Transcript
- 0:12Hello, hello, hello, hello, welcome.
- 0:17Merry Christmas one and all. This is Santa Brothers and
- 0:24welcoming you to Bratas Grappas episode 20 where this edition we
- 0:32are going to be taking a look back at the Millie McKenzie
- 0:37benefit show which was Bridge Pro and Spinebuster media
- 0:43combining for a special crossover show entitled Holiday
- 0:50Havoc. So before we get to that, tis
- 0:59the season of Christmas, a season that I personally hate.
- 1:05I am not a Grinch, I just don't particularly like this time of
- 1:08year. But saying that, I have gifted
- 1:12you many gifts this week, as if you haven't heard already, I did
- 1:21a special Lancashire double that was looking back at both the
- 1:30Chorley Show which was for Lancashire Wrestling Federation.
- 1:36That was the fight made before Christmas.
- 1:39We also then headed to Morecambe for Odyssey Pro Wrestling OPW
- 1:48and over the last couple of days we've had further shows
- 1:53featuring that of Eve, Let's Slam Santa.
- 1:59What else have we had? Atomic at Liverpool for Nuclear
- 2:05Winter Free. We also had Future Shock, which
- 2:10I'm not repeating the name of that show because I hate it.
- 2:14And also we had the last episode I believe if it's in order and
- 2:21that was of Catch and their show.
- 2:27We don't promote chaos, we deserve it.
- 2:33A strong set of shows, if you've been to them or a couple of
- 2:41them, very entertaining shows throughout.
- 2:46So if you are at a loose end and need to kill a couple of hours,
- 2:54if you would like to, you know, dip in and listen back to them,
- 2:59it would be greatly appreciated. So we will have a look back at
- 3:10last Friday night at the Amble Co Legion Club.
- 3:16As I say, Bridge Pro and Spinebuster Media coming
- 3:21together to help out Miller McKenzie, who if you do not know
- 3:28what's what's been going on, The news broke from Millie herself,
- 3:35who has been battling a liver disease her whole life.
- 3:42It hasn't really affected her too much in ring she's for all
- 3:49over the world. However, she release the news
- 3:58that her condition is or has been deteriorating, so much so
- 4:06that she now needs a liver transplant.
- 4:10So because of that it has seen Millie having to step away from
- 4:15in ring action for the immediate future.
- 4:19Hopefully not very not long term such would.
- 4:26So in the meantime it has seen the whole of the wrestling
- 4:33community, not just here in the UK but all over the world have
- 4:38been helping to raise money and funds for Mackenzie.
- 4:45And originally the total they were hoping to raise was 13,000
- 4:53and as of today, which is Christmas Eve, don't you know,
- 4:59we are looking at 13,155. So they well and truly over took
- 5:12the 13,000 mark and are now looking to just push on and
- 5:19increase or get as much as they can for her.
- 5:23Millie who I I have a real kind of soft spot for familiar.
- 5:33When I first started going to shows was around 2023.
- 5:40So before I kind of went to all the shows I've done and
- 5:45podcasted, I would pretty much just watch kind of like American
- 5:51shows, mainly because I had a great deal of anxiety.
- 5:58I still have anxiety, though. A lot of people don't
- 6:03particularly see that. Plus I had like a lot of
- 6:09depression. So going out was very not, not
- 6:16on my bingo card or whatever the particular phrases, but I did
- 6:24the all in weekend back in 2023, took in a couple of shows while
- 6:30in London, which was bloody brave by me, has to be said
- 6:33looking back now. And then a couple days later
- 6:38there was a show in Manchester at the Bread Shed, which as we
- 6:44spoke about yesterday, is sadly now not going to become a
- 6:49wrestling venue from this point onwards, which is a a shame.
- 6:56I took in a modern nomad show, which for those that don't know
- 7:03is a very comedic, like a variety show.
- 7:10Innocence, if you have been to a future Shock Hangover show and
- 7:16where it's themed and it's just very much like fun based but
- 7:21with wrestling, that's kind of that was the vibe effectively
- 7:26modern Nomads, but it was always themed in some sense.
- 7:33So that particular show was a Choco Pro 1 and I went into this
- 7:42quite nervous, didn't know anyone in on the wrestling scene
- 7:47at all. And come the end of the night,
- 7:51there were a couple people that I really kind of got my interest
- 7:56and really like, oh, they're really good.
- 8:01And I'd love to see more of them.
- 8:04And one of them was Melanie McKenzie, who from memory took
- 8:10on, oh, I've completely forgot his name.
- 8:21So it was LJ Cleary, which I should have known.
- 8:27And they had a fun little contest that went into the
- 8:31crowd. So we had all kind of the fun
- 8:35comedic things, but come the end of the evening and everyone kind
- 8:42of just stood around trying to get autographs and pictures and
- 8:47just just literally catching up with good friends that go to all
- 8:52these shows. I saw Melanie McKenzie and
- 8:58wanted to kind of get a photo, but again, I was so nervous.
