Transcript
- 0:01Welcome to Rick and That Michelle Chick, the weekly
- 0:05podcast where your hosts, Rick and Michelle, confidently dive
- 0:10into topics they know absolutely nothing about and somehow make
- 0:15it sound legit. They're not experts.
- 0:17They're not qualified. Honestly, they barely googled
- 0:20it. So grab a drink, lower your
- 0:23expectations, and let's pretend this counts as content.
- 0:28So buckle up. Facts are optional, but the
- 0:31bullshit? That's premium grade.
- 0:34This is Rick and that Michelle chick.
- 0:41So last episode we talked about or we teased what we thought our
- 0:47hell loop would be. So have you thought about what
- 0:50you think your hell loop would be?
- 0:53Is this the song where it never stops?
- 0:56It could be. OK, OK, I'll, I'll tell you what
- 0:59I think mine would be. So it's not to me.
- 1:02When I think about what your hell loop would be, it wouldn't
- 1:05be because sometimes people would think it would be gory or
- 1:08it would be the the demons torturing you, something along
- 1:12those lines. But I think that mine would be
- 1:18that I am stuck with the douchiest Assius, a guy who all
- 1:23he does is talk about himself and try to one up you, you know,
- 1:28like one of those 1 upper tech people.
- 1:31All while he is staring at my boobs.
- 1:35So I have dealt with this type of man my entire career, radio,
- 1:40normal life, and now most recently dinners for my
- 1:45husband's career like fancy dinners that we're stuck at.
- 1:48And we're stuck at these dinners for like 3 to 4 hours with these
- 1:52types of people. Luckily, now I kind of know some
- 1:54of the people that we're going to be at dinner with.
- 1:57And so I try to sit by the people that I know I like to
- 2:00talk to, but sometimes it's unavoidable.
- 2:04So that's what I think my hell loop would be.
- 2:08So what do you think yours would be?
- 2:09Well, I was thinking about it, so here's.
- 2:11OK, this is probably the strangest thing ever.
- 2:14So have you ever OK, fallen asleep in a car?
- 2:19Now you're not driving, but you fall asleep, right?
- 2:21So you're in the passenger seats and then you wake up out of
- 2:25nowhere thinking that you're driving the car like that.
- 2:28You've fallen asleep and are still driving the car even
- 2:31though you're not driving the car.
- 2:32Right, right. That that.
- 2:34Have you ever had that experience where you like Jay's
- 2:36driving, you go to sleep and then you just wake up like, oh
- 2:41shit, I'm driving and you're not driving?
- 2:43No, I wake up thinking we're about to crash.
- 2:46OK. All right.
- 2:47Not that I'm driving, but. That Oh my.
- 2:50God, we're crashing. Or this is something along those
- 2:53lines? Right.
- 2:54For me, that for me, that would be the the weird.
- 2:56That would be the weird. It's a weird thing.
- 2:58It's a weird sensation. It's like, it's almost like that
- 3:02sensation where you forget what time it is.
- 3:06Like you think it's night or morning and you think you, it's
- 3:09a, it's a like it's a Sunday morning and you get up at 7.
- 3:11Oh, I gotta get to work. And then you realize, wait a
- 3:14minute, I don't work today. So those are those are those
- 3:18little for me, those little mind trick things that that happened
- 3:22for me would be probably hell loops for me.
- 3:25And the, and what's the biggest one is the one.
- 3:28Is it the fear? Well #1 the fear of losing my
- 3:30teeth. Have you ever had your?
- 3:33Hair. It's not your hair.
- 3:35No, I don't. If it goes, it goes.
- 3:37But have you ever had that? Have you ever had any of these
- 3:40dreams? Not not so much my teeth because
- 3:45they have implants and veneers now.
- 3:48Not at those prices. Not at, not at those prices.
- 3:51It was funny. I went.
- 3:52I would pay whatever if it meant that I still looked good.
- 3:55OK, like. So I have a great I have a great
- 3:58dentist here in tri-cities, Doctor Spencer.
- 4:01He's he's awesome. Well, he, he got a new associate
- 4:04and so I was getting my teeth cleaned one one day and he's
- 4:08like, you know, with your personality, man, we could
- 4:11really do something with your smile.
- 4:13And so, so and we, no, I mean, I mean, I one thing that growing
- 4:18up poor that I didn't have, did not have access to is good
- 4:22dental care. So, so I was probably one of
- 4:25those kids. I probably even today probably
- 4:27need, need braces. I mean, or I would look
- 4:29different if I, if I had straighter teeth And I, I can, I
- 4:31can acknowledge that. Luckily for Logan, Logan has
- 4:35perfect, absolutely perfect teeth.
- 4:38Like he never needed braces. He just, he just has perfect
- 4:41teeth. And so I'm glad I was able to
- 4:43give him. I, I think it came from his mom,
- 4:45actually, I'd love to say I was able to give him something, but
- 4:47it came from Pokey, I'm sure. So he we started talking about
- 4:51it and we did what they call a test drive where they put fake
- 4:54stuff on your teeth. To to make Yeah.
- 4:58So they can, yeah. So they can fill in the the you
- 5:00know, they can fill in the gaps or whatever.
- 5:02To kind of show you what it would look like.
- 5:04Yeah. And they give you a little test
- 5:05drive and it lasts a day or whatever.
- 5:07And it then because it goes away because the stuff it's like
- 5:10putty or something. And and I was like, oh, this is
- 5:13a this is a cool idea. And then he goes, yeah, he goes,
- 5:15I could get it probably done for $10,000.
- 5:19Now and you're like, no. Now I'm a poor DJ, I'm a poor DJ
- 5:24and so I don't have access to $10,000 even though it, I mean,
- 5:27I, it would have been, it would have been a cool, a cool thing
- 5:30for veneers. So, but yeah, think about that.
- 5:34That's like, whoa, no, no. So, so yes, the dream of teeth
- 5:38falling out. It's a, it's a scary one.
- 5:40It's a scary one for me. So I think that would be a hell
- 5:43loop for me. I don't know why, because I,
- 5:46it's, it's funny poking. I mean, Megan and I talk about
- 5:48this a lot. It's like religiously, I go to
- 5:52the eye doctor and I go to the dentist.
- 5:54So every six months, no matter what.
- 5:56And she's like, but she, she goes, but you haven't been to a
- 5:58doctor in 15 years, but she goes, but you religiously get
- 6:04your eyes checked and you religiously go and get your
- 6:06teeth cleaned and make sure there's no cavities or any of
- 6:09those, those different things. So, and I said, well, believe it
- 6:12or not, our health starts with our teeth.
- 6:15A lot of people. A lot of people.
- 6:18Having bad teeth can lead to issues with your heart and other
- 6:22things, but you you also need to go to the the regular doctor for
- 6:28stuff, especially at your age now.
- 6:31OK so so let me clarify for you. As long as you've known me, just
- 6:38be honest. How many times you recalled me
- 6:40being like physically in pain or me complaining about ever been
- 6:46in pain or having any issues health wise?
