speaker 4: that away from him?
- 11:43Speaker 3: I'm still waiting to see it. I don't know. I
- 11:44Speaker 3: think it might be a playoff thing, so keep an
- 11:47Speaker 3: eye on it this weekend. We might see it come back.
- 11:50Speaker 3: They're both great. Geno is the man. He's a ton
- 11:52Speaker 3: of fun, clubhouse leader, just you know, kind of brings
- 11:55Speaker 3: to life the energy every day. So just a great guy.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Nails is awesome him to him, I didn't really know
- 12:02Speaker 3: much about him until he got over here. He probably
- 12:05Speaker 3: wants to win, I would say more than anybody I've
- 12:08Speaker 3: ever been around. So he's not on the field trying
- 12:09Speaker 3: to be friends with people on the other team that
- 12:12Speaker 3: kind of stuff. He's locked in every single pitch on
- 12:15Speaker 3: trying to see tips or guessing what the pitcher's gonna throw,
- 12:19Speaker 3: and he's usually right. So like he's he's the most
- 12:21Speaker 3: locked in guy I've seen.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Wow, that's awesome. And what about Gino? Give me some
- 12:27Speaker 2: Geno stories?
- 12:30Speaker 3: Gino, Well, he hit number fifty yesterday in the scrimmage too,
- 12:33Speaker 3: so you got to count that one. So he got
- 12:35Speaker 3: his He's the man, just his whole good vibes only
- 12:41Speaker 3: that's his thing. He brings it every day. Just yeah,
- 12:45Speaker 3: no matter what's going on, he's yelling in the dugout
- 12:48Speaker 3: trying to get everybody fired up. So he brings the energy,
- 12:51Speaker 3: all right.
- 12:52Speaker 5: Travel. Travel has been a real thing, and we've talked
- 12:55Speaker 5: about I think other shows don't talk about it because
- 12:58Speaker 5: they're pro never played guys. We're being honest about the travel.
- 13:03Speaker 5: Can you be honest with us about what it's like
- 13:06Speaker 5: for you guys to travel, not saying that you've experienced
- 13:08Speaker 5: what it is for other teams, but how far does
- 13:12Speaker 5: that stretch into you know, maybe playing and like your
- 13:17Speaker 5: recovery and all those things for you guys on one
- 13:19Speaker 5: hundred and sixty two game season.
- 13:21Speaker 3: Yeah, it's tough. I mean there's no way around it.
- 13:24Speaker 3: I know everybody goes through it. But we travel the
- 13:26Speaker 3: most or one of the most every year and it's
- 13:29Speaker 3: all I've known here, so it's normal. But you know,
- 13:32Speaker 3: you take an east coach trip, You're usually getting in
- 13:34Speaker 3: at three four am every time, and you take five
- 13:38Speaker 3: or six or seven of those a year, so it
- 13:40Speaker 3: adds up. And I was just talking today that's a
- 13:42Speaker 3: big deal. Why we have to buy this week too.
- 13:45Speaker 3: That we travel so much that I think having a
- 13:47Speaker 3: few days or staying in Seattle for more than six
- 13:50Speaker 3: days at a time, it's kind of a big deal
- 13:52Speaker 3: just to get that break.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Well.
- 13:55Speaker 1: And I want to do one nerdy baseball question for you. So,
- 14:00Speaker 1: fastball percentage up this year, strikeouts up this year looks
- 14:04Speaker 1: like maybe that this splitter had a little bit of
- 14:06Speaker 1: a different.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Look to it.
- 14:07Speaker 1: How do you sum up what you did in the
- 14:09Speaker 1: regular season and where do you think the pump up
- 14:12Speaker 1: and strikeouts came from, Like what would you attribute most
- 14:15Speaker 1: to It would be like passball location or anything else
- 14:18Speaker 1: that you think led to the even more swing and miss,
- 14:20Speaker 1: which obviously matters even more in October.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. That's a good question. Honestly, Probably
- 14:26Speaker 3: the splitter, it's probably the easiest answer. I think I
- 14:29Speaker 3: get to two strikes and throw it a lot and
- 14:31Speaker 3: I hope it works out. So we had some success
- 14:35Speaker 3: on that and just trying to get to two strike
- 14:37Speaker 3: counts more often. So it's pretty simple, But how many
- 14:40Speaker 3: two strike counts can you get in over the course
- 14:42Speaker 3: of a season and then throw your best pitch when
- 14:44Speaker 3: it's two strikes and try to get a swing and miss.
- 14:46Speaker 3: Just do that over and over all.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Right, Logan, I got to ask.
- 14:51Speaker 4: I know, I don't know who the answer to this
- 14:53Speaker 4: is going to be, because it's interesting to me. Best
- 14:56Speaker 4: pitcher to come out of Stetson University.
- 15:00Speaker 3: I mean, I'm gonna be wrong either way, right, I
- 15:04Speaker 3: don't know, And so what you say. I'm probably going
- 15:09Speaker 3: with de Grom, but I think they both have two
- 15:12Speaker 3: sty Young's, right, him and Klueber. Yeah, So I don't know.
- 15:18Speaker 3: I'm going with de Grom just because in his prime
- 15:21Speaker 3: he's probably the best pitcher ever.
- 15:23Speaker 4: Okay, Plus I homeer it off Kluber, so it doesn't count,
- 15:25Speaker 4: so he automatically Okay, But so Kluber I saw in
- 15:30Speaker 4: the dugout for Cleveland. So if Cleveland wins and they
- 15:32Speaker 4: fly to Seattle, do you guys have a secret Stetson
- 15:35Speaker 4: handshake that you guys going when you see each other?