- 9:05Just like going up to a wrestler again.
- 9:09From where I am there to now is like light years away.
- 9:15However, I'd asked Millie for a photo.
- 9:19Felt so kind of awkward and as I say, shy doing it, but Millie
- 9:26kind of. Anyone that's met Millie will
- 9:28know. She's just the absolutely
- 9:30loveliest human being. Had a photo with.
- 9:37Had a very quick chat because I think she was just about to tour
- 9:42Japan shortly after. So he kind of had a very quick
- 9:47interaction, but I was so nervous and I sounded like a
- 9:51complete idiot, which I still do now.
- 9:55So while some things change, that doesn't Anyway, moving kind
- 10:03of moving forward through the the past couple of years, every
- 10:07time Millie's been on a show, I've always kind of had a little
- 10:13chat with her and we've always had like a little fun
- 10:16interaction, especially at bridge.
- 10:21We've always kind of chatted a bit more because I know friends
- 10:28that seem to be a bit more chatty with her.
- 10:29So I've kind of spoke more with Millie and of course, when this
- 10:34news got released by Millie, I wanted to kind of help is as
- 10:43well, in the very smallest part at least.
- 10:48So buying one of the T-shirts and going to support the show,
- 10:54which I was going to anyway, but because of what they were doing,
- 11:00it made me want to support the show even more.
- 11:05So that's, that's effectively kind of the the background with
- 11:13Millie that I have, which I mean, isn't massive, but for on
- 11:19a personal level, the way she was when I kind of first met her
- 11:26and asked for autograph, I'd always stuck with me and is why
- 11:32I've always been such a massive fan of Millie.
- 11:38I've I've normally put that quite a few times when people
- 11:42bring her up and ask what she's like.
- 11:46She honestly is one of the the nicest kindest people you will
- 11:51ever meet and also one of the the funniest as well when she
- 11:58brings out the humour. But that said, this show,
- 12:07Holiday Havoc was in two parts. So the first half was
- 12:15Spinebuster Media's kind of section of the show and the
- 12:21second-half belong to Bridge Pro.
- 12:24So you had a nice little balance.
- 12:28So if we move to the first half and the opening contest was a
- 12:36freeway match between Leon Cage, Franco Fate and Jack Sellstrom,
- 12:44this was for one of the medallions.
- 12:49So if you're a fan of spinebuster media, then you will
- 12:55know that they don't particularly have titles.
- 13:02One of the unique features they have is medallions, so it's, I
- 13:12can't remember what the actual I think ones like within a certain
- 13:16time limit. 1 is if it's a multi person match and then there's
- 13:24kind of like a third medallion where if you collect all three
- 13:30you get yourself a ticket stamped to a title match against
- 13:35whoever the champion is at that time.
- 13:38I think I've explained that as well as possible, which is not
- 13:44normally my style, but this match the right.
- 13:53I'll do the negative bit first. The first few minutes or so it
- 14:04saw a bit kind of sloppy mistimed things happening, but
- 14:14in fairness, all three very quickly kind of what ironed out
- 14:18the little kinks and little problems they had early on.
- 14:25And then it just it advanced into a really fun opening
- 14:30contest. Franco Fate and Jack Sellstrom I
- 14:35have not seen before, though I do get this sense I have seen
- 14:42Fate somewhere where I do not know, but he looks very familiar
- 14:50and it could easily be. I've seen him just hanging
- 14:54around in the crowd at a certain show and that's why it's in my
- 14:58head. But this was an interesting
- 15:03dynamic because you had Leon Cage, who risk taker high flyer
- 15:09quicker than a hiccup, Franco Fate, who was very much the
- 15:14powerhouse in this contest, and Jack Sellstrom, who was again, a
- 15:25almost a hybrid because he was he was tough as well, but he
- 15:30seemed a bit more technical. So you had an interesting
- 15:35dynamic with these three where we at one point had Cage going
- 15:44to chop Fate effectively on my lap or next to my friend Lorna's
- 15:49lap, which Cage went to chop him, told us to like hold Fate.
- 15:59Then Cellstrom came from nowhere St Leon flying for a few seconds
- 16:05and then proceeded to just smack as hard as it got the chest of
- 16:11Fate with my friend Lana uttering the words It's very
- 16:19nice to meet you by the way, which I might play that little
- 16:25clip just because it was so funny.
- 16:31Then it seemed to have them going all around the the
- 16:35Amblecote Social Club. Oh, sorry, Legion club.
- 16:42Fate seemed to just be the actual powerhouse and just well,
- 16:49just using his power effectively overpowering everyone.
- 16:54Cage looked in a bit of discomfort.
- 16:58Cellstrom was almost equal to fate because they seem to be
- 17:04very much the the meat of the two meat guys in this ring in
- 17:10this match even but can get me words right.
- 17:14I saw the kind of like chopped each other back and forth.
- 17:18Cage would always kind of pop up with a high risk offence.
