- 0:09Sean McAllister: Sure do.
- 0:10Sean McAllister: Plus, DJ John Summit is a music festival favorite, and now he's a Vegas headliner.
- 0:16Sean McAllister: We talked to the young talent about his gig at Fountain Blue.
- 0:20Dayna Roselli: Plus, a free way to experience Dedon Company during the group's residency at the sphere.
- 0:25Sean McAllister: Another production show on the strip is closing, while another longtime headliner plans a new home.
- 0:32Dayna Roselli: It's all this week on Vegas Reveal.
- 0:37Sean McAllister: Vegas Reveal presented by Level Up Law starts now.
- 0:43Dayna Roselli: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 219.
- 0:46Dayna Roselli: Dana Roselli and Sean McAllister here.
- 0:48Dayna Roselli: And you know, Sean, as we just read that open, I was thinking I added a the in front of the sphere when I read it.
- 0:55Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 0:55Dayna Roselli: And like, is that that's like a no-no, right?
- 0:57Dayna Roselli: It's sphere.
- 0:58Sean McAllister: Well, it's officially for branding purposes.
- 1:01Sean McAllister: If you're working for the Madison Square Garden Company, or you're working for sphere, the technical, technically the correct way to say it is sphere.
- 1:13Sean McAllister: No the, no whatever.
- 1:16Sean McAllister: Las Vegas sphere.
- 1:17Dayna Roselli: I think the Bellagio is the same.
- 1:18Dayna Roselli: It's Bellagio.
- 1:20Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 1:20Dayna Roselli: Not the Bellagio Las Vegas.
- 1:22Sean McAllister: But it's like I feel like there needs to be some kind of a setup word in front of it, though.
- 1:30Dayna Roselli: You know what I mean?
- 1:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I feel like it's more like in the structure of the sentence we throw in the the.
- 1:35Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 1:36Dayna Roselli: But if I were to say, hey, I'm thinking of going to the Bellagio today, I'm not going to be like, hey, I'm thinking of going to Bellagio today.
- 1:44Dayna Roselli: I know that is the right way to say it though.
- 1:47Sean McAllister: Right.
- 1:47Sean McAllister: But you know what?
- 1:48Sean McAllister: If I hear it, I'm not going to listen and be like, oh, you were just marketingly incorrect or brandingly incorrect.
- 1:57Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 1:58Dayna Roselli: I feel like as long as the spelling is right, then it's okay.
- 2:01Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 2:01Sean McAllister: Well, as long as we're talking about it, it's getting out there, right?
- 2:04Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 2:05Sean McAllister: The or not.
- 2:07Dayna Roselli: So is it is it Tay and Trav or is it Taylor and Travis?
- 2:11Dayna Roselli: Or is it Travis and Taylor?
- 2:13Sean McAllister: Traver, is that what they've been called?
- 2:15Sean McAllister: Something like Trav.
- 2:16Sean McAllister: Trailer.
- 2:16Dayna Roselli: Yeah, no.
- 2:17Dayna Roselli: We're talking about Taylor Swift, if you know who she is, and Travis Kelsey, who were also back in town in Las Vegas, uh just this past weekend, and it created quite a buzz.
- 2:28Dayna Roselli: And I know it's like, you know, all right, enough Taylor Swift, enough Travis Kelsey, but say what you will, it creates conversation.
- 2:36Sean McAllister: Well, and it creates a ton of buzz, too.
- 2:39Sean McAllister: I mean, almost instantly, once and from the time Taylor's plane touched down in Las Vegas, there were all these like alerts going out on social media.
- 2:50Sean McAllister: Oh, Taylor's plane just touched down.
- 2:52Sean McAllister: She must be going to this big charity event that Travis is doing here.
- 2:56Dayna Roselli: Yeah, Patrick Mahomes, a quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, was in town hosting his charity golf tournament.
- 3:03Dayna Roselli: And there were a bunch of things that happened around that, including some different events, a gala, an auction, and then the tournament.
- 3:11Sean McAllister: Well, and once again, uh the Vegas revealed social media was all over it.
- 3:16Sean McAllister: I I was out on the strip having cocktails for my husband's birthday, and I saw all this stuff popping up, and I I sent you a text.
- 3:25Sean McAllister: I was like, Roselli, what's going on?
- 3:27Sean McAllister: Where's all this Taylor stuff coming from?
- 3:29Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 3:29Dayna Roselli: Well, I was thinking about it during the day when I saw her jet touchdown.
- 3:33Dayna Roselli: Because, you know, people track her private jet.
- 3:35Dayna Roselli: That's how everyone knew she was here, which it's gotta be frustrating for her, but whatever.
- 3:39Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's publicity and she's a billionaire.
- 3:43Dayna Roselli: So um, anyway, um, I was like, oh, let me look around when I got home that night because I had like a long day out and stuff, and I was like, let me see if anyone's with Taylor.
- 3:53Dayna Roselli: And so I started, you know, looking up what the Swifties were up to, and um, they had found an Insta story from this woman that was there, and so I went and tracked her down on Instagram and I started watching all her stories as she was putting them up on Instagram, and then I was like, oh my god, I saw the one where Travis called Taylor his significant other, and I was like, Oh, I gotta post this from Vegas Revealed, and so that's how it all happened, and then and now it's on our YouTube Shorts and going crazy and TikTok.