- 6:49I don't think ever, I don't think you've ever complained
- 6:52about being in pain, right. So off the top of my head.
- 6:55I'm very fortunate, knock on wood right now that if I have a
- 6:59headache, that's a weird day. Like I just don't have headaches
- 7:02or and my body just doesn't ache.
- 7:05So it's kind of an odd, I mean, now if I go lift a bunch of hay
- 7:09and do a bunch of work, I mean my body, my body will be sore,
- 7:12but but I will not be. I will not be in pain to where
- 7:16like a knee job or elbow job or shoulders or any of that.
- 7:20I've had zero thank again knocking on wood and maybe it's
- 7:23because of my lack of my lack of physical activity.
- 7:26Right that. Could.
- 7:29Be that could be I mean, but you are a guy so you do you.
- 7:33You do need to have like some blood work done.
- 7:36We had it. It was funny.
- 7:37We had it about 15 years ago, 15 years ago because that at the
- 7:41time I was drinking a lot of Mountain Dew.
- 7:44Megan goes, you need to go, you need to go to the doctor.
- 7:46She goes, I think you're pre diabetic.
- 7:47I went what, what are you talking about?
- 7:50So we did. I did go to the doctor and he
- 7:53ran 15 years ago. What's that 15?
- 7:56Years ago, 15 years. Ago, yeah, 15 years ago and so
- 7:59he said outside of a little high blood pressure at the time
- 8:01because of radio was so stressful.
- 8:04He goes you're perfectly 100% like healthy.
- 8:07There's like a you couldn't find anything wrong with me.
- 8:09So, and that's when I switched, I switched now job.
- 8:13I mean, I still am with town, town, you know, I'm still in
- 8:15radio, but I switched by what I was doing.
- 8:18And so now even I don't know if I'm, I mean, I can be stressed,
- 8:21but I don't think it's nowhere near what it was years ago.
- 8:24Right. So I do want to get that cola
- 8:26guard not to go that, you know, I, my buddy, so my buddy Randy
- 8:30in Boise was telling me about cola guard and he was like, he's
- 8:32like, he goes. Well, you know, Virgil, it's a
- 8:34lot harder to hit the, the, the target than what you think.
- 8:39Because I'm, because I'm like, oh, just give me the color
- 8:41guard. You know, let me get, let me
- 8:42just do the color guard. Let me, you know, poop in a cup.
- 8:45I'll be good. And my buddy Randy told me that
- 8:47it's a lot harder. You know what you think I did?
- 8:51Not I talked to my doctor about the Cologuard, you know, because
- 8:54where we are in Yakima, we lost our clinic that did all the
- 8:58colonoscopies during COVID. And so there's only one or two
- 9:02doctors here that are doing it. And so it's really hard to get
- 9:06in to see them. And I talked to my doctor, I
- 9:08said, OK, like what do you think?
- 9:10Should I just do this Cologuard thing?
- 9:13And she said, well, you know, it's not 100% accurate.
- 9:17She said you can do it. But she said she would advise me
- 9:20to get a colonoscopy, which I got one this year.
- 9:24Wow, I beat you. You did.
- 9:28And it's not great like the I think the prep work which
- 9:31everybody warns you about that and.
- 9:33Yeah, that's gross. That is the worst part of it.
- 9:36But like they give you the nine night juice, they give you a
- 9:40sedative so you don't remember anything.
- 9:42And I love the night. Like just give me give me the
- 9:44nine night juice and I'll be fine.
- 9:46I don't care. Like so yeah.
- 9:48And I mean, they found a few polyps, but and I have to go
- 9:51back in like 5 to 7 years and that's.
- 9:54Not good. That's good.
- 9:56I I just recall looking over at my dad and going nothing went up
- 9:59his ass before. I mean, also, like people died
- 10:03of a lot of cancers. Well, my dad died of cancer, but
- 10:07it was because he smoked 33 to 4 packs a day and and drank like a
- 10:11fish. I can't, and same with my mom.
- 10:14So a lot of people are like a lot of people are like, oh,
- 10:16well, you're, you know, you have a history.
- 10:17No, they yes, nonstop. And then I said my great
- 10:21grandfather Virgil, who I'm named after, passed away at 95.
- 10:26Tell him all faculties, all everything, None of that.
- 10:30So he did none of that. So you.
- 10:33Still need to go to the doctor. Of course.
- 10:35Oh, I'm advocating. I'm telling people go, go do it.
- 10:38I'm just trying to, you know, I'm, I'm.
- 10:39It's not for you. I'm just going to get there
- 10:42somehow. So if you're talking.
- 10:44Five more years. Maybe hell loop is my good.
- 10:46No, I don't, you know. Having to go to the doctor.
- 10:50I think the teeth. I think the teeth fallen out or
- 10:52that sudden being shook awake thinking that you're driving a
- 10:55car or you're going off a Cliff or something like that.
- 10:58Yeah, that is the weirdest, creepiest feeling.
- 11:00So. I think my husband's we were
- 11:03because I was asking him what do you think my hall loop would be?
- 11:05And he just kind of looked to me like it was crazy, but which is
- 11:08normal. But I think his would be that he
- 11:12is stuck in a room and no matter what he does, he can't get the
- 11:17pictures on the wall straight. So OK, so so we changed dentist
- 11:22and this is his first appointment at our brand new
- 11:25dentist, mind you. And they have all this artwork
- 11:28in their reception area that's by a local artist and it's for
- 11:31sale. And so my husband is sitting
- 11:33there and he cannot handle that some of these pictures are
- 11:36crooked. And he got up and started fixing
- 11:39the pictures at his very first appointment at our brand new
- 11:43dentist and like, Oh my God, they're, they're going to tell
- 11:46us not to come, please don't come back.
- 11:48Then we had to plant new trees outside of our front lawn
- 11:52because our original ones that we planted like 27 years ago
- 11:56needed to be ripped out. And so we bought new ones and he
- 12:00proceeded to measure across the street where our neighbors had
- 12:05Arbor vitas planted all in a row.
- 12:07So he took the little laser measure pointer thing and
- 12:10pointed it and, and the street isn't close, mind you, and
- 12:13neither are the Arbor vitas so that our trees would line up
- 12:17with the Arbor vitas. Then he then he measured from
- 12:21the road from like the middle line in to our yard.
- 12:25So that's which I, which I don't mind, has perfection at all
- 12:29because. I love.
- 12:30Well, it gave you perfection, which gave you genius children.
- 12:33So obviously, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Michelle.
- 12:36I'm gonna say the smarts came from Jay.
- 12:39I have already. I've said that multiple times
- 12:43like it is not me I mean. The analytical mind, yeah, yeah,
- 12:47because we're from well, well, and most and most radio people
- 12:50are from the creative side anyway.
- 12:51Yes, yeah, yeah. I mean, my blonde hair shows a
- 12:56lot of times, so yeah, yeah. I am not though.
- 12:59I'm not the smart. That's.
- 13:00Funny which we've talked about how he can't sit and watch a
- 13:03show without trying to figure it out.