- 17:23Cage would win this match reversing an attempted pile
- 17:28driver I believe, kind of running down the back our fate,
- 17:35rolling him up for the one 2-3. Yeah, really entertaining
- 17:41opening match. So Cage takes home the medallion
- 17:49crowd. Took a while on this show to
- 17:52kind of find their voice, but it can't take any way anything away
- 17:59from this match at all. It was a really fun opener and I
- 18:04look forward to seeing it back when Spinebuster will post the
- 18:09show. Match #2 saw Kanji taking on
- 18:15Omari Kanji, who is definitely one of the top, and there's a
- 18:24rising stars, especially in the women's division.
- 18:31She's always kind of bubbled and kind of ebbed and flowed in the
- 18:37echelons, if you like, of British wrestling.
- 18:42But in recent times, her match against Mercedes Monet at high
- 18:47Stakes, I believe, I think that was in Doncaster.
- 18:54I might have been Coventry. It was on a Rev Pro show.
- 19:00But her performances have gained her a really kind of critical
- 19:09acclaim, I suppose is one word, to put it what, a couple of
- 19:12words? That's 2 words.
- 19:16Monet is a massive fan of Kanji and her stocks just seems to be
- 19:22rising more and more. Omari we've seen a couple of
- 19:28Times Now at Bridge. Great to watch in the ring Tall.
- 19:38I mean there are more qualities than that, but he is he is
- 19:46someone that is enjoyable to watch in matches.
- 19:50His match with Miller McKenzie and Charles Crowley for the I
- 19:56think it was for the Ricks title when Crowley held the French
- 20:01Championship. The match that him and Omari put
- 20:05on that bridge was hilarious but equally really good wrestling.
- 20:15But this match itself was. Same as the match we'll come to
- 20:21a bit later on, the main event of the first half, it was very
- 20:27much mutual respect, which suddenly saw this break off into
- 20:33being very competitive. Omari obviously having the
- 20:40height advantage over kanji, Kanji not being put off by the
- 20:48height and being a bit of an underdog in this contest had
- 20:55some really interesting offence. Omari, as I say, taller than
- 21:02kanji. So Kanji using wrestling smarts
- 21:08and something that I have spoke about, I think it was on catch
- 21:12yesterday with Kevin Lloyd and Big T.
- 21:17When you have a smaller opponent against a taller 1, the the best
- 21:24way to do it is try and chop them down and going for the legs
- 21:31to kind of bring them down to your level is something that I
- 21:36really enjoy with wrestling when it makes a bit more sense.
- 21:42Kanji did this to Omari quite often just to kind of make it a
- 21:48bit more even if you can kind of say that match went back and
- 21:54forth. Omari and Kanji hitting German
- 21:58suplexes. Kanji getting a lot of offence
- 22:02in the crowd is very split for this contest though.
- 22:10It started off with Kanji being the favourite and then everyone
- 22:14seemed to side with Omari because no one was cheering
- 22:18originally, and then they seem to go back to Kanji, back to
- 22:23Omari and then it just splintered into different little
- 22:27sections. Kanji would take this match
- 22:33after putting Omari in a almost like a octopus hold and then
- 22:40pulling the arms closer together, which the only time
- 22:45I've seen this move used was Ethan Allen Maxstead back at
- 22:53Progress a few months ago and it looks absolutely horrible.
- 23:01Looking at it is nasty, but it just looks horrible when it's
- 23:05being put on. And I mean horrible in a good
- 23:09way. It just looks the most painful
- 23:13move you could take. Unsurprisingly, Omari taps quite
- 23:19quickly when it's cranked on. Kanji is your winner and then we
- 23:27had a show of respect between the two which was fun to see.
- 23:36Match #3 saw a five way match for another medallion.
- 23:43This featured Melissa Fears up the north, a Lunar who I'll get
- 23:52to in a wee bit, Chantelle Jordan, who is very much known
- 23:56to the Bridge Pro crowd, Claudia Bradstone, who was very much the
- 24:02biggest heel in this contest, and Duchess Sophia, who, as we
- 24:12very quickly found out, has a rivalry with Claudia Bradstone.
- 24:20I will say this before we kind of move on, I used to watch
- 24:25Spinebuster and then just did not have the time to watch every
- 24:32show. So I am a bit out of the loop of
- 24:36things that have going on but Bradstone is she looks an
- 24:45absolute * Out of all these the ones that kind of stick out
- 24:54straight away in terms of presence at least one is
- 24:59Bradstone who just looks evil personified and Melissa Fears
- 25:07who obviously with the red hair and just how she looks them to
- 25:14look like stars. That will only get better as the
- 25:20years go by. A Luna I have not seen before
- 25:27but I believe she has worked with Lucia Lee and you can see a
- 25:35bit of Lucia in a Luna which is not a bad thing at all and I was
- 25:43I was really impressed with a Lunar in this match when we saw
- 25:48her doing some offence. The Duchess, I think I've seen
- 25:57brief snippets, but this is the first time actually watching
- 26:03her. And again, all all five women in
- 26:08this match played their part brilliantly for what they were
- 26:15trying to accomplish. So when the bell rang, we had
- 26:22Bradstone and the Duchess effectively just going straight
- 26:27at it like a hockey fight, while you had Fierce Aluna and Chantal
- 26:33Jordan just watching on, just thinking what on earth is going
- 26:38on here? Should we wrestle or should we
- 26:41just watch him as Brad Stone and the Dutchess just fought in the
- 26:47ring, out the ring. And then the three left in the
- 26:52ring decided to take it upon themselves to, you know, we're
- 26:57here, we might as well have this match.