- 4:21Dayna Roselli: The reason we're even talking about this is uh it's great, you know, a lot of buzz when they're in town and it's a big deal, but it is funny because that video created all these questions on our Vegas Revealed TikTok, and I thought some of them were funny, and we've got to answer them because they're Vegas related.
- 4:36Sean McAllister: And let me tell you, Dana Roselli has been on a Taylor Swift kick ever since this new music came out.
- 4:45Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 4:45Sean McAllister: Just about just about every time we talk, there's some sort of reference back to one of those songs.
- 4:51Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 4:51Sean McAllister: And I love it.
- 4:52Sean McAllister: I'm I'm kind of hooked on this music now, too.
- 4:56Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's good.
- 4:57Dayna Roselli: It really is.
- 4:57Dayna Roselli: The new album's amazing.
- 4:59Dayna Roselli: I loved Midnights when that came out, and then I went to see her at Allegiance Stadium, and that's where I really got hooked because the power of a live concert, she put on a show, the energy in there.
- 5:10Dayna Roselli: So I have just been into it.
- 5:12Sean McAllister: Let's get to these Taylor questions.
- 5:13Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 5:14Dayna Roselli: I was trying to get there, and then you're the one who brought up the other stuff and sidetracked.
- 5:18Dayna Roselli: Sidetracked.
- 5:18Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 5:19Dayna Roselli: Well, listen, somebody said, Why was the auction so vibrant?
- 5:22Dayna Roselli: Because there's an auction, they've got the towels in the air, and they're trying to get everyone to up the bid um for the the Taylor Swift errors tour uh tickets.
- 5:31Dayna Roselli: So um, and the person said, like, I thought you know auctions were like chill and proper and like, you know, holding your little sign up and all this.
- 5:38Dayna Roselli: And and basically the answer to that is no, not in Vegas.
- 5:41Dayna Roselli: No.
- 5:42Dayna Roselli: Um, our auctions, we have gala after gala after auction after auction, great events here in Vegas.
- 5:48Dayna Roselli: Our auctions are fun, they're vibrant, and the whole crowd gets into it.
- 5:52Sean McAllister: It is.
- 5:52Sean McAllister: We just were at a uh auction for a separate charity event, and an audience member got up and got on the mic and started like taunting the rest of the audience members to start bidding.
- 6:04Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's crazy, right?
- 6:05Dayna Roselli: And it's fun, and there's music and there's a live auctioneer, and it's the whole thing.
- 6:10Dayna Roselli: Um, and then someone else asked, Why are they having the charity golf tournament in Vegas and not in Kansas City?
- 6:15Dayna Roselli: And there could be a number of reasons why, but I answered because our golf courses are probably better.
- 6:20Dayna Roselli: Because we have some amazing golf courses here, and I don't know if a lot of people know that, but we have some stunning courses.
- 6:27Sean McAllister: Well, and the one that they uh were playing at is the private course that's owned by MGM.
- 6:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's great.
- 6:32Sean McAllister: So it's and it's beautiful.
- 6:34Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 6:34Dayna Roselli: When I used to be a reporter in the helicopter for Channel 8, um, we'd always fly over it.
- 6:40Sean McAllister: Well, and uh aside from uh the golf course, I have a feeling that Patrick Mahomes and like just likes Vegas.
- 6:48Dayna Roselli: I think likes Vegas.
- 6:49Sean McAllister: After they won Super Bowl and you know, were out on the town.
- 6:53Dayna Roselli: Right, or made a contact who said, Hey, have the tournament here.
- 6:56Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 6:56Dayna Roselli: Or or they figured, you know what, we're always doing stuff in Kansas City.
- 7:00Dayna Roselli: Let's give, let's entice people to come and bid and give money, play in the tournament, come to the gala.
- 7:06Dayna Roselli: Maybe if we make it more of a destination type charity tournament, then you know, a lot of people will come.
- 7:11Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 7:12Dayna Roselli: But um the where they had the gala, that was under wraps.
- 7:14Dayna Roselli: Even if you went to the the website, um, because I did my research, um, you it didn't tell you where it was.
- 7:21Dayna Roselli: You had to click and buy tickets, and then it probably revealed where it was.
- 7:24Dayna Roselli: So that was another question.
- 7:25Dayna Roselli: Where did the gala take place?
- 7:27Dayna Roselli: And so I did a little reverse Google image search and took a screenshot of the carpet, and it was very easy.
- 7:33Dayna Roselli: Bellagio.
- 7:35Dayna Roselli: Not the Bellagio, Bellagio.
- 7:37Sean McAllister: Bellagio.
- 7:38Dayna Roselli: Um, well, that's what I took from it, not confirmed.
- 7:41Dayna Roselli: My matching skills could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they're right.
- 7:45Sean McAllister: But it does make sense because I think it was even the night before um Travis and Taylor and Brittany and Patrick Mahomes were went to the Proper Eats Food Hall where there's a speakeasy and they hung out there, and that's kind of like that's over at Aria, and there's a bridge now that connects Aria to Bellagio.
- 8:07Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 8:07Dayna Roselli: So yeah, maybe they're all in that vicinity.
- 8:09Sean McAllister: They were just kind of hanging there.
