- 0:12Hello and welcome to Bratas Grappas episode Blank because I
- 0:20will fill this in at a later date.
- 0:23The only show in town that can't catch wrestle but can catch a
- 0:29wrestling goal. Joining me to relive Monday
- 0:34night at Gorilla is a friend of the show and by now a semi
- 0:40permanent Co host. Good evening, Miles.
- 0:45Good evening. Once again, we're.
- 0:48Seeing a lot of each other, it feels, and this weekend feels
- 0:52like it's going to be the same. Well, at least on Saturday.
- 0:56On Saturday. So as you can tell, this episode
- 1:02is mainly going to be featuring what happened on Monday night at
- 1:08Catch Pro Wrestling Attic's new venue at Gorilla.
- 1:16For those that don't know, it's literally facing the O2 Ritz
- 1:22just off Oxford Road in downtown Manchester.
- 1:28Before we get into the show, First off, how are we doing
- 1:36firstly tonight? Doing good, not too bad.
- 1:41Good to hear we could be in for a long night with what happened
- 1:46on this card and other things, so we will quickly try to get
- 1:53through it. But before that we will also ask
- 1:59you one question. What did you think of the venue
- 2:03itself? I'm not sure like the light in
- 2:09well, I found a light in, but like the actual venue space
- 2:12itself, great space. It's a little bit.
- 2:17It's like a bigger bread shed I feel like.
- 2:20Yeah, I've I heard Oggy on craps and claps say it's an upgrade on
- 2:28the bread shed. But I think to be fair, anything
- 2:34compared to the bread shed in terms of size wise is always was
- 2:40always going to be an upgrade anyhow.
- 2:43Just I mean, you could say the Deaf Institute, as big as that
- 2:49is, it was still smaller than the breadshed really, if you
- 2:53look at it that way. But I, I mean, I've been to
- 2:57Gorilla before, never though like a concert or like a gig.
- 3:05I did a meet and greet with William Regal there a few years
- 3:09ago and I kind of I liked the venue itself.
- 3:16So to actually see a wrestling show in there, it what it does,
- 3:22I feel that venue, it leads itself to have more people kind
- 3:27of come in. It gives it it now gives Catch
- 3:31more of a place to kind of get more fans in growth product
- 3:37because I think by the end of the breadshed run, it was almost
- 3:43getting a bit cramped just due to kind of how small and there's
- 3:51done a whole lot you could have done.
- 3:54But yeah, thumbs up for having it at Gorilla.
- 3:59Also, it's a bit easier to travel home as well.
- 4:03You're not having to well, in my case, you're not having to run
- 4:07near enough to the Apollo and get the bus.
- 4:11I can just easily walk Whitworth St and across Piccadilly and
- 4:19jump on the bus there. But I digress.
- 4:23Let's, let's just get into the matches because this I'm, I'm
- 4:29still smiling over this show because it's easily one of my
- 4:33favourite shows I've ever been to.
- 4:37Every match kind of did its job and more so.
- 4:44So we'll move to the opener, which was A tag team match with
- 4:53Tony Wright and Danny Proper taking on Northwest Strong's
- 4:59Keenan Krishna and Chris Ridgeway.
- 5:05What was what was your take on this Miles?
- 5:07This was a very very fun tag team match.
- 5:11Great storyline going into this match.
- 5:14Got carried on from last show when the Tony and Danny got
- 5:19taken out by Keenan and Chris. This was a like how would you
- 5:25put it? A good bastard versus goody tag
- 5:30team match. Like the heels in this match
- 5:35were on fine form, pretty much isolating Tony for like I'd say
- 5:41good 85% of the match. I enjoyed Chris's leg work in
- 5:47this match. He's seen a lot of like kicks to
- 5:50the leg because Oggy mentioned it on his podcast, he's noticed
- 5:55the leg work. I enjoyed Chris's dragon screws.
- 5:59They were perfect. They were on point.
- 6:02I think it's one of those things with Ridgeway, you almost feel a
- 6:06bit shortchanged if he doesn't pull the dragon screw out from
- 6:10somewhere in this match. But we also saw Ridgeway getting
- 6:16a bit high, flying, doing a a leap over the top rope, and I
- 6:24think it was hitting Tony. It might have been done.
- 6:27I can't remember fully, but this, this was a really, really
- 6:34good opener. I know a couple said it was a
- 6:41bit of a long opener. However, because of what had
- 6:47been going on, I think it was, I think this was needed to have
- 6:54this going quite a bit because you had writing Krishna, which
- 6:59is kind of bubbled, even going back to the hostile tournament
- 7:03where this all kind of kicked off from proper and Ridgeway got
- 7:10into it on the last show. And so now having kind of all
- 7:15four elements put together, it really made for a really fun
- 7:20bout. And then at the end of this or
- 7:25towards the back end of the contest, the closing stages, we
- 7:29saw the third member of Northwest Strong coming out,
- 7:34that being Teddy Ray. And I think with Krishna's
- 7:40obviously the the rule breaker, Ridgeway feels very much like
- 7:48he's not fully that way, but he's kind of like an inbetweener
- 7:53if you like. And Teddy Ray has always felt
- 7:59like the fan favourite. The best way I can describe
- 8:04Northwest Strong at the at that point in time was that meme of
- 8:10the Dragons with the three heads where you've got two of them
- 8:15kind of looking all business and everything, and one that's just
- 8:20pulling goofy faces. And I could put that one down as
- 8:24Teddy Ray to be to be fair, because he he didn't seem on the
- 8:30same page as them. But of course, when we get to
- 8:33the the end of this match, we find out that Northwest Strong
- 8:38are very much all on the same page again.
- 8:46Really fun opener. Teddy Ray comes out interferes,
- 8:52knocking Danny proper off the apron.
- 8:56Tony Wright looks at Teddy Rain, almost despair at why he's come
- 9:02out on what he's done. This all concludes with Dean and
- 9:09Krishna and Chris Ridgway going to hit a total elimination style
- 9:15move as I've got it, much like Kronos and Perry Satin used to
- 9:21hit in ECW as the eliminators. The first attempt did not fully
- 9:30go to plan, however they read they did it a second time
- 9:35because the first time had kind of like half the effect, but
- 9:40hitting it fully had maximum effect which sees Tony Wright
- 9:46staying down for the 123. NW Strong are your winners
- 9:54again. Really fun match, really solid
- 9:58opener, and it really did set the tone for what we're going to
- 10:03get for the rest of this show. Spoiler.
- 10:07It was an absolute banger of NHL match #2 and I'll, I'm going to
- 10:18say this near enough for every match.
- 10:20I love this match a lot and it saw Henry Faust taking on deck.
- 10:29McCarthy, what was what was your view on this one?
- 10:36Jesus Christ, this match when like from the first minute, the
- 10:44chop Henry Faust to deck and it just split his chest open like
- 10:48the very first chop, I was just like, this is where we're going
- 10:52for the whole show. Like Henry Faust is a guy that
- 10:57personally I've not seen too much of.
- 10:59I think I've seen one, maybe two of his matches live.
- 11:04But yeah, this dude's awesome. Like, I look, Henry Faust, he's
- 11:08got a great Moosa and the fact that he was going up against the
- 11:12bigger guy in big deck and he was like fully into the match.