- 13:04And I just want to Oh yeah, that's the best.
- 13:06Watch Mindless TV. I love that, you know, I always
- 13:09love those because I'm like, that person did it.
- 13:11Megan's like, you're ruining it. And I'm like, no, that person
- 13:13like, like that's foreshadowing. That's and that's even being
- 13:16just a writer, you know, like, oh, there's the there's the
- 13:19hint. There's the hint that this
- 13:20person's gonna be in on a on a rare occasion, I'll go, oh, I
- 13:23didn't see that one coming. But most of the time it's like,
- 13:25Oh, this is the they've they've dropped the tail.
- 13:28So but that's good to know about jail Jay being in that his hell
- 13:31loop. So that rock'n'roll sign behind
- 13:33me that I'm pointing at, that's kind of crooked that.
- 13:35Would drive him crazy. Well.
- 13:36It's Rock'n'roll. Well, he wouldn't care.
- 13:39Yeah, that's what I mean. That's why.
- 13:40That's why it's that's why it's Kitty cornered like that.
- 13:43It's rock and. Roll.
- 13:43I mean, it looks good, Yeah. Plus you have like the little
- 13:45bump out on your ceiling, so I mean, it makes sense.
- 13:49Makes kind of makes kind of cool.
- 13:51So yeah. All right.
- 13:52Well, hella loops. That's pretty fascinating, and
- 13:55we learned a lot more about colonoscopies than we ever
- 13:57thought. We did.
- 13:58Yeah. You're you're welcome.
- 14:00This is not medical advice or. Medical advice, No, listen to
- 14:05anything. No, not at all.
- 14:07Not at all. And I know I'm going to get a
- 14:09lot of crap because I am. I'm probably long overdue for
- 14:12for that. And I just have to, I just have
- 14:14to go ahead head first into it. At least just go get some blood
- 14:18work, shoot. That well, that too.
- 14:20That too. That that too.
- 14:23I well, I kicked the soda habit, so maybe I should go get some
- 14:25blood work just to Yeah, yeah. See how good it is.
- 14:28See. See what happens, Right.
- 14:29Yep. So Yep, well, Jimmy Kimmel is
- 14:33back on TV. I saw that.
- 14:35So I had heard that Disney was raising their Disney Plus prices
- 14:40and that was kind of why they rushed for this to happen
- 14:46because they really needed the bleeding to stop from everybody
- 14:48canceling their Disney Plus subscriptions.
- 14:51And they knew because you know when you get a price increase, a
- 14:54lot of people get upset and cancel.
- 14:56So they knew it was going to happen more so.
- 14:59And so that's what I had heard. And sure enough, like they
- 15:02raised their prices by $2.00. So the rumor that I heard was
- 15:06correct. So you and I have both got into
- 15:10trouble for things that we've said and we've talked about this
- 15:12in, of course, given, you know, the jobs that we're in, whether
- 15:18that's like reading just a current story about a business,
- 15:21we've got into trouble for that. We've been part of what happens
- 15:26when deregulation hits a business because it hit radio
- 15:30stations and a lot of people lost jobs.
- 15:32So we've been a part of that, which has happened to TV.
- 15:36And so, I mean, my thought on the whole thing is whether you
- 15:40disagree with Charlie Kirk or Jimmy Kimmel, just don't watch
- 15:45or listen them. I mean, like trying to silence
- 15:49either 1 is what countries like North Korea or Russia do.
- 15:53Like just don't watch or listen them.
- 15:55I mean, that's what I thought. And I and I saw that Sinclair,
- 16:00which owns 32 ABC affiliates, they're still not going to run
- 16:04Jimmy Kimmel. And then there's another group,
- 16:08I think down to the South also that's not going to run it.
- 16:11What I think is also sometimes misleading is I love when they
- 16:14say mega, Mega TV group won't run Jimmy Kimmel.
- 16:20Jimmy Kimmel runs on 240 TV stations in America. 200 and
- 16:244032 are Sinclair. So so when they say Mega TV
- 16:30group refuses to run it, I think those I think some of those
- 16:33headlines are misleading. And I'm saying, and I'm the same
- 16:36boat as you, it's like on both sides because a lot of people
- 16:40said, well, what about Roseanne and what about all these
- 16:43different things? So lutely.
- 16:45And, and even in radio, we are, we are under the same gun or the
- 16:49same thing is if I go on the air and say something and, and it
- 16:53does not correlate with the, the business, they can absolutely,
- 16:57absolutely let me go for those particular situations.
- 17:00So that is, I think that's a fair statement.
- 17:03So this is still American. I'm like you too.
- 17:06I, I, I think it's amazing how the lines get blurred one way or
- 17:10the other. Like, like let's say Roseanne,
- 17:13Roseanne got, got fired and they didn't, they decided not to fire
- 17:17Jimmy Kimmel. So, and that's the choice of the
- 17:21broadcaster. And they can, and they make that
- 17:24choice. But it's funny, again, it always
- 17:26comes down to revenue and money. Of course, that's all it is
- 17:30that's all because he Jimmy got shelved in the 1st place because
- 17:34it wasn't it that merger with next Gen.
- 17:36Yep and another company that was going to hurt yes, yes, and and
- 17:41and ABC was is a part of that somehow.
- 17:43I don't I don't know they were the ones that were threatening
- 17:47that they wanted this done. It wasn't ABC themselves and so,
- 17:52but a lot of people don't really know the true story that that's
- 17:54really what is behind it. And yeah, it's all about money.
- 17:58It's. Not about OK.
- 17:59What he said at all? Like it's to ABC anyway, OK.
- 18:04I don't know if I should talk about this, but in our own
- 18:09company, one of our morning show people in Montana said something
- 18:15that should never have been said on the radio.
- 18:18And because that station brings in a lot of money, the guy ended
- 18:21up getting suspended for a week and then he was back.
- 18:24Because at the end of the day, it is about money, revenue.
- 18:28If, I mean, if, if, if you can tie revenue to your show, which
- 18:31Jimmy Kimmel can. And they, and, and that's, and
- 18:36that's, that's exactly why they made the decision.
- 18:38They didn't make the decision because that ABC believes in
- 18:42Jimmy Kimmel or Disney believes in Jimmy Kimmel.
- 18:45Or didn't. Or were upset by what he said.
- 18:47I mean, it didn't come about until all this hubbub started
- 18:51with these two mergers that were going to happen and they were
- 18:54threatening to pull all that bullshit.
- 18:55And I, and you know what, I Nexstar and Sinclair both have
- 18:59said that they're not going to, not going to run Jimmy Kimmel.
- 19:03And I, I agree with them. They're, they're allowed to do
- 19:05that. And it's the same thing as Hobby
- 19:06Lobby not being open on Sunday or Chick-fil-A not being open on
- 19:08Sunday. I'm, it's like, that is your
- 19:12right, you're a business. You're, you're allowed to,
- 19:15you're allowed to make those decisions.