- 27:01All three got offence in Bradstone and the Duchess would
- 27:06come back into this contest. Everyone got some sort of
- 27:13offence on in this match again. I was really impressed with
- 27:20Aluna. Out of the whole 5, Aluna and
- 27:30Bradstone were the two that really kind of top my eye.
- 27:36We didn't really see a lot of Duchess Sophia, if truth be
- 27:42told, because I, I feel Spinebuster have a rivalry set
- 27:48with, as I say, Bradstone and the Duchess.
- 27:53So I think that's where they're going to go with that as they
- 27:57pretty much just fall all over the venue.
- 28:01Meanwhile, in the ring, it was really effectively a freeway
- 28:06match with Fierce Aluna Jordan. Fierce would win the match,
- 28:13hitting Chantal Jordan with a kind of getting Jordan up on her
- 28:19shoulders and bringing her down, almost like a Michinoku driver,
- 28:29but just slightly modified. It's one way to put it.
- 28:35So Jordan won the medallion, while post match Fierce just
- 28:41watches both Bradstone and the Duchess fighting all the way
- 28:46back up the stairs, onto the stage and through the curtain.
- 28:53So again, anything that happened in that match I feel will make
- 28:59more sense if you watch the product.
- 29:02But even if you don't, you've got a hell out, a hell of a
- 29:07match out of it. So the main event of Part 1
- 29:16featured J Joshua going up against the leader of the pack
- 29:22in Rio. Easily two of the top stars
- 29:28right now in the UK for different reasons.
- 29:34Rio is just being on a fair bit of a tear, be it Europe or over
- 29:42the pond. Joshua is starting to come more
- 29:47into his own and saw both of these competitors having free
- 29:53titles each, Which kind of tells you where these two are right
- 29:58now. So Joshua saw him holding the
- 30:05Pro Wrestling Chaos title. I probably got that wrong.
- 30:11Also the New Wave Academy belt and the Rev Pro Undisputed
- 30:21title, while Rio holds the ICW Heavyweight title, the 4th Rope
- 30:31title which is over in America, and also the Pro Wrestling Eve
- 30:38belt. And the referee had the
- 30:44unfortunate job of trying to decide how to raise all six
- 30:49belts was had more gold than Mercedes Monet or to give it the
- 30:57Northwest treatment. Scott Oberman.
- 31:04Where do we go with this match it I have put this on the board
- 31:10of matches of the year because we were treated to this contest.
- 31:17This again, much like the kanji Omari, it's all very much mutual
- 31:27respect between both. Very quickly became competitive
- 31:34just due to their nature and then we just went all out
- 31:43assault between the two. Rio who does not truly give a
- 31:51shit who is who her opponent is. Whoever it's someone that's
- 31:59massive, someone that's short, whether they're a world champion
- 32:04or not, she does not care. Same could be applied to Joshua.
- 32:12Joshua is just an absolute beast but it's so quick as well.
- 32:21It's scary as he's match with Will Cruise at Progress in
- 32:28Manchester a couple of months shown they he is just a star in
- 32:34the making. Even with the title now, he's
- 32:39kind of career hasn't even got going yet in fairness.
- 32:46But this match was hard hitting, brutal.
- 32:54The power on display from both was incredible.
- 33:02Joshua Wine trying to taunt Rio with Mercedes Monet's CEO dance
- 33:11a fair few times. He done this the second time
- 33:15actually in front of Rio, just to kind of wind her up more.
- 33:23They fought on the ring apron. They I'm really not doing this
- 33:30much any justice at all at how good it was.
- 33:34There are clips online that have shown what's happened, but you
- 33:40really need to check this out when it becomes available
- 33:46because it is easily up there for match of the Year, so I'll
- 33:53leave that there. The finish though, so J Joshua
- 33:58hitting a crushing lariat on Rio, following it up with a
- 34:05cradle pile driver to take the pin.
- 34:10An incredible match. Those that were there were
- 34:13treated to something special. When it's uploaded, you will see
- 34:19exactly what we mean. It's it's one of the best
- 34:22matches I've seen this year. So credit to Spinebuster for
- 34:31putting on banging matches. And then we headed to a little
- 34:38interval and let us all breathe after what we had just saw.
