- 0:33Speaker 3: We'll do our best to make use my.
- 0:36Speaker 1: The indoors man.
- 0:41Speaker 2: What is happening? I'm Rob Lundquist and I'm and we
- 0:47Speaker 2: are the Avid Indoorsmen getting the game?
- 0:50Speaker 3: Oh I like that? Oh wow? Yeah, what's up everybody?
- 0:58Speaker 3: How are you?
- 1:00Speaker 2: Oh? I'm doing good. You know what I'm excited about?
- 1:03Speaker 3: Tell me everything.
- 1:04Speaker 2: We got football, bro, football. We are recording this just
- 1:10Speaker 2: mere hours before the very first game of the NFL season.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Delicious.
- 1:16Speaker 2: I'm excited, Dude, me too.
- 1:19Speaker 3: I love it. I'm excited to have sports on that
- 1:22Speaker 3: I care about more.
- 1:23Speaker 2: O name, I feel like we're in quite a drought, well.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Especially when the Twins are poopy. Yeah, the links are
- 1:33Speaker 3: great and the playoffs are about to start. So we
- 1:35Speaker 3: had that and that's it. That's it. That is it.
- 1:39Speaker 3: That is it.
- 1:40Speaker 2: And the Minnesota United I am. I am a soccer fan.
- 1:42Speaker 3: That's true.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Their second in the Western Conference.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Which is very good. Nice.
- 1:47Speaker 2: So it's not terrible, but very excited for the NFL season.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Very excite. It's going to be great, very excited. I like, yeah,
- 1:58Speaker 3: I don't know, I'm excited. Man, I'm with you. Oh,
- 2:00Speaker 3: gonna be the best. We decided to do a football movie. Yeah, dude,
- 2:05Speaker 3: so fun. I'm convincing.
- 2:07Speaker 2: No, you're just like, dude, let's just do that movie.
- 2:09Speaker 2: We've talked about it forever.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Let's do it.
- 2:12Speaker 2: I was like, I was like, immediate co sign and boom,
- 2:16Speaker 2: I love that movie.
- 2:17Speaker 3: We're both like, this is our podcast. We will decide
- 2:20Speaker 3: we do it.
- 2:20Speaker 2: It's not an anniversary, but you know what, it coincides
- 2:23Speaker 2: at the football season. I'm feeling like it's relevant.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Anniversary of our heart. If nothing else, yeah, if nothing else. Rob.
- 2:30Speaker 3: But before we get to all that, I would like
- 2:33Speaker 3: to hear, what's the most recent movie you've seen? Well,
- 2:35Speaker 3: I would love to tell you about it. Oh my god,
- 2:37Speaker 3: thank you.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Netflix came out with a movie about a series that
- 2:44Speaker 2: I've been reading.
- 2:46Speaker 3: I haven't seen it into it. Oh, I'm so excited.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Tell me everything.
- 2:50Speaker 2: So this is called the Thursday Murder Clup.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Okay, I feel like you've talked about it on here before.
- 2:57Speaker 2: I'm not sure.
- 2:57Speaker 3: I know you've definitely to me. Yeah that's fair. Yeah
- 3:01Speaker 3: cool man.
- 3:02Speaker 2: But I was so happy with how they made it.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Chris Columbus directed, who's done some amazing stuff. We've done
- 3:09Speaker 2: some episodes on his movies like Home Alone, Missus, Doubt Fire,
- 3:13Speaker 2: The First Couple, Harry Potter movies, and Yeah, so I've
- 3:17Speaker 2: read all the Thursday Murder Club books by Richard Osmond.
- 3:22Speaker 2: I am excited because he has a new book coming
- 3:24Speaker 2: out at the end of.
- 3:25Speaker 3: This month, sick month for him. It really is, it
- 3:30Speaker 3: really is.
- 3:31Speaker 2: But dude, I loved the casting. Everyone was perfect. Helen Marry,
- 3:35Speaker 2: that's so good, Ben Kingsley, Pierce Brosnan, They're perfectly cast.
- 3:40Speaker 2: And there's kind of the main character in the books.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Her name is Joyce in the books, but her it's
- 3:48Speaker 2: an actress named Celia Imriy and it sounds like she's
- 3:51Speaker 2: been in a ton of things, but it's more maybe
- 3:53Speaker 2: British stuff that I have not seen. Her name is Celia,
- 3:57Speaker 2: Celia Imri and she was one wonderful There's some other
- 4:02Speaker 2: really recognizable actors in there as well. They're great. I
- 4:06Speaker 2: loved how they stuck to the book really well.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Yeah, that's fun because that's not always on the Ghosts,
- 4:12Speaker 3: you know.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Yeah, well, and it's you know, it's just a fun
- 4:15Speaker 2: kind of murder mystery. One of the plot lines they
- 4:19Speaker 2: changed would make it a little tougher if they are
- 4:22Speaker 2: going to keep making these into films sure, which I
- 4:28Speaker 2: really really hope they do, because they did a great
- 4:30Speaker 2: job on this one. I'm hoping that people watch it.
- 4:34Speaker 2: It's currently in the top ten on Netflix, so I'm
- 4:38Speaker 2: hoping that stays for a while so that they're like,
- 4:40Speaker 2: how to make another one of these.
- 4:42Speaker 3: It's exciting, dude. You know, I've been circling it. I've
- 4:44Speaker 3: been I have my eye because I know you liked it.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Now that I know you like this adaptation, I'm in.
- 4:50Speaker 2: It was really really well done, and honestly, out of
- 4:53Speaker 2: the four books that they have, I thought this was
- 4:56Speaker 2: the weakest plot line.
- 4:58Speaker 3: So I'm hoping that.
- 5:00Speaker 2: We can keep getting them and we get to be
- 5:02Speaker 2: with these characters and they just keep making them.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Yeah, totally. That's really cool, well, very fun, and I
- 5:09Speaker 3: also liked they made it a movie rather than necessarily
- 5:12Speaker 3: a series. I mean, series are cool, but sometimes those
- 5:16Speaker 3: it's always hard between the two because it's like sometimes
- 5:19Speaker 3: the series can feel a little like drawn out. Sometimes
- 5:21Speaker 3: totally a movie can feel a little rushed.
- 5:24Speaker 2: So yeah, I think this was the right play. They
- 5:27Speaker 2: did a very good job with it.
- 5:28Speaker 3: I was.
- 5:28Speaker 2: I was very happy with it.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Well, very cool. I'm certainly looking forward to watching that
- 5:33Speaker 3: at some point. You can do that.
- 5:34Speaker 2: It's on Netflix. What was the last movie you watched?
- 5:38Speaker 3: So last one I watched was one you've talked about already,
- 5:42Speaker 3: but I went and saw nobody too.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Did you enjoy it?
- 5:46Speaker 3: I loved it a lot. I was like it was
- 5:48Speaker 3: funny though a couple of times I was like, well, yeah,
- 5:50Speaker 3: I bet they had a blast watching this together.
- 5:52Speaker 2: It was so much fun, dude.
- 5:54Speaker 3: It is very silly and very fun. And yeah, I
- 5:57Speaker 3: liked it a lot. Very violent as well. So it
- 6:00Speaker 3: didn't one of us just like it's.
- 6:04Speaker 2: A fun little rob you love it.
- 6:07Speaker 3: My gosh, we're the best, but yeah, it is hyper violent,
- 6:13Speaker 3: so no that going in it was like even zanier
- 6:18Speaker 3: this time. If you can believe that U. Yeah, I
- 6:22Speaker 3: really like that was fun. I like it. They went
- 6:25Speaker 3: a different way than I thought they were going with uh,
- 6:28Speaker 3: with Connie's character Connie.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Is it me Smith Nielsen Nielsen?
- 6:35Speaker 3: But yeah, just slightly different than I thought they were
- 6:39Speaker 3: going with her. But it was still really fun.
- 6:41Speaker 2: I liked it. Yeah, what did I think?
- 6:44Speaker 3: Was just so goofy in that movie?
- 6:46Speaker 2: Oh? They we never see Christopher Lloyd's eyes, Like, I
- 6:49Speaker 2: wonder what's going on if there's something with I know.
- 6:52Speaker 3: That that's pretty interesting, pretty old, but like its weird
- 6:58Speaker 3: some like weird cataracts or something. I don't know.
- 7:00Speaker 2: He was aviators the entire movie.
- 7:03Speaker 3: That is really I mean, it really fits with his
- 7:05Speaker 3: character obviously, But yeah, that isn't good call. Yeah, I
- 7:09Speaker 3: don't think I even clocked that. But now that you
- 7:11Speaker 3: say that interesting. But man, man, he's got to be old, right,
- 7:14Speaker 3: I feel like, yeah, he's.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Been an old man our whole lives ever since I've
- 7:18Speaker 2: seen him. You must have been.
- 7:20Speaker 3: I'm sure we talked about this. Well maybe not because
- 7:23Speaker 3: we've screwed up so bad on the back of the future,
- 7:25Speaker 3: But how old was he when he did those movies?
- 7:28Speaker 3: You think? I don't know, he must have only been
- 7:31Speaker 3: like mid thirties.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Man, he had to be older than mid thirties, had too,
- 7:38Speaker 2: has ninety now let me just look it up because
- 7:42Speaker 2: that was forty years ago.
- 7:44Speaker 3: I guess he could could have been. Yeah, you're right,
- 7:46Speaker 3: he's probably forty five or something. I'm doing this to you.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Nineteen thirty eight.
- 7:53Speaker 3: He was born. I'm not good at stuff. I'm not either,
- 7:57Speaker 3: So he's eighty eight. That works. I'm gonna cut that
- 8:02Speaker 3: from the podcast. It's not right. What heir? Did you say?
- 8:06Speaker 2: Thirty eight?
- 8:09Speaker 3: So yeah, eighty seven hour C seven. I was counting
- 8:12Speaker 3: next year for anyone listening, I'm I might cut it.
- 8:16Speaker 3: I'm gonna bleep it and then they'll be like, did
- 8:18Speaker 3: you get right? Did you get it wrong? I don't know,
- 8:20Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 8:21Speaker 2: So yeah, so forty years ago, so yeah, he was
- 8:25Speaker 2: forty seven. He was mid forties.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Man, he was older and older, yeah than this, you know,
- 8:33Speaker 3: And I was like, that old.