- 11:17Like at points I thought that one was going to lose.
- 11:21Like he had that one on the ropes.
- 11:23Like he was just all over him. Like just yeah.
- 11:30It made me love the start of it. Everyone just cheered for Henry
- 11:35and then Vouchers doing like a little jig to himself and then
- 11:41about 5 seconds later just performs an absolute stiff open
- 11:48hand chop to Debt McCarthy's chest and from then on you knew
- 11:54oh shit is going down. To which Henry Phelps is a big
- 12:02fan of Japanese wrestling and strong style.
- 12:07Debt McCarthy is great at technical wrestling, but it's
- 12:13equally good at brawling. So this when you look at it, it
- 12:20goes hand in hand. It's with deck style and Henry
- 12:25style. It's it's almost strong style as
- 12:28it is anyhow. But Faust with his kind of
- 12:32educated feat, McCarthy, who would use more the technical
- 12:39side of things. And I mean Faust chops to deck
- 12:46and then his penalty kick on the outside to McAfee, who it looked
- 12:54like it caught him flush in the jaw on one of the pictures I
- 12:57took. And you could hear the normally
- 13:02when you hear a kick on the outside, it doesn't sound kind
- 13:07of like that that loud, but you could you could hear this quite
- 13:12loud. And then debt replied with huge
- 13:17uppercuts showing kind of all these technical moves.
- 13:22Faust almost relied on his feet to do all the talking as as a
- 13:29pics were Henry's friend McAfee always seems to have an ace up
- 13:34his sleeve. Faust then hits almost like a
- 13:39Michinoku driver on deck which locked an awkward landing.
- 13:47A deck gets a 2 count from it, just Henry, and in the end it
- 13:54sees McCarthy picking up the victory.
- 13:59I did write what the finish is called and I can never remember.
- 14:05I think I remember, but I don't know if it's 100% Morgan's call
- 14:12or is it Morrigan's call? It's along them lines.
- 14:17Declan, if you're listening, I apologise.
- 14:19He's don't beat me up. It's one one of them ones.
- 14:25I've I've literally spent all all the last three hours
- 14:32scrolling back all videos to try and find move names and no
- 14:37commentator mentions. I actually wrote a piece last
- 14:41year where I absolutely wrote it and I can't get into the the
- 14:46login, so I can't find it. But what you've said is it is
- 14:53one of them. So again, apologies.
- 14:57We we, we apologise, please don't kill us, but deck wins.
- 15:08Really really enjoyable contest. I'm interested to see now where
- 15:16we kind of go with both these men.
- 15:20Really hoping Faust comes back because I've seen Faust a few
- 15:25Times Now, mostly when I've been to watch N wrestling.
- 15:31The first time I saw Faust I didn't kind of get him too much,
- 15:38wasn't sure what he was about. The more I've seen him the more
- 15:42I've grown to just like love his style and love watching him in
- 15:46the ring. So hopefully, if capture or
- 15:51watching this or listening, please get Henry on more and
- 15:57I'll leave it at that match #3 Troy Ryan, Brady Phillips.
- 16:07Miles Beef, beef and more beef. The battle of the shredded,
- 16:17shall we say. Which man has the bigger ABS?
- 16:23That's the question for you. Who has the bigger ABS, Troy
- 16:27Ryan or Brady Phillips? See, this is difficult to to
- 16:37answer because I think Ryan's got more leaner and I think
- 16:45Phillips has filled out a bit more with kind of like bulking
- 16:50muscle. So I'd say equally because I
- 16:56think they're both going for different.
- 16:58I think Ryan's trying to slim down almost in a kind of like a
- 17:04cruiserweight and Phillips is just a heavyweight.
- 17:10But he's both are in great shape.
- 17:13You can't take that away from from either.
- 17:18But I love the the first notes I've got.
- 17:24It's just basically meaty chops meaty.
- 17:32Sounds like the match. I mean, we started off with both
- 17:38of them just trying to just chop as much meat as they could.
- 17:45I will say this though, the first few chops in this match
- 17:49Brady had the advantage. Well and truly it was like when
- 17:55Ryan chopped, they didn't make much of A sound when braided on
- 18:02the first few. Dear God, they reverberated
- 18:06around Gorilla. And then later on, Ryan then
- 18:14began to do his own chops, and they were equally as loud,
- 18:19perhaps even better because they were right on the far end on the
- 18:23actual stage at Gorilla. The match itself, as notes,
- 18:35Brady dominates for a large part of it, hitting some really
- 18:41vicious lariats, forearms across the face of Ryan, German
- 18:47suplexes, amazing strength. At one point when he was going
- 18:53to do a powerbomb, lost his grip momentarily.
- 18:59And to have the size of Troy Ryan and then still have the
- 19:07composure to regain control and then actually hit the powerbomb.
- 19:13I mean, hitting a powerbomb on Ryan is impressive.
- 19:18But to almost drop him because obviously kind of like sweat and
- 19:22everything to regain control and then hit him that that was
- 19:29arguably one of the best moves of of the night from that
- 19:34standpoint. The fight then moves to the
- 19:38outside. Ryan sees a wall whose eyes
- 19:43light up massively, especially with a crowd chanting wall.
- 19:49Almost kind of like having Vietnam flashbacks of Atomic
- 19:56doing it. So Ryan kind of froze Brady into
- 20:01the wall twice. At one point I thought he was
- 20:04going to go through the wall due to how it just moved, but as the
- 20:11get back into the ring. Troy hits a standing
- 20:16Frankensteiner, which sounds impressive enough, but we've
- 20:24Brady being on the top rope and Troy kind of running, then kind
- 20:31of doing a stopping and then hitting the Frankensteiner makes
- 20:35it all the more impressive. Then does these kind of big body
- 20:41check spot that I've put wall in the wrong place.
- 20:47The finish of the match, Ryan and Phillips get back into the
- 20:52ring. Greenwood gets knocked off the
- 20:56apron. This allows Phillips to look
- 20:59round. See Greenwood's not looking.
- 21:02Hicks Troy in the balls hits his.
- 21:06I've put pump handle spike again.
- 21:11I was trying to find what the move is called but I cannot find
- 21:14it anywhere, so apologies. Brady Phillips gets the win with
- 21:21the 123. Really really fun match and I
- 21:30believe Miles has a point. This finish, it actually got me.
- 21:35I didn't think it was like the plan to finish because it just
- 21:39looked like an actual accident. Like Greenwood when he was
- 21:44trying to get into the ring and then Brady's going for like the
- 21:47lariat, then he's like knocked him off the apron, like via the
- 21:51ropes. It looked like an actual
- 21:53accident. I was like, was that the
- 21:55intended finish? And after seeing Brady kick Troy
- 21:59in the balls, yeah, good finish. It actually got me good.
- 22:06I'll say this for catch. There are a couple of incidents
- 22:09on this show where you genuinely kind of thought to yourself is,
- 22:16is this planned? Is this actually happening or
- 22:20what's what's going on? That was one of them.
- 22:28I'll, I'll ask your take on this because I've what's your take on
- 22:32Brady Phillips as or character wise?
- 22:38I enjoy Brady Phillips's character, he's just this cold
- 22:43evil, just gives no shit, just will.