- 8:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 8:10Sean McAllister: And Bellagio is an MGM property, just like Aria.
- 8:13Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 8:14Sean McAllister: And the golf course is owned by MGM.
- 8:16Sean McAllister: Look at all these dots being connected.
- 8:18Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 8:18Dayna Roselli: All right, well, let's move on from that.
- 8:20Dayna Roselli: That was fun though.
- 8:21Dayna Roselli: Um, you know, it creates buzz, and whenever we have like A-listers in town, it's just more advertisement for Vegas, and we like that.
- 8:29Sean McAllister: Let's switch gears and talk about Formula One.
- 8:32Sean McAllister: The race is coming up again in mid-November here in Las Vegas.
- 8:36Sean McAllister: And even though it seems like it's kind of far off, it's really not.
- 8:40Sean McAllister: And there's little tidbits of information starting to come out about the race, uh, including the fact that Fountain Blue has been announced as an official partner of the Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix, and they're building a nightclub on top of the garage building at F1 headquarters.
- 9:02Dayna Roselli: And I know.
- 9:03Dayna Roselli: Live Las Vegas will be up there.
- 9:05Dayna Roselli: Jeez.
- 9:06Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 9:06Dayna Roselli: It's so cool.
- 9:07Dayna Roselli: And you know, Fountain Blue wasn't open for the last Grand Prix, right?
- 9:10Dayna Roselli: No, it wasn't.
- 9:11Sean McAllister: It was just before Fountain Blue opened.
- 9:14Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so this is cool that they're now in on the game and luxury.
- 9:17Dayna Roselli: You know, F1 is very luxurious, and so it's a perfect match, I think.
- 9:20Dayna Roselli: They say they're gonna have A-less entertainment there, and that all of the people that are, you know, at the Paddock Club will be able to, you know, dance the night away, get table service, all that kind of thing.
- 9:33Dayna Roselli: And so the um details for all that coming out, but Fountain Blue also announced they're gonna have a shuttle stop for ticketed live and paddock club guests as well.
- 9:43Sean McAllister: So, I mean, that's gonna be uh just taking that F1 experience to the next level, literally the next level.
- 9:50Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 9:51Sean McAllister: Because there was nothing up on the roof last time.
- 9:53Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 9:53Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 9:55Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 9:56Sean McAllister: Uh so yeah, that's great for Fountain Blue um that they're gonna have that club there.
- 10:01Sean McAllister: Speaking of Fountain Blue clubs, uh, John Summit, he has been an absolute hit on the music festival scene.
- 10:09Sean McAllister: Uh, he's also a headliner at Live Night Club and Live Beach Club over at Fountain Blue.
- 10:17Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 10:17Dayna Roselli: We actually chatted with him about landing the Fountain Blue as a regular DJ at the hotel's opening in December.
- 10:25Dayna Roselli: And I don't think we really played that interview.
- 10:27Dayna Roselli: So um, since there's a lot of buzz about him and he's gonna be playing EDC here in Las Vegas coming up, we thought let's roll that interview.
- 10:35Sean McAllister: What are you going to bring to Vegas nightlife that isn't already here?
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: I think energy and new music, you know, because I'm coming the new wave of DJs right now, and I think the city needed something new and exciting.
- 10:49SPEAKER_03: I think we're gonna be we we are known for great DJs, but you know, I love that you are something new to exciting people.
- 10:58SPEAKER_03: What are we gonna get from you?
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: Somebody is coming to the world in the visa for a money just in the whole summer and visa.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: I think it's good to have the whole deal.
- 11:40Dayna Roselli: I think I said this in the TV show, but my friend's daughter, who's like a freshman in college, liked my John Summit post or photo or whatever it was.
- 11:49Dayna Roselli: Um, and so I was like, wow, okay, now she thinks I'm a big deal because I talked to John Summit.
- 11:54Dayna Roselli: He's a big deal to the youngsters.
- 11:57Sean McAllister: He is.
- 11:57Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 11:57Sean McAllister: And now you are too.
- 11:59Sean McAllister: I know, really popular, huh?
- 12:01Dayna Roselli: Well, again, he is gonna be at EDC as well, May 17th to Sunday, May 19th, uh, here in town.
- 12:07Dayna Roselli: You can see John Summit.
- 12:08Dayna Roselli: He's got a full schedule over at Fountain Blue as well.
- 12:12Sean McAllister: Well, now to a longtime Las Vegas headliner, Terry Fader.
- 12:17Sean McAllister: He got his start on America's Got Talent, landed a permanent residency gig uh here in Las Vegas.
- 12:25Sean McAllister: He started at the Mirage, then moved to New York, New York.
- 12:28Sean McAllister: And now he has developed a completely new show and has a new home for that show.
- 12:35Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he's gonna be going over to the Strat starting May 23rd.
- 12:39Dayna Roselli: So congratulations to Terry.
- 12:41Dayna Roselli: You know, he started over at the Mirage, then he was at New York, New York.
- 12:44Dayna Roselli: Now the Strat, you know, a winner, the big, big winner of America's Got Talent when that show was brand new.
- 12:52Dayna Roselli: And so Terry's still here, uh making his home here in Las Vegas, does some touring, but um also has been headlining here in uh Vegas on the strip for such a long time now.
