- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that Chuck Norris was chasing the Tyrannosaurus Rex. The
- 0:06Speaker 1: rex was not chasing the jeep. Murray, Murray, you there.
- 0:10Speaker 1: You love sandwiches. Huh, Let's go to eighty. He is
- 0:14Speaker 1: bo wow that Prime Time Maybe Nada crush on Betty Rubbell.
- 0:19Speaker 2: I honestly, until after the segment ended and we went
- 0:22Speaker 2: to commercial break, had no idea that Jonathan Coachman was black.
- 0:25Speaker 1: He caught them the game last night, although they won
- 0:28Speaker 1: the game. You're listening just to Gotton Company.
- 0:31Speaker 2: We are back in the Lake Tahoe at the American
- 0:33Speaker 2: Century Championships. Honored to be here. We love this event.
- 0:37Speaker 2: It's the same day every single day here. Taylor, though,
- 0:40Speaker 2: is unhinged today and Taylor Twelveman going to join us
- 0:44Speaker 2: later this later in this episode. But Taylor, my Taylor
- 0:48Speaker 2: is unhinged today because US soccer loses to Belgium last night.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Four to what I mean? You are all over the
- 0:55Speaker 2: place this morning. You are calling US Soccer the James
- 0:59Speaker 2: Fran Sports essentially, what's the matter with you?
- 1:03Speaker 1: What happened to you?
- 1:04Speaker 3: We play a game around here called hand up.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Yeah, hand up Yeah.
- 1:09Speaker 3: I am embarrassed that I believed this team.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Hand up.
- 1:13Speaker 2: I am proud that I didn't believe in this team
- 1:15Speaker 2: about that.
- 1:16Speaker 3: That was a measuring stick game to see where this
- 1:18Speaker 3: so called Golden generation is with top ten opponents. Yeah,
- 1:22Speaker 3: they're not even close. From the moment. From the moment
- 1:26Speaker 3: that game kicked off, the moment looked way too big
- 1:30Speaker 3: for them. They looked terrified trying to defend their best
- 1:34Speaker 3: players were shockingly bad. It's just I feel like I
- 1:39Speaker 3: should be wearing a Dunce cap today for believing in that.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Because you believed in US men's soccer. What I've been
- 1:44Speaker 2: telling you for years, stop believing in US men's soccer.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Once they play somebody good.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Listen, they're at home, they're hosting the thing, and they
- 1:50Speaker 2: got themselves to a place they've been to before when
- 1:53Speaker 2: they weren't hosting this thing.
- 1:55Speaker 1: And I keep telling you, and I was telling you.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Once they faced the good teams, and they did last night,
- 2:00Speaker 2: they're gonna be exposed. And they were exposed realistically, and
- 2:05Speaker 2: it was embarrassing.
- 2:06Speaker 1: That's the bad part. It's okay to lose.
- 2:08Speaker 2: You lose, you know, you lose in pks, you lose
- 2:11Speaker 2: by a goal, you lose on a bad goal. It's
- 2:13Speaker 2: fine losing to Belgium. There is no shame in losing
- 2:16Speaker 2: to Belgium. It's losing to Belgium that way, that's the problem.
- 2:20Speaker 3: You compare the way we went out to the way
- 2:22Speaker 3: Mexico went out at the Azteca against England. Mexico made mistakes,
- 2:26Speaker 3: but they went out swinging. Y. You look at cap
- 2:29Speaker 3: Verde who goes out against Argentina. Cape Verde didn't blink
- 2:32Speaker 3: against Leo Messi.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Yeah, cape Verde won the Cup. I mean they did
- 2:36Speaker 2: put it on the pole, Tayler.
- 2:37Speaker 3: And realistically, realistically, soccer in this country never had people
- 2:42Speaker 3: like you. You've seen this story way too many times.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Yea.