- 22:48If he doesn't like you, if he's got an issue with you, he will
- 22:52beat the piss out of you. But that is just Brady to a tee.
- 22:56I I've seen Brady quite a few times from like my very first
- 23:02indie show. Any time I see Brady Phillips,
- 23:07he's just such a fantastic heel. I could not see Brady working
- 23:13face. I do not envisage Brady Phillips
- 23:17as a face. Like it just doesn't work.
- 23:22He's probably a good face. Like I've not seen a great
- 23:25Facebook. He's just this cold bastard as a
- 23:31heel and I love it. It's I've always seen Philips a
- 23:37very select few times, kind of first saw him in Sov Pro, then
- 23:43saw him at kind of GPW and now at Catch which watching films.
- 23:53If I was now given like name your top five heels on shows
- 24:01you've you've been to, I would easily put Brady Phillips in the
- 24:06top three easily because he's that good.
- 24:14I will bring up this. It's a slightly funny story,
- 24:19John, that we know that always wears a Bolton shirt and attends
- 24:25kind of cat shows. We'll do the future shock show.
- 24:29We have this ongoing laugh that every time Brady Phillips comes
- 24:35out that John will always be the first person to kind of like
- 24:41meet Brady and have Phillips just talking trash to him, bad
- 24:46mouthing him. On this occasion when Phillips
- 24:50came out, John kind of walked towards the front expecting the
- 24:55abuse. Brady, however, decided to have
- 25:00a go at someone else. And then John came up to me
- 25:05afterwards. He went you venue means it's got
- 25:09to be someone else he has to have a go at now.
- 25:11He went. Oh well, I enjoyed the job while
- 25:14I had it, which did make me laugh.
- 25:20But yeah, this, this was a really fun match.
- 25:25Loved watching Philips Ryan as a single star A few.
- 25:31I think more people are now getting to see the Ryan I've
- 25:37seen on quite a fair few shows now because I think a lot still
- 25:41seem as A tag wrestler because they haven't saw much of his
- 25:45single stuff. If you've seen him in Salford
- 25:50and kind of what LWF stuff he's done, he has been really fun to
- 26:00watch, especially being the the rule breaker on those shows.
- 26:09So seeing him now becoming more of a single * it's interesting
- 26:17where what he can do moving forward now because there's
- 26:27there's a lot of potential and what he can do as a singles
- 26:32participant. So there's there's a lot of
- 26:36different avenues he can go down, which I'm excited to see
- 26:41what happens in the coming months and years.
- 26:47We finish the first half with the G Mac Championship with Sam
- 26:55Bailey challenging Big T Justice.
- 27:01What were your thoughts on this encounter?
- 27:06Again another solid match, great title defence for Big T Sam
- 27:10Bailey coming in on his debut in Catch Pro giving Big TA.
- 27:15Solid match with some suspect tactics shall we say, getting
- 27:23the his trainees involved which got a little little chant of
- 27:30future shit. Didn't fully get over what a few
- 27:35of us were chanting future shit but.
- 27:38Bless you for trying though. I get this.
- 27:45Well I'll I'll say the only slight nitpickity I'll say on
- 27:50this I'm not. I have heard a couple say the
- 27:53same thing but at the same time does not take away from this
- 27:57match whatsoever. So we start off with some
- 28:04slapping big T in the back of the head.
- 28:08T then grabs hold of Bailey, throws him into the corner,
- 28:13shops him. However, Bailey was wearing a
- 28:19chest protector which felt very D low brown from back in the
- 28:24attitude era. There were a few people were
- 28:29shouting T MU shield. So I think that kind of gauges
- 28:35where people's up to date knowledges.
- 28:41As soon as I saw him, I thought deal O brown, but that just
- 28:44proves I'm old. We then saw T RIP off that chest
- 28:49protector. Ideally I felt he should have
- 28:54kept this on a bit longer, at least because of it.
- 28:59The longer it stayed on, when it finally came off and he would do
- 29:05like the chop, I think that would have been got a better or
- 29:12bigger cheer than it did when he actually ripped it off.
- 29:16Again just just my take on that. T then chops ref shoe Davis.
- 29:27This leads to Bailey going on the outside where he has members
- 29:34of the Future Shock PC. Notable names were Doctor
- 29:39Proctor and Bong were a couple of others.
- 29:44They then put a beat down on Big T.
- 29:49That was until he then fought back, taking them all down.
- 29:55T gets back into the ring with the referee still face down.
- 30:01Bailey then from somewhere has a police baton, but I suppose that
- 30:07ties in with him having a flap jacket on.
- 30:13Uses it on the knee of Big T then pretty much does what any
- 30:20good wrestler would do. Focuses in on the injured body
- 30:23part. He then hits a chop on Bailey,
- 30:30throws Bailey with multiple Irish whips and avalanche
- 30:35splashes in the corner. Bailey then hits a hidden blade
- 30:41on Big T with the champion in Big T Justice landing a huge
- 30:49spinning boss man slam as I've put to retain the title.
- 30:57One massive thing I will say about this show, and I love
- 31:03Catch Pro for doing it because you don't get it on every show.
- 31:09When people worked on a body part, the ones that were having
- 31:16holes applied to it actually made out that they were
- 31:23struggling with it and it wasn't a case of working on safer
- 31:30instance, Big T having his leg worked on.
- 31:33It wasn't a case of he spends 90% of the match getting his leg
- 31:39worked on and then he's doing springboard punches and all kind
- 31:47of like running moves when you've literally just had your
- 31:51leg smashed to bits and everything.
- 31:55It is one of my biggest bug bears watching shows where body
- 32:05parts get worked on and then the wrestlers that have that limb
- 32:10particularly worked on completely forgot that's what
- 32:13they've had done to it and it's almost like they've fully
- 32:16healed. It's like The Wolverine.
- 32:21So big thumbs up because it actually makes it feel more
- 32:27realistic and actually keeps to if you work on something, they
- 32:35should be in trouble. If they if you work on the leg,
- 32:38they shouldn't be able to walk because you've been focusing on
- 32:42it too long. So that's just one of my little
- 32:48rants. I thought I'd say on that
- 32:51because I got into a not an argument, but I got into a
- 32:56massive debate with someone over this and we both came to the the
- 33:02same appreciation of when wrestlers actually choose to
- 33:07kind of. I don't want to use the the
- 33:11term, but I suppose I have to honest, they actually have to
- 33:14sell like the injury that they've got and they actually
- 33:19remember that. Oh yeah, I have an injured body
- 33:22part that I will have to kind of sell and make up.
- 33:24I am injured with it. Yeah.
- 33:30I don't know if you agree with that, but I'm just going off on
- 33:34a rant there. Yeah, no, I agree with it.
- 33:38You get in like your arm injured and your leg injured and then
- 33:41next minute you pulling like a 450 moonsault like out your ass
- 33:45like. Yeah.
- 33:47Yeah, OK. It's, I know what Joe said it
- 33:53last week of you have to disbelief certain things.
- 33:58I don't mind having my imagination and disbelieving
- 34:04things, but I want them to make sense.
