- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on you. Uh huh, I sure will.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Good morning everybody you're listening to the voice, Come on
- 0:09Speaker 2: dig me now. One and only Steve Harley got a
- 0:12Speaker 2: radio show. I have something, and it so describes how
- 0:17Speaker 2: I was living. It so captures the feelings that I
- 0:23Speaker 2: had about beginning on the pathway of my dreams. It
- 0:27Speaker 2: so describes how I felt when I was about to
- 0:32Speaker 2: attempt something. And I have some striking news for you.
- 0:37Speaker 2: It describes often how I feel still today to a degree.
- 0:42Speaker 2: So let me tell you what that is. Here's an
- 0:44Speaker 2: analogy that I've heard a couple of different ways, but
- 0:50Speaker 2: I've kind of, you know, fixed it around to where
- 0:52Speaker 2: I can drink it better, and I think it fits
- 0:55Speaker 2: my personality to describe it to people best this way.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Talked often about the urgency of doing something with your life,
- 1:06Speaker 2: of getting started today, of stopping the procrastination and putting
- 1:10Speaker 2: it off, and waiting on all your ducks to line
- 1:13Speaker 2: up in a row, and waiting until the stars align themselves.
- 1:17Speaker 2: If you waiting on such a thing, you're never gonna
- 1:20Speaker 2: get started. I don't know too many people who can
- 1:22Speaker 2: say that all the ducks just lined up in the row.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Things happen.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Even when you get them lined up, one of the
- 1:29Speaker 2: ducks get out of line, or somebody knock over the domino.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Something happens. But here's the point I'm getting at. God
- 1:38Speaker 2: has so many blessings available to you.
- 1:45Speaker 1: You who's listening.
- 1:47Speaker 2: God has so many blessings available to you from where.
- 1:51Speaker 1: You are right now.
- 1:54Speaker 2: I don't care what you've gotten yourself into or what
- 1:57Speaker 2: you've done. God has so many blessings that he can
- 2:02Speaker 2: send your way.
- 2:05Speaker 1: But you have to do something. See a lot of
- 2:08Speaker 1: people just sit.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Around and go man, I don't and something always happening
- 2:13Speaker 2: to you. You're always getting a break, You're always doing this.
- 2:15Speaker 2: You always doing man, No nothing come my way. Listen
- 2:19Speaker 2: to me. If nothing ever comes your way, you know
- 2:21Speaker 2: why that is. It's because you're not doing anything. I
- 2:25Speaker 2: promise you you're not. Here's a deal. God has all
- 2:28Speaker 2: these blessings he wants to send you, but you got
- 2:31Speaker 2: to give him something to work with. Now, come on,
- 2:35Speaker 2: God will bless you. God can touch people's hearts on
- 2:39Speaker 2: your behalf. He can move situations around for you. He
- 2:42Speaker 2: can align the stars. He can set the ducks up
- 2:45Speaker 2: in the row, but align the stars and move people
- 2:48Speaker 2: around and touch people's hearts and set the ducks.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Up in the row. For what have you put forth
- 2:54Speaker 1: any effort?
- 2:55Speaker 2: Have you made a single step in any direction to
- 2:58Speaker 2: do the right thing the right way that gives him
- 3:02Speaker 2: something to put his finger on. Come on, man, God
- 3:06Speaker 2: can only bless you according to your faith. If you
- 3:11Speaker 2: have a little bit of faith, give him that, Let
- 3:13Speaker 2: him work with that. You know, man, I didn't always
- 3:15Speaker 2: start with these speeches.
- 3:17Speaker 1: You hear in the morning.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Now. I ain't always had these. I grew to these.
- 3:21Speaker 2: I stumbled my way to these. I messed up my
- 3:25Speaker 2: way to these.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Here. I got it.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Wrong so many times to be able to sound like
- 3:30Speaker 2: I got some sense, I said it often.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Failure is a wonderful teacher.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Do you know how many times I have had to
- 3:37Speaker 2: have failed to have what I have in my head today?
- 3:40Speaker 2: I'm telling you, man, it's a process. People get mad
- 3:44Speaker 2: at the process. You got to do something to give
- 3:48Speaker 2: God something to work with. He'll bless you. But what
- 3:50Speaker 2: you want me to bless If you ain't putting forth
- 3:52Speaker 2: any effort, you can get blessed from wherever you are
- 3:56Speaker 2: in your life, wherever your starting point is, wherever you
- 3:59Speaker 2: find yourself wound up. You can get it back from there.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I've done it, man, by the grace of God, I've
- 4:06Speaker 2: done it.
- 4:07Speaker 1: I got over.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Man.
- 4:08Speaker 1: I learned some things along the way. Because here's the deal.
- 4:11Speaker 2: As long as God keeps waking you up in the morning,
- 4:14Speaker 2: he ain't through with you yet.
- 4:15Speaker 1: When he's done, you're done.
