- 3:48Speaker 3: that's right up o rally. We talked about your travel

- 3:51Speaker 4: Oh thank you, but sas, I don't mean to step
- 3:52Speaker 4: on your toes. Why don't you bring us in?
- 3:55Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 3:56Speaker 2: All right, welcome back to the Son of a Boy
- 3:58Speaker 2: Dad podcast. We are here.
- 4:00Speaker 3: I need a clap, brother. Oh yeah, oh wow.
- 4:04Speaker 4: It feels like you guys really hate each other. I
- 4:08Speaker 4: am here for it.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Joe got at Joe got a little glimpse into the
- 4:14Speaker 2: behind the scenes. Me and Francis.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Well, I went to the bathroom, but there were the
- 4:18Speaker 4: fist fighting. Yell the hallway. Is there an ashtray? We
- 4:23Speaker 4: didn't think any of this thrill.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Are you surprised?
- 4:28Speaker 4: No ashtray? Can we let the people behind the curtain
- 4:32Speaker 4: of what's happening here, because I want to make sure
- 4:34Speaker 4: I am in the fucking clear on this.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Basically, Uh, I didn't know we were doing cigars today.
- 4:39Speaker 3: I didn't know we were doing a cigar episode.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Uh.
- 4:42Speaker 3: You know, there's stuff that goes into that. Main Mainly,
- 4:45Speaker 3: we have to let the people who work on our
- 4:47Speaker 3: floor know, uh that that we're gonna smoke cigars and
- 4:51Speaker 3: there's nothing they can do about it. And HR has
- 4:53Speaker 3: told us that when we want to do this, we
- 4:56Speaker 3: have to give people heads up so that they have
- 4:58Speaker 3: the option to move death to the downstairs legally, and
- 5:05Speaker 3: we have to let them know ahead of time. And
- 5:06Speaker 3: it's okay if we do it. We just need to
- 5:08Speaker 3: let them know. We need to get the air puri
- 5:09Speaker 3: fire going, all these things, you know, none of that.
- 5:14Speaker 3: We hadn't done any of that. I was concerned, perhaps
- 5:18Speaker 3: overly so for the benefit of my coworkers, but I'm
- 5:22Speaker 3: probably being a total bitch. These guys made a great point.
- 5:26Speaker 3: We're just having fun and and we this is not
- 5:30Speaker 3: an abnormal thing to do, smokes cigars on the pod.
- 5:33Speaker 3: I think that when you tell me we're gonna smoke scars,
- 5:36Speaker 3: I feel the way that Casey Affleck felt in goodwill
- 5:40Speaker 3: hunting when they pulled up to the basketball court and
- 5:44Speaker 3: Ben Affleck goes, you're going.
- 5:47Speaker 4: You're gone there in two seconds, We're gonna burn the
- 5:50Speaker 4: cigars on you.
- 5:51Speaker 3: I don't want to fight a stranger. I don't want
- 5:55Speaker 3: to smoke a cigar today. In the middle of the day.
- 5:57Speaker 3: I got stuff to do, I had to work out planned.
- 6:01Speaker 3: All my plans are out the window, so you know,
- 6:05Speaker 3: here we are, and I want to say I have
- 6:08Speaker 3: nothing to do with this. I don't want the heat
- 6:11Speaker 3: from the up top people. I don't want Dave.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Portnoy fucking knocking on my door. And I don't want
- 6:16Speaker 4: you Francis, my my colleague, my pal to think this
- 6:20Speaker 4: has that ended with me because they say, hey, we
- 6:23Speaker 4: love cigar.
- 6:25Speaker 6: Hand.
- 6:26Speaker 2: We were showing our hand and we didn't really anticipate
- 6:29Speaker 2: Joe jumping on it. We were like, no, jump. We
- 6:31Speaker 2: were like, we're like, you know, occasionally we'll smoke a cigar.
- 6:33Speaker 2: We were like, your cigar guy, right, I.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Said, you smoked here. That's crazy. I was like, I
- 6:38Speaker 4: literally was like, that's insane that they let you smoke cigar.
- 6:41Speaker 4: They don't that makes sense.
- 6:44Speaker 3: There is Yeah. Well, let's put it this way, Joe.
- 6:47Speaker 3: We don't do it barely ever really, and I think
- 6:50Speaker 3: the fact that you're here is is why we are
- 6:52Speaker 3: doing it. Uh, and this every episode and therefore you
- 6:57Speaker 3: know this is on you.
- 6:58Speaker 4: But I did not say, hey, hey, I have a
- 7:01Speaker 4: clause in my contact. I smoked cigar. It's in your rider,
- 7:05Speaker 4: by the way, if you can tell you're not supposed
- 7:07Speaker 4: to smoke it here, because normally, if you smoke indoors,
- 7:09Speaker 4: the smoke gets pulled up by a fucking what do
- 7:13Speaker 4: you call it? I know they call it a smoke.
- 7:17Speaker 4: I don't know how it works, but this just sits
- 7:19Speaker 4: right in my fe It's a cloud of smoke.
- 7:21Speaker 2: You're not gonna get well after this, you're gonna get
- 7:23Speaker 2: one of that cigar.
- 7:25Speaker 4: I hate smoking indoors too.
- 7:26Speaker 3: If it's not.
- 7:30Speaker 4: After all that, Wow, sure there's a window somewhere. We
- 7:34Speaker 4: got the air purifire.
- 7:36Speaker 3: This is a year, a year gone from your life
- 7:39Speaker 3: on the back end, that's okay? Do you feel that way?
- 7:43Speaker 3: What would you be able to Okay? Would you bargain
- 7:47Speaker 3: years knowing the outcome?
- 7:49Speaker 2: This an episode of Black Mirror that just came out.
- 7:51Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 7:52Speaker 3: I haven't seen it. Is that true?
- 7:53Speaker 2: There's a new movie or something coming out where the
- 7:55Speaker 2: whole the whole premise is that they're they pay with
- 7:58Speaker 2: their lives.
- 7:59Speaker 3: I think said justin Timberlake movie called something Time.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you might be right. I might have just
- 8:03Speaker 2: saw it on And he's got.
- 8:05Speaker 3: The he's got the you have, like the how much
- 8:06Speaker 3: time you have on your wrist?
- 8:08Speaker 4: I remember that.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like a barcode and they like poker bargaining
- 8:11Speaker 3: with years.
- 8:12Speaker 2: And they'll like tip a bartend. They'll be like, here
- 8:14Speaker 2: take two weeks.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Yeah, rich people have. Yeah, it was a little corny
- 8:18Speaker 3: but interesting concept.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Good premise. Yeah, great idea for a black Mirror episode.
- 8:23Speaker 2: I don't know about a full movie.
- 8:24Speaker 4: Wait, so what what's the what's the premise of the question?
- 8:26Speaker 4: What was the question going to be?
- 8:28Speaker 3: Joe? We don't answer questions.
- 8:30Speaker 4: Okay, I was excited for the question.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Pose it theories and general inquiries and we leave them untied. Great,
- 8:36Speaker 3: we do not expect resolution here.
- 8:38Speaker 4: But I want to live. I would like to live.
- 8:42Speaker 4: But cigars don't kill you. It takes out smoking. I
- 8:45Speaker 4: think the people don't actually get they get cancer. I
- 8:49Speaker 4: don't want to sound like fucking whatever, but only like
- 8:52Speaker 4: ten percent of people that smoke cigarettes chronically get cancer. Yeah,
- 8:56Speaker 4: I mean, your lungs are fucked up, this heart does.
- 8:57Speaker 4: It's not good for you. It's like the worst thing
- 8:59Speaker 4: for you. But there's people that smoke for years and
- 9:02Speaker 4: years and years decades.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Yeah, my grandfather smoked for smoked three packs a day
- 9:06Speaker 2: for like thirty years and he didn't get cancer. Yeah,
- 9:08Speaker 2: he's dead, but he died from COVID.
- 9:10Speaker 4: I mean, David Lynch, a fucking tough cold knocks out.
- 9:18Speaker 3: A respiratorial Yeah's honest defenses were weak.
- 9:24Speaker 4: I don't want to act like smoking is good, but
- 9:26Speaker 4: they make it seem like if you smoke cigarettes, you're
- 9:28Speaker 4: just gonna get cancer and die. But you know, people
- 9:30Speaker 4: do it and cigars. I think there's something healthy about
- 9:34Speaker 4: him because it's very relaxing. Oh yeah, if you do
- 9:36Speaker 4: it at work, obviously, But you know people that are
- 9:39Speaker 4: famous for smoking. You think of Mark Twain, Bill Cosby,
- 9:42Speaker 4: George Burns, Grant, Ulysses S.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Grant been on a big Grant kick lately. I reference
- 9:48Speaker 3: him in every episode.
- 9:49Speaker 4: Love It, Churchill another one. Yeah, these are all cigar guys.
- 9:52Speaker 4: That lived late in life.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Well, Grant didn't live that late, but he did have
- 9:57Speaker 3: eighteen to twenty cigars a day.
- 9:59Speaker 4: That's too many.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Yeah, we talked about this last episode that was I
- 10:02Speaker 2: don't even understand how that's possible.
- 10:04Speaker 3: And as he was dying with a gigantic growth on
- 10:08Speaker 3: his tongue which was so clearly from his smoking, his wife,
- 10:14Speaker 3: through many medical experts opinions, absolutely vehemently denied that it
- 10:18Speaker 3: had any correlation to his smoking habits.
- 10:20Speaker 2: She would have been a great Rogan, guess, isn't that
- 10:25Speaker 2: Wasn't that the whole thing though, is that everyone denied
- 10:27Speaker 2: that smoking was bad for you forever?
- 10:29Speaker 4: Yes, of course.
- 10:30Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Like the there's like old videos of like people in
- 10:33Speaker 2: the hospital with lung cancer and they're still smoking and
- 10:35Speaker 2: the doctors are smoking, sort of.
- 10:37Speaker 3: The premise of Madmen.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Yeah, that they as advertisers want to dissuade purchasers from
- 10:45Speaker 3: believing that cigarettes are bad for you.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 10:48Speaker 4: It's also like a commercial like three out of four
- 10:50Speaker 4: doctors prefer Marlboroughs.
- 10:52Speaker 3: Yeah, those kind of things.
- 10:54Speaker 4: But I think a cigar, I do feel like there's
- 10:56Speaker 4: some Obviously it's bad for your mouth and tongue and
- 10:58Speaker 4: you can die. I can just feel people emailing me
- 11:00Speaker 4: being like, but with cigars, there is something about sitting
- 11:05Speaker 4: and socializing and pausing and the breathing. I think it's
- 11:11Speaker 4: I think it's pretty healthy.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Yeah, isn't there? But there's also kind of isn't there
- 11:16Speaker 2: kind of like uh, chip like that with alcohol too,
- 11:20Speaker 2: where they're like, drinking like two beers a night is
- 11:22Speaker 2: good for you because it makes you socialized.
- 11:24Speaker 3: I'm not sure if that's the right. They used to
- 11:26Speaker 3: say it was a glass of red wine, right, but
- 11:28Speaker 3: it's like, well, you could probably get the same benefit
- 11:31Speaker 3: from eating a bunch of grapes.
- 11:32Speaker 4: Yeah, juice or something. I think alcohol Now I'm seeing
- 11:35Speaker 4: more and more studies that alcohol is like the worst thing.
- 11:37Speaker 4: Oh yeah, ever, it sucks up your metabolism in your heart.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that ship makes sense if you think about it.
- 11:44Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, you know, I think that hard.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Now you don't have to think depressive, toxic, that's yeah,
- 11:51Speaker 2: it's terrible.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Joe, you made a movie in Maine.
- 11:56Speaker 4: Yeah, well it's it takes place in Man. We actually
- 11:58Speaker 4: shot it in New York for Yeah, but it's yeah,
- 12:01Speaker 4: it's main I'm gonna be honest, I didn't know that.
- 12:05Speaker 4: I feel terrible.
- 12:06Speaker 3: I was excited because.
- 12:07Speaker 4: I know, I know you are the only one syllable state.
- 12:10Speaker 4: I love Maine. You know that we talked about every time.
- 12:12Speaker 4: I'm a main guy. Yes, but yeah, wait, the whole
- 12:15Speaker 4: movie takes place in Maine, but we shot in New
- 12:17Speaker 4: York because it was easier.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Well, I forget you guys taking the shortcut.
- 12:22Speaker 4: You look as upset as you did. We found out
- 12:25Speaker 4: to smoke cigars. By the way, Can I just say once,
- 12:27Speaker 4: I don't want to link on the cigars. I thought
- 12:30Speaker 4: one hundred percent we weren't going to smoke cigars when
- 12:32Speaker 4: you reacted this way, and you really stayed steady with that.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Have to you gotta you gotta hold your ground.
- 12:38Speaker 3: I don't win often in this room.
- 12:40Speaker 2: There will be I will face backlash for that. Yeah,
- 12:43Speaker 2: as soon as you're gone, me and Francis are going
- 12:45Speaker 2: to go fourteen.
- 12:46Speaker 4: No, it just feels like you have superiority. You're older,
- 12:49Speaker 4: you're bigger, you.
- 12:51Speaker 3: Have you have no idea what it's like to argue
- 12:53Speaker 3: with him. No, No facts are irrelevant. Truth is irrelevant.
- 12:59Speaker 3: It's an abstract.
- 13:01Speaker 2: When you said it felt like you were at your
- 13:03Speaker 2: friend's house and the parents were fighting. It was like
- 13:06Speaker 2: we were standing in the hallway. I went to the
- 13:10Speaker 2: bathroom and I was like he this, yeah, having like
- 13:12Speaker 2: a genuine argument. And then I looked out of the
- 13:14Speaker 2: corner and I saw you walk into the and we
- 13:18Speaker 2: stepped like one step over to the wall where you
- 13:20Speaker 2: wouldn't be able to see us.