- 2:45Speaker 3: The biggest damning fact for soccer yesterday was that they
- 2:49Speaker 3: now are starting to lose people like me who have
- 2:51Speaker 3: been holding up the cape for this team, saying now
- 2:53Speaker 3: the golden generations coming, the golden generations coming. Our best
- 2:56Speaker 3: players are playing in Europe, even though our goalkeepers playing
- 2:59Speaker 3: in them. They lost me because I had the moment yesterday,
- 3:05Speaker 3: the realization this is probably the best we could do.
- 3:08Speaker 3: This is our ceiling. We are the reason why I
- 3:11Speaker 3: called them the James Franklin of international soccer.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Yeah, please explain on that. I mean, I have an
- 3:15Speaker 2: idea as to why, but go ahead.
- 3:18Speaker 3: US soccer is the bully that knocks around lesser opponents.
- 3:22Speaker 3: But once you put us in the ring with somebody
- 3:24Speaker 3: our size or god forbid, bigger, we pee our pants, yes,
- 3:28Speaker 3: and we get absolutely pummeled. You look at the group
- 3:30Speaker 3: stage and the first round of the knockout round, Paraguay
- 3:34Speaker 3: thirty fourth in FIFA's ranking, Australia twenty eighth and FIFA rankings,
- 3:38Speaker 3: Turkey A was twenty seventh, which we lost.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Can we just call it Turkey? I mean enough of Turkey,
- 3:43Speaker 1: a jeez.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Then Bosnia sixty first, Belgium was eighth in the World
- 3:49Speaker 3: Cup rankings, and that's why, to me, this World Cup
- 3:51Speaker 3: is a failure. There's really no other way to spin it.
- 3:55Speaker 3: It's going out with this level of a stinker and
- 3:58Speaker 3: no showing. The round of sixteen just completely invalidated the
- 4:03Speaker 3: group stage and that Bosnia match.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Taylor wanted Tim Howard to play goalie last night. That's
- 4:10Speaker 2: how old is Tim Howard? Not that not that age
- 4:14Speaker 2: is really effective when you're playing goalie. But you were yearning,
- 4:17Speaker 2: clamoring for Tim Howard last night. Who's the only soccer
- 4:20Speaker 2: player I can naim outside of Land, the Donovan.
- 4:22Speaker 3: I mean, and I'm not even too sure age matters
- 4:24Speaker 3: for this US men's national team because Tim Reim. Oh yeah,
- 4:28Speaker 3: this guy, Tim Reem is thirty eight years old. He's
- 4:30Speaker 3: our center back. Tim Reim was too slow eight years
- 4:35Speaker 3: ago in the World Cups. And I get it. Our
- 4:38Speaker 3: best athletes they're playing football. Our best athletes are playing basketball.
- 4:43Speaker 3: We're in a country with over three hundred million people.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Tim Reim simply cannot be the best that we could do.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Three hundred of the three hundred million available people. Right,
- 4:55Speaker 2: What you're saying is Tim Reim cannot be the best
- 4:58Speaker 2: that we can produce.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Is that what you're saying?
- 5:01Speaker 3: You could talk about all the progress that we've made
- 5:05Speaker 3: as a soccer country.
- 5:06Speaker 2: We can't talk about it. We've made no progress. We
- 5:09Speaker 2: simply went to a place we've been to before. I mean, right,
- 5:12Speaker 2: am I wrong?
- 5:13Speaker 3: Correct?
- 5:14Speaker 1: We've been to this round before? Correct?
- 5:15Speaker 3: Correct?
- 5:16Speaker 1: Yes, it's Tim Reim.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Starting at thirty eight is an indictment on where we
- 5:21Speaker 3: are as a soccer country, where the defensive depth we
- 5:24Speaker 3: show is shocking. Because I think most people that follow
- 5:27Speaker 3: this team would agree tim Reem is our best option. Yes,
- 5:31Speaker 3: he shouldn't be our best option, but he is by
- 5:33Speaker 3: far our best option.