- 34:09That's all I want anyway. We then went for the interval
- 34:18and immediately coming back from the interval, we had a brawl at
- 34:24ringside. I, I was chatting to Oggy at one
- 34:32at this particular point because Mark Adams just got back into
- 34:36the ring, welcomed everyone back to the second-half and and at
- 34:42the corner of my eye I saw two people fighting due to the
- 34:48lights as well that were kind of blinding us for a good chunk.
- 34:54I didn't know it was Eitan Scene and Ian Skinner.
- 34:58I thought it was actually 2 fans fighting to begin with.
- 35:04Obviously it was Eitan scene and Ian Skinner where Skinner I
- 35:11believe has a as he has a restraining order against Steen
- 35:19I believe because originally the plan yes it was supposed to be
- 35:26Steen and Skinner for this. Oh I should also mention, so I
- 35:31haven't done this was the 6th anniversary show for Catch.
- 35:38I forgot to start with that. So many congratulations on your
- 35:47anniversary. But yes, Steen and Skinner
- 35:52should have been one of the matches on this card that then
- 35:59changed and the matches were going to be Eitanstein versus
- 36:06Lucic and Ian Skinner against Kevin Lloyd.
- 36:14However, due to Steen and Skinner fighting and having a
- 36:21brawl at ringside and in the ring, it's our Skinner choking
- 36:28Steen with his own kind of like dog chain that was around
- 36:31Steen's neck. Mark Adams and the referees all
- 36:35try and break it up and stop it. Eventually it might separate the
- 36:422. James Greenwood then grabs the
- 36:45microphone and informs an angry and blooded nose Steen that he
- 36:54is suspended for the rest of the night.
- 36:59Ian finds this hilarious and while he's laughing Greenwood
- 37:05says. I don't know what you're
- 37:06laughing at, Skinner, because you're suspended as well
- 37:10tonight, which then leads to Steen challenging Ian Skinner to
- 37:17a dog collar match next month. Colin Skinner here, Colin
- 37:24Skinner a bitch and Steen saying he's the original bitch.
- 37:29So it's going to say I don't particularly want to do a dog
- 37:34collar match. Greenwood then informs us that
- 37:38the Catch Pro Athletic Commissioner in Tombola informs
- 37:44Greenwood in his earpiece that the match has been booked and
- 37:49the next Catch Pro Wrestling show will feature Ian Skinner
- 37:56Ettenstein in a dark collar match.
- 38:03What's your take on that? I'm looking forward to this
- 38:08match because I'm not seeing Skinner in a proper like
- 38:13hardcore match. I know he's been doing death
- 38:16matches recently and he's like started going down more of the
- 38:20hardcore route. I know Ayton's will have Ayton
- 38:25loves anything hardcore and anything like any like sicko
- 38:30matches Ayton loves. So yeah, this is this is going
- 38:36to be 1 to look out for, to see how they work in a dog collar
- 38:41match and like what stuff they're actually going to be
- 38:46able to do with the venue, what weapons, if they're going to
- 38:49bring any weapons to the match or is it just going to be a
- 38:52straightforward just dog collar match with no weapons?
- 38:56Like I'm looking forward to what they get up to.
- 39:01This as early as it is in the year, this has potential to be
- 39:08the best underrated match of the year that we might see because
- 39:15even though we know they can both go and we know what they
- 39:19can do when it's kind of like a stipulation match and especially
- 39:26a dog collar match, it's going to be interesting to see what
- 39:31they can do and what they can kind of bring out.
- 39:40But as soon as they kind of announce the dog column match, I
- 39:45think everyone that was there was instantly just rubbing their
- 39:49hands fingering. Oh, we're on.
- 39:52We're on to a good thing here now.
- 39:56One of the the best lines I heard from someone that was
- 40:02stood close close by when you had Stan in Skinner fighting.
- 40:10There was there was a female fan behind that was saying is, is
- 40:16this is this part of the show or are they actually shoot
- 40:19fighting? I'll be honest watching it.
- 40:28I think I went from thinking, oh, this is storyline, but some
- 40:33of the the actual blows looked very, very stiff and did even
- 40:40have me questioning thinking, oh, are they actually shooting
- 40:48properly here for a brief time as they were not holding
- 40:53anything back on those punches and kicks.
- 40:55I'll, I'll tell you now. So all those kind of like blows
- 41:03they were doing to each other and then announcing a dog collar
- 41:06match, I think definitely had a lot more interest going into
- 41:12that contest. But we, we look forward to it
- 41:19happening. Match #5 Kevin Lloyd, or shall
- 41:26we say sexy Kevin Lloyd taking on VUSIC.
- 41:31This was a technical master class.
- 41:38I'll let you speak on this. Yeah, like you said, Technical
- 41:43master class. Can't believe the announced Kev
- 41:47Lloyd from Wigan though. Warrington Hatch Management
- 41:54Anyway, my hometown guy, Kev Lloyd, yeah, Kev Lloyd is one of
- 42:01these guys where his wrestling style, it literally just fits
- 42:07him perfectly and like you can tell he is a veteran of the game
- 42:12like. Every.
- 42:14Move every lock, every lock up, every hold, every submission Kev
- 42:20Lloyd does. It just looks like it's hurting.
- 42:24Yeah. His opponent I this guy is a
- 42:31like the perfect technical wrestler.
- 42:35If you want to get into technical wrestling and like
- 42:39that's your style, just go look up Kevin Lloyd matches because
- 42:43he's the perfect example of a technical wrestler.
- 42:48Also you couldn't have put him in a in a better match with
- 42:52Lucic who equally any hold he puts on looks like it hurts as
- 42:59hell as well. And I've put down effects of
- 43:03I've almost gone Dean Malenko. Kind of WCW under rant here.
- 43:10Counter for counter, hold for hold, move for move.
- 43:16Neither man gave ground. It was a technical battle.
- 43:23I will say one thing though on you bringing up the Warrington
- 43:28Wigan thing, because he is associated with a snake Pit,
- 43:35which is mainly Wigan. I think that is why they've gone
- 43:40that route. So he probably still keeps his
- 43:46Warrington hometown. However, I think when it comes
- 43:52to wanting to be even more showing off his wrestling
- 43:58skills, mentioning the snake pit I think just has a bit more edge
- 44:04on Warrington personally. But the match itself, Lloyd hits
- 44:11a beautiful sit down powerbomb. Vusic hits some of the the most
- 44:19aggressive moves I've seen him put on anyone during this
- 44:27contest. Does a lot of stumps to the head
- 44:32of Kev while he's kind of face down.
- 44:36Ends up with him putting on a it's like a Boston crab but kind
- 44:43of crosses the legs again. One of those moves I'm trying to
- 44:49find the names out of and I'm in the process of trying to do it.
- 44:55I should really just ask. But one thing, and again with
- 45:01this match of counter wrestling, when one of them put a hold on
- 45:09that agonising and painful to watch, they always seem to be
- 45:15able to counter that particular move for an equally more
- 45:21devastating technical hold themselves.
- 45:27Because I think there's one where Lloyd has Vusic and hold,
- 45:32and then Vusic reverses it into a dragon sleeper.
- 45:38And then Lloyd kind of flips over and I think then puts Vusic
- 45:44in a dragon sleeper. It was just, I mean, if you love
- 45:49technical wrestling, this was easily one of the best matches
- 45:54to watch on a technical standpoint.