- 19:17Same as it was really big news here in the tri-cities years ago
- 19:21with Arlene's flower shop. Remember, that was all about the
- 19:23flowers and the gay marriage or the gay couple that went to the
- 19:26Supreme Court or whatever. And again, Arlene, I, whether I
- 19:32like it or not, I defend that shop's right to make that
- 19:36decision. And guess what?
- 19:37Where's Arlene now? Out of business so that because
- 19:41the consumer, because the consumer can turn around and go,
- 19:45I don't like. You.
- 19:47Know AB or C yes so so that and even even from let's say even
- 19:53from a Walmart standpoint even if you disagree with Walmart,
- 19:56it's like the reason why Walmart is successful is.
- 20:01However, many percentage of people, 8090% of people, don't
- 20:04care about the politics of Walmart, don't care that Walmart
- 20:08underpays their people, doesn't care that the people get get
- 20:12food stamps or whatever. Because peanut butter costs
- 20:15$1.98 at Walmart's and cost $4.00 at Jim's grocery store.
- 20:21That's the reality of the world. Oh yeah, it's about our
- 20:25pocketbooks now you. As a consumer can go, you know
- 20:28what, I am gonna go to pay $4.00 at Jim's grocery store because I
- 20:32want to support local and I want to support Jim and that is also
- 20:35you're right. The problem is there's not
- 20:37enough of you to take down Walmart or Chick-fil-A.
- 20:42Or it was. But there were enough people
- 20:45cancelling their Disney subscriptions there.
- 20:47Was there was, they said like. What so mad?
- 20:50Yeah, 340 million or some in dollars that that and again goes
- 20:55back to dollar and cents. If Jimmy Kimmel wasn't making
- 20:59money, he'd be gone. Jimmy Kimmel makes money.
- 21:05That's the same in radio. That's the same thing for us.
- 21:07When those ratings would come out and if the station was one,
- 21:11if the station was 1-2 or three, it didn't matter how shitty the
- 21:16person was that was doing the morning show.
- 21:18If they were pulling in the ratings, guess what?
- 21:21You kept them. Yep.
- 21:23Yep, and that's, that's the reality of of, you know, that's
- 21:28the reality of it all. So yeah, the Jimmy Kimmel thing
- 21:31and Sinclair and and next door, they have every right to keep
- 21:33them off the air too. So, and, and because ABC decided
- 21:38to keep Roseanne off or Bill Cosby or whatever, well, that's
- 21:41still as a business. It's still their choice.
- 21:43Right. And I defend and I defend that
- 21:45that that right. I mean, again, we do get free
- 21:48speech. We do.
- 21:49We have free speech, yes, you and I can say whatever we want,
- 21:52but we're not free of consequences of that speech.
- 21:54Right. Right on both sides.
- 21:57On both sides. And I know that a lot of people
- 21:59complain about, you know, the late night TV show host making
- 22:03fun of them, but it's like they've made fun of every
- 22:07president ever. Like they're not just singling
- 22:10out Trump, like they have made fun of every single.
- 22:13I mean, you're one of the most important people in the world.
- 22:16So of course they are going to make fun of you whether you like
- 22:19it or not. That's just that is again, part
- 22:21of free speech. Like they have that right to to
- 22:24make fun of you regardless. I will who you are, I'll clear
- 22:29this, clarify this for a lot of people, when you program radio
- 22:32stations, you know, program radio stations, we call it a
- 22:35slice of life. Who's the audience?
- 22:39Who's the audience and what are the best songs for the audience?
- 22:41So it's funny when you do a Top 40 radio station and a 65 year
- 22:45old man calls in and complaints. Hey, I just heard you play Missy
- 22:48Elliott, bitch and I'm offended by it.
- 22:51And I'm always like, I'm sorry, Sir, this station is targeting
- 22:56women 18 to 24. So bitch by Missy Elliott is
- 23:00100% appropriate. And even though you at 65 is a
- 23:04white male, don't like it, I don't.
- 23:06I don't program to you. So on the flip side, when you
- 23:10look at Laura Ingraham or Sean Hannity or even Rush Limbaugh,
- 23:15all that again, those things are built for a slice of length.
- 23:19They're built for who they're talking to.
- 23:21So go back to Jimmy Kimmel or Stephen Colbert, they're built.
- 23:25Jon Stewart, The Daily Show, I let you know, those are all
- 23:27built for that whatever particular audience.
- 23:30Now, if there's enough audience, they need enough audience.
- 23:33And then what's the return on investment on those if it?
- 23:35Because if if there was not enough, they wouldn't be on the
- 23:39air. Because at the end of the day,
- 23:41you and I both have worked with broadcasting executives and
- 23:45guess what all they care about. Money.
- 23:48Money. That's not.
- 23:49Care. They don't care how long you
- 23:51have worked for so and so company like.
- 23:53They won't drop you and cut you at the drop of a hat.
- 23:57They don't care what your loyalty is if it comes down.
- 24:01To X amount of money and that's your value and that even goes
- 24:04back to Jimmy Kimmel that yes the reason why he's coming back
- 24:07is because this is the value that he has for Disney and it's
- 24:11and so and everybody and if you can find that value for
- 24:16yourself, then you will also have a platform yeah cuz I cuz
- 24:21there's a lot of cuz I still think there's a lot of hate
- 24:23speech out there. Yeah, I.
- 24:26Mean a ton of it, a ton of it even on TikTok, even on Insta,
- 24:29there's a ton of it on both sides so.
- 24:31I was gonna say it's everywhere and.
- 24:33It's everywhere. It's everywhere.
- 24:36So you're not, you're not gonna win that battle.
- 24:39I love when people, I mean, it's so hard too.
- 24:42I see so much of it in the Facebook feed and I just have to
- 24:46keep on walking. I'm like, Nope, not worth the
- 24:49battle. But to get into it with people.
- 24:52We saw today, the recent or yesterday, we saw the
- 24:55announcement about autism and gosh and Tylenol.
- 25:00Well, yeah, I don't know if you want to break that down, but
- 25:02it's like, it's like my friend Jamie, who is a doctor and she's
- 25:09a she's a military doctor, says that's not true.
- 25:12Well, guess who I'm going to trust?
- 25:13Yes, I'm. Going to trust Jamie, my friend
- 25:15who's a doctor. Right.
- 25:17Who has a medical license and a degree then then RFK junior.
- 25:20Sorry, yes, there's no and and and trying to change the new
- 25:25cycle. I just never have understood.
- 25:29It's like don't. It's like, look over here, don't
- 25:31look over here while we do whatever we're gonna do.
- 25:34Right. So, and you know what, I don't
- 25:36care if it was a Democrat or Republican, somebody get up on
- 25:39the stage and saying something stupid, you're saying something.
- 25:42Especially if they have no medical background or are not a,
- 25:46a doctor or anybody. It could be research medicine.
- 25:49I don't, I don't care what it is like.
- 25:51Our son Matthew has a degree in chemistry.
- 25:53He's a chemist. And so he was at, he was at, he
- 25:57was at Stanford when COVID hit and when all the vaccine trials
- 26:02have been accelerated. And they and his, a couple of
- 26:05his labs were working on the data and all that.