- 5:34Speaker 2: It is so funny how these things change day to day.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Win or lose, right tim Reim? When they win, he's
- 5:40Speaker 2: the cage evet that the US soccer team needs. And
- 5:42Speaker 2: when they lose in a pool of three hundred million people,
- 5:45Speaker 2: how is Tim Reim the best we could produce. I
- 5:48Speaker 2: don't even care about Tim Reid. I am sorry that
- 5:51Speaker 2: Taylor is being so hard on you, Tim reen I'm
- 5:54Speaker 2: reading them, you really are. He got reamed into the
- 5:57Speaker 2: boards last night like a hockey player. I mean Stu Gotts.
- 6:00Speaker 3: We equalize one one off the free.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Kick deflection, Yeah, lucky Gulf.
- 6:05Speaker 3: What a moment for the country. One of the best
- 6:07Speaker 3: moments in US men's national team those sixty one seconds,
- 6:11Speaker 3: the sixty one seconds that we equalize that game. Yeah,
- 6:14Speaker 3: only for Tim Reim to come back on the other
- 6:17Speaker 3: side and get absolutely posterized sixty one seconds after we equalized.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Kids in Belgium are going to grow up with that
- 6:26Speaker 3: poster on their walls.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Yes, with Tim Raim getting smushed into the boards on
- 6:30Speaker 2: their wall and say themselves they have three hundred million
- 6:34Speaker 2: people living over there and that's the best they could produce.
- 6:38Speaker 3: And Matt Freeze, the goalkeeper, is the other example of
- 6:42Speaker 3: you just.
- 6:43Speaker 2: I just it was amateur hour. That's what made it embarrassing.
- 6:46Speaker 2: It felt like amateur hour. It felt like, you know,
- 6:48Speaker 2: it was amateurs playing against a professional club.
- 6:51Speaker 3: The start of the second club You like that, Huh yeah,
- 6:54Speaker 3: I don't know if the national team had club technically
- 6:57Speaker 3: like a club would be like Liverpool or Manchester.
- 6:59Speaker 1: You're trying.
- 7:00Speaker 3: I do appreciate the fact that this World Cup you've
- 7:03Speaker 3: been watching, you've been locked in.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Yes, I don't need to try.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I just keep saying US men's soccer is never going
- 7:08Speaker 2: to be a thing, and they never are.
- 7:09Speaker 3: So I mean the US that second half, they start
- 7:13Speaker 3: off the second half so well, they're the ones dictating
- 7:15Speaker 3: the action. We're chasing that second goal. We have the
- 7:18Speaker 3: home crowd in Seattle behind us. You could feel the
- 7:20Speaker 3: momentum shifting and you get that disaster of a third
- 7:25Speaker 3: goal from Matt Freeze where he has plenty of time
- 7:28Speaker 3: for the clearance and he just young, way coody, he
- 7:31Speaker 3: just kicked into the ground and the moment was again
- 7:34Speaker 3: just way too big.
- 7:35Speaker 1: For this team.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Cape Verde walks away from this World Cup feeling better
- 7:39Speaker 2: than the United States, Right, Yeah, that's.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Not, that's not.
- 7:45Speaker 2: We went one round further than cape Verde and you're
- 7:48Speaker 2: telling me they walk away feeling better than we did.
- 7:51Speaker 3: One thousand percent. Kate, Like, cape Verde is in a
- 7:55Speaker 3: place where they could still hang their hat on moral victories. Yes,
- 7:59Speaker 3: They're population is the size of some very small US cities.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Yes, they didn't win a game tailor, I.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Mean no, but they had a couple of good draws.
- 8:08Speaker 1: They had to come, I know.
- 8:09Speaker 2: But we won some actual games, including a game against Paraguay.
- 8:12Speaker 2: And we're still saying that cape Verdet walks away feeling
- 8:14Speaker 2: better about their.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Soccer because our time for moral victories were in the nineties.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Our time for moral victories we're in the two thousands. Yes,
- 8:22Speaker 3: we cannot keep being this country that says this is
- 8:24Speaker 3: our golden generation of soccer and then we come away
- 8:28Speaker 3: with the moral victory where a team like Belgium, who
- 8:31Speaker 3: spent thirty six hours complaining about the flow baligin red
- 8:35Speaker 3: card reversal, only to then stuff us in a locker
- 8:38Speaker 3: and say, hey, if Baligan played, if Baligan didn't play,
- 8:42Speaker 3: we were still going to stuff you in this locker, right.