- 45:59I am probably more of a fan of technical wrestling than high
- 46:04flying these days, so this was kind of right up my alley.
- 46:11As I say, Vusic wins. Really good match for both men
- 46:19again. Interesting to see where we go
- 46:22with both these now. Again, I would not be against a
- 46:29a rematch with these two either. I think you could arguably do
- 46:34more some more technical wrestling, maybe like a like an
- 46:42Iron Man match or something like that with these two.
- 46:45Or even just a simple submission maps, yeah.
- 46:49Because I think with these two, I think it felt like it was just
- 46:54the tip of the iceberg with M2 in what they could do.
- 46:58But we'll we'll see what happens down the down the road.
- 47:04In your penultimate match of the night was for the Catch Pro
- 47:09title as the two Scots in Scotty Rock.
- 47:15The champion defended his title against the number one
- 47:21contender, Scott Olbermann. I will let you dissect this
- 47:30match before I give you my thoughts.
- 47:33There's quite a lot to dissect in this match.
- 47:35It was a tough match to watch. It was like he couldn't actually
- 47:43know who was going to win half the match.
- 47:45And when you're watching, it was like it was a brilliant match.
- 47:49Like both these guys work well together.
- 47:53I don't know how many times they've wrestled each other in
- 47:56the past or if they've actually wrestled each other before, but
- 47:59if that's like the first time, like they've actually went
- 48:03one-on-one together, It was a very, very good match.
- 48:07Like Scotty Rock going pretty much like 110 mph, doing a lot
- 48:15of like, high risk moves. I think he dove out into the
- 48:18crowd like 2-3 times maybe. Definitely.
- 48:23Yeah. Twice.
- 48:25He had Olbermann in the front row in the chairs and just like,
- 48:30beating the crap out of him on the chairs.
- 48:33Yeah. I think looking back on it now,
- 48:36I think Scotty Rock going that fast and like the way he was
- 48:44working a match, maybe I should have like realised he's doing
- 48:51this much is going to cost him the match because Scott was the
- 48:56working. Like I felt like Scott was
- 48:59working a lot slower compared to the way he usually works.
- 49:04Like he was very slow in all of his moves like that he was
- 49:10doing. Like he wasn't hitting him with
- 49:13as much pace and as much speed as Scotty Rock.
- 49:19I actually fit the opposite. I think Scotty was actually
- 49:24working. Oh sorry, I'll rephrase that.
- 49:27I'll say Scott because Scott the Scotty Rock and Scott Open.
- 49:32I think Scott was actually working quicker than normal
- 49:38because it was almost like he was keeping up with rock,
- 49:42whereas Oman is always very slow, methodical and will kind
- 49:47of like try to tie down piece by piece slowly.
- 49:53You can't really do that with Rock.
- 49:57Rock is a fast cat, but at the same time a couple of moves that
- 50:06Rock did the dive through the ropes to hit Olbermann.
- 50:14The more impressive 1 was the springboard off the top rope
- 50:19that just about hit Scott. I think that even surprised
- 50:25surprised himself and how far he actually went because Olbermann
- 50:29looked quite a fair distance back and he still nearly missed
- 50:33him. Part of when Rock had Olbermann
- 50:40set up in the chairs and told the crowd to hold him and Scott
- 50:46just telling the crowd I'll kill you all.
- 50:50Well, he's always being held back and chopped was was quite a
- 50:57funny moment. Olbermann in this was, I think,
- 51:05always looking for that one opportunistic kind of moment in
- 51:10the match to I think when he spotted that moment, he'd leap
- 51:16on it. Does he?
- 51:20He kind of did when he hit the spirit of the Blues and got A2
- 51:24count. But again, we make this point of
- 51:28when he hits the spirit of the Blues, he has to kind of fully
- 51:33do A twist and hit it for it to really have any devastating
- 51:39effect. Otherwise it doesn't seem to do
- 51:42much. But then hitting again, as you
- 51:49said, Scotty Rock going kind of like a mile a minute, nearly
- 51:55hitting the referee, which then led to Oberman hitting Ride the
- 52:01Lightning, which ended up winning the title, if I recall.
- 52:09I think that that kind of proved that being opportunistic and
- 52:16hitting at the right point proved to be the the key thing
- 52:22in this match really for Oberman.
- 52:26The match itself, it was a it was a great title match.
- 52:31You really did not know where this kind of contest was going.
- 52:35At one point, if our Oberman was going to win it, then it kind of
- 52:40swung back to rock and then it was very much on like a knife
- 52:46edge for the majority of the contest.
- 52:50That was until kind of like Oberman hit that ride the
- 52:53Lightning as a title match. I thought it it it did
- 53:00everything it had to No, nothing negative on it.
- 53:06It was a really fun contest. And now we have a new Catch
- 53:13champion and it's going to be interesting to see where
- 53:19Olbermann takes this title now, because if he can do what he did
- 53:25at Atomic for this title and make it as important as any
- 53:32other title in the Northwest, I think CATCH have definitely
- 53:39struck upon gold. Which brings us to your main
- 53:50event of the evening and was for the Catch Women's Championship.
- 53:59Lily Winter faced Lucy Sky where the stipulation if Lily did not
- 54:08defeat Lucy then she would go back to becoming a ring
- 54:15announcer at Catch. What were your thoughts on this
- 54:22contest or how did you see things?
- 54:26I seen the way the match was unfolded.
- 54:30I've seen I thought Lucy sky was going to retain There's a way
- 54:34like had Lucy belt in the match like how she kept getting ever
- 54:41so close to putting the freak out onto Lily.
- 54:44I thought like the amount of like near falls Lucy had on
- 54:49Lily. I I'm surprised she didn't get
- 54:52the pitfall. I the two the 2 sea sky chant
- 54:57that that champ was just over all much longer than it was.
- 55:03Just like it was getting to Lucy.
- 55:08She was getting so annoyed. It's I think the first time I
- 55:13heard that was oh God. I think it was the double header
- 55:20at Future Shock last year I think.
- 55:24Trying to remember what show it was back at the the Union
- 55:30because it was the same people that were doing the chant on
- 55:34Monday night that were performing it at Future Shop.
- 55:39And on that occasion it was like a slow burner and it did the
- 55:44same again. So she did have Oggy at one
- 55:49point come up. I did hear him come up to you
- 55:52anyway, you went miles. You, you know you're shit.
- 55:59What's all this 2 sea sky about? I did enjoy your your
- 56:06explanation on it, but it's just one of those fun things that
- 56:13fans can do that when they come out with a champ and it's not
- 56:20overkill and it doesn't ruin much.
- 56:23If anything kind of helps the match as well, which can't be
- 56:31all the same. Can't be said for something that
- 56:33happened at Tidal, which I will come to on a different podcast.
- 56:42But the match started originally.
- 56:45I I wanted to say it was a call back to an earlier an earlier 1
- 56:53when Lily Winter should have had the title originally and chose
- 57:00that she wanted to actually fight for the title as opposed
- 57:04to kind of wanting it to be handed to her.
- 57:10And if I remember right, I think Lucy hit her then with the title
- 57:14belt or hit her with something before the match and picked up
- 57:19the victory. So if if I'm remembering that,
- 57:26that's a good call back to this. But Lucy, Sky nails Lily with
- 57:33the title belt. Greenwood comes up to Lucy And
- 57:37just say what you're doing, what you're doing.