- 13:22Speaker 3: I think that it speaks to our comfortability with Joe.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Oh great, and knowing that I don't think that you
- 13:28Speaker 3: you are truly as someone I feel as a friend,
- 13:33Speaker 3: and thank you. I adore you and do not feel
- 13:36Speaker 3: weird arguing with him And.
- 13:38Speaker 4: Yeah, good, No, I thought you were gonna win for sure.
- 13:40Speaker 4: I think I might see it tonight. Right, you have
- 13:42Speaker 4: to stand time, I am. Yeah, how about that? We'll
- 13:44Speaker 4: feel nausaus We're not gonna feel good.
- 13:47Speaker 2: That'll be fun.
- 13:47Speaker 4: Boy.
- 13:47Speaker 3: Those two guys in a row had pretty yellow teeth.
- 13:51Speaker 4: That'll be fun. But anyways, Yeah, I made a movie
- 13:54Speaker 4: and made it because I've been a vacationing in May
- 13:55Speaker 4: in my whole life.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Where do you go? Boothbay Harbor beautiful, that's spectacles walking
- 14:00Speaker 3: bridge with the little right on it. Oh, that's stunning
- 14:03Speaker 3: across the Harbor. Yeah, it would blow my mind to
- 14:05Speaker 3: bump into you one day. And Booth Bay Harbor, well
- 14:07Speaker 3: that's a little that's a little north of me, but
- 14:10Speaker 3: it's really great. That's up by Camden Rockland right kind
- 14:14Speaker 3: of on the way up there. Yeah, it's Boothbay was
- 14:16Speaker 3: cast it and Bath yeap Bath Bath Iron Works.
- 14:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Uh, there's a place called Reds I think, Yeah, red
- 14:23Speaker 3: Zeats which always has a huge line out the door. Uh.
- 14:27Speaker 3: And also that one road that comes in through there.
- 14:30Speaker 3: There's always so much traffic.
- 14:32Speaker 4: Yes, West Castle is like horrend It like you drive
- 14:36Speaker 4: five hours from New York to Maine and it's great
- 14:38Speaker 4: your cruise, and then you hit West Cast it's all
- 14:40Speaker 4: backed up and it's because there's three hundred people in
- 14:41Speaker 4: line at red Zets.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Yeah. But as soon as you get past Reds that
- 14:44Speaker 3: you get under the bridge and it's smooth sailing all
- 14:47Speaker 3: the way up to Bar Harbor. Yeah, it's awesome. It's
- 14:49Speaker 3: like going to the Hampton's a little bit. It's just
- 14:51Speaker 3: that one residential road, but it's lovely, fantastic.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Bar Harbor, Yeah, where's Bar Harbor.
- 14:58Speaker 3: That's a case that's where I've been there. Yeah, it's
- 15:02Speaker 3: about an hour and a half two hours east of
- 15:05Speaker 3: bangor kind of northern Maine, north northeast Maine, but still
- 15:09Speaker 3: not as northern as you know Prescalice and uh, fucking
- 15:14Speaker 3: what's the Cariboo?
- 15:15Speaker 4: Cariboo is exactly right, he's a road gig. There a
- 15:18Speaker 4: Cariboo in Preskayle.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Where did you play in Cariboo?
- 15:21Speaker 4: I have no idea. This is the first road gig
- 15:23Speaker 4: I ever did. It was probably two thousand and one.
- 15:25Speaker 4: It might have been like the towers were up still.
- 15:27Speaker 4: I mean we drove ten hours to go up there,
- 15:29Speaker 4: and I think I made fifty bucks. And I drove
- 15:31Speaker 4: in my eighty seven Buick Century and I was like
- 15:33Speaker 4: I fucking made it. And there was a big giant guy,
- 15:37Speaker 4: like a Caribou main guy, like he was like six
- 15:40Speaker 4: four two eighty and I can't remember why, but during
- 15:43Speaker 4: my friend Tony Mousqueto's set, he walked on to the
- 15:45Speaker 4: stage like Tony was doing some kind of crowd work.
- 15:48Speaker 4: The guy like gout up on stage.
- 15:49Speaker 3: He didn't like beat.
- 15:50Speaker 4: Him up or anything like. He was like doing a
- 15:52Speaker 4: bit like look how much bigger I am than this guy.
- 15:55Speaker 4: The crowd was like, yeah, Jimmy it was insane, and
- 15:58Speaker 4: then we randomly saw him at the mall the next day.
- 16:01Speaker 3: That's my memory of the main.
- 16:03Speaker 4: Mall, no whatever. The Cariboo Presid's.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Main mall is in Portland, but I didn't know. I
- 16:08Speaker 3: thought that was our only mall.
- 16:10Speaker 4: It was, you know, it was probably a Sears and
- 16:14Speaker 4: a Philins and Jordan's Jordan's basement.
- 16:17Speaker 3: I wouldn't have known they would have that type of
- 16:20Speaker 3: infrastructure up there at that point in Maine, but I
- 16:24Speaker 3: did in Covid. The first gig I did when we
- 16:27Speaker 3: were allowed to start performing again was up near there. Uh,
- 16:32Speaker 3: not quite in Cariboo, but it was at a hunting
- 16:36Speaker 3: lodge in north northern Maine and the only way to
- 16:40Speaker 3: get there was by taking logging roads. Oh wow. So
- 16:43Speaker 3: we went from paved roads to dirt roads for the
- 16:46Speaker 3: last hour and a half of the drive. And I'm
- 16:48Speaker 3: telling you, dude, I mean, that's it's like clan country.
- 16:54Speaker 4: Yeah, May is like you start seeing Confederate flags stuff
- 16:57Speaker 4: up there.
- 16:57Speaker 3: It's crazy.
- 16:58Speaker 4: By the way, where are we ashing? You had an ash?
- 17:00Speaker 3: What's gone?
- 17:00Speaker 2: I asked on the table?
- 17:03Speaker 4: All right, as a very nice space.
- 17:07Speaker 3: Eat the ash. Eat it. We're eating it. Leave no trace,
- 17:11Speaker 3: all right.
- 17:12Speaker 2: I usually just rub it into my pants slowly.
- 17:14Speaker 4: Ye, crack that door open.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Thank you very much, your personal Stellar blue ASTROI.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Oh my god, this is going to be terrible, just
- 17:29Speaker 3: venting the out into the the people who do our
- 17:35Speaker 3: expense reports, clear purchases we make on the road.
- 17:40Speaker 4: I just picture all of those people being like, what's
- 17:42Speaker 4: going what is what's happening? They probably think we're on fire.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Well it was like that. I didn't really know how
- 17:47Speaker 2: we were going to go about because they did say
- 17:49Speaker 2: the last time we did they sent an email saying
- 17:50Speaker 2: we have to give them a heads up before we
- 17:52Speaker 2: do it. And I didn't really know how we were
- 17:53Speaker 2: going to go about that when we went out there,
- 17:55Speaker 2: and usually.
- 17:56Speaker 3: Usually the answer would be you send it the email.
- 17:58Speaker 2: You send an email.
- 17:59Speaker 3: Francis to boy, how do we go about letting them know?
- 18:01Speaker 2: Francis took the lead on it, and he did a
- 18:04Speaker 2: good job, but it was uncomfortable. He just went and
- 18:06Speaker 2: stood at their desks and was like, hello, everybody, we're
- 18:10Speaker 2: going to smoke cigars. If you want to move, you
- 18:12Speaker 2: can move, And then they all kind of just turned
- 18:14Speaker 2: and were like what.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Yeah, And he goes he goes, boy, that went well,
- 18:20Speaker 3: they didn't mind.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Well, it's kind of like speak now or hold your.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Hey, everybody, Yeah, we're going to throat fuck you for
- 18:27Speaker 3: the next forty five minutes. Just thought we should give
- 18:30Speaker 3: you the heads up.
- 18:31Speaker 4: But from a distance, most cigars smell great.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Most people like the smell of cigars outside on a screen,
- 18:38Speaker 3: didn't port.
- 18:39Speaker 2: But especially on tonight where today it's like a nice
- 18:42Speaker 2: day out, like people are like, you know, this feels
- 18:44Speaker 2: like summer, like a weekend to go outside. Yeah, we
- 18:49Speaker 2: got extra, tell them we got the seven dollars cigars.
- 18:51Speaker 2: They smoke with them.
- 18:52Speaker 4: This is a beautiful day here in the garment district
- 18:56Speaker 4: stroller ound.
- 18:58Speaker 2: We talked to Dave. He said, everyone gets to smoke
- 19:00Speaker 2: cigars at work today.
- 19:01Speaker 4: I don't know much about this, Dave Portannoy felt. I
- 19:04Speaker 4: just kind of see him pop up. I'm not, yeah,
- 19:05Speaker 4: but he seems like a guy that would be like
- 19:08Speaker 4: fuck the bozo's let him smoke, right.
- 19:11Speaker 2: It depends on what kind of It depends on who's
- 19:13Speaker 2: smoking the cigars.
- 19:14Speaker 4: I think we are those kind of guys.
- 19:16Speaker 2: I think so too.
- 19:17Speaker 4: I think Davi would like me very much.
- 19:19Speaker 2: I think he would too. I think he likes all
- 19:22Speaker 2: of us. Yeah Boston. Yeah, yeah, well we're all from
- 19:25Speaker 2: the Boston area.
- 19:26Speaker 4: How about that.
- 19:27Speaker 3: Are you from Boston?
- 19:29Speaker 4: I'm from Massachusetts. I mean I'm from Whitman, Massachusetts. Whe's
- 19:32Speaker 4: that it's next to Brockton. Yeah, but thirty five minutes
- 19:34Speaker 4: south of Boston.
- 19:35Speaker 2: I used to play hockey in Brockton all the time.
- 19:38Speaker 4: Really.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Yeah, those are the first time I ever saw like
- 19:41Speaker 2: a group of black people like sitting on a staircase.
- 19:44Speaker 4: Oh, I think you're gonna sound skates, because I remember
- 19:50Speaker 4: I did.
- 19:50Speaker 3: I went to anyway, hold on a second show. I'm
- 19:52Speaker 3: so sorry.
- 19:53Speaker 2: What you know, Like you know when you watch like
- 19:55Speaker 2: boys in the hood and it's like they're sitting on
- 19:57Speaker 2: this on the stairs.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Not usually at an eye brink.
- 20:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I understand on them a group of black kids.
- 20:05Speaker 4: You got a little nervous.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, stop. Yeah, they were posting up on a stoop.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:10Speaker 2: And I saw it and I stared.
- 20:13Speaker 4: I remember, I went this is like a long time ago.
- 20:15Speaker 4: I went to a comedy show at Nick's Comedy Stop
- 20:17Speaker 4: in Brockton and my friend Derek maybe leaft so hard.
- 20:19Speaker 4: We got out of the car. He looked around he went, well,
- 20:21Speaker 4: looks like we're playing a road game tonight. And I
- 20:24Speaker 4: still use that term any time him in a neighborhood
- 20:26Speaker 4: that's mixed race road game, especially I mean Maine. You
- 20:33Speaker 4: must have had it must have been quite an alarming
- 20:35Speaker 4: when you saw a group of African American fellas well.
- 20:40Speaker 4: Uh yeah, I mean, as I've said before, when I
- 20:45Speaker 4: was in high school or middle school, Uh, there was
- 20:48Speaker 4: a big immigration wave from Northeast Africa. Oh yeah, Somalia,
- 20:55Speaker 4: Sudan and maybe Ethiopia, and uh they settled in me. Yeah,
- 21:02Speaker 4: that's interesting. Minneapolis, massive Stalian population.
- 21:08Speaker 3: That's where they cast the whole movie of Captain Phillips.
- 21:11Speaker 4: Is that right?
- 21:11Speaker 3: All those guys were from uh Minneapolis, No killing. I
- 21:16Speaker 3: don't know why they because, you know, they come from
- 21:19Speaker 3: a pretty warm climate and to settle in two unbelievably
- 21:23Speaker 3: cold places seems, you know, like you're punishing yourself or something.
- 21:28Speaker 3: I don't know, but maybe the cold is like exciting
- 21:29Speaker 3: for them.
- 21:30Speaker 4: They're like, we love it, dude, it's not good at
- 21:32Speaker 4: voices that sounded I don't know what that sounded her
- 21:36Speaker 4: so cold?
- 21:37Speaker 2: That sounded more like Irish? Yeah, did African?
- 21:40Speaker 4: But I'm always fascinated by things like that that. I
- 21:43Speaker 4: watched the documentary on a delta flight called I don't Know,
- 21:46Speaker 4: Mister Donut or the Donut Donut King, and like eighty
- 21:49Speaker 4: five percent of donut shops in America are run by
- 21:53Speaker 4: Vietnamese people, really, because it's just one Vietnamese immigrant comes
- 21:57Speaker 4: and go they're like, hey, we like donuts here it's
- 21:59Speaker 4: yea dough and fucking sugar. And he was like, I'll
- 22:02Speaker 4: do that, and then he's his cousin comes and he's like, dude,
- 22:05Speaker 4: you should make donuts. And then the uncle comes and
- 22:07Speaker 4: he makes donuts and then the front cut and you
- 22:09Speaker 4: can't get a donut that's not made by a Vietnamese.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Yeah, motels are owned by Indian people.
- 22:15Speaker 4: No kidding.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Yeah, how about it's actually over fifty percent. That's a
- 22:19Speaker 2: reoccurring fact on this show.
- 22:20Speaker 3: We're talking about that a lot.
- 22:21Speaker 2: It's one of my good facts.
- 22:23Speaker 4: All the motels, no kidding, Buttel Motel, Yeah, all of them.
- 22:28Speaker 3: It's just because they did the cost for the neon
- 22:31Speaker 3: signage and realized they only had to change two letters.
- 22:38Speaker 4: That's like, you know, the start of the comedy club
- 22:39Speaker 4: Giggles in Seattle. It was a strip club before called
- 22:43Speaker 4: Jiggles or no vice versa. It was giggle That's what
- 22:47Speaker 4: it was. Vice That makes more sense. It was Giggles,
- 22:49Speaker 4: got bought out and became a strip club, and then
- 22:51Speaker 4: they left the sign and they just took off the front.
