Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Now, this is the Mark Simone Show on 710WOR.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Well, hey, it's Friday. That's the good news. It's Friday.
- 0:12Speaker 2: The bad news, it's going to be a rainy, messy weekend,
- 0:14Speaker 2: but we got a lot to get to today. We'll
- 0:17Speaker 2: get to President Xi of China, his visit to the
- 0:19Speaker 2: White House. A lot happened there. We'll get to the UN.
- 0:23Speaker 2: This should be the final day of total gridlock UN week.
- 0:26Speaker 2: They're all starting to leave over the weekend. We'll get
- 0:29Speaker 2: to Netanyahu's speech yesterday. We have all these TV channels
- 0:35Speaker 2: on here. We've got all these different TV screens. Now,
- 0:38Speaker 2: the left wing, the left wing, ooh, they hated that
- 0:40Speaker 2: Netanyahu speech. Look at this. New York One, that little,
- 0:43Speaker 2: little tiny New York One is the most biased left-wing network.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Look at the headline they put on the button. Netanyahu
- 0:51Speaker 2: fuels tensions and creates backlash. And it was actually quite
- 0:57Speaker 2: a heroic speech from Netanyahu. New York One making him
- 1:00Speaker 2: look like some sort of villain. And then they immediately
- 1:03Speaker 2: cut to Mamdani saying that Netanyahu's lying speech, blatant lies,
- 1:10Speaker 2: and he tried to whitewash the genocide that Israel has committed.
- 1:15Speaker 2: You can get a lot of that crap from the real, real,
- 1:17Speaker 2: real left-wing television. It was quite a speech. It was
- 1:22Speaker 2: a powerful speech as Netanyahu got up to speak. Half
- 1:26Speaker 2: the UN General Assembly walked out. They got up and
- 1:29Speaker 2: walked out. Many different nations, their delegates walked out. Before
- 1:34Speaker 2: Netanyahu even spoke, as soon as he got to the podium,
- 1:37Speaker 2: they walked out. It's a very anti-Semitic place, that UN.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Very anti-Semitic. Always has been since its creation. And as
- 1:46Speaker 2: Netanyahu gets up, he must have expected some walkouts, but
- 1:50Speaker 2: it was half the room. And Netanyahu said, Mr.
- 1:53Speaker 3: President.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Before I begin, just a quick announcement. If there are
- 2:02Speaker 4: any other moral cowards who haven't yet left this hall,
- 2:06Speaker 4: please do so now. Thank you very much.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Perfect. Absolutely perfect. And it was quite a speech. Very powerful.
- 2:17Speaker 2: And we'll play a lot of it throughout the show
- 2:20Speaker 2: this morning. And he stood up for Israel and... You know,
- 2:24Speaker 2: the problem is for the anti-Semitic haters, nothing's going to
- 2:28Speaker 2: persuade them on anything. But he did point out that
- 2:33Speaker 2: the genocide was against Israel. The worst Holocaust since the
- 2:38Speaker 2: Hitler-not-Holocaust took place on October 7th. Israel's response was as
- 2:44Speaker 2: careful and as cautious as could be.
- 2:46Speaker 4: To the protesters outside, to the hypocritical delegates who left
- 2:52Speaker 4: us all, I asked, where were you when the Iranian
- 2:58Speaker 4: tyrants butchered and maimed tens of thousands of unarmed Iranian civilians?
- 3:05Speaker 2: Yeah, he made a lot of great points. In Iran,
- 3:09Speaker 2: over the last six months, they have slaughtered in the
- 3:12Speaker 2: street 40,000 of their citizens just for protesting or whatever
- 3:16Speaker 2: reason opposing the government, just slaughtered them. And there were
- 3:20Speaker 2: some protesters, they just opened fire on them and shot
- 3:23Speaker 2: them all. Some survived and ended up in the hospital. Now,
- 3:26Speaker 2: this is an absolute fact. Iran's special Republican guard, whatever
- 3:31Speaker 2: the hell they call it, actually went into the hospitals
- 3:34Speaker 2: and shot those protesters in their hospital bed just to
- 3:37Speaker 2: make sure they were dead. And again, the Susan Sarandans,
- 3:41Speaker 2: the Mamdani's, where were they on this? Netanyahu has a
- 3:43Speaker 2: good point. Where were they on that? They still haven't
- 3:48Speaker 2: condemned it. But the yelling and screaming about Israel, which is,
- 3:53Speaker 2: of course, insane. But it's just fueled on total hatred.
- 3:57Speaker 2: He did go after Mamdani.
- 3:59Speaker 5: Mr.
- 3:59Speaker 4: Mamdani, since you were elected mayor of this city, many
- 4:04Speaker 4: Jews no longer feel safe in New York.
- 4:08Speaker 2: They talk to me. They tell me.
- 4:11Speaker 4: This isn't the city we remember. It changed so quickly. Now,
- 4:15Speaker 4: it's no wonder. You praise criminals convicted of supporting Hamas.
- 4:21Speaker 4: You count as friends people like Hassan Piker, who said
- 4:25Speaker 4: America deserved 9-11. America deserved 9-11.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Some friends you have. Yeah, now did you ever think
- 4:33Speaker 2: you'd live to see a New York City could have
- 4:36Speaker 2: a mayor that was openly bigoted, openly racist, openly anti-Semitic?
- 4:41Speaker 2: Did you ever think you'd live to see that? Where
- 4:42Speaker 2: you would brag about his anti-Semitism? A mayor who would
- 4:45Speaker 2: actually engage in actual hate speech. Netanyahu even got to
- 4:49Speaker 2: his wife.