- 8:35Speaker 2: He looks so old.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Bro. The white hair though, you know, the white hair
- 8:39Speaker 3: doesn't know.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Yeah, same with Steve Martin. He went white so fast.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Sure you know, good call anyhow, nobody too. I really
- 8:47Speaker 3: liked nobody do that to everyone we're having a nice time.
- 8:52Speaker 2: We're having fun.
- 8:54Speaker 3: How about streaming, You've been streaming O day.
- 8:56Speaker 2: I've been streaming so many things. One that I binge
- 9:00Speaker 2: real fast was the new Owen Wilson series on Apple
- 9:05Speaker 2: called Stick.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Oh. I haven't even heard anything about this.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Yeah, nobody's really talking about it. Luke talked about it,
- 9:12Speaker 2: but he's a big golf guy. So it's it's about
- 9:15Speaker 2: a golf phenom who has some personal tragedy and ends
- 9:19Speaker 2: up not playing anymore than he sees a young talented
- 9:22Speaker 2: golfer and wants to be his mentor. Oh fun, kind
- 9:28Speaker 2: of has a ted Lasso feel. I'm certainly not going
- 9:33Speaker 2: to say it's as good as ted Lasso, because ted
- 9:37Speaker 2: Lasso is incredible.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Maybe what they were trying to do, yeah.
- 9:42Speaker 2: They're trying you know, it's funny. They're trying to pull
- 9:44Speaker 2: out some heart strings. I think they do that pretty well.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:50Speaker 2: I didn't love the younger folks that are in it,
- 9:53Speaker 2: like the main golfer and then some other people around that.
- 9:58Speaker 2: But yeah, Owen Well Wilson, his ex is Judy Greer there,
- 10:02Speaker 2: she's great. I love the chemistry between Owen Wilson and
- 10:07Speaker 2: Mark Marin that's really fun. And then we get then
- 10:13Speaker 2: we get Timothy Oliphant, who is.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Awesome, just looking handsome as.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Ever, and he really is.
- 10:19Speaker 3: He's a good looking man, handsome. But yeah, they were.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Not super long episodes. Yeah, it wasn't the last thing
- 10:28Speaker 2: I watched. This was at the very beginning of my
- 10:30Speaker 2: China trip. But I finished. I finished it so fast, perfect.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Let's good.
- 10:35Speaker 2: So but yeah, it's it's definitely worth checking out. If
- 10:38Speaker 2: that sounds interesting to you, you'll probably like it.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Did you say Apple TV?
- 10:42Speaker 2: Is that what that is on Apple TV?
- 10:44Speaker 3: Okay? Cool? Cool? Very cool man?
- 10:47Speaker 2: What have you been streaming?
- 10:48Speaker 3: Uh? So, the last like two days I streamed all
- 10:52Speaker 3: of the Buffalo Bill's Hard Knock season, the couple of
- 10:58Speaker 3: nights which I kind of forgot was there, and I
- 11:01Speaker 3: was like, yeah, football, I'm ready. I'm ready to be
- 11:05Speaker 3: like I.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Kind of always forget about HBO Max for some reason.
- 11:07Speaker 2: I don't know what my deal is.
- 11:08Speaker 3: But that wasn't that funny?
- 11:10Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, that was the Buffalo Bills season.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Pretty fun. Actually, they had some interesting, uh interesting storylines
- 11:19Speaker 3: that they did. They had ah, what is his first name?
- 11:22Speaker 3: His last name is white and he's the cornerback Trey
- 11:27Speaker 3: Oh Tradarious. Yes, I can't remember exactly what his first
- 11:32Speaker 3: name is, but he's really good. He was he was
- 11:35Speaker 3: like a pro bowler I think for a couple of years,
- 11:37Speaker 3: but he's sort of at the end of his career
- 11:39Speaker 3: and he went somewhere else last year and now it
- 11:41Speaker 3: is back. I think he went to the Ravens or something.
- 11:44Speaker 3: But that was just a fun That was a fun reunion,
- 11:48Speaker 3: you know, at the beginning of camp with all the
- 11:50Speaker 3: people that he knew and stuff. It is tradeavious by
- 11:53Speaker 3: the ways, Okay, thank you. But and then they have
- 11:57Speaker 3: a rookie cornerback that I don't remember the dude's name,
- 11:59Speaker 3: but he so like they're in tandem and that's always
- 12:03Speaker 3: fun to be like these dudes are only seven years apart.
- 12:06Speaker 3: But also it's like a chasm, you know, and it's experience,
- 12:10Speaker 3: you know, which is kind of fun. And it really
- 12:14Speaker 3: like featured like the people's kids and stuff. I don't
- 12:18Speaker 3: know if more than past seasons, but it was just
- 12:20Speaker 3: really fun to see and the people interacting. They seem
- 12:23Speaker 3: like they have a great organization over there. They seem
- 12:26Speaker 3: like their friends are crazy. I think we all knew that,
- 12:28Speaker 3: but they're so supportive, they're so fun, like, you know,
- 12:33Speaker 3: I don't know, I really liked it and it always
- 12:35Speaker 3: gets me in the mood for like it's fall, like
- 12:38Speaker 3: let's put some football, let's watch some stuff, let's hang out,
- 12:40Speaker 3: you know.
- 12:41Speaker 2: So do they get into the Josh Allen Hailey Steinfeld
- 12:46Speaker 2: relationship at all.
- 12:47Speaker 3: You know, not a ton And it felt pretty like
- 12:51Speaker 3: pointedly absent to me, which I get he probably was like, well,
- 12:56Speaker 3: we're not doing that, or she was you know, or whoever, right,
- 12:59Speaker 3: But they definitely talk about it at the beginning of
- 13:02Speaker 3: the show and then they kind of just go away
- 13:04Speaker 3: from it other than you know, like random mentions of
- 13:08Speaker 3: things that happened, you know, throughout. But she never makes
- 13:11Speaker 3: an appearance appearance other than like some pictures and stuff.
- 13:15Speaker 3: I think maybe one quick interview snippet, not even with
- 13:19Speaker 3: them from a red carpet or something. So sure, so
- 13:22Speaker 3: she was not super active, no, which is kind of
- 13:25Speaker 3: a bummer. And I also one hundred percent get it right,
- 13:28Speaker 3: like it's understandable. So but yeah, it was just really fun.
- 13:34Speaker 3: They had some really great stuff on there. It was
- 13:35Speaker 3: a good time fun. I don't know if I'm a
- 13:38Speaker 3: Bulls or a Bill's fan necessarily now, but for like
- 13:44Speaker 3: especially the down the you know, depth chart guys. For sure.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Hopefully yeah, hopefully they do make it. That'd be fun.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Well, don't tell our good friend Adam Chance up because
- 13:54Speaker 2: the Dolphins are in his division and he would be
- 13:56Speaker 2: very upset with you.
- 13:57Speaker 3: That's partly why I said I don't really think I
- 13:59Speaker 3: am I need that possible deniability. You know, although we
- 14:03Speaker 3: have talked about it, I think Josh Allen is pretty
- 14:05Speaker 3: like fun to root for.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Dude, that guy is such a monster.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Yea, and he just seems like a nice dude, like.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Nice guy, A really funny, great interview.
- 14:17Speaker 3: I went to.
- 14:20Speaker 2: It was the first time the Bills came to the
- 14:22Speaker 2: Vikings with Josh Allen. I was like, who is this kid?
- 14:24Speaker 2: He like in that game, leapt over something, He's like
- 14:29Speaker 2: he had a bunch of rushing yards, rushing touch just
- 14:33Speaker 2: like this guy is good.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Yeah, it's pretty wild.
- 14:36Speaker 2: I needed to know what was gonna happen. He came
- 14:37Speaker 2: out of Wyoming, so you're like, oh, we're just gonna
- 14:40Speaker 2: wipe the floor with these guys. He looked so good right.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Out of the gate, and he's a farmer's kid, which
- 14:45Speaker 3: is much like the person we're going to talk about,
- 14:48Speaker 3: Charlotte I love. But yeah, go check out hard Docks
- 14:54Speaker 3: right now if you want otherwise, I think we should
- 14:56Speaker 3: do some plugs.
- 14:57Speaker 2: What do you think I think we should as well?
- 14:59Speaker 3: Nice us can business as always on the Twitter machine,

- 15:38Speaker 2: Noel Flores. You guys are wonderful. Thank you for me, Patrens.
- 15:43Speaker 3: I always get scared when I say something after the
- 15:45Speaker 3: first one, and then I'm like, dang it now time
- 15:48Speaker 3: no going to do it. You don't have to. Man,
- 15:51Speaker 3: you're good.
- 15:52Speaker 2: You didn't and you won't.
- 15:55Speaker 3: You shan't.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Another Another perk we like to give our patrons is
- 15:59Speaker 2: an extent version of every episode that we put out.
- 16:02Speaker 2: We'll put out a top five draft that pertains to
- 16:04Speaker 2: the movie. And for this one we had a few
- 16:07Speaker 2: different things we could have done. We went with top
- 16:10Speaker 2: five favorite movie bar fight.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Yes, and also I don't often have like, oh, this
- 16:19Speaker 3: has got to be number one. There is one that.
- 16:21Speaker 2: A clear one.
- 16:22Speaker 3: I like that, and I'm scared because that means I
- 16:25Speaker 3: have to beat you and it just never happens. Never
- 16:28Speaker 3: happens in the game.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Yeah, there's you in this where it's like bar fight.
- 16:35Speaker 2: It's kind of a diner fight. It's kind of a
- 16:37Speaker 2: night So I think we just go loose with it. No,
- 16:41Speaker 2: I want to be extremely strict. I want it to
- 16:44Speaker 2: be a bar.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Yeah, let's do that, okay.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Because that's fun. It's fun to be strict.
- 16:51Speaker 3: I find that to be true. You got to be
- 16:54Speaker 3: cruel to be kind. Yeah. The lyric, right, that is
- 16:58Speaker 3: a lyric, not really the same thing. But you know
- 17:01Speaker 3: it's okay, guys, You guys are getting what you paid
- 17:04Speaker 3: for it.
- 17:04Speaker 2: I don't get your time.
- 17:06Speaker 3: You're having a good time, well, Barry fond. We look
- 17:10Speaker 3: forward to that. Rob. It's just you and I today. Whoa,
- 17:14Speaker 3: We're gonna have so much fun. Would you like to
- 17:16Speaker 3: get a started with a rough SYNOPSI.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Yeah, we are talking about the movie Necessary Roughness.
