- 0:00This is we said it's a safer of Heinenowski.
- 0:02It's it's called the audio share.
- 0:05And what it is that he goes, he wrote in the beginning of the
- 0:09book that they always come, people come to me, they ask me
- 0:12questions. There's advice.
- 0:14He says, I'm not saying I'm worthy, but they ask advice.
- 0:17So I decided to put together the book, a list of ideas and he
- 0:21goes by the olive bed to the olive bed for life, for a person
- 0:24to become a great person. It's very interesting book and
- 0:27it's very interesting how he's able to take out of each letter
- 0:30something very powerful. So by the letter alignment, and
- 0:33we started this last week, the letter alignment.
- 0:35His comment is his issue is let's anut what's let's anut
- 0:41mockery, the power of being a let's making fun of things,
- 0:47being a cynic, sometimes being a critic and ridiculing things and
- 0:52how effective and how much a person has to avoid it.
- 0:54So we discussed last week just a little bit about the fact that
- 0:58what does mockery do? We've heard the line before.
- 1:01That's an ahat one line of mockery can take down 100
- 1:05lessons. Let me give it a clear, very
- 1:07simple example. Imagine you have a rabbi whom
- 1:10you've shaped your life based on his lessons.
- 1:13OK, his ideas, his lessons have helped shape your life.
- 1:16And then one day someone shows up and says that rabbi, you
- 1:19kidding? He's AI rabbi.
- 1:22You know what he does? You know who he prepares from?
- 1:24He goes online, he does a little research, and he comes up with
- 1:27his classes. Yeah, he's very gifted Order.
- 1:29Come on. You trusting him, right.
- 1:32Or someone says that I went to school with him.
- 1:35You kidding? He was at the bottom of the
- 1:37class. He is the guy giving you
- 1:39lessons. And you know, it's possible, by
- 1:41the way, right? And it's possible there could be
- 1:44some truth to that comment, too. Forget the way you do with the
- 1:47truth in a second. But what's the effect of that?
- 1:50Come what effect does that comment have about a rabbi, even
- 1:54someone's parent, even by the way, anyone who has any level of
- 1:58influence on you, the effect of mockery is automatically it's
- 2:04pop. Pop a hole in the balloon and
- 2:06you take down the entire constant inspiration.
- 2:09Inspiration is built on, Just so you know, inspiration, in my
- 2:13humble opinion, is built on some degree of exaggeration.
- 2:17What do I mean by exaggeration? I mean like this.
- 2:19He listened to his speech. You get influenced by a person
- 2:23and you're very impressed by them.
- 2:25Do those people have bad moments in their lives?
- 2:28Of course they do. If you were to witness their bad
- 2:31moments, would you be as inspired as you are right now?
- 2:34You would not. Which means your inspiration.
- 2:37We Deep Dig Deep, is built on the better version of that
- 2:41person. It's built on the perception of
- 2:44them giving you carefully worded words and giving you a good
- 2:48image and giving you inspiration.
- 2:50So now it's very easy to find a hole in that inspiration, very
- 2:54easy. And when you do, you take down
- 2:58the entire rise of that person's influence.
- 3:01You take down the effects of that influence in a very serious
- 3:05way. At this point, clear, we've all
- 3:07seen this. Someone came to and said so.
- 3:09And so you listen to him, you hear from him, let you know his
- 3:12story. That right, we've all seen this.
- 3:14Now, problem is like this, couple of things.
- 3:17What do you do with the fact that we have to be real?
- 3:20We're very anti gullibility, very not happy about people.
- 3:23Just, you know, taking something hook, line and sinker and being
- 3:26just sheep. You got to be careful with that.
- 3:29So you got to be real. It's true.
- 3:31It'd be real. You have to make sure the thing
- 3:32you're dealing with is not a sketch.
- 3:34That's it. As long as you make sure the
- 3:35thing you're dealing with is not a sketch, you don't need to be
- 3:38an overly serious critic on everything.
- 3:42They try to be overly realistic. Why?
- 3:44Because you're not going to allow.