- 4:50Speaker 4: Your wife liked a post praising the October 7th massacre.
- 4:54Speaker 4: She liked another post saying Tel Aviv shouldn't exist. You
- 4:59Speaker 4: refuse to condemn any of that.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a strange world. You've got an actually bigoted,
- 5:07Speaker 2: biased mayor engaging in hate speech. His wife, crazier, well,
- 5:13Speaker 2: as crazy as he is, so. We'll play more of
- 5:15Speaker 2: Netanyahu's speech. It was quite a day. The protesting was
- 5:19Speaker 2: out of control. Netanyahu, he's gone now. He was staying
- 5:22Speaker 2: at the Regency Hotel, 61st and Park, all of Park
- 5:25Speaker 2: Avenue for a couple of blocks, filled with crazy lunatic protesters.
- 5:30Speaker 2: As he came to the UN, the protesters went there.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Many of them were arrested. Susan Sarandon among them. Why,
- 5:38Speaker 2: if this were a few weeks ago, her career was
- 5:39Speaker 2: so bad, people would say, Ah, Susan Sarandon, she can't
- 5:43Speaker 2: even get arrested. Well, it turns out she can. Also,
- 5:46Speaker 2: some of those DSA congressional candidates, what's his name? Darial
- 5:51Speaker 2: Aziza Avaliva-Chevalier, also detained by NYPD. They were arrested for
- 5:57Speaker 2: blocking a roadway. Linda Sarsour showed up wearing a red hijab,
- 6:03Speaker 2: leading demonstrators. She had all the left-wing crazies out there. Anyway,
- 6:07Speaker 2: we'll get back to that. The other thing that happened yesterday,
- 6:10Speaker 2: of course, was the meeting with China's President Xi Jinping.
- 6:15Speaker 2: It was all day. The President spent the entire day
- 6:18Speaker 2: with him. From morning to night, they had a big
- 6:22Speaker 2: state dinner last night. I'm looking at the guest list.
- 6:24Speaker 2: It was all the big tech leaders. It was a
- 6:27Speaker 2: lot of big CEOs, hedge fund guys. There was Steve Schwartzman.
- 6:34Speaker 2: There was Larry Fink. There were a lot of these
- 6:36Speaker 2: guys there. All the big tech leaders, even the older ones,
- 6:40Speaker 2: Michael Dell, Tim Cook, all the current tech leaders, the
- 6:44Speaker 2: AI guys, the media. Let's see who's on the guest list.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Jesse Waters, Laura Ingram, Brett Baer. The menu. Oh, all
- 6:53Speaker 2: your favorites. All your favorites. First course, yellow squash velouté
- 7:00Speaker 2: with a wild mushroom fricassee. Sounds great, doesn't it? I
- 7:05Speaker 2: don't know what the hell it is. Sounds terrible. Who
- 7:07Speaker 2: the hell wants to eat that? Oh, it's complimented by
- 7:10Speaker 2: crispy pancetta and topped with a drizzle of scallion oil.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I'm sure under the table, the president had a Big
- 7:18Speaker 2: Mac and some filet of fish and some French fries
- 7:22Speaker 2: hidden under the table. It was followed by crusted sea
- 7:25Speaker 2: bass with braised baby bok choy and roasted eggplant. I
- 7:33Speaker 2: guarantee you, Donald Trump now almost 80. He's been in
- 7:37Speaker 2: a billion restaurants, never once, ever said to the waiter,
- 7:42Speaker 2: I'll have the sesame-crusted sea bass. Oh, and bring me
- 7:45Speaker 2: some braised baby bok choy. He's never said that in
- 7:49Speaker 2: his life. For dessert, okay, so this sounds like the
- 7:53Speaker 2: good part. Still don't know what the hell it is.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Vanilla cremeux with a sour cherry confit atop a walnut frangipane.
- 8:07Speaker 2: What the hell is that? And served with White House
- 8:10Speaker 2: honey ice cream. Okay, there's one thing you could eat there.
- 8:14Speaker 2: It sounds horrible. Elon Musk was also there sitting right
- 8:17Speaker 2: at the table with Xi Jinping. Now, you got to
- 8:20Speaker 2: spend the whole day with this guy. He had to
- 8:23Speaker 2: go with him to the Smithsonian. They had one meeting
- 8:25Speaker 2: after another. Who the hell, what the hell would you
- 8:27Speaker 2: talk to this guy about all day? Now, they did
- 8:30Speaker 2: have talks, serious talks for an hour here, hour there,
- 8:33Speaker 2: bilateral meetings. And usually you try to, if you're a president,
- 8:38Speaker 2: the formula is your staff and their staff, you arrange
- 8:42Speaker 2: some sort of what they call deliverables. So at the
- 8:45Speaker 2: end of the talks, you can come out and announce,
- 8:47Speaker 2: we've got this accomplished. This is what we got. It's
- 8:50Speaker 2: called a deliverable. And you're supposed to announce a few
- 8:52Speaker 2: of those later. President Trump, of course, doesn't play by
- 8:55Speaker 2: the rules. Not your typical president. Apparently wasn't worried about that.
- 8:59Speaker 2: So they didn't arrange any of that kind of stuff.
- 9:01Speaker 2: And usually they're meaningless anyway. You know, usually when they
- 9:04Speaker 2: come out, it was Bush or Obama or Clinton. They
- 9:07Speaker 2: make the big announcement. Well, we've accomplished. They've agreed to
- 9:11Speaker 2: buy our soybeans. And that's supposed to be the deliverable,
- 9:15Speaker 2: the big, big accomplishment. And if you're not a soybean farmer,
- 9:19Speaker 2: who cares that they're buying our soybeans? Or they announce
- 9:21Speaker 2: we're going to get two pandas from them, something like this.