- 26:08And so he was in the mix of it. And so I asked him, because you
- 26:11kept hearing this stuff about mRNA, which which has been
- 26:15around for 20-30 years by the way, it's not just something
- 26:18that popped up overnight. And I said, hey, I asked him,
- 26:22I'm like, hey, what is this mRNA stuff?
- 26:24And he explained it to me. And he's like, either get the
- 26:27Moderna or the Pfizer vaccine. Like these are going to be the
- 26:31two better ones because he was seeing the actual data and he
- 26:35works with protein based stuff currently.
- 26:37And so he's the one I asked because he has the college
- 26:40degree. I mean, he had to take a lot of
- 26:42the classes that pre Med students have to take.
- 26:44So he has the knowledge and so I'm going to talk to that person
- 26:48who I trust, who is going to give me here's the here's the
- 26:52risk, here's the benefits, you decide.
- 26:55So yeah, it's no differently. I'm not just going to randomly
- 26:59Google stuff and just take that as this is good advice from
- 27:05somebody who has no doctorate or anything.
- 27:08Just it's crazy to me. But they're but they're jumping
- 27:11on. But they are.
- 27:12It's amazing when you look in the comments how people are just
- 27:15jumping on the bandwagon. Right.
- 27:17And I've seen, Yeah. And I'll see the opposite too.
- 27:20I've seen what are you, what's create these, you know, all
- 27:22these, all these different things.
- 27:24Which, you know, I, I know people that have autistic
- 27:26children and they were really upset by this, like saying that
- 27:29their autism is because of Tylenol.
- 27:33It really upset them as parents that this is what they're saying
- 27:36about their kids. So, well, I have multiple, well,
- 27:38you and I know multiple people that have autistic children.
- 27:41So and so at my at my work, AJ and, and again, remember on the
- 27:47spectrum is such a wide, I mean, it's so the and, and, and all
- 27:53these different things that we've had autistic people same,
- 27:57same as we've had gay people since the start of time.
- 28:00So we just didn't classify it or we didn't clarify what it was.
- 28:04So. I think autism back before it
- 28:08was probably classified would have just been your ODD or your.
- 28:12On. Depending on what the spectrum,
- 28:14Right, right, right. Yeah, right.
- 28:16There's or if you were really bad, I mean, back in the day you
- 28:18would have been institutionalized.
- 28:20I mean, correct. That was the reality back.
- 28:23Then that was the reality, and then and then some and then
- 28:25some. They suspected we're autistic
- 28:28are people who are great poets, great writers.
- 28:31Michelangelo because he was such a Renaissance man.
- 28:34Michelangelo was such a Renaissance man.
- 28:35There was nothing that Michelangelo couldn't do.
- 28:38And and it's funny is I've got a Co worker and I talk about him
- 28:43all the time because he's literally an expert on
- 28:47everything, everything. Now his son is autistic.
- 28:52Now he I always joke after I get out of a conversation with him
- 28:56and he walks away. I tell Patty, I said I always
- 28:58go, he's on the spectrum because there's OK.
- 29:02I would like to think of myself as an intelligent person.
- 29:04I think you would like to think of yourself as an intelligent
- 29:06person. I am capable, as you know.
- 29:09I have a Really I think I have a pretty good memory.
- 29:11Yes, yeah, you do. I have a good memory definitely
- 29:14and and sometimes they they say memory is actually one of the
- 29:17links to intelligence I guess, if that makes sense right not.
- 29:21Mine's bad so. Right, they're not the whole,
- 29:24not the whole being of it, right.
- 29:25It's not the whole thing of it. It's just a it's just a slice of
- 29:28it, slice of it. Well, my Co worker can come in
- 29:32and it doesn't matter what subject we're talking about.
- 29:34He'll just go like a like a encyclopedia on, on the depth of
- 29:39anything. So, and I'm like, and I joke I'm
- 29:42like he's on, he's on the spectrum because no, because,
- 29:45and it's not a negative. It's no, I do not have the time
- 29:48in my day to do as much research as this guy, whatever he's
- 29:52doing. Right.
- 29:53Like that's probably what he's doing.
- 29:55He's probably not watching TV. He's just, he's just learning.
- 29:59He's just sucking in like. Whatever subject, whatever,
- 30:03whatever subject it is now it's interesting.
- 30:05So I and I know he's never been formally tested, but I but I do
- 30:09know his son is autistic. He has a daughter that's not.
- 30:13And then we have our friend up in Yakima who has three kids,
- 30:16One is 1 is autistic and then he's got 2 girls.
- 30:20And I would even say that that former Co worker is on the
- 30:23spectrum from a social never been tested, never been tested.
- 30:28But I, but I mean there's those, there's those heavy levels and
- 30:30those light levels. So I'm like, I'm like, because
- 30:36some of the social ineptness or some of the lack of emotion or
- 30:39empathy, different things that that kind of that make me go,
- 30:43OK, he's got and then he's and then he does have a child that's
- 30:46that is autistic. So.
- 30:48Right. Yeah, so to me, it's like talk
- 30:51to your doctor, trust your doctor, trust scientists, all
- 30:54those different things. I'm, I'm blown away.
- 30:56I don't want. I guess I'm just in the boat.
- 30:58I don't want to see polio come back.
- 30:59Sorry guys, I'm not a gosh. No.
- 31:02I'm not or, or even from a measles, measles or mumps, any
- 31:05of those things that that you and I both got.
- 31:07Hey, I might have been, I might have been poor as a child, but I
- 31:10was vaccinated. Yeah, me too, which we have this
- 31:13new grandbaby and they were saying if you were vaccinated
- 31:16for measles, mumps, rubella before rebellia.
- 31:20However, the hell you say that before 1990 that you might want
- 31:25to get a booster. And so my husband and I did
- 31:27because we do not want to risk our brand new grandbaby being
- 31:32exposed to measles because it it will kill them, it will kill
- 31:36them. And what is it going to hurt us
- 31:38to get one more? We've had the whole series
- 31:40growing up. What what is one more?
- 31:42I mean, it's not going to hurt us.
- 31:43And I'd rather protect her over anything.
- 31:46To me, I just look at better, better safe than sorry.
- 31:49And, and I just, I, you know, and I just never understood and
- 31:53I, hey, maybe educate me. But again, take it from a guy
- 31:56who's been 100% vaccinated through my life and we just
- 31:59talked about earlier where I've had zero health issues.
- 32:03And so I think, I think genetics, there's so many things
- 32:08that play into the role of Wyatt.
- 32:11Why does one person at 55 look different than another person at
- 32:1455? And and why is one person at 55
- 32:17completely 100% pain free and the next person's got shoulder
- 32:21surgery, leg surgeries, knee surgeries, all these different
- 32:25things. I think I think genetics play a
- 32:27huge and and your diet, your food, all these all these.
- 32:33Different things. Environment where?
- 32:34You live what? You're exposed to like, all
- 32:37that. Yep, I I 100%.
- 32:39I believe in all of those different things make make it
- 32:43up. It's not just one.