- 13:03Dayna Roselli: Um I remember when he started, and it seems like forever ago, but it's more than 10 years ago, more than close to 15 years ago, I think.
- 13:11Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's been a long time.
- 13:13Dayna Roselli: It's been a long time.
- 13:14Dayna Roselli: So he'll be doing this new show over at the Strat if you'd like to see um Terry Fader.
- 13:18Dayna Roselli: Great voice, he's a ventriloquist, he's got the funniest songs and parodies and and puppets, and um his cast of characters, I guess you'd call it.
- 13:28Dayna Roselli: And it's just it's a great show and it's entertaining and it's family friendly.
- 13:32Sean McAllister: It is.
- 13:33Sean McAllister: And Terry always does such a great job.
- 13:36Sean McAllister: There's always new characters popping up in his show as well.
- 13:39Sean McAllister: So good for Terry.
- 13:41Dayna Roselli: And last week um we talked to Gleb Savchenko, who is the celebrity host in Chippendale.
- 13:47Dayna Roselli: So we did go see the show after that interview.
- 13:49Dayna Roselli: It was a lot of fun.
- 13:50Dayna Roselli: We had a great time.
- 13:51Dayna Roselli: But Sean, I wanted to talk about real quick.
- 13:53Dayna Roselli: When I was walking into the Chippendales show, I was going over this bridge from the parking garage, and I was with a couple who uh the woman said she was celebrating her 60th birthday in Vegas.
- 14:04Dayna Roselli: They were from Des Moines, and they rented a car and they had just run out to get some things.
- 14:10Dayna Roselli: They wanted to go to the store, you know, get some things for the room.
- 14:12Dayna Roselli: They were getting ready to go to Penn and Teller later, and they were excited to be here.
- 14:16Dayna Roselli: But man, they said they were so frustrated with the Vegas drivers.
- 14:22Dayna Roselli: And I thought I have to tell Sean this story.
- 14:24Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, um, I felt for them.
- 14:27Dayna Roselli: They were like, boy, it's a jungle out there.
- 14:29Dayna Roselli: And I was like, that's so interesting.
- 14:30Dayna Roselli: I'm like, yeah, you're not in Des Moines anymore.
- 14:32Sean McAllister: No, it's scary.
- 14:33Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they were like, it was, it was, she's like, man, and she was really like kind of flustered.
- 14:37Dayna Roselli: She was like, It's, you know, it's a battle out there on the roads.
- 14:41Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, I know, especially if you aren't familiar with the city, it can be tough.
- 14:44Dayna Roselli: But they had gone uh to do that and and were complaining about that.
- 14:48Dayna Roselli: I felt her pain.
- 14:48Dayna Roselli: And then she said um that they were staying at the Rio, and I said, How's the room?
- 14:52Dayna Roselli: Are you in a renovated room?
- 14:53Dayna Roselli: And she said, No, we're in a non-renovated room.
- 14:56Dayna Roselli: She goes, but you know what?
- 14:57Dayna Roselli: It's great.
- 14:57Dayna Roselli: Like, we don't we don't mind it at all.
- 14:59Dayna Roselli: It's nice.
- 14:59Dayna Roselli: So I was glad that they were happy with the Rio after we just did that big interview, you know, with the new owner.
- 15:04Sean McAllister: Absolutely.
- 15:05Sean McAllister: That's great to hear.
- 15:06Sean McAllister: I love that that people are are popping over to the Rio, and you know, hopefully this is the beginning of the property's comeback.
- 15:15Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 15:15Dayna Roselli: Now, do we want to discuss um your gripe of the week or do we want to save that for next podcast?
- 15:20Sean McAllister: Let's save it for the next one.
- 15:22Dayna Roselli: Because it'll be a good topic.
- 15:23Sean McAllister: Even though it does tie in with the frustration that that couple from Des Moines was having with drivers.
- 15:29Sean McAllister: Not it doesn't specifically have to do with drivers.
- 15:32Sean McAllister: No.
- 15:32Sean McAllister: We'll put a pin in it.
- 15:33Sean McAllister: It's about bringing your kids to Vegas.
- 15:35Dayna Roselli: Okay, yeah, that's next week.
- 15:36Sean McAllister: That's coming up next week.
- 15:37Dayna Roselli: Coming up next week.
- 15:38Sean McAllister: On episode 220.
- 15:39Sean McAllister: It'll be a lively one.
- 15:42Sean McAllister: We wanted to remind you, Vegas Revealed is presented by Level Up Law.
- 15:46Sean McAllister: Now you don't have to live in Nevada to get help from Level Up.
- 15:50Dayna Roselli: Do you have a wrongful death case or been in a motor vehicle accident, even harmed in a ride share?
- 15:56Dayna Roselli: You can call Level Up Law Now at 855 Level Up.
- 16:00Sean McAllister: If you've experienced a slip and fall, were injured in a place of business or on a construction site, call Level Up Law Now.
- 16:08Sean McAllister: Maybe even property damage, wind resulting in down trees, wildfires, water damage.
- 16:14Sean McAllister: The experience team at Level Up can help you.
- 16:18Dayna Roselli: Go to leveluplaw.com for more information or call them at 855 Level Up.