- 8:44Speaker 2: It's what I was trying to tell you and Mikey
- 8:46Speaker 2: yeah yesterday. As it relates to Balligan. Sometimes I'm a
- 8:49Speaker 2: big believer and things happen for a reason, and you
- 8:52Speaker 2: don't meddle, you know, once they're on the on, they
- 8:55Speaker 2: once they start moving, you don't get in the way
- 8:57Speaker 2: of things that are happening naturally.
- 8:59Speaker 1: And what happened was unnatural.
- 9:00Speaker 2: And we went from this cute, little lovable, you know,
- 9:03Speaker 2: host country team, the United States men's team, to a
- 9:07Speaker 2: team that had a target on our back because we
- 9:09Speaker 2: felt the need to have the leader of our country,
- 9:11Speaker 2: the President called the head of FIFA and say, hey,
- 9:13Speaker 2: reverse that red card on Balligan. I'm telling you, if
- 9:16Speaker 2: Baligan doesn't play, that team is focused, that team rallies
- 9:20Speaker 2: together and they get it done because they don't want
- 9:22Speaker 2: that to be Balligan's last game, and they win that game.
- 9:25Speaker 2: I'm telling you right now they would have been better
- 9:28Speaker 2: off without Balligan, and Balligan should have said, hey, you
- 9:30Speaker 2: know what, I got a red I'm gonna do the
- 9:32Speaker 2: right thing here. I don't need someone to call on
- 9:34Speaker 2: my behalf. I'm not going to play soccer today. I
- 9:37Speaker 2: Am not going to do it. It's going to get
- 9:39Speaker 2: in the way of us winning. I'm telling you right now,
- 9:41Speaker 2: I listen, I'm gonna ask Twalman about it, and I
- 9:43Speaker 2: guarantee you that he believes in this kind of stuff
- 9:45Speaker 2: and he'll agree with me, guarantee it about.
- 9:48Speaker 3: I felt like early, like WWF days with the nWo.
- 9:52Speaker 3: I like being the bad boys of soccer, right, Being
- 9:55Speaker 3: the bad boys of soccer is cool until you're losing.
- 9:58Speaker 2: For one, right, but you understand what I'm saying. Yes,
- 10:01Speaker 2: of course it's cool until you're losing four to one,
- 10:04Speaker 2: But you understand. It's a cute story, little lovable team,
- 10:07Speaker 2: underdog team that suddenly has the president calling on their
- 10:11Speaker 2: behalf to get a player who shouldn't be playing based
- 10:14Speaker 2: on the rules. It was a bad red card, we
- 10:16Speaker 2: all agree, terrible red card. It shouldn't have been called,
- 10:19Speaker 2: but it was called. But then when you have someone
- 10:21Speaker 2: interfear like that, you go from underdog to oh my god,
- 10:24Speaker 2: we have marks on our backs. And Belgium played like
- 10:27Speaker 2: it last night, like they had a chip on their shoulder.
- 10:29Speaker 1: They were pissed and they should have been.
- 10:31Speaker 3: But what would you rather be the lovable underdogs or
- 10:34Speaker 3: the bad boys Cape Verde fifty two days until college
- 10:37Speaker 3: football soccer.
- 10:40Speaker 1: It was nice. Now when you.
- 10:42Speaker 2: We're in light Tahoe, there's a fine looking man sitting
- 10:45Speaker 2: to my left tailor. Twelve minutes there are two good
- 10:50Speaker 2: looking tailors sitting to my left ear.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Taylor, twelve men with us. A tough loss last night
- 10:55Speaker 1: for us.
- 10:56Speaker 2: You know what, it was an embarrassing loss, at least
- 10:58Speaker 2: from my standpoint.
- 10:59Speaker 1: What'd you think that's the.