- 9:25Speaker 2: But it went well. Now, the president toured Xi Jinping
- 9:30Speaker 2: around the White House, showing him everything. And then they
- 9:34Speaker 2: had these ceremonies. They had one where they looked out
- 9:37Speaker 2: over the Rose Garden. And out in the Rose Garden,
- 9:39Speaker 2: there were a million, dozens of these, like in the
- 9:42Speaker 2: Revolutionary War uniforms, these minute men playing the fife and drums, marching.
- 9:47Speaker 2: I don't know what the hell this is. This is
- 9:49Speaker 2: Xi Jinping. He doesn't know what the hell this is
- 9:51Speaker 2: or what he's looking at. But you got to do
- 9:53Speaker 2: something with this guy all day. Then President Trump toured
- 9:58Speaker 2: him around the White House, even took him to the
- 9:59Speaker 2: Ball construction site to show him the ballroom he was building.
- 10:03Speaker 2: He's getting a lot of flack for that online. Everybody
- 10:05Speaker 2: making fun of him. Why is he taking him into
- 10:07Speaker 2: a construction zone? Well, this is what he does. He's
- 10:12Speaker 2: a builder. He's very proud of it. Hey, you know
- 10:13Speaker 2: when you go to anybody's house, especially they got a
- 10:16Speaker 2: new house or they're living in an incredible house. You
- 10:19Speaker 2: go to their house. What's the first thing they do?
- 10:21Speaker 2: Come on, I'll give you a tour of the house.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Then they lead you around from room to room. And
- 10:26Speaker 2: you have to pretend you're interested in this. And this
- 10:28Speaker 2: is the living room. And then here's the wine. So
- 10:31Speaker 2: they show you all this stuff. And you got to
- 10:33Speaker 2: pretend you like this. You have to ooh and ah.
- 10:35Speaker 4: Ooh, oh, ooh.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Then they tell you where this chair is from, where
- 10:39Speaker 2: they got this couch from, how they look at the
- 10:42Speaker 2: molding here. They show you all this crap. And you
- 10:44Speaker 2: got to pretend you're interested. So even presidents do that.
- 10:48Speaker 2: He even showed him the helipad. And then he got
- 10:54Speaker 2: a lot of flack for that. And it is probably
- 10:57Speaker 2: the nicest helipad ever built. It's a very special granite.
- 11:00Speaker 2: And he said, Xi Jinping loves granite. That's why he
- 11:04Speaker 2: showed it to me. He loves granite. I don't know
- 11:09Speaker 2: about that. Do we believe that? Are we buying that?
- 11:12Speaker 2: I never met anybody that said, I love granite. You know,
- 11:18Speaker 2: when people talk about, oh, I love pickleball. I'm a
- 11:20Speaker 2: big football. I love golf. I've never heard me say,
- 11:22Speaker 2: you know what I love? I love granite. I don't
- 11:24Speaker 2: know anybody that would ever say that. So, oh, the
- 11:27Speaker 2: one thing that got a lot of flack, you know,
- 11:30Speaker 2: when you come down that promenade, that walkway, the president
- 11:35Speaker 2: has portraits in gold frames of every president. So he's
- 11:40Speaker 2: leading she along, showing him every portrait. And then when
- 11:43Speaker 2: they get to the Biden one, she looks confused. It
- 11:46Speaker 2: It's not Biden. It's some mechanical. And Trump goes, this
- 11:49Speaker 2: is the auto pen. Remember him with the auto pen? Well,
- 11:54Speaker 2: every left-wing kook site went absolutely nuts. Mediaite, real left-wing site.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Big headline. Utterly disgusting. Trump mocks Biden in front of
- 12:07Speaker 2: China Xi, sparking furious online backlash. Well, if you go online,
- 12:13Speaker 2: you can see video of this moment. Go watch the video.
- 12:17Speaker 2: I've watched it. I've slowed it down. I've watched it
- 12:19Speaker 2: carefully 20 times. When he shows it to she and
- 12:24Speaker 2: tells him what it is, you can see she burst
- 12:28Speaker 2: out laughing. Not only can you see him laughing, but
- 12:31Speaker 2: his head snaps back. He throws his head back with laughter.
- 12:34Speaker 2: He really got a kick out of it. So you
- 12:37Speaker 2: can't say it's disgusting if it got that big a
- 12:40Speaker 2: laugh out of she. You know, sometimes you're up there telling...
- 12:45Speaker 2: Doing your little jokes. It happens to me all the time.
- 12:49Speaker 2: In front of a big audience in the big ballroom
- 12:51Speaker 2: and you make a few jokes in one of them,
- 12:53Speaker 2: somebody could say, oh, you went a little too far.
- 12:57Speaker 2: The audience is the judge. If the audience all roared
- 13:00Speaker 2: with laughter, if the joke landed well, the audience loved it,
- 13:03Speaker 2: that's all that matters. So you can try to pick
- 13:06Speaker 2: on Trump for this, but watch the video. She laughed
- 13:09Speaker 2: so hard his head goes back. He loved the joke.
- 13:12Speaker 2: So it landed. She loved it. You can't say it
- 13:16Speaker 2: wasn't right. Now, here's the problem. President Trump, that's yesterday,
- 13:21Speaker 2: all day, big state dinner. Today, I'm looking at the schedule.