- 16:25Dayna Roselli: All right, we are excited to talk, travel, Sean, and also talk about a brand new site that I think is going to be really helpful for people.
- 16:34Sean McAllister: Well, and not only helpful for people who are looking to plan a Las Vegas trip, but also trips across the country and around the world.
- 16:43Sean McAllister: Dana Maniker is the creator of the short list.
- 16:46Sean McAllister: It's good to see you.
- 16:47SPEAKER_02: Great to see you too.
- 16:48Dayna Roselli: And thank you for having me today.
- 16:50Dayna Roselli: Now, Dana, I get so many phone calls, texts in the middle of an unexpected day saying, Hey, I'm coming to Vegas.
- 16:58Dayna Roselli: Can you recommend any spots that nobody knows about or where should I go?
- 17:02Dayna Roselli: And I want to eliminate that.
- 17:03Dayna Roselli: So I feel like the shortlist is going to help with that.
- 17:05Dayna Roselli: Am I right?
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: Send them to theshortlist.com where they will absolutely find the best of the best uh recommendations that are uh provided to you by locals who are A-listers and truly unbiased, vetted, and trusted.
- 17:20Dayna Roselli: Well, when you say A-lister, so this tell us a little bit about how this website works.
- 17:24Dayna Roselli: Um, because I love it.
- 17:25Dayna Roselli: It's different than just like if I were to go on and look at a site where, you know, hundreds of people reviewed something and I went off that.
- 17:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:33SPEAKER_02: So A-listers are uh locals that either have been born and raised in a city like Las Vegas or um have been been here for a long time and are really living and breathing the recommendations that they're sharing uh with us.
- 17:48SPEAKER_02: And so at the shortlist, we have a very uh thorough vetting process on bringing on those A-listers, making sure that they really are, if they're recommending nightclubs, let's say they're out and about, you know, a few nights a week and really living that life, being able to dissect the differences between what a great club is and what is just so-so and not worth going to.
- 18:09SPEAKER_02: Same for call it a uh someone that is really into dim sum in Chinatown, let's say, right?
- 18:15SPEAKER_02: There's so many restaurants.
- 18:17SPEAKER_02: And how do you filter through that?
- 18:19SPEAKER_02: So you have mass review sites like the TripAdvisors and the Yelps, where you have thousands and hundreds of thousands of people reviewing certain places, but you just don't know who they are.
- 18:28SPEAKER_02: You don't necessarily trust them.
- 18:31SPEAKER_02: They may be related to the chef or don't like the chef and then are giving them a really bad review, or just people that don't have like-minded tastes like yourself.
- 18:41Dayna Roselli: I agree about the Chinatown thing.
- 18:42Dayna Roselli: It's hard.
- 18:43Dayna Roselli: It looks like there's so many great restaurants, but I don't know which one.
- 18:46Sean McAllister: It does, but it I mean, it basically sounds like your A-listers have to be connoisseurs of the recommendations they're providing, not just a casual, a casual bop into a club.
- 18:58Sean McAllister: The nightlife scene needs to be their thing.
- 19:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Sean, that's actually a great way of putting it, a connoisseur.
- 19:04SPEAKER_02: It's um being um able to dissect their recommendations because they're again living living the life they they have authority, right?
- 19:13SPEAKER_02: They're the type of person that others listen to in a room.
- 19:17SPEAKER_02: They are completely unbiased, they're unpaid by the restaurants, and they're not gonna be our restaurants, hotels, activities, and so forth.
- 19:24SPEAKER_02: They're not being paid for their recommendation, they're being paid by us as A-listers.
- 19:29SPEAKER_02: So that's a huge differentiator.
- 19:31Dayna Roselli: And are a lot of these places places they would go anyway, or places they have frequented and already know, like I've had good service here, their food's good, this is one of my recommendations.
- 19:40Dayna Roselli: Go.
- 19:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, definitely.
- 19:42SPEAKER_02: So they they have to be going to those places on a regular basis, not because they want to give provide a recommendation for the shortlist.
- 19:50SPEAKER_02: So that wouldn't really qualify as an A-list or recommendation.
- 19:55SPEAKER_02: Um, it's something that they would be attending.
- 19:57SPEAKER_02: So let's say you're looking at Italian restaurants in Las Vegas, and a new one pops up.
- 20:03SPEAKER_02: They and and it's a higher-end Italian restaurant, they must have had to go to what we call it Sinatra and Carbone and all the other ones to really understand what is good Italian food, what is mediocre Italian food, and what is just not so good.
- 20:16SPEAKER_02: And one of the good things about um our um final recommendations with the shortlist is that we have a vibe meter.
- 20:23SPEAKER_02: So it'll also allow you to identify, let's say you want to go to a place that has a better vibe, but the food is just okay.
- 20:31SPEAKER_02: Um we feel like it's worth recommending because of the ambiance that you may be looking for.
- 20:37SPEAKER_02: And with the vibe meter, you're getting the indicators of what's top-notch on food, but a little less chic.
- 20:43SPEAKER_02: You know, if you're looking for a chic spot, that might not be the place to go to.
- 20:48SPEAKER_02: So um, yeah, I think we're loving the vibe meter.
- 20:51SPEAKER_02: I we might need to use that on the podcast.
- 20:53Sean McAllister: I was just gonna say, I didn't know I needed a vibe meter in my life so badly.