- 22:54Speaker 4: Neon just called it Jiggles.
- 22:55Speaker 2: That's great.
- 22:56Speaker 4: That's pretty great, great cost effective Jiggles.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Jiggles is a good titty bar them. I would go
- 23:00Speaker 2: in there, absolutely.
- 23:02Speaker 4: I would go if they called it Pets. The name
- 23:06Speaker 4: doesn't mean that much to me. It's Pete's also known
- 23:11Speaker 4: as now Teats.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Teats is a good name.
- 23:14Speaker 4: They went to Teats. I like that from Pete's Pets.
- 23:17Speaker 4: Switched the E and the T and yeah, you guys
- 23:20Speaker 4: get it. Well, it is smokey.
- 23:25Speaker 2: It is smokey in here.
- 23:27Speaker 3: Is it a pain?
- 23:28Speaker 2: We can put them out?
- 23:29Speaker 4: No way, that would be hilarious. We just bailed on
- 23:31Speaker 4: this now.
- 23:32Speaker 3: No, I'm I am committed.
- 23:33Speaker 4: No, no, Now, we gotta smoke all of them.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Smoke a whole bag. Whole bag.
- 23:39Speaker 2: We can go for like six hours and just bank
- 23:41Speaker 2: episodes for the rest of the year.
- 23:42Speaker 4: That would be nice. Our other host, Roan, I don't
- 23:47Speaker 4: know if I know Ron Adam is.
- 23:51Speaker 5: Uh.
- 23:52Speaker 4: Yeah, he's a friend to the groups that sit on
- 23:55Speaker 4: the stoops that Harry was talking about. I never got
- 23:59Speaker 4: in good with the stoop folks.
- 24:01Speaker 2: He's a battle rapper.
- 24:02Speaker 4: Oh really, well he was.
- 24:03Speaker 2: He was a batter. He's I think he stopped when
- 24:06Speaker 2: he was like twenty eight and he's thirty six now,
- 24:07Speaker 2: so I think he's been out of it for a while.
- 24:09Speaker 3: But he's gone back. He's done, he's done some sense.
- 24:14Speaker 3: But he just had twins.
- 24:16Speaker 4: Oh I heard that.
- 24:16Speaker 3: Yeah, that was That was.
- 24:17Speaker 4: The conversation right before the cigar.
- 24:18Speaker 3: That was.
- 24:19Speaker 4: Yeah, things were we were doing okay for a bit,
- 24:22Speaker 4: just the two of us, and then in our last
- 24:24Speaker 4: episode everyone said we can't take any more.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Of Roan of us.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Oh yeah, they don't like us.
- 24:31Speaker 4: So that's why we are so glad that you're here.
- 24:33Speaker 4: Oh sure, I'll be Roan.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Shane texted us yesterday.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Yeah, and he said the episode, Uh, he said, the
- 24:39Speaker 2: episode Tuesday sucked.
- 24:41Speaker 3: He goes, you, guys, without Roan, you've lost your juice.
- 24:45Speaker 4: Oh jeez, well get it back. Is Shane watching watching.
- 24:48Speaker 3: That was the most shocking thing. To be honest with.
- 24:50Speaker 4: You, Shane, I sent back to back Notre dame texts.
- 24:53Speaker 4: No response here.
- 24:54Speaker 2: I mean, I know it's he's tough to get a
- 24:56Speaker 2: reply out of it.
- 24:56Speaker 4: He's selling a lot of tickets and has famous friends.
- 24:59Speaker 4: But I mean, I'm I'm trying to pander with these
- 25:01Speaker 4: Notre dame texts.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't get anything back.
- 25:03Speaker 4: There's not much he needs, is what I've found. Because
- 25:06Speaker 4: I've thought about presenting him with gifts to get text
- 25:09Speaker 4: back myself. Sure, and in fact you have to buy him.
- 25:13Speaker 4: I almost sent him this link to this art gallery
- 25:16Speaker 4: that is selling these amazing paintings from this very cool
- 25:18Speaker 4: Cuban artist I found that does these kind of abstract
- 25:23Speaker 4: civil war slash modern photo modern paintings that are really cool,
- 25:28Speaker 4: and I thought they'd be right up his alley. And
- 25:30Speaker 4: I drafted the text, put the link in, deleted it,
- 25:34Speaker 4: tried a different way, deleted it, and then I just walked.
- 25:37Speaker 3: I just bailed.
- 25:38Speaker 4: Yeah that's rough. Well, it's hard. I think it's hard
- 25:41Speaker 4: when you're friends with someone who becomes huge. It's much
- 25:43Speaker 4: better to be friends with someone when they're already huge.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Oh yeah, it makes sense.
- 25:46Speaker 4: I remember this conversation because I became close with Louis
- 25:49Speaker 4: c K. But he was really huge prere the whole thing,
- 25:53Speaker 4: and I was I would just text him when I
- 25:56Speaker 4: had a thought, I'd be like, oh man, fuck it,
- 25:58Speaker 4: I'm gay. Whatever. And then I was with a friend
- 26:00Speaker 4: who was like a friend of his for twenty five years.
- 26:02Speaker 4: He's like, you just text him like that? Yeah, And
- 26:04Speaker 4: I was like, aren't you haven't you been friends for
- 26:06Speaker 4: twenty five years. He's like, but now he's at the oscars,
- 26:08Speaker 4: and so it's much easier when your friends blow up.
- 26:12Speaker 4: You're like, they probably hate me now. But I think
- 26:14Speaker 4: that's easy for you to say. I don't have that.
- 26:16Speaker 3: I can't.
- 26:17Speaker 4: I can't become friends with people. People of that status
- 26:20Speaker 4: are not gonna They're not gonna give me their phone number.
- 26:23Speaker 4: They might. I I don't think i'm good enough. Good
- 26:26Speaker 4: enough at comedy, you know what I mean. First of all,
- 26:30Speaker 4: you're a wonderful comedian. But also he really thinks you're
- 26:34Speaker 4: just a nice guy. People people want to be friends
- 26:36Speaker 4: with nice guys. I think you're not. I mean you might,
- 26:39Speaker 4: you might think differently, they might.
- 26:41Speaker 2: He's a great guy.
- 26:41Speaker 3: Okay, we get along well. We have a very fun
- 26:45Speaker 3: sort of brotherly rapport where somehow I'm the younger brother.
- 26:50Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what I'm confused by. Now you would just
- 26:52Speaker 4: hang them upside down and just beats me take his change.
- 26:55Speaker 3: Yeah, he beats me and stuffs me in a lot,
- 26:58Speaker 3: tells me to go fuck myself off, and I.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Aqui none of that is true. I'm very friendly with Francis.
- 27:04Speaker 2: We get in disagreements here and there, but we keep it,
- 27:06Speaker 2: we keep it moving, and it is funny because we
- 27:08Speaker 2: do get in big arguments and then right after it
- 27:10Speaker 2: kind of just goes away.
- 27:12Speaker 4: Now here's something I'm interested because you seem to have
- 27:13Speaker 4: two producer type fellas and neither one of them is
- 27:15Speaker 4: wearing headphones or anything like we could be not even recording.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Yeah, we watched the audio right there.
- 27:20Speaker 4: Oh wow, you watch your own audio because you just
- 27:23Speaker 4: have two men that are just adding to the smoke
- 27:26Speaker 4: and don't seem to be doing anything.
- 27:28Speaker 2: They monitor it as well. Okay, we're monitoring the ca
- 27:31Speaker 2: they monitor the cameras, and then we kind of just
- 27:33Speaker 2: do honor code for the audio.
- 27:35Speaker 4: They're not even looking at a monitor. It literally looks
- 27:39Speaker 4: like just two men adding to the smoke, which I'm for.
- 27:43Speaker 4: I would love have none of this recording. You guys
- 27:45Speaker 4: just gotten deep shit and it's not even an episode.
- 27:48Speaker 2: That happens a few times.
- 27:50Speaker 4: We just had the we just lost an episode because
- 27:52Speaker 4: our producer took a phone call and kicked over the
- 27:54Speaker 4: recorder in the middle of the episode. Tough Now, would
- 27:58Speaker 4: you doc? Can you doc pay for that? Because this
- 28:00Speaker 4: is Mark Norton and I were very We don't like confrontation.
- 28:02Speaker 4: We always feel like we're wrong. Like you're saying, you
- 28:04Speaker 4: just feel like an idiot.
- 28:06Speaker 2: I feel wrong at everything I do.
- 28:07Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, well why we should.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Really, every every decision I make in my life, I'm like, yeah,
- 28:13Speaker 2: that's the wrong decision.
- 28:14Speaker 3: I have to say. That is a stunning revelation. And
- 28:18Speaker 3: I mean this because you have more confidence in your
- 28:23Speaker 3: point of view than anyone Eve ever met. And I
- 28:25Speaker 3: credit you with that.
- 28:26Speaker 2: Oh yeah. But even in like when we were having
- 28:28Speaker 2: the car conversation about the cigars, in the back of
- 28:30Speaker 2: my head, I was like, I'm a fucking asshole.
- 28:32Speaker 4: Well that's good, yeah, because I'm ready to kill myself.
- 28:37Speaker 4: If you guys get in any amount of trouble, I
- 28:38Speaker 4: will take.
- 28:39Speaker 3: My own life.
- 28:41Speaker 4: That's a guarantee.
- 28:42Speaker 2: And it's not looking good for your future.
- 28:43Speaker 4: Now, what are some opinions that you have that are
- 28:45Speaker 4: are hardcore? Because I like to debate.
- 28:47Speaker 2: I don't have any like crazy opinions. I mean usually
- 28:50Speaker 2: typically how this show goes is, well, we'll talk about
- 28:52Speaker 2: you know, Delta. We're big Delta guys.
- 28:54Speaker 4: Huge Delta. Yeah, Diamond three years running. Of course when
- 28:57Speaker 4: I earn it, mine's just miles and money. I don't
- 28:59Speaker 4: have the card or anything.
- 29:01Speaker 2: You got to get the card.
- 29:03Speaker 4: I have a card, but I don't. I have a
- 29:04Speaker 4: corporate card because I'm in corporate.
- 29:06Speaker 3: So I use the corporate card because it's easier for taxes.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Use the Delta you're talking about. You have a business card? Yeah,
- 29:10Speaker 3: your comedy Yeah, yeah, so I just use that.
- 29:13Speaker 2: What do you have an AX?
- 29:15Speaker 4: It's a no, it's a Chase business.
- 29:19Speaker 3: Points. Yeah.
- 29:21Speaker 4: I don't even convert the points you got to get
- 29:23Speaker 4: on the Deltax reserve because I don't say United.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Well, if you're a Chase man, United would be your go.
- 29:29Speaker 3: To telling him to switch airlines.
- 29:31Speaker 4: Yeah, really, United sucks.
- 29:33Speaker 2: I'm I'm a United, I'm a Delta and he a
- 29:35Speaker 2: Delta guy. I am, but recently I've been leaning United.
- 29:38Speaker 4: Delta man. United guy No, United sucks. Delta is like
- 29:41Speaker 4: the greatest company of all time.
- 29:44Speaker 2: I love Delta, Delta. I mean their fleet though it's aging.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Poor scap, he's a scap.
- 29:48Speaker 4: You're out of her.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Fucking Have you been on like a nice United flight recently?
- 29:54Speaker 4: I wouldn't be caught dead on the Yeah, you gotta
- 29:56Speaker 4: give it a music to my ears.
- 29:58Speaker 2: You got to give it a try.
- 30:01Speaker 4: One time because I went to Chicago to Missoula like Direct,
- 30:05Speaker 4: so I had to fly Yeah, United, but no, they suck.
- 30:08Speaker 4: Oh Delta. The lounge, the colors, the women, it's all great.
- 30:12Speaker 3: It's really it's really Uh it's almost sort of a
- 30:16Speaker 3: nod to the past with a wave to the future.
- 30:18Speaker 4: Couldn't have said it better myself. You should be in
- 30:20Speaker 4: one of those rooms with the sales guys. That was beautiful.
- 30:22Speaker 3: I've been meaning to approach you with some ideas we
- 30:26Speaker 3: could do. I could honestly see I don't have to
- 30:28Speaker 3: run them by him first.
- 30:29Speaker 2: I could see you being one of the guys that
- 30:31Speaker 2: they played for like the safety demonstration on the heavy Absolutely, yeah,
- 30:35Speaker 2: folding up an oxygen mask.
- 30:36Speaker 4: Yes, stunningly attractive man, do you think don't you think
- 30:40Speaker 4: he could be in White Lotus season four. I never
- 30:42Speaker 4: saw White I don't know about White Lotus. A lot
- 30:44Speaker 4: of the things I hear about I don't know.
- 30:45Speaker 2: It's great.
- 30:46Speaker 4: I hate television. This is my hot take.
- 30:48Speaker 2: I don't like television in general.
- 30:49Speaker 4: No, you know why, because it's fucking seventy five hours.
- 30:53Speaker 4: Just give me a ninety minute story that is true.
- 30:55Speaker 2: A lot of them. They really are dragging out the
- 30:57Speaker 2: miniseries these days.
- 30:59Speaker 4: I started watching What's the fucking I mentioned him earlier,
- 31:04Speaker 4: David Lynch show, Mind Hunter, No No, No Quin, Twin Peaks.
- 31:09Speaker 4: When I was a boy, I'm a lot older than you.