- 13:26Speaker 2: It's Xi again, President Xi all day. First, they have
- 13:29Speaker 2: a morning tea at 10 o'clock. Then they visit the
- 13:33Speaker 2: National Archives. Then they have another meeting. Who the hell
- 13:36Speaker 2: wants to spend two days with this guy? You've seen
- 13:39Speaker 2: this President Xi. What would you talk to? You sit
- 13:43Speaker 2: in a room with him. You have to have tea
- 13:44Speaker 2: with the guy for an hour. What do you say
- 13:45Speaker 2: to the guy? Hey, how about those Yankees? Terrible about
- 13:49Speaker 2: that Aaron Judge. What do you talk to this guy about?
- 13:52Speaker 2: Melania looked beautiful. She's spending time with Mrs. Xi, Madam Ping.
- 13:59Speaker 2: And then they leave later today. Looks like I'm looking
- 14:03Speaker 2: at the schedule. Looks like the president does not leave Washington.
- 14:05Speaker 2: He's going to go to Kentucky or Tennessee. on Saturday,
- 14:10Speaker 2: but he's not coming to Bedminster. Mar-a-Lago is closed until
- 14:14Speaker 2: usually about Halloween. So he'll be in Washington and probably
- 14:18Speaker 2: go to his, he has a Trump golf course just
- 14:21Speaker 2: outside of DC in the suburbs. So when he stays,
- 14:24Speaker 2: he goes there and plays golf. So this UN week
- 14:29Speaker 2: stuff has been a disaster. I don't know what the
- 14:31Speaker 2: hell was going on last night. You could hear sirens everywhere.
- 14:35Speaker 2: It depends. Your motorcade size depends on how big a
- 14:38Speaker 2: world leader you are. If you're the president of some
- 14:42Speaker 2: dinky country, your motorcade is your SUV. And maybe you
- 14:46Speaker 2: got a car in front of you and behind you.
- 14:47Speaker 2: It's a three-car motorcade. If you're Macron of France, you're
- 14:52Speaker 2: going to get like eight cars. If you're a high-risk
- 14:56Speaker 2: security like Netanyahu, that was a lot of cars. It
- 14:58Speaker 2: was cars and ambulance. One of those cars with the
- 15:01Speaker 2: guys fully armed with the Uzis and the the big
- 15:05Speaker 2: guns and the stinger missile on the roof kind of thing.
- 15:07Speaker 2: And if you're the president, it's an unbelievable motorcade. It's
- 15:12Speaker 2: like 50, literally 50 motorcycles first.
- 15:17Speaker 3: And then.
- 15:19Speaker 2: The cars, it's like literally 20, 30 cars, SUVs, those
- 15:24Speaker 2: presidential limousines, three of them, ambulances, everything, you know, military
- 15:30Speaker 2: type vehicles. And then last night, and some of them,
- 15:33Speaker 2: have police escorts with the sirens going just to get
- 15:35Speaker 2: them through. I don't know what was going on last night,
- 15:38Speaker 2: but you could hear the sirens all over Midtown. They
- 15:42Speaker 2: start leaving these world leaders today. Some of them stay
- 15:45Speaker 2: for a day or two through the weekend because they
- 15:48Speaker 2: like to go shopping. They like to go to all
- 15:49Speaker 2: the top restaurants and go to Broadway shows and all that.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Although I talked to some of the owners of some
- 15:55Speaker 2: of our most famous, top, crowded, hard-to-get reservation restaurants, and
- 16:00Speaker 2: they said, They can't stand this U.N. week because it
- 16:04Speaker 2: scares away all the regular customers. They cancel reservations because
- 16:08Speaker 2: they don't want to fight this gridlock and street closures.
- 16:12Speaker 2: And they don't care about these U.N. delegates. They don't
- 16:14Speaker 2: need them. And first of all, they're never coming back.
- 16:16Speaker 2: And so by Monday, we should be pretty much back
- 16:20Speaker 2: to normal traffic wise. So we've got a lot to
- 16:22Speaker 2: get to today. Hey, we'll get to the polls when
- 16:26Speaker 2: they keep telling you, look how low President Trump, look
- 16:28Speaker 2: how low his approval rating is. They're misleading you, as
- 16:32Speaker 2: they always do, by leaving out stuff. We'll get to
- 16:34Speaker 2: that coming up. It's Mark Simone. Three hours every day.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Three hours now. Nine to noon here on 710WOR.
- 16:43Speaker 1: What's better than two hours of Mark Simone? Three. The
- 16:47Speaker 1: Mark Simone Show. Now nine till noon weekdays.
- 16:51Speaker 4: 710WOR.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Hey, the rain should begin late tonight and then tomorrow, Saturday,
- 17:01Speaker 2: a lot of rain throughout the day. It'll continue into Sunday.
- 17:04Speaker 2: It looks like it's just rain. It won't be that
- 17:07Speaker 2: bad in the city. It's east of the city. The
- 17:10Speaker 2: further east you go and south, the worse it'll get. Connecticut,
- 17:16Speaker 2: you're going to get a lot of rain. It shouldn't
- 17:17Speaker 2: be that bad, though. But it's eastern Long Island where
- 17:21Speaker 2: you're going to get hit very hard. Very, very, very hard.