- 32:45You can't just point to one thing and I'm curious if the and
- 32:48Tylenol is a brand name not not not the actual drug.
- 32:53So I'm curious I'm. Just hypaminophen or?
- 32:55Whatever. Yeah, I'm surprised that I know
- 32:56like. The president couldn't say it
- 32:57so. So I'm surprised if Tylenol
- 32:59doesn't turn around and file a suit.
- 33:01Oh heck yeah. Because I think their stock
- 33:03dropped because of it. I think their stock dropped
- 33:05because of it. Yeah, yeah.
- 33:08I mean, that's the only thing that pregnant women can't take.
- 33:11We can't take ibuprofen or aspirin.
- 33:14And you don't want a pregnant woman with a super high fever
- 33:18because that puts her at risk and the fans at risk.
- 33:20I mean, like, there is common sense to this, but also, I mean,
- 33:24they don't want you just taking Tylenol on the regular either
- 33:27while you're pregnant. There has to be some common
- 33:29sense imbalance with it so. Well, and I also know that like,
- 33:33like ibuprofen and, and those type of drugs can do some damage
- 33:37to liver and kidneys if if you're taking them like, yeah, a
- 33:42lot. Which I didn't know ibuprofen
- 33:44could affect your hearing either like.
- 33:45That's. Something that I just learned,
- 33:47if you take it on the regular, I was like, what?
- 33:49So, yeah, yeah. So, so I cuz I cuz I thought
- 33:53when we were kids or maybe we were teens or young adults,
- 33:56someone said just take two aspirin every single day no
- 33:58matter what. I don't know.
- 33:59I don't know if someone say that or something like that.
- 34:02It wasn't it. Yeah, Take two aspirin and call
- 34:04me in the morning. Yeah, everyone.
- 34:05What's that sad? So, so, yeah.
- 34:07So it's yeah. So I mean, again, consult your
- 34:10health. We are not experts in in this,
- 34:13but I just know with my experiences with people that
- 34:17that I know personally that are autistic, I don't recall any of
- 34:21them ever mentioning that that and and they and they have
- 34:25multiple children that are not autistic.
- 34:28Right, yeah, which I mean, Shaylee, who is studying
- 34:32genetics, she'll rattle off stuff about genetics and autism,
- 34:36which it is genetic to some degree.
- 34:39But. But not all cases.
- 34:41But yeah, she'll rattle off. I don't remember what she says,
- 34:44but yeah, she'll remind me of all this stuff.
- 34:47But yeah. Yeah, 100%, almost anything and
- 34:49everything. I really believe you know big
- 34:51time about genetics. It's a, it's a crapshoot.
- 34:54It's a kind of kind of like being born into wealth.
- 34:58It's a crapshoot. It's a crapshoot.
- 35:00It's a crapshoot and same same when it.
- 35:02Comes to it, why weren't we not born into wealth?
- 35:04Yep, like. That Logan?
- 35:06Logan asked me that every single day, you know, and it's a
- 35:09bummer. I'm like, sorry, son, you
- 35:10weren't born to the Prince William and Princess Kate.
- 35:13Sorry. Great.
- 35:14Yeah. This is this is what you got,
- 35:16dude. Yep.
- 35:16This is what you're stuck with. Yeah.
- 35:19So, but I'll be curious to see how that unfolds in the next
- 35:22couple weeks here. Yes.
- 35:24So over the weekend I got stuck into watching this show this
- 35:27summer. I turned pretty.
- 35:28Have you heard about this? Show I, of course.
- 35:30Yeah, it's on Amazon. You're right.
- 35:33Yeah, I don't know. I'm familiar with it.
- 35:35Not usually my normal thing to watch, but I.
- 35:37It's not normally mine either. I don't even know how I got OK.
- 35:40It's kind of like that coming of age type show.
- 35:43It reminds me of Twilight but mine is like the vampire and the
- 35:47werewolf. It's like the girl that the two,
- 35:49well the young girl, the two guys that are in love with her.
- 35:52But plot twist they're brothers. Like they are brothers.
- 35:56Uh huh. Hopefully.
- 35:57Legends of the Fall Is this Legends of the Fall?
- 36:00Basically, hopefully I didn't just, but I mean, if you've
- 36:04watched the first season, you, you, you know what's going on.
- 36:07So I didn't ruin anything for you.
- 36:08But yeah, yeah, I got completely drawn.
- 36:12And there are three seasons, there's three books.
- 36:14This was which I made all the way through the entire thing
- 36:17this weekend. Like Jay was probably getting so
- 36:19mad at me because I'd be like, I'm going to go upstairs and
- 36:21watch my show. And he's just like, like what?
- 36:24Bedtime with me? No.
- 36:25Then go watch the show. Because I know it's not a show.
- 36:27He's he is not going to watch this show.
- 36:30He's going to be sitting there going, what in the hell is she
- 36:33making me watch? Like, like, no, no.
- 36:37So yeah, I get sucked into this and I I finish like all three
- 36:42seasons this weekend. Wow.
- 36:44Come to find out, OK. Because like, Book 3 was like
- 36:48the finale of Season 3, but there's going to be a movie.
- 36:53Oh boy. I know it's like, Oh my God,
- 36:57yeah. So I, I think I kind of like
- 37:00like this show because there's a lot of Taylor Swift songs in it.
- 37:04And it's like right at the the perfect moment, a Taylor Swift
- 37:09song comes on and it's just, it takes you back to that time of
- 37:13being a teenager, like your first love or that love that you
- 37:17know that you can never be with it.
- 37:19Stuff like that. You're like, OK, plus I'm a
- 37:22girl, so I get sucked in all that stuff really easy.
- 37:24But just for anyone who has watched the show and knows what
- 37:27I'm talking about, I am Team Conrad, not Jeremiah.
- 37:31So I mean, if you want to hate me for that, hate me for that,
- 37:35well, I'm super excited. There's a movie, so I'm
- 37:38thrilled. I mean, it's one of those
- 37:40things, I think if I enjoy those movies, I generally will enjoy
- 37:45the ones from the guy's point of view.
- 37:47So that's, well, I mean, in terms of like when you're
- 37:52talking coming of age. So for, for, for me, it was
- 37:55like, you know, like meatballs or something, I mean.
- 37:58Porky's like the. Animal House Yeah, but but I did
- 38:02I will say, and you know me, I do like AI.
- 38:05Will you know, I do like a good ROM com.
- 38:07I do. I I get sucked into ROM coms and
- 38:10I just watched Miranda Cosgrove's The Wrong Paris.
- 38:15How is that? Adorable.
- 38:17Adorable because she's on, you remember she's on a, she's on a
- 38:19dating show basically. So yeah, it's, it's super cute.
- 38:23Super cute. And if you know her from iCarly
- 38:25and school Rock and all that. So Yep.
- 38:28Yep. Yeah, so, so I did watch, I did
- 38:31watch that I'd put it off forever that I had a little
- 38:33break this morning that I can't watch it and it's it's on
- 38:35Netflix now. Normally, normally you you know
- 38:39me well enough to know normally I like I like action, I like
- 38:43procedurals, dramas. I am not a horror fan.