- 3:45I know many people who are very much critics and cynical, and
- 3:51they're always in effect, right. But The funny thing about these
- 3:54people is they never change. They don't move an an inch in
- 3:59their life. Why?
- 4:01Because if you're overly critical, you do not allow
- 4:04yourself to hear anything, and you make it that other people
- 4:07can't hear anything either. That's the effects of critics.
- 4:10He said. If a guy makes a line during a
- 4:11speech, a joke, and the crowd, he ruins the whole thing.
- 4:15That's the same idea. OK, fine.
- 4:16This is very clear. It's very simple.
- 4:18It's very clear. Has to go a little further on
- 4:20this concept. All right.
- 4:22So he says this is the work. This is our works.
- 4:26He says that the beauty, the power of this concept is this.
- 4:32If someone is that kind of critic and a cynical person,
- 4:36they think that being the smartest guy in the room, right?
- 4:39The power of a cynic is that he makes himself seem like he's the
- 4:43smartest guy in the room because he has the comments.
- 4:45What does a comment mean? A comment is basically, I'm
- 4:49above that statement. The idea of a of a cynic.
- 4:52I'll give you an example. It's not a negative example.
- 4:54It's example I was thought of in the Torah, we have one of the
- 4:58main Peter Sheem on homage Rashi and then on top of him is that
- 5:02Amban? Because then I'm ban came later,
- 5:05right? So the way it always seems in
- 5:09every argument is Rashi says something and then Amban argues.
- 5:13That's how it seems, which basically makes it seem like
- 5:16that Amban is on top of our she because he came second and Rashi
- 5:21never was given a chance to respond.
- 5:23And I've always had this opinion about that, that, that, that
- 5:26correlation. That's not so fair.
- 5:28It's always been my opinion. It's not so fair because when
- 5:30she came first, then a Bond came after him, then a Bond's
- 5:34commenting upon Rashi. And when she got never got a
- 5:37chance to defend themselves, right?
- 5:39And that's pretty much how it's that's in a positive way.
- 5:42But that's pretty much how a critic looks.
- 5:44The critic, you know, the movie critics, right?
- 5:47They watch a movie, they give you the critics.
- 5:48In the old days, those guys were a big deal.
- 5:50Those two guys with their names were exactly those two guys,
- 5:54right? And they were a big deal and you
- 5:56waited for the critics and you want to see what they have to
- 5:58say. But again, it's not so fair
- 6:01because they're coming after the fact, that common thing after
- 6:03the movies movie said and done. And they're really, the movie
- 6:06itself doesn't get a chance to respond, doesn't get a chance to
- 6:08explain where it was coming from, what was behind the
- 6:11scenes. Maybe it was difficult to make
- 6:13that image. Maybe we had a reason for that
- 6:15planning. Fine, That's what critics are.
- 6:17Critics are, in effect, the smartest guys in the room
- 6:21because they're the last word. And they go to neighbor to they
- 6:24use pistol Kim that. Wow.
- 6:26Exactly. A guy carries that common thing
- 6:28about a lesson and he says, but you know, don't you know, David
- 6:32heads Kimala Tara, one of the most misunderstood lines in
- 6:34history? Or they say some other line that
- 6:37they could drop on you. Sure, fine.
- 6:39You're right. What's the reality about the
- 6:41critics? The reality, the rabbi says, is,
- 6:44is that a critic is the smartest guy in the room originally.
- 6:48Over time, he becomes literally the laughingstock of the room.
- 6:54He says stop and watch critics. I'll tell you why I still watch
- 6:58critics on sports radio, sports talk radio.
- 7:01They still have these guys that criticize them.
- 7:03These guys, their names are and two papers, huh?
- 7:08No, no, the guys who criticize them in in in Daily News, in the
- 7:12post, one guy's name is I forgot the names and how these guys are
- 7:18as critical as it gets. And they go at it.
- 7:20They make it seem like nobody listens.
- 7:22They make it seem like these radio guys are the worst.
- 7:25The funny thing is they're much less famous, right?