- 17:22Speaker 3: You guys.
- 17:22Speaker 2: I don't think said that.
- 17:23Speaker 3: I say that. I'm so sorry.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Necessary Roughness came the year nineteen ninety one. The plot
- 17:35Speaker 2: synopsis of this movie is tasked with overhauling a university
- 17:40Speaker 2: football team that was dismantled for breaking collegiate rules. Coaches
- 17:45Speaker 2: Wally Riggendorf and Ed Gennaro pick unusual new players like
- 17:51Speaker 2: junior professor Andre Krim and thirty something quarterback Paul Blake
- 17:56Speaker 2: as Paul Courtz Professor Suzanne Carter. The team struggles until
- 18:01Speaker 2: the arrival of a female place kicker, who bolsters the
- 18:05Speaker 2: squad as it gets ready to challenge it's big rival.
- 18:09Speaker 3: Hell yeah, hell yeah, hell yeah, love it, love it.
- 18:14Speaker 3: Let's go to rotten tomatoes. Do we should skip this?
- 18:17Speaker 3: Do we need to do that? Well, we have to
- 18:20Speaker 3: be honest with the people. Rop yeah, we must. Critics
- 18:24Speaker 3: have it at a rock solid thirty five percent. Nowhere
- 18:28Speaker 3: our worst very dumb and they smell bad. What is
- 18:31Speaker 3: our worst? Do we keep a rolling tally of that?
- 18:33Speaker 3: I don't know. We don't write it up audio.
- 18:36Speaker 2: We do have wonderful folks that listen. That might be
- 18:40Speaker 2: will well.
- 18:40Speaker 3: That's true. If someone could go through and find out
- 18:44Speaker 3: what the lowest one we have the lewist, I would
- 18:49Speaker 3: be interested lowest and highest, and then we can just
- 18:51Speaker 3: keep a rolling you know, rolling number from there.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Love it, but yeah, that would be fun.
- 18:57Speaker 3: That would be good to know. Also, you know, if
- 18:58Speaker 3: you don't I get it, I'm not gonna I'm not
- 19:01Speaker 3: gonna do it, so certainly not. So I don't blame
- 19:05Speaker 3: you audience members. Rob had this and arousing forty seven percent.
- 19:09Speaker 2: That is what I find most disheartening.
- 19:12Speaker 3: That's really that's low. I it doesn't make any sense
- 19:17Speaker 3: to me, especially being like with how much you and
- 19:20Speaker 3: I love this movie. I guess I just thought it
- 19:22Speaker 3: was revered.
- 19:25Speaker 2: I don't know how you can be like this is
- 19:28Speaker 2: just straight up a bad movie, like I would be
- 19:30Speaker 2: interested in hearing, Yeah, the reasons why it's a bad movie.
- 19:35Speaker 2: That bad of a movie at.
- 19:37Speaker 3: Worst, It's like whatever I feel like right, I mean,
- 19:40Speaker 3: like a silly sports movie. Whatever isn't that's what all
- 19:44Speaker 3: these people think. But let's hear what we think. It's
- 19:46Speaker 3: time for our hot hot take.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Oh oh, that's a hot take. That's a hot take.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Oh oh, he threw it so hard that now it's
- 19:58Speaker 2: a fire stairs out.
- 20:01Speaker 3: Gee nice, nice, I like it. I like that a lot.
- 20:05Speaker 3: I'll go first. I love this movie. I'm sure people
- 20:08Speaker 3: know because we've talked about it sort of unwarranted several times, unprompted.
- 20:14Speaker 3: But yeah, I think this movie is super fun. I
- 20:16Speaker 3: watched it a ton as a kid for whatever reason.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Just a classic.
- 20:23Speaker 4: You know.
- 20:23Speaker 3: The thing I like about this movie the most, which
- 20:25Speaker 3: doesn't happen in a ton of sports movies. They're not
- 20:28Speaker 3: very good, which I think is pretty fun. They end
- 20:32Speaker 3: up only winning the one game right basically the entire season. Spoiler.
- 20:37Speaker 3: Oh sorry, you should have watched it by now if
- 20:39Speaker 3: this is on you. Yeah, reps, like I've never seen it,
- 20:45Speaker 3: but you know, like that doesn't usually happen. Usually it's
- 20:47Speaker 3: like a team that you know, overcomes the odds and
- 20:49Speaker 3: then it's amazing the right time. So I thought that
- 20:52Speaker 3: was really fun. There's like a bunch of fun tropes
- 20:55Speaker 3: that happened in this the old guy, the you know,
- 20:58Speaker 3: the dude who can't catch the you know, all the things,
- 21:02Speaker 3: people reclaiming glory. But overall, I just think it's a
- 21:04Speaker 3: really fun movie about some folks doing something they love
- 21:10Speaker 3: just because they love it, not because there's you know,
- 21:12Speaker 3: maybe a career in it for him or anything like that.
- 21:15Speaker 3: It's just like some for the love of the game
- 21:18Speaker 3: stuff and it's really fun. I love it, and it's
- 21:22Speaker 3: it's a silly good time. I don't really know what
- 21:25Speaker 3: else I have to say other than I guess my
- 21:28Speaker 3: hot tag is are we certain Manu didn't kill Flat
- 21:33Speaker 3: Top at the end there? Because we never see him again.
- 21:36Speaker 2: And that's a good point.
- 21:37Speaker 3: That face mask flies and did you see the blood
- 21:40Speaker 3: on the rewatch? I forgot. They must have had him
- 21:43Speaker 3: have blood capsules or something and he like spews blood from.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Yeah this is like pre cgi, so yeah, right.
- 21:52Speaker 3: But his like face mask comes undone like that's it's
- 21:56Speaker 3: pretty wild that we never see him again, So.
- 21:57Speaker 2: He may have died on the field that day.
- 22:00Speaker 3: I had to kill him. You know, he told them
- 22:02Speaker 3: don't don't lay hands on his kicker, So I guess that's.
- 22:07Speaker 2: It angered him.
- 22:09Speaker 3: He's a murderer.
- 22:10Speaker 2: He's a murderer. I like that a lot that I
- 22:12Speaker 2: would say that's the best Dug got, Bud, how about you?
- 22:16Speaker 2: I have also loved this movie ever since it came out.
- 22:19Speaker 2: I also watched it all of the times, so so
- 22:22Speaker 2: many times. Uh. It's directed by Stan Dragotti, who also
- 22:27Speaker 2: directed Mister Mom and this was his last film. Really
- 22:32Speaker 2: went out on top.
- 22:33Speaker 3: I think.
- 22:36Speaker 2: It was written by a couple guys named Rick Natkin
- 22:38Speaker 2: and David Fuller. This was by far the biggest thing
- 22:41Speaker 2: they ever wrote, and I thought they did a pretty
- 22:44Speaker 2: good job. It was a fun plot. They created some
- 22:47Speaker 2: entertaining characters. There were some really funny lines in this.
- 22:52Speaker 2: I thought they did a really good job. It was
- 22:55Speaker 2: very fun seeing these actors. This is where my love
- 22:58Speaker 2: of Sinbad started. Then named my teddy bear hamster after him,
- 23:05Speaker 2: Little Sindbad.
- 23:06Speaker 3: I loved him so much.
- 23:08Speaker 2: It was the best hamster.
- 23:10Speaker 3: I love Sinbad too.
- 23:12Speaker 2: He was just the best man.
- 23:14Speaker 3: Dude.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Right when the music started up, I didn't remember how
- 23:18Speaker 2: great the score was. Same like I was a surprisingly
- 23:24Speaker 2: great score. I looked up who did it. It's by
- 23:28Speaker 2: Bill CONTI who has won an Academy Award for the
- 23:31Speaker 2: right stuff. But he also, dude, he did the Rocky series,
- 23:37Speaker 2: no kidding. Yeah, so they went and got like a
- 23:41Speaker 2: major majorser for this, no doubt. And it was awesome.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Like I loved the theme, those big those big moments
- 23:49Speaker 2: were It added so much to it. One of the
- 23:52Speaker 2: best parts of the movie, honestly. And I love this movie.
- 23:55Speaker 3: Yeah, that's really great.
- 23:57Speaker 2: Yeah, this movie helped form my love of football. It
- 24:02Speaker 2: was very fun to watch this right before the NFL
- 24:04Speaker 2: season starts. I had so much fun rewatching. I feel
- 24:08Speaker 2: like it held up really well.
- 24:11Speaker 3: Dude, you too, Yeah, I'm with you. I think it
- 24:14Speaker 3: holds up remarkably well.
- 24:15Speaker 2: It really does. Man, Like they were pretty like progressive
- 24:19Speaker 2: and we're not. Yeah, dude, I'm just surprised by that
- 24:23Speaker 2: because a lot of movies that came out in nineteen
- 24:24Speaker 2: ninety one, you can't say that.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Would not have especially there. It's a comedy movie. They
- 24:29Speaker 3: just would have expected him to go for more low
- 24:32Speaker 3: hanging fruit. I mean, it really doesn't.
- 24:37Speaker 2: So I love this movie. My hot take, Oh tell me,
- 24:40Speaker 2: I need it. I think this is where the Philly
- 24:44Speaker 2: Special was invented. I think this is where they got
- 24:47Speaker 2: that idea.
- 24:48Speaker 3: Wow, you think so?
- 24:50Speaker 2: I think so. I think who would that have been?
- 24:53Speaker 2: What coach is that? Doug Peterson? I think he was
- 24:56Speaker 2: a big necessary rifle from this, I think so. I
- 25:00Speaker 2: think he saw how well Paul Blake was able to
- 25:02Speaker 2: make it work. I thought, you know what I got,
- 25:06Speaker 2: I got Nick Foles.
- 25:10Speaker 3: That to be true.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Wouldn't that be fun?
- 25:12Speaker 3: That would be really fun. But I do think it
- 25:14Speaker 3: probably predates this if I had to, probably, But I
- 25:17Speaker 3: love it. I love that take a lot. But now
- 25:20Speaker 3: he might have been reminded of it at like a
- 25:23Speaker 3: team movie night or something. Now that is something we're talking. Yes,
- 25:29Speaker 3: we're talking. That's awesome. Let's give him the bacula. Yeah, dude,
- 25:36Speaker 3: I wish they called it the bacula.