- 11:01Speaker 4: Hardest thing, you know, it's it's a pill that I
- 11:05Speaker 4: still feel.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Listen, it's one thing to lose the game.
- 11:08Speaker 4: If Kevin de Bruyne or Belgium score world class goal,
- 11:11Speaker 4: you lose to one, you tip your cap and say
- 11:13Speaker 4: it is what it is. To lose in the fashion
- 11:16Speaker 4: that they did, to lose in the way where opening whistle,
- 11:22Speaker 4: it felt like a completely different team, a team that
- 11:24Speaker 4: we hadn't seen play this entire World Cup for the
- 11:27Speaker 4: United States.
- 11:29Speaker 1: That was tough. That was really tough.
- 11:31Speaker 4: And that is a difficult pill for that group of
- 11:33Speaker 4: players to swallow, and that's going to be a difficult
- 11:36Speaker 4: one for them to get over.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Taylor, do you think the World Cup for America is
- 11:39Speaker 3: going to be graded as a success of failure or
- 11:41Speaker 3: how are you kind of seeing.
- 11:42Speaker 1: You said quarterfinals? U.
- 11:45Speaker 4: I didn't think the bust would be a capitulation, you
- 11:49Speaker 4: know what I mean. I didn't see that happening. So
- 11:51Speaker 4: to answer your question, I don't know. The problem is
- 11:56Speaker 4: the soccer person in me will say Paraguay is definitely possible, right,
- 12:03Speaker 4: So that kind of pulled forth. Listen, Paraguay qualified inconnable
- 12:07Speaker 4: like South America is no joke. They only gave up
- 12:09Speaker 4: six goals and woke up qualifying and you scored three
- 12:12Speaker 4: goals in the first half.
- 12:13Speaker 1: So that's I see that.
- 12:14Speaker 4: But then the media person in me is, how do
- 12:17Speaker 4: I explain to the general public that it is different?
- 12:20Speaker 1: But it's not.
- 12:21Speaker 4: It's the round of sixteen. They lost, they're out, and
- 12:25Speaker 4: here we are.
- 12:26Speaker 1: How'd you feel about the Uh?
- 12:28Speaker 2: Well, I guess the president stepping in and you know,
- 12:31Speaker 2: FIFA overturning the Balligan red card and him. You know,
- 12:35Speaker 2: sometimes like the normal progression of things. I'm a big
- 12:37Speaker 2: believer and things happen for a reason. And I feel
- 12:41Speaker 2: like the US team might have rallied without their best player,
- 12:43Speaker 2: and I don't like when we mess with the normal normal,
- 12:47Speaker 2: you know, kind of trajectory of how things are going
- 12:50Speaker 2: to happen.
- 12:50Speaker 4: I think if the Balligin thing happens within twenty four
- 12:53Speaker 4: to thirty six hours of the Bosnia game, I don't
- 12:55Speaker 4: think it's anything like this, right. I think you're right.
- 12:59Speaker 4: I think it put a target on the back. It
- 13:02Speaker 4: put way too much of a distraction. Now, the US
- 13:05Speaker 4: didn't lose because of that. I want to make that
- 13:07Speaker 4: abundantly clear. But you can't sit here and say that
- 13:12Speaker 4: it didn't change the whole energy of the entire thing.
- 13:15Speaker 4: It felt very odd, yes, motivated, yesilm.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Yes, they had a chip, Yes, a chip yea.
- 13:22Speaker 4: And so it put a target on the back that
- 13:24Speaker 4: quite frankly, the United States doesn't deserve because they're not
- 13:27Speaker 4: in the top eight of the world. So you didn't
- 13:29Speaker 4: need to add that extra element. But that falls on
- 13:33Speaker 4: FIFA burying their heads in the sand and not doing
- 13:37Speaker 4: their due diligence. And within thirty six hours saying listen,
- 13:40Speaker 4: the referee made a mistake based on the appeal from
- 13:42Speaker 4: the United States, were changing the Balligan thing. That would
- 13:45Speaker 4: have changed the narrative, But the narrative that the President
- 13:48Speaker 4: made two phone calls. Then he's taken credit for it.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Now some people are saying he had nothing to do
- 13:53Speaker 4: with it. Now you're just talking about complete nonsense that
- 13:57Speaker 4: you needed to talk about.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Are you going to show up on the field and
- 14:00Speaker 1: here we are talking about that.