- 17:24Speaker 2: A lot of rain. the worst of the wind, but
- 17:28Speaker 2: shouldn't be that bad in the city. And if you're
- 17:31Speaker 2: in Fairfield County, Westchester, it shouldn't be that bad. And
- 17:33Speaker 2: if you're west of the city, New Jersey, it shouldn't
- 17:36Speaker 2: be that bad. Now, this CNN pollster, I don't know
- 17:41Speaker 2: what the hell's going on with this. CNN, fake news,
- 17:45Speaker 2: left wing, very biased. But the pollster there, Harry Enten,
- 17:52Speaker 2: he's very honest all the time. I don't know how
- 17:56Speaker 2: this happened. I don't know what that's all about. Hey,
- 17:58Speaker 2: by the way, the, uh, uh, the chairman of Paramount,
- 18:01Speaker 2: David Ellison, he's the guy that just bought, uh, Warner, uh,
- 18:05Speaker 2: Discovery and CNN and all that. He was invited to the, uh,
- 18:08Speaker 2: state dinner last night. Uh, interesting. I think the really,
- 18:12Speaker 2: the only network head I saw on the guest list there, but, uh,
- 18:16Speaker 2: here's the CNN poster. Now here's the, uh, what they
- 18:18Speaker 2: do and fake news with its MS now or, uh,
- 18:22Speaker 2: CNN or those kind of places. What they do, sometimes
- 18:25Speaker 2: they just lie and give you fake news. Kids in cages,
- 18:29Speaker 2: you know, that never happened under Trump. The pictures were
- 18:31Speaker 2: all from the Biden-Obama era. Sometimes they doctor up the
- 18:36Speaker 2: audio or the video so it says something totally different,
- 18:41Speaker 2: like Charlottesville. But then other times they just leave out
- 18:44Speaker 2: half the story. They just give you a little piece
- 18:47Speaker 2: of the story that will totally mislead you. So, You've
- 18:51Speaker 2: seen everybody do that over the last couple of weeks.
- 18:54Speaker 2: You keep seeing the story. President's approval ratings have never
- 18:57Speaker 2: been lower. The president is so far down in the polls.
- 19:01Speaker 2: The president's approval ratings are all time low. He's dropping.
- 19:05Speaker 2: He's so low. So you come away thinking he's going
- 19:09Speaker 2: to get wiped out. But the part they left out
- 19:13Speaker 2: is the Democrats are much lower than he is, way
- 19:18Speaker 2: below him. The Democrats' approval ratings is half of what
- 19:21Speaker 2: Trump's is. So as bad as he's doing, the Democrats
- 19:24Speaker 2: are doing much worse. But I don't know what it is.
- 19:26Speaker 2: The CNN pollster always... He's honest and they keep cutting him.
- 19:30Speaker 2: I don't know why they didn't fire him because he's honest.
- 19:33Speaker 2: He's totally honest. Harry Enten, listen to him.
- 19:35Speaker 6: Democrats on their own leaders. They don't like their own leaders.
- 19:39Speaker 6: I dare say they despise their own leaders. And this
- 19:41Speaker 6: is the big difference from what we saw back in 2018,
- 19:44Speaker 6: just before Democrats were trying to take back the U.S.
- 19:46Speaker 2: House of Representatives that fall.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Take a look here.
- 19:49Speaker 6: Net approval of Congress. Dem leaders among Democrats back in 2018.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Look at this. Their net approval rating was.
- 19:54Speaker 6: Plus 19 points. Hey, that's pretty good. Two thumbs up,
- 19:57Speaker 6: says Colin Ebert. Now we're talking about two thumbs down.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Look at this.
- 20:02Speaker 6: Minus 12 points. What a different world that we are
- 20:05Speaker 6: in right now. Democrats do not like, they despise.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Their own leaders. Yeah, so not only are Democrats doing
- 20:13Speaker 2: just as badly as they can in the polls, among
- 20:17Speaker 2: Democrats they're hated. I don't know what they think they're
- 20:20Speaker 2: going to accomplish. You know, you see all these crazy left-wing,
- 20:23Speaker 2: crazy Democratic socialists, anti-Semites getting all the attention. But when
- 20:27Speaker 2: you get into the real numbers, real polls, they're not
- 20:31Speaker 2: popular even with Democrats. So there's going to be a problem.
- 20:35Speaker 2: People keep trying to tell you what's going to happen
- 20:36Speaker 2: in the midterms. You really can't predict it. Hey, speaking
- 20:41Speaker 2: of leaders, the Democrats hate Schumer. Hate him. Hate him.
- 20:49Speaker 2: He has no chance at re-election. He now knows this.
- 20:53Speaker 2: He will not seek re-election. So that seat, the big
- 20:56Speaker 2: Senate seat, is up for grabs. AOC is always talked
- 21:00Speaker 2: about as the one who will take it. Or maybe
- 21:03Speaker 2: she'll run for president. Well, it's always been talked about,
- 21:07Speaker 2: thought about. Looks like she's really, really about to try
- 21:11Speaker 2: to do it. She's been on the campaign trail. Now,
- 21:14Speaker 2: she's a Congresswoman. And when you're in Congress, you just
- 21:18Speaker 2: represent a local district, her district in Queens. That's where
- 21:22Speaker 2: you campaign. If you're a senator, it's statewide. Well, she's
- 21:25Speaker 2: now begun a statewide campaign. So this is either for
- 21:30Speaker 2: Schumer's seat in the Senate or 2028. AOC now touring upstate.
- 21:37Speaker 2: campaigning upstate. She went to Buffalo to do a rally
- 21:42Speaker 2: with potential supporters. Buffalo. She joined Kathy Hochul for another rally.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Her team is also setting up in Syracuse, Ithaca. That's
- 21:53Speaker 2: the home to Cornell University, a terrible anti-Semitic university. Members
- 21:59Speaker 2: of the Democratic Socialists of America are all over that place.