- 57:40Sky in that Wigan accent, just shouting ring the bell, get ring
- 57:47the bell now. Ring the bell now.
- 57:50Greenwood does not want to do it.
- 57:52Says to Lily, are you OK to continue?
- 57:55Winter says yes, I'm fine. Gets hit with a crushing spear
- 58:03off Lucy's Sky. Lucy thinks she's won it there,
- 58:07and then Lily kicks out. Sky is in total control really
- 58:14for the majority of this contest.
- 58:17I'd probably say about 80% of it.
- 58:21Lily continues to kind of survive and fight in this.
- 58:28Lily then thinks she's won the title when she hits a partial
- 58:33cold shoulder, but Lucy just gets her foot on the ropes.
- 58:39Before the free count, Lucy's kind of had enough of as she
- 58:46said the fans chanting to see Sky to her, which definitely was
- 58:54getting to her. She could not put Lily away
- 58:59every time she tried to do something.
- 59:01Winter would not stay down. Sky grabs the women's title,
- 59:08Greenwood stops her as them both kind of fighting over the belt.
- 59:15Eventually Winter spots Sky being distracted, hits the
- 59:21frostbite which is effectively the skull crushing finale for
- 59:26those that do not know, then hits the cold shoulder and gets
- 59:33the 123 to become the new catch women's champion to a rather
- 59:41loud pop from the crowd. A very fitting end to a catch
- 59:50anniversary show, having someone that's a in truth a catch
- 59:56regular that's fought from ring announcer through the card and
- 1:00:03now is champion of that promotion.
- 1:00:09If this was like AWWE or AW standard when?
- 1:00:18Kind of Lily poses on the on the middle Rd with the belt lofted
- 1:00:22up. You would have fireworks going
- 1:00:25off just to signify kind of like how big this was.
- 1:00:34I have to be said, this was a really good women's title match
- 1:00:40despite it being almost 1 sided. But again, I think that kind of
- 1:00:51way helped as well because of what was at stake.
- 1:00:55Lily, if she lost, would have been a thumb back down to being
- 1:00:59a ring announcer. So it felt very much like this
- 1:01:02was a case of Lily having to fight through adversity, staying
- 1:01:08in the contest, and then when she got a chance to kind of put
- 1:01:13Lucy away, she did so well. Most of the highlights you'll
- 1:01:19see feels like it was very much one sided.
- 1:01:23It was. But I think this was superb in
- 1:01:27how it all came together. And with that, it works so
- 1:01:32beautifully. And that's why it was one one of
- 1:01:37many great matches on this card. Honest, I've said it before,
- 1:01:46kind of wrapping up the this particular portion of the show,
- 1:01:53what are your final thoughts across the whole thing?
- 1:01:58It was a great way to welcome Catch Pro to the new venue.
- 1:02:01It was a good show from start to finish.
- 1:02:05Not one bad match, no bad moments throughout the show.
- 1:02:10Crowd was on fire. I it was a great show.
- 1:02:15Yeah. Good way to start the year.
- 1:02:19It's easily one of the best shows I've been to though in In
- 1:02:25truth. I've only really started going
- 1:02:28since like 2023, but from across all the shows I've been to
- 1:02:36there's never really been a show I've been to where from top to
- 1:02:42bottom every match has hit. Even when there's been a promo
- 1:02:48which could have potentially let it down.
- 1:02:52Even that build up and promo with Steen and Skinner was still
- 1:02:57on point. Everything they went for on
- 1:03:01Monday night hit and you can't say that about many shows.
- 1:03:08I don't even think you could say that for like a Progress or a
- 1:03:12Rev Pro show in Truth, but everything on this night I
- 1:03:19suppose they kind of went into it going to a new venue and
- 1:03:22wanting to just hit the ground running and make it an even more
- 1:03:31special occasion than apart from it also being their 6th
- 1:03:35anniversary show as well. Everything on this show just hit
- 1:03:40magnificently and would get about 5 chef kisses on how well
- 1:03:46everything just kind of like turned out.
- 1:03:50And it did leave you kind of looking forward for like when
- 1:03:54the next show actually happens because at the time of recording
- 1:04:01nothing has been announced as to kind of like when the next show
- 1:04:07is for catch Pro. I, I want to say it might be
- 1:04:14like April, maybe, maybe back end of March, who knows.
- 1:04:21But yeah, I, I genuinely can't wait for that, for that next
- 1:04:25show to happen. Hello, I'm Jay Sherman and this
- 1:04:31is coming attractions. And this coming weekend, we have
- 1:04:36three technically 4 big shows happening in the Northwest.
- 1:04:43On Saturday. We have attention turning to
- 1:04:48Liverpool and Hangar 34 where TNT hold 2 particular shows, one
- 1:04:59being the Ignition Rumble show where the card as I have it is
- 1:05:07Ian Skinner versus Denzel Mack, Joe Rage versus Bullet, Holly
- 1:05:16Barlow taking on Sky Smithson. A really much that I'm looking
- 1:05:24forward to see is for the TNT Ignition title, Luke Jacobs
- 1:05:31taking on Grichy. I feel we may get shenanigans in
- 1:05:38that. We shall see and concluding the
- 1:05:44show is a 20 person ignition Rumble match which tis Rumble
- 1:05:52season. And I think if you're a
- 1:05:57wrestling fan, whenever you hear like a rumble, you already get
- 1:06:02get giddy because it is one of the most fascinating and fun or
- 1:06:11stipulation matches there are. So we, we will we will see what
- 1:06:19we shall see. Meanwhile, later that evening we
- 1:06:25have Merseyside Massacre where the TNT Ultra X title will be
- 1:06:33defended with Shay Monet defending against Tom Felwell,
- 1:06:41Judas Grey and Scotty Rock. That has a potential to be one
- 1:06:50of the standout matches of the day, not necessarily the show
- 1:06:55itself. We have for the tag team titles
- 1:07:02a Monsters Ball encounter with the Temple of Mallam, that being
- 1:07:09Isaac North and Rob Drake as they take on Benjamin Holland
- 1:07:16and Jack Knudson in Act 2. So we will see if the Temple of
- 1:07:24Mallam are on the same page because the last time we saw
- 1:07:29them they were not particularly on the same page, but we'll see
- 1:07:36if they can put their differences to one side and
- 1:07:40become one again. This is 1 match I am looking
- 1:07:48forward to for different reasons.
- 1:07:51Leonardo Darwin taking on session of Moff Martino.
- 1:07:59I'm extremely looking forward to Darwin's entrance because I'm,
- 1:08:08I'm really interested to see what they come up with for their
- 1:08:14entrance on this occasion because the last couple that
- 1:08:20they've come out with has been interesting, shall we say.
- 1:08:26Hasn't beat the YMCA yet, but we will.
- 1:08:30We'll see what Darwin comes up. We'll also see another match
- 1:08:37that I'm looking forward. Actually, there's a lot of
- 1:08:39matches I'm looking forward to on this Nightshade taking on
- 1:08:43Lucy Sky, which will be an absolute bango with these two
- 1:08:49ladies, Emerson Jane and Rain Leverkusen.