- 25:38Speaker 2: That would be great.
- 25:42Speaker 3: I love that. That's a hot take.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Well, thank you, thank you.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Let's go talk about our favorite acting performance.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Shall we name the dude the dude?
- 25:53Speaker 4: I'm the dude, so that's what you call me, you
- 25:55Speaker 4: know that? Or his dude or duder or you know,
- 26:01Speaker 4: eldudo reno. If you're not into the whole brevity thing,
- 26:05Speaker 4: would you like to go first.
- 26:06Speaker 3: In this one?
- 26:07Speaker 2: I can because you just brought up his name Scott
- 26:10Speaker 2: Bout It's Scott Bacula nailed it as Paul Blake.
- 26:16Speaker 3: I agree, dude. I was such a Quantum leap fan.
- 26:21Speaker 3: I loved quantum leaking, so I loved me too, some Bacula,
- 26:28Speaker 3: But yeah, I thought it was fun.
- 26:29Speaker 2: We had an older guy coming back to college getting
- 26:32Speaker 2: to live the glory days he never got to experience.
- 26:36Speaker 3: Really great.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Then he goes and gets in a romantic relationship with
- 26:39Speaker 2: the professor, who I found so attractive when I was
- 26:43Speaker 2: I have.
- 26:43Speaker 3: Such a crush on her. For between this and like parented, yeahs.
- 26:48Speaker 2: She definitely has Yeah, good for her. I was just like,
- 26:52Speaker 2: all right, this is great. He's trying to be a
- 26:55Speaker 2: leader to these young guys all the while having just
- 26:59Speaker 2: an absent Luke Cannon for an arm. He could throw.
- 27:04Speaker 3: That ball so a quarter mile probably.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Did you see what he did to Charlie Bank? Nope,
- 27:09Speaker 2: not Charlie Banks. It was Banks.
- 27:11Speaker 3: It was Charlie Banks.
- 27:13Speaker 2: Was it cool? Did you see what he did? He
- 27:17Speaker 2: made him just like he almost killed him.
- 27:21Speaker 3: That's hard, just like Manu did. It is Charlie Banks.
- 27:23Speaker 2: Charlie Banks. Okay, there we go he upended him.
- 27:28Speaker 3: With Really, he was just he was a slight, a
- 27:32Speaker 3: wirtle guy. He was just a wirtle guy. But I
- 27:36Speaker 3: agree that's who I picked as well. Wow, and I
- 27:41Speaker 3: just for all the reasons she said, I think he
- 27:43Speaker 3: plays like he also plays the sore. Although damn it,
- 27:48Speaker 3: he's thirty four in this and they treat him like
- 27:50Speaker 3: he's a thousand.
- 27:53Speaker 2: But dude thirty four with college kids.
- 27:56Speaker 3: Absolutely, I mean that's old for sure. It is. Well,
- 28:00Speaker 3: didn't they have like a twenty nine year old I
- 28:03Speaker 3: was just gonna say that pretty recently.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Well, they had that winky quarterback. He was pretty old.
- 28:12Speaker 2: He was like a Heisman Trophy winner. I don't know
- 28:15Speaker 2: if he was twenty nine, but he was old. Maybe
- 28:17Speaker 2: he was twenty nine.
- 28:18Speaker 3: I'm thinking of a different guy who was like he
- 28:21Speaker 3: was a starter, but he wasn't like a and I
- 28:23Speaker 3: think he was a defender. But he had gone and
- 28:26Speaker 3: like surfed in the army or something, and then you know,
- 28:29Speaker 3: something had happened, and then he came back and was
- 28:31Speaker 3: like I think I want to try this again, you know,
- 28:33Speaker 3: or whatever, which is crazy. But they made a big
- 28:37Speaker 3: bey all of that. As all I'm saying sure, So, yeah,
- 28:39Speaker 3: thirty four is pretty old. Yeah, but he looked like
- 28:42Speaker 3: he was a thousand. You know when he was he was.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Living hard man, he was smoking, he was he was
- 28:48Speaker 2: living hard. He was on the farm. I mean he
- 28:51Speaker 2: was a working man.
- 28:52Speaker 3: He's a working boy, working boy. That's a working man's butte.
- 28:56Speaker 3: That's a blue collar. But what is that from? That's
- 28:58Speaker 3: from something that It really made me made me laugh Anyway.
- 29:04Speaker 3: I thought he was great in this. I loved Quantum
- 29:07Speaker 3: Lee back in the day, so it was just fun
- 29:09Speaker 3: to see him in this. And then his role in
- 29:12Speaker 3: Chuck was so fun back in the day. Oh yeah,
- 29:15Speaker 3: because he's Chuck's dad, right, Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was
- 29:18Speaker 3: really really fun. But yeah, I think he's really wonderful
- 29:21Speaker 3: in this. And he plays the football stuff well, like
- 29:24Speaker 3: he looks like he can actually play and throw, which
- 29:26Speaker 3: is fun. But he also does the like the more
- 29:30Speaker 3: sentimental parts of it really well too. Ye like when
- 29:33Speaker 3: he writes that you know that letter and he doesn't
- 29:36Speaker 3: really want her to read it, but you know, he's
- 29:39Speaker 3: got some stuff going on in that dome too, which
- 29:41Speaker 3: is cool. So yeah, I really liked him, was fun,
- 29:44Speaker 3: love it.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Well, let's talk about we had so many great supporting characters.
- 29:48Speaker 3: In this A million a million, and so.
- 29:52Speaker 2: I think we should pick the Tucci AWATCHI, why don't
- 29:58Speaker 2: you go first on this one?
- 30:00Speaker 3: Sure, but I get to pick the pair of them.
- 30:04Speaker 3: I would like to take Robert that note that's not
- 30:07Speaker 3: going the way you think it's going. Robert Loja and
- 30:10Speaker 3: Hector Alisondo, that's great, the coaches, the pair of the
- 30:14Speaker 3: so bad. They're wonderful, They're they're super believable as like
- 30:20Speaker 3: old buddies. They're hilarious. I think they had some of
- 30:23Speaker 3: the best lines in the entire movie between the two
- 30:26Speaker 3: of them, and they both just like have this gravitas
- 30:31Speaker 3: that you think their authority figures like the second you
- 30:34Speaker 3: see them. You know. I just really love them a
- 30:37Speaker 3: lot and have loved them and a ton of other things,
- 30:39Speaker 3: both of them individually.
- 30:41Speaker 2: But yeah, man, by far the most accomplished actors out
- 30:45Speaker 2: of everyone there.
- 30:46Speaker 3: Yeah for sure, for sure.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Yeah, they were so good.
- 30:50Speaker 3: There's really only one. I think they can even kind
- 30:52Speaker 3: of battle with them. But but yeah, I picked both
- 30:55Speaker 3: of them. Why don't you go and say who you.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Know to I would have agreed with you, and said
- 31:02Speaker 2: Robert Logi and Hector Elison. Sure, sure, who'd you have
- 31:05Speaker 2: back in the day, Sindbad?
- 31:08Speaker 3: I mean, I'm with you. He was sin bed so.
- 31:13Speaker 2: Much, dude, I said pot thousand times.
- 31:18Speaker 3: I love him. He's the coolest guy in this I
- 31:20Speaker 3: also love that he is cool and athletic and also
- 31:25Speaker 3: very smart. Smart don't always get.
- 31:28Speaker 2: He loves science and he loves to part.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Especially like there's a couple of smart like black dudes
- 31:35Speaker 3: in this movie. And that wasn't always the case in
- 31:36Speaker 3: nineteen ninety you know what I mean right right that
- 31:39Speaker 3: it was the case either. But yeah, man, I'm with
- 31:42Speaker 3: you on percent.
- 31:43Speaker 2: Yep, he was, he was it back then. I agree
- 31:46Speaker 2: with you. Probably the coach is now very high up there.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Just as a small aside, is Rob Schneider is Je Pieterman.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Every time in this movie.
- 31:58Speaker 2: He kills it every single time.
- 32:00Speaker 3: He's on perfect And what a fun part to record
- 32:04Speaker 3: because he probably had to be there for like forty
- 32:07Speaker 3: minutes or something.
- 32:08Speaker 2: Seriously, probably only a couple of days, Like he's only
- 32:11Speaker 2: in that boot.
- 32:12Speaker 3: It's so fun. Except do you think it? Because I
- 32:15Speaker 3: tried to go back and listen, I couldn't quite tell.
- 32:17Speaker 3: Do you think he's also the announcer of the the
- 32:20Speaker 3: Cowboy radio thing, because I think he was, but I
- 32:25Speaker 3: couldn't he might have been. Yeah his voice just enough
- 32:29Speaker 3: to try and hide it, you know.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Yeah, which seemed like a weird move, like he's not
- 32:34Speaker 2: he's not going to be doing it. Well, maybe he's
- 32:37Speaker 2: doing the football games and the I mean it's probably not.
- 32:41Speaker 2: There's probably not that much going on down there.
- 32:43Speaker 3: Probably no money, and he's probably doing that.
- 32:46Speaker 2: For free or credits. He's just a fan.
- 32:48Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, right, But I just thought that was funny.
- 32:51Speaker 3: I'm with you though. He was super funny, and there's
- 32:54Speaker 3: a few things that he says in this that I
- 32:57Speaker 3: have said since then.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, percent, Yeah, I'm with you, dude for sure.
- 33:02Speaker 3: When some of your runner ups, well we already kind
- 33:06Speaker 3: of talked about her, but Harley Jane Kozak, she just
- 33:10Speaker 3: great in this. I think she's really fun. I love
- 33:14Speaker 3: that she is like a teacher but also likes football
- 33:19Speaker 3: and things. He's interesting, you know what I mean. Like
- 33:21Speaker 3: it's no one is super one dimensional in this, which
- 33:24Speaker 3: is kind of fun, or at least like no one
- 33:27Speaker 3: gets put into one lane, you know, kind of are
- 33:30Speaker 3: just like, yeah, that's cool.
- 33:32Speaker 2: I liked that they had the backstory of you know
- 33:35Speaker 2: that she was the cheerleader on the rival high school team.
- 33:40Speaker 3: It was such a cute idea. I love that.
- 33:42Speaker 2: And then she like was obsessed with him after.