- 22:03Speaker 2: They're even on the city council up there. It's just
- 22:06Speaker 2: horrible up there. But AOC now campaigning statewide. That means
- 22:11Speaker 2: she's really, really serious about all of this. So they
- 22:15Speaker 2: had this press ban yesterday. The president, first half of
- 22:20Speaker 2: the day, looked like they defied the court order and
- 22:22Speaker 2: kept banning CNN and MSNBC now. And if you watch CNN,
- 22:29Speaker 2: they're basically covering themselves all day about how they were
- 22:31Speaker 2: banned and MSNBC about how they were banned. And other
- 22:38Speaker 2: networks joined in to ban themselves in solidarity with CNN
- 22:43Speaker 2: and MSNBC. Other networks, even Fox, agreed to not participate
- 22:48Speaker 2: in the pool coverage. Just solidarity among... Remember when Obama
- 22:55Speaker 2: tried to ban Fox? I don't think the other networks
- 22:57Speaker 2: joined in in solidarity. But it's interesting, without the pool,
- 23:02Speaker 2: without these reporters all over everything, including... the Xi visit
- 23:07Speaker 2: to the White House, it's supposed to make Trump suffer
- 23:11Speaker 2: that he's not getting the coverage. Actually, I've never seen
- 23:13Speaker 2: him look happy. It's made for the White House better
- 23:17Speaker 2: for him. You don't have Caitlin Collins sneering at him.
- 23:20Speaker 2: You don't have these nasty reporters screaming horrible questions at
- 23:24Speaker 2: him when he talks to Xi. And I'm watching, here's
- 23:28Speaker 2: Joe Scarborough saying it's humiliated Trump. He's not getting the coverage.
- 23:33Speaker 2: He's getting plenty of coverage. Plenty of coverage. I saw
- 23:37Speaker 2: every moment of the she visit. You see it online.
- 23:40Speaker 2: You see it on Instagram. You see it on Twitter.
- 23:42Speaker 2: You see it on just because you're not seeing it
- 23:45Speaker 2: on MS now with their 600,000 viewers. It doesn't really
- 23:48Speaker 2: mean that much or CNN with their 300,000 viewers. That's
- 23:52Speaker 2: really not where people see things. It's online nowadays and
- 23:55Speaker 2: there's plenty of coverage. Hey, we got a lot to
- 23:58Speaker 2: get to. We'll take some calls to 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 24:05Speaker 2: It's Mark Simone here. Three hours every day. It's 9 a.m.
- 24:08Speaker 2: to noon. 9 a.m. to noon every day.
- 24:10Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show. Now 9 till noon weekdays.
- 24:16Speaker 5: 710WOR.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Well, big speech yesterday. Netanyahu at the UN. Phenomenal speech.
- 24:21Speaker 2: We'll play you parts of it a little later. Hey,
- 24:23Speaker 2: and good news. The IDF, the Israeli Defense Force, killed
- 24:28Speaker 2: a major Hamas commander yesterday. A guy who had held
- 24:32Speaker 2: seven Israeli hostages in the a tunnel in Gaza. The
- 24:37Speaker 2: Israeli Defense Forces said on Thursday they had eliminated, killed
- 24:42Speaker 2: Mahmoud Abdel Fattah Awad, a Hamas commander. This is the
- 24:47Speaker 2: guy that held seven hostages in a Gaza tunnel during
- 24:50Speaker 2: the war, killed in an airstrike in Gaza City. Well,
- 24:54Speaker 2: good for the IDF. Hey, we'll take some calls. 800-321-0710
- 24:56Speaker 2: is the number.
- 24:56Speaker 4: 800-321-0710.
- 25:05Speaker 2: You remember Butler, Pennsylvania, the assassination attempt. Donald Trump hit
- 25:10Speaker 2: in the ear. And you remember the crazed shooter, Thomas
- 25:15Speaker 2: Matthew Crooks, fired a bunch of shots. Luckily, Trump turned
- 25:19Speaker 2: his head. They missed him. One hit his ear, but
- 25:21Speaker 2: the others missed him. But one hit a guy behind
- 25:24Speaker 2: him and killed him. And another guy was hit with
- 25:28Speaker 2: a bullet. It was taken to the hospital. He was
- 25:31Speaker 2: just wounded. Only wounded in that failed assassination attempt, but
- 25:37Speaker 2: he died yesterday. He passed away. He was apparently wounded
- 25:41Speaker 2: badly enough that it took a long time, but he
- 25:44Speaker 2: died yesterday. He's in his mid-70s. His name was James
- 25:48Speaker 2: Copenhaver of Coropolis, Pennsylvania. Wounded in the assassination attempt and
- 25:56Speaker 2: died yesterday. Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to
- 26:00Speaker 2: Mike in Florida. Mike, how you doing?
- 26:03Speaker 5: Good morning, Mark.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Yes, Mark.
