- 0:02And they'll use my voice out of the speakers.
- 0:07OK, if I hear electric vehicle one more time.
- 0:11I'm going to go La La La La. Electric vehicle EV Electric
- 0:15Vehicle. My gosh.
- 0:17It's The Kenny Wallace Show, brought to you by Jags.
- 0:21Hello everyone and welcome back to the Kenny Wallace Show
- 0:25brought to you by Jags, the leader in high performance
- 0:29aftermarket car parts. Remember to go to jags.com for
- 0:34everything and anything you need to fix your vehicle up.
- 0:39Well, I I think this is the very first Kenny Wallace show in a
- 0:43long time. We have been loading you up with
- 0:46Kenny conversations and you know, Kenny conversation is a
- 0:50lot different than this Kenny Wallace show over there.
- 0:54Kenny conversation. We interviewed the world's
- 0:57greatest race car drivers. But the Kenny Wallace show, the
- 1:00one I'm getting ready to give you right now, is my opinion on
- 1:04everything. So let's get right to it.
- 1:08This electric vehicle, if I if I hear electric vehicle one more
- 1:13time, I'm going. To go a La La La La.
- 1:15Electric vehicle, Ed. Electric vehicle.
- 1:18My gosh, listen, this deal has become so political that NASCAR
- 1:23said, all right, all right, we'll make you an electrical
- 1:26vehicle. So let me give you my opinion on
- 1:31the new NASCAR electrical vehicle that Charlie Marlow is
- 1:36going to drop in right now as I'm pointing my finger down.
- 1:41Here it is. Here's the NASCAR EV electrical
- 1:45vehicle. Get a good look at it.
- 1:47Now, one thing I want to point out about this vehicle, NASCAR
- 1:53said it's like a it's like an old dog that doesn't have a
- 1:57home. It's not a Chevy.
- 1:59It's not a Ford, It's not a Toyota.
- 2:03It's it's nothing. It it's nothing that they said
- 2:06it's not even an automaker. So here's my opinion on this,
- 2:11OK? The federal government has been
- 2:17so freaked out about going green, going green, and they
- 2:20want everybody to do their job. You know, you look over there in
- 2:23Formula One, they got a little electric series.
- 2:25It's like everybody's just doing something to appease people.
- 2:30So NASCAR made this. David Reagan has been testing it
- 2:36up at Martinsville. They've been putting on a little
- 2:40show. They feel like they're ready to
- 2:43show it to the world. This electric vehicle is going
- 2:48to be run at the LA Coliseum. So when we watch the LA
- 2:54Coliseum, you know that the Clash, it's a fun event inside
- 2:59the LA Coliseum. They're going to put this
- 3:02electric vehicle on display and David Reagan, the great NASCAR
- 3:06race car driver, is going to run it around and everybody's going
- 3:09to go there. It is.
- 3:11And I'm going to be interested. I want to watch because I want
- 3:15to hear does it got any noise. You know, my opinion is if
- 3:19electric vehicle is not going to make any noise, I think there
- 3:23should be a a little like some speakers and and and some guy
- 3:28going like they should let me do it right.
- 3:32Hey Herman, can you download your voice and we'll just put
- 3:36speakers on each side of the car and and I'll go and they'll use
- 3:42my voice out of the speakers. Couldn't help myself.
- 3:48So before I get into the politics and of this electric
- 3:53vehicle, let's let's let's get the, you know, the whole deal
- 3:59wrapped up. OK.
- 4:00So we have a NASCAR electric vehicle.
- 4:03It's not a brand. It's it's what do they call
- 4:07them? Old dogs, mute.
- 4:08I don't know. You know, just old dog.
- 4:11It's not a Chevy, it's not a Toyota.
- 4:12It's out for just a car that way.
- 4:15They stayed out of the politics. They tested it at Martinsville.
- 4:19David Reagan was the driver. They said it got within a couple
- 4:22tenths of the car that we're running right now.
- 4:27OK, So anyway, and I believe that this was just to let
- 4:34everybody know that NASCAR is innovative.
- 4:37Let me tell you also where I think this stemmed from, You
- 4:41know, we have been running the normal carburetor for years and
- 4:45we finally got electronic fuel ignition.
- 4:47And you know, they quit making a carburetor.
- 4:50You know, the carburetor that we got in our old dirt cars like,
- 4:53you know, my Jags performance dirt car right there, my Jags
- 4:58modified. It's got a carburetor on it, but
- 5:01they quit making carburetors back in the 1970s.
- 5:05So NASCAR was behind in the development of the carburetor.