- 33:45Speaker 3: That and just his name right away. Yeah, that's really fun.
- 33:49Speaker 3: I like that for sure. Larry Miller is great in this. Dude,
- 33:53Speaker 3: so good.
- 33:55Speaker 2: He is wonderful, horrible.
- 33:57Speaker 3: Oh he's just the biggest dick ever in the.
- 34:00Speaker 2: However, just the perfect dean. I feel like, yes, I
- 34:04Speaker 2: feel like Jeremy Piven went and watched some Larry Miller.
- 34:09Speaker 3: Yes, one hundred percent agree. Like he's like, oh, I
- 34:12Speaker 3: just copy this guy. Great, she just did it. What
- 34:15Speaker 3: am I doing? So unlikable but really great at being unlikable.
- 34:20Speaker 3: He's so good. I love that Jason Bateman is in
- 34:25Speaker 3: this for a little he doesn't get to do fun.
- 34:27Speaker 3: Was that fun to see him? Also fun to see
- 34:31Speaker 3: him as a baby and then be like he'd already
- 34:33Speaker 3: been professionally acting for like fifteen years at that time, right,
- 34:37Speaker 3: you know whatever? It was Yeah, pretty wild.
- 34:39Speaker 2: He was really fun, dude. I was obsessed with Kathy
- 34:44Speaker 2: Ireland after this.
- 34:45Speaker 3: Wow, me too.
- 34:47Speaker 2: She was on I had a dude, and she I
- 34:51Speaker 2: felt like she was in every Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue
- 34:55Speaker 2: for like ten years right around percent like love.
- 35:00Speaker 3: Her she had because it's been a lot. I don't
- 35:03Speaker 3: know if I said this, it's been a long time
- 35:04Speaker 3: since I've seen this, you know now on this rewatch
- 35:08Speaker 3: she had a little bit more of a part than
- 35:10Speaker 3: I actually remember it. And I thought that was good too, Like,
- 35:12Speaker 3: you know, she was cool.
- 35:14Speaker 2: I liked her and her and another character that I
- 35:16Speaker 2: loved and you talk about every all the time by
- 35:20Speaker 2: man Umana. There their chemistry, it was so much fun
- 35:24Speaker 2: or you know, they're fun. What they have going on
- 35:27Speaker 2: is just a good time. His name is Peter Navy
- 35:30Speaker 2: TUIs Sisopo. Yeah, and he was lovely.
- 35:35Speaker 3: He's wonderful dude. He's so friendly, just like a gentle giant.
- 35:40Speaker 3: Gentle giant. I loved him so much. And it's so funny.
- 35:44Speaker 3: I apparently like Headcannon that they did one hundred percent
- 35:49Speaker 3: get together in this movie. It's like, well they like
- 35:52Speaker 3: there's some like allusions to it.
- 35:54Speaker 2: But not really, no, not until the kiss at the
- 35:57Speaker 2: very end.
- 35:57Speaker 3: Yeah. But I was like on the cheek as a
- 36:01Speaker 3: as a fat man myself. I wanted that to happen
- 36:03Speaker 3: for him. You know, we all did happened. I just
- 36:06Speaker 3: want to believe.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Yeah, he was just such a nice guy, such a gentleman, just.
- 36:10Speaker 3: A lovely human. Yeah, he's great, just a good dude.
- 36:14Speaker 3: He's great. And I think it was interesting that he
- 36:16Speaker 3: was like, he'll never touch you or whatever when he's
- 36:19Speaker 3: just been getting his ass handed to him.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Though I know it's like, we're gonna just wait for
- 36:24Speaker 2: the last play.
- 36:26Speaker 3: Could we do it earlier? I don't know, maybe.
- 36:28Speaker 2: Maybe we could stry blocking in the first three quarters.
- 36:33Speaker 2: I was just gonna say. There were two actors in
- 36:37Speaker 2: this who were then in one of my other favorite
- 36:42Speaker 2: nineties football movies that we haven't talked about before the Program.
- 36:46Speaker 3: Oh yeah, which I haven't seen.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Dude, if you would have seen it when you were
- 36:50Speaker 2: a kid, you would have loved it. But Dwayne Davis's
- 36:55Speaker 2: Featherstone and Andrew brinni Arski as Wyatt bow Read, those
- 37:00Speaker 2: two actors were also very big roles in the program,
- 37:05Speaker 2: and in the program, Featherstone is like a hard like
- 37:09Speaker 2: middle linebacker, just like mean and tough. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 37:18Speaker 2: So it was fun and I kind of forgot that
- 37:21Speaker 2: that Wyatt Bowdrey Well Andrew Brinnie Arsky is the actor's name.
- 37:26Speaker 2: I forgot he was in Necessary Roughness.
- 37:30Speaker 3: He's a big dude, Dude.
- 37:32Speaker 2: That was one big storyline in the program is that
- 37:35Speaker 2: he needs to like get really big and so.
- 37:38Speaker 3: Some likesteroids or something. So the program is like a
- 37:43Speaker 3: prequel to this basically like all the things they were
- 37:45Speaker 3: doing in the.
- 37:46Speaker 2: Pretty much pretty much dude, Yeah, it's.
- 37:51Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not.
- 37:53Speaker 2: A college college.
- 37:55Speaker 3: It is college, Okay.
- 37:56Speaker 2: James conn is the coach from a river runs through it,
- 38:01Speaker 2: not Brad Pitt, but the other guy.
- 38:04Speaker 3: Okay, he is the he's the main quarterback. And yeah,
- 38:09Speaker 3: do you think I would like it now?
- 38:11Speaker 2: I'm not sure. It's been many years since I've seen it,
- 38:13Speaker 2: but dude, that there were a couple of scenes in
- 38:15Speaker 2: that would just get me like, yes, just let's go.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm surprised I never saw that. That's wild.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's it's not a comedy, that's for sure.
- 38:27Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, it's more of a drama.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Than Omar Epps Omars Yeah.
- 38:34Speaker 3: Yeah, anyway, well, very cool.
- 38:37Speaker 2: A lot of good characters in this.
- 38:39Speaker 3: So many any others that you feel like I feel.
- 38:42Speaker 2: That's all I needed to say.
- 38:44Speaker 3: Too cool.
- 38:46Speaker 2: Well, then why don't we move to our favorite scene
- 38:48Speaker 2: and let's choose the dingass sodas is quite simple, really, dingus, Dingus.
- 38:55Speaker 3: I could talk about my dingas all night long. Uh,
- 38:58Speaker 3: you first think I don't know where we're at.
- 39:01Speaker 2: Yeah, this one. I mean it's hard not to just
- 39:05Speaker 2: pick the big game. Yeah, yeah, I feel like there's
- 39:10Speaker 2: so many things that happen. You have Gennaro has had
- 39:13Speaker 2: his heart attack, Coach rig has to take over. He's
- 39:18Speaker 2: wearing the suit. We don't like that. He then has
- 39:20Speaker 2: a big freak out moment he'd taking a suit off,
- 39:25Speaker 2: which is so much fun. They're getting their butts beat
- 39:28Speaker 2: by flat Top. They forget the how to block. Then
- 39:32Speaker 2: we get Gennaro coming back, which is wonderful. They start
- 39:35Speaker 2: playing better.
- 39:36Speaker 3: Indigestion indigestion, Yeah, he just had some gas.
- 39:41Speaker 2: Featherstone finally catches the ball.
- 39:43Speaker 3: We love that that.
- 39:45Speaker 2: They run over the Dean, which is so much fun.
- 39:49Speaker 3: There was a moment where I was like, did Varsity
- 39:51Speaker 3: Blues rip off? Like throwing the football at them? You know,
- 39:55Speaker 3: it's like, is that what's going to happen? I was like, oh,
- 39:57Speaker 3: kind of but no, not.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Quite okay, cool, Yeah, dude, they do the Philly special.
- 40:02Speaker 2: They go for the win. We see the images of
- 40:06Speaker 2: the old dummy wearing the same number as Charlie Banks film.
- 40:11Speaker 3: That's what makes this from a movie into a.
- 40:13Speaker 2: Film, right. It's beautiful poetry. And then we get all
- 40:18Speaker 2: this slow motion celebrating and it was with that amazing score.
- 40:22Speaker 3: I was just gonna say, with that dope score underneath,
- 40:26Speaker 3: it's really good. Yeah, dude, really great. I'm down with
- 40:30Speaker 3: picking that for sure. That's fun.
- 40:33Speaker 2: I feel like I feel like I had to say
- 40:34Speaker 2: that one. What's was that yours?
- 40:37Speaker 3: Or did you have one that was? I think that
- 40:40Speaker 3: was the one. So I wrote three down that I
- 40:43Speaker 3: felt pretty strongly about. The bar fight is one. It
- 40:46Speaker 3: led to us talking about bar fights. Of course agreed.
- 40:49Speaker 3: I wrote that, well, I also love again, right, kind
- 40:53Speaker 3: of sticking with the theme of the movie. They're not
- 40:55Speaker 3: good at it not they do, you know what I mean? Yeah,
- 40:59Speaker 3: when he like and he's just like, ah, so good.
- 41:03Speaker 3: I love that. But that whole scene is really fun.
- 41:07Speaker 3: And then the sort of like after that where they're like,
- 41:10Speaker 3: well listen, coach, if we get in trouble. They also
- 41:12Speaker 3: get in Trouble or to the Dean, you know, like
- 41:15Speaker 3: all that stuff. I thought that was really fun. And
- 41:17Speaker 3: then I always loved the sort of Longest Yard homage.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Were the three I wrote down.
- 41:24Speaker 3: Bro, Oh, that's so great. We have the exact same three.
- 41:26Speaker 3: That's wonderful. The Texas State Penitentiary team comes in. Oh,
- 41:31Speaker 3: it's just all NFL stars. We got like butt Kiss
- 41:34Speaker 3: Jerry Rice. I mean I think I listed him somewhere.
- 41:36Speaker 2: Dander Holyfield, Yeah, that's right, which I thought is hilarious
- 41:42Speaker 2: because he ends up swallowing a finger and later on
- 41:45Speaker 2: his ear gets maybe that swallowed, but he became the victim.
- 41:55Speaker 3: Yeah. I just love that scene. They're just getting their
- 41:58Speaker 3: butts whooped and it's really fun. And those nfls that
- 42:02Speaker 3: was really cool.