- 15:38Speaker 2: Do you guys have like something you do?
- 15:40Speaker 3: Still waiting on that one. I haven't heard about it.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Maybe it's like a cy young thing that just him
- 15:45Speaker 3: and d Grom have. I don't know, but I got
- 15:47Speaker 3: to talk to him once in Boston. Briefly, it seems
- 15:50Speaker 3: like a great guy. So, uh yeah, it's fun having
- 15:53Speaker 3: a Stetson connection around the league. You don't see a
- 15:55Speaker 3: ton of it.
- 15:56Speaker 2: No, there's a few of those. There's Chris Johnson, you Kluber.
- 15:59Speaker 4: I mean, you guys might My wife said to me, man,
- 16:01Speaker 4: Stetson must have a great pitching coach, and I was like, well,
- 16:05Speaker 4: maybe I don't know.
- 16:06Speaker 3: There's something.
- 16:06Speaker 5: There's something in.
- 16:07Speaker 4: The water there because you and Cluver, so I don't know.
- 16:11Speaker 4: But so I'm from Orlando. Okay, you're Scott. We're in
- 16:14Speaker 4: Orlando right now as we speak. So I have to
- 16:17Speaker 4: make the six hour flight to Orlando tomorrow. I mean
- 16:20Speaker 4: to Seattle. From Orlando to Seattle. I mean, you guys
- 16:22Speaker 4: couldn't play closer if you try. I mean, you know,
- 16:24Speaker 4: you guys couldn't just move Seattle to like the middle.
- 16:26Speaker 4: But it's fine, I'll take the six hour flight. What
- 16:29Speaker 4: I want to know is you were born in winter Park,
- 16:30Speaker 4: and for people that aren't from Orlando, winter Park is
- 16:33Speaker 4: like the super rich area. But you didn't go to
- 16:35Speaker 4: winter Park High School. What happened? You went to Wakiva,
- 16:39Speaker 4: which when I went to Doctor Phillips, Wakaiva wasn't even
- 16:42Speaker 4: think it was like the Springs, you know, and it
- 16:44Speaker 4: was a park. But now they have a high school.
- 16:46Speaker 4: So how the heck does a winter Park rich kid
- 16:48Speaker 4: end up at Wakiva.
- 16:51Speaker 3: That's so funny because I've heard a lot about that
- 16:53Speaker 3: over the years. I don't know why it's turned into that,
- 16:56Speaker 3: but I was born in a winter Park hospital for
- 16:59Speaker 3: like when I was and then we lived in a
- 17:01Speaker 3: popca all my life, so I was never the winter
- 17:04Speaker 3: Park rich kid. But every graphic that pops up when
- 17:08Speaker 3: I'm pitching says I'm from winter Park, So I know
- 17:11Speaker 3: my my grandparents kind of took the exception to that
- 17:15Speaker 3: because we've been living in a papca all my life,
- 17:17Speaker 3: and now people think I'm from winter Park.
- 17:20Speaker 1: He's getting all this free plump blaz do you pa,
- 17:25Speaker 1: I'm in Mount Dora now.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Oh okay, all right, that's fair.
- 17:29Speaker 4: Listen, when I went to doctor Phillips, Greenkey went to Apopka, okay.
- 17:34Speaker 4: But when I was in high school, Popka was like
- 17:37Speaker 4: I hated him, Like multiple bench clearing brawls against a Popka.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Really, oh oh, huge rival.
- 17:45Speaker 3: It's like an hour from here, right, I was like
- 17:47Speaker 3: thirty minutes.
- 17:48Speaker 4: Okay, it's not even it's not very far from it.
- 17:50Speaker 4: It's just the traffic will make it. You have to
- 17:52Speaker 4: kind of weave you get there.
- 17:53Speaker 2: But yeah, no, but the Blue Darters, boy woo.
- 17:55Speaker 4: We used to have some battles sunny Wise, remember Sonny
- 18:00Speaker 4: Wise back in the day. Yeah, oh yeah, we had
- 18:03Speaker 4: some We had some hippy games against the Blue Darters
- 18:06Speaker 4: back in the day.
- 18:07Speaker 3: There you go.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Wasn't around, so I can't say I used to kill
- 18:10Speaker 2: the Mustangs.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Well, you gotta tell. We'll end with this, Logan. Maybe
- 18:14Speaker 1: he can tell Fox because he's going to be doing
- 18:16Speaker 1: the game to put a Popka instead of winter Yeah,
- 18:20Speaker 1: can you just it?
- 18:22Speaker 2: I would tell.
- 18:22Speaker 4: I'll tell the producer when we do your graphics. And
- 18:24Speaker 4: I don't think we ever show that, but I'll make
- 18:26Speaker 4: sure that I say it on the air. He is
- 18:28Speaker 4: not a rich kid from winter Park. He's a hill
- 18:30Speaker 4: billy from He's a hill billy from Pa.
- 18:33Speaker 3: That's right, that's right, that's right.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Way in a popka, it's way more street kid, trusty.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Yes, yes, exactly. Hey Logan, this was great. Hope you
- 18:45Speaker 1: enjoyed it. Thank you so much for joining us. Good
- 18:47Speaker 1: luck and good luck dealing dealing with a say.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Thanks guys, had a good time. Thanks for having me