- 38:47That's the one thing either I know that horrors made horror
- 38:51movies and stuff have made a real like Weapons and all these
- 38:54movies have made a. Real research, it's not so much,
- 38:56it's not so much the horror movies for me, it's the ones
- 38:59that fuck with your mind. I mean that those are the ones
- 39:03that not necessarily the gore ones, but the ones that you're
- 39:07going, Oh my God, you know, like, yeah, those.
- 39:09Were so you're talking M Night Shalaman in those different ways
- 39:12with the twist in it and different things like that.
- 39:15Yes, no, even the saw like you know, because those like yeah,
- 39:20they have the gore aspect to it, but those really mess with your
- 39:23mind too. It's no.
- 39:25I think I watched the 1st 2 songs and that was it.
- 39:29I was like I'm out. I am no.
- 39:31What I what I think of a good like a good movie like that.
- 39:34I think of my gosh, Hannibal Lecter, what's that one?
- 39:38Silence of the Lambs. So that's those are the kinds.
- 39:42And if you're talking like fun, fun stuff and tell Jay about
- 39:46Knives Out. I love the Knives Out movies.
- 39:48There's there's that's coming back and there's going to be a
- 39:50third one coming out. But it's a it's a detective.
- 39:53I mean, there's a murderer. It's a detective, those kind of
- 39:56things. So I'm, yeah, I'm big.
- 39:57I like. But it has to be that he can't
- 39:58figure it out. That's what makes the nice out
- 40:01cool is because you're trying to solve it a lot.
- 40:02You're trying to solve it like, you know, so I so yes, I like I
- 40:05like, you know, Matlock and Elsbeth and those kind of
- 40:09procedurals where they're trying to figure out who who done it.
- 40:11I like the good. I like the good whodunits.
- 40:13And then and then you know me out of I like a good action
- 40:16movie. So Elisa Neeson kicking some
- 40:19ass. I'm all about South most of the
- 40:21time. Those are my kind of movies.
- 40:24And then and then ROM com, Yeah, ROM com will slip, slip in
- 40:29there. I am not into which shocks my
- 40:31son, being a comic book fan. I am not into anime.
- 40:35Are you into any anime? Different things.
- 40:37No, but my kids are. I know, I know.
- 40:40Manga or whatever it's called, which I could be pronouncing
- 40:44that wrong, I'm sorry, I don't know.
- 40:45But yeah, they are. Which I think like.
- 40:48I think three of them out of the four are into it.
- 40:51Yeah, the K pop, or at least. Yeah, watch a little bit of it.
- 40:54I no, the K Pop Demon Hunter is not, which is surprising because
- 40:59my daughter loves Stray Kids, the K Pop group, because I, I
- 41:04had to ask her about this, like that movie that you're talking
- 41:07the K pop Demon Hunters. I thought it was, I thought it
- 41:10was another K pop group because there's so many of them and
- 41:14they're so popular right now. It's like, is this another like
- 41:17K pop group? And she's like, no, it's just,
- 41:19it's just a movie. It's not a real band.
- 41:21I'm like OK. They sing along and it's a sing.
- 41:24It's a sing along. I don't know, I she, she was not
- 41:28impressed or did not want to watch it or I don't know, she it
- 41:32didn't have anything to do with Stray Kids, I guess.
- 41:34So she didn't want to have anything to do with it.
- 41:36I don't know but so. Yeah.
- 41:39So you would. Yeah.
- 41:39So you would think that I was. Yeah, that not that I'm not into
- 41:42that, does it? My son is I.
- 41:45Wouldn't necessarily think those two things would go to grip
- 41:48together though, like being into superheroes.
- 41:51And yeah, they don't. They don't, you know, it's kind
- 41:54of like, it's kind of like like Star Trek and Star Wars for me,
- 41:58I enjoy Star Trek better than I enjoy Star Wars.
- 42:02So I'm more of a Star Trek fan because but again, it's Star
- 42:05Trek for me is thinking like they're there's little morality
- 42:09plays and and different things like that compared to just
- 42:11lightsaber battles, which is fine.
- 42:14I like, you know, I like a good Star Wars movie too.
- 42:16But but I but I but like my buddy at work, AJ.
- 42:20Oh God, he's an over the moon Star Wars fan.
- 42:22Like he's just Oh my. Well, remember Cephas Mica was a
- 42:25massive. Right.
- 42:27Massive Star Wars fan. So there, there, there's those
- 42:30little, you know, little places for it so.
- 42:34But before I forget, we discussed in a few podcasts ago
- 42:40how I talked about I've been cleaning out our two storage
- 42:43units and I found my My Little Ponies from when I was a child.
- 42:49Wow. And I supposedly had saved them
- 42:51for when I had a daughter, but then I never let her play with
- 42:53them. Well, my cousin, she heard that
- 42:56podcast and she had to call and remind me that when she would
- 43:01come over, I would only let her play with certain My Little
- 43:05Ponies. Like, she couldn't play with
- 43:08whichever one she wanted. I would only let her play with
- 43:11certain ones. And then when we played Barbies,
- 43:14I would always make her be the kid dolls.
- 43:17She could not be the Barbies. And I had totally forgot.
- 43:19I had totally forgot about that. And I was like, I was like,
- 43:23damn, I was a tyrant back then. You were hardcore, man.
- 43:26Hardcore. Yeah.
- 43:28Not you would not have been fun to play with.
- 43:30Like no. I'm surprised they still put up
- 43:34with me and wanted to come over to her house, no?
- 43:36One wants to be Ken. No, unless you're the boy like
- 43:41that's being sucked into playing with his sister or his friend,
- 43:44whatever. Then you're then that usually
- 43:46the bullies are the Ken dolls, but I didn't have no bullies, so
- 43:49I had to make something to the Ken dolls.
- 43:51So yeah. And then my other cousin
- 43:54Jessica, I would make her be Ken, but she hated playing dolls
- 43:57of any kind. So I think she was a she might
- 43:59have been OK with being Ken, but she might have not.
- 44:01I might have just been doing it just because I wanted her to.
- 44:03I don't know. So yeah, I don't know.
- 44:06I thought that was funny. I totally forgot about it.
- 44:08So anyway, and it's some sad news today, Catfish, the TV show
- 44:12has been cancelled. Did you hear about this?
- 44:14I did not, and I do. I am familiar with the show
- 44:16though. Yeah, I never watched it, but I
- 44:18do understand. I understand the premise though.
- 44:20I mean, I like to watch. I would watch it periodically.
- 44:22Why was it like Die hard watching it?
- 44:24But yeah, yeah. So Yep, it's done.
- 44:28I know my my Co worker Patty was into the is into the TV show
- 44:30Cheaters. I have watched that a lot.
- 44:34Is that thing still on the air? I don't know if it's still on,
- 44:37but it's just. Reruns.
- 44:38That's like the Mori. The Mori show is all reruns and.