- 20:57Sean McAllister: This is amazing.
- 20:58Sean McAllister: It is.
- 20:59Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 21:00Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, the vibe meter.
- 21:02Dayna Roselli: This is great.
- 21:04Dayna Roselli: I absolutely love it.
- 21:05Dayna Roselli: And I recognize some of the A-listers that you have on the Vegas site of the shortlist.
- 21:09Dayna Roselli: And I notice there's also like a like a real variety.
- 21:13SPEAKER_02: Yes, we definitely want to make sure, you know, it's not just for one type of traveler.
- 21:17SPEAKER_02: So, as far as the audience for the shortlist is concerned, it's really um anybody that is looking to get the best of the best experience for the type of category you're looking for.
- 21:28SPEAKER_02: So it could be a connoisseur when it comes to food trucks, right?
- 21:31SPEAKER_02: And just local, what are the best food trucks in town?
- 21:33SPEAKER_02: What are the best um hikes in town?
- 21:36SPEAKER_02: If you're coming in for a convention and you have an extra day, but you're really an outdoorsy person want to steer clear from the nightclub and and gaming scene, you may want to be able to do some hikes.
- 21:45SPEAKER_02: Like, and so it's for that.
- 21:47SPEAKER_02: And it's really for anyone that's looking to search less and experience more.
- 21:50Sean McAllister: So I think that's a a really good important the best of the best of whatever category you're looking at.
- 21:55Sean McAllister: And the best of the best doesn't necessarily mean it's going to cost an arm and a leg.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: Um, definitely not.
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: It it can also be a local farmers market, it can be um a park that is just close by and really convenient for for anybody, let's say, traveling with a family.
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: We also have the designed by locals page.
- 22:14SPEAKER_02: So even though it is um a global travel platform in that sense, it is also an entertainment platform.
- 22:23SPEAKER_02: So there'll be one section that is dedicated just to anybody that lives local, and it'll have more ideas out there and more restaurant recommendations, um, local food festivals, uh, little concerts, movies in the park, any kind of activities that we really find uh will be um appealing to our audience.
- 22:44Sean McAllister: And you are expanding outside of Las Vegas too.
- 22:47Sean McAllister: It's not just recommendations for the city we live in and love.
- 22:52SPEAKER_02: Yes, so we are expanding globally.
- 22:54SPEAKER_02: Um Miami is a short follow to Vegas, so that's in the works of launching.
- 22:59SPEAKER_02: We have major um travel destinations in the US, such as um San Francisco, Denver, um, LA, New York, Austin, and so forth, as well as internationally.
- 23:10SPEAKER_02: So we're looking to expand to um the big cities at first and then taking it from there.
- 23:16Dayna Roselli: And a lot of our listeners, we have listeners from really around the world, and they love to either uh hear about Vegas, visit Vegas, have hopes of visiting Vegas, or are planning a trip.
- 23:26Dayna Roselli: I mean, why do you recommend um Vegas in the summertime?
- 23:29Dayna Roselli: Because I know we were chatting about some options, and I think a lot of people think to themselves, uh, they hear the desert, it's so hot in the summer, but we do have a lot of variety of things to do.
- 23:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so well, first of all, Vegas in the summertime is great because rates are a lot lower than what they are throughout the year as there's less conventions um and events happening around town.
- 23:51SPEAKER_02: Additionally, there's so many different indoor activities.
- 23:54SPEAKER_02: So you have the mall, you have amazing shopping, restaurants, uh, shows, concert venues, and and so forth that are all indoors as well as the pool scene.
- 24:04SPEAKER_02: So if you are coming with to party to Vegas, you don't have to stay up all night and go to a nightclub.
- 24:10SPEAKER_02: You can just party during the day at one of the many amazing pool clubs that are out there.
- 24:15SPEAKER_02: And then you also have the child-friendly pools like the one, the the the beach at Mandalay Bay, for example, and um just lots of fun things to do.
- 24:24Sean McAllister: And uh, Dana, I know you're a big traveler.
- 24:27Sean McAllister: You have amazing trips that you go on.
- 24:30Sean McAllister: Uh what is the uh number one travel tip that you have for people that will make their overall experience go just a little smoother?
- 24:40SPEAKER_02: I would say plan ahead.
- 24:42SPEAKER_02: Um, I definitely uh think that's a really important factor.
- 24:46SPEAKER_02: I think having um kind of where we come in also with the short list is being able to, once you book a trip, to book the activities and the restaurants around it.
- 24:56SPEAKER_02: Because if you're gonna wait to book a restaurant till you arrive at the hotel on your trip and you're dealing with the concierge, you're not gonna get into the places that you're gonna want to get into.
- 25:05SPEAKER_02: So it's better to overplan and then make some changes as things get closer than to not plan at all and um try to wing it.
- 25:13Sean McAllister: So do you think when you're planning a trip and planning your dinners, activities, whatever, is it better to almost overbook your trip and then cancel things that might not end up fitting in?
- 25:26SPEAKER_02: Definitely.
- 25:27SPEAKER_02: Especially even with restaurants, you know, because you may not know month out what type of cuisine you feel like, but you want to have options.
- 25:34SPEAKER_02: And if you want a primetime table at 7 p.m.