- 7:28And then they have their favorites as this way you find
- 7:30these guys as as, as being a sketch.
- 7:33They have their favorites. They have their talk show guys
- 7:35they like. And these guys, they're pro the
- 7:38other guys they're anti. And you find you find the sketch
- 7:41in these people. He says, he says the way it
- 7:44works is is that a critical person sounds like the smartest
- 7:48guy in the room. He's got the last word.
- 7:51He has the comment, he shapes the scene, yet in reality he
- 7:56ends up being the laughingstock. As he says Hashem punishes a
- 7:59person like that. Mida kanagan mida and mida
- 8:03kanagan mida a little means measure for measure, which means
- 8:05that this individual who went out and made fun of a friend,
- 8:10made fun of a lesson, made fun of inspiration.
- 8:13He tried to make fun of somebody else.
- 8:15And therefore what God does to him is God allows that he is
- 8:19made fun of. And if you think about the
- 8:21person who's always made that joke in class, who always made
- 8:25fun of people and always was a cynical person about people,
- 8:29that individual that you think you know, you think through
- 8:31history, you think through your life.
- 8:33That guy, is he upstanding guy or is he a little bit like a
- 8:36little bit of a joker? And in the sense he doesn't
- 8:39really have his own legs to stand on because me doc and
- 8:41making me dash, that makes it that that person comes a
- 8:44laughingstock. That's how it works.
- 8:46So it's not really recommended to be a person who's cynical,
- 8:50who's critical, who's always got that last word to find the
- 8:54floor. Can you find the floor and
- 8:56anything? Of course you can find a floor
- 8:57and anything. You can find the floor and
- 8:59anything. Anyone does, anything someone
- 9:01does publicly. You ask me two minutes, I'll
- 9:04give you a clear floor. I'll give you a very noticeable
- 9:07floor. And they did so and so, didn't
- 9:10prepare so and so made a mistake in his Hebrew.
- 9:13So and so doesn't really know what he's talking about.
- 9:15And that lesson, you can find flaws in anything, but here's
- 9:18the reason why. So I'll tell you the truth.
- 9:20I personally am a very cynical person or a very cynical person,
- 9:24a critical person. I don't make fun of people per
- 9:26SE, but I have a comment to say in my mind.
- 9:29But anything I see, anything I see ever come, the reason over
- 9:33time you drop it and you change your ways is for the following
- 9:38reasons. Why are we cynical?
- 9:41The cynical originally, I'm personally cynical because I'm
- 9:43careful, which means I'm afraid of being, you know, being sold
- 9:47at Brooklyn Bridge. I'm afraid of some being a
- 9:50sketch. I don't really like when people
- 9:51are overly inspired by things that are not really so
- 9:54inspiring. That's my overall open.
- 9:56But here's an interesting thing. God did this, which means I sham
- 10:01put people in place as means of inspiration.
- 10:06A very wild thing is a phenomenon that's going on among
- 10:09our people. The phenomenon is this.
- 10:12Do we have ghidolim today like we had 50 years ago?
- 10:16No, we don't. We do not have ghidolim today
- 10:19like we had 50 years ago. Do we have people, communities
- 10:23who are growing more than we had 50 years ago?
- 10:27Absolutely, yes. How does that work out?
- 10:29The rabbis, at the rabbis, basic rabbis, the ghidolim are not on
- 10:34the same level as they were 50 years ago.
- 10:36They never every 50 years, they keep changing, right?
- 10:38And they're always going down to a degree.
- 10:40You don't have a Kamala anymore. You don't even have a clear one
- 10:43individual inside the world who's the source of Allah.
- 10:46You don't have one. You don't have a Haikenewski
- 10:49anymore. You're not one clear individual
- 10:51who's the clear source of Allah. You don't have one right?
- 10:54You don't have in, in the Shiva world used to be 1 Roshi Shiva.
- 10:58That was a Shiva or Roshi Shiva trap shock.