- 31:11Speaker 4: I'm forty three. When I was a kid, I was
- 31:13Speaker 4: like ten when Twin Peaks came out, Yeah, and I
- 31:15Speaker 4: just thought it was like some silly drama. Then years
- 31:18Speaker 4: later I found out it was David Lynch and it's
- 31:20Speaker 4: a murder and it's funny and it's wacky. So I
- 31:21Speaker 4: was like, I gotta give this a try. And I
- 31:23Speaker 4: watched the pilot and I was like on the edge
- 31:25Speaker 4: of I was like, this is awesome. Yeah, I was
- 31:26Speaker 4: smiling at you to ear. And then I watched episode
- 31:28Speaker 4: two and three and then I'm like, wait, this sixty
- 31:30Speaker 4: more hours of this fucking thing.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Yeah, it's tough to get into a show that's like
- 31:34Speaker 2: like starting like Breaking Bad. Yeah, and you're like, well,
- 31:36Speaker 2: this is a this is a three year commitment that
- 31:38Speaker 2: I'm making, oh getting into this. I mean, but Breaking
- 31:42Speaker 2: Bad is a phenomenal show.
- 31:43Speaker 3: Yeah, the pilot's gripping, Joe. I mean, if you watched
- 31:47Speaker 3: The Sopranos.
- 31:49Speaker 4: Oh boy, you're gonna get me in trouble.
- 31:50Speaker 3: No. I mean, I don't know, Judge.
- 31:52Speaker 2: I haven't watched it either.
- 31:53Speaker 4: I don't like I don't love the Sopranos, and I
- 31:56Speaker 4: had to change my story. I used to say I
- 31:59Speaker 4: hate the Sopranos and it sucked, and then people got
- 32:01Speaker 4: very mad at me, and I had to start saying
- 32:03Speaker 4: I don't like television in general. The thing I struggle
- 32:06Speaker 4: with Sopranos is, first of all, Stevie van Zandt is
- 32:10Speaker 4: the guitarist and one of MY favorite bands, and now
- 32:12Speaker 4: he's just in the fucking show and he has like
- 32:14Speaker 4: a rubber wig on, and it was like, it just
- 32:19Speaker 4: feels so over the top and silly. And I get
- 32:22Speaker 4: Gandalfini's great and all the stuff, but I just I've
- 32:25Speaker 4: watched many episodes. I don't really he did.
- 32:29Speaker 3: He did. He did another show where he basically played
- 32:32Speaker 3: exactly the same character on on Netflix. I think it
- 32:35Speaker 3: was where he went to some location where they had
- 32:40Speaker 3: had the Winter Olympics in Norway. Okay, uh and he
- 32:45Speaker 3: was in witness protection but he was a gangster, any
- 32:50Speaker 3: any any idea on these.
- 32:52Speaker 4: Guys don't even have computers and got a half watch
- 32:58Speaker 4: out lillly Hammer. I think it was called la I
- 33:01Speaker 4: remember those Olympics. Yeah, and so he went he did
- 33:04Speaker 4: a show, but I don't And I say it was
- 33:05Speaker 4: on Netflix. And I only say that because I remember
- 33:08Speaker 4: we got the DVDs from Netflix in the mail when
- 33:11Speaker 4: they were pre streaming way back.
- 33:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:14Speaker 4: You were nine, Oh.
- 33:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I was really How old are you twenty twenty four?
- 33:19Speaker 3: Twenty four? Wow?
- 33:20Speaker 2: Just turned twenty four.
- 33:21Speaker 4: That's a fun age, Yeah is it? I don't know.
- 33:24Speaker 2: I don't really do anything fun.
- 33:26Speaker 4: Mine was a little I'm a little hazy. I gotta
- 33:28Speaker 4: tell you. My twenties weren't so hot.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Yeah. When did you stop drinking?
- 33:34Speaker 4: Twelve and a half years ago, I was thirty. I
- 33:37Speaker 4: just turned thirty. Oh, I was like thirty and a
- 33:39Speaker 4: half I guess, but yeah, the hangovers start hitting your hard.
- 33:42Speaker 4: When you're thirty. You drink a little. I drink, Yeah,
- 33:46Speaker 4: you find like when you done. Like when I was
- 33:49Speaker 4: twenty five, I would drink and play basketball the next month,
- 33:51Speaker 4: like I would black out and throw up, and then
- 33:53Speaker 4: the next day play hoops fun.
- 33:54Speaker 3: Yeah, it was fine.
- 33:55Speaker 2: I couldn't do. I stopped drinking a year and a
- 33:58Speaker 2: half ago, and I was My hangovers were just like
- 34:02Speaker 2: I couldn't do anything at all. So I don't even
- 34:04Speaker 2: know what they would be like when I turned thirty.
- 34:06Speaker 2: But it was like I would be late for like
- 34:08Speaker 2: a one PM show that we did here.
- 34:10Speaker 4: But were you depressed or you were just like physically.
- 34:12Speaker 2: I would drink it till like five am. I would
- 34:15Speaker 2: have to wake up and go to the office. Yeah,
- 34:17Speaker 2: And it was kind of It wasn't even like I was.
- 34:19Speaker 2: It wasn't like I was like drinking alone or anything.
- 34:20Speaker 2: It was I just got caught up in comedy and
- 34:23Speaker 2: just getting fucking hammered every night.
- 34:25Speaker 3: I just want to say, you said you would drink
- 34:28Speaker 3: and play basketball. Yesterday, for whatever fucking reason, I decided
- 34:33Speaker 3: to play basketball for the first time in years, and
- 34:37Speaker 3: I played four pickup games and then I went drinking.
- 34:42Speaker 3: And uh, I don't think I slept more than ten
- 34:45Speaker 3: minutes last night.
- 34:47Speaker 2: Ten minutes from those I'm.
- 34:49Speaker 3: In such a bad that's another reason that really want
- 34:52Speaker 3: to smoke cigars? Yeah, I am shattered lead with that boy.
- 34:56Speaker 3: I was in so much pain after the basketball that
- 34:59Speaker 3: I went to the bodega and purchased three ten pound
- 35:03Speaker 3: bags of ice and had them load them like fire
- 35:06Speaker 3: logs on my arms to then walk through the streets
- 35:10Speaker 3: of Dumbo back to my apartment, where the guy, blessedly
- 35:13Speaker 3: my doorman, got me a baggage cart because I was
- 35:18Speaker 3: dropping them, and let me bring them up to my apartment,
- 35:21Speaker 3: where I filled my bathtub with cold water, put the
- 35:24Speaker 3: ice cubes in, and made a makeshift cold plunge.
- 35:28Speaker 4: Wow did you feel better after get this?
- 35:30Speaker 3: In order to check the temperature, I used my meat thermometer?
- 35:34Speaker 3: Oh wow? Yeah?
- 35:35Speaker 4: What was the temperature?
- 35:36Speaker 3: Forty one?
- 35:38Speaker 4: How long did you stay in there?
- 35:38Speaker 3: Five and a half minutes?
- 35:40Speaker 4: That's a lot?
- 35:41Speaker 2: Is that really?
- 35:42Speaker 3: How like?
- 35:43Speaker 2: Did you feel a noticeable difference from that.
- 35:44Speaker 3: Night and day?
- 35:45Speaker 2: Really?
- 35:45Speaker 3: I would be in such a worse place today had
- 35:47Speaker 3: I not done it. Just stops inflammation. I have a
- 35:49Speaker 3: lot of inflammation in my knees. I had gotten. You know,
- 35:52Speaker 3: I always get the dead legs somehow whenever I played basketball.
- 35:55Speaker 3: I don't know if there's like some guy boxing me
- 35:58Speaker 3: out who just gets down on his knees and elbows
- 36:00Speaker 3: me in the calf, but that's always what happens. It's
- 36:03Speaker 3: a calf issue. But we won all our games.
- 36:07Speaker 4: That's great.
- 36:07Speaker 2: What did you play with?
- 36:08Speaker 3: Did you just show up three other guys? We had
- 36:11Speaker 3: some ballers. You know, you play pick up like that?
- 36:14Speaker 2: If you it was just three strangers.
- 36:16Speaker 3: Yeah, say did you play four on four two on two,
- 36:18Speaker 3: four on four? I like that? And and and when
- 36:21Speaker 3: you have for some reason, when you play pickup, there's
- 36:24Speaker 3: always a guy who never misses a three ever, Right,
- 36:29Speaker 3: And we had we had two of those guys on
- 36:31Speaker 3: our team, and I don't know, like why they didn't
- 36:33Speaker 3: make the NBA, do you know what I mean? We're like,
- 36:37Speaker 3: you've taken nine threes and made every single one of
- 36:41Speaker 3: them and they've all been contested.
- 36:43Speaker 4: Wow, Well there's other guys that are all so good
- 36:45Speaker 4: at hitting threes. This is the thing.
- 36:47Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, I have one last quick story that was
- 36:50Speaker 3: I thought was kind of funny. I was trying to
- 36:52Speaker 3: organize the game because I got to the court at
- 36:54Speaker 3: like four thirty, and uh, you know, people were kind
- 36:57Speaker 3: of just shooting around, but you could tell people wanted
- 37:00Speaker 3: to play. And there was a woman who was shooting
- 37:03Speaker 3: and she had headphones on. And it's my understanding that
- 37:07Speaker 3: when you're organizing a game, you should the people who
- 37:10Speaker 3: are there first get first killing. And I had such
- 37:15Speaker 3: a strong feeling of not wanting to be sexist and
- 37:19Speaker 3: exclude her that and she was wearing headphones and shooting
- 37:23Speaker 3: that I went up to her and I went and
- 37:25Speaker 3: she took her headphone out, and I said, we're gonna
- 37:28Speaker 3: we're gonna play a game. Would you like to play?
- 37:30Speaker 3: And she went what. I go, We're gonna play. We're
- 37:34Speaker 3: gonna play a game. She goes no. And it was
- 37:39Speaker 3: like she not only rejected, she made me feel sexist
- 37:45Speaker 3: for trying to include her. That that happens a lot though.
- 37:48Speaker 4: People talk about all this inclusion, but oftentimes the people
- 37:50Speaker 4: were trying to include don't want to be included.
- 37:52Speaker 3: That's it.
- 37:52Speaker 4: They're like, I don't want to play with you fucking rapists.
- 37:55Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, she said kill what would make you think
- 37:58Speaker 3: that I would want to play basketball with seven dudes
- 38:01Speaker 3: who were two hundred pounds.
- 38:03Speaker 4: That reminds me of an old star. We used to play.
- 38:05Speaker 4: They used to be called it the Astoria Basketball. So
- 38:07Speaker 4: my first moved to New York. Basketball was so huge
- 38:09Speaker 4: for me because that's how I met everybody. There was
- 38:11Speaker 4: like a four on four game we had, like twelve
- 38:13Speaker 4: people would rotate out. There was like a little basketball
- 38:16Speaker 4: in the projects in Astoria and it was like Nate
- 38:18Speaker 4: Bargatsy and Dan Soder and ten.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Gram K and that's where you shot with the video with.
- 38:25Speaker 4: Yeah Yeah Johannis playing the Yeah. So we used to
- 38:29Speaker 4: play there and it was mostly white guys, you know,
- 38:33Speaker 4: a couple of couple of black guys played, but mostly
- 38:36Speaker 4: white guys. And then a neighborhood kid came over and
- 38:39Speaker 4: he's like, hey man, I'm gonna jump in. I play next,
- 38:41Speaker 4: And Nate Bargatsy tried to tell him like, oh no,
- 38:43Speaker 4: we're a group of friends. We're not just playing pickup ball.
- 38:46Speaker 4: We were all came as a group. But the way
- 38:48Speaker 4: Nate worded it was we only liked to play with
- 38:51Speaker 4: our own people, and he didn't see the issue. And
- 38:57Speaker 4: I was like Nate, that was fucking insane wet riproaring
- 39:00Speaker 4: argument because Nate was like, yeah, dude, like, well you
- 39:04Speaker 4: you don't want this guy to play. We're all friends,
- 39:06Speaker 4: we all came here when I can't. And I'm like, no, no,
- 39:08Speaker 4: I understand. But you said we want to play with
- 39:10Speaker 4: our own people. Yeah, and he's like, yeah, I meant comedians.
- 39:13Speaker 4: I'm like, no, I know what you meant, but you
- 39:17Speaker 4: do have a thick Southern accent. And you just told
- 39:19Speaker 4: a black teenager, yeah, that we only play with our
- 39:22Speaker 4: own kind.
- 39:22Speaker 3: You might you might have better luck on that stoop
- 39:24Speaker 3: over there if you can rally up a team a gang,
- 39:28Speaker 3: I don't know what you'd call it, and we'll challenge
- 39:30Speaker 3: you guys.
- 39:31Speaker 2: That sounds like a story that the black dude's probably like.
- 39:32Speaker 2: He's probably telling his like grandkids about that. Now, yeah,
- 39:36Speaker 2: be careful when you go to the basketball.
- 39:38Speaker 4: He's like, back in seven, you know, now it's better,
- 39:41Speaker 4: But I know, wait o seven, there'd be Southern boys
- 39:43Speaker 4: that would let you play.
- 39:44Speaker 3: It's the scene from American History accent.
- 39:46Speaker 4: Yeah, it was bad.
- 39:48Speaker 3: When he make he wins the game and forces him
- 39:50Speaker 3: to never come back with the words.
- 39:52Speaker 4: But he genuinely meant, oh yeah, Pierre, and it was
- 39:56Speaker 4: just unfortunate that that day the two black friends we
- 39:59Speaker 4: had a lives weren't present.
- 40:02Speaker 2: So that was accidental racism.
- 40:04Speaker 4: Yes, it happens.
- 40:05Speaker 2: It is funny for it to happen. And it's Nate
- 40:07Speaker 2: Bargotzi that was accidentally racist to you.
- 40:10Speaker 4: Well, now he's like the most famous Canadian in the
- 40:12Speaker 4: world along with Shane. But it'd be funny if that
- 40:14Speaker 4: guy sees him is like, oh yeah, that's the fucking dude.
- 40:17Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, he's a clean comment cancels him. Yeah. If
- 40:23Speaker 2: Nate Bargotzi got taken down for a basketball pickup game
- 40:28Speaker 2: and you.
- 40:28Speaker 4: Guy said playing full court, No, we did half court, okay, yeah,
- 40:32Speaker 4: because we needed to preserve the other half for that
- 40:34Speaker 4: one woman for the lady.
- 40:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:36Speaker 2: What lowered the hoop inside or outside?
