- 0:00What if the greatest lesson in trusting God isn't just about the big moments,
- 0:04but also in the small, costly lessons we learn along the way?
- 0:10Welcome to part four of Don't Just Talk About It, Do Something,
- 0:13where Annie shares her poignant journey of trusting God through financial trials.
- 0:18Today, we discover how relying on God's wisdom and provision can transform our
- 0:24hearts and our stewardship. Here's Annie.
- 0:29One of the costly lessons I learned in managing finances was when I discovered
- 0:34how much money could have been a great savings for our business account.
- 0:38Although I had established an accounting system for our business,
- 0:42irregular audits allowed me
- 0:44to overlook small charges I assumed were part of the service we paid for.
- 0:49Sadly, I later found out these charges were actually fraudulent transactions.
- 0:55When I discovered the total amount stolen from our account, my heart broke into pieces.
- 1:01Despite working in our bank, we were unable to recover the full amount of funds.
- 1:06Since then, I overcame my hesitation about updating our accounting software.
- 1:11I searched for a service provider that would offer the features necessary to
- 1:16better manage our accounts.
- 1:17I thank God for leading me to a more affordable service that not only fits our
- 1:24needs but provides more than I was initially looking for.
- 1:27As a planner and someone with a sincere desire to be a good steward of God's
- 1:32blessings, we often find ourselves in challenging situations that threaten our future expenses.
- 1:38Naturally, our first response is to seek additional income so that we won't
- 1:44find ourselves in such a predicament. However, God's ways are different.
- 1:49Sometimes, He allows us to be on that edge, experiencing surprises of provision
- 1:56that go beyond our usual sources.
- 2:00As responsible stewards, we may do our part, taking care of our obligations.
- 2:05But there are instances when circumstances beyond our control occur.
- 2:11Sometimes God allows this so we can learn to trust Him more fully.
- 2:16A trust that covers every part of our lives, including our finances.
- 2:21A trust that isn't solely dependent on calculations or transactional means, such as job or business.
- 2:30I once overheard in a podcast that many of us perceive budgeting or managing
- 2:36finances as simply securing more funds.
- 2:39But what we may not realize is that in doing so, we might be building our trust
- 2:45in money rather than God, who is the true provider.
- 2:49Let's do responsible and biblical budgeting that honors God and His purpose on how we should live.
- 2:55As Ray and I reflect on our various experiences with money, I realize how God
- 3:00often uses such situations to train us in trusting Him more completely.
- 3:05He's changing our hearts, transforming our desires, so that we can truly live
- 3:10according to His will and purpose.
- 3:12Let's not compartmentalize our faith by approaching money differently.
- 3:17Living in faith should flow through every aspect of our lives, including finances.
- 3:24Managing money in a way that honors God means prioritizing His will and trusting
- 3:29Him to provide for our needs.
- 3:32Sometimes the transformation isn't necessarily about earning more money,
- 3:37but reconfiguring how we align our resources with what He's asking us to do.
- 3:43Proverbs 3, verse 5 to 6 says, Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do
- 3:48not lean on your own understanding.
- 3:51In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.

- 4:29As we conclude today's episode, remember that trusting God in every aspect of

- 4:39Annie encourages us to view challenges as opportunities to deepen our dependence on Him.