- 11:01You don't have any more. You don't have any of these
- 11:03individuals. You have Gudurim, but you don't
- 11:05have that. How does that work out if you
- 11:08believe are not in the same position as they once were?
- 11:11So don't you think the people would be less in a certain
- 11:14sense? It's true that people are
- 11:15missing a leader. We definitely have a void of
- 11:17that sense of leader. It's real, absolutely real.
- 11:20We don't have a chief row, but in the community in that sense,
- 11:22as they did a long time ago, there are voids.
- 11:25That's clear. But at the same time the people
- 11:27arise. Why the people are better than
- 11:29they were before, because the people, community at large is,
- 11:33are buying in to the words of the inspiring individuals or the
- 11:37words of the rabbis. So one second, the rabbis are
- 11:40not in the same level as they used to be.
- 11:41Any rabbi would admit that, and yet the level of inspiration is
- 11:45higher. How does that work out?
- 11:47The answer is very clear, and that is that our people have a
- 11:52sense of listening. We are interested in what the
- 11:54rabbis have to say. As much as you think that we
- 11:57make comments about our rabbis in the world, you'll never find
- 12:01people who have more respect of rabbis in this community.
- 12:04The respect that they have rabbis in this community is
- 12:07literally the best there is. There's no one out there nor the
- 12:11community in the world that has a general basic level respect
- 12:15for rabbis. Even though we comment and even
- 12:17though we have this to say and that to say, and we say this to
- 12:19another schools, in the schools, all that stuff to respect the
- 12:22rabbi is number 1. And even though you have
- 12:25something to say about that rabbi, driving that car was so
- 12:28and so he said this so and so. He's doing that, but at the end
- 12:31of the day, if you are overly critical and you make fun of and
- 12:35you're ridicul, then inspiration won't be there.
- 12:38But if you allow them to do their thing and realize where
- 12:40they are, that is the key point. Every level of inspiration that
- 12:44comes your way, God sent that inspiration.
- 12:47God is using that individual as a salihah of Hashem.
- 12:50They're not really the rabbis. It's Hashem shaliyah.
- 12:53Hashem wants you to change, so he gave you a message to so and
- 12:57so. I know someone who has a rabbi
- 12:59that really you and I, I told this last week, I don't hold of,
- 13:03OK? I don't hold of this man.
- 13:05Yeah. At the same time, this person's
- 13:07life changed from that rabbi. So now you got to be careful
- 13:10because I might make some very serious mistakes and it's
- 13:12dangerous. But at the same time, it's not
- 13:14the rabbi, It's Hashem shaliyah and everything.
- 13:17All the inspiration in your life is God Shalia.
- 13:19God make you be excited about the fact that business worked
- 13:22out. That's Hashem shaliyah.
- 13:23God make you be thrilled about things going right with your
- 13:26children. Hashem gonna send this message.
- 13:28All these different things are Hashem messages, including the
- 13:31speeches that you hear and the lessons that you learn.
- 13:34So if you want to be a lit when he's someone who makes fun of
- 13:37things by saying to yourself, I don't want people to be
- 13:41gullible. It's very dangerous and people
- 13:43are gullible. Like I said before, I think I
- 13:46said this last week, if someone wants to make a very serious
- 13:48dedication and you were looking at them and saying that guy's
- 13:52going to give to that institution and it's a a shell
- 13:54institution and doesn't really deserve that money, maybe you
- 13:57should call him up and stop him. I could see that.
- 14:00But if someone wants to just be inspired and say over by the
- 14:02Shabbat table, do you know what that rabbi said?
- 14:05Do you know what I heard? You know this devout Torah, You
- 14:08know this lesson, someone quotes you some website online and they
- 14:13heard a nice about, right? And you want to comment because
- 14:16you want to say, well, you get it from that website.
- 14:18You know what the website is. You got to be careful.
- 14:21Again, if it's dangerous stuff, I understand.
- 14:23But if they're excited, they're inspired, they're growing.
- 14:26What what's, what's, what's the big heart to harm?
- 14:28This is the delicate balance we have to play because reality is
- 14:32we all want to be somewhat critical.