- 40:39Speaker 3: Inside? Is that lifetime? There's one gym there. I mean,
- 40:42Speaker 3: you got you got some players in there, man, I'll
- 40:44Speaker 3: tell you it was It was fun and I did
- 40:48Speaker 3: I did well.
- 40:49Speaker 2: I will say, what was your points?
- 40:53Speaker 3: Uh? We we played to sixteen uh playing by ones,
- 40:57Speaker 3: ones and two ones and twos. Yeah, and I think
- 41:01Speaker 3: I had five points. One of which was was a three.
- 41:04Speaker 3: I only took one three, made it nice. And then
- 41:07Speaker 3: the one guy, the black guy on our team, who
- 41:09Speaker 3: was making all of the threes, went, good shot, my boy.
- 41:13Speaker 3: It was really nice.
- 41:15Speaker 4: I could jerk off to that. I didn't because I like,
- 41:18Speaker 4: I don't want to say boy to him. He said
- 41:23Speaker 4: thanks brother. Yeah.
- 41:27Speaker 3: I did reach out for a high five, which he granted,
- 41:31Speaker 3: and again that was the only high five issued in
- 41:34Speaker 3: the game, so I needed that extra affirmation, which was
- 41:39Speaker 3: too bad. But I man, I'll tell you I felt good.
- 41:44Speaker 3: We we we really we played well. We played as
- 41:46Speaker 3: a unit, a lot of picks, a lot of cut
- 41:48Speaker 3: of that, and they were passing and that's what wins
- 41:51Speaker 3: pickup games if you can actually move the ball and
- 41:53Speaker 3: you don't have some idiot who thinks he's a fucking
- 41:56Speaker 3: prodigy and hucks up threes all the time.
- 41:59Speaker 4: Absolutely, yeah, we should play sometime.
- 42:01Speaker 3: You play.
- 42:01Speaker 2: No, No, I'm very unathletic. Oh that's too I struggle
- 42:05Speaker 2: with uh. Basketball was actually always been one that I like,
- 42:07Speaker 2: I don't even try to play because I'm so bad.
- 42:10Speaker 2: I'm like I did. I did like basketball camp when
- 42:13Speaker 2: I was in like middle school. They were just hap
- 42:15Speaker 2: it at like the gym at our high school, and uh,
- 42:19Speaker 2: I was the worst in the whole grade by like
- 42:21Speaker 2: a mile. Wow, what time are you from again, I'm
- 42:24Speaker 2: from Duxbury. Oh de Luxebury, de Luxbury.
- 42:27Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, we played you really witmen handsOn in basketball.
- 42:30Speaker 2: I guess that makes sense. Yeah, everything you played basketball
- 42:33Speaker 2: in high school?
- 42:33Speaker 4: No, I didn't play in high school.
- 42:34Speaker 3: I was.
- 42:35Speaker 4: I was in travel. Well, this is what happened. I
- 42:37Speaker 4: ran across country my freshman year because I was like, oh,
- 42:39Speaker 4: I could run, I'll join this team. And then it
- 42:43Speaker 4: came time for like basketball, and I had fallen in
- 42:46Speaker 4: love with my track coach and all these guys, and
- 42:48Speaker 4: I was like, I'll just do winter track, but I'm
- 42:49Speaker 4: gonna just keep playing baseball. I love baseball. That was
- 42:51Speaker 4: my game. And then when it was time for spring.
- 42:54Speaker 4: I was a bad student, to believe it or not.
- 42:56Speaker 4: I know I have glasses, but I was ineligible athletically
- 42:59Speaker 4: and because I failed, that's so surprising. I failed geometry
- 43:03Speaker 4: and intro to computers. Yeah, I was like a retarded person.
- 43:08Speaker 4: I really failed.
- 43:10Speaker 2: I told the story on the last episode about how
- 43:11Speaker 2: almost didn't graduate because my grades.
- 43:13Speaker 4: I almost didn't graduate Also, it's so strange because usually
- 43:16Speaker 4: shapes and computers are the things they gravitate to it. Yeah,
- 43:19Speaker 4: so I guess maybe just you know, stupid.
- 43:23Speaker 2: But did you try or was it just no?
- 43:25Speaker 4: I didn't try. Well, this is the thing. I'm a stupid,
- 43:27Speaker 4: full minded person. Yeah, I hated home. I still believe
- 43:31Speaker 4: there shouldn't be homework. It doesn't make sense to me.
- 43:35Speaker 4: And I was an athlete. So I was like, I'm
- 43:37Speaker 4: going to school from eight am to two pm, and
- 43:40Speaker 4: I have practiced from three to five, and now you
- 43:41Speaker 4: want me to go home and do work and do work.
- 43:44Speaker 4: I'm working longer than my parents.
- 43:45Speaker 3: Are you sound like Alan Iverson?
- 43:48Speaker 4: We're talking about practice.
- 43:49Speaker 3: You sound like a UNC like fucking center. It just
- 43:53Speaker 3: didn't make sense to me. I have an enduring image
- 43:56Speaker 3: in my mind. I used to date a girl who
- 43:58Speaker 3: was in grad school at UNC, and I went down
- 43:59Speaker 3: there to visit her once and I had gone to
- 44:02Speaker 3: work out in the gym, and then I was walking
- 44:04Speaker 3: out and I saw some big shot UNC basketball player,
- 44:10Speaker 3: uh Hashim Thabid or somebody like that. I don't know.
- 44:13Speaker 3: Maybe he went to Yukon, I don't know. Either way,
- 44:15Speaker 3: some huge guy and he was wearing the full Yukon
- 44:19Speaker 3: basketball sweats and he had a tiny white guy walking
- 44:26Speaker 3: behind him carrying his backpack. Oh wow. And they were
- 44:30Speaker 3: going into the library and I was like, that kid
- 44:34Speaker 3: has been assigned to fucking shirpa. That guy through the
- 44:39Speaker 3: academic minimum requirements to keep him eligible. They all have that.
- 44:45Speaker 3: They all have like a kid.
- 44:47Speaker 4: Well, it's fascinating because I never understood it academically college sports,
- 44:51Speaker 4: because the tournament you're just gone for like a month. Yeah,
- 44:55Speaker 4: and then you're on the road. I don't understand how
- 44:56Speaker 4: it works, I guess, but I guess they just do
- 44:58Speaker 4: it through.
- 45:00Speaker 3: So in college, we had to play. In my senior year,
- 45:04Speaker 3: we made the IVY League Tournament, which was just four
- 45:06Speaker 3: of the teams in lacrosse, and Cornell was the best
- 45:10Speaker 3: of the IVY League schools that year, so they hosted
- 45:12Speaker 3: the tournament, which was all the way up in Ithaca,
- 45:15Speaker 3: New York, which, by the way, I think Cornell has
- 45:17Speaker 3: the highest successful suicide rate of any college in America.
- 45:21Speaker 3: Oh yeah, big time, because all the kids jump off
- 45:23Speaker 3: the Gorgon Bridge. Yeah. So that's a cool claim to fame.
- 45:26Speaker 2: Absolutely, And I read a whole story about that. Yeah,
- 45:29Speaker 2: I was much too young to be reading it.
- 45:31Speaker 4: And also the weather's so bad, that's just everyone's miserable.
- 45:34Speaker 4: That's what Cornell is Ithaca. Yeah, I didn't realize. And
- 45:38Speaker 4: we went up there, and it was during exam period.
- 45:41Speaker 4: You know, usually our season was over by that point
- 45:43Speaker 4: because we weren't good. But by this time we were
- 45:46Speaker 4: actually pretty solid that year, and we won the semi
- 45:50Speaker 4: final game against Penn and which meant we had to
- 45:53Speaker 4: stay another three days in this hotel in Ithaca, and
- 45:56Speaker 4: Harvard sent proctors on a plane to our hotel to
- 46:04Speaker 4: administer the finals in a conference room for all of
- 46:09Speaker 4: our all the kids that had final scheduled. Wow, they
- 46:12Speaker 4: didn't give them extensions. They didn't give them.
- 46:14Speaker 3: We had to wed I Luckily I didn't have it
- 46:17Speaker 3: because I was I always tried to opt for final
- 46:19Speaker 3: papers instead of exams, but like half our team had
- 46:23Speaker 3: X ten exams or whatever for which they had to
- 46:26Speaker 3: study around practice and games and then take them in
- 46:30Speaker 3: a fucking hotel conference room under the vigilant eye of proctors.
- 46:36Speaker 3: That sounds horrible, They don't. They never there was no oh, yeah,
- 46:40Speaker 3: we'll give you guys a couple extra days.
- 46:41Speaker 4: Good luck is that just like schools behind you.
- 46:44Speaker 3: You know, none of that is.
- 46:45Speaker 2: That like just like an Ivy League thing though, because
- 46:46Speaker 2: I've heard so many stories about like SEC schools with
- 46:50Speaker 2: like football, Like I remember I remember hearing a story
- 46:52Speaker 2: about Lamar Jackson when he was at where do you
- 46:55Speaker 2: go Louisville? I think you went to Louisville and he uh,
- 46:59Speaker 2: he didn't start his freshman year, and he was in
- 47:01Speaker 2: class every day and he became like good friends with
- 47:03Speaker 2: this other dude. It was the story was like the
- 47:05Speaker 2: other dude was telling it. And then the next year,
- 47:07Speaker 2: I think he played like one game as freshman year
- 47:09Speaker 2: and they were like, obviously he's going to be the
- 47:11Speaker 2: starter next year. And then the kid just never saw
- 47:13Speaker 2: him again. This was never never in class again. Yeah,
- 47:16Speaker 2: next thing you know, he's in the NFL. But like
- 47:19Speaker 2: those schools will.
- 47:20Speaker 4: Go out of their way, So yes, to your point,
- 47:23Speaker 4: I know that again at UNC, students there and I
- 47:27Speaker 4: think at USC, I remember Matt Leinert, they would have
- 47:30Speaker 4: first pick of classes that they could enroll in because
- 47:35Speaker 4: the belief was that their athletic schedules were so stringent
- 47:39Speaker 4: that they should have the ability to work their academics
- 47:42Speaker 4: in around.
- 47:44Speaker 3: Practice and weightlifting and stuff like that.
- 47:46Speaker 4: I think, at least in my experience the IVY League,
- 47:49Speaker 4: they did everything they could to distance themselves from any
- 47:53Speaker 4: preferential treatment for athletes.
- 47:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it makes sense.
- 47:56Speaker 3: You go to USC also, No, I went to Harvard,
- 47:58Speaker 3: but I knew that, but I thought maybe no. Well,
- 48:00Speaker 3: I remember Matt Lioner took ballroom dancing with his girlfriend
- 48:04Speaker 3: and they were the only two people in the class.
- 48:06Speaker 3: Because he was such a celebrity on campus that they
- 48:09Speaker 3: were like, we need to create special academic shit for him.
- 48:12Speaker 4: Do you know know, a savage, Were you there at
- 48:13Speaker 4: the same time as he he was.
- 48:14Speaker 3: At Princeton Princeton, that's right, that's rights he did.
- 48:18Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, it kind of.
- 48:21Speaker 2: It doesn't evenally even make sense though, Like the trying
- 48:23Speaker 2: to keep the athlete, Like if you're a really good
- 48:24Speaker 2: athlete in any college at this point and you're getting
- 48:26Speaker 2: the nil money, like how were you supposed to stay? Like, say,
- 48:31Speaker 2: they didn't give you the help that you needed to
- 48:32Speaker 2: pass the classes. Like if you're going if you know
- 48:35Speaker 2: you're going to the NFL in two years, you're a freshman,
- 48:38Speaker 2: you go go into like Alabama, like and you're getting
- 48:43Speaker 2: paid millions of dollars now on top of that, like,
- 48:45Speaker 2: how are you gonna be like, yeah, well, I'm obviously
- 48:47Speaker 2: have to study math.
- 48:48Speaker 3: I think the I think the answer for that would
- 48:50Speaker 3: be like, well, now there's actually a literal amount of
- 48:52Speaker 3: money you stand to make if you stay eligible.
- 48:55Speaker 2: Oh that's true.
- 48:55Speaker 3: Do you know what I mean? It's now it makes
- 48:57Speaker 3: more sense. Yeah, it's it's easier to be like, dude,
- 49:00Speaker 3: just get a C minus.
- 49:02Speaker 2: That makes sense.
- 49:03Speaker 3: And here's eight hundred thousand dollars.
- 49:05Speaker 2: I think about that. Do they have to stay eligible
- 49:07Speaker 2: to get NIL money?
- 49:08Speaker 3: I think so.
- 49:09Speaker 2: I imagine yeah, makes sense.
- 49:11Speaker 3: Well they're not going to get the niml L money
- 49:12Speaker 3: if they're not eligible to play sports.
- 49:15Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true. That would be tough, you know, to
- 49:17Speaker 2: be really good to do that to pull that off.
- 49:21Speaker 3: I like it. I'm a big fan of the nil
- 49:24Speaker 3: thing because you're seeing guys who would be good draft
- 49:29Speaker 3: choices and high draft picks say no, no, I have
- 49:32Speaker 3: unfinished business here, and I'm going to come back for
- 49:35Speaker 3: another year because I'm now making money, right and I
- 49:39Speaker 3: actually care about winning a fucking championship. Yeah.
- 49:41Speaker 4: The hard thing that I was now basketball we had
- 49:43Speaker 4: four number one seats for only the second time ever.
- 49:45Speaker 4: This is kind of directly related to the nil, isn't it?
- 49:48Speaker 2: Oh yeah in the bracket? Yeah, in the march madness? Yeah?
- 49:51Speaker 3: Manor main boy? Who is Cooper Flag?
- 49:54Speaker 4: He's from May? Yeah, I didn't know that.
- 49:56Speaker 3: Man, Your knowledge of Maine is disappointing.
- 49:59Speaker 2: Come in in, boy, here we go.
- 50:02Speaker 3: Who was it?
- 50:03Speaker 2: Lisa?