- 25:37SPEAKER_02: or 7 30 p.m.
- 25:38SPEAKER_02: at a great restaurant, you're not gonna be able to get it if it's a week out.
- 25:42SPEAKER_02: So or let's say you book Chinese on a given night and you're not in the mood for Chinese and you want something different, it's almost impossible to get a reservation the day off.
- 25:52SPEAKER_02: And even though we don't have um the access component fully rolled out yet, that will be another area of the short list that we will be providing for a fee to get that exclusive restaurant access and so forth.
- 26:05Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I love it.
- 26:06Dayna Roselli: I mean, and and even from way earlier when you brought up the reviews, I just think, you know, I see so many people posting on social media that own restaurants or own, you know, attractions and say, I notice we're getting flooded with these reviews that seem off.
- 26:20Dayna Roselli: Something's fishy, you know, and and it doesn't allow people to take them down or flag them.
- 26:25Dayna Roselli: So I mean, I think just maybe avoiding it could be the way to go.
- 26:28Dayna Roselli: And this is really gonna work well.
- 26:30SPEAKER_02: I mean, for sure.
- 26:31SPEAKER_02: I think that when you look at, you know, the free coffee in exchange for a review or whatnot, it just um makes it so biased.
- 26:39SPEAKER_02: And you just don't know if someone is reviewing a place because they actually truly believe it, or if they're um getting incentivized to do so.
- 26:49SPEAKER_02: Same with uh with influencers.
- 26:51SPEAKER_02: So there's a lot of influencers out there that will be recommending and promoting things because they're getting paid or they're getting a free meal.
- 26:59SPEAKER_02: And that's something that we're completely steering clear from is just making sure.
- 27:03SPEAKER_02: So even though we're getting a list of recommendations, once that recommendation comes in, it is heavily vetted by our own internal shortlist team to ensure that it's meeting all the metrics in order for us to put it on the list.
- 27:16Sean McAllister: Yeah, right.
- 27:18Sean McAllister: That's that's amazing because I know one of the things that people are talking about now in the influencer world is the disclosure or lack thereof.
- 27:26Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 27:26Sean McAllister: And you never know, well, is this person getting something, you know, in exchange for saying this is the best pizza place ever in Las Vegas?
- 27:36Dayna Roselli: I know, and you're like, have you been to every pizza place?
- 27:38SPEAKER_02: Or exactly.
- 27:39SPEAKER_02: So it's have you been to every pizza place?
- 27:41SPEAKER_02: I think that, you know, gathering ideas from certain influencers where you know they're only recommending brands that they believe in, I think that's different.
- 27:50SPEAKER_02: But it's again really hard to dissect who are those influencers versus the influencers that are just uh promoting whatever they can to make a quick buck.
- 28:00SPEAKER_02: So it's a very different world out there.
- 28:02Dayna Roselli: So it is.
- 28:03Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 28:04Dayna Roselli: It's interesting.
- 28:05Dayna Roselli: Listen, Dana, thank you so much for joining us.
- 28:07Dayna Roselli: If people want to check out the site, it's shortlist.com.
- 28:10Dayna Roselli: No vowels, right?
- 28:12Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 28:12Dayna Roselli: No vowels.
- 28:13Dayna Roselli: Yeah, come visit us.
- 28:15Sean McAllister: And if you don't feel like figuring out what shortlist is without the vowels, grab a pen and paper because we're about to give it to you really easy.
- 28:24Sean McAllister: It's shr.com.
- 28:29Dayna Roselli: All right, got it.
- 28:30Sean McAllister: Rewind 10 seconds if you need to hear it again.
- 28:34Dayna Roselli: All right, let's do some tips.
- 28:39Sean McAllister: Our first tip this week is do not hesitate to go and see America's Got Talent presents Superstars Live.
- 28:49Sean McAllister: This is the show that's been playing over at the Luxor for several years now.
- 28:54Sean McAllister: Um, but this is your last chance to see this production because it's closing in about a week.
- 28:59Dayna Roselli: Yeah, the final show is Saturday, May 11th.
- 29:02Dayna Roselli: And so um it's your last chance, like you said.
- 29:05Dayna Roselli: It's a great show because there's a variety of acts in it, and I think people really enjoyed that.
- 29:09Dayna Roselli: And also it is family friendly.
- 29:11Dayna Roselli: In fact, we were just chatting with Dana from the short list, and she was saying, I love that show because she could bring the kids.
- 29:16Dayna Roselli: And so it was a great option over there.
- 29:19Dayna Roselli: And it is closing Saturday, May 11th.
- 29:22Dayna Roselli: You can go to Luxord.com if you want to get tickets to one of the final shows, get over there and um enjoy because you know, things come and go here a lot, and it's sad to see, but it's just kind of what happens, and sometimes if you haven't, you think you're gonna have forever to see something, and then if you're like, I've always meant to go see that and you haven't, well, now you have one week.
- 29:46Sean McAllister: I know that's happened to me before, and I I regret it, especially with entertainers.
- 29:52Sean McAllister: Right.
- 29:52Dayna Roselli: Well, and you went to see love just recently because you heard it was closing July 7th, and you ran over there to make sure that that you saw it again.
- 29:59Sean McAllister: And I want to go back and see it again.