- 34:51The second-half saw Bridge Pro taking over and we began with a
- 34:57six person tag match as the cheeky little buggers in Alexis
- 35:03Falcon and Charles Crowley saw them being joined by the admired
- 35:10Joe Blazer as they took on the team of Simon Miller and 0 to
- 35:17heroes in the Speed Demon, Edgar Adams and the Skywalker in Nate
- 35:24Riley. This was, you know, this was a
- 35:33good little match. I don't know how long it went on
- 35:36for. It didn't seem it went too long,
- 35:41but it was really kind of the character.
- 35:51It was really a match. It felt for like Falcon and
- 35:54Crowley to just make him look even more ridiculous and equally
- 36:02funny but sinister at the same time.
- 36:06Alexis shouting to Simon how his balls are, having had a match
- 36:11against Miller a few months ago where she low blown Simon about
- 36:16four times. So those those things he calls
- 36:22balls must surely be healed now. But it was a fun little match
- 36:28that this was an interesting one because you had Falcon and
- 36:36Crowley who were winding up Miller.
- 36:40Blazer seem to be trying to wind up Miller.
- 36:43And the two that felt almost lost in this contest were Adams
- 36:50and Riley. I mean the match itself, they
- 36:55were equal to anyone in the match, but it felt very much
- 36:59like cheeky little boogers and blazer against Simon.
- 37:05It felt a bit like a handicap match in a sense.
- 37:10But Adams and Riley are two incredible wrestlers, very high
- 37:17flying, great to watch, especially when they go up
- 37:23against each other as well. Because we saw a bit of
- 37:28dissension a couple months ago. I'm trying to remember what I
- 37:34think. It was a scramble match and I
- 37:37believe Riley hit a move and Adams pushed Riley out and
- 37:43pinned. I think it was that Walker and
- 37:48Riley was not too happy with his with his tag partner.
- 37:53So he saw a bit of dissension there, but obviously things seem
- 37:57to have been patched up in Bridge at least.
- 38:04We then saw Miller getting the hot tag in this match, beating
- 38:10up everyone, but really it was more the the end of the closing
- 38:17stages of this contest where Miller got knocked to the
- 38:23outside. Falcon and Crowley then saw
- 38:27Christmas come early when they began to use Christmas tape and
- 38:32wrapping paper, taping Miller to the ring part and then just for
- 38:39some reason just wrapping Miller up in wrapping paper because why
- 38:47not I suppose which just watching the match going on and
- 38:53then wrapping Simon up was a weird thing to watch.
- 38:59But after they've done so, it's on Nate Riley getting caught by
- 39:03Joe Blaser. We then had Falcon and Crowley
- 39:07hitting their double team, which is a unique name for this move
- 39:15in the spinning spit roast. Falcon and Crowley win the
- 39:21match, Simon was being taunted by Blazer and the cheeky little
- 39:28buggers could not get himself free from all.
- 39:32The tape then powers out and saw everyone abscond from the ring.
- 39:40So it was a it was a fun little match to be fair.
- 39:46We then came to one of the two bangers on the show, the Bridge
- 39:54Grant, also the Bridge Pro Grand Title, with the champion Brandon
- 40:00Jordan facing Liam Jones who was the number one contender.
- 40:08Again, so much happened in this contest, but it began with Jones
- 40:18using his wrestling technical knowledge.
- 40:23Jordan having to use quickness and fast-paced offence to kind
- 40:28of negate anything that Jones was doing.
- 40:34Then from there it was just magic from these two, both
- 40:41hitting moves after move, Jones hitting strong offence, one
- 40:50being an absolute lariat that nearly took Jordan's head off.
- 40:54It was brutal, Jordan just trying to survive this match at
- 41:03times but when he was able to use his quickness he used it to
- 41:08good effect, tried to target the arm of Jones so he wasn't able
- 41:16to do too much. Again something I really enjoyed
- 41:21in this match and Jones really selling it.
- 41:27The match in the end finished with Jordan reversing a pile
- 41:32driver which was right by the ropes, turns into a victory roll
- 41:39but holds on to the middle rope as he pins.
- 41:43Jones claiming an absolute thriller.
- 41:49Jones just looking down at Jordan who was on the outside
- 41:54after the bell with a face of not a very happy person, not
- 42:02happy with the result and how he won it.
- 42:06Jordan, who seems to be getting a bit of a swagger going now
- 42:12with this brand new title. Honestly, this.
- 42:20I can't express how enjoyable this match was.
- 42:26It was almost like they were trying to compete against the
- 42:32Joshua real match. Both of them two were easily the
- 42:38best two matches, while nothing against the other matches.
- 42:44These two absolutely kind of it was almost like AI mean.
- 42:53I don't mean Brandon Jordan here.
- 42:55It was almost a Michael Jordan match in the sense of they saw
- 43:00how Rio and Joshua was and how great it was and they took that
- 43:06personally and thought, right, we're going to go out and
- 43:09surpass that. And I don't know if they
- 43:13surpassed it. They definitely equalled it for
- 43:18enjoyment, entertainment and telling a good story in the
- 43:23ring. I really hope they run this back
- 43:26somewhere, whether it's another title match or later in the
- 43:33year. I love Liam Jones.