- 50:04Speaker 3: Nope, not Jess.
- 50:05Speaker 2: Who was it?
- 50:06Speaker 3: I don't know. Some guy.
- 50:07Speaker 4: I'm hiding my cigar.
- 50:09Speaker 2: Trouble's coming.
- 50:10Speaker 4: Oh Jesus, now we're fine. I'm Jim Jeffries.
- 50:13Speaker 2: It was probably someone coming in looking for you.
- 50:15Speaker 3: What's the Jim Jeffries reference.
- 50:16Speaker 4: I just didn't want to be Joe listen.
- 50:20Speaker 3: Bad.
- 50:22Speaker 2: There's really not that many bad things that could happen
- 50:24Speaker 2: to you from this.
- 50:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess not. But I feel like you're not
- 50:27Speaker 4: gonna You're gonna be like, we would never do that,
- 50:30Speaker 4: all right, I'll.
- 50:31Speaker 2: Take all the blame. They get mad at me all
- 50:34Speaker 2: the time. Anyway.
- 50:35Speaker 3: Her Ball has some kind of nine life fucking agreement.
- 50:39Speaker 3: He just the blows just glanced off of him.
- 50:43Speaker 2: Well, I mean they'll say why were you smoking cigars?
- 50:45Speaker 2: And we'll say we gave the heads up and with
- 50:47Speaker 2: the air humanifiring, which is part of the agreement. I
- 50:50Speaker 2: don't see it's breaking any rules.
- 50:51Speaker 4: You know, what you need is a fan that just
- 50:52Speaker 4: blows it all out out to that. No way, it's
- 50:54Speaker 4: nice here, yeah, or really what we should be doing.
- 50:58Speaker 3: What we should do is we should stuff wet towel
- 51:00Speaker 3: at the base of the door, like we're teenagers in
- 51:03Speaker 3: our bathroom.
- 51:05Speaker 4: I think it's going up pretty good.
- 51:07Speaker 2: You ever do the thing with the I mean, it
- 51:09Speaker 2: is thick, I.
- 51:10Speaker 4: Can't see, Yeah, it can't. Yeah, I'm having a hard
- 51:13Speaker 4: time seeing the guys that don't.
- 51:14Speaker 2: Do Do you ever do the thing in high school
- 51:20Speaker 2: with the paper towel tube and the dryer sheet that
- 51:24Speaker 2: you blow the smoke out of? No, like smoking weed
- 51:26Speaker 2: and you blow it out of that and it like
- 51:28Speaker 2: filters the smoke so it doesn't smell like weed.
- 51:30Speaker 3: No, my god, no, it was.
- 51:31Speaker 2: Kind of I don't think it ever actually worked.
- 51:33Speaker 4: I never smoked weed in high school. To me, the
- 51:35Speaker 4: idea of being high in high school is like mind blowing.
- 51:39Speaker 4: Why like just be it? Like, I mean, I haven't
- 51:41Speaker 4: been high in a long time, but like the being
- 51:43Speaker 4: stoned in high school is like terrifying to me. I
- 51:46Speaker 4: can't you're talking about in school itself, yeah, or at
- 51:50Speaker 4: night on the weekend. I'm talking about in school because
- 51:52Speaker 4: there are people that smoked weed before school for school,
- 51:55Speaker 4: and yeah.
- 51:55Speaker 2: We had kids when when I was in high school,
- 51:57Speaker 2: like the repointing to me, I don't.
- 51:59Speaker 3: Know, you just named some crazy mcguiver solution. Yeah, I mean,
- 52:04Speaker 3: I've never even heard of your fucking weird blow play.
- 52:07Speaker 2: I didn't know. There's gonna be a lot of people
- 52:08Speaker 2: that have heard of that. But the when I was
- 52:12Speaker 2: in high school, that was when like the the dab
- 52:15Speaker 2: pen started coming out, like the So kids would just
- 52:18Speaker 2: go to the bathroom and they'd come back and they'd
- 52:20Speaker 2: be like, hi as fuck, and you'd be walking. You'd
- 52:22Speaker 2: be like leaving school and you'd see one of your
- 52:24Speaker 2: buddies and his eyes would just be like dark red
- 52:27Speaker 2: and you'd be like, you're fucked dude.
- 52:28Speaker 3: Can we tell the story from last week about what
- 52:31Speaker 3: you and me when the chain hated, after the after
- 52:37Speaker 3: the stand, after our spots.

- 52:42Speaker 4: can sell it.

- 56:00Speaker 2: you know, yeah, every day, no fun. That room is
- 56:04Speaker 2: that's my home base.
- 56:05Speaker 3: It's tough.
- 56:06Speaker 2: That's my home glove, that's a tough home base. I
- 56:10Speaker 2: actually think it's made me a lot better at comedy.
- 56:13Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I think if you're like I think, if
- 56:15Speaker 4: you're young and hungry and developing.
- 56:18Speaker 3: It's great.
- 56:19Speaker 4: But yeah, if you're like I know how to do comedy,
- 56:22Speaker 4: I'm just trying to work.
- 56:23Speaker 2: Some stuffy Yeah, it can be tough, but no, I
- 56:27Speaker 2: can't say anything about it because that's the only place
- 56:29Speaker 2: that I'm booked.
- 56:29Speaker 4: No, I do it all the time. It's just tough
- 56:32Speaker 4: that I know how to fix that room.
- 56:34Speaker 2: By the way, what is your suggestion, because I got
- 56:36Speaker 2: a suggestion too.
- 56:37Speaker 4: I have a few that would make it much better.
- 56:39Speaker 4: One is, don't have fucking dance music at volume three.
- 56:43Speaker 4: It's bleeding through the room, which is completely not the
- 56:45Speaker 4: one and only comedy room that has music play.
- 56:48Speaker 2: Have you ever done that room? Like eleven pm on?
- 56:52Speaker 2: But also the drum that's.
- 56:54Speaker 4: Yes, but this is very inside baseball. Maybe people haven't
- 56:57Speaker 4: been there. But they should make the stage like half
- 56:59Speaker 4: as high. It should be way lower. The stage at
- 57:02Speaker 4: this club is twice as high as the stage downstowns Zeros.
- 57:06Speaker 4: It's too bright and they should move the stage to
- 57:08Speaker 4: the other side side so the door. What happens is
- 57:11Speaker 4: I'm pointing at the audience, I guess, but every time
- 57:13Speaker 4: someone comes in it's next to the stage, so they
- 57:16Speaker 4: look over there. Yeah, but the stage is way too
- 57:18Speaker 4: fucking big. That's my That was my exact yeah thing
- 57:21Speaker 4: that I said. I think all comedy stages should be low.
- 57:24Speaker 2: Should be like like Philly Helium, where like you're the
- 57:27Speaker 2: tables are above the stage.
- 57:28Speaker 4: You're like four inches higher. Yeah, exactly.
- 57:30Speaker 2: When I do when I do shows in the upstairs room,
- 57:32Speaker 2: sometimes I'll find myself like, I don't even remember that
- 57:36Speaker 2: the front rows there, Like I'm using the second row
- 57:38Speaker 2: as the front row. Right, just standing on top of
- 57:40Speaker 2: the front row.
- 57:41Speaker 4: It feels like you're sexually assaulting standing over them. You
- 57:43Speaker 4: just want to come on their face.
- 57:45Speaker 2: If I just squatted down a t bag them.
- 57:47Speaker 4: Yes.
- 57:48Speaker 3: Nice.
- 57:49Speaker 4: So I feel like this was very inside people like
- 57:50Speaker 4: we don't.
- 57:51Speaker 2: Know, No, no, we talk about the stand all the time.
- 57:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm just letting you guys rip because I personally
- 57:55Speaker 3: think I'm very grateful. Just have any spots there too
- 58:00Speaker 3: all the time. Yeah, yeah, no, I know. I just
- 58:02Speaker 3: I remember a time when I was fighting for check
- 58:04Speaker 3: spots that stayed up New York and battling through all that,
- 58:07Speaker 3: and you know, totally, my journey of hardship through the
- 58:10Speaker 3: New York comedy scene is recent in memory. So to me,
- 58:13Speaker 3: the upstairs room in the standards.
- 58:15Speaker 2: I think my exactly words, where that's my home away
- 58:17Speaker 2: from home.
- 58:18Speaker 3: Yeah, and then you went on to draw the blueprints
- 58:20Speaker 3: on improvements, and.
- 58:22Speaker 2: That's constructive criticism.
- 58:25Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, my eyes are burning. This is terrible.
- 58:35Speaker 2: I feel fine.
- 58:35Speaker 4: Well, well, by the way part of this started because
- 58:38Speaker 4: you I just remember this, I said a memory, you
- 58:40Speaker 4: said we could do a rooftop episode. That was what
- 58:43Speaker 4: I was like, Oh, we could smoke on the roof.
- 58:45Speaker 4: That would be amazing.
- 58:46Speaker 3: Where did you get the idea?
- 58:47Speaker 2: That was a complete joke where.
- 58:51Speaker 4: That's that's if we started this like, oh, we could
- 58:53Speaker 4: smoke during the show, and then you were like, you
- 58:55Speaker 4: want to smoke during the show, We'll smoke during the show.
- 58:58Speaker 3: That is true.
- 58:59Speaker 2: You were the first one you said we could smoke
- 59:01Speaker 2: during the show. I said, you really did cook this up.
- 59:03Speaker 2: And I tried to impress the emoking cars all the time.
- 59:06Speaker 4: That was a rooftop thing. So you're saying, is not
- 59:10Speaker 4: even a rooftop.
- 59:11Speaker 2: Though the there isn't because we're on the third floor
- 59:13Speaker 2: of story building. But we could. I was joking about
- 59:19Speaker 2: going outside, but that was because we get charged like
- 59:22Speaker 2: twenty thousand dollars.
- 59:23Speaker 4: That twenty thousand might be better than what we're doing here.
- 59:27Speaker 3: Between the fines and the complaints, it's gonna add up
- 59:30Speaker 3: to it.
- 59:31Speaker 2: Wow, it'll be a lot of upstairs spots at the
- 59:34Speaker 2: stand for me to pay them back.
- 59:35Speaker 4: I might do the rest of my eyes closed just
- 59:36Speaker 4: because my eyes are kind of burning.
- 59:39Speaker 3: That might be allergies.
- 59:41Speaker 4: No, No, it's the smoke. It's definitely. It's a very
- 59:44Speaker 4: specific smoke.
- 59:46Speaker 3: I was gonna say, I've been really fighting my allergies.
- 59:48Speaker 4: I never had allergies most of my life, and just
- 59:50Speaker 4: the last last few years have been fucking killing me.
- 59:52Speaker 2: Oh. I bought something for you, Francis, did you Yeah?
- 59:55Speaker 2: Got it right here.
- 59:56Speaker 4: That's so sweet. It's a pollen plant.
- 59:59Speaker 2: It's rotos.
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: I though that was gonna be big.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: Okay, Rhodoye drops.
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: I'll try it, thank you.
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: I got the extra extra strength.
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: Yeah, now what does that do?
- 1:00:09Speaker 8: Uh?
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: Fran has been complaining about his eyes had been super
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: richy lately, so I was like, I'm gonna get him.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: I keep on telling him to buy these eye drops,
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: but I know he's not gonna buy.
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: Him hairball for whatever reason makes a daily pilgrimage to
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: Dwayne Reid.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: Well, I go every morning to get a kind bar
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: and a red bull.
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: I love that. Yeah, it's just I don't. I don't.
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: I don't go into CBS or Write eight or Dwayne
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: Reid unless fucking world demands it.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: Oh, I go to I try to go every day.
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: I don't like those I love them, I would say,
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: especially the one right here on twenty eighth and seventh.
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: There is a fifty to fifty chance that I'm going
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: to be part of stopping someone from shoplifting.
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: M Yeah, it is not that. It's pretty common that
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: you'll walk in to that one and you'll be like, oh,
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: what happened to the door, because yeah, or all of
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: a sudden, it's just a piece of plywood or something.
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a tough, tough areo over here.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: Oh yeah, because we have penn stations, just a couple
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: of blocks.
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: Well, only seven more years on our twelve year least.
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: I think we might be able to get out of
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: it with the smoke. Yeah.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: True, Surprisingly you would think they don't give a fuck.
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: The building doesn't care either.
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: I gotta be honest with you. I've totally coming around
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: on the cigars. I'm loving the cigars. You're tapping out.
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: I feel like you we're losing no tap left on yours.
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: I got this body, you're looking at it.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: You're having some issues. You're gonna want some rodos.
- 1:01:29Speaker 11: Well.
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: The warning on these is that they hurt extremely when
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: you put them in, and then after you put them in,
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: it feels like someone just fucking it feels like you
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: just got an oil changed on your eyes.
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I think I'll skip it. In my eyes. I
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: do have itchy eyes that fucking hurt eyes.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: Like they it feels like you can roll them into
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: the like you just do whatever with your eyes.
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: So it's like, Luke, that looks like a loop.
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: Yeah, it is. As I was hauling my fire logs
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: of ice bags back to my apartment, my forearms were
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: reasing and I was getting you know, freezer burn on
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: my arms, and the weight was really bad, and I
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: started reciting that Navy seal mantra of pain is just
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: weakness leaving the body.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: I don't know if I've heard that one, and.
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: Then I quickly sort of responded my subconscious with you know,
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: unless unless it's blood leaving the body, in which case
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: you're dying. Yeah. Yeah, so there are occasions where pain.
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: Pain is not weakness. You're becoming weaker.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: Oh absolutely, if you get shot in the head or anywhere.
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: Really anywhere.
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: Yeah, you're not saying like now there it goes. Look
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: at that my pussification leaking out of my emeral artery.
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: That reminds me one time.
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: I was when I first really got into Eastern philosophy
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: and Buddhism.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: I was really, did you know, sorry, no, please, nope,
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: we talked about Buddhism in the last episode.