- 26:06Speaker 5: I love these actresses, you know, Susan Sarandon and the
- 26:10Speaker 5: rest of them, going out there, you know, once they
- 26:14Speaker 5: become completely irrelevant, and they try to look smart by
- 26:17Speaker 5: thinking that, by protesting the most liberal state in the world, perhaps, Israel,
- 26:23Speaker 5: that they're going to somehow make an impact. You know,
- 26:27Speaker 5: talk about artificial intelligence. These actresses are the exemplars of it. But,
- 26:33Speaker 5: you know, it's ironic because Israel literally is one of
- 26:36Speaker 5: the most liberal states. I mean, they treat women, nobody
- 26:38Speaker 5: treats women better than they do in Israel. And these
- 26:40Speaker 5: are all feminists, as they proclaim. I mean, let Susan
- 26:44Speaker 5: Sarandon go to Gaza, you know, see how she gets
- 26:46Speaker 5: treated there. Maybe her career will get a rebound.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Yeah, very good point. Nobody worse to women than people
- 26:53Speaker 2: in Gaza. Nobody better to women than Israel. And they
- 26:57Speaker 2: hate it because it's a democracy. It's a real democracy.
- 27:01Speaker 5: Exactly. It's a real open. I mean, they employ more,
- 27:04Speaker 5: you know, they employ Gazans in Israel. I mean, up
- 27:08Speaker 5: until a certain point, maybe not anymore. I mean, and
- 27:12Speaker 5: also there's 19 other Arab states and none of them
- 27:14Speaker 5: support Gaza. which is interesting. I mean, nobody ever asked
- 27:17Speaker 5: that question.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:18Speaker 2: No, listen, anti-Semitism is always based on absolute stupidity, anger, rage, hatred.
- 27:24Speaker 2: It's not based on anything logical of any kind, but
- 27:28Speaker 2: good call, Mike. Thanks for calling. Let's go to, uh,
- 27:30Speaker 2: Kathy in North Carolina. Kathy, how you doing?
- 27:35Speaker 3: Good morning. I want everybody to notice that you're true.
- 27:37Speaker 3: Your word that you were going to, uh, be here
- 27:40Speaker 3: on Fridays in the fall. Appreciate that very much.
- 27:44Speaker 2: All I did in the summer, mostly August, is take
- 27:48Speaker 2: Fridays off. You know, I got all these weeks of vacation.
- 27:51Speaker 2: I don't like to take a whole week at a time.
- 27:53Speaker 2: So instead of taking a week, I take every Friday.
- 27:56Speaker 3: But people, for some reason, people are panicking. But I love,
- 28:02Speaker 3: you know, I want to tell you, I love Jimmy
- 28:03Speaker 3: Fallon so much. So much. And I just want to say, Mark,
- 28:07Speaker 3: that you had the perfect Jimmy Fallon moment.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Jimmy Fallon, Fallon, Fallon.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Yes, I know. You said, I fell over laughing like
- 28:18Speaker 3: I do when I'm listening to him. He needs to
- 28:20Speaker 3: steal this line. You said that the guy was so far,
- 28:24Speaker 3: as far left as your salad fork.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Well, Jimmy Fallon, one of the funniest comedians.
- 28:32Speaker 2: He's on here every night, nine to midnight. You ever
- 28:35Speaker 2: watch his Saturday night show, Fox News Channel, 10 o'clock?
- 28:38Speaker 3: I do. I do.
- 28:40Speaker 2: Best monologue in television. He's brilliant.
- 28:43Speaker 3: His jackets kill me.
- 28:46Speaker 2: All right. I wouldn't steal his wardrobe, but it's perfect
- 28:50Speaker 2: for him.
- 28:50Speaker 3: But you stole that line. That was a great one.
- 28:53Speaker 3: You need to take credit for that one. I know
- 28:55Speaker 3: I didn't deliver it as well as you did, but
- 28:58Speaker 3: it was hysterical. I've never heard that line before.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Yeah. What do you do down there in North Carolina?
- 29:04Speaker 3: And by the way, it's very impressive that you know
- 29:07Speaker 3: where the salad fork is. That was the whole point.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Oh, okay. You know what? People aren't sure which fork
- 29:13Speaker 2: to use. Grab whatever fork you want. Who the hell cares?
- 29:17Speaker 2: Take any fork you want.
- 29:18Speaker 3: No, but the salad fork is the farthest on the left.
- 29:21Speaker 3: You're correct. And I try to always tell people that
- 29:24Speaker 3: all the time.
- 29:24Speaker 2: I know. But what the hell is it? Take any
- 29:26Speaker 2: fork you want. What happens if you don't use the
- 29:30Speaker 2: smallest fork for the salad? Oh, you used a bigger fork.
- 29:32Speaker 5: That's.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Take whatever fork. Bring your own fork. Don't even touch
- 29:36Speaker 2: their stuff.
- 29:36Speaker 3: But I also, if we have a minute, I want to...
- 29:39Speaker 3: implore you again that somehow I would love to read
- 29:43Speaker 3: your Instagram feed, but somehow I got blocked and it
- 29:47Speaker 3: could not have been but by mistake. Because... because I
- 29:52Speaker 3: never did anything, and I miss seeing you on Instagram.
- 29:53Speaker 2: Yeah, people always say that. The only way you get
- 29:55Speaker 2: blocked is if you put up an inappropriate comment.
- 29:57Speaker 3: That's not true, Mark. I know every comment I ever made.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Well, one of them was either not relevant to whatever
- 30:03Speaker 2: the post was, or it was attacking somebody. No political anything.
- 30:09Speaker 3: No, it definitely wasn't. We have common friends. We've worked
- 30:13Speaker 3: at the same stations together separately, of course.
- 30:16Speaker 2: We did? What station did we work at together?
- 30:20Speaker 3: Pro, but not together.
- 30:21Speaker 2: WPRO Providence. Oh, okay.
- 30:25Speaker 3: I do not remember my gangster story about Pro FM
- 30:28Speaker 3: when I first worked there.
- 30:29Speaker 2: There was a gangster? PRO FM is the big, like
- 30:32Speaker 2: the Z100 of Rhode Island.