- 30:01Dayna Roselli: Again.
- 30:02Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 30:02Dayna Roselli: All right, good to know.
- 30:04Dayna Roselli: Hey, um, Dead and Company are coming over to Sphere, and not the Sphere, Sphere, and uh, we've talked about that.
- 30:11Dayna Roselli: They're doing a whole residency over there, they're the next act in the sphere, and a lot of people are looking forward to that.
- 30:16Dayna Roselli: And we wanted to let you know about something that's happening surrounding that that's free.
- 30:20Dayna Roselli: Yes, I said free, and it's over at the Venetian.
- 30:23Sean McAllister: Yeah, this is the Dead and Company free experience.
- 30:27Sean McAllister: It's called Dead Forever Experience.
- 30:30Sean McAllister: Um, this is gonna be kind of a hub for all of the the dead fans that come into town, they're gonna have merchandise, there's gonna be uh exhibits that kind of go through the the band's history and their legacy, which is it's gonna be a cool thing.
- 30:45Sean McAllister: If you remember when U2 was here, they had the U2 something experience.
- 30:54Sean McAllister: It was free, and that was free too.
- 30:56Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 30:57Sean McAllister: Uh so this is along those same lines, but it gives fans who are in town to see this show an extra attraction to kind of boost their overall experience.
- 31:08Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 31:09Dayna Roselli: And and if you can't get to the show, maybe you can't afford it or it's not in the works, or maybe you arrive in town and you go, I didn't realize they were playing, I didn't get a ticket, but hey, everyone, let's go check out this free exhibit, you know?
- 31:20Dayna Roselli: And then maybe you buy some merch, you know, or something like that.
- 31:23Dayna Roselli: So that's kind of cool.
- 31:25Dayna Roselli: Um, I love that.
- 31:25Dayna Roselli: And if you're not familiar with Dead and Company, by the way, it's uh members of The Grateful Dead, and also John Mayer is part of this group as well.
- 31:35Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 31:35Dayna Roselli: So um, like you said, there's a lot of history there with the The Grateful Dead, and um, it's over at the Venetian uh resort, so it it's interactive.
- 31:44Dayna Roselli: Like you said, it's 22,000 square feet of exhibit space, so there's a lot to do.
- 31:50Dayna Roselli: Um, and it's across two floors, so it sounds like it'll be good.
- 31:52Sean McAllister: Yeah, and it's right there off the big uh atrium, the waterfall atrium there.
- 31:57Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 31:58Sean McAllister: Um, over at the Venetian.
- 31:59Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 32:00Dayna Roselli: Hey, thanks to our presenting sponsor, Level Up Law.
- 32:03Dayna Roselli: You can call 855 Level Up if you need an attorney.
- 32:08Dayna Roselli: They are based out of Arizona, but you don't have to live in Arizona.

- 32:18Dayna Roselli: It's 855 Level Up and they'll point you in the right direction and be able to help.
- 32:24Sean McAllister: Also, we want to say thank you to the Vegas Near Me app.

- 32:38Sean McAllister: Uh, just go to the respective stores.
- 32:41Sean McAllister: Wherever you get your apps, get Vegas Near Me from there.
- 32:44Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and we started this new um texting service on our podcast.
- 32:48Dayna Roselli: So we enabled it in our pod, uh like our podcast hosting site.
- 32:53Dayna Roselli: Um, and if you go into our show notes, there should be a link right at the top that says text us.
- 32:58Dayna Roselli: And so if you want to send us a message, send us an idea, send us a question, feel free and we'll read them here on the show.
- 33:04Sean McAllister: Yeah, I can't wait to get our first text.
- 33:06Sean McAllister: Who's gonna be the first text?
- 33:08Dayna Roselli: Well, I tried it out already and it worked.
- 33:10Dayna Roselli: So I don't count though.
- 33:11Sean McAllister: How about the first listener to text us?
- 33:13Dayna Roselli: Well, I listen.
- 33:14Sean McAllister: You do listen.
- 33:17Dayna Roselli: Yes, who is gonna be the first?
- 33:19Dayna Roselli: What will they get?
- 33:20Dayna Roselli: They will get the biggest shout out and we'll we'll pick a certain track of music just for you.
- 33:25Sean McAllister: How about that?
- 33:26Sean McAllister: We might have some goodies too.
- 33:27Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 33:28Sean McAllister: Maybe.
- 33:28Dayna Roselli: Well, your husband just got uh what did he get for his birthday?
- 33:31Sean McAllister: A steel drum.
- 33:32Dayna Roselli: Steel drum.
- 33:33Dayna Roselli: Yeah, maybe we get him in here for the first texture.
- 33:39Dayna Roselli: Jane, where's that steel drum?
- 33:44Dayna Roselli: He was laughing.
- 33:45Dayna Roselli: Like, how can we utilize this?
- 33:46Dayna Roselli: Can you guys use it use this in any way?
- 33:48Dayna Roselli: I'm like, well, maybe.
- 33:49Dayna Roselli: Maybe, maybe sound effects.
- 33:51Dayna Roselli: So anyway, I yeah, we've I wonder who the first texture will be.
- 33:56Dayna Roselli: Let's wrap this show off, baby.
- 33:57Dayna Roselli: I will see you next week for 220.