- 14:02Speaker 3: Yeah, Belgium should feel silly for how much time they
- 14:04Speaker 3: spend complaining about no reversal. Right, because they're starting eleven.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Looked like miles better than ours.
- 14:11Speaker 1: And they're starting eleven.
- 14:12Speaker 4: This was a brilliant move from Rudy Garcia because they're
- 14:15Speaker 4: starting eleven in the first two games. Was the top
- 14:17Speaker 4: five oldest teams in the World Cup last night was
- 14:20Speaker 4: not right. They sat the Bruyna, they sat Lukaku, who
- 14:23Speaker 4: has been off the bench of the entire time. Doku
- 14:25Speaker 4: didn't start, so they tapped into the energy and.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Youthfulness of their own roster. And yeah, you're one hundred
- 14:32Speaker 1: percent correct here.
- 14:35Speaker 4: But on the other hand, if I was Rudy Garcia,
- 14:37Speaker 4: I would have said publicly, you can play whoever you want,
- 14:39Speaker 4: We're gonna be ready, like I would have used it
- 14:40Speaker 4: the other way. But quite frankly, I don't need to
- 14:43Speaker 4: say anything to Rudy Garcia because they were ready to go.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Yeap, where's US men's soccer?
- 14:48Speaker 2: We'll get to golf for a second, because I am
- 14:50Speaker 2: now happy that you could focus on your golf game.
- 14:52Speaker 2: I'm only concerned about the bet I put on you
- 14:53Speaker 2: to win this damn thing. But where do we go? Like,
- 14:57Speaker 2: how does US men's soccer move forward?
- 14:59Speaker 1: Here? We don't know, Stucotts.
- 15:01Speaker 4: I really don't know, because I feel like I'm asked
- 15:03Speaker 4: that after every round of sixteen exit and so the
- 15:07Speaker 4: only thing I will say is if you're not if
- 15:10Speaker 4: you're in the ecosystem of the men's soccer, no matter
- 15:13Speaker 4: what part of it, and you're not motivated by this,
- 15:15Speaker 4: then you really need to think about the changes in
- 15:19Speaker 4: evolution and how do you grow this thing?
- 15:21Speaker 1: Right?
- 15:22Speaker 4: I will say this, the US men will always be
- 15:25Speaker 4: better if they have three Christian Poliitics, three Weston McKinney's,
- 15:30Speaker 4: three Tyler Adams. So my answer to that, Stu Gotts,
- 15:33Speaker 4: is we just got to develop better players and more
- 15:35Speaker 4: of them. We got to have a fishing bigger pool. Yes,
- 15:37Speaker 4: we got to have forty eight to fifty guys that
- 15:40Speaker 4: you know can play. But also what that does is
- 15:43Speaker 4: it raises the level of everyone else around them, So
- 15:47Speaker 4: the internal competition of the team, they have to deliver
- 15:50Speaker 4: and they have to play.
- 15:51Speaker 3: It feels like every World Cup cycle we talk about
- 15:54Speaker 3: needing a better youth system in this and then we
- 15:57Speaker 3: crash out of the World Cup and the same planes
- 16:00Speaker 3: pop up where people are talking about it's tens of
- 16:03Speaker 3: thousands of dollars for kids to play, travel to play,
- 16:06Speaker 3: all of it. Yeah, yeah, how much of that plays
- 16:09Speaker 3: into why we have such a small talent pool besides
- 16:12Speaker 3: the fact that soccer isn't the biggest sport in this country.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:15Speaker 4: I would say this though, MOLS academies over the last
- 16:18Speaker 4: four or five years were they're now no longer paid
- 16:21Speaker 4: to play, so they're trying to bridge that gap, right.