- 14:34We all are inclined to be cynical.
- 14:36We're definitely not interested in people becoming balloons and
- 14:39becoming a big deal when they don't deserve it.
- 14:41We're not interested in that. And you could ask me if you
- 14:43could give me some truth syrup, OK, if you could give you give
- 14:46me some truth syrup and ask me the truth about a lot of things
- 14:49that are going on. I'll be honest with you, a lot
- 14:52of things that you see and I see are really way more a sketch and
- 14:56bloated than they seem as the truth.
- 14:59So if that's the case, how could I ever be inspired?
- 15:01How could I ever grow? How could I ever listen to
- 15:04lessons? The answer is realize this.
- 15:05It's all Hashem sending those lessons through those people.
- 15:09If you think of the people who inspired you throughout your
- 15:11life with all the greatest people in the world, I don't
- 15:13think so. I don't think the people who
- 15:15inspired me throughout my life, all the best people on earth.
- 15:18But Hashem sent different things at different times to make me
- 15:21grow. And if I'm going to be a cynical
- 15:22person and I'm going to comment about all those different things
- 15:26that I never would have got past a certain step just yesterday,
- 15:30how's time? I make a call like 2 years ago
- 15:31Sunday comment about a great rosheshi or shisha and they said
- 15:35I don't know, always tell me ha ham or not.
- 15:38This guy has had his individual has had more effect in the
- 15:42Jewish world than most people. And the person actually said no,
- 15:46I'm not sure you know what that statement is.
- 15:50Now you're not sure if the guy's a learning person, but he's had
- 15:53more effect. And if that's thing when we made
- 15:55public, then you know what his influence would be weaker.
- 15:59And this is how the world works. And the person has to realize
- 16:02you want to ridicule, you want to make fun of, you want to keep
- 16:05people normal, you want to keep people right stinging.
- 16:09Clearly, I hear you. I'm with you.
- 16:11But this is the payoff. The payoff is there's no growth,
- 16:15there's no impact, there's no inspiration, there's no
- 16:18development. And all you have instead,
- 16:21because everyone being Uber cynical, in certain parts of the
- 16:25world, certain parts of Jewish community, you are a certain
- 16:26people who are fully religious, fully observant, and yet they
- 16:32don't learn a word. OK, fully observant, they don't
- 16:36learn to that word. This is a phenomenon out there.
- 16:39And I know these people, some of them are my friends.
- 16:41They're my friends. Why don't they learn to it?
- 16:43Are you ready for this? Here's what they don't learn.
- 16:46They don't learn because they went to yeshiva and they had to
- 16:49Oshea yeshiva, big rabbis. Then they went to work.
- 16:53I think we weren't going to work.
- 16:54They went to work to make a living.
- 16:56Now they don't have a shivas anymore.
- 16:58They have rabbis of a Shu. And in their world, they grew up
- 17:02in a world where rabbis of a Shu and their specific world was not
- 17:06a thing. In certain parts of the world,
- 17:09Shu rabbis are not a thing. Roshi Shivas only are a thing.
- 17:12OK, I've heard it as I can. No, but I could you imagine this
- 17:16concept. A guy grows up all day long.
- 17:18Roshi Shiva or Shiva Shiva, A rabbi of a Shu is not a thing.
- 17:22Shu is where you go pray and you leave.
- 17:23Where do you get your lessons from?
- 17:25Who is Shiva doesn't have a Shiva anymore.
- 17:27Now he has a Shuli praising but he doesn't respect there of it.
- 17:31So now he has nothing. I have many, many friends that
- 17:33are in this camp and they do not learn a word Mamet.
- 17:37They've learned very little. Why?
- 17:39Because they don't have any sources anymore.
- 17:42But if we're growing up, someone told them, their father told
- 17:45them, someone told them, listen, you go to shul, the rabbi gives
- 17:48a class. You go to yeshiva, the other
- 17:50rabbi gives a class. It's all good.
- 17:51It's all such an inspiration. Then they would have had that
- 17:54means draft the new means available.