- 43:37I think he's one of the most underrated people in British
- 43:44wrestling right now. Why he does not get bucked
- 43:51elsewhere I on more shows I will never know.
- 43:55He you, you look at him and you just think it's going to be
- 44:01power move. But he is as agile as a cat,
- 44:08which makes him even more dangerous I feel.
- 44:14Really love his technical ability.
- 44:17It's one thing that draws me more towards watching his
- 44:21matches. It's like while you can have all
- 44:23the flips and high flying and wrestling things, sometimes
- 44:30technical wrestling is so much better than kind of, I want to
- 44:38say run-of-the-mill, but that's not fair to say like traditional
- 44:43wrestling. Like you see now what American
- 44:46style, but Jones can have strong style.
- 44:52He can use European style and old fashioned British kind of
- 44:59twisting you in knots. Love these two.
- 45:02Brandon I love as well. It feels like they're going
- 45:06heelish with him and I think that will work so well for
- 45:11Brandon because he just has a slight aura about him of being
- 45:21healish, winning the belt and thinking that he is better than
- 45:28everyone. I think that will work so well
- 45:32during this title reign. But yeah, this match loved it,
- 45:37loved it, loved it, and brings us finally to our main event,
- 45:45which was to crown, in a sense, a new number one contender for
- 45:52the Bridge Pro Grand title. And there were 24 entrants in
- 46:00this contest. So I have made little notes.
- 46:05The things that were of interest are kind of made bullet points,
- 46:13I suppose, or highlights of the match.
- 46:16So match. So entrant number one was Alex
- 46:21Dean, who I think is still a acting GM at Bridge Pro or part
- 46:28GM. He came out.
- 46:31Number two was Santa Parrot Ryan Parrot, the owner of Bridge Pro.
- 46:40He came out in a Santa costume, had the entire crowd on his side
- 46:45because no one likes Dean. Parrot then performed a karate
- 46:52chop to the balls of Dean, which we all enjoyed if truth be told.
- 46:58However, entrance free and four were members of the Exile pack,
- 47:04that being Alex Connors and and Luke Douglas.
- 47:11They beat down Ryan Parrot alongside Alex Dean.
- 47:18Parrot I believe is the first man thrown out of this rumble.
- 47:26Dean was celebrating and going mad.
- 47:29However, the 5th entrance was Steve Valentino, the people's
- 47:35Captain. He just stared at Dean when he
- 47:40was celebrating. Dean chopped him a couple of
- 47:44times, had no effect on Valentino.
- 47:50Steve then trying to get the crowd to get more vocal and
- 47:55shouting one more time to be chopped by him.
- 48:00The chops were not effective at all.
- 48:04Valentino then going ah, so this two handed shop to Dean which
- 48:09echoed through that room. Entrance 6 was I think it was
- 48:16Chicago Desai. I've accidentally chopped off
- 48:22the second name so I apologise. Entrance 7 was then TJ Rex.
- 48:30Entrance number 8 was JC who grabbed the microphone and run
- 48:37the crowd down cutting a promo to say how great he was.
- 48:43I think he low blow TJ Rex at one point saying this is your
- 48:47guy see what I do now kicks him in the balls.
- 48:54Entrant 9 was Chantelle Jordan, she shut up.
- 48:58JC then saw her hitting seniors offence because apparently she
- 49:06was seen as favourite wrestler when she was over in America a
- 49:12couple of weeks ago with also a fair few members of the British
- 49:17wrestling scene, Hyperactive being two of them.
- 49:23Have to get that in being a huge Hyperactive fan.
- 49:29So she hit the running shoulder, blocks that Cena does hit the
- 49:35five knuckle shuffle and hit an AA on Valentino.
- 49:43We then had Cameron. But I haven't, I've lost.
- 49:48Why on earth I haven't got surname I do not know, so I will
- 49:53apologise in advance or I can just try and see if I can find
- 50:00the names. So I'll just talk amongst you.
- 50:04Cameron Anderson so he came out at #10 #11 was the future Zack
- 50:14Walker #12 was Edgar Adams and saw him eliminating both members
- 50:22of the Exile pack with, if you've seen my Instagram story,
- 50:29Alex Connors almost falling on my lap as the inquisitor did
- 50:37very well not to fall on my lap and not the phone out, but the
- 50:43look of astonishment on his face kind of told the story there.
- 50:50Number 13 was the moon age Daydream in Brad Osbourne. 14
- 50:57was Chris Angel, 15 was Jodie Scott, 16 was Joe Blazer who
- 51:06came out in a very fetching Christmas kind of get up and did
- 51:13not look pleased to have to strip off at ringside, but he
- 51:17did much to a few people in the crowds enjoyment.
- 51:23A friend of mine certainly enjoyed seeing Joe strip, but a
- 51:28different podcast altogether. Jay Matthews was at 17 #18 to
- 51:36Holly Barlow Go on Hall she which obviously being the
- 51:42Scrappy Doo of British wrestling as I like to call her, who does
- 51:49not realise how kind of small she is.