- 1:09:00I mean, the car just can't get better, can it?
- 1:09:04I mean, it can and it will try to with the TNT World Title,
- 1:09:13Connor Mills looking to end the ridiculous reign that has been
- 1:09:20the reign of greatness in Tate. Mayfair's, in a word, Miles.
- 1:09:31Does Tate retain yes or no? Yes.
- 1:09:37There we have it. I'll ask you because we'll we'll
- 1:09:42be there across all those matches, or unless you want to
- 1:09:48pick one from each show, which one are you looking forward to
- 1:09:52the most? There's two matches to me that
- 1:09:59stand out, maybe 3. So Critchie versus Luke Jacobs,
- 1:10:06I can't wait for that much. That much is going to be so much
- 1:10:09fun. Like to finally get to see
- 1:10:13Critchie go one-on-one with Jacob said yeah, this match is
- 1:10:16going to be a good one. And Temple of Malin versus Act 2
- 1:10:21because it's the Monsters Ball stipulation.
- 1:10:23This is one of my favourite stipulated matches, so I'm
- 1:10:28looking forward to see what we bring into Monsters Ball.
- 1:10:33We have to see some barbed wire. We need the thumb tax and we
- 1:10:37need Janice. I'm wondering if Janice will
- 1:10:42make an appearance. If not Janice, it might be the
- 1:10:46British equivalent. What would the British
- 1:10:49equivalent be? Gene.
- 1:10:52Gene. Gene or Jeffrey?
- 1:10:55Depends. I mean, there's a lot of
- 1:11:04ignition that I'm, I'm quite looking forward to, to be fair,
- 1:11:09Mack, who we saw back last September against Tommy Tanner.
- 1:11:17I've seen Mack a couple of Times Now and he's just got better
- 1:11:22every time I've seen him. Skinner, I imagine the the
- 1:11:30locals will be very complimentary towards Mr Skinner
- 1:11:37come Saturday while he kind of holds his nose in and avoid a
- 1:11:44Pinocchio nose coming out because we both know that ain't
- 1:11:47happening. It's going to be interesting to
- 1:11:51see Joe Joe Rage and Bullet because you don't know a whole
- 1:11:57lot about Joe Rage. So that's going to be an
- 1:12:03interesting 1. Holly and Sky, I can imagine is
- 1:12:08going to be just a bundle of fun, but equally going to be
- 1:12:12hard hitting because they both have the same characteristics of
- 1:12:19the they can be both funny, but at the same time they can be
- 1:12:22absolute ass kickers when they have to be.
- 1:12:26Jacobs and Critchie, it's that's just going to slap.
- 1:12:34Rumble match is always an interesting kind of match to
- 1:12:39watch anyhow, so that's going to be fun.
- 1:12:46The Ultra X title again could be a potential show stealer.
- 1:12:53Monsters Ball again, we've already spoke about Darwin and
- 1:12:58Moth. That could be a absolute
- 1:13:02cracker, if potentially very chaotic and fun for different
- 1:13:09reasons. Nightshade and Sky are just
- 1:13:13going to beat the shit out of each other.
- 1:13:15I mean, let's be honest, that's all that's going to happen.
- 1:13:21Emerson Jane and Rain Levikuzen Rain and Jane equally going to
- 1:13:27be the same as night shading sky just going to beat the hell out
- 1:13:32of each other. Mills and Mayfair's I don't see
- 1:13:38Mills taking the title from Tate, but again, I it's I sense
- 1:13:47shenanigans. Overall, that entire day in
- 1:13:53Liverpool is going to be so much fun, seeing a lot of friends I
- 1:14:00don't see often as well, so we'll be good to see them.
- 1:14:06Also on Saturday night over in Morecambe, we have OPW Odyssey
- 1:14:15Pro Wrestling overboard at the Morecambe Alhambra Theatre.
- 1:14:23Four, well four matches and a rumble.
- 1:14:29So we have Alexander Grey versus Craig Collins for the Morecambe
- 1:14:36Bay Championship. We have the viral connection,
- 1:14:43the VC taking on mystery opponents.
- 1:14:48Maybe for the tag titles does not stress that, but you never
- 1:14:53know. We have for the Women's
- 1:14:57Championship a falls count Anywhere match where Leah Raven
- 1:15:04will defend and look to break the longest streak in British
- 1:15:10wrestling or a female champion as she goes one-on-one with the
- 1:15:18person who she almost broke the arm of in Alana Austin.
- 1:15:25However, there is a stipulation for this, so if Lana loses then
- 1:15:35she can never challenge for the OPW Women's Championship as long
- 1:15:42as Leo Raven is the champion. On the men's side of things for
- 1:15:52the Odyssey Heavyweight Championship, Rick Marcus will
- 1:15:58defend his title against that man Joey Hayes, and that should
- 1:16:06be a fascinating title match over in Morocambe.
- 1:16:14However, the final match on the card is the Overboard Rumble
- 1:16:23looking at some of the names down Teddy Ray, Nightmare, RPD,
- 1:16:32Decker, Troy Ryan, Nate Reese, and a few traditional faces that
- 1:16:42you'll see on OPW shows. But that what I've just named
- 1:16:48there, that is going to be an exciting Rumble.
- 1:16:54RPDI believe said at the end of the last show that he will win
- 1:16:59it and we'll set up a match with Rick Marcus.
- 1:17:05So we will see if RPDS boast boastful premonition comes to
- 1:17:18fruition, if that's even a word. So yes, that is what you good
- 1:17:26folks in Markham will be having on Saturday night, but moving to
- 1:17:34Sunday. Both starting at the well, I
- 1:17:40suppose they're not starting at the same time.
- 1:17:43The earlier show is at Stockport Guildhall.
- 1:17:50Future Shock Wrestling presents Lotto Funder 2026, where no one
- 1:17:58knows who's going to face each other.
- 1:18:01So it's a blind tournament effectively.
- 1:18:07So the 8 participants are as follows.
- 1:18:14Helle Gorgon, Tom McCall which I'm interested to see how he
- 1:18:23does in this, Danny Hope, Naje, Josh Easy, HT Drake, and last
- 1:18:35but by no means least, Dynamite Lee.
- 1:18:42So it's 4 qualifying matches with winners advancing to the
- 1:18:49well to it will be two semifinals I imagine because
- 1:18:53it's normally how they do it with the grand final to
- 1:18:58determine who will get a title shot.
- 1:19:08Originally I had Naji as the odds on favourite for this,
- 1:19:14however I think we might see Pele taking this one home
- 1:19:21personally. What's what's your takes on on
- 1:19:29who might win it from from the names you've heard?
- 1:19:33From the names I've heard, I think it's between I'll say
- 1:19:38Dynamite Lee and Donny Hope. Interesting, interesting.
- 1:19:48But we'll we'll, we'll see what what happens on Sunday.
- 1:19:54However, there are still two more matches on this card, one
- 1:20:00being the six man tag match with Troy Ryan and Slambulance, that
- 1:20:08being Slam Johnson. And Doctor Proctor as they take
- 1:20:14on Deck McCarthy, Hong and Aziz. So this is in a sense a prelude
- 1:20:26to. I can't remember when the next
- 1:20:30Hangover show is at the Fairfield, but it will contest
- 1:20:35Deck McCarthy against Slam or Henry the Eighth, whichever they
- 1:20:42decide to go down. So it's going to be interesting
- 1:20:48to see where they go with this because they do still have the
- 1:20:55For the Love of Future Shock show to come later in the month.