- 17:57This is how the right way. If you want to make fun of
- 17:58things and you want to keep things at Bay and ridicule.
- 18:02This is the payoff person not very inspired.
- 18:05I'm telling you this because I'm talking to myself.
- 18:08I am a person who would naturally, I don't hold of
- 18:11things. You give me something new, I
- 18:13tell you, get rid of it. You give me a new name, I tell
- 18:16you, where'd he come from? Amen.
- 18:17Where'd he come from? What's his background?
- 18:19I want to know his background. I'm not a fan of things that are
- 18:22brand new or people getting super inspired by movements.
- 18:25It's not my type, but at the end of the day, Hashem sent these
- 18:30people. Think of the movements that we
- 18:32have in the Jewish world today. No names.
- 18:35There are individuals who are not even rabbis, not even
- 18:38rabbis, and they are having effects that are bigger than
- 18:43some of the biggest rabbis, you know.
- 18:45OK, I'm not telling you names because I don't want to asparage
- 18:48them at all. Do you know what I'm talking
- 18:49about? Yes.
- 18:50OK. These individuals they give you
- 18:52don't know I'm talking about there.
- 18:53OK, I could say I'm not saying I don't want to say his name
- 18:57exactly. Huh.
- 18:59In what way am I talking exactly?
- 19:01He does the dolphin one in one. In one example, there are two
- 19:04people. Two biggest Dolph teachers are
- 19:08not rabbis, two biggest teachers of Dafiomi.
- 19:11Well, Yumi's are regular people who work one guy's in real
- 19:14estate. Hey, very small guy and other
- 19:17guys in some I don't know why the business he does not robust
- 19:21and they have a major, major impact on Dafiomi, right?
- 19:24That's the world today. Regular guy has ability to this.
- 19:27What happens is these guys are good talkers.
- 19:29These guys are very gift out there in a second about the Sema
- 19:31Shasti. He's a very gift and this is
- 19:33delicate balance we got to in a second.
- 19:34So what do you think about this? Right?
- 19:37These guys, they're giving classes to 20,000 people a day,
- 19:4120,000 people a day, maybe more, maybe 30.
- 19:43I know what the number is. Forget it.
- 19:45If you learned down from me and you know it, well, good chance
- 19:48you're listening to one of these two teachers.
- 19:49One guy is fast and smooth, another guy is also fast and
- 19:53deep. And they're both very gifted,
- 19:56extremely gifted guys. They're unbelievably talented in
- 19:59what they do. So now the question is if you
- 20:02came to me about these people, you came to me two years ago or
- 20:05a few years ago before learning this concept?
- 20:07I would have said, I'm for sure. I would not have made a big deal
- 20:12positively about it. I probably would have said, I
- 20:15don't know if you should listen. I don't know.
- 20:17That's a working guy. I don't know where he's coming
- 20:19from. He's not a rabbi.
- 20:21He's teaching to it. Huh.
- 20:22It's a little funny, right? The fact is these guys are
- 20:26changing the Jewish world. And then there's a person in our
- 20:29community who is a businessman who teaches everyone not and
- 20:32he's a very big influence in our community somewhat.
- 20:35And Ashkan's world is humongous, humongous.
- 20:38Most of my friends who are working guys, they say, you know
- 20:40what I listen to And Muna, I get it from him.
- 20:42What do you do about that? So now if you're a critical
- 20:47person, goodbye, Charles, forget about it.
- 20:49Not a rabbi, not the probably not the fully Shiva education.
- 20:53I'll see you later. If you're a a very gullible
- 20:56person, hook, line and sinker, there are Shiva's now.
- 21:00They're rabbis now, give them some make, give them a shoe.
- 21:03They're rabbis now. That's also too much.
- 21:05The proper approach is the following approach.
- 21:09These people are shali of Hashem.
- 21:12God put them in their position because God wanted a certain
- 21:15outcome. Don't overdo it in the buy in of
- 21:18them as individuals. Don't underdo it in the knocking
- 21:22of them with their words. The proper approach is a
- 21:24balance, understanding that the shali of Hashem.