- 51:53But has the biggest heart of anyone.
- 51:57Went straight to Brad Osborne who was the tallest in the ring,
- 52:03nearly eliminates him as well. So that I think we can all tell
- 52:10where my heart was in this contest #19 was Dave Atlas 20?
- 52:19Was Alexis Falcon 21? Was the red headed Rascal in
- 52:27Samuel Hughes, 22 Was Haz Hype 23?
- 52:33Was Nate Riley and we got to the final man being Charles Crowley,
- 52:41the incredible twat that he is. Then things really began to very
- 52:54quicken at the end as Crowley came in.
- 52:58Holly kind of. How can I describe this?
- 53:05She tried to flex her muscles and make herself as big as
- 53:12possible. Crowley wasn't that bothered.
- 53:17Put poor old Barlow in an aeroplane spin, put his hand out
- 53:23for a high 5 Holly after she kind of stopped spinning round,
- 53:30went to high 5 Crowley and just fell flat on her face.
- 53:34Really funny it has to be said. Crowley then unfortunately threw
- 53:42Barlow out of the ring, the bastard.
- 53:47We then saw Nate Riley going over the top rope when Riley
- 53:51tried to take Crowley out. Charles just looks over the top
- 53:56row laughing and pointing. However, Crowley's laughing at
- 54:03Nick's misery saw him falling foul of Chantelle Jordan who
- 54:09eliminated Crowley and saw Holly Barlow crotch chopping and
- 54:17giving him the V's. When I shown that clip to Holly,
- 54:23she I don't know if it was a case of Oh my God, what am I
- 54:27doing, but equally laughing because it was so comedic.
- 54:34Then she kind of pushed Charles in the in the chest and dashed
- 54:37off shit out of the highest order.
- 54:41Well done, well done. Holly Jordan was then thrown out
- 54:46by Falcon I believe and so we were left with the final two in
- 54:52the contest, this being the red headed Rascal Samuel Hughes and
- 54:59Alexis Falcon. A callback or maybe not a
- 55:05callback of the Queen's Catch stable because at one time
- 55:11Hughes was Falcons confidante in the Queen's Catch.
- 55:19That all fell to pieces earlier in the year when use lost to TJ
- 55:25Rex in what was one of the best matches at Bridge.
- 55:30This year in the no holds barred match at brand new level, not a
- 55:41whole lot went on in the ring. They then found themselves over
- 55:48the top rope on the ring apron, Hughes hitting forearms, Falcon
- 55:55taking them, blocking the final one, holding his arm and spat in
- 56:02the face of Hughes. Now you hitting her trademark
- 56:06laugh and saying you're nothing without me.
- 56:11OK, I have to do this because if I don't pencil in Nikki will
- 56:15hate my guts. So obviously Falcon blocks the
- 56:22arm of Hughes and goes you're nothing without me.
- 56:27Obviously in a Yorkshire accent I can't do it because I have a
- 56:29sore throat and that's my thing and I'm sticking to it.
- 56:36So this then led to Hughes picking up Falcon hitting the
- 56:42dead eye on the ring apron. Falcon slowly tumbles like a
- 56:50slinky from like Toy Story. Of those that used to come down
- 56:55the stairs, Falcon slowly kind of sinks onto the floor.
- 57:04Samuel used wins this Rumble match and is now the number one
- 57:11contender. Great to see Samuel Hughes
- 57:15picking up this win. I think in recent times we've
- 57:21tried to see him building him as like a one of the kind of like
- 57:28baby faces. And I think it's not fully
- 57:33clicked, but we've seen improvement every single time.
- 57:41But so we are going to get Samuel Hughes and Brandon
- 57:46Jordan, which if you've seen these two, you will know this
- 57:50will be an absolute banger with these two.
- 57:54I love both them. Samuel Hughes has really grown
- 57:57on me sort of like show after show after show.
- 58:03Jordan, we kind of know Jordan. It's it's set up to be an
- 58:10absolute classic I feel next year and I can't wait for it.
- 58:16If truth be told. After the match though, it then
- 58:21saw Miller McKenzie coming out and the entire locker room.
- 58:27Well, the good side of the locker room at least as they all
- 58:33got in the ring. Ryan Parrott then cut a it
- 58:38wasn't a problem. He gave a heartfelt speech
- 58:41talking about Millie which set her off to it.
- 58:46She did say she was probably going to cry at one point and
- 58:49she was accurate. Parrot then gave her a bunch of
- 58:53flowers. Everyone wanted a speech from
- 58:56Millie which she did. So I will play that speech now
- 59:05and this is what was said. Millie.
- 59:10Millie. From.
- 59:12All of us, we want to extend our biggest thank yous for all
- 59:16we've. Done not just for village, but
- 59:19for every company in the Midlands, in the country, in the
- 59:23world, at the loudest old million attending champion you
- 59:30have ever done in your entire lives.
- 59:32Let's. Go.