- 42:03Speaker 2: So much fun.
- 42:04Speaker 3: Yeah, at the time, I think I only knew Jerry
- 42:07Speaker 3: Rice Irving.
- 42:10Speaker 2: No, IV was Michael Irving in there?
- 42:13Speaker 3: No?
- 42:14Speaker 2: Maybe maybe maybe not, because I think he was in
- 42:17Speaker 2: the Longest Yard.
- 42:18Speaker 3: That's and see, I always get those conflated, like, yeah,
- 42:21Speaker 3: there were those scenes or whatever, and.
- 42:23Speaker 2: Dick but Kiss was kind of almost an actor back
- 42:26Speaker 2: then too, so I knew of him, but I certainly
- 42:30Speaker 2: didn't know him as as a football player, because he
- 42:33Speaker 2: was kind of.
- 42:34Speaker 3: Two tolls in that scene are read I might have
- 42:37Speaker 3: wroughte it, Earl Campbell. It was really fun. It was
- 42:42Speaker 3: I just liked that scene. It was silly, it's hilarious.
- 42:45Speaker 2: And then you see the Dean just laughing his ass on,
- 42:48Speaker 2: just having a great time.
- 42:49Speaker 3: He loves.
- 42:52Speaker 2: I love that they only had one play and they
- 42:55Speaker 2: just completely destroy him. And then they get the shotguns.
- 42:58Speaker 3: Immediately they're like, all right, cool, let's it out of here, guys,
- 43:00Speaker 3: we're going back. I have a wonderful and they get
- 43:03Speaker 3: like that. But guess is so eloquent. Yeah, beforehand, it's
- 43:08Speaker 3: so great. Yeah, I love it. I love it, and
- 43:11Speaker 3: they're one of my favorite lines from this movie is
- 43:13Speaker 3: in that scene. But I'll say that for the foorst part.
- 43:16Speaker 3: But how are we good on scenes? Should we go
- 43:18Speaker 3: to that next part? Yeah?
- 43:20Speaker 2: I think we should. Then we The Dingus is just
- 43:22Speaker 2: the big game.
- 43:23Speaker 3: Hell yeah, the big game, baby, the big game.
- 43:26Speaker 2: Well, why don't we talk about that quote you want
- 43:27Speaker 2: to talk about? And let's go to show me the.
- 43:29Speaker 3: Money, show me the money? Show do you want to
- 43:39Speaker 3: go thirst?
- 43:39Speaker 2: No, start it off.
- 43:41Speaker 3: I'm trying to find where is that quote. It's when
- 43:44Speaker 3: Sindbada is talking. Yes, God, where is it? Oh? Listen, guys,
- 43:49Speaker 3: I just want you to know something. I believe you're
- 43:51Speaker 3: all in I believe you're all innocent. I really mean that.
- 43:54Speaker 3: I feel a lot of love out here today, and
- 43:56Speaker 3: they just get there. I love it. I love that
- 43:59Speaker 3: line much. It was really really cracking me up. Yep.
- 44:06Speaker 3: I don't think we ever said the nerdy quarterback guy
- 44:08Speaker 3: who ends up holding the clipboard house pop key. Yeah,
- 44:12Speaker 3: when when he's running after the RAF and just saying,
- 44:15Speaker 3: pull the whistle whistle cracks me up.
- 44:20Speaker 2: There gets when he gets a bench or whatever because
- 44:26Speaker 2: he threw the ball instead of ran it, pull the
- 44:29Speaker 2: whistle whistle.
- 44:30Speaker 3: Yeah, it's so good. I love that so much. Uh yeah,
- 44:35Speaker 3: let's see they have the the man goes in motion.
- 44:40Speaker 3: The receiver on the other team, the Armadilla's are on defense.
- 44:44Speaker 3: The whole defense goes with him. Basically, they're all like,
- 44:46Speaker 3: that's my man, that's my man. He's and Schneider on
- 44:50Speaker 3: the voiceover going Armadillos are showing that receiver a lot
- 44:53Speaker 3: of respect right now. It gets me every single time.
- 44:57Speaker 3: I love that so much. A lot of respec back
- 45:01Speaker 3: speaking of Schneider fumble, fumble, ayah, fumble. We still say those.
- 45:07Speaker 3: We say I'm pretty regularly all the time.
- 45:10Speaker 2: Fumble ruskisky uh.
- 45:14Speaker 3: And then the last one I'll say right now, but
- 45:17Speaker 3: I have plenty more is big exact by Man of.
- 45:21Speaker 2: The Slender, Yes, Minument of the Slender so much. Yeah,
- 45:26Speaker 2: you've said that quite a few times.
- 45:27Speaker 3: I really have. I love it a lot. I love
- 45:29Speaker 3: it a lot. But why don't you say if you.
- 45:31Speaker 2: Pal, I'll say a few.
- 45:36Speaker 3: Hurts when they poking the chests like that. I love that.
- 45:40Speaker 2: He's like about to green and he's like, hey, hey, hey,
- 45:44Speaker 2: you're making fun of me. When I was telling Yeah,
- 45:50Speaker 2: when I was telling my dad that we.
- 45:51Speaker 3: Were doing this movie, the first.
- 45:55Speaker 2: One he said is maybe now isn't the best time
- 45:57Speaker 2: to make sure everyone is played.
- 46:01Speaker 3: It's a great lie that. That was good.
- 46:10Speaker 2: One that I don't didn't remember so much back then,
- 46:12Speaker 2: but it made me actually laugh out loud. When they're
- 46:17Speaker 2: in the tryouts and Featherstone is just he cannot come
- 46:21Speaker 2: down with the ball, and Gennaro is like, keep your
- 46:26Speaker 2: eyes on the ball, so on, and then you just say, wow,
- 46:28Speaker 2: you had to keep your hands on the ball.
- 46:33Speaker 3: Really enjoyed that, really good.
- 46:35Speaker 2: Yeah, shut up or you were anger me from Manu Manu.
- 46:42Speaker 2: When we first meet the Dean and he is meeting Gennaro's,
- 46:50Speaker 2: he's like, he's funny Carver. I like jokes and just
- 46:55Speaker 2: how he says it. It's just the way he does it,
- 46:57Speaker 2: you know, just like, oh, this guy sucks.
- 47:00Speaker 3: It's like it sounds like you don't want us to
- 47:02Speaker 3: have a team. He's like correct, and it's just like
- 47:06Speaker 3: I know, it's reaction to it.
- 47:08Speaker 2: Yeah, most of his they're like great on paper, but
- 47:12Speaker 2: it's how he delivers them.
- 47:13Speaker 3: His response is so great. Yeah, I love that.
- 47:16Speaker 2: And there was when he catches them. When he catches
- 47:21Speaker 2: Suzanne and Paul Blake making out, she's like, we're consenting adults,
- 47:26Speaker 2: and he says, so we're Bonnie and Clyde.
- 47:29Speaker 3: It's pretty great.
- 47:33Speaker 2: So dumb and I enjoyed it.
- 47:36Speaker 3: That's great.
- 47:38Speaker 2: Why don't you say some more.
- 47:40Speaker 3: One we've said a bunch follow me? Mister Blake is
- 47:42Speaker 3: pretty great. Oh, dude, definitely said that in high school.
- 47:47Speaker 3: Absolutely blocked as well as he did for most of
- 47:50Speaker 3: that game. So I guess. Also when Andrea comes in
- 47:57Speaker 3: and he's like Andre does not eat brom meat because
- 48:00Speaker 3: is a vegetarian. Whatever you want Andre, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 48:05Speaker 3: because he just throws that. He knocks the whole sledover
- 48:10Speaker 3: and that was so fun. This goes crazy. Also, Simbad's
- 48:13Speaker 3: a big dude. He's a big man. He's a big dude. Yeah,
- 48:16Speaker 3: he played pretty good football. I would bet he did.
- 48:20Speaker 3: He almost had to have, right, Like, I bet he
- 48:23Speaker 3: was fun in a lot. Seems like a cool guy.
- 48:27Speaker 3: I feel like we can, we should need him someday.
- 48:29Speaker 3: I feel like we can. That could happen.
- 48:31Speaker 2: I know I was following him all around the country
- 48:34Speaker 2: at different theaters.
- 48:35Speaker 3: I know that someday, someday this will happen. At one point,
- 48:41Speaker 3: the one coach goes to his knee because everything's going
- 48:43Speaker 3: so poorly. Gennaro goes, well, he get up. People are
- 48:48Speaker 3: watching not a lot, but they're watching a lot. Yeah,
- 48:51Speaker 3: you know that.
- 48:52Speaker 2: He was like, if this was an astra ser if
- 48:54Speaker 2: I'd bury myself in a grave or something, myself a graver.
- 48:58Speaker 3: Yeah, really great. Welcome to foot ball. Hey you the
- 49:06Speaker 3: nutter Butter's there, which is pretty fun. As they say,
- 49:11Speaker 3: everyone says it. I've said it at least once that
- 49:13Speaker 3: we know mahoma R. What are you talking about? Oh,
- 49:18Speaker 3: let's see. Oh and I loved the you go out there,
- 49:22Speaker 3: you tear their bets off and down their next let
- 49:26Speaker 3: us pray, Yes, but let us pray. And it's like
- 49:30Speaker 3: ten minutes before that probably it's so good, so funny.
- 49:35Speaker 2: That is where I also cut it off. Just that
- 49:38Speaker 2: last nice, that's a perfect the rest of it.
- 49:41Speaker 3: Pray, don't get me wrong. Yeah, that like down their necks,
- 49:45Speaker 3: let us pray, let us pray, perfect, really really really great.
- 49:52Speaker 3: I wrote down the mister Blake, he'll never touch you.
- 49:54Speaker 3: I don't know why we didn't do this earlier. Yeah.
- 49:58Speaker 2: Another one that coach Ran did was I don't want
- 50:01Speaker 2: to put any undue pressure on you guys. But coach
- 50:03Speaker 2: Gennaro's last words were win or I'll die or all.
- 50:10Speaker 3: That. It's pretty great. Oh okay, just that then my god. Uh.
- 50:17Speaker 3: I had one other one that was fun. Oh well,
- 50:20Speaker 3: at least we have home field advantage. And then he's
- 50:23Speaker 3: like the Alamo was the home field. Yeah, yeah, that
- 50:27Speaker 3: was really fun.