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: Oh and he's just repeating the worst episode. You're like
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: the King of comedy call into this episode suck everything,
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: saying it was like, oh that was on the left
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: of the side. I'm like, oh, perfect. But I had
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: a moment like that where I got really into Buddhism
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: and just feeling feeling and mindfulness. And I was in
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: Minneapolis to bring it back to Somalia. I got in
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: the van like a taxicab, it is a van, and
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: I put a hot tea between my feet like a
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: fuck yah because I had to buckle up whatever, and
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: it's spilled the cap. The top came off and it
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: burned my foot and I thought this is my chance
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: to use mindfulness. So I sat and just felt the
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: sensation physically. And that's not what you're supposed to do
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: when you have something burning your skin. You're supposed to
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: get the thing off your skin. So I sat and
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: just let it soak through my socket. I ended up
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: with a third degree or first degree, which is the bad.
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: The third degree is the worst.
- 1:03:48Speaker 4: Oh, then I got first degree, the opposite of murder. Yeah.
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: Third degree is like you like you're.
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I got a first degree burned. It
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: was like like bright red all the way. The skin
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: was like gone, and it scabbed ouble a big deal.
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: But I was just sat there thinking, like I'm gonna
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: really use this thing. Yeah, and it was supposed to no, no,
- 1:04:08Speaker 4: it fucking burned. Yeah, you're supposed to get rid of
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: the supposed to put on it, like stop put out
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: the fire.
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: I tried to do that when I went in the shower.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: When I have to shower and there's no hot water,
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: try to go, I'm gonna be mindful here.
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: Yeah that makes more sense, but I still suck with that.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: I'm a big pussy with the cold water stuff.
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: It's tough.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: I also just don't really feel like I need it.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: Like I'm like the you're you're really into the cold
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: the cold bath.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: Look, I realized that people have different a p No,
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: I'm just saying personally, I cannot ignore how much better
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: I feel when I exercise then do cold thing. I
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: I feel better after.
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: Yeah, he hit a great one. He was telling me
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: he's big into the cold bath and he was gonna
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: buy it or he was trying to get a company
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: to send him one. And it was like, I did
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: pulled that off, but was it like the eleven thousand
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: dollars one six thousand, six thousand, But there was an
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: eleven thousand dollars one and he was explaining it to
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: me and he was like, he was like, it's not
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: just a tub. He was like, it's a tub, but
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: it gets cold. And he's like, and then it's really
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: expensive so it gets hot too great, And I was like,
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: it sounds like a tub. Any sounds like any tub.
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: There is I'll tell you. Without the ice, I think
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: the tapwater from my bathtub yesterday would not have gotten
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: yeah than maybe fifty four degrees. And I like to
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: be down in the thirties if I can.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: Is that is cold? You think that's as cold as
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: the normal tapwater gets.
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: I would think so.
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: Yeah, mine feels like it gets down to the fucking twenties.
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: It get quite cold.
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: Yeah, twenty twentie.
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: You're running it from the fucking mountain spring that time fitness,
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: they must have a cold they don't. I asked, oh wow,
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: and they said they only have one at forty second Street.
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: I see.
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: I'm an equinox man and there's one that has a
- 1:05:55Speaker 4: cold bath on the upper East.
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: Is that what it's like with every gym because I'm
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: I'm a temple person and their whole thing is like,
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: we're a luxury gym, you know, And I like, I
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: spent a lot of money, and then you go and
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: they're like, well, no, actually the luxury gym is in
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: Hell's kitchen. Oh it's not here.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: I mean, I equinoxis are all very nice. I'm a
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: big steam guy. I steam every day. Steam's nice.
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: If I can't shout out redwood outdoors, that is the
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: the cold plunch I have. I have it said at
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: thirty six and I do five minutes.
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: Wow, how load does it go?
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: Uh?
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: I think that might be as low. It doesn't it's
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: not the ice forming one. There's one that there's a
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: different company that makes one that actually forms ice where
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: you have to break.
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: Yeah, you gotta break it open with like an axe
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: in the morning.
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: That's not a bad way to start your day though.
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: I mean, if you're are going to start your day
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: with an ice tub.
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean all of you is me trying to
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: acclimate myself for the day. When Joe Rogan asks me
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: to come on his pod where I presume we will
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: work out together before him.
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: No, he doesn't let it do that. This is what
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: Joe does. Mean you can do the show. He takes
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: you around his facility and he's like, this is my
- 1:07:02Speaker 4: bow and arrow thing. Yeah, this is the ice bat,
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: this is the fucking chamber whatever, the night the deprivation. Yeah,
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: and then he's got all this whole gym and then
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: you look at all of it, and then he's like,
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: all right, let's go buck us. And you're like, oh,
- 1:07:15Speaker 4: I thought we were gonna.
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: Use this wait to shoot some bows.
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: I thought, I remember Santino worked out with him before
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: he did an episode, So maybe I'll just have to
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: put the put the message in the night before.
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I think he doesn't like me.
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: You always so you say on every podcast, you're like,
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: my Rogan episode was the worst Rogan episode.
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought it was great. I love I did
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: a few. Yeah, well I'm the only guy that didn't
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: fucking sell tickets after people like I had somebody say
- 1:07:39Speaker 4: if you who, They're like, once you do Rogan, though,
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: then it's all said. I'm like, I've done it three
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: times yeah, and they're like, oh four.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: Times, no, really four you just do it again? No?
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: I think I think I did it four. I did
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: it once with Louis and I three times by myself.
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: There's no way that he doesn't like you.
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: If he had, he likes me. But I don't know.
- 1:08:02Speaker 4: I don't think he sees me as a workout guy.
- 1:08:04Speaker 4: Maybe I don't know. What time I tried to Pin.
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: I was like, oh, I've been doing MMA for a
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: couple of years now, and he was like, oh cool. Anyways,
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: so the pyramids were built like he was just like, dude,
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: get out of hand.
- 1:08:13Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: I was like, all right, well, I thought I only
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: did it so I would like me.
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: Have you ever seen the dude that makes those Instagram
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: videos and they're like uh. When Rogan decides the joke's over. Yeah,
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: And it's like three people going back and forth and
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: they're like and then the one guy's like yeah, and
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: then what if they were just like dinosaurs and they
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: were just like shooting lasers out of their eyes? And
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: then it cuts back to Rogan. He's like, why would
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: dinosaurs shoot lasers out of their eyes?
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: Yeah, he does that a little bit. I've had a
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: few of those. I was warned about that, and I'll
- 1:08:43Speaker 4: be like, oh man, I'm gonna kill myself and he's
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: like why and I was like, no, no, I'm not
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: really And he's like, but are you depressed? And I
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: was like no, no, just do a thing. I don't know.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: I just don't about.
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: I had one one time when I was on with Louis.
- 1:08:56Speaker 4: We were talking about AI and the future of AI
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: got and I was like, oh, love, they have AI
- 1:09:01Speaker 4: porn where you can just kind of be engulfed and
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: you watch porn. I would put my dad that way.
- 1:09:06Speaker 4: I could fuck my dad and your dad And I
- 1:09:13Speaker 4: was like no, no, just you know a bit. He's like,
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: you fuck your dad, dude, what's wrong with you? I
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: was like, I just thought it'd be a funny mystery.
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's hilarious.
- 1:09:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: I can't even imagine doing that. Were you nervous as
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: fuck the first time you did it or now the.
- 1:09:27Speaker 4: First time especially? Yeah, and it's long. I mean it's
- 1:09:29Speaker 4: a long show. I was nervous cause I was like, oh,
- 1:09:31Speaker 4: this is my big chance, and yeah it was hard.
- 1:09:35Speaker 4: I didn't I was just like, uhh yeah.
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: I can't imagine what my YEA account would be. My
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: yeah count on this podcast is already said yeah ten
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: thousand times.
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I just go I just did it right now? Sure, absolutely?
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: Oh yeah, big time. He also could say, you know,
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: I think the Nazis were right, and I'd be like,
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: uh huh yeah all that. Of course, I'm just very agreeable.
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: I think that too. Why do you think that?
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: Exactly? You talk and I'll just be over here.
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: You explain why the Nazis are good.
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: I I have I go through mental gymnastics. I rehearse
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: conversations that I will someday have with Joe Rogan where
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: I am trying to dig myself out of holes. Oh yeah,
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: and I have never heard any hint that I will
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: ever be invited on that podcast. And I'm already worried
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: about getting in trouble or sayings.
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: Now.
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: I've done that myself with many podcasts where I'm like, oh,
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: here's the thing, and then you're like, I'm just talking
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: to myself here. Sometimes I tell myself, I'm gonna I'm
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: gonna ask him questions that other people have been too
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: afraid to.
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: Right, I'm going to and he'll respect me for it,
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: you know what I mean. And I congratulate myself. You know.
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: Sometimes the thing you think people will respecting you is not.
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: Like when I first opened for Louis, He's like, he's
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: doing this big arena tour and I said not a
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: couple days because I was like, I'm going to go.
- 1:11:01Speaker 4: I got a family week. I'm going to Maine actually,
- 1:11:04Speaker 4: and I can't do it. And then years later I
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: was like, I think that's what got me in. He
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: saw that I'm like a man who was willing to
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: say no, and he's like, what, I didn't know that.
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: He just said you were unavailable. I don't care. But
- 1:11:18Speaker 4: it was like years of me being like, that's how
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: I did it. I stayed true to myself and he
- 1:11:22Speaker 4: respected and he's like, I don't even know what you're
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: talking about.
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: I was like, oh, all right.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: I remember when I opened for Shane in Buffalo. That
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: was like the one time I got. I opened for
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: him on the road, and I remember I was like
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: that was just like that was everything. I like, that
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: was unbelievable, all this shit. And then Rowan, our other
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: co host, went on his podcast and he was like,
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: what made you, uh like bring harry on? Like was
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: you called him up to the big leagues? And he
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: was like, none of my friends were around. I was like, fuck,
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: I thought he like saw saw me do a set
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: or something, and yeah, that was great.
- 1:11:56Speaker 4: I had that with Louis too early on when I
- 1:11:58Speaker 4: first met I didn't telling friends. He was just seller.
- 1:12:00Speaker 4: He was hanging out and he I talked about how
- 1:12:02Speaker 4: big of a fan of the show Louis I was,
- 1:12:04Speaker 4: and they told me this long episode that he shot
- 1:12:07Speaker 4: with Who's Joey from Friends?
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: What's that guy name? Matthew?
- 1:12:11Speaker 4: Matthew LeBlanc. They went to high school together, Oh well,
- 1:12:13Speaker 4: we graduated together. And he told me this long episode
- 1:12:16Speaker 4: and the whole time I was like, I don't remember
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: this at all, but I don't want him to think
- 1:12:21Speaker 4: I was full of shit. So I was like, all right,
- 1:12:22Speaker 4: when he finishes talking, just be like oh I love that.
- 1:12:25Speaker 4: It was so good. And then at the last minute
- 1:12:27Speaker 4: I was like, actually I don't remember that. He was like,
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: oh yeah it never aired. It was we did ended
- 1:12:32Speaker 4: up hutting it. So relieved that I wasn't like it
- 1:12:36Speaker 4: was perfect, yeah, because I would have been the hosts
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: that he would have hated me for life.
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: Yeah, he would have seen that you were not the
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: family man. I was a basis shit you professed honest.
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: Well, one time my wife did Colbert I think it was,
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: and they pre tape it. It hadn't come out yet, and
- 1:12:54Speaker 4: a comic who I'll tell you off air was like, dude,
- 1:12:58Speaker 4: Sarah killed it.
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: She was.
- 1:13:00Speaker 4: I was like, it has not. You have not seen
- 1:13:02Speaker 4: it for sure, yeah, which is so funny to me
- 1:13:04Speaker 4: because I'm like, all you have to do is say, hey,
- 1:13:07Speaker 4: I heard your wife did Colbert. I hope it went great.
- 1:13:09Speaker 4: I can't wait to watch it. I'm gonna watch it,
- 1:13:11Speaker 4: so like, it doesn't pay to just lie. Yeah, you're
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: look at a fucking network.
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: Have you ever been You've ever been walked into a lie?
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: Has anyone you know ever known that you were teetering
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: on a on a mistruth and then walked you to
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: the fucking firing squad.
- 1:13:28Speaker 4: I don't think so. I try to be real honest
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: as much as I can, because if you don't lie,
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: you don't have to remember anything.
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: True.
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: It was an old adage.
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: Yeah, true.
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: I used to lie all the time when I was younger,
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: same mask. I just constantly, well, it's mostly about homework.
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: Do you do your homework? Yeah? Yeah, And then I'll
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: drag it out for like weeks and they'd be like,
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: there's a zero because we had like the online thing
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: where you could check yeah, and they're like, well, you
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: got a zero percent for it. I'm be likeeah, it's
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: a mistake. I'll talk to the teacher.
- 1:13:57Speaker 4: Tomorrow's supposed to be a one in a zero.
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: In front of that zero, I think, oh, so you
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: were lying to your parents about it. Yeah.
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I'd be like, teachers a fucking moron. I'll get
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: it fixed.
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: This is his method. He denigrates the authority.
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: Oh we got we gotta talk about that the least.
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: So on the last episode we did, the one that
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: went so poorly.
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: Uh, he not made it to the last five minutes.
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: Eighty percent of the way through the episode, he gets
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: a call and he goes, I gotta take this. I
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: go ahead. He takes it on the pod and it's
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: his landlord.
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: Who I don't know. I've never met the guy, never
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: dealt with him.
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: And he is an older Russian guy.
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: Who I think he's actually Jewish.
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: There are Russian Jews.
- 1:14:41Speaker 4: Oh okay, yeah, millions of that.
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: I guess that makes sense.
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: Yeah, why yeah, no, no, no, he's just rarely Russia
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: and Judy is mutually exclusive. Uh so, So he calls
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: him and and Harry has is two weeks delinquent on
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: signing his lease extension and the guy is chewing him
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: out for it on the phone, and we can hear
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: what the guy's saying through the phone.