- 5:11So NASCAR's got this new next Gen. car.
- 5:14It's it's like earth shattering, ground breaking, breaking.
- 5:19But but the new, the new next Gen. car is years behind, years
- 5:23behind. It's basically the same car
- 5:26they've been running over there in the Australian V8 series.
- 5:30If, you know we're going to put one lug nut on.
- 5:32Well, they've had one lug nut for 30 years, 40 years, 50 years
- 5:37on Indy cars. And so I think this electric
- 5:40vehicle is just something for NASCAR.
- 5:42We're trying, we're staying innovative.
- 5:45So that's my opinion on that. All right.
- 5:48Let's move a little further with why I think this is all a big
- 5:54pony show dog and pony show. Because NASCAR has come out and
- 6:00said look, we believe in the herminator's got it wrote right
- 6:04here. Hydrogen combustion motors.
- 6:09So I don't think the electric car.
- 6:12You know, you you and I, all you smart people out there, all the
- 6:15engineers we keep hearing hydrogen is the way to go.
- 6:18Well, I don't know about it. OK.
- 6:20Respond right here. Tell me why hydrogen is better.
- 6:25I can think. Listen as the I'm an old
- 6:27redneck. I'll tell you one reason I think
- 6:28hydrogen is better because we're all jacked up on Mountain Dew by
- 6:34electric car. That's fine.
- 6:36That's fine. But you there's 360 million
- 6:41people in America, so let's just take half.
- 6:45We're we're going to need what, 100 million charging stations?
- 6:50I'm betting during 100,000 charging stations in all all of
- 6:54America right now. So we got these electric
- 6:58vehicles, we're doing our part, we're saving Earth.
- 7:02But in the end, it's not practical.
- 7:06You know, look, a storm comes, your electric goes out, can't go
- 7:10to work the next day because you were charging your vehicle, but
- 7:13there's no electric in the house, you know.
- 7:16So now we got to go get a generator.
- 7:19Remember those things? They advertised what's called
- 7:21Gen. vac or whatever vac, but now you can put gas in it to
- 7:25make that generator run. So I'm going to say the quote of
- 7:29all quotes right here, quotations.
- 7:34We will need gasoline and electric and hydrogen to make
- 7:41the world go round. End Quote, we're going to need
- 7:45it all there. There's nothing wrong with using
- 7:48a little bit of everything. But however, do not jam an
- 7:53electric vehicle down my throat and go, you got to, you got to
- 7:56run an electric vehicle like they're doing out there in
- 7:58California, that that's going to be the biggest you've ever seen
- 8:03in your life. California's trying to do this
- 8:05deal. I mean, they really need to cut
- 8:07that state off and move it on out because they're ridiculous.
- 8:12You know what is it by 2050 or whatever it is, they're they're
- 8:16saying every car got me electric.
- 8:18Well, that whole place to go dark.
- 8:20Can you see everybody charging their cars up?
- 8:22So it's not practical. And like my mom Judy says, don't
- 8:27insult my intelligence, OK, You're insulting my
- 8:30intelligence. Please don't do that.
- 8:33So, all right, let's wrap it up. If NASCAR does do anything
- 8:39different, you've heard it here. It's going to be a hydrogen
- 8:44combustion motor. So the hermeter's got his notes
- 8:47here. You know, I'm always up front.
- 8:50Let's go over it all. Electric vehicle, they're not
- 8:53going to race it. It's a dog and pony show.
- 8:56They're going to put it on display at the LA Coliseum.
- 8:59NASCAR right now. And I forgot to tell you this.
- 9:02They've been to Japan and the Japanese, and I bet Toyota's
- 9:07involved in this. They're smart people.
- 9:10They're they're favoring the hydrogen combustion engine, and
- 9:13it sounds more like a motor is what they say.
- 9:17This is a way for NASCAR to stay up to date on technology.
- 9:22I don't think NASCAR wants to get stuck in the dust anymore.
- 9:26We ran the carburetors way too long, and here's why.
- 9:30Because every single vehicle you buy right now does not have a
- 9:33carburetor on it. All right, well, listen, I think
- 9:36that's it. Respond right here.
- 9:40The electric vehicle is a dog and pony show.
- 9:42That's OK And let's watch it out there at the LA Coliseum.
- 9:48All right, everybody. I think I did pretty good under
- 9:5110 minutes. Remember, we are in podcast
- 9:54form. We're on iTunes or in Spotify
- 9:58until the next Kenny Wallace show.
- 9:59We'll see you next time.