- 21:27They're dedicating their life to these missions, they're doing a
- 21:30good job, and we're going to keep the situation as is.
- 21:33Get influence, grow, recognize where it's coming from.
- 21:37But don't just pop every balloon and destroy every source and
- 21:41inspiration because otherwise you get nothing at this point.
- 21:44Clear, yes. Question, would you say your
- 21:50community's the best like you just said?
- 21:52Is that being? Yeah.
- 21:53Are you being critical of the other communities?
- 21:55Fair question. Yeah.
- 21:56Somebody. Yeah, Maybe I shouldn't be.
- 21:58Yeah, OK. Yes.
- 22:04Where people are Litz, right? Yeah.
- 22:06Do you think that the root of it, sometimes people don't like
- 22:09to see people surpass them, but so by staying like that and
- 22:13being like that, you're holding everyone else in your.
- 22:15Courts, Absolutely. The main purpose of a person
- 22:19being making fun of other things is your person makes a circle
- 22:22around themself and he wants everything to remain exactly the
- 22:25same. I don't want to see a guy come
- 22:27out of nowhere who's better than me in a certain area, so I'm not
- 22:31interested. That's jealousy.
- 22:32It's all based on jealousy. Most of making fun of is based
- 22:36on insecure. You know these guys and they're
- 22:38uncomfortable in the room. So he makes a silly comment,
- 22:41right. You know that guy and you're
- 22:42like, just just give me a mouth shot.
- 22:44You'd be better off. That is jealousy.
- 22:46That's been security. It's the same thing takes more
- 22:49and more. So he's better than you.
- 22:50And if he does it without reason, same thing.
- 22:53And a person who makes comments on the people when a person who
- 22:55gets religious, that's more observant and the first thing
- 22:58they're doing is they're doing to all those comments.
- 23:00You know, the guy didn't have the right upbringing.
- 23:02You know the guy did not have the right, right influence.
- 23:04But the guy who gets religious and he's, he's, he's tactful
- 23:07enough to realize my cousins are the same cousins, my parents are
- 23:10the same parents. That's only to respect in the
- 23:12same way. And so I have to dance a little
- 23:14bit more. I have to be a little bit more
- 23:16careful in my situation. But I shouldn't become that guy
- 23:18who's uncomfortable to be around.
- 23:20Then the guy has the proper approach.
- 23:22One guy might be Bhagava. One guy might be using his
- 23:25observance as a, as a means of putting other people down.
- 23:28And the other guy is using his observance as a means of lifting
- 23:31his family. You know, when a guy becomes
- 23:33observer, extra observer, extra religious in a family, there's a
- 23:36very big difference. Sometimes they change the whole
- 23:39family, sometimes they just become a nuisance.
- 23:42What's the difference? That if they doing it, they'll
- 23:46be arrogant and say I got this and now I got my black guy.
- 23:49Now I'm learning and see how much I'm learning.
- 23:51You see da, da, da and they do it that way.
- 23:54If something gets nervous, gets turned off and that everything
- 23:57is a headache, every say that every meal, everything is
- 24:00annoying. But if the guy does the right
- 24:02way, same even black guy, same learning, same schedule, same
- 24:07home Rotika shoot, but he does it the right way, he's tactful,
- 24:11he has proper respect. Then that person, he raises
- 24:15whole family somehow because they watch him, they like it and
- 24:19they're good. But the difference is the same
- 24:21exact difference as the as the concept of ridiculing.
- 24:24Are you trying to put other people down to keep yourself in
- 24:27a special spot or are you just trying to do your thing?
- 24:30So all that matters in every area, if you're trying to put
- 24:33other people down then and trying to keep you, therefore
- 24:36keep yourself as a great person. If that's your means of doing
- 24:38so, you can have all negative effects.
- 24:41But if you're trying simply to just be yourself and allow
- 24:45things to be and you're going to raise the entire, you know, has
- 24:48to say a tide, high tide, where's the line again?