- 44:41The nice thing about the nice thing about streaming is you
- 44:44have everything and anything, anything and everything is out
- 44:49as out there for streaming right now.
- 44:51So I, I had gotten down a rabbit hole a couple days ago.
- 44:55I'm on vacation this week, so I've been enjoying just hanging
- 44:57out at the house and and I an old TV western called the Big
- 45:01Valley, which stars Lee Majors and Linda Evans and Barbara
- 45:06Steinwick. It's from 1965.
- 45:07And I went, I just went, I went down the does Jay like?
- 45:12Westerns, you went down the rabbit hole.
- 45:13I do because I think his dad would make him watch him over
- 45:16and. Over when he's younger.
- 45:17Too so. I do.
- 45:18I like, I like a good. I like a good Western.
- 45:20Yeah, it's kind of weird. I guess I'm kind of weird to
- 45:23people, but yeah, I like. I mean, the extent of the
- 45:25Westerns I like is young guns and young guns.
- 45:28Too. Those were great.
- 45:29I remember both. I remember both those movies.
- 45:31Love both those. Love the both those movies,
- 45:33Yeah. I'm surprised we haven't been
- 45:35cancelled by people because. Not yet, Not yet.
- 45:38Not. Yet someone did say hi.
- 45:40I thought it was a scammer that said hi in one of our comments.
- 45:43I didn't know if you were going to respond back to him or
- 45:44something. I did not because it is a
- 45:46scammer. If you click on their if you
- 45:50click on their profile, you can usually tell.
- 45:53I'm like, well, I did not even go back.
- 45:54I mean you. Could respond.
- 45:55I don't no, I just. Want No I just went same as you.
- 45:58Like probably scammer no one no. You can usually tell if you
- 46:02click on their profiles and then look and yeah, don't, yeah.
- 46:06I mean, that's the one. That's the one person that's
- 46:09reached out to. Us.
- 46:10I know it is. Yeah.
- 46:11We're broke. What do you want?
- 46:13What do you want, man? We're broke.
- 46:15Yeah. Broke.
- 46:15What do you want? Good luck, we're not sending you
- 46:17any money. What do you want?
- 46:19Got nothing, got nothing to send man.
- 46:21Got nothing to send if I had something to WE.
- 46:22Only have 6 listeners, we're not making any money.
- 46:26There's going to be someday they're going to discover a
- 46:28Nigerian Prince who tried to give away his billions and he
- 46:31was he, he really existed and just couldn't give it away, I
- 46:34guess. You have someday, someday.
- 46:37Oh my gosh. Oh, that's Barkley.
- 46:42I will say it will be interesting.
- 46:44I'll I'll let you I'll report on next week before we go is my
- 46:47sister Robin is passing through town and I've never had a family
- 46:51member ever at my house. So so it'll be nice to see my
- 46:55sister Robin and her husband Mike.
- 46:56They're big fisherman, so they must have gone.
- 46:59They must be on a fishing trip or something and they're passing
- 47:01through tri-cities today. So I I said just come on over
- 47:04and and a little after three they're supposed to come.
- 47:07So be curious to see, you know, I've never had a family member
- 47:10at my house so. How it's how it's going to,
- 47:12it'll be fine. You're not going to.
- 47:14Be awesome dogs are going to be as the house is not as clean as
- 47:18Megan would like it. Oh.
- 47:19My God, I'm sure it's fine. Oh, she sounds like me, though,
- 47:23right before the holidays. Like I drive everybody crazy,
- 47:27crazy because I'm stressing out and I'm cleaning and they can't,
- 47:29right. They leave like one dirty dish
- 47:31in the sink. I start freaking out.
- 47:33People can't be in the kitchen with me.
- 47:34It's it's a whole, it's a whole production.
- 47:36The kids are like, Oh my. Gosh, yeah.
- 47:38So that's yeah, that's where I was today when she left.
- 47:40Left today. She is like, I can't believe
- 47:42you're inviting your sister over to this pigsty.
- 47:44I'm like, you know, you and I, I grew up not not with my foster
- 47:49parents, but with the wall says I grew up in a pigsty.
- 47:51I know what a pigsty looks like. And this and this does not look
- 47:53like a pigsty. Like my mom hated cleaning the
- 47:56house so guess who was the house cleaner?
- 47:58You. Were.
- 47:59I hate so this is like one of my trauma things not to get off
- 48:04like. Hell hell loop.
- 48:06Oh yeah, this could be so she loved to bake or cook or
- 48:10whatever, but she hated cleaning up and doing the dishes.
- 48:13And back then, nobody had dishwashers.
- 48:16I mean, unless you were. Yeah, we didn't, the wall says.
- 48:19No, we didn't. Have anything right so I was the
- 48:21dishwasher and she would I mean the counter would be piled high
- 48:27with pots and pans and dishes and it would take me forever to
- 48:30wash them. And so yes, that is if I go,
- 48:33this used to happen when I was doing mornings because I'd have
- 48:35to go to to bed so early and the kids would be still be up to
- 48:37older kids. You know, when you got to go to
- 48:39bed at 8, Like no, like 14 year olds going to want to go to bed
- 48:42at 8:00. So they would be eating,
- 48:44pilfering through the kitchen and they would leave all these
- 48:47dishes and I would get up the next morning and it would be the
- 48:50counter and the sink would be covered and I would start to
- 48:52freak out. But it was just from my
- 48:55childhood, just a trauma response.
- 48:57So I've kind of I've tried to be better and it's probably not a
- 49:01lot better. That's a good topic for a future
- 49:04podcast. Like could someone just drop by
- 49:07your house right now and you'd and you'd be and you'd be and
- 49:11you'd be OK and you'd be OK? Now would be fine.
- 49:14Now, when I was going through the storage units, no, because
- 49:17it was just like the entire downstairs was just full of
- 49:21stuff everywhere because I was trying to sort through
- 49:24everything. And yeah, now it's fine.
- 49:26It's, I mean, I think that. For us, the biggest thing is a
- 49:29lot of dust from the dogs. Yes, I think, or I think more
- 49:34than anything else, cuz our dogs go in and outside so much and
- 49:36we've got, we have two swinging doors up in the, up in the And
- 49:40so I think the biggest thing is not clutter or stuff.
- 49:43It's just, yeah, stuff is dusty. Yeah, yeah.
- 49:47Like I can't handle clutter and OK, well, hopefully you can fill
- 49:51us in on how this visit with your sister goes.
- 49:53Your first family family member coming to your house.
- 49:55I know never, never in my gosh and all these and all, I can't
- 49:58think in all these years. You growing up and progressing?
- 50:03Well, I was too cheap. I didn't want to go pay for a
- 50:06cheeseburger today. That's it for today's episode of
- 50:10Rick and That Michelle Che. Thanks for hanging out with us.
- 50:14If you laughed, rolled your eyes, or question our sanity

- 50:23It helps people find our chaos. And hey, share it with a friend
- 50:28who could use a laugh. We'll be back with more sarcasm
- 50:31stories and questionable life advice next time.
- 50:36See ya.