- 4:17Speaker 2: But if God still has a plan for you you
- 4:19Speaker 2: wake up in the morning, he still got some more
- 4:21Speaker 2: work for you to do. You wake up in the morning.
- 4:24Speaker 2: So if you keep waking up, man, it's something that
- 4:26Speaker 2: God wants from you, would love to have from you,
- 4:30Speaker 2: and he can work with you, man, if you just
- 4:32Speaker 2: walk towards him a little bit.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Here's the deal.
- 4:35Speaker 2: I know it's hard for the average person to start
- 4:39Speaker 2: because the fear of the unknown is incredible.
- 4:42Speaker 1: What if I fail? What if I don't get picked?
- 4:45Speaker 2: You know, one of the hardest things I ever did
- 4:47Speaker 2: was walking in to quit my job. Oh man, let
- 4:50Speaker 2: me tell you about that day when I decided that
- 4:53Speaker 2: I was gonna be a full time comedian after winning
- 4:56Speaker 2: an amateur night one time. Quitting your job, following your dream,
- 5:03Speaker 2: going for it despite all the nay says, it's like
- 5:06Speaker 2: stepping off a cliff.
- 5:08Speaker 1: It's like actually just walking off.
- 5:10Speaker 2: The edge of a cliff, hoping, hoping now not really knowing,
- 5:17Speaker 2: but hoping. Hoping is the bad basis of faith. I
- 5:24Speaker 2: stepped off that cliff hoping that my parachute would open
- 5:30Speaker 2: and allow me to drift down.
- 5:33Speaker 1: See.
- 5:33Speaker 2: I've never scott dived before, but I would imagine part
- 5:36Speaker 2: of the thrill. And I don't know this because I'm
- 5:38Speaker 2: not going to scot dive to find out. I think
- 5:42Speaker 2: part of the thrill for people is the danger part
- 5:46Speaker 2: of throwing yourself out a plane and how it feels
- 5:49Speaker 2: to be free falling, but the whole time they're free falling,
- 5:53Speaker 2: having this exhilarating over the top moment.
- 5:57Speaker 1: You have got to.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Believe in your heart of heart cards. You have got
- 6:01Speaker 2: the hope with everything in you that when you pull
- 6:03Speaker 2: this cord the shoot opens or else. This ain't a
- 6:07Speaker 2: good move at all. But you've packed your shoot yourself,
- 6:11Speaker 2: You've taken the lessons, so you go ahead and you
- 6:14Speaker 2: make the leap. Now, the only thing about quitting your
- 6:16Speaker 2: job and following your dream is you ain't really been
- 6:19Speaker 2: trained all that good for this. You done packed your
- 6:22Speaker 2: shoote but you ain't never opened it before. So I
- 6:25Speaker 2: walked off this cliff. That's what it was like. And
- 6:28Speaker 2: you following your dreamers like you walking off a cliff.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Here's the part where people don't never make the jump.
- 6:34Speaker 2: They see somebody like myself who jumped off the cliff
- 6:38Speaker 2: and the past chute don't open right away, and I
- 6:41Speaker 2: hit a couple of rocks on the way down.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I got my back cut up pretty bad.
- 6:46Speaker 2: They see that three years living in a car, man
- 6:49Speaker 2: he got it life toe down jumping off that cliff.
- 6:52Speaker 2: I ain't jumping off that cliff. But see what you
- 6:54Speaker 2: don't understand is you don't know it. But eventually the
- 6:59Speaker 2: shoot all open and I'm at the parachute opening part
- 7:03Speaker 2: of my life. Man were to shoot then open, and
- 7:06Speaker 2: I'm drifting and I'm able to guide my chute over.
- 7:10Speaker 1: To Paris and glide.
- 7:11Speaker 2: I've glided over the Africa and seen what it looked like.
- 7:14Speaker 1: It's a slow ride down.
- 7:16Speaker 2: When the pass chute finally opened or and my back
- 7:19Speaker 2: didn't heal too and the cuts.
- 7:21Speaker 1: That I had on me, I remember now I know
- 7:23Speaker 1: how to stay away from the edge.
- 7:25Speaker 2: But the Paris chute then opened, and I'm enjoying my
- 7:28Speaker 2: life for the first time I'm gliding, but I got
- 7:32Speaker 2: hit up against the rock. I can see more. I
- 7:34Speaker 2: get a chance to see more things. I get to
- 7:37Speaker 2: glide and see more parts of the world. I'm living
- 7:40Speaker 2: my dream. Your parachute is gonna open, but I'll tell
- 7:43Speaker 2: you one thing for shore, It'll never open if you
- 7:46Speaker 2: don't step off that cliff. You got to step off
- 7:48Speaker 2: that cliff. God get the passchute open for you. But
- 7:51Speaker 2: you got to jump, baby. That's the hard part, ain't
- 7:54Speaker 2: it now? Question is the end of this story right
- 7:56Speaker 2: here today? When you jumping.
- 7:58Speaker 1: You're listening each of the Steve Harvey Morning Show