- 16:23Speaker 4: US Soccer has done a deal with Bank of America.
- 16:26Speaker 4: They're trying to bridge that gap and make it more inclusive.
- 16:29Speaker 4: But it's not the tailor to your point, Americans, we
- 16:33Speaker 4: want it to happen overnight.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I just don't think this is going to happen overnight.
- 16:37Speaker 1: I really don't.
- 16:38Speaker 4: Twenty one of those twenty six players that played in
- 16:40Speaker 4: this World Cup came from or were developed in MLS.
- 16:44Speaker 4: Now MLS started after the last World Cup. So over
- 16:48Speaker 4: the next twenty years.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Now what happens.
- 16:51Speaker 4: But everyone under the sun said, if your best players
- 16:54Speaker 4: are playing in Europe, they'll be ready for the pressure.
- 16:56Speaker 1: They'll be ready for the moment. Guys, last night was
- 17:00Speaker 1: a moment.
- 17:01Speaker 4: Was a moment where all the pressure in the world
- 17:03Speaker 4: and your top eleven were from the top leagues in
- 17:08Speaker 4: the world, and they were not ready to play. That's
- 17:12Speaker 4: where the dilemma truly lies.
- 17:15Speaker 3: The sixty one seconds where the game was tied, though
- 17:17Speaker 3: they can never take those seconds in great.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Sixty one second maybe the greatest sixty one seconds of.
- 17:21Speaker 1: The history of US men.
- 17:22Speaker 4: Soaker a kidding aside the third The third goal is
- 17:25Speaker 4: the hardest one for me to swallow, right the goalie
- 17:28Speaker 4: one thing to be down to one. But at the
- 17:30Speaker 4: beginning of the second half we made subs, there was
- 17:33Speaker 4: different energy.
- 17:34Speaker 1: It looked like they were okay.
- 17:35Speaker 4: To give up that goal with your goalkeeper and center
- 17:39Speaker 4: back making a mockery of the situation.
- 17:41Speaker 2: That is where that sucks. That's brutal. Yeah, it was embarrassing.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Were you yelling like, hey, get back of the net?
- 17:48Speaker 2: What were you doing in that moment?
- 17:50Speaker 1: In that moment, I was like, what, just stop the ball?
- 17:54Speaker 1: Truly in all serious.
- 17:56Speaker 4: This du guts right the goalkeeper kick it thirty yards into.
- 17:59Speaker 2: The stand I don't care, right, see, they just get
- 18:02Speaker 2: it out of there.
- 18:03Speaker 4: Like this notion that we need goalkeepers to be great
- 18:06Speaker 4: with their feet and passers, Well, that just bit you
- 18:09Speaker 4: in the rear end. Kick get thirty rows in the stands.
- 18:12Speaker 4: Everybody regroups and guess what, it's still two to one.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Yep, all right, I know you gotta go.
- 18:17Speaker 2: But my concern about putting a bet on you, just
- 18:19Speaker 2: so we're clear, was that you're going to be focused
- 18:22Speaker 2: on soccer and not the.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Golf Friday morning would have been tough.
- 18:25Speaker 2: We got soccer out of the way, though, I mean, unfortunately,
- 18:27Speaker 2: we all wanted them to advance, and now you can
- 18:29Speaker 2: just focus on golf.
- 18:30Speaker 1: I'm feeling good about your chances this week.
- 18:33Speaker 4: I would feel really good by the fact that I've
- 18:35Speaker 4: played two rounds in the last thirty days, so yeah,
- 18:37Speaker 4: I would feel really goods at.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Fish's plate, like a thousand rounds this week.
- 18:42Speaker 4: No, Fish already played eighteen this morning and it's just
- 18:44Speaker 4: eight o'clock and he's going out again right now.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Yes, absolutely, all right, we appreciate you doing this, man.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Enjoy your weekend out here.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Man.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Thank you guys, all right, the great Taylor twelve men
- 18:53Speaker 2: with US US soccer stinks