- 1:21:01So they can do a bit more of a build up there.
- 1:21:04I don't think they will because normally shows at bowlers the
- 1:21:11almost tend to be their own little kind of show themselves.
- 1:21:17However, one match that I am looking forward to is for the
- 1:21:23women's title and sees Holly Barlow putting up her women's
- 1:21:29title up against a debutante to future Shop in Saxa who seems to
- 1:21:41be getting around all over the place.
- 1:21:44It feels in in recent times she seems dotted sort of like here
- 1:21:49there and everywhere which is great to see.
- 1:21:55I haven't seen Saxa too much. I have a feeling you will have
- 1:22:00seen her far more than than I have.
- 1:22:03Yeah, I've seen her refer a few times.
- 1:22:05Great addition for Future Shock. This is a match I was looking
- 1:22:09forward to, but sadly I won't be there on Sunday.
- 1:22:11But it'll be interesting to see how quickly she gets over with a
- 1:22:16Future Shock audience. I don't know if many people are
- 1:22:19fully aware of her, but whoever's in attendance room for
- 1:22:22a treat. Because, I mean, it's not
- 1:22:27necessarily the best thing to be remembered about.
- 1:22:31Well, maybe it is, but when I think of Saxon out, I just think
- 1:22:36of big T chopping one of the most viral clips.
- 1:22:44I think I saw of like the back end last year.
- 1:22:51I think everyone kind of like got a laugh out of it.
- 1:22:55I think Sax has even joked about it as well.
- 1:22:57But every time I watch that video and I hear the noise made,
- 1:23:06it was bloody brutal. It has to be said.
- 1:23:14Also on Sunday and completing near enough this podcast, we
- 1:23:21take a trip to Wigan at the Monaco Theatre of the Monaco at
- 1:23:28least for Grand Pro Wrestling's back with a bang.
- 1:23:34This, the card itself is stacked and originally I was going to go
- 1:23:42to this, but you know, funds, so the card itself.
- 1:23:52So we have set to appear, it says is Jack Johnson, who lost
- 1:23:59the GPW British title in a triple threat match to Sana
- 1:24:06Derson and Jack Bandicoot on the last show.
- 1:24:12He will be there. Matt Brooks and also the Austins
- 1:24:18will be in attendance. RPD is going to speak about what
- 1:24:26happened last time as it will be the first GPW show for quite a
- 1:24:33while where he does not have the title in his grasp.
- 1:24:42We have Kemper against Rob Drake, Sam Gradwell who made his
- 1:24:52return on the last show, takes on Brady Phillips who their
- 1:25:00their fights at the South Pro were one of the best feuds I'd
- 1:25:06seen early on in my early travelling days.
- 1:25:12So fans in Wigan are going to be treated there.
- 1:25:19We have a fast track five way where Isaac N, Tony Wright, Joey
- 1:25:27Hayes, Mickey Barnes and Teddy Ray will all do battle.
- 1:25:36The GP Tag trophy sees FML taking on Fell Mel, it's a
- 1:25:48tongue twister if there ever was one as Melissa Face and Tom
- 1:25:55Falwell will look to try and get the tag trophy of the FML gang
- 1:26:07for the GPW British Championship.
- 1:26:12Sana Derson makes his first defence of the title as he takes
- 1:26:17on George Hunter and in your main event, while my voice just
- 1:26:25about holds out for the GPW heavyweight title.
- 1:26:30Sandy Beach will make his first defence of the title, hoping to
- 1:26:38defend it against Dylan Roberts with his manager Isaiah Quinn.
- 1:26:46So we will not be having a Quinn at Future Shock unfortunately.
- 1:26:54But there's a lot, there's a lot to process looking at that card.
- 1:27:04So if you are in Wigan or if you can't make Future Shock or if
- 1:27:10there's any other shows that I have missed, this looks like a
- 1:27:17perfect show to go to. Equally, if you're in Stockport
- 1:27:22or Manchester, tickets I think are still available or they
- 1:27:28should be for the Future Shock show in Stockport.
- 1:27:32He says that because I have still not got my ticket, but I
- 1:27:36will tomorrow. Yeah, that is pretty much it for
- 1:27:44this episode. Have you any last thoughts,
- 1:27:51Miles, before we wrap this episode up?
- 1:27:56No, just looking forward to another week of wraps TNT on
- 1:28:01Saturday. It's going to be fun.
- 1:28:03I still need to get my tickets for them two shows but there was
- 1:28:07a the pre show match so TNTVIP. So if you get the VIP package
- 1:28:13cost you a little bit extra. You get to see Lucian against
- 1:28:17Tie Archer which be a fun little opener.
- 1:28:21Always love a dark match. Like who doesn't love an extra
- 1:28:25match? Can't complain and I get to give
- 1:28:27TIE Archer more shit so fuck you TIE piece of shit.
- 1:28:35And said we're feeling as well death.
- 1:28:40That's pretty much it for for us to on this episode.
- 1:28:48If you want to leave any feedback or drop a comment on X,
- 1:28:55at least I am on I think it's brothers grappas on X.
- 1:29:03Well, I try and make sure I'm saying the right thing, which is
- 1:29:08always helpful. Not knowing your own socials.
- 1:29:14So it is Brothers Grappas, Capital B, Capital G.
- 1:29:23If you want to message me on my own account, it's PETA, Brothers
- 1:29:30Capital B. Capital BI did say capital B.
- 1:29:36Yeah, just the capitals. What else have we got?
- 1:29:41And the new podcast X. Yes you can.
- 1:29:49You can find this. Anyway, if you're on Spotify
- 1:29:52you'll know this. If you want to possibly give a
- 1:29:58like and a comment on this show I'd really appreciate it because
- 1:30:03I'm trying to see how many likes I get on this before I get the
- 1:30:11initial one star review somewhere down the line.
- 1:30:14So let's try and keep it going. I want to get to 5 months before
- 1:30:19I get someone saying this person has no clue what he's talking
- 1:30:23about, which in fairness they would probably be accurate on
- 1:30:28that sense because I don't have a clue what I'm talking about
- 1:30:31half the time. Offer them that.
- 1:30:38Thank you for listening. I don't have a witty outro.
- 1:30:42I only have witty intros, though some people will argue that it's
- 1:30:49not even witty. But if you're there in Liverpool
- 1:30:55on Saturday, just say hi. I'll say hi back and look at you
- 1:31:01weirdly. If you're there in Stockport, I
- 1:31:06will be there hopefully. I haven't got my ticket but I
- 1:31:09should be there at ringside. Fingers crossed there's still
- 1:31:15tickets for ringside. Other than that, thank you for
- 1:31:19listening. If you are going to a show,
- 1:31:22enjoy it no matter where you are.
- 1:31:26But for now, at least, it's a goodbye from me, and it's a
- 1:31:31goodbye from Miles. Yes, it is goodbye.
- 1:31:37Thank you very much and we will catch you on the next episode.