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: He's a scary guy. Yeah, he doesn't. He doesn't play
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: it like it's not like like I think the exact
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: words where I said. He was like, you haven't signed
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: your lease and I was like, oh, yeah, I apologize.
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: I was like, did you guys send it through mail
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: or email? And he goes mail and I was like,
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: all right, that's my bad. I'm so sorry, Like I'll
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: fill it out today, and he goes, I don't want
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: your apologies, sign the lease or get out.
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: Oh wow, and Harry got it. Harry it was apologetic,
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: hung up the phone, and then spent the next ten
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: minutes just absolutely fucking torching this guy because he's a
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: dick and a dick he's like, he's like, who calls people?
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: Who talks to people that way? I'm paying the rent,
- 1:15:52Speaker 3: you know. And then I was like, well, you know,
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: I tried to say, I think you got to sign
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: the lease.
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, which what I was going to say was
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: I got home, checked the mail. No lease had to
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: find it online.
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: Oh okay, but he had emailed it to you.
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: Yes, but he said they sent it in the mail.
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: Well that's a clerical It says his word. It didn't
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: send back, right.
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: But if he said if he said, well, you know what,
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: it's not even worth arguing on this one.
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: Well it's kind of a big deal.
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: Now he had sent the lease if he says an email.
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: But he thought I sent it on sented in mail
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: that was on the during the phone call.
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: And yet you said the reason you had not seen
- 1:16:35Speaker 3: it was because it was in the mail and you
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: don't check your mail.
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: Yeah, but I kind of I got out of it
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: because he never sent it in the mail. Did you
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: texted you?
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: Did you speak to him about it? No?
- 1:16:46Speaker 4: No?
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: What am I going to do? Call him back and go,
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: it's not in the mail?
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: Have you? Oh?
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: Yes, I signed it a second I got home.
- 1:16:52Speaker 4: There you go.
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: Yeah, but he is an asshole because he gave me
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: that same call last year.
- 1:16:56Speaker 4: But what if he listens to this, That's what I
- 1:16:57Speaker 4: was what he said, and Owen up a very funny
- 1:17:00Speaker 4: clip of the exchange, which I was excited about, and
- 1:17:04Speaker 4: Hairball said, we're not posting that.
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: Meanwhile, podcast, I said, I don't know if we have
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: to clip it.
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: The whole thing is live on our YouTube, right.
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: Yeah, now we're now we're coming up with this hypothetical
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: where my like ninety year old mobster landlord listens to
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: the Son of a Boy Dad podcast in full.
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: Why is it's to me, it's not that different that
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: he would find it by watching being pointed to it
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: in the episode, But.
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: There's nothing we didn't say.
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: This is like him scrolling Twitter and being like, what
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: the what the fuck? Yeah?
- 1:17:36Speaker 4: I guess it is tough when sometimes I've had this
- 1:17:39Speaker 4: because I was just talking about this. We have a
- 1:17:41Speaker 4: company that clips stuff from our podcast and it'll be
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: all on the Patriot, like which picture You're like, no,
- 1:17:46Speaker 4: only these people are listening, and I'll talk about, you know,
- 1:17:50Speaker 4: finger fucking my wife's friend or something, and then they
- 1:17:53Speaker 4: put as a clip and I'm like, wow, what are
- 1:17:54Speaker 4: you crazy? Now it's like in the algorithm. Yeah, so yeah,
- 1:17:59Speaker 4: I get it. I get the wanted.
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: I just didn't want because, like, I don't think there's
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: any way he would ever find it, mostly because there's
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: no one knows where I live.
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: Right. I had a question for you actually that I
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: wanted to ask, which is that you have a child. Now, yes,
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: Mark just had a child. Do you think that with
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: you know, premier comedians like yourselves, who people like us
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: look up to, uh, sort of starting to place more
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: of a priority on your family life, that the sort
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: of dedicated let's call it old school comedies. Everything comedian
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: is a dying breed. That you're setting a bad example.
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: I'm setting a bad example. Yeah, what do you mean
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: by having a child and becoming a family man?
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: Well, no, because I mean the most of the best comics,
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: the biggest comics have kids.
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: To be honest with you, I was totally kidding with
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: this question, but oh jeez, I'm like so self conscious.
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: I was like, oh my god, it's not going.
- 1:18:54Speaker 4: To ruin my career now, Why would ruin my career?
- 1:18:56Speaker 4: Why would it be broke? Have my money? It was
- 1:18:59Speaker 4: a terrible of a joke, Jesus. I was like, no, no,
- 1:19:03Speaker 4: but I'm like so in my head, I'm like, I
- 1:19:04Speaker 4: have a kid. Now, all my money I'm gonna lose.
- 1:19:07Speaker 4: I'm gonna get fucking No one's gonna like me.
- 1:19:09Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, I was genuinely like, I'm sorry.
- 1:19:13Speaker 4: You're like triggering me. I think I could still do it.
- 1:19:16Speaker 4: I'm like Louis George Carl.
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: Had a kid prior Chris Rock Yeah, who said famously
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: that his comedy career didn't really take off until he
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: had children.
- 1:19:25Speaker 4: Yeah, because now it's now I gotta make money. Guy
- 1:19:28Speaker 4: fired on this couch?
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: Is that okay? Yeah?
- 1:19:30Speaker 4: Alright, I mean I'm smoking us.
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: I don't think anyone will notice. Imagine they come in
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: for that.
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: Yeah, they're like, who the fuck farted? God damn.
- 1:19:41Speaker 4: You you're just a cloud of smoking.
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: There's a lie.
- 1:19:45Speaker 4: Yeah, come on, workplace does feel like a very nice
- 1:19:50Speaker 4: couch that we're destroyed.
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: Oh, don't even don't even worry about the fucking couch.
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. This is just here.
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: I had rehearsed that question.
- 1:20:02Speaker 4: No, I blew it in my mind, but it was
- 1:20:04Speaker 4: so earnest that I was like, no, I don't think so. Geez.
- 1:20:08Speaker 3: Yeah, the the.
- 1:20:10Speaker 4: Number one cameras on the ground.
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: I don't know what.
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: I mean.
- 1:20:14Speaker 4: There's the premiere camera shot.
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: Is that's too far away? We're not that's not cutting
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: through the camera. Is also like, c stand in front
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: of this camera. It looks like is that in the shot?
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: Yeah, that's your that's probably your tight shot.
- 1:20:27Speaker 4: Oh my eyes, I got any of those drops.
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: If that's what we're feeling.
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: I don't feel well.
- 1:20:37Speaker 4: I feel I feel oh my god. Yeah, I gotta
- 1:20:39Speaker 4: wrap up.
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: So I got I came around the cigar. Felt great.
- 1:20:42Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like a million bucks. I feel physically well.
- 1:20:45Speaker 4: I mean I stood up. When I stand up, I'll
- 1:20:46Speaker 4: probably fall down. But yeah, I'm going straight to the steamer.
- 1:20:49Speaker 4: I'll steam this right off for you. I'll wear my
- 1:20:51Speaker 4: clothes in the steam room.
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: That's not a bad idea. It's not a bad idea. Well,
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: Joe List, you have a lot of things to promote coming. Yeah,
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: I gotta does this come out tomorrow?
- 1:21:01Speaker 4: Oh wow? Yeah, well this week if you're in New
- 1:21:03Speaker 4: York or Los Angeles, those are very big cities. My
- 1:21:06Speaker 4: movie premieres this weekend and it lasts a week hopefully
- 1:21:11Speaker 4: a bit longer at the Quad Cinema here in New
- 1:21:13Speaker 4: York City and the Sunset Five Cinema in Los Angeles.
- 1:21:18Speaker 4: And that's called Tom Dustin Portrait of a Comedian. It's
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: a very good movie.
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: He's famously the guy that runs the place in Key West, right.
- 1:21:24Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, he runs it. It's about comedy and friendship
- 1:21:27Speaker 4: and success and alcoholism we have. It's really good movie.
- 1:21:30Speaker 4: I think it's not a documentary, right, it's a documentary.
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: It is okay, Yeah, it's just me and him kind
- 1:21:35Speaker 4: of bullshitting. He's on stage and he runs the comedy club,
- 1:21:37Speaker 4: and it's it's it's funny.
- 1:21:39Speaker 3: You have this love for indie films and sort of
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: you know, making like what are the short films? Right?
- 1:21:49Speaker 4: I made some short films, and yeah, I'm trying to
- 1:21:51Speaker 4: make longer, better films. Now, would you ever move more
- 1:21:55Speaker 4: into like blockbusters? I mean, I don't know, I never
- 1:21:59Speaker 4: liked blockbuster move but I'd like it to be a blockbuster.
- 1:22:01Speaker 4: I'd like this to take off and make money. For sure.
- 1:22:04Speaker 4: I spent a lot of my own money that I
- 1:22:06Speaker 4: can't probably make back. But unless you come, yeah, I mean,
- 1:22:10Speaker 4: I don't know. There's a camera on me. Frankly cinema. Yeah,
- 1:22:14Speaker 4: go buy tickets. So I'm trying to. By then, it's
- 1:22:16Speaker 4: gonna go nationwide May ninth, it's playing all over and
- 1:22:19Speaker 4: then I have a special coming out May twenty first,
- 1:22:21Speaker 4: also in theaters.
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: Where's that going to go?
- 1:22:23Speaker 4: It's going, uh, let's go theaters now, and then we're
- 1:22:26Speaker 4: gonna try to sell it. But possibly YouTube, I don't know,
- 1:22:28Speaker 4: maybe Netflix, but hell yeah, they don't put me on
- 1:22:32Speaker 4: very often.
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 1:22:33Speaker 4: Yeah, we'll see.
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: Well, you had that great half hour on Netflix.
- 1:22:35Speaker 4: I watch that, thank you. I thought it was great.
- 1:22:37Speaker 4: And then since then they've been like, who's this?
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: I'm sorry what and you YouTube specials are phenomenal?
- 1:22:42Speaker 4: Oh, thank you? Great? Yeah, this might go on YouTube.
- 1:22:44Speaker 4: So it's called small Ball. It's in theater, so you
- 1:22:46Speaker 4: can go to Joe List smallball dot com or Tom
- 1:22:49Speaker 4: Dustin doc dot com.
- 1:22:50Speaker 3: Those are it? They live great? Hell yeah, thanks guys,
- 1:22:54Speaker 3: all right, that's Joe list everybody. We'll see you next week.
- 1:22:58Speaker 4: Thank you, possibly from a different studio. Are we smoking
- 1:23:10Speaker 4: cigars today?
- 1:23:11Speaker 6: I think so?
- 1:23:11Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:23:11Speaker 11: What?
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:23:12Speaker 4: Why goes a big cigar guy?
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: I did not, but.
- 1:23:17Speaker 4: I said, this is crazy.
- 1:23:18Speaker 6: I are we really? Why?
- 1:23:21Speaker 12: Because it'll be fun.
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: We have to clear it?
- 1:23:24Speaker 7: What do you mean?
- 1:23:25Speaker 13: We have to tell them and then they get the
- 1:23:27Speaker 13: air thing up here?
- 1:23:28Speaker 11: Here?
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: You got the air did we?
- 1:23:30Speaker 4: Yeah, it's up here? To take any heat for this?
- 1:23:33Speaker 12: This was not I don't know.
- 1:23:35Speaker 3: I'm sorry to be anti unless you really care to.
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: I'm definitely gonna smoke a cigar.
- 1:23:42Speaker 4: I'm probably gonna smoke as well. Off camera.
- 1:23:45Speaker 13: He's gonna and I will smoke.
- 1:23:47Speaker 4: But I don't want to be the guy that's it.
- 1:23:50Speaker 3: There goes the day.
- 1:23:52Speaker 13: Yeah, God, damn it, dude, you know this is I'm
- 1:23:57Speaker 13: totally It's just like, uh yeah, I like to know
- 1:24:00Speaker 13: ahead of time. This was so I can fucking side
- 1:24:05Speaker 13: on what clothes I want to ruin and whether work
- 1:24:09Speaker 13: out in the morning is I certainly won't after this
- 1:24:12Speaker 13: I'm working.
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: On right now now, there's any percentage of me getting
- 1:24:17Speaker 4: the heat heat, you won't get anything. Francis to resent me.
- 1:24:21Speaker 11: I just don't. As a matter of fact, I.
- 1:24:26Speaker 4: Had no idea you were such a cigar guy. I'm
- 1:24:29Speaker 4: not such a love.
- 1:24:31Speaker 3: As for us to make a special occasion of this.
- 1:24:34Speaker 4: But by the way, did you buy these on the bottom?
- 1:24:37Speaker 13: Owned it?
- 1:24:37Speaker 3: Okay?
- 1:24:38Speaker 11: Cool?
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: So next time a guy did send us a case
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: which he wants us to smoke, which we don't have
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: to do today.
- 1:24:46Speaker 4: But what kind of cigars are these?
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: Seven?
- 1:24:51Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:24:51Speaker 13: Come on, you want me to get the nicer ones?
- 1:24:55Speaker 4: You have real cigars?
- 1:24:57Speaker 13: I don't want to you have I have them?
- 1:25:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll go grab him. I don't want to undo
- 1:25:03Speaker 3: Owen's nice gesture.
- 1:25:04Speaker 4: Though, No, it was a seven dollars gesture.
- 1:25:06Speaker 3: Okay, all right, hold on, sorry, you get this?
- 1:25:09Speaker 9: No, sure, dude, I.
- 1:25:13Speaker 12: I thought seven dollars?
- 1:25:15Speaker 11: How much is a good one?
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: Eighteen dollars? Seventeen?
- 1:25:19Speaker 13: Twenty ten dollars? Is?
- 1:25:21Speaker 4: What is it?
- 1:25:22Speaker 3: Like?
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: It's that noticeable?
- 1:25:23Speaker 4: I mean's seven dollars? I've never heard of this?
- 1:25:25Speaker 13: Uh?
- 1:25:26Speaker 11: What is this?
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: This is educational?
- 1:25:31Speaker 10: Is it like it's like wine prices?