- 59:57Speech, Speech, speech, speech. Go on Billy, thank you.
- 1:00:02I have nothing that was to say with them.
- 1:00:04Thank you so much, I'm so grateful.
- 1:00:06I hope you all enjoyed the show and I hope to see you back here
- 1:00:09everyone. Thank you Andy, thank you and
- 1:00:11thank you everyone. Thank you all of you and
- 1:00:14supports by Ministers Club Bridge.
- 1:00:16The next show here is the 6th of March.
- 1:00:35Not a dry eye in the building That completes what happened at
- 1:00:44Holiday Havoc. An absolutely amazing show as
- 1:00:49always when associated with Bridge Pro.
- 1:00:54I look forward to going back there in March.
- 1:00:58I believe it's March the 6th because it feels like they're
- 1:01:02going for a slightly mature show for this one.
- 1:01:08So they're being a bit more daring, which I I mean, I'm
- 1:01:13going to enjoy how they work this because it's their shows
- 1:01:19are like family friendly but not family friendly.
- 1:01:24So they've never claimed it family friendly but I am looking
- 1:01:30forward to their next show which as I try to kind of waste a bit
- 1:01:38of time. Not that you'd ever know that
- 1:01:42I'm trying to waste time of course.
- 1:01:45But they have announced 2 shows. One, as I say is their next one
- 1:01:54and is brand new Level 3. I've done the 1st 2, so I'm
- 1:02:00looking forward to this one. So they've said they're
- 1:02:05returning next year with something really, really
- 1:02:08special. So I look forward to that.
- 1:02:12And then in May, on May 1st, I believe they have announced
- 1:02:19Exiled at the Wollaston Village Hall, which is a very small
- 1:02:30venue, but it's it has a charm about it.
- 1:02:36But yeah, that is officially now me done for show reviews.
- 1:02:43Thank you so much. If you have listened to every
- 1:02:46single one this week, God bless you.
- 1:02:52I've put a lot of effort this week to try and bring you as
- 1:02:56many review shows as I can. I've had a couple of nice
- 1:03:01comments, one or two from promotions over them, which I
- 1:03:06massively appreciate because anything I do, whether it's
- 1:03:11filming match highlights or these podcasts, are always meant
- 1:03:16to be to promote promotions and put the name out there.
- 1:03:23While I may be very critical and may RIP into matches at times,
- 1:03:32it's never out of spite. It's just me being a fan.
- 1:03:37You can take it or leave it effectively.
- 1:03:41So luckily, touch wood, no one has had a problem or come for me
- 1:03:48yet, but we still have a few days left in this year.
- 1:03:55But yes that is all show reviews for 2025.
- 1:04:02Yeah sad, but I may try and put one out before New Year looking
- 1:04:09back at what's happened, favourite matches, wrestlers.
- 1:04:16So we'll see what happens as we are very close to Christmas now,
- 1:04:24about five hours away. Enjoy your Christmases, may they
- 1:04:35be white and merry. And whatever that whole thing
- 1:04:41is, have a very safe and pleasant Christmas.
- 1:04:48Enjoy it with families. Enjoy your wrestling if you're
- 1:04:54going to a show, but for now, at least in 2025 show wise.
- 1:05:03Thank you very much for taking the time to listen to any of my
- 1:05:07shows. This year is hugely appreciated.
- 1:05:12I can't stress how appreciated it is for the the men, the women
- 1:05:20and for all those in between that inside the squared circle
- 1:05:25and have reached out to me this year.
- 1:05:30Thank you. It genuinely means a lot to kind
- 1:05:36of get the approval of those I'm recording.
- 1:05:42Thank you. That's all I can say before I
- 1:05:46cry myself. But yeah, I look forward to
- 1:05:51seeing few of you next year or whenever I get the chance to to
- 1:05:58see any of my friends wrestlers, even just people that listen to
- 1:06:05this show and just enjoy the content I'm putting out.
- 1:06:10If you have any feedback to give, I am so open to it.
- 1:06:15I just want to help make this show good for no matter how long
- 1:06:22it runs for because it probably won't be a long time.
- 1:06:27But that said, socials PETA brads or sorry PETA bradders
- 1:06:36capital P capital B. You'll see the description down
- 1:06:41below anyhow, Instagram. I am bradders grappas.
- 1:06:47I have just I have just today alone set up a Brad's Grappers
- 1:06:57Twitter page, which is Brad's Grapps Capital B Capital G So if
- 1:07:07you want to give that a follow, I would appreciate it because I
- 1:07:12may possibly start using that more than my own personal one.
- 1:07:18But I'll still kind of retweet. Yeah, I don't think there's
- 1:07:25anything more to say other than Merry Christmas happy any other
- 1:07:35festivals that are going on because I know there are.
- 1:07:40Yeah. Just thank you so much for for
- 1:07:43this year alone. I can't really add to that other
- 1:07:49than give my other shows this week a listen.
- 1:07:55But for now, thank you for listening and I will see you
- 1:08:04next year.
