- 0:01Hey everybody, welcome to the good Morning from the Chicken
- 0:04Coop podcast. My name is Kim Johnson and I am
- 0:07a mastermindset, coach, creative strategist, and also happened to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day. To record a podcast to.
- 0:15Teach distinctions, possibilities, new ways of
- 0:18thinking, and just bring some joy.
- 0:20Into the. World.
- 0:21So welcome to the coop and let's start your day off in a
- 0:24fantastic way. Hey, everybody.
- 0:28Good morning. OK.
- 0:30How many times have you heard yourself say, I can't even
- 0:35imagine that this is the spot I would be in, Whether it's a
- 0:38positive or negative, there's a reinforcement in that in a clue
- 0:43as to what direction we need to be going in.
- 0:46So the first words you hear there is I can't even imagine,
- 0:50but that imagine is the clue. We reinvent ourselves repeatedly
- 0:56through our imagination. And when we don't reinvent
- 1:01ourselves through imagination and when we don't use it in a
- 1:03positive way, it does have a negative effect.
- 1:06I I'll be the first one to tell you because I can see it in
- 1:10everyone that I work with. If you're not using your powers
- 1:15for the greater good of yourself, they will turn on you.
- 1:19And I have like personal experience with my imagination
- 1:24teaming up with my anxiety and torturing me.
- 1:27So I have a very big imagination.
- 1:30I've always been told that since I was a kid staring out the
- 1:33window, hearing that people say come back from the clouds, get
- 1:37out of your imagination. Stop being a space person.
- 1:41You know, like all these little comments that my teachers would
- 1:43make. I mean, if you're a regular
- 1:45listener, you know, you've heard me say over the years that my
- 1:49teachers from 6th grade, 7th grade, 8th grade, I faced the
- 1:54wall because I asked too many questions.
- 1:56And I was always, you know, talking about, well, what if?
- 2:00Well, what if? Well, that's imaginative.
- 2:02That's living in your imagination.
- 2:04But when it's not utilized for the greater good, it can cause
- 2:09problems. It will imagine all the
- 2:11disasters. It will imagine the problems
- 2:13because it's trying to help you. And I used to hate it.
- 2:16I used to hate that part of myself and I because I didn't
- 2:19understand it. I didn't understand it at all.
- 2:22Well, this we get to this time of the year and you can hear in
- 2:26people as I'm talking to them as we're working through things and
- 2:29I'm seeing, OK, look, let's not set goals immediately.
- 2:34Let's just start off by possibilities, OK?
- 2:37This, and this is an actual exercise that I'm having
- 2:40everybody do create your list of possibilities.
- 2:44Before you even sit down to do goals, please make a list of
- 2:49possibilities. What interests you?
- 2:51I'm not saying we're going to drive it and use it, but what
- 2:54interests you? What are the things that give
- 2:56you a glimmer, a spark, or maybe it's a full blown bonfire, but
- 3:01what is it? What are the possibilities?
- 3:04And this is a really hard exercise for people because
- 3:08they're like, well, I mean, I don't know if I want that.
- 3:11And I'm like, Nope, Remember what I said?
- 3:12It's just possibilities and they can't get past that fact that,
- 3:17well, I have to assess it. I have to go through it.
- 3:20They're not letting their imaginations go and and have fun
- 3:25and run in the field of flowers in my head.
- 3:28And that's detrimental to your well-being, like detrimental to
- 3:33your well-being. It is something that's so
- 3:35important, so important to work on all the time.
- 3:40Growing your imagination, putting your imagination into a
- 3:43different headspace, putting your imagination out there so
- 3:47that you can feel that you have stretched it, that it is working
- 3:53for your greater good, Not just looking at the disasters that
- 3:57could possibly come up, because it can go in any direction.
- 4:01It's, it's like water. All right, let's think of it
- 4:04this way. Water is a life force in human
- 4:07beings and on this planet. It for everything we anything
- 4:10that's alive, it needs water. Anything that's an Organism, it
- 4:14needs water typically. I mean, there are obviously
- 4:17there are very few things that are out there scientifically
- 4:21that do not, but they thrive on something else, whether it's air
- 4:24or whatever, we they need water and it's again a life force.
- 4:31But what happens when there's too much water?
- 4:33There's death. So it's the exact opposite, life
- 4:36and death. If I over water a plant, it
- 4:38drowns and dies. And as humans, if we put
- 4:42ourselves in, you know, to water and we're breathing it in, we
- 4:47can die. But when we drink it, it not
- 4:49only sustains us, it makes us healthier.
- 4:52So think about your imagination the same way.
- 4:56It can be used for the greater good, sustaining something
- 5:00amazing for you and helping you grow, or it can be used for your
- 5:05demise. And when you start to do this
- 5:08exercise of possibilities, and I really want you guys to sit down
- 5:12and with a piece of paper and say, OK, what are my
- 5:15possibilities that I would love to invite into my world
- 5:20potentially for 2026? And that's it.
- 5:24It's not an exercise of am I going to do them?
- 5:28It's like, well, what would I potentially like to do?
- 5:30What are the things that interest me?
- 5:31Not picking them yet. I'm just making a list of
- 5:34possibilities. And it's very freeing and very
- 5:36exciting. When you actually put pen to
- 5:39paper and try it and do it. I promise you it unleashes
- 5:44things. Now you're going to hear the
- 5:45chatter that says. I don't know if I can do that.
- 5:47I don't know if that's going to work.
- 5:48Why would I even think of that? Put it aside and say right at
- 5:52the top of the paper, this is a possibility list.
- 5:56It's not a definite list. And free your mind up and your
- 5:59imagination and let's see where you go from there.
- 6:02All right, my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I
- 6:05will see you tomorrow. Bye.