- 50:30Speaker 2: One that I feel like the replacements. Yeah, and they
- 50:34Speaker 2: didn't completely steal, but same sentiment. Oh yeah, is Paul
- 50:39Speaker 2: Blake going you're hurt, you're tired, you're bleeding. I'm gonna
- 50:42Speaker 2: make you promise we get into that end zone, you're
- 50:45Speaker 2: not going to feel any pain.
- 50:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I did love that, But yes, I agree. It
- 50:50Speaker 3: feels pretty similar on the news when was replacements. I
- 50:55Speaker 3: know we just did it.
- 50:56Speaker 2: But like two thousand, I think so quite a bit later.
- 51:00Speaker 3: So yeahs. I also loved the Dean at one point
- 51:05Speaker 3: goes eternal vigilance is the price of integrity, coach to
- 51:10Speaker 3: narrow and while he just goes, what an asshole? Yeah,
- 51:15Speaker 3: I don't know. It was just great. Not a great
- 51:18Speaker 3: line on paper again, like you said, but made me laugh.
- 51:23Speaker 3: I think that was all the ones I wrote down. Yeah,
- 51:26Speaker 3: man did as well. Nice, Well let's move on less.
- 51:30Speaker 2: Who mutes bohomments? I thought one and I think, uh
- 51:39Speaker 2: it was mister Blake, they'll never touch you up until.
- 51:43Speaker 3: The winning of the game.
- 51:44Speaker 2: I thought it was kind of all.
- 51:45Speaker 3: One that definitely was was one for sure. There was
- 51:50Speaker 3: one more. There's two total.
- 51:53Speaker 2: I mean, is it like the Suzanne and Paul Blake
- 51:57Speaker 2: stuff we did have to do with the relation ship stuff?
- 52:01Speaker 3: Kind of Uh, it's when he says when he's talking
- 52:05Speaker 3: about he never lost a game in high school, and
- 52:08Speaker 3: he talks about how good that felt, and he goes,
- 52:10Speaker 3: I want to give these guys that feeling. Even Yeah,
- 52:13Speaker 3: I really see that. That got me. I liked that. Yeah,
- 52:17Speaker 3: that was good.
- 52:18Speaker 2: But then they thought it was not a great line.
- 52:21Speaker 2: After that it was like, I, yeah, I was like,
- 52:23Speaker 2: I don't want him to die.
- 52:24Speaker 3: I want him to win. Whatever. Oh they they they
- 52:28Speaker 3: die for you or something. I want to die. I
- 52:30Speaker 3: want him to win. But as part of the cheering
- 52:36Speaker 3: over the last bit, because you're right, that did get me,
- 52:40Speaker 3: was a hype here for Charlie Banks. So yeah, let's go, Charlie,
- 52:44Speaker 3: let's go. Baby. Got to hope your kids want to
- 52:48Speaker 3: play sports. I really want to watch sports and fun
- 52:51Speaker 3: and be affiliated with someone and not just be a
- 52:53Speaker 3: weirdo in the stance. You know. That's really the truth. Yeah,
- 52:56Speaker 3: that's the truth.
- 52:58Speaker 2: Today today I was actually looking to see, like if
- 53:02Speaker 2: there were any kids ranked that are like in the area,
- 53:06Speaker 2: because I was like, it would be fun to like
- 53:09Speaker 2: see a high school game.
- 53:10Speaker 3: I would do that with you, for sure.
- 53:12Speaker 2: And I've wanted to go up to Park Center, which
- 53:16Speaker 2: I haven't gone in twenty.
- 53:18Speaker 3: I went to a game there today. I told you
- 53:21Speaker 3: that that was a couple of years ago. One of
- 53:22Speaker 3: my buddies kiddo was it was like a youth game,
- 53:25Speaker 3: but it was crazy. Yeah. Fun.
- 53:27Speaker 2: I want to get up there at some point. For sure,
- 53:29Speaker 2: it would be fun.
- 53:30Speaker 3: I would do that. That sounds fun. Yeah, sounds fun.
- 53:33Speaker 2: Well, why don't you hit a man? I'm having a
- 53:36Speaker 2: hard time me too.
- 53:38Speaker 3: I forgot my name at the beginning. I was like,
- 53:42Speaker 3: Eric Buer or do I say am?
- 53:44Speaker 2: I think I just say I didn't really talk to
- 53:48Speaker 2: many people today, and I feel like my mouth is
- 53:52Speaker 2: just like I was just not working.
- 53:54Speaker 3: Click clack in the old computer. Today. I think you're
- 53:56Speaker 3: doing great. You're beautiful. We're going to talk some movie
- 53:59Speaker 3: true rivia now, Okay, I don't have many There's not
- 54:04Speaker 3: a lot of trivia for this movie. So just yeah,
- 54:07Speaker 3: let's all be cool. The predicament of the fictional Texas
- 54:10Speaker 3: State football team is based on a scandal surrounding another
- 54:14Speaker 3: Texas college, Southern Methodist University SMU bro SMU. I didn't.
- 54:20Speaker 3: I don't think I knew this. Smad't. Neither had been
- 54:23Speaker 3: placed on probation three times in the eighties for repeated
- 54:26Speaker 3: recruitment violations, such as giving monetary enticements to players and
- 54:31Speaker 3: their families, and in nineteen eighty seven, SMU was punished
- 54:35Speaker 3: under the repeat Violator rule, better known as the death penalty,
- 54:39Speaker 3: quote unquote, all football was canceled. Scholarships were evoked for
- 54:43Speaker 3: nineteen eighty seven, and only away games were allowed in
- 54:46Speaker 3: eighty eight, which ended up not mattering because the school
- 54:50Speaker 3: canceled the eighty eight season. Anyhow, the team came back
- 54:53Speaker 3: together in eighty nine with an all tryout squad, and
- 54:58Speaker 3: the Mustangs did not have a winning season until two
- 55:00Speaker 3: thousand and nine.
- 55:02Speaker 2: That's brutal.
- 55:03Speaker 3: That's a long time. That's a really long time, long time.
- 55:07Speaker 3: But yeah, I didn't. So it's a kind of like
- 55:10Speaker 3: the replacements based on a true story, you know, with
- 55:13Speaker 3: some embellishment's likely, of course, but I thought that was interesting.
- 55:17Speaker 2: That is interesting.
- 55:19Speaker 3: Texas State's school colors of green and white are the
- 55:22Speaker 3: same as those of the University of North Texas, which
- 55:25Speaker 3: was the main filming location for this film. So that
- 55:28Speaker 3: was kind of cool. They were like, yeah, we'll go
- 55:29Speaker 3: with it. Let's see when Paul Blake and I never
- 55:34Speaker 3: noticed this. When public gets off the elevator to go
- 55:36Speaker 3: to his dorm room for the first time. You can
- 55:38Speaker 3: see the elevators have been labeled. The one he gets
- 55:42Speaker 3: off says sooner evator and the other says aggravator. So
- 55:48Speaker 3: I thought that was just silly and fun. Yeah, I kid,
- 55:51Speaker 3: being goofballs. Who reads the labels on a on an
- 55:56Speaker 3: elevator rop This person did. Lucy Draper Kathy Ireland plays
- 56:02Speaker 3: the first female place kicker on the Armadillo's team in
- 56:05Speaker 3: nineteen ninety one. Since the film was released, several women
- 56:08Speaker 3: have played college football. Most have either been placekickers or
- 56:12Speaker 3: holders for placekickers, but in twenty fourteen, Shelby Osborne became
- 56:17Speaker 3: a defensive back for Campbellsville University in Kentucky and played
- 56:22Speaker 3: a pass crazy. That's pretty awesome. That's really cool. And
- 56:26Speaker 3: I think there was a kicker even just last year
- 56:30Speaker 3: or something that scored the first d one points maybe
- 56:33Speaker 3: or something. I don't remember. There was a story, yeah,
- 56:36Speaker 3: at some point, So there's a ben some ladies plan
- 56:39Speaker 3: and stuff. Oh, they say Manu's name in Samoan means
- 56:46Speaker 3: run to the litter, but apparently, depending on spelling, it
- 56:49Speaker 3: could also mean seawater or sandwich. Okay, so there's that.
- 56:55Speaker 3: There wasn't a lot of trivia. Did I mention that?
- 56:57Speaker 3: That was all I did? But I like that Sandwich
- 57:02Speaker 3: would have been a good one. Sandwich is great. Yeah,
- 57:04Speaker 3: I love it. How about you? Did you see anything?
- 57:08Speaker 3: Probably not no Zoro things.
- 57:11Speaker 2: I mean I saw the ones that you saw, but
- 57:14Speaker 2: they certainly didn't have people that were up for.
- 57:17Speaker 3: Roles or anything like that. That would have been interesting.
- 57:19Speaker 3: But no, that's cool.
- 57:21Speaker 2: So you know, Judgment Day, will there be a sequel?
- 57:25Speaker 3: I think it'd be fun if there was. Yeah, yeah,
- 57:29Speaker 3: you would be like, yeah, uh, maybe Scott Bakula and
- 57:36Speaker 3: Harley Jane's kid is now of age to play. Although
- 57:40Speaker 3: that love that, it'd probably be too old. But maybe
- 57:43Speaker 3: they're old and coming back and you know, they both
- 57:46Speaker 3: look young.
- 57:47Speaker 2: They could. It could just be true after that.
- 57:51Speaker 3: But yeah, it'd be fun if they're if their kiddo
- 57:52Speaker 3: was playing maybe or something, and you know, maybe it's
- 57:55Speaker 3: just a family affair. We get my news kid comes.
- 57:59Speaker 3: Although I think think he died. I think Manu died.
- 58:02Speaker 3: Oh I didn't see that. Just the last couple of years,
- 58:04Speaker 3: I think check now that I said that.
- 58:08Speaker 2: Yeah, Peter, Peter.
- 58:12Speaker 3: Yeah, February of last year he died or not this year, sorry,
- 58:16Speaker 3: this this year February tenth of this year he passed
- 58:18Speaker 3: a rip. A lot of joy back then. Yeah, I
- 58:22Speaker 3: loved him. He's so good. Thank you. He's a big guy. Though.
- 58:24Speaker 3: I guess.
- 58:27Speaker 2: I think that a sequel would be hilarious if Scott
- 58:31Speaker 2: Beckel had to go back and play again.