- 30:33Speaker 4: Yes.
- 30:34Speaker 2: And what happened?
- 30:35Speaker 3: So I worked on the FM side, and there was
- 30:38Speaker 3: a man there when I first started who escorted me in,
- 30:42Speaker 3: and he looked, he was huge, and I thought, oh,
- 30:43Speaker 3: this is so nice, he's escorting me. And it turns
- 30:46Speaker 3: out he was the bodyguard for the mayor.
- 30:48Speaker 6: Oh.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Yeah, Buddy Cianci, he did a radio show there on
- 30:53Speaker 2: the weekends.
- 30:55Speaker 3: Yes, and it was terrifying. The guy was like, I
- 30:58Speaker 3: couldn't believe it. Every time I got there, there was
- 31:00Speaker 3: like armed guards. And when I figured out it was
- 31:03Speaker 3: a mafia connection, it just completely freaked me out. It
- 31:05Speaker 3: took me a minute to figure it out.
- 31:07Speaker 2: You know, when I worked there on the AM, which
- 31:09Speaker 2: was the big station in New England, there was a
- 31:13Speaker 2: gangster working there. He was the weekend host.
- 31:17Speaker 5: Oh, I'm sure.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't want to mention his name. I think
- 31:19Speaker 2: he's dead. I'm sure he's dead. But he was a
- 31:22Speaker 2: gangster during the week and a DJ on the weekend.
- 31:25Speaker 2: And everybody was very cautious around him.
- 31:28Speaker 3: Oh, I thought you were talking about the mayor.
- 31:30Speaker 5: No, no, no.
- 31:30Speaker 2: This was an actual Providence gangster who worked there. And
- 31:34Speaker 2: there were all kinds of jokes about he's not only
- 31:36Speaker 2: playing the hits, he's doing the hits or something like that.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Anyway, I'm sure you have some minions there like Chris
- 31:42Speaker 3: or somebody who's fabulous that could help me figure out why...
- 31:46Speaker 3: I can't get you on Instagram.
- 31:49Speaker 2: You got blocked because you put up a comment.
- 31:52Speaker 3: No, I didn't.
- 31:52Speaker 2: That's the only way you could get blocked. Anyway, send
- 31:56Speaker 2: me an email. Go to my website, MarkSimone.com. Hit the
- 32:00Speaker 2: email button. I'll get to it, and we'll look in
- 32:02Speaker 2: to see why you got blocked. Okay. Nope, she went away.
- 32:07Speaker 2: What happened? All right. Thanks. One more call? Yeah, let's
- 32:11Speaker 2: go to Carl in Middletown, New Jersey.
- 32:15Speaker 5: Carl? Hey, Mark, how you doing?
- 32:19Speaker 2: Hey, next time you call, could you try to have
- 32:20Speaker 2: more noise? You don't have enough noise behind you.
- 32:22Speaker 3: Oh, I'm sorry.
- 32:25Speaker 2: For everybody listening, when you call, make sure there's a
- 32:27Speaker 2: lot of noise behind you and be 50 feet away
- 32:29Speaker 2: from the phone. That's what we like.
- 32:32Speaker 5: I'm on Bluetooth.
- 32:33Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 32:34Speaker 3: What would CNN ratings be if we turned up.
- 32:38Speaker 2: All the TVs in the airport? I can't understand one
- 32:41Speaker 2: word you're saying. What is it with the Bluetooth? You know,
- 32:43Speaker 2: there's like 4 million people listening. That's not enough to
- 32:45Speaker 2: get you to pick up the phone and actually talk
- 32:47Speaker 2: into it. How many do we have to have listening
- 32:49Speaker 2: before you'll actually hold the phone?
- 32:51Speaker 5: Is that better?
- 32:52Speaker 2: Much better. Now we can hear you.
- 32:55Speaker 3: I apologize to everyone listening.
- 32:57Speaker 5: What would CNN's ratings be if we turned off all
- 32:59Speaker 5: the TVs in the airports?
- 33:02Speaker 2: Well, it doesn't really affect their ratings. You know, that's
- 33:05Speaker 2: a good point you brought up. A lot of people say,
- 33:06Speaker 2: how come every airport, oh, they only show, why do
- 33:08Speaker 2: they only show CNN in the airport? They pay for that.
- 33:12Speaker 2: There's a company that runs all the airport TVs in
- 33:15Speaker 2: America and you pay them to put your channel on.
- 33:18Speaker 2: And that's why CNN does that. Now you say, well,
- 33:20Speaker 2: why didn't Fox pay them? Fox doesn't need to. Fox
- 33:23Speaker 2: has huge ratings. CNN pays for that. It's a form
- 33:26Speaker 2: of advertising. So that's actually paid for. It's not the
- 33:29Speaker 2: airport's decision. Hey, we've got a lot to get to.
- 33:32Speaker 2: I'm here now three hours every day, nine to noon
- 33:34Speaker 2: every day. Then, of course, at noon, Buck Saxton and
- 33:37Speaker 2: Clay Travis. And we've got to talk about that show.
- 33:42Speaker 2: We'll do it in a little while. Coming up on 710WOR.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Live from the WOR LifeVac studios.
- 33:50Speaker 2: Well, hey, it's just about 10 o'clock. This is when
- 33:53Speaker 2: I used to get here. Now we start early. The
- 33:57Speaker 2: show's now nine to noon, three hours every day. Back
- 34:00Speaker 2: right after the news with a big hour coming up
- 34:02Speaker 2: on 710WOR.