- 24:51High tide raises all boats. That person becoming better will
- 24:55actually raise his whole family. He really will.
- 24:57And you've seen it many, many times.
- 24:59A good guy that has hand that's good at these things, he gets a
- 25:02little bit more observant, everyone gets better.
- 25:04A good guy that's a difficult guy that's annoying and he has a
- 25:08little more observant. Everyone gets more turned off.
- 25:10It's all about the same thing. So you have, whether it be less
- 25:13or you're the person who kind of more observant, you have to
- 25:16avoid trying to put other people down.
- 25:19And why are you doing that? Because you want to keep things
- 25:21at Bay. Why are you doing it?
- 25:22Because you want to make sure you remain your solid self.
- 25:27You end up backfiring because a person who makes fun of other
- 25:31people, person who comments persons are ridiculed.
- 25:34He stays in the same corner. It's not like he builds himself
- 25:38up through this at all. And all he does is take other
- 25:40people down. And you wish those people wish
- 25:43for the day that the other people have inspiration.
- 25:46I'm telling you myself personally as a rabbit host,
- 25:48this, as a rabbi, there are certain things I hear people
- 25:51tell me from rabbis and all I want to do is say, come on, he
- 25:55telling me this line from that rabbi, I know where he got it
- 25:57from. I saw the same thing before he
- 25:59saw the same thing. He saw it in the book.
- 26:01He just didn't quote the book. He didn't even develop the idea
- 26:04on his own. He just saw it in the book and
- 26:06didn't quote the source, which is the wrong thing, right?
- 26:08And I know that straight up. I know where he got it from and
- 26:12all I want to do is comment. But what am I doing when I
- 26:15comment? I'm taking away inspiration.
- 26:17I'm taking away influence. Sure.
- 26:19You need to be very careful to avoid bad influences.
- 26:23I'll be very careful with people becoming gullible and buying
- 26:28into things hook, line and sinker that are not health.
- 26:31But usually that's not the issue.
- 26:33Usually they tell you stuff that are some sort of Hassidou.
- 26:37That's not your Hassidou to some sort of ideas.
- 26:40That's dangerous. That's dangerous that you have
- 26:43to avoid as a sensible person who's not coming from a negative
- 26:46place. You have to stop those things
- 26:48for sure. But overall general inspiration.
- 26:51You don't think the community at large has been better off by all
- 26:55these rabbis, All the rabbis that have had inspiration and
- 26:58even though they may not be God, do outdoor and they may not be
- 27:02worthy of the kissing, the hands strick, I understand.
- 27:05But at the end of the day, they had influence.
- 27:08And why does it bother you that they had influence?
- 27:10Let them do their thing. Don't buy in in a gullible,
- 27:13silly, teal way. That's where problems start.
- 27:16Don't go that way, but don't knock them down either, because
- 27:19they are Hashem Shaliak to lift up us, lift us up in all
- 27:24different ways. Sure, as it sends over person.
- 27:27You need the balance. You need the balance, no
- 27:28question about it. And if your kids got hooked into
- 27:31something that's a little weird, stop it, stop it.
- 27:34Shut it down 100%. But more often than not, it's
- 27:38not weird. It's not so crazy.
- 27:40It's a good the red tuda from Hashem and influence from a good
- 27:44place, and you just need to be a sensible adult in the room to
- 27:47stop what's crazy and to continue what's normal.
- 27:49But you don't need to take things down because otherwise,
- 27:52the people who made fun of everything, the people who said
- 27:55it's not our way, the people who said we never did this before,
- 27:58those people are stuck in the mud and they haven't changed
- 28:01enough. And everybody else is moving all
- 28:03along, all beautifully, all developing finally with great
- 28:07sources of Divertora, great sources of influence, influence
- 28:11and not worrying about the fact, not worry about the fact that
- 28:14these people may not be the greatest giggling of in the
- 28:18history. Doesn't make a difference.
- 28:19There are gods, Shalia to make us great.
- 28:23That's the whole good my God.