- 58:34Speaker 3: I'm into it, sort of a Billy Madison situation. Scott,
- 58:39Speaker 3: you still got ye? Yeah, yeah, I like it.
- 58:46Speaker 2: He's still has the cannon.
- 58:48Speaker 3: What if it's like their kid is a wide receiver
- 58:51Speaker 3: and no one is good enough to throw him the
- 58:53Speaker 3: ball and he's like, I can do it, kid, I
- 58:55Speaker 3: can do it. I like it. I want that.
- 59:00Speaker 2: I'll watch it today. Yeah, dude, I love that. I'm
- 59:03Speaker 2: there for it. That he is too old, right, but yeah,
- 59:11Speaker 2: probably not.
- 59:12Speaker 3: It could be like a he helps you could keep
- 59:15Speaker 3: necessary roughness, but have it be like because flag football
- 59:19Speaker 3: is an Olympic sport now, so like a play on that.
- 59:23Speaker 3: Maybe not the ladies playing or something. Sure, maybe it's
- 59:27Speaker 3: their daughter, Like that'd be kind of fun. It'd be fun. Yeah.
- 59:30Speaker 2: I just want to see him back in D one football,
- 59:33Speaker 2: like like at sixty years old.
- 59:36Speaker 3: A thousand. He just blows up into a puff of smoke.
- 59:39Speaker 3: At some point. I'm into it. I love it. Sign up,
- 59:44Speaker 3: I'll go, I'll watch it.
- 59:47Speaker 2: Would you like to play a game?
- 59:48Speaker 3: Sir, Yeah, I guess yeah.
- 59:51Speaker 2: Scared, We're going to do a last man Stanton. I
- 59:56Speaker 2: put out a tweet love It to our folks to
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: tell us a favorite actor actress with a large filmography,
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: a list of some of them. Uh, we have Clint Howard,
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: which is pretty great. Ron Howard's bro. You just got
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: to think about every Ron Howard movie, Aaron Taylor Johnson.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: Then I got, uh, somebody put four names down. We
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: got Stanley Tucci, Liam Neeson which we like did recently,
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: Helen Mirren and Pierce Bros. Then, oh, this person must
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: have seen The Thursday Murder Club probably, and then uh,
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: we have Eddie Murphy, Robin Williams, Heath Ledger, and Dolly Parton.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: Oh wow.
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: Now, and we had a wonderful patron named Lorraine. Go
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: through and tell us all the people that we have done.
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, this is good. So I already don't.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: Know, and it's quite a few We've done this quite
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: a few times. And we have never done Heath Ledger
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: or Eddie Murphy.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: We haven't done Eddie. That was the one that stood
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: out to me.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: I kind of think we should do Eddie mur Eddie.
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: I'm into it, man, I love Eddie.
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: And we want to give a big shout out to
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: at Symphonic Ellen goes by Ellen Hunt on Twitter. Thank
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: you so much for throwing that at us. Eddie Murphy.
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: I was surprised by that.
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: I'm surprised we've never done that. Yeah, that's I know.
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: Who was the name of the person again, so Ellen Hunt?
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: Oh thank you Ellen. I'm going to know.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: Now I'm paying attention. I'm right, I'm documenting all the
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: people that we use.
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: You're smart. That's good.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: And I went and wrote Ellen Hunt, which isn't helpful.
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: Eddie Murphy is surf we want.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: That is what we want. So Eddie Murphy, and.
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: He's been in a lot of things.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: Huh, he's been a lot of things. Why don't you
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: start us off, buddy?
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: Forty eight hours? Another forty eight hours? Damn uh.
- 1:02:21Speaker 5: Beverly Hills Cop Beverly Hills Cop two three and then
- 1:02:27Speaker 5: Beverly Hills Cop Axel Foley is the fourth one, said did, it's.
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: Back to you.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: We did that so quickly, we really did. I did
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: six movies so quickly.
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: That's probably the fastest we've ever done six of them,
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: right right?
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: Oh, and we could if we want to keep going
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: that way.
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: I was just I was just gonna Shrek Shrek two. Now.
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: I don't think that's what that one's called. Oh maybe
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: it's Is it just the third one that changes? So
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: Shrek the third? Sorry?
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: Is Shrek forever after?
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: Yes? And I think that was the last.
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: One, making a fifth one?
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: Yes, bro, damn yep. Okay, so we did the Shreks,
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: and luckily all of them have ended with me having
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: to do another one right away. So that's.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: Yay.
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: What have we not said yet? So many movies?
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: Uh?
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: Dolomite is my name?
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: Oh deep.
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: Deep game. I'll remember that, but I won't remember.
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: You know, maybe one of our favorites. Coming to America.
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: That's a good one. That's a good one. I mean
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: that was on my list. But that's a good one. Uh,
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: coming to America. There we go. That was what I
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: was looking for.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: Love it another one of our favors. Trading places, great one.
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: No sequel to that that I remember Boomerang is him though.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: Right, No, Boomerang is definitely him. Yeah, yep, yeah.
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: I feel like I get the title of that movie
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: wrong a lot, so I get scared.
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: Let's go another voiceover. We'll do mulan.
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: Oh that's a good one. Good call.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: Uh dream Girls, dream Girls definitely the Nutty Professor.
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: Oh, the Nutty Professor too, which is oh god, there's
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: a thing.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: Oh yeah, mm hmm. I mean I'll give it to you.
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: But I think it was just called the Clumps.
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: Oh wow, yeah, you're right. Or that's another one. I guess.
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: I think it's I think you're right.
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: It's just.
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: No, no, no, I think it's Nutty Professor to.
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: Not hashtag. But yeah, okay, thank you for that.
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: By the way, no problem. Uh, we'll do one that
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: uh norbit norbit is what I'm gonna say.
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: I never saw that.
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: I don't think I did either.
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: Daddy Daycare.
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: Yeah that's right, Yeah that's him, I think, Yeah, I
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: never saw that one either. He also did. I don't
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: know if there is he also did Doctor Doolittle. Right,
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: Oh yeah, good call all.
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: Uh life life Martin Lawrence, that's right, Martin Lawrence. That's
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: a fun movie.
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: Actually, yep, another fun one that I feel like people
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: don't talk about, but it was. It was so funny.
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: Was a bow Finger?
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: Yeah, Martin good call.
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: He was really good in that.
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: It was a fun movie. I get mixed up Bowfinger
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: and Boomerang a lot. Okay, it would have worked in
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: this game, but yeah, I think I watched them at
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: a similar time or something. I don't remember why I
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: felt that way, but uh, okay, boy, is it bad
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: that I'm feeling like we've done a lot already?
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: We have done quite a few. We've done pretty good
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: on Eddie right.
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: Now, Eddie, Eddie, Eddie, Eddie, you beautiful man? Just seen it?
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: Charge anything up in me?
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: Did you see that clip of him talking about his laugh?
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: Yeah? Then he doesn't do it anymore because he feels
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: self conscious.
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I think we talked about it.
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: It makes me so sad. Yeah, that's sad. I don't
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: like that. Yeah, I get it from his standpoint, but
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: I'm just like, oh, I don't want anyone to feel
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: bad about their laugh. That's this. I think Pete Holmes
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: does this thing where he's like, oh, the moment of
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: pure joy. You want to make me insecure? About it. Cool,
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: that's great.
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: Cool.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: Shoot, I should be thinking of a movie by I
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: might be outrop Uh, surely there must be more though,
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: Oh got it? Uh Golden Child?
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I never saw that. Yeah yeah, And then
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: I never saw this either, but I'm I have other
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: ones yea, yeah? But was he was he in the
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: movie Harlem Knights?
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: I think he wasn't Harlem Knights with like Richard Pryor.
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: I think that's right.
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I didn't see that one. But when you
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: said Golden Child, I then went to that time period,
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: so we are harm Knights is in it? Yeah, in
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: nineteen eighty nine, so he is in it nights?
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: Nice, good call to first built.
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: I don't think I ever saw that. I didn't either.
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: What is it? I don't even know anyway.
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: It's set in Harlem okay, yeah, and they're like wearing
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: like old school.
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: Like what are those called, like zoot suits? Like yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: yeah yeah the Roaring twenties or something something like that. Okay,
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: mm hmmm. So I think I'm almost out anyway, So
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: I don't think this is gonna matter, but talk this
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: one through with me. I can't remember what the hell
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: the title is Is it just Vampire in Brooklyn? That
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: is what totally forgot about that Good Call. I liked
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: that movie a lot back in the day.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: Yeah, that came out. I get that one mixed up
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: with Tales from the Crypt, not because they're similar in
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: any way, but they came out at like the exact same.
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: Time when they're both scared.
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, but yeah, but yeah, good Call. I
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: would not have thought of a movie actually.
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: Or it was. I guess I have no idea what
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: it's like.
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I still have some Well Tower Heist I really enjoy.
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: Oh I forgot I was. I still haven't seen that.
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: Actually, that was a fun movie. Roderick in that one too,
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: Broderick Stiller.
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: And the gal from based on.
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: Yes Precious Yes, Gabby something c to Bay or something Bay.
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: Yeah, and there's still like five more people like it's
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: just completely it's Alan Alda I think was the guy
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: who like owned the building. Yeah, it was a lot
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: of people in it. It was fun movie.
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: I might be out now.
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: One that I brought up a few times. It was
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: fun when I it was like one of my first
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: years in college was a movie with him and Roberts
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: Niro and Renee Russo called Showtime.
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: Oh that Yeah, yeah, we talked about it, but I've
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: never seen.
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: Yeah, we had the movie channels and so I've watched
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: it like twelve times. There's one that I just watched
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: with him and Kiki Palmer and Pete Davidson called The Pickup,
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: which is like Prime or like it just came out
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: two weeks ago. There was one back in the nineties
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: called The Distinguished Gentleman where he plays a politician. He
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: goes by the name of Jefferson and then a different
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: president's last name I.
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: Can't remember sure.
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: And then one that kills in the movie Pyramid Game
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: is one called Mister Church that I've never heard of,
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: but either I now know because of those movie games.
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: Damn, yeah, you were good at that. But we did
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: really good. I thought.
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: I think so too. Man, we did a lot.
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: Let me look and see so far we've hit all these.
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: Love that old on.
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: Let me switch to moves here.
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: I think we could have technically done his stand ups,
